1 of 17 Best Attractions in Davenport

This center is very attractive and full of information for those travelers and newcomers to Florida. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable of the area and will send a representative to speak to community groups.
Our packets were attractive and packed with helpful information, a map, along with a fresh cup of orange juice to help introduce or refresh our Florida Travelers.

Get discount tickets to all parks. In addition to that, Staff is super helpful with tips on how to get even more discounted prices. They are knowledgeable on all activities young on in Central Florida and have tons of suggestions for all age groups. Excellent customer service

If new to area this is a must. Loads of information and helpful staff. There is a pond out back and displays inside including Sports Hall of Fame. Clean restrooms too.

We stopped there to get a few information about the area. But i took a lot of time until we received them. The informations are helpfull - but the waiting time was too long.

We use the Visitor centre quite often, and find the staff knowledgable and helpful.
If they dont have the answers to hand, they go the extra mile and find them for you.
It is also possible to check in and print your boarding passes for return flights at this facility, which is great ..Great selection of brochures for the area and at times possible to buy discounted park tickets all of course completely above board.

Staff is friendly and very knowledgable about Davenport and the surrounding area, from the Theme Parks to Ft. Myers Beach 3 hours away. They were very helpful and many are volunteers.

wonderful things to help you find out about the area, you will be very surprise on what you fill find here.

Friendly service and a lot of information on what to do in Central Florida besides theme parks! Be sure to go out back and sit by the pond. Its a nice spot to take a break. Also, the Thursday Farmer's Market is great! This facility is located near shopping and restaurants as well.

This information center is very helpful & clean. They have information on all attractions in this area. Could help you with where to golf, eat and good prices on admission tickets. Plenty of brochures on things to do & local sites off the beaten path.

It is right in our front yard and yet have not stopped in there for many years. We were surprised to find an abundance of information available plus a great little museum to learn more about sports people in Florida. Allow time to look through the exhibits and learn more about Florida.

This is an interesting place to visit. There are discount tickets available to some of the area attractions plus a lot of history to view. I enjoyed the time I spent there.

is you visiting Polk county this is a good place to get information ,see a movie of the county, enjoy a little simulated golf course for the kids ,our grandson love to go here he is five and see the fish lagon in the back

The ladies were very helpful and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make sure we had all the info we would need. The store had a great selection of gifts and we are planning to stop by again soon!

Popped in to get ideas for tourist trips as a release from theme parks. Lovely lady took time to give us information about different places to visit and events to attend, willing to share info with you about certain places, such as St Augustine.

A nice rest stop and information representative of our area. Farmer's markets there add interest on certain days. Well kept and interesting.

Has a weekly flea market, a sports hall of fame, discounted tickets, and lots of information in a family-friendly environment.

Lots of good information about central Florida and Polk County. They have many flyers and other information to make your stay enjoyable.

I went onto the live chat to get some info on old towns and historic places to visit during our stay coming up in July. Laura was very helpful and offered Lots of advice and info. She is sending us some brochures out of places to visit. Couldn't recommend using these guys enough
Thank you Laura
Andy

This is one of the best free services we've found. We live nearby but often have out of town family visit, so we frequently visit to gather information. Friendly staff & great free information.

They were a great resource for recommending places to visit and providing pamphlets to pass on to other visitors at our condo.

Great information center for what is happening in Central Florida, Tickets, events, resturants and much more.

I stopped by out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised. In addition to attraction tickets and so forth, there is a nice display of central florida history and attractions. This is a good place to kill some time and is also great for kids.

If you are visiting Central Florida for the 1st time, then you need to stop by here for tickets to some attractions, information on the area and free Florida orange juice.

This is not the biggest info center I've been to but it certainly was the most helpful. We stopped mainly for restrooms after fighting Orlando traffic but took time to look though the gift shop and the Florida sports hall of fame. We also took time to pick up brochures and maps for places we were going the rest of the week. I didn't pay for a gps in the rental and accidentally left my state map in the motel so it would have been a frustrating trip without getting another one. The Tampa and Sarasota areas were a little out of the Polk County/central Florida area, but the staff members were still very knowledgeable and helpful. One lady had just been to the place we were headed a few days earlier so was able to give us detailed and helpful directions and tips. She even printed out driving directions for us and gave us menu tips.

