Relaxing Sunday afternoon

By Edward S |

We live on Long Island with many wineries on the north fork. We decided to visit Warwick Valley winery from a friend who suggested it. Lovely place, outside seating, food available (none allowed in) and for the non-wine drinker, local beer on tap. They had a band on Sunday afternoon to add to your enjoyment. And the best part the prices were so much better that Long Island wineries. This place is a winner in my books.

Great weekend Fun

By Melissa B |

Winery is great. Get there early for a table with an umbrella if you're planning to go when its hot out. Black Dirt wine was my fav. Wine tasting was 6$ and they give you a souvenir cup which was nice. Take the distillery tour! its only 15$ and very informative. Craig the guide is great!

A Gem in the Valley

By Jeush J |

Far be it from me to say that the WV Winery was cute, but it definitely does fit the bill as cute. I visited with my SO in early October 2014 on a Friday. We were looking for a day trip and so we chose this place.

We came primarily for the wine tasting, which was $5 per person. It was slightly busy that day, so the folks manning the bar where the tasting was held seemed harried, but with a little patience they eventually got to us and presented us with their flight of their wines, ciders, and cordials. My SO and I instantly fell in love with their cordials and ciders, and picked up quite a few bottles of it. There was apple picking, as well, but we didn't go for that sine we had gone apple picking recently somewhere else.

The cafe, open Fridays and the weekend, served an awesome complement to the drinks they had on sale. Don't expect anything in the way of burgers and fries; their food selection ran the gamut of cheese and meat appetizer plates, to pizza and sandwiches. We ate a meat and cheese appetizer plate and split a pizza, and we found both to be superb.

We didn't get to see much else, sine the winery apparently holds events during the weekend, but it was still fairly crowded, though not to a point where we held up for a significant amount of time to buy food and drinks.

WV winery was a worthwhile trip and everything from the drinks to the food was top notch. I may visit again during the weekend to get the full experience, but as far as I can see, the winery was a great destination.

Might be better during the week.... weekends in the fall are CRAZY Crowded.

By TheSkell |

Probably a very nice country orchard. It was hard to tell being that every inch of the property had people on it (exaggerating - but only a little :-) ). I love Doc's Hard cider and by the overwhelming amount of people there - I am not the only one.

A waste of time

By Renee M |

I just wanted a relaxing afternoon to enjoy tasting wine, and some of their spirits that hey offer. WRONG!!!! This place gets ridiculously crowded.

The tasting "area" was unorganized, no customer service and unnecessarily overcrowded. The lines for the cafe went out the door and The product purchase line appeared to be a 90 minute wait. I paid $5 to park, and $20 to try to "attempt" their trio sampling of Wine, Cider and Spirits. I say "attempt" because I had to wait 10mins to even try to get to a table, just to see what was going on, not even to ask for my first sample.

Needless to say I asked for my money back (for the sample and at the exit for parking) no one gave me a fuss about it. I spent a total of 25 mins there and got my $25 I spent back, and took my money elsewhere. It's a shame because it looks nice on the website but the overcrowding and families ruin the experience. The music was ok, but better organization would be wiser for this establishment. Like maybe they should charge for flights and not individual pouring tastings.

Oh, and they don't allow dogs, but children can run all over the place without any supervision.
I doubt I'll return, but if I do, I'll have to see it not during the weekend.

No need to return here

By ChantillyLace28 |

It's really sad, but this winery has become so greedy! My goodness, you have such a large crowd on wkends, locals and visitors weekday and yet you have the nerve to continue to charge $5 for parking!
I have always enjoyed in the past bringing guests and family here, but now, no. I gave it another shot.
Your staff is only accommodating when it's quiet and the crowds are gone. I will give credit to you for your hard cider, that can be bought at the local supermarket. To my understanding your Black Dirt wine your known for is not even from your vineyard.?? Its the fun of taking friends & family to the wineries. You certainly cannot control the crowds and as a business you certainly want that. So that's a choice the customers make to deal with that. So, along with a staff seeming overwhelmed, unpleasant, packing people in seems all about the $$. Unfortunately, the whole experience of a good time here has been taken away.

Nice venue

By Aashna25 |

The venue is nice. Food was good (lobster roll). The tastings were not great, but at least you get a glass with each tasting.

Live music and good food

By Jlundg5413 |

The Warwick valley winery is the place to be in Warwick county. The winery offers many delicious wines both red and white and their own bourbon which can be sampled as a cordial. The food was good for wine pairing (the truffle fries are a must). Live music on the weekends makes this place busy so get a table early.

Always a nice day

By Lisa S |

We enjoy getting a bottle or two of wine to share with friends and family while we enjoyed the music. Over the past couple of years it's been so nice to see the winery add more food items to their menu, both hot and cold.We bring our own chairs in case it's really crowded on the grounds. There are two bocce courts so we sometimes bring our bocce balls and play bocce while listening to the music and enjoying the outdoors.
Last season we attended one of their big concerts. I have to admit that we were nervous that the place to be so crowded that it would be unpleasant. However the winery was very organized from parking to selling wine to selling food and we had a really enjoyable afternoon.

Lunch with family

By Nclaravega |

Great wines and ciders, even if you only do the tasting it is a great experience and you will know which wine and cider to buy. The food @ the Pane cafe/Black dirt grill is wonderful buy a bottle of wine and enjoy the food and live music. This place is very crowded but worth the visit

Lovely spot, but too crowded

By stressfreegolfer |

A recent Sunday drive to the Warwick Valley Winery for a tasting and lunch, proved to be too crowded. The line for food was out the door in the cafe and equally as long at the outdoor grill. The tastings were being held at an outdoor tented area, and I'm glad we waited since it was worth the wait. Very reasonably priced at $5.00, you get six tastings and a souvenir glass. Parking was $5.00 as well.

Not bad

By fancylisa |

We went on a weekday shortly before closing, so we bypassed the $5 parking fee and went straight inside to do wine tasting. It was pretty reasonable 5-6 wines for $12 and they were all delicious, especially the pear and raspberry. Unfortunately apple cider donuts are unavailable during the week :(We did fork over $28 for a bag to go apple picking, but it was worth it choosing exactly what type of apples we wanted to pick.

They make a great Pear Cider....

By Wil S |

This winery makes great ciders and their cafe is pretty good and affordable. The location makes for a nice, lazy day where you can kick back in your lounge chair and take in the music and scenery.

BEWARE !

By Stephen V |

They do not even make their own wines ! They charge $10 to park !!! Super noisy with oud music. Not a good place whatsoever,

Fun!

By Lou Ann C |

Well worth the visit - we had a fabulous Riesling from this winery the evening before and went up to the winery to purchase it. While there, we did a wine tasting. Our bartender, Barb, was so knowledgeable about the offerings of the winery as well as the lovely town of Warwick. We left with more than the Riesling!

You Have To Be Kidding Me

By hard2please0619 |

If this is New Jersey's idea of a family-friendly winery and distillery for a Sunday afternoon, then they are just perpetuating the stereotype. After waiting on a single-lane road for 20 minutes to park the car (for $5) up a dusty parking lot adjacent to the apple orchard and dodging the poor excuse for a hay-ride that circles a lifeless portion of the property, we made our way to the wine tasting tent only to find an outrageously long line and people so sauced that my wife had to stay with our child in an overcrowded grass field with spill-over lines for ice cream and beer.

If you insist on visiting, do so at your own peril and be prepared to bring your own seating (blankets or folding chairs) and use unkept outhouses for bathrooms.

We skipped the $28-per-bag apple picking, accepted that we would never get those 40 minutes of our lives back, got in the car and went on our way.

Splendid Afternoon

By Scott G |

Easy Sunday afternoon. Great entertainment with great artisan pizza...oh yeah...the wine. Best in the area. Great selection and very enjoyable. Looking for a treat, check this place out. It won't disappoint.

A beautiful spot to kill a lazy afternoon with great food, ok wine and lots of room.

By Mogulz |

The five stars is not for the wine. The wine is fair. The whites are better, particularly the riesling, but it is bottled in Watkins Glen, not Warwick. My family loves Warwick Winery for other reasons. The grounds are pretty with ample room for little ones to run around as moms and dads imbibe. The food is quite good. Salads and pizzas are very good. There were several varieties of hard cider that we enjoyed the last time we were there. On summer weekends it can be pretty crowded with the live music on the patio. Once the patio tables are full, there's plenty of room out on the grass and people will spread a blankets. A few times a summer they book concerts which require tickets purchases to attend. In the fall there is apple picking. All good activities in a beautiful place that feels much further removed from the NYC area than it really is.

Nice place to visit with friends. Easy to get to and had a wonderful time with friends. would invite all to visit this very nice place.

What a Surprise!

By wher2next |

Having been to many wineries in our home state and other countries, this place was a great combination of high quality wine and spirits, a beautiful setting and and unpretentious staff. I especially appreciated a straight forward explanation from one of the ladies when I told her (feeling embarrassed)I had no clue how one of the spirits was made. The walk among the many different trees and just sitting under one of them for a time was very enjoyable. I highly recommend making this a stop on your 'day in the country'!

Great Atmosphere!

By Brett C |

The atmosphere and the people are great. A long wait on the weekends for food leaves you a bit frustrated with the size of the portions. The pizza and truffle fries are a sure thing every time. I look forward to returning in the fall.

Great winery

By Glory L |

My boyfriend and I went here for a weeding during the month of October it was so beautiful and intimate. The food was also very good. We liked it so much we went back the next day to purchase some wine and to hang out. On the weekends they have live bands playing. Its a great place to come for some great wine, food and live music.

Fun Saturday

By Traveler P |

Stopped in for wine tasting. $6 for wine. $5 for cider. Live music 2-5 today on patio. Wine tasting under tent near patio. We enjoyed the tasting and purchased several bottles from the attached store. Enjoyed wine and sangria along with some frozen drinks while listening to the band. We brought chairs to sit in the shade of several trees. Also had several pizza pies from the oven. $15 each I believe. Big crowd. An enjoyable day.

Go to the Warwick Winery, a MUST, ppl.

By BOTANICAL22 |

Absolutely a gem in our area and we are from West Milford , Hewitt area. We have been enjoying this for years, for the exquisite food and wines. Our family enjoys the whites and red blends, especially the Bkack Dirt and White Table wines and the live music is the bomb. Alyssa Jones is one of our favorite shows at the winery.

Nice way to spend a warm summer afternoon.

By 755JLG |

I haven’t been to the winery in years but we had a free Sunday afternoon and we decided to go. It has changed quite a bit since I was there last. There are nice patios, lots of food options, good music and drinkable wine. We got the cheese plate and each got a glass of wine, found a vacant table under an umbrella and settled in. The cheese plate was really good, the wine, though not the best I have ever had, was drinkable and the music was great. There were a lot of people there but still plenty of room for more. A really nice place to spend a summer afternoon. I look forward to returning.

Poor Experience

By DJF |

Visited with my daughter and two of her friends. Two were 21 and 1 was not. Three ciders were purchased. My daughter and the two girls were approached by the manager accusing the under aged girl of drinking. The manager was rude, raising her voice threatening to call the police. Little did she know the girl she questioned what in the police academy and allergic to alcohol. I appreciate governing to the law, but harassment and accusations will cause you to lose customers. As for the restaurant, it was closed after calling before the ride up. Management should consider hiring a new manager to run the facility. Treat all your customer with respect and dignity. As a food and wine critic, I will be sure to extend Warwick Winery the same courtesy they bestowed on my family and I.

Great hang out spot

By Teresa S |

Oh my gosh is what I thought when my friend and i arrived on a Saturday afternoon. This place was jam packed with people. I couldn't believe this was a winery; it reminded me of a music festival or holiday picnic. There was ample parking for $5 but you had to walk a long way to get to and from your car. Thankfully they have sufficient staff to assist with the high car traffic.

My friend and i participated in the wine sampling fir $5 which was a great deal to sample 6 different wines, plus take home a souvenir wine glass. Unfortunately, I wasn't a great fan of any of them and didn't purchase any wine. The staff that assisted with the tasting was cool and down to earth. She didn't rush our experience despite the crowd waiting to go next. My friend liked one of the wines we tasted and attempted to purchase a bottle but the lines for the cashier wrapped around the small store, it was crazy!

If I lived in the area this would be a spot I would come and hang out for the day with friends or family. People at the winery looked like they were enjoying a beautiful fall day, with their food, snacks and wine. We did see a restaurant at the winery and luckily we had already eaten because the line was out the door as well, lol. There were some activities for the children and thank goodness because there were a lot of kiddies running around.

When you check this popular winery out, come prepared with a lot of patience to wait.

Worst winery service experience ever

By Diana M |

While Warwick Valley Winery came with glowing reviews and great expectations, it failed to meet the minimum standards of good service. The tasting room was a mess and the servers were too busy counting tips, answering the phone or leaving for the day to acknowledge customers and pay attention to what wine they were serving. Only one server was actually providing adequate service but was unable to accommodate the 12-15 people at the tasting bar while her fellow servers paid little to no attention to customers. We actually stood at the tasting bar for almost ten minutes before we were even acknowledged. We ended up leaving before the last two wines were served as the server stood directly in front of us chatting on the phone rather than pouring or paying attention to her customers. Perhaps they were too "pooped" after a busy tourist weekend to serve locals who may have brought future business. The wine was nothing to write home about either. No need to return.

Perfect for a Lazy Afternoon

By Kelly L |

I've been here in the past for wine tastings and their annual hard cider run. This time, we brought my dad in for father's day. We got glasses of wine or cider and got a table outside under an umbrella to listen to some music. It was great. They have an indoor and outdoor bar for drinks and food service. The outside area only offers pizzas and the full menu is inside.

Make sure to try their doc's draft hard ciders with ice!

Sunday fun

By LuAnn B |

Great winery in a beautiful setting. Good wines and ciders. They also have quite a few food choices but make sure you have cash because food items are all paid with cash only. The wine and cider can be bought with credit cards. We had the pizza and four different ciders and the were all good. The grounds are wonderful with beautiful roses and places to put down a blanket and enjoy the weather. Very busy place so come early if you want to sit at a table outside.

Great wine spot, but a bit crowded in the fall

By NMG334 |

Great wine spot, but a bit crowded in the fall...tastings were very good - $5 for 6 tastings and a nice variety and includes a glass to take home. There were crowds of people which I had never seen before at a winery though, so we did have to wait on line both for the tasting outdoors under a tent (which was a good idea and seemed to move relatively quickly). They also had a shop with chilled bottles of wine and ciders for on the spot picnicking, they will open for you if you like, and offer a variety of cheeses, crackers and chips to pair it with - plastic cups are also available. There was food available but the lines were so long we would have spent half of our time there waiting so we passed on that - opportunity lost for them not expanding that (could turn some people off entirely if they counted on eating there).Once we got our wine and did a tasting we set up chairs on the lawn there and enjoyed the beautiful day. Lots of 20 somethings there, but really people of all ages just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful day. Music was playing down by the food/shop so we could hear it where we were sitting. For us, after a quick tasting basically it was a buy some wine and hang out with friends, listen to music in the background kind of day so it was a great day! You did have to pay $5 for parking per car which I think is ridiculous as you come there intending to spend money on their products. BTW - tons of porto-pottys were plentiful for your potty comfort, not the best but on day outdoors rather have that than nothing or a long line for one restroom.

Great cafe

By AmyBeth464 |

My husband and I had a day without the kids so we decided to go. We arrived around noon on a Sunday. We did the wine tasting which was $5 each. We tried 6 wines...some were better than others. We ultimately ended up buying a bottle of the Harvest white and a bottle of the Black Dirt red. Both were good and inexpensive. We ordered lunch from the cafe which was really delicious. I think I'd go back just for the cafe!

Unsafe covid violations

By Dana P |

I just left the winery and I’m so disappointed. My husband and I and my parents and siblings all drove from an hour away after reading about all of the social distancing protocol on the website. When we got to the winery, we have never seen so many people. It was so packed and blankets were not 6 feet apart. We ended up setting up by the orchard. We waited on line for 45 minutes to get food at the “Always Fresh Food Truck” and when we got up there, the girl taking money was wearing a mask bjt the two cooks were not wearing masks at all. Not even pulled down, no masks in site for either guy. One was wearing gloves and rubbing his nose with the gloved hand and then touching food. When we said something, the girl in front said they’re taking a mask break which was clearly untrue and if you are taking a mask break, you don’t touch or breath on the food. We ended up having to leave and make the hour trip home. This should be a safe activity for people to do during these times.

