We visited for our fist time. Was a little crowded but found parking and place to sit. Had pretzel and beer this time. Enjoyed both plus nice atmosphere. We will beback

We are here about once a month. My husband is a beer connoisseur. I go for the food! Their menu is out of this world with all sorts of interesting combos and flavors and everything is local!!! I’m trying to eat everything on the menu but the menu is constantly changing so it’s a battle I. Am willing to lose It gets more popular all the time and they are going to have to expand again pretty soon.

My wife and I did the guided tour on a Saturday afternoon. We reserved our spot a few days ahead of time. We were glad we did so as the tours that day were completely booked up by the time we arrived. We also recommend arriving at least a few minutes before the tour time so that you have time to enjoy the "welcome beer" described below. The cost was $5 per person and it was an excellent value. Our tour guide, Brian, met us at the check-in area, collected our admission fee, and gave us a quick explanation of the tour. It would take about 45 minutes, climb a few flights of stairs, and go through some temperature variation. We needed to wear closed toe shoes and Brian provided everyone with safety goggles for the tour. He then gave us a welcome beer to sip before the tour and invited us to walk around or get a bite to eat. I believe Nimble Giant, Dream Weaver, and Solid Sender were the choices available for the welcome beer.
The tour commenced in the art gallery. Troegs has a Troegs-themed art competition every year and the winning entries are displayed in a one-room gallery. Because no food or drink is allowed on the tour, that was the "last call" to finish the welcome beer or any food from the snack bar. Brian gave us a short history of the brewery while the guests finished their beer and snacks.
We then were escorted to view the room where the malt is milled, the chilly repository for hops, the big mash turns, the cooling tanks, the fermenters, the bottling/canning/kegging room, and the "hop gun" used for dry-hopping, and some other sections I am forgetting. We were invited to hold hop flowers, sniff hop mallets, hold and taste malt, and even taste some "green" beer before the fermentation was finished. It was a very comprehensive experience.
Brian was both extremely knowledgeable about beer and entertaining with his dry sense of humor. He is a beer enthusiast who clearly enjoys his work. He talked extensively about Troegs' different beers, how they are produced, when they are available, and which of those he particularly liked. He stopped repeatedly to answer questions from the guests. At the end, we got to taste yet another beer, this time Jovial, Troegs Belgian dubbel. And we received a parting gift of a Troegs shaker pint glass.
I would do this tour again in a heartbeat.

Guided tour was a great deal. You got a pint glass souvenir and lots of samples. E cellent food and variety of beers.

I enjoy breweries and I think troegs is a top place. large indoor area with plenty of seating, both inside and outside. large bar area with a self guided tour if you want to know a bit about the place or the process. good store with plenty of merchandise as well as take home 4 or 6 packs that you can mix or match.
ran about 20 taps.....some the norms (10 maybe?), with 4 seasonal and the. a bunch of odd batch or short batch items that they are trying out. I love a good selection with some items you can't get anywhere else and troegs delivers. they do samples, flights, pints, crowlers and growlers so lots to choose from.
I like all of their beer... I'm more of an ipa person but didn't find alot that I didn't like. did not get a chance to test the bartenders knowledge much but the person I talked to seemed knowledgeable.
did not try much food but they seem to have a good selectuon of fun, intwresting food and if its like the beer, im sure its good. I feel it's a go to place and when I'm in Hershey, I go!

I loved it here! There is lots of seating with a central serving area for food and beer. So many choices of Troegs beer! The food is fantastic! I recommend getting the pretzel, served warm and with two crazy good dipping sauces. Their sandwiches are super tasty and the portions are perfect for lunch or dinner! I really enjoyed my experience here and cannot wait to go back.

We had out of town guests and so we booked the 45 minute tour. Vernon our guide was excellent. We moved through the history and beer making process and sampling too! He was entertaining and informative. The menu was so inviting we decided to eat as well. Our recommendations are: the popcorn, the grilled cheese, and the brisket sandwiches. Don’t forget the beer! The gift shop had a bit for all of us. We left very pleased!

We loved the beer here. My personal preference being the Dream Weaver! Also, excellent dining experience. The menu is like fine dining!!

Business colleague and I ate dinner here. Best part of the meal was the beer. Pulled chicken sandwich was cold, ciabatta bread was so stale you couldn't cut it with a knife. Even the fries were only lukewarm. Won't waste my time here with so many better choices in Hershey.

Just moved to Hershey a few months back. Have driven by this place many times - just down the street from Hershey Park - but never had a chance to check it out until today. Went with my wife, her sister and husband who were in visiting us and we had a really good time. Eating area is massive, they have a brewery tour, gift shop, outdoor seating and while I am not a beer person they have tons of options to suit every taste. Staff is really helpful in finding out what you like and then making recommendations. Your server can bring you your drink order or you can go to the bar yourself. For the food order, your place it at their counter and then they buzz you to come up for it. I had the brisket sandwich and we ordered the pretzel with dipping sauces and it's huge. My sis in law had the kielbasa and my brother in law also had the brisket sandwich. Food was excellent. We weren't rushed out and hung out for about 2 hours. Will definitely be back.

Interesting foods that of course go well with their fine beer. We do not go for the IPA which seems to be everywhere. Amber for him & dark for me. Now that nitro chocolate is so smooth & makes me cry that I cannot tKe it home! Jovial was a step down in smoothness, but really good as well. That block is excellent. Very friendly atmosphere & the pretzel was different with the extra hops, but very tasty! Loved the store as well. Very friendly staff & a non intrusive atmosphere where you can relax with friends & meet other fellow travelers. This is a must for those that do not prefer all of that wine.

We have never visited a Brewery, and thought that it would be interesting to do so, so off we went. The building is beautiful from the outside, and you can see it from Hershey Park Drive. The sign is rather small, and we almost missed the turn unto the property.
We like self guided tours as then we can linger where we want, and breeze through what we don’t want. Here, every step of the tour was interesting, as it was all new to us. Right in the middle of the tour is a restaurant, where you can taste beers, drink beers, and eat snacks and meals. Surprisingly, the menu was quite innovative, and we had to agree to a choice to share, as we were going to our daughters’ for dinner, and did not want to be full.
Ordering is done at a counter, and you get one of those beepers, which lets you know when to come back to pick up your meal, We shared a Troegswurst on a roll, and one of their beers (IPA). Did not have high expectations for the food, but it really was delicious. Would very happily go back for more. We sat outside, and just as we were ready to leave, it began sprinkling.
We went into the “General Store”, where they sell their beer, plus souvenirs with their logo. Prices seemed reasonable, and everything was nicely displayed.

Troegs is one of my favorite craft breweries. I was in Hershey for a Phish show this summer. Troegs was a huge bonus to the trip. They have a great facility here with a huge indoor and outdoor space to enjoy.

A colleague and I were visiting Hershey on business, and after pulling 12 hour days at the convention, every night we were ready to let our hair down and absorb the culture and flavors of the locals. Even from the parking lot viewing the amazing outer and just visible inner décor, I knew my co-worker and I would be in for a treat at Troegs. The extravagant beer menu and smaller but delectable food menu were both filled with amazing items that made choosing a challenge. If both my stomach and wallet were larger, I could have stayed there all night, wanting to try everything. We ordered the beer flights for a good sampling. My favorite ended up being the Dreamweaver, (which I later that week found more to bring back to my hotel room!) For dinner I ordered the tomato tart and salad. I am a pretty quick eater but ate so slowly because it was so amazing I didn't want it to disappear! My co-worker and I were quite sleep deprived on this trip, so after a good meal and a few strong stouts, the night ended in laughter and ridiculous amounts of selfie-taking in this awesome environment!
It's top notch, memorable facilities like this that really make work travel feel more like a vacation.

After my recent visit, I felt like the noise is finally getting better. I'm naturally an anxious person, and for years I had to get a couple drinks in me to start relaxing here. Over the years they've only improved on the food, drinks, and service, but the noise kept me from giving 5 stars. I don't know what it was, because it was a packed house as always, but the noise level was much better. Golden Thing is a great addition to the tap list, and no matter what you get to eat, you'll be happy. Don't bother with Iron Hill. You'll get the experience you want here. And don't just sit! Wander around, and see what there is to check out here! They've done a great job of expanding!

I loved the fun/hip atmosphere of this brewery. It is definitely unique! I will say however, that the prices of the beer and especially the food were too high. I paid $12 for a 5 brew flight and $15 for a pulled pork burrito. Both were decent - however for minimal service (counter style ordering) I couldn't justify spending so much.
I would recommend adding/making an area where those who want to sit down and be served can choose that option.

We haven't been to Troegs in a couple of years. When we decided to go I was worried that it would not live up to what I remembered....It was better. They added a new loft like area upstairs with additional seating. It was great to be able to look out over the main tasting room and even though it was still pretty crowded, we were able to find seating. The addition of the upstairs meant a second menu. Unfortunately, they were out of dough so no pizza. Next time. We loved the popcorn and the pretzel. The staff are really helpful and friendly. The beer is delicious as always. I love the store and made sure to bring home some to share with friends after our trip to Hershey.

While visiting Hershey decided to tour the Troegs brewery (made reservation online prior to visit). My husband is into craft beer, so he was really interested in the production tour, which included some tastings...I must say that I also enjoyed. We had a terrific guide and it was really informative. After the tour we went to the restaurant/bar for lunch...the food was amazing...excellent quality and great selection, and the bread was unbelievable. Add to that a wide selection of Troegs beer on-tap and we were delighted. Only wish this place was closer to home

Go for the beer not the food. Limited menu, somewhat cafeteria set up. Was not impressed for the price. The beer was good though.

We were very impressed with the menu. Menu items were really creative like the beet cured salmon or the seared octopus soft taco! We had a hard time choosing what we wanted, there were so many interesting things. We ended up with the hand cut chips with creme fraiche and fish roe and the house cured charcuterie plate. The charcuterie was excellent and the chips were a lot of fun. Great presentation on both. The brewery is big and visually very impressive and they have a very well laid out self tour. Their new barrel aging room was not yet open when we visited but looked as if it would be ready soon and looks fantastic. Our favorite beer was The Nimble Giant, a must try! Definetely a 'must go' brewery if you are in the Hershey area and worth a day trip if nearby.

...and if that weren’t enough, the place is ridiculously overpriced as well.
I’m struggling to find anything positive about this place after our family experience there. Maybe the best I can say is that everybody in the place cheers each time a waiter drops a glass and shatters it. The environment is lighthearted and fun that way, but overall this was an abysmal and expensive mistake for our family dinner.
The grilled cheese is more like a $12 bread sandwich that didn’t even come with fries or chips. The strawberry salad was practically inedible. And the only other appetizing options happened to be on the kids’ menu, so they were off-limits for us. Many, many better choices in Hershey.
PS The beer in this place—their supposed specialty—tastes like dirt. If you like that, go for it. If not, go someplace else.

We have visited Troegs three times in the last 4 months. Each one of our visits has been very good and we really enjoy visiting this brewery.
To start, the beer is excellent and we thoroughly enjoy the different releases throughout the year. Troegs offers many different varieties of beer - IPAs, DIPAs, Stouts, Ales, Tart Ales, to name a few...Order a draft flight to sample four of their draft beers...
We also enjoy the food, we usually start with the Oktoberfest pretzel and the Rosemary popcorn. We also have had the Sautéed Asparagus and the Charcuterie/Cheese board - both were excellent. As for dinner, the smoked brisket sandwich is outstanding. The Grilled Cheese with tomato soup is also very good.
The prices are decent and the service has been excellent all three visits. The servers will serve you your beverage selections but you need to go up the snack bar for your food items.
They have a store where you can purchase all of their beer - cans, bottles, crowlers, and growlers. And they sell some of the food items/condiments - spicy ketchup, grain mustard, etc. And you can purchase T-shirts, hats, etc.
We have visited many breweries in many states, Troegs is definitely in the top 3 we have visited - highly recommend!!!!

We stopped in here for a drink and some food. I am not the type of person that typically enjoys "brewing" type of places mostly because I am not much of a beer drinker. I loved this place! I tried a few types of beer and really liked each one. My favorite was the Raspberry tart ale. Reasonably priced. We have the Oktoberfest pretzel that came with beer cheese and mustard. Delicious! We also have the brown butter popcorn - omg was this amazing! Portions for both were huge so good for sharing with someone. We will definitely return again when we are back in the area. Cute gift shop that is worth checking out too.

We have not been here in about two years, well worth the wait. They have expanded the parking lot, which was much needed, added an upstairs bar and food with tables as well. Such a busy place, great beer choices, good food, bartenders very friendly and attentive.Tours are available as well.

We live about an hour and a half from the Hershey area and visit a few times a year. Troegs is a must do every trip for us. On our last trip we went twice in one weekend! Their beer is excellent, and it's constantly changing seasonally so there's always something new to try. I like to get a sampler or two. In addition the food is really good - like, I would come here just for the food even if they didn't have the beer. Our absolute favorite is the grilled cheese and tomato soup, but the new street corn fries were really tasty too! The only downside is that because it's so popular it's always crowded, and it's seat yourself, so you have to fight a little to get a table. Luckily when it's just two of us we can usually find a place to sit within a couple of minutes. Highly recommend!

my wife, me and 2 kids (9 & 11) were fresh off a night camping locally and a full day in hersheypark on weekend of july 16. I've been to troegs several times before and always enjoyed it but never took the time to rate it. we were all tired, hot and ready for a break before heading back to our campground. it was fairly crowded at around 4pm. we lucked into a front row parking spot (they're going to need a bigger lot). you dont get seated but basically find a spot. we we're lucky to get four seats at a large "viking dinner" style table. nice couple on one side that shared some conversation with and a friendly gent on the other side that knew all their beers and was clearly here a lot. friendly and prompt waiter. wife and i split a large floor flight of beers. all were solid to very good. several of the "scratch" series were extra fun. after that we each had a pint - i went with the Nimble Giant - a double IPA. very good and balanced for 9%. liked it alot. we had the mad elf fondue to share which was dynamit! kids shared a bavarian pretzel which was also awrsome and huge. hopsalt on it! cheese sauce w pretzel was addictive and is apparently a trade secret (i asked what was in it... other than the description on menu, i got no secrets)
self guided tour was fun. beer store was fun.
overall a great stop that re-invigorated a hot, tired bunch

We will come back to this brewery. Very good beer and well organized. Food is a little pricey, but still good.

We went as a group of almost 20 and we got there at about 6:30/7 on a Thursday. We split into 2 tables and I sat in the middle bar/stool seating. Our server came and took our drink order, you could either pay and close out then, or open a tab. I was excited to order my first flight (!), it is only $6 to choose whichever three beers you want. I heard good things about the First Cut Mango IPA so I got that, the Sunshine Pils was a safe choice for me, so I got that too, then I tried the "once a year" nugget nectar. I loved the IPA, the Pils was as expected, and the nectar wasn't my favorite...but I ending up trading for a drink from a friend (the LaGrave, champagne beer- yum). To order food, you have to go stand in the line, place your order and pay, and get a little buzzer that goes off when it's time to pick your food up right near where you pay. The brewery was a really fun atmosphere that I definitely enjoyed, and would go back if I was in the area.
That First Cut Mango IPA though! A few days after visiting the brewery I went to the local Red Robin with my dad and ordered that delicious beer. I need to find a way to get some more (living in FL)!

This is our First time visiting, and we will always return when in the area. The choices of ales, pilsners, etc are amazing; they serve various sizes for sampling or just enjoying. The food is well priced ($8-$16) and very tasty; nothing is "standard" fare. They also have a shop for apparel or (more importantly) their brews.
COVID-era social distancing and concern is very evident and well-managed by the staff.

Troeg's is one of those special craft breweries that make a beer for everyone. The food is fantastic and is a must do if you are in the area. We will be back.

When we are in Hershey we head to Troegs for breakfast. It never disappoints. Staff is attentive. We had the breakfast special of the day and a brisket sandwich. Both had very good flavor.

Hershey is best know for chocolate. However, they also have good Craft Beer!!! The Troegs Brewery, which moved just a couple of years ago from Harrisburg to Hershey has a state of the art brewery here. All kinds of Craft Beer here, but try their TROEGENATOR doublebock!! Real tasty and one of the best Craft Beers I have tasted!!

