Only distinguishing feature is that two presidents came here to vacation with their families. Other than that, beautiful mansion on a rocky point in the ocean. You cannot get close enough to see much of anything and the pullover for gawking can only fit a few vehicles. The road it is on is very busy in the summer and dangerous. Don’t stop for too long or the secret service might have a few words with you!

We stopped here after driving around Ocean Drive and taking pics of the beautiful views. There is a small area (few cars can fit) for you to pull off. It is across the water, but still visible and you can take pics.

On a bus tour and guide gave us history of Bush home and other family on the point. Our guide drove slowly so we could see the houses. We also saw the house the secret service people stay before you ever get close to the houses which is understandable. I enjoyed hearing the history from someone local.

The first place that we visited was Ocean Ave and Walker Point! It was a breathtaking view with the clear blue skies and shining sun over the rocky shoreline! The compound sits out on a point into the water, surrounded on three sides by the ocean. The American flag was proudly flying, which means that the family was in residence for the Fourth of July!🇺🇸

Wanted to see the Bush’s compound!
Lovely setting.
Amazing place
5 black SUV’s were parked outside so the family were probably in residence!

As one would expect you can't get too close. The view pulling up to the area is breath taking and why not stop by if your in the area.

The Bush compound. Most tend to want to see if you are in the area but you will not lose sleep if you miss it.

If you want to see rich people's beach house and associated buildings by all means go. It is on a nice drive so there is that.

... was sad to hear George Bush 41 he passed on. Felt we needed to stop for a few moments and reflect on their lives. Thank you for your service to our country.

We came specifically to Kennebunkport to see President Bush's House. We ended up loving the quint town. It's a nice drive along the cost to his house, lots of old homes. When we were there, there was a memorial for Barbara. There is a place to pull off and see the house, instead of parking along the road.

This little peninsula at the swell of Ocean Drive is holds the fiercely magnificent Bush compound. It is truly amazing. We could basically only see it from a distance, and, when were there, we spied little to no activity. We did see one SUV, but it never moved. I went back two days later on a walk and it was still there. Possibly a housesitter? I want THAT job.
It’s worth a look if you get the chance, if nothing else, just for the daydream of living in such a place.

We drove to Walker's Point so that we could see the Bush Compound from the road. It's an unasuming group of stately houses and carefully groomed grounds like many others in the area. Most of the local boating and lobster tours also give a birds eye view of this place from the ocean side.

Yes, the Bush Compound made for a nice picture, but the surrounding area has some nice views as well. We also visited the church just up the road. that was nice too. Not that it means anything but we thought it was cool standing here when Barbara Bush's wedding was held there the week before.

Access is limited, but it is worth the effort to see the home of a living president. The views around the area are excellent and also make it a must see.

It was lovely to look over from the trolley tour and see the Bush compound. It is a beautiful spot jutting out into the water. It looks like a happy place in a delightful town. I think it would be nice to see it from the water side.

If you are around Kennebunkport it is worth taking this easy walk or taking the route by car; beautiful cliffs, sumptuous homes and the tebnuta of the Bushes right on the tip.

Although this is a cool spot for "Bush-watching," it is, or was, a place where people went to have a family BBQ and marvel at Blowing Cave. If you do not know what that is, you should!

Great place to take in nature and some awesome scenery. Take plenty of pictures and make sure to spend some time to appreciate the area's beauty.

This drive is worth exploring, if you get a chance. The vistas are beautiful, with grand colonial homes, an interesting old church (St Anne’s) and a view of the Bush home.

What a gorgeously scenic area. We admired the President Bush compound from a lay-by on the nearby road.

We helpfully picked a beautiful day to travel along Oceans Drive to Walker’s Point.
A local helpfully pointed out the former President, George Bush’ House and with the number of large Black Secret Service type cars outside, it seemed he was probably there.
Beautiful views and neighbouring houses.
Parking was in a designated area just off the road and free for 15 mins.

There are lots of places along the drive to park-up and take-in the wonderful scenery. It’s also possible to see President Bush Compound along the way.

Stayed down the road from WP and it was a 1/2 mile drive from our Hotel. Well worth the pictures and views of the Bush compound. Highly recommended to take a drive down the scenic road and view the waves crashing against the rocks!

We were in the area and my 8 year old really wanted to drive by the Bush compound. It really is beautiful and just fascinating. My daughter appreciated it for sure and so did I.

Like others have said, you can only view from across the water, but the location of the house and knowing what it meant to the former president made it special.

Walker's Point is another scenic view to be had while driving along Ocean Ave. You can see the Bush Compound and scenic ocean views. Viewing is good all year long.

Drive down Ocean Ave. and you will come to Walkers Point. Looking across the little bay you will see the Bush Compound. If the flags are flying they are home. There are 5 limited parking spots for a quick view of their home. Make sure and go when there isn't any fog.

The elder Bushes spend their entire summer here, so it is nice to view the compound. It displayed the American, Maine and Texas flags. You can also see the adjacent houses that are summer homes of George Jr, Jeb, etc. They really have a prime location on this rocky ocean coast.

I can understand why they return every summer. The location exceptional and it certainly has privacy

Walker’s Point offers a great view for a wonderful person (President Bush). The area is spectacular, the water side offers splendid views as does the drive up the highway.

Just get in your car and explore Kennebunkport!! You will see the wonderful coast and the Bush compound too!

What spectacular scenery and a it of living history too as both President Bushes were in residence when we visited. Just be careful as you stop at the viewing point across the inlet from the house. Traffic can be quite heavy.

We took a scenic boat tour in Kennebunkport but really it was just a ride out to Walker’s Point and back. We had a much better view from the road that goes right by the house. It is an interesting story of 3+ generations landing here and building it up to what it is today, a sprawling multi home estate on a beautiful point that reaches beautifully out into the sea. It’s definitely worth a drive by.

You may drive up the road leading to George Bush Sr's summer home and see how the other half live. Ten minute stops are allowed and if the American flag is up then they are there.

Great place to stop and take photos. Great views of Walker's point in the water. Perfect place to eat right across the street (make reservations).

The highlight of this view isn't only the Bush estate. The landscape is so peaceful next to the small parking area. We loved sitting on the cliff next to the waves crashing. This spot isn't a must do while in Kennebunkport but it is worth a stop if you are in the area.

Enjoyed seeing the Bush family’s homes from our Lobster Tour Boat. Also enjoyed the amazing oceanfront drive along Ocean Ave. to view the homes from the road. A must see while in the area.

Walker's Point is a wonderful place for the Bush family to call home, part of the time. George W. was there when we were visiting. We were told that if 3 flags were flying that it meant 1 of the Presidents was there. The US flag, the flag of Maine and the Texas flag were flying on our visit.

We just “happened” on this place while driving along the road, It’s understated in its labeling - understandably so for security purposes. If you look carefully the area is monitored. Looks like some nice views.

We never fail to pass this beautiful spot when visiting Kennebunkport. The Bushs are American Royalty and this piece of property confirms it.

Growing up and seeing the Bush family in Kennebunkport, seeing helicopter views of the grounds on tv made it almost a familiar site. Nice to see it live. It's not like you can walk up, it's guarded and fenced. Worth a walk or drive by.

Being so close to this most beautiful house is amazing. Being so close to the ocean the view is breathtaking.

