Brilliant, amazing and a must for all HP fans. We had a great experience and would go back in a heartbeat.

A must see for all Harry Potter fans and non fans! The light show in Christmas day was just magical - fake snow included. Have some Butter Beer and enjoy the show.

food was not good. Covering the Trump Rally as a journalistCovering the Trump Rally as a journalist bad

The Wizarding World is really fantastic. My only complaint is that the interactive wands were a little difficult for the little kids to use.

For those of you that are Hogwarts lovers this is heaven! It' a Hogsmeade Village where you can be matched with a wand at Olivander's Wand Shop, eat at the Three Broomsticks, drink Butter Beer and if you go at Christmas time you will see real snow!

You wander through Universal checking out Simpsons things, looking at the walkways down to Jurassic Park, etc., and then you turn a corner. Everything changes. You become completely immersed in the world with the buildings, cobblestones, train, shops, everything. You see Hogwarts up on the "hill" above you. There is just nothing like it at Universal. I enjoyed the candy store with all the goofy treats like fudge flies and peppermint toads. A truly amazing chance to get into the feel of it all.

I took my younger sister (she is an adult) during her visit with us here in LA. She is a huge HP Fan and had a great time. All the merchandise was very thematic and the whole area oozes atmosphere. It was a very nice day (we spent time at other areas of the park as well).

There were some things that were starting to show wear, for example, the fans in the waiting areas outside the Three Broomsticks didn't quite work in one of the hottest Septembers (2022) ever. Our wands also didn't work at the gates whilst it worked fine else where

From Hufflepuff to Griffendor take your time exploring the world og JK rowling and harry Potter. A great way to spend a few hours immersed in the park and drinking/eating/playing.

There are only two rides in this area, a Harry Potter ride that I and my teenage daughter loved. We are both roller coaster junkies. We were there with a family that had a five and ten year old. The five year old was too young to ride, the ten year old went once and did not want to ride again. There is also a small roller coaster in the area, it is nothing exciting and the ride is very short. There are a lot of shops, and a few shows. The singing frog show was really cute.

A must visit for any Harry Potter fan. The first time I visited the ride we spent over an hour in line. The second visit we got the express pass and waited 5 minutes - definitely go with the express pass if you plan on going on this ride! The ride itself was very cool, but slightly overwhelming. A lot of motion! But the walk through the school & seeing all of the attention to detail was great! Definitely worth a visit at least once!

The Harry Potter World at Universal is first class. So well done I was very impressed. The Butter Beer was very nice also. Great rides of a high standard.

No fan of Harry Potter books can miss this part of the Universal Studios park, and Hogsmeade and Hogwarts are very evocatively done. Nonetheless, the actual attractions in this part of the park are mildly disappointing. There is a 20-second roller coaster that is not worth the time of the wait unless you can skip to the front of the line with an Express or VIP pass. There is a 10-minute "wand selection" presentation at the Olivander's, which will leave your child upset if he or she is not selected as the main participant (and for each group of 30 people that are let in, obviously only one or two children will be selected). Finally, there is the big motion simulation ride that, IMHO, is too heavy on the dangerous and scary aspect of the Harry Potter lore - we all found its "darkness" detracting from the exhilaration. Your mileage will vary.
Talking about the Universal Studios park in general, there are only a dozen attractions in the entirety, but on a busy peak day, on a regular ticket that requires long waits, you may struggle to cover all of the attractions. The ticket prices being what they are, upgrading to the Express ticket, or further to the VIP ticket, may not be possible for most families, in which case I would highly recommend trying to time your visit for a midweek in non-peak season.

We had a great time in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Tons of stuff to see. I still think we missed a few stores. The frozen Butter Beer is quite frankly...addictive! I couldn't get my husband to stop drinking them. LOL! The longest wait was to go into the wand shop. But don't fear...plenty of the shops sale the wands. My husband got a Death Eater wand and it was very well made. Nice an sturdy. He didn't get the interactive wand. The roller coaster ride was fun but be warned..it's a very short ride. So go at a time when they are not super busy. There were lots of characters to take pictures with. Really enjoyed it.

We went to Universal for Hogsmeade and absolutely enjoyed ourselves.
We ate at the Three Broomsticks and loved it!! Huge portions.
Was crazy excited to try the Butterbeer, but were a little disappointed. It was crazy, super sweet. The head on it was amazing, but the liquid left a little to be desired. We didn't try the frozen one, but probably should have.
You have to go the bathroom in Hogsmeade. They are very, very clean and nice and Moaning Myrtle can be heard in the bathrooms.
The Forbidden Journey ride has small chairs, so if you are bigger, you may not get to ride. But if you don't, ask if you can go in and walk through the castle and they will give you a walk through pass!!
The attention to detail in this area was out of this world amazing!! I was completely amazed by it all.
This is a truly magical place....and we also swore they pumped cold air into the area because it was colder in this area than any other area of the park!!

Amazingly created, Hogwarts looks just like the movie. Was disappointed that the roller coaster ride lasted only 30 seconds, if that, glad we only waited 25 minutes to get on it. Waited one hour to get on the ride inside the castle, which was about five minutes long. Wanted to tell everyone waiting 4 hours to get on it wasn’t worth it . The light show on the castle at night is also very nice, but again, doesn’t last long enough to be worth the wait to get to see it. The wand shop has way too many people in it, the wand is $57, and then you have to stand at 13 stations to perform the magic. Great experience for your child if it wasn’t for the thousands of people streaming by what you’re trying to do this. Have to say everyone was very polite taking their turn .

Although not on the grand scale as Universal Florida it is amazing! For true Potterheads you need to bring your interactive wands or if you idon'thave one you need to buy one and have fun making videos of yourself dong many magic tricks!

I had a good time at this land. I really like the ride and visiting the shops in the Harry Potter World

Universal did a great job in creating this area. You are in awe as you approach the main entrance to the area. Then you see the storefronts and decorations, and finally the castle!
Go on the Forbidden Journey as soon as you can. We went with our early entry and had about a 15 minute wait. When we came out of the ride, the wait was around an hour, and it got as long as 100 minutes in the afternoon.
There is a kids rollercoaster, which is fun but not thrilling for an adult. The shops are fun to go through and see. There is a wand store, and you can go through a wand show beforehand. The 2 Butterbeer carts were always busy. I believe that he souvenir mugs were $18 each. The candy store has a large selection of sweets.
There is a stage where they have performers throughout the day.

I was super impressed at the buildings as we approached this park section! Awesome job! There were 2 stands to purchase butterbeer. We walked past the first one as the second one had a much shorter line. There were subtle differences between the regular and the frozen version so you might want to get one of each. There were only 2 rides in this section and since the lines moved quickly when we were there it didn't take long to complete. The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was excellent! The flight of the Hippogriff was pretty short and tame. To the park's credit, this ride was described as "family friendly". I enjoyed this area but I really don't feel the need to return unless more is added.

this was great and one of the highlights of the day. you need to make sure you see the light show on hogwarts

Go during a rainy/cold day and get the experience. It was breathtaking. My coworker (not a HP fan) even found it amazing. My husband isn't as a big fan as I am but even he was blown away. We both walked out of the restroom laughing and asking if Moaning Myrtle was in the restrooms. We loved sitting on the patio of the Three Broomsticks, hot butterbeer in hand, looking up at Hogwarts. I wish there were a few more things to do in the WWHP but I could still spend hours there.
I added my review for the whole park but just to the WWHP:
* take Dramamine if you get motion sickness because the forbidden journey is insane and worth it
* three broomsticks is worth the price, the feast is huge and it says 4 people but it's more like 6 at its $70 (worth it with more people)
Enjoy!

This section of Universal Studios was the most crowded section during our time at the park. Understandably so, because it is amazing. But it was frustrating to try to work our way around that area. They do a good job in managing the crowds in the stores, which did help. We got to ride the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride twice because it stopped part-way through. One of our favorite rides at the park. Make sure to try the butterbeer!

Okay, so I'm just a medium-level Harry Potter fan (my daughter is a huge fan, though). But I still loved this place! It looked amazing and made us feel like we were really in Hogsmeade. The ride inside Hogwarts is one of my favorites in the park, definitely worth at least two goes. And the candy shop is so fun, where you can buy all the treats from the book.

We were there on 1/2, the second day of the New Year, so the waiting line was unusually long. 3-D hologram was widely used in the castle. There were two rides in the Harry Potter attraction. Take the castle ride not the roller coaster. Just like other latest rides in Universal Studio, Virtual Reality (or Augmented Reality) was heavily used and it was unexpectedly fun even though I am not a Harry Potter fan. You felt that you followed Harry Potter flying around the castle. Certainly not suitable for someone who has heart problem.

Yeah we are Harry Potter Geeks and that is ok here! you can purchase your first wand or ride the Harry Potter ride...and you MUST have a Butter Beer!

We took the VIP tour, expensive but worth the 2 gourmet meals, extended tram tour including walking onto sets, Guided front of line on every ride.

If you are a young couple with children, then it might be enjoyable. For an adult with any IQ it's the height of mind-numbing silliness.

This was my first time going to Universal Studios. We went on a Wednesday in the middle of October and I could not believe how packed the park was. There were long lines for everything and I felt like I had to wade through seas of people to get anywhere.
Harry Potter land was my favorite. The scenery is really well done and it has all kinds of details a fan can really appreciate and enjoy, from Ollivander’s wand shop to butter beer. I bought both because I love Harry Potter, even though the prices were insane for essentially a plastic stick ($50) and a sweet soda ($8). The Ollivander's experience was neat for a Harry Potter fan, but would be especially fun if you were the child picked for the wand choosing ceremony.
Honeydukes was fun and had a lot of the iconic candy you would expect, but the prices are prohibitive to really enjoy it ($12 for a tiny thing of every flavor beans or a chocolate frog).
I rode the Flight of the Hippogriff ride. I thought it was ok. It lasted maybe 30 seconds and did not have any big dips or thrills. I also rode the Forbidden Journey ride. I waited in line for 40 minutes and when I got to the top was told the ride was now broken. They could not offer me a pass to skip the line next time and I was just out of luck. I came back later and waited another 45 minutes for the ride. It was fun, but I felt like a huge portion of my day was just waiting in line. The scenery while waiting in line was really cool and took you throughout Hogwarts, complete with moving paintings and holograms of our favorite characters to set the scene for the ride. I thought the ride was unique and enjoyed it.

My daughter has been wanting to see this since it opened. The set dressing makes everything look like it is straight out of the movie. MMM Butter Beer.

Our two children (8 and 10) are both huge Harry Potter fans and really enjoyed the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Particularly they enjoyed Ollivanders, the opportunity to use the wand live, the butter beer and of course the rides.

You have to visit the Three Broomsticks for lunch and you have to try Frozen Butter Beer. There is also a ton of cool merchandise.

