Always wanted to tour this place. Wasn't disappointed. Take an evening tour (dusk or later) to get the most of your experience. Tour guides are believers and have all had ghostly encounters. Surprisingly little "legal" restrictions, as you tour the place in rooms that rely on natural lighting; tour guide just has a flashlight to help guide on stairs.

This place is the bees knees! Went on the day AND night tour! This place is so full of mysteries and history, booze, amazing tour guides and ghosts!!!!! Hands down our fav tour! Will come again!!!

Three main reasons to do this tour: The love of Ghost Adventurers, an affordable ticket price of $8/pp, and experiencing paranormal activities.
Spiral Staircase: Prior to the start of the tour, we visited the museum room filled with artifacts and memorabilia from ghost hunters and items found in the club. As we were walking back to the bar area from the museum, stop and look up at the narrow spiral staircase leading up to the second floor. I experienced an unnerving feeling of nausea and dizziness engulf me, as if it was spinning me around. If you are as sensitive as I am, you will feel it immediately. It wasn't until near the end of the tour, the tour guide told us why this staircase is haunted. It blew my mind.
Second Floor: Listen carefully to thuds on the ceiling coming from the 3rd Floor. We heard several thuds, but keep in mind, there is no one on the 3rd Floor. Completely empty.
3rd Floor (The Most Haunted Floor): From one of the rooms, we did hear the church bells ringing from the chapel across the way. If you listen carefully, it does sound like a music box. But how can that be? Unless, they are playing music in conjunction with each church bell chime. It was also quite an experience to be in the same ballroom where the Ghost Adventurers caught the apparition walking across the floor. The tape from where the camera tripod stood is still on the ground.
So GO...see for yourself why the Washoe Club is Haunted. We experienced our own personal paranormal experiences, and it sure won't stop with us. It's definitely worth the adventure to check out for yourself!!!

We loved the tour! We weren't sure when we went if we could tour the place, but we walked inside and the lady working the bar was happy to get us on a tour that afternoon. The museum in the downstairs portion is interesting. The crypt was quite creepy. They definitely are cashing on having been featured on Travel Channel and why not? That's how we knew about it and I loved getting to walk around the old rooms upstairs and learn a bit about the history. Our tour guide was awesome and she had brought homemade cookies too! We had drinks at the bar after the tour and I was happy to know that our admission ticket prices would go towards the renovation of this beautiful landmark. Definitely worth checking out and will make the Virginia City experience complete.

LOVED the atmosphere here. Fun and lighthearted at first seeing the bar - hearing the story of hauntings, even went in where the dead were stored back in the day, No big deal ! THEN when I went into the museum, I got a very suffocating - dark feeling that I could not shake...so I was outta there. If you are into thrills or just a cold drink - this is your place!!!

Didn't know what to expect on this tour, but our tour guide took us all over the building. He had wonderful ghost stories, and I kept wanting to have an encounter or capture orbs on my camera. Not this time. Fascinating old building.

Travelling from South Lake Tahoe to Reno, we detoured to Virginia City specifically to tour the Washoe Club. While we were hoping, but not really expecting, to see ghosts or other “paranormal phenomena” we did not see any. For us tours of this nature are really more about being entertained and informed by the tour guide because otherwise you’re just walking around an old, dilapidated building – which unfortunately is exactly what happened.
Things started off well enough as the person selling the $8 tickets was very friendly as was the lady bartender. However, our tour guide (who was admittedly new to the job) knew little about the hotel’s history – and she even told our group she, “did not know the dates”. Huh? You’re giving tours of a historical building and you can’t be bothered to learn the dates? At least make some cheat sheets!
To compound matters, she talked incessantly and often incoherently (probably as a cover-up for her lack of knowledge), and, to add insult to injury, told old jokes that she (and only she) seemed to find hilarious.
As for the building, it begins with a fairly steep climb up a couple of flights of stairs; also some areas are pretty dark.
All in all we were glad to leave!

Just my wife and I on the ghost tour. Richard was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a very enjoyable experience. It would be fun to have a tour done in the evening at dusk or once it got dark. I would recommend it to my friends.
My wife was the driving force behind going on the tour. She is a fan of the ghost show that has filmed there several times. I didn’t go in with any expectation of finding a ghosts. Didn’t hear or feel anything creepy while I was there. When I did get home and look at my photos- I did find a photo with a strange light orb and energy in it. I also had a hard time uploading my images to this review. You be the judge.

Visited this saloon in Virginia City and were intrigued to try the paranormal activity tour in the Millionaire Club next door. Really interesting stuff and we met some folks planning to spend the night searching for ghostly activity. Spooky and hIghly recommended!

Interesting and factual tour of the millionaires club and also about the haunted side of the Washoe Club. Small charge, well worth it - knowledgeable and fun guide too 😃

This place has so much potential, but misses the mark. Our tour guide was completely inarticulate. Such a disappointment.

A really neat place. I didn't have a chance to go on a tour but had a drink at the bar. No ghosts seen but was a little weird that I had a cell phone signal but couldn't call out or use do anything with Internet. Worth a visit.

This attraction will receive ratings based on your beliefs; if you believe in the paranormal you may find it interesting and if not, the stories are entertaining. We me a couple of folks that were going to be spending the night and according to him, if you are skeptical before spending the night, you won't be by the morning!!

This was a must see. We had a drink, walked around. We didn't have time to do the tour. But the bartender was friendly. It looks like it could be alot of fun!

This place has really gone downhill! The atmosphere isn't inviting at all. The drinks are overpriced and not a decent size for what you pay. This place is all about the haunted tours they give. Not about the history of place at all.

Halen gave us a tour and he was absolutely amazing with his witty sense of humor and historical information!! He picked me to stand on the X where ghost hunters spotted an apparition! He’s funny and great!! Awesome guy!

Having visited years back, the Washoe Club never fails to excite. The "Gentlemen's Club" was a great tour. The tour guide gave excellent accounts of history and stories of hauntings. We heard a lot of great noises and was thrilled with the renovations going on. Can't wait to go back!!

After reading all about the ghosts and haunted spots in Virginia City, I decided that I definitely had to check it out. I went on the 6;00 tour...last of the day. Richard was my guide, and as it turned out, I was the only one on the tour. He did a great job giving me lots of info about the building, the millionaire's club, and of course, the spirits that are in the building. Unfortunately, I did not get to experience any of them, but it was most definitely entertaining.

Over the years I have been to Virginia City many times when I visit family in Reno. The Washoe Club is one of my favorite places to stop. It has a rich and interesting history and a full functioning bar. This time we took the tour of the upper rooms and we're not disappointed. Richard our tour guide did an amazing job telling us about the different rooms (30 plus we toured) and the history of the people and area who once made this town thrive. If you like history, abandoned buildings, or ghost stuff you have to check out the Washoe club, you won't regret it!

My Wife and 2 young daughters are very into the Ghost Adventures tv show, so this was a MUST DO...our Guide was a man with a mustache, dressed in a period costume, it really added to the tour. Our particular guide was VERY knowledgeable, he knew everything about the Millionaire Club, it's past members, and interesting tales
I won't give anything away, but he did also tell us about some of the Paranormal experiences others have had while investigating or visiting the Washoe Club. and one could see how easily, THIS PLACE could be HAUNTED.
I think it was like $10 for adults and $4 for the kids each...easily money well spent, as not only do you get the stories and a guide, but you get to tour a Victorian Era 3 story building, see the interesting add ons and differences between todays interior architecture design, and yesteryear... we had a ball....a must do if you like history and/or any of the paranormal tv shows... enjoy!
A person out front of the Washoe Club that will tell you when the tours start & sells the tickets for the attraction...
Be sure to tip your guide if they do a great job, best to tip as soon as they show you THE CRYPT, as tha'ts the end of the tour...

The Washoe Club is my favorite hang out in Virginia City - and not just because they're dog friendly. It is just a great place with the friendliest bar staff, drink special and often a live band!

This is the best tour to do in VC. It's larger than it looks from the outside. Lots of rooms to explore. Our tour guide was great, young guy, did a great job. Lots of energy and history. Highly recommended!

The most fun my wife and I have had in the Reno area in years. Went to Virginia City for our 30th wedding anniversary. Love looking for ghost and I don't think we were disappointed, according to what I see in our pictures. Looking at going back in the summer after just being there in March.

Brought my daughter who is a Ghost Adventures fan. We did the tour. We had a really fun time. The museum at the end is actually interesting.

Virginia City, NV has no shortage of Saloons. The Bucket Of Blood (the place to go on summer weekends from noon to six when David John & the Comstock Cowboys are playing), the Delta Saloon with its famous "Suicide Table", Mark Twain Bar & Casino (open 24 hours according to its sign), Piper's Opera House Bar among many others, but by far my favorite is The Washoe Club. As you may know, if you follow such things, Virginia City, NV is considered one of the most haunted towns in the U.S. and this bar MAY be the most haunted building in the town. Back in the 1860's when the town was host to one of the country's biggest Gold (and Silver) strikes this bar housed the famous "Millionaire's Club which included among its members Mark Twain and General William Tecumseh Sherman. This is a true old time western bar which is what I like about it. No slot or video poker machines as with so many of the other saloons around town, and it looks substantially as it must have looked about 150 years ago although few of the fixtures in the bar (except for the 27 bullet holes in the ceiling) are original to the building. They do exist though and can be seen in the town’s Visitor’s Center. For those interested in the bar’s supernatural history there is a museum in the back where visitors are constantly snapping photos of “orbs” & “ghosts”, particularly in the dark, dank “wine cellar” in the back of the building. Not only was this area used to store the bar booze but it also was used to store the bodies of those poor miner’s who froze to death during the winter months.
Also rather unique is the spiral staircase leading up to the second floor “Millionaire’s Club”. This is one of only two free-standing (no center pole) spiral staircases in the world. The other is in the Our Lady of Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, NM and according to the Washoe Club’s tour guide both staircases were made by the same carpenter. I’ve seen the Santa Fe staircase and it is interesting to read their “history” of the building of that staircase. You will get a wholly different perspective of the staircase at The Washoe Club. Note: You cannot climb either staircase and, trust me, you probably wouldn’t want to. Reportedly the nuns in Santa Fe were scared to death of climbing this staircase as it had no handrail. I don’t know how Virginia City’s millionaire’s felt about their staircase. Looking out at the side of the building you can see the remains of another staircase that was used by the “ladies of the evening” to help provide a little more “entertainment” for the towns richest. The ladies had to enter from the street to keep the club “respectable”.
A small fee with get you a guided tour of the second floor “Millionaire’s Club” which is in the process of being restored as is the rest of the building. In fact for $400 you can spend the night in this area, but be warned: Bring your own bedroll, warm clothing and flashlights as there is no electricity up there and it can get pretty darn cold even in the summer months. It would probably be best to get a group together if you want to do this. Whatever you decide I highly recommend the guided tour.
As for the bar itself: The bartenders are great! Friendly and informative as to the bar’s history and they DO know how to mix drinks, which is more than I can say for some of the town’s other bars. My favorite is their “Blue Lady” (a Margarita with blue Curacao on top). This is one of their signature drinks and is named after one of the aforementioned “ladies of the evening”. If I remember correctly she got in a fight with another “lady” who ended up slitting her throat. For the last century of so she seems to be one of the bar’s most frequently encountered ghosts.
I would suggest becoming a member of the Washoe Club. $20 gets you a one year membership that entitles you to free access to the museum, discounts on drinks and merchandise (glasses, T-shirts & other souvenirs) and helps in the restoration of the building.
Whatever, if you’re going to Virginia City don’t miss this place. Who knows, maybe a paranormal investigating team will be roaming around when you visit. They weren’t there on my last visit but I’ve encountered them on other occasions and the bar has been profiled on The Discovery Channel.

This place was great! The whole town feels super haunted, but the Washoe Club most of all. Before you go, you have to watch The Ghost Adventures documentary on Virginia City. It will really add to the excitement.
The Washoe Club offers a ghost tour of the entire building. This is a MUST DO activity! That place is amazing, and the tour guide Richard is very knowledgable!

We went on the ghost tour and we weren't disappointed. The docent was a paranormal investigator and was well spoken and passionate about not only the club, but the paranormal as well. We sprung and rented at KII meter, and it did spike a few times, but nothing significant. However, we had a few personal experiences. My mother was touched on the elbow during the tour (no one was close to her), and I saw the hem of a woman's skirt in the room the monkey blew up (go on the tour, you will understand!) Also, in the museum we experienced significant KII spikes near the coffin and the case with the GHI memorabilia. A very fun activity appropriate for the history buff or those interested in the paranormal. There were quite a few stairs, but the tour is certainly appropriate for all ages, including the kiddos! They are slowly restoring the building to its former glory, and I hope they are able to do so! Thank you for a great time!

The Old Washoe tour was really interesting. Our guide told a very colorful tale of the building's past, the famous people who frequented it, it's destruction and rebuild, it's ghosts! A very interesting place. I'd love to go back and do one of the night paranormal tours. Don't miss this tour!