Truly beautiful and our son got a glimpse of some awesome sea creatures on the shore. The Bush Compound is so mysterious and I found it a peaceful and appropriate place to reflect on the Bush family - even did a little light reading on them while sitting on a bench overlooking the same shore they could be reflecting on--a nice moment for me.

we arrived on a foggy day. When we returned the secret service had arrived with several cars and were unloading people. We wer able to get a bunch of pictures as the fog had cleared.

We visited on Monday, July 3, 2017. This is just off of ocean avenue.
The best view of this, the Bush Compound, is from "Parson's Way", a turn out on Ocean Avenue. There was the American flag as well as the presidential flag and the state flag of Texas. Apparently this indicates that one or both of the Presidents Bush were in attendance.
There is a secret service station just off the main road. No admittance to the public.
Early planning by a family to obtain a very private piece of land that could easily be controlled at the narrow point of entry. Many large out buildings also.

A pretty drive, but not prettier than anywhere else on the coast. It's just fun to see where the rich and famous have their summer "cottages" I wouldn't go put of my way too far to see it, but if you're in the area you might as well drive past it.

The Bush compound sits on beautiful Walkers Point overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The views are gorgeous with sail boats and lobster boat going by. If you are in the area stop and look.

Bask in the splendour of the summer home of not one, but two former US Presidents!
There a couple of nice monuments on Ocean Driven commemorating the Bushes and their love for Kennebunkport (and the city's love for them I imagine :))
Shouldn't take more than a few min, but definitely not a must-do if in the area

Beautiful view of this compound on Ocean Drive, as well as many more lovely homes. We had a spectacular September day to sit on the rocks and enjoy the coastline.

Beautiful spot to reflect on a classy leader of our country. There is a lovely walkway along the water.

We had an interesting cruise aboard the lobster boat The Rugosa. Great weather and a hands on informational coastal tour made for a fun and very photographic tour of the area. Walker's Point is stunning and our cruise had a surprise when coming back to our marina at Nonantum Resort. Our captain pointed out President George H.W Bush traveling in a speed boat flanked by secret service returning to Walker's Point from his yacht. We waved and shouted our greetings and he waved back to us as well!

Couldn't drive up the coast of Maine without stopping in Kennebunkport and checking out Walker's Point, where the Bush Family summer home is located. Drive out Ocean Ave. until you get to Bowling Cave Park (where there is 15-minute roadside parking for about 5 cars); walk down the path to see across the cove and enjoy the view of the Bush compound from the sea back to the road. Gated entrance with the Secret Service just inside (check out the black SUVs with tinted windows). The house closest to the sea is the main house; the flag was up! Maybe George "43" and Laura were in residence!! There is a memorial to George H.W. Bush "41", an anchor honoring his service and his ties to Kennebunkport. After hearing about Walker's Point for so many years, and as a fan of Presidential sites, I'm glad we stopped here!

We drove to see the Bush compound. It is very visible from the road. You will not have any access to the property. The drive is very scenic.

You can't drive in (logically enough), there really is no good place to park, and the compound is pretty far away so pictures are iffy, unless you have a powerful zoom lens. Best way to see it is to drive by and take photo from car, or just look and store in your mental memory. Historic, beautiful location, but not worth more than 5 minutes.

Fun to view the Bushes compound from afar. Beautiful spot for a home. The other home along Ocean Drive are lovely as well. Fun to see the how the other half vacations!

Summer home of two Bush Presidents - lots of history and a place for great picture taking; it can be busy so wait patiently for a safe parking place.

Read up on the Bush Family compound (google it) and then check it out! You won’t be able to get through the road gate but you can pull off on the road shoulder to check it out from certain vantage points up the road.

I love all the history and the gossip about that point, which houses belong to who and how big the house is with the background view. However, it's not a must because you could look 30 seconds and have looked at everything. On the other hand you could go on the road near the point and watch the ocean and the point on the rocks and it could be a great activity

You can see the flag flying at half mast on the lawn of the Bush home in Kennebunkport. It is quiet and serene. It was a privilege to sit overlooking the water on Walker Point and reflect on a great man.

Most people stop to get a peak of the Bush Compound, but the view is just wonderful. We can easily see why the Bush Family or anyone for that matter would fall in love with the location. This was a nice stop on the Ocean Avenue ride.

I drove from MA with my mother for a day trip. Walker’s Point has two car pull-over areas, the water comes within 20 yards (& down below a few yards as well), so a combination of the Estate and unique Maine beach line make this a fun stop on your excursion through Kennebunkport. The Estate is gorgeous, multiple buildings and lots of security on the property, but quite impressive location to lay eyes on.

We only saw Walker's Point from a distance, as we walked along the beach and oceanfront roads. It was gorgeous, and inviting.

You can see President Bushes home from the shore. We were lucky to get up close with a boat tour. It's been in the family for years and when the family is there, there is another flag that is raised to let people know they are visiting. Pretty home, and a large compound with other homes for the secret service men, and other family members.

Beautiful location – gorgeous ocean view. Lovely seeing the Bush compound, lots of security so park on the road. You can't get close to the house.

A very stunning view across the water at the Bush compound. Bush 41 has has been embraced by common sense laden Mainers in Kbunkport. You will see the Bushes around town and they are always very gracious to all. Take a bike ride from Kbunkport Village up Ocean Ave. It takes about 20-30 minutes to bike from town. Some moderate hills to climb. Very scenic and relaxing ride along the coast. Also stop at St Ann's Episcopal church along the way.

The summer compound of the Bush family is a beautiful peninsula jutting out into the ocean. There is a pull off on the road to take in the stunning view and take some pictures. Worth a look if you are in the Kennebunkport area.

Ocean Avenue is a beautiful drive anyway, but stopping along the way to take pictures of the Bush Compound adds to the fun. Safe parking, but only a few spaces. Red, white and blue flowers add to the patriotic feel. You feel surrounded by the vast and magical sea. There is a anchor and plaque honoring George H. W. Bush. Loved the area so much and an easy drive.

The area is breath taking it certainly is a must see for everyone when visiting kennebunkport and the surrounding areas...don't miss it:)

This is a must see if you are in the area. Walker's point was named after the Bush family. Yes, they presidents. The property has been with the family for decades. There is a little pull off you can stop and see the entire property. You cannot enter the property at all. There is an anchor and plaque at the pull off honoring George H.W. Bush. It's a quick stop, but the view is great and its kind of a piece of history.

A must stop if you are in the neighborhood. There are several parking spots along the curb and a path to walk down by the water.

... unless you're a Bush invitee. You see the compound in the distance, but there isn't any information unless you look it up yourself.

Walker's Point, where the Bush compound is located is where former Pres. George & Barbara Bush summer. Frankly I was expecting it to be "more" but was pleasantly surprised to see how (relatively) "normal" the house on the point is. Of course, it's beautiful, but really not over-done.

On the 4th of July week the secret service was st the compound of president Bush estate!! it is a be site!!

We stopped by here yesterday. It is a beautiful view. There is parking on the side of the road. You can see the Bush compound across the water. It is so beautiful. You can sit on a bench or climb on the rocks and take in the view.

What can you say....to see the Bush estate on Walker’s Point was an exciting thing for me. Thing had been the summer and holiday home of the ambush family. While you can not go on the grounds, you case it well from across the bay. Glad we saw it!

Great to stop and take it all in. Great view of the house and property as well as the ocean. Even better on a beautiful day.

We did the walk out to Walker's Point in the afternoon. The weather was nice and the walk was easy from Colony Beach. I recommend it for some movement.