We went to this visitor center several times over a two month period to find out about activities in the surrounding area. They were always very helpful . They had a Farmer's Market on Thursday. Also were able to purchase tickets to events ahead of time which was convenient.

This is a great place. Lots of information, maps, discount tickets and a very helpful, informed staff! There is a little Florida Sports museum and store that sells Florida related or made products. On Thursdays they have a farmers market. We stopped the first time we came to central Florida to look at house. Have been back several times!

Stopped by on a hot day in May 2016 and was pleasantly surprised. There was a internet-connected PC available AND also a station for taking/sharing/emailing photos AND a re-charging station. There were at least two "gators" for photo ops and a pet bass in an aquarium. A fish pond and a putting green outside and a Florida sports hall of fame on the inside.

Great suggestions for where to hike and experience local Florida sites. The staff was very friendly and quickly figured out what information we were looking for. We took their advice to visit the Circle B Bar Reserve today and loved it!

It's easy to miss, but slow down and turn in. The knowledgeable staff will help you with your questions about things to do around the Davenport/Central Florida area. You will be surprised how many things there are to do around here.

We stopped in here in April as I like to gather new info on the area my kids moved to 8 mts ago. Such a VERY friendly staff. Listened to what we were looking for and provided ideas and info guides. Free samples of local fresh made orange juice. A small museum on Florida sports heroes. Nice, clean bathrooms. A small play area to let the kids let off steam. A quiet deck to relax on for a few minutes. There is a machine you can take your picture and email it to someone. And of course a small gift shop with local items, postcards and some snacks and drinks. On Saturdays there are a few vendors in the parking lot. Really a must stop for info, brochures and recharging.

We went here as we wanted to try and plan other activities other than the money Pitts of universal and Disney. An older gentleman ran through all our options, giving us orange juice as a sampler in between our discussions. He knew he’s information very well and helped us plan out many activities.
What an amazing tourist office, far better than those in the the UK

We've stopped there twice to get information about universal studios and Disney and both times they were very friendly and helpful.

We use this location on a regular basis. It is packed with interesting things to do and places to go. The staff are over friendly and nothing is to much trouble. They will sort out your trips and print off your directions. Many places say they are a tourist office but when you get there they offer cheap tickets etc. This is a genuine tourist board office. There are even video films to watch of the area. There are leaflets with local attractions that you would never normally get to know about i.e. Indian Pow Wows and local theatres. This week for example a Mardi Gras at Lake Wales. For all information to make your holiday complete this is a must visit place.

This weekend I was a vendor at the visitor center in Davenport. The weather showed little chance of rain but Mother Nature decided she was going to try and rain on our parade. Most vendors left after their rents went flying and all their stuff got wet and some of us hug out. I do have to say the staff at the visitor center didn't hesitate one bit to help us and make sure we were safe. In the pouring rain they stepped in and grabbed tents, took tents down, loaded cars all while the crazy weather was going on and didn't give up. It was sure a crazy day but glad to have people around that cake together and made it so much better!

This place is run in conjunction with the Central Florida Visitor Information Center and it is a wonderful place to visit. Here you will learn all you need to enjoy your visit to the area. I highly recommend it.

Make sure to plan to spend a little time there when you go. There's a lot of great information. Staff very helpful. The displays are amazing. There are fish both indoors and out. Fun to find the outside fish in the pond. The Orange Juice is excellent! My husband loves old and new boats. The old one is nice to see. I left with a big bag full of brochures, magazines, a great map, and several coupons. The place is spotless clean. Nice rest rooms. Cute little gift area. Please stop and enjoy all they offer.

Our main reason for visiting the centre was to get paper maps of the area we were staying in. We wanted to find other was to get around, other than using the I4 - which was usually quite congested. The ladies there were extremely helpful. They even googled maps and printed them out for us. It was worth the "explore" to find the place. They even have a small museum on-site, and a back porch habitat!

Great place for information.... and very pleasant and informative !!! Will recommend this place to all that ask.

We expected to find maps and brochures but there is so much more here. A mini museum of Florida sports legends, a little history of the area and a nice back porch with a pond.

I'm a resident here now, but when I use to come to this area years ago this place was a great resource. They introduced us to great restaurants and information about the area, including population, hurricanes, places to visit and discounts. I would definitely recommend this place for visitors from out of state that are new to the area.