Being a long time Harry Potter fan, it was exhilarating to visit the Wizarding World. Lots to see, the place is small but well built and can make any HP fan happy. You can buy butterbear, souvenirs, wands and candies too. I didn't go on the rides which i truly missed.

I am not a Harry Potter fan in any way but walking into this place was pretty amazing! Kudos to the designers, builders, etc who made this up! Long lines all day long for the butter beer. 2 hour wait for the ride in the castle/school? but went later when the wait was 45 minutes but got on in 20 minutes as a single rider. Lots of shops to browse around in. We were told to be sure and stay for the night art show and we did and it was pretty cool. A light show playing on the castle/school. If you are a Harry Potter fan then you will like this. (Christa)

This portion of the Universal theme park is small but wonderful! My daughter and I decided to get season passes so that we could walk through Hogwarts, grab a glass of wine at Hogshead and wander the grounds any time we wanted. The light shows displayed on the castle have been magical and a must see. We recently had no waits for rides because it was raining a little and we arrived after 4. Don't miss this wonderful addition to Universal Studios. And the rest of the park is fun too!

We bought our interactive wands in Orlando a few years ago and they work here too! The lovely lady in Olivanders ‘calibrated’ then when they didn’t work first time and gave us free maps.
Only 4 stars as in Orlando there are much more rides and things to do, but definitely worth a visit if you are in LA

You really feel as though you are there. The workmanship of the buildings is fabulous as is the enthusiasm of the performers and staff. This is well worth the entry fee. We shall be back!!

As a huge Harry Potter fan, this place is a bit disappointing especially after visiting the one in Florida. If you have gone to the Florida one, don't waste your time here.

I went as a Harry Potter fan along with my friends who aren't, and we ALL enjoyed the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood. The shops were fun and super detail oriented, and the ride at Hogwarts was so much fun! The Hippogriff ride was a bit boring though and can be skipped. You absolutely have to trip their Butter Beer if you go.

The Wizarding World of harry Potter was the first ride we went on and the last at night watching the show at the castle. I suggest that you do Harry Potter FIRST! Not to be missed! Enchanted and bedazzling.

The wizard in world is worth a day by itself. The three broomsticks serves really good food in an authentic environment.
The whole area is designed to give you the feel of being in the wizarding world. You can even send a postcard with a Harry Potter post mark - so cool

Obviously a must see for Harry Potter fans. The rides are great and the butter beer and general atmosphere does not disappoint. It does get crowded so try not to go at peak times like holidays or weekends if you can.

Amazing ride totally worth it after an hours wait. Never experienced anything like it before. The whole school of wizadry transports you to a new world of magic and spells.

If you've seen the moves or read the books you need to see this place. It's the books brought to life. My red headed daughter was even greeted as a Weasly

The only reason we went to Universal on our trip was so my 11 year old daughter could be in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The line to get into the Hogwarts ride was brutal - over 3 in hours in mostly sun. Need more shade and those fans that spray the water along the path

Hands down, this is the best ride at Universal! The wait time was not bad because we were entertained by the interactive castle as we moved along. I would ride this ride 100 times!

My favorite place to escape from the Muggle world! The rides are fun, the food is excellent (for a theme park) and shops are full of magical items.

It was crowded, but didn't stop us from getting butterbeer, riding the two rides, watching the frog choir and the dark arts show, and browsing through the shops. If you have a choice between this one and the one in Orlando, go to Orlando.

Absolutely amazing world you don't want to leave.
We entered the park with Wizarding world as the starting point and took the castle ride 2 times before moving to the other activities. Absolute best.
Get the buttermilk at 3 broomsticks, you never had any better drink.

Even though I have not read any of the books, harry potter section of the park was like stepping into another time & country. so very cool & enjoyed it so much.

Have seen in in Florida, and now in Hollywood, totally worth it in every respect. Part of the day at Universal, and a major hit with the family.

We had a blast, the rides were great and we actually felt like we were in the Harry Potter's movie. Love!!

Well done Universal, the Wizarding World is great, but arrive early to avoid the queues! You can post a letter or card with a special stamp at the owl post office, during butter beer, (or real beer) and have a wand select you, as well as ride a hippogryph and fly through Hoggwarts.

lovely place and magical atmosphere, i wish that i can live there for the rest of my life :D
All games are pretty funny also the shops

great rides and the set up is incredible you really feel like you are inside a harry potter movie
my son loved the interactive wands and being able to make spells
we tried butterbear and had a blast

Not a Harry Potter fan, but called in here while at Universal. Absolutely amazing place, the details in the buildings are eye catching. The Castle is out of this world. A great bar and restaurant too, so something for everyone. Roller coaster a must, but the jewel in the crown is the simulated Harry Potter ride, what an experience !! Don't miss this place out...
Listened to the frog choir and really enjoyed it, an amazing sound. Harry Potter fans will not be disappointed.

Very cool even if your not a Harry Potter fan, super cool if you are.
The rides are great, shops are fun, beverage carts tasty.
Lot of attention paid to the details. The line for the forbidden journey, has moving and talking paintings, sorting hat, statues, Dumbledore's office, etc. Makes the line entertaining.

When you go to Universal Studios make sure you visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter this will take you awhile as there is so much to see & do from wonderful rides to shops & amusements also there is a great restaurant in here as well.

Universal is wonderful, they allow everyone to wear costumes, not just kids like that mousy place. You an wear your robes and the people working will play along in character. Sometimes you’ll see wonderful home made costumes of teachers and the like.
The big ride is the Hogwarts ride, it is a vehicle you are locked into with shoulder pieces because you do go upside down. It moves through the ride and uses screens to make it feel like there’s more motion.
If you don’t think that you can handle the motion, you can ask for a pass to walk through the ride without riding.
The other ride is a kiddie coaster with a little themeing.
Food in the that section of the park is 2 Butterbeer carts, (everyone stops at the first one, keep going an dthe second one is just the other side of Ollivander’s) a couple of ice cream carts, a healthy-ish cart, and Three Broomsticks.
Great food at the Broomsticks. I’ve never had a bad meal there. And you can get a shot of Fire Whiskey at the bar and put it in your butterbeer.
The candy shop is pretty cool, get a chocolate frog, they have cards inside!

The design of this world is incredible. When you first enter, the train to take you to 9 3/4 is waiting for you with the conductor right there to talk with you. As you proceed down the cobble path, there are shops and butter beer and wands (one that will start some exhibits like frogs or books), and two rides. The candy store sells chocolate wands which, of course, we had to buy for ourselves.
Harry Potter and the Forbidding Journey is a 3D ride which is fun but tossed us around, back and forth, to the side, and most times in the dark. Both of our necks and backs hurt when we came out and decided not to go on it again.

Tears were shed as we walked through the gates of Hogsmede. As a HP fan travelling from Oz it was a huge thrill.
Loved the frozen Butterbeer and lunch at The Leaky Couldren.
Couldn't fault it!

All the people that work in this part of the park do such a great job of staying in character and really making you feel like you're in the Harry Potter world. The wand shop is a great experience and the staff there will even help you choose (and be chosen) by the wand that best suits you. A bit pricy for the wand but if you get one early in the day, you can run around casting spells in designated locations. You can also take your wand to any other wizarding world and it's also supposed to work.

Absolutely spectacular experience. This place is awesome and so amazing. It is such a well done replica of all things Harry Potter. The castle, the sites, the rides and the shows are so spectacular. A must see.

The only reason I bought Universal tickets was to come to the Wizarding World. After all the hype about building Hogwarts and all, you can't walk through it or anything fun. To see inside you have to stand in line for ages to get on the ride. In the hot California sun. (have you ever heard of providing shade?) The various foodstuffs, like the butter beer and other drinks - yuck. And expensive. Ollivander's wands has an extensive variety of wands and you have to stand in line for ages just to get in. We accidentally entered through the back door and by-passed the line. (shhh...don't tell anyone - but if you find the back door, use it.) The wands are about $50 or more. And some of them, if you point them at certain shop windows, will activate some animated activities. But once you get them home...now what...just expensive sticks. The tickets we bought were good for a year. So we tried a second time. Still disappointing.

A real amazing experience. Waiting time was more than 30 minutes but it's worth it. We enjoyed the ride to the point that we yelled of excitement. Don't miss it.

My boys had a blast. There's not much more to say than that--we bought wands and robes and butterbeer and explored every inch of Hogesmede.

Great day out, express tickets are a must to get around in a day. Make sure you take the express entrance as it's not always clear.

Not what I would refer to as a Harry Potter fan, but I found the books and films entertaining. Again, this is another deeply immersive experience provided by Universal. From the costumes to the props to the food vendors and the rides, you feel as though you are there. Both if the rides were enjoyable. I personally enjoyed the Flight of the Hippogriff: a short but fun coaster. Also, the "wand fitting" at Ollivanders is entertaining as well. Try a frozen butterbeer while you're there! Delicious!

My family of 4 visited Universal/Harry Potter world in January. We purchased the VIP Experience and it was great to skip the lines for the rides. My kids (13,18) loved everything about it. It was very realistic looking.

Just an interesting thing for Muggles and Potterheads alike. Butterbeer was not good, I do not recommend personally.

Whether or not you are a Harry Potter fan, this attraction is great ! Although there are at this point only 2 rides, the whole “world” is fun with multiple things to do throughout. The area is full of opportunities to purchase Harry Potter merchandise, so bring 2 or 3 times as much money as you think you’ll need, particularly if you are traveling with kids.

As you walk through this section of Universal STudios you will see a stage show that is quite entertaining. There's also a mild roller coaster in the area, but all of the displays in this section are cute. We went there for my birthday and found the whole place changed from when I first visited in the 1980s. One of the features, the A Team seems to have been updated with Transformers.

Nice warm day, plenty of people, friendly and helpful staff, and you feel like you are really in Diagon Alley! Splurge and buy a wand. You will be able to use it at numerous spots along the way to activate things in the windows of shops. And don’t miss the book that will try to bite you!

This was my favorite part of Universal studio. Both rides were a blast. My face hurt from giggling so much! The tour walk through the castle felt like you were in the movie!

You're truely at Hogwarts. It's like being there. It so realistic. The candy shop and wand shop are magical. Have a butter beer at the 3 broomsticks. Walk through the alleys and immerse yourself in everything Harry Potter.

If you are a fan of Harry Potter, don't loose the opportunity to feel that you are inside a movie. Great experience, although the waiting time was too much.

Was an exhilarating Ride with lots of the harry potter excitement. A magical Ride and the castle experience is great.

I love Harry Potter and have read all the books and seen all the movies. But my husband hasn't and even he found it amazing. He went on the Harry Potter Ride 4 times. Just like walking into Hogs-mead and the castle is amazing. Great souvenirs too and they even have Butter Beer which is yummy.

Harry Potter wizarding world was an easy five out of five from start to finish. The park is Disney esque and everything is perfectly harmonised. Rides were fun, park was clean, staff helpful, food range was good.

