Good Mass Transit

By Doug F |

The Tri-Rail serves Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami Dade Counties. It is used mainly by commuters in the three counties. The Tr-Rail is about 75 miles long. Most trains are only three or four cars long. The train schedule varies according to the time of day. Most stations have ample parking. The route does not come close to tourist attractions. Many cities along the route have bus service to each station. When we travel the system we do feel safe. The seats are comfortable. One great feature of the Tri-Rail is that it connects with the Miami Dade mass transit system. Because the Tri-Rail is mostly for commuters it has limited service. The last train usually leaves Palm Beach around 9:00 p.m. and the last train from Miami is about departs about 9:30 p.m. Both trains take about two hours to arrive at the last station.

Excellent

A great, efficient, and economical way to get from Miami Airport

By Collettico |

Was traveling from Miami Airport to Pompano Beach and it was the most efficient and economical way to get between the two places.

Very affordable way to travel to Miami Aiport

By Nauticals |

I took the Tri-Rail from West Palm Beach to Miami Airport. They offer a complimentary shuttle from West Palm Beach Airport to the Tri-Rail station. Unfortunately, it runs every hour so I ended up taking Uber to the station. Information and signage seemed to be lacking. I had to ask a few people where ticketing was. After rushing I had missed the train by just a couple of minutes so had to wait an hour for the next. There is no indoor waiting area or restroom facilities. The train was clean with small luggage racks in each train. Given people travel to/from airports, they should be larger. The ride was just over 2 hours with clear announcements at each stop. Well worth the fare I paid which was $6.90.

Great route, disgusting conditions

By Vincent SJ |

I love Tri-Rail bcz locals can go to all the cities on the line and have fun. But the stations are gross and dirty, the train cars are filthy, and you would think someone from Tr-Rail would address it, but I have been here 3 years, its still horrible

HORRIBLE

By Tim_SoFla |

I ride Tri-fail daily. My afternoon train is NEVER on time, today was 42 minutes late, yesterday 25, last Mon and Tue it was 17. So I either totally miss my bus or I have to run up and over the tracks in 3 minutes. It is consistently 10-15 minutes late, with much later on some days. This is how it has been for the past 18 months. management is aware from the many complaints, but don't seem concerned enough to do anything.
If I could have given it a '0' I would have

nice change

By butchproffitt |

This was a nice change of pace. Windows were large, seats were o.k. it was nor very crowded at mid afternoon, there were 5 of us and we all seated together.

Great

The best way to travel South to Miami!
Relax as you pass the bumper to bumper cars on 95. Even fun for the kids to go for a train ride. Clean & Safe.

FLL to MIA

By 805sandy |

I landed at FLL and had to connect from MIA. I did a fair amount of research on this Trip-Rail but found I was still unprepared hence why I'm writing this more comprehensive review. First of all when in the airport asking directions be sure to ask for theTRI-RAIL and not the train as I did. In order to get to the "FLL" station you will have to take a shuttle bus, as it is not actually at the airport as the name suggests. The shuttle bus stops at the same place that you would catch the shuttles to the other terminals. The bus looks like a regular city bus but it is marked Tri-Rail on the side. There is a luggage rack in the middle of the bus. The ride to theTri-Rail station takes 25 mins - half hour. When you get to the station you will have to purchase tickets. The ticket booth was not open but there are two kiosks. One taking cash and one taking credit cards. I was lucky to be in the front of the line and bought my ticket quickly enabling me to catch the first train that arrived. The majority of persons who got off the same shuttle as me missed that train and had to wait half an hour for the next one to arrive. The ticket costed $3.75. The train to MIA is the southbound one which is on the side the shuttle drops you on. Once on the train there is a luggage rack in each car but if storing your bags there you are advised to keep an eye on them. I needed to to charge my phone and the onboard plugs are in the front rows by the door- far from the luggage rack so I kept my bag with me and no one made a fuss about it. No one came by to check to see if I had a ticket but I suspect there must be random inspectors boarding the train from time to time. The ride to MIA lasted 45 mins and you will have to take the airport monorail to get to the main terminal building. I would definitely recommend this as a cost effective way of commuting between the 2 airports if you have at least 4 hours between your flights.

Best way to go from Pompano Beach to MIA

By retiree88 |

Skip all the traffic and head to the nearest Tri-rail stop when going to MIA airport. It drops you off right in the terminal.

We Liked Our Ride !

By HawaiiSeaDog |

Took a return trip from Fort Lauderdale to Palm Beach. Everything worked out fine for us. The trains were on time. The carriages were clean and the conductor informative.
There is a free bus to the airport from Ft Lauderdale station.
Our tickets were $5 for travel all day on Sunday.
Good parking at Ft Lauderdale station.

tri-rail , a must to do and go to cityplace in west palm beach

By mrf-pompanobeach |

when we want to go to cityplace, we take our family/ some friends on tri-rail to cityplace and make it a full day there.

Great Way to Travel

By David D |

We caught the Tri-Rail in Pompano Beach and road it to Miami so we didn't have to fight traffic and parking, then used the public transit in Miami. A round-trip ticket was only $5.00, trains were very clean and well maintained, and all we used ran on time. Great way to get around.

Super service tri-rail florida train

By moggey |

Due to last minute circumstances,we found ourselves at Fort Lauderdale airport, but our cruise went from Miami..The train was the cheapest answer to get to Miami.Right outside the airport door was a sign, shuttle to the train….free.After a few minutes wait the bus came and took us to the station The trains run every 10 minutes or so.and theres a ramp so you dont have to lift your bags, plus the train attendant Was super helpful.30 minutes later for $3.75 each we were dropped off at Miami airport, right beside the metro station
I’m nearly 80,so if I can do this transfer, anyone can, plus folks were extremely helpful, getting us tickets from the machine on the platform.
The taxi was well over $100,plus would have taken way longer.
It took us 2 hours from Fort Lauderdale airport to our hotel in Brickell, using the train and the metro..

Quick and easy ride

By kby2k |

So far an easy way to get to Airports, no hassle. Just board and get to where you are going without driving or parking problems.

Bad service with that train number and driver

By Elle E |

The tri rail from metro rail station that departs at 4:56 pm is very bad. The engine driver sees people running and still decide to close door with just a few seconds to spare. I’ve always checked my time and I noticed these things a lot. It was never like this before. Looks like it is a certain driver that’s very impolite. He is male. The train number is P636. I’ve seen people that just need help heart broken. You have to run very quickly even if you can’t run too fast to make it. Even if it’s 4:56 pm as scheduled. Bad service overall. I hope changes can be made.