We were helped by very friendly people at the information centre. They explained us what we could visit in the area, ehich were the best golf courses and where we could get an electric cart for our grandmother to come along with us on the longer days.
We did however, not buy our tickets here, as turned out they were cheaper on the attractions website. This might be due to seasonal discount the parks are giving, but it still struck us as odd.

Staff was great, very helpful, the sports museum was interesting with great displays. I would recommend this as a first stop if you are in the area

Love the events they host there and the farmers markets. I really enjoyed the Fall Festival and the Spring Training event.

Had a great time to the weekly farmer’s market the other day! Nice and clean area for my toddler. Inside it was nice and cool with pleasant staff.

My family and I talked with Laura Moore, and she was helpful, quickly orienting us to what were the can't-miss things to do and see. Thanks!

This is a great place to get information, especially on Central Florida area. The people who staff the center are very knowledgeable and friendly

We stopped here to buy tickets for the mystery sleuth dinner theater. We saved about 20$ per ticket. The workers were very helpful and called the theater to confirm reservation. The place itself was very clean and had a gift shop and a museum . They also have discount tickets to the parks and other attractions but not big discounts. We will use this place again.

My husband and I arrived at the villa we had been re-allocated to just the day before. The villa we had chosen and booked for 9 nights had unfortunately had a flood. The re-allocated villa was totally unsuitable and certainly not worth the money we had paid up front prior to leaving the UK. It was 2pm in the afternoon and our daughter her husband and two young children were arriving at the re-allocated villa early evening.
The management company we had booked the initial villa with did not have any other villas they could offer us other than the re-allocated villa which was totally unacceptable
So we arrived at the Visitors Centre 4 adults 2 young children looking for accommodation for the next 9 nights. The help and support they gave us - the hospitality, internet access and telephone calls the entire service was just excellent.
All of the staff tried their very best one particular gentleman called Denis actually came back from his lunch early to help us. We gathered a lot of information from them which did lead to us securing a lovely villa in Indian Ridges for the full 9 nights. We were still there at 5pm when they were due to close but we were not rushed out at all.
Thank you to you all for all the care you showed us and all the care you put into your work

Many of the advisors are volunteers so you get some excellent 'local' advice and guidance. We also bought tickets to Kennedy and Medieval Times at rates much better than seen in 'coupons' and 'on-the-door' (tickets for lots of other venues also available).
Very friendly environment, lots of info to hand, good array of maps, etc. Open every day and easy access, easy to find. As said, well worth a visit !

Most information centers are helpful people with lots of paper. Never been to a visitor center like this! Spent almost an hour wandering around the sport hall of fame, gift shop, on the boardwalk by the pond trying to see the visiting otter, and checking out local options. Bringing the teens back Thursday for the farmers market and the hall of fame.

Very helpful and lovely staff. Bought our Disney tickets here for the family and it was so easy, personal and local to where we were staying. The Disney day tickets were actually cheaper than Walmart, which given we were buying tickets for 6, did add up to a sum of saving. Recommend.

If you are anywhere near Davenport stop here. The people are great! Friendly, helpful, and interesting. Nice start to our vacation

The hostesses there are so very helpful, especially if you ask for their help in finding things that interest you. They can tell you about local events coming up as well area State parks, tourist attractions, hotels, bed and breakfast, camping, hotels, restaurants, etc. A wealth of information. Nice clean restrooms, candy, souvenirs, free brochures galore. Good to check in often and see what's going on in the area.

Was looking for child friendly and inexpensive places to take our grandchildren during our visit and popped in here on the off chance. Great staff pointed us in the direction of some lovely community play areas that we would never have found. Thank you!

Clean rest stop and convenient to highway access..maps and information available..dog area and picnic area..

friendly knowledgeable staff with lots of information available located right off of I4 easy in and easy out. Also have a farmers market there every Thursday.

This is basically a tourist information center but it is like a museum inside showing the history of the area in interactive areas
They have plenty of information on all the things you can do and are really friendly staff who answer all your questions
Unlike some tourist information places this is not a timeshare place and they do not try and sign up to go on a 2 hour tour of any place
It is worth stopping in as you may discover there are places to visit other than the theme parks in Florida ( there really is life beyond Disney)
They can also help you with accommodation and recommend places to see and stay
Worth popping in you will come away more informed

Facility contains a Polk County Sports Hall of Fame, pond with Florida aquatics and gift shop with Florida products. Discount attraction tickets are sold there and the pride in the offerings of the area is very evident!