Great ocean scenery and very picturesque. A few spots along the road to stop and take pictures. Peaceful and enjoyable drive.

We used the Pineapple Ketch charter. Parking is free at the small marina it sails out of but was a little tricky to find exactly where the were (even with my GPS) as there is also a resort there and only small for the Pineapple Ketch It was a beautiful day but bring a jacket in case as you are out on open water and it can get a little chilly even in the middle of the summer. Wind allowed us to sail about 75% of time but we had to go but inboard motor (very quiet) for trip up to Walker's point. Capt pointed out all the details of the compound including the many houses in it and who belonged to which Bush. About a 2 sailboat tour that isn't really that expensive. Need to be at marina about 1/2 before scheduled departure. Better view of Walkers than point than you can get from shore

You can't get close due to security still provided the Bush family but the scenery if beautiful. If one of the family is in residence the US flag is at full mast.

Beautiful setting for the Bush family. If flag is flying, Pres. Bush is on the island. A number of homes for other family members.

We drove to the point by the anchor and plaque. The Bush family is very much loved in this town. You can view their home area but not enter.

We didn't even know they had a summer place here, was exciting to see. The trolley goes there but you have to drive yourself and get out to see its full glory.

President George H W Bush's family home is worth the time to take a look. There is a plaque celebrating our president's residence in Kennebunkport! The compound is breath taking!

We ended up here on a whim, but we enjoyed the drive after getting off the highway and having the chance to enjoy some lovely homes and scenery. There are a couple small areas where you can pull off the road to photograph the coast and/or the Bush complex. I'm sure it gets pretty crowded in the busy season, but thankfully we were there in February and there was only one other family nearby. Good spot for a couple pretty pictures of the coastline, etc. There's a small memorial to GHW Bush to the side that is a sweet tribute. Worth stopping for a couple minutes.

Every year we to come to Maine and we drive by, Walker’s POint and we just love to take a look at the different changes that have occurred over the years.

Walker's Point is the location of the Bush family compound. Not open to tourists, but there is an excellent vantage point from Ocean Avenue where there is limited parking. We visited here off-season. There was a chill in the air, but the sun was bright and the sea is a sure cure for a troubled world.
The coastline here is simply beautiful, relatively unspoiled and the waves on the rocks are music to a visitors' ears. This is a must-see destination for any visiting Kennebunkport.
Enjoy.

Although you can't tour it, you can see the property from the shore and it is very interesting. It is also a very scenic spot all to itself so it is a great stop. We didn't take a tour, we just drove there ourselves, but we googled it and were able to educate ourselves, very interesting.

Pretty drive from Dock Square- Beautiful homes. Nice to see how the Presidents vacation and rest, although you can't see much, as it is quite a distance from the road.

Great place to view the rocky coast and surf. Easy to sit for a bit and contemplate.
The Bush compound is impressive and still draws a crowd.

Very nice drive along Ocean Ave. with beautiful shoreline. When you get to Walkers Point there is 15 min parking to snap a few pictures of the Bushes home. We went early so we stayed a little longer since there was plenty of parking. The shore line is really nice if the waves are coming in. Nice homes all along Ocean Ave..

We did drive out to see the Bush compound. It is beautiful and worth the drive but basically uneventful. What a nice setting for that house.

Neat to see the property. A few spaces to view. I'd love to live there. Busy area. Keep driving up coast as prettier points to see

Yes, take a moment to make the drive to a designated parking area to see the H W Bush summer home......a makeshift memorial for Barbara is also at the parking area......
You can't see much, but " if your in the area" .

We drove ourselves up to this location. There were two great pull in places on either side of the house, the one on the north side was much nicer, but more people came to the one on south side.

Great views.Saw presidents compound.St ANN'S Church was Amazing.Great area for a picnic. Weather was beautiful for watching local fishing boats.

A quick stop to understand the Bush family history. Watch the flags - US, Maine - Tx. to see if GHEB is in residence.

It is pretty certain that if you are visiting Kennebunkport that you will drive along Ocean Avenue and stop to take a photo of Walker's Point. I did, not once, not twice, but a total of 3 times in 2 days early in the morning, mid-day and at dusk. There are several parking spots available where one can stop for 15 minutes in order to view and photograph the Bush's summer home.

We learned the significance of Prescott Bush’s visit to Kennebunkport and the reason we visit Walker’s Point today. Great visit!

Whenever we travel to Maine, we like to stop here to remember the famous folks that made Kennebunkport their summer home. As we walk the main street and chat with folks, we hear how the Bush's became part of the community.
It is a nice setting as the picture here shows. That's if you can find a parking spot .

Nice long walk. Easy footing, sidewalks throughout, no steepness. A good walk for all abilities, just keep in mind that making it all the way to the Walker's Point vantage takes about 45-60 mins. Also you don't get close to Walker's Point, you see it in the distance - a little underwhelming. Beautiful houses along the way though. On the way back, sunset happy hour and specials at Stripers were great!

We visit here every time we come to Maine This time it was a somber visit. Bush 41 had just passed away and as a former Navy man, I felt it my duty to honor him. It’s very clear that the people of Maine have a deep respect and love for this man. Politics aside he was a wonderful family man with a great set of moral values.

We saw the Bush Compound while on a lobster tour around the Harbor. It was beautiful by water, and we toured by car in that area later that day. The whole area is spectacular and the homes all around are as well.

Our new "go to" spot! There are several places on Ocean Avenue where you are able to park your car so that you can view Walker's Point. St Ann's Episcopal Church By-The-Sea offers breathtaking ocean views as well. Kennebunkport and Kennebunk is not "junky touristy" but refreshingly nice. Goose Rocks Beach just a few minutes north of Kennebunkport is beautiful too, but go late afternoon or evening when it's quieter and the parking is free. The family and I stayed in Cape Porpoise, a quaint little fishing village. A quick drive brought us into Kennebunkport each day. We are already planning on a longer stay next summer!

I drove to Walkers Point to see the Bush’s home. It is protected by guards, but you can pull off the roadway and look.

Five parking spots across the waterway allow you to view (for a short period of time) the compound where the Bush family vacations. Although you don't really see anyone other than security walking around, I waved and pretended that Barbara Bush was waving back at me. It's a beautiful site - and sight!

When we rode out there it was misting and waves were high which made for some beautiful pictures. Must see drive if you are in the area!

Very popular spot for people watching. Very large compound in a beautiful setting if your driving pass well worth the stop.

Of course you can't go on the grounds unless you have a special invitation but there is a pull off where you can stop and take a picture. It's a fantastic piece of property and we wish GHWB the best!

This is the place to view former President Bush's summer home. You can see it from a large anchor marker on the road.

I walked up from my hotel - sidewalks the whole way made it safe and easy. Pretty place! I guess when the Texas flag is flying they are there - I saw it on the first day I went and it was gone later In the week so maybe that's true :) regardless, absolutely worth a bit of exercise to head out and see it!

You cannot drive right up to the property, but it is worth the drive to see the point. The locals told us if the flag was flying they were home.

A beautiful view of Walkers point. The private Kennebunkport residence of the Bush family for generations. Cars will congregate to take pictures on the right side of the road.

The key to finding Walker’s Point is to keep driving. There are a number of places to pull off but the one you are looking for is well past the church. It’s quite a compound and can be identified by the photos others have taken. We too saw the Secret Service Suburbans. Nice digs!