I've been on a lot of ghost tours, but this has been one of my favorites! In the middle of the day it was still a great experience. Our guide was attentive to the entire group. I had an experience in two rooms where I got a sharp shooting pain in my temple that disappeared the second I left the room. I also experienced some pretty intense nausea in three rooms and a shortness of breath in two other rooms. All the symptoms came on after being in the rooms for about 30 seconds and would stop as soon as I left the room. Of all the tours I've been on, I've only experienced this three times. So I think it was pretty cool as I feel like this place is legit. I also got some really good orb photos and two photos that looks like there may be a dark figure in the background. All in all, a great time!

We we in the area of Virginia City and I knew it was a "ghost town" so we had to stop by and check it out. We were walking up and down the street when we stumbled across this bar. I had no idea about the history or ghost adventures episode. We got me to go in was that it was the oldest saloon in the city. We sat at the bar to get a drink and the bartender asked us if we were there for the tour. That's when I learned about the history. The tour was about 45 minutes long and $8. Totally worth it!! They had original furniture and painting. Our guide, Halen, was awesome and told us all about the history and the ghost experiences. If you are into that stuff i HIGHLY recommend. It was so cool, definitely felt like I was back in time. It is truly haunted. You can feel the energy in there and I do believe I caught an orb in one of my videos.

is so good I'm going back in the night with my boyfriend and sister you can do it in the morning if you have smaller children who get scared and if you're brave enough do it at night and spend the night hunting gohst

A group of us stayed the night for a “lock in” for a ghost adventure. It is claimed that the bar and hotel is haunted. The second and third floor are stripped bare of floor and wall coverings, we had the entire hotel and bar to ourselves. The TV show Ghost Hunters filmed an episode there and supposedly had some pretty big anomalies on the second floor. They give tours of the bar and hotel during the summer, along with some pretty interesting history.

For eight bucks this wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Our tour guide seemed very rehearsed and not really into it. You get to see the dilapidated rooms and hear stories of the people who once lived or stayed there, so that was interesting. The building is scary only because the floor boards feel like they will give way at any moment. If you are really into this kind of thing I guess it would be fun. Otherwise, save the eight bucks and have another drink in the bar!

Ghost Adventures, here we come! After seeing this on GA, decided we couldn' miss it, and the tour was fun and conducted by Carl Buehler who has written an interesting book about ghosts in and near the VC area (if you believe). The tour took about and hour, went through about 30 rooms in the Washoe Club, and told about the history and tales of what has happened in the WC. He also showed us a picture of an apparition which was captured by a tour guest, which was absolutely amazing. All in all, the tour was worth the time and cost

We were looking forward to this tour since we watch the Ghost Adventures & knew the Washoe Club left a lasting impression on the team. As we approached the entrance there is a huge autographed poster of the G.A. members. The ticket seller offered to take our picture next to it. As we found out later a lot of the tour consists of pointing out what experiences they encountered & observing the X markings with tape on the walls/floors where they had set up their cameras. Honestly we felt the Washoe was sailing on the coattails of the ghostly tv show.
Our tour guide was new to the job & unfortunately she appeared that way. She babbled on then trailed off with no end to the first though, repeated herself & constantly told corny jokes. Her facts were scarce & she seemed to frequently comment on the supposed paranormal experiences of her previous tours.
We would have gotten more out of this visit if it was self guided.

The guide was simply terrific, he knew his stuff and put it across in such a way that you followed his words and actions do very closely. Great fun and well worth the visit.

We enjoyed our tour and find it to be quite informative.
The young male tour guide did provide us with many interesting and historical facts and keep us entertained.
the price was quite reasonable and this should be one of the attractions to visit.
There are two reasons why this listed as very good and not excellent.
1) in order to have a better opportunity to interact with a ghost a night visit would be a better time, ( we did the day tour, no ghosts welcomed us )
2) While we were told about the rooms that we did visit, I would suggest that plaques attached to the entrances of each room would provide one with a more in depth experience,

Two female bartenders there are very rude, an older lady and a short dark haired younger woman whose names I didn't get but they were very rude to my friends and I after finding out we were doing a little ghost hunting in the back "Ghost Adventures" room and crypt even though we purchased drinks like their sign says, were alone and haven't had issues doing this for years. She wanted us to either pay for an overnight investigation $400? or $150pp for a couple of hours...and yelled at my friends then proceeded to grumble about us at the bar which I overheard first before finding out what they did to my friends. Apparently greed has gone to their heads and they're going to lose patrons acting like that. Unfortunately, they're not the only business owners in town who are unfriendly like that but I won't name names but when you book a hotel room in the area you may encounter some of them...Virginia City may be a paranormal hot spot but it's still isolated with harsh cold winters and hot summers, no or poor a/c, awful wind and high altitude and the sheriff(s) always driving around looking to give tickets. Maybe they should take this into consideration if they want to continue chasing patrons off...some of us drive or fly from far away and don't appreciate being talked to like we're bad little kids...

You must do this tour if you are in Virginia City. The number of very powerful, wealthy and famous people that have come through these doors is staggering.
Great tour guide (Shelly?) shares her smartphone captures (ghost pictures) and personal experiences in the building, in addition to the tour script.
On a side note, we took pictures without flash (it was early afternoon) we captured blue orbs in the hallway of the second floor.

We love seeing the old saloons and the old historic buildings still standing in Virginia City. We visit Lake Tahoe at least once a year and always drive over to Virginia City, too. Never get tired of seeing the town, the cemetery, mining exhibit, etc. There are new things to see each visit.

I have been on several ghost tours throughout many states and this was one of best. We learned so much, and Betty was a fantastic tour guide. She told us so much information and not only did we learn about the building's history but we also learned about some of the town's history.
You can definitely tell Betty loves to give these tours. This is not just a job for her. Plus, she showed us the best ghost pictures. There was one adult, 4 teens, and 1 child and everyone loved it. We didn't want the tour to end. If you like ghost tours then you definitely need to take this tour.

My daughter and I took the tour on a Sunday afternoon. We actually tried to get on the 3 o'clock tour but it was full so we had to go back at 4. If you want to take the tour at a specific time, you should go early to sign up. The town was quite busy (especially on Saturday) so signing up early is your best bet.
We were happy that we got on the 4 o'clock tour as we were two of six people. Our tour guide Carl said that with a small group like ours, we could take our time and go to many more of the rooms on the second and third floors. The tour was awesome. Carl has so much knowledge that he shared with us and you can tell he really enjoyed sharing with us. This tour was really the highlight of our trip to Virginia City. We watch Ghost Adventures and my daughter liked that we went into the rooms that she saw on the episodes. I would recommend this tour to anyone who visits.

I have been to Virginia City many times , as it is my favorite place to go . I have never been able to tour the Washoe Club though because my kids were little , until today . My oldest son is 13 and he didn’t really want to go because he said and I quote “I don’t believe in ghosts!” but we talked him into going anyways . When we were coming out of the crypt room, he says “Mom, my back is burning “ and me, not a believer in ghosts, said “Ok, stop messing with me!” As I looked at his face, I noticed he was serious, but scared, so I lifted his shirt and there were so many scratch marks I couldn’t believe it ! Every hair stood up on my body ! So needless to say, we are new ghost believers and this place is no joke . If you are a ghost hunter, I recommend this place . Great tour guide also. But as for us , we won’t be back anytime soon. We are way too freaked out now !

Very cool place to visit. Great tour guide ! Worth going to if your into the paranormal and history of the building.

I visited The Washoe Club for some drinks with some friends in June 2013. It was my first time having drinks at this bar, especially in the evening, so wasn't sure what to expect.
The staff was very friendly, loved the atmosphere, the drinks were strong, tasty and inexpensive.
After a couple of drinks we went back to the museum part of the bar, while back there we all had a odd feeling. Many of the pictures we took had "orbs" in them, but the orbs were not on other pictures not taken at the Washoe Club, kind of weird.
I would recommend this bar to all my family and friends, especially if they liked being spooked a little.

I'd been looking at stories of haunted Virginia City, and this looked like a "must see" as we were passing through. The tour certainly didn't disappoint! Although no ghosts or unusual happenings occurred, it was a fascinating look into the history of the town and the purported haunts there. The guide was great at giving spooky details of prior sightings, and the ambiance was fantastic!

I'd seen the Ghost Adventures episodes about the club, so being in the area I had to make the trip. Only $8, you sign up for the tour with the bartender. Carl took me on a solo tour through the condemned building. It was great to learn about the history of Virginia City and the role the Washoe Club played throughout. There is also a spiral staircase featured in Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Carl was able to show pictures of "ghosts" and recordings of voices...if you believe. If nothing else, its fun to meet ghost enthusiasts who flock to this location and tell their stories. And the beer is good, too.

This place is amazing both times I've gone me and several ppl have caught evidence.. may do the overnite trip next.. if ur here check it out.. ghost adventures love this place too!

A great historical tour led by Justin. The place is really haunted and spirits may show up in your photos! A must-see event for your visit to Virginia City.

Just walking in the old time atmosphere wallops you in the face. The tour of the winter storage cript and the haunted upstairs is a kick (literally). Just have fun in VC.

The oldest saloon in Virginia City, with a fun bartender who made great Caesars, and pulled great beers.

The tour guide was good & believable. It was a fun tour & worth the $7.50 for adults. We weren't rushed & could ask as many questions. All ages enjoyed this tour.

if you visit Virginia City, you already love history. If the spirit world is also on your "like" list, you won't be dissapointed in the "millionaires club", aka Washoe Club. If you are lucky enough to have a tour guide who truly loves the place, and has an open mind, you are sure to feel the presence of those who have passed over, and still frequent the place. Even for skeptics, the tour is full of factual history about the club, as it is essential to appreciating Virginia City's colorful past.

I really enjoy the history surrounding Virginia City in its heyday. However, this tour did not cover much of the history of the Washoe Club as it did the paranormal events that apparently have occurred in the building in more recent years. Perhaps of greater interest to folks more into that subject. and a bright afternoon did not seem too conducive to spirit visits. As a museum, the buiding could use restoration and contain more artifacts of the Washoe Club as it operated and whose membership was some of the most wealthy and notable personalities in all of the West.

The Washoe Club is a grand old hotel that housed The Millionaire's Club of Virginia City in the heyday of the silver mining rush. It was great to be able to see the architecture, the original chandeliers, and a little history about the activities within the building and the town. The tour is currently focused, however, on the ghost activity that a TV show documented. While the ghost aspect is interesting, the tour would have been more interesting to me if the guide knew more history about the building and town. Maybe two different tours would be good--one for ghosthunters and another for history buffs.

So much to see, it's like walking back in time. Loved every minute. If you have never been here, then it's time to go. Plan on visiting again.

My husband seen it on Ghost adventures so we went while in the area. The tour guide, Richard was great. Learned a lot about the history of Virginia City and the towns surrounding. My husband had a couple emf blinking lights while Richard was talking about the money that had to go into the place.
Overall, we had a great time with or without ghost!

Great Hotel and Saloon. Staff very friendly with great ghost stories & history of this beautiful old building. Ghost walk was awesome. Our guide was very informative and entertaining. A must do when in Virginia City .

An entertaining tour where we weren't sure whether our tour guide believed the things he was telling us or not. It was a fun experience that we will remember for a long time. We did the tour mainly because we needed to kill time until the roads were passable, but it was really original.

It cost $8.00 for a really fun and interesting (thump, bump) wait... what was that noise? Anyways....go... you will have a good time.

I toured the Washoe Club in Virginia City Nevada on Sept. 8, 2013. If you are looking for a haunted tour this is the one to take. Price of the tour was $8. The tour lasted almost an hour and covered every room but one which was used for storage at the time. Being a paranormal investigator I was looking for the perfect place to tour and I found it. Spirits do come out in daylight as well as dark. I saw shadows bouncing back and forth and trying to peek out at the group. The place is definitely haunted!

The history of this place makes for a fun tour, and you can have a drink in the saloon too! No ghosts on our tour, but it was still fun!

This tour is very much worth the cost. Richard, the tour guide, provides a lot of history along with information about the ghosts who inhabit the Washoe Club. On the 3rd floor, one of the toys left there for a little girl ghost actually started playing music all by itself during our tour. Even the tour guide seemed startled! It was lots of fun and I will definitely take the tour again when I return to this area. Thanks, Richard!

The museum is great. The female bartender was a little crass. To much cussin for me. I do love the place though.

If you enjoy poking around old buildings or hunting for spooky stuff, spend eight bucks and an hour of your time and explore this historic site. There were only four of us on this early tour and we were guided through all the up stair rooms of this onetime club for local millionaires. While taking photos, I leaned over a wall looking down into a cellar in which the townspeople would store dead bodies during the winter. The earth was too frozen to dig graves so they would stack the deceased in this room. When I looked through the viewfinder I clearly saw what appeared to be fast moving light, like fireflies. This happened several times and it wasn't my flash because I hadn't yet hit the button. When I returned home I went onto Youtube Washoe Ghosts and saw videos taken by others who witnessed the same lights in the same cellar. Wish I'd seen the videos before I took the tour. It's fun, informative and cheap. Good way to spend an hour.

