This was a fun adventure for us and informative as well. James and Kristen we delightful. Worth the visit for sure!

Head distiller James was our tour guide - very welcoming and happy to answer any questions. Free tastings and tour. The peach and pina colada were outstanding.

Our family visited Walton's just a few days ago and really had a good visit. Small operation with friendly staff. Since it was just our family, we had a private tour and sampling. Yum. They also have several events during the year with free food and music so people can come see, hear and interact. Nice gift store too. Check it out if you are in the area you won't be disappointed.

Visited your shop this last Saturday and we had a great time. Logan was a great tour guide and you can tell how passionate he is about his job! Kristen did a great job selling us quite a few things and she made the tastings fun as well.

You know it’s a great local experience when you are greeted at the door by the owner. Very nice tour and pour by the staff.

Definitely a hidden gem. Tour was awesome, the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! The flavored moonshine is super tasty.

This was a different sort of outing for us. It turned out great! I had read the reviews and they were all true. Free tour of an American small business! And free tastings of some excellent moonshine, whiskey, and bourbon. Distiller and guide Logan was informative, friendly, and fun. Bar Keep/office manager Kristen was the same as she walked us through eight different samples. Take the time to check out the exhibits in the store (stills they actually built and used).

We really enjoyed our visit to the distillery. Ryan, Zachary and James were all very friendly and amenable. Ryan gave us a conducted tour, was naturally very knowledgeable and passionate about the products and the business and answered our questions patiently. We enjoyed the free samples of moonshine which warmed us up even further on a warm day! There was a wide variety of souvenirs on offer and there was ample parking. We highly recommend a visit. Thanks to the staff for being so hospitable and welcoming.

My husband, our two sons (15 & 14), and I visited because it was a rainy day on Emerald Isle. We were given a fantastic tour by James. James took us to each of the buildings and he explained each of the processes of making corn whiskey, bourbon, and moonshine. We were able to see all the barrels aging in one of the buildings. We were excited to hear the future plans for rum and the first bottling of the bourbon. We headed to the gift shop where James gave my husband and me tastings of the products. We really enjoyed the Salted caramel and the apple pie and left with a mason jar of each! We also left with NC Moonshine and a bottle of whiskey!! And I don't even really drink!! This was a great field trip and we will be back next vacation to check on the rum!!

We are visiting from NH and had a great tour. Lots of fascinating information and history! After the tour we enjoyed tasting the products and bought some to take home. We even had a personal guitar concert! Fabulous voice! The ladies recommended Marina Cafe for lunch and it did not disappoint! Delicious meals and drinks! A fun day!

This location is a great place to visit with family, friends and out of town guests. James did a super job on our tour and answered all of our questions. He was extremely knowledgeable on the total process. The tastings were delicious and we came home with several different mason jars. Also, one Saturday each month during most of the have a open house with music and foods! We will definitely be coming back!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. James gave us a tour of both buildings and answered all of our questions. Had a great tasting of the moonshines and whiskey! Very enjoyable, glad we made the stop as we were driving through the area.

Had an amazing time learning about the different stages in the process. James was an awesome guide and was very knowledgeable! Thanks for the bacon tip!! The salted caramel moonshine is amazing!

Walton's is a great, small family owned distillery in Onslow County. Roughly once a month they have an open house with bluegrass, BBQ and tours and samples of all of their great products, but Mr. Walton was kind enough to tell me that you can stop by most any day and if they have time they'll show you around. It was great to see the process up close and get the explanation from the experts.
They have a handful of great tasting products, but I'm partial to the corn whiskey.

We had a great time! Our tour guide was very informative, knowledgeable and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and enjoyed the taste testing!

I took a day trip with some friends to visit this distillery. While none of us are real moonshine or whiskey drinkers, we had a great time.
We drove a few hours to get here and when we saw the small metal building alongside the road, we wondered if we were even at the right place, but it turned out to be fun.
We entered through the large overhead garage door instead of the distillery store door at the request of Zachary, one of the employees. James was sweeping the floor when we arrived and he promptly became our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about everything. We learned and saw how the moonshine is made, the fermented mash barrels, the newly filled bourbon barrels (it takes two years for that to be ready), the whiskey barrels, the different types of glass containers, the labeling machine, etc. It was very interesting.
We also spent a bit of time in their fun store - they sell everything from moonshine to hillbilly hats! Because of NC state law you can only purchase one bottle of liquor in any size per person of legal age, per visit.
The distillery offers catered events most months with live music.
They offer tastings in the store of the moonshine, whiskey, and new flavors they are working on which have yet to be bottled.
The Apple Pie Moonshine is delicious!!
This company strives to buy local for all their ingredients too!

Wife and I decided to go to the open house at Walton' s Distillery, after seeing info a about it on Facebook. Had a wonderful time! We were treated to free barbeque and fried chicken, live entertainment, and free samples of their products. We really liked the apple pie moonshine and the salted caramel moonshine. The staff was great. Will definitely be back and would surely recommend it to anyone that has a little fee time that they would line to spend in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere!

We had a great tour & tasting today. Very interesting & informative. We are from CA visiting relatives in NC. We arrived near closing time but never felt rushed & felt like we were VIP’s. We know our friends will love the products we are bringing home for all to try & enjoy!

We visited today 7/20/2020 and we enjoyed our visit took the tour very knowledgeable staff, tried a few samples and ended up purchasing a couple products

Fun place to spend an hour or two. Tour was fun and informative and all the tasting was worth it. Great flavored moonshine and more.

My husband and I stopped by to check it out. Took a small tour and tasting. Love to support and shop local business!

Been wanting to go for a while and I'm sooo glad I did. Great place with friendly knowledgeable staff. Excellent products. I will definitely go again.

We visited Walton’s Distillery while visit our marine son. What a great family distillery! The tours are super friendly and personal! It’s a great stop if your in the Jacksonville area!

James did an amazing job with the tour and tasting!!!! He did a great job explaining everything to us.

We took the tour that was guided by James. He is extremely knowledgeable, and was eager to answer questions. We highly recommend taking a tour. The gift shop was reasonably priced as well.

Worth the visit, then another one, and another. Word is they are expanding too! Took the kids with us and they enjoyed learning about the process of making shine. Looking forward to the family fun day offerings and some more shine.

My Dad and I went to Walton's Distillery last weekend from a Groupon we received. As someone who loves Bourbon it was an amazing experience to see the aging process in the dozens of oak barrels in their second warehouse. Mr. Walton has an a passion for this craft that is palpable and you can tell this by how involved he makes each individual feel. Getting to see the process from beginning to end was a fascinating experience and for the time you're there it feels that you step back in time when things were much simpler. Do not be deceived by the this simpleness however, a lot of thought, care, and heart goes into each step of the process and each product produced. Can't wait to see more from this distillery, Cheers!

Locally owned and operated, a place where they still do everything with care, and by hand.
A fun and informative tour and really good moonshine and whiskey.
A hidden gem in Onslow County if your looking for something to do.