Miami Airport to Fort Lauderdale

By HawaiiSeaDog |

Arrive at Miami Airport and caught the train to Fort Lauderdale. The service was very convenient. We were travelling on a Sunday so only had to pay $5 each.

great way to get to Miami Airport

By Keith S |

We have used the Tri Rail for many years. Its just the best and easiest way to travel from Boca Raton to Miami airport. No hassle with traffic and bad drivers close to Miami. We will be using it again in a few months......

All Aboard!

By MARK L |

I'm one of those "dinosaurs" fascinated by trains. Unfortunately until recently unless you were cargo, train travel was fairly limited as far as destinations go. I recently took my grand daughter (8 years old) for a Tri-Rail trip to Bayfront in Miami.

The trip was great and we arrived on time. The car we were in was clean and I enjoyed watching my grand daughter take in the "sights" as we zoomed to Miami.

The train fare was very reasonable...it certainly was less expensive and less harrowing than driving into Miami and looking for a parking space.

My only negative regarding Tri-Rail is the fact the last train heading north leaves too early. If you want to go to as Marlins game (one of the few who does) you won't be able to stay for the whole game. Perhaps Tri Rail could run a late train, even on the weekend, and see what kind of ridership they attract.

Best way to the airport

By Danielle E |

Best way to go to either FLL or MIA airports. Clean trains, always on time and with good AC on. No complaints !

Can't be beat

By lee9 |

Convenient, efficient, cheap, easy and simply the best way to get to and from Miami International Airport from Broward & Palm Beach Counties....while Uber and other were charging $60+, and there was a 20 minute wait, plus the rush hour traffic was heavy, we were coasting along watching the scenery & a spectacular sunset!

Great option for transportation!

By LostGator09 |

This is a legit train and is a great option for traveling. Especially if you're traveling in between airports. We took it from West Palm Beach airport to Ft. Lauderdale airport and you can even take it to Miami airport. There was a free shuttle that took us to and from the station. The ride was less than $7 and the train had free wifi, water fountains, and bathrooms.

Friends

By Anamaria A |

This is the first time we ride the train to Miami Int'l Airport. It turned out to be a very good experience. Service was smooth and on time. We avoided heavy traffic both on I-95 and the Turnpike. No need to pay tolls and parking, and stress out driving in South Florida.
Will certainly do this again next time we need to go to MIA.

tri rail travel

By lewwd |

used tri rail for business. on time, clean no problems. nice experience and cost effective. conductor was helpful and knowledgeable.

Efficient way to get to Miami Airport

By merriden |

Easier to get to the airport than battling traffic on I-95. Convenient though crowded at certain times. Drawback is fewer trains in the evening so there could be a long wait for next train.

Not a bad ride.

By funmaru |

I use the Tri Rail for my commute from Lake Worth to Miami. The trains are outdated but it's not a bad ride. I currently go all the way to MIA to catch the Metro Rail Downtown because the elevator at the Metro Rail Transfer Metro Rail station is always broken and I can't take the stairs up. I work in the Brickell area so taking the train to Miami Central would have saved me time so I was excited that they were finally launching it but what they did defies logic. Instead of just a normal train going from Mangonia Park to Miami Central, you have to get off the train at Metro Rail Transfer and then catch another train that runs once an hour between those two stations. For that, I might as well keep taking the Metro Rail. I hope they fix that. I might try it anyway in the afternoon just to see what it's like. I'll update my review after I do that.

Train is great bus service from airport to train is awful The bus from the Ft Lauderdale airport to the train awful

By singerline |

The bus from the Ft Lauderdale airport to the train station is absolutely awful. It seems like it should take a brain surgeon to figure out how to get people from the airport to the train in time. I have been taking this for years. It consistently gets you to the train 5 minutes late which means you wait an hour for the next train. Customer service ha!!! This must be run by some incompetent government agency. Should be ashamed of yourselves.

Difficulty navigating to Uber from Tri Rail

By JustBeachy |

On 11/29/19 we arrived at Pompano Beach Tri Rail Station, asked transit employee to show us where to wait for our Uber. We were told to wait at the benches next to bus lane. Uber driver couldn’t get to us and charged a wait fee! We’ve never been to this location, had no idea where to go. Tri Rail should have signs for Uber (or other private transportation) pickup and Transit Emplyees need to be helpful with tourists.

Very handy way of transport to and from Miami Airport

By ClassicMinisonly |

Unfortunately America has a LONG way to go before it catches up with the Railway networks in most parts of the Western World. My only other experience before this was the Rail journey from Orlando to Hollywood, Florida. A nightmare journey I'd never repeat. However, I found this a very efficient method of getting from North Broward to Miami Airport. Very reasonable cost of $6. Journey took one hour. They are opening an extension all the way up to West Palm Beach, which is a bonus.

Excellent transportation option between Fort Lauderdale and Miami Airports.

By Miguemex |

It is an excellent transportation option between Fort Lauderdale and Miami Airports. Here my experience:
Cost 3.75 USD.
At the Fort Lauderdale airport I took the shuttle to the Tri-Rail train station, which is signposted at Gate B.
From there it took about 10 minutes. The station is not very crowded, it has a ticket issuance booth and explicit schedule information.
The tour is on the route to the south and takes approximately one hour and leaves you at the Miami airport.
Enjoy Tri-Rail because: LIFE...is a JOURNEY!

Tri Rail

By Marie P |

Tri rail stay having mechanical issues. You need to reimburse customers when things like this happens because people have places to be. I’m currently on tri rail train 1015 and we are experiencing mechanical issues. 2 weeks ago same issue and we had to wait over 40 minutes. My biggest issue was that they wait more than 10 minutes to let the passengers know what is happening. I will not be riding the train again to/from the airport. I suggest ride the tri rail when you are not crunching for time.

Totally unreliable

By Bill S |

Either 5 minutes early or 10, 20 or 60 minutes late. Never seem to be on time.

I've ridden it on at least 20 occasions and it's never spot on.

Great and inexpensive

By Sar C |

Very practical for connecting Miami - Fort Lauderdale airports. It costs $5.75 one way.

Super & Inexpensive

By Rschagrin |

First time riding Tri-Rail. Took it to the Miami International Airport. A very inexpensive way to get there even if it took one hour and 45 minutes.

Easy to navigate

By Michael John W |

Took from Ft Lauderdale airport to the Miami airport and aside from not knowing what kinds of tickets to buy at terminal we found it very easy and reliable. the entire mass transit in both cities was great!