When driving on Ocean Ave. there is a small pull over where you can park and view the compound from a distance. Nice place to take photos, this is as close as you can get. There is a small path and rock formation.

Wow, a gorgeous estate with unbelievable views of the ocean. You can't go in, but can stop along the way to take it all in. When I was there, both 41 and 43 were in residence with their families and were seen around town. It was fun to pass by the guard station and see the lineup of long black limos ready to go!

Be sure to visit the great and wonderful Walker’s Point when you have the time to do so with family or friends.

The Bush family has a long history in Kennebunkport, so it is pretty neat to be able to take a look at the estate. It's a distant view, but a typical Maine rugged coastline, which we always love to look at, and with Mr. and Mrs. deaths recently, we were definitely nostalgic. Good stop by, but don't make this a major tour point, as it's just a view from the road.

Great stop to pay tribute to 41 and 43. Got out on the rocks to see the waves crashing against the shore.

This was a must see while in Maine and we were not disappointed. The view is spectacular and a bonus of viewing the Bush Family compound.

It’s okay but not great. Residence of the Bush family is located there. No tours and limited parking.

this is a nice viewpoint of the bush compound. You cannot go that much closer then this viewpoint. Surrounding scenery is very attractive especially if seals are out. Would probably recommend this is the summer rather than winter

We loved the town of Kennebunkport, but Walker's Point was the highlight of the area. Walkers point is scenic and and wild all at the same time. The Bush family summer home is at strategic place on this beautiful peninsula!

The the viewing area for Walker 's Point (The Bush Compound) has very limited off the road parallel parking, but the turnover is constant. Therefore getting a space is usually not a problem. It is well worth a stop particularly near high tide for some great blow hole type surf pictures, which are much more dramatic than a picture of Walker's Point.

Our friends were driving us all over New England during a recent visit and we stopped in Kennebunkport to see Walker's Point. We'd always heard about how President George HW Bush and his wife Barbara were vacationing in Kennebunkport but never appreciated how beautiful the place is! Of course, the entire point is private property so you are limited to what you can see across the bay - about 200 yards.
Well worth the stop to see what we'd only been able to imagine in the past!

This is one of the main attractions in town. Although you can't get too close to the compound, you can get a pretty clear view from the road. The little harbor is picturesque and the water is a beautiful blue. Definitely worth the drive from town to see the wonderful large homes along Ocean Avenue and former presidents' stomping grounds.

Wonderful bus tour of Maine. Toured Kinneybunk, ME and saw the Bush home and ocean. Had a good time.

We rode bikes down Ocean Ave and stopped at Walker’s Point. Great views of the shoreline and Gulf. Walker’s Point has a monument that overlooks the Bush House.

When we travel to Kennebunkport we always take a ride out to see President Bush's summer home. It is just a fascinating trip. I read the Bush family arrives in May and departs in October. I believe the Texas flag flies when they are in residence. It is a beautiful drive out there.

We drove around Ocean Drive and enjoyed the beautiful vistas. There is a place where you can stop and take photos of the Bush compound.

Really great view of the Bush summer retreat house that has been in the family for generations.
It’s a beautiful drive to go see this compound and gets you into a beautiful spot on the water in Kennebunkport.
Worth a visit.

While in New England, we drove up to Kennebunkport, Maine and out to Walker's Point. Great views and a very scenic drive. Beautiful afternoon and visit.

As I viewed the Bush's home I could only see myself living there in total bliss and serenity. What a awesome setting and peaceful area.

Walker's Point is the summer retreat for President George H.W. Bush. It is easily seen from the road. Family members, along with secret service staff, are often seen from the respectful distance. The property was once owned by the President's grandmother and is a favorite gathering place for the Bush family. It sits on a lovely point of land to provide a nice view for travelers to appreciate.

An easy drive or bike ride outside of town, you get a good view of the house from the road. Still seems to be lots of security so you can't get close, but still a bit of history worth seeing.

There is a small turnout across from the house/compound for about six cars. You look across a small inlet. There is a nice anchor monument to Bush Sr. The flagpole out front was flying the Texas flag, which supposedly meant Jr was in residence. People leave flowers, balloons, flags etc, near the monument.

It’s wonderful to look out and view Walkers Point. A beautiful site of life for the. Bush family. Presidential spots like this are great for all of us. While the Compound is secure, you can take some great pictures of the Point from Ocean Avenue.

Driving Ocean Ave and viewing all along but Walkers Point is highlight. Noticed it was quite busy out there - many vehicles and 2 days later found out it was the Barbara Bush wedding. Ride is slow and crowded with several pull over spots- many tour buses were there the day we were. Slow is good though so can take it all in !

I was pleasantly surprised that we got such a beautiful photo and complete view of the Bush estate. I had brought my new binoculars which came in handy. They worked beautifully. I could see people walking around the estate. We were told on a guided tour that Bush Sr's daughter and son live in the house directly in back of them. Jed has built a house in back of that.
There's a place you can stop across the rocky coastline from where they are located park your car and take photos. It was really neat. There's a guard gate you can see manned by secret service.

This was our second visit here and we enjoy seeing this historic place. Love watching the water break on the rocks too!

The Walker family was very smart when they purchased that piece of property 100+ years ago! I'm sure the family has enjoyed many happy (and sad) times there. We saw the Secret Service vehicles so we assume G.H.W. Bush was home. I hope he is still enjoying the magnificent views.

Lovely view. Lovely neighborhood. Kind of cool that the Bush's still come to stay in summer. Seeing secret service and all that. Another quick stop that's just, interesting.

It is interesting to see the Bush compound, and the Secret Service black cars and the security cameras and fences. The setting is beautiful. The neighbors irritated (look at all the no parking signs they have erected). The historical significance noteworthy too. Definitely worth a ride, or walk or visit.

Beautiful view of the Bush compound from the Gulf of Maine. Happy to report there are lots of solar panels on their houses.

We go to Maine about once a year. We never miss going to Walker's Point. It is breathtaking...and I always hope to see one of the Bushes. We even dipped our feet into the icy water nearby! such fun. Always a highlight when we plan to go there. It is Bush Country!

If you come to Kennebunkport it's definitely worth taking a ride on scenic Ocean Avenue, which will include your seeing the Bush family compound. The entire ride is only a few miles and includes a number of places where you can park and take pictures. If you don't want to drive yourself there is a wonderful trolley tour that includes Ocean Avenue. There is also a scenic cruise that includes a close up view from the ocean of the Bush compound.

we saw Walkers Point while we were on the Rugosa Lobster Tour. Bushes were there as the flags were flying. beautiful home

We drove the Ocean Avenue route during our Maine Lighthouse tour. We saw all sights along the way from the car. The houses are exquisite in their coastal appearance. The water was somewhat calm with little chop on the day we visited. It was a relaxing and beautiful view.

You cant get close to the compound but you can view it from the side of the road. We went in the morning and it was bright and sunny so there was glare for our photos. I'd suggest you go closer to noon or later if you want good photos. It's a beautiful setting.

A drive along Ocean Drive in Kennebunkport is beautiful. The rocky coast, then beautiful Walkers Point stretches out on a peninsula. Summer home of the Bush family, the word is that if the American flag is flying, President Bush 41 is on site, and if the Texas flag is flying, President Bush 43 is on site.

Such a beautiful place!! It is very cool to see a house where a former president lives. It overlooks the water and is really cool

No disrespect to the Bush's but it's just a really nice house. Worth seeing once or twice and spying to see if you see the Bush's around but not too much going on beyond the home and the ocean views - the later of which there are better along Ocean Ave.