This place is wonderful. We rented the venue and the employees were so friendly and the food was great. We were taken very good care of. A beautiful building with the perfect rustic choices. We will be going there again. Loved it

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The open house was kind of like stepping back in time to Mayberry. Just a good time with good people, bluegrass music, fried chicken, bbq and some very tasty whiskey/shine. My favorites are the corn whiskey, 100 proof moonshine, and salted caramel flavored moonshine.

My girlfriend and I visited today and it was great. We went on the free tour and got to see the whole process of how they distill their whiskey and moonshine. We also got to see the bourbon barrels too. The staff were all very friendly and explained how everything works in an easy way for us to understand. Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something fun to do in Jacksonville.

My husband recently discovered this moonshine and it was just pure luck that we were going to be in the area. We looked up what to do in Jacksonville on trip advisor and it pops up as the #1 item. The tour was interesting and they answered all of our questions with patience. The tasting was better than the wine tastings we have been to and we left happy to have stopped.

Okay so it was our first Moonshine distillery tour but what a wonderful and personal experience. Thank you James for taking time to explain each step of the process to make Moonshine and whiskey. I know we will see and taste more about Walton's Moonshine in the near future.

While visiting our kids in Jacksonville. We all decided to load up and go to Waltons Distillery for a free tour and tasting! Donald ( who is the owner ) was very friendly and of course very knowledgeable! The Apple Pie Moonshine was the greatest we have ever tasted! The Whisky is powerful but smooth! Great little gift shop with lots of neat items to purchase! We will definitely visit again when they start selling their peach, salted caramel and pina colada! We can't wait! I'm sure we will return sooner for more Apple Pie Moonshine! We highly recommend the visit!

We had a great tour. James was very friendly and lots of information on the whole process. Very clean and cute gift shop.

It was a great experience and I would recommend everyone to check it out. It was a real down home feeling and way better than I was even expecting. I learned an awful lot about the distillery business and Walton's in particular.

I heard about the distillery in the paper and saw they were having an open house event and that they would be having free food and music. So of course my friends and I had to stop and visit! The distillery is a little out of the way but so worth it. It was so much fun my friends and I hung out all day. They were even giving out samples of their whiskey and moonshine for free! We had lots of fun talking to James and Peggy and they let us try some moonshine flavors they were still testing. Such a fun visit and highly recommended! Ps- try the Apple Pie Moonshine! It's wonderful!

Stopped by Walton’s as we were passing though in our camper recently. Can’t drive past a distillery and not go in!
Kristen was awesome, super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! She gave us a free moonshine tasting, 9 different kinds of moonshine (I had no idea there could be that many or that the taste an alcohol content can vary that much!)
Loved the salted caramel and the apple pie especially, but if you’re not into sweet, the bourbon/Smokey one was delicious too!
If you’re in the area or passing though I highly recommend stopping here for a tour and a tasting, you won’t be disappointed.

This was our first trip to a distillery and we learned a lot from our tour guide. A great place to not only learn about making liquor but great tasting liquor too!

Took my husband for a something to do on a cold rainy day. They were so warm and welcoming. The tour guide, James, was very knowledgeable about the Moonshine making process. I tried all of the moonshines, my husband tried all but the apple pie. I liked the apple pie and the salted caramel, he liked the peach and salted caramel. A jar of salted caramel came home with us. We booked our tour thru Groupon and got free gifts from Walton’s.

We had a fantastic tour of the facility by James who was very friendly and informative.
It’s a small place but very interesting and you can get up close to the production and learn how moonshine and whisky are made. We would never be able to see anything like this at home in the UK.
Thanks for making our brief stop so enjoyable!!

My husband and I really enjoyed our visit to the distillery. The tour was full of great information about the science of producing alcohol and all the associated regulations. We were able to sample as many of the current products as we wanted - which were all good. Definitely worth the trip!

We arrived in Jacksonville early afternoon and it was raining. We checked into our hotel and went on Trip Advisor for things to do. Walton's Distillery came up so we drove to it. We were greeted by staff--the men working in the Distillery. James offered to give us a tour. No waiting for tour times, just when you arrive. It was just my husband and me so we got to ask questions, etc. The process was fascinating, especially the stills. After the personal tour, we went into the cute gift shop for our tasting. It was quite interesting to do the tasting after the tour where we learned the process for each drink. James was amazingly knowledgable and didn't rush us at all. We bought 3 bottles, two moonshines and one whiskey. It was a perfect activity for the afternoon. The staff then recommended a local restaurant for us which was perfect--Bakers. Walton's is a great story and good way to spend a few hours.

My husband and I took the tour yesterday and we really enjoyed it. A small batch distillery with a very nice staff on the tour and the tasting. Cool unique gift shop with different type items. I am a firm believer in supporting local business and products. If you have a couple of hours on the weekend and you would like to do something a little different I highly recommend this!

Ten of us from the New Bern Elk Lodge 764 descended upon James who took us interested and wannabe "moonshiners" on an educational tour of this distillery. "Head, Heart and Tail" addresses what you need to know about the part of the distilling process you can drink. We spent almost an hour asking questions making the tour interesting for both James and the gang. Afterward, we went inside the store to sip and purchase bottles of moonshine, corn whisky and the best tasting desert drink ever...Kitty Walton's Apple Pie Moonshine. This is the real deal. This is how moonshine is made from old recipes established in the "woods." It was a fun trip.

All of the liquor we tried was so yummy and so strong. Only negative was we couldn’t do a tour since the people working were leaving soon.

What a great place. Super friendly, lots of different samples, no cover or tasking charge. Best of all, they plan several events a year with free food, music, and of course tastings. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. I learned a lot. I always thought moonshine was harsh, wait until you taste their flavored moonshine, you'll think you're eating apple pie!

My wife and I are members of Harvest Host and saw that Walton's Distillery was a host. So, we called them to make sure they had a spot for us and they were so pleasant and friendly. Sadly, we did not make our deadline and called to let them know we would not be there when expected, but would make sure to visit when we got to Jacksonville. Kristen was so helpful. She said that when we got there to just go right ahead and park for the night and they would see us the next morning. So we did. We arrived after hours, pulled into the RV designated area, parked, exercised our legs a bit on their large wooded lot and hit the sack. Even though the lot is by the road with a slight tree line between them it was relatively quiet. We awoke the next morning feeling refreshed and were met by James at around 9:40am for a welcoming hello and a free personal tour. Highly recommend visiting and trying their delicious spirits.

Took a tour and tasting today! Don the owner was very nice and friendly. His son gave us a tour and thought us the process for making their shine. This was some of the best moon shine I have ever drunk! If you are in the area stop by and do the free tasting. I guarantee you will enjoy the tour and moon shine!

Daughter, sister and I did the tour and tasting. Enjoyed the bourbon and moonshine. Great flavored moonshine. Peach, apple pie, pina colada . All very good. James was a great tour guide and also did our tastings. He did a great job. If you like Bourbon and or Moonshine highly recommend a visit there!

These guys were great! And the moonshine is excellent. I have had the stuff from Gatlinburg and this is far better! Highly recommend trying it. They don't charge to taste the moonshine and it's not overpriced. They also have a great gift shop.