This was one of the beat exhibitions at Universal Studios and was well worth taking the time to visit. My children enjoyed it but my 3 year old was a bit scared.
Heaps of fun things to do and well themed

This venue is a village within Universal where you can purchase Harry Potter schwag and even get a magic wand. The ride is really one of the best at Universal. There is usually a line but worth it. It is great fun!

I thibk of this HP world as a taster. It's tiny compared to Florida but Hogwarts is still impressive. I wouldn't go to Universal jus to to see this but obviously if you are there anyway then why not.

Must visit if you are a Harry Potter fan and in Universal studios. At the entrance there is Hogwarts express and a station master who you can get a picture with. Station master was really good and made us pose in different styles. The architecture and set up will transport you to the Harry Potter world. Rides were awesome, thanks to the express pass we did not have to wait in line. Wait time for general admission was around 200 minutes (we were there during peak holiday time)!!!
Make sure you go to the wand makers shop and watch the presentation, express pass doesn’t work there but we went towards the end when it wasn’t very crowded.
The magic of Christmas show at Hogwarts castle was too good, we watched it twice :). Picture is attached but it does not do justice to what the real view was.
All in all an absolute must visit and simply magical.

Get there early or you will have to queue, it a very fast ride takes you round and around made me feel sick but very good .

We visited WWHP in February 2018 with our children ages 7, 7, and 10. Our oldest daughter is a huge Harry Potter fan and she absolutely loved this area of the park. We all agreed that the Forbidden Journey dark ride inside the Hogwarts castle is one of the best rides we've ever been on. We rode it over and over again, as it wasn't very busy the day we were there and we could just get off the ride and quickly go through the line again. Our littles daughter was too short for this ride, so we used the rider switch line. There is a neat little Harry Potter-themed room off to the side where little ones can wait with a parent for rider switch. The attention to detail inside the castle must be commended. The Flight of the Hippogriff roller coaster is a small, short ride; perfect for smaller kids to be able to enjoy with the grown-ups. Also great for people who want to participate, but may not LOVE rides. It's a fun little roller coaster and is over before you know it.
Try some Butterbeer and buy a wand from the wand shop. It's a lot of fun roaming the streets and casting spells with the interactive wand. Overall, I wish we'd had more time to spend in the WWHP. If you get a chance, check it out!

It was my first time in this place and I was just astonished. All the details they made, while building this whole place. You can walk around in Hogsmeade, or take a ride on the rollercoaster or go through Hogwarts, where you can see the classrooms, Dumbledores office and then take a seat in a ride where you have an adventure with Harry and his friends.

My family really enjoyed the Harry Potter Wizarding World at Universal! Every detail was just as imagined! Many gifts unique to the Harry Potter world and much to browse through and experience! Florida has the train connecting different parts which is an excellent experience as well! You can spend hours just looking, experiencing and believing!

There is so much detail in this ride that sometimes I don't mind the wait. You feel like you are in Hogwarts. Even the smallest things you would never imagine.. I see something new every time I am in line.

Just walking through the area is amazing if you are familiar with Harry Potter. If you get one of the special wands from Ollivanders, there are specific locations that you can do spells with the wand throughout the Harry Potter area. They have lots of other wizards and witches throughout the area to help you with the different spells. The Forbidden Journey ride is amazing and it is worth it to be in line as the details they have throughout the castle are done really well!

Family of Harry Potter fans visited in August and we weren't disappointed. Hogsmead is amazing and we wandered around for ages taking in all the little details.
The main Forbidden Journey rides was incredible, although it can be prone to breaking down. Luckily we had fast passes so went on this ride about 10 times throughout the day.
The Hippogriff ride is really for younger children (mine are 14 and 11).
This was somewhere we had wanted to visit for some time and it lived up to the hype.

My daughter and I absolutely love Harry Potter and we thoroughly enjoyed the park in Universal. We went to the one in Florida right after it opened, and this one is the same layout. It seemed bigger, but may have been because there were less people. We went on both the rides, did the wand experience and ate a delicious lunch in The Three Broomsticks. No day is complete without a butter beer—I prefer the frozen one!

This is the Harry Potter experience that Britain should have but doesn't. I know Warner Brothers studio in Leavesden has real sets but it only has a model of Hogwarts whereas this place has practically the real thing.
The whole Hogsmeade environment is great and even somehow feels cooler than the rest of the park, even though it was over 30C when we visited. As people have said, the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride is the best of the two, using Hogwarts castle as its entry point. The virtual reality ride is great and takes you to a Quidditch match at one point 'Trying to impress your Muggle mates, Potter?'

If your a fan of Harry Potter books, movies, and characters then this is for you and your family. The only issue I had was the Roller-coaster, long line which we skipped using the Express Pass, but the length of the ride lol, legit was like 1 minute and 20 second long! Short ride with a long long line lol!!!!!

My ten year old son is a huge Harry Potter fan and he loved everything about this attraction. We had a two day pass to Universal Studios and he asked to go back to Harry Potter several times. There are rides, places to eat, butter beer to buy, people to meet, and gift shops. Go during the week if possible, because the lines get very long on the weekends.

The best experience ever! I would def ride again and again. The light show was amazing and the butterbeer even better!

Expect crowds so you'll prepared to wade through lots of people and stand in some long lines. But don't let that dampen your fun. Harry Potter world had a lot of interesting features and was where we spent most of our time. However, I will say that I'm glad I didn't buy my own magic wand. The kids used theirs to make certain features work but, after seeing them do the "spells" once or twice, I didn't feel a need to try it again myself. Walking through the shops was fun. Those who really love Harry Potter will find this to be a wonderful place to spend their time. Everyone else (like myself) will still find this to be an interesting attraction. The level of detail is amazing. I suggest visiting during the day and then later again at night, if possible. The pumpkin juice was fun to try but I preferred the butter beer--you can order it hot, cold, or frozen. We also ate at the Three Broomsticks, which was better than I expected.

I first visited Universal Studios in 1978 it was the second theme park of that trip, the first being the original Disneyland at Anaheim. I am happy to say that Universal Studios has changed in tune with the times now being a 21st Century theme park.
The visit was a weekday in late February so the crowds were not too bad. There were queues but not too long, having got here with prepaid express pass tickets, and the intention of getting early entry to one of the biggest draw cards The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Early entry is 9:30am (general admission 10:00am) for this time of year.
The first stop was of course The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, at this point I have to say that the village that was used for shooting The Warner Brothers film (Goathland, North Yorkshire) does not bear any resemblance to the Hogsmeade at Universal. Having said that though I thoroughly enjoyed the re-invention because if you have read the books without knowing the ‘real’ film locations what has been created here is exactly what I would have expected it to have been. Olivander’s Wand shop, with lessons in Wandlore, grab a photo with the Hogwarts Express and the Station Master at Hogsmeade Station, Zonko’s Joke Shop, Butter Beers and of course the highlight Hogwarts School, scaled down but looking impressive, and the interactive ride enclosed within its walls and its stunning use of CGI will totally blow you away. Watch out for the moving portraits!
Note: if you suffer from any sort of motion sickness I don’t recommend it
After I got my sense of balance back it was a photo opportunity with the Gryffindor Quidditch Team and then off to buy a Gryffindor scarf for my upcoming trip to Canada.
Then it was time to use the express pass and get on the famous Studio Tour, it didn’t disappoint, a really extensive drive round the large back lots with commentary and several set pieces including an earthquake, flood, dinosaurs, shark (under renovation), and a grand finale with the Fast and Furious Team.
Other highlights where the express pass came in useful were the Special Effects show and the Water World Stunt Show both great entertainment, the former being quite an eye opener. There are numerous food outlets all themed it seemed with the part of the park you were in. And a big highlight is the many opportunities of getting a selfie with Marilyn Monroe, Scooby Doo, Shrek, and many, many, more celebrity look a likes.
The park is easy to get to from Downtown/ Union Station/ Hollywood, just find a connection with the RED line metro heading to Hollywood North and hop off at Universal City/ Studio, follow the signs for the Universal Shuttle and wait at the Shuttle bus stop for a free ride to the main entrance.
I booked online in advance getting a 10% discount for doing so and paid a little more to get the one time Express Pass, also it avoids the ticket booth queues. plus a better chance of an early entry. Just be aware that at some popular attractions like Ollivander’s Wand Shop there isn’t an Express Queue. For me It was advantageous to use the pass a total of four times;
The entry price isn’t cheap, but at the end of the day Universal is putting on one hell of a show, and everybody that worked there seemed well coached in keeping the visitors happy. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was okay value for money, but I think each group or individual will make their own judgement on that particular issue.

We used Universal Express passes - and they were so worth the extra cost for a one day visit! The Harry Potter section made my daughter’s birthday unforgettable. Great memories!

It is EVERYTHING. Everything? E-VE-RY-THANG!!!!
Only thing that could have been better, is if they threw Hogwarts acceptance letters at everyone!

The gift shop was overpriced and the locker system for the ride was annoying! They make you store your stuff in a locker when you could easily take your belongings on the ride with you. The butterbeer was good.

to be in this place is to feel the movie that i have watched over and over again..i simply love harry potter!..i am not a child though but the experience was so exhilarating!

I love Harry Potter and I always have fun here but its the only thing I really like at Universal other than the Jurassic Park/World ride. HP World is very small -- basically two rides and then a lot of shops and a pub. I love it.

We really enjoyed this despite the long line for the main ride. We didn't get the skip the line pass as we didn't actually plan on doing many rides having no kids with us. I would recommend the pass for anyone under the age of 25. It did give us the opportunity to really have a good look around the castle as there was lots of little things to make the experience authentic. Butterbeer was a bit overrated but you should get one to share.

This is the best part of the park imo, with the most attention to detail. It is very crowded. It needs more seating, more shade, and a bathroom. The butterbeer is excellent, at least.

They did a great job of replicating the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" at Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios in Orlando. I wouldn't consider myself a big Harry Potter fan and my family really enjoyed this attraction. The details that you will notice especially for big fans of this character.
When you step into this area you will feel like you stepped into one of the Harry Potter movies. It has everything you would want and can imagine. The Hogwarts Castle is unbelievable! I would recommend riding and checking out every ride and attraction and they also have live performers (check the map for times of the shows). They offer beverages and snacks that you will recognize from the movies.
When you step inside this world expect a lot of people and long lines unfortunately but you won't be disappointed after each experience. The cost into Universal is worth it to a true fan of Harry Potter just to get the full experience of this area alone. Plus you get to check out everything else Universal has to offer (once it opens back up due to the virus).
No better way to experience Harry Potter than visiting the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter." If you go you won't regret it!

The rides were trashy and the crowds were too many. We spent a lot of time wasting in the lines here. There are much better rides in the theme park and I would prefer sipping Harry Potter nonsense going forward.