No longer a fan since they've banned dogs

By doxi-mom |

For many years I've enjoyed visiting this winery as a "destination".
The whole family would enjoy an afternoon's visit. Now that they have banned dogs- I will find another venue for fun on my day''s off.

Since they've changed their policy about dogs- our family has changed our policy about spending time and money with them.

There are many other places our whole family is welcome. Bye Bye WVW

Wine is great. Service, not so much.

By Jason P |

This is a nice plac to check out. Their wines and ciders are top notch. Especially the red wine and the pear cider. The tastings and bottles are reasonably priced. Now - the bad. My wife and I stood at the bar for 10 minutes. There were 2 bartenders who wouldn’t acknowledge us. One was “busy” at the register and the other was ONLY speaking to a party of 4 who were tasting right next to us. We were literally 30 seconds out the door and finally, a different bartender came out and helped us.

We were not going to find a better place than here on a Sunday!

By S F |

What a fun, cool place to be. We had a cider tasting with some good advice, fresh hot artisan pizza, live music, great atmosphere. Kids rolling down the grassy hill, full picnic tables, folks enjoying the sun and music, strolls through blooming apple trees. Just a good place to be on a sunny spring day. Not all wines and ciders tho, had Grounded Roots from Sloop brewing also.

Crowded & Loud; Great Wine Tasting

By BeachSunSand |

We had friends bring us here for the wine tasting and unfortunately, it was extremely crowded. It isn't necessarily their fault since it is the weekend and that is when families and couples have the time, but it was difficult to get around. We wanted to get some food before the wine tasting, however, the line for the Cafe was immensely long. Most of the snacks to purchase were also gone since everyone must have had the same idea as us. As for the wine tasting itself, it was great!! We tried some really tasty wine and we had a great time with our friends. This would be a great activity to do during the week when it is less crowded.

Great Pizza, friendly and knowledgable staff

By David H |

I visited with my Daughter and Grandbaby on January 18, 2019 while visiting my Daughter, Son-in-law, and new Grandbabby. This was the Grandbaby's first Winery visit and since 5 week olds are not allowed to drink, she just observed. I will break down the experience by category.

The Staff: Extremely friendly and knowledgable about the Wines, Ciders, and whiskey. Maura (pictured behind the bar) was our Hostess for our tastings and I was impressed by her. I didn't get names of anyone else but we were greated by everyone and it was a very pleasant experience.

The Cider: Wasn't planning on buying any Cider but had to have some more of the Cranberry Cider. Christmas in a bottle. I wont' do into detail on each Cider, Wine, or Whiskey because taste vary by person but I did have a tasing of each and left purchasing one of each category. I was only planning on purchasing a bottle of wine so I think that speaks volumes about their other offerings.

Food: I must say that I have never had a Butter Nut Squash Pizza and I'm glad we decided to give it a try. It was delicious!! It was just enough for two people. We did take two pieces home for the Son-in-Law to try but it was tough making that sacrifice. The crust was perfect and had a great flavor. The squash was added an amazing flavor. I don't know if they change their offerings but I've included a picture of the menu as well as picture of the oven. Pizza only took about 10 minutes form order to eating.

Atmosphere: It was'nt crowded while we were there but even if it was, I still think I would have enjoyed it. The inside dining area is nice. They do have enclosed "outside" seating that is heated. The outside temp when we where there was in the mid to upper 30's and the outside dining area when we passed through, was comfortable.

Overall: I will definitely want to go back when I visit again. I would like to go back in the summer and see what else they have to offer.

I’m not sure it is worth driving too far for, but if you aren’t too far it is worth checking out.

By Mel10901 |

We went during the week. There is live music on the weekend but I hear it is very crowded then. We easily got a table with an umbrella after ordering our food. My vegan husband was able to get a beyond burger so he was very happy. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad. There was a lot of chicken and it was good but the salad was limp from too much dressing. I forgot to order the dressing on the side. We shared a large bottle of raspberry hard cider which was very pleasant even though the raspberry taste wasn’t as strong as I would have liked. People seemed to be enjoying their food and beverages. I’m not sure I would drive too far out of my way to get there, but if you aren’t too far away, it is worth checking out.

$5 to park!!!!

By NewJoisey |

Decided to take a trip to Warwick to check out wineries. Only hit two out of four. Could not believe we were charged $5 to park at Warwick Winery and the tasting tent was packed. Took our six sips and left.

The best thing to do on a sunny afternoon (in these parts)!

By HappyGoLuckyNJ |

What I love about this venue is that it's perfect for all ages. Have a dog? Bring him/her (so long as they stay on a leash). Have kids? Bring 'em! If they throw a tantrum, you're outdoors so it'll drown out the sound. There's such a wide variety of people that come because this winery caters to everyone. Unfortunately, it's sooo popular during the summer that it's usually hard to find a table by the early afternoon. If you're arriving past 12pm, better bring lawn chairs and a blanket, because you're sitting on the grass, for sure! But there's tons of space to kick back and relax. The lines inside for food can be easily an hour-long wait (been there, done that) but their food is either grown on the premises or sourced from local vendors, which I love. Ironically, I don't believe their actual vineyard is on site. I think it's further upstate in NY. But there is apple picking and pear picking in the fall, which is lovely. There's always a band playing, which makes the mood even more lively. I highly suggest spending an afternoon here and bring your sunscreen. My son was 4-weeks old when he made his first appearance! In fact, you'll be surprised at how many kids are running around this place.

This used to be a nice relaxing fun day on the weekend, Not Anymore!

By thelangernj |

This used to a be a great place for a fun day on a Saturday or Sunday. Now it is simply a zoo. The cars keep pilling in, and the place simply doesn't have the capacity to handle it. If you want to do the tasting, it's manned by people who have very little idea of what they are serving. Add in the fact that you can't hear a thing since it's so noisy, and it really isn't very enjoyable unless you like to yell over the people next to you as you roast under the tent. The lines for food are long and there is a decent wait. The food options aren't bad, but it simply to crowded, and they have no desire to stop the flow. So if you go, just know, that it is now a large circus atmosphere.
They need to limit the number of people since you have no place to sit and enjoy food, other than on the ground. It's just a tourist trap now.

Winery and Apples Picking

By Ellen S |

Great place for apple picking and weekend fun! live music, tracker rides for the kids, winery and bakery: Excellent place to go with the whole family

Came for the music, but enjoyed everything else

By drtroppo |

My wife and I had heard about the Winery's small music festivals and decided to try their Watkin's Glen Revisited bash. Since one band was going to be playing covers of songs by three different classic bands, we didn't have very high expectations- but the band- which goes by "The Band"- exceeded our expectations. The crowd was fun- a lot of people who appeared to have been hippies back in the day, mixed in with young families, people from NYC on a day trip, dogs playing, and more. And, the wine was decent, with bottles selling for a very reasonable price, and interesting cider on tap.
Highly recommended for a day trip from NYC or an afternoon outing for those in the Warwick area.

Was Holding out hope

By Jennifer LP |

Despite the fact it was a cold November day I was really hopeful this would be a good winery. Where do I start... food was good, seemed fresh and local to the table, Service time was excellent and food delicious.

Hostess- was not friendly at all and did not offer any guidance of their routine.

The wine tastings, server was knowledge. We also ventured into spirits and cider tastings. The wine, in my opinion was barely palatable. I did not enjoy any of it. My husband had the cider tastings and he really enjoyed the pumpkin cider.

A bit of important Information to know ahead of time. There is no cell service here, no Uber service and barely any taxis. Even when we realized we were literally stranded without cellular service the hostess guarded their WiFi password as if it was the Holy Grail. They would not want to give us the WiFi password! After my husband explained our dire situation of having no ride back and needed the WiFi password, she had no choice and asked him to look away as she put it into his phone.

I’m not sure this winery is worth your stop, unless you want some really awesome food and have your own ride home.

Delish Wine, Great Food, Fun Experience!

By Alessandra W |

Warwick is so peaceful! This is a great place to come for an adventurous and romantic date or with a big group of friends. The life music is really nice as it adds to the ambiance of the environment. The food is so so good and very reasonably priced! The truffle fries are an absolute must and the pizza's are really wow!
Try a glass of their sangria! (You can buy it but you have to buy or bring your own jug to fill and to be able to take it home.)
The wine tasting is great and all of the staff is so friendly! This is a wonderful saturday or sunday funday ha ha!

Used to be the best kept secret - still amazing - but no longer a secret

By TravelBug1692 |

I discovered this place a little over 10 years ago with a friend, and since then, have taken some of my closest family and friends with me. The winery is set on a beautiful vineyard in Warwick, and is the perfect place to go any time of year. I love the winter, because of the fireplace on the inside, but with the new patio that they built outside and the expanded picnic area, the summer and fall have become extremely popular as well. The wine tasting itself is $5 a person, and you get to sample all of what Warwick has to offer, in addition to their cordials and ciders. You can then buy your favorites and sit outside (weather permitting) or indoors - and if you are there on the weekend in the summer, there's always a musical guest to listen to. My absolutely favorite part about this winery is the cafe - their food is unbelievable. Some of my favorites include the mussels (which they always run out of!), the truffle fries, and the wood fire pizza. You can also buy cheese platters if you're not in the mood for a big meal to enjoy with your wine. Lately the weekends have become extremely busy, so I recommend that you arrive early enough to get a nice table on the new deck/patio. In the fall, which is the peak season, they have started charging for parking, but don't let that stop you from going - it's well worth it. I am so pleased that we discovered this place and now every time I have visitors from out of state, Warwick Winery is the first place we take them to. This place is pet friends as well! When it gets super busy, people bring picnic blankets and camping chairs and sit on the grass area - great place to bring your kids too! ENJOY! My favorite white wine here is Harvest Moon, and Black Dirt Red for the red.

Meh.

When I think of a winery I think of a calm relaxed place where I can sip wine in tranquility. Sadly, this place is the antithesis of the idyll.
We were brought here by family and were surprised to be charged $5 for parking. We were further surprised by the huge crowds and the loud music.
We had no idea where the wine tasting area was, or even if there was one, as it was so incredibly crowded. I think we spent between 45-60 minutes in line for food, during which time we had the opportunity to have a look at the so-called cider other patrons were consuming. Coming from cider country, we decided to pass on the near colourless liquid.
Food was expensive, we had a 'ploughman's' which was just a chunk of bread ( not bad), a few bits of cheese one could easily buy in a supermarket and nothing to write home about, a bunch of tasteless grapes, a small plastic pot of olive oil ( olive oil and cheese? Really?) and a small plastic pot of slimy baby food passing itself off as apple sauce. Some salad and maybe real apple from their orchards would have been nice.
One of our party said the restrooms were disgusting so we used the porta-potties which are dotted around the place like outdoor art installations.
The live 'music' would not have been out of place on pub karaoke night.
We were happy to leave.

FUN PLACE !!!

By Sprinkles111 |

WE try to make a visit to do some of the vineyards on the wine trail. This one along with Demarest Winery and Applewood Winery are my favorite. This place has beautiful grounds and we were here once when a band was playing outside, kids were playing, we got a bottle and sat and sipped enjoying the band, wine, atmostphere and fall weather.

A “Grateful” Special Event

By Mark G |

I attended a Grateful Dead Tribute Festival, and it was a very good experience! The grounds were very nice, as is the winery itself.

They had ample places for food and drink, both inside and outside, as well as having a great stage and viewing area....

The food was very good, and plenty of drink options...their house bourbon was tasty (had their high end version), and a good IPA was on tap...

All the of it made for a very good experience!

I look forward to future trips...

Great all year round

By Jennifer_Lowes |

My friends and I love going to the winery - nothing is better then going on a sunny weekend day and laying a blanket out and enjoying the sun and music. Even in the winter time it is quite charming, wine tasting is fun and the parmesan fries are amazing! The pizza is a little oily but all the other food is great, try the chicken ceasar salad.

Wine Tasting

By cathybruno1099 |

Lots of space for social distancing. Bring your own blanket or chairs if you’d like to sit under a shady tree. Sample are small but ok for the price.

Great Place on a Fall Afternoon.

By Speedbump555 |

Rustic/casual atmosphere; dining is on paper plates. Food- mainly pizza and salads are high-end gourmet-- Excellent! A bottle of wine and dinner for four was around $50. Live music. Decent picnic area-kids had plenty of room to run/play. Quality bottled wines at fair prices.

Nice little surprise for a fall vacation

By AudDavo |

Our group of 7 visited this winery in mid October and it was just what we were looking for. After visiting several other wineries that had been disappointing Warwick Winery was a much needed nice surprise.
We preferred the Gwertsameiner wine the most and were pleased with several other white wines among the crisp ciders and spirits. My husband and I did tastings of all three! You receive a complimentary glass with each tasting, the perfect souvenir.
Since we live out of town we couldn't buy as many wines, etc as we wanted but we would recommend the before mentioned wine, the raspberry cider, and the 4 year old bourbon.
Also, if you want to eat at the restaurant do not come on a Tuesday! Its the only week day they are NOT open.
We were happy with the efficient and friendly staff that answered our many questions, including other food stops, and were welcoming.
Bathrooms are available on site and inside, they were clean.
The tasting room also has other merchandise and snack food.

All in our group were very happy with this choice and you be will too!

Always a nice trip.

By 609jillm |

We have been visiting this winery for many years now. It is always wonderful. There is a "cafe" and now they have expanded to barbeque in the summer months. Much has changed over the years, but the experience stays the same. A great place for lunch and some wine or cider. It can get very busy on the weekends, though. It is one of the very few wineries that has food facilities as well as tasting opportunities. This is a big plus.

Great place for get together

By Michael B |

Large outdoor, covered and inside winery. Great wine, all kinds of food and drinks available. Pizza and deli in separate room. Great wine prices. Inside srating. Music at certain times. Outdoor area not covered for rain, only shade. Large parking area. Bathrooms.

By hwinsch |

Beautiful grounds and scenery but too crowded. Lines for everything. Just got a bottle of really great chardonnay then got away from the mobs of people.

Fun and Friendly

By Kimberley M |

Had a wonderful time at the Warwick Valley Winery. You could do a tasting, tour go apple picking and listen to music.. The employees were friendly and very helpful. And of course the wine, hard cider and bourbon the produced were very good.

Definitely worth the trip!

By NJ Mom to 3 |

My husband and I visited this winery this last weekend and arrived at the winery shortly after 4 pm on a Saturday. The reviews said the winery gets crowded on a Saturday so we were hoping our late arrival meant that the crowds would be scarce and we were right! We did have a short wait at the bar for the tastings, but zero lines at the register and we were able to grab a table (both inside and outside) no problem. The wines at this winery are wonderful- we had spent some time at Clearview and were slightly disappointed with the tasting so we were expecting a lot from
Warwick Valley Winery and they certainly delivered. Each of the wines we tasted were above average in taste and we especially loved the Black Dirt Red and the Harvest Moon White- both excellent table wines. The atmosphere here was beautiful and a lot of fun and w whole to be back soon to spend more time enjoying the scene and wine!

Fun, festive venue

By Brad W |

First time here. Went on a Sunday and parking was extremely competitive (as was trying to find a table to sit after after purchasing a bottle of wine). Huge crowds within the several enclosed areas. The wine was quite good and all said and done, I'd go back.

Birthday bash bonanza

By Damian A |

We arrived to the scenic grounds and discovered many places to venture. They have wine, spirit and cider samplings and we did them all. My favorites were the sour cherry and berry ciders. Also they have a wide selection of food to choose from as well as some specialty cocktails. We were a large group and had a blast. Major downside was no WiFi at all. The WiFi they have is only for them and they don’t share it.

Buyer beware!!

By TonyOysterBay |

This place is a ripoff. Their website states that there is an entry fee of $5.00 during Apple season, however, we went yesterday and were charged $35.00 per car!! They gave you a bag in which you could pick apples at max 15 ils. of apples.

Wish it wasn't so crowded!

By basil99 |

The winery is great for wine, food and entertainment. The only thing is it is too crowded! All year long!

Fun day out in the sun!

By Kim M |

If you like music and wine paired with pretty scenery, this is the place to go on a nice day. Live band on the weekends, good cafe (bring cash as they don't take credit cards at the cafe and the ATM occasionally runs out of cash) pretty setting and a fun wine tasting bar. You can also bring your own picnic and blanket and set yourself up on the lawn.