We came from Arizona and stopped here to see how moonshine was made. Our tour was excellent they were able to answer all of our questions and the moonshine was amazing. Although we weren’t able to purchase the day we went on the tour we are now going back just so we can purchase our moonshine to take home.

Visiting family in Jacksonville, NC and was looking for something to do locally. We’ve been on several distillery tours and this was definitely one of my favorites. I really enjoy visiting the smaller distilleries and the more intimate style tours. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

This place may be small but there is so much to learn and see! James took so much time with my husband and I to show us every step in the process of making shine. I cannot say enough about this guy!!! He was very educated in the field and even had some fun personal stories to add to it! The gift shop was amazing as well. I actually has to stop my husband from bringing items to the register...lol. The tasting is a great touch and the flavors are great...especially the Apple pie!

A nice distillery with local spirits. The staff are friendly and helpful and explained their process and history of the distillery well. Oh, and the whiskeys are excellent!

I am not a drinker, but really enjoyed myself. The entire visit was a blast beginning to end. After an interesting and educated tour of how moonshine is made, we did a tasting of the products they retail. Logan was funny and provided a great experience. We had a blast and are excited to visit again.

My husband and I went there out of boredom and were pleasantly surprised at what an interesting place this is. We had tasted their products before and thought it would be fun to see the distillery. The gift store had a lot of interesting finds as well as plenty of their delicious alcoholic products available for purchase. We were given a tour by the owner's son who was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the business. I highly recommend this as a very interesting place and they make a great product as well! Cheers!

We visited with a group of about 20 people from our nearby “newcomers” club. We called a week or so before the visit to let them know the group was coming, so they were ready for us. “The professor” brought us through the facility and explained the history and the distilling process for each of their products. We then saw the stored barrels and learned more about the process to bring the product to market (and the many regulations they must follow). Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and gave a great overview. Afterwards, some of the group went to begin the tasting, while others stayed back to ask more detailed questions and learn more. The tasting was also a lot of fun and included everything from traditional moonshine and bourbon to salted caramel and apple pie flavored moonshine (my personal favorite was the peach flavor—I think it will go great in iced tea). And while we had a chance to taste all the flavors, the total each person drank was probably less than an ounce—so no worries about driving. The gift shop has the Walton’s products and lots of fun gifts for the non-drinker, if you’re so inclined. It was a great day trip for our group.

Highly recommend you take the time to stop by! We did the tour and tasted some moonshine. We did not leave empty handed as the variety they offer is great. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly 😊

Our guide James was very knowlegable on the moonshine and liquor making process. I recommend anyone take a tour of this growing local business.

We found Walton's under things to do in Jacksonville when we were visiting family in NC. Upon arriving at the distillery, we were immediately greeted by James and he offered to take us on the tour. My husband and I found James very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. At the end of the tour, James took us to the tasting room where we proceeded to buy one of each of the products they distilled there after tasting all of it. I highly recommended visiting Walton's Distillery!

We stopped in late one Friday afternoon and had a quick tour - saw their new barrels and all the stills. Low production distillery but high quality and mighty fine taste. Enjoy! And bring your grass - bluegrass that is!

We found this great ‘hidden gem’ on our drive from Southport to New Bern, NC!! Headed up the gravel driveway, right away we were greeted, welcomed in, asked if we had questions. We opted for the tour, very informative and interesting. It was just us and my husband took this advantage to ask ALL the questions, which were welcomed and answered! After, we enjoyed the tasting, unfortunately we were flying the next day so we had to be choosy otherwise I would have bought one of each!! We opted for a bottle of Premium Select which my husband loves in his old fashioned, a bottle of the Salted Caramel the Apple Pie! Yummmmm…put them together in some warm Apple cider!! Great place, great people, GREAT moonshine & Whiskey! This is a MUST STOP if you’re on a drive! The inside is full of nostalgia too! Our only gripe… we wish you sold in Wisconsin!!! We need more! lol ❤️

Friendly and informative, came here when we were looking for something to do on a rainy day and it did not disappoint. Straight moonshine was a little strong for me but even my wife loved the peach

Great spot for a overnight er. The tour of the distillery was awesome and very informative. The different types of whisky and spirits were worth the trip. i will be returning soon. I'm actually hopping there aged barrel whisky is final ready for sale!

Great service staff was treating everyone like family.the day we went they had catered food from smithfield chicken and bbq.and great bluegrass.and it was all free to the public.i felt like i was at a family gathering it was relaxing.everyone should set the gps and go check out whats good.u wont be sorry u did.

We had a great time learning about moonshine, bourbon and whiskey. Our tour guide was informative and we enjoyed the tastings and learning about the distilling process. The gift shop is great and we bought several items to take home. We were traveling with small children and we felt welcome and were able to enjoy the tour and tastings. One of my favorite North Carolina experiences!

A few miles off the beaten path, but worth it! Really friendly staff and a great small distillery. A must do, if you're in the area. It's awesome that they are making top notch moonshine from an old family recipe. The tour was informative and fun, but the tasting was better!

When we first arrived to the distillery, for a tour and tasting, we were unsure if we were in the right place. There were few cars out front and the distillery operates out of one building. As we got close, James, our soon to be tour guide, saw us and ushered us inside the distillery where the magic happens.
Previously I had only taken tours of breweries so my knowledge of what went on in a distillery was low. James was very informative and explained the whole process for the moonshine and whiskey that is being made. Any questions I had, and I had a few, were quickly answered by James.
At the end of the tour we were shown to the gift shop area for the tasting. There are three products that Walton's currently has. Their whiskey, moonshine, and apple pie moonshine. The whiskey was some of the best I have sampled and ends with a great finish. The apple pie moonshine was also a favorite as I felt it had great favoring. The gift shop also has a bunch of whimsical items for sale.
Luckily for our group, a law in NC had just pasted the previous day allowing for customers to purchase up to five bottles a year from the distillery. Two days prior you could only purchase one bottle. This new law worked well for me as I purchased a whiskey and two bottles of the apple pie moonshine.
Overall great product and friendly informative staff. Would recommend coming in for a tasting and learning about the process. We spent about an hour there between the tour tasting and looking around the gift shop.

Great short stop if you are in the area. Enjoyed our tour, and the inside look at how the business is ran .

Cool place to visit. Try all the moonshines! Nice people, good food! Stop by the gift store, they got cool souvenirs

This was a fun place to visit! We (my husband, my adult son and I) were warmly greeted by several of the employees. Gray gave us an informative tour of the distillery and provided a lot of interesting information on the history of making moonshine and whiskey, as well as explaining how their equipment works and how they make their products. The gift shop staff was equally hospitable! Having the opportunity to try the products was a bonus! We highly recommend taking a little time to stop by and support this local business.

Everyone was nice and enthusiastic about what they were doing. It was awesome to see the distillery at work!