Sweaty ride on Tri Rail

By Excursion68075554147 |

My wife and I live in Wellington and have a trip planned flying out of Miami. Thought the tri rail would be a good option for getting to the airport. Tried a trial run today just to see how it would work out. The train was on time at the Lake Worth station. It took 1 hour and 41 minutes, which is not bad. Once you exit the train at Miami airport you take the elevator or stairs to the next floor and take the MIA for 3 and 1/2 min ride to the airport.
The train was clean but very dated. The thing about the ride that gave it a 1 star was due to the temperature in the train. It was unbearably hot. By the time i got off the train i had a sheen of sweat on my arms, my shirt stuck to the leaderish seats, and i felt like a sweated mess. For someone that does not usually sweat this was bad.
If we were dressed to catch a plane flight we would not be happy campers at this point.
Even though the train had good attributes in my first paragraph it was definitely not an option if planning to catch a plane or anything that requires you to look and feel presentable.
This is a shame because otherwise this would be a very pleasant and affordable option.
Any by the way, there is no way to write an email to Tri rail or to David Dech the executive director, so that is why I chose trip advisor to express feedback.

Train is OK, Entire TIcketing System is Poor

By Deborah D |

The Tri-Rail is cheap and sometimes the best way to get to the airport. DO NOT get the EasyCard unless you are getting a reduced fare. You cannot reload it online because there is a flaw in the process whereby you cannot enter your correct address for payment. You still need to go to the kiosk at the station (half don't work) and load it there. In that case you might as well just purchase a paper ticket. My son purchased the card for me and instead of loading the $20 I asked him to, he paid the $2 and purchased a round trip miami ticket for $15, which expiredcd the same day as I was travelling the next day. I had to load the card again in the morning at 5am as there was a zero balance. No refund option, nothing for the lost $15. The system is so poor it's ridiculous.

Commuter review

By Eduardo F |

Today January 29th on the 4:09 northbound train I had a terrible experience in the public US tax paid commuter train. There was a guy dressed on an American Airlines uniform distributing religious propaganda inside the traveling train harassing passengers.

The same type of harassment occurs everyday throughout all stations of the Trirail commuter train. Maybe we should allow all kind of forms of expression on public areas and see what a circus will come in these times of knowledge and discovery. Shame...

Great

By Rschagrin |

Flew into Miami international airport and needed to get our car in North Ft Lauderdale. It was a holiday the fee was $5 , what a deal.

Leave the car!!!

By Joan B |

I always use tri-rail when I go to Miami, no parking to worry about, traffics always bad their, you can read, work, make calls, eat whatever. reliable and cheap. great!

Way to travel

By KellyCostaRica |

I have a friend who dies business in Miami and I'm in Fort Lauderdale. It's horrible traffic to drive down to meet her. I've found going by tri rail is s breeze! Love it! Clean and fast!!!

Travelling to FLL to MIA made easy...

By Daniel M |

My final destination was Miami Beach but my flight was to FLL airport a one-way ticket from FLL to MIA was around $4 plus there's a free shuttle from the airport to the train station, BIG DEAL I LOVED IT.

Totally amazing service inside the train.

By Juan Carlos Fernández Alemán @GoJuanca |

It’s so easy to use and so convenient when arriving to Miami airport. Follow the signs to miami mover. Then exit on the tri rail or the express depending where you are going.

You can go north to pompano beach or as near as brickell from the airport in a very short time.

Trains go every 20 minutes so you can hop on.

Totally recommended if you travel alone because you can save a lot of money depending where you are staying in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, boca , West palm and even further.

Very nice station. Quite impressed. Friendly helpful staff in the station as well as the trains. Very clean and an easy way to travel. Trains are clean, comfortable and attractive.

Trirail

By John G |

Took it from Miami into. to Ft. Lauderdale. Pretty seamless. Shuttle bus was waiting for the train. Much less stressful than driving. Lugg5was no problem. Crew was helpful. Not a scenic ride, but gets you there.rented a car at ft. Lauderdale. Cheaper than ft. Lauderdale

Economical but loud announcements

By Maps802375 |

It’s very convenient but the announcements are blaring loud to the point where it’s a bit painful. Even with earplugs to loud.

Great

By Rschagrin |

We were leaving from MIA and decided to take the Tri Rail instead of Uber or a car service.
It was only $ 30 round trip for 2 and took about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Well worth it.

tri-rail takes you from Miami airport and Northbound.

By Larry S |

Very convenient railway up and down the 95 freeway, with stops in each little town Conveniently takes you to ft lauderdale, Pompano, boca etc for $5-6 each way. Great in traffic as they get you to the airport in 30-40 minutes. Avoids the stress of driving in traffic and parking at the airport. Very convenient and comfortable. Great nes station at Miami Int Airport to disembark and walk into the airport upstairs..

Tri Rail is not perfect, but decent for traveling without a car

By SenpaiChan |

The passenger cars are in need of maintenance; especially in the interior of the cars, but overall they're decent. The trip was fun and it's how I get to commute from one county (only 3 counties) to another without the need of having a car. Best if you live close propinquity to their station. If you're a tourist and you want to visit South Florida's major cities, I recommend you to try Tri Rail.

Confusing as heck

By Chad K |

I have only gone once but my experience was... interesting.
They were remodeling the station I was at and I had a hard time figuring out how to get in!
Once I did get in, I bought a ticket and waited for the train to show up.
I boarded the train and looked around for someone to give the ticket to or a machine to insert it into but apparently tickets are optional as nobody ever checked if I'd paid.

Tri Rail Miami & Fort Lauderdale

By Neeevard |

We flew into Miami but were catching our cruise from Fort Lauderdale. This is a very convenient and cheap way to travel between the 2 airports. There are numerous stops past FLL airport which maybe better if u are staying at a beach hotel. It takes about an hour but us less than 10 dollars for 2. Don’t buy a return as it is only valid on day of purchase. Tickets can be bought from a machine wit cash or card.

Best ride to the airports

By Richard A |

As I live 50 miles north of Miami and the traffic to the MIA airport is horrendous, I now use TRI-RAIL to all airports. I get a neighbor to drop me off at the station ....the schedule is good, every 20 minutes or so...and each airport stop except for MIA has a shuttle bus waiting at no charge to take you the short distance to the airports. MIA is even better, since Tri-Rail delivers you directly to the airport. From Boca Raton the fare is only $5.65....and....if I drove with no traffic I would only save maybe 15 minutes....Security is good also as an officer goes along for the ride.

Train to MIA

By Robert C |

On time no worries 👍 slow but steady easier than trying to drive to the airport from Delray Beach and only 6.25.

Affordable transportation!

