Loud, colorful, and dazzling – who doesn’t know the countless neon advertisements at Times Square? Seeing them in person was truly a spectacle. Times Square is especially impressive in the evening than during the day. But be prepared for crowds – I’m sure everyone visiting New York ends up walking through Times Square at least once.
Along Times Square, you’ll find numerous shops and food stalls. For a great view and an amazing photo opportunity, head to the red steps. You’ll also come across performers dressed as Disney characters or Marvel superheroes, eager to pose for photos with tourists.
Times Square is a must-see when in New York. Just keep in mind that the noise level, already high in New York, is even louder here.

A place to make memories and see all the bright lights, and beautiful people! I must mention the kindness. Not a single rude person. I love NY!

The grand hotels towering overhead gave us perfect refuge after exploring. Being so close to Broadway was MAGICAL—we caught two shows without breaking a sweat walking there! The sensory overload was overwhelming yet addictive...we couldn't stop giggling at the pure CHAOS of it all!

If you like overcrowded areas, people not looking where they're going and bumping into you and rude people, then this is your place!
Not quite sure what is so fascinating about huge outdoor screens on buildings...?
The darker it gets, the busier it gets. So if you are going I'd recommend going during the day time, which will still be very busy but not as much as night time.

Really impressive, a madness of ads and neons, shops and street activities of the most varied. Everyone's trying to sell you something

We spent new years here and I've never seen a place so busy in my life. Unbelievable place with lots to see and quite frankly just find a coffee shop and just people watch. All restaurants are quite expensive but how often do you go new york and see this so don't matter at all.

This has been our go-to place for a very long time. And being here fills me with joy, the place is very vibrant and filled with lots of energy.

When visiting New York a must, especially recommended in the evening.
Many ships, restaurants, close to Broadway, ...
Always something going on

Time square is a never ending place between lights, neon and people. If you a visitor or a resident you can always get emotionally involved with the bright atmosphere around you.
I’m always in love with New York and always surprised with Time Square even after more than 200 times there.
It’s an event in itself!!

Where life is... if you’re in New York and don’t go to Time Square, you’re missing out on what you usually hope to find in the US:
Freedom, colorfulness, creativity, street art, and shop till you drop. Magnificent

Incredible place to visit. There are a lot of great shops and a great street market.
At night, spectacular sea of light.
It's probably the crowdiest place on the planet.

It was a memorable experience in the city of New York where I was fascinated by the lights and billboards and stores… so cool that you can go to tons of different locations to get food like M&M’s world, Madame Tussauds wax museum where the figures are so realistic. Looks like a dream

Times Square is one of the most iconic places in New York with all those advertising screens lighting up the night in the square.
Always crowded with tourists and residents, it is one of the places where you can immerse yourself in the mentality of the Big Apple, where everyone has the opportunity to grow and excel.
A must-see on any trip to NYC.
It is named after the newspaper that had there and is based.

Time square is the center of the world that makes you say wow as soon as you arrive. I recommend going there towards evening, beware of the characters who walk around the square dressed as puppets that slip into your photos, but just a nod of no d they leave.
Great police control so safe place full of iconic shops

I've been to New York six times. And what a disappointment this time. Since the legalization of cannabis, the streets are smoked with weed, it really stinks a lot of cannabis everywhere, h24, non-stop. Irrespirable. Big apples are replaced by the representation of the cannabis leaf. A man said "SMOKE, SMOKE, SMOKE" to my 9-year-old daughter. Really weird the atmosphere and the omnipresent smell to vomit.

Times Square is the best iconic square in the world. It gives freedom and you're in the hearth of NY feeling. Never seen a place like that charming this way. It's been always as busy as it gets and will go on.

Times Square was a bit underwhelming for us. We went around noon on a Tuesday, and it certainly wasn't crowded at all.
I got photos on the Red Steps quite easily.
I guess it was because it was during the day that it held no excitement. The ads were just.... ads, but I can imagine they're much better in the dark. As we were staying down near Wall Street, and didn't do any shows, we weren't out in the night, so didn't see it then, but that didn't bother us.
I'm not saying don't bother to go to Times Square, but if it's not high on your list, then don't worry if you miss it. If there's something there you really want to see, then yes, head along and enjoy!
PS We got the HOHO bus from just behind the Red Steps, which was convenient and very good.

I've been here many times and there's always something happening in Times Square. This time there was an exhibition of street soccer and Ritter Sport was giving free samples of a new flavor. At night, lights are everywhere and it's crowded. The people watching is quite entertaining here.

Incredible place with all its bright panels.
With the time difference I had the chance to get up very early and go at night, there was no one it was impressive!

The lights are spectacular at night and the music bicycles rides is an experience. Even with the crowds , it felt save though

Times Square is fun. The screens are great. At night is fantastic. Good places to do shopping, eat, walk around, drink a hot chocolate, etc.

Very crowded ALWAYS! Blinding in its huge billboards and real heart of the city. We come and go again and again...

A must visit when you are in New York City.
No matter the time of day, Times Square is lit up! It’s always mad busy but it’s all part of the experience.
Great to see so many places so familiar from films and getting such a surreal feeling, I would definitely return!

Beautiful place to be day or night. Very lively and happy tourists all over. NY skyline is breathtaking. Always something fun is going on by big and small groups. Subways are all over to go back and forth to other destinations. Lots of shopping and food places around. Safe at night as well. Cops are all over to maintain safety. Thanks NYPD.

If there is one thing you want to experience in New York City, its Times Square. I'm not sure why anyone would rate it anything but Excellent. Its busy, its fun, Its New York, Its crazy, Its Loud, Its spectacular. It's fun for all ages, unless you don't like fun and excitement. We came here in the morning, we were here at night, and especially for the midnight show, we came here at 3am. It just doesn't stop. We felt safe the entire time, yes, there are lots of people that try to make money of tourists, but you just need to be mindful of that and just enjoy the Square.

Time square was bursting with energy and very lively we enjoyed the experience the food the music the shows everything just gives it a buzz but at night time is when the place comes a live the lights the digital screens it’s just amazing you can take pictures with cartoon and superhero characters watch people dancing

We first stopped by after a Broadway Show since the lights were visible from down the road. The area is an experience with lots of lights everywhere. There are billboards all around the area all with different pictures and messages.
When you take a closer look, there are plenty of restaurants and shops located everywhere. There were also quite a few performers as well as people selling items or photos.
I also did stop by during the day and it was also quite an experience but just not as bright. There were quite a lot of people moving in all directions so it can be a bit cramped at times, particularly when waiting for the lights to cross the street. I also got lucky seeing it snow in the area.
I thought it was quite an interesting place to stop by and look around. Some stores can get so busy that there is a line outside though.

As expected a blaze of colour from the gigantic neon signs and video screens advertising all the shows in the immediate locality. Busy with activity, tourists taking photos, buying tickets, a couple of street performers.........it's Times Square.

One of the iconic places to visit in New York. All the neon signs shining brightly and flasing away. Watch out though for people wanting to seel you something, even if it's just a photo with them.

What a beautiful place in Manhattan. Our hotel was a 5 minute walk away so often came here for a long time and then always looked around what was seen in neon advertising and people who were always visible. Early in the morning it is really recommended because then it is still wonderfully busy.

Wonderful, crazy and crowds of people whatever time you go! lots of things going on and crazy music and sounds.
Lots of shops, restaurants and fast food, those priced higher its a great fun place to be.
Didn't have any issues and no hassle, we felt safe and lots of police around.
Must visit just for some pictures and for the experiance.

You have to go there to understand the unique atmosphere! It’s beautiful during the day but the night is at its best with those mega screens and thousands of people crowding into the square

This place is a real eye opener, and the lights amazing but it’s ruined by scammers and people constantly coming up to you trying to sell you bus tours etc, my partner was surrounded but 3 guys and he basically had to give them $10 to get them off his back, they gave him a card with a load of rubbish on it! Also there are a lot of people dressed as Disney characters who try to get you to have pictures with them in exchange for money, I felt very vulnerable and uncomfortable there, although there is a police presence.

It's a must see whilst in New York. It's iconic. But the novelty quickly wears off. When you've seen it by night (best time) you don't need to do it again. It's very crowded and I just don't understand the red steps (the crowd to sit on them was crazy). There's a lot of people dressed up, trying to get you to pose for photos and then asking for money. I witnessed one group get a photo, paid money and then following the tourist down the street asking for more money, that's very intimidating.
Plenty of shops, restaurants/fast food and souvenir shops nearby too. But visit once at least and then discover everything else New York has on offer

It is a very nice and busy place, there are many shops where you can buy souvenirs and items from recognized brands as well as there you can take a bus that gives you a tour of the city.

A swarm of menacing demonic poodles clambering over shambles of homeless men. Disgusted by this. They were barking like mad and gave me a rotten headache. Like poodles? Really? Lord save me this was an eyesore. Daughter began crying because of the homeless men screaming in agony

Time Square is particularly impressive at night when all the illuminated signs are on and the square is full of people and lives.

If New York has more iconic place for an advertiser, I don't know, but I felt in a dream that came true with everything I lived in that place, I loved it a lot

Must see in NYC - only place anything like this in NYC - only other place that's similar in the world is Ginza in Tokyo. Very croweded, especially pretty at night with vast array of colored neon signs.
A real "must see"!

Absolutely to do!
Whether in the morning, afternoon or late evening, Time Square will always be as different from other times. (I still recommend doing it more in the evening!)
You can easily be captivated by all these concentrated screens in one place.
The first time I went there, I was disappointed with Time Square, because we think it's huge and it's like the pictures. But the second time, we realize the immensity of the place and we want to go back.
Time Square, I miss u.

I walked the streets of New York—bustling, iconic, alive. And then, I arrived at its beating heart: Times Square.
Here, time does not follow the rules. It doesn’t pause or slow—it pulses, vibrates, shines. It lives in lights that never dim and screens that never sleep.
Crowds gather from all over the world, drawn to the glowing spectacle like moths to flame. Strangers become silhouettes in the same story, faces turned upward toward promise. The massive LED displays flash futures not yet written—stories of dreams, of endless beginnings, of tomorrow just within reach.
And beneath it all, my footsteps tap out a quiet rhythm—each one a moment passed, a second lived. I realize I’m leaving behind a trail of time with every step I take, becoming part of the Square’s endless motion. My present is now the city’s past, folded into its ever-expanding memory.
In the midst of the chaos, I am still. Just for a breath. And in that breath, I understand why people come here not just to see—but to feel.
To feel the rush of hope.
To feel the weight of history and the lightness of possibility.
To feel what it means to be part of something bigger than yourself.