My husband and I enjoy a good whiskey and were looking for things to do in Jacksonville. Walton's is off a beautiful, winding drive and was worth driving an hour to go see! The owner and founder of the distillery personally gave us a private tour of the entire place. He explained the processes, and his passion and motivation for this business was obvious. He took time out of his day to answer our questions and gave us a free tasting. Of course, we bought 2 each of the whiskey and apple pie moonshine! Highly recommend making this a destination to visit and not just a side trip.

Had a great time! Tour guide James was very informative. My husband and I enjoyed this. The information and the taste testing all worth the trip out there. Will be letting prople know of this place.

Small distillery. I like the way that the guys who work there, stop what they are doing and take you on tour of the distillery. From the beginning making the mash all the way up to bottling. The gift shop is cute. The tasting was enjoyable also. Can’t wait to go back and bring some friends with us!

My husband and I were visiting family nearby. They had not been to the distillery, so we decided to go for a tour and tasting. I am so glad we did! The people were so friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the company and moonshine itself. Then there was the tasting. Great flavors! They really know what they are doing there. Thanks for a great time!

We were in the area visiting family for the weekend, and looking to see what was around locally to see or do and happened across a web site talking about the distillery and decided to check it out. Ended up having a private tour from the "newest employee" there, then taste test of everything. The staff was very friendly and glad to show us around, definitely would recommend to others.

What a great little find! Something here for everyone who enjoys craftsmanship. We decided to check this place out. Just 15 minutes from Jacksonville. Easy drive through the countryside. The FREE tour was not only fun, but you can actually learn something. Making good whiskey and moonshine is a craft. Here you can try and purchase Corn Whiskey, straight moonshine, one year aged moonsgine-one of my favorites, peach moonshine, salted caramel moonshine (I bought two, it's that good) Vodka. The price is right, the tour is Free, the owner and his son will take the time to make your visit fantastic. Next time I am back I will return to load back up. Don't leave the area without coming here.

Took the very informative tour and now I know why the other "So Called Moonshines" taste so bad. The tastings were excellent. The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable on their products and processes. All their flavors were quite good. There is something for just a bout every taste. I bought a bottle of the Peach but a friend bought 3 various bottles. Not too far out of town and well worth the 15 minute drive.

Fantastic outing with my Masonic Lodge, Semper Fidelis #680 this afternoon. Thank you to the Staff at Walton’s Distillery for taking us on the tour of your facility, and educating us on the various processes that are involved in the production of you whiskey, bourbon, and moonshine. We greatly appreciate the time that you all took to answer our questions, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future. I highly recommend the Peach and Pineapple Moonshine!

My wife and I had some time to pass while waiting in Jacksonville, NC and decided to make the 15 minute trip to check this out. The friendliest staff and our tour with James was so informative. This distillery is here to stay and is making great name for themselves in the whiskey and bourbon industry. They go out of the way to get it all right in house. Clean, cozy and holding onto the the moonshine legacy that the Eastern US is famous for!

Found the distillery on the internet and decided we had to go. Got to get in depth knowledge on the basics of distilling. Great knowledge, great samples!!

Wonderful distillery! We did a tour with one of the workers who was super nice and very informative. He answered all of our questions and we got to taste test! Highly recommend

Always have a wonderful time listening to the music and enjoying good food. Always feel at home among friends.

We loved the tour and our time at Walton’s Distillery. We found it through Harvest Host and Kristen took good care of us. We got the Apple Pie moonshine and the Straight bourbon whiskey. I can’t wait to get some Peach moonshine during the summer to mix with some iced tea. Thank you all for a wonderful experience!

The tour experience was great and, it seemed, could be made as long or short as you want. Very friendly and very knowledgeable guide, highly recommended. Out tasting was fantastic. Got to try a wide range of excellent products presented by an outstanding tasting guide. She explained each drink in detail and was extremely courteous and professional. This is a must do for anyone in the area.

Had a great time going on the tour and moonshine tastings today. Been to Gatlinburg TN. For moonshine tastings in the past and I can honestly say Waltons moonshines and whiskey/bourbon is better than anything we had in TN.

We stopped in at Walton’s Distillery for the tour and tasting
Nice tour and tasting and were at no charge all is local and learned a lot

Me And My culinary classmates visited Waltons today. Had a great time and learn the moonshine process. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took his time to explain the process of making it and the important of barrels and how they play apart. After that came the tasting I really like the peach and salted caramel. Excellent shine.

Kristen jones was amazing. Selling us on all products. Tour was great to. Everyone was so kind and friendly. Cant wait to try the shine

They took us on a tour within minutes of our arrival.
Really good people, really good business, really good booze and much worth a visit.

My wife and I took the tour and the brewmaster was GREAT. The gift shop was reasonably priced and the shine was excellent!

Enjoyed the tour and and tasting . The gift shop is also nice with lots of interesting items . When we first pulled up and just seen the two metal buildings we were not expecting much but soon as we walked in I was impressed and our guide that day was very nice and knowledgeable .

Today I had a awesome time at the Walton's Distillery with my Culinary Arts Class. We learned a lot about brewing Whiskey and Moonshine. My favorite part was going to the little store that the had on the grounds. It was great. The tastings was fun to, I liked the sweet moonshine over the plain ones. Can't wait to make a trip back.

The tour was great and their products were even better. The salted caramel was my personal favorite. Very cute place and the staff is friendly too. Oh and their bottles are made in America.

Great informative tour with a very tasty sampling. Owner is very friendly and outstanding! Recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good moonshine.

Great place, super nice people! James gave us a personal tour, answered all our questions, and really knew his stuff. The tasting was given by the owner and was a blast. A must see!

Had a great visit learning about how moonshine and bourbon are made here. Tastings are free and the guide was super helpful in explaining their process. We, of course, had to pick up a couple of varieties. :-)

I was in town from Ohio and looking for an adventure. We took the trip and it was a great experience. The tour was amazing and the tastings were great. Ended up with a trunk full of goodies.

We really enjoyed our tour this morning, James was every knowledgeable with explaining the process as well.

I was taken back by our guide John, he knows his stuff and he super friendly and answers ever single question we had with a smile. He made our tour a delight. I don't drink because I have never liked the flavor of any alcohol but boy was I glad I stepped out of my confort zone and tried all three of the products they had available, delicious! But I could not leave the distillery without purchasing as many as my luggage could hold of Kitty Walton's Apple Pie Moonshine; it is absolutely delicious and chilled is pretty much turning this none drinker an alcoholic. Jk but it is pretty much the best apple pie you have ever had with a wonderful secret ingredient. Must visit the Walton's Distillery. I can't wait to try their flavor!

Really interesting and insightful visit. Gray was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. Walton's Distillery is an absolute must if you have any interest at all about how spirits are distilled. Did you know all liquor entering North Carolina has to be filtered through a single distribution point? Just one fun fact you'll learn about!

James was very knowledge and the tour was great! Will suggest to everyone. Can’t wait to attend one of their monthly get togethers. Thanks again.

My husband and I went to visit our daughter in the marines, when is stationed in the area and too us to the distillery. It was an informative learning experience. Logan our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us the best tour possible. All the staff there were more than friendly, which made it such an enjoyable adventure. Of course the samples were the best and we now can enjoy it at home , back in PA. Thanks for such a great time. Dee

Four of us just stopped in and were welcomed immediately!!!! The tour was very informative. The shop was great!!!!! The tasting left you wanting to buy one of each!!!!!