Great place to visit for food and drink

By nwelch54 |

The Winery is a hopping place. I was there to be part of the Farm to Fork Fondo Bike Tour and the events started and ended there. The Winery sells their wine as well as Whisky from the Black dirt distillery. The whisky is awesome and I recommend doing a tasting of all of them.

Best stop on our winery / brewery tour!

By Janet_Q |

I've been here before, so I did the spirits tasting this time (You can do wine, cider, spirits, or all three) I think it was $10. They really have built up an amazing collection of offerings over the years, and all of the liquors I tasted had merit. I think I would consider Warwick Valley the most professional, organized, and pleasant of the stops we hit all day. I'm happy that there are so many wineries starting up in the area, and hopefully more will follow WV's example. So nice that they have the heated patio area, the fire pit, and that they serve food. Great planning - hopefully they will be there for a LONG time!

Great place for a gathering of friends

By Debbi G |

Raining, chilly and yet still crowded. Given the weather, I think we had it easy and can only imagine what it must be like when the weather is beautiful! However, with all that said, the place is beautiful, the wine tasting was fun. My favorite is the Black Dirt Red.
We couldn't find a place to sit inside and it was only 12...as the day went on it only got more crowded. We sat outside enjoyed a great selection of food, the pizza was great, and shared a bottle of wine with friends. A lot of talk about the portosans - there have to be about 20 and they were clean by all accounts. The live music was great and ended up hanging around a lot longer than we expected and had a great time.

A Must Go To!

By L K |

The grounds, the food, and wine were impeccable. We had their wood fired brick oven pizza and the truffle fries for lunch. Both great! You can't go wrong with this place!

System needs work

By Dorirose |

One of the worst wineries I’ve been to. Their system of wine tasting takes forever. Will not return.

Weekend Girls Party!!

By Jenny |

Very nice place to go and sit and sip some Delicious Wine!! Live Music, and you can even throw a blanket on the lawn and sit and just enjoy the outdoors! Will definitely make this a regular place to go for some outdoor quality wine time, lol!!

Great relaxing winery

By KellySuzanne1981 |

I have been to this winery several times. If you don't like long lines then don't go in the fall. We usually go Mother's Day weekend. The lines are shorter, and you don't have to pay for parking. It's truly a great relaxing day. We pack a picnic and some outdoor toys for the kids and just hang out on the lawn listening to the house band, eat, and of course drink wine!

Wonderful day!

By Pat D |

This winery is amazing; free music, lots of space to toss a blanket and enjoy the fresh air. Along with wonderful wine, sangria there's great great food.
Come the fall great apple picking too!!
Can't have a bad time here!!

Awesome Wine And The Most Tasty Food

By Robert K |

This winery has it all, when you do the wine tasting you will have a hard time picking a favorite, there are so many great wines to choose. After you make your pick of wine, you go order some food to munch on, everything there is a culinary delight, you will not believe what is going into your mouth, it's amazing. You can sit in or outside, weekends they always have fantastic music to listen to. Everyone working there is extremely friendly and helpful. Can't say enough about Warwick Valley Winery, you can have a party with a bunch of friends or just bring your date.

Not worth the trip

By ANTONINO T |

I called and only received a recording to visit website for information. My question was do they allow pets. The website says no. Upon arrival I see a female chef with a black dog and a number of other people with dogs. Not service dogs or emotional support dogs but everyday pets barking up a storm and doing doggie things.
The second issue was where you get food. The waiting area is ridiculously hot. Yes it was very hot today but something could have been done to make it more bearable than a Wal-Mart fan. The pizza guys where a bunch of a holes. They should keep their comments to themselves when they are so close to the people buying their food. The cashier even turned her head around after the comments made. There is so much more to experience in this area. They really blew it.

Home of Doc's Cider

By BobHandTV |

I really liked this place as the home of Doc's Cider. For $20 dollars in October got tasing of spirits (5 bourbons), 5 ciders and 5 wines. A great deal. Also have food and pretty cheap glasses of ciders plus many places to stay. One of the must see cider places in Hudson Valley

Delicious Wine, Food Good, But Music was Too Loud

By Dwyer |

Aug 2022, came here with friends for lunch during the week. There was plenty of parking. However, as soon as we walked up to the place you could hear the LOUD MUSIC from the parking lot. Now I love rock music, but not when it is blasting like we were at a concert. We were going to sit in the front to eat and decided to sit in the back of the restaurant were it was quite and covered to protect us from the sun. I did ask the worker inside to turn down the music just a little to allow their customers to talk without shouting at each other, but I guess she forgot. I did not push the issue because we sat in the back, otherwise we would have left the restaurant. Now our meal. The Riesling Wine was delicious. We had the Apple Cranberry Salad with Grilled Chicken and the Pizza. Both dishes were good. All and all, to management please talk to your workers to make sure the music is not blasting so to give your customers peace of mind.

Apples, Eats and Drinks

By christopher p |

no better place to go apple picking. small orchard that is easy to conquer with kids. They provide tractor rides to the top when you buy an apple bag. The food in the cafe is delicious (pizzas, salads, sandwiches). outside there is a grill going with gourmet burgers and sandwiches. you can grab a glass of wine or hard cider outside and take it with you as you pick (try the pumpkin hard cider). the wine tasting room will give u a $5 tasting of several wines and you get to keep the glass. on busy weekends they will also have a tasting table outside. you can buy bottles of wine or cider and they will open it for you or you can take some home. live music on the weekends too. here are the drawbacks. it gets CROWDED. get there when it opens, set up your blankets and get your apple picking done. then come back get some drinks and lunch and relax while listening to the live music and enjoying the views. Only other drawback is that though it is a very family friendly place, there are not really any kid activities. they have bocce courts and and ice cream truck and that is it. bring a soccer ball, football or something else to do with the kids to keep them entertained.

Awesome!!!

By Michele91065 |

We have been coming here for over 10 years and it gets better each year. Although we love the early years when we had the place to ourselves and drank good wine with the owner. Now it's grown to a huge proportion but has a lot to offer. The food has always been excellent. The ambiance is awesome. We love this place!!! You'll be additted after your first visit.

A fun way to spend a weekend

By Jesusa D |

My son brought me to Warwick Valley Winery today 10/13 after Apple picking.
Lots of people @the winery. But ample parking. We selected the one where you get 4 chips-one chip per tasting-cheese plate, cider, wine, spirits. There was live music in the orchard which
made the event more upbeat. My favorite was the hard Apple cider. My son likes the Pear hard Apple cider. The cheese plate was the right portions. We didn’t finish the wine tasting, line was long and my son decided didn’t want to do the spirits anymore.
I went back to the cashier, said we were not doing the spirits. And she said “we like you to be happy” and said “ I’ll give your money back.” What a pleasant surprise! I didn’t expect her response. I was ready to exchange the chip for more cider.

Her name is Lori. She said she learned from an early age “to take care of my customers.” That’s really great customer service! Thank you Lori! I also like the way you explain the process of going around the tables. Haven’t been to your winery before so the info you gave was very helpful.
My son bought the Pear hard Apple cider. It was a nice afternoon. Nicer because of Lori.

Great location for a summer day out

By KatiLu |

We went with a gaggle of friends from college to hear a local band. Food is spectacular. Covered seating is available for inclement weather but we sat outside on a beautiful summer day. Lots of porta potties and they were all clean. Lots of liquor options: beers, ciders, wines. Apple and pear picking in the fall. Plenty of younger couples brought their little kids

Fall foliage winery visit

By Maryann Z |

The winery was a wonderful experience! The wine tasting was great although we went on a week day, and I could see how it would be packed on weekends. The grounds are really lovely in Fall. You can buy wine and cheese and sit on their pretty outside patio. There is a cafe, but they are only open Wed- Sunday. We enjoyed our visit.

Great Fall day trip

By Susan K |

I have been to this winery a few times in the past and it is always stunning, tucked away in Orange county. This time it was very crowded, long lines to buy anything, apple picking is $30 minimum, the music which is usually in the cute stage was near the food vendors. The lines seriously wrap around the entire place... That being said I sampled Sour Cherry hard cider and loved it. I bought a few bottles to bring home with me. We also had to park very far away, they explained that the rains forced them to shut down some muddy lots. oh well, still a cool place for a visit.

Looks Like A Great Place, But Not On The Weekend

By Dwyer |

August 15, 2020 (Saturday), this looked like a great Winery that we will have to revisit during the week when it is less crowded. The parking lot was packed, we just parked the car and sat inside for a few minutes and decided not to stay because there were so many people walking around the grounds mostly with face masks but some without. Honestly, there was no social distancing going on here and how could there be because they did not put a limit on the cars coming in. Although they handed us a flyer before we parked with rules for social distancing, no one was following them - good attempt on their part but a wast of ink and costly I’m sure. All and all, we will come back during the week when it is less crowded in Sept-October.

Nice Setting, Crowded, So So Food

By MapleAveCrowd |

Although I'm a local, this is the first time I've eaten here. Had lunch with a friend. This is pretty much a do it yourself place. They should hand out instructions when you enter. Had to ask directions at the restaurant on how to get a table, lunch and a glass of wine. Ordered a Caesar Salad, my friend ordered the Golden Beet and Arugula salad. Go find a seat and then my friend held it down while I searched for a glass of wine. Back at the table with the food and then to another area for napkins, knife, fork etc. Although there are several handicapped parking areas, this is not handicap friendly. Now the food. The search for the perfect (even good) Caesar Salad didn't end here. Romaine cut into tiny pieces like cold slaw, Kale cut into long, long strips, hard as nails croutons, tasteless dressing. My friend left half of her salad. No comment. Wine (Black Dirt Red) chilled and undrinkable.

Very crowded and hectic on this July 4th weekend. Tasters at the Wine Bar were plowing through samples and having a good time. Maybe better on a less hectic weekend. Open Friday - Sunday.

Day out with the Girls

By Queen69 |

First experience at wine tasting so I have nothing to compare this place to..Party of 8 women ages late 40's to mid 50's..We hired a limousine service for the day and we saw many other parties had done the same also several buses..This place isn't that big and was very crowded..Maybe because it was a Saturday in October..That's my guess..It cost $5 to taste 6 wines..Very reasonable..You get to keep your wine glass and take home which is a nice souvenir..They had live music..There were wood burning stoves throughout the shop and restaurant which made for a nice atmosphere..We arrived at around 11:30 am and immediately saved a table prior to tasting..So glad we were tipped off to do this because by the time we finished tasting it got so crowded no tables inside were available to sit and order food..There was a diverse clientele..Groups of people in their 20's..Family groups with children..Middle aged adults in their 50's and some even older..Women groups..Men groups..I guess anyone could enjoy it here..It was a little too crowded for my taste personally..And it was very loud..Long lines at the bathrooms..Had to wait for food but food was good..Rustic appetizers of meats, cheeses and fruits..Brick oven pizzas..All very fresh..I would go back again but maybe during the week or off season..Worth the money and experience..

A victim of its own success.

By searchin4it |

I've been to the winery at least a dozen times over the years and, unlike fine wine, it isn't getting better with age. The food is good, but used to be much better, with more interesting choices in the old days, not just the typical burgers-salad-pizza they have today. I believe students from a local culinary institute used to cook the food. This time, flies all over the food sitting on the counter awaiting pick up. Not good. Also, a 15% service charge added to the bill for food that is basically to go? There is no service, so it should most definitely be my choice, not theirs. The drinks are still good, and though I prefer the old place, the various additions to the place are ok. What I do recommend is not visiting on weekends as the crowds have just grown too big.

Beautiful setting

By mvOCDiva |

The winery is set in a lovely quiet area of Warwick. I stopped by one Saturday to pick up a bottle of hard cider (the Sour Cherry Hard Cider is fantastic) to take to a party, and there was live music as well!!

A winery with so many extras: apple-picking, live music, fresh pizza, and Black Dirt Bourbon.

By PerezJ9 |

Yes, there are wine tastings going on, but we'll have to come back for that next time. We had so much fun picking apples in the apple orchard and having lunch with a friend while listening to live music. The Warwick Valley winery is worth a visit, even if just to have lunch. We ordered the house pizza, and they were nice about customizing it to add sausages (to half of it). The ingredients are so fresh, two types of cheese, it had a distinctive natural flavor compared to regular NYC pizza. Our friend ordered a salad which also looked incredible, and there were many choices.

But there was a huge surprise in store: bourbon! Don't miss the tour of the distillery with the energetic and well-versed Craig, who drove us in a comfortable air-conditioned stretch van, which holds about 15 people, to the Distillery. It couldn't have been more than 2 miles down the road 'a piece' and you get to see actual black dirt farms and open panoramic views. Craig had all sorts of fascinating facts about Warwick, NY, the onion capital of the world! When we got to the distillery, Craig walked us through every step of the bourbon-making process, and there were quiz questions to keep us on our toes. The oak barrels alone were worth the tour, and it is nice and cool in the "rik"? At the end Craig whipped out a couple of bottles of the Black Dirt Distillery finished products, and graciously poured a taste for everyone in the group who wanted one, not for the faint of heart, these were plenty strong!

Food and wine in a nice setting... what more could you want?

By ps12 |

We read good reviews on TripAdvisor about this winery so thought we'd try it (we were staying at Grand Cascades for a wedding). We ended up sitting an outside table under an umbrella... and were lucky to get there when we did since the tables were all taken soon after we got there. The food looked amazing... we tried the vegetable pizza and grilled lobster. I don't eat lobster, but the pizza was the best pizza I've ever had. Coal fired with just the right combination of veggies. I had the hard cider ($4/glass), and my husband had a glass of wine ($5/glass). There was also sangria... or you could buy a bottle and share with friends.

Most of the people were there in larger parties... big groups of women enjoying a beautiful day. There was also a party with a lot of kids, which I'm not sure was exactly appropriate for a winery. Still, they couldn't detract from the beautiful setting, the great wine, and the delicious food.

Lovely day with family

By karenbearcountry |

Enjoyed our tasting and my future son in law enjoyed the bourbon tasting. Something for everyone. They had music and food. I will be back.

Amazing Every Time

By Mira |

Absolutely LOVE Warwick Winery! It’s always so crowded but it’s worth the wait especially for the food and apples! We had a wine and cider tasting today with Pamela and Nikki - they were both super knowledgeable about the products we were tasting and super friendly! The apples are beyond delicious and crisp. 100% recommend coming here!!!

Bag your lunch or eat well before coming here

By Angelo T |

The grounds were beautiful and the scenic venue is one of the best. Wine quality is as you would expect for wine made in the New York/New Jersey area. However, their ciders are top notch. Music was very good as well.

Now for the food. This is where it goes drastically wrong. Poor planning and logistics for trying to feed 500-1000 people. I've been a general manager for food service establishments for over 15 years and I can honestly say, Warwick Winery has no clue how to service a large crowd of hungry people. There is just a bunch of kids running the food vending and when I look at only 7 burgers on the outside grill, I kept telling the kid slinging burgers, "dude, there are 300 people on this food line, drop more burgers on the grill" Moreover, handing out buzzers to alert you when to pick up your food, really? You can't make burgers to order for 300 people on a food line. Burgers waiting on the table getting cold, because they need to page you. Unreal ! Disorganized & Unacceptable !

I get some of the reason I suppose. With only two places to get food (in the main building or out in the field under an open structure). I guess, you want to keep all of the profits "In house". In short, not enough food vendors to accommodate the masses. You cannot have only two food lines for nearly 1000 people. IMPOSSIBLE ! I have personally waited 1 hour and 17 minutes (actually timed) before eating a simple hamburger. Everyone their was complaining about the same thing.

If you are an executive of Warwick Winery reading this, please listen. If you cannot create more mobile "in-house" quick-serve food vending options which can easily serve hundreds of people quickly and efficiently, then please have a professional catering company come in and do it the right way. Not that I am suggesting this, but even a simple hot dog cart would have diffused the crowds to other food options and alleviate the grid lock at the only two places to source food.
At the very least, expand the grill capacity and have two more people cooking 30 burgers at a time. The guy serving corn was in cruise control relaxing, while the kid flipping burgers was sweating bullets.

If you have no intention to expand, then have minimum 2 guys making burgers on two grills, two prep guys finishing the toppings, one good expediter handing out the hot food, one order taker and one corn guy and throw the pagers in the garbage. If you are doing it the right way, you don't need the pagers.

I would have given a higher rating than one star, but when you are attracting professional people who enjoy an upscale wine festival, you expect more than the food buying experience offered at Great Adventure. I'm sorry but the food debacle just ruined the whole experience for me, and thus one star is all you deserve.