We where told before we went that the Information centre would be able to help us but was blown away of how proud of there State of Florida, these employees are!
They offered us all the information we needed and more besides, with tips on which roads to take as not to be held up in traffic, where to purchase the cheapest tickets to all the attractions, the best places to get the best meal for your $, they treated you as if you where very important to them, and offering you a glass of fresh squeezed orange 🍊 juice while you talked they also showed interest in where we where from also! Very impressed

This place has a lot of information on local thing to do. Enjoyed the 12 Days of Christmas. Laura and Savannah were a lot of fun talking to they are very knowledgeable about the area.

Very helpful, the staff that gave us maps, good information and hospitality. Nice outside area for those with small children that need to stretch their legs. Bonus was geocachers were able to swap items at the TB Hotel located their.

Last day visiting and we didn't know where to go. The staff was very helped, gave us a lot of options, and pointed us in the right direction. The only bad thing was i wished i had came by here 5 day earlier. Please dont make my mistake

The center is a great place to look for things to do in the Central Florida area. You can find many sources to plan your adventure. They have brochures, maps, and more importantly a knowledgeable staff who are ready to assist in finding the right things to do according to each family or person's needs.

Friendly helpful staff advising you on the best and reasonable options. Worth calling in if you are not certain

Great place to get information. The people who work it are super friendly and knowledgeable especially Harriet

Very helpful staff who advised us on airboat rides, and an interesting place in and of itself with a deck with armchairs by a fish pond and a golf putting green. They have some nice gifts and a Farmers' Market in the parking lot every Thursday.

Here there is a small museum collection, a mini golf hole and other very interesting things. It's just a small place, but it's really worth the time it takes to check it out!

We often stop at the visitors center to refresh, fill our water bottles, get some Powerade or other beverages, snacks, local items. Pleasant place, educational garden, clean and nice bathrooms, and mainly great people working there!
Great option to stop and get information of the area, too.

Staff helpful. Lots of information. Little market set up outside. We needed another map of Florida and got one. Pretty much what you would expect of a facility like this.

Very convenient location excellent place for info about local attractions for all age groups kids on up from theme parks to gardens etc.

The Visitors Center is a great place to visit and find out so much about Polk County. We are enjoying finding things to do around the county besides amusement parks. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Stop in and check out the Florida Sports Museum, fish pond, phone charging station, gift shop (with lots of local goodies) and if you have a Polk County Library card, they have vending machines with library books and dvds to check out.

Before you begin your visit to Central Florida, this would be the place to start. The center offers hands-on-activities as well as a professional concierge staff who is knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you might have about your visit to Florida. This site can also advise you on purchasing discount tickets to many Florida attractions. There is a souvenir gift shop on site and a gigantic fish tank to "Wow" the children (and adults). The Central Florida Visitor Center is the place to begin your Central Florida Experience.

Stopped by for a little info -- got a whole lot more! Woman was very helpful and gave us directions we wouldn't find on any map that were much nicer than highway driving. Nice!

Always good to visit to find out information in the local area, staff always very helpful and a wealth of knowledge.

Unfortunately we never had time to visit the Central Florida Welcome Centre simply due to our diary visits being too full, as one would expect when trying to cram in all the wonderful adventures Florida holds.
However we met up with people who had visited and said, by far it was well worth their visit as it's a 5star relaxing place with staff that cannot do enough to help. As we had not visited I can only provide a 4star rating based on the knowledge gained by the discussions held with other's. So I apologise in advance for 4 verse 5stars but believe this is solid testament to a well run and great place to visit.

This is a gem not to be missed, just of Highway 27.
Open until 5PM, you will always receive a warm and friendly welcome.
Information available on all the major attractions as well as those off the beaten track.
The Centre features a section on Florida's sporting legacy amd this is well worth a look with interesting facts and photos.
You can also have a game of putting and to the rear is a seating area where you can view fish, who are always looking for a tit-bit.
The Centre will provide access to the internet and allow you to print off your boarding passes for your return flights.
They provide discount attraction tickets and there is also a small souvenir shop.
If in the area pop in and have a chat the staff will be only to happy to assist you.