The ride down Ocean Drive is spectacular...Walker's Point and the Bush family Compound is the focal point...if you're in the area it's definitely worth the ride down Ocean Drive.

Amazing that you can view a president’s home so close and in all its glory. Breathtaking and just beautiful. You have to believe you are in the northeast and of course MAINE!!

We always pass by and pay homage to our former President Bush who occasionally can be seen; pretty vista of his house and the ocean; parking is very easy; the view is free and it is a lovely drive along the coastline; nice free attraction

This is a very scenic spot and a beautiful compound owned by the Bush family. Worth a drive-by! It's even nicer to view from the water if you happen to be boating. There are ten housing units on the property including the main house.

Have been there 3times. Beautiful view. You just know what wonderful times the Bush family has made there with their families. Once in Kennebunkport we stopped at a nearby restaurant and there sat President HW Bush, our president st the time. With his passing this week, it has a memorable time know we saw him there

Stunning view of the ocean, especially with the waves hitting the rocks. The Bush Estate was beautiful, even from afar. There are a few pull-offs where you can grab some pics. The mansions along this road are beautiful! Scenic way to spend an afternoon!

Interesting to drive by and take a view of the Bush family summer compound. Quite impressive. It is a beautiful drive along the coast.

A very short and pretty drive alone the coast line. Beautiful Inn's and other homes along the way. Don't miss seeing this, especially if you are already in Kennebunkport.

Walker’s Point is a special place. Although it can only be seen from a distance it is a beautiful place filled with historic significance. It always special to be near property considered to be the home of a President of the United States.

We try to get here about once or more a year. Although it is a place we often visit each time is like the first time. So beautiful and the locals are so enchanting.

Our teens loved this place. They took off walking along the rock pier. Took lots of selfies. It’s quintessential Maine. Could simply not believe how close we were to the Bush compound.

We stopped at the pull-off on Ocean Avenue across the inlet from the Bush compound and took a few photos. Saw a few people walking around the compound, but couldn't identify them at all. The Texas flag was flying, which we understood means that one or more of the family members was at the compound.
There was a steady stream of people pulling up; parking was a bit challenging (not enough spaces). We then continued driving along the road and went past the entrance to the compound and enjoyed the scenery.
We retraced our route back past the compound and saw that a minivan was stopped there, waiting for traffic to clear so the driver could exit. We turned and looked as we drove past and it was Jeb Bush, clear as day. We are pretty much independent voters, not tied to either party, but it was very exciting ... even for my 24-year-old nephew who I think voted for Bernie Sanders.

You can view Walkers Point from the road but there is no access. It's private property and is the site of President George H W Bush's home.
It's scenic but not the sole purpose of a trip.Just stop on the roadside to see it and keep on driving down the coast road.(No, we were not invited in for lunch........)

Heading south out of a Kennebunkport and just around the corner you come upon Walker's Point. Plenty of space to pull over and take in the magnificent views!

If you are in Kennebunkport, ya just gotta get this check in the block. There is a small parking area from which you can view the compound.

With people being curious and the Bushes being famous, it really is a nice thing to have the pullout along Ocean Ave. where you can see the Bush family’s summer home in a safe way. Otherwise people or tourists would be clogging up the road trying to see the home from the car or even slowing to take pictures. So the pullout is smart to have. The home is lovely to see even from afar (you do not get close), but the view of the water and the rocks is just as great!

This magnificent ocean drive is only magnified by the fact that
it represents several homes owned by President Bush. A compound
if you will. You can only enjoy seeing it from a distance, but still
an interesting side trip.

This was our last night in Kennebunkport and we just finished a great meal at Alisson's Restaurant, and decided to take a drive out to see where the Bush summer cottage was located. Ha Ha. It's a very peaceful location and very scenic. There was a cluster of boulders which were formed just right to make a whooshing sound when the waves crashed against them. I took several pictures, and should have taken video too. The observation area is limited to 15 minutes. There's a plaque which was given to Bush Sr. from the town of Kennebunkport thanking him for his contribution to history.

Of course the Bush compound is an attraction. Beautiful location for one of our nations first family's. A brief look was more than enough. It was right on our trip down the coast so worth a visit.

To be able to quickly visit the home of two of our Presidents was pretty amazing. History is always something to pay attention to. It is an easy drive with places to pull over and use your camera.

You can get views of the main Bush house and all the other houses from Ocean Avenue. I'm so happy we finally got to see the house. I never thought it would be so easy to find and see. A must see if you're in the area. There are signs saying no parking busses and RVs leading up to the property. Another clear giveaway that you're at the right house is the gatehouse and flag pole.

Walkers Point is located along Ocean Drive about 1-2 miles from the Kennebunkport shopping district. This area provides gorgeous incredible views along the rocky shoreline and out into the Atlantic Ocean. There are some areas for public parking along the street along with a sidewalk and benches. The views are a can't miss and well worth an hour's time to see, especially on a sunny day. Visiting at high tide is even more worthwhile to see the ocean waves crashing among the rocks. The summer home of former President Bush and his wife is located at the northern end, and can be viewed from a distance. Walkers Point provides natural beauty and views that are well worth the time.

The Bush Family is beloved in Kennebunkport. It is a beautiful compound. The property has been a family retreat for more than a century. If you see the Texas flying, you know they are in residence.

You must go there. You can't go to Kennebunkport and not see President Bush's house! Nice drive out and a chance to glimpse a famous spot in American history. Wish he were still President...

You cannot go in, of course, but there is a pullout to see the Bush compound. It's on Ocean Avenue, take first right after bridge in Kennebunk Center if coming from south and just keep going. Can't miss it.

While you can’t actually visit the point, there are pull outs that allow you to view the compound from a distance. There appeared to be construction going on with a temporary wall in place when we visited so the view was somewhat obstructed. It was a windy day with high waves. What a place to live with a unbelievable view of the bay and the Atlantic beyond.

Following lunch we took the short drive to Walker's point and manage to get a photo but not able to find parking to be able to get out and walk around. Beautiful area and the home looks gorgeous and they sure have an amazing view.

My wife and I stopped along Ocean Avenue to see the view during a two-night stay in Kennebunkport and we came upon this structure - Walker's Point, the home of the George Bush family. Just wish we could have gotten closer, but we did get a couple of nice pics. A must see!

Walked along the rocks and saw the compound. Easy to get close to the water and to find parking along the road.

Walkers point is the compound for the Bush family. Beautiful area and near beaches - a church just before is open for the grounds unless there is an event scheduled. Great for picnics and views of Walkers Point and the ocean. You cannot go to Walkers Point unless you have security clearance.

Worth visiting if in Kennebunkport just for the views alone. We watched the local fishermen collecting in the lobster pots. Obviously famous for the Bush summer residence which is interesting to see across the bay but nothing spectacular.
Nice to climb on the rocks but parking is limited I assume due to security so ok for a brief stop to take a few photos.

Walked out to nearly Walker's Point on lovely sunny day. Some interesting houses and St Ann's church on the way

Great place to walk the dog along the waterfront up to the Bush compound. Nice way to pay tribute to Bush 41.

Bike or walk there and take in the views. Beautiful property and makes you feel a little extra bit of patriotism when viewing the property.