Stopped by for lunch and end up staying the entire afternoon! The tour was amazing. The lady was knowledgeable and the place is huge! It was well worth the price since for $5 you get a about 2 1/2 glasses of amazing beer throughout the tour place a suvinier glass. The food was tasty but very "Adult" menu including lots of greasy spice food that goes great with beer. I would not bring my children here although I did see many kids throughout the restaurant.

In town on business. Had some time to take the Troegs Tour. Cost was $10, and well worth it. Was greeted with a smile by my new friend Bob. After you check in...BAM, he pours you a glass of beer. Tour lasts about 45 minutes and comes with not 1, but 2 more beers. Along with a souvenir Troegs pint glass. Very informative. Do the paid tour. Book in advance online. Oh yeah, Awesome craft beer too!

Stopped by with a small group, we all loved the menu choices and the beer. Will have to head back to visit the gift shop for holiday gifts. Only downside is not enough parking due to construction. Looking forward to next visit.

There are three elements to this review:
1. The atmosphere is average. The style of seating can be rather uncomfortable if the place were very crowded especially with the long tables. The bathroom needs a drastic improvement. It has a cafeteria-style arrangement for food, but the waiter was great with respect to beer ordering.
2. The brews were rather good. The Perpetual IPA was okay. I have had better out of a bottle. The Trogenator Double Bock was very good, and I ordered a second. DreamWeaver Wheat was about average. The ABC had a better wheat beer. Sadly, I don't recall a fourth beer I had which wasn't bad. It had a fruity aftertaste if I recall. The stout with the chocolate cherry flavor (I may be wrong on that) was okay. The final beer was too much for me to remember. Overall, the beer wasn't bad.
3. This is where the place falls apart. The Oktoberfest Pretzel was very good, especially with the cheese sauce and mustard. The Charcuterie House-cured meats was a huge disappointment as was the Cheese Plate. Braised brisket on brioche, mustard slaw with house steak sauce. Dry, tasteless and very wet on the bottom. I had to use a knife and fork to eat it. I honestly can't tell you what I was eating since there was no flavor. The glazed salmon was a dry disappointment as well. A very forgettable sandwich that went half eaten. The Egg Noodles was a difficult concoction to understand. I could taste the peanut sauce but it was just meh. And now to the fries. These were "oh, what could have been." They were just about overcooked and in fact, one basket was rock solid. The fries were just uneven in their doneness.
All I can say is that the brews filled me up enough to offset the fact the food wasn't good enough to really eat. If you go here, know that you go for the beer. The Snack Bar is overpriced for the quality. If you could hit the nearby Wendy's first, then you'll be fine. I would recommend that Troegs invest in someone that can create truly nice food items and impart some flavor to the food.
Would I go back? I would for the beer, but those with me wouldn't want to go again. Sigh. If you could only improve your food this review could jump to a 4.

I usually love this place. But the food has slid downhill over the last 5 years. I ordered creme brûlée and the yolks were broken and gritty. Not to mention the flavor was like eating scrambled eggs. I was so disappointed. It will be a while before we eat here again.

The beer and food were great. The prices were very reasonable. The server was friendly. They were bottling beer when we were there, so we got to see that.

Beer was only OK for us. Nice atmosphere. Friendly people. Awesome growlers. Food looked terrific but we didn't stay to order.

We just left the bar at Troegs and had the worst experience we have ever had there. We were completely ignored by the 2 female bartenders. My husband ordered a sample of 3 beers. After sampling the beers the bartenders cleared away the empty glasses & tray but never asked him if he wanted another beer. We continued to sit there for 30 minutes without either of the 2 bartenders looking our way. They spent plenty of time chatting up other customers & waiting on new customers that walked up while we were sitting there. We had ordered food & we're trying to have a nice meal but with no drinks to complement it we quickly got frustrated. A new bartender then came on & ignored us as well even though she had just finished checking out the people sitting next to us. Having had enough at that point I flagged her down & we got the check & left. Our bill was $38 and we barely touched our food and are incredibly disappointed. We were going to fill my husbands growler but decided Troegs will not get any more of our hard earned money. I recommend a refresher on customer service to the ladies working the bar at 5:00 pm on August 2nd. A very disappointing evening. We won't be back.

I booked the guided tour as a birthday present for my husband. I recommend reserving a spot online, as these book quickly. We've toured several breweries and this was BY FAR THE BEST! The tour is limited to 10 people which makes it fun and intimate. Lasting a full hour, you'll get to see their entire operation first hand. It does cost $5 per person but you'll get a welcome beer when you arrive, two other beer tastings, and walk away with a souvenir beer glass. We didn't have time to try out the food/restaurant area but we will be back.
Overall, this is a cool stop for any craft beer lover. They have a beer for everyone's taste buds.

Amazing experience, and the first time you walk in, the place is so crowded that you will also wonder how so many people can be there! Despite this, there are many tables and chairs, and the staff is Be sure to take a Growler to go.

Had a great time . The tour of the brewery was very interesting and the food at the restaurant was very good. The beer tasting was great especially the Jovial beer also known as the brides beer.

Go for the Sampler so you can get a taste of the various brews they offer. This way you can make a choice to order a beer.
The food was good, it was a thing to do while there.

Excellent beer and the food is even better! Locally sourced and fresh. Baked and butchered on site. Great store with gifts, growlers Love this place for date night or board meetings mid week

Nice post park visit. Open, airy - good for our large group and kids. Menu is a little strange but we all found things we liked (I really enjoyed the hummus & popcorn!). Beer just tastes better right from there.

This place is a very large operating brewery on the weekdays! We did the guided tour on a Friday afternoon and we got to walk through the production floor and see the place at work. The tour is definitely worth it. It was only 5 dollars and you get a tour with of the place with a full beer to start the tour and a couple of tastes during it. I recommend reserving your tour time on their website ahead of time because they cap the tours at 10 people for an intimate experience. The place also has a large tasting room and cafeteria. There were a lot of unique beers and food on the menu. I definitely recommend this place for adults visiting Hershey!

We had a tour at 11:30 on a Sunday morning because we were in town over night. Wonderful tour! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and it was about 45 minutes, and you receive a tasting pour of a beer before the tour, we tasted a beer that's not even on the market yet during, and at the end of the tour, you receive another tasting pour of a beer. Plus a FREE Troeg's beer glass - all for $5!!
We then had a delicious lunch and some more beer at the restaurant. I love Jovial, and I'm not a beer drinker.
Then to the gift shop to buy a couple cases! Great time overall.
This was our first visit to a brewery and it didn't disappoint!

We were warmly greeted at the door; however, that was the best of the visit. We’ve sat down at the bar and have not been greeted there for more than 30 minutes. No one came by to check with us to see if we needed service. The bartender was busy chit chatting with another patron and totally ignored us. More than one employee had walked by and didn’t even asked if we needed anything. This place by far had the worst customer service of the many breweries we’ve visited in PA. The beer is ok. Stop by Iron Hill Brewery for better service and good beer is my opinion.

Excellent, and informative, tour! We had a school teacher (don't recall her name) lead our tour. Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and great people skills. When finished, make sure to stop in restaurant/bar area for food; definitely not typical bar food!

I've been here twice. The first time, food was good; the second time, not so much. They change their menu all the time, so it's hit or miss, but they do have eclectic food options. Get the sampler if you want to try different beers. Parking can be very difficult here.

FIRST - DESPITE WHAT EARLIER REVIEWS from others HAVE SAID, TROEGS IS APPARENTLY **NOT** PET FRIENDLY - PLEASE READ ON:
We selected this restaurant while traveling with our new puppy based on reviews (including other reviews here on TripAdvisor) that their outside seating was pet-friendly. We tried to call ahead to confirms but we were placed on hold for more than 10 minutes. When we arrived, we were greeted by the host who unapologetically stated that they did not allow pets. I am not sure if their policy changed from previous experience, and certainly if it did I can respect their policies.
However, the mannerism of the host (whose name was also Dean) was quite pretentious, elitist and condescending towards us, and was less than interested when we pointed out that their establishment has a pet-friendly reputation. Not only did he not apologize for the inconvenience (although we had pointed out we went out of our way to choose this establishment), he made no qualms about it that our business was not important to them.
Because of his attitude, more so than the fact we couldn't dine on an outdoor patio with our puppy, it is clear that our business isn't valued at Troegs and I will not support them in the future. The good news is we found another establishment nearby that WAS more than welcoming to us and our puppy, and I suspect that I enjoyed the dinner more than I would have at Troegs.
To Troegs Management:
1. Please don't put customers on hold for 10 minutes or longer.
2. Whether you want it or not, there is information on the internet that states you are pet-friendly. If you are not, please make this known.
3. While I do not challenge your current policy, your host should have been able to handle the misunderstanding in a much more friendly and helpful manner instead of the message that was received.
4. Get back to your humble roots. Loose the elitist attitude. I have not patients for arrogance.

We vacationed in Hershey and decided to check out the Troegs Brewing Company. First thing I noticed was how clean everything was. Checked out a few sample beers and then ordered one in a nice tall glass. Beer was cold and good. Next we ordered the pretzel. OMG it is huge! Priced a wee bit high for my liking however hubby and I split the pretzel and it came with melted cheese and a mustard sauce for dipping. I'd definitely go back there. Fun place, very good beer!

First of all, I have gone here many times. Love the beer and love the food downstairs. Problem is we went on a Friday for their pizza upstairs. Was underwhelmed. Though the crust was decent, they really need to up their game in making a great artisan pizza. It just tasted like a mediocre mall pizza. Also to try to liven it up, I asked for some Parmesan cheese and dried hot peppers. The looked at me like I had two heads. The had none, no apologies, just blank stares. Pathetic when you are serving pizza. Hopefully, Troegs is reading these reviews and they make their pizza service as good as their other food and beverages.

My husband was pretty excited to try this brewery out after hearing numerous rave reviews from chatting with local people. We were on a family trip from Ohio to Hershey. When we walked in we were created immediately by a hostess in the front explaining how it worked. That was extremely helpful (I'm not sure I've encountered that in such a relaxed setting). It made it so much easier to give us an idea of how the brewery was laid out, and how to order drinks and food. The prices may seem on the higher end... but the portions are gigantic!!!!!!!! We ordered a few things to split amongst each other.. and we had way too much food (what a great (and rare) thing to say in a family of 5!!). The service was extremely quick, and was so good! The popcorn is gigantic!! We opted for the free self guided tour since we had our children with us, it was still great!

Loved everything but the service here. Some were friendly, some weren't...everyone SHOULD have been. Maybe we arrived on an off day...SO, I still give it 5 stars. Stick with the guy staff tho...the girls seemed a bit off...

We visited on a Tuesday evening in February so it wasn't busy at all. Granted, the weather was gorgeous today and it's the week of President's day! Lots of families with kids- all ages! The wait staff, bar staff, and food staff were all super friendly. There were coloring sheets for the kids, the self-guided tour (which we could take our drinks on), outdoor seating (2 different areas), and an art exhibit upstairs! To speak to the former reviews I read about dirty tables and no service, that was not the case at all. Granted, it wasn't very busy, but there were PLENTY of staff about to help us and the entire venue was clean. They offered a water station for people who weren't drinking, milk, juice, and root beer for the kids. The food was excellent- the portions were a bit small for my husband (he had the fish), but I had the taco and the pistachio carrots and that was enough for me. The kids each ate their meals and enjoyed them (hot dog & chips, french fries).
The beer was great! We've had Troeg's before, so we knew what to expect. I like the Dreamweaver, the Wit, and the Nitro Stout. It was great!
Overall we had a great visit. I'm sure it would be crazy on a weekend because it is an awesome space! I don't know if I'd bring my kids and expect a quiet, clean, sit down meal on a Saturday afternoon... It is a brewery, after all!

Be prepared that this is a self-service place when it comes to food. Upon sitting, a “server” will take your drink order - fresh-brewed beer so that’s a plus - but for food you will need to get in line to place your order and pay in a buffet-style food line, then wait again for your food to be cooked up fresh and your buzzer to go off, then head back up to retrieve it yourself. If you’re okay with that style of restaurant, then this place is fine. The food I’d decent and plenty of it for the price, but you won’t get be waited on for food.Be advised the place is noisy when crowded.

Every employee was helpful and friendly. We looked around the store and took a self guided tour. We had the popcorn and a pretzel. The popcorn was OK, but the pretzel was killer! There was a lot to choose from. We also bought a growler to take home. The beer is great and they have free samples so you can decide what to get. Flights were $6.00 for 3 glasses.
There were a lot of kids in there which we did not understand. It was odd to us but not annoying.

Great place to visit! Fun location and amazing drinks. Server was outgoing and knowledgeable. Definitely returning!

Before the tour, we were given a free sample of beer and had time to enjoy a snack before the tour. We ended up ordering the Hop fries, they were delicious! The tour itself was informative and our tour guide Bob was happy to show us around. You can tell that he enjoys it at Troegs! We enjoyed two other beers on the tour and at the end we received a free pint glass, which was a nice surprise. We went back into the main room and ordered another beer and took a growler home of the Hop Knife IPA.

A very nice selection of beers, great menu options and friendly service.
After reading some reviews, I think we were better prepared. Entering the lower dining area, I asked what was available on the menu downstairs and outside. Staff was very helpful. You get a menu, go to the ordering station to order and pay for the food. You are given a pager for pickup of the food when its ready. There is a water/ice station to the right of the ordering station. A staff member will come to your table, inside or outside, to get your beer order. Very simple and went smoothly.
My husband's brisket sandwich was delicious and melt in your mouth tender. My salmon toast was wonderful...similar to lox and cream cheese on a bagel but entirely different.
A great store where you can buy beer by the six pack or case plus plenty of Troegs gear.

Troegs is a great stop on your way in or out of Hershey. The food is fantastic! Mainly the pretzels! The many different kinds of beers are great too. Have not been on a tour but im sure that it is great too. I think the only downfall is the lack of parking.

Troegs brewery is a fun place to eat and have a quality beer at the same time. Good quality wholesome food.

Love Troegs beer and was excited to see one in Hershey!!
We went with our young baseball team after our game. Tons of room to spread out.The line for the food was pretty long but went fast. Played musical chairs with people that kept sneaking our stools away but we got what we needed.
Went back on Memorial Day Monday and not nearly as packed. Stopped by to get some provisions for the ride home and the pair behind the bar were great. Sampled some great beers then purchased some Crowlers and limited edition bottles
The ONLY “issue” was on the food board stating the Oysters were from Chincoteague MD........ when Chincoteague Island is in VA. I attempted to inform the cashier but she looked at me like I had two heads. I’m sure she’s never heard of the island (esp being spoken) and wasn’t really sure what I was trying to explain.
After the 3rd try I smiled and said thanks for my order. 😂
Great place and nice people working there. Can’t wait to go back.

We have always loved the food at Tröegs and today was so different! Fries were greasy and overdone, the mashed bean burger was terrible especially the roll. The bratwurst’s rolls was just too
Much bread! Beer always great! Hope it was just a bad day and Tröegs hasn’t given up on being a culinary delight as well as having the best beer!

A beautiful layout and concept with an extensive menu for both food and beer selection. Friendly knowledgable and healthy staff and a fun laid back vibe. The snack bar concept is neat and the selections are unique and adventurous. I was impressed to find I liked a lot more of an eclectic variety of beer than I thought. My only wish was that all the beer sampled was available to me back home in MA. THANKS GUYS, this was the highlight of my trip!

My wife and I tour and visit breweries all across America. This was one of the best yet. Great place to enoy a few crafts beers, see the gift shop, sit outside on the patio, or grab a bite to eat. Their pretzel's were HUGE!. Every beer was delicious and the food was excellent. There is even a part where you can just watch the canning process and brewing without taking a tour. What a great facility.

My husband and I snuck away to Hershey for 2 nights for our anniversary without our small kids. We figured, short but romantic scenic road trip, a day of roller coasters, chocolate, local color and maybe some good beer at Troegs, which we were excited was located in town. Well let me tell you, everything was lovely as expected and roller coasters and chocolate are still awesome, but we fell madly in love with Troegs brewery. We can't shut up about it to anyone who has held a beer in our presence ever since. The beer: delicious, great variety, fresh. The staff: friendly, knowledgeable, excellent beards. THE FOOD? I can't even. Just go. Just go right now. There's insider tours for real beer making aficionados and a cute little self guided tour for everyone else (me). Yes, you can tour with your beer. Yes, there IS a gift shop. Yes, of course I got a tee shirt. We went both nights because when you find the awesome, you stick with the awesome. Cheers!