Fun day!

By Stephanie S |

Went here yesterday for a day trip. Very crowded and packed, but I’d say that’s the only down fall. Every staff member we encountered were kind, friendly and not remotely stressed by the crowds. Everything had a long line. Wine tasting, food, the store. But the grounds are well kept, very spacious, and lots to do. Tractor rides were nice and didn’t feel we waited too long to get on. It was $10 a car to get in. We waited in traffic quite a while to get there. Inside we felt it was quicker to buy a bottle of wine and they give you cups and ice then it was to wine taste. Bottles ranged from $13-20. They uncork for you. Wine tasting was $10 for 5 wines and a wine glass the tent was just too crowded. People were waiting over an hour to try and get to the wine. Apple picking was $35 for a bag you can fill. Cider donuts were $6 for half a dozen. Overall a fun day. Pricing was good I thought. Just very crowded but you expect that on a gorgeous fall day.

There is apple picking, and a big lawn that has bocce ball.

Wonderful Warwick Winery

By arubaphil |

My wife and I have visited Warwick Valley Winery on more than one occasion and always have a great experience. They have many wines to sample, as well as ciders, beer and gin to drink and buy. For $5.00 you can sample six wines and you keep the wine glass. Additionally, they have beer on tap and cider and a cafe that serves pizza, sandwiches, salads and assorted appetizers. They also host events, parties and concerts. I highly recommend Warwick Valley Winery for a fun day of food and wine.

Try the Ciders!

By Anna D |

Gets crowded here but has excellent pizza and the best cider ever. I love the raspberry and sour cherry flavors and they're not too sweet like many common brands. They've got a great tartness to them and I strongly recommends that everyone tries them! The grounds at the winery are beautiful as well. Worth a visit! If you don't feel like heading out to the winery then you can still get your cider ( as well as wine, gin, whiskey, and fruit cordials) at the Warwick Farmer's market on Sundays.

Not the kind of winery I'm used to...

By thenewgirl134 |

If youre looking for something to do its enjoyable, if you're looking for a wine tasting experience I'd say go elsewhere.

All together it looked like a nice place but the wine aspect was pretty disappointing- not the typical friendly experience I've always had. The group in front of us was asked to move aside before they had even finished their last tasting to make room, when we got to the front of the line it was more like being waited on in a busy McDonald's then by a local place that's proud of their wines. And then we found out they dont make their own wines, a little disappointing. The woman describing the wines spoke about them like an auctioneer and zipped away the second she was finished pouring, and then she would just stare at us ready to pour the next one, which made me uncomfortable and I felt like I had to drink fast! It was my boyfriends first experience at a winery so I felt like it wasn't a great experience for him.

Full of energy but crowded

I guess a good thing doesn't go unnoticed.
Our first time here, had a blast but it was very busy!
Pizza was VERY good.

Great day outdoor

By Andrea N |

Very nice for an outdoor day sipping good wine, or whatever else you fancy, withe friends. Best if you bring your own chairs and/or plaid, find a spot on the huge loan. Food available, but you can also go with your pickNick basket. In season l, you can also enjoy picking apples.

Annual visit to Warwick Valley Winery

By Tom D |

Every Fall we visit with our cousin to enjoy their wine and cafe. Veterans Day crowd was large but not overwhelming. Cafe's Cured Meats plate & Cheese plate are always delicious & served with great Italian bread (portions seemed a bit smaller than last year). Complimented with a chilled bottle of Chardonnay - a tasty luncheon.

Wines, spirits, cordials, ciders oh my!

There was WAY more than I ever thought there would be. And EVERYTHING we tried was amazing! Highly recommend you spend a little extra time here on your winery trail tours

Best Hudson valley winery by miles

By Traveller_savvy |

Warwick winery is by far my favorite. i have been to close to 10 other HV wineries, the experience at Warwick winery is by far the best. The restaurant attached to the winery which is open weekends is awesome. The food choices and quality are excellent. The wines a bit pricy but are chilled and are opened at the counter can be had with your lunch - a nice option

A must visit in the Hudson Valley, NY!!!

By Pedro DS |

I have visited pretty much every winery in the Hudson Valley, this is the one I keep coming back and bringing all my international and interstate guests, their wine is exceptional, they have a restaurant open on the weekends that offers an amazing artisanal pizza, great salads, sandwiches, etc... Live music on the weekends and great service!!! You can't loose by coming to this winery, I love it!!

Great wine and scenery!

By Mike Francesa |

My fiancee and I came here as part of our Warwick weekend. We really liked this place - they clearly have been doing this for a long time! They have such an abundant selection of wines, ciders, and liqueurs. Our tastingg host was very knowledgeable and did a great job handling all of the patrons that wanted a taste. Outside the weather was perfect during out visit. The sprawling apple orchards, bocci ball courts, and large patio with ample seating gave this place a true countryside, chilled-out vibe. I'd recommend this place 100% if you're in the area and I'd venture to say it's worth the drive.

TOO TOO TOO CROWDED!!!

By Jerseygrl9178 |

This was my second attempt to visit this winery with the hopes of a relaxing Saturday afternoon, drinking wine, listening to music and enjoying some food from their cafe. Our first visit here was horrible due to a festival that was going on and overcrowding - we left that time without ever doing a tasting or anything. We live almost 1 1/2 hours away from here, so it took us a few years to finally get back there.
This time, we went on a random Saturday afternoon in November, we arrived around 1:30 pm. When we arrived the tasting bars (both outside and inside) were PACKED. We peeked into the cafe and noticed that it was also packed with no empty tables. We asked someone if there was a wait for a table and their response was "no, just make friends and try to find somewhere to sit". Um, no. Besides, there were no empty chairs, so how would that even work?
We decided to attempt to do a tasting at the bar, for which we waited in line about 10 minutes until there was an open space. Then we noticed there was a tasting menu on the bar, with 3 wines, and three hard ciders. Problem being, I don't drink cider, so I figured, great guess I'm not doing a tasting either. But the woman working at the bar (who by the way was actually very friendly), said it was not a problem, and I could do a wine only tasting if I wanted to. (so the tasting menu was very misleading and shouldn't be there at all - it would've deterred us had we not been able to ask). We actually LOVED all of their wines and they were very reasonably priced, so we did end up buying 3 bottles to take home. Then, we attempted to stand and wait/look for a table to sit at, but it was clear NOBODY was leaving. There were tons of large parties (10 or more people) taking up all of the tables and space. After about 15 minutes of standing around in the doorway with nowhere to sit, and our stomachs growling with hunger, we left, extremely disappointed. We drove 1 1/2 hours and 65 miles for nothing but a wine tasting, and had to go somewhere else to eat lunch and actually drink wine.
This was definitely our last attempt at going to this winery. It seems like it would be great if you were lucky enough to go when it isn't so crowded, but I have no idea when that would be, and we can't afford to take the trip again to be disappointed once again.

Afternoon in H###

By Kathy Z |

I don't like leaving a bad review, but I just spent Sunday afternoon in hell. Our first visit to the winery on Mother's Day 2017 was pleasant so my family decided to go again. MISTAKE! The venue was vastly overcrowded and management seemed only to see $$.

Everywhere we turned there were longggg lines. Starting with a half hour to use one of the four outdoor johns, to the hour spent on the food ordering line (no outside food allowed) and three plus additional hours until our food was ready. And that was only because we finally had had enough and insisted on seeing a manager. I heard a lot of people voiding their orders after waiting hours in frustration.

A bad experience all around and one that I won't be repeating.

Wine Varies, Good Cider

By spiralated |

We've been to the property several times over the last five years. The liquors and cider are always fabulous, the wine varies year to year. We try to go during the more quiet times, and you should not go during apple-picking season unless you have patience for huge crowds and lines.

Wonderful Venu, but....

By NanNY17_11 |

I live local and have spent many days at Warwick Winery; unfortunately this winery has become extremely popular and is usually crowded. We always feel a desperation to get there to secure a parking place and a table. When we have, we always have a nice time; the wines are good, the bourbon is stellar and when they have music, the result is such a terrific way to spend a day. Be prepared to NOT bring your own food, you will be told to pack it up! The food offered at Warwick Winery is especially good, so really no reason to bring your own. Be prepared as they take cash only. There is an ATM on site.
As they have changed the policy on welcoming leashed dogs, we will rarely plan future visits. There exists other amazing Hudson Valley wineries that welcome dogs!!!
Warwick Winery hosts the annual Orange County Land Trust function which we will continue to attend. Always a wonderful evening with an abundance of delicious food and cocktails, and an enjoyable jazz ensemble. I pray this doesn't change as well!

Winery, Distillery, orchard and much much more!

By Laurene B |

Sunday-arrived there at opening time-$5 CASH to park. Bought bag to go apple picking in the orchard. Lots of families, food and music. Paid $15 for a tour of the distillery (about a mile away-bussed over) and received a glass and tasting of the new Black DIrt Applejack and Bourbon-yummy! Wristband also brought 10% off purchase in the store (love me a discount!) ate, enjoyed the sunshine and some Doc's Cider. All in all a great way to spend the first Sunday of fall.

Nice find!

By Touringdoc |

We visited around noon on a Monday. Despite being an off day the place was busy. The tastings were good. We bought several bottles. The location is quite pretty. Buy some snacks (we got hummus and pita chips) and sit outside and enjoy nature and drink your wine.

Fun on a budget

By Mary W |

I love this winery! It surpassed my expectations when I went for a tasting and now make sure to stop by whenever I am in town to enjoy the live music, do a tasting or just purchase some of the ciders they sell. Tastings are just $5 and you get to keep a Warwick Valley Winery glass which was fun! I love the red Dirt blush wine and the Peach cider. There is live music during the summer (and maybe other times - I’m not sure) and you can purchase glasses of your favorite drinks to sip on the patio at low prices. They also sell things not always found at wineries like bourbon, port, desert liquors and gin. A fun experience that can take as much time as you like.

Bring a blanket and your friends on the weekends in the summer

By KelleyAndMatt |

Try their Asian Pear wine, and their Raspberry Apple Hard Cider - YUMMO! They have fantastic entertainment on the weekends in the summer - our favorite is the Watkins Glen Revisited festival. The lobster rolls are terrific, as is all of the fare they offer. Prices are $$$ however, worth every drop, every bite.

Beautiful grounds

By Beth L |

Such beautiful grounds. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area or visiting.

Unexpected Entry Fee $35 a car and COVID concerns

By Kurt R |

On a beautiful Saturday, the first weekend of October, we headed to the winery where we have visited 2 other times this late summer and early fall. We arrived in two cars as we had six people and were told we had to pay $70 before we could park. Albeit they gave us a bag to pick apples. It’s a scam to ask people to pay to pick apples when we were there to enjoy the vibes of a winery. Their web site says apple picking was $30 if you wanted to pick.

We then waited for a table (first come first serve) so be prepared to stand around and wait. We were lucky to find a table. Another draw back is they make you buy food before you can buy wine, hard cider or beer.

We ordered food. The truffle fries were great as was the pizza and what they called a lobster roll (not your lobster roll from Maine for sure).

One disturbing thing that put us off was the overly outward display of public affection of to males at a table on the main deck. That kind of affection belongs behind closed doors.

On the COVID front there were numerous people walking around with no mask or mask not covering their mouth and nose. In the food and drink lines there was no social distancing and the staff continued to say “please keep us open and keep six feet apart” there used to be orange lines on the ground - they were no longer visible.

With the rapid rise in COVID again and outside gathering limits that NYS has imposed, we will not go back until management is responsible to manage the crowds on property.

Perfect place to spend an afternoon

By Jessica B |

This place is the perfect, quaint-but-bustling place to spend an afternoon in the country. They have an indoor cafe with really great pizzas, salads, sandwiches, and other local-grown/made delights. Outside there's a grill with everything from burgers to even fresh tacos! For $5 you get to taste a variety of their wines and ciders (and keep a commemorative wine glass)! I recommend doing that first, then deciding what you like best and you can buy a pint of cider or glass of wine to enjoy with lunch. The store sells all of their products plus some great accouterments to go with. You could spend the whole afternoon sitting outside, sipping a beverage, enjoying some great food, and on weekend afternoons they have live music! Walk along the fields or enjoy a picnic. Play some bocce ball with friends or strangers-turned-friends. Everyone is really nice. It's a relaxing getaway.

Can take it or leave it...not very interesting

By Carol A |

We had a fun day even though it was cold and windy. My opinion is that there is not enough places for people to sit and eat. If you had chairs in a group and anyone got up to get food, go to the bathroom, get a drink you had to guard you chairs with your life. Also, the food is just mediocre not what its cracked up to be. There are rows and rows of Porta Potties, and the wine tasting was so unorganized. Instead of giving out the glasses when you enter, you have to wait until you can squeeze in somewhere for the wine tasting to get a glass (was a long wait) Trying to to fight to get a spot in the many tables set up for the tasting was almost impossible. Then you have rude people that have been drinking that won't let you in. Maybe I would have enjoyed the place more if it was spring when you can walk around and enjoy the property. If it was not for the group of girls I was with I would not have enjoyed it as much as I did. Also, It is a far ride from Bergen County

Wonderful

By jan c |

My family went to the winery and I was the DD. They did the wine tasting and had 6 tastes for $5 each. The server was very knowledgeable and pleasant. We bought a couple of bottles to go home. A lovely experience. Not rushed. It was a weekday and there was no pizza. We'll have to go back for some. I hear it's delicious. 😃

Warwick 2016

By CindyLW137 |

I don't expect a lot from the grapes in this region. After one sip of the white, I knew that the grapes were not local. My suspicions were valid, the grapes are grown in the Finger Lakes which have some good wines. The grounds are beautiful with tables and umbrellas for sitting. There are good food choices as well which was great since we were there on a sunny Summer day and couldn't get anywhere near the tasting table. Very popular and deservedly so. Will go back on a less popular time to taste.

Awesome

By mackenzie143 |

I've been here 2 times now and I've had a great experience both times. The first time I came with my mom and we spent about 2 hours here; the second time I came with my best friend for a quicker visit but both times I walked away loving the experience. The wine tasting is so cheap and they give you a lot more than I was expecting. The woman pouring the wines was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and ciders and any questions you had she was more than happy to answer. You can order food there, although I haven't done that yet, and sit out on the patio, but they also have gourmet cheeses and snacks inside if you just want to grab some dip or crackers to have with your wine. It's a really cute place and I'll definitely continue coming back. I would like to be able to spend more time there when I go and I've never been there when there's been live music so I'm missing out on that for sure but unfortunately their hours (although like most winery hours) are a little bit limiting because it's a bit of a drive, so I do wish they were open a little bit later!

Cancelled the food order because of the Surcharge

By Roam66517180809 |

Warwick is charging a 15% Surcharge in lieu of tips. A tip is based on level of service. You order your food at a register, they text you when its ready. You pick it up and now scramble to find a seat. Where is the service? Will never go back.

Relaxing atmosphere, delicious food, interesting ciders

By Aydenwood |

A local told us to visit Warwick on our way through the area. We were delighted with our experience: attentive and friendly servers, tasty food and a beautiful view. Not a cider fan but it was fun to try them.

First Friday after school starts

By vislockm |

A bunch of friends gather here every year once school starts. It has become a tradition. I always get the margarita pie and some ladies get the salads. We start off with sangria and the afternoon is always a pleasure. Good food, great friends and a lovely place to spend your day.

seems like fun

By 3rcircus |

Spent day in nearby sugar loaf village. We're looking for something else to do on trip advisor. Found the winery. We were pleased, nice wine tasting and cider. Looks like the crowd there for music was enjoying the band. We arrived later afternoon so didn't eat there. But, if back in area would try the cafe. If you like wineries check it out.

Great Place - Not for Fall Weekends in Covid.

By corinneemm |

It was really nice here, beautiful views and spacious to accommodate so many apple pickers/cider drinkers. There were a lot of people though and capacity should maybe be a bit more limited.

One of our friends arriving later was turned away and told to come back at a certain time only for them to let other cars in before then. Seemed unfair she missed out for that reason.

Lovely selection of Cider, wine and spirits and the tasting was a good deal that came with a souvenir cup. The tractor bringing you to the upper orchard was nice and spaced out the day a bit more. Apples were good.

If we did not arrive as early as we did around 11:30am I doubt we would've been let in.

So many options!