It's a beautiful "neighborhood" and there is an easily accessible area to park to take photos. It's truly a compound. We saw lots of dark vans and SUVs parked near the gates and some people walking around near the big house. Worth a stop if you have time.

it s ok to see where they spend time with their family & friends and the guards at the gate. it s a nice area to spend time

I have seen Walkers point for years when the presidents Bush spent time there. It has been a bucket list thing for me to see. It is beautiful especially if you can travel Ocean loop near sunset.

Honored to get a glimpse of the Bush Compound was a must see/do for us while visiting Kennebunkport.

Park along the road in free spaces across the street from the Colony Hotel and walk along Ocean Avenue enjoying the crashing surf and the lovely scenery. You'll see the Bush Compound out on Walker's Point, but keep going all the way to the end of the walkway for the best views.

Millions travel into this area to see Walker's Point. When you get right down to it, its just a lovely home with a great view. What makes it fun to visit is that you may get a glimpse of the Bush Family! The day that we visited you could see the Secret Service cars picking up some people and driving off. You can't get right up close, but across the way offers a wonderful view.

A nice bike ride, walk, or drive. The coastal views are beautiful, and the homes are worth a look also.

Of course, there is a guard building near the road, so you can't get any closer than this photo shows. They talk about the flag indicating if someone was there or not. Raised - home.

We came to Kennebunkport because we heard so many good things about it. We drove both coasts. This side of the coast is known for its luxury estate houses off the side of the road overlooking the ocean. The anchor was put there in honour of George W Bush for serving as the President of the US. We see his beach house from this point. You are unable to visit or come close to the house as it’s guarded with a fence and security guard. Very nice place for a quick stop and admire the view.

Our tour took us by here so we took several pictures. Traffic not bad but we were there looking for leaf color so probably not the peak of tour season. The grounds are impressive but you need a guide to explain all the different buildings and some history. Neat place.

You can see the compound from afar but not much to see; however, it is just nice to sit on the rocks and enjoy the beauty that is the Maine coastline. I am glad to hear that the compound is remaining in the family.

A nice bike ride from Kennebunkport! The marsh area near the entrance to the compound is beautiful! It's easy to see the secret service vehicles and the flags up that signal that Bush is in residence.

Such a beautiful spot. Nice to sit and take in the views which are stunning. Don't miss it. Either walk or bike for best views.

Obviously can’t get very close but beautiful compound. Probably nice view from water which we didn’t do but people have recommended. There is a scenic overlook you can pull off ocean av on to if you want to take pictures.

We were able to find a spot to park our car so that we could get out and enjoy the view of Walker's Point. You can clearly see the house and all the other family members' homes on Walker's Point. We were even able to see 5 family members or guests of the family swimming around the dock on the day we were there.

We were staying in Kennebunkport a few days and I wanted to see what all the hype was about the Bush compound. I don't think anyone was there as I didn't see any activity like secret service, and you really couldn't get too close. But it was worth seeing it first hand.

Scenic and a short drive from town along the water, the Bush compound is located surprisingly close to the road, yet protected by the ocean. Stop your vehicle and explore the American flag-adorned brass plaque and anchor situated nearby. Observe an intimate peek into the beloved Bush family compound. Particularly moving now that we have lost former President Bush.

A must see in Kennebunkport Maine, great viewing area for pictures on Ocean Ave. We were there on June 19th and I believe it was President Bush's birthday. There were bag pipers on Ocean Ave playing Happy Birthday to the President, does not get better than that. You cannot go into the compound but the view of it and the Ocean are lovely.

I always drive by when I'm in the area, it's a beautiful setting & it's exciting to see the Texas flag out & know the president is home

Lovely and serene spot to walk along the waters edge. Great views of the ocean, but no beaches. Stop at the Colony Hotel, facing Walker’s Point, at the end of Ocean Avenue, for a beverage in the historic lobby.

Great views plenty of parking areas more traffic than you might expect but sidewalks are there. Quiet places to sit on the rocks relax and views

The focus at this spot is all on the Bush compound . I liked those words on the plaque with the real anchor, lovely and thoughtful. This is also a nice point for photo ops of ocean background.

Nice to drive around this area and see the lovely houses including the Bush compound. Hard to stop to take pictures for obvious security reasons but still good to see and lovely views of the water.

Definitely come here if you’re in the area. It’s a nice drive along the coast line but you also get to see an impressive view of the home where George Bush’s family visits. There is also attaching monument that is tribute to George Sr. and his wife Barbara.

Breathtaking view of the Bush summer home along Maine ‘s rocky coast. Parking along the roadway can be difficult. Walking along Ocean Ave is highly recommended but be careful with young children.

The drive is nice with many nice looking homes. The fact is that you can see the house from a distance. And you can see the ocean as well. The view of the ocean and the boats passing are probably the best part.

Loved the drive to Walkers Point, scenic with ocean views and pretty wild flowers and opportunities for pictures. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area!

This is only a short drive away from downtown Kennebunkport along the shoreline. We visited the day after #41 Funeral in Texas, laid some flowers and said some prayers, a very somber experience! Quite a peaceful setting where one could be very meditative overlooking the rugged coastline and views of the ocean. Views of Walker's Point in the distance but no access allowed to the families private road and residences of course. Time to reflect on a Wonderful Man. The people of Kennebunkport, who knew and loved him, have a plaque commemorating him.

Interesting to see the Bush family compound. You can get fairly close, and take photos from the side of the street across the water. Beautiful area. Dont miss Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church just down the street.

We had driven along the southern part of Ocean Avenue and headed north. Walker's Point was even more spectacular than the photos we have seen. Well worth the drive!

Obviously, you can't get too close, but the view is incredible, and simply knowing who the family is that owns the point is special. As it turns out, the entire family was there when we went by on Saturday, so lots of activity.
Pretty special.

Great ocean view, plus the Bush family compound, awesome, a sense of history and family. Great in summer and winter.

Such a beautiful view - the point is really lovely and the added plaque President Bush was nice. We enjoyed stopping for a quick view.

We went to Kennebunkport over the weekend. Traffic was very congested through town and also on the road to Walkers Point. This is a quaint Maine town. It was very foggy and altllt cool on this August day. People that were swimming in the ocean had on wet suits.

You a see it from the road but you can't stop too long. You can also view it from the water on a boat tour.

It is highly recommended to drive, walk or bike the Ocean Avenue and have a short stop along the road to look at The Walker's Point. There is a short term parking space there for 6-8 cars. Continue straight ahead and you are back in Kennebunkport after appr. 2.5 miles.
The whole trip from Kennebunkport and back is about 4.7 miles (7.6 km).

Nice drive along the rocky coast and boom, there it is. You'll be surprised by the number of buildings on the point desipte usually only seeing the famous house on the very tip.

Walker’s Point View of the Atlantic Ocean is simply breathtaking. The view from the road is beautiful. Worthy of your visit if in Kennebunkport.

This home and point are one of the great sights in Kennebunkport. The memorial near it for President George H. W. Bush is touching and kind.

The compound was fabulous to view from Ocean Avenue. Heard the story of how former President Bush acquired the compound. We were all in awe to see it. Not sure he was there when we were by.
The place is truly fabulous and makes a great photo!

We made a stop in Kennebunkport from North Conway, NH to Boston for lunch and a drive by Walker's Point. It was absolutely beautiful on our quick visit to Walker's Point.

My wife and I make it a point to run from our hotel (The Nonamtum) to the Bush estate on our weekend getaway. The views are spectacular and the the air feels so crisp and clean!