We visited Troegs during the weekend of October 13th. We signed up for the 45 min tour online and I will say we werent disappointed! The tour guide we had was great, he was very knowledgeable. When we were done with the tour, you actually got a really cool etched pint glass which was a nice touch to end the tour. We got 3 different tastings as well during the course of the tour! This is one place I would definately reccommend!

Used to love Troegs, but their whole system of the tables being first come first served doesn't work! While attending on a busy holiday weekend, they should have a system for waiting in line for a table. Instead, you just have to stand by a table, waiting for people to finish to be sure that you'll get a place to sit. It is draconian and demeaning. Love some of their beers, but wish they'd change up the menu a little. Though the food is usually very good. Also, should be able to sample more beers. I spent $13. on a small bottle of Impending Descent. It smelled like vinegar and tasted even worse. The people who work there are wonderful, but don't think that I'll be returning.

Met with friends for lunch at Troegs Brewery. Didn’t taste the brew but the food for lunch was quite different. Check out the menu. The food taste was excellent. Highly recommend.

Neat place to try a nice variety of craft brews. Really enjoyed the selection. The food was just ok....

We stopped by Troegs after a day at Hershey Park. It was such a fantastic experience. The food alone is worth stopping by for a visit. We ordered way too much and had to take some home. The beer, is without question, amazing. I'm so sad we don't live closer.

The craft beer selections they brew here are pretty darn good! I really like the wide open atmosphere that makes it even very nice for families that have serious craft beer lovers.
I recommend that you order the Octoberfest Pretzel - huge and very tasty! I also had the Troegswurst - a tasty braut covered in red cabbage - smoother it with their mustard and it becomes the greatest!

This is a great brewery tour! We had a small group which made it easier to enjoy, I think. The tour itself is $5 per person, with a complimentary tasting at the beginning and the end, as well as a souvenir pint glass. The tour is nicely detailed and you actually get to see all the of brewing activities in action. Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes or you may not do the tour since you do go down to the brewery floor - you even wear protective eye wear! We definitely recommend this tour if for anyone into beer or the brewing process. They have something for every beer drinker to enjoy. There is a fun gift shop at the end (if you so desire) with a variety of things to remember your visit. This is a great tour and we look forward to coming back for another round of pints! (Parking can be difficult if it is a busy day.)
Note: if you are sensitive to aromas this may not be the the tour for you. I had a very difficult time and felt a bit unwell from the strength of aromas of all the brewing activities. I had never done a brewery tour before, so maybe this is normal, but being sensitive to smell I wanted to note it for others who may have the same struggles.

We live 40 mins away and like to go as often as possible. The food is excellent. I almost always get a sampler of their beers and enjoy the majority of them. Fun place with indoor and outdoor seating .

Destination for a weekend ride. Wish I could have sampled a few more beers. Beer selection was great.

Met our son and wife here for Sunday lunch, as usual the place was hopping and as always had a good experience. Food selections are pretty diverse and the only negative was they ran out of a few items. Staff is always friendly and the beer including the always changing Scratch Series was great. Been here before so knew it gets noisy and the food ordering is kind of cafeteria style but like the atmoshere., plenty of kids during lunch and the welcome doggies out on the patio area.

We experienced Troegs Brewery tour and enjoyed lunch in their dining area. My husband got to enjoy his favorite beer, Nugget Nector. The food and service was also great. It was a very enjoyable time.

Every time I go to Hershey, I try to stop here. The food is great and the beer even better. Flights can be ordered long with pints. Great to try the new stuff that may never make it to the shelf. It gets really busy so get there when it opens and spend some time.

Wow! Visiting the Troegs Brewery in Hershey, Pennsylvania was wonderful! I can’t say enough on how great it was.

We took the tour, which comes with a complimentary beer as well as tastings along the way and your own glass at the end! Also enjoyed the food, especially the popcorn for a snack after a few drinks.

Be sure to reserve a tour of the brewery well ahead of time. They recommend arriving early... definitely do! The parking lot was full and spent time driving around. The tour costs $5 per person. It's definitely worth $5 as it includes beer samples and an exclusive pint glass. The snack bar looks interesting, but we had dining reservations elsewhere.

Overall is a very nice place had problems parking on a Saturday we just stop by for six pack or vacation Hershey and had to tell the guy directing traffic that we are only going to be there for 15 minutes and a he let us on the lot of the park very very busy on Saturday's call ahead and book tour.

This is our favorite local brewery by far...the food is amazing, wi-fi, kid friendly, and the scratch series gives plenty of variety...this is a MUST visit

I'm not really a beer drinker but some friends wanted to go here while visiting from NYC. We did the $5 tour and it was very interesting it includes a glass of wine and a few samples during the tour. The beer was tasty, some fruit flavored. And even for some one whos not a beer drinker it was tasty. The tour was fun! Interesting our tour guide Bob was awesome! Very personable! I would reccomend this for for couples or friends looking for something to do , besides the usual chocolate town attractions in Hershey!
Keep in mind must be over 21 to go on beer tour! But kids can eat at snack bar/restaurant.

Went on the tour of troegs the staff was very knowledgeable and polite the beer was incredible would definitely go again

It was a great place with great beer, but the self-guided tour needed more signage. It was a great facility with great staff but the self-guided tour needs just a bit more thought. Thank you

Came here over Thanksgiving weekend and took the tour and ate lunch there we had a great time the food and beer was great worth the time and money... I even brought my 9 and 8 year old boys there is a kids menu.

This place not only has amazing beer, but the tour of the facility was amazing! A must see! I would highly recommend this place and trying the beers they have! Hopback is amazing!

Very crowded the day we went, but we found a table and shared it with another group. The food is good albeit a little pricey. But the beer is what you are there for. Enjoyed trying seasonal beers and brewery exclusives. Had a few flights and sampled just about everything. Tours are only at certain times but there is a walking self guided tour you can take which was neat. My only complaint is the amount of kids there. Breweries are not meant for children and in my opinion they were taking up a lot of space and running about. Drop them off at Hershey, then come over for a drink.

I love this place. I think the concept is really neat and relaxed. Concession style food makes it nice and easy to order food whenever you are ready. The beer options are great, and the flights for anything on draft is a wonderful way to sample. We timed things wonderfully and got to see bottles shooting around their conveyers towards packaging. Allowing folks to walk in and just learn the process, is a unique way to tour a brewery. They have kids food and drink too, so our toddler was able to hang out and have lunch with us. The outside seating (not the Beer Garden, as that was closed at lunch time) was perfect, and there was plenty of shade for a hot August day.
Beware the size of the pretzel. It is ginormous!

After telling my brother about a brewery tour we had taken, he asked: Have you ever toured Troeg's. Good grief, how could we have missed this. We have often visited Hersheypark and it's only a couple of hours from home and we (mostly my husband) like beer. If you are an adult and find yourself in Hershey YOU MUST TAKE THE TOUR.
The guided tour is five bucks. C'mon pony up the fiver, cos you get a free glass AND you see so much as a part of a highly entertaining and educational tour. (When did you last crush a hop blossom? What is wort?) The brewery is bigger than 2 guys in a garage but smaller than megafactory and is clean and bright and quirky and smells like beer. Yes you get samples - right from the get-go the host says, you gotta have a beer before you go, we have three here on tap, which would you like? Wonderful beer! Nice people! Great tour.
One other thing - just beyond the obligatory gift shop at the end is the tasting room. Not - to - be - missed. If the samples along the way weren't enough, or if you are curious about some of the batches they're making, stop by for a glass or a sampler board for $6. I think I counted 15 taps of their perennial favorites, seasonal favorites and scratch batches. Yes, the scratch batch. When they come up with an idea they'll make a scratch batch just to see how it comes out. Sometimes meh, sometimes fabulous, sometimes an acquired taste. And, you get to try these flights of fancy yourself. I think that's awesome, it's so transparent. Maybe this will be the next big thing or else just a nice try but you sure get to try something new.
Also, in the tasting room they have FOOD - good food. My chicken breast sandwich with peppers on a pretzel roll was GREAT and my husband had a beef brisket with a tangy sauce that he LOVED. We will probably stop back for lunch next time we're in the area. It's really good. Oh, and did you know they have a smoker on site so they can smoke their own meats.
If it's a ride on the comet or a trip to Troeg's, I'm going to Troeg's!

Nice brewery with great beer, food and service. You can either order from the bar or different servers will pass by your table asking for orders.

Minutes from interstate 81. Near Hershey Park. Signed up for tour online. When we arrived earlier than expected, we enjoyed their food. Everything you can imagine. Finger food to entrees, cheeses and portions they recommend to share! We really enjoyed their Mac N Cheese with sausage and mushroom. The tour group was small and personable. We really enjoyed our guide very much. We sampled a beer before, during and at the end of the tour. The tour ended at their gift store. We were able to purchase a mixed 6 pack to take home. First class service. We had fun and their beer is awesome! We loved "Mad Elf", their "Java Head stout" and 'Dream Weaver" beer.

My husband and I hung out here waiting for my daughter at a concert at Hershey. What a great place to spend the day! Delicious beers some good bites. The pretzel is amazing! Great atmosphere. Will definitely stop back here again!!

I love Troegs so much! It’s absolutely my favorite place to visit every time I’m in town seeing my relatives. Great beer, awesome food, good atmosphere. Kid friendly.
I recommend the oysters, the duck and the poutine (not authentic but delicious).

I have visited my fair share of breweries in my day, and this was far and away the best overall experience I've ever had at one.
If you are a beer fan, you absolutely must do the tour - it is impressively comprehensive and informative, and lots of fun. And with samples in the middle and tastings at the end, of course.
Afterwards we went to the tap room for lunch, which was excellent. The prices are reasonable and the portions substantial - the massive grilled cheese with a side of rich, tangy tomato soup was incredible and is a great bargain, big enough to share. My wife enjoyed her black bean tacos. The beer options are of course excellent - all of Troegs' quality options with a few taproom-only selections to feel special.
The interior is lovely - incorporating cool artwork featuring troegs iconography (from an annual concert they sponsor). Grounds seem gorgeous, but is was alas raining heavily for our visit.
Finally, the location is genius. The food area is surprisingly kid-friendly for a alcohol-centric spot if you are doing the family vacation, or this can be a reasonable adult getaway while the kids enjoy their rides and chocolate.

Because of a time crunch, we were unable to do the guided tour AND eat. We wanted to eat there so we settled for the self-guided tour, which was very informative but short. Great display/arrangement of key pieces of the process. There is a terrific small-ish party room that can be rented and used for private tours and tastings, I believe. We peeked in the glass door and window and found the decor to be quite attractive; it reminded me of a wine cellar with the casks and decor they used. Lunch there was amazing! From unique french fries to duck, a unique menu. We wanted something small, but they don't do small portions! My daughter and I could have easily shared a meal; we ended up with lots of leftovers when we ordered two meals. I ordered a "hot dog" and received 2 brauts on a sourdough bun with ALL the fixings. The highlight of Troegs is the beer tasting they provide, 3 glasses per "serving." Great way to try the huge variety they offer. Wait staff is very knowlegable about the process and the different beers. Big room with the bar (and kegs behind it) taking up one long wall, the food served from the front wall. The rest if table, booth, and bar tops for sitting, eating and drinking. Prices not cheap but reasonable.

One of our favorite places to go when in Hershey. Besides enjoying their beer, they have excellent food. If you are not sure which beer to have just get a flight and try a few. Still not sure, ask the bartenders they are very versed on the beer. They will steer you in the right direction.

Of all the brewpubs I have visited the set-up for Troegs was the best. Open seating - table your own food and drink & waitstaff available for both. Beer (Oktoberfest style) was top notch.

We stopped at this brewery while pre wedding stay in Hershey, PA. worth visit at this Hershey brewing company.

We have been to troegs several times (every time we are in the area for a wedding) it never disappoints. The food and beer are always great. This time we decided to do the basic tour ($10) and what a value. You get a beer before the tour, a 60 minute tour and two tastings on the tour. Our guide, Vernon was fantastic. He was Very energetic and informative. Would highly recommend the tour to anyone who visits the brewery we cannot believe we waited this long to do it.

The tour here is one of the best Brewery Tours that we have done. Very informative, very simple and very enjoyable. Only took 20 mins and Tour Guide Bob was great.
They offer a great flight of beers to taste for just $8 and have a very nice cafe with lovely food.
Worth a visit

Beers were great, food was a 4/5 and the staff was helpful and friendly. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available as well.

We were on vacation from Michigan. Stopped in on a Sunday late afternoon. Met a wonderful server by the name of Jake. He gave us a history of the brewery and explained the whole process on ordering drinks and food. I would definitely recomend to anyone who enjoys farm to table food and great mico brews. I had the smoke brisket sandwich which was outstanding!!

The food here is always awesome. There is always something new and interesting. The staff is always happy to please. I also recommend the brewery tour.

Had a Great time . Great Beer and tour of the place . Food was good also. Was with in walking distance of timeshare.

Great selection of beers. Good selection of food although the grilled cheese was a little light on cheeses. Thick Texas toast breads with minimal cheese.
The fondue and the French fries were terrific.

Great food at a decent price! Beer variety is excellent. Plenty of room for large groups to enjoy themselves.

Self guided tour was nice. I had the duck with buffalo sauce and cornbread smothered in blue cheese- fantastic! My favorite beers were the Troegenator and the Mad Elf.

We stopped in mid afternoon for a late lunch. It was busy but the free for all seating makes it seem like it was even more crowded. You seat yourself where ever you can find a spot and the waiters bring you beer and the food is self serve. It's a different way of doing things but it makes sense as it is a brewery and some people just stop to drink. I had the java head stout which is a meal in and of itself. The other selections of beer were good too. The food was absolutely yummy! Can't wait to go back

We did the brewery tour. It was two minutes before tour was to begin and they ask you to get there at least 15 minutes ahead of time. Well four of us were there on time, but a group of six showed up and we waited! The tour guide, Art catered to this late group of six the entire tour! He even would stand away from us or in front of us as if we were not important. There is a lot of noise so at times it was hard to hear Art, the tour guide, he could’ve actually could worn a microphone or something. The samples were good and I had to remind tour guide we got a pint glass, he forgot! The place is beautiful and very popular! I heard the food and flights are outstanding.

Love the vibe of this place. Very fun. Caylor was so adorable and hospitable for the food section. It was my first time visiting and he and the crew were very welcoming!

Great Beer! They let you taste before you buy
Staff was great, friendlyandhelpful! Nibbles were very tasty. The ambience was very good.

Stopped for lunch with my elementary school aged boys. We enjoyed the self guided tour and excellent lunch - the boys really liked the selection of craft sodas. Less than 10 minutes to Hershey park so glad we checked it out.

NOOPE. never seen such an off the wall menu, WHO puts jalapeno ketchup on a kids hot dog, we just left

I stopped in with friend a friend and his family because I was a fan of their beers and in the area for the 4th of July holiday.
Amazing, high end, creative, delicious food ( not your typical pub food. Excellent service, knowledgeable and friendly bar staff, very reasonable prices, an amazing gift shop, and a beautiful facility.
It was a real pleasure to come here, and I will surely return when in the area!

Book the tour. It was so easy to do on line. The tour starts with a glass of beer. Our tour guide Evan was great. He encouraged questions, which he said made for a fun tour. There were tastings and of course a souvenir! Well worth the cost.

Troegs is a must stop for craft beer fans! From the selection of beers on tap and the eclectic food offerings, to the gift shop, to the option of guided or self-tours, to the Splinter Cellar Art Gallery- Troegs is a favorite. The only downfall is parking. Although there is a large parking lot the place is always hopping- whether a special release day, a random Thursday afternoon or a Saturday night parking is a challenge. Once inside table turnover is fast and service is on point so its worth overcoming the parking challenge!