We were in Manhattan for 4 nights and 3 days. The first place we went after checking into our hotel was Times Square. Bright lights! Broadway!! On this Thursday evening, it was packed with people! Some were theatregoers who had just seen a production. But most were just people hanging around, taking photos and videos. Lots of selfies! Wouldn't it be interesting to know how many selfies are taken there every day? We walked from 42nd Street up to 47th before peeling off one of the side streets. Enough for one night. But we came back each day of our time in the Big Apple. There's a magnetic attraction with all the lights and people. And there is plenty to do between the theatres, restaurants, bars, and shops in the area.

Our family of five decided to visit Times Square in the evening, and the sheer kinetic energy of the place was overwhelming in the best way. The children were completely mesmerized by the constantly changing advertisements and imagery—it's definitely a retail and entertainment wonderland!
However, be warned: it is incredibly crowded and loud, especially when navigating with a larger group. We made sure to hold hands and keep our party close together at all times. Also, a note of caution: there are many costumed characters and street performers who are very persistent about photo opportunities and tips. Exercise vigilance and keep your personal belongings secure.
Despite the intensity, seeing the famous flagship stores and experiencing the sleepless, relentless buzz of New York City is truly a must-do experience. We managed to take some fantastic, brilliantly-lit photos! If you are traveling as a family of five, make the trip, but be prepared for the hustle. Maximum New York!

Such a buzz about this place. Feels like the heart of New York. Always lots to see, shops, restaurants, theatres, street entertainment etc. Recommend Juniors as a great all round diner or Little Italy grab a slice of pizza on the go.

A unique place in the world, being in this place is being NY. People from all over the world. I stayed almost at the corner and it was wonderful.
Pay attention to the small punches, but don't stop walking through it at night.

The visit to Times Square in New York City was definitely worth the trip. The crowds, the atmosphere, and all the entertainment gives a certain energy that must be experienced.

We were swept away by the lively nightlife, with dazzling lights and the buzz of excitement all around us. We wandered hand in hand, soaking in the energy of street performers and the aroma of delicious food carts. From catching a glimpse of a Broadway show to dancing in the streets, every moment felt exhilarating. Times Square is a feast for the senses, and we left with our hearts racing and smiles plastered on our faces. What a night to remember!

Of course we had to visit Times Square for the sake of taking a picture here to show all our friends and family. It was in the afternoon, so not that busy and crazy. I can imagine this place getting cramped with hoards of tourist, but for us it was one of the least inspiring places in NYC.

New York's iconic spots, lined with commercial shops, are great for shopping, but the streets smell of marijuana from time to time, and street vendors smell of gasoline.
Street acrobatics are worth watching, but be safe.

Times Square stands as one of New York’s most recognizable landmarks, renowned for its dazzling lights and vibrant crowds. It’s an ideal spot to immerse yourself in the city’s energetic vibe, offering a mix of shops, diverse dining options.

Time Square is a real dream, I loved everything in the place, full of shops, huge screens, a place of dreams, I loved too much, I went every day during my trip and super recommend visiting the place, its shops and everything it has to offer to tourists.

AMAZING PLACE!!! FULL OF MAGIC!!! WE WENT TO HALLOWEEN AND IT WAS AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE!!! BUSINESSES EVERYWHERE, LOOK AT PRICES BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! THE 3D SCREENS A CRAZE!!! GOING AT NIGHT IS AN UNFORGETTABLE THING!

The bright lights and vibrant atmosphere made our hearts race. With every second ticking down to 2025, we felt a shared excitement.

Times Square is awesome to visit. We walked thru it morning, noon, late at night! We felt totally safe all hours we were walking thru it. Of course, always need to be aware of surroundings. It is such a fun place d to walk around.

Times Square is an electrifying experience like no other. The dazzling billboards, bustling crowds, and endless energy make it feel like the center of the world. There’s something for everyone—shops, theaters, restaurants, and street performers that bring the square to life at every hour. Whether you visit during the day or at night when the lights shine brightest, Times Square leaves an unforgettable impression. It’s chaotic, vibrant, and absolutely iconic—a must-see for any trip to New York City.

This iconic neighborhood is something you need to see at least once in your life... and honestly, once is enough. It's loud and colorful and very, very busy, and it can get overwhelming if you don't come prepared. It's the hub of the city, with Broadway right there and plenty of tourist-trap restaurants on every corner. Madame Tussaud's is here, there's a cinema, clothing stores, and plenty of subway stations, and Central Park is a short walk away. However, there can be an unholy crush of people at night, especially on the weekend, so if you get antsy around other people, I would suggest coming during the day.

It's definitely a vibrant atmosphere, that's for sure. So many lights! Found some diverse street food, which was okay. It's a major shopping hub, but we weren't really in the mood. It was just... a lot.

Our hotel was literally around the corner and we walked across or alongside Times Square many times during our holiday.
It is busy, vibrant, noisy and fascinating. Use the red stairs to sit and wonder at the lights and advertising and sit for a minute, to watch and look up without being jostled.
During the day it is easy to navigate but early and late evening it can be a bit of a scrum and the noise levels rise considerably.
It has to be experienced but the bus touts and rather tatty Disney dressed characters constantly pressurising for photos can become annoying, so choose your time to visit.

There is so much to see and do in and around times sq. We saw the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, Had Lunch at Ellen's Stardust Diner (both reviewed separately), took the subway a lot, looked at all the crazy tall buildings, and hit a few shops. I am glad we got to experience it as it is iconic NYC that you see in so many movies, shows, and of course this is where the ball drops each Near Years eve. If we ever go back to NYC again I would skip this and do other things but I am glad we got to do it.

Time Square is the Vibrant heart of New York City, known for its dazzling lights, towering billboards, and nonstop energy. It's a must see spot full of life day and night.

A must! especially in the evening. Our hotel was the M Social Times square. Yeah. Very quiet. Next time we will go to another neighborhood to compare.

It never ceases to amaze. While it's WAY too packed and crowded with tourists, mascots and scammers, it is still a must see for 15min if you are in NYC.

I went there many times while I was in New York. Huge ads, a sudden Kanye West gig, a Broadway musical theater, a big M&Ms shop… Times Square was still a sight to behold, though it is often compared to the Shibuya scramble crossing. It is a landmark that leaves the impression that there is still a qualitative difference like Tokyo.

For better or for worse, you never feel more like you're in New York City than when you're in Times Square. Depending on your mood it can be exciting or claustrophobic. There's just so many people all pushing and wanting money. If you can, try to check out the "map" of Broadway laid out in concrete on the square with all of the different theaters represented. Also, there's a humming grate that's actually an art installation although it may be hard to hear it over all of the other noise.

The best place in town. The crowds were a lot tobtake in but that was the fun of it. The streets were amazing tingly clean. Great experience

Amazing, however insanely busy as you'd expect. Lots of people are trying to sell random trinkets and trips, so beware of those. There are some characters about which appear to be up to good, so keep an eye on your belongings and your whereabouts as it's easy to get spun around.

Noisy, a bit too busy and very cramped with areas set aside for games etc. ok but a place to pass through rather than stay a while.

This place is filthy but well, actually all New York is. Every corner smells like urine and there is garbage piled everywhere. We were there for 1 hour just trying to walk through, it is not worth it at all. We have all seen this street in TV and when you are there in person you realize it is very small and not worth your time.

Very NYC experience, its unique place of New York and lots of displays and photo spots. Despite being crowdy, it has different energy of the city. One person should visit at least once in a lifetime.

Absolutely iconic place. Went both during the day and night, both experiences exhilarating. Such a movie moment. Would definitely recommend passing through.

The must-see of Manhattan!
Both grand and spectacular at night but spoiled by the world and the pollution of cannabis smells!
Otherwise, pleasant visit to the shops.
A pleasure to take pictures to keep a memorable memory.

A unique place! Mind-blowing is like
Be in another dimension! You can travel quietly very safely many police everywhere!

One of the first pints of vacationer encounter with New York. It should be seen both day and night, of course .. always full of people and noisy at all hours. The area is perhaps not the best x lunch or dinner given the lines in all the premises. Enjoy it calmly maybe sitting at one of the many tables in the square

Going to NYC and then to Manhattan then it is must do thing to o visit Times Square. The steps the buildings around the people from all over the globe just a wow experience simply amazing

Times Square at night was incredible — the lights, music, and energy were unreal! I booked my New York experiences through SaverSeats.store, and it was fast, smooth, and affordable. Highly recommend checking it out before you go.

Times Square was everything I imagined—and then some! Chaotic, colourful, and buzzing around the clock, it’s a spectacle that never sleeps. I’d recommend visiting at different times of day: early mornings and late nights are perfect for fewer crowds and fantastic photography. As expected, you’ll find endless shops, restaurants, and subway stations right at your feet. Honestly, I could have sat on the red steps all day with my camera, just soaking in the people-watching. One tip though—beware of the terrifying Elmos, they’re far too eager to grab your attention!

It's impressive the amount of panels and screens showing movies and commercials, I found until the lighting rises to the temperature. It is worth seeing the avenue, as there are several interesting places in the vicinity.

A place with a lot of people almost all year round. You see buildings full of lights and billboards. Christmas has too much people. There are many cafes and restaurants as well as shops to shop whatever you want. It's a place you should definitely see once in your life!

Times Square used to be fun, but the homeless people and drug users have taken over and its just not safe anymore. It's sad.

Little can be written about this famous avenue that has not been written before!
Located between 6th and 8th Avenue, it is the most central sector of the city!
By day it is fine, always busy, with many shops, theaters, attractions
But when the night comes with the buildings with that bright advertising and animation that is in Times Square is when you really realize that you are on an avenue that is a real world icon!!!!