By Tjacks2 |

We used the Tri-Rail twice while in Fort Lauderdale. We had decided not to rent a car and used Uber and Lyft for most of our transportation. However, we went from the Pompano Tri-Rail station to the Mangonia Tri-Rail Station to get us close to the Palm Beach port to catch the Grand Celebration cruise. After the cruise, we took it again, this time all the way from Palm Beach (Mangonia station) to Fort Lauderdale station. The rides were so cheap - 5.00 per person for one of the trips and $5.60 for another. We each had a big suitcase, which didn't present a problem for us. The worst part was waiting for the train since it was so hot outside. The inside of the trains were very cool, clean and comfortable. I couldn't find restrooms at the station. Maybe they were there and I just didn't see them. Also, there aren't live attendants to sell tickets. It is just a machine where you input the station you are going to and it takes cash and credit cards. It isn't necessary to get there early, just early enough to go to the kiosk and buy the ticket. Once you get the tickets, you just hold onto them until someone comes to collect them. On one ride it was over 30 minutes before our ticket was taken. One other thing - we downloaded the tri-rail app which was very helpful. It includes the schedules, route map, station addresses, rates and more.

Inexpensive and convenient way to travel in South Florida

By Tartans |

Took the Trirail 4 times - twice to BoyBeach, once to Delray Beach and once to West Palm Beach. Was always on time. But air conditioning seems to vary by car. Very inexpensive way to travel as opposed to renting a car and driving in high stress traffic. Overall a great way for us to travel as an Uber or car rental would be much higher. Would give it a 5 star if train cars were more updated.

Tri Rail - Great Experience!

By Brent Andres |

Had a problem with the ticket kiosk at the Miami Central station. Eric D., a Tri Rail representative handled the entire situation professionally. He was knowledgeable, understanding and resolved the issue quickly. Thank you Eric for going above and beyond for your guests who ride Tri Rail everyday.

it is!

By Jordan T |

I believe for mode of transportation this is the way towards a new era. Don't worry about traffic. just jam to the correct tunes and enjoy

Best way to go to Miami Airport

By Felipe W |

It takes 60min from miami airport to Fort Lauderdale and Pompano, great stop locations, basic service and for only 5 dollars, it is a win win.

Stolen luggage

By philipkennedy747 |

I am an airline pilot and had my luggage stolen Jan 30th on the North Bound train. Tri rail says the cameras, one at each end, were not working. The security guard was nowhere to be found. The train was busy. I placed my luggage on the bagggage rack and ir was simply stolen. I could only find a seat away from the rack. Thirty years I’ve riding Tri rail. Tri rail has been pretty indignant about the issue. I had uniform pieces inside. Many airline crew travel on the Tri rail so what better target for a possible terror attack. Please make sure you understand that security is non existent on Tri rail. Keep your belonginings insight, no matter what, at all times. Be careful and cognizant of your surroundings.

Easy

By Joseph S |

Go from mangonia park to Miami international airport for $2.50. Takes about 1:30 minutes. Ride in a truck leveled car. Seats are comfortable Plenty of room for your luggage. Stops on West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale too. Enjoy the ride

Excellent Option for Shuttle Between FLL and MIA

By TMitch84 |

We accessed Tri Rail directly from the Miami International Airport to make a connecting flight at Fort Lauderdale International Airport. We had a 4 hour window, but made it easily in 1.5 hours despite coming through customs at MIA. The TriRail area was marked well in MIA. The walk was long, but easily navigated. The trains leave every 30 minutes and ours was clean and well maintained. Stops are posted well and announcements are clear. The cost for a one way ticket was $3.65/person. What a deal!
Once we exited at FLL stop, there was a quick shuttle bus ride to the terminal. We will use this service again! There are other stops on TriRail up and down the coast. We will explore them on a return trip. Wish other cities would add this type of service for travelers.

Great way to get to travel

By nrisca |

Took it from Ft Lauderdale to Miami. It goes right into Miami airport and theres also a shuttle from the Ft Lauderdale airport to the train station. The train stops at stations at towns along the coast between Miami and Palm Springs. It was clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced with convenient times. Took it from Pompano. The train Station was clean and safe.

Easy to travel

By dslyte |

Wasn't sure about how to use the tri-rail, so I was nervous. We flew into FLL and had an Air BnB near the tri-rail. We use a Lyft to drop us off on a Thursday around 11, we had s car reserved at MIA. There is a machine to buy your tickets or someone at the ticket booth. The area to wait was clean and safe. They announce ahead of time southbound train arriving on which track. I did research about luggage racks since we were taking a cruise my husband and i both had a large suitcase and 1 carry one. We stepped on and found the luggage rack right away but kept our big luggage right next to us. They announce so you can hear what stop they are approaching. There are regular seats, some with tables. You can move between cars and they have restrooms. For $3.75 I was nervous on what to expect. Unfortunately somehow 30 mins in our train lost its connection and stalled. It did it 3 times total and delayed us about 30-45 mins but when talking to others on the train it's never happened to them. Overall I'd do it everytime since southwest flies into fll amd its s cheap way to arrive literally 50 feet from the rental place at the MIA airport.

The only way to travel to MIA

By PAKCDN |

Every time we have to fly out of MIA I start worrying about the traffic on I-95. On our last flight our Captain was stuck on 95 and the flight was delayed 2 hours. Our last trip we took the tri-rail. Cheap, safe, on-time delivery right into the airport. Only way to go!

CONVENIENT FOR COMMUTERS AND TOURISTS ALIKE

By Raymond S |

If you are interested in avoiding I-95 (highway of innumerable accidents) and want to visit Miami, Ft. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach, this is a nice alternative. There are also many stops in between such as Ft. Lauderdale International Airport, Hollywood, Deerfield Beach, Boca, etc. The rail line is west of the cities mentioned so you would need to find a way from a Tri-Rail station to the downtown of these cities. Tri-Rail can answer your questions on their website. No spectacular scenery if you are into that. Mostly paralleling I-95 or industrial areas.

getting to airport.

By Howard E |

I live in Delray Beach. I use all three of the Int. airports. Using the trollies and shuttles and trirail getting to the airports is a breeze. I never take much luggage which helps. There is a free shuttle to the airport from the trirail stas in Fl Lauderdale and West Palm and the Miami Station stops at MIA. No cabs, uber, rental car or paking hassles.

Amost terrible.

By Liazard |

It works in a pinch but overall, it's poorly run. Trains may be late and/or schedules are changed without notice. Trains sometimes are dirty, restrooms almost always are. Some staff are helpful, some are not. Train crew wake you up to check tickets.

Stations seem to be rusting into the ground and seriously need paint. Often no restroom in stations.