We stopped at Troegs as we always love to experience breweries wherever we travel too..We had visited Hershey Park and came across this little gem!
This place has a fun beer garden atmosphere and kids are welcome to.come in as we had a 4 year old w us. They have a kids menu as well as sodas and non alcoholic drinks for the kids, so we all win! The food was great and so were the beers! The only thing is you have to get up and order your own food and take it back to the table yourself, so only tip for the drinks that your floating bar tender brings to you! It was a fun time :)

Great place to try some great beer. The food was very different and delicious. Right off main road and very relaxing place to spend a few hours.

What a great place! All the servers were friendly and helpful... lots of different beers and they happily describe them all. Nitro Chocolate Stout..yum! And Naked Elf!

Took my husband for a surprise birthday tour on a Friday evening, where 6 of our friends met us at the Brewery. Took the 5$ tour first and it was very informative and interesting. We had several tastes along the way. Picked up a flight and something to eat, and settled in at a table to eat lamb, brisket and fries, sweet potato chips, Bahn mi. Chips were tasty but VERY salty. Everything else was good, but the brisket won hands down. Parking is limited although the new lot is large. Tasting room/food tables are large and noisy so be prepared for that.

We stopped in here after the RV show based on a recommendation from a friend. She raved about the food. Prices were a bit high for just a sandwich but to be expected at this sort of venue and we don't mind paying for good grub. My husband ordered the pulled pork, I went for the chicken salad wrap. Unfortunately, both were terrible. My chicken salad was drowning in some sort of sickening sweet, runny dressing and hubby's pulled pork had a weird off flavor. We can't speak to the beer as we didn't order any of that, but if you want something to eat, pass this place by.

No middle man! Fresh beer, nifty menu. Hip knowledgeable staff
Cool artwork, interesting layout prices right🍻

I love Troegs Beer and when we went to the Outdoor Show in Harrisburg we stopped on the way home for a beer and a snack. The brewery is quite large but when you walk in it's just cafeteria style, there is a line for beer and a seperate line for food. You wait in line then take your beer or food find somewhere to sit. It was almost half hour wait for our two beers so we didn't feel like waiting in another line for food, there are no menus so you need to wait in lines till you get close to see either the food or beer menus. There also was not a space to sit so we just stood in the room overlooking the stainless steel tanks but met some interesting folks to chat with over an excelent brew!

We really enjoyed this tour! For only 10$ you get three samples of beer, 1 hour tour and a
glass to take home. Justin was our tour guide and he made it even better. Fun time!!

Stopped by expecting the usual craft brewery and found an education based experience with great brew to go with it. One look at the gourmet food bar speaks volumes about the experience. Want a creme brûlée with your tasting- they have it. How about blackened catfish? Wow. Did not expect this. The tour is an hour of fantastic education on the process down to how the various woods impact the process. Don't miss the upstairs art gallery. Fun, foodie and educational. Highly recommend.

Such a fun atmosphere. The beer is amazing and the staff friendly and happy. Prices were fair and the food portions were very large

This place has AMAZING TOURS of their brewery! Very knowable TOUR DIRECTOR! Great beer samples @ the end of tour! Fantastic restaurant~~ with amazing finds!

We caught Troegs early on a recent weekday. Thought it might be too commercial for our tastes, but we were wrong. What a great time! We sampled a number of their beers, made new friends at the bar, purchased a growler, toured the funky art gallery, took a self-guided tour and bought plenty of souvenirs. Can't wait to go back. We'll try the fine-looking cafe next time.

Had lunch at Troegs today -- the tomato soup, grilled cheese combo was wonderful. I am not a beer drinker but the beer drinkers in the group liked the beer they ordered. A different setting and casual atmosphere.

Nice place to visit if you're a beer enthusiast. Place smells like fermentation as my Littles pointed out. The kids menu was limited to the same chicken fingers, hot dogs, quesadilla. I had the Chicken waffle and while very creative in its composition, it lacked some flavor. The spiciness overpowered the flavor for me personally and the waffle lacked flavor. The chicken skins were cold, not crispy and flavorless too. My husband had the duck and says it was ok. Highlights were the beers. Chicken fingers were the best as was the kids salad, except the super spicy croutons. There were other food options that sounded and looked good too, so if in the area I would come back.

Finally got around to taking the guided brewery tour on my recent visit. Minimal cost, ($5). The tour was perfect length: about 45 minutes. Included choice of beer prior to tour, (get there about 15 minutes early), and two more samplings during the tour. I had the Sunshine Pilsner, and the samplings were Java Stout & Jovial. Also sampling of barley seeds while we had the Java Stout. I toured on a weekend, so production was not going on during the tour, but if you take the tour during the week, you will get the full experience. Tours are limited to 10-12 people. Also included was a souvenir glass. Troegs brewery is a must visit for lunch and/or dinner during my stays in Hershey. Love the menu in the snack area, and enjoy trying different types of beer. They also serve a brunch on Sunday, (which I didn't realize until later Sunday night, or I would have gone to that, as well).

Nice place with local craft beers. We took some of the top rated beers home with us to enjoy since we can’t get them in Indiana.

Good beer, food ok, service terrible. After being seated, Twenty minutes for someone to wait on us and another 20 for drinks and to take order .

Great place for a spot of lunch and a few beer tastings!!! Very busy place. Loved the tasty brown butter and rosemary popcorn with the beers too!

We went here over labor day weekend with several families we were with as part of our son's hockey tournament weekend. There were high expectations. We went around 8PM on a Friday. The place was packed. The host explained the ordering process which was unnecessarily complicated - beer from one side and food on the other. No waiters/waitresses ever came to our table to help which was another supposed option. The table we found was never cleaned and it was so loud we couldn't really hear each other to have a conversation. The food was greasy and took over an hour for the order to come up. We had Poutine (that had almost no curds), the pretzel, hot dog (more like a sausage which none of the kids liked), brisket on pretzel bun, and flat bread. It was all very pricey for what we got. The beer was okay, but there are better brewery experiences in other towns we've been at.

This place is always packed so we decided to give it a try. I understand that it's at limited capacity due to Covid. However, we did not have a good experience at all. We joined the wait list on-line and then when we got there had to go on another wait list to enter the store. Once our table was ready we asked if we can sit inside and they said "no, we need to put you where we have room". Ok, so we proceeded outside. We were already hot and tired from being at the park all day, our table was the only table directly in the sun with no fan over us, like the other tables. On top of that, our waiter DJ was HORRIBLE. We felt like he couldn't be bothered with us but was bending over backward for other tables. Thank goodness for Eric who saw we were dying in the sun and came over and got our check for us. The only good part of this restaurant. Menu was also nothing great, I'm guessing limited due to Covid. Don't wast your money. We went to Iron Hill Brewery the next day and it was a thousand times better than this overrated place!

As noted in my title, I was here twice in a two week period while travelling in the area for business.
The first time I came, I was with co-workers, and we were quite content hanging out, sampling beer, and people-watching. The location is convenient with on-site parking. There is plenty of inside and outside seating and I'd describe the atmosphere inside as, "Industrial Oktoberfest." The first time I was there, it was busy, but our server hustled and we had no problem getting a beer. The snack bar, which I'll mention more about in a moment, had an hour long wait.
The second time I came, I was with my wife. We enjoyed some beer (again, the server was prompt), and also hit the snack bar. We were lucky. The lines were shorter on the day we decided to get something. This is different as far as snack bars go...kinda like a gourmet snack bar. We ordered the fries with spicy ketsup (very good), grilled cheese sandwich (Excellent. It had three cheeses with sourdough bread and fresh, homemade tomato soup as thick as Ragu), the Lollypop Lamb Chops (Out of this world - you get two with a type of raspberry yogurt), and the Shrimp Skewers ( I would not recommend the shrimp skewers. They're not shelled, and the shells aren't scored for easy removal. Not worth it one bit).
After lingering over drinks and our food, we shopped in the brewery's store and spent a few bucks. If you're in the area, this brewery has a huge selection of fresh beers and is a worthwhile, tasty, fun visit for singles, couples, or families (yes, there were families enjoying themselves here).
If you have a taste for beer...I recommend the IPAs.

First time there and would go back again. Great selection of brews, friendly staff, food selection looked very interesting - try the popcorn! Self guided tours as well as those with guides.

This is the most unique spot in Hershey. It makes me feel like I’m at a bier hall in Germany. I love the ambiance here. Can’t wait to go back!

We went to the Troeg Brewery to take the tour while in the area. It was a very good tour...the tour guide was friendly and informative. Loved the pre-tour beer and the tastings during the tour. Very good experience. We would definitely go back again when in the area.

The policy is... find a seat and you can either serve yourself or wait for someone to come get your beer for you. Food, you order and pick up yourself. Not a problem...we served ourselves. Then, I wasn't even done my food and a waiter came asked if I was done with my dishes. I said no and he went away never to be seen again! At the end of the evening, we went to pay and the app actually asked for a tip. When I didn't leave one, the cashier was less than pleasant. I did it all myself! even cleaned off our table!
It ruined the mood of my visit...sorry!

We had some reservations about visiting Troegs as it is a larger than the typical craft beer establishment that we visit, but we were not disappointed. The pale bock was so good, I regret not getting some to go.
The service was still personable. Upon telling Justin, our server, what we were interested in, he was able to suggest what we would like and it was true advice. And we still felt that Troegs held on to that small town community atmosphere that craft breweries offer.
We had been disappointed before by Troegs but our loyalty has been renewed and we are happier for that.

Super busy place and not enough parking. Overall I would recommend. The pretzels were delicious. Next time we want to do the tour.

Husband loved the beer! (Mom didn't drink.) We all loved the food! There was something for everyone! Great, social atmosphere! Excellent!

Came here with friends for beer. Nice, modernistic atmosphere, with the Very Good Troegs' beers. Had Troegenator & Mad Elf, always good. Also good food. Seatings a bit unusual, on narrow counters on bar stools, seems designed for > # of people. Likely loud if crowded.

Visited Hershey to see the lights and Hershey World and was interested to see what else was close by, Troegs was fantastic! We toured the brewery for $5 and received samples of beer through out the 45 minute tour and also got a complimentary Troegs glass! After the tour we headed down to the tasting room where they have a snack bar, bar area and also booth/table style setting. If you're in the area Troegs is a must! We visited on a weekday and the crowds wasn't bad at all.

Our family had a fun visit on a rainy day at Hershey. They were very welcoming to our young kids, had a kids menu and free waters. The food was decent and $6 beer flights were fun. Definitely worth trying out.

Anytime I'm out in the Hershey area, Troegs is a must stop destinaton.
Amazing beer, awesome food, and really cool atmosphere.
Most recently, I was out there for a charity 5k run that they hosted (class act)
I've never done the guided tour, but the self guided tour (under construction as of October 2019) and the store are really nice too!

We were soo hungry and thirsty and hopeful when we arrived here, mid afternoon on a Saturday- the place was jam packed.
Friendly hosts told us to sit anywhere; fetch our own food and wait for the roving waitrons to bring us beer. We squeezed in (the place was clearly popular with the highly fed) and looked around for a waiter. Nothing, no-one appeared for 30 minutes- they were obviously in the weeds.
One of us decided to join the long, long line at the bar and the other guarded the seats. Magically of course a waiter did then appear-only to tell us he'd have to do another whole circuit of the cavernous room before taking our order. Which he then proceeded to do- no idea why he couldn't have just taken our order then and there. He was clearly fed up to the back teeth and in no mood for pleasantries.
The beer finally arrived a good 50 minutes after we'd sat down- we were overjoyed! Fortified, we were ready to tackle the food queue. When we arrived at the counter, it was piled high with rapidly cooling and congealing food which presumably, patrons had ordered and not yet picked up. Realizing that ordering hot food would be dicey, I chose the charcuterie platter, the salad and in a leap of faith, the soup of the day. We were packed off back to our seats with a buzzer and a long wait.
I've read some criticism of the food and our local hosts in Hershey told us to avoid eating at Troegs, but in all honestly it wasn't bad at all. Plain bread, rather than fried bread would have set off the rich meats and pates of the charcuterie board much better, but the white bean chili was beautifully garnished with a coulis and the salad was fresh with a wonderful blue cheese.
With respect to the beer, while the stout couldn't hold a candle to Rockwell's BC stout (can't use its full name as trip advisor identified it as profanity)
the IPA was deliciously crisp.
Overall this place has some potential, but as it stands, with its giant retail store, continually sticky tables and offhand service it seems more of a McBrew pub. I'd love to send the owners and staff on a field trip to Ommegand in Cooperstown or Tired Hands in Philly or almost any of the Burlington area breweries so they could see how fine beer, fine food and fine service can all work beautifully together. Their current system of service is fraught and clearly not working on busy days. No matter though- they're drawing the crowds so it could be that profits trump all else for them.

Great place to enjoy a great lunch and refreshments, service was great, Alot of choices for food and alot of good quality beverages

About 20 mins. from Harrisburg. Very nice place for purchase or tasting of various beers (oh and BTW....since it's been mentioned in other reviews, very few wineries/breweries let you "taste" their products for free....always a charge!) Tasting = 4 oz. pours x 4 for $9. Great selection of beer, all types. Plenty of space for large or small groups both inside and out. Food available to purchase from appetizers to burgers...but note: full menu available after 3PM! Before that it's limited but the pretzels are HUGE and will fill you! (Note: the mustard dipping sauce has horseradish in it, so it's SPICY!). Cider is also available. It's right next to the Tanger Outlets...so make a day of it...we did!

I like stopping at the micro breweries. So when we were in Hershey it was on our list to stop at Troegs for beer and food. We arrived around dinner time on a Saturday the place was crowded. Found a table and open a tab at the bar for our flight of samples. All the samples on my flight were good, I liked the scratch #254 Gose Raspberry the best. Ordered food had the flat bread and braised beef with fries they were very good, the fries being excellent. The only complaint I have is the ordering method, you go and stand in line, for beer you bring it back to the table it moves fast. For the food it was a long wait to order then they give you a pager to come get your food when it’s ready. It was just me and my wife, so while I am waiting in line she is sitting there by herself and the beer gets warm. I would think maybe an electronic ordering device at the table. Then I could pick it up when it’s ready. If you are in or near Hershey PA, I would make it a point to stop at Troegs. Well worth it. I am about 2 hours away and might take a trip just to go to Troegs. One thing bring growlers and a cooler, they don’t bottle all the Scratch Series beers.

The tour and tasting was educational. The menu is limited but the food is good. Husband enjoyed the beer, I enjoyed the atmosphere.

Arrived around 5:30 pm. Went into the store to look around. Enjoyed a few free samples. Went into the main area.where we were greeted by an outstanding hostess who explained how to order beer and food. Food was very good with plant based options. It was truly a great visit. Highly recommend!

Good tour along with excellent tour guide Liv. She was friendly and we'll informed. She even brought a sample up to us that we missed while we were eating. Such a energetic sweet heart.
My favorite beer is there seasonal Mad Elf.

Fun food and drinks in a clean atmosphere- Many different areas to sit and enjoy your meal or drink. Parking lot could be improved but there are people to assist. Beer is one of my favorite brands and the food is very good, fresh with natural wholesome ingredients.

It's always good to stop by Troegs for a delicious beer. The list is by ones that they serve all year round, seasonals, and limited releases. This is very helpful if you visit every now and again and want to try something new every time. Sometimes they try a little too hard with the crazy things they do with food, but their options are usually pretty tasty.

Walked in and stood there. No hostess desk or signs to direct patrons to have a seat. After being ignore by staff buzzing by, we went to the food line and asked if we need to wait to be seated. Told no just find a table and a bartender will take care of you. Waited about 10 minutes before noticed. He wanted to take our drink order only and told he doesn't deal with the food. If we want food, then just go to the food side. I ordered a coke but given diet coke, husband had the Octoberfest which was really good. We never saw him again to get a real coke. We went to the food line and ordered an app which was just okay. Still no "bartender" but we found another person and we paid our check and left. If you like a beer you can go to their gift shop to purchase.

Awesome brewery next to Hershey Park and the outlets. Very friendly staff and wonderful selection of beers. Food is really good here. Nice gift shop for shirts and mugs and trinkets. Would go back again.