Second time here for me but the first time for my fiancé and he absolutely loved it. I visited 10 years ago and it has changed quite a bit, not necessarily for the better either, I still really enjoyed it though.
Positives: It is a magical and iconic place. Although it is very busy, we never felt unsafe. The lights from the billboards are always incredible and the place is filled with places to eat and drink, however, the establishments here are, as you would expect, pricey. There is always something to see or do here, including the iconic red steps, where, if you can get on them, you can watch the diverse world go by. There are street performers which are good to watch, be aware though, their main aim is obviously to get money out of you, so keep them at arms length if you're on a budget! We even saw The Naked Cowboy on one day we were there. Also saw filming of a 50's film taking place with lots of 50's cars lined up, this was nice to see. The theatre district is here too (Broadway) and there are many amazing shows to see if that is your thing.
Negatives: Far too many gift shops! Super, super busy, to the extent where you come to a standstill sometimes. If you don't like crowds, this is NOT the place for you. The smell of weed from every single street was overwhelming sometimes, this was not pleasant. People selling bus tours are everywhere, thrusting tour leaflets in your face, some are more polite than others. Beware of the scammers, we came across ones posing as musicians "trying to make it". They will autograph what appears to be a CD in return for a fee, there is no CD, it's just a piece of printed card. It's hard to get by them because they will try and get you to stop and almost block your right of way. The centre of Times Square is filled with "photographers" who will take your photo without your knowledge and then try and get you to part with your money for a copy of the photo. You need to be quite forceful with all of these people, politely dismiss them and keep walking!
Times Square is not everybody's cup of tea, but you need to visit it when in NYC, even just to say you've been there.

Imagine a gazillion tourists in one place with none of them knowing where they're going—and you've got Times Square. You'll see things you never see at home, like young women dressed in only thongs with their tops painted on, and they want to charge you for a picture. But it's part of the classic New York experience, so go and have fun.

It was my first visit to the States and i couldn't leave without seeing times square,be prepared for alot of people and activity in the area

How can you visit New York without going to Times Square. Simply iconic. So many things to do eat, drink, watch the world go by. Sensational.

We thought it was a must see during our quick visit in New York, but at night we didn't feel 100% safe with all those locals on drugs, making noise and throwing garbage on the streets.

The place of every movie or dream of anyone who comes to NYC.
This place is unmissable despite its crowd which is very present but it is NY.
You will also find many street artists with a phenomenal atmosphere on the premises all along

The constant energy of the bustling crowds and dazzling lights captivated us. We marveled at the iconic billboards and enjoyed the street performances. The famous New Year's Eve celebration, though not during our visit, added to the allure, reminding us of the magic this place holds.

Symbol of consumerism and meeting point of New York. During the Christmas and New Year holidays really difficult to shoot given the confusion especially in the evening hours

Wow, just wow! The lights of Times Square are truly a sight to behold. It's an overwhelming sensory experience that you have to see to believe. We loved the energy and the feeling of being at the center of the world. A must-see for anyone visiting NYC.

Central place always very crowded with many shops, billboards and street artists. In the evening the illuminated billboards create a play of light effect. Nothing more...

What a cool place. So much activity and excitement even when nothing special going on.
Truly, a must visit when in New York city.

There are nearly 40 malls and theaters here. It's a top entertainment and shopping area. The theaters on Broadway, those super eye - catching neon tube ads and huge TV commercials are so unforgettable. And the street dancers are just amazing. It feels like every step you take can tug at your heartstrings. From the 19th century to the 20th and now the 21st, this century - old neighborhood has created one glorious moment after another.
If you wanna buy train tickets, give Trainpal a shot. Use the code RICH111 and you'll get some awesome discounts.

Having never been in New York, no trip to this city would have been complete without a visit to Times Square. It was only recently that I found out it was Times with an S and not Time Square .... anyway, we walked from our ferry to Times Square and it is a very easy location to find. It was amazing, the vibe, the buzz , this is certainly worth seeing. Lots of neon, lots of advertising and if you are wondering how long to stay in this location, it depends on if you are shopping or. not ... we were not and we spent about 1 hour here. Certainly worth seeing. Lots of hawkers selling what I can presume are counterfeit products on the sidewalk but all fairly harmless and they never came near us. I felt safe and would look forward to revisiting soon.

You can’t go to NYC without seeing Times Square. It was a smaller area than I thought. Very busy. Tons of people at all hours.

Times square is one of the most famous places in the world, but nothing prepares for its sparkle, its vibrancy and the great bustle of people who populate it at any time. If during the day it enchants, at night it enraptures with the immense and colorful advertising screens

This is a famous spot in NYC City. You have to go see it especially at night to see all the giant screens go in a thousand colors. There are lots of people and lots of shops of course.

Times Square is a whirlwind of lights, sounds, and people — it truly feels like the center of New York City. The massive screens, bustling crowds, and street performers make it an unforgettable spot, especially at night when everything is glowing.
It can get very crowded and a bit overwhelming, but that’s part of the experience. If you’re visiting NYC, it’s definitely worth stopping by at least once.

A visit to New York includes a detour to Times Square. The place is often totally crowded, noisy and too touristy, but you have to take some photos and look at everything. There are souvenir shops with the usual offer, street artists, the people in Mickey Mouse, superheroes and similar costumes who like to pose for a photo for a small or large tip and the oversized digital advertising media.

Of course it is a place to know the city although I also tell you that it is full of people and enjoying the shops or the walk becomes impossible.

Absolute trash of an area in NYC. Overcrowded, full of scammers, thieves, and trafic. You come, take a picture, and leave.

Times Square a must do when in NYS. Yes it's a tourist trap but it's always some type of adventure going on! This time we ran into the Times Square Food Festival. We used this as dinner one night and got to try food from restaurants around Times Square. We got to try ribs, sushi, jollof rice, pasta, iced hot chocolate, empanadas, jerk chicken, and so much more. They had live music, dancers, and a chance to get your photo on a billboard in Times Square. Such a good time and a plus the weather was perfect. Now it's crowed, so be advised!

Times Square definitely does not live up to preconceived notions of what one may have of this famous New York City attraction. Ridiculously overcrowded, stinks of smoke, bill boards are blinding. I love nyc so much but probably not worth your time coming to this particular area!!!

What a crazy place, I imagine what it could be on the 31st december. At night its just amazing to walk down that place. Some people are just funny dressed.

Time Square-yes he's as crazy as you'd expect- here lives New York-everything has to go-crazy people, naked cowboy with guitar, naked girls dressed as gorillas, music, dance, shops......... madness. Lots of great shops like Disney or M&Ms , but of course also souvenir shops where Superman greets you at the entrance. Even cooler at night because of the lighting. A MUST in New York

It is all optics, like a very beautiful girl with an empty mind. You can go there take lots of photos with great visuals, but thats it.

Manhattan is that city that you always want to visit until fainting. walk, walk and still walk.... everything flows with your eyes always in the sky to get lost in the skyscrapers and the flavor that only that moment can give you. Manhattan you can only love with all its facets. Visiting it is like entering a film immersed in the cinematic landscape that we have all observed from behind a TV screen. From Grand Centrale to Time Square to Centrale Park etc.. (a review would not be enough to list the many things to visit).... New York remains in the heart along with indelible memories, including photos and videos, which over the years will increasingly take on that iconic flavor that only some metropolises can give you.

Very busy with people from all over the world to indulge in the best atmosphere anywhere on the planet.
Lots going on here beware pickpockets and counterfeit goods

So surreal, 10pm at night it still feels like day light because of how many lights there are. So much to see and so many amazing shops to browse.

All the establishments were clean and neat. The bill boards were really a sight to see! This is by far the best attraction in New York City.

The energy is insane, lights everywhere. It's definitely a sensory overload, but in a fun way. We felt like we were in a movie. It's a must-see, even if just to say you've been.

Times Square is a classic crowded Manhattan entertainment district scene, I'd suggest visiting when there's less of a crowd to wade through. I came here to catch a movie in one of several multi-screen complexes; the combination of giant outdoor screen showing clips from both the movies and all the nearby Broadway theaters lets you see one of NYC's classic venues.
I was here @ midday during a winter holiday week; the rainy weather kept down the crowds and the cold kept down the typical street people. With a smaller crowd you can actually see all the activity going around you and on the sides of all the buildings.

It was the first time I was travelling abroad, so i was very excited. Most of NYC was decent and there was lots to do, However, when we went to times square, i was very dissapointed. It stank of weed, was hugely crowded just for some big billboards, and there were scammers everywhere. I was constantly pestered by strangers and scammers, but I was taught to ignore these people. Shops like Mcdonalds were hugely crowded and not much seating. Had to run out with food to hotel.

Very nice place to see a world from all over the planet roaming around and cheering around them..The world that exists there is incredibly large number and always to walk closely so that someone falls on you. There are plenty of shows of people who dance the street and many museums and parades..Breakfast hours only 08:00 is good to go for photography if you want

This is super Iconic !
Suggestion : Visit at 11:00pm/10:00pm
So many things to do , such as theaters , Shops and even a m&m store ! Often crowded , with not much space though . If not intrested in walking through times square , stay in a hotel close by for a stunning view ! Its just such a unique attraction , that may not be for everyone , but If you can , stop by to admire the icon of New york city !!!!! :)

New York is amazing. Times Square is not. It’s the worst part of all things touristy in New York. If you must go then just get your selfie and get out.
This place just stinks of weed and has dodgy characters everywhere you look. It’s not a good place to go. Lots of people trying to take advantage or crazy people shouting
On a plus side there are police everywhere so you do feel safe.

Must stop in the city. Amazing screens, details, everything.
You can eat there, do shopping or just walk it all!

The mythical times square, with its many shops, bars and bright boards, in the evening is a show. Place of a thousand meetings, refreshment admiring everything 'around you.

It’s an incredibly busy spot, not ideal for those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere. The crowds can feel a bit overwhelming at times. While it’s a fantastic destination for tourists, many city residents tend to steer clear of it.

This is the beating heart of NYC!
You will find shops until late, entertainment all day and famous bright signs to take pictures, day and night.
We stayed there and say it is very noisy if you do not stay very high in the towers.
Otherwise, it is definitely the central square where the subways pass and from where you can reach all the main sites of NYC in less than 20 minutes of public transit.
Not seeing Time Square is not visiting NYC:-)

Obviously very famous all over the world. You pass through it several times during your stay in NYC both day and night. To see the Big Screen, the Red Staircase and TKTS if you are looking for very discounted tickets for Broadway shows that we recommend you see at least one (average duration over 3 hours starting at 19:00 every day).