By Johanna L |

They have cider, wine, cordials, liquor... so much more than you would expect from a little place. Great atmosphere & great drinks! Definitely recommend trying this place

Warwick Winery

By carmenhernandez2020 |

Although there were restrictions due to covid and social distancing and you don't get the winery experience it was still amazing and worth the trip. Love music was awesome. The food selections were plenty and the food is amazing. The wine and cider selections were plentiful. I recommend the Sour Cherry and Pumpkin Cider. You have to order food, flights and cider on line due to social distancing so order in advance if you can. Beautiful flowers, beautiful winery. I will most definitely make the trip again.

A wonderful day trip

By Joyce R |

Desiring to combine a mini vacation with our love of the vine, we drove to the Warwick Valley Winery. It was so much more than we expected. The getting there was a pleasant drive through gorgeous farm country vistas with cute little farm stands selling veggies just picked that morning. When we arrive and pulled into the parking lot, we were charmed immediately. You viewed acres of corn and sunflowers and a quaint cottage that was the tasting room. It was very reasonably priced and the wines wee good enough for us to purchase several bottles for our collection, It MUST BE SPECTACULAR IN THE FOLIAGE SEASON!!

Friendly people eager to please in a cute rustic setting

By Mary Ellen S |

Warmth just oozes from the wonderful team at Warwick Valley Winery. They have a bounty of things to try - from the wines to their distilled spirits and hard ciders - so there should be something to please everyone. Sadly, we only like really sweet wines, but came up short for us. But it was terrific bantering with the ladies here who told us all about the happenings that bustle there in the warmer weather. Sounds like it's worth a trip back to enjoy the outdoors with the pizza and spirits. Couldn't be more welcoming!

Wigglebutts Uncorked Brunch

By CityPupMom |

A nice winery to spend a day with family, friends, and pups. The scenery, food and wine are delicious ... but bring your patience as the lines are LOOOOONNNNGGGGG. I'd also suggest bring your own sitting accouterments, just incase there's an event. Oh, one last thing ... Port-o-Pots for toileting.

Warwick to Weeds

By Rob T |

I visited the Warwick Winery this past Sunday and was outraged they charged a $5 parking fee. Ok, lets add insult to injury - I paid the fee (I had driven 60 miles).....the weather was cold in the low 40's....there was a tasting tent that was packed and no heat..brrrr....then I went to the main building. The staff were less attentive and more on staying warm since there was no heat....Needless to say, I was "OUTTA" there within 15 min. I have also been to Weeds Farm in Marlboro that has kicked up their game in the past year. I called and asked if their new barn was heated and they said YES!! I drove another 44 miles but......SO WORTH IT....the barn that stands in an apple orchard had live music, HEAT!!!, and food......GREAT EXPERIENCE THAT I WILL REPEAT!!!

Spring Trip

By C & R |

Good place for a spring trip. The winery is very nice, but crowded no matter what time you get there. Everybody is very respectful with space, keeping distance and mask. Live music on weekends.

FOOD: The menu offers a variety of dishes: pizza, salad, soup, sandwich, charcuterie board. The waiting time to be served can take an hour or more. But the wait is worth it. The food is delicious and orders are accurate.

DRINKS: Be aware that you have to buy food, at least a bag of chips, in order to buy drinks. There are two areas for drinks. The tasting area or the wine store, where you can buy the bottles from the tasting area. Tasting package cost $20.00 for a complete set that includes Apple cider, wine, and spirits. You also get 3 souvenirs glasses for each type of drink.

OUTDOOR: Plenty area to sit. In the café, patio area or picnic area. You can bring your picnic blanket and chairs.

Overcrowded!!

By KaMar4486 |

I wish I would have read some of the reviews before driving an hour to this winery. During this past weekend's festival, it was over crowded, no social distancing, some people without masks, trash spilling over in the trash cans and on the lawn, port a potties that were disgusting and no parking! The wine tasting was a joke as they gave you samples in a box that were spilling before you even opened it so you barely had a taste of their wines. I think this would be a very enjoyable place to visit if they controlled the number of people and enforced some guidelines to keep people safe.

Really enjoyed it; beautiful grounds

By Onthebacknine |

Having enjoyed some fall trips on the NY State wine trails, I recently visited the Warwick Valley Winery given its proximity and its reputation as a fun place. I really enjoyed it; that said, I went on a weekday and there were only about six other couples at the entire place. The pros: no traffic in getting there, no crowds whatsoever, no parking fee, good opportunity to engage in discussion with the staff (who I have to give kudos to--very pleasant, informative, passionate about what they do) and a nice chance to enjoy the wines, ciders, gin, grappa, etc. Cons: you don't have the music, the fun of the crowds, and no opportunity to even avail yourself of food as the cafe/bakery is closed. My advice would be to go on a weekday if you can. Have lunch in town and head over to the winery. Great place.

Packed! But for good reason.

By Stephanie M |

Guess we went ‘off season’ a few years ago, the place was mobbed! The food looks delicious but we didn’t partake. We did the cider and wine tastings, sad that we didn’t get to choose which samples, it was set flights, but overall great bang for your buck, not that expensive at all and had a blast.

The best overall winery in the area!!!

By iamyellowjeep |

Beautiful location, great food and fabulous outdoor entertainment! Consistantly a great time!!! We look forward to the summer outdoor festivals!

A very enjoyable afternoon

By John41354 |

My adult daughters and I visited this this winery this past Tuesday. The weather was in the mid-90s and very humid. We did all three tastings. You are given a menu available wines and spirits to sample. These are all very inexpensive as I have gone to the wineries throughout the United States. The young ladies serving the wines and spirits were extremely informative right down to your they get the raw ingredients and how they are put together for the best outcome. My only wish would be that they had more dry red wines. I am a huge gin drinker and their distilled gin was very distinctive in flavor and aroma. I am not a big bourbon drinker but there’s was smooth and easy.
After we finished wine and spirit tasting we purchase another bottle of wine that we had tasted as well as some pretzels and some chocolate hummus we took to a covered area table that had a nice breeze. Several farm animals, chickens, roosters and ducks made themselves at home walking around and they were very photogenic.

Annual visit never disappounts

By Marjo725 |

Each year my friends and I travel to the Warwick Valley Winery for a fun weekend. We always meet at the winery for good fun, music, very delicious food and of course, the wine. Our favorite is the Red Dirt, so delicious, we drink cases of it and bring some home as well. We usually stay for hours, eating, drinking, dancing and singing. It's great place.

Beautiful surroundings for a Fall day

By MadisonW22 |

Been here before covid life so I was interested on how things would be managed. It was a Friday afternoon so not overly crowded and we able to get a socially distance table outside. There were plenty of areas to sit with picnic benches too up on the hill. The system worked well with ordering food inside and then being texted when ready. You needed to show your receipt you purchased food to get your alcohol. Everyone had masks on so it gave me comfort. We ordered the BBQ pork sandwich and the sausage, garlic cheese pizza. The food has always been good so no disappointment there. First time having the Black Dirt Bourbon and coke and it was very flavorful. Of course the wine is always good and it was perfect for the fall day. I would say the weekends would be more crowed like everything during this new covid life as we try to get some nature chill time.

Wonderful friendly staff.
Delicious wine and breathtaking view.
Deliteful afternoon spent relaxing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
Highly recommend the Black Dirt Red and Bourbon

Wonderful

Outstanding service and wines. However, they are not just about their wines, they also have hard ciders and bourbons to choose from. Highly recommend!

Cider tasting was amazing!

He had cider and I had the wine! When they say black dirt, they aren't kidding. There's a restaurant too and the food was gourmet and super tasty!

when youre local, you know to stay away from here during the busy season from september through october. But every other month this place is amazing. The staff is excellent the wines are good and the entertainment is always nice. A great way to spend and afternoon.

Bright sunny Sunday...place loaded with families.....the wine tasting was fun....bought a few bottles....an enjoyable afternoon...

Delicious food and wine

By Carl M |

Warwick Winery is great. We have been there multiple times. There is plenty of space and beautiful grounds. The pizza is delicious and complete the wine. Only problem was the large number of bees. Don’t wear cologne or heavy perfume.

Great Fall Day-Winery, Apples and Live Music

By Getlostwithallofus |

Great place to go for a fall day. They have wine tasting, apple picking, live music, and bourbon tours. There pumpkin cider is awesome! The fall is awesome time to go for apple picking and foliage. Great food!

We came here as part of the wreath event. I was not impressed. The staff was attentive but the wine wasn't so good. I wouldn't come back.

Cider & Spirits

By Debra B |

Stopped in to check out the Black Dirt Region's Bourbons, wines and ciders after many people referred us to the Warwick Winery during our stay at Crystal Springs in nearby NJ. We enjoyed a delicious tasting of the spirit at Warwick and a tour of the bourbon black dirt Distillery during the week. We had such a good time we brought friends back on the weekend and happened to catch a a spectacular Fall Festival offering the new ciders after dinner cordials in addition to the spirits and wines. We partook in the restaurant his time and had a spectacular margarita pie in addition to splitting an artisan cheese tray while lounging outside to some folksey local tunes. We'll be back to enjoy more samples and bring the wholesome tastes of Warwick home to relax and recount the good times spent at this gem of a winery and distillery that serves up something that will please everyone!

Lovely Even During Covid

What a great beautiful place to go even during Covid!! Great food, great wine and well organized for safety during these troubled times. Go!

Great atmosphere

By ColinRobina |

Really like their cider and their dirt wine. Good atmosphere and plenty of entertainment. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys wine tasting.

Great wines and ciders!

By Lgwoolever |

This is the home of Doc’s Draft Apple cider. There are many other great cider flavors available, and there’s always a special seasonal variety as well. Their wines are also very good, and range from dry to sweet. Beautiful venue for parties too!

If you get there on a beautiful day, it is one amazing place to spend it!

By LoveToTravel0007 |

Having wine is fun, tasting it is exciting, good food is yummy and beautiful grounds make you feel like you are in heaven. Combine all of these and you get WVW. Seriously, just go. You will have a blast. Their food was really fresh and well priced. People bring their pets here and they were all well behaved. The ambiance is very laid back and we ended up meeting new friends who live in the town next to us.

Also, you get 6 wine testings for $5 AND you get to keep the glass. Who can go wrong with that? Our favorite was black dirt red. Plenty of parking as well :)

A perfect lunch

By Golgo8 |

We went here while driving through and it was a gem of a find. The wine, food and atmosphere were fantastic. This place must be amazing when the leaves are changing or on a nice summer day. We will be back!

Great escape

By Eve_Kavun123 |

It was so great to visit Warwick Valley winery. All the employees were friendly and fun. Tasting was awesome.Next year will definitely visit for apple picking. Ciders that are made by the winery are delicious with season flavors such as pumpkin and cranberry!!

A lovely hobby

By Gerard1448804 |

Active facility which provides fun to visitors in terms of music, apples and pears from the orchard and fair food. The wine leaves something to be desired if compared on a broader level but the cider is good. Entry is free except when there are certain events like Bob Dylan weekend.

Happy to find it open in april

By dbrassard2016 |

Imagine this place must be busy in the summer—the outdoor seating area looked lovely. Copper hammered bar in the tasting room. You can mix your tasting with options from the wine, hard ciders and cordials. We liked the hard cider with strawberry and the sour cherry cordial the best.

Busy, vibrant, commercial

By pandentom |

We arrived in a Saturday afternoon. Music was good, and they have a fantastic set up for serving food outside and inside. It was busy with bus loads arriving and we found it difficult to get seating as it seemed that many people would meet and spend the afternoon relaxing here with friends/family. Some people bought there own seats/rugs. Wine/Cider/Liquer tasting was poorly organized. Wine tour was also cancelled...we were not sure why. However, it was a nice place worth a visit.

Tasty wine

By Nicole V |

The wine was excellent, very smooth no bad after taste. I would definitely recommend this place. Beautiful outdoor seating area and you order your food and wine and sit where you like. Black dirt red was my favorite.

Friendly, Fun and Charming!

By lyndon2 |

We had the MOST wonderful time. Alyssa our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was very nice and made us comfortable.
we loved some of the wines and bought the port and the black currant liquor.
We would highly recommend a visit here. Worth your time!

Great band, great wine, cider, and food.

By Theresa |

High praise for this winery. My older son had planned a last minute surprise birthday gathering for his brother. The weather didn't co-operate, it rained the entire day, from drizzle to downpour. Yet we all had a good time, under the building overhang. There is also a huge tented area. The e'lissa jones band was simply fantastic. Even the young children of my son's friend were entertained! Wine, cider, food all good. Friendly staff. Long drive for all of us, but we will be returning. This winery was selected due to my sons previous visit!

Great fun! Terrible wine!

By Christine B |

Great live music, good food, nice atmosphere. TERRIBLE WINE!! I’m mean entirely un-drinkable. We did the $10 wine tasting …. Which was very disorganized, and we waited quite a while before someone would help us… We sampled 5 wines …all awful… the Pinot Noir was the absolute worst.
Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we ordered a bottle of sangria to try with our cheeseburgers … That was awful too.
Great Outside fun on a Saturday in October. Just don’t drink the wine!

Place to go with friends and have a great afternoon.

By Worldofood |

The wine is OK, but the overall experience is amazing. Great variety of pizza & salads, live local music combined with great outdoor sitting area and the apple orchids surrounding makes the visit memorable. We have been here several times with friends and every time everyone has an amazing time.

$5 wine testing is fun. We liked their dessert wine selection.

Beautiful venue for meeting friends, listening to live music, great food and wine & special occasions !

By Kathleen E |

This is a lovely winery in a gorgeous serene location. It is situated on a quiet country road in Warwick NY. Black dirt farms abound, fresh produce is abundant here. Perfect setting for informal gatherings or formal gatherings like a wedding or other celebratory occasion ! Lovely staff and service, wine tasting, gift shop, great food....always a fun time.

So many people, so many strollers...

By JudyMetroNYCarea |

When I think winery in the Warwick Valley, I don't usually think of mountains of strollers, but there it is....mountains of strollers and kids.

This is more of a picnic area that also sells wine, not really a winery with picnic facilities. There were Porto-pottys and blankets and music and kids and food....

The staff was very nice but I could sense this may have at one time been a fun place to work but probably now they get a bit fed up with all the people. While we were waiting for a tasting, the staff had to tell a few young ones who didn't understand the concept of a tasting to move it along. I think they thought it was a bar where you hang out for hours. I don't blame the girl who was working, she probably deals with this all day long.

We went, we tried it, but I prefer the less crowded, smaller wineries with peace and tranquility.

For the younger crowd, this might be fine, but leave the strollers at home. It's a winery, not a playground.

Great food & wine

By kelltrip |

we love this winery. Lots of live music. It can get VERY busy and have a very long wait (up to 1.5 hrs in the fall) for food. however, the food is delicious! they make their own wine on site and it is delicious

Ok wine

By Brie Valentino |

My boyfriend and I went here because we had the wine passports and this is included. We have gone here once before and just thought the wine was ok. The only thing they do well is the hard cider. The last time we went here it was so crowded and loud we had to push our way to the bar. Parking was terrible as well.

First time at Wine Tasting

By Paul |

Unfortunately i did not get name of the young woman serving us BUT she was so informative and helpful. I have to admit I am not a fan of Hudson Valley wines BUT these wines were very good and I bought two bottles. I will definitely be back with friends

Our favorite place!!!!

By USTraveler2015 |

My husband and I love to come here. The food from the kitchen is excellent (you can't go wrong with a Margarita pizza and the Apple/Walnut/Gorgonzola salad). We love buying a bottle to accompany our lunch or if it's pouring well the Black Velvet (Warwick's own little black & tan). It's definitely a spot that's been getting more crowded, but how could it not when this place is just so fabulous!!!!

Tuscany in the Hudson Valley

By Lizbeth S |

This local vineyard is a must visit! The experience is amazing. Fantastic wines, local ciders, the gourmet pizza and charcuterie trays and delicious. Plenty of activities for the kids and adults. There are several music festivals and special events held here. The food, the grounds, the atmosphere, the wine, all worth the drive. Bring a blanket or chairs and pick a spot on the grounds or enjoy the umbrella covered tables on the patios. Either way, a great spot for family or friends.

Beautiful place

By Keziah F |

Spent Sunday afternoon here with friends. Grounds are beautiful wine and food are good and the live music was fun.

Don't plan a party here!

By SkiBunny75 |

When I asked about celebrating my dad's 75th birthday here I was told I couldn't bring balloons or any decorations, and if I did we'd be asked to take it down. There are several other wineries that are a lot more laid back and fun environment than here!

Saturday out.