We were in town visiting the Hershey Cemetery and were looking for a place we could eat with our dog. So excited to find this place! It's a little confusing when you walk in regarding seating, etc. essentially you seat yourself on the patio at least, cafeteria style. Inside there is a food line and the bar, order your food and pick up when ready. Servers can get your beer order on the patio or you can go to the bar. Really enjoyed the flight & brisket sandwich! Would recommend and will go again! Also, they have a kids menu 👍🏼

Last night we finally got around to booking a tour. We love Mad Elf and it’s been fun watching this brewery grow. The place is immaculate and the types of beer are so interesting. The staff in all parts of the establishment were super friendly. Definitely recommend

It pains me to rate one of my favorite breweries with 3 stars but I'll tell you why: the kids and the crowds. Troegs has some of the best beer in the area. The food is great, too. The problem recently with Troegs is how parents abuse the "all ages" policy. I'm talking we rarely, as locals to the Hershey area, go to Troegs anymore because of the kids climbing all over everything, the soccer teams taking up 15+ seats, parents just allowing their kids to run around the brewery, etc. I'm all for families enjoying themselves but Troegs just seems to become a playground for some reason. I know I'm not the only one that feels this way either.
The brewery can no longer accommodate the crowds it draws in. Which, hey, good for them, they are doing great business. But if you get a parking spot, you're lucky and that's only half the battle. You have to hover around the brewery for a seat most days. Its stressful and a headache. Especially if you have over 4 people. Get there early or go at a "slow time," if there even is a slow time anymore. I hope one day there is a remedy to this because we love Troegs; just not the crowds. Normally anymore, we run into the gift shop, grab beer, and go elsewhere for food.

Large tasting room located just feet away from Hershey Park. Excellent choice of beers. Great service and nice small food area. Large tables. Outdoor seating.

I’ve been on many big market brewery tours from the Heineken Brewery tour in Amsterdam to the American midwest breweries of Coors in Golden, Miller Brewing in Milwaukee to my hometown brewery of Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis. It is not a lie to tell you that a smile comes across my face when I’m walking in a city known for brewing beer and the wind changes and that sensuous combination of malt and hops fills the air. For the last several years whenever I get to explore a new city during a vacation, I try to find a local brewery or winery to visit. So, you can imagine my surprise and the smile that stretched across my face when I got to Hershey, PA and found that wonderful smell of brewing beer wafting towards me as I stepped out of my car to sign into the Bluegreen Hershey Suites. I was floored and even slightly excited to find out that not only was there a brewery nearby…it literally sat next door to the BlueGreen Hershey Suites.
That very day I visited that brewery and wrote a review, A Flight of Beers at Troeg’s Independent Brewing. While I was there I learned that they had a brewery tour, but that I had just missed the last tour for the day. I promised myself that I would get to tour this interesting brewery before I left. I was able to go to that tour today…and I’m glad I did. If your in the Hershey, PA area, I recommend that you give it a try.
The tours are by reservation. I imagine though if you or your small group dropped in at the right time and they had space available for you on the tour I’m sure they wouldn’t mind having you join them for the tour. When I went in March, 2019 the hour-long tour cost $10 per person and were held between 11:30 and 3:30 on the half hour. A complimentary Pint glass is included. You can call the Tour Desk at (717) 534-1297 x104 with questions and to schedule your tour. Unfortunately, you must be 21 or over to attend the tour. (I have 3 older teenage children which I had to leave behind. Very Sad, I got some time to myself and they had to stick to swimming)
As you wait for the tour to begin, you receive a complimentary beer for you to enjoy. There is a very interesting Art Gallery up above the Brewery Tour entrance that I highly recommend that you might give 5-8 minuets to look over. It was a very eclectic and an interesting.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and had that slight whimsical sense of humor that always makes taking a tour more enjoyable when all you need to do is listen. Not that you can’t ask questions, you are encouraged to ask them anything. It’s just that their tour guide’s information on the production of Tröegs brewing process was so thorough that truly no questions were needed.
If you’re like me…I’m sure your wondering how much beer you are going to get to sample for the $10 cost of the tour. Usually, I would tell you that information up front. I am going to hold off on doing that for this review. I had such an informative tour, and a good time, it feels as if worrying about the amount of beer that one will consume during the tour for $10 would cheapen my experience and this review. I do assure you that this tour with its attention to detail, plus a free decorative Pint Glass and the amount of beer that you will receive before and during the tour will make you very pleased with yourself (and hopefully with me too) that you spent the time and money on visiting the Tröegs Independent brewery. (If you must know, drop me a line)

We loved our experience twice here. The grilled cheese from the food bar is so delicious. The beers are always very good. It was very crowded on a weekend afternoon and seating was tough. This is a great place though and we will return.

Popped in here after the outlets for some lunch and a drink. As we were with a dog, we sat on the lower patio which was nice, albeit a haven for bees.
Ordered food at the counter; pretzel, duck, fries and noodles. Pretzel and the fries were really good and worth the money. The duck was okay but quite expensive for the size of portion. Noodles were good.
Friendly team members and speedy service. Would return!

Just a short distance from Hershey Park and the Tanger Outlets, Troegs offers a cool respite from the Disneyesque feeling of Hershey. You'll find a current list of beers including those on tap, seasonal, scratch series and in cork and cage bottles. There are many large rustic tables available in the cavernous main area. If it's crowded, head around the corner to the right for more seating along the bottling route.
Try several beers in a tasting sampler and then check out the food menu. You'll have to line up at a separate window to give your food order, but take a buzzer and go back to your table to wait. Soda is also available.
Most of the food is locally sourced and delicious. The cheese platter is small for the money. The large pretzel and dips, Mad Elf fondue, and the fries are consistently good. The menu varies often, so check back to see what's new. There may be oysters or foie gras paired with duck or chicken. There's a variety, so I recommend getting several dishes to share. There's even a great Sunday brunch menu.
Troegs is loud, there are often small children running amok, so it would not be good place for a quiet tête à tête. Come with your friends or celebrate with a large group. There is also outdoor seating. You need to arrive early to get a table, or stalk people as they are leaving. The same goes for parking. On crowded days, people park at the Outlets and walk over rather than circling the parking lot.
If you have time, take a guided tour to learn about the history of Troegs and the process of beer making. It's interesting and you get a bird's eye view of the brewery from up on the catwalk. It may be hard to hear your guide over the din of the brew hall, but you'll learn what goes into that delicious beer.

Had a chance to stop here after a long day at Hershey. Gastro pub food was amazing. Great selection of brew.

First of all, Troegenator Double Bock Beer is our personal favorite. So we entered the Brewery already biased to the brand. That being said, there is so much more to the Troeg label. And you'll learn all about it on the Production tour. We made our reservations for a Saturday afternoon tour one week in advance as was recommended, and had only two times remaining to choose from. They do say that there is a possibility of joining a group on Fridays thru Sundays, but our group was completely full and people were turned away.
Closed toe shoes are a must. If you forget, they have a collection of colorful rubber shoes for lending. Get there a little before your start time and they'll hand you a full pour of your choice of beer, fresh from the tap in water-cooled glasses. You can admire the monster-sized foeders or the imaginative art gallery. The tour takes about 40 minutes, and it is a complete walkthrough from hops buds to beer suds, barrel aging to bottle labeling. On our day the production line was quiet and we could hear the tour guide without any problem. We had samples of two additional brews during the tour, and finishes with included souvenir glasses featuring the Troeg family of beers.
The tour deposits you in the gift store, which is not necessarily a bad thing as you can pick up bottles of their limited issue Bourbon barrel-aged Troegenator. Note: four is not NEARLY enough, especially if you don't live in the area!
Afterwards, we ate in the tasting room/snack bar. Highly recommend that you sample their Scratch Series of beers, just for the sheer fun of discovering new tastes. We particularly enjoyed the Crimson Pistil, brewed with Hibiscus flower 'tea', with a citrusy character and pretty pink color; and the barrel-aged Flying Mouflan.
If you're hungry, there are many fresh food options at their snack bar. Grab a paper menu and beer list on your way in (the beer list changes often), decide and order at the snack bar counter. They'll give you a buzzer to notify when the order is ready for pickup. Order your beers at the bar, or from any of the roaming bartenders. Kudos to the entire staff for their hometown friendliness. The sweet onion soup and beef brisket sandwich were very tasty. Some orders come with thick cut and seasoned potato fries -- which tasted amazing unconventionally dipped in the onion soup.
Enjoy your visit. We'll be back.

Went here with our two sons and their families for a bite to eat and to get out of the house after Christmas. Troegs did a great job with the design of their brewery to make the process visible to the visitors. Huge glass walls surround the eating/drinking area and provide an interesting backdrop.
The large variety of beer on tap and knowledge of the “beer steward” was helpful in finding a beer the each person would like.
Food is ordered at a walk up counter and the line went pretty quickly. We had the fondue that was a favorite to everyone as an appetizer. I had the brisket bbq and fries that were both good tasting but could have been warmer. The grilled cheese sandwich was well received by those who had them and the kids enjoyed their food.
The industrial interior with high ceilings and “hard” interior made for a noisy place making it hard to hear conversations. Seating is communal at large tables and chairs.
The one complaint is lack of anything to drink that was sugar free or unsweetened. No wine either.
Overall an interesting place. More suited for drinking beer than having a meal.

Once upon a time Troegs was vegetarian friendly when it came to their food choices. Now everything seems to have bacon. Disappointing. Yes, you can request no meat but then what's left? Come on master chef, get creative. Welcome to the 21st century.
Their beer is good. Bartenders are always a challenge. It's as if they are trained to be unfriendly.

Fun place to visit when in Hershey. Service was a little slow but they have a good selection of craft beers (in 3 beer flights). The biggest surprise was the food. My wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich, served on a mini baguette, that was awesome. Worth the price of admission. The place is lively and friendly.

Felt like I was at Disneyland with all the crowds. People had to actually wait for parking. The lines inside seem to move along pretty quickly and we were able to sample a couple different beers. My favorite was Nimble Giant which was quite outstanding. We didn't try the food so I can't review that.

A lively and awesome place for great beer and outstanding food. Even though the place was packed, we got our beer quickly, and food soon after.

The tour was great. This is a very modern, highly efficient brewery. Our guide was knowledgeable, and the tasting mid tour in the brewery was good. Don't miss stopping a the restaurant. We were able to taste brews not widely distributed on the tour.

We were fortunate to snag a tour of the brewery on short notice as they. were completely booked. We arrived early at 11:30 for our 1:00 tour. We wanted to get lunch in before. There was plenty of parking when we arrived but the large lot filled up quickly and, by the time of our tour, the lot and restaurant was packed. They have a large menu of what I would describe as fancier bar food. The pretzels are HUGE and soft served with cheese and mustard. My wife had the cauliflower tempura that really wasn't a tempura but good regardless. We then had the troegswurst and grilled cheese with tomato soup. Both were good but ready. Pricing was moderate. Since we were there on a Saturday, they weren't in production. Before the tour, we had half a glass of a choice of beers. We had an excellent tour and saw the whole operation. The history of the brothers and how they started was interesting and it showed how they valued their employees. Halfway through, we sampled a beer before it was finished that was interesting and quite bitter. We ended with another sample of their Jovial beer that we liked and brought home some. We also received a souvenir glass. All in all, it was well worth the $10 fee.

My boyfriend and I were looking for something to do to round out a day in Hershey. We decided to do the guided tour of Troegs and were not disappointed! I am not a beer drinker so the samples were wasted on me, but he enjoyed them. It was interesting hearing the process and seeing some of the different equipment. Oddly, I really liked the bottling area. The pint glass souvenir (that is part of the $10 price for the tour) was a nice touch. While waiting for the tour to start we browsed the art gallery and he drank the "welcome beer".
We decided to eat at the snack bar afterward. There are workers who will get you drinks from the bar, but if you want food you get it from the snack bar yourself (which we did not have a problem with). We split the hop fries, grilled cheese, the current soup (chicken & dumpling) and a salted caramel pretzel brownie. I thought the food was excellent and was pleased they had a water station so I could serve myself water as needed.
A stop at the store afterwards was a must and we found a few things to bring home.
All in all a great visit!

Visited over the Christmas Holiday for a tour of the brewery. Tour guide was very pleasant and informative. Great presentation of the brewing process, the story behind the owners and how the brewery arose. Tour includes several tastings.
Was really stunned by how busy the restaurant was. Place was packed at 3:30 in the afternoon! The only bad part of our visit was trying to park. Since the restaurant was so busy there was absolutely no parking left. drove circles around the lot trying to get a spot and finally gave up and parked down the street at the nearby outlets and walked over.
Highly recommend a visit here!

We have been to Troegs numerous times, never disappoints. We decided to add a Guided tour of the place as I am very interested in the Beer making process. Our tour guide Pat was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the History and product. Half way thru the tour we were happy to try out the new beer coming out, Nugget Necter, fresh and delish! And at the end of the tour the last on 2019s mad elf! We learned a lot and had fun doing it. The wife and I then sat at the bar and enjoyed some tastings and delish food. The Mad Elf Fondue and the Brisket sandwich. Awesome. We can’t wait to get back!!!

Lots of good beer here! You can't try everything they have in a single flight! There's a brew here for everyone, and the growlers they sell are better than any other brewery I've gone to. If you don't like the beer, the growlers are a cool souvenir for any beer drinkers.

I love Troegs beer. My friends and I love to stop here when we are in the area. We get a sampler so we can try the different beer. I really like the hop fries. The food is very large portions and always good. I have yet to try something I didn't like.

A series of reviews have been created for our an annual trip we take with 2 other couples. This year it was the Hershey, Lancaster, PA area. The
reviews coverJune 27 to 30, 2018.
The next item on our agenda was to visit this local brewer. Troegs Brewing Company.
One can schedule a guided tour but we arrived too late. (See their Web Site for times and Cost)
In lieu of the guided tour they have a self guided tour. The brewery is very impressive and the self guided tour was excellent. We ended our visit with three flights of beer to taste. They also have food if needed to soak up the beer.
Worth your time to visit while in the Hershey area. It is right down the road from the Park.

It was extremely busy. They have an open seating concept which makes getting a table during busy times very difficult. You cannot be shy when trying to obtain a table. We do love the food. The grilled cheese with tomato soup is amazing! The Mad Elf fondue is to die for! We will return again we will just make sure to arrive as soon as they open.

I was only here briefly - but I am so glad that I stopped and I wish I had more time. I will def visit next time I am in the area. Just wanted to stop in and see what it was like, sample a beer, and look around. The staff in the tasting room was so nice. A lady helped me pick a beer and gave me a tiny taste of the one that I wanted to try but was apprehensive about. It was fantastic and I loved it. I took my beer on the self-tour which was very short but I've done many brewery tours so I like express - been there done that. The tasting room was bustling with people and it seemed like the place to be. I wanted to hang out with friends instead of getting on with my day. Def a place to meet. So many beers and cool setting. The menu at the food area looked great - not your run of the mill bar food - imaginative and pleasing menu - much like the company itself. I also went up to the art galllery and LOVED it. I love that they even have this. It was small but the art was awesome and it made it all the better. I like the art throughout the brewery and their styling on the bottles etc. so visiting the gallery was icing on the cake. The gift shop was cool and not to outrageous. They had something awesome hid in the corner - recycled repurposed work shirts. I'm too old and too unhip at this stage of the game, but this would have been my souvenir. They are like men's work shirts with name tag plates, From the bus depot, car garages, etc. On the back, they have been retrofitted with the Troeg Brewery design for the employees. It's awesome and you need to buy one, Wear it for me bc Im not in the demographic anymore.
Loved this place - one of my favorite stops. When I was in the Hershey area looking to waste time for a couple of hours, Trip Advisor popped up on my phone and suggested this place. So I went. Thanks TA!!!!!!
Troeg Brewing fan for life!!!!

Good food and drinks. Loved the setup and the vibe. Feel welcome and not out of place as a non-local like I have at some breweries. Good selection of house-made soda for non-alcoholic drinks. Self-guided tour is a nice touch.

Good selection of beers, food selection has improved - however the food was cold. Very crowded and staff did not seem to want to wait on people

My husband and I were visiting the area for a concert and decided to see what else was around. Well lucky for us we got to visit this gem of an attraction. First if you love beer you will be in heaven. This 20 year old business continues to strive for better beer day in and out, then you get to eat some of the best food I've ever had. Rosemary and Butter Popcorn, Three Cheese Grilled Cheese, Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Brisket Sandwich. Small plates, Sandwiches, and Meals. The place runs like a well oiled machine and the servers are amazingly service-oriented. Also tons of families there to eat and enjoy. So even I'd you don't like beer :( still go for the food, you won't be disappointed.