What a joy and relief to find this gem of a place tucked away just next to where my family and I were staying in Davenport, Florida on an extended family vacation. Ms. Jeanie Baier was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and very honest. You can expect her and her colleagues to discuss attraction options in a way that doesn't put pressure on you to buy tickets from them, or take up their suggestions. They are a Polk County government entity and are to be distinguished with the private organization of a similar sounding name that you see on I-75 South heading to Orlando. Jeanie and I ended up talking about more than just Disney's Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, and other top tourist attractions. One of the gems that you don't often hear about (Circle B Nature Preserve) was one such place they recommended. My family and I had a blast, not to mention that this was totally free. They do sell discounted tickets, but for Disney, they add an $5 service fee. I personally would pay this fee, or even double the fee, any day of the week. This speaks volumes of the personalized service my family and I experience from Jeanie and her colleagues. Skip the online reviews and recommendations, don't waste time spinning your wheels and getting very little mileage out of what's available online. Make this your first stop. The few hours you spend here will be very worth it. It sure was for my family and I.

Volunteers always very friendly and helpful. If you have any questions about Florida this is the place to visit. Maps, accommodations, attractions in Florida the Visitors Center has the brochures.

Able to give me information on what I was looking for. Brochure and map. Visitor center has exhibits and events.

Very informative. Free orange juice samples. Wonderful staff that are very knowledgeable about their state.

A great tourist information centre for Polk county and a great little sports hall of fame and once a week they have a farmers market

This is the place to get a program of happenings ans things to do in Central Florida, concnetrated on Polk County. They tell you where to go and nswer all your questions. They also sell tickets to all the different venues.

If you are in central FL traveling through I4 from Orlando to Tampa or Vice versa, this is a must stop, great info bout Everything in FL, Dont miss it...

Dennis is very knowledgeable about the Florida attractions and assisted me in identifying those of interest to me and within my budget. I had an excellent experience while visiting the Central Florida's Visitor Information Center today.

The centre was easy to find and access by car and the two girls who helped us, Laura Moore and Jennifer Oney, were very friendly and knowledgable. They gave us lots of information on the area and also advised on what to avoid too!
We decided to purchase our attraction tickets from them which was easy and straightforward.
Would certainly recommend!

Our Tour Bus headed to Ft. Meyers stopped here for us to use the restrooms and visit the Center. What I did not expect was the wonderful greeting from the staff: Laura (Moore), Dennis (Buddy) and Emily (Marshall). They were so awesome offering some great information about our area and the Center. I plan to visit again in late October.

What a lovely place we have here in Florida to provide information about places to go, directions, places to see, everything you could ever want to know is here under one roof. The people are such wonderful help, very polite and consumer friendly. Take a stop next time you are in the area, you will definitely be glad you did. I rate our Visitor Center a 5 out of 5. Way to go Florida!

Anything you want to know about places to go, restaurants to eat, hotel accomodation, recreation activities, and multiple other attractions in central florida; the central Florida's Visitor information center is the place to go; very conveniently located across Posner Park on Highway 27, it is very easy to reach;

Great find, people were friendly and informative about the area. They were having a farmers market day we were there. Good selection of brochures and maps! Worth a stop!

Very friendly employees and a lot of information to make your central Florida visit even better! I mentioned Legoland and whether it would be a place to visit as an adult without children. The man there told me about things there which sound very neat. Next time, I will visit Legoland based on his opinion. They also were very helpful to choose a good restaurant in the area. Very clean and welcoming.

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch and buy a sun pass.got lost, and ended up being looked after by Laura Moore and Jeanie Baier- after a great deal of messing about on the computer, they sorted us out , and waved us on our way. They could not have been more charming and helpful. Totally lifted our spirits and kept calm in a very fraught situation. Sunpass is run by idiots . Thank God for these two ladies !

Flórida is just amazing as it is without doing anything in particular but this state has plenty free options and variety of paid attractions for any possible adventure needed. You can find any possible type of information and maps and you’ll run out of time to do your best pics.