I appled for a so-called "EASY" card senior discount online, got an email back saying it would take 48 hours. After two weeks I called and was told it would take 6 months. The explanation was the person who does it was promoted into another position.

Could be much better, but its not.

By K J |

It was on time, but it was also hot (broken AC) and filthy. Broken and unresponsive doors, no signage about the stops.

If it wasn't convenient to get to the airport, it wouldn't be worth the ride.

Unfriendly Cashier at Sample Rd/ Andrew in Pompano Beach

By August S |

Person at the office station at Andrews Ave and Sample rd in Pompano is the most unfriendly person I have met!
No customer service friendly, has an attitude, and is very rude!
It would nice to have someone that is friendly and helpful if you have questions about your travel fare and other problems regarding tri rails trains!
NOT A GOOD REPRESENTATION FOR TRI RAIL!!

An interesting way to visit Miami without parking problems

By ArtSchmall |

One day we decided to try the Tri-Rail which we see frequently, but never used. We parked at the station and bought our tickets from a vending machine. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a train, since it was a Saturday. We enjoyed the ride, and when we reached Miami we transferred to the People Mover and rode that around the downtown area. We hopped on and off several times to explore the areas we saw from the windows. We spent some time exploring Bayside, close to Biscayne Blvd, had lunch facing the ocean, and rode the People Mover back to the Tri_Rail for our trip back to Ft. Lauderdale, where we left or car.

relax your way down to Miami

It is an excellent alternative to travel between all tri-county in south Florida (Miami Dade county all the way to North Palm beach County) connectors to all international airports and downtowns in mayor cities.

Excellent Facility

By HawaiiSeaDog |

Travelled twice on this train in the last couple of weeks. From Miami Airpot to Fort Lauderdale and then Fort Lauderdale to Lake Woth and back. On both occasions the trains ran on time. We were able to get a seat on the upper level. The ride was comfortable. Excellent value.

As well as been cheap and frequent riding a double decker train is a novel experience as they don't exist in England?

EQUALITY

By Unique N |

From time to time or when there is personal vehicle problems I use tri rail.
This morning I can truly say I am disappointed that tri rail continues to hire these racist security individuals to deal with the public. This morning at the hollywood station I had to run to catch the train and not able to purchase a ticket because the app showed one time
and to me the train was unexpectedly early, I am use to catching the train tafter the P600. Tried explaining this to the security officer and also said to him check with the Conductor who I believed could not miss us running to not miss the train. The security felt it necessary to take my picture to show the Conductor and then brought the Conductor along back to me for the Conductor to give his little speech along with hard copy schedule. Everyone knows unfortuately there is a buddy, buddy system among employees everywhere. These are public servants and THIS could have been handle better. Mr Conductor just for you to know, this security officer at no time check for ticket or card from the Latin gentleman sleeping directly accross from us and although the ticket number 583327 was a warning this security behavior signals he has past racist complaints/complaints on equality as I quote again A PUBIC SERVANT, who felt the need to bring black Conductor after taking a picture of black female passenger. Do you need a Customer Service Manager on the tri rail trains now?

Good clean Public Tranportation

If you want to go from Lauderdal to West Palm or Miami the Tri rail is the way to go. Went on a weekend and I got the $5 weekend all day pass. Well worth it. If you don't have a car and want to go elsewhere....check out the Tri rail

Train kiosks only take cash on weekends! Otherwise, fine, slow local train to MIA. Good luggage racks on the rear of each car.

Time to buy some new equipment

By david kinder |

Just my opinion, I think they need to upgrade their equipment. I don’t take the train all the time but when I do it just seems like the train I get on is very old and the AC is not working.

Great weekend activity

By LindasDoral |

Kids under 5 free. Weekend day pass $5. Go from Miami Airport to West Palm or in between. Relaxing (free wifi, some trains with charging stations) If going to West Palm you can get off train and walk about 1/2 - 1 mile to City place for restaurants and shopping. Fun family event.

Better than sitting in I95 traffic when going to the airport

By LeeTes |

We've used Tri-Rail several times to go to both the Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports over the past few years from Lake Worth. It beats sitting on I95 during rush hour or when there are accidents. The train goes directly to the Miami airport, so it's very convenient.

There's a free shuttle for the Fort Lauderdale airport. The shuttle takes around 10 minutes to get to the airport but closer to 15-20 minutes going from the airport to the train station. We were very disappointed last week with the shuttle service. We picked up our daughter and grandson at the airport, but then waited around 45 minutes for the shuttle at Terminal 1. Although we were first in line, there was a mad rush past us to get into the shuttle - we had 2 big suitcases, a carry-on, the stroller, car seat and the baby and it was difficult with 3 adults. By the time we got to Terminal 3, the shuttle was packed and the driver made anyone standing get off and wait for the next shuttle. The shuttle bus is also extremely cold, so take a jacket or a sweater! In the future, I'll book flights from MIA rather than FLL just to avoid the shuttle bus.

To purchase a ticket for my daughter (since we already had our round trip tickets), I had to wait in line at the kiosk. There were automated machines available but one took exact change and the other took credit cards only. I had tried 3 different credit cards at the Lake Worth station and none worked, so I had to use cash. Someone else waiting in line at Fort Lauderdale said that his credit cards didn't work either.

The train offers free wi-fi and has washrooms. Make sure you keep your ticket. Someone comes around asking for tickets, but on a random basis. The fares are reasonable and if I had the time and inclination to go to specific stations with ID, I'd be able to qualify for their senior fare which is an even better deal.

Beat the hassles of driving

By Gilbert W |

I have traveled into FortLauderdale and ride the train to Palm bch often. Driving to airport is not worth it with traffic hassels and then parking cost .I can ride the train for 6.00 and cant even pay fuel for any car to drop me off for that . Concider the Tri rail train anytime you fly out of FLL.

Bad to worse

By Bob G |

I ride the train Monday to Friday for work. The train has not been on time in the past 3 months. There are always multiple equipment failures and canceled trains. They added express trains three months ago. That took engines and train cars out of normal rotation so they can no longer properly maintain the trains. For those who have to ride it a tip about air conditioning. Although it there is always a car or two without ac, there is usually one car with working ac so it pays to try each car.

Most ugliest train in the world

Discusting. Always late. Poor schedule.
Dirty. Slow. Needs to be put away. Bad service. Annoying ...

Junk outfit

By Greg D |

Absolute garbage government run organization. No one cares, machines don’t work, unreliable and totally worthless. Should be shut down. Can’t believe this organization took (stole) money from the US government to the tune of over 400 million to improve the system and they did nothing, zero nada. Don’t use them! You will most definitely be late and it will be a miserable experience.