We were lucky enough to have our young grand daughters (dressed as wizards & waving wands) with us & the looks on their faces as they performed magic was a sight to behold. We also went on the 'ride' - & we didn't realise that broomsticks travelled SO FAST!!! Also enjoyed our English fare lunch at 'Three Broomsticks'! Most memorable!!

We visited universal, excited to go to Harry potter world as we where there when it started gettin built back in 2009,we were amazed how real it looked but it was as you can imagine crazy busy.
We decided to join the queue for the ride that was inside Hogwarts, and that was then when it all went wrong ....once inside we were following the line of people waiting patiently when an announcement came over the tannoy explaining that there was a technical issue and the ride was temporarily shut down,ok no problem it'll soon be up and running......an hour later still in the same spot and having heard the same announcement 10 or so times it was clear that the "technical issue was far greater than they anticipated....almost 2 hours later and still nothing we had had enough and found an emergency exit and left, the annoying thing is when we got outside they were STILL LETTING PEOPLE JOIN THE QUEUE!!!

So much to see and do. Great for kids (and kids at heart) - didn't buy a wand but think for the potter-philes visiting Olivanders and taking the wand on a tour of hogsmeade would be amazing. Trying and see at night if you can!

My kids love this place, I enjoyed our visit very much. If you are a potter fan than this is definitely a must!

This is immensely realistic and amazing. It honestly feels like you are in the books and movies. The attention to details is just perfect, from the crashed car in the second movie to the sorting hat, dumbledor’s office and so on. The wait to the attraction is an entire experience.
Then, the attraction itself : it’s my personal favorite. Universal is not about rollercoasters and sensational drops and all, but Harry Potter gives you a bit of sensations, while perfectly reproducing the HP world.
Make sure you go there early in the morning so there’s not a lot of waiting, it’s 100% worth it.

This is a must in the Universal Park, you are going to feel inside the Harry Potter World, and even drink some butterbeer

The decorations are amazing! The ride was great, I did it 2 times :D the atmosphere is great and you feel like a true wizard :D

You literally think you’re on the movie set here. There is something to see in every part of the long line so that it doesn’t seem like you’re waiting forever.

I already went to the Orlando WWOHP & I had to keep my expectations lower for the Hollywood one since it’s much much smaller.
Overall what is there is very detailed. There is Hogsmeade Village & Hogwarts castle.
The forbidden journey ride is in the castle. & while you wait in line you get a tour of the castle. You see the glass jars with the colored jewels tracking points for the houses, the pensieve, the fat lady, sorting hat, & can listen to the people in various paintings have conversations. Then you see holograms of the golden trio setting up the storyline for the ride.
The shops and storefronts are very cool to look at. You can see all the details from the books in the decor.
Also throughout the day, there will be various performers. We saw the school choir, & we saw the students from the triwizard tournament.
I also had an interactive wand, which I used around Hogsmeade to cast spells. Mostly the wand made things move, but it also lit a fire & unlocked a door. The interactive wand costs $50.
You can also line up outside of Ollivander’s wand shop to go to a wand choosing ceremony. It’s hokey but cute. One person in the crowd is chosen to be fitted for a wand.
The frozen butterbeer has to be the best thing there. It’s like a cream soda slushie with a butterscotch marshmallow topping.
You will hear moaning myrtle in the bathrooms too!
The hogs head pub also has real beer, as well as butter beer & pumpkin juice. I did not like the pumpkin juice.
We ate lunch at the Three Broomsticks. It was super greasy but tasted good!
There are only 2 rides in WWOHP, one of which is more of a kiddie roller coaster. This place is more about the experience & best appreciated by Potterheads!

This is pretty small, and not that special, especially compared to its Florida counterpart. Still worth a visit, but Harry Potter fans should got to the Florida location.

If your a Harry potter can then this is a .just do, two good rides, Hogwarts casle, magic door, shops, sweets , wands, train, everything you want.

I loved everything about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter except two things. First, I was with my 6 year old son and he insisted on me buying a magic wand. It was $56 for this wand. I felt like if I didn't buy the wand I would never hear the end of it. It turns out the wand was hard to use and it makes more sense to find another kid with a wand and just watch them use it. You don't need to have your own wand to see how it works. I definitely regret buying it. The other thing I didn't like was the ride inside the castle. I was given the impression the ride was very tame and low key. That didn't turn out to be the case. If you don't like roller coasters, flying in airplanes, heights or just have a tendency to get motion sickness this ride is not for you. The other thing is you need to put your bags in a locker and I felt like that was a big hassle. It makes sense for you to not have a bag in the ride but dealing with the locker was not fun.
What I loved about WWOHP was that it made me feel like a kid. The craftsmanship of the buildings is unbelievable. I was in awe of how perfect everything looked. I truly felt like I was in a charming English town during the winter. It's a feel good place. I can't wait to return soon.

The outside looks amazing. We waited in line for a very long time (which I usually don't mind) thinking we were in line for a Harry Potter Ride. Once inside, we watched one child be fitted for a wand (which there is no way his parents are escaping without buying that wand for him) and then ushered into the wand shop where the cheapest is $50USD. I can't believe we waited in line for that! It's pretty special for that one child, but not for everyone else. It is not a ride and not worth waiting in line for. We were so disappointed in having to wait so long for that, that we decided to leave. There was no way we were going to risk waiting another 2hrs for anything else that could possibly be that disappointing. Wands are minimum $50 and robes are minimum $100. Poor parents...
I found the whole park disappointing, stick to Disneyland.

The views of the castle are incredible. The store fronts are well thought out. Check the line times and get the express pass if possible, but do pay attention to the details in the queue. Sit in the back for Flight of the Hippogriff if possible, although the very front has the best views.

This a great area of Universal even if you’re not superfans.
The Forbidden Journey ride is great, but the flight of the hippogriff ride is very short and slightly disappointing.
The set is great, and realistic. Only visit Ollivanders if you’re happy to pay $65 for a wand, because your children will definitely want one after the experience, especially if they’re the “chosen one”! The interactive wands are great.
Butterbeer is around $9.50. The foam topping is very sweet and you can probably share one between 2 of you.

This place really looks like you've stepped into the land.. and the butterbeer is great (if a little sweet). Fun!

This ride is by far the best ride in Universal Studios Hollywood. The lines are excruciatingly long but the ride is worth it. I can say I preferred this ride over the Disney Avatar attraction

A VERY popular place at Universal Studios. It was worth it to pick this first when the park opened (buy ahead to get early entry). The ride lines will be short. You can then shop the stores at your leisure.

We opted for the VIP Experience, thinking it was solely for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. However, we saw everything but Harry Potter until we left the group and explored on our own. Harry Potter World was great but we didn't get to see much of it because, by the time we finally found it and began to explore it, it was late afternoon and I was getting tired. I would go back again but not get the VIP Experience again. That was disappointing!

Bye far best at the park was the Harry Potter castle and the village. So breathtaking. We got to the park at noon and stayed until it closed at 6. We had a great time.

Simply amazing, it takes your breath away. Beautifully designed and built, captures the authenticity so well, it likes walking through a storybook. Visitors dress as Harry Potter characters too. It was Amazing!

It was super fun, especially for the kids. First, we went to the show where they act a scene from the Harry Potter movie where Harry Potter was choosing his magical stick that he can control magic with it we went to the rollercoaster where it flips and move super fast. Then we went to the right where we can see what exactly happened to the movie it’s like you I was Harry Potter and his friends and this was the kids most favourite part and last we ate a very delicious meal. I like this place so so much.

I did not enjoy my trip to universal Hollywood.
Harry Potter was the best part of the visit. It really is cool and very realistic. The rides could be better.

We've been to the both this one before and the one in Orlando. It's very unimpressive compared to the 2 parks in Orlando, so if you have the opportunity of doing California or Florida, pick Florida definitely. It's good to know the magic wands work in both places. We bought ours in Orlando and used them here.
The place was really busy when we went and we struggled to get a spot to watch the light show in the evening. Make sure you are standing close to the stage area to get the best viewing spot.
The price of butter beer is exorbitant ($8 USD a cup), but still probably the best thing about the place.

Any amazing place even if you are not a diehard Harry Potter fan. The ride is he best of all the rides I’ve been on in Universal, Disney or SeaWorld. So much time and effort has been spent on the attraction

I went to Universal Studios, mainly because I'm a Harry Potter fan, and this place was hands down amazing. It was definitely crowded, and ride waits were sometimes pretty long, but I do not regret seeing this at all.
The Forbidden Journey ride was one of my favorite overall at Universal Studios. It's exciting and thrilling, and they way it works is amazing. The Flight of the Hippogriff roller coaster was exciting too, but it was a short ride for a long wait. But I loved it! The rest of the little attractions there where great as well, and never boring.
I loved the butterbeer and the other amazing snacks available there. The gift shops were pricey, but their items were cool! The people working there were super friendly. This was definitely the highlight of my trip to Universal Studios! I 100% recommend checking it out- it's truly amazing!
Thanks for reading, I hope this helps. Don't hesitate to ask questions! ~ Travel Reviews with MB

I'd been wanting to come since it opened, but was waiting because of the price. It's an expensive day, but totally worth it. The recreation of the town and shops is so charming, they have plenty of staff all over the place to help you and answer questions. We went in December, so it was decorated for Christmas, just beautiful. The food was good in the restaurant, and I even got a cupcake with a witches hat at the sweet shop. I loved the presentation of how a wand picks you, and the wand shop was so delightful! I would love to go back one day.

it is a very long wait but it is worth it, I went on it 3 times, great for the kids, they will experience a whole new world around them.

Make sure that you visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios as it is just incredible!!!!!
We had the most amazing time and loved every second. It was the ultimate Harry Potter experience.

There are no details left to the imagination here! Your experience the wizard of world as if you’re actually there (if it actually existed that is!).

I really had my hopes up for this one as everything I had heard made it sound incredible. I felt that it was good but not amazing

Seeing this at Christmas time was worth the horrible crowds!! I wish they had room for a Diagon Alley! The light show at Hogwarts Castle was spectacular. Hot butterbeer......a must try.

As a longtime Harry Potter fan, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was the number one reason I wanted to visit Universal Studios Hollywood. Overall, my feelings were mixed. There's plenty to love, but also many things I felt could've been done better.
Great:
• The exteriors of Hogsmeade, the Hogwarts Express and the castle are gorgeous. Between that, the detail of the window displays and the amount of staff and visitors wearing robes of different types you do feel instantly transported into that magical world.
Mixed:
• There is a wealth of merchandise on offer. Loads of clothes, wands, stationery and sweet things. Browsing the shops was enjoyable, however, it got to be very repetitive and I felt that there was a missed opportunity here to do something more creative. Besides the Ollivander wand picking experience there was nothing inside the buildings but shopping/eating - it would've been great to have something else to explore/watch/do inside.
• The Flight of the Hippogriff is a good ride, but it's much too short in my opinion. Good for kids, but less for adults.
Poor:
• I thought Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was a really poor ride. I suffer from motion sickness, so the fact that it induced that certainly didn't help. But even besides that it was such a let down that the ride relied so heavily on screens. And all the more disappointing by contrast to the gorgeous Hogwarts interior where you queue for the ride!