We came to Virginia city for the day and just planned to walk around with no particular spots planned. We came across this place and went on the haunted your of the millionaires club upstairs then spent over an hour just talking with the bartender and strangers. Great historical information and welcoming staff.
I highly recommend anyone coming to Virginia city to stop here.

Robyn was the best guide with tons of information and personal experiences! She was our guide for the night and did not disappoint. We had a fun and scary time and managed to capture at least one spooky photo of a little girl in the room with the doll on the rocking chair, if not more when I develop my film! Thank you Robyn you rock!

Virginia City is worth a stop. Yes, it is a bit of a tourist trap but that's OK. The boarded sidewalks, saloons and gift shops are pretty fun. The haunted tour was pretty hokey (I'm a non-believer) but it was still fun.

The Tour guide was knowledgeable gave a history of the club and Virginia City. i took some photos and got orbs or dust and some mist. Not sure what to think of it. My grandson felt like something cold was following him and there were orbs around the children in our group on several occasions. I thought possibly one of the children who passed in the hotel wanted to play! Actually with two 11 year olds who were completely entertained.

If you're a skeptic now, you won't be after you tour this place. I'm fascinated by the history and the experiences of folks who have visited before. Stick around for the stories!

I have been to Virginia City and The Old Washoe Club quite a few times. And every time, I just absolutely love it. Now, to appreciate this historic place, you have to really love and be into the history of the old west and the ghosts. If you're not, well then this place won't be any fun for you. For me, I've had "experiences" since birth and am what you would say "sensitive" and get that "feeling" before I even enter the city. Anyway, we went there for the 4th of July and I wanted to specifically take a tour of the upstairs since they opened it to the public to help raise money for the buildings restoration. A couple years ago the upstairs wasn't open to the public, and now it is, and I can see the dramatic improvement in tourism since they made that decision. (A good one.) I also think that the Ghost Adventures show helped to bring more tourism to the city- which was very much needed... Anyway, we took an 8:00 PM 40 minute ghost tour of the upstairs with a knowledgable tour guide and it was very interesting and exciting!! The tour guide was very friendly and spoke loud and clear enough to handle a group of more than 20 people. He gets the feel of the crowd by asking the crowd if they prefer information on history or more on ghosts and goes from there. He also takes into consideration if there are children in the crowd so he doesn't make any inappropriate comments (giving the Washoe Club's notoriety). Overall, it was a fantastic experience and am very interested in coming back to do a more formal investigation at night. I hope the Washoe Club raises the money it needs to do the restoration. We see the improvement in tourism overall in this city and we support you guys! See you again soon! :-)
Thanks!!!
Michelle

If you are a history person and love the paranormal this is a good place to visit. The tour goes every hour into the evening. We did a day tour and I have loads of orbs in my photos. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun.

My husband and I took our kids to Virginia City for a small family vacation and decided to visit the Washoe again. We were going to go on the 8pm tour, but decided against it since most of the tour would be in the dark.....not smart unless you really want to be scared and bigger possibility of paranormal things happening to you. We ended up going on the afternoon tour the next day and there was a huge group of people that was on the tour with us. As always the history of the club is very interesting and intriguing - but since it was so crowded I felt like the tour guide really rushed us through the tour and focused more on the paranormal aspect than the actually history of the club. This place is pure evil, let me just say.....at one point of the tour my daughter just stepped into a room that supposedly has the evil bartender spirit in it and before the guide told us about him, my daughter was doubled over feeling sick and ready to vomit, as soon as she got out of that room she felt better. My husband felt a huge gust of wind standing next to her too. My shirt was tugged on in another room, but I dismissed it. We got many pics of orbs and then one pic of my husband with an interesting object on his hat! It's a real pic from our camera and it was taken in the "coat check" room of the Washoe. No one was near him and it was NOT on his hat in this room. Very interesting!!!! Not sure if we will be returning to this tour. Tooooo scary.....

I've been here a couple of times and have done the haunted tour. Just stopped here for a quick drink as we toured the town. The ghost tour is well worth it and very enjoyable

I had a great first time tour of the Washoe Club with Halen. He was very professional and knowledgeable of the club and Virginia City history. For a question he didn't know, he researched before I left, which is above and beyond for most tour guides.

As huge "Ghost Adventures" fans and members of a paranormal group, we had to tour this building. The tour guide, Rick, was great! He offered us a choice between a historical tour, paranormal tour, or combination of both. We opted for a combination and got a great mix of history and paranormal information. This building has a fascinating history and it's good to see that they're trying to renovate it. Definitely worth the $8 per person especially knowing the money is being used to work on the building.

Our group of nine family members took the tour. The price was reasonable and it seemed like a good way to pass the time on our recent trip to Virginia City.
At the beginning of the tour, the guide asked if any of us had seen the show Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel. The show evidently filmed some episodes at the Washoe Club. Only one member of our group had watched the show, so clearly we weren't visiting this site because of its connection to the TV series.
Consequently, it seems the guide focused his discussion on the history of the place, with ample references to the alleged paranormal activity but without sensationalizing any of the ghost stories. From my perspective, this made the tour more interesting and it made the guide's ghost stories sound more credible. One might assume that, had we been followers of the TV show, the guide would have adjusted his talk accordingly.
The building, which was once a gentlemen's club catering to the likes of Ulysses S. Grant and Mark Twain, later became a boarding house. The upper floors are uninhabitable these days, and the tour leads guests through the wreckage, while highlighting both the history of the various rooms as well as the paranormal activity that folks have experienced in these rooms. The guide did all he could to make the tour interesting. He is a well-traveled expert in haunted places, and has authored a small book detailing his experiences. At the end of the tour, he hawked the book and autographed copies for those in our group who purchased them.

Tour was fun and informative. We're big fans of the Ghost Adventures T.V. show, and found out they had been there one week prior to our visit. Watching the video footage of their first investigation there just added to the creepy feeling. My husband caught something weird on camera. Still trying to figure out what it is! Overall and fun (and not so scary) tour.

Tour guide was great! Information was interesting and the guide showed us some awesome paranormal photos. My kids even loved it, the tour guide was able to keep their attention and was so entertaining. I can’t wait to go back and rent the club out for the night!

I have been on this tour so many times I cant count. The last time we went, it was a new tour guides first day (I cant remember her name) She was nervous (her mom was there) but did a wonderful job telling the tales of years gone by. The history of the building is fascinating. The hotel is definitely creepy. Ive heard boots on the staircase, and what sounded like a dime rolling down the stairs. The rest of the group was in the ballroom and I was standing still over the stairs. Very cool unexplainable experiences happen on the tour. This is not a Halloween haunted house. They do not set up props to fly out at you. A must see when in Virginia City.

We took a tour with Halen who was very informative. He relayed a lot of the history and ghostly sightings from either the Ghost Hunters or from other customers photos taken. The history of this building dates back to 1875. Many well known elites of the time paid homage to this location as well as it’s Saloon. Many years later it was also home to many other types of businesses.
The small museum also holds some interesting artifacts as well. Halen was a great tour guide and answered any questions & showed locations of other sightings, which there are many. I caught a blue smoky figure up the front stairs, that Is no longer used for safety reasons, I know was not there at the time of taking it. I ran into one of the other lady’s on tour with us and she showed me her photo she had taken and you can clearly see a young girl peeking over from the 3rd floor, the children’s floor, looking down at us. I have a similar photo minus the girl. Another heard music as we were touring to only hear the same song when a music box was turned on by Harlen. All in All it was a great tour for a low price. Virginia City is truly filled with a lot of history.

Saw an angry male spirit on top of 3rd floor stairs. A shadow man following us. The lady in blue on the stairwell. Spirit of little boy wants to be called Mikey. Chest pains in the crypt ( had to take nitro to get rid of it ) our tour guide Richard was knowledgeable and respectful knowing better than to create an unsafe situation by provoking. Thank you Richard.

What a great tour with such interesting 'creepy' history! Fun for all ages. Highly recommend it for everyone. Very affordable prices. Honestly, I think the should charge more! It was worth it!

Guide was nice and gave a personal tour; he had interesting stories. There is really nothing to see in the old "club" - a lot of decay but you can see they are trying to restore the property in a proper manner.

We were not disappointed with our tour of this historic building which is undergoing restoration. Just entering the stairwell to gain access to the upper floors immediately transports you back in time. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the building and the spirits that continue to roam throughout the hallways and rooms. Original wallpaper, woodwork and doorknobs are still present in some areas and we had enough time and leeway to take numerous photographs. This building is well known for its' resident spirits because of numerous visits from celebrity ghost hunters and the documentation which has been televised. I was amazed by the number of orbs I was able to catch during my visit. I returned later in the evening to spend more time in the infamous "Crypt" located in rear of the saloon and had the pleasure of meeting Bret Robards who is very actively involved in the restoration of the building and is an active ghost hunter. My friends and I will be returning to The Old Washoe Club because -I would take the tour again just to hear Bret's personal stories of his encounters with the past.

We went here on our honeymoon and visited the Washoe Hotel and took the tour. It was very eerie and sad all at the same time. The history that took place inside this hotel was amazing and very interesting. I wish it could be seen as it was back in that time. They have no pics of what it used to look like. You can only imagine what it was as you walk through the empty destructive rooms. I would not recommend this for children because they do talk about ghosts and the mysterious things that have happened there. It is definitely a must see for history buffs and for those seeking to find paranormal activity. You may just find it here.

My husband and I were taking the tour mainly to see the building and hear the history and the ghost stories were just a added expierence. I enjoyed all of it very much it was so interesting. I was not expecting anything other than people with the desire to see something and make it happen in their mind. I did think it was very odd that my cell phone that I was using for a camera was very hot the entire time that I was there and not hot as soon as I left. As we were leaving we stopped to look at the famous beautiful spiral staircase one of the people on the tour asked if we wanted our pic taken and he took it..After viewing it it did in deed have a orb if not two wow that surprised me.... I was sooo glad we took the tour

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this tour and the guide, Carl. He was a wealth of information and very entertaining. We saw lots of Orbs, no ghosts, but the tour was well worth the time. A big thanks to the Washoe Club for a great afternoon.

I had been here before but this time took my sister who loves ghost hunting. We took a day tour and a night tour. They told us there are no night tours, but when we took an evening ghost tour of the town, we were then told for an extra fee we could to into the Washoe after dark. It was pretty cool. I caught orbs and a mist. It is fun even if you don't believe.

Great time there. Great Historic Site in a Lovely enviroment. Town is quaint and exciting at the same time...Lots of history, beautiful scenery...Love It

My family and I went on the guided tour. The guide was pretty good, but I have just one suggestion: Please wait until all the tour guests have entered whichever room they are following you into, before beginning your explanation of the history, etc. The people filing in behind the first few don't get a chance to hear what's being said because they aren't in the room yet. It almost seemed like the tour was exclusively for the 3 or 4 people closest to the guide. Just a thought! ;)
Also, we were told that for $400 groups could stay overnight, presumably for investigation purposes. But some of the people on the tour said they were going to sign up for this option and were planning to bring lots of pizza and beer and party stuff. That place is an accident waiting to happen if you turn a bunch of people in there to drink. I don't think alcohol (or smoking) should be allowed on these overnight events. And I am not sure, but I think the overnights are unsupervised.

We took the tour , our guide was on one of the Ghost Adventures episodes. He was spooky enough to enhance the tour, but not so weird that it made us uncomfortable. It was interesting to hear about the wild history of the building and the town and we had a spike on the EMF detector!! A good tour in town.

me my daughter and my grandson had a very intimate tour with a great tour guide! the only down side is there are stairs wich for some could make it difficult.

The museum is at the back of Washoe bar.
The very back stone room was used to store bodies
of those that died in the cold winter months until the
spring thaw.
Kreepy!

The tour was a great overview of the history of Virginia City and the structures on the main street. We participated in the nighttime tour of the upper floors of the Old Washoe Club. The guide was outstanding and pointed out interesting details of the building. Several teen members of the party didn't want to continue- they were too scared! If you take this tour of the upper floors, bring a digital voice recorder or use the video on your cellphone. Captured some weird moans that were definitely shocking! Cool!

We had a drink at the bar, and when looking around saw the museum entrance and a tour just ending. We spoke to the guide and he described a lot of the paranormal things that went on in the building. I love looking at old buildings and this doesn't disappoint. The guide ( who is also a paranormal investigator) had lots of great stories about the history and the ghost encounters. Well worth the 8 bucks!

What a fun piece of history this location is. Filled with lots of history, ghost stories/paranormal experiences, great food and drinks plus amazing informed tour guides.

My kids are big fans of Ghost Adventures, so when we went to Virginia City to visit for the day they really wanted to take the tour.
We had a blast! Our tour guide was AWESOME, and appeared to really enjoy what he does. We were very sad that we didn't get to see any ghosts, but we had a great time.
We did go in the middle of the day, so it did get a bit hot especially up on the third floor. You do have to be able to climb up several flights of stairs, but well worth it.