Useful and comfortable

This is a great option if you don't feel like driving.
It goes from MIA Airport all the way to West Palm Beach. It offers free WiFi and the signal is really good.
I enjoyed nice views and the train was clean.
The seats are good and it's spacious.

Great way to save some gas and time.

Avoid Tri-Rail in South Florida!

Avoid Tri-Rail at all costs. Horrible customer service, delayed trains and useless, confusing app. Take Uber or Lyft instead.

Tri-Rail

Tri-Rail is located minutes from Hotel, its inexpensive, easy to park and ride, comfortable. Gets you to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale.

Ugh!

By Robert S |

Tri-Rail is a scheduled rail service between West Palm Beach and the Miami Airport. I have attempted to use it twice to avoid the jammed freeway to get to the Miami Airport. Both times, I allowed plenty of time, and it is a good thing I did. On both occasions, trains were 45 minutes to an hour late. They do make announcements through a public address system, but you cannot understand a single word. I would gladly put up with the traffic, and that is saying a lot.

Great way to travel!!!

By Mary R |

Was trying to figure how to get from Miami Shores to Boca Raton at a rate less than a plane trip (which is what ride sharing and car rental cost). A friend suggested the train, so I checked on it online. It cost me $5.00 to travel from the Golden Glades Station to the station in Boca and back again. The train was clean, uncrowded, and safe. I highly recommend the Tri-Rail for affordable intercity transportation on the southwest coast of Florida. I will certainly use it next time I am in town.

Good transportation option

By craig c |

I missed my flight at PBI and did not want to wait 8 hours until my next opportunity to catch a flight. There was one that i could catch in about 3 hours from FLL to home. I caught the bus from the airport to the train station outside on the lower level and it was a 10 minute ride to the train station. i bought my pass and waiting about 15 minutes for the train, carried my baggage on and sat on the upper level as it was a better view. It is about an hour ride on the train between airports. At Fort Lauderdale there was a bus waiting to take me and the other on about a 10 minute drive to FLL and get me home earlier than waiting in West Palm.

Train was clean, staff was professional. Good time.

Convenient

A scenic and convenient way to travel from West Palm Beach and Miami or anywhere in between. With airport stops and/or connections, getting from West Palm Beach to Ft Lauderdale was simple and cost effective.

Pretty Reliable Transportation

By Pamela H |

Even with Brightline coming, this is still a pretty reliable way to go. And the bus is coordinated with the train. Through bad weather and the worst traffic, this is the best way to and from airports and cities.

Train and airport shuttle service

By Silvia H |

I read through the reviews, and I guess the train was clean and efficient at its inception. It's circled the drian since then...

I am happy I don't have to drive to work. I start at the Mangonia station and end at FLL. Most of the security and conductors are friendly. However, trains are old and dirty. Customer service help line staff are "crude" (careless and rude). Bus/shuttle transport early mornings from airport to station is often late or nonexistent. First bus on Sunday should have been 0540 in terminal 4. It did not show up until approximately 0630 causing me to miss the 0557 northbound train.

The Tri-Rail mobile App schedule finder bumps you out of the app.

Even though I have these complaints, I am happy not to drive the distance and I am grateful for those few people that are pleasant.

And then they wonder why nobody rides

By Lisandro C |

First time trying it out to get to class in Boca and the train was canceled due to “mechanical issues”. The next train was scheduled to arrive in 45 min but it was also delayed 20min and I missed my class, despite leaving extra early. When inquired, customer service was rude and insisted my roundtrip ticket wasn’t refundable. Don’t waste your time/money with this.

Quickest way to get to and from airports

By Ann4170 |

Instead of trying to park at the very busy Ft Lauderdale and Miami airports to pick someone up, there is a shuttle from the Ft Lauderdale airport and train goes directly to Miami airport.

Great public transportation

Tri rail is a great way to get around.the staff is freindly and with congestion on Floridas I 95 its a time saver and a much safer eay to travel.

Don't leave anything on the train

By Lori561738 |

My 12 yr old nephew left his expensive Canon camera on the P609 on 7/30 terminating in Miami. The entire process of filing a claim and the manner in which they handle claims for high value items is unacceptable. They have no compassion whatsoever for the customer and they leave them in the lurch for days, if not weeks. This particular train was taken out of service and sent to the yard and I'm confident that camera went with it. The agent I filed the claim with could have called to the yard to see if that camera was where I said it would be but she wouldn't. They collect items in a bin somewhere and when it's "full" they send it up to the Pompano office for processing, could take days. This includes wallets, purses, cameras, everything. Sorry, that's just not acceptable, high value items should attempted to be located immediately. Just know the odds of getting something back are very slim. This has def left a soure taste with me.

Hialeah Market Station has serious problems

By Minnie R |

There are several problems with the Hialeah Market station. First, the sun shines directly on the screens of the ticket purchasing machines so you can barely see what you're doing on the screen. To top it off there's graffiti on the screen. It's impossible to pay with a credit card because the system is faulty. There is no shade anywhere so you have to wait for the train in the sun in this extremely hot Florida weather. I don't know why someone didn't have the idea of installing awnings in both the machine area and above the benches where the customers sit. This was definetly not well thought out. Hopefully these issues will be fixed soon.

Tri rail service

By johnp0987 |

This is capable of being a practical way to avoid driving on dangerous and congested I 95. However, it is very dirty. Bathrooms are unfortunately usually repulsive. Announcements are needlessly far too loud and obnoxious. Could easily be improved. Otherwise reliable enough.

Tri-Rail is an excellent way to get from Ft Lauderdale to Miami Airport.

By Ronald L |

We returned to Port Everglades from a cruise and needed to get to Miami Airport for our flight. In front of the cruise terminals there are ride shares and taxis. We took Uber to the Tri-Rail station in Ft Lauderdale. You can purchase your ticket from a machine on the rail platform for $5 one-way. We did not have to wait long for the train and it took about an hour to get to Miami Airport where we boarded the Sky Train to our terminal. Simple, easy, and inexpensive.

Fun for young kids

By butchproffitt |

This is something you must try if you have younger kids .Don't expect to arrive at a station and leave in 2 minutes, plan for a trip. Visit nearby communities and make it a round trip. ( don't make the trip too long, as all you want to do is see the sites along the way.) Kids get really excited ,just don't over do it.

Great experience on Tri Rail

By alicesaratella |

Took the train from FLL to MIA for a cruise recently. Flew to FLL a day early and transfer to MIA would have been over $100 for our party of 3. The train was $11.55 for a pleasant and relaxed ride on a clean beautiful train. Would definitely use this train again

Easy and relaxing

By Karen D |

In traveling to Miami Airport or downtown, the Tri-Rail and Metrorail make the trip comfortable and not frustrating in dealing with traffic.