Fantastic place, when you visit make sure you take a lot of money because you are going to want to buy everything !!! It is very tidy and the lines move fast, do not forget your cameras as there are unique spaces for photographs and do not miss the night show!
It is better to buy your ticket online it is cheaper, Super recommended !!!

Sorry, don't hate me Potter fans. I did enjoy the area. It's a nice job and you feel a bit like your in that world. You enter that part of the park and your see the train. Waking thru it's like the movie. I just felt that I was being sold something at every turn. Limited rides. The Harry Potter ride, VERY fun ! But over all, just your average experience over all in that part of the park.

The whole place takes you right in the movie set. Everything looks realistic, from the snow on the roofs, the talking pictures and shop windows.

One of the greatest parts of the Universal Studios Hollywood.
Loved the Hogsmeade village and the Three Brooms restaurant.
Butterbeer is a must try (although its crazy expensive - like everything else). The flight of the hippogryph one of the best rides in the park.

Visiting the wizarding world of Harry Potter for the first time was even more fun than we had imagined it would be. Every shop, store and ride was breathtaking. Around every corner you'll feel like a Hogwarts first year. Be sure to browse every store. Stay to watch the beautiful girls of Beauxbaton perform their dance followed by Durmstrung's young men. Hope they keep enlarging this area of the park.

This ride is the most exciting ride in Universal Studio which takes you to a new virtual world..Unbelievably thrilling and crosses all imagination

Once again blown away by Universals Harry Potter area of the park. The attention to detail is amazing and just makes you feel like you are right there with Harry. The shops especially the sweet shop and wand shop are so well done and the children loved the wand magic outside all the shops. Not as large as Orlando but still loved it.

The Harry Potter Magic Park in Universal Studios, Los Angeles is a pilgrimage destination for fans.
The environmental layout of the park, fully replicating the situation and atmosphere in the book,<禁忌之旅> the design is also a game Harry Potter rides the magic stick to lead everyone up the mountains and down the sea to avoid the chase~~
In the park there is Hogwarts Castle, Wizard Supplies Shop, Slopes, Wizard Clothing Shop;
Selling super-drinking "Honey beer" dining cart, restaurant, and regular dance performances~~
Visit the old half-day interesting park~~

Love the Wizarding World of Harry Potter - I was excited to see this had been added to Universal Studios Hollywood after experiencing it and loving it at Universal Florida. Wasn't disappointed - in my view the best part of the park - the attention to detail is incredible, ride thrilling enough to keep the whole family interested. Locker system worked well. Butter beer seemed better than last time and moaning Myrtle in the ladies loo a great addition.

Doesn’t have anything compared to Universal Florida and the price of admission is totally out of range

The Kids Loved doing majic with their wands, Scary rides following Harry potter through and aroung
Hogwarts, dragons included.

Very much worth the price. It was everything we expected it to be and a good opportunity to spend time With other Harry Potter fans.

Butter Beer is overpriced. Grab some straws and share. If traveling with adults and you don't mind riding alone, use the single rider line to cut down the wait time onto the rides. Take the time to fully visit the village. So many small details makes this area so awesome.

Butter beer. That is all you need to know and do in this part of universal studios. You can get either a cold one or a frozen one. Personally, I prefer the frozen one.
There are lots of shops selling wizarding items and mementos if you are into that kind of thing. For me, it was all for the butter beer.

I personally do not really enjoy Harry Potter but when I visited it, it was a great attraction. There was pretty good details on the castle and of course the Butter Beer was a good experience.

Granted, you might get a little dizzy on this ride, I think this is the ride with the most innovative use in technology.

All the Potteriada fans would love this place :) Were waiting a little bit long , but that worth the time

If you are a Harry Potter fan this this surely must be the holy grail of amusement parks. Incredibly well put together. Like walking onto the set in some places. It was very busy but imagine this will reduce in years to come.

Loved the whole area it is awesome! You really got the feeling your in Potter land! And the ride is amazing!

This blew us away, it was so much fun! The shops, Hogwarts castle, the Flight of the Hippogriff ride, all of it. Really fun! It gets crowded, head here early!

We were really excited and loved the experience. There are interactive corners of the park where you can "cast spells" if you buy a magic wand. The castle looks amazing and you can buy butter beer and go on the rides.

Amazing place and amazing place and etc etc... You can feel yourself in a dream. Very demanding workmanship and all the staff weared clothes from Harry Potter style. We went back there three times during one day visit.
The magic wands are so expensive.

A lot of shops where you can find many stuff related to HP. There is also the opportunity to do magic by yourself, if you will buy the magic wand in special Ollivander's shop. Amazing attraction inside the castle, but there is a really big line to reach the castle. The butterbeer is wonderful - you can buy it in ordinary plastic cup or in special souvenir cup which you can bring with you to home.

This place is so fun to go through. We got to see the holiday light show they do with the castle and it was amazing!

The butter beers are tasty and the atmosphere was great. The shows are fantastic. Well worth a visit.

went to hogwarts for the first time! Tried the butterbeer, it was good but left a strange film like taste in my mouth all day no matter what else I ate. food at the three broomsticks was very overpriced. flight of the hippogriff is very much a kids ride but still really fun. The main harry potter ride was also fun but it was a simulation which makes me nauseated. Not as immersive of an experience just walking around as I would have liked.

We enjoyed our visit to Hogswart. It was crowded and as there are only 2 rides, the lines can be hours long without very expensive Express Passes. Be prepared to spend a lot of money but it is a special experience!

So we love Harry Potter. The movies, the books and the plays. Walking into this area of the park made us giddy and excited. Loved everything from butter beer, restaurants and atmosphere. The main "walk thought" experience was fun, but average. Had way too much fun in the wizard wand shop. No really! And loved the service of having our wands sent to the exit of the park, so we didn't have to carry them around with us to other rides.

Hands down the best ride in Universal Studios Hollywood. I would recommend to go on this ride first thing as queues will get very long very quickly!!

Great night show for harry potter just have to wait for it to get dark. Displayed right on the harry potter the ride. I bought a season pass since I live in L.A. so have been back several times.

Loved the rides in Harry Potter's world the whole place is very well done. Thought the souvenirs and jewelry were overpriced so had to give that a miss. Don't understand why we have to be ripped off on these things.

Highlight of our day. They did a great job recreating Hogsmead. A plus on the interactive wands. The light show at night was awesome. My youngest son loved the ride, unfortunately I was not able to ride due to the video aspect, makes me motion sick.
The only thing I wish was a better selection of merchandise.

Where else can you buy a Magic potion get a new Wand and Cast A Spell on your World! My Children got me into Harry Potter and the many, many adventures he’s led us on Since they were 3. Now 19 & 23 they still love Harry Potter and I do too. My Wife has read all the books more than once and each of the girls have too. I prefer the Movies, but that’s just me. To actually be at Universal and See something new around every corner is gotta be a good reason to get yourself off the couch and have some fun. Then you’ve still got the rest of The Park to go and enjoy. Buy a season pass while their on sale and go as often as you want. If not your missing out!

From the moment you enter The Wizarding World, you are transported into JK Rowling's enchanting stories. Hogwarts is there in all its glory, and you can shop or have a butter beer in Hogsmeade--complete with snow covered roofs. The rides (especially the one starting in Hogwarts) puts you in the middle of the action, with all your favorite characters interacting with you along the way.

Castle ride was great. Super busy. Free locker usage for 90 mins, no bags allowed on the ride, you must lock up for stuff. The other rollercoaster is super quick ride, like 1 min worth. Lots of little shops, super pricey. 119. For a robe. The singing toads show was really good.

Enjoyed this theme park..if you are a Harry Potter fan then its definitely all your visual dreams come true. Loved it.

Great experience, would go back for another ride in a heartbeat! All attractions had something special to see and experience for Harry Potter fans

We did the VIP Experience, and we loved it! We went on this ride a few times, and loved it every time!

The Xmas lite show on the castle was Fantastic. Crowded but not to bad. Worth the time. Also rode the Harry Potter ride. Was very jerky and a lot of visual movement. You can get motion sickness if you are not careful. But it was fun.

The Harry Potter world is so authentic. Walk through the Hogsmeade village with a Butter beer, visit the wand shop and the spots where you can do magic yourself. There is the very realistic Hogwarts express at the entrance. The castle is so realistic from Madame Pomfreys garden of plants to Dumbledores office with holograms and moving paintings. The ride inside the castle takes you into the world of magic. It is truly an experience to visit the Wizarding world of Harry Potter. I highly recommend it! I've been here at least 3 times, any time anyone visits me.

First visit to Wizarding World of HP in LA, and had much fun when I visited WWHP Japan. I enjoyed the Harry Potter ride and tried the Flight of the Hippogriff. Don't forget to try the butterbeer, I tried both cold and frozen. Opt to pay additional so you can keep the plastic mug.

Great butter beer! Great ride! Loads to see and photo opportunities around every corner. Super busy though, so get in early.

What an experience, and the Harry Potter ride is amazing, we had to take it several times because the kids loved it. They all said they will remember it for life!

Writing this review much later than our trip which was last fall. I absolutely loved the Harry Potter ride through the castle, it was so stunning and thrilling, I begged my 12 yo son to go again!
What I didn't love however, was Olivander's wand shop.
It's incredibly manipulative to trap parents into buying wands for their child after experiencing what the wand shop offers. My son was "chosen" but was too shy, so I did it, all the while, not knowing that at the end of the 15 min experience, they would try to trap me in the shop, present us with wands to choose from, my son thought it would be FREE because we were "chosen", I thought we would at least get a discount or something "special", but no, they were charging $60+ for a plastic wand that would work its "magic" only at the park. Of course, my son begged for it. But I said no. And of course, that caused a mini meltdown. But why set visitors up like that??? I was furious at these people. It's purposely set up to get kids to beg their parents who were tricked into thinking they were getting a free or discounted wand. If we had just wandered into the shop without the "experience" with the wands and actors, it wouldn't have been such an ordeal for my 12 autistic son to understand.

I was shocked by how unimmersive this is, you just walk into it. It is nothing like a surprise when you go into Orlando. It is set up similarly but a lot smaller with only 1 street.

Every time I visit Universal Hollywood, I always make sure that I stop off at Hogsmeade. The layout of this place makes navigating around really easy and it never feels as crowded as it actually is.
First thing to do is try the butter beer, granted it's expensive for what it is but it's one of those things that you have to try since you're there! (I mean what's an extra $20 for a butter beer after you've spent more than enough on a ticket for universal hey)
If you're happy to walk around with it for a while then get the frozen version as it lasts a lot longer but does take what feels like an age to melt. The alcoholic version literally has a shot of fireball whiskey in it and is not worth the extra $10-$15 or whatever I paid for it.
I've visited this place 3 times (all around October/November) and I've never had to question for any of the rides. Flight of the hippogriff is primarily for children but it's still enjoyable as an adult for the 60ish seconds the main attraction if inside Hogwarts! Quite simply, Harry Potter and the forbidden journey is incredible and I make sure to experience this every time I visit!