I always stop by Walker's Point for some photos when I'm in the area. It's a great place for a quick stop. I've never taken binoculars with me, but it's not a bad idea if you want to get a closer look at what's going on at the Bush residence. I've been able to get some great shots with flowers in the foreground, the water bouncing off the rocks, and the house in the background. It's also a good selfie spot. It's definitely worth a stop if you're in Kennebunkport.

This is a must see if you are in the area! Beautiful views of the Bush compound. Easy parking relatively close. Security is clearly onsite but photos from a distance are allowed.

Walker's Point is home to Bush family and from ashore, you can seeth family walking their dogs and children plaing about. Usually the Texas Flag means President Bush is in town. The Secret Service vehicles were another clue

It was a nice ride along the coast to get a view of this home for 2 great presidents. Very patriotic with flags flying in the breeze. So glad I got to see it, but from across the water. No access to the public.

Take a ride and enjoy the wonderful scenery and a picture taking area. The ride around the area is beautiful and serene. Look out at the Bushes compound. Plenty of places to stay and eat around the area.

So excited to see this place that is special to Presidents 41 and 43. Mrs. Bush had just recently passed away and President GHWBush was in house. The Texas flag and US flag were flying proudly. We first viewed the home from the water while taking a tour on a lobster trapping boat. Later we drove to the entrance and saw the memorials and a different view of the home. A great memory for this BUSH family fan.

Nice property, not accessible by car. Can be seen remotely if travelling on Ocean Drive. But the best way to see it is by boat. We were on the "scenic lobster cruise" we took from Kennebunkport, and we got the best view of Walker's Point. The 1h30mn cruise offers a nice view of the coast, of wildlife such as seals, birds as well as a live demonstration on how lobsters are caught.

As a history buff, it was cool to see the summer home of two of our country's presidents. The views of the Atlantic ocean are fantastic from the side of the road just South of the compound. We drove by the entrance, but out of respect for the families living on the point. We drove by as quickly as we arrived. Kinnebunk and Kinnebunkport are both great tourist spots. The people there are friendly, the towns are clean, and full of history. There are great beaches to visit, good restaurants, interesting architecture, and a bevy of differing nationalities also visiting.

I've heardfor years about this compound. I've seen Bush Sr. in fishing magazines buzzing around here. I can't imagine the who's who that have been here.

Beautiful estate!! Did a cruise and saw the estate from the water and then when we were leaving Kennebunkport as well.

It's just a cool sight to see the point. I'd start my day at the Nonantum and walk down to see the shore views of the rocks and sea and end up and front gate. The point itself is cool, but I recommend the sidewalks before and after to see the little coves and check out the benches to watch ocean activity.

We visit Maine once a year. Many times just walk up Ocean Avenue to look across to Walkers Point. Its awesome to see the compound and wonder what is would be like to be stationed there as Secret Service.

This is an unbelievably beautiful home and grounds right on the rugged Maine Coast with beautiful views.

This is a beautiful area with great beach views and some amazing properties to look at.
Most famous for the Bush family compound at one end.
It was nice to look in quickly however some people seem to be over eager and it appears rude.
Quick look then move on!

Walker point is a large pull over area where you can pull over and view the ancor and the former President George Busch home and a fantastic view of the Maine coast.

Beautiful estate and I was pleased we were able to make a stop here. Parking can be challenging but people don't stay too long so it does free up quickly.

If you are in the area travel to Ocean Avenue to see the lovely tributes left in President Bush's memory.

Crowded parking and traffic was troublesome. A photo op that did not match the lighthouses in the area. Go only if dedicated to history.

Thank you to President Bush and family for allowing us to stand across the way and admire the beautiful view.
Be well

Obviously, you can't tour the property since this is a private residence. However, there is a designated stopping point on the coastal road with a great view of the point.

We caught this in the rain/fog and then later at sunset... highly recommend. We talked to a local who had helped Bush Sr when he was just running for office. She spoke so fondly of the family. They continue to support the town and attend church there at the episcopal church. A very meaningful visit.

The first time I visited Walker's Point was years ago when GW was in office. Property still as beautiful as ever. Received an unexpected bonus during today's visit. We arrived at just the right tide for the blow hole near Ocean Ave to be active. It sounded alot like a whale surfacing and shot water 15 ft or so into the air as the waves rolled in. Quite a treat.

Normally Ocean Avenue at Walker's Point is bumper-to-bumper with people wanting to see the Bush compound, but this time of year there was hardly anyone around. The Bush compound is very nice to look at, even though the structures are very plan and not as regal or breathtaking as some of the nearby mansions. The ocean and coastal views are wonderful.

Walkers' Point, the Bush family summer home, is set against the Atlantic Ocean in a picture postcard manner.
We are unafilliated voters, but this property feels like you are witnessing history and possibly catching sight of one of our Presidents, as well as staring at mother nature in her finest setting. Knowing that it was Barbara Bush's family money that provided all of this beauty adds a bit of irony to the family compound. Well done Mrs. First Lady!

This part of the coastline is very wild and rugged and Walkers Point sits on its own rocks, interesting to see where a famous person lives if only from a distance. There are good pull ins which allow you to take in the view safely. Worth a look

The ocean view and homes are bueatiful. You wonder where all this money comes from. There are some limited parking spaces available to view this vista and the Bush property. The drive is just bueatiful and a part of what Maine is about.

Glad I got to drive by this little part of history I often hear about. Anchor & plaque up on side of road with estate in the background.

Kennebunk and Kennebunkport are delightful places.
The homes are so very sweet looking with their distinctive styles and brightly colored front doors. Fall decor exceeded anything I have ever seen with baby
pumpkins on the lentil with others on porch rails, steps, etc. The homes are old and well-maintained with flowers surrounding the homes. The stone walls
add to the quaintness. They make you want to live there. Sidewalks are full of folks walking their dogs and the people/dogs are friendly. Shopping ranges from local artisans to preppie sportswear. The beach area has dark sand and prominent rocks. On a cool, crisp day it was invigorating to walk the beach.
We were on an east coast trip hiking the highest mountains. It was refreshing to see the downtown area which had a village feel rather than a vinyl-sided
subdivision. The highways have no billboards allowing you to easily view the gorgeous landscape, church steeples, fall leaves, dairy barns, lakes and rivers. Pack those bags!!

Dying to see President Bush while he was in town. Didn't catch a glimpse of him but we did see Secret Service watching US with their binoculars!

The bushes live well. But you can’t get onto their street. The area is fabulous. We went climbing on rocks but saw nothing

the anchor and plaque located on the street tell you that this is the Bush (president) vacation complex. don't know how close visitors can get, but it's visible from the street.

Beautiful view and also sweet memorial to 41 along the water. Just lovely. A beautiful piece of history and a testament to love and family.

The Summer Home of George Herbert Walker Bush, 93, has been in his family since it was built in 1902. He & Barbara are held dear by the 3,000 residents of Kennebunkport, where they spend May-October of every year.
Set on a promontory that juts out into the rugged Atlantic Ocean, the estate has been Host to many foreign dignitaries as well as extended family members. So much history on this spot.

You can't get close but the view from across the water is pretty. If the flag is flying it is said to mean that members of the Bush family are at the residence.

You can pull off the road, climb down toward the water, and look at the Bush family compound. It's a nice old house, and also this stretch of coastline is very scenic.

