My teenage daughter and I had sooooo much fun riding through and feeding the animals! What fun! We drove through in our Vehicle and other than animal slobber, all went well! The animals looked good and were so much fun! They appeared healthy and happy!! Brought back great Memories from previous visits! Staff were great! Will definitely return!!

what a great experience. We Loved everything about it. Would highly recommend going. They have a wide range of animals that you normally wouldn't see living together in open fields. The bus tour was really good and the animals come t=right up to the bus to eat out of your hands.

This is one of the best experiences you will ever have. You get up close and personal with amazing animals and get to be in their territory while you have the time of your life! PS: make sure to get a slobber towel!

What a great time!!! It is a must stop!!! We drove our own car but next will probaby get one of theirs as the animals did jump on our car. Get lots of food to the animals. The kids laughed and laughed and so did we. Awesome !!!

This was a blast! The animals came right up to our window! I recommend you get more than one cup of food.

By Trysten W |

We had fun. Rented one of their vans. Was totally worth the whole experience. Not a big variety of animals. After awhile we were bored with the same animals over and over. But overall we had fun. Need some signs from the freeway.

This was amazing!! Everything about it was just awesome!!! Can’t wait to go back again!!! Our family really enjoyed ourselves!

we rented a van and drove through and it was wonderful. I recommend you do not drive your own vehicle. It is a wonderful family event.

We visited the wild animal safari park. The walkabout seems old and the animals seem bored in small cages. A couple of the babboons looked like they had an infection. It was sad to see these "social animals" in cages by themselves. However, I certainly don't know if there was a reason the animal was by itself. The bus tour was great, and the driver really made it fun, attracting animals to the bus so we could feed them. He gave great information about the different animals and answered questions. I'd recommend going on the bus. You can drive your own car or rent one of their vans. Don't forget to buy some food to feed the animals with. Be prepared for giraffe slobber!

First, Do not drive Your Car ! Rent a Safari Van ! The Animals not only come up to Your Van, Some of Them will try to climb up to get the Food. We had some Animals Kick the side of the Van to get Our attention because We were Feeding some Animals on the other side of the Van. Don't worry if You think that You will not see any Animals. When You pull up to the gate, They will be waiting for You. It is a 3.5 Mile drive and the Deer, Bison, Goats, Pigs, Giraffe's , and many others are everywhere. Too many to mention. As Clark Griswald says " We're going to have so much fun,
You'll need Plastic Surgery to remove the Smiles from Your faces. " After Your Safari,
there is a Walkabout with Goats, Tigers, etc. You can do the Walkabout before or after Your Safari. My advice is to arrive early around 10 am or so. They open at 10 AM and Their Closing time varies by the time of the Year. As soon as You leave the whole Family will be talking about going back again. Make this a Must Stop !!! P.S. Bring some Wet Ones Wipes for the Safari.

Amazing experience! Next time we will buy the food to feed the animals. Worth every penny. We rented one of their vans. That is definitely the way to go. Gracious staff!!!! Thank you!!!!

Last time we messed up in multiple ways that we corrected this time:
1. We went on a summer Saturday
2. We left our house north of Atlanta mid-morning and arrived after lunch
3. We rode the zebra bus

This time we stayed the night in LaGrange, visited on a Tuesday in February when the zebra buses weren’t running, and arrived just after 10 a.m. to rent a van. I hated to shell out the extra money, but there were better discounts this time of year for admission, the animals were HUNGRY and not too hot on this warm spring-like morning, and we didn’t have to compete with hoards of people chucking food out the window onto the ground so that the animals could avoid getting up close and personal.

My son got slobbered by the giraffe, which he didn’t like, but that was pretty much the highlight for me!

A few notes:

Unless you own a beater that you do not care about, do NOT drive your own car. We were head-butted many times beneath our windows by animals irritated that we didn’t have any food left to give them. Plus, without the bars on the windows, the animals can stick their great big heads, stinky mouths, slobbery tongues and ANTLERS or LONGHORNS inside your car.