Racism

By Six L |

So I got on at the Hialeah station the card reading machine was not working and I was going to miss the train. I explained the situation and I told him I have the money is there anyway I can pay the 5.00$. he wrote me a warning........ Wtf as if it was my fault. He was white male and I am a black male but the same thing happen to the airport station and he didn't write the riders up...... So yea.

Convenient, clean and easy to navigate

By Olga |

From Miami airport to Pompano Beach took less that an hour to travel. The station was easy to get to and it was a stress free ride. Check the website for schedules and fees - definitely recommend to save money.

Racism

By PATRICK C |

Racism! I as a black male on train 605 today, full, asked this pilot to remove his personal items off the seat so I can sit, he refused! He was a white nale, now comes the employee off the broken 603 train who is also white and yelling at me saying for me to go looking for another seat.

Their equipment, lax maintenance

By david kinder |

I realize they want people to use mass transit, but riding on the train without adequate air conditioning makes for a very uncomfortable ride. The temperature yesterday was 97° and even warmer than that inside the train. The hour long trip I think I lost 10 pounds

Experience it.

By butchproffitt |

Nice experience. Fun time with kids. They loved it. Plan your day trip to nearby areas, shop, eat, enjoy a carefree day.

Great infrastructure but miserable service

By Bustravel88 |

You can try Tri-Rail, it should be in theory the most effective and the logical best solution compared to riding a taxi, a Uber or a shuttle. However, the management of this transportation system is substandard and a shame for Florida. First of all, make sure you are not in a rush if you decide to ride Tri-Rail. I run it between FLL and MIA.

1. Check the timetable well in advance since you may have only ONE train per hour between 08:00 to 15:00 on the weekdays (and a straight one / hour during the weekends and holidays) !

2. The free shuttle between FLL station and the train station delivers a poor and unreliable service 2 times an hour. The distance between the airport and the station is very short but even when there is no traffic (alternatively you can pay a taxi for USD 15 or a Uber), you can be sure that the shuttle bus driver don't bother connecting you to the train on time - the result is that if you miss the train, you can end up waiting for another hour. My direct experience is that it seems he almost did it on purpose, slowing down and stopping for no reason. Then be prepared to wait under the sun for another hour in the middle of nowhere.

3. The ticket vending machine offers 2 options 1/ buy a regular one time paper ticket or 2/ buy the Easy card for another USD 2. Chose the paper ticket, the so called Easy card option is misleading since it is not really helpful if you need to ride Metrorail only a couple of times, just a waste of money. The small automatic train in downtown Miami is free with a good frequence, which is really fantastic.

4. The Easy card is NON refundable and does not allow direct connection between Tri-Rail and Metrorail unless you reload money again in the card at the Metrorail station. Metrorail and Tri-Rail are not integrated which is a shame. And you don't need a card for the downtown Miamimover (free).

5. The Tri-Rail train is slow (could be much faster, just like what you have in Tokyo !). On the good side the train is clean and reasonably comfortable with AC. May be the train driver [ supposedly funny ] announcements will help forgetting the difficulty of riding this service.

6. Don't bother going to Tri-Rail customer service (Metrorail service is much nicer and polite), they look at the people lining up without doing anything, they are almost rude, they know less than the vending machines and all they can they do is send you to different directions before telling you the card is not refundable (must be their way to make fun of you) !

7. It is quite interesting that there is nowhere a chance to leave a feedback on their miserable service !

This is a perfect example of a great and cheap transportation infrastructure with 1/ a very poorly managed transportation system and 2/ a very badly trained service staff. Much room for improvement compared to can be seen in other countries. Many people are complaining and telling each other this service is a joke and a shame.

Terrible transportation

By Taniere |

The times are never adhered too. It's very annoying trying to use the tri rail with the FLL airport
The guide says bus is to come at 1:25 it left before 1:25. Fine. Next one says 1:30 and it's now 1:56 and no bus has appeared. It's hot as all get out. If the service isn't going to work why have it?!

Also, you can park overnight in some stations and not others. The entire experience is inconvenience, a pain in the ass, and not worth it's use.

BEST WAY TO THE AIRPORTS

By Boca R |

From Boca Raton, FL (this is the busiest station for Tri-Rail) when we travel, rather than the hassle of driving to the airports, parking, etc....or taking expensive taxis, we found that TRI-RAIL works just fine for less than $6. to either PBI, FLL or MIA.
Tri-Rail ends at the MIA airport, so no shuttle needed. To PBI or FLL there is always a shuttle bus waiting to whisk you off to the airport as soon as the train arrives.
Plenty of room for your luggage (we always take the last car)... try it, you will like it.

Miami Airport to Fort Lauderdale Airport

By HawaiiSeaDog |

This is a very convenient and speedy way to get from one airport to the other. A bus picks you up at the station and takes you direct to terminal buildings for onward flights.

Customer service needs improvement

By Glen C |

Decent train service. However, be aware that if you load your EASY card and then leave the state for good, job transfer, etc., then your account balance is not refundable. No exceptions. The only option is to transfer your account balance to a friend or family member that also has an EASY card. Customer service could be better as they like to put you on hold and bounce you around from agent to agent.

Good option to go to the airport

By Adry12341 |

I use the service because I can park for free at Cypress Creek Station and have a tranquil trip to the Miami airport.
Important, never forget your headphones and enough battery on your devices so you can keep calm even if you have noisy neighbors.

Tri-rail review

By wptchaser |

It's a cheap and fast way to get around north and south directions on the east side of Florida. When my daughter was younger she loved trains so it was like an amusement park ride to her.

Awful!

By Vitek D |

Terrible. Delayed for more than 50 minutes waiting on a central shuttle so we could pick up their passengers. It is slow anyway (1h40 minutes from MIA to WPB) and this was ridiculous.

Unreliable but cheap

By Michael W |

I am a frequent user of this line, travelling south to Miami Airport and north back home, but there always seems to be a problem which causes the train not to run on time or be delayed after you have boarded. the last disaster was to catch the last train from the airport travelling north for it to break down stranding the large number of travellers, many obviously going home from work. It took an hour to arrange a rescue train and I was assured by regulars that this was not an infrequent problem. On the other hand the fares are cheap ~$5 for 25 miles but so frustrating

On time, reasonably priced, avoid the traffic!