Decided to buy 2 adult 2 children medieval times tickets. Got delayed by two hurricanes and then car wreck. Got misled by medieval times and did not get refunded. Then Justin lefler or whatever his last name is would not refund my base ticket cost. Stating that I would have to call the ticket office of their group. Phone 407-396-9020. Listened to the silver tounged one tell me they were not involved. And that I would just lose the money.
Buy tickets from these people at own risk and only if on way to park. Even if only had credit would have been fine. These people are rascals and if you buy from them use tickets immediately.

The staff at this Visitor Center cannot be stumped. They are knowledgeable and professional and always cheerful and ready to help. I visited them on 3 occasions and used their professional services on 2 other occasions by phone. Each time I was served by someone different but always with the same friendly energy and accurate information -- from Disney to Universal to kids playgrounds, Legoland, golf courses, etc. Very much appreciated.

I asked about a particular attraction and was given the appropriate paper work with prices and their discounted price. Also given paperwork on an upcoming event at the information centre plus a map of Florida.

Talked to Dennis who has been there for several years. Was happy to point out many sites to see and things to do and places to eat. Very friendly and we will go back again if we have any more questions.

When travelling to central Florida the info center just off the junction of I 4 & highway 27 Davenport Florida is the best place to find out info on the activities, golf & attractions nearby.

If you're looking for discounts, this place is a must-go-to. A friendly and helpful duo, are there to guide you to the best deal for your needs. They offer great knowledge on rides, peak times when and when not to go, and routes to avoid traffic.
Overall great experience. Do not overlook this place, it is very worth visiting and you will find all the help you will need to maximize your vacation experience.
-visitors from Canada

We have dropped in here several times over the years. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. There is a small Central Florida sports museum as well which I found very interesting. This year we were able to get BOGO tickets for Legoland. Seems they have a special day twice per year for this and we took advantage of it.

This location was very helpful to a large visiting group from Maine. I called ahead to make sure of their hours and was also directed to a very helpful web site.
Because I was so close I went by to chat with
"locals"
All information provided was very helpful and helped us to discover local favorites.
Thank You

Dennis and his team are very friendly and helpful with assistance and local advice it's amazing just what they know.We also call in to see what is going on in the area and have never been let down, thanks guys, see 👀 you next trip.

The center is spacious and has many interesting things to look it can amuse the children while booking and planning the vacation and also you can get many useful brochures for a big varieties of places in orlando, offers are also available we got a differences in the prices, this is my fifth time here to get my family’s theme parks tickets, the people are so friendly and helpful, especially Mr. Dennis budde he gave us a lot of information about the area and nature around there with a big smile, highly recommend you to visit it.

Very informative for visitors and residents. They also have local grown vegetables and fruits. You can help local farmers.

Just spent half an hour at the Visitor Information Centre. We always call in on our visits here as they have so much information and are always very happy and pleasant. Thanks Diane Murphy and Laura Moore - good luck with the water skiing!!!

GREAT staff
VERY helpful Lots of information available. Saves alot of time and phone calls
They have a back deck to relax and go over the books and maps.

Dropped by to gather up some information as it was our first visit to the area. The premises are very clean and the staff went above and beyond to get you appropriate brochures and answer your questions.

Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We have visited this center several times and always walk away surprised at the courteous, professional service.

Friendly staff and interesting displays especially the fish and baseball memorbilia.Lots of handouts and some Florida items for sale.

We went there on the first day of our holiday and got first class service. The two women at the desk spent a lot of time with us advising us what to do - and what not to. A must for anyone wanting a steer on planning your trip to central Florida. And you get delicious orange juice!

It has a lovely pond in the back that I think could be a lot prettier or maybe a little interactive ... a big tank inside with just one fish - again, could be a much bigger attraction ... gift shop is nice and reasonable, but small. Staff is friendly. Sports stuff is on display (historical sport's jerseys, etc). Been there a long time it seems. Again - such a nice little space and under utilized. Great to stop for a few brochures and some last minute Florida Souvenirs - right across the street from Posner Park.

I have visited the Info center on a number of occasions and have always found the staff very helpful and informative about the local area and visitors attractions not just the Disney and Universal parks etc but also the local area places of interest.

They have maps and people to answer questions so it is a great stop to gather information about the local area.

Friendly and very helpful staff. They have a few local items for sale but the focus is on promoting local attractions rather than theme parks. They usually have free fresh orange juice.