It's like I was in the movie. It's so brilliantly done. You have to try the butter beer (no, there's no beer in it....it's made its caramel) and its totally quenching.

The ride was very fun, but long wait time. The light show here at night was worth watching. Great experience!

The city is perfectly designed, with details that allude to the film, and is happy to tour it. The games are good, especially the one inside the castle, plus an outside roller coaster, not very high but still frantic.

If you love Harry Potter there is no way you can miss this. The attention to detail and quality of the Hogsmeade is second to none. Get yourself some butterbeer, shop for all the HP souvenirs and get assessed for a wand! Its like being a part of the HP world

Nice one in Universal Studios.
But be careful it is always very busy.
To see the model town even enough I think.

I mean this is the closest thing to being in the world of Harry Potter! Don't drag your friends who have never read the books or are not a fan. They won't get it and won't love the wait!

I had the best time ever! I'm 49 years old and felt like a little kid. Everything was so realistic, people that worked there were so into character, that I actually felt like I was at Hogwarts and Hogsmeade.

Had a free day in California before heading to Arizona so we went to universal studios. Parking was reasonably priced, long walk to ticket booth but okay. Lines were insanely long, first security, then line to purchase ticket, then line to enter park and finally lines to get on tram ride. The worst was the wait time for the Harry Potter rides-180 minutes!!! Weather and timing not conducive to waiting even with the misters going full blast. I noticed the wait times seemed to be shorter nearer closing time and we did enjoy our visit but if I ever return it won’t be on a summer morning.

This looks like Harry Potter and is a load of fun. The Wizarding world ride is great and the kids can buy an interactive wand for about $53 dollars (another $35 if you want a stand to display it on after) and cast "spells" in places which is great. The world is fun and well done, and opens half an hour earlier than the rest of the park. Enjoy Olivanders Wand chosing ceremony as well.

My kids really enjoyed this and so it was the one saving grace of our trip to LA because I think I made the wrong choices for some of the things we chose to do but now I know for next time.

Kids who read Harry Potter will love this place as they can see the wizard village come alive. They have the wand shop, and two rides. The wizarding world ride with quidditch games on screen is amazing. The wait times range from 50 mins to 90 mins for this ride. It is also lit dimly and folks may require extra light especially seniors who are trying to walk the path. Keep checking the app as the wait time reduces.

The harry potter ride is Awesome, but if you get motion sickness DONT go on it !! One ride was enough for me. We had to wait over an hour to get on the ride, it's very popular. the village looks real and so does the snow on the roofs.

We were visiting Universal for the day and spent a great deal of our time in The Wizarding World. We did not go on the ride because the wait was WAY too long, but it was fun walking around and seeing the light show on the castle. Expect is to be MOBBED so be zen if you go!

A hardcore Harry Potter fan must not miss this one! From the butter beer to the rides to the souvenir shops to live shows, this place needs to be made compulsory for muggles as well as wizards & witches. I was lost in the magical world and transported to Hogwarts and Hogsmead from the moment I stepped foot in this section.
I would certainly visit again and again and again and again if given opportunities!

This requires half a day in itself. We started here, right when the park opened. There are wands to purchase & you are given a map to do the interactive magic experience. We ran out of time going other stuff & didn’t get to do any of those. We had a VIP tour we had to get to. Our guide took pics of us in front of the castle.
The stores are decorated great. You really need to go into each one, even the food places. We wished we had done an owl post.
Butter Beer is a must, it’s $10/cup. Do not get the Butter Beer ice cream, it tasted like regular vanilla, not worth the $$.
I’m giving it 4 stars simply because we couldn’t do the whole thing.

I was really excited about this since this is the first time that I went to HP theme park. But it's kind of a dud. The Hogwarts Express which should be shiny bright red is dusty and dull. Hogsmeade is made into a station - which it isn't in the book. The flight of the Hippogriff is just a short roller coaster. We did the Forbidden Journey ride and I'm still not able to decide if the 90 minute wait in the heat was worth it. And yes, people with motion sickness and vertigo should stay away since the seat moves a lot and the 3D projection involves plunging down at high speeds from heights. While waiting to get to the rides, at one point, you enter the castle and the huge statues aren't even of famous characters. Some talking frames add to the effect and the lady at the Gryffindor common room has a 5 second dialogue.
The lines are so so lonng that by the end of an hour I wanted to find the nearest exit. We kept walking ahead in the line forever. Starting from the ground floor to the first, into the castle and all the way in and I still couldn't see the ride. And the 4 min or so ride at the end of it doesn't seem to balance it out. They should do something about reducing the lines. The ride, I think, can take very limited people in one go and hence the lines move very very slowly.
Whether you want to go on this ride is your decision now. (You need to check in your stuff in lockers at the beginning since the ride has scope only for your phone - maybe- to be in your pocket. With so much of movement and you holding on for dear life, there is no scope for anything else. We left our phones in the locker since we had no pockets and have no photos)

Whether you’re a fan of Harry Potter or not, you can't help but be impressed with the scale and attention to detail in everything here. From the buildings to the characters (roaming around) and the food vendors to merchandise stores, everything is incredibly detailed and realistic.
You truly feel like you are walking around Harry Potters world with many cool interactive elements to enhance your experience. Just walking through the castle to get to the rides you get fully immersed in the Harry Potter world and can’t help but feel like you’re walking through the real Hogwarts Castle.
If you get thirsty grab a Butterbeer or Pumpkin Juice from Hogshead or one of the carts, if you get hungry head to Three Broomsticks Tavern or Honeydukes if you’re after something a little sweeter. On your way out stop by Ollivanders for your very own Wand, Zonko’s Joke Shop or Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods (or several other stores) for some fantastic Souvenirs.

They were building this when we were last at Universal studios and we knew we had to come back for a visit! The attention to detail in the building makes this place so realistic and fantastic. Its very grand and similar to what you would expect the real thing would look like. The gift shops sell amazing realistic stuff and its definitely a must see if you head to LA. There are 2 rides within the park - an outdoor roller coaster and a 4D ride inside the main castle which is what we did. Just walking through the castle to get to the ride was fantastic and so detailed. Will definitely be back!

As a Harry Potter fan- this is the place to visit! you really felt likr you were in the movie- the ride was amazing- the "town" ralistic!

This was ride experience like no other! A mix a thrills, digital and holograms. Ça décoiffe as we say in French! The line was LOOOONG as was the wait but once inside and despite the long line and wait, every room is enchanting and different. You never get bored in the line,it's impossible! À faire!!

This was a blast! Everyone young and old had a great time! You do need a locker so bring a small bag or nothing to avoid the lines.

A must for all Harry Potter fans. A recreation of a wizarding world that feels surreal. With fantastic rides and exhibitions, its a great way to spend the day with family and friends.

One of the best selfie backgrounds in Los Angeles, though will cost you close to a hundred bucks to get near it. The building is amazing. The Line is LONG AND SLOW, but really cool once you get inside this place. Feels like you're really in Hogwarts. I want to rent the place out for a private seance party if I ever win the lottery! But the ride itself...WELL, take those warnings seriously. If you have a bad back, bad neck, or just get motion sickness, DON'T go on this video/audio/sensory overload shaker that tosses you around, slams your head back and forth throws you upside down, all the while attacking your remaining senses with rock concert level sound and hard to focus on video. What the hell was it all about exactly? I have no idea! But the 6 year old with us loved it (he's never seen a Harry Potter movie by the way, but he sure as hell know what it is. And that he wants to be part of it!)
I'd much rather go to Waterworld show, or the backstage tram ride again.

Disclaimer: My kids and I are not crazy about Harry Potter. We've read some of the books and seen some of the movies but are not huge fans. That said, walking into The Wizarding World was pretty cool. Great attention to detail, a couple rides and lots of shopping. My boys thought the wand they were selling were really cool. If this is your jam, then you could probably spend a lot of time here and would love it like most people do. Another note, if you are more fluffy than thin make sure you try the "test seats" before standing in line. One of their rides in less than generous. At least this exercise in humiliation is a bit out of the way so not everyone will see if you can't fit in the ride.

Very fun experience; Hydration is very important so offeing water at a more reasonable price is recommended

Really nicely done and build! Great place for HP fans. Awesome details inside the castle in line for the ride. Great details outside (places to use your wand you've bought) and the show were the wand chooses it's wizard at Ollivanders.

One can feel the history as you enter and climb up and down throughout the ship. An app will describe it all. This is a must for history buffs since this was one of the four battleships so engaged in WW II and Pres Roosevelt spend a week on board

We haven't been to Universal for a long time so finally we decided to check the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We are a family of 4 (2 teens) and visited Universal the week between Christmas and New Year. Here are our impressions
- the recreation of Hogsmeade is quite impressive, you feel like you are in the movie, not much to do other than shop but it is worth to stroll the area
- the first day we visited Hogsmeaded was the 26th, it was a (very) cold and rainy day, so did the Harry Potter ride in the castle. The wait was only 30 minutes by 9am but it grew longer throughout the day.
- the Harry Potter ride is fine - the reproduction of the castle is nice, but the ride itself felt a bit overrated and somehow outdated (technology wise)
- the second day, the 27th, the rides for Harry Potter had a wait of about 3 hours (the weather was no longer rainy). We decided to go to other Universal attractions, and then watch the show of lights at night. By then, there is a line to get into Hogsmeade - in fact, you can't do much by that time because of the show, so plan your visit before 5pm
- the show of lights is fine and it is worth watching, but it is also ok to skip if the lines are too long
- our teens wanted to try "butter beer." It tastes like vanilla cream soda, or like root beer float without root beer. It's ok.
- souvenir stores are actually nice but you will be able to find the same items in the large store in the exit of the park
So, super cool area, felt like in the movie. The rides and attractions are fine, but lines are long, and I wouldn't mind missing them if the lines are 3 hour long.

We have been to Universal Studios in FL, so the Harry Potter world wasn't new to us. It seems like an almost exact copy of what is in FL but it is still fun to be walking through Hogsmeade and the shops. You do feel like you are part of the Harry Potter books.
The 2 rides couldn't be more different. One is a small roller coaster that is really not worth riding on. They really should do more with it. The other ride, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, can be pretty scary as you come really close to animatronic giant spiders and dementors. The ride mechanic is very cool and really not something you find in Disneyland.
The stores in Harry Potter World are exactly what you would expect. The wand shop has walls stacked with wand boxes from floor to ceiling. You can buy house cloaks or Quidditch team uniforms in another store. And of course there is Honeydukes, where you can get candy that is described in the books.