The entire town of Virginia City is a must visit due to all the awesome History, and one of the pinnacle locations which is an absolute must is the Washoe Club Haunted Tour. It is not too scary, the History is amazing, and the tour is a great experience for kids as well, my three kids ages 6,7, 12, loved it. Just so much Historical relevance, and the tour guide is highly knowledgeable and just overall amazing. I highly recommend this tour, and while you are there be sure to have a "Blue Lady" from the Bar. We will be back again for sure.

Had a great tour guide. I had never been in a building that old with so much history. The history of this place was a awesome.

The tour guide was very informative and charismatic. The history of the building was the most interesting to me. I don't know if I believe in all the ghost stories. It was a really cool tour.

I'm obsessed with the paranormal, what better activity to do while visiting an old western town like Virginia City than to take a haunted ghost tour. Our guide Betty was fabulous! Great sense of humor! The best thing is you can rent an EVF for 5$...

We did this tour just tonight. We took our 2 children aged 6-10 and they loved it. Our tour guide new all the history. It was a little daunting at first walking up the stairs in the dark but the tour guide delivered the stories and history in such a way that we were not creeped out at all.
Our kids were abit scared in the beginning but loved it by the end. Its not for the faint hearted. At one point when our guide was telling us about the whiskey bottles that were found under the floor boards, we could smell a very strong old whiskey alcoholic smell. The room was very cold at the time.
When we got home we uploaded our photos onto the computer and we have a number of photos with orbs in it.
A lady with us on the tour had a device that looked for paranormal activity so I just kept clicking where the activity was strong on her device and we have some orbs on our photos.
The history that goes with the ghost stories is fascinating. Definitely worth a visit. Don't miss it and even take your kiddies if you think they can handle it. My kids insisted on buying the book and getting Karl to sign it. They are reading it now very fascinated with this aspect of life.

This place is a must see for anyone who loves the paranormal, or just loves and old ghost town saloon, in general. Jennifer (Bartender/Manager) is fantastic. So friendly, and so welcoming! We had a group of 8 that rented out the Washoe over night for a paranormal investigation.....and it was one of the best times we have ever had. We stayed over night (this place is definitely haunted) but prior we had drinks and snacks within' and just soaked up the atmosphere. Everything is affordable....it's the small town america feel. I highly recommend this place. If you become a Washoe Club Member you get discounts on drinks (it pays for itself) and special discounts on merchandise and events. If you plan on going once a year it definitely pays for itself. We love going down to Reno for a day or two and then over to Virginia City. It's one of our favorite getaways!

We took the tour of this place last summer, but spent a good amount of time investigating it during the 2017 VC Paracon. We have captured evidence and had personal experiences here and am excited to plan our next trip and possibly book and overnight. There is a lot of history to the Comstock and the Washoe Club holds a lot of it. The place is alive with energy.

My 13 year old stepdaughter... A self proclaimed lover of ghosts, had a blast on this tour. And even though I'm a skeptic... I did as well. The tour is about 30 minutes long and takes you through the two top floors of the Old Washoe Club. Our tour guide, Carl was very passionate and knowledgeable about the grounds and about any/ all experiences paranormal related. Now, as I've said, I'm a bit of a skeptic... But I could swear that when Carl was telling us about a young spirit named Ella, I felt something I couldn't explain brush against my arm. My stepdaughter explained it might just be Ella saying hello to me because I might have reminded her of someone she once knew...

Came back for our anniversary, it is somewhat commercialized now with the ghost hunter thing. But nice bartenders and cold beer!

We decided to do the paranormal tour and weren't disappointed. When we started out on the second floor, just as he was about to talk I thought I heard some knocking behind me toward the rear of the hallway by the stairs.
One of our dogs we took in with us backed up several times with his tail tucked in.
Then there's the creepy doll. Brrrrrrr
Don't forget to meet Stiffy!
All in all pretty cool place to see. Lots of history shared with us along with some creepy photos and an evp.
Great time here!

I decided to take the Ghost Tour at the Washoe and was so glad I did. Carl did a an entertaining job relaying a lot of history about Virginia City while helping the "ghosts" come to life in his story-telling way.... A lot of fun!

We took one of the tours that went to the second and third floors and the crypt. It was fun to hear all of the ghost stories. We may have gotten a picture of a ghost on the spiral staircase too - creepy!

Little kids should not go on this tour, they will get bored. Interesting at first, then carried on for too long. Nothing paranormal occurred.

My son took a group of us ghost hunting and he caught The Blue Lady, a famous ghost of a prostitute, on camera. My son the non-believer.

Great place, great place for a great drink, staff great, old time Viriginia City, tons of history, will come back!!

Had a blast. Joined the club. Had free drinks for a few hours, then an investigation the rest of the night. Good people!

We took the tour expecting to see something. This is of course Virginia City! Well we didn't see or feel anything, but got a better appreciation for what the buildings historical value was. The tour group did their best to bring out the ghost, but it seems Big Jack Davis was too tired to spook that day. The building however has a rich history of wealth catering to the richest men in the valley. When the great fire hit the area in 1875, the City did everything they could to save the building, including blowing up a church! Amazing history and lots of fun walking thru an old structure where the likes of John Piper or Mark Twain once frequented. Sure you'll look for the spirits of long ago like I did, but listen to the guide and you'll learn more about the City than how Hollywood portrayed the Bonanza. The tour guide stated they hope to restoore the old building, I hope they do! A bucket listing checked off, enjoy the tour!

Popularized by Ghost Adventures, we went looking for ghosts, but the history was just as interesting. Neat old building, interesting tour. I'd say its a place you should see.

The tour guide was great. It was neat to learn some the history of Virginia City. It’s not too scary

This place is spooky. Although it did not happen to me, my daughter happened to get orbs on half of the pictures she took in the Washoe. Thanks Zak B. for letting us know about this place.

We loved our tour - and the photos of the ghostly "lady in the blue dress" were great, and taking photos in the crypt was amazing - so many orbs!! Definitely worth checking out if you like this sort of thing - and we do!!

This was a great tour not only for the paranormal activity but for the history of the building. We captured some orbs and rods on our photos/video. It was worth the price.

Visited here with my father, and it was an amazing experience. We had a couple of the signature drinks, took in the museum in the back room, and did the historical / ghost tour of the upper floors. The host for the tour was knowledgeable, funny, and friendly. Highly Recommend!

Very cool deal. The tour was very informative and our guide was great. This place has a very interesting story behind it. If you like paranormal activity this is your place or if you just like history you will enjoy. The top two story's are under renovation but still cool. The museum is interesting and the bar is great

The tour of the washoe club is amazing and the tour guides are awesome! Thank you for the great time!

I turned up by myself to view the building while passing through the area. Decided to pay $8 for a tour of the building as I've got an interest in the paranormal. All i can say is it's one of the best tours I've ever had. Halen was the most knowledgeable of guides and shared his experiences as well as recalling the history of the building and area. Very informative, an amazing building and super friendly people. No experiences while there but didn't need one. You should pay for the tour, it's more than worth it. Thanks Halen!

I have been to the old washoe club many times and I love it! This review is only because of the tour guide. This last visit, the female tour guide (she has blue hair, I didn’t catch her name) was very rude. Shockingly rude. Every time I’m in town, I do this tour and it’s always a good time. But she rushed the tour and if you tried to say anything, she would shoot you down and tell you to be quiet.

interesting story but did not feel anything spooky during tour at noon; was shown quite a few photos with orbs by guide

Going through the tour, you'll find a lot of history in the stories. Not furnished or nothing to sit on, but it's a quick tour that goes by fast. The history and stories are engaging.

We only had a few hours to kill in Virginia City before we had to fly out, so we were looking to get the most out of our limited time. We decided to visit the Washoe Club because I had read here that the guides do a good job of discussing the overall history of the town as well as the club. We were not disappointed! The tour was fantastic at introducing us to the history of Virginia City, the history of the building, and in mixing in the ghost stories. Even the members of our party who didn't want to go on the tour because they thought that "it would be stupid" were very impressed by the time it was over. During the tour, our guide (and self-proclaimed 20-year ghost hunter) showed us creepy "ghost" pictures on his phone that he or other tour groups had taken in the rooms we were in. It was a great time!

It was a very spooky place, but the guide was fun & knowledgeable.I would do it again! As a fan of Ghost adventures I would recommend it if you are as well

My son and I decided to take the tour today even though we've been on it before. Our tour guide was Halen and he was very informative and knowledgeable. He told us things in regards to the history of the Washoe and Virgina City that we had never heard before.
We had a very good time.

Had drinks before the tour started at the bar it has charm without a doubt. Drinks are decently priced small museum in the back that is all ghost adventures and not much else. The tour began with a walk through the house great history but is currently being remolded so all the rooms are empty. Guide was very good told ghost stores about other tours being messed with. Which is the normal for tours nothing ever happens on the one your on but all the other tours were crazy scary. If you like history take the tour other than that it's a discussion about ghost adventures and not much else.

nice knowing a lot about the towns history, it was fun!
I took photos for fun, and when I got home I did see things in the photo's
I found a girl at the top of the stairwell that was holding stuffed animals
this wasn't a live person !

They don't really focus on the museum part on the first floor, but quickly kick off the tour in the "crypt." From there you explore the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building. They encourage photos, and if you do this at night, beware, the only light source is your phone or the flashlight from the guide. This was our favorite part of our whole trip! The guide was friendly and built an atmosphere of suspense with telling his own experiences and giving history of the building. He leads you through each room, and it certainly got us spooked. Luckily you can have a drink afterward to calm your nerves.

My wife loved the tour but then she's into ghost stories. The stories could be interesting but more concentration on the history and better descriptions of the buildings and their architecture would have been more to my liking. The old saloon downstairs was visibly interesting with the oak bar and backbar, old mouldings, and brass chandeliers and the small museum in the back was OK.
The building is being restored---very slowly---and presumably ultimately furnished but there's not much but empty rooms in various states of repair and disrepair. Untl more work is done I wouldn't return although my wife may opt to take a paranormal tour.

We come up to our "Home away from Home" as we call it very often !! When we get into town we cant get to the Washoe Club fast enough! Its the most awesome place to sit and hang. Barry and Louise are awesome bartenders and always make us feel right at home:) We've also taken the Ghost tour half a dz times with Carl ,and it never gets old , always new things to discover !! I could go on & on about how much I love this place , its the BEST!! Until next time..

We toured the Washoe Club Haunted Museum and it was really interesting..this old building is awesome..we got some really interesting pictures and some appeared to be of people not in our tour group...great experience

This was a fun tour through the Washoe Club. In it's day, it must have been quite merry. However, now it is considered haunted. We tried to egg out the ghosts while there, but they didn't show. Others have said otherwise. Maybe they were just not in the mood. Our guide was very informative. I took pictures of the spiral staircase and later noticed that the blue lady is in those photos. I'll have to dig around for that pic. Pretty cool. Interesting tour.

This will be a little lengthy, and I want to preface this with the fact that me and my husband are not professional ghost hunters and this was only our 2nd time 'investigating'. This was last year, for my husband and mines 5th anniversary.
We didn't plan on it, we just wanted to stop in for a beer and look at the Ghost Adventures poster. As we were sitting at the bar, enjoying a beer and smoke, we overheard the bartender (who was very nice and welcoming) talk about the Ghost Tour that would be starting soon.
Tickets were $5 a piece, and we could take our beer. It was mid-day, on a weekday, so there was only 1 other couple with us. We only had our cell phones on us (like I said, the tour was not planned) and so we had to work with it.
I have a galaxy note II, so my phone was designated to take pictures, and my husband was on audio recording duty. I will try to timeline our weird (some may or may not be paranormal) encounters.
The entire first 20 pictures I took, there was a misty/smoke object in every picture. I tried cleaning my camera (smoking is reserved to bar area, and we were not near bar area), I could not see on my phone while taking picture, only after it was taken, and it suddenly disappeared once we got passed the first room.
The rest of the tour went without a hitch, until the end when you get back to the first room and are allowed to look around on your own. My husband and I went back into the room where bodies were once stored. It has a door, so we closed it and began a small evp session. Soon after starting, with our own ears we heard a rock thrown at the other end of the room. Not being a professional, I immediately walked out.
We hung around for a little bit and looked at all the historical things they have on display, and went back to our hotel to review the audio and all my pictures.
We caught quite a few things on audio- including a young girl saying 'Dance with me, mama's not home, dance..'
On photo, I didn't catch a lot, but there is 2 pictures taken back to back, where you can see something changed in the hallway but I can't figure out what it is. My friends say it looks like something crawling on the ground, I say it just looks like a misty form starting, can't quite say- and we don't have the skills to change anything in the photo to help clear the image up (change color, etc.)
Anyway, if you would like to hear our evp's / see pics, email paranormalkat {at} outlook {dot} com

The Washoe Club is famous for being haunted. A few of the ghost hunting shows have investigated the club. I really enjoyed looking at the haunted museum and going on the ghost tour. Our tour guide was full of history and even wrote a book about it. I would recommend it to any history and haunted history buff.

