I always take our guests for a half or full day of Trout fishing on the White River. Usually they catch their limit within 2-3 hours depending on the river conditions and weather. I find the best place to fish is near Shipp's Ferry which is about 5 miles up river of the Shied Bridge in Norfork, AR. The 2nd best place to fish is anywhere near where the White & North Fork merge in Norfork. If you want to do some fun catch & release of really large trout, there are areas on the North Fork for that. Dry Run creek near the Norfork Dam is great for children and handicapped persons. Roses Trout Dock can help you with cabins or check on Trip Advisor for places to stay.
After a great day of fishing, we like to have a fish fry of fresh trout and sides-a shore lunch. Nothing is better that fresh caught fish.
You can also buy licences at the Y Store in Salesville or many places in Norfork, Ar.
You may also want to visit the Fish Hatchery near the Norfork Dam-very interesting and a great place for children to enjoy.
There is a lift available near the Roses Trout dock at the public boat ramp for handicapped persons so they can have access to a boat.

We have been to White Buffalo Resort, two times this year and each time gets better. The fishing really does get better each time we go. We easily catch our limit and besides the fishing being so good, it is our favorite place to go. The resort is so beautiful and it is so relaxing there & the owners are wonderful people. They go out of their way to please everyone. The scenery is breath taking & its away from the hustle & bustle of this busy world we all live in. You have to go there to really appreciate the beauty of this resort. We will be going back there many times this year yet. And I can't wait.

Very disappointed due to bad management. This dude was worse than a woman undergoing menopause. First time I've had to comment on bad managemental issues. Place is fabulous if it wasn't for idiot running the place. No people skills at all.

Spent the weekend on spiritual retreat; cabins were beautifully decorated with fireplace and wood finish, fishing/hunting theme, modern, clean, and roomy; gorgeous views from a big covered deck with porch swing and Adirondack chairs. Delightful owners ~ as the office sign reads : check in as guests; leave as friends. Great selection in the gift shop, canoe and water sports rentals, fishing supplies ~ lovely meeting space and camping areas. ... no cell service area, which makes it a peaceful quiet getaway, but not far from Mountain Home for Internet, restaurants and shopping. Wonderful experience and highly recommended!

Spent the weekend on the White river in buffalo city, outside of mountain home. We rented a "camper cabin" at the White buffalo resort, "where the buffalo river meets the white river", beautiful place! They have RV sites, tent sites, full size cabins and the camper cabins that we stayed in. They were a 1 rm cabin that sleeps 6 people, we rented 2 for our group of 10. Facilites were clean. We rented a jon boat right there on site and fished. The water stays around 52 degrees so you get cool breezes and they were welcomed in the 100 degree temp. Last visit more generators were running at the damn so the river was really moving fast this time only 1 was running so the river was lower and slower, people were actually swimming. Putting a leg in was good enough for me it felt like ice water, but the water is clear & you can SEE the fish! This was our 2nd trip and we will be back. Mountain home is about 20 miles away. Awesome place, Love it!!!

The White River meets the Buffalo River. You can stand literally in the middle of both rivers. This resort is so clean and well managed. We had a serene, peaceful visit. Perfect for kayakers. Gorgeous clear water.
