We often take our dogs here for fun walks. They also have great classes like gardening in the desert with exceptional teachers

this is a great place to take the family and go for a walk or hike. the park has a 1/2 mile loop around the lake as well as some trails off to the east and north. trails are pretty easy and friendly for adults, kids and pets.. there are some water features for the pups to cool off in during warmer months. Watch out for the Mosquitoes during the rainy period. Make sure you take plenty of water if you plan to go away from the lake.. Plenty of covered areas, picnic tables, and even some BBQs for you to use.. The Lake is stocked by the city and there are always some folks spending a relaxing time fishing.

I found this park very relaxing, it has a pond with ducks, some people are fishing, some are just taking a walk around , others are doing photo shoots, or just enjoy the nature and watching for the sunset. It is easy to find and about 15 minutes from downtown Chandler. Great for family with kids or elderly people.

I was originally dragged to this park to play Pokemon with my family. It turns out it is a nice park to walk in. I see a lot of people walking dogs but there are a lot of rabbits/birds to chase so make sure they are leashed please!

This park is peaceful and tranquil for a park in the city. Fishing is allowed. There are walking dirt trails which are beautiful that surround several small lakes. There is plenty of small wildlife to see ( rabbits, several species of bird, prairie dogs ducks etc. ) we always enjoy coming here to ride our bikes, walk with our dogs or fish in the lake. Also desirable for some really nice pics at sunset.

I didn’t know how big or wonderful this park was until I started walking in the cooler weather. After all this is Arizona! Walking around the water not sure what you call it a lake?, seeing pockets of water flowing over rocks and the desert landscape make the walks around the park even more interesting.

Add to that the number of poke stops, Pokémon and raid stops makes this a fun place for the family as well. Gotta catch them all!

A 2 mile walk goes by so fast it’s amazing!

My family visited this park on a sunny Monday afternoon. We had a very quiet, relaxing stroll around the man-made lake with our dog. Lots of people fishing (but I didn't see anyone with a caught fish). Half way around the lake I saw a large structure for the restrooms but I didn't see any working water fountains. Unfortunately my dog got stuck by some jumping cholla cactus so be careful walking with a pooch. The war memorial was new and interesting to visit.

If you're looking for a nice place to take a walk, fish, bicycle, or watch the sunset, this is a great place to do it. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful. We always meet such nice people there.

Hubby and I were in town from Salem, Oregon to visit grand- and great- granchildren who live in Coolidge. I reserved the Gambels Quail Pavillion for 4 hours online through City of Chandler Park Reservations site. Easy-breezy, less than $50 for the 4 hours, right on the man-made lake. Covered shelter with 6 large metal picnic tables. Beautiful and peaceful setting (after the Earth Day Event was over!) Playground, ducks, rabbits, birds galore to the amusement of my 4 great grandchildren - ages 4 months to 6 years old, (and my avid-birder hubby). And air-conditioned, very clean bathroom facilities for my comfort!

A really wonderful place for families with small children.

Veteran's Oasis annual Snow Day was a fun day for the kids and pet's to play in the snow! The park was crowded so get there early.

This park is beautifully laid out to mimic the solar system. Informative postings are along the route. Easy walking around a water feature.

This is a beautiful park constructed around a large fishing lake. The setting is beautiful and there are lovely trees and cacti and a number of birds and other wildlife such as jackrabbits. We walked the circuit around the lake which was easy going and the views of the Santan Mountain range were spectacular. Highly recommended.

This park has lots of walking paths, shelters, playgrounds and a nature center. We saw lots of birds (roadrunner, hawks, herons, ducks, etc) and a few hares and rabbits.

We have been going here for a few years. We moved but still visit here often. There are several trails that offer a large variety of trees, flowers, plants and wild life. There are so many different species if birds and coyote, rabbits, and falconers hanging out. A water feature with fishing, community building and nice public rest rooms. Sunrise and sunset are amazing hey're. There are also covered picnic areas. ...lol I love this place.

We spend the afternoon here with one of our sons and our grandchildren. We had a great time walking the trail around the lake. We were able to see many interesting birds, animals, fish and interesting plants. The museum inside was very entertaining. This is a great way to spend an afternoon.

This park is a real delight hidden within the sameness of the Chandler landscape. There is seriously something for everyone here. Education and recreation.

My dog loves it when we hop into the car and go to the park.
We walk around the perimeter a nice two plus mile walk.

This was beautiful! I was nervous to hike alone but it was really nice. I liked how there were several rest areas and shaded spots!