If you make a trip to see Virginia City (please do - very historic town and beautiful place), be sure to stop in and see the Washoe Club. It is the oldest saloon in Virginia City. They play up the haunted aspect of the place but the history of it should be enough of a reason to visit. They have a small museum inside for a fee (buy a soft drink or drink and it's free) and they also do tours every couple of hours for a fee (tour includes the museum for free). Be sure to stop in. You'll enjoy it. The staff member we spoke with when we visited was extremely hospitable as well.

We enjoyed the history of the building. The different eras of the building shown by layers of wallpaper all the way back to the original decor. The guide presented a good history of the building, the town and the local area. She talked about the historic characters and events that formed Virginia City. It was a little scary and she mixed in some good play on words for humor.

Didn't see or hear any ghosts, but there were plenty of stories and a pretty elaborate Ghost Adventurers setup in the back. You do get to walk into the dark storage area and shut the door. It's very cold and a bit spooky. Be sure to leave the light on.

Went to Washoe Club last saturday, and Halen is amazing! The tour was fantastic....the energy is so heavy you can feel it! It actually took my breath away at one point...would I do it again, heck yes, but next time, I want to stay and do the ghost hunting at night! Thank you Halen for an amazing tour!

My friend and I did an investigation after hours at the Washoe Club last year. It was completely creepy and ominus right from the moment we opened the door(which actually creaked when we opened it). Of course it was dark, so we had to use flashlights only. We were there about 5 hrs. We paid for the entire night, but we were pretty tired since we had just driven up from L.A. that day. We had a very odd situation happen to us. We were listening to one of our audio recorders as we were changing batteries in some of our equipment. As we were talking and changing the batteries with the recorder playing in the background, we realized it was picking up and recording our conversation as we were listening to it! That was really freaky. Of course we checked to make sure we were not "recording" but actually using "playback". It was definitely in playback/listening mode. I have no explanation for it. I guess that's why it's called paranormal. .
This place has a definite heavy feel to it. When we walked in it was like "they" knew we were there. Oh, and by the way, we rented it again. We'll be going back in 3 weeks.

Although I don’t believe in hauntings , it was fun to see the old building and learn about some of the history. The tour guide was excellent very knowledgeable and energetic.

We took the tour and at 8.00 a person is so affordable and the guide of the tour tells a lot about the history make sure you buy his book, we plan on staying the night as a group and do our own investigating, my friend and I when tour was down hung out in the crept room where 77 bodies were stored and turned light off and we just were talking however as you will here something growled over our conversation as we did not hear it until we went back to our recorder and heard this, and then I took pictures after around my friend and watched orbs all around her, sad to think bodies were stacked in coffins awaiting to be buried come spring because of the ground in the winter was frozen and no Graves could be dug. This tour we will always go too, and again afforable. Thank you as we are locals and can not wait to make plans for an over night stay. Want to hear the growl be my friend on facebook, I could not put it on here.

We've been to the Washoe club many times. So we were really excited to go on this tour. I'd say save your money it isn't that great. All the rooms are empty, there's no furniture or furnishings in any of these rooms. The guide explains to you what it must have been like back in the day. Because no one really knows what the old Washoe club looked like. We didn't have any paranormal experiences. I wouldn't recommend the museum either, it's all about Zack and Aaron and Nick.

They advertise that they had the best Bloody Mary's in town and so we sat at the huge old time bar and enjoyed two of them. They didn't lie!!! They hold tours of the haunted hotel upstairs every hour on the hour.

I have taken the tour twice. I won a Veterans photo contest with one of my shots from trip #1. I got Orbs on trip #2. Both of the tour guides were great. Cant wait for trip # 3. Worth every penny.

On the 2nd day of a 3 day Bachelor Party Weekend trip we went up to Virginia City, to see the sights, and drink at all the saloons. We went on this tour, it was interesting. Didn't get scratched by a ghost as it happened earlier in that day with a previous party, but it was an interesting tour. The creepiest part was seeing the crypt. I will admit that certain parts of the hotel felt cooler than other....spooky.

I had been to the Washoe Club before but never when the top two floor were open so of course I jumped on the chance to check the rest of the place out. The sights were great and the tour guide was passionate and knowledgeable. If you are a paranormal investigator this is a great spot to go; there were many cold spots and as I was descending the stairs at the completion of the tour I heard footsteps coming down the stairs behind me...I was the last one in line! Half way through the tour my phone completely died even though my battery was at 60 percent which is a great sign of paranormal activity. Lots of fun and very informational. Okay to take small children on since there are no simulated scares.

Nice tour, reasonably priced. It was cool to walk the same floors as Virginia City's most wealthy did years ago. Wouldn't surprise me if Mark Twain was in this place a time or two while he lived in Virginia City. My daughter took a few pictures during the tour and one picture had an unexplained "Orb" in it. All during the tour, we had a feeling that something else was in the rooms with us, also taking the tour. Some TV ghost hunters visited this place a few years back and found some activity. Will you too?

I went on a tour and Bette was our tour guide it was the week (June 24 to be exact when I was there) Ghost Adventures was in town. I have been on her tours several times when I visited! The excitement and energy of the Washoe Club was over the top! I got to meet Zak Bagans it was the highlight of my trip honestly but the Washoe Club was of course full of Paranormal activity that day! I would have to disagree it was hokey tour as I got activity and got my evidence as a paranormal investigator I was excited to get it on video you would have to be into this stuff to understand. Bette was articulate and told a lot about the activities that have happened and the history of the Washoe! She was awesome and I will be back no doubt as always! If you like Paranormal Washoe is a place to go and go on a tour with Bette you will not be disappointed. I would recommend bringing an EMF if you would like to get some activity or they have them for rental at the bar.. = )

We came today to do the meet and greet with Nick Groff. It was wonderful plus we did the ghost tour, washoe club, and it lead us through a absolutely fabulous tour with Abigail from Aberdeen. She had the best wit of any tour guide!! We really got to experience all the Washoe Club had to offer. I Highly recommend going not only is it cool but very educational in history. Book a vacation now!! It's worth it :)

Always have a great time here. Great bartenders, fun and interesting exhibits. Great place to hang out!

We enjoyed hearing not only the stories about the spirits in the Washoe Club, but also the information about the building itself. I had a few experiences which I'm not sure of, such as my camera clicking and changing settings all by itself in the room where the "shadow man" had been seen on "Ghost Adventures". The bartender in the saloon had stories to tell also about the spirits moving bottles around. Worth the money to see this.

Amazing how it's done in real-time vs TV!
We had an great time, no paranormal feeling, but that's ok!
I know we will be returning! Thanks Betty!!

Ghosts are just not my thing, which I admit may have affected my overall enjoyment of the tour. I did, however, enjoy visualizing the lifestyle of the era when the building was at its height of popularity. The tour guide was okay but not very convincing with her ghost stories. I would recommend finding a better way to use an hour in Virginia City.

Great place to have a drink then do the tour. Keep in mind you can see the museum and stone room (crypt) in the back without doing the tour. Tour was worth the $10 but might be a bit unexciting for those that don't buy into the whole ghost/supernatural thing. If you are tight on time (or money) and aren't a Ghost enthusiast, you wouldn't be sorry you missed this but otherwise I'd say it's definitely in the top 4 things to do in this little historic town.

Took the tour this afternoon and we really enjoyed it. The guide is very knowledgeable and has lots of interesting stories and history. I have to admit that I was very skeptical before the tour but now can't wait to go back and try one of the special night time events. Check it out - bargain price and lots of fun.

Even if you don't believe in ghosts like I do, you should take the tour to see all the architecture. It's amazing how someplace that looks so small can actually be so large - almost like the Doctor's TARDIS. Kevin is the best tour guide I've ever had.
I've actually been on the tour three times and can't wait to go again. I don't think you can post links on Trip Advisor but if you'd like to see my photos look up JamiSings on Flickr and check out my albums.

Great Place loved it.....I loved the Washoe Club....So interesting lots of histroy....
I love the Paranormal.
The tour guides are great

My husband saw the Washoe Club on Ghost Adventures so we decided to check it out. The tour starts in the old morgue which is creepy all on its own (not to mention the morgue is near where the restrooms are located so be prepared for that). We didn't experience much paranormal activity on our tour but toward the end we were told about the "mean" ghost that haunts one room. When we went in there every kid started crying (the kids that were on our tour were under 2 years old so I doubt any faking was going on). Once the parents took their children out of the room, they all stopped crying. Definitely bizarre. It's a fun experience!

Visited the washoe saloon way b4 it was a museum and took several pictures ithe back room.. lots of orbs everywhere But this picture is one picture I will never never forget and is still a picture we all talk about still!! I didn’t need ghost adventures!!

Very interesting old building - with a lot of history associated with it. Frankly, I would tour the building for that aspect. That being said, it is reportedly haunted as well. I took a tour during the day and found it interesting. Have yet to check my pictures for spirits...at any rate...apparently people who are interested can spend the night in that place. Sounds really creepy (and more than potentially frightening), but to each their own. I would tend to go for the historical aspect instead of the ghosts - that way, you won't be disappointed. Dusty as old, semi-abandoned buildings tend to be...

First let me say I don't believe in ghosts but the tour beckoned. A measly $8 and it gives you $1 off a souvenir or a drink following the tour. Carl, our guide, was most informative and had some funny and some more serious tales to tell. The building is almost perfectly presented in a state of disrepair. The evidence of spirits presented is most interesting and hearing that you can rent it out for an overnight stay is tantalizing. I think I would like to attend one of their "ghost hunts". A well spent hour (even though they tell you 45 minutes. Fun. Can't wait to take others there as Virginia City was a great way to spend a Sunday.

I'm disappointed to see no activities entry for the Washoe Club. Being a fan of paranormal destinations, this place was on our list of must see locations.
We first heard about this building from watching episodes of Ghost Adventures. Though the hosts are bombastic and a little challenged, some of the evidence they obtained at this location was tantalizing.
We spent $8 apiece for a daylight walk through of all 3 levels of this historic building. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable in regards to the spaces we walked through. She encouraged us to take as many photos as we could, in the hopes of catching ghostly apparitions.
A card carrying skeptic, I snapped pics to humor my girlfriend while we continued the 30+ minute walkthrough. After finishing the tour with our gracious host, we strolled through their 'museum' which was a little hokey and not too compelling. Later, while reviewing the dozens of photos we each took, I saw some anomolies that couldn't be explained. Primarily, a blue mist that appeared in several of my photos. Looking through them again, later, I found what seems to be a figure in 2 of the pictures. It was at this time, I recalled our guide telling us that you can rent out the entire building, overnight, for a very reasonable fee. We are now planning a group trip there, next spring for the very purpose of confronting the unknown.
At the end of the day, I applaud the group trying to preserve and restore this historic site. The money they take in is applied to keeping this paranormal question mark in good enough shape for skeptics like me.
Well worth the price of admission!

Barry, the Bar Manager, makes everyone feel at home with his humor and his love of the bar. Been going there for years and it is never disappointing. The tour of the upstairs is a must see, keep in mind for entertainment purposes only.

I did a paranormal investigation and it was amazing got good evidence and the updates are very nice. Theyre cleaning it up quite a bit.

It’s a neat tour. A lot of walking into over 30 rooms. The building smells a bit but if you like history and ghosts I highly recommend it.

I was feeling a creepy during the tour. Great tour. Neat history ..
Loved it...anyway I stopped in the wine room during the tour,
it was dark ..
The tour walked to the next location, I stayed behind with my
girlfriend.. I asked "is there anyone here?" I waited about 3 seconds
in silence, Then I heard something shuffling in the corner of the room.
I got so scaredI Turned to my girlfriend, she ran off scared...
My heart was beating so fast From fear.. I ran back to the tour.
People on the tour knew I looked shaken. That was a great !! but scary
Experience. I would go back . Skip the questions
This time hehe.. Don't forget to visit the cemetery on the way out of town.
Another creepy place for a walk.

Another old bar in Virginia City Nevada. Acclaimed for the amount of millionaire who frequented the bar during the Virginia City silver and gold rush.
Hanker up to the bar and choose your poison. Lol
Some say it's haunted!

Halen was AMAZING. I had no idea this tour would be the best part of the entire trip. Great history lessons, amazing stories and paranormal evidence. Will absolutely be back again!

Had a great time. Sat at the bar and walked through the haunted museum. Staff was super nice and being a history buff and into the paranormal world this is definitely the place to visit!

Great activity in Virginia City. Our guide (Halen) was super knowledgeable and entertaining. Our kids (8 and 10) were definitely a little creeped out, and even in broad daylight (we did the 1 pm tour) I had a couple of goosebump moments. Some of the stories are a little dark, if you have sensitive little ones, but our kids had fun. Even if you’re a complete skeptic (my husband) the history is fascinating, and thus worth the admission.