Times Square is an unforgettable experience! The vibrant lights, huge billboards, and constant energy make it a must-see in NYC. Perfect for people-watching and feeling the city’s pulse. It can be crowded, but the atmosphere is unbeatable. Great spot for photos and a true NYC landmark!

It’s beautiful with bright vibrant lights and billboards, but people have ruined it sadly. There are lots of scammers or people who try and sneak in to your pictures for money. It is a beautiful spot but is full of dr*g users, scammers and other tourists. Great place but sadly has been changed a lot by people.

Like other tourists from anywhere around the globe, visiting this amazing place in NYC was kind of dream destination for me (went there 3 times during my NY stay).
Central area in NYC with many shops, restaurants, office buildings and flashing billboards everywhere around with the giant screens with 3D effects. Beautiful place to be both day or night. Very lively and tons of tourists all the time. NY skyline seen from here is breathtaking & energetic. Busy with activity, tourists taking photos, having street foods, buying tickets, a couple of street performers offering their art/services. Safe at night as well. Cops are all over to maintain safety.
You can’t leave to NYC without seeing Times Square. It was a smaller area than I thought. Truly New York's most iconic spot!

Hustle and bustle, neon, cars, trucks, and people lots of people. That is Time Square. Day or night it’s the place everyone one goes. It is a sight to see.

Undoubtedly one of the liveliest and most energized outdoor spaces in the world. A bit crazy, but you have to go (at night) at least once if in NYC. Nothing else like it.

A must-see in New York is to visit this plaza, which is constantly moving with Disney characters, street vendors, artists, street shows, shops and bazaars of all kinds, and what is unmatched is the number of lights on all the buildings, which are so 3D that you can see them popping out of the screens. Needless to say, visit it at the end of the year where the whole world will see the seconds of waiting with the luminous ball high above.

PROS
* The number one most visited tourist attraction in New York City
* Incredibly famous iconic scenery
* The centerpiece of the Broadway show district
CONS
* Incredibly busy and hectic
* It is not good for the senses- all the stimuli and lights
* "Shady" characters who need to be avoided without eye contact
* Incredibly expensive
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because I am drawn to it and cannot visit New York City without walking through it in the daytime (even though I don't like it). It is just too iconic to not do that, and it is so close and "one-the-way" to too much other stuff and too many other award-winning attractions.
This time, I was there twice. I saw the signs and glaring brash lights and the legend high end stores and the Broadway theaters and the famous buildings there. I saw the costumed comic characters and the scantily clad performers.
I walked past a man who was all covered in gold color- face, suit and tie and pants- even shoes. The only thing not gold colored was the whites of his eyes. He was staring ahead blankly and totally motionless. I walked directly past him and stopped after more than 10 meters and took a telephoto lens photo of him (see it in my attached collection of photos). He suddenly and immediately rose from his stupor and jumped to life and yelled at me and started running after me.
I also climbed all the red steps of the bleachers of TKTS
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Walking through there is free
WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
I know that I shouldn't, but I know that I will, especially since my next visit is guiding a family on their first-ever visit to NYC.
ADVICE from IVTP
* If you have to go and see it and be there (so you can say that you were there), then do that
* Better during the day than at night
* Be aware of and steer clear of and avoid any eye contact or interaction with the shady characters, especially all the costumed ones
* Use "situational awareness" about your belongings, and especially about your young children
* Know that any store or restaurant will be outrageously expensive

It’s wonderful to experience the exciting vibe of this iconic spot in New spot: people of all walks of life are here taking in the shopping, red stairs ticket lineups, music, massive lit up billboards, food vendors… it’s crowded and beautiful to be in the middle of it!

The famous tiny steps of Time square was inaccessible. The neighborhood could Canabis. Many shops in the neighborhood. And giant screens have little interest. There are plenty of other places to visit in NYC

Enjoy the lights, the people, the cars, the theater, was full but not uncomfortable, fun taking pictures and walking on the streets.

Times Square is one of the main squares in New York, it is the heart of the nightlife and over the years has become the real symbol of this cosmopolitan city. With its lights and huge advertising signs it is one of the icons of New York. Cheerful and full of life the first time you see her is a shot, with the song playing in the background by Jay -Z ft Alicia Keys. Once in a lifetime you have to see it as the whole city of course.

Best seen at night. Lots of food and souvenir stalls, very busy but nice. It’s ok during the day but you get a better experience at night when all the lights are more visible.

We visited the end of November both during the day and evening, it’s always so busy.
Seeing Times Square at night is brilliant, the billboards are great to watch.

We forgot it was spring break week so the crowds were unbelievably dense. Lots of street performers and some in costumes. The larger than life billboards that attracts tourists from all over the world! Plenty of restaurants , theaters and pizza in just about every corner!

Times Square is a very busy and famous place in the Manhattan district of New York! Always full of a lot of people and deserves, therefore, double attention! There you will find many shops and restaurants! It is worth visiting as it is an important tourist spot in New York!

Having the hotel right on this square I crossed it dozens of times at all hours and, except for the early hours of the morning, it is always full of people of all kinds (dressed and scantily dressed) , of improvised shows, sounds and colors.

Well what can I say...we went, stayed & conquered, that's about it. The experience overall was ok, didn't feel intimidated as such but was constantly badgered one way or another by Red Bus touts & photographers but just ignored them tbh. The gift shops are just full of expensive tat!!!
There are plenty of homeless just lying across the sidewalks too, normally spaced out.
It's obviously very busy & noisy & you take your life in your hands trying to cross the roads but I suppose you can't go to NY & not visit

Times Square and the surrounding areas are very crowded during the holiday season. But it’s cool to see. It has everything from really weird people to high end places to eat.

Electric atmosphere. Crazy lights and I saw Snoop dogg live on the off chance! Times Square is a must see. There’s always something happening but it’s really really really busy. Thousands of people jostle for space all day every day. You have to do it but my hotel was literally just off Times Square and it rapidly became boring having to fight my way home every evening. Make it part of your exploring for sure. Don’t book a hotel near it unless of course you don’t mind the obvious difficulties in getting out of it. It’s crazy busy. Sadly, marijuana is legal in NY now so the smell of it is literally everywhere. I’m not knocking people for using it but it stinks and again, gets really irritating really quickly. A lot of the USA is the same now unfortunately. But please go there. See the sights and prepare to be literally blown away by the scale. It’s mindblowing.

Times Square. I was there during the ball drop I saw youtube airrack, when the ball dropped I thought that the ball would drop to the ground and make a Big BANG so I brought noise cancelling headphones everyone was looking at me weird. After I realized the it didn't acculy drop it was like a slo elevator. Over all it was a very magical night, also lots o pizza places.

We had to visit here whilst in NYC, it was really busy and packed with people. The lights were amazing though so worth to visit albeit brief. The souvenir shops however were very overpriced there are other places to buy at more reasonable prices so don’t just think it’s USA pricing.

There is a woman who works at the hats/scarf etc stall on Times Square would just like to say me and my mum have bought loads from her over the last few years she is lovely woman would highly recommend

This time visiting NYC with a dear friend, who is visiting the city for the first time. Times Square, right in the theater district, is of course a must for a fresh visitor. So we're going there. Many foreigners know the square from the huge clock that appears on one of the buildings on New Year's Eve.. many New Yorkers then visit the square to count down the minutes to the New Year. Leuk. And apart from New Year's Eve, the huge amount of giant light commercials is of course overwhelming. Many artists' cafés and restaurants were located on this square and in the surrounding area a long time ago, as well as many important theatres with world premieres of film and theatre performances. Now it's all pretty touristy in this neighborhood. Nevertheless, worth a visit!

Times Square is a must see place particularly at night, but it tends to be one of the most concentrated areas of tourists in the city.
There are restaurants and bars around Times Square plus walking distance from Broadway and the theatre scene. It's just as crowded in the day, so unless you're there at dawn or the early hours of the morning, be prepared for mayhem.

I had a great time here. My children and I went for the new year celebration. We had plans on being in Times Square for the dropping of the ball but I didn't last that long. It was our first time in New York and I really had a great time seeing the yellow cabbies riding the subway getting pizza same Time Square for the first time while they set up on the street. And it was very safe and secure there were cops everywhere and they were stopping people to see what business they had in the area so you know that you were protected. Because they literally ask you for proof of your business in that area. Great job New York City Police. Very fun and festive during the New Year time no strange incidents lots of photo ops lots of good food everywhere. My favorite place in that area was a place called Rize, my adult and teenage kids loved it. It's near Times Square I believe it's on 42nd Street. Anyway it's an attraction and it will virtually show you the state of New York within your tour and it has a very nice ride you'll have to go to see it.

Times square has ingrained itself in my brain as the best place in New York, I loved the bright lights, the crowds, the atmosphere, the shops, people and performances and music. It's an experience and a must do experience whilst in New York and believe me you will never forget this place. It really is the city that never sleeps and Times Square there always seemed to be a buzz in the air, day and night!

Grandiose. Place to do, lots of people, lots of shops, street shows... The red steps, many are sitting there and not moving.

Times Square is a must see, but once seen you've seen it. There are some fun photo-ops, but before you hand those offering a fun photo your phone be aware that they want $20 (if not $20 per person in the photo). To be fair, we gave them much less and they weren't too aggressive and we got the phone back. (I'm not sure how much the near naked girls wanted for picture.)

Loved Times Square!! We had so much fun walking around taking it all in. Street performers, the stores, ate the best apple turnover! This was such an incredible experience! Rode the wooden escalator at Macy’s, visited the M&M store….if you love M&M’s this is a must visit! We found a common area with tables & chairs took a nice break to just watch all the activity. I am excited for the next trip!!

No what I was expecting. So underwhelming. Smaller than I’d thought. For a place which says it never sleeps it was o ok pretty dead in the morning at 7am hardly anywhere open.
The worst bit was all the dodgy people selling stolen goods, counterfeit goods and random fruit vendors. You get constantly harassed by them and the top of the bus people everywhere which who are extremely pushy.
All in all I’d never return. Worst holiday I’ve had in my lifetime

Central point of visit to NYC. Must be the first or second most visited place in the world. Place to get as much attention as possible in NY. A lot of people and sometimes easy to get lost from someone who is with you.

Impossible not to pass by time square if you go to NY. Perhaps one of the most iconic intersections in the world. Beautiful in the evening for the LEDs, billboards and characters present.