By Michael A |

Not bad at all. I'm impressed. This is an easy way to get to the miami airport (a less easy way to het to laudetdale airport), and downtown Miami. When the links are completed so it's an easy transfer to the monorail, and the brightline, then we'll have a good and efficient way to travel caress in south Florida. Still a way to go, but this is a huge step forward. A great urban community has rapid, linked, predictable and efficient transit.
We're on our way....lets keep.it going!!

Cheap and easy

By GLADIATOR1234 |

Very cheap way to move on florida. Arround 5usd per hour. Train is on time not like in France ahahah. many station. Free wifi on train but not on station. They check ticket on each train so don't forget to buy your ticket before to go on the train. On each train they have 1 or 2 police officer with gun. On each train station they have security man.
Because it is cheap way to move you can see very poor people inside. Look drug addicted or homeless. So be seated near police officer.
Train smell bad and toilet look very old.
But cheap and fast....

Excellent Value and Dependable Service!

By John R |

The TRI-RAIL system between just north of West Palm Beach to the Miami airport is an great way to get around S. Florida.

Pricing deals are very good: Eg. a 1-day unlimited pass on weekends for $5/day! So you could go to Miami for lunch from Lake Worth (where we are) and then go north to West Palm for another afternoon adventure before heading home.

Pricing during weekdays is also not too shabby at around $12 to travel the full length of the line but weekends are great and fewer crowd problems.

The GOAT For South Florida Commuting and Tourist Travel—But Add More Frequencies!

By The Autistic Traveler |

I absolutely love taking the Tri-Rail when I arrive in Spirit Airlines central (FLL) and need to make it to American Airlines central (MIA) for a cheap legacy flight to the Caribbean or Latin America. I used the train service for the third time in March 2022, and I don’t plan to stop. My airline travel routine here needs an affordable, efficient inter-airport transfer system, and Tri-Rail is it. Let’s face it: the only other way to access either airport is to take a hugely expensive taxi, and I wanna avoid that as much as possible. Tri-Rail is incredible in that it achieves the same as a taxi, only at a 95% discount!

The stations are well-marked and accessible via public shuttle buses (specifically from FLL terminals to the Tri-Rail station via a regular shuttle operated by the rail company itself). One doesn’t need to be restricted between airports alone, as many other stops serve places like Hollywood, Hialeah, Opa-Locka, and more—all great tourist destinations unto themselves! But for airport commuters like myself, I can hop on in FLL and arrive at MIA in about 45 minutes. The facilities are clean and safe, the people are friendly, and for wheelchair-bound travelers, ramps are always available to accommodate mobility devices onto the train from an elevated platform at each station.

It’s totally worth it to use Tri-Rail when in South Florida. Take my word for it! Now the only thing to improve: add more frequencies after 10pm for those with flights arriving late. Then the service will be perfect. Thank you!

Occasionally i have to go to the VA Hospital in Miami and NO WAY will i drive in Miami. The drivers are crazy. Give me the Tri Rail every time. It lets me off just a half block past the VA Hospital and i can very easily walk that far. The ride is very comfortable and the person who announces the stations is always correct and loud enough to hear and understand. There was only one time that i couldn't hear the announcer, but it wasn't his fault. There was a family with very loud children. Only one time was a young woman announcer temperamental with me. She told a rider he couldn't play his radio even with earphones and she looked at me and asked me if i had a problem with that. I just looked away from her and i never saw her again. She probably got fired for her attitude. The actual ride is terrific. Very scenic if you sit on the upper level. I highly recommend The Tri Rail over driving.

Ticket kiosks will not take credit cards

By Ann Christin K |

I’ve been taking Trirail on numerous occasions over the years. Again and again the ticket kiosks will not accept my credit cards. We were six people in line this morning and everyone had the same problem. On try number 12 I finally succeeded. Totally ridiculous. Let people buy tickets on line or directly on the train. I don’t want to get written up for not having a ticket, but when you try and try and the kiosks won’t work. Very frustrating. It’s 2020. Maybe time to update....

Good, reliable transportation north and south along I-95

By luron |

Trains are safe, and generally clean. Trirail is good reliable transportation along the I-95 corridor from West Palm to Miami. Other than the metrorail station, where it hooks up to the metrorail, or the little trirail buses that go to a few specific places, it is difficult to go anywhere else that is not within walking distance of the train station. Cost is ok, they determine it by "zones", but it's practically impossible to get a discounted fare for seniors, children or the disabled. To do so you have to go to their office in Pompano Beach and bring "proof", call ahead to find out exactly what they want. You'd think that if you are a child, under 18, or under 16 or whatever age they determine to be a child, you could just buy a discounted ticket. If you're over a certain age and have your ID, you should be able to get that discount, if disabled, you should be able to get that discount without having to go in with documentation to prove it. Alas, you must do so in advance, or you don't qualify for a discounted rate.

And "they" wonder why we aren't al jumping on the train...

Never on time. 1800's train

Flew into ft Lauderdale and took Tri Rail bus to train station- wait 30 mins for bus. Get to station and ticket machine doesn’t take credit cards- requires CASH- are you kidding me? Poor lady in front of me didn’t have the $5.75 needed. Then only one direction on a single track at a time - and train was 20 mins late - then sat at next station for southbound train to pass so we could use the track- another 20 mins. Is someone watching this mess. If commuters can’t rely on mass transit- wow. Should have Ubered

Useless Train for Commuters to Tri-Rail Transfer to Downtown Miami.

By Drew H |

A Commuter to downtown Miami's worst nightmare. Trains are always late, tracks change s without notice, horrible customer service and conductors. Trains smell like pot and are unkept. Escalators always out of order. Tap machines broken. And yet they want to expand into downtown Miami to compete in the working business class. Until they restructure the entire Administration and rest of their failed staff, it's useless unless you're going to the Miami airport.

Unreliable and disgusting lavatories

By Silvia H |

First, the trains are disgusting. Second, website is horrible. Third, customer service on the phone is rude Fourth, the commuter connectors do not adhere to the schedule. Fifth, trains aren’t always in time. Unreliable. Sad because there’s potential!!

Excellent Cheap transportation from Miami International to Fort Lauderdale Airport

By Malkavian99 |

After our cruise we had to get back to Ft Lauderdale airport from the cruise port. Car services, Uber, Lyft, taxi, etc would have run us $60-$75 depending on size that we needed. We ended up taking a car service from the port to the Tri-Rail station at the Miami Airport and took the Tri-Rail to Fort Lauderdale airport for $5.00. Yes you have lug your own luggage and the time is about 45 minutes, but for the price and if you are not in a hurry, take the train. There is a shuttle from the train station to the Fort Lauderdale airport or you can take a car service for under $15 for an UberXL. We had 5 people.