We did the tour and it was pretty COOL! honestly I didn't expect to capture anything in the photo's I took, BUT! to my surprise, I did. I have uploaded the photo for all of you to view. I was in the ballroom and snapped a picture of the windows that overlooked, I think the spiral staircase. The window on the left has a women peaking out looking at us, and standing behind her is a man. The middle window has several things happening in it. But one that stood out the most was the little girl Ella, well...I think it is probably her, she's on the right of the window, it's like she's leaning up against the frame. Any who it's an awesome building, so much amazing historical artifacts and history, it was neat to see and learn about. I can't wait to come back and do the tour with my husband.

Our visit offered a unique perspective of the Wild West as well as a clever tour of the history of the area surrounding Virginia City. Lots of ghost stories are something I like, and it's one of many reasons tourists flock to VC every year.

This was a neat place to go. A lot of history about the town and what the club was all about. We didn't see anything on our though.

Not a bad visit. Didn't expect much considering it's an old building with ghost stories. It was nice to see the different types of structures in the house and be in a place that's been filmed many times by ghost hunters. It's cool to have stories to tell. The town is mostly a bar with silly shops but things like this make the stoo worth it.

This was one of our favorite things we did in Virginia City, if not THE favorite. Tours are every hour on the hour starting at noon. Tour was $8 per adult. They say it's a 30 minute tour but our guide, Betty, took us around for a good hour and we saw every single room on the 2nd and 3rd floors. It's a neat place in both a historical and paranormal sense. There's definitely a creepy vibe, but even if you're not into that, you'll enjoy the history.

I love the Washoe Club! The haunted museum is good for anyone who like to see old haunted buildings and are fans of Ghost Adventures. Make sure to take the Haunted tour. Our guide was a great source of information and it was one of the best ghost tours I have taken. A lot of fun and worth seeing, more than once!

Whether or not you're into "haunted" this is a fun tour of a historic place where you can walk in the foot steps of some of the richest and famous men of the mid 1800s. Even President Grant was here. We didn't see any ghosts except one of the photos my wife took with her iPhone camera was inexplicably overexposed by a bright light. The tour ends at the museum, which though small has lots of interesting reports of inexplicable phenomena.

The man that lead the tour was so informative and very nice. I did not catch anything on film or experience anything, but maybe you will!

so much fun and informative. not just about the club but about virginia city. the tour guide definitely knew what he was talking about and answers all of your questions. very inexpensive

I was on a trip for a paranormal event held at the washoe club and found it to be very haunted. You heard footsteps when no one else was there and there were some EVPs recorded as well. A very awesome place to visit if you are in to old Nevada history and ghosts.

We weren't avid ghost people but interested in checking out the tour. The tour guide was phenomenal and I had goosebumps the ENTIRE time

It is a fun thing to see. The tour is fun, it takes about 45 minutes and gives complete details of the place. It was fun to see and hear what it was like in that town during the bigger days.

Great stories and history here. They say I caught a "spirit orb" in one of my pics. i dont really buy that but it was still fun. Very cool little bar up front.

OOOoooohhh...ghosts really do haunt this place! And I'm so happy that I had the experience taking a tour with Betty...She is so friendly, and really brings a positive vibe to the tour. I was able to have experience after experience as well as my boyfriend while on the tour with her. There is a lot of history given, and lots to explore...I was finally even taller than my bf for a moment :) ...Thanks for the awesome experience Betty, I can't wait to get back up there! After the tour, the bar makes a pretty good drink!

Been coming to the Washoe since 2009, its a great place to view a bit of history about the building and the spirits that reside in the upstairs. If you have a chance, take the tour!

I took the tour and fully photographed and spoke aloud kindly and that evening at our hotel found I had captured 2 full body apparitions on film. It blew me away. I came away respecting the sanctity of an afterlife. Be ready because it's very active. Very nice staff too!

The history of this place is amazing. They are currently in the process of restoring it, but the wonder of this club is in the old walls and floors. The tour guide was cheerful, excited, and informative. It was a lot of fun for my family.

The tour lead by Empathic Paranormal.. Richard St Clair was awesome and very informative ..great place to explore, keep an eye out for the shadow man

Took the tour of the building with Carl and was amazed at the history and the haunting of the building. Definitely a must stop in Virginia city. The tour is 30-40 minutes and at $8 it's a steal.
Highly recommend this stop.

We loved this tour. Our guide, Justin, did an outstanding job of sharing this historic building with us. He is very active in the ongoing renovation and his knowledge about every aspect of this building was comprehensive. Whether you love history, or are into the paranormal activities here, you won’t be disappointed. As we toured the building, Justin told stories, shared photos and videos of apparitions, and pointed out architectural features such as the free standing spiral staircase and stone cellar where bodies were stored until the ground was soft enough for burial. His enthusiasm and love of this building was apparent throughout the tour. He took his time with us, letting us explore, take pictures (many trying to capture apparitions in their lenses), and pointing out features like a diamond dust mirror. Every part of this tour was interesting. There is also a museum you can explore before or after your tour, full of photos, history and artifacts. Highly recommend!

Ok, I am not a believer of ghosts, and I still have my reservations. I took a tour with some "sensitives" (people who say they can feel the presence of ghosts and "entities").....lucky me.

The Washoe club has been on my list of places to go for awhile and it was well worth it.Big shout out to Halen our guide who had such great energy and told the history so well, really made it fun, loved him.The 2nd floor had crazy energy and definitely felt something at the top of the second floor as well as a few other places.I first heard about it on Ghost Adventures but even if you are not into the paranormal aspect of the place you will certainly enjoy it for the history. The room with the haunted doll[Hi Betty] and the back room with the suicide had crazy energy as well.We will definitely make a return visit.

Great ghost stories & local history. Our guide was fun & knowledgeable about the history of Virginia City. She took her time & made the experience really good!

on the Fathers day weekend My daughter and I went on the ghost tour at The Washoe Club Haunted Museum in Virginia City Nevada this as One of the many spots we visited during her trip from Texas I'm in the Industrial Construction field and have been in the Bay Area sense early January anyway the Tour was great and well priced to our guide Carl Buehler as excellent as he took us from room to room and answering any and every question asked and giving us the history of the place and the city in general we did as he said and took plenty of pictures like he said you never know hat your going to capture at any giving time true words of a professional paranormal investigator well the tour was great and in the end I bought a book written and signed by Mr. Buehler in fact I've been reading it on and off sense I got back to the Bay and that's when I started inspecting the photos I had took zooming in on every corner of the rooms little by little for the past couple of days anyway today I came a cross the picture of a Kitchen cabinet again I zoomed in and thought for a second I had caught my reflection in the glass mine you I'm standing right in front of this piece of furniture and that's not me it looks like someone from way back in the day as I said I'm not easy to believe I'll have to make another trip and see how this image came to be

When we go to VC, the Washoe is the Best! Special thanks to Scott and Karla who ALWAYS treat us like family! Two of the coolest people on the planet! Oh and let's not forget about Barry!
ALWAYS A GREAT TIME!!!!!

Their website stated they opened at 9. The sign on the door said 10. They opened at 11. The very rude woman at the door said the first tour wasn't until noon! Came back...full. Came back again...full. Apparently the tourists that keep their doors open don't deserve to be treated respectfully.

Our day trip to Virginia City was the best part of our Tahoe visit! I LOVE that the residents and business owners take so much pride in their history and support their tourist industry. There is so much to see, but don't pass up the Washoe Club and the tour. Our tour guide was funny and experienced. We didn't see any ghosts, but she had dozens of photos on her phone- super creepy! If you get a chance to walk around the cemeteries, it's really interesting too. You may even see heard of wild mustangs - they just roam around, open range.

I liked it all!!!! Great history lesson and ghost stories were interesting. The museum and Crypt were great. he tour guide was knowledgeable and they even refunded my husband when he chickened out from the ghost tour.

This was the one big thing I wanted to see on my trip to Reno and Carson City. You have probably heard about the 2004 episode of Ghost Adventures where they did an investigation of this building and caught on camera the full body apparition of a woman walking across one of the rooms. Many paranormal investigators have investigated this building. The first tour started at 12 noon and costs $8 per person, but we got to town around 10:30 before the place was open. We went to the visitor center on the corner across the street and bought our tickets and got them for $7.75 each. May as well do that and save a quarter! Richard took us on the tour and was very informative about the history of the building and the ghosts said to haunt the place and the Millionaire's Club which used to have rooms on the second floor. You and 7 of your friends can even stay locked in overnight for $400, which Richard pointed out is less than you can get a hotel room for in most places! I may have had an experience in the music room. Richard said that people sometimes hear a woman humming and on one tour he and his entire tour group heard the humming. People have also heard a music box playing and Richard said when that happens the church bells play at the church a block away. I stayed back to take some photos and I heard a music box playing. I listened carefully and it sounded exactly like a music box, not church bells. When I caught up with the tour I asked Richard if the church bells were playing and he said yes, they were. I guess it's possible that what I heard were church bells but I never heard church bells that sounded like a music box playing! One of the photos I'm going to add on my review is the ballroom where the Ghost Adventure's team caught the full bodied apparition. Down on the ground floor in the bar area you can see part of the original bar from the Millionaires Club, the lone surviving crystal chandelier and mirror that used to hang in the ballroom and even a haunted woman's bathroom! You also get to see a large display of photos and other items on display as well as the spiral staircase where one ghost haunts. DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR!

Fun little tour that gets your heart racing at times. Our guide was adorable and had some fun ghost stories, along with history lessons. It was a fun time.

As a paranormal investigator this a dream place for me. Betty have me a personal tour and we experiences some weird activity. Footsteps. Whispering. Historic place. Beautiful city and a dream.place for any paranormal investigator

The Washoe Club was once the playground of the millionaires living in Virginia City. While the downstairs has been converted into a bar/small museum, the upstairs two floors are empty. The walls lack plaster in most places and all that separates rooms is the framing and the lathe. What makes the tour interesting is two fold: the history of the establishment and the 'ghosts' that are said to reside there. Our tour, led by Richard, was both informative and enjoyable. While we didn't 'see' or 'hear' any ghosts (haven't looked at the pictures yet) we thought the tour was very good thanks to Richard's personal stories.
Entrance fee was $ 8 and tours started on the hour. You can also rent the entire place for 8 people to do their own paranormal investigations during the night for $ 400 total. All money goes to continued renovations on the property.

A haunted museum and ghost tours daily - oldest bar in Virginia City (1862) - lots of creepy antiques and cheap drinks - friendly staff - kid and pet friendly
The saloon is free admission - and a drink purchase gets you admission to the haunted museum - ghost tours are only $8 for adults and $5 for kids 16 & under

I was a nonbeliever but I will not be returning . No joke . My family and friends made visit and did a tour and I am officially not returning.

Husband and I are fans of the Travel Channel Ghost Hunter show so had to do this tour on our latest visit to Virginia City. The paranormal slant did not phase us but we definitely did feel that there was something going on in the building as we both got a bit dizzy in certain rooms not pertaining to anything bad happening in them. Definitely some sort of energy was there. The crypt affected both of us in a physical way. Strong energy. The guide was informative and you can tell they are passionate about the place. I would recommend this place and be open minded. The cost was only $8 per person and added some reality to what was must have been such a hard life for the people who once lived here. Be aware there are stairs and uneven surfaces not suitable for anyone impaired. One woman in our group had a broken toe and she managed to do the tour but it was tough for her. The crypt, a room built between the rock and the building was a place where bodies were kept in the winter until they could be buried during warmer weather was where we felt the most negative energy and the most uncomfortable for obvious reasons......another note, the tour is pet friendly, we had a pit bull mix on the tour with us and he seemed a bit submissive. The owners were surprised how much less energy he had......maybe he felt the ghost presence too!

We had a great time in Virginia city and this place was one of the main reasons for visiting. We will return and take in more.

This is a great spot to grab a beer and check out the Washoe Club Museum. It has some neat stuff to check out. there is also a ghost tour that runs every few hours. I had a broken foot so I was not able to go but i will next time

This place takes you again back in time ,just look around and see the old things hanging on the wall and then get yourself tapped on the shoulder by a ghost it seems to never want to leave, so if I were you get down to Virginia City and have a good old time back in time

The story of the Washoe and Millionaire Club could have been a fascinating tale but our guide was a little too hung up on the paranormal ghost detective show. The tour takes you through the second & third floors of the building. Do not expect furnished floors. The ghost stories could have been weaved into the history of the building which would have made it entertaining. Nevertheless the architect and views from the windows makes it somewhat worth the $8 30 minute tour.

Where else can you take a tour through multiple levels of an old hotel and saloon in an old western town? And to top that off, it is supposedly haunted. I love the unusual, and this tour was interesting and unique. Besides the stories of hauntings, the history was great to hear. It is amazing to walk through history and to imagine life during that time as you walk the hallways and rooms. This is a 'must' when visiting Virginia City!