An actual fishing lake abounding in waterbirds sets this park above most, though yes of course you need a license to fish.
There's a nice playground, along with covered picnic areas, mostly level walking trails, a (not-very-high) scenic viewpoint, and includes several interesting exhibits in the main building.
It's also multifunctional: it returns treated wastewater (from the airport, as I understand) into five large, shallow reservoirs where it is allowed to sink slowly into the ground to replenish the aquifer. Only one had water in it when we visited.

A beautiful park, spacious and well thought-out with a large variety of landscaping that makes every space unique. There is a very large riparian habitat at the far end that's also nice for a quite walk. It's intended for bird-watching, and there are birds, but it needs some attention from a specialist because the random inclusion of plants is not drawing birds like the Water Ranch park in Gilbert.

I love this park! Although it offers limited distance for walks, you do get to climb a couple of hills overlooking nearby neighborhoods and farmland. The hillsides have a nice representation of desert shrubs, and the lake (encircled by a paved path) provides a cooling contrast on hot days. I've seen people fishing, but I don't know what they're catching.

My husband and I absolutely love this little park. It has great hiking trails for beginners and for people who like to take a stroll. All the trails loop so you can keep walking to your hearts content. There is a small man-made lake that you can fish out of (guidelines are posted) and an activity center (not open 24 hours). There are public restrooms that are kept clean so you don't have to worry there. Also, there are plenty of gazebos and grills so you can picnic. And for you Pokemon Go players there are a lot of stops and a couple of gyms to hit.

Nice paved walking trails and nice spots to sit and watch the water and birds. Wish I was able to spend more time there but it was a toasty day and was was not yet ready for the heat.

We were driving in this area when we saw this park and decided to stop. I'm so glad we did! It is so nice. People were fishing at the lake. Lots of people walking their dogs. Nice hiking trails. Wish we had free parks like this in Ohio! Great visit

The title says it all. A bunch of different paths to take around the park but don't worry you won't get lost. No hike is to tough, good for everyone

By Rich M |

This is a great park to stroll around the lake or the many paths throughout. go at sunset for a awesome, colorful view and the sun sets over the lake.

Nice trail for 1-2 mile walk. The park also has a restroom which is a bonus! Trails are groomed and an easy walk.

We are from Illinois a declining and broken state And if it were not for Love of our children we wouldn’t be there. So we were so jealous when we toured this park took a walk around the lake and saw wildlife native to Arizona. What a wonderful park with walking trails-fishing -birdwatching -picnicking and from what we could see it appeared to be a safe area if we were to have a park like this in our city in Illinois it would be ruined within six months what a beautiful area the people who live here are blessed highly recommended we spent about an hour and a half in in the park it had restrooms but they’re not the cleanest other than that it was wonderful

My wife and I walk here quite a bit. You can make it as long or short a walk as you want, the trails are kept open, we have seen plenty of wildlife and scenery.
You can also fish there, they have Ramadas and a visitor center.

It’s a great place for a walk with an easy loop trail, also with a nice lookout of the San Tan mountain and valley.

A beautiful uncrowded park to do a lot of walking and watching wildlife..
I usually go there very early in the morning, it is not too hot at the moment.

This is a great place for all age groups. Walking paths are paved and you can walk as much or as little as you wish. Nice little lake there that we fished with our young nephews. Did not catch anything but they had fun. Nice place to spend a morning or afternoon.

Love this park! Lots of wild life without going too far away! My daughter and I walk here often and love all the bunnies and nature!

This park is fairly close to home, and has great walking trails. The upkeep is excellent, and there's good urban fishing there. Good place to take the kids and let them enjoy the outdoors. Good photo opportunities, too. Recommend it.

By Larry K |

They put on evening concerts out by the lake. Chandler has built a hugh, very impressive lit display of the American Flag that is a must see at night.

A neat city park that has functional aspects. Lots of good hiking trails, well done desert landscape. I also thought the orchard was very interesting.

By LEEODI S |

Such a beautiful park. We went there to take family pictures and saw lots of other families doing the same! There is a beautiful Creek and a gorgeous lake!

For pictures it's great! For little kids to play, there's not a ton to play on but they can explore the Creek;

We have been coming here since the park opened. It is a great place to bring your dog to get some exercise and for yourself. There are many different trails you can take throughout the park, each with different views and elevations. Wonderful place to view wildlife especially in the early morning hours.