We popped in here to get some theme park tickets and came away having met three wonderful people manning the centre. There were two retired gentlemen who were just so helpful, informative and good fun. They had a sidekick a young lady who they nicknamed Lil' Bit who was petit. This was because there was another lady with the same name and so the nickname. They were great fun and I imagine it would be real fun to work there. Outback there was a deck and a pond with an univited guest - a small alligator. They named it after me... Lovely touch. Please go and say Hi to them if you are anywhere near.

I stop by the Visitors center every now and then I am by there a few times a week. They are very helpful with information about all the area and have Free maps, booklets from a lot of venues and even rocking chairs on the poarch overlooking a pond with very large fish to look. A great place just to stop by and see what's going on in what ever season it might be.

Friendly staff. Not pushy, FULL of information, tips, how to find, when to go, how to save a little here and there and just great ideas for all ages and everyone in our group. There are truly informational books about the wildlife, flora, and fauna, in Florida. Some really cool souvenirs, not the typical touristy stuff. Highly recommended as a first stop in your time in Central Florida as a way to plan your visit.

went in to find a few things to do that did not involve the big parks. The people where very helpful giving us plenty of ideas for the future. Will use there service again

found a lot of intresting info for things to do in the area.
ther are a lot of water skying displays inside could spend an hour just looking around more then just maps and books

The Polk County Information Center is hands down one of the best assets this area can provide. From purchasing tickets to local information, they provide it all. Plus a free glass of Florida OJ! We are snowbirds from Illinois staying at the local KOA. Last year they helped us find an alternative route when Interstate 4 was very crowded. This year we got in on the Christmas event. Loved getting coupons for local restaurants and other establishments. And sharing information about other things in the area was fun and so valuable. Like the free water ski show (recommended by a gentleman who works the show) and the Circle B Bar Reserve (alligators!), which was free as well. We were lucky enough to win Legoland tickets during the Christmas drawing. Then we were blessed that Jeanie Baker helped us secure tickets to take 2 grandkids. Also huge thanks to Laura Moore. Pleasant, polite, personable and fun to talk with! Justin—Your staff rocks!!!! Hope to see y’all next fall!! Janet and Mike

We couldn't seem to get a local street map anywhere in Davenport. We drove all around to find one. Even the local phone book had no street maps in it.

We recently moved to the Central Florida area from out-of-state. Since we anticipate friends and family coming here to visit we wanted to obtain information that we felt they might like regarding attractions available in the area.
The enthusiastic representatives were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Since they are from the area and apparently very involved in the community, the information we obtained was perfectly described and tailored to our needs.
However, we also discovered that the Center provides much more than just information about attractions, not just for visitors but for local residents as well. Tickets to many attractions and events in Central Florida may be purchased at very reasonable discounts.
In addition, since the Center is based in Polk County, we were able to obtain a great deal of information regarding events and attractions available with the County that we now intend on visiting.
Visitors to the Center will be thoroughly amazed at what they find upon entry into the building. It's like a Florida cultural center, history center and museum that effectively uses technology to provide visitors a delightful look at Florida's past and present.
Finally, the Center enables visitors to purchase some local products at a reasonable cost to give them a better appreciation of the Made in Florida label.
All visitors to the area, and local residents as well, should visit the Center to better enjoy the attractions, events, and culture of Central Florida, including Polk County.

We visited Florida as a family for just under 2 weeks in Mid December 2016. We arrived and weren't really sure the best way to buy theme park tickets etc. On the drive to our villa on the night we landed we noticed the Visitor Information Center, and whilst awake in the middle of the first night due to jet lag, I Googled it so that we could find it the next day to go and seek advice. I was feeling a little overwhelmed to be honest about how many days to spend in which park, and what day was the best day to visit certain attractions, but the Visitor Center made everything easy and clear.
The lovely man, I wish I had asked his name, couldn't have been more helpful and we are very grateful. He explained about combining certain park tickets, when to go where, what we could and couldn't do and just made everything so accessible. We can't thank him enough. He listened to us, guided us in our decisions but also left us to think about our choices and put no pressure on us to buy anything we didn't want to.
By buying from them you also get a discount off the entry fees that you would pay at the gate on the day, and you avoid having to queue to buy tickets when you arrive at the parks.
Thank you so much for helping us in our hour of need!

stopped here while traveling to Disney. The clerk was a sweet man who was super helpful and more than happy to help with local information

The people at this centre were awesome. Very helpful and cheerful. Made us feel very welcome to Florida.