Such a cool place!!! Learned a lot about what goes into making liquor. Also the tour guide was an all around good dude and super knowledgeable! Plus the place smelled like yummy apples. + Great decor and historic aesthetic

We took the kids for a chemistry outing. They saw the process on this very informative tour. I highly recommend this family friendly distillery.

We had a great time visiting Walton’s Distillery today. The staff was amazing and very helpful and hardworking. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and offered a tour immediately. The tour was very insightful and so much fun. The taste testing of the alcohol was included in the tour as well. Thank you to the staff for a great a experience. We will definitely be back again and especially for your weekend music and lunches coming up in October. I would 10/010 recommend this place to anyone!

Try the piña colada moonshine! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back.

What a fun place to visit. We had a very informative tour of the distillery. Free tasting. Loved the store. And it was all FREE.

The distillery, although small, was a very personal and informative tour walking us through how whiskey and moonshine has been distilled over the years and they explained the technology that they have in the shop showing not only how they are distilled but the advancements over the years. Last but most certainly not least was the tasting of their recipes. My personal favorites were the Salted Caramel and the Apple Pie. I als can't wait till their bourbon is finished cause I will certainly be making a trip back to sample their bourbon.

Drove about an hour to get to the distillery. I called the day before to make sure they were going to be open today. We get there and all the doors were locked but we heard people inside. :( no moonshine for us today.

Guided tour of small, hands-on distillery was great! The owner, Don, took us through his property and answered every question we had. It became obvious that he not only knows his stuff; he loves what he is doing. My wife and I visited Jacksonville and found this quaint family-run operation. Everything is done with care and with love for the art of distilling corn whiskey and moonshine. We thoroughly enjoyed taste-testing the free samples. We purchased what we could bring back to NH. Now we're praying that Don can get his on-line sales up and running so we can enjoy his delicious products well into the future. Thank you, Don!

I went on a date with my wife to Donald Walton’s distillery. We had a great time, enjoyed great food pairing with tastings. All were great tastings, my favorite was the Bloody Mary, which was done with their vodka. We also went on a tour and it’s amazing how they came to be and how the process their goods. Would highly recommend couples to go for a good peaceful evening to enjoy their tastings and food if available again. Such a great night. Yes they do sell barrels of moonshine or bourbon lol

This is a most do while in Jacksonville! Very interesting tour on how moonshine & whiskey are made. You get to taste all they offer once the tour is complete.

Have lived nearby for years and finally got to visit Walton’s Distillery. This is a place that you should make a priority to visit! The tour is nice and then you get to enjoy the treat of tasting a large variety of favorites crafted from their old family recipe. The moonshine and whiskey are good but I still give the prize to their bourbon whiskey! I loved hearing about the processes that are involved in making a good quality moonshine and adding flavor. No doubt though, you just can’t beat the smooth bourbon whiskey! The gift shop offers quite a nice selection of items to remember your visit as well. We plan to visit again.

Drove up from Clearwater, FL and looking for something to do, happened upon Walton's Distillery and thought, "Why not?" Had a great time on the tour, very interesting process. Sampled the Apple Pie Moonshine and left the store with max capacity. Coming soon - Peach, Piñata Colada, and Butterscotch Moonshine. Road trip!

Passing through Jacksonville and saw this was recommended on Trip Advisor. Staff was very knowledgeable, and the tour and tasting were interesting. Too bad that the law does not allow them to ship, or we would be loyal customers from Texas. The flavored moonshine was outstanding and the best ever tasted. I took samples back in checked luggage and shared with my book club, and they loved them. Salted caramel moonshine was the overall favorite. If they are ever allowed to ship, I will definitely order. Totally recommended.

What a surprise! We really enjoyed the small business and personal tour. The premium plus the salted caramel ❤️.

Saw this place on top 10 things to do in Jacksonville, NC and Walton's Distillery popped up so we thought, why not! Arrived in the afternoon and followed the sign that stated patrons enter by side door. Finding the side door locked, we saw another sign that said to use the other door. Walking around to that door, the staff saw us and waved us in. Grey greeted us and basically went right into the tour. Grey showed us how the moonshine and whiskey was made. Took us though the process in each step and answered all of the questions we had. Showed us the barrels they are using to make bourbon and the time it takes to make it. Very interesting and you will have to go to get the answers. Went to the gift shop and given a taste of the products. To say the least, they have some mighty tasteful moonshine and bourbon. We were fortunate enough to taste the bourbon because it was just ready to drink. Very smooth. All in all Grey and his Father educated us on the making, the distribution of it and much more. A lot of information and great to learn. I say go and enjoy.

The workers were extremely knowledgable and friendly. We had a great time and will definitely be telling friends aswell as returning. It was hard to choose a favorite product, they're all delicious! We went with Apple Pie Moonshine (this time😉)

We were looking for something to do while visiting family here in N.C and found Walton's. Tour was very informative, all our questions were answered and guide shared interesting facts. The product was great as well!

Went to Walton’s since we were fairly close in New Bern. We were given a personal tour as we were the only ones there beside a couple of guys who work there. One young man went through the entire process with us from beginning to end. We then went to a tasting and I liked the aged so much a purchased a bottle and a shot glass. If you have never been to a distillery then I recommend Walton’s as they are very friendly and give you a nice tour.

Visited on a field trip with the culinary department. Was shown the entire distillery and was able to taste the moonshine! Cutest gift shop and bought 2 bottles on the site! Will be buying more of the apple pie moonshine

So I had an afternoon to kill and decided to research what was around the area. This place popped up and it was such a nice experience! When I arrived I was greeted very warmly by the staff and offered a tour which I took. This is a lovely family business and at the end of the tour I was offered a free tasting. I went home with the salted caramel bourbon which was fantastic. Definitely thumbs up for this distillery business. I would recommend it highly!

Kristen Jones did an outstanding job with our tasting today. I decided to take some friends out to the distillery who had never been. We especially liked the Peach and Apple Pie moonshine. Although we opted to not participate in the tour, they offer them free of charge every 30 minutes.

This distillery is outside of Jackson, but worth the side trip and the short tour. Be sure to taste the Apple Pie Shine and if you are brave, Junior Walton’s Premium Select. The gift shop carries all sorts of doodads, what-nots and geegaws. You can also buy your favorite shine.

My wife and I are in the Jacksonville, NC area this week and decided to see some of the sites. We aren't drinkers but have watched TV shows about moonshine making in the appalachean mountains and this peaqued our interest.
We found the public entrance door locked, but had read on trip advisor to come around to the side door if it was.
There we were welcomed by Zack who provided a great tour that explained the process of making each of their products and showed us the bottling and labeling process.
We we're then invited into the store/tasting area where we enjoyed taste testing their products and hearing the history of moonshine making and seeing the displays.
Sadly they were out of the Apple Pie Shine miniature bottles in the store (though we could see pallets of them in the production area), which was what I wanted and I didn't want to purchase a single larger bottle. I did buy some shine infused wood chips to use in the smoker the next time I grill out.
I highly recommend this as a great get away - a little off the beaten path- but well worth the visit.