I went just to go here. I was happy just to be in that world for a day or two!!!! Butterbeer was awesome! Tried all 3 ways, (warm had too much cream for my lactose intolerance) and gained a few lbs because had to do the cold three times!

Perfect therapy for those who miss the Harry Potter movie release frenzy! Lots of shopping and the setting is very realistic.

An area in Universal Studios with a sensational ride which is an indoor roller coaster in the Hogwarts school castle. The place and also the roller coaster look like they sprang from the Harry Potter movies and you experience a rapid ride in suspended seats on the roller coaster. We were at Universal Studios early on, so we only had to wait 10 minutes on a busy day. By midday you had to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes.

It was my kids favorite part of universal which was their favorite part of our entire trip, so this was the cream of the crop! my full review is in my universal review, don't know why this is separate.

So good this ride . Very popular due to Premier ride in park. Be prepared for ques! Either get to the park on opening, fast pass . Times waiting do drop down to 30 minutes not for long. You can get unlimited ticket as well

My daughter age 12 is a "Potterhead" and couldn't get enough of Harry Potter World at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. She loved every minute of it.
Some tips:
1. Make sure to have poncho handy when it rains. It did both days we were there.
2. The new Hagrid ride: it was open first thing in the morning so we got to the entrance gate for Islands of Adventure at 0830 (the park opens at 9 am). We were riding at 1015 am, so not a bad wait at all. Definitely try to get on first thing in the morning. The line moves quite fast.
3. Universal express passes are worth every penny. So so much shorter lines than the regular lines. If you're already spending the big bucks for the trip, don't waste it on line.
4. Get a lanyard for your tickets. And then put two of them in back to back.

We recently visited Universal Studios in Los Angeles, and as Harry Potter fans our grandchildren were very excited to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Their eyes almost popped when we rounded the corner and there was Hogwarts in front of us, just as it was in the movies. We promptly had photos taken with the Hogwarts Express, and lined up to purchase Butterbeer.
Next was the Harry Potter ride. The youngest and oldest members of the family were not keen to do this ride, and in hindsight this was the right decision for them, as it was quite fast and intense, but great fun!
Though we didn’t purchase costumes in Wizarding World, we saw many fans dressed in a variety of very authentic looking costumes, which added to the amazing atmosphere.
Along with the many other enjoyable experiences at Universal Studios, WW ensured that our visit was unforgettable!

We did enjoy this visit. The ride is really good. Great if you are a child. We are an older generation and we enjoyed it just as much.

The detail is amazing!!! Could have stayed here all day!!
Great shops. Ride lines were painfully long but a definite must do!

It is smaller than the parks in Orlando but still lots of fun to visit. Not a fan of the butter beer though. Everything is designed really well and looks cool.

This is just one part of the Studio, but it is a great newish area with a terrific ride. The stores, etc. also do a great job of envoking the book. Enjoy the rest of the park as well!

If you are a Harry Potter fan this is a must. Make sure you splurge on the Butterbeer. It's worth every penny. Make sure you pay an Express Pass to bypass the lines. We were in and out of the lines in no time.

Probably one of the most clever rides we have ever been on. Get there early though as later in the day queue times can go up to 2 hours!

Visited Wizarding world of Harry Potter on Christmas Day. It was much anticipated with our group and once you walk into this area you truest are transported into another world. It is amazing how everywhere you look, to each small detail, you feel like your in another place. We ride the 2 rides, the Hogwarts ride, over a 2 hour wait. It was worth it though. We found out, that it’s best to go to this area first part of day, as it never gets less busy, trust me, go and get in there early. Must get-Butter Beer, yummy!! Stick around to see the different performances, very much like the movies and again, the staff do everything to make you feel transported into that world.

Absolute best second time there went on the forbidden journey 5 times in a row it was that good the whole area was amazing. Can't wait to experience it at Christmas time.

My Harry Potter-obsessed daughter loved this. The attention to detail is fantastic and the shops are great. The rides were fun - although there are only two in the area. Three Broomsticks was terrific for lunch - very well organised given the crowds and good food too.

I went on 2 times of each rides its amazing, lots of fun it feels real, like your on the movie lol. I loved it.

We were disappointed by the Wizarding World. One ride-through exhibit is truly exceptional, and I suppose makes it worth going. The shops are "OK", the other rides are a miss.

We absolutely love this part of the park, and go back every time we visit. The staff seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs, and seem to be Potter enthusiasts for the most part. I highly recommend getting an interactive wand so you can do all the spells hidden around Hogsmead. And be sure to visit Honeydukes and the Three Broomsticks! Visiting in the summer can cause cognitive dissonance (given all the snow around). The effect is better in winter, and the crowds are far less dense at that time of year.

It is really the place to visit the lay out and buildings are amazing spent all day going between the two and still finding things to see and do. Will be back next year as didn't get on Haggard ride as this (technical fault) was off that day. I m not a big roller coaster fan but love Gringotts and the special effects are amazing. The staff are lovely so helpful and friendly

Spent our anniversary here, we are huge Harry Potter fans. It was magical and the best experience ever, can’t wait to come back!

Great set, wonderful creation of a magical atmosphere, even the restaurant continued the theme, and you felt like you were really there! With a (now 21 year old) daughter who is a devotee of Harry Potter books and movies, this did not disappoint. There were very long queues for the rides so do a VIP tour to avoid this if you want to see the rest of universal studios on the same day.

nice fun experience. if you are a Harry Potter fan, you will have loads of fun. The 3D show is amazing

Recently visited Universal Studios for the day with my wife in October. The lines were not too bad. It was a great way to spend the day. The Harry Potter ride was terrific. I think it was the best ride in the park.

I do not fan with Harry Potter films or stories but the ride was really interesting and full of enjoying and become the highlight of the Universal Studios park.

Visiting friends from Australia and I make a last minute run for the land of wizards. Butter beer and magic wands and lots of happy children gave us a much needed boost after a long day.

Late in the evening is when you need to hit this ride because the lines are super short and the rides are super fun i would go there again and again.

We went on the Harry Potter ride and thought we must be crazy when we got off. We got to the studios for the early entrance and there was not much of a line. Can’t believe people wait 60 minutes in the sun for this 5 minute ride that is blasting loud, pitch dark, with no educational or thoughtful message whatsoever. They strap you in and it’s a wild and dark ride.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was AMAZING. They did an incredible job recreating Hogsmeade. The fact that people could buy a wand and go around to different places in Hogsmeade and do “spells” was pretty cool. Butterbeer was expensive for what it was, but delicious. All of the shops were fun to walk around in. I’m very impressed. We would have liked to have gone on the ride through Hogwarts, but ran out of time.

If you a fan of the books and/or movies this is worth the cost and hassle of getting there and queuing up for the bigger rides. Plenty of movie costume, wand, butter beer, and other goodies to magically make your money disappear. It's fun and you will be glad when you make it back to track 9 3/4!

If you or your kids are Harry Potter fans you have to make a trip here. It is absolutely amazing and worth it!

The lines are terrible long. The rides are fun but seriously not worth waiting 5 hours in line to ride. A lot of the rides at Universal are the kind the are in a screen and make you sick. Like puke sick. We spent a lot of money here to stand in long lines and smell sweat. Ewwww. We won’t be back.

The park area is pretty nice, clearly most of the budget was invested on this area, and the immersive experience really gives your the feeling that you are in Hogsmeade.
There are three attractions here, and I personally thing they were pretty average. My favorite one was the thrill ride in Hogwarts, and entering the castle itself and the line experience were all incredible. If you'd need to chose one attraction, this should be it.
Flight of the hippogriff is a small coaster perfect for small children and people that don't really like roller coasters. However, due to its short duration, you really shouldn't go there if the line is over 20min long.
Ollivanders is fun if there is a child on your group!

As fans of the Harry Potter series, we loved being inside all the places made famous by these books. Especially loved the Butterbeer drinks at the Three Broomsticks Restaurant -- I had a hot one, my husband's was iced and both tasted great! The ride at Hogwarts castle is loads of fun too.

We visited as a multi generation family, grandparents, parents and children and we ALL enjoyed. Universal has done a fantastic job in this portion of the park. The shops, attractions and even the food! Butter beer is a must! Just for the experience! You might want to share as it is VERY sweet. The only disappointment was they closed the park at 5:30 for a night event. We bought seasons passes and plan to return.

Lots of people in this area long lines for the rides. The butter beer was great! Went on the small roller coaster and it was average.

The entire experience from walking up to the ride, the line up and ride itself was amazing. Definitely make sure you make time to enjoy it. Well worth it.

It really sets the scene the whole layout is perfect with some great rides so the must visit in Universal

Wow - a must stop for any Harry Potter fan! My grandson had a wonderful time…he definitely felt like he was living the story.

If you're a Harry Potter fan, don't miss visiting this area of the park; it's outstanding.
I'm not a Harry Potter fan at all, but I loved the theming of this land. We didn't even go on the rides here, just just looked in awe at the set.

You can't even think about leaving Universal without going thru Harry Potter. Grab a butter beer on your way in and sip on it while you wait in line. Rides are amazing and they have actors come out and do skits too! Grab another butter beer on your way out! Don't forget to go to Honey dukes for some yummy candy!

What I remember best about Harry Potter world in Universal Studios is that we did 120 minutes queue for a mediocre attraction that took only 5 minutes, we paid 24 dollar for 4 small bottles of water and the queue in the candy store were 30 feet long...

Being here was literally like a dream. Loved every single second, couldn't stop looking around smiling. Everything was just perfect!
All the staff walked around in robes, some stood doing tricks, others ready for photos. The butter beer was literally the nicest drink I have ever tasted!
We did have to queue over an hour for the ride it but was so so worth it! And the queuing actually happens inside the castle and it really feels like you're there.
Also caught the light show at the end of they day and WOW!
Loved it.

A beautiful rendition of HP, it is like some of the books are brought to life, there is plenty to see and everywhere you look there is some amazing detail. I have not done any of the rides so cannot comment on them but the shops have some good stuff although it is very expensive and you could probably buy cheaper elsewhere.
It does get crowded and they do limit the number of people in the shops as they are not the biggest
You have to try a butterbeer, the frozen is the best, although once you have had one, you will probably not have the desire to have another one, it is very sweet and sickly
Definitely a must for Harry Potter fans and it is not bad for those that are not, it may even convert you

I went with my family ages 3 to 64. There were 6 of us. We got the vip front of the line pass. It was kind of expensive but well worth it. The Harry Porter experience was great, The line was super super long and to get to go to the front of the line was awesome. The 3 year old was to short to go one, but was able to go on the roller coaster that was there. There was so much to see and do there, With the vip pass we got a huge meal with drinks and dessert include. We even had the left overs bagged up and took them with us,

My husband is a big Harry Potter fan, and he approves of the new Universal Studio offering. The ride is fun, and the "street show" is very interesting. The whole "village" is a reason to go!