The rental vans are kinda gross, so don’t wear your best clothes and maybe bring a change. It had rained the night before, and since there are no windows in the vans, some of the seats were wet. I went back to the car to get towels out, which we had from visiting the indoor pool at Baymont Inn the night before. They also sell plastic rain ponchos, which you can use to put down on the seats. There was one left on my passenger seat, which had collected quite a bit of rainwater and had a partially dissolved food pellet or two melting in it.

BYO hand sanitizer. They sell tiny bottles for 2.99.

Charge your phone! They photo/video opps are priceless and there was no charging port in the zebra van.

Don’t skimp on purchasing the food, especially if you aren’t visiting on crowded peak days. I didn’t think my 3 yo daughter would do it because she’d be too scared, so we bought 2 souvenir cups and it wasn’t enough. She warmed up to the idea when the smaller deer and antelope started visiting, and we ran out about 1/2 way around the safari drive. I started looking under the seats and hung over the way-back seats in the van to scrounge up a few more pellets. My husband said they should really figure out a way to install vending boxes either inside the vans or in drive-up machines that we can access from the vans inside the safari drive.

The walkabout zoo is worth doing but not that great in terms of size, variety of animals or availability of opportunities to interact with them. Most are in pretty traditional barred enclosures. We loved the baby giraffe, who was behind glass. We were there for feeding time for the capuchin, spider monkeys and baboon, so that was kind of interesting to watch them pick through their buckets until they found a tasty bit of apple and nice heart of romaine on which to chow.

The drive through animal experience was stupendous. The animals walked up to our car to get you to feed them. I have never been so close to bison, zebras, ostriches and others. We arrived about 11:am and got right in. An early arrival time helps to ensure you can get in. The parking lot is not that big. Check out some of the negative reviews to see what can happen if you come too late in the day esp during the busy season. We bought 2 $5.25 bags of pellets to feed the animals. My grandchildren really enjoyed it. Great fun for adults too. These animals had alot of space to roam.

Now for the not so good--the zoo part was too small for alot of the zoo animals, and some of them were exhibiting stress with pacing back and forth. These days we know cramped quarters are not good for animals from the wild. That is the only reason I didnt give a 5 star rating.

Drove from Atlanta with two daughters and two granddaughters. Made the good decision to invest $20 to rent a van. No, it was not air conditioned but the grills on the windows prevented the animals from getting their heads too far into the vehicle. A big sheep/goat put his hooves onto the door sill which could have damaged a car. We had six bags of food which worked out perfectly. It was a lot of fun placing the food into the mouths of buffalo, deer, sheep, goats, and Texas longhorns. I was amazed at the large number of species as well as the large number of them. It was a great day. Will be doing it again for sure.

We had the best time here today. We weren’t sure what to expect and although it is pricey for a family of five -I feel like it was worth it. Our tour was amazing (we opted for the bus after reading reviews about your car getting scratched up by animals lol) our guide , Letissa, and she was a fantastic! Our tour lasted over an hour and the kids got to see touch and feed by hand so many animals! And then the walks out was more fun with bears, tigers and monkeys etc. get a sno cone!

Visted while camping at FDR over spring break. We bought tickets online and saved a few dollars then rented a van at the park. The interaction with the animals is awesome so be sure to buy plenty of food. I would never drive my personal car through as the animals were climbing on the van as we went through. We also really enjoyed the walk through part after our drive through. My only suggestion to management would be to CLEAN the restrooms.... no one wants to go wash their hands in a restroom that smells like it hasn't been cleaned or mopped in years..😷

3 adults and 3 yr old - we all enjoyed it. The walk through portion was perfect for our little one. We were surprised at the diversity of the animals to see. The baby giraffe (Feb 2019) was so sweet. 3 yr old fed goats, sheep, etc. and loved it. The drive through: we drove our own car - I think I would rent one of theirs next time although they are pretty gross. If you can take some towels and hand wipes with you. Going through the gate with the huge herd of buffalo, etc. was a little overwhelming at first and we went through a lot of food just to move through the crowd of animals. Once on the drive it thinned a little, then all of a sudden a large number of animals would be around. It was delightful. We had 4 bags of food and were half way through it when we saw the 1/4 way mark on the trail so we had to scale back on the food. Definitely be sure you have some to get the herd at the gate to move when you try to leave. Restrooms were fine - did not eat food in restaurant. Nice staff. So many baby animals it seems they are well cared for. $2 off per military ID was appreciated. You can go on their bus - disappointed in the summer kid program groups ahead of us who left their plastic cups all through the park