We had so much fun!!
We've been in town for a week visiting our son & his family, planning on leaving this evening after we pick the grandkids up from school.
Sitting at their house this morning, we started googling what to do in the area & ended up here!
So glad we did. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, and everyone was incredibly friendly!
We did a tasting first, and then a tour. The place isn't super big what space they have, they make the most of it & provide a lot of insight to their business, a few smiles & some great conversation.
Before we left, we got to learn about their free, family friendly, music events in April & May. Sure wish we lived closer so we could attend but we'll definitely be back when in the area!

My husband and I really enjoyed the tour. The employees are very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. They even source local corn for their product! The tasting afterwards was fun as well, they definitely make high quality moonshine. We will absolutely be going back!

The tour was of the facility and the process of distilling was very interesting and my son and I learned alot. They like that you ask lots of questions and enjoyed explaining all the stations. Then the best part if your of age, you can taste all the flavors and purchase items from the gift shop

Amazing staff. James and Zach are the pinnacle of professionalism and showed a very high level of product and distillery knowledge. Highly recommended. They welcomed us with open arms and were super awesome.

We went on a Friday afternoon and were greeted by James. He gave us an excellent tour and had a very indepth knowledge of the distilling process. He was able to clearly articulate their process and visions for the future. The store is full of awesome items for sale and great prices. Highly recommended for everyone

Short tour, great people! Awesome little shop and the best shine I’ve had!!! Highly recommend! All the flavors are amazing. I will definitely be back!

It's Family run and owned. Women's recipe with great story of their family history how Distillery came to be. Currently run by the youngest son who gave a fantastic tour and tasting. This Company while paying homage to..is not stuck in the past thinking outside the box when it comes to FLAVORS! Must stop for all Solo, Friends, Business, Family, Couples and Newlyweds!

This distillery is very unassuming from the outside. It looks like a couple of warehouses; however, once we went inside and the tour began, we were pleasantly surprised. James was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the process and clearly answered all of our questions thoroughly. He then showed us into the tasting room where he provided us a complimentary tasting of all of their liquors to include one that hasn’t been released yet. The appearance of the tasting room was rustic and filled with family history and plenty of unique merchandise. All of the whiskies were delicious and fairly priced. Overall we had a wonderful experience and will be back! Highly recommended.

So I was taken here by family that is local to Jacksonville N.C.. They had gone the day before done the tour and tasting. When I arrived at their house we enjoyed some of the bourbon and moonshine they purchased and we decided to all go the next day. They went through the tour and tasting again with me and had a great time, with new questions. Logan was great, knowledgeable and fun. Mr. Walton was in the tasting room, carried on conversation as if we were all family. When I run out of my new supplies I will definitely look locally here in Virginia Beach or make it a regular stop when I'm in Jacksonville again. My wife lives the moonshine because they have great flavors that are not too strong. My favorite is the bourbon. Look for it where you live or if your in Jacksonville make a stop you won't be disappointed.

This was a great tour. James did a wonderful job explaining what they do here and what they are hoping to Branch out to. The samples were good and the price was very affordable. Thank you for such a great experience.

We stopped by Walton's Distillery as we were passing through NC on our way to Florida. Logan gave a very informative tour and Kristen gave us a fun whiskey and moonshine tasting. We would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. The peach moonshine was our favorite.

We came for the food, but the music was wonderful also. While having all you can eat, you can also enjoy bluegrass music which make it more fun.

I am here visiting my family and needed something to do while they were at work. I found the distillery on TripAdvisor. I learned the difference between moonshine, bourbon, and whiskey. I also got to see the different stages of fermenting of the drinks. But best was trying the different flavors that they make. I left with salted caramel and peach moonshine. A fun hour.

Learned a lot about the making of moonshine and corn whiskey and their soon to be finished, bourbon! Had fun with the taste testing too!

Staff was friendly, the tour was great & the tasting was even better. If you live in town or just visiting this is the place to go. The moon shine taste amazing.

This is a really neat tour, a lot of information that was very interesting. Person giving the tour and presentation knew the information well. Probably wouldn’t be interesting for young children but our teenager though got it was cool.

This first generation distillery, does a free tour right. You feel more like a friend getting a private look into the distilling process. The helpful and friendly staff are eager to answer any questions about the trade, as your walked through process step by step. Followed by a tasting of their family recipe moonshine. Even if your not into 100 proof moonshine, the more accessible flavored moonshine will draw you in. Featuring flavors like peach, apple pie, and salted caramel.

James did a great job of explaining the process and some history behind the company. Fun way to spend the afternoon. Tasting was yummy. The peach and pina colada flavors were outstanding!

There were two favorite parts of the visit, First was the tour of the distillery and all the information about how the brews are distilled and the history of the family. The second was the tasting part which was really made fun by our hostess.

It was a great little day trip for my wife and myself. We took a tour of the distillery and learned about its family history and the process of how they create their whiskey, Bourbon, and shine. We enjoyed the sampling, and the cool little gift shop . Of course, we came away with our own cache of their delightful products.

Stopped by because we saw it as one of the top things to do in Jacksonville. The staff was incredibly friendly and informative. The whiskey and bourbon were amazing! Not usually my drink of choice but now I definitely will add them as a staple to my drink cabinet!

Awesome tour + tasting. Intimate, informative, and no fake setup demonstration. Tasted 8 products free of charge. Knowledgeable staff and even managed to snag a bottle of barrel #8, which they were in the process of bottling and labeling.

Traveled from good Ole Mississippi to try some North Carolina Moonshine. I must say that Walton's Distillery did not disappoint. EXCELLENT moonshine and whiskey!
If you are ever in North Carolina I recommend that you make a stop by the distillery.

The guide was great and really interesting. The moonshine is tasty. This is well worth the time. Great souvenirs in the gift shop.

Me, my husband, and my sister went to Walton's Distillery today and had a great time. Our tour and tasting was hosted by James. He did such a good job explaining the process. We also enjoyed the tasting. I loves the peach moonshine. If you are ever in the area it's a must do.

Just visited Walton’s and very nice group of people. Went with my wife and we both loved the flavors that they have on hand to taste and also to buy!! The Pine Shine Colada is Awesome, now the rest are just as good!! We purchased are limit but I do have in-laws to buy more!! Keep up the great work guy!!!😎 if you can’t make it for a visit you can pick it up in the local ABC store!! I would say it’s a must try!

This was a fun place to visit with the family. The owner gave us a tour of the distillery and talked us through the process. He was very passionate and well informed of his craft. There was a tasting of all of the flavors and types of drinks they make so you can try before you buy! The gift shop had a good amount of fun thigs and gifts to share with friends and family. One of only two moonshine distilleries in North Carolina, this is a well run professional operation thats worth a visit!

The tour was great, he answered all our questions. My dad likes whiskey so he had a lot of questions. The tastings were wonderful. They were all really nice.