That box that says open at your own risk? Yeah, don't open that if you are faint of heart! Take the tour late at night - there is no lights and it makes it extra scary.

This was an absolute highlight of our trip! We were lucky enough to get a last-minute, after-hours tour and I enjoyed every second exploring this old building...suitably spooky and creepy, but no ghost sightings ( unfortunately ) - despite our guide talking about the many souls that frequent this building! The cellar that served as a makeshift morgue was extra- creepy as a lot colder than the other rooms! Interesting tour with lots of fascinating history! Loved it!

This place was very neat. The bar area has some interesting history. Like the mirror behind the bar is made of diamond dust and worth a lot of money. Get the bartender to show you with the flashlight, they are very willing to share the story of building. Check out the museum in the back see where the Ghost Adventure show has filmed a show about the building.

We have been here twice the first time we did the club's tour and that was fun the second time we were on a paranormal investigation and that was fun. Lots of history a step back in time, A good place for a cocktail and some chatter as well. Must visit in our book.

I was very excited on my recent trip to Virginia City to find that they had started giving daytime tours to the Old Washoe Club. I have watched both episodes of Ghost Adventures and was intrigued. While I didn't see anything on this visit or get any photographic evidence, I enjoyed the building itself and the stories from our enthusiastic tour guide. It was well worth the fee.

Well my wife was scared and could not sleep that night at the Gold Hill Hotel but I thought it was great. People are great. Do everything you can when you get to this town cause you will have a great time

Took Richard's tour of the haunted upstairs of the Washoe Club/Millionaires Club. Richard, our tour guide was very informative & kept it interesting. (after tour he took the time to show me documentation to support the history). Right away we heard a loud bang coming from the floor above. All upper floors are unoccupied! When we came to the 3rd floor you could feel the atmousphere become very heavy. Didn't see anything but a very interesting historic building but could really feel the change from lower levels. The tour is well worth the time and the first floor saloon has lots of artifacts as well.

First time taking the Haunted Tour. The tour entails the upper two floors and includes the museum at the end. Cost per person is $8.00 I am an avid fan of the Travel Channels program, "Ghost Adventures". If you are a fan, then you are aware fo the Washoe Club and the investigation they performed here. If not, worth a watch on YouTube. The tour guide was very good in providing information on the history of Virginia City and how the Washoe Club came into existence. Great tour, well worth the time and small cost to see this historic hotel. No orbs, spirits, or ghosts were present during my tour {that I'm aware of). I liked the fact that they welcomed, filming, cameras, or electronic devices of your choice. I would like to have toured this during the evening hours, however they close around 5pm. They however to offer for $400 a stay overnight for you and your closest friends. Reminder, there is no electricity in the buildings top floors, no beds, etc are provided. Not sure you would be sleeping though. Highly recommend this tour. Tours start at 1 p.m.

We took the tour in the afternoon on a nice sunny day...the spirits were pretty quiet. We really enjoyed the tour - it was alot of fun. Our tour guide Carl was really knowledgeable and put on a good tour. The place has alot of history and definitely has a creepy feel to it up on the 2nd and 3rd floors. A great way to spend a few hours in the afternoon.

We had fun with this. My 9 year old daughter wanted to go in. We didn't see any doors slam, but the minors were jumping up & down on the 3rd floor. They were angry at all the noise outside due to the memorial parade. My daughter is begging to go back. Fun fun!

Went because my son is interested in ghosts. I'm more skeptical. House is huge - 9000 sq.ft. and 3 stories - so be ready for some walking. Tour guide was very enthusiastic. House is fairly empty, so you walk from empty room to empty room listening to ghost stories and the house's history. Pretty neat to think that Mark Twain & Thomas Edison had spent some time in the house.

I’m intrigued by the afterlife and possibility of ghosts. I love talking to people who strongly believe in the paranormal. I have been to a couple of tourist attractions in different cities, and each of them had lots of history and stories that were interesting and spooky, THIS tour , however, was the first time I had ever felt nervous or anxious. Usually, I’m the one dragging behind the group taking lots of pictures and hoping to see something the other people might have missed. This time, I was uncomfortable (in the kind of way you hope for in a haunted mansion). Something affected me. I left believing things I did not believe before. Our guide, Carl, was amazing! Definitely my favorite thing in Virginia City!

Great tour, our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the history of the building and haunted happenings. Definitely a must see if you go to Virginia City, just be prepared for it to be hot during the tour if going during the summer.

It was excellent if you're looking for ghost hunting spots and want to be creeped out. This place CERTAINLY will accomplish that. You couldn't pay me to go back in for the tour, but the museum is interesting and the staff are friendly. And the drinks are strong, so if you need a bit of liquid courage before the tour that's helpful!

Came across Virginia City whilst staying in Lake Tahoe, thought it would be a great place to visit. Saw the Washoe Club on Tripadvisor so decided to go on a tour. Our tour guide Haley was really great, the whole tour was really creepy and scary (in a good way). Would definitely recommend to others. We have since watched the Ghost Adventures on YouTube and I don’t think I would have visited if I had watched this prior to coming. Really creepy! I also took this photo of the staircase, which you can see a blue light? Very bizrare!!!

The upstairs of his haunted tavern is finally open for tours. Owners had to put thousands into flooring and a sprinkler system so people could explore the haunted millionaire's club! Building was condemned in the 1980's and owners have been slowly working on remodeling. Tour guides have many pictures of ghosts captured in pictures on tour. Unfortunately we did not encounter any, but your was informative and interesting. View from third floor was amazing! Worth doing. We visited 5 years ago and look forward to coming back to view the progress in another 5 years.

History is literally in the walls of this place. It's a three story brick building home to the Millionaires Club, rooms for rent, and a bar on the first floor. Oh, I mean it was. Now it is home to the menagerie of ghosts both animal and human who haunt it.
The tour is great! My only regret is taking it during the daylight. The tour guide tells the stories fantastically well. He even has some creepy photos and videos on his iPhone that he shows in the rooms where they took place throughout the tour.
The one downside to the tour is that the tour guide tells you exactly what you will see/hear in the photos and videos that he shows. As a bit of a skeptic, it made me question how much of the material I perceived myself and how much was mere suggestion. Maybe if he had shown it twice, once before telling you what to expect and once after.
If you take the tour, you get a buck off each drink at the bar. I highly recommend doing this as the drinks are great!
Btw you can rent the whole second and third floors of the Washoe Club for a night of ghost hunting. Scary!

This place was another amazing find while walking across America, on The Great American Walkabout. We had to mention them in our new book! Formerly the Millionaires club, this place had famous members like Thomas Edison and Ulysses S. Grant. It also has a history of being haunted, and has appeared on several TV shows. One of my companions even became an honorary member!

I love this tour, we go on it every time we are in Virginia City. I have been on it 25+ times. Richard and Carl are excellent tour guides. They are ghost hunters themselves, so they bring a very positive vibe with them on the tour. I have had multiple paranormal experiences almost every time I have taken the tour. The female tour guide is not as good and really takes away from the paranormal experience. I did get a photo of an orb the last time I was there and all kinds of freaky things were happening with everyones electronics on the tour. If you are open minded, you definitely hear, feel and smell things while in the Washoe Club.

Great Bloody Mary and wonderful customer service! Will definable you be going there again! The bartender was outstanding! Had a blast!

I enjoy coming to the Washoe Club every year. This year I was a bit disappointed with the fact to charge for the "museum". I look forward to the spiral staircase to see the blue lady and see if the plexiglass has been removed to see the staircase from above, that is my decision on taking another tour yearly. Question is if your a Washoe Club member...do you get museum views free?

Wow.....Yes this is haunted. Loved the tour. Plenty of pictures with orbs. My slightly skeptical husband was pushed more than once and best of all I caught it on film. Needless to say he is a believer.
The paranormal activity started before the tour started. I left the bar to use the ladies room in the museum area. The door from the museum back to the bar was a double door. When I pulled the one side open the other door flew open and hit me hard in the forehead.
The camera malfunctioned a few times. Picture taken in museum looking towards crypt was totally out of focus (only time this has happened) but is filled with orbs. See picture.
Don't miss this tour!

Nice place to visit while in Virginia City if you are interested in the unknown of spirits and you just never know what may happen

The tour is very good and going into the crypt afterwards was an experience you won't forget. The hair on the back of my neck was standing up.

Tour guide Robyn rushes us and told us to be quiet any time we would ask question and smelled slightly of chopped onions bad bad I liked the other staffs they were very friendly

I read the great reviews for this attraction. The building was dirty and dusty. We were paraded through rooms and was told unrealistic stories. To confirm the stories, the guide showed us pictures on his phone. Even my 10 and 12 year old kids said they could photoshop that. They do need money to renovate but I think they can find a better story than a haunted place.

We toured the museum and the upstairs of the bar. Our guide was very knowledgeable and recounted several unusual experiences he has personally had. There are a few sets of stairs so it would not be accessible for a handicapped person. I would like to go again and at $8 it's very affordable.

What I liked about this place was the owner. She was very friendly and didn't charge me to tour the ground floor. I'm disabled and I'm unable to do stairs. The owner showed me the stairs that are part of the tour going up to the second floor. Just by looking at the stairs, it looked to be nearly 30 steep nerrow steps. I was so bummed I couldn't do the tour. She told me I could check out the main floor museum in the back and the crypt. So I did. If you are able to do the entire tour, which includes climbing all the stairs, do it. This haunted museum was amazing. They have a 'donation jar'. Even though I didn't have to pay for the tour, I donated a few dollars because this place so unique and fun.

Tour guide Betty was eccentric, but one of her ghost hunting friends from CA was tagging along on the tour talking to ghosts. It just seemed staged and hokey. To be fair and balanced though the Ghost Hunters TV show thought this place was legit and filmed here several years ago. They are back in town doing more filming. So if you believe it that kind of paranormal thing then you'll probably like this tour. Everybody else- spend $8.00 for the "entertainment" factor. It is a cool 1862 building and the bartender Carl was very accommodating. We only stopped here because of the inflated reviews on TripAdvisir. Starting to think some were fake.

Highly engaging. Even our three year old was listening intently to the guide's tales of hauntings, suicide, death by explosion, and murder most foul. It was a blast being where so many influential historical persons gathered to live the good life. Especially the card table where Ulysses Grant and Mark Twain played cards. No ghosts but a lot of fun.

Fun visit to a haunted place. My teens are 15 and 18. Both had fun in the tour. About 45 minutes for the tour. You can walk up and pre buy tickets for the tour. They run quite a few tours. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, I would recommend watching the show “Ghost Adventure - Washoe”on YouTube. I watched it after the tour and now I want to take the tour again.
If you have issues walking stairs, you might have a challenge on the tour. You walk up and down 3 flights of stairs several times.
Don’t worry about being in the front or the back of the line, you will change spots in each room of the tour. Price of the tour is very reasonable. Enjoy the tour

Very entertaining tour... I enjoyed Betty from Yuma! The pictures she showed added to the tour. My Brother got a video with an orb in it. Everyone in the group really enjoyed it! Highly recommended!

Halen was our tour guide at the Washoe Club in Virginia City . It is a saloon from the mid 1800's that has been featured on ghost paranormal shows. The tour spanned three floors of the hotel and Halen recounted stories from the past and even had some pictures that people in the past had snapped that had ghostly figures in them. The tour cost is $8.00 for a 40 minute tour and it is worth it. I highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Halen was absolutely awesome-
He was so knowledgeable and fun... it was so amazing to actually be there im such a huge fan of Ghost Adventures...I had no idea of the in depth History that Halen talks about. Interesting!
Completely reccomend- great time!! :)

My son, a family friend and I spent the afternoon in Virginia City. Gorgeous old town! My so. And I love to do the Ghost tours and this was recommended by one of the Storey County deputies.
I’ll post my video of what I captured at the end and you can decide for yourself.
The tour itself was ok. The history attached to the building is amazing! Our tour guide Robin, well she could use some people skills and etiquette.
When I paid for the tour 10$ per person, she was behind the bar. Not sure how long she had been drinking, but long enough to slur her words. We were escorted into the millionaires club, with 3 other people on our tour. She began with a history then explained each of the rooms and the activity that had been observed. We were allowed to take photos. But were rushed out of rooms because of her time constraints. When someone lingered a little too long in a room she criticized them and told them if we wanted to stay longer, to rent the place. She said that many times. I have never been on a ghost tour where the guide hasn’t made a special stop or took their time so the customers in the group could take their photos and spend some time in the location. At the end she had the nerve to say, tips aren’t expected but greatly appreciated. No one from our group donated to her cause. Below is the video I caught. or maybe not trip advisor won’t let me post the video. Sorry. I will post my sons green orb he captured. To me it was worth her torture. 😀

Richard gave a fantastic tour, lived learning about the washoe club and seeing a great piece of history! This is a must see for anyone! Very family friendly but would also suit couples. Would see it again!

The volunteers were very knowledgeable and patient, with all of our questions, and with the heat of NV.
They explained the type of activity that occurs, and I was able capture some activity in photos.
Very fascinating tour, I wish it would have lasted longer into the night.
Excellent,I cannot wait to return next year.