Thames Square ... The heart of Manhattan and vibrant New York
Endless bustle ... Infinity human movement .. It's New York (Manhattan) Ad Lights People
Everything here is different... Walk and run up to see skyscrapers and everything at the top

I think that everybody who is visiting NYC plans to visit this place. It's definitely not a square but several streets with lot of enormous digital adverts, people begging for dollar or two, more tourists than locals, drugged folk, big noise but it has something special - the atmosphere. We visited it during the day and were careful with our belongings as we read about skill thieves. My goddaughter who was in NYC the same time as us stayed in a hotel in the area and despite had a room on 36 floor told me she and her partner were not able to sleep due to the noise in the night.

We dove headfirst into the constant energy of Times Square, and boy, did we get more than we bargained for! As a couple, we found ourselves swept up in a sea of tourists, all desperately trying to capture the perfect selfie. This major shopping hub had us questioning our life choices as we accidentally bought matching I ❤️ NY shirts. Between dodging costumed characters and navigating through human billboards, we certainly had some memorable experiences. Who knew romance could bloom amidst the chaos of honking taxis and flashing billboards? Times Square: where love stories are written in neon!

Heart of a city of glass, concrete and scaffolding with seasoning of lights and billboards of exaggerated size. Spectacular, but seen once and in the evening, there is nothing else besides the large amount of people representing all mankind

The iconic landmark of NYC. Times Square is so lively and colorful, especially at night. The number of visitors from town and abroad is inmense. Great places to shop, eat, and visit.

Times Square is one of New York's most famous landmarks: a large intersection in the heart of Manhattan, dominated by giant bright advertising screens that line the surrounding buildings. It is always crowded with people, including international brand stores, souvenir boutiques and picturesque characters such as the famous “naked cowboy” with the guitar or promoters of theaters and sightseeing tours disguised as cartoon characters.
Those who visit for the first time are speechless in front of that blaze of signs, lights and colors and, at the same time, can leave a little dazed. The chaos, music, bright lights and crowds make Times Square an almost overwhelming experience.

Very busy, a place to see in New York. So many people at all hours really very electrifying. As night falls the colors the lights the videos are even hypnotic

Times Square is pure, unadulterated New York energy! The dazzling lights, giant billboards, and constant buzz were a bit overwhelming at first, but we quickly embraced the chaos. It's a must-do for the sheer spectacle of it all.

Beautiful iconic place but in my opinion now it has become a circus... in New York there are much, much more beautiful places... too marketed as a location

Upon our first time visiting in the square, we marveled at the vibe. The amount of people was insane and at no time did we not feel safe. Noise, weed aroma, entertainment, retail....it was all there.
Been there, done it.

It’s on 42 street and best time to visit is in the evening, it’s very uplifting and full of positive energy . There are many shows around and characters with whom you can take pics ( 5 dollars)!

We were overwhelmed, then strangely charmed. Expect crowds, flashing lights, and maybe a random Elmo. Worth seeing, once!

You must see time square once and then your good . It’s so crowded and over priced but anything you need is right there. Don’t get caught taking photos with characters they will charge you and the bicycle rides also will cost you big bucks.

From the beginning, Guillermo reception is very friendly, and everyone is willing to help, with my wife we felt very comfortable, and the facilities are well maintained, ideal for having a great experience in New York

Very busy tourist spot, many walkways, shops, restaurants, street food, bars,
well diversified culture with many options of entertainment, theater, dances among other iconic options that we only see there.

You would think that New York has been popular forever but in the last 13 years it seems to have got even busier. Worse at night than in the day and we visited in October this time; January was quieter, but it was still a nightmare to fight through everyone to get where you want. Having said that, you can't really go to NYC and not go to Times Square and it's a lot better now that it is more pedestrianised.

Guess one cannot have enough of this place! Bright, energetic, crowded, vibrant - truly the heart & the essence of New York!

Wildly vibrant and chaotic even a few days before NYE at 11pm. They are setting up for the performances and security so traffic (car and human) is getting snarly

Times Square is a Must Do. It's a one of a kind experience. Go at night if you can. You can't beat the billboards and theater lights . It's always high energy, crowded and a great place to people watch. Nothing else like it in the world. If you're going at meal time, eat somewhere outside Times Square. With a few minutes walk food will be less expensive and way better.

Times Square was a sensory overload in the best way! The neon lights, bustling energy, and street performers made it a thrilling experience. We held hands, people-watched, and soaked in the vibrant atmosphere. Pure NYC magic!

You have to see it, but once is enough. Times Square is exactly what you imagine—bright, loud, chaotic, and jammed with tourists. It’s a spectacle, but not somewhere I’d linger. Good for the photos and to tick the box, then move on.

Wow it's so lively and exciting to be there and being a huge fan of watching movies shot there so I always wondered how it must be. Its was very busy and everyone happy and enjoying the moment. Prices of food near by is very expensive, if you walk couple of blocks its almost half.

We loved the vibe of Times Square and the various characters, bill boards and iconic sites.
We visited more than once to pick up the atmosphere during the day and how it changed at night.
The bill boards with their brightly coloured advertising are iconic and we were amazed by some of the 3D screens.
There are definitely some characters about and you do see the weird and odd people about but everyone was so friendly and the atmosphere was great.
Walking through Times Square and up the red steps taking in everything plus lots of photo opportunities.
It's a must visit place for anyone going to New York

It's fun place at the same time dazzling, chaotic, and unforgettable!!!. The giant screens flashing makes it look like a movie scene and the taxis honking, street performers- it's like so different. New York Trip cannot be complete without a Times Square tour.
NOTE: Be ready for some extra crowd! If you’re not in the mood for chaos, it can be quite exhausting for you...

Very Overrated, you have to go but it is just so Busy, glad didn't stay in Times Square. Yes New York is busy but Times Square is just so Chaotic. Saying that we did go 6am one morning when we couldn't sleep. Was great seeing everything in a different light. You have to go though 🙂

Good fun to see, couldnt really visit New York without visiting Times Square. Okay , Ive done it now, I don't feel the need to go back..of course it might happen if we go close by to see a show another time, but otherwise, I think, once is enough unless something special happeneing I guess

Times Square is the center of the Nieva York musical show and the world, the square that never sleeps. There are always people from all tribes

In times square there really is the whole world, people of every nation and ethnicity, of every state and social condition, colors, music, smells.
You can't put it into words, you really have to try it. New York is unique!

Picture this: a good fair mixed with the Kalverstraat and a whole can of street artists. Voila. Mindblowing, lots of light, lots of commercials, lots of noise and lots of people. You must've seen it sometime. Coincidentally also participated in a beautiful street act. 20 bucks poorer but a very fat memory richer. Beautiful piece of NY.

Perhaps my opinion is not very well received, but the place seems overrated, if you go for the first time you have to visit it, but I think there are more beautiful areas with fewer people.

The most hyped place of New York, Times Square. Hyped or not but it is definitely a happening place and is full of life at all times. The lights, the stores, the theatres, the crowds, all are super cool. It may be a highly touristy but after all its fun to visit when in Manhattan.

Visiting Times Square is a must during a trip to New York! As soon as you enter this vibrant place, you are instantly enveloped by the energy and excitement of the city.
The bright lights of billboards, the lively crowds and the impressive architecture of the buildings create a unique atmosphere. I particularly appreciated the fact that there is always something to see or do, whether it be street performances, artists, or just watching people's endless ballet.
It’s also a great base from which to explore other nearby attractions, such as Broadway, where you can watch amazing shows, and Hell’s Kitchen, which is packed with delicious restaurants.
However, be prepared for the crowds. Times Square can be very busy, especially at night. It is therefore advisable to plan your visit accordingly.
In short, Times Square is an iconic place that captures the essence of New York. Don’t miss a visit, even if it’s only for a few photos and enjoy the unique atmosphere!

Times Square is always buzzing with energy, and we ended up visiting almost every night since our hotel was in Hell's Kitchen. It's the perfect spot for a nighttime stroll, with its bright lights, huge billboards, and nonstop action. While it can be overwhelming at times, the atmosphere is something you can't really experience anywhere else. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, taking in the sights, or just people-watching, it’s a fun and iconic place to spend time.

What an awesome place! This is iconic NYC!! Crowds! Massive colorful screens everywhere! People watching! Shopping! Food!

What about this city that never sleeps.
Already, my Inn on time square on the 57th floor (impressive)
An incredible cosmopolitan crowd of color and freshness.
Really, a city that wins has to be visited once.

- Times Square is a treat for all your senses. It is everything you expect and more.
- Great place for people watching and/ or meeting other tourists.
- Lots of shops, good restaurants, food carts, souvenirs shops and sellers, street performers, etc. and of course theatre’s for the broadway shows are here as well. I like the diversity, the busyness and craziness of it all. You can really feel the NYC vibes in this place
- Our hotel is just a few blocks away from Time Square and we walk through it every day, at different times of the day, that includes the 11:57pm art show.
- If you only went there, for a short time, just to take a picture or for the sake of seeing the place, then you won’t be able to appreciate this place as much.

It’s a place where it meets, as Alejo Carpentier said, everything real wonderful about this world, it’s like a whirlwind of sensations, smells of all kinds, people everywhere, giant screens mind-blowing, music of all kinds, in short, it’s what the world calls today a 24/7 everyday, for me, it’s certainly a place that if you visit New York you won’t miss, some start hating it, others like me end up cataloguing a: neither with you nor without It’s...It’s Time Square in New York!

Time Square is all the madness, grandeur and exaggeration of New York. A square extremely frequented by tens of thousands of people who crowd it every day. Numerous light panels have made this square a symbol. two days and nights, it is an incredible place. The setting is faith, the Impression of being in a special part of the city. We can't not go there. You can't not appreciate it.