We called in this week to find somewhere different to go and came away with some great ideas. Ended up having a boat trip around the south lakes which was excellent. Thank you Laura Moore and your lovely colleague whose name I didn’t get. You certainly know what customer service is all about.

Restaurant and services. Great maps and a gift shop. Come and enjoy all they have to offer.

We used this for the park tickets which were discounted by the State. They are all above board and gave great advice on where and when for the vatious attractions.

Very nice people with lots of information about the entire general area. There can tell you about the different places to see and suggest where to go if you're never sure. They have maps and brochures for almost everything you could imagine. I'm visiting happy I stopped here.

This is easy to find, cheery helpful staff, great information available from there. Ask about the Rodeo, didn't expect to find one in Florida, however we learned that here is where it all started. Good sports history hall there as well. Also a good place to get tickets for all attractions.

A very comfy stop to get the information you need on the area and it's attractions. Nice lounge area and garden to sit and decompress. A good place to buy your discounted attraction tickets.

Very informative. Staff is friendly and helpful. Like to see all the live fish! Sports displays also interesting. Easier to access if you are headed south. Live stocked Lilly pond and outside covered porch and chairs are relaxing.

We stopped by to ask about Universal tickets. Dennis not only sold us the tickets but gave brilliant advice on how to do the parks. He also told us about Alligators Unlimited Airboat Nature Tours and booked us on the next day. His help really enhanced our holiday and all staff were so friendly and helpful. I would recommended everyone goes there at the start of their vacation.

Friendly people available to answer questions. Lots of local Florida information, brochures and maps. Always my first stop when driving to Florrida

The people are knowledgeable and here’s lots of info for attractions both popular and off the beaten path. And if you’re a local, this is a convenient place to borrow library books and videos and there’s a return box in the parking lot. There are some souvenirs- local jams. They also sell discount tickets for various attractions. If you are staying in the area, this is an excellent first stop for info.

Free maps, discount tickets and friendly. Informative staff. They had a special event on Saturday with 2 for 1 tickets for Legoland and Bok Tower Gardens. Thursdays there is a market with fresh produce. I am glad we went early in our vacation.

A nice quick stop. Clean bathrooms, charging station, playground, Farmers Market Thursday, fish observatory, little shop...

Lots of info on things to do in the area. Florida Sports Gall of Fame is small and has some good displays. Farmers market on Thursday's. Note - this is not for Orlando attractions.

they have some of the nicest people working at the visitor information centers.. and you get a fresh glass of orange juice, for free.. they are very helpful with everything you need.. good place to pick up some tickets too.. if you are driving around alot, and take the tollways, i suggest getting a SUNPASS.. get the suction cup kind. you can transfer those to other vehicles, and it automatically renews w/credit card. i love having mine.. costs $10 more, but is worth it, just to transfer to another vehicle.

Very pleasant employees. Great place to buy discounted tickets although you maybe able to get tickets cheaper on line. Very clean and lots of brochures for area attractions. Convenient location off of I4.

GREAT PLACE TO stop after our driving from Canada. Very clean!!!! Lots of maps and info. Very well maintained.

Our house is in the adjacent subdivision so know the area well, yet always stop in to check out the place for anything new. The staff are friendly and most helpful. If you need to print something from your computer, this is a good place to do it. For information and recommendations this is a good place to stop.

The place was easy to find because of signs on the roadways. We needed help because we got lost. We didn't have a GPS, so they printed out directions for us which was easy to follow. They made it very pleasant for us. I really appreciated the kindness.

I took my two year old grandson. He enjoyed the little playground and looking at the fish in the pond. They have a lot of information for tourists, and also a Florida sports car hall of fame exhibit.

My husband and I have visited this location several times over the past year. We've found the staff extremely helpful. They have a very well stocked and wide range of information pamphlets on the area and Florida.
Operated by volunteers who are helpful and knowledgeable.
They have maps of area, hotel details, fishing details, golfing suggestions and local attraction offerings.
There is also a video room showing a short film about area and a beautiful small lake so kids can see fish etc . There is a small fish tank too.
a small gift shop but the real plus is the info and books, leaflets you can pick up.