My friend and I stopped in the Washoe Club while walking around Virginia City and after ordering drinks in the bar, decided to do the tour of the upstairs. Jen, our tour guide, is amazing. She's so friendly and knowledgeable. I learned so much about the Washoe Club and Virginia City! The upstairs is really cool and it was fun to hear about all of the paranormal experiences people have had. My friend who I was on the tour with, saw a shadow dart across one of the doorways in what we learned was the area that people see shadow figures in - how neat! We also went into the crypt which was creepy, and the museum, which houses a lot of Ghost Adventures memorabilia and plays their documentary on loop. If you're into the paranormal, it'd be worth your time to check this place out. And if not, it's still a really neat place to grab a drink.

This is so cool. The millionaires club from back in the day. Just the bare bones now. But I am sure there are spirits here. The overnight lock-in would be cool. Reccon

My husband, daughter and I went on the tour, we learned a lot of history about the building, the way of life back then and Virginia City as well, didn't see any Ghosts
or anything funny but heard lots
Of story's, the guide was excellent and knew his stuff, he inside of the building and history was very interesting, and you never know what you might see at anytime?

I'm a big fan of the ghost adventures and they were at this location so I rented an emf meter for the tour for 5 bucks and the tour was only like 8 bucks. The energy in that place is crazy what a cool piece of history so worth the money

Haunted they say??? Could be just ask the owner. But its a club full of history. In the ceiling you can see bullet holes from cowboys of yesterday. Sit at the bar and have a few and talk to the townspeople. They have a lot to say

I don’t really buy into hauntings and ghosts, but my son really loves these kind of tours. I didn’t have a lot of expectations. I went with my wife and our 17 year old twins.
My wife and I started off with a drink from the bar. The bar tender was very generous with the alcohol. That was one of the strongest margaritas I have ever had.
Shortly after we finished our drinks the tour started. It was pretty dark in the hotel area but the tour guide had a lamp with him. They allowed people to take pictures and record with there phones which I thought was good.
There was a lot of history given by the tour guide which I liked and found interesting. Those who believed in hauntings seemed to really enjoy the tour.
If you are a believer of ghosts and hauntings, I recommend going when it is dark out. I think it would add to the experience.
If you aren’t, the day time would be better. You would have a better view of the hotel.
If we go back to Virginia City, I would do the tour again. All the staff were pleasant and the tour operator was very good. Although he seemed to be in a hurry to get done. I think it was because he had so many people to take through and a time limit.

Excellent tour (if you believe) well done and a lot of fun facts
a lot facts, great tour guides, would do again.

this was a very nice tour. got lots of orbs in our pictures. tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the place and very personable to talk with

We took the tour of the haunted Washoe Club....fascinating history lesson, while doing a little ghost hunting. Our guide was great, and they made us feel really welcome.

My 10 year old daughter and I were wandering around Virginia City with loose plans other than exploring for a few hours.
We walked into the Washoe Club and the bartender was super friendly and welcoming. I’ve been to Virginia City before being from Tahoe, but it was with the boys on motorcycles. She let us know a tour would be starting at the hour and my daughter showed interest.
Halen was our tour guide and was “Amazing “ as my daughter chose the heading for the review. True local with good information and passion. This isn’t just a job for him, it’s an opportunity to share his knowledge. “He believes”, based on his experiences growing up in Virginia City.
I would say I was a neutral 5/10 before the tour and left at a 7/10. I would never say spirits aren’t real, just never experienced what others have. Definitely felt some energy in the building.

I visited the museum and met Brett who is one of the paranormal guides for the tour. I mentioned I own a paranormal tour in Savannah GA and he gave me a private tour of the club upstairs. Now let me give you some advice from a paranormal investigator point of view, take this tour and be open for a great experience. This is a documented haunted property. Stuff happens in here. If you get a chance to visit and you are into the paranormal be prepared for a great time. I wish I had more time in Virginia City to investigate further.

My husband and I enjoyed the tour throughout the Washoe Club. He even caught some orbs on his GOPRO camera. We enjoyed our Apple Cider and Fireball Whiskey we ordered at the bar as it was a very cold and nasty day. We really enjoyed our experience and met the owner, Nick!

The Washoe Club Haunted Museum was a letdown for us. There was a lot of hype about how haunted this place was, so we expected to see some spooks, plain and simple. Never did I get that chill down my spine or that feeling of dread that the realty TV ghost hunting shows always mention.
Now I've seen orbs with my friend as a witness in a gym I once went to in Long Beach, California that turned out to be a couple of unfortunate souls that got killed by falling bricks during the 1933 Long Beach earthquake, so I know how my spooks should look. Unfortunately, there's nothing like that going on here.

As most people know this place is well known because of the ghost adventures. Our tour guide Richard was awesome. The tour takes you to the 2 upper levels where the millionaire club was and great stories about the people and events of the building. I would recommend the tour great drinks in bar too. Be aware there is a lot of steps.

Eerie place, I am not a believer, but I definitely got goose bumps. A lot of rooms a lot of history.

Richard was a wonderful guide with a great speaking voice. While in the room with the toys the ghost Ella tried to grab my daughters hand but when she felt the ghost she pulled away and ended up with a scratch. The hand felt cold and clammy. We didn’t see the scratch till we left. It is an experience we will never forget.

My partner and I decided to take a weekend trip to Virginia city and it was worth every second. The number one place that stood out was the washoe club, we never knew it was featured in ghost adventures. Once you walk into the bar area you feel a sense of energy that lingers in the walls and tables. When you do the tour, the second and third story invite you to remember what time was like back in the day. With the history being told, old antique items that still move to this day, you will leave that place feeling like you will see it again very soon. Highly recommend this place including the apparition who said hello during my visit along with the woman calling for her baby during a recorded session.

Amazing building & welcoming staff.. historical, mystical and you can't help but gravitate to it...im glad I got it scratched off my bucket list !

A good stop in town, you can take a tour of the top floors where there have been ghost sightings, but it's just overall a nice history tour too.

Washoe Club staff were stressed after a town full of holiday tours. But we got to still have a great investigation all night.

This is a great place to go if you want to visit spirits of the past.
They offer a tour that is very interesting and given by great tour guides. We have been on the tour several times and everytime experienced something different. From EVP's to footsteps of someone walking behind you only to turn and find no one there. The womens bathroom is extremely haunted. The people at the bar are very friendly and have lots of stories to share. Highly recommend going there!

This tour is a great combo of paranormal speculation and historical information. The guide Carl did a great job narrating our journey through the Washoe Club. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the building and its history. He shared information on the multiple famous patrons that were members of the club. He also took us to the areas that people have recently experienced paranormal phenomenon. The building definitely has rooms that exude a creepy vibe. The 3rd floor and "The Crypt" definitely produce chills and goosebumps. Bring your camera. Plenty of opportunities for pictures. You never know if the "Lady in Blue" might just appear in your pictures.

This is a must do in Virginia City, One of the Asian kids caught a Orb on his camera, I am totally a skeptic but he showed me the Orb on his camera, We had a lot of fun.

tour was reasonably priced, historical, entertaining and spooky. would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area

I had a really excellent time while touring this beautiful and historic building. Bette is awesome and really a nice person. I went on the paranormal/history tour of this building and I really had a great time. The tour guide, I forgot his name, was really informative. He really knew his history, and told me things that l never knew about the building.
Now I am a Paranormal freak and also a big fan of the TV show Ghost Adventures. This is the place that put these guys on the map. One of the reasons I came to Virginia City is for the hauntings. I am really impressed with The Washoe Club, because they keep the building as authentic as possible. They also bring the tourists to the places where Zak, Nick, and Aaron had thier experiences.
All in all it is a wonderful place to visit. Oh and yeah you must visit the museum also.

Definitely a great time and extremely reasonable tour and cocktails. Lots to see! The Crypt gives you goose bumps - don't go in alone as you could get an unsuspecting visitor! This place brings you back to the old west. Don't miss it.

Wife watches Ghost Adventures and wanted to do the tour. It was neat to hear some of the history behind the town, and things that took place in this building. One thing was storing dead bodies in one of the rooms during winter, until the ground thawed in the spring to bury them. I'm not a true believer in what others experience, but my wife said she felt something tap her on the shoulder in one of the rooms. She thought it was me, but I wasn't near her at the time.

First time we visited was in 2010 and the upper floors weren't open to public. 😒!! Not the case now, it's a giant building upstairs and if the "paranormal" is your thing then you must go! All my kids loved it!!

Was a good and working on renovating the hotel and bring it back to what is was like before. Lots of good stories involved with this hotel.

Took a guided tour through the house. Many rooms with a lot of tales who and by whom they are haunted and who met ghosts and so on. If you believe it might even be a bit scary.
Small museum is enclosed.

My wife and I decided to take the tour. Richard was a great guide and a wealth of knowledge. We learned a lot about the Washoe Clubs history. I did not have a paranormal experience but my wife said there was something there and her whole mood changed until she had been outside of the Washoe Club for a while. Tour was quite interesting.

We took this tour, so the wife, who is a big GAC fan, could see where they got their start. We arrived at the “club” at about 1225 and were told to be back at 1255 for the 1300 tour. The tour costs $8/person. The admission includes $1 off drink of your choice and admission to the museum.
Our tour consisted of 4 people, us and one other couple. The tour consists of walking around the 3-story building that is in dire need of major repair and renovation, with a tour guide who was incoherent at times, going off on tangents that had nothing to do with the building or tour, she also said she was a comedian and told the most awful jokes. No wonder she is now working as a tour guide. She also continually bad-mouthed the over-nighters (folks who pay to remain overnight to conduct their own paranormal experiments). The tour consisted of going into different rooms and having her explain what experiences other tour groups had observed along with showing various photos on her Ipad to back up her claims. We did not observe anything. They take you into the Grand Ballroom for the major attraction of the tour. 2 duct tape “X’s” on the floor. One was where the GAC had their camera placed and the other is where the “spirit” was. It feels as though this is a Ghost Adventures Crew museum instead of the Washoe Club tour. After the tour, the guide hits you up for tips.
If you really want to walk in the footsteps of the GAC then by all means take the tour. If you want to save yourself, $8/person, pass on this tour, and spend your money on something else.
***this tour involves climbing 3 sets of stairs, and is not ADA accessible***

Very cool old building in a state of disrepair. No lights, night tours are with a flashlight. Crooked floors, squeaky doors! And lots of Ghost sightings. End your ghost walk tour with this - you will get all of old Virginia City. This is the best chance for a picture of a ghost in Virginia City. And this is off the tour list - you need to go ask how to get a tour.

This place is always on our "must visit" list whenever we go to Reno. Barry Fox serves up a delicious cocktail and the haunted tour is freaky and really, really fun. Be careful of the bathroom in the back of the bar...

My wife wanted the ghost tour. The gal at the bar was nice and made fresh coffee while we waited. This was in February and it was cold. Our Tour Guide, Michael, was great. He was careful with the folks on the tour as we went up and down some narrow stairs, and explained the highlights of each part of the building, and some of the ghostly events that happened there. I wasn't overly excited about taking the tour, but I am very glad I did. My wife got a great picture of a "moving orb" on the 3rd floor. Its living history, sort of.

We booked the museum for an overnight paranormal investigation. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. We did the tour during the day and had a great time. Love the private room for members to use. Drinks were reasonably priced and ambiance was perfect. Spirit activity was amazing overnight.

Lots of fun, whether you believe or not. I loved the history and just getting to poke around in an old house. Great stories.

We took the tour and had a great time. The tour guide was very informative, courteous, and humorous. We didn't see any ghosts but it sure did give a creepy feeling being in the hotel. I'm glad this wasn't a night tour.

Very knowledgeable tour guide had a lot of history to tell us thru out the tour. Was worth the price of admission. Took about 45 min to an hour well worth it.

So you want to tour a haunted saloon/hotel? Well you can tour this one! It is a guided tour and you are taken all through the building upstairs. Your ghost sighting will vary. We didnt see any but we did have a few nice drinks in the saloon. Worth the price of admission just to tour the hitoric building!

Went on Labor Day and had fun. Took a bunch of pictures of what I thought was nothing. Went through my photos a couple days later and saw what looks like an apparition of a woman standing in the closet of the third floor apt. Completely unexpected and kind of scary!

While we did enjoy the tour itself, and seeing the renovations of the building, our guide was way too into playing "tour guide". Too much cockiness shoved into 40 minutes. Heaven forbid you try and interact with him, as he just looks right through you and gives you the cursory "nice story bro". The place is definitely active.....hopefully you get a different guide than "Mr. Radio Voice".

It's an amazing place had my first paranormal experience there. The tour guides are amazing. Definitely a must see when in Virginia City.
The original millionaire's club. I wish there was a way to restore it to it's original grandeur. You can see the remnants of the beautiful wallpaper and wood walls and it just has so much interesting history. Next time I visit I will become a member and do the night stay.