So Times Square is iconic, but make a plan to stay safe when you visit. When I first visited 15 years ago it was an exciting experience without so much emphasis on hustles. Now, the vibe has slightly changed and not all for the best. The lights glitz and glamour are still there but there is also a dark side to this touristy area. I experienced and was sometimes bothered by someone trying to make a hustle every few mins. Sometimes they were too close on my person and too intrusive. Sometimes you don’t want to buy anything when you visit Times Square… you just want to people watch, take pics and take in the beautiful sites of an iconic landmark. There are signs everywhere to watch for pick pocket scams and that is very real. Wear a front facing bag or fanny pack. Watch your children and just overall be mindful. It’s always busy but Saturday night was very crowded compared to a week night. It’s a fun place but could also result in a rip off if you’re not aware and alert. Also most of the nyc gift stores in Times Square are very overpriced. One store in particular there was an employee who was very unkind. Venture into the neighborhoods outside of Times Square to buy gifts or check out the small merchandise cart vendors in the area. They offer more reasonable prices sometimes 50% less than the brick and mortar stores. If you buy food from food trucks always ask the price of your meal before paying! Most of those trucks don’t have the prices advertised which means what they charge one person may be different than what they charge the next! I do like how the Times Square subway connects to and offers free transfers to other train lines. Also the broadway shows right off of Times Square are amazing. So there is a lot to do and see but have a plan when you visit to stay safe.

We took 29 adults/high school musical students to New York. You have to go to Times Square when in New York but it isn't anything special. It is fun to see things you recognize but there are a lot of people. A lot of homeless. A lot of stores to spend money in.

One of the symbols of New York.
Much more impressed in the evening with all the lights, during the day it is not who knows what.
Obviously a lot of people.

Times Square
New York City
Don’t buy food in tourist areas.
998060869
It’s a harsh world. If ya make a mistake, you’re gonna pay.
My mistake was buying a pretzel from a guy on Times Square. I learned long ago that you NEVER buy anything, especially food, in a tourist area.
Then, I tap my credit card on his phone, my request to see what I was paying met with a look that said “I don’t speak English” (or probably any language, for that matter).
So. This pretzel was apparently made during the Truman presidency; after masticating on a small bit for three blocks, I threw it out.
On to home, to check my VISA account: Had I been charged $500 USD for my snack? Phew! Thankfully no.
In the end my mistake only cost me $7.97 CDN. Not a bad price for a lesson well relearned.
Caveat Emptor!

Times Square, very touristy with all its glitz and crowds, is a timeless source of energy and entertainment. Truly iconic.

We have visited Times Square on multiple occasions in the last few years. It is at the center of Manhattan and accessable by numerous subway lines. If you enjoy crowds of people and lots of activity this is Nirvana. The lights and billboards are like no other place on earth. There are numerous theatres in the area and lots of great places to eat.

Horrible what a dirty touristy dump.
Noisy hot and pestered constantly by people wanting your money to go on trips or buy rubbish from them.
Watch out for the people in costumes they want your money for photos.
There are so many homeless and drug addicts about it is very sad to see these zombie like people everywhere.
Avoid Times Square it’s not worth it.

Times Square is an iconic spot that truly captures the vibrant essence of New York City. With its dazzling lights, towering billboards, and endless activity, it's a place that never sleeps. Whether you're catching a Broadway show, shopping, or simply people-watching, Times Square offers an unforgettable experience. It can be crowded and overwhelming at times, but that's all part of its unique charm. A must-visit for anyone looking to feel the pulse of the city.

New York City is one of the most mesmerizing places I’ve ever been to. The moment I crossed the bridge from New Jersey into New York, I felt chills running down my spine and a tear slipped down my face (little bit dramatic). When I saw that blue sign that said “Welcome to New York City,” something inside me just… clicked. It felt like I was suddenly living inside one of those early 2000s rom-coms.
I know some people say New York is dirty, crowded, full of rats, and too loud — and maybe they’re right in some ways. But no matter what your personal preferences are, you can’t deny that New York leaves an impression. It changes something inside you forever — whether that’s love or dislike.
You either fall completely in love with the buildings, the noise, the street vendors, the energy, the chaos… or you feel overwhelmed by the iconic sirens, the rush, and the feeling of being so tiny among all those skyscrapers. There’s really no in-between. You either love it or hate it.
For me, it was love at first sight. When I saw those buildings, I couldn’t help but gasp. I grabbed my phone and started taking thousands of pictures. The first time I went, we traveled by car and crossed the bridge that connects Queens and Manhattan. We stayed in Queens for a bit, and a few things didn’t go as planned — I spilled water on my pants (and it was freezing), my phone died, we were hungry and tired — but honestly, none of that mattered because I WAS IN NEW YORK. My mind couldn’t process it. Maybe it was because I grew up watching all those amazing shows and movies like Friends, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Home Alone 2, The Devil Wears Prada, Bride Wars, and so many more. It was like a dream come true.
Since we left the car in Queens, we had to take the subway. I was a bit nervous about it, but we went anyway. And honestly? If you’ve never been to the U.S.A, walking down those stairs into the subway feels like stepping straight into the “American dream.” It was surreal. I got the strongest déjà vu, like I had lived there before — like I was finally coming back home.
When we arrived at Times Square, my heart was racing. Climbing up the subway stairs and seeing the lights, the chaos, the life… it was breathtaking. In that moment, I felt like I had found my place in the world. We saw the Vessel, the famous Louis Vuitton building, we ate at some amazing restaurants — this tiny Mexican place with incredible food and a Colombian one also— visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum, the American Dream Mall (which is in New Jersey, but still), the M&M’s and Hershey stores, and even the Pelé Soccer shop in Times Square.
What amazed me the most wasn’t just the places we visited, but how everything made me feel. It was like every corner had a story. You look up and see thousands of windows in the skyscrapers and think — every person in there has their own world, their own perfect chaos — and I was finally inside one of my own.
Maybe New York isn’t for everyone, but for me, it was everything. And I think it’s a place you have to experience for yourself — to see how it makes you feel, to find your place in this big and crazy world.
I hope someday I can go back, learn more about the city, and keep exploring new places. No matter where life takes you, who you become or even if you’re not as obsessed with New York as I am, New York will always be there — shining, alive, full of stories, with lights waiting to steal your heart all over again and ready to remind you that magic still exists.

Great to experience (my second time), just be wary. Not for people who don’t like crowds, we literally couldn’t move for the thousands of people there at all kinds of different times throughout the day. Also, a character came up to my husband and posed and so I took a photo, next thing you know, five others had joined. They then asked me for $30 for taking the pic on my own phone. They said it was $5 per person to which I replied, I didn’t ask you to have a photo, you just came up to us. We walked away from lots of abuse from them.

Times Square is undeniably the heart of New York City in many ways. Geographically, it’s centrally located in Midtown, close to Central Park and surrounded by a wealth of attractions like Grand Central Station, the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and the New York Public Library. There’s so much to see and do around Times Square, which is always dazzling with its bright lights, street performers, and the constant throng of people capturing photos and videos.
Be prepared to be approached by costumed characters offering photo ops—these are fun but typically come with a fee. The area is also packed with restaurants, including many famous American chains, so you’ll always find something to eat, no matter the time of day or night. Despite the chaos, there’s a certain charm to Times Square, making it a must-visit spot where the energy of the city is palpable 24/7.

Not gonna lie, I did enjoy some of the more creative uses of the high-tech, eye-assaulting advertising that coats the throngs of passers-through and hangers-on as they sometimes fail to bypass the street-savvy scammer hawking character photo-ops, bus tours, or Comedy Central shows.
That said, unless you can find a seat on those bleachers and enjoy the people-watching, I would just take a few pictures of the hustle and bustle, then go somewhere quiet and read Bertrand Russell. If you need to pass through to get from Point A to Point B, look ahead and don't get distracted by the billionaire brands and humorous hoaxes aiming for your attention.

Wrap up well walk, take the Metro or bus service. Central Park and the Museums (we went to the Museum of New York & the American National History) are worth a visit.Restaurants galore from inexpensive to very expensive but every type. Try the Irish pubs for information and directions or your hotel. The Kimpton Theta was wonderful the staff were friendly and helpful and couold not do enough for you, each guest was special to them. Cafes varied from $6 to $12 for one egg & cheese roll.

Times Square is one of the worst tourist attraction places i have ever been to. We walked through once as quick as we could, got out and avoided it every other day we were in the area. There is nothing interesting to see, all you do is push past beggars, scammers and other tourists. Construction on the footpaths and surrounding streets makes it even more difficult to navigate.

Mythical and unmissable place obviously on the other hand woooow far too many people, it is sometimes even complicated to move there especially during holidays .. to be in peace, go early in the morning or ace at night

Have been a few times. Cool stop for tourists but after a one or two visits it’s a bit overrated. It gets extremely crowded.

Another experience off my bucket list. It is an amazing sight and very busy part of New York. There are several shops and places to eat.

It seemed to be in a movie📽Beautiful everything🇺🇲AMERICA is expensive but it is worth going there.A Dream realized 😍

Crowds of people taking pictures to the spectacular screens that illuminate every corner of NYC.
Must-see walk, preferably in the afternoon-night to enjoy the lights and music of the place.

Walking in the Time square area where you can see all its illuminations and its many advertising spots day and night.

Amazing experience, busy but visiting at Christmas was expected! Recommend visit here and the rockafella at 4.30am no crowds same experience

My son wanted to check it out so I said I would go with him. It was exactly what I thought it would be. A mini Las Vegas in the middle of NYC. Stupid bright lights everywhere with terrible tourist restaurants and scammers dressed up trying to take your picture. Couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Our hotel was a stone's throw from Time Square so we spent every day at least 4 or 5 times. skyscrapers covered with these mega LED screens that kidnapped you with their millions of colori.il fulcrum of New York life frequented at every hour of the day.fantastico environment to contemplate always with your nose up!

My husband and I had never been to Times Square and were very excited to go. It was a pleasant walk from the Hilton Midtown, but we were pushed to purchase the On/Off Bus passes on every street corner. We politely said no and the vendors were polite UNTIL we got to Times Square where a very pushy man tried again to get us to purchase the On/Off Bus passes again. When we said, "No thank you", he kept moving in front of the shots we were trying to take of Times Square. No matter where I turned, he was there again. I told him we didn't have time to take the bus tour and he shouted, "Well we don't have time for you either!" At that point, a police officer appeared and the vendor disappeared. My husband, a retired police officer of 32 years, thanked the officer and we went on our way.
Needless to say, we will never go back. We did have a nice meal at John's Pizzeria.

Really disappointed, totally underwhelming. Just a glorified intersection with digital billboards. Don’t waste your time going here. Full of vendors selling crap trying to extort money out of you. A waste of time.