By Jcruic |

Went to the winery for the third time They had a great band, good wine tastings ,and good spirits. There are a lot of people there, with party buses and even Families

Crowded terrible parkiny

By Barton B |

Visited today. Very crowded. Parking terrible. Long walk. Cafe very small. Long long wait. Not a good experience

Nice place for summer concert

By ZhuZhu L |

Their wine are mediocre but the winery itself is fun to walk around. Nice place for summer concert. .

Wine and Pizza

By chetnluz |

We have visited the Warwick Winery a few times but never ate there until today. I heard that they have great pizza and that is an understatement. We had a hot soprasatta that was one of the best pizza's we ever had. This is an amazing Winery.

By Rob K |

The winery used to be the place to go when you wanted to get away and relax. Now with the increased exposure (due in large part to the great atmosphere and word of mouth) it's very difficult to go here and not run into a large crowd.

Fall, spring and summer are certainly the busiest, but winter is also a great time to visit and sit by the fire. The food is absolutely amazing but make sure you get there before it's all gone. Oh, and the wine is pretty go also!

Average

By ADbomtony |

The winery charged $15/person entrance fee for a Bob Dylan "festival". The festival was not worth the money. The winery apparently does a festival ever so often; recommend calling ahead before visiting.

The wines were not impressive. If you prefer full-bodied and crisp wines, this is not the place for you.

The black currant cordial was the best thing we tasted.

They do not accept credit cards for food purchases or tastings.

Why charge $5 just to park_!

By Rob S |

We're locals who really enjoy visiting the winery. They offer beautiful views, great music and food as well as excellent ciders (the wine is good too).

Today we wanted to visit them again, and we were requested to pay $5 to park. They told us that is "always" the case in Sept. / Oct., though we never encountered that before. Anyhow, this is odd and excessive, as the rest of the summer they charge nothing. They are located out in the countryside and there is no mass transit, so you are kind of stuck. As a normal gesture of hospitality it makes sense not to charge for parking (it's not like your're in the city with premium real estate values), but now they want to charge. It's a strange philosophy, since we leave plenty of our money there anyhow. Why do they think this is necessary or justified?

So we left. Luckily, they do not have a monopoly and there are attractive alternatives. We went to another nice place where we could also sit outside to enjoy great music and drinks. Their loss . . .

Great way to spend the day

Great day at Warwick Vineyard & winery

By Orlando Z |

A day planned with family and friends in a beautiful vineyard and great views in the Black Dirt Region of southern Orange county in New York. We started with wine and hard cider tasting and the service was tremendous. Onto to fresh Margarita pizzas and exotic salads with one of my favorite wines Black Dirt Red. Can't wait till go back again !

Such a gem!!

By emhayes |

This was so unexpected, as my husband and I have visited Napa, Sonoma and Tuscany. To say we werent expecting much would be an understatement. Boy were we wrong! What an adorable place! The wines were good, the ciders excellent and the atmosphere was awesome. We went on a Sunday, had a wine tasting, and then got lunch at the cafe and sat outside (with heat lamps- it was a blustery November!). I had the cheese plate and bought the Pinot Gris wine. Both were great! My husband bought some Pumpkin cider and had the pulled pork sandwich- super tasty. We cant wait to come back with friends and spend an afternoon here. I would imagine during the summer months it would be even better, as you can sit outside on the patio. Really impressed with this place, cant wait to come back! A gem in the middle of nowhere!

Great Place

By Lisa D |

Went to the winery mid october and must say I was very pleased. We did the wine tasting. It was $5 per person and we got to taste 5 wines and a cordial. The guy explained everything to us about the winery and the wines and he was very knowledgeable and I am so sorry that I forgot his name. You also get to keep the glas which is engraved whixh I thought was very nice. We then took a tractor to pick apples. There were still alot of apples left but of course since it was close to the endof October I wouldnt have thought differently. There is parking for $5 on premises. All in all I highly recommend it for a fun day of apple picking and wine tasting combined.

Beautiful Place-do NOT wait on the food lines at the Bakery/Cafe'

By JRM10009 |

Beautiful little winery (wines are made from wines from other locations) nestled in a valley. Worth a stop to check out the place and sit on the lawn and listen to live bands. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was PACKED!! Waited on a one hour long line for food ( no notification during that long wait at from ANY staff as to the wait time for food after we ordered) and when finally ordered was told it was a 10 to 40 minute wait depending on what we ordered. Skip the food-not worth it unless there is no line.

Wonderful afternoon.

By Valerie M |

Wonderful place to spend an afternoon. I've been a few times and enjoy it so much I leave waiting to return. The wine tasting is well priced and fun. We go and bring a blanket and sit on the lawn with food from the cate (open Friday-Sunday) and enjoy the wine, the view, and the environment. When bands play, it's even better.

One of Our Favorites

By travelmommaNyc |

We've been going to Warwick Valley winery for several years now. We love the live music on weekends, the food and of course, the wine. We live in NYC and when we have cabin fever during the colder months, we pack a board game and load the kids (teens) into the car and drive up for the afternoon. The cafe serves excellent food at reasonable prices. One of our favorites is the spinach and goat cheese pizza. The wines vary and we usually do a tasting each time we go up. I like their whites much more than their reds, which I find to be thin and tart. They have excellent fruit liqueurs and if you like hard cider, then you can't beat Doc's. The apple and pear ciders are my favorite. They also have a gin distillery. I am not a gin drinker so I can't really say if it's good quality or not. All in all, it's one of my favorite places to relax on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. If you're planning to visit during the colder months, plan on arriving early (before the music starts) to get a table.

A very lively Winery!

By legzlie |

I have been to the Warwich Valley Winery twice. Both times have been very active, great music and a fun wine shop.

By Natalie C |

Myself and my boyfriend visited here with friends who live in Sleepy Hollow.
We had visited a local Christmas tree farm that day and were in need of a refuel!
Well this was a hidden treasure and definitely worth the drive.

I must note I am a Vegan so was apprehensive of what this place had to offer.
I had the stone fired pizza and requested my own toppings (no cheese, tomato sauce, mushroom, basil and garlic). It was absolutely delicious. One of the chefs even came out to my table to reassure me that the pizza was vegan and asked if it was ok. It made me love the place even more!
We also did the wine trail tasting which included: Harvest Moon, Black Dirt Red, Docs Draft Hard Pumpkin Cider, and Bartlett Pear Liquor. Well I loved them all. I ended up buying a bottle of the Harvest Moon and the Black Dirt Red and bringing them all the way back to London!
I love the idea of supporting local businesses and boy does it pay off.
A must visit!

Great fun, great place to go, great wine! Good times!

By queenartist |

This is a fun place - whether spur of the moment or planned! A great day for family (picking apples - sipping wine) or go for one of the festivals! ALWAYS a fabulous time! And the food! Outrageous and yummy - always! The mountains and surrounding area is spectacular and picturesque! Just a wonderful place to go!

By Tmon33 |

We enjoyed our time here after getting through the crowds to understand how it "works" at the WVW. We were there on an early May weekend and it was crowded. Eventually nabbed an empty table to sit and hear the band (excellent band!)...got food and hard cider at the outside grill...this was the most efficient way to beat the cafe lines inside. Also, the wine tasting bar was lined with a couple rows of tasters....so we passed on that treat. Only 1 ladies toilet and 1 men's room toilet...So the bathrooms had lines and the dirty men's room toilet was shared with courageous women. Parking is kind of a mess as we got parked in. But fortunately we found someone in a nearby car who moved giving us enough room to squeeze out of our dilemma.

Great Weekend Trip

By pumpkin_queen7816 |

Warwick has the best combination of wine and food. Seriously. I live in an area with at least five awesome pizza places and Warwick puts them all to shame. When you go there, get their pizza. It's made to order in a brick oven. Ask the person behind the counter for their recommendations and promise me you won't regret ordering.

Their cheese and fruit plate and the meat platter are amazing! They make their own bread and it's the best EVER! Don't get me started on their awesome cheeses. So good!!

Okay...on to the wines. Docs apple cider is a must. Go for the pumpkin. The extra cinnamon flavor is to die for.

If you're out for a wine, the harvest moon white has to be the best white blend I've ever had. But, the Black Dirt Red is equally as tasty.

If you go in the fall, be prepared for a mob scene. The apple picking is great, but the crowds are psychotic. Winters are so quiet and quaint with their fire place. But, if you go, any time just try to get there by 12 because they pack up quickly!

MEH...

By PNWfamily |

Too crowded - ciders - wines just ok wouldn’t have them outside the winery. Line up everything and some obnoxious people. Head to the finger lakes...

Very Nice winery in NY

By Jay I |

My cousins and I went to a very nice winery 30 mins west of Stony Point , NY. It was a very pleasant surprise since none of us had been there. The grounds are expansive. They have an outdoor bar with covered tables. Live music playing on weekends. Lots of picnicking areas. Also, a nice wine tasting bar inside of the main building. Wine tasting consisted of 3 wines, hard cider and a fruit liquor...all for $5 per person. The people were very nice and friendly. The bottle prices were very reasonable. They get their wine from the finger lakes...they do not grow any grapes on the property. This is a great place to hang out, picnic, wine taste on a beautiful day!

The Place is To Popular

By Goodguydoug |

We went up to the winery on Saturday the 20th and got there about 12:30 pm and boy the place was crowded and they were advising people coming in that there was no apple picking that day, thank god as the place was jumping. We did the wine tasting outside and it was very good but boy did you have to wait on a line to purchase the wine, but they did try to move it along. The line for food was out the door if you wanted a pizza and you waited for it. Outside you could get grilled food, and the line was very long there too. The pizza was very good along with the wine. Getting a table it was just luck as we were a party of six we didn't have to wait that long thank god. We stayed a few hours and listened to the music and decided to move on which was a good decision. Walking to the car, the parking area was full and cars were still coming in. I will be back, but it will be awhile, most likely when the weather gets cold, and hopefully it will not be so packed in like a zoo. There was a 5$ fee for parking.

Inviting and relaxing with delicious food!

By kathyyoko1624 |

Whether you're in the mood for a tasting, or a cozy warm fire, or fantastic food, a little music and a local Napa feel....it's right here in Warwick. Couples friendly, friends friendly, and family friendly too.
It's a special place and Jason and all the staff are always welcoming.

Great Place

By KNICKRD |

We visited in January, so really couldn't get the full vibe, but you can tell it must be great when it is warm. outdoor area set up for sitting outside. They also serve food, closed when we were there. Staff very pleasant and knowledgable, about wine and food. The wines are very good, as well as fruit liquors, and their Gin. Nice little shop with alot of products from them and others. really nice place to visit. Heard it does get really crowded, seems like the only game in town

Winery

By Sambelviso |

We went on a Sunday it was completely empty no cars what so ever... There was no sign to show you where to go it just looks like an abandoned house there it was 2 o'clock in the afternoon and the sign said they were open till six
We wasted our time and gas going there

stopped here after being disappointed at another winery....

By Kathy S |

very nice wines, friendly staff, lots of little gifts and accessories in addition to the wines, hard cider and liquors....definitely worth the trip....

Always a fun time

By maryellenmoffit |

Good music, outdoors atmosphere, good crowd. tastings include, bourbon, wines, ciders, along with hay ride and apple picking. Recommend the Watkins Glen revisited if you like the Dead, or Allmans. Also recommend Elissa Jones if you like to "fiddle around". most time parking is free to 5 dollars, with plenty of spaces.

Perfect day out

By Tyler L |

Wonderful winery. In the cold months, the inside is perfect with live music and food along with your wine samples. In the warm ones, the outside tables and lawn are phenomenal for a picnic. The wine is good, though on the lighter, sweeter side.

Good year round

By Jennifer_Lowes |

Always have a fun relaxing time! The food is great and the tasting is educational and their wines are delicious. Good for families or friends of all ages. Also, pet friendly.

So nice and also very crowded

By Ulrika L |

We went a Sunday lunch in October. It is such a nice place, beautiful and welcoming, but also very crowded. We will return on a weekday to try both the food and wine.

Beware

By jackatie |

This had the potential to be a nice place after we saw an advertisement for the " Cash is King" event. Upon arrival all was well until I went to order a dry Red and was told they were sold out of the two drys. I sampled the one available and they said the sangria was more popular with dry red drinkers. I sampled that and agreed it was better until I found out they wanted 45 for a bottle. I ended up with the first Red which was acceptable. Next was the food line. We waited painfully in late e for just over 1 hr. to get served. That's 20% of a 5 hr.event! People after us waited longer and I heard someone remark it was 1:25 for them as they returned to the show. I guess I am taken back with how they could be out if wine and no seamless system of food service at such a large event? I don't usually give negative reviews but the attention to detail is simply not here. At least it was t there yesterday.

Awesome!

By Nathan H |

A must see when in the City of Warwick. Plenty to do for everyone; parents, couples, kids, etc. Very well done. Note: The restaurant, which sells great sandwiches, salads and personal pizzas, is CASH Only (ATM onsite that charges $2.50 service charge). The area where you buy wine and ciders accepts Credit Cards and Debit Cards. Interesting.

Winery is such a great place to relax

By 15wonderwoman |

Love the Warwick Winery. The summer months are very busy and we must get there very early in the day to get a seat to enjoy lunch and Sangria... Winter months are great to when you want to get away for the day and listen to music indoors...Once we got there a little late in the morning and the lines for food and tasting were hours long so we left after parking the car...Now I know when and when not to get there after driving for 45 minutes... Just plan the day and enjoy...

Fun visit

By Kdean208 |

Visited the winery this past weekend as part of my friends birthday celebration. We had a great time. There were tons of people and live music which created a lively fun atmosphere. We did the trio wine tasting. Between all the samplings you almost didn’t need to buy additional drinks. We had food at the outdoor grill which was moderately priced & pretty good. The warm cider donuts were awesome! There were candy apples, but they seemed to be covered in bees whenever u looked ( I passed on those). A cover to keep the bees off would be nice. Everything required cash payment. They do have an atm but i would make sure u have plenty of cash in case you want to buy stuff without using their atm. If possible get there early so you can get a decent parking spot. We got there around 2:00 and had to park a crazy distance. It’s a long walk after eating lots of food & drinking wine & cider

Great Local Attraction

By Steve T |

We're from Long Island...the northeast Capital of Winery's... we've had some great regional wines and some that are so so. I'd be misleading everyone if I said that their wines could be included in the best 30 wines we have tried....that being said they are not the in the worst 30 either. But...what they have is something special. They've embraced the northeast hard cider beverages and have excelled in that aspect. That and social scene is enough to visit again and again. The facility is a continuous flow of people enjoying the great food, live music, and libations from a friendly, informative and helpful staff. There are plentiful areas to cop your own squat and enjoy the Surroundings. Go for the fun of it.

Dissatisfying Conditions Cafe Lament

By shoresongbird |

My husband (who has a limited variety of foods he can eat out without a food reaction of some kind)
and I made a trek for the first time to your cafe with the distinct impression you served pizza posted
on your menu via the website.

If we had known your establishment NEVER served it we'd have made a b-line elsewhere solely based on
what your menu didn't have but sloppily failed to eliminate from your site.
What gives? And why make a nice staff worker in your food court have to be the face of your responsibility?
Please explain why it's still there on your cafe's menu board and why your staff has to explain for you at the register
it's not served.
We didn't stay...won't be back.
Tripadvisor has a spot for your operational integrity status as sub-par...
Too bad.

WIne tasting

By rhodellp |

First off if you have sprint or T-Mobile while you have service make sure you map your route home, before you get there because your service will be sketchy the further in you go. It was beautiful, kids were playing everywhere there were ample clean johnie on the spots and you get to taste 5 wines for 5 dollars plus you get a glass can't beat that the house red blend was AMAZING it's called black dirt red.... did I say it was amazing, and reasonably priced under $15 bucks, they had a band and there were just so many ppl, cordial and it felt like you were in a wine drinkers nirvana, the space awesome the scenery awesome the wine awesome and our server Will you explained all the wines and grape varietals and where they actually come from
Awesome. Actually awesome sums up this experience I would give it 6 starts if that were an option I had a great time, and was very buzzed leaving 😔 actually didn't want to leave but it shuts down at 6 and starts at 11, they have a pizza parlor there too and other food, we got there to late for the pizza but look out for this guy WILL with their beard he was awesome.
FYI check out the gift shop that's where I got this Awesome hat lol

Wonderful events

By Charlesiv148 |

Beautiful setting, food is good, wine is excellent. Wheelchair users: some areas are paved, some areas have those annoying little gravel type rocks.....difficult to roll around....parking was tricky too.....but all in all it was a very pleasent experience.