If you love the Harry Potter books and movies you will really enjoy this part of the universal studios park. Good recreations of the movie scenes, and it's great seeing many of the visitors dressed in the "house" cloaks like the hogwarts students. Great selection of gifts for the fans.

- Highlights: Loved the mechanical marvel of the ride. The line was not too long (35 minutes). It was marvelous to literally experience and live the some of the movie's scenes (roughly, not exactly). It is a high speed and very movement-driven ride ... don't toss your cookies!
- Lowlights: The ride stopped after just 3 minutes and we were left hanging and dangling in our seats for 15 minutes. The plus sides were that we got to finish the ride slowly and saw all the mechanical and technical details that make it happen and we also got a "fast pass" to come back later and try it again.
Do not ride the small roller coaster outside in front of the castle, it lasts 2 minutes and the line lasted 45 minutes (not worth it in our opinion).
- TIP: Do not bring a large backpack or purse as they ask you to check them in and the lines for the fingerprint-driven lockers are long.

We have been lucky enough to visit WWHP in Florida that made this very disappointing whilst being exactly the same (but smaller) we were looking for something different as this was California but no we could’ve been in Florida - very disappointing even my daughter a massive HP fan was disappointed

It took over two hours to crawl through the maze to finally get to the Harry Potter ride only to be tossed around watching a vurtural ride that left me with a head ache for the rest of the day. I get kids LOVE Harry Potter, but the ride wasn't worth the wait

All the details in the castle are great everything is super. Scary for some but well worth riding it, my family loves it and every time you experience it differently.

For the true Potterhead this is a must do if you are ever in the area. Universal has a few of these around the world now and they are all pretty much the same - but you have to see it to really get an idea for the scale, attention to detail and enthusiasm of the cast members who make a visit here truly memorable.

Not many people early in the morning. Cool day. Fun and lots of fun.Bought some amazing things. Wands, cape and some stuffed animals.

Get there early before it gets too hot- fabulous reiteration of Hogwarts and butter beer. Go there first before you go to the rest of Universal if Harry Potter is your preference.

We had butter beer bought sweets in sweet shop did the rides all with a sense of a Harry Potter. Smaller park than in Orlando not busy when we where there. Great pictures with all the characters. Some of the restaurants closed so food bit limited. Good day

Enjoyed our day here, but got very VERY busy. Staff, were trying very hard to move people on. VR ride broke down and left suspended in the dark for about 10mins. No apology or re-ride. Wouldn't say we were disappointed, but it wasn't the highlight of the visit.

This was the best thing about Universal for sure! Nothing beats the magic ride in there! Worth all the lines.

This place is a must see for any Harry Potter fan. We’ve visited both the Orlando and Hollywood Wizarding World and neither disappointed. Universal Studios gets a huge thumbs up for making this world up to the standards of most Harry Potter fans. Our visit was during mid-December, which I believe is a slow time for the park and we did have VIP passes, which for the park at this time of year wasn’t necessary.
As soon as you enter the park you can see the peaks of Hogwarts. If you stay at the Hilton nearby, you can see Hogwarts from your room! Detail, detail, detail, Universal has taken the time to put so much into this world that you will see things you missed each time you walk through.
When you first enter this World, you will see the Hogwarts’s Express train along with its conductor welcoming you in. This is a great spot for a picture. We made it in time to see the “Triwizard Spirit Rally” show. This is a short well-choreographed show that has members from Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang dancing and displaying their skill sets. If you happen to be in the area during show times, it’s worth watching. Next, we made it to Ollivanders! This is a decent sized shop to pick out your wand, but also has an interactive show inside. The show is whimsical and the characters and story lines are on point. The show takes place in a very small dark room (maybe 25 people?) and only one or two children get picked to be a part of the interactive wand choosing. If there are children with VIP passes in your group, then one of them will likely be chosen. It was nice, but would not wait in an extended line to see again.
We did ride the Hippogriff roller coaster and it was fun and exciting, but the ride was extremely short, I think maybe 30 seconds. The coaster is nicely designed, but with the limited space in the park, the ride is quick. So if the line is short, then it’s worth the wait, but don’t wait more than 20-30 minutes. The Forbidden Journey ride is the crown jewel of the park! The ride is a full body experience that will get all your senses working at peak levels. The ride is awesome and the visuals are stunning. This ride is a must do so pay attention to wait times.
We did not eat at the Three Broomsticks, but the place looked great visually. Remember, VIP passes get you to the front of any line, as many times as you want, all day long. So during peak season, these passes are priceless.
Bottom-line: Kudos to Universal Studios for creating a beautiful Wizarding World with brilliant attractions and entertainment.

This was a great hit for our two boys, 10 and 9. The Forbidden Journey was their favorite ride at Universal. My oldest was picked for the wand fitting at Ollivanders, which was super special! They had fun running around trying out their interactive wands. I will admit though, Wizarding World definitely feels more magical at night. Unfortunately, Universal closed at 6pm the two days we visited, so we were unable to see the castle all lit up.

Area is noticeably smaller than the Universal Orlando attraction, but then the park as a whole is smaller so they've still done a good job. Rides still the same and have all the details/tlc that are needed to make you feel like you're really at Hogwarts.

We really liked this part of Universal. The Butterbeer is excellent we had it sever times during the day. It's a little smaller then we thought it would be, the little stores are fun to go through.

This place is absolutely incredible. We have visited a number of times and it never loses its magic. Even though who know little about the Harry Potter films or books will still find this to be a wonderful experience. There is a great mix of speciality stores, rides and places to eat. The entire place is themed and well maintained. Very hard to find any faults. Must do attraction.

I liked this ride. Out of all of the rides there, this one was my favorite. I am a Harry Potter fan. And this ride was amazing. You fly through the air and see a lot of characters and dementors. It's a very interesting ride.

We are big fans of the Harry Potter franchise, and were really looking forward to this visit. It was a gift to my mother-in-law for her 90th birthday.
What we found was that HPW was just a very small corner of the overall Universal Studios park. We could walk the length of it - and see everything there was - in less than 5 minutes. The lines were ridiculous for everything. It took about half an hour to get a butter beer (don't bother) and my wife and mother-in-law waited in line for 2 1/2 hours for the one ride they went on. The rest of us waited outside, had lunch, and then waited some more.
The only other thing we thought we might do on the way out was to take the back lot tram tour. Seeing the posted wait time as 80 minutes we decided to just go home instead.
On top of it all, the prices were outrageous! Lunch consisted of two basic sandwiches and two bags of chips and it set me back more that $35.00. The one thing I had hoped to leave with was a sweatshirt but after seeing the price tag of around $70, I left without one.
My strong advice, DO NOT GO HERE!

So Close to Magic Castle Hotel (just one stop on the train them a short bus ride up to the Universal City (or a 10 Minute walk uphill))

Fairly long queues for everything, but then again I was expecting that! Food and merchandise extremely expensive, but overall an enjoyable visit. Try out the Harry Potter ride - that's the best!

While it is small, it was really neat. My Harry Potter loving kids LOVED it!! So pretty at night during the light show!

This is the best part of Universal and why we went. They need more rides or make the hippogriff one longer for instance and with more entertainment value. But the other HP ride is amazing, one of the best I've ever been on. Navigating the lockers for your items was not lovely, so go early on this ride before you've bought wands and things that might not fit in there. However, I could stay in that part of the park all day. Should have just stayed there; and just went and played with the wands. The food at 3 broomsticks is great and so is the butterbeer. The robes for sale need to be better fabric, they were too itchy so we opted out.

I felt completely immersed in the world of Harry Potter. The frozen butter bear was so yummy. Everything about it was almost like being there. A must for any HP fan.

If you are carrying a backpack, stow in a locker before entering the ride. We were not advised as there was no employee, very annoying to hold up while someone runs down to the lockers and come back up to the ride.
If you are afraid of spiders, I mean really afraid of spiders this ride is not for you.
The ride is first rate and awesome! The castle and all the way through is great fun!

We LOVED this place. So many things to look at and explore. The rides were fun for fans of Harry Potter and those that aren't so much of a fan. Fun foods as well.

Really super layout, amazing buildings and attractions, felt like we were really in Harry Potter's world!

We are too tall and big to ride these . so sad because we have wands we got in Florida to use there. Butterbeer is the best part.

the roller coaster inside the castle is a real treat! the walk up to it alone is magical!
The whole area is so well done and amazing

They really did create a world here -- the buildings are amazing. I enjoyed the rides, although Ollivander's should be called a show, not a ride. Do try the butterbeer!

The whole area is very tastefully done, from the haphazard stacking of the wands in the wand shop, to the olde world style of the Owls delivery service.
If you can stay until after dark, there's a great atmosphere and magical lighting too.
Do NOT miss the butterbeer!

We went to Universal Studios just for this. This is our second time at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
If you are a Harry Potter fan you can't miss this.
We love the details, and how you feel as you are really in Hogsmeade.
We got an early entrance pass, so we could really enjoy it without the crowds

Well, I'm a fan of Harry Potter, so for me it was a dream come true! Everything is thought carefully to enchant the visitors. The flight of the Hippogriff is very fun! The castle and the village of Hogsmeade make you feel inside the story from the books and movies! I absolutely loved it!

Top attraction for all the Harry Potter fan, the ride inside is very cool as well as the stores before the castle and the live show.

Hogwarts, the wand shop, the wand stations but the Harry Potter attraction was just amazing! The Hippogriff ride was not really worth it, but we went to the Harry Potter Experience 3 times and loved it the most of the universal studios!

You immediately become a part of this wonderful and charming place as soon as you enter it. There is plenty to entertain and amuse you for quite sometime. The happy faces you see are not all just from the kids. The shops and the food served are unique and satisfying. Step out of your world and into this one so you can enjoy the moments there.

A must see for all Harry Potter fans. Have not seen the movies and not a fan but thought it was amazing.

Start by going to the wane shop so you can perform spells through the day. You can skip the tour by going into the retail section of the shop. There are several cool shops featuring candies and gadgets from the books/movies. Must try the butter beers. The line through Hogwarts was more than just th ride. You get to see different parts of Hogwarts including classroom and dorms. Totally worth the wait!

Unforgettable experience even for non Harry Potter fans. All the buildings and structures including snow at the roofs look so real. We especially enjoyed 2 things. All incredible details andf effects while waiting in the queue for the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride. The best experience was when our daughter became "Selected" in Ollivanders Wand Selection Ceremony.

The Wizarding World is incredibly well detailed, the shops are fun to browse and the atmosphere is good as there are a lot of Harry Potter fans dressed up and having a good time interacting. The only reason I have given four stars instead of five is we have visited the World in Orlando and as they have a lot more land there is far more to see and do, but it is still very well done here in Hollywood. We also had a Butterbeer which is a must try iconic drink.
A Lot of fun
This ride is one of the best in the Universal City Plaza, it will take a good adrenolin while you are on