It's not a square like Leicester or Trafalgar Squares, more an area of roads. I honestly expected it to be bigger and brasher and while I hate this over-commercialisation, I thought it would be worse than it was. Definitely go once whatever your thoughts beforehand

I must visit when you visit New York the lights the atmosphere amazing but don't forget about all the side streets and the secrets they hold try not to dine in the main areas try and find those little gems we love times Square in the winter a little warning be careful and avoid the people who are dressed up!

Totally overcrowded. We were almost unable to move at times. There were so many people that everyone came to a halt when someone up ahead stopped to people watch or to a picture.
We were like everyone else in that we wanted to see it but once was plenty.

Times Square is exactly the American icon it means to be. Flashing billboards, tons of people, characters dressed in tacky costumes hoping tourists will pay them for a picture, and lots of shopping and restaurants (the latter were not as impressive, as most of the restaurants and stores right on the square are chains. Try a food truck instead). It was fun just to walk around and people watch.

The lights, billboards, and energy are like nothing else in the world. It’s busy and lively, but that’s part of the fun. Perfect for photos in the iconic New York vibe. A must-visit.

So incredibly busy. Struggled to get through crowds in the evening. Would recommend staying in a hotel away from the crowds and visiting in the morning or day

Impresses at first glance, but then you realize the absurd amount of people there, and what people!!??
It smells like cane everywhere and is obviously very dirty. I didn't like it at all.

One of My top most Favourite places in the world ,the crowd ,the vibes ,the ambiance, everything was electrifying and Mesmerizing..Just loved the place ..Hope to visit there again

At night it’s a culture all of it own. Felt very safe but very crowded- food and theater all around and the bright lights are all lit up. There’s things to purchase and engage in as well as some great photo opportunities.

This place is ok. It’s very crowded, and food and souvenirs are over priced.
If you’re stopping by to check it off the list, I recommend that, but if you want to eat or shop, I’d recommend other spots i the city for this.

Times Square is pure energy! Visiting with my best friends was such a fun experience – the lights, the buzz, and the endless people-watching made it unforgettable. It’s a must-see spot that truly captures the spirit of NYC.

On recent first time visit to NY, our hotel was situated just off Times Square so no escaping it. Evening and night it is over crowded, loud, overwhelming, and I didn’t enjoy it. First thing in the morning is best time to walk through it and out of it! Visit once and that’s enough. Unpleasant and tacky, all walks of life, some more unsavoury than others.

It is the ultimate must do for anyone visiting New York. It is exactly like it is in the movies, was amazing to see all the lights.

It is certainly not the place I would recommend to people who love silence, peace and solitude, as there you will find the opposite: bustle, traffic jammed, waves of people down the street, etc. The place, like so many others in the city, does not impact because we have it very seen on television. Personally it struck me that it was smaller than I imagined. Otherwise, it seems to me to be an appalling place lacking humanity.

It wasn’t as nice as it is always presented on movies/television. There’s plenty of garbage in the area in spite of being a top tourist spot. The billboard ads look nicer at night. Stay away from scammers, and ignore those trying to approach you. The area has a police station and is patrolled by cops for safety.

Times Square is a busy, vibrant place, filled with restaurants, theatres, shops and street entertainers. There is the TKTS booth by the red steps where you can purchase theatre tickets at discounted prices. The area is much busier in the evening, more chaotic than in the daytime, and restaurants would need to be booked. I preferred it during the day, with less people around.

Iconic spot of great New York surprises you with all those bright signs, so it's advisable to go dark

If you do not like crowds then I would suggest you avoid Times Square. We went on a Tuesday night after seeing a show on Broadway and it was packed with people. That being said despite the crowds we had no issues and did not witness any incidents and never felt unsafe. Glad we visited Times Square but might not be for everyone.

Had a great time with my girlfriend, very strong vibes all around. If you are a tourist then you should go there at least once.
Whatever you never go!

Everyone should see it one time but it has become so touristy and kitschy that it has basically turn into a joke. Combine that with trying to enjoy it with a zillion people at the same time and that is about it

The entire world has heard of New York City's
Times Square, the good the bad and the ugly,
and thankfully they keep coming back!
FYI- I was born here, and I love NY.
A NYC welcome to all tourists from around the world.
Please enjoy all "Times Square" has to offer without fear.

Love it every time i visit.. Breakfast at Carnegie’s, central park zoo..freezing temperatures (~7 degrees) breathtaking views of central park., Home Alone Tour, statue of liberty meal at BBQs, MnM store,Madison square gardens.. truly a concrete jungle.

What to say about this place, it is completely beautiful, magical and crazy, it is chaotic and obnubiliating at the same time, you have to go in the morning, in the afternoon and at night, they are 3 different shows, hurts the police, they are all arrogant and high-handed, they do not know how to deal with tourism.

Visited in July and had a wonderful time walking near broadway and see the bright lights. A great place to grab a bite and enjoy shopping while waiting on a show.

Yes, it’s an institution and all life is really here - from terrifying looking disney characters to all the local scammers and a few pick pockets thrown in. Go, walk through, take a snap and leave - and keep a tight hold on your belongings. Like Piccadilly Circus on meth….

Times Square overwhelmed us at first—neon, noise, energy everywhere! But holding hands amid the madness felt oddly romantic. We laughed, snapped goofy photos, and shared a giant pretzel. Not peaceful, but 100% New York—and 100% us.

It is always crowded with tourists especially at night and is somewhat tacky. However, this remains a must see if it's your first time in NYC. Many including myself would argue that you are standing in the center of the world. Everyone on the planet is familiar with Times Square. Best to experience after dark when the lights are glowing and the atmosphere is lively. It is complete sensory overload. No need to stay more than 15 minutes to get the experience. The best views and photos are along Broadway between 46th and 48th street. The area is very safe with a strong police presence but beware of pickpockets.

This is just summer holiday experience with kids. Kids enjoyed a lot living near by Times Square hotel double tree. Really it is good to be there.

This was my first time to visit Time Square. You hear all types of stories about this place. There is no way to describe it. It is the melting pot of the world. You will hear ever language you could think of when you walk thought the Square. Let me say. It is the tourist trap you have heard about. Just stay away from the action figures and take it all in. It is cleaner than I thought it would be. It is in pretty good shape. You have to see Time Square. You have not been to the Big Apple without seeing it. I was glad I went! LOL!

Vibrant street , so much activities and sight seeing.
Lovely restaurants and street food.lots of entertainment for kids and their favorite Disney characters 🙏🏾
Make sure to take some pictures and create memories because we did💕💕💕

It’s a more vibrant antique. The world is where you can buy as many brands as possible and everyone in the family can enjoy the shopping of events.

It's a cliché, it's a "vacationer pick" but go, if you don't spend one day and another night you haven't visited New York, enjoy eating a $0.99 pizza nearby.

Times Square is the face of New York. Portrayed in numerous films and songs, this place is easily recognized by getting there. The amount of outdoors and screens delight all passers. And at night, everything gets even more impactful.

Time square is essential with its giant screens we take full eyes..I join another recent opinion the smell of cannabis looms we have been solicited several times. Otherwise many restaurants and shops that despite Black friday were not at all interesting. But the atmosphere is still there and it is great.

A very overwhelming experience due to all the people hassling you trying to get you to buy stuff or to scam you with picture opportunities. It was hard to appreciate the area due to this so we only went once and didn’t return during our stay. It is essentially just lots of huge billboards and full of scammers/hasslers. If you look like a tourist you will get hassled even more! Walk through once and that would be enough.

No visit to NY is complete without a walk through Time Square.
Great for theatre district.
Very noisy, busy and very touristy.
Fast food places, shops, it has it all.
Ideal phot spot .

Wonderful, deserves the fame you have. When we arrived, I was excited.
We went in the winter, it was a delight to walk through Times Square. Always beautiful

We had to do it. It’s loud, it’s chaotic, it’s over-the-top—and it’s classic New York.
We checked out the scene, took it all in—giant billboards lighting up the night like a weekday Chanukah party, crowds from every corner of the world, street performers doing their thing, and of course… we took a beautiful family picture right in the middle of it all. Because if you didn’t pose in Times Square, did you even go?
It’s not the place for quiet reflection, but it is the place to feel the pulse of the city.
One visit is enough for some, but we loved the energy, the people-watching, and the sheer New York-ness of it all. It’s a wild ride—but sometimes, you’ve gotta lean into the chaos and snap that perfect pic.

Love it or hate it Times Squre is a must see when visiting NYC. Recommended seeing it during the day and at night for the billboard lights.
Always lots going on. Lots of photo opportunities.
Very busy most of the time. Difficult to get in to many of the restaurants here as so many people. Prebook of there is somewhere you particularly want to eat.
We walked through TS day and night every day of our 5 day trip.
Very highly recommended. Well worth going out of your way for.

Even for work, Time Square is exhilarating! Getting around was a breeze with the excellent public transportation, and the energy of the city is contagious. Loved being in the heart of it all!

Visit of Time Square between 6am and 8am both times I do not regret at all! Very few people and even had the chance to come across a photographer who gave me pictures for free on Time Square!!

In order to fully experience the vibe of what New York City is I greatly recommend walking around and enjoying all the sights that Times Square has to offer. You can never go wrong with exploring Times Square any time of the day or night. There is always something for everyone while exploring Times Square. The street shows that take place at Times Square are great and fun to enjoy and watch. There is never a boring moment at Times Square.

What about... New York = Times Square
crowded square and simply spectacular and incredible ... you see everything in all directions

Timesquare is beautiful with the billboards and roads closed in together. I literally wish I could live inside of Timesquare. Came here in August 2024 for a family holiday. I stayed in the fantastic Marriott Marquis. Did many activities, too. Marriott Marquis gives out tickets for the bus rides (tour) if you have a room. That was the cherry on top. Wonderful holiday in timesquare and planning on coming back in the future

It is a symbolic district of the city.
Always crowded , but that doesn't detract from its charm .
In Times Square there is life day and night.
At sunset the lights of advertising catch your eye in a bewitching and suggestive way.
And a sandwich with a giant wrustel from one of the many vendors equipped on the streets becomes an almost mandatory experience.

The energy was contagious! We strolled hand-in-hand, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. Street performers dazzled us, and the aroma of street food tempted our taste buds.

Loved everything so close! We stayed on Times Square and it was so convenient. Within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. Very lively and did not feel nervous walking. Although be aware of your surroundings. Many street vendors in the evenings.