My Cousin and I went to Walton's on a whim July 7, 2018 and totally enjoyed the tour. The owner and employee's were absolutely wonderful to speak with. I would recommend visiting and the Moonshine, yummo. Just loved it.

Great tour guide, very informative!
Great sampling...unique site to visit!
Interesting history on moon shine.

While visiting our son in Jacksonville North Carolina we went to Waltons Distillery. What a surprise. James was our tour guide and he was fantastic. I was not expecting their products to taste as good as they did, or to be as smooth as they were. If you have an extra 15 or 20 minutes while in Jacksonville I would highly suggest stopping at Waltons Distillery. We look forward to going back to enjoy their open house events.

Definitely worth a visit. My wife and I took our Marine here and all of us enjoyed it a lot. Tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I showed up at 4pm to get a tour, my in laws found the distillery on line. The main entrance was locked, there was a sign on the door saying go around back. When we went around back Ethan met us at the door and gave us a great tour answering all our questions. We all liked the tour and the shine was good as well. I will go back and visit the bluegrass open house once a month.

I go for my Christmas and birthday presents when they have the open houses. Get too sample what I'm buying plus free decent food and music is quite a bonus. It seems as though every time I go they've added more items to their excellent spirits offerings and they all are just as good as the originals.

My Culinary Arts class had a field trip here today! We had a great time! Didn't even know we had a distillery here! You and the hubby or wife looking to do something or have a friends day event, this is where to go!

Walton's is great! The tour was very informative and they show you everything. Tasting is free and the moonshine tastes awesome. Nice shop with gift items and of course moonshine.

Having been seeing this distillery advertisements on Facebook, I decided to check it out. Walking in, I was met Kristen and she asked if she could help me? I informed her, I'd like a tour and then do some shopping. She called for a tour guide. Sadly, I forgot his name, but he gave me a wonderful tour and explained the process of making their products. He took his time and answered all of my questions.
He was very friendly & knowledgeable.
After the tour, I toured the awesome gift shop, then tasted the various kinds of moonshine products.
Kristen explained each drink in detail and was extremely courteous and professional. It was hard to decide which ones to get.
The entire staff was awesome.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Note: They will be having an Open House on Dec 11.
I plan to return and enjoy the band, food and drinks.

Staff very friendly and informative. Enjoyed visit thouroughly! Will recommend all friends to visit soon.

Grey was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and a terrific story teller. Thank you for a wonderful time. Worth the trip!

this place should be seen by all, upon entering we were greeted by James who was very knowledgeable of the whole process of producing moonshine he explained each step from start to finish.James treated us like family he explained to us how the walton family made moonshine back then and it"s still the same recipe.he took us to the tasting room and had samples of each item they produce tasted a pina colada that has not come out yet but we can"t wait for it to come out check your abc liquor stores they carry them. anyone traveling thru jacksonville n.c. should stop here it was a great experience. thank you James for the the great tour and great expertise.....

Very interesting and fun, very happy with the friendly atmosphere. Gift shop is amazing! I recommend to stop and do the tour.

Fun informative tour with Zach.
Great product tasting experience and lots of souvenirs to choose from.
Would definitely recommend visiting here if you're near Jacksonville NC.

Thank you Walton's distillery for the opportunity We had to spend a very quiet night in your RV parking. We are sorry for not arriving early enough for the tour
Your truly canadian folks,
Rod and Vayna

Stopped in with friends. Very informative about state laws and the processes of making their product.

I have lived 5 minutes away from this place for about 7 months and never knew about it. Which is a shame because I am moving now. My neighbor highly reccomended their whiskey. I'm not too big on moonshine typically, but after the tasting here, I have become a fan. Everything they make is delicious, everything from straight shine to the girly drinks was smooth and easy to drink. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I even ended up buying some of their shine, amd look forward to buying some of their premium select shine when it comes out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The short tour was entertaining and informative, and we couldn't resist buying some moonshine to take home. Don't miss it if you are visiting the Jacksonville area.

My husband myself and our 7 year old daughter went to go on a tour. Our guide was absolutely amazing explained everything and also made it very interesting. After the tour we were able to go enter are very neatly decorated gift shop where they had plenty of moonshine memorabilia that you could purchase as well as they had moonshine tasting samples. It was a wonderful tour and we definitely enjoyed it. We highly recommend it

We went to the distillery as part of the Newcomers Club of New Bern. It was our first time at the distillery, nice informative tour and a great tasting.

My wife, two sons (17 and 20), and I visited the Walton’s distillery and were given a fantastic tour by James. During the walking tour between the buildings, James explained the process of making corn whiskey, bourbon, and moonshine. We saw the stills producing and the mash “working” in preparation for later. We also saw the bourbon, whiskey, and moonshine barrels aging in the barn. It was quite interesting to hear the future plans for rum and the upcoming first bottling of the bourbon. After seeing the bottling and labeling process we headed to the tasting room/gift store where James provided my wife and I samples of the products. The corn whiskey and peach moonshine were a personal favorite (we left with a bottle of each as well as some shot glasses for my collection.) Great people, great tour, and a place to return. Stop in and see them! I am looking forward to our next visit to see their growth with the bottling of the bourbon. This is a great opportunity to see the operation and ask questions of a veteran whiskey distiller!

Very welcoming stop with free tasting! We learned a lot about "Distilling" ad left with some Moonshine! (That takes me back to my roots.) Will definitely stop in again.

10/10 recommend a tasting session with Kristen! Very knowledgeable on how the alcohol is made, stored, and describes the flavoring to a T before you taste it. Also, her down to earth personality was a plus because nobody likes a boring host. ;)

We found this place a few years ago via a Groupon deal and can't pass it up while vacationing in Topsail. Their tours are great and the Moonshine is fantastic. Also the staff is super friendly and the gift shop is adorable! Love this place! Will be bringing the family next year!

I'd highly recommend the Walton's Distillery tour and tasting. James and Zachary were very welcoming and their passion and knowledge of the traditions (and chemistry) of the distilling process is immediately engaging. They're doing great work here and it shows in their pride for their work and the quality of the products they're making. Take the tour, do the tasting and enjoy your time here. We left with quite a bundle of purchases to enjoy at home. Grateful to Walton's for a memorable time!

This local distillery is the kind of thing Trip Advisor is all about. We were warmly greeted by the owner when we walked in. Took a tour of the facility and learned how the process works. Dont know the difference between whiskey, bourbon, scotch and moonshine? You will when your done. Product sampaling was next, my first time trying moonshine and not at all what you'd expect. Several different flavor and each delecious! Fun gift shop at the end with several unique finds. Highly reccomend!!!!

My wife and I went here just to see what it was all about. We ended up getting a free tour and a tasting at the end of their various whiskeys and moonshines. I ended up buying some salted caramel moonshine. The salted caramel moonshine is my favorite from Walton's.

My husband and I were out on a date day without kids in tow and came upon this place. We were greeted with a warm welcome and received an awesome tour where even my alcohol smart hubs even learned some stuff! Would absolutely recommend to everyone!!!