Wonderful outdoor park with large lake and lots of ducks. Various birds throughout the park. Great spots for birdwatching and photography. Various plants. Area for fishing the stocked lake but need Arizona Fishing license. Also has an indoor nature center that is small but very educational, we spent about 1.5hr there.

This park was just beautiful . We did a 1.5 mile walk. We came back another day because we had missed the veterans dedication memorial and they were having a service for all the veterans that day. It was lovely.

i originally discovered this place when I was trying to find a variety pf places to walk my new dogs. Love this place so much, It has a multitude to offer. A stocked pond, waterfalls, raised ramada, covered ramadas, great hiking trails, and so much more.

Bathrooms are clean and roomy, the parking lot is convenient for loading if you host an event. never have to walk the smae path too many times, as they all intersect,

Great walking trails with natural botanicals to look at. Very peaceful place to spend time walking and picnicking.

Beautiful free park, terrific place to walk around lake, read about vets and their families, enjoy trails, kids can play in sand. Watch out for cacti just off the trails (one walker told us about her dog and wandered into a cactus and had to go to vet to get a spike removed)
Extensive free parking.

Very calm lovely place. Great place for people of all ages

It has a nice size lake, where people fish. Small mountain (maybe hill) which as a decent view, good walking/biking trail.

We saddled up our dogs and headed to the Veterans Oasis Park to check it out. We've been very impressed with the park system in the Phoenix suburbs, and Veterans Oasis was equally complementary. There is plenty of parking and a plethora of hiking trails, both paved and well-maintained gravel. We saw a variety of birds, bunnies, and those long-eared jack rabbits. There were several people fishing in the lake, and they were very friendly when we stopped to chat with them, finding one who is from our home state and still has ties in cities we're very familiar with. Take a long walk or a short hike, and you'll be happy you stopped at Veterans Oasis. Climb up some of the taller hills to get a good view of the surrounding countryside. Also, although we didn't see them during our visit, there are signs indicating the areas that are burrowing owl habitats. Happy hiking!

Rode my bike from my home to the park and biked around the trails. It was a great relaxing time and allowed for times of riding and relaxing.

This place is awesome. Great walking trails and wildlife. Went here while on vacation with my wife and visiting our son.

This is a great place to walk in the early mornings or evenings. There are plenty of rabbits, coyotes, and various bird species everywhere.

By vite44 |

It was a good idea to go here, some people were fishing and we talked with a man and his wife. He had a nice rainbow in his bucket. The small bunnies my wife enjoyed and just sitting and relaxing in the sun.

This is one of the nicest city parks I have been to in a long time. There is truly something for everyone here. From the open but covered picnic tables with grills, to hiking and jogging paths, great sidewalks for younger children riding tricycles to a beautiful lake that is stocked for fishing. We arrived to meet a photographer for a multi-generational (4 generations) family picture. There were plenty of places for us to go for different backdrops and plenty of places to sit and relax while others were having individual family shots taken. We never felt crowded and look forward to returning to this amazing location to enjoy the facility. Parking is free. There is no charge for fishing but a fishing license is needed by AZ law and is not available for purchase at the park. Size and number limits for each type of fish are clearly posted. Bring a picnic, bring a camera and have a great day at this wonderful location.

Visiting our son who recently moved to Chandler and were looking for local places to see. So glad we found the Oasid. Beautiful and relaxing for a senior walk during the day. Went back several times. One of our favorite things to do.

Plenty of great education opportunities for children and families in a beautiful indoor and outdoor setting.

Very nice park in the city with a good size lake for fishing. Very scenic, tranquil and relaxing. Good for hiking, biking.

We found this place in one of the tour booklets in the condo. We like to do hikes, this was a short one really, but had some good cactus and butterflies/hummingbirds, other birds to see. There is an easy cement walk around the little lake and they also have dirt paths and maintenance roads that offer more of a walk, which is what we did.

This park is located in SE Chandler. A nice little park that takes advantage of the process of recycling irrigation water. It has a little lake where fishing is permitted and an section where 4 or 5 areas are flooded with water from time to time in the recycling process. Only about 1 and a half had water when we were there.

It is a nice birding opportunity and there is a really good educational center. There were several school classes at the park the day we went.

Its a great place where you can go out and walk on nice trails for as little or as much as you want. The trail around the lake is completely accessible (concrete path).

Saw many bird species including egrets, herons, and hummingbirds.

This would be a great place for a walk every day. We'd definitely go back....and its free.

Great walking, running and biking trails. Looks of desert wildlife and birds. An Audabon Bird refuge.