Must See

By Ryan A |

Beautiful grounds, super friendly staff, good drinks. A must go to if your in the area. Try the Black Currant Cider and the Sour Cherry Cider.

We've been coming here for 10 years

By leelee m |

I love this place. I wish it wasn't so popular!!! We've been coming here since 2006 and it is becoming too crowded to enjoy.

Worth the visit

By Matt |

We stumbled upon this winery and distillery after leaving a nearby campground to explore. We sampled the spirits and they were very nice. The grounds were beautiful and the staff was outgoing. Worth the visit.

Great pizza! Ok wine.

By Crazywolf701 |

We went to Warwick Valley Winery on a rainy Sat. The place was packed. But only waited about 10
mins for a tasting. The wines were okay. The blush was far too sweet for me. I did like the black dirt red; very smooth. There was no after taste. Just a nice light red. The chorizo pizza was amazing. The crust was crunchy! The sauce was sweet, which perfectly complemented the spicy chorizo and pepperoncini.
The band was fun and very good. I highly recommend the entire experience. Make sure you get the pizza!!!

okay. The blush was way too sweet for me

SUPER Crowded - feels more like a musical festival than a winery

By Daa2138 |

We went over Colombus Day weekend and much to our dismay, waited for nearly an hour in the car to reach the parking area. Then paid $5 for parking (this time they didn't charge us $20 per person since the band wasn't as well-known apparently). We couldn't find a single spot to sit. People were all over the place (on the grass, gravel, you name it - some were even camped out near the porta potties) It was extremely crowded, definitely felt like being a music festival. We even had to wait in line to get wine which took another 40 minutes. So needless to say, we left and went to another winery in the area. Maybe it's better during the week

Best around

By Rob H |

We go a few times per year, it is always, always a great time! Great spirits, wines, ciders.. The food is also excellent. Great for family picnics, couples, dates.. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful

By Kelly L |

This was the first winery we visited and it sparked an unknown love for wine with my boyfriend and I! I love the black dirt blush. We come as often as we can, enjoy a bottle of wine (or two😉) and just hang out for a few hours. Only downside is dogs are not allowed here 😔we would love bring our boy with us to hang out as well, unfortunately for WVW, we go to a competitor in order to bring our pup instead of leaving him at home

My favorite Hudson Valley Winery

By Jodie PM |

It is so pretty here. The wine is good. The atmosphere is wonderful! You can't help but love it, but it does get kind of crowded on the weekends, so bring a blanket and sit in the grass.

Excellent wine, hard ciders, gin and applejack in a beautiful location

By lovetotravel560 |

This winery does everything. The Gewurztraminer and Riesling were delicious. The gin was very aromatic and tasty, as was the applejack and hard ciders. Wasn't too crazy about their bourbon. Beautiful location in the country with lots of tables to sit outside. The cafe to buy food is open on weekends but not when we visited on a Monday. The server for our tasting was informative and fun even after a long weekend and day of doing serving folks.

A great stop while in Sussex County

By hogguy1947 |

While passing through Sussex County for a couple of days we decided to stop at the Warwick Valley Winery. The people very friendly and Rachel our server was very helpful in coming up with ideas that we could use for our tastings. We each tried 6 wines either sweet or dry and our third member Amber try the ciders. The selection was good and the opportunities to come up with a good choice were great. The tasting prices are reasonable and you get the glass to bring home as a souvenir. We brought home a bottle of cider sangria and red wine. Can't beat it! We tried the pizza which was highly recommended as a lunch after the tasting and again the food was good! I'd highly recommend this is a casual stop as passing through the area is just North of the Sussex County area in New York state. You will not regret it!

Great place to spend a relaxing summer afternoon

By Rmcgarril |

My wife and I have been to the Warwick Winery a couple of times. It's a really nice place to do some wine tasting and have a nice meal. The thin crust pizza and the garlic fries are both great. The bar area, where the wine tasting takes place can get crowded from time to time. Just be patient. They also have music on the weekends, at least during the summer. A lot of people bring blankets and sit on the lawn while they enjoy the music, food and drinks.

Great Winery - BUT plan ahead!

By mpc1723 |

I've been to a few events here and they've all been great. The selection is very good and the service and knowledge is top notch. BUT if you want to get there for the music events leave very early! The last two events had traffic backed up for at least a mile. This is also worth a trip in the fall and winter for a cozy afternoon. Look forward to another trip!

By Shauna P |

I didn't know this is where Doc's cider was made! I have that at home! Such a small world, the staff was friendly and welcomed us to try everything. They had an awesome sour cherry cordial! Ask for a wine map.

Nice winery for the price

By lndia42 |

My daughter and I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon at this great winery. The surrounding views were filled with fall foliage and orchards. The grounds were very nice to throw a blanket anywhere and enjoy a bottle of wine. What is great is the $5 charge for 6 tastings in a wine glass! Not a medicine cup...lol like other wineries and you keep the glass. The food and music were good as well. This place is a very nice drive and a relaxing place to unwind....

Great Fun

By DayRay35 |

The cider here is amazing! The only downside is it gets crowded so go early. Its very family friendly.

Great Cider

By jess R |

This is a charming Winery with excellent ciders. The tasting was affordable and we each got a free glass. They have a variety of ciders, all worth a try. We especially enjoyed the Sour Cherry and the Raspberry, but the Cranberry is unique and interesting as well.

Great place even in this uncertain times

By Anna M |

We were really impressed on how this team approach such a difficult time and still were able to creat fun and exciting atmosphere!
All wine and cider sample as are prepared separately in single use containers, great food is available right there in the fridge. We came in on the day when no restaurant food was available, but fridge was full of all delicious goodness to accompany your testing. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great sitting arrangements! We bought a lot to take with us and still enjoying it at home!

Cool place

By GabyLI |

The place was really good, a nice selection of wines and food (pizza, cheese and cured platters). Crowded and loud but worth it. Live music as well.

The Warwick Valley Winery is a fabulous weekend escape!

By legzlie |

20 friends and our doggies spent a lovely Sunday afternoon enjoying this wonderful winery. They have cider, wines, sangria, excellent food and music all in one place. Take advantage of their wine tasting & amazing food.
The town of Warwick is filled with various things to do or you can just chill and watch the clouds roll by!

Nice Place to Visit

By Joel G |

Been here a couple of times. Unfortunately, they don't seem to want to address a chronic problem. The extremely long lines for food. They should do something about it. On a beautiful day in September where a band is playing and people come for apple picking, they have to know there will be large crowds. They have one ice cream truck in addition to the food. Long lines there as well. Why not invite outside food vendors so people can have a variety of food to choose from. Also, the grass should have been cut before a major event. Not good planning. Still, it's a very nice place to spend the day.

❤️Had return trip planned while still there!

By michele r |

My husband and I were looking for something to do on a nice day with our 9 month old son...and we love Warwick, so we headed out from Morris county to the Warwick Valley Winery. We loved the drive up and had a really great experience. Nikki assisted us with our wine tasting and she was awesome...VERY knowledgeable but not stuffy or in-your-face about it! She saw my son getting antsy and gave him a plastic cup to play with. Well, he played with that cup for hours and hours! She was great and really cared about our experience. That's rare!! Request her!!! Our fave was the HARVEST MOON wine! We had lunch outdoors and sat at a table in front of a cover band and truly had a blast. The food was deelish...and even the port-A-johns were clean!! Lol. Seriously! We loved it so much that on the way to the car we already made plans to return the following week (can't wait...in 4 days). This time, we are returning with friends (and more kids) to do wine tasting, as well as apple and pumpkin picking! They truly have it all here! Check it out and bring a blanket!! I was envious of those chilling out on a blanket soaking it all up. 😊🍷🍎

Great atmosphere, selection, and pricing

By Britt S |

One of the best wineries out there! They have wine, cider, and spirits available for tasting at reasonable prices. The bottles are reasonable too. There is a cafe on site with great food and live music. It’s a must visit!

Nice day trip

By zaly |

My family and I have been enjoying WW for about 7 years now and it had always been a trip we looked forward to. For the last 2 years it has turned into a bit of a nuisance. Everyone in the world now knows about this place and it is extremely crowded. There's a wait to park which now they charge you, wait about 1 hr on line to order food, 30 min to an hour to get your food. The experience has gone down hill. It's not their fault, what can they do if everyone has now decided to visit them? I would say expand your restaurant. Especially since outside food is not allowed. Their pizza salads and sandwiches are all really good. But the wait is insane. I only go during apple picking season so I don't know if it's less crowded during other times but visiting the month of Sept has become a nightmare. Their wine is really good. We always get the one called black dirt it their Pinot which are great. I love this place just wish it was less crowded.

Poorly Managed

By Stefanie M |

The atmosphere and space is great on a nice day, but I would not recommend coming if you plan on eating. We got on line to order food at 12:45, didn't get to order until 2:17, and then didn't receive our food until 5:00, and we only received it then because we found a manager and voiced our frustration. For a location that does not allowed outside food, this is unacceptable. We only ordered some sandwiches and fries, and they need to either have more staff or not allow so many guests. I will not be returning, and it’s a shame that they didn’t plan accordingly.

Mother’s Day Disappointment

By THorsfield |

Never again. Waited one hour in line to order food & waited 4 1/2 hours for our food to be ready. We asked for a refund at the 4 hr point. They said we will get it later. Hope so!! Only 4 portaJohn’s as well. Too many people & they weren’t ready. They should have had food trucks & more bathrooms. We spent the whole day in line. Not fun & very disappointed!!

Beautiful property. Fun products.

By Erik R |

A variety of wines, ciders, and cordials at the tasting. There was a tasting fee, but you got to keep the wine glass. Wines always taste great at the winery to me. We'll see when we try it at home. Fingers crossed.

Winery in Autumn

Great views and you can buy bottles instead of wine by the glass. Definitely recommend going in the fall for the foliage.

Very busy on the weekends

By yessie3000 |

Stopped by this winery while visiting the apple orchards in the area one Saturday.
This was the busiest winery that I have ever seen. When you arrive you are charged a $5.00 parking fee as you enter. There was plenty of parking but it was a long walk back because there were so many cars. I was able to taste their wines, cider and cordials which they charge a fee of $5.00. I didnt care much for any of the wines but the hard cider and cordials were pretty good. I also got to take home my wine tasting glass which was a plus.
They also have an apple orchard for picking but they had nothing left to pick. I wasn't able to do much else because it was soooo crowded. I wanted to purchase their pear cordial after the tasting but there were extremely long lines for everything. I personally didnt have the patience to stand in line so long.
The next time I visit the orchards I plan to start earlier in the fall and this is the spot Id come to and spend the day. There was live music, all types of food for sale and you were able to have a picnic as a long as you could find a spot to claim.

Nice way to spend a day

By CharlieConn92 |

The winery is nice way to spend a relaxing day with friends and family. If your in to apple picking this is a nice place to spend a Saturday at in the fall.

My happy place, but no longer a 5 star....

By slock0915 |

My husband, family, friends and I have been coming here for years. It truly is one of a kind between the delicious wines, ciders, and beautiful grounds. I have introduced many people to this winery. It saddens me that shortly before my husband and I rescued our first puppy, the winery decided to prohibit dogs from the grounds based upon (so we were told be an employee) a single incident of an aggressive dog encounter without a disgraceful owner who fled the scene. While I understand how liability is a big issue these days, so too should be the belief that one person's recklessness should not ruin the fun for everyone else. Wariwick and surrounding towns are highly dog populated so it saddens me that the winery has become non dog-friendly. Now instead of enjoying the day with our friendly, well-behaved leashed dog, we will have to leave him home which will greatly limit our frequency of coming to the winery as well as time spent there. It is just a shame and I would have thought differently of a winery such as this to change an entire (beloved and respected by so many) policy based around the poor actions of a single individual.

Way too crowded

By HE_Pennypacker99 |

The lines for food were ridiculously long. Instead I got a falafel from the falafel truck which was very good. The line for wine was also long, but we sucked it up and waited. The wine was very good, but had to sit on a rock while drinking it because there were absolutely no empty tables or chairs. We didn't stay that long due to the crowds, and as we were leaving the cars kept rolling in.

If you are willing to put up with very long lines, standing elbow to elbow with people, not being able to sit on a chair, peeing in a portajohn, your reward will be very good drinks and probably very good food too. If not, try some of the other wineries in Warwick that are not as mobbed.

Give this place a skip!

By Bill_Texas931 |

We travelled here from Texas to re-enact a photo from when our kids were babies. We walked toward the stables where the original photo was taken. The sign said that we should not feed or touch the horses (which, being sensible people, we had no intention of doing). As we approached a very surly woman yelled at us to stay away from the stables. We had a small dog on a leash with us and had the dog very far away from the stable on a leash. We had instructed one of our kids to stay back from
The stable. This woman (staff or owner) again yelled at us to pick up our dog because she had a dog that was off leash. (Who was the irresponsible party?) The dog ran towards us but was quite friendly (unlike the person). We said hello to her but she scowled at us and ignored us. We searched for any signs suggesting that we should not have a dog or that we should not have been near the stable or any other infraction but found none. Rather than spend our hard earned money there we moved on within ten minutes of arriving and will never return.

A humble suggestion: just be nice.

Cider, wine, spirits, food, music

A little bit of everything here. Lots of choices for tastings. Food was really good. Live music too. Worth a visit.

Local during Covid

By Edward |

My wife called just before 5pm to order food. Employee answered and told her to order on the app. While ordering on the app clock struck 5 and wouldn’t allow her to order anything else. I called and spoke to the manager and explained we were local and trying to support local businesses (during Covid) and asked if they could bend a little. She informed me that’s the system they have and proceeded to ask me what I did for a living. At that point I realized the conversation was going nowhere. Although they have good and a good atmosphere my family will not patronize this establishment again.

Nice spot

By RaspberryMojito |

We stopped by on Valentine's Day and it was packed! We weren't charged for parking, wouldn't have paid it as you park in a field. Enjoyed the tasting, however the Black Dirt red, their best seller was my least favorite. It's claim to fame is aging in stainless steel, not oak, it needs the oak. The music was nice, the food was very good. Overall we enjoyed the day but it doesn't hold a candle to my Long Island wineries, sorry, I'm spoiled by some of the best.

Very Good

By amattam209 |

Went here with the family on 7/16. The winery is a bit off the beaten path but worth the trip. The day we went they had a band playing on the outside patio area. The food was pretty good. As for the wine tasting the girl behind the bar was very knowledge about all of the different wines and liquor they sell. We were able to sample many different things. Great place, nice atmosphere. Oh did I mention they provide free ice, cups and plates! Highly recommended.

A little something for everyone

By MegsT495 |

Spent the afternoon listening to music and having some wine and cider. Great place to go to spend some time with friends. Bring your own food and set up some chairs or order something at the cafe or the food stands. Prices are good too! Definitely a place to return to!

Great fun, good wine, friendly staff, and now apple picking!

By doxi-mom |

Spent the afternoon there yesterday with the whole family, enjoyed a wine tasting. Starting today they will have apple picking. What's not to love. Even my puppy enjoyed his visit to the Warwick Valley Winery.

An absolute must!

By Master Chief |

Whether you are into wine or not they have all kinds of other drinks including gin, bourbon, cider etc. The food is fantastic the atmosphere is amazing the people are nice and the entertainment is always good. My friends and family love coming here. Definitely come here it’s worth the trip!

Nice winery

By Jake23 |

We enjoyed Warwick Valley Winery. We went during the Shawangunk Wine Trail Xmas festival and the place was packed. Wine tasting was fun and we enjoyed the various wines. Food was good and they had live music, which was pretty good also. It was pretty cold so we did not get to see all the grounds, but will go back and explore more this spring. Worth a trip. Had a great time.

5K through the orchard

By Rita K |

We went here for a 5K through their orchard, a Hard Cider 5K. Their cider is very good, beautiful grounds and tasting room. Live music added to the atmosphere nicely. There was a kitchen which, although I didn't have it, put out some nice looking food and a high class menu

A gem at the end of the road!