The brewery tour is great and the guides are full of knowledge. The owners are onsite so that is cool as well. The beer is delicious and the recommendations from the bartenders are spot on. And the food! Holy moly the food is beyond amazing!! Defiantly recommend this brewery for beer (or gourmet food) lovers!!

I stopped in Troeg's one evening while on vacation with my family. I only had a few beers but found the place to be very neat, clean, and large. The beers are of course delicious. They have a nice menu of snacks and smaller meal items. They operate several different types of tours but I did not participate in any of them. Overall, a very nice place to visit if you like beer.

We a tour a few breweries every year, from very small to the big guys. This has been the best tour by far. Our guide, Bob from Oregon, is clearly an enthusiast and experienced teacher. The tour includes an interesting history of the company and its founders. The food techie in our group was impressed with his knowledge and ability to drill down into some of the technical issues when asked. Save time for lunch in their restaurant and come hungry. The $10 tour includes samples and a nice Troeg's pint glass.

Came here with a coworker for dinner after a day of travel; were staying at the Hotel Hershey, this is just a quick drive down the road. Was a little confused on the set-up (order beer, than food), but the staff were so great we quickly figured it out and got our beer and a table. We ordered the grilled cheese which was great, along with the Pountine (which was average, I'm from Minnesota, so close to Canada people, and this was not true Poutine -- more like fries and cheese curds with au jus on the side), but, was still good.
Loved the IPAs...tried a bunch! Nice outdoor area...

Place is amazing from start to finish. Minus the parking. They have beers they brew that sometimes you can't get everywhere. The gift shop and the map where you pin where you came from to visit. They get international visitors. 10/10 will be back.

This is by far the best brewery I know of. Beer is excellent. Great selection and priced well. Beer tour is well worth it. For a couple of bucks you get a decent tour about 45 mins and taste beer. You also get a nice beer glass at the end. The food they have is really tasty as well. This place can become really crowded so try to go early and during the week. But when a place is this good, crowds are expected.

We were in the area over the summer and decided to stop in for lunch. My wife and I don't drink much so we didn't have an of the beer, but were happy with the lunch.
The only negatives I can think of is the food took a little while longer than I would have expected, and there were a LOT Of children in the area that were screaming and running around the dining area (not the restaurants fault, but the parents). However, the food was really good, and there were some different choices than at a typical casual dining restaurant.
I can't comment on the beer selection, but if you are in the area and want to try something a bit different for lunch or dinner, give it a try.

I came here with my boyfriend. We were looking for "grown up" activities to do in Hershey. I went back and forth between coming to Troegs and going to another more expensive, farther away brewery. I am SO happy I came here. I have done many beer and wine tours before in the past and this one was great!!
For only $5 we got an almost hour long tour, a welcoming beer, samples, and a glass to take home! We also had an incredibly informative tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and genuine. This tour is a MUST and is well worth the money. I am a huge Troegs fan as of it; I loved learning about the family, the story and the process behind how the beer is made! This is an inexpensive fun time. Also, the chicken and waffles are awesome at the snack bar!

Very interesting tour. You get a tasting on the way and at the end of the tour too. Turn in your sample and get a free pint glass! Now to the snack bar! Huge pretzel is a must have. Ask for extra mustard! If you like grilled cheese and tomato soup, this is for you. One of the biggest I've ever seen! Enjoy!

I liked the beers on offer here at microbrewery...I think their taster collection is worth a try if one is unsure on type of beer to enjoy...only thing is they need to add some Veggie food options, there is hardly anything for the veggies....servers also need to improve a little bit, overall good microbrewery though

Went on the tour with my boyfriends family. It is long about 45 mins. You learn a lot about beer though! They give you beer 3 times during the tour! Make sure u eat before you go because u will be drunk! Always have a DD! CLOSED TOE SHOES! required for the tour!!!

We went after seeing the many reviews here. It's an interesting place and you can see all the machinery and tanks used to make the alcohol. The food was not bad. However, be prepared for large crowds as I don't know when off-peak is for this place. Also, be prepared for frustration with parking because the parking lot for the brewery is not that big and quickly runs out of space. The brewery's solution? To make you constantly drive around in circles without stopping your car.

Great PA brewery with a variety of beers. Trying Mango IPA, Solid Sender and Blizzard of Hops. They not only serve beer, but you can enjoy food and either a guided tour or self guided tour.

Troegs has a very nice setup! Open brewery and they’re continuing to expand their space. Limited food menu but very tasty with some unique offerings. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the beers I tried—the chocolate nitro was probably the best of the few I had—but others love their brews. Plenty of variety. Worth a visit when staying in Hershey!

Guided brews tours book up super fast!! Sadly wasn't able to book one!! But they do have a free small self guided tour. Restaurant ,gift shop , large dining/bar area , art gallery, outdoor seating! Fun place!!!ordered a beer sampler tray from the bar! Reasonable prices only $8 for 7 . My boyfriend ended up finding his new favorite beer troeganator!

We stopped in for dinner. The food selection was somewhat limited but what we got, we really enjoyed. The beers were quite good. The overall feel of the place was somewhat like a cafeteria which I didn't really like. It was hard finding a seat. You have to stand in line for your food order then pick it up when your buzzer goes off. It would have been nice if they could have brought the food to you. Still we had a good time and would return. I would love to walk around the place and take a tour but we didn't have time this visit.

Words can't describe how amazing this brewery is!!! We were in Hershey visiting from CT and we were so excited to see that Tröegs was located only minutes from our hotel. The atmosphere in the brewery is so inviting. The food is so fresh. We were able to get a flight of beer and ordered the food. It can out so quickly. The kids were able to come with us too...:I wish we lived closer I would be Tröegs on a daily basis

We had no idea how big or how popular this establishment is, but wow! We circles the parking lot 4 times trying to find a parking spot until one of the traffic controllers took pity on us and moved aside a couple of cones so we could squeeze into one hidden spot. Once in Troegs Brewing Company it quickly became visible why it is so busy. The self guided tour is very well put together, although it would be great to see the brewing going on while on the tour, with lots of descriptions of the processes involved. The machinery, mostly imported from Italy and Germany, is very impressive. And the artwork which decorates the walls is also worth checking out. Now for the beer, we tried two samplers (six beers), and enjoyed the Perpetual IPA, the Troegenator, the DreamWeaver Wheat, the JavaHead Stout, the Chocolate Stout, and Nimble Giant. So Troegs does offer a lot of different types of beers and they also sell food. We did not get any food since we had just eaten brunch and had dinner plans not too far away, but the $11 pretzel did seem a big pricey. One thing which was wonderful to see was all the families and their doggies. So kids and Fido are welcome!

Friendly and fun little tour of the brewery.
You get to taste different kind of beer and see where and how they make it.
The staff is friendly and happy to answer questions.

The tour was really good- considering the price and getting beer at the beginning and end- well worth it. The beer is excellent- nice selection- the food is absolutely amazing. We have the stuffed squash, pear hand pie, grilled cheese and tomato soup, fries, pretzel (best pretzel I’ve ever had). I’ll go back when I’m back in the area for sure. Don’t miss it!!

visited in a Saturdayb at 1pm and got right in no nproblkem. Excellent choices of craft beers and the food was great too. Plenty of room to sit spent like 2 hours and was fully entertained - could have done the tour which woulda been good too but just ran outta time

After planning to eat somewhere else (somewhere that was going to be too long of a wait), we ended up here--and I'm so glad we did! Plenty of seating on a Saturday at lunchtime--no wait--with lots of outdoor options. The kids thought the free self-guided tour was neat, because of the mural and timeline on the wall. The giant barrels were also a hit. We did not do the official tour. What I was not prepared for was the great food. I had the salmon toast--citrus-cured salmon with avocado cream cheese and asparagus--and it was one of the tastiest food combos I've ever had. Everything we ordered was delicious.

This place is great, very friendly people working and teaching about the different beers. They have a snack menu a little over priced. The beer selection is incredible, you must try “317” that’s the name of the beer. This one goes well with some oysters. Must stop over, the place is real cool.

This was my first brewery tour ever and I really enjoyed it. I enjoy Troegs beer so it was really cool to see how they make it all. The tour takes your through every step of the brewery process and along the way you are able to try some beer as well as try some of the grain that is actually used in the beer. I found the tour to be both entertaining and informative. I definitely recommend doing this tour if you are in the area and are a fan of beer!

Great “snack” bar - good for dinner, love the black bean tacos, street corn fries, and rosemary popcorn. Beer is good too. Walk threw the brewery and visit the gift shop!

My wife and 2 kids stopped there around 2:30 on a Saturday. After circling the parking lot a couple times we found a spot. We entered and waited for a table. FOR 45 MINUTES!! Granted since our party contained a 3 year old, the high top tables were not an option for us. But as soon as one would open, someone would grab it. Or customers would lurk until the occupants left. We never got a table. We left. Probably won't be back either. We explained our frustrations to the host but he wasn't interested. We were there over a year ago and got a table in the back where the brewery is. Inexplicably, they removed a bunch of tables from there. Maybe they enjoy watching patrons wander all around trying to find a table?

We were in the area for a few days and thought this would be a fun, spur of the moment place to go. We wanted to try the guided tour but were told reservations would be needed and usually they are made several weeks in advance. Ok, so we just do the self guided tour.
We had to walk by the tasting room to get to the tour. The tasting room was large and it was packed! I can see that it could be fun...less people, music. It would be a fun night out. So....we ordered a couple of beers which were very good, but...a $13 bottle of beer??
The self guided tour was ehh. The draw here is more about sitting around drinking beer.

Wasn't sure what to expect when we were going into the brewery. All the employees were very helpful. The food was absolutely fantastic we had gotten a pretzel which was as big as the food tray. The cheese fondue which is served with bread and apples was incredible if you go you have to try and the portions were large enough for the four of us to share. I could not write this review and not tell you that the beer is absolutely outstanding which I knew already because I live in New Jersey and I am lucky enough to be able to purchase troegs at home. If you have children bring them along the environment is not like a bar it was more like a restaurant. Try the sampler of beer you get 4 4 oz glasses of your choice . Well worth the trip

Amazing beer! This was my second visit to Hershey in the past two years and I have done the tour of Troegs both years!! They really have it together when it comes to making good beer!!! I didn't have this food this year but given past experience it's top notch!! And I bought a couple cases to take home !!!!!

Amazing staff, food and beers! I love going to this brewery every year. The food selection is off the charts good!

Melissa was our server... Outstanding ...she was knowledgable and helped us make individual choices ... She knew the products and was very patient in guiding us with our choices
And also helped us make some wonderful food choices.
The menu is quite diverse and I so enjoy that is farm to table !
I will definitely return ... It is a place that everyone will enjoy!

Visited on a work trip. Stopped in the store and they provided a couple tasters. Friendly enough employees in there. Thought I would try a few in the main tap room but they are so busy I sat at the bar for 15 minutes un-noticed. No sale!

Not your run of the mill brewery.Went on a Saturday night and it was almost standing room only. Seems to be extremely popular for miles around. The beers I tasted were "Very" good. The food also. All the staff seemed warm and friendly. Parking is an issue.

Not bad at all for lunch and even dinner and drinks. Had a decent brunch and good beer. overall, I didn't particularly care for the atmosphere ...

After a hectic day at the Hershey's Chocolate World, a cold beer in a chill atmosphere is just what you need. Mt husband and I shared two flights. I settled on the lager. Great beer! If you are into craft brews, this place is for you. To get the full experience, take your time, get some food and relax. Bathrooms were super clean and gift shop had everything. Outside area was super cute.

Always enjoy making a trip to Troegs when we’re in town at Hershey. Love tasting the various beers, always get a double flight so I can taste 6. This is our third or fourth visit, and either we’re being more selective with our food choice, or their food is improving. Still very heavy food, almost over flavored and too rich, they could either add more dilutive substance or less of the flavor components. For example more egg noodles in the squash and fried sage small plate, or more greens in the kale and chard salad (too much dressing). And this coming from someone that loves flavor! PS, the popcorn is amazing.

Awesome food and outstanding beer. The food here is always top notch and it's great to get beer directly from the place it's made. We ordered the dill pickle fried chicken (it's 5 pieces of perfectly breaded chicken, 2 sourdough biscuits, house made pickle chips and dipping sauces), grilled cheese on huge sourdough bread with a small side of tomato soup, tempura cauliflower (soogy, but good) and 4 beers. Due to covid, you no longer order at the snack bar and then go to the bar to order your beer. They have people going from table to table to get your order, bring you your food and take drink ordered. We actually prefer it that way. It was less stressful and made for a nice, relaxing time. We were there on a Thursday and when we left around 5:30pm there was already a wait for tables. It's a super popular place and we love visiting. They also have a well stocked, clean shop to purchase Troegs merchandise, beer and to go food items. The brewery is also right next to some outlet shopping. We wish we lived closer because we would definitely visit more often!

Have come here whenever near the area. The food is outstanding. The beer wonderful. I go the the general store and spend too much money. Lol

Okay, this place is awesome! I love seeing all the facilities of beer production and bottling. I tried the year round sampler, its hit & miss but i'm also not a beer drinker so if youre in to brews go check it out. The only thing i can complain about is the smell of all the hops on the brewery, but then again im not a beer drinker

We’ve stopped here two years in a row after spending the day at Hersheypark. Great open atmosphere, kid friendly. Good food and good drinks. Friendly, helpful staff and WiFi for the kids!!

This was one of the best brewery tours I have ever taken! For $10, you get a very informative tour throughout the entire brewery. You get to try several beers, eat malt roasted 3 different ways, and you get to take home a Troeg’s glass. After the tour, I ordered the Pork Belly Lettuce Wrap. It was enough to feed 2 people and it was delicious! I also tried a flight of the sour beers on tap that day as I am a sour beer fan. I was not disappointed. My favorite 2 were the Freaky Peach and the Scratch 376 Passionfruit and Guava Tarte Ale.

A friendly, busy place to enjoy some beer and make new friends. Seriously, the choices are excellent; suggest starting with the year round sampler which is 6 beers for $8. A real bargain. The pretzels are HUGE and pair perfectly with the beer; there is easily enough for 3 or perhaps 4 people. Menu items are interesting and different than your average pub. There is also lots of seating, something that is often in short supply at other places. They have a free self tour, a pay ($5) tour and a very nice gift shop. Be patient, there is construction around the building and parking may be a bit limited but there are pub folks out there to help you.

The beer was great and the food was great! The snack bar concept was interesting, but the food was really good. The clams were great and so was the wrap.
We stopped here after a morning at Hershey's Chocolate World and it was a great place to have lunch.

I'm not sure what was going on yesterday (Saturday) but even the waitress was shocked at how crowded it was. ALOT of little kids, which I wouldn't have suspected at a brewery. Please don't get me wrong, I love kids but now that my kids are older and after spending 2 full days in an amusement park with a lot of small kids, I was looking forward to some adult time.
Food is served cafeteria style, line to order food was long, took 20 mins to order. Beer selections are broad but good.
Overall I liked it, would have loved it if it wasn't so crowded and food was served by table service.

My fiance and friends having been coming to Hershey for the last 6 years. To say that we LOVE Troegs is an understatement! We enjoy their scratch series and regular favorites. The food is out of this world and the menu is always rotating. I've had fish, salads and vegetarian options; all which were FANTASTIC! The atmosphere is inviting, the staff are helpful and it's just an all around great place to hang with friends. Whether you like to grab a beer in the outside beer garden or sit inside with Viking-like tables, Troegs is a place to enjoy a variety of craft brews and outstanding food! They never disappoint!

If Jesus said make me a brewery it would be this. Great place for amazing food and better beer. Wish they were closer to me!

We always love hitting up Troegs when we are in town. We are usually in town around the holidays and Troegs is packed at these times. It's filled with kids, big groups and families.
We love the selection of beers. The scratch (experimental small batch) beers are fun to try. The gift shop is huge with tons of fun merch. And the menu of "snacks" has a large variety and decent prices.
It's a fantastic experience with good service and a fun ambience. This place is always packed when we go and that considered, the service is good. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because I ordered the pork belly and it was tough. I also wish they had non-beer options or at least non-carbonated options.