Great place to go. My hotel was close so i went. Large installations of TV screens and adverts everywhere you look. It’s amazing I went at midnight. Better to go in the evening. It’s all open till very late. Must go!

Mandatory stop for visitors to New York, it is one of its postcards. All the agitation and unbroken movement of the city can be felt in these few neighborhoods. During the day, there is a huge traffic of tourists and workers. At the end of the day, tourists are approached by fantasy people and sellers. We went one day in the evening and there was a fair with various food and also quinoa.

We reserved a parking spot at City Parking on 44th Street W. We had no idea when we got up to the street what we would see. We walked toward 7th avenue, and lo and behold, we were in Times Square. Lots of people in excited moods. Tall, lit buildings, begging for a photo to be taken. So, we took a few. Then headed toward 5th Avenue and all that it had to offer.

I've been here many times before. It's a noisy place to watch performances. Make a lot of photo checks. A street with lots of advertising, glowing screens.

Top ... The best thing you can do is take a boat tour around the statue., a worldwide one you have to do in new York

We went over it again after so many years, in the evening and probably will do it again in the next few days... it's a corner of the world and NYC in itself... in every way

Times Square is a tourist trap. It’s extremely busy (especially towards the evening and on weekends). There’s so many people that it feels hard to move.
The lights and screens are great but there are so many tourists, people trying to scam you with either buying photos or dressed up as characters from tv shows/films that it doesn’t feel safe.
The food trucks smell awful and they are on every corner.
I would defintely not come here with children or anyone who suffers from autistic traits/epilepsy

What a fabulous, vibrant, exciting place. We loved it and went twice while in NYC. Stopped for a cold one in the middle of the street. So many colorful animators. The workers keeping the streets clean work so hard. We loved our experience and would definitely recommend putting on your bucket list.

Not my favorite part of town, but it is the historic theater and entertainment area and worth a visit. Be prepared for huge crowds, some sidewalks almost impossible to walk on. There are a few pedestrian areas where traffic has been removed. It's been very cleaned up and is now extremely safe. Maybe a little too clean.

the view is great day and night with a crazy world at night. the screens are giant with 3D effects. we find the places we see in ads and movies

What a beautiful place! The lighting is stunning, the night is charming. Simply fantastic, indispensable not to include in the travel itinerary in NY

Don’t miss spending your evenings in Times Square and Broadway. Book the shows in advance. Walking around and simply observing is in any case an open-air spectacle

After formal checking in at Hotel Marriott and briefing by our Tour manager we visited Times Square which is just a 3 minute walk from the hitel. I was really surpriesd to witness the illumination and hustle-bustle, besides entertainment centers depicting songs/scenes of famous films of other countries on larhe screens. Lots of people were also gathered in a square like place that is formed at the intersection of Broadway, Seventh Avenue and 42nd streed. A few smaller streets were also merging at this Square. There were also some people wearing fancy dresses, i.e., in funny garbs making themlook like Statue of Liberty, or elephants or big apes etc. Besiides, many females with heavy make up were dressed in just bikini and passers-by were taking selfies with them. Later I came to know that people pay them some money for selfies with these garbed characters. Personallly speaking, this apalled me but coming back to the Times Square, it is a major tourist attraction for the local people and probably a bigger attraction for people of Asian countries where such types of activities are not experienced. I also took a few photographs and videos of the different activities at the Times Square, which derives its from the poular Times Magazine, whose publishers were initially operating from here. It is a must visit place of New York City, Manhattan midtown area.

So much to see. Times Square is alive with every possible sight, sound, smell, and taste you can imagine. (And some you can't imagine, too!) I loved the diversity, the street vendors, the cartoon characters, the lights, the colors, the energy. Of course, you are constantly dodging people, bikes and cars, so be prepared! The only thing that disappointed me was the pot smoking. I'm not overly sensitive to it, but it really was everywhere, which kind of bummed me out. I don't care what people choose to do, I just wish it was in my face a little less. This is a magical visit, though, and should not be missed. The M&M store alone is worth the trip!

NY at its core, how pretty it is. It will always be the must-see, must-see city, when someone arrives there what they live is special. It's got what cities with souls have and Times square is the summary

fantastic post, one of the best stops in New York, it was night and we were in the dark but when we got to that place everything lit up in a second, it seemed day, between billboards, shops and street shows we did not know what to watch from how much beauty there was❤️❤️.
even during the day this place is fantastic, definitely one of the best places to visit if you go to New York 🌆😍

Neighborhood par excellence of nightlife day and night. Even in the evening it seems day. Lights everywhere , music , big traffic especially on the weekend . You easily spend a lot of money if you are not careful. Prices are quite high even a single hotdog costs $10. From here they can walk to other points of interest. At time Square you will find the M&M and Lego store waooo fantastic!!! Beware of people dressed up as Disney characters because they approach tourists with a smile for the photo and then when the photo is taken they want $5.

I give the highest score to times square despite being at the end of a busy square, full of people and extremely commercial; nothing much, on paper, but once there it seems to be in one of the many American films (moreover many scenes were shot in times square) and it is an incredible feeling; screens, lights, shops of all kinds and of course all surrounded by skyscrapers; today's will not be a historic square, despite the origins date back to the early twentieth century, but it is a sort of almost hypnotic amusement park; perhaps needless to say, but it is to be seen first of all in the evening, where the lights stand out on the dark

New York native here (I live in Brooklyn). I would suggest you to avoid this area as it is filled with tourist traps, scams, and homeless people begging for donations. However I understand that it is considered one of the most iconic landmarks in NYC. So if you really do want to go, don't linger there for too long or you will definitely attract scammers. Do not purchase any souvenirs from sketchy-looking street vendors. Take a few photos and go on your way. It is not worth the hype. Visit the Lower East Side or Hell's Kitchen for a more authentic New York City experience, or even better, Queens or Brooklyn.

Amazing grand still many people but great atmosphere just pay attention the prices are very high but well you have to take into account the place

Times Square is a must-see for any New York visit. Centrally located, everyone should see the many lights and street artists. Mostly, however, this is very crowded.

Loud, busy, fun, a signt to not be missed.
If you come to NYC, you cant possibly not come to Times Square to experiences this place, it truly is the City that never sleeps.
Theres so much to look at and take in, whether that be the huge Neon billboards, the sounds, avoiding those annoying Big Bus sellers or even worse those damn Elmos. Minnie and Mickey costumes that just look so incredibly fake, I just want to know who is actually giving these people money!
Plenty of places to eat and shop in!
Hold you friends/partners hand, this place is so so busy, easy to get lost amongst the crowd!

A must see for any traveller in New York City. Great place to meet fellow tourists, taking photos and chatting.
The square is full of bright advertising boards and has a fabulous buzz, full of atmosphere.

Bring a lot of time. Actually, you can't process all this in one day. There's so much to see, MADNESS!

Een Must See in New York. Iconic square full of advertising and big screens.
We were here briefly because it was so busy. Didn't feel completely safe despite security running around (probably not for nothing). keep a close eye on and personal items.

Times Square is a place everyone should see but once is enough. It is very crowded, loud, smelly. People are pushy and it feels rather uncivilized. Hang onto your belongings. Don’t connect with scammers and you will survive the experience. Then get away from there and enjoy nicer parts of the city.

The unmissable Time Square crossroads, buildings and huge screens, be careful if you can’t stand the crowds. There's a lot of people.

A must see, but after 1x you have seen it. It is nice to take a rest on the stairs so you can observe everything.

Charming, incredible, a spectacular place to visit and experience that American culture along with all those lights, signs, advertisements, there are so many incredible photos to take.

To do day and night. The atmosphere is different. Lots of people at night.
It's like daylight at night with all the screens. It stings the eyes the first time lol.

Good night anyone stayed in a hotel inside the streets that cut to celebrate the new year? I have a Reservation that happens tmb on December 31 and I want to know if anyone lived the experience and if the hotel can be entered and left, thank you

I visited New York mainly for Broadway and late-night TV — The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Hamilton, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Without theatre and talk shows, I honestly would have turned around at the airport.
Times Square itself? Overhyped chaos. A mall-sized M&M’s store selling candy you can buy at any gas station. Shops that don’t compare to outlets in your hometown, let alone the hype of 5th Avenue. Costumed hustlers everywhere — keep your wallet, purse, and phone close.
Even Central Park, often ranked as the NYC must-see, left me scratching my head. It’s a park with trees. Coming from Florida, Georgia, or South Carolina, you’ll find neighborhood parks that match or beat it. The Statue of Liberty? It’s a statue that’s… standing.
Now, some credit: New York really is a city that never sleeps. Once you catch the vibe, you’ll feel safer in the heart of the city than expected. And it’s one of the few U.S. cities where a car isn’t needed at all — you can walk everywhere, or use the subway, which takes you almost anywhere you want to go. The subway system is gross, though, and you should be careful. For the most part, no one means you any harm, but some platforms can be eerily empty with just you standing there — so exercise caution.
Good for photos to prove you’ve been and for the Instagram crowd, but if you’re expecting magic, you’ll be let down. My advice: see a show, grab a coffee on a side street, and treat Times Square as a quick walk-through. Don’t believe the hype.

We spent some wonderful time in this iconic square enjoying the vibrancy of this amazing place. There is so much visual entertainment on the screens and with the people and performers on the street.

Times Square in New York City is renowned for its lively ambiance, well-known dining establishments, amazing shopping opportunities, digital billboards, and Broadway theaters, among other attractions.
Additionally, it serves as the location for the iconic New Year's Eve Ball.
It is an essential experience when visiting New York City.

Casino, casino, casino, all hours of the day and night. Lights, billboards, crowds. Times Square is not a place I would return to if I happened to be in New York a second time.

It's worth the trip ♥
Electrifying vibes with huge billboards, crazy crowds and impressive buildings all around, a really wow feeling there😍

Time Square is a NY trademark it's shocking you barely see it and at night even more so the lights that charm and it seems like the world goes by. It is good to always stay near that area and know the Metro accesses to be able to move
A family-friendly spectacle
The dazzling lights, massive digital billboards, and bustling crowds create a sensory overload that's unforgettable. We were particularly impressed by the world-class theaters, with their ornate architecture and captivating Broadway productions. The multi-level stores offered a diverse range of shopping experiences, from souvenirs to high-end fashion. While navigating the crowds can be challenging, Times Square is a must-see destination that embodies the energy and excitement of New York City.