By lynnieb338 |

We visited this winery at close to closing (it was 5PM, they close at 6), on a rainy Saturday. There was live music on the covered patio outside the tasting/sales room. The patio located up a small flight of steps was almost deserted, because it offers only patio umbrellas for cover. (There was one hardy group finishing their meal, even in the heavy rain.) Although the tasting room was packed with people who had moved in to avoid the rain, it was bright, cheerful and everyone seemed friendly. Our party of 4 was waited on for our tasting immediately, and it was great!! They offer 5 tastings in a set order, so if you are looking for a place to pick and choose, this is not for you. The wines ranged from a white to reds, to a hard cider to a sweet desert wine. Every single wine we tasted was nice, and we did end up buying a few of them. The woman helping us was running between several groups, but still took the time to tell us about each offering, and what would pair nicely with it. She also allowed us time to sip the wine at a bit slower pace than some other wineries I have been to, which allowed you to really decide which wine you liked best.
Although the heavy rain made it difficult to take in the structure or the setting, I am sure from the little I saw that it would be gorgeous on a nice day. I will have to make sure to go back and confirm this impression!

Fantastic food,Great ambiance, enjoy the wine.

By Vatche |

This winery is a great place to spend a weekend afternoon.
First, let me tell you about the food.
The food here is phenomenal. I like their goat cheese pizza. Nmerous other salads and sandwiches that are phenomenal.
Plenty outdoor space to sit down and soak the Sun or just sit at a table under the umbrella end enjoy the band on weekends or the cool breeze on a sunday afternoon.
The wines are Okay, my favorite is the Chardonay. If you you like sweeter wines they have a great variety of it all cooled to be purchased by the bottle.
If you are not sure what to pick take the wine tasting and decide on your own.
I personally prefer the few dryer varieties.
When you are going to this winery, bring with you folding chairs or better a big blanket. sometimes they run out of seating space. Also come with cash. sometimes the ATM does not work.
I'm sure you will like the setting of this winery. I know I like their food.
By the way, do not bring your own food or wine with you. It is not allowed.
Plenty of parking available.
The fall season they offer rides on a tractor trailer.

Great day at the winery, only problem here is the porta potties are disgusting , if serving beverages and food hire a cleaning staff to clean a couple a times a day with the amount of people that visit your establishment!

So so

By SirOliver08 |

As soon as you drive in you are charged $5.00 to park and are greeted by several rows of port a johns. The gravel roads are very poorly maintained and the tables and chairs are located close to the main road. The wine tasting was reasonably priced at $5.00 and you could keep the glass. The food looked good and the staff friendly.

Nice Winery!

This winery is in the middle of nowhere if you are coming from out of town. The hosts were very knowledgable and the wine was great. We had a good time here.

I worked at this establishment.
THEY are dishonest when they say "will train with little experience", you can be sure little salary, and if your not fast enough, forget it, your out of there. Temporary position. The're click is pretty tight, because they work year round, naturally little support once they let you go, no matter how hard you work.
Anyway just preparing you for the pig
kill. In other words alot of show-offs, no concern for you, even if they give you work until the end of apple picking, then they let you go by telling you they cant afford you anymore.
Funny god get those who are dishonest
moral of the story, no pun intended.

Very Crowded, Limited Food Options

By Carolyn W |

This was my first trip here, but I will never come back. They say their busiest weekends are in mid-late September, but this past weekend they were absolutely packed, during COVID. They must do this because they charge $5 per car. I have not seen this many people in one place since the start of covid. My family was luckily able to find a spot far away from people, basically in the parking lot. We waited in line for 30 mins for some cider and wine flights (which were great!) and they did not have any food available at this stand, which was also cash only. There were many signs around about ordering online, but the online ordering system was so backed up that we had to wait 2.5+ hours to get our food.

You can’t let all these people in if you have no way to feed them, last I checked all bars are closed still from covid. At least let people bring outside food...

Very popular spot for a tasting

Have been a few times, it can get extremely busy there. Overall a nice spot if its not overly packed. Can just hang out, have a drink and picnic and relax.

A little bit of Italy or Paris in Warwick

By rozee8 |

This is a wonderful place to go especially in the spring and summer months. The food and pastries are really good and the atmosphere outside is like being at an Italian vineyard without the grape trees. I am not crazy about all the wines, but I am sure they have one that suits every visitors' tastes. Food is not always available for purchase but I do not know the hours they open.

Always a treat

By Tom D |

Annually each Fall we go to the Warwick area for farm stand shopping & lunch at the Cafe at Warwick Valley Winery. We enjoyed a bottle of Chardonnay, a Sopressata Pizza & combined cheese/meats platter - all delicious. Eating outdoors on their upper patio in the not-to-warm weather of the day was great. We’ll be back soon!

By Peter s |

I have been to the winery and orchard several times over the last 6 years with my wife and this year we visited for the first time with our newborn daughter. We knew ahead of time that they were out of apples. Sounds crazy but we love the doc's hard cider and the atmosphere so we went anyway. Big mistake on Columbus weekend. The place was packed and with no one in the orchards even more so. We had picked up sandwiches ahead of time and good thing. There was an hour wait for food. Picked up some cider and ate on a blanket which was what we came for. The cider was great and we will definitely be back...just not on a holiday weekend.

What You Imagine When You Imagine Upstate New York

By AlH |

This is a great place in spring, summer, and fall. The rolling hills and vistas are very scenic and the atmosphere is usually very fun and laid back. The hard ciders and liqueurs as well as the wines are very good. I love the hopped hard cider, but their general selection of ciders is very good. Wine tastings are affordable and the food is good (love the Margherita pizza). You can walk around and catch the roosters and partridges near the henhouses- but don't venture to try to catch them, they are too quick. There is an apple orchard up the hill where they do 'mud runs' occasionally. They also have an herb and vegetable garden, and I suspect you will smell another type of herb here occcasionally. The atmosphere is definitely fun and friendly and many people come in larger groups. There are patio tables outside for food (although they state you should not bring outside food or drinks). The only drawback to the whole enterprise, for me, is that you have to use the outside Port-o-Potties when you need to 'go'. There are like 10 of them but, understandably, they can get funky. Otherwise, if you like nature and you want to experience upstate New York at its best (and frankly it is hard to find a really bad part of this area regardless), this is definitely one place to visit. Enjoy the scenic ride in also.

low class

By Vinny F |

I went with my wife Saturday September 5th. 5 dollars for parking. What a joke. They're not making enough from sales? The indoor bathrooms were blocked off and everyone was forced to use the hot stinking port a johns. I'm a construction worker and only use them as a last resort. No class. The area where you buy pizza and sandwiches was 120 degrees. People were dripping with sweat and complaining. Demerest winery is just down the road and much better

Popular for locals and visitors

By Sandra W |

The winery was quite busy for Applefest weekend. Beautiful grounds for lunch on the lawn. Good fresh food. You have to go at least once.

Nice winery

By NjYankeefan |

Had a great time at the winery. Went on a weekday and it was busy but not crowded at all. Got to taste some very good wines and ciders. Make sure you try the Riesling and the Sour Cherry Cider(seasonal) as I thought they were the best offerings. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I'm not a gin drinker but I tried it and was surprised at how smooth and flavorful it was.

Great for Apple Picking

By tu-anhLOVE |

It was a beautiful day picking apples with my Mother, sister, and her beautiful little children. The apples were still so delicious and crisp even though we came towards the end of the season. Definitely not kid friendly, but the children still enjoyed themselves. I would come back next year. The town is small and quaint. The drive was pretty and only about an hour from
Montclair, New Jersey💕

Great day

By Craig W |

Went here for the day on Saturday with a large group of friends and had a very enjoyable day. Lots of wines and ciders to choose from as well as plenty of delicious food. We brought some blankets and relaxed on the lawn all day. There were a lot of people and live music so it had a fair atmosphere which added to the experience but might not be for everyone.

Fun and Friendly

Very nice place to relax on a Saturday afternoon. The food and spirits were excellent along with the live band.Get there early because it fills up quickly especially if the weather is nice.

Fall Fun for Everyone!

By ml849567 |

This is one of my favorite places to visit in fall. I made the annual trek with friends this year and wasn't disappointed. Despite the poor harvest, Warwick did have apple picking (although they jokingly called it 'apple hunting, as you really had to hunt for apples left on the trees!). We managed to get a full bag of apples and stayed for lunch and, of course, cider. Everything was in full swing, as always, but the staff is super pleasant and friendly. Everyone brought blankets and picnics and enjoyed the band on a sunny afternoon. We all had a wonderful time and will be back next year!

Great picnic place

By RobW007 |

The Warwick Valley Winery does it right. Great wine, delicious food and live entertainment. A great destination, spend the day lounging on the lawn.

Nice day in the country !!!!

By Lisa J |

Get here early, if you don't like long lines for the food !!!! Food was quite good, but waited on a long line. What a beautiful winery close to NY City and the northern Bergen County area. . There are a few tables and chairs, but there is also a field where you can sit with your own chairs or blankets. The "tasting tent" gets very crowded and there is no flow at all. Everyone just piles in and tries to get close to a tasting table. We went with our adult children and found is most pleasurable, entertainment was a plus on a Saturday afternoon. We found several of their wines to be exactly what we were looking for.

Warwick Visit and winery visit

By Berly A |

The place does NOT accept credit cards ONLY cash, although the window outside says cards accepted! Salad is delicious, chicken and pizza not worth it! Wine tasting is a plus! Too bad we couldn’t take the tour it was too cold

Always good time

By cindym82 |

Haven't been here in a few years so while in the area decided to stop in. Always good service at the tastings with good pours and nice staff. The food, wines, ciders and liquor are all good. Always have live music on the weekends to enjoy while sitting outside. Bring a blanket or a chair and enjoy the day in the sun and you won't regret it. Can't wait to come back.

Line after Line

By MikesMom01 |

We visited on September 27th. I like the concept live music, apple picking, food, wine & cider. The problem was, we waited an hour on line for burgers that were mediocre at best. Then a separate line for cider & wine that took about 30 minutes. NOTE: Food & drinks could not be purchased on the same line. It was hard to find good apples, the orchard was totally picked over. We kept apologizing to the kids. Way to crowded to enjoy.

Over crowded spot in the middle of a residential neighborhood

By Ted |

Way over crowded with line of cars stretching a half mile just to get in on narrow roads in a residential area. I'm sure the locals don't appreciate it based on the number of drive slowly signs on the street.
Once there, nobody was following protocol for the COVID era. Handing out flyers does not absolve an establishment of responsibility. There should be a limit on numbers and some policing of patrons by staff. Given the amount of outdoor space available, this should be simple enough but they do not seem to care.
We came, saw, felt very uncomfortable, and left.

Beautiful location

By Anita O |

We had the wood-fired shaved-garlic pizza and walnut Gorgonzola salad. Very nice portions and delicious! Very fresh! Had to take pizza home! Table wine was adequate. Sangria was delicious-not too sweet. Sat outside in courtyard near the outside food and bar. Quite busy since it's summer, but still very relaxing. Live music.

Superb wine & cider tastings, great cafe food

By Tom D |

Visited on Friday, October 3 in great sunny weather. Tasting is $5 for 5 wines and 1 after dinner licqour plus you get to keep the glass. Wonderful vartieals. After the tasting we purchased a bottle of Chardonnay & ordered the Fruit & Cheese + Cured Meats + Parmesean Fries - a fantastic luncheon sitting outside. Highly recommend this winery.

Visited the winery over the weekend and had a great time. Checked out the wines in the tasting room , the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. We purchased a bottle to share at a table in the open air dining room. We also ordered a cheese platter and a margarita pizza. Both were of high quality and delicious. Great place to relax.

Great food

By ElainaNewYork |

Warwick valley winery boasts a great little eatery where the coal fired pizza is divine. Limited winter hours, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A must for pizza lovers...really you cannot stop eating! Salads and yummy sandwiches also. Cafeteria type seating , a couple of cozy fireplaces, you can purchase their wine on site from the shop/tasting room next door.

Amazing local winery!

By Kelly K |

This play is our favorite! The atmosphere is incredible - the outdoor seating is so scenic an the indoor seating is cozy and fun with the band playing. The food is delicious, you have to try the salad and truffle fries. It can get VERY crowded so get there early for a good seat or bring a blanket/chairs and sit on the lawn.

Warwick winery

By Kathy S |

This is a great place. Have been there twice on a Sunday afternoon. Crowd is very diverse and all different generations come together to enjoy wine food and music.
Can't say enough good things. Tastings are great and we have left with several bottles of wine. Love their port wine. Staff is friendly and helpful. I Highly recommend this place.

Great Afternoon at Warwick Winery

By David-Vickie |

We took family and friends here yesterday afternoon and had a great time. Place was unbelievably crowded but still found a place to sit and listen to the band while enjoying a few bottles of wine. 4 Gun Ridge played and they were great. We stayed for a few hours and will go back again. Parking was crazy and we had to go way into the property to park but they had tractors pulling carts with benches back and forth all day from the winery to the cars. Really great. Large tasting tent set up and nice outdoor bar. Kegs on golf carts and cafe will pizza and assorted other items. There is apple picking for those that are interested. I will warn Porta Potties were in many areas all from the parking lots to the winery so be prepared as that is it for the day.

Good if you like wine and music

Has good live music on weekends, and wine tastings are fun, too.
5x a year there are multi-day weekends of themed music fests,
Dylanfest, Grateful dead, etc.
Lots of fun !
Apple picking in the wall.
Very pretty setting !

Great Afternoon listening to live music!

By haveart |

Great Afternoon at the winery listening to live music! Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery is located in Hudson Valley and spans over 120 acres. It was located near our Airbnb, so we decided to check it out. It was the perfect spot to spend an afternoon! We had hoped to do a tour, but they were not available during our visit. Check it out if you are in the area!

Beautiful winery!

By Rachel R |

This is a beautiful place to visit! They have lots of outdoor seating and you can walk up by the orchards. They make delicious apple ciders!

Eh.

By bigshark1207 |

I have been to other wineries MUCH more personal then this. It was terribly crowded, very impersonal, a little confusing. We waited and waited at an empty spot, mind you, and never got any assistance. Finally we asked how to get waited on. A patron suggested we ‘ just elbow our way in’ thats how crowded it was. There was vomit (over drinkers) not cleaned up. They did have a good whiskey my daughter liked. But WAY to many people for us to enjoy the experience. It was just one big bar.

By LongBeachCoupe |

Bring some chairs and a blanket and you will thank me! Great place to chill and has live music most weekends.. Seating goes fast so bring your own!
Awesome place!

Great fall fun

Went for a day trip with some friends (4 car loads). We apple picked and brought food and cheese and crackers and had a picnic with the cider and wine from the winery. It was such a great day for kids and adults.

Tasty treat

By Michele P |

The afternoon we visited was a little chilly and very crowded! Tasting area was set up in a tent off the patio which worked nicely but was very busy. Our server was Will who did a great job answering our questions despite handling multiple serving parties at once. He did a good job of managing multiple groups while allowing people to enjoy the tasting at their own pace. Nice selection of wines as well as a choice of spirits for an additional small fee. There was an outdoor patio where you can enjoy food and a drink or two...there was another tented patio with live music playing. Inside you could purchase wine, spirits and other products. There was a bar where you could purchase by the bottle or glass as well as a food area selling pizza and other light fare. We enjoyed a cheese platter and bottle of wine. There was an indoor seating area which was full so we sat outside to enjoy our refreshments. Good thing we were dressed for the weather! Will definitely go back in the spring when it warms up a bit!

A wonderful experience!

By lovetoread4 |

I have been to this winery a couple of times and always enjoy it! The wine is good but the pizza is very good! Outdoor seating makes this a fun time with friends, even in the winter! Live Music is usually an added feature that we've enjoyed!

A great Escape from the city

By David T |

This was a great escape from the city for fresh air, beautiful scenery, and a bit of small town USA, just an hour and half from the city. We visited for the tasting and was pleasantly surprised with quality of wines and ciders, and bought almost a bottle of everything I tasted. Barbara the lady who explained all the wines was very knowledgable and made it a super fun experience. It was a weekday and their snack bar was closed. Luckily, we brought a small picnic to accompany the wines we bought and enjoyed it in their outdoor terrace.
All in all I definitely recommend it and would try to return again.

Want a fun time? Come here.

By Richard P |

It was a rainy day and the activities we had planned to do on Greenwood Lake were canceled. So what is one to do? It was suggested we drive out to the Warwick Valley Winery. They feature a wine tasting bar, wine shop, and a restaurant. Five dollars will get you six samplings of wine and the glass. Each sample was explained to us, and each one had its' own unique taste. We had so much fun we stayed for lunch and, of course, bought a bottle of wine to go with our food. You gotta' go here. It's just one fun place.