In town on business. Friend told me this is a "must go to" place. I am glad I listened. Great beer choices. Try the "scratch beers". Only available at the brewery. Unusal food selections...but good..

We live about 2 hours north of Hershey. Not extremely far for a day trip, but far enough that we can’t just pickup and go for a quick drink or meal. But we simply couldn’t stay away.
I first visited in early December with my husband for the brewery tour. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! $5 gets you a full glass of beer + 2 samples, about an hour long tour through their the facility with a highly knowledgeable guide, and a pint glass at the end. The history and process was very interesting to hear. The small group made it possible for questions and conversations without being a lecture.
Before the tour there’s an interesting little art gallery on the 2nd floor. Worth a browse while you sip your first beer waiting for the tour to start.
After the tour we grabbed some food. We made the mistake of not eating enough before the tour and I needed something to offset the alcohol in my system. The Oktoberfest pretzel was huge. Perfect for the two of us to share. There’s a self-serve water station, much appreciated!!
So fast forward a few weeks...my husband couldn’t stop craving the pretzel so we decided a last minute day trip had to happen. We took our two boys (ages 8 and 4) with us this time for a snack, with a few other plans in the area. We got a pretzel and an order of the hop fries. Fries were a tad overdone, some burnt to a crisp, but the ones that were just right were delicious. Meh on the accompanying spicy ketchup. Pretzel hit the spot. The boys loved it too. My youngest wanted to lick the barley off the plate... I debated the mad elf fondue, but decided against it this time. I think next time for sure.
We also shared a sampler flight. 1) ‘When in Doubt Lager’ 2) ‘Nitro Chocolate Stout’ and 3) ‘Master of Pumpkins. We enjoyed all of them. Hubby wanted bottles of the Lager (he also thoroughly enjoys another PA Lager...but liked this one more!) but they didn’t sell it by the bottle.
We will certainly be back!

We stopped here on the start of our journey home. My fiance is a home-brewer, so needless to say, he loved it. He especially loved how Troegs showed the open brew system, which isn't used often. We only did the self guided tour, but it was enough to understand how beer is brewed. Me, not being a drinker, still enjoyed it. While there, we also had lunch. The lunch menu, although on the surface is expensive, it's well worth every penny. Their lunch kept us full almost the whole rest of the day! The area itself is still under construction, but I'm sure once it's done, will be even better.
Worth the stop if you have the chance!

We had meetings in Harrisburg and decided to make the trip up because they always make great beers and had never been. I was worth the trip. Its a laid back brewery with a great DIY tour that you can take at your leisure. Plenty of great beers that are a limited release and the food is great. Its huge and can accommodate large groups!

Went on Fathers day, Excllent selection of beers. Ordered beef brisket and grilled cheese. Both were great.
They were very busy and sold out of many food item. Beautiful landscaping. Different areas to sit inside and outside. They have a seelf guided tour, well done.

The beer is good, the food is great! My husband is a beer connoisseur, and I am growing into it. Troeg’s has several beers that I like, particularly the mad elf and grand cru. But the real reason we go here once a month or more is because of the food. The menu is always changing and the food is always excellent and adventurous. They cute and smoke their own meats, the salad varieties are great, and the popcorn is beyond!!
The mad elf fondue during Christmas is worth every calorie

I wish I could give this 0 stars. I came with 3 small children. One sleeping in my husbands arms. I saw 1 open table and ran inside to put in my name. When I got to the front the hostess told me it’s self seating… so that table was taken when I went back out. I ran around the whole place looking for another table. 20 min into it a family told me I can take their table Becuz they were leaving. We sat down and the waiter says “just so you know we aren’t serving food for about an hour and a half”. Which should have been the first thing out of the hostesses mouth. Wtf

My husband has always wanted to come to Troeg's, so we decided to come for his Birthday. We weren't disappointed! We were greeted by a pleasant woman who explained things to us. We found a seat and were first served by James, who was pleasant and efficient. I was delighted to discover Troeg's offers cider, as I am not a beer drinker. We didn't mind the cafeteria-style service for food. The menu is eclectic, but the food is delicious. We were later served by Darren, who was absolutely fabulous! Very friendly and helpful, and an asset to Troeg's! The gift shop had very cool items and the staff very helpful. We will definitely be back!

My husband really wanted to visit Troegs so we dragged our friends there for a visit. All of us ordered flights and were not disappointed. Had snacks to go with our beer. Very busy during lunch hour. Had a great time.

Went to Troegs with my boyfriend over the summer, we had an awesome time! The brewery staff were great and very knowledgeable. We do a lot of brewery tours and you really got to get up close and personal on this one. I have to also mention how delicious the food here is! After the tour we went to their bar/restaurant. We got two flights and the grilled cheeses, we would have ordered more food but we had eaten a large breakfast because these foods were AWESOME! If you're planning a trip to Hershey you should definitely go here!

Every year I travel to Harrisburg to attend the Great American Outdoor Show. This gives me an excuse to drop in at Troegs for dinner. This is a fun place for a beer and dinner. The beer is excellent with several different brews to choose from. For dinner, you can choose from apetizers to full dinners...the grilled cheese sandwich is really good! If you like beer and want a nice place to grab one and a bite to eat...stop by Troegs!

This was nice the tour guide really knew her stuff. It was nice to get all the back story of how it became troegs

Stopped here after hiking. The place is huge but we went upstairs where it was quieter. We enjoyed the beer and the service was excellent too. Dark lager was delicious. We had the beef tostadas and the Brussels and squash appetizer - unique dishes especially for a brewery and very tasty. Definitely recommend.

Stopped in for a late dinner and to try the beer. Super fun atmosphere, and the best part was the friendly, roaming wait staff. The food was yummy and the beers were fantastic! So many great beers...we tried several of the IPAs and also the Blueberry Ale. Definitely a must -do if you are in the Hershey area.

We've been here several times for food and are never really happy with the food with some exceptions. I had the salad with mozzarella, beets, pistachios. It was ok and fresh but nothing special. They should have an option to add chicken or other protein as it is a dinner sized salad. Wife had pulled pork sandwich which we've had before and she liked it but wasn't thrilled. Daughter had mac and cheese waffle with pork and collard greens. She didn't like the greens. I think they try too hard to have gourmet food and overreach. As most people come here for the beer, not the food it is strange that they don't have simpler but tastier options such as burgers, etc. The grilled cheese and tomato soup are very good as are the fries.

Ive heard from many people and agree that the beer is just alright. Its nothing special. The food had been know to be better than the beverages and the food itself isn’t all that great either.

Wonderful selection of beer and food! Pork belly lettuce wraps, cheese plate (warm honey was amazing)! We tried a variety of beers.

Troegs is a great, local brewery. They have awesome beer, and creative food (i.e. not just your typical bar food - it will feed the foodie in you). The entire building has an industrial feel, with both indoor and (recently expanded) outdoor seating. They also have recently expanded the parking lot, but it does get very busy at times. In my experience the staff have always been friendly and helpful, even when they're crazy busy. Also, if you get the chance, book the guided tour (yes, I said book it - while I believe they do take walk-ins, the tours fill up quickly). The tour is about 45 minutes, and you get to see the beer brewing process, taste several beers, and get a Troegs glass - all for $5.

I’ll start by saying the food is delicious- everything we ordered was fantastic (portions could be a little bigger). That being said- we don’t like how this place is set up. Servers come around for drink orders (alcoholic) but you go up to the counter to order food and pay for it- then take a tag that buzzes when it’s ready- and you go back up to the counter to get your food. We asked the drink server for water and he directed us to the self serve water dispensers… so we had to fill up 8 waters (no lids!) for the whole table and carry them all back across the restaurant to our table. We also had a situation where two kids orders were accidentally missed so we waited like half an hour for food that never came and had to reorder it. I get that it’s a brewery so they’re not focused on making it family friendly dining- but it’s a real headache when you’re just coming to sit down for dinner after Hershey amusement stress. A lot of your customer base is families coming for food, not just beer. At least have the servers bring the water. We stopped here a few years ago and felt the same way- didn’t plan to come back but there were others in our group who wanted to try it- they left feeling the same way! Change to a normal sit down dining experience and you’ll be good to go.

We are there last night, and the place was packed. Their beer is one of the best. We did get food last night because we couldn't find a table. But, the way you have to find a table and then order food from the snack bar is not the most customer friendly. We saw many families with little kids walking around with food in their hand trying to find a table, but the place was packed, and we felt so bad for them. PLEASE CHANGE THIS, JUST TAKE RESERVATIONS AND DO TABLE SERVICE!

A quick spontaneous trip to Hershey led us to Troegs and I'm so glad it did! We were able to book a tour which was awesome! Food was outstanding and the beer and service were equally as good! If you like beer do not hesitate to check this place out!!

We went to Troegs last night. Their parking situation is SO much better. I had not been there since they improved their Parking. I had the “If in Doubt” beer and I loved it! I even tried to buy some in their store and found out that they have not bottled it yet. I didn’t have my growler with me...darn. Guess I will be going back soon!

We were in town visiting Hersheypark and had no clue Troegs was here too! Amazing atmosphere with tons of indoor and outdoor seating, delicious variety of bar foods, a great selection in their gift shop, and of course, awesome beer. Particularly loved the Dream Weaver beer - it tastes like bananas! It was a great place to go the night before we went to the park and a great place to take a break from the heat in the afternoon. Will definitely go back if we travel to Hershey again!

One of the better brewery tours I've been on, including tours in Germany. You get to see how they do things up close and personal, and get close interaction with most of the ingredients. Good tour. Restaurant was not as good. Really good selection of beers including some only available at the brewery. But food was only ok, Roast beef sandwich lacked flavor, cheese plate was overpriced at $18, and only a small sampling of food is available in the loft. Main hall was noisy, and line to order was long. So good for beer and brewery tour, but not as good for food.

Wow...what an experience. So my situation is that I love beer and breweries but have a non-beer loving other half and a 5 year-old. Whenever we take little trips here an there I end up finding a family friendly bar/grill or a restaurant with a good beer selection. During our trip to Hershey I saw that Troegs was closeby and I love their stuff. Troegenator and anything they make that contains the word "elf" in it. The Mad Elf Ale that comes out around the holidays is a dream. Anyway I looked at reviews and noticed the large dining hall and well as a few mentions of "kids" and "Children". That was the green light for me. After a trip to the Hershey Chocolate Tour we arrived at the brewery at about 2PM on a Sunday afternoon. Upon entering the lot we were directed to a line of cars and simply waited as other left the parking lot and the workers directed us the fill those spots. The wait was about 10-15 minutes. I also would imagine that that was around peak hours and going earlier may shorten your wait. Upon entering there is a massive dining/seating area. Tables and counter tops all around as well as a bar area. There is a hostess ahdning out menus and even crayons and an activity sheet for the little ones, but you can sit where you like. Though the parking lot was full, we were able to find a table and there were others also empty. Immediately I noticed lots of kids (a particular group running around chasing rare Pokemon). Most of it is self serve. There is a server walking around taking drink orders, but as I missed him while getting food, I simply went to the bar and ordered my drink and paid for it there. I was asked if I had a tab, so I would imagine you can leave your credit card and run a tab with both food and drinks. The bar is stocked with lots of beer and had a great selection of hard to find Troegs beer. I paid $6 for a 7.5-8% pint of Naked Elf. There is a "snack bar" that sells lots of food ranging from popcorn, the chicken fingers, to french fries and even sandwiches, $10 for chicken fingers and fries, and $14 for chili cheese fries (massive). Once you order, you are given a buzzer. The buzzer works outside and throughout the brewery so feel free to explore while your food is prepared. About 15 minutes later our food was ready. Everything was delicious. Even looking around at the other tables, their food looked great. After we finished we did the self-guided tour which was efficient and informative. We didn't have the time to do the official tour but there may be samples at the end of the tour. Afterward we went to the General Store where they had lots of things. The typical shirts, souvenir glasses and of course, beer. But they also had soap and candles?! An overall great experience. The staff was very helpful and efficient throughout the entire time there.

Did not take the tour as I've been on a few and didn't have the time. Mainly came for the brew and food. It was a little difficult to figure out the tasting room and how to get a beer, but we "bellied up to the bar" and just ordered. Food was set up in a counter style, order, pay and get a remote notification device. Easy. Food is really different, this isn't just burgers and brew. Unique and tasty offerings. Prices was a little high for a lunch, giant pretzel and a fish wrap $28, but they were both really good! Beer was good, fresh and cold. Price for 3 tastings was $6. There is an outdoor area. Food, tasting, store and restrooms are on one level. Parking was a little difficult, but they do have people to help direct as there is some construction going on.

Trendy, family friendly atmosphere in brewery. Sit inside or outside at shared tables. Walk up to order food and drinks. Can do 3 beer tastings off their large beer menu. Offer upscale comfort food, but get there early as they run out of some items. Much better than eating at a chain restaurant in town!

The beer store is great- lots of options. There is a free tour you can take that is self paced and very cool. You can also arrange for a guided tour through different parts of the brewery. The tasting room is huge and low with a beer garden feel, and there is outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Love the atmosphere here! They have a wider range of their beers on tap here than what you can buy in bottles from the shop, and you can purchase a sampler of 3 beers for $6 to try a bunch! The snack bar has stuff to please everyone.... classic pub snacks and really imaginative and creative gastro-pub creations. Everything I’ve had here is delicious, and I love the brunch options. If you love beer and you’re anywhere near here, you need to put this on your list!

This is a place for beer, not for dining. Food is "concession-like." You order your food at the window and go pick it up when it is ready. "Waiters" come around and ask of you need something to drink.
The bratwurst was delicious. It had a great flavor. The brisket was juicy and tender. I ditched the bun and placed it on the accompanying fries with some BBQ sauce and ketchup. Very tasty.
Enjoy a flight so you can taste a variety of beers. If you are unsure, ask for a sample. I'm not a beer drinker, but the "waiter" was able to find something for me. Don't be afraid to ask for a sample; they are accommodating.

I have been to several breweries across the country and so far Troegs is still one of the better ones and nearly all the beer is good too. First some negatives. They may be priced a little high on their beers when buying by the glass. They are all $6 or $7. To me $5-$6 would be more reasonable. I know, a minor complaint but I am just talking from experience at other breweries and tap houses. Their 64 ounce growler refills are a good price though ($10-15). They have a very nice deck but the sun is brutal on the entire deck most of the afternoon on a sunny summer day. Not one bench was in the shade for a few hours.
The back room tour you can take is pretty good and you get a free glass (the tour was $5 and you have to sign up in advance) but I took it twice and the one time we got a lot of information and the next time not that much. Depends on your tour guide. You do get to taste beer so I am not complaining too much. There is a short free self guided walking tour which is actually pretty nice and informative. You can also sit back in that hall at a few tables if you want more privacy. On the opposite end of the beer hall there is a room with wooden aging barrels that can be rented for events and there is an art gallery there upstairs. Also you will find other bathrooms in that location. The main bathrooms are near the main entrance and the store.
It is not a quiet place and there is nothing for kids to do there although there is food (mostly gourmet type). It is built like a German beer hall somewhat, so it is cavernous with huge ceiling fans that can get windy. There are long tall tables near the bar area and it is a huge bar and there are regular tables for eating and more privacy at the back of the hall. As I mentioned the food is all good but it is gourmet food and not pub food so not all will like it. It is not cheap either.
When you enter the place you will find the store on your right. It is a nice store with great gifts to take home and most of the beer they bottle or can. When you go into the beer hall area you may be greeted buy a host who will give you a menu of the food and current beer. If they are not there the menus are and you need to get one. The beer itself is great beer and I don't think you will be disappointed. All of the out of town guests I have brought here totally love the place if they like craft beer. They all wanted to return. Last time I was there, there were maybe 6 or more beers that are ONLY on tap so you can get stuff that is not yet bottled and my never be.
The biggest issue is trying not to drink too much at this place because one tends to want to try it all. This truly is a must see place if you like drinking craft beer and are in town.