What a “regular” person would call cottages are not what you see here. Absolutely beautiful properties with manicured lawns. Kennebunk and Kennebunkport are fantastic places to visit. Walker’s Point is exciting to see but you can’t stop and stare for obvious reasons. Even the Secret Service quarters are lovely. It is like being in a seaside wonderland. The shops and restaurants are great and the homes in town are worth walking up and down the streets although I’m not sure the residents like that. Wonderful people manning the shops. Glad we had the opportunity to,visit.

We walked from the Mansion into Kennebunkport and then to Walkers Point which was a 6 mile +/- walk.

What can you say? Holiday home of the Bush family but you can't actually visit - you can only see it from the road or the ocean. We passed it whilst on a tour but would not have made a special effort to visit.

Awesome Coast Line by Bush House. Spent my 35th wedding anniversary in a road trip . Visited Boston then Kennybuckport. Shopped downtown. Great sights awesome coast beauty. Did drive buy the bush compound. Lots of SUV s. Gate house and flag you can’t miss it. Enjoy.

Great place to drive and see the Maine coast. Beautiful homes and sea coast. Easy to walk on sidewalk and see the coast.

We had a very nice drive over to look at this attraction. It was very cool to be able to see up close where push and his family went.

Tourists parked on the side of the road to gawk at the wave-wracked estate. While we walked past, four vehicles on the estate’s driveway disgorged passengers. Two of them were black hearse-like SUVs with Secret Service details. The estate itself was neither particularly large nor especially scenic. Were it not for its summer use by two presidents, it’d hardly attract notice. As it was, it had become a tourist magnet, where fans of history and politics came to witness history and pay respects. Roadside parking was scarce on the road near the point, yet traffic was fairly light for a summer weekend afternoon. We appreciated all that we saw here, but we wouldn’t make a special trip just to see it.

There are lots of nice homes along this route, including former President George Bush's home. Also, seascape views are nice and good for photos.

Fantastic seascape and obviously nice to see where 2 former Presidents' get to spend their leisure time enjoying the pleasures and beauty of Mother Nature!
Parking can be difficult as it is very limited and the area is quite popular with tourists and tour buses!

It's another big house in the area. If it weren't for the owners, probably wouldn't be that popular.

Don't miss driving along Ocean Drive by the Bush compound to Cape P. and the lighthouse. A very beautiful Maine ride .Have a lobster in Cape Neddick .continue on to Biddeford Pool and experience a great part of true Maine....rocks and pine trees meet the ocean.ENJOY

Stunning as always, but this time was very emotional. We will always remember 41. I can't imagine being inside the compound looking out. It must be magical!

Have gone by there several times in the past few years whenever we’re in the Kennebunk Port area, always nice to see and it’s not that far off the road that you can enjoy the view.

Pretty neat to see Walker's Point while we were in the area, didn't really see many nice spots to park.

You can only see from a distance, but it is a beautiful area and there is a spot to pull off the road

It's a nice spot - Walker's Point - a scenic and dramatic location. It was interesting to read up on the story of the original owner.

The view across over to the point was nice to see part of the bush estate. Though it was raining, the drive there was nice to see the area and some past history. Was a photo opportunity and then drive on....

Wer came here for a photo opportunity. Fortunately it wasn't too crowded and we got some nice pictures.

We were in Kennebunkport on a Fall Color Tour on a cruise ship. Among other places, we were at Walker's Point. It certainly has a beautiful view for our former President and his family!

Pretty cool. Both President Bush were in house when we were here. Beautiful home. Worth the trip or drive to see this beautiful place

We visited Kennebunkport with our two kids (ages 7 & 8) in July 2017. We rented bikes and we bikes along Ocean Avenue. Walkers Point is a great place to visit while biking since we didn't have to worry about finding a parking spot in the area, and the entire ride is very scenic. We enjoyed our visit to Walkers Point and it was great to see the Bush compound. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family visiting the Kennebunkport area.

We stopped here while on an East coast road trip with friends, the views are stunning and you can see the George Bush estate from a turn out on the side of the road...what a beautiful place. The views from the coastal drive are spectacular.

Our drive in the rain and wind up to Walker’s Point didn’t diminish the beauty of the place. Maybe one day it will be open to the public.

You can see the Bush estate. Nice view. Surf was super strong. Its nice if you are in the area. Traffic can be tricky so maybe not worth a long drive to see it.

Be aware that you can’t actually go out to Walker’s point. The best place to see the summer home of the Bushes is to drive out Ocean Avenue until you get to the Blowing Cave area. From there you can look straight across to Walker’s point which features A beautiful large house and smaller cottages. Without a doubt it is the premier piece of real estate in the Kennebunk’s. There’s really nothing to do here other than spend five minutes looking at Walker’s point but if you are in the area it’s really something you should do.

This is a place we go to every year. We love to park at the overlook nearby and enjoy our morning coffee looking at the ocean. It is just a really special experience. We have even gone just as the sun set to enjoy the view. Highly recommend it.

Wonderful view of the Bush family home
hard to believe it was annihilated and fully restored
And Texas flag flies proudly under the Stars and Stripes

Once you have seen Walker's point you can understand why the Bush-Walker Family is established there. You can not get super close to the homes as it is well guarded but it is cleary visible from safe parking areas that provide a good view.

There are a few places where you can get a great view of Walker's Point. Worth the drive to see if you're in the area.

Recently drove by Walker’s Point. You cannot actually walk on the grounds, but just a view from across the cove. It seems like a very nice property that I wouldnt mind visiting.

Such a beautiful area. Maine has the most beautiful rocky coastline. A little sad seeing the Bush Estate knowing Barbara has passed. There was a tribute building with flowers, stinea and pearls. This area is a must see if you visit Kennebunkport

If you are in Kennebunkport drive by to see the Bush family compound. It is a spectacular view. You can stop and take pictures as well.

Loved being able to see the summer home of George H.W. Bush, which is still used by the Bush Family. When they are in residence, the flag is flying and you can see all the secret service cars on the property, of course only at a distance. There is a wonderful monument called Anchor to Windward dedicated to President Bush from the townspeople. It is right on Ocean Avenue and is ideally located so that you can take a picture of the monument with the family house in the background. If you are lucky you can see a waterspout forced by the incoming tide right at Cape Arundel near Walker's Point. There is a designated parking area available for tourists to make a short stop to get pictures of these sites.

We happened to visit here on the day President Bush died. It made a visit to this beautiful place even more meaningful. Looking at the rugged coastline and the ocean brings kinship with those who came before.

We did a quick stop at Walker's point to see their home and property....it is stunning. Worth the stop.

We took a boat out to explore the area around Kennybunkport. We learned lots about lobster fishing and had excellent views along some of the small but nice beaches in this area. We enjoyed seeing the Bush compound, even from a distance it looks a magnificent main building with lots of other smaller ones contained in a large number of acres, 10 I think we were told. Anyway seeing it from the sea was a bonus, we also drove past it later but it is less impressive from land.
Worth a quick stop. Get out of your car and walk around.
So you can't just walk on the compound, but pull over at the stop on Ocean's drive for a nice view of it plus for a real treat, get out and walk down the path towards Blowing Cave Park - it's similar to Thunder Hole on Mt. Desert Island. On your way down, you'll pass a plaque dedicated to the 41st President - George H.W. Bush.
Drive past the compound for another place to stop and see the other side of it. The neighborhood is filled with very nice homes and the drive is scenic. It's a great way to spend 20-30 minutes while you wait for downtown Kennebunkport to clear out a little.