We really enjoyed the tasting session and decided on the Pina Colada flavored moonshine. The store is full of interesting things to look at and buy

My friends invited me to the distillery tour and I wasn't expecting too much. I was alot more interested in the tour then I thought I would be. The history, the facts, it was all so cool. After the tour, we got to sample quite a few products, all pretty good! I was shocked that I liked them because I am not an alcohol drinker usually. Left with 2 bottles. What I liked most was how the repurpose most of their items and buy from US companies. I'm completely satisfied and can't wait to bring family back to visit!

This place is a must! Zack gave the tour which was more than educational. Sydney and Danielle were so welcoming and made you feel at home. Their gift shop and taste testing was amazing. We will definitely come back every year.

We were looking for something to do in Jacksonville and found Walton's. We took our family 12,14 and 17 year kids. James was a great tour guide and full of information. Kristen was great with the taste testing. No charge for the tour or the taste testing. Quick 15-20 min tour

Great place to visit! Our guide, James, was very informative. We were the only ones on the tour that day so he took some extra time explaining the process. Really enjoyed the time we spent there, especially the tasting part. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Jacksonville. Nice place out in the country. Will definitely visit again.

This is definitely worth the trip. Staff was very friendly and enjoyed sharing the history and process. The tasting tour exceeded expectations. A great place to find Christmas gifts for enthusiasts! Look forward to going back.

Went for a free tasting at the distillery - and got there right at the last minute for a tour of the facility - we were offered one - but declined and just had a tasting. Tried 4 different products - whiskey, moonshine and vodka - all were good and reasonably priced. Smallish store/tasting area. The distillery manager gave us the tasting and she was knowledgeable and engaging. Nice visit and travel buddy purchase a bottle of salted caramel whiskey.

My wife and our best friends visited Walton’s Distillery last week and had a great time. Our guide, James, was most knowledgeable about the entire distilling process and answered all of our questions. At the end of the tour was a great tasting with everything from straight moonshine through all of their tremendous flavors (peach, kiwi, salted caramel, pina colada, etc.). We met the owner and learned even more about how he got started and plans for the future.
I recommend this visit if you want to find out more about distilling. Note, you must be 21 or older with ID to sample.

This is a must stop and visit for anyone coming to this area. Especially when they have an open house event. Great music and food. A family event. They also have a great store with some unique gifts.

If you're in the area, and you've ever wondered how spirits are made, you really owe it to yourself to make a visit to Walton's Distillery. James was an excellent guide to the distillery's operations, taking us through the process and answering questions all along the way. Kristin was equally adept at taking us through the Walton's products, with suggestions for how to serve and mix the different flavored moonshines. It was well worth the trip, and we'll be back next time we're in town.

What a great little distillery. One of only two in the state that make legal moonshine. Friendly staff, Zach gave us a great tour and explained the distillery process that goes into making moonshine, corn whiskey and straight whiskey. The tasting was a lot of fun. The owner was there and we enjoyed talking with him about how he got started.
Nice little gift shop with lots of interesting stuff. They sell their products there and it's also available at the ABC stores.
Great place for adult fun

James was a great tour guide. Learned a lot about moonshine, bourbon and whiskey. A hidden gem for sure! The Salted Caramel was my favorite....yummy!

They're so friendly and inviting. I enjoyed the tour very much, andthey answered all of my questions.

We were looking for a place to go and explore and stumbled onto this place. I have always been a fan of smaller distilleries and this one does not disappoint.
Jamie greeted our group and provided us a tour of distillery. He was about to educate our group on the differences between the production of bourbon, whiskey, and moonshine. He was also about to inform us on the product distribution with the state.
If you get a chance definitely check it out. We are hoping to get back to visit during one of their open houses.

Heard the ads on the radio about Walton’s and found out they have tours and tastings. John, our tour guide was fantastic. He was knowledgeable and personable, answering all of our questions with ease. We ended the tour with tastings and the Priem Select Moonshine, along with Apple Pie and Salted Caramel moonshine were not going to be left behind. A small distillery with what appears to have a big heart. Don’t miss this place!

As a local I have visited the distillery many times since its opening. The employees always hVe a smile on thier faces and treat everyone like family. Can't wait to head out to visit them again to check out thier new additions and sample dome of the new products since my last visit.

Come check it out, great people, great tour, great experience! Will definitely come back again and buy more!!!!

Visit here to taste their moonshine and tour the distillery. Love the small place. Love their moonshine and whiskey

We had an awesome time visiting this growing distillery! The Peach Moonshine is EVERYTHING! I had to purchase some to take home. Also, the tour guide Zachary was so informative! He kept us engaged the entire time!

I went here to visit exellent tour, and samples. they answer all of your questions friendly staff take you on a tour of the facility. They have a store on premises, nice selection of products

I took three friends on a backroad's visit to Walton's Distillery just before Christmas. Even though they were setting up a Holiday celebration, we had a great time with knowledgeable staff. I found great Christmas presents which are still being enjoyed by family who want to go visit next time they come this way. There is still some Carolina moonshine being enjoyed - alas the bourbon needs to be resupplied. Wonderful visit with nice staff, great gift shop and - oh, yes - the tasting. By all means, stop by if you come this way. The Walton family ancestors surely must be proud of this generation. Bring your friends, take your family or go alone. Really good times to be found for a quick visit or take your time.

Very nice place to go. Learned a lot about moonshine. There are several different flavors to sample. The owner is very nice and informative. They have open houses several times a year with live entertainment and food. Great time!

The title of this review tells it all. We were antique shopping and came across a bulletin board notice of an event that was scheduled for the distillery. We decided to go take a look. It's a small distillery and one of only two that makes legal moonshine. We were greeted by a friendly employee who gave us a tour and explained the distillery process for moonshine, corn whiskey and straight whiskey. We were then give a tasting of their products. The owner was there and we got to talk to him about how he got started. Great friendly people and a great time. They have a cute gift shop area and sell their whiskies as well. Everything reasonably priced.
This is a great place to visit and I highly recommend it.

Enjoyed tour given by the owner and the tasting. Very friendly atmosphere! I would recommend if you are in the Jacksonville area to check it out.

The tour was very informative, the staff is welcoming and friendly. We got to watch them running shine through the still and see the different processes for Moonshine vs. Whiskey and Bourbon. The tour ends in the gift shop with a free tasting of all their offerings. We bought just about one of everything and a couple jars for family and friends.

Our tour guide Zachary was fantastic! Explained everything about making moonshine as well as explaining the history of the process and about the family involved. The tasting & store was wonderful.

A trip to Walton's Distillery was truly an enjoyable and enriching diversion and experience. Upon our arrival James immediately invited us into the distillery. He gave us a superb tour that not only touched upon the present day process procedures for distilling, but also included a description and historical appreciation of the process from the rugged past. The capstone to the end of our tour was the enjoyable time we spent in the tasting room. Exceeded Expectations!

Had relative visiting from California. Took him for a tour of the distillery. It was very informative and the guide answered all of our questions. Would recommend this activity to all.