We booked our tour online in the morning for a 5:30pm time slot. Very nice and modern facility. Great ambience and they welcome you with a glass of 1 of 3 of their production beers right at check in. The Troeg's "Art Gallery" was very cool as it is a collection of competition "art" from current and previous years. The tour was one of the more thorough that we've experienced and our guide, Vernon, was very good and knowledgeable. We each got a free Troeg's pint glass at the end of the tour. We stayed after and had some food and more tasting in their bar/restaurnt area (see separate review).

I had to pick friends for type of visit but it was my adult daughter and I.
I highly recommend spending the $5.00 for the guided tour. If not for the personal tour for the 2 beer tastings. Our guide was awesome. He was actually one of the beer heads that volunteered time when the brewery was first starting.
After the tour you must stop for a bite to eat. This is not your average snack bar. Locals actually stop here for a beer and a meal. We shared beef tongue tacos, smashed potatoes and the porchetta sandwich. Everything was excellent.

I was in Hershey this past weekend to see the lights display and while researching things to do, this brewery tour came up. I would highly recommend going, it is only $5 a person for a 45 minute tour and at the end you get a Troeg's beer glass as a souvenir. We reserved our tickets online for 2:30, got there at 2:05 and parking was slim to none, had to wait maybe 10 minutes for a parking spot so I would recommend getting there at least 20 minutes before your tour time. Parking is free and our guide told us they are going to expand the parking lot in the future so that is nice! I would highly recommend checking out this brewery!!

Tries is an interesting combination of restaurant, bar and brewery. The atmosphere is fun and casual. The crowds are lively and seating availability is great. Food and beer are excellent. Staff very friendly, too.

I've visited Troegs several times over the last several years and it's been great. They seem to always be busy, which is a good thing, so if you're coming for a beer or food or both you definitely need to be in the mood for noise. Again, had a great time. No complaints; just an observation. My husband and I visited on a Wednesday before a concert at the theater. We left work early just to get to Troegs before it got too crowded. We arrived at 4 and we got a seat at the bar right away. We also got food right away. By 5:30 the crowd picked up and there were long lines for beer and food. The workers know how to handle it. They definitely have a system down. I enjoyed drinking some old favorites and trying some of the new scratch beers. While the food menu isn't very large, they do offer specials to change it up. It's worth a visit if you're into beer and are visiting the area, but overall it's not my favorite place to hang out.

Great lunch! Brisket Sandwich and Sourdough Flatbread were outstanding, as were the beer and jar tea! Great quality gift apparel too!

My wife dropped me off here before heading to the outlets. This was my third try at attempting to patronize this facility, as it was always so full I turned around and left. It was borderline this day as well, but I managed to find a seat outside until it emptied out just a tiny bit. Amazed how full this place stays all day long. Beer is amazing, self-guided tour is cute, gift shop is huge, and food was really good. Stayed about 3 to 4 hours, and was glad I had a designated driver by the time I left. Would highly recommend, but be prepared it will be crowded.

Love this place. Waiting in the line for table, then drinks, then food is a pain, but once you are settled, it is a great place to chill and wind down.

Thought I was just tasting craft beer and turned out to be much more. All the beer was so good. Drink my flight and ordered to glasses of the two best. The food was better than expected. My wife and friends went to the Outlets shopping and a few others took the Tour of the Brewery. The Tour was enjoyed. I would recommend if your in Hershey Pa stop by Troegs Brewery for a good time.

Very cool setup, and family friendly too! Stopped on a trip while traveling to Hershey Park with family and friends and decided to stop in for a bite to eat. Great kids menu and tours were available of the brewery as well. Beer selections were great and reasonably priced. Certainly a great place to stop while passing through the area!

Stopped at Troegs with the family for lunch before going to Hershey Park. The food, beer, and service were all great. The soft pretzels were delicious. As for the beer, I highly recommend "Naked Elf" and the "Gose" with raspberry.

Loved it the first time so stopped again when in Hershey. Neat place, friendly staff, walking tour interesting, great variety of brews

The tour was very good. I was a little hesitant about going after learning about the $10 tour fee and seeing how the brewery is such a tourist destination. No other brewery or distillery has ever charged me for a tour, with the exception of Jack Daniels in TN, but for the taste tour (worth it). I felt that the two sample beers and pint glass, though, justified the $10 price of the ticket.
The layout of the food and bar is so strange at Troegs, though. My girlfriend and I just wanted to try some of the scratch beers and get a bite to eat, which is what we always do at breweries. Besides the fact that the snackbars have strange menu options (picky eaters won't do well), there are two snackbars that serve different menu items.
We wanted a pretzel, but that was downstairs...and we wanted to order pizza, which was upstairs. We decided to skip the $11 pretzel and go upstairs, but the bar up there didn't serve the scratch beers (only served downstairs) and defeated the purpose of going to Troegs. The we were kicked out of the upstairs dining area and had to go downstairs anyways. It just didn't make much sense. Plus you have some waiters waiting on drinks, but not food? We couldn't figure out what their purpose really was.
The food and bar layout is as if there are three separate entities operating under the Troegs roof. While both my girlfriend and I are fans of some of the beers, we really didn't enjoy the experience past the tour. I was happy that I could fill up my growler, though, with Dreamweaver. That's a good beer.

Hungry and thirsty after doing some of the Hershey activities, the Troegs Brewery was the perfect stop. The host at the counter told us we could order beverages at the bar or wait for a server after we seated ourselves. After feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the choices of beers, we went back to the host and he helped us chose from the very large beer menu. We shared a flight and got to taste several beers. Food service is cafeteria style. You order at the window and receive a vibrating beeper when your food is ready. We shared a salad and some spicy cauliflower with peanut sauce. Both were excellent. While I am sure there were plenty of tourists there, it seemed to also be a popular place with locals as folks were coming in to get growlers filled. A very nice stop at the end of the day!

Troegs is in my backyard and I never thought to review it. The beers are exceptional, the food is sublime and blows away many restaurants. They have WiFi, a kid friendly menu, a gift shop, and they do tours. You can't go wrong here. Stop in, drink some, eat some, be dazzled

My husband loves Troegs' Nugget Nectar so we opted for the $10 tour when we visited. The tour was really good...our tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. We got to try some of the barley they use for brewing which I have never gotten to do on any other tour. We also got three beer samples on the tour, one of which hadn't been released yet.
The tasting room and restaurant area are huge and it's a good thing because it was packed! We arrived around 4:30 on a Saturday and had to wait in a long line to even get a beer, but the line did move fast. They have some beer at the brewery that you can buy in bottles that you can't get anywhere else. I recommend trying the "Wild Elf".
We also got dinner here and it was just okay and quite pricey for the portion sizes.
I would definitely recommend the paid tour and the beer, but would probably suggest you go somewhere else for any meals.

I was visiting Hershey for a work conference and stumbled upon Troegs Brewery. What a great place!! The atmosphere is open and welcoming. You can join the community tables for open conversations or chose a booth for more "private" experience. Our server was spot on with his recommendations--and he wasn't even 21!! The food was awesome! Huge portions and made to order! I am looking forward to going back and enjoying Troegs again!

Very disappointed after a long travel day! We ordered our food and drinks at 8:45 pm. Drinks are great, atmosphere is great! Pickup our food at 9pm from the snack bar, food is very good. And then.... We are told at 9:22pm that they are closing the doors in 5 minutes and we must leave. So wow! Feeling rushed and anxious we leave. Unbelievable, 27 minutes to eat have drinks and leave. Manager was very nice. It’s company policy, however do not go anywhere near this place after 8 pm or you will be kicked out before you can enjoy it!

We got a sampler and enjoyed a lot of the beers. You order food at a separate area (a counter off to the side) and they give you a buzzer to let you know when to come get your food. It's actually a great setup for a brewery. I just had a pretzel, but it was huge and really tasty! We liked the vibe and layout of this place a lot. There's also a self guided tour option that was cool to walk through on the way out.

I love the self-guided tours where you get to take a beer with you. This place is awesome! Nice gift shop and friendly people. At the bar, however, MAKE SURE YOU LINE UP IN THE MIDDLE. I stood at the far end for about 20 mins and made eye contact with several bartenders who never spoke to me, only to finally realize that the line is in the middle. Oops....

I’ve never had anything from Troegs before so this was my first visit and first taste of beer here. We walked in and the placed smelled great. We decided to head into the shop first to look around. The two guys behind the counter were very friendly and knowledgeable and answered any questions I had. Let me know to buy a flight since I wasn’t sure which beer I’d enjoy. They’re suggestions were my favorite so I bought some to take home. We did the free walking tour which was neat to see. Next time we’ll do the paid tour. I’m definitely a fan now and they have my business. We will be back soon!

We visited Troegs for the second time yesterday, and decided to go on their $10 guided tour. Our tour guide, Evan, was great! He was very knowledgeable, and easy to converse with. Upon checking in, we received a free 1/2 chalice of beer, and then we received a tasting of a beer that's been fermented but wasn't available on tap yet, and finished with a final tasting of one of their cork beers in their barrel room. We also received a free pint glass. The tour was a little over 45 minutes long, and was well worth the $10 fee for everything it included.
We then went to the tasting room and purchased a 4 beer tasting flight, and a grilled cheese sandwich from the Snack Bar. Seriously, if you go there, you MUST get the grilled cheese. It's amazing. We ended up leaving with a Growler fill of Raspberry Mango Shebang, a 6 pack of lager, (2) 4 packs of two different scratch beers, and a bottle of Mortal Cherry from their cork line. Everyone we encountered - every bartender, every cashier, both greeters, and an employee - was incredibly friendly.
Troegs has quickly become one of our favorite places to go, and we will continue to go there every time we are in the Hershey area. If you have time to do the tour during your visit, I HIGHLY recommend it! you won't be disappointed.

Stopped in to try beer. Very good brew and brought a unique growler home with us. Had a bratwurst on roll for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff was very helpful in choosing some of the favorite brews, Definately would recommend..

I'm not into the micro brews, but my husband is and has had many different varieties through the years so he was looking forward to this and it did not disappoint for him or myself for that matter. He reserved the 2:30 tour, we were early and decided to order some food. Not a huge menu but something for everyone. We had the black bean taco, Grilled Cheese (huge), crispy chicken thigh sandwich, egg noodles and hop fries. Nothing disappointed, highly recommend trying some of the food as it was all somewhat unique and delicious. He also sampled the Anthology Fall flight and it did not disappoint. As he went to take the tour, me and my boys did the self guided tour and walk through the gift shop. Take note you have to be 21 to do the guided tour, not the self guided tour. And it's only $5. He enjoyed it thoroughly and found it very informative. Interesting how the brothers started this brewery and how it has grown to where it is today. Something different to do while touring the Hershey area. Highly recommend if your into the micro brews and looking for some good eats too!

One of the best breweries I have experienced. The food was unreal, the beer was very good, and the service was fantastic. The place was busy, but they ran a smooth ship given COVID. Felt very comfortable and safe and welcome.

former warehouse converted to a brewery, Troeg's is a favorite of locals in a five county span in Central PA... and welcomes tourists in town for Hersheypark, concert "goers" and convention-eers.
a long bar of perhaps 20 seats in a row face the brewing tanks... industrial style "high top" tables with stools or stand and "lean in" to the conversations with friends.
Several smaller seating clusters but this is NOT a sports bar with cozy booths..
Not great acoustics... Thursday and Friday nights are packed and the noise level is high...
accessible for wheelchairs, strollers, walkers.
tour the brewing room.. it'll take five minutes!
gift shop offers gear and beer
outdoor seating...sort of family style long tables with large umbrellas... faces a pretty hillside, sorry, no Chesapeake Bay or Rocky Mountain views in Central PA.
beer...just their's! try flights to sample six brews. or stick with favorites like Dreamweaver or Troegenator... seasonal brews have faithful followers
families are welcome... bring coloring books and small toys, electronics... no playground or anything like that. families are outnumbered by gatherings of adults..you'll find craft root beers and such but don't expect to order a "COKE" or other global brand...
restrooms are at the entry way...
plenty of parking except on a concert night or around the holidays... then, parking at the outlet mall and walking 1/4 mile is the only solution.
menu.. season and artisanal... no regular old "burger"... food is deliciously prepared.
MUST HAVE $11.00 12" German style pretzel! so good with grainy mustard..
Sunday afternoon/early evening is our favorite time to go...sip away the end of the weekend after yard work, golf, Penn State game or catch up with busy friends.
NO TVS ! How great is that!!!

Unique delicious food menu with a fun atmosphere. I been to literally over 100 breweries and this is 1 of the best. Stay at The Suites at Hershey and walk right over !

It's entirely possible that even though I'm still technically a "millennial", that I am not cool enough to like this place. If you're a hipster who doesnt mind basically going to a restaurant and then doing all of the work as if you were at home then you may like this place. You'll walk in and be told to;
1. Find your own seat
2. Wait in the EXTREMELY LONG LINE to order food.
3. Wait in the shorter, but still very long line to get drinks.
If you ask, you'll find there's no diet soda, and no wine on premises, so drink beer or leave. This wasn't an issue for me personally but a bummer for my wife.
So after 20 mins waiting to find a seat downstairs we went to the tasting room upstairs where we cleaned our own table (shocker) and ordered pizza from the smaller upstairs menu. BTW, you still walk up and order this yourself as well, as there are no waiters (just food runners). There fortunately was no line for drinks here at least. After the food arrived we asked for plates, were met with much confusion, and 10 mins later told there were none. My wife asked for a fork and knife for my sons pizza, was pointed to the table where they should be to again retrieve them ourselves although at this point we kinda got the lack of service was part of the design. There were no knives and we were told it would be a while before they were clean.
The food was decent as was the beer, just not worth the hassle.
Needless to say, our next trip to Hershey will not include Troegs. We went to Lancaster Brewery and had the exact opposite experience so we'll go there instead.

We made an on-line reservation for 12:30 on the Thursday before Christmas. I called before booking, because I really didn't know our schedule. The man I spoke to said if we arrived earlier we could switch to the 11:30 tour. We ended up arriving a little before opening time at 11...and just as he promised since there were still openings on the 11:30 slot he switched us over. Parking is tight. Arriving a little before 11 was great-when we left it was packed! Guided tours are designed for 10 people, we had 8 on our tour. I recommend making a reservation so that you have a slot if you are wanting to go on the tour.
The tour was excellent. The brewery is very new and still shiny!! We had a glass of beer before the tour, at the end of the tour, and a small sample while on the tour. At the end we were given gorgeous Troeg's beer glasses. Solid glass...not the wimpy glass. All that for only $5.00...a definite bargain!
Following the tour we ate in the Snack Bar. Heaven...absolute heaven! It is a different set up than traditional restaurants. Beer and food are ordered separately by the guest, then pick a place to sit anywhere in the room. Lots of seating-but you will have the chance to meet new friends if you eat at the large tables. The food we ordered was exceptional...Braised Brisket was huge and delicious. The toasted cheese was the best I have ever had. Brie, American, and Cheddar on an extremely large sourdough bread. The popcorn had brown butter and rosemary salt...It was all way too much to eat, but not sure what we would have cut out! Really wanted to try the Oktoberfest Pretzel-but that will have to be another day.
Troeg's has a great little business going on in this location. Parking is a big issue-but we have heard they are addressing the issue. If you are thinking of going-before 11 is the easiest for parking, but if you come later just hang in there and wait for a spot. I assure you...it will be worth your wait!!

We were in Hershey for business and my husband has been wanting to go here. We fell in love. He said it was by far his favorite brewery he has been to and we have hit a ton. Great environment and love the smell of the mash cooking. Let's talk about the food...damn is it good. Everything we had was amazing but the pork belly appetizer stole the show. We love it so much we went back a week later when in town again for business. We had already tried another place for dinner and had regretted not going there again to eat. The rules that you have to order food with your alcohol to prevent from getting covid from only drinking a beer is suspect. We went from a place that .50 cent bag of chips is considered fine with your beverage but you can't order the $5 popcorn at Troeg's but you can buy the $11 soft pretzel and you are good...okay. Covid sucks but Troeg's doesn't. My husband loved it so much he had to take a case of beer home with him.
One of the most popular destinations in Hershey, PA. If you do not like to shop, send the spouse to the outlets right down the road and enjoy great beer, great food and take a tour of the facility to learn how they brew their beer.