I just took my kids to the drive-thru park and we had an AMAZING time! 😍 The animals are so gentle and interactive - they literally come right up to your vehicle to be hand-fed. We loved seeing the kids' faces light up! We rented one of the park's vans and it was totally worth it- didn't have to worry about our car getting a scratch. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for a fun, affordable and unique experience!

Fun place to rent their safari vans to drive through the park. I can't imagine not spending the money to rent their vehicles for the trip. Cheaper than cleaning and buffing out the scratches and animal drool left behind. Wear old clothes too. Not very clean in the rental vehicle.
Buy a bag of animal food too. That's the fun of the trip. To see the animals in the window begging for more food.
Buffalo, deer, long horns, pigs, giraffes, camels, emus, ostriches, turtles, zebras and more along this route all hungry to be fed.
There is a small walking zoo as well to see the animals. We were there about 4 pm so the animals were not that active. The goats and sheep were beckoning food though.
Beautiful peacocks strutting around too.
Fun family excursion.

We had a great time driving thru this safari. I was a little worried about not seeing a lot of animals but they sell food to feed them and the animals are ready for their treats. I would advise you that if you have a nice vehicle you might want to rent one of their vans to drive. The animals get very close, even putting their heads in the car windows. Many have antlers and the buffalo actually moved my side mirror. We had a blast though. Even my 15-year-old emo daughter loved it. I haven't heard her laugh like that in a long time. I did a lot of laughing myself.

We visited Wild Animal Safari on a school field trip. We had the entire kindergarten class with us - which was about 140 kids + teachers/parents. The plan was where half of the kindergarteners would do the walk through - while the other half did the drive through and then swap while also doing lunch in between. This did not take place - before we could even get done with the walk through we were told we had to rush to the buses to load for the drive through. Mind you - our kindergarteners have lunch around 11:20 it was now 12:30 and they still have not eaten. The drive through takes about an hour+ = but while waiting to take off - we are then told we have to squeeze in so ALL 140 kids could loaded the buses - which meant - no teachers and only some parents. The most unorganized field trip I've ever been on. There was not enough staff to accommodate our group. They were not the friendliest either as there was lack of communication amongst themselves. If we ever come again it 100% would not be on a field trip and I highly doubt our school ever comes either.

Hubby and I went here the next day after visiting the Fantasy Lights at Callaway Gardens. This was the best fun for animal lovers. Take my advice and rent one of their vehicles. We had animals sticking their heads and legs inside the van, etc. I would have been screaming if I'd been in my car. We bought two bags of pellet food and that wasn't enough. We could have bought the family pack and probably still run out. The antelope-like animals are everywhere and come running when they hear the vehicles. The large pellet food makes it really easy to hand feed most of the animals; there are a few they don't want you to feed by hand. Loved feeding the alpacas, buffalo, and some others I don't know the names of. Yes, the vans are not very clean, but who wears nice clothes to feed wild animals? We had a wonderful time and already talking about going again next year.

The Walkabout area has a wide variety of animals with some that you can feed from coin operated feed machines. We felt sorry for some as they ran or paced around their cages...we felt they needed more space. There's an old black bear that looked really sad.

We arrived ten minutes before they opened. We were told a tree was down and they were removing it. We were told to walk around the other area that we could see animals…we came back 45 mins later and much to our dismay, we were two and a half hours waiting on a van to use to ride through the park….a 2.5 hr wait when we arrived before they opened!
They had put us on a wait list while we walked around and not allowed us to get on the list when we arrived.. it was awful, the kids were exhausted…I could have sat down and cried in the crowd..don’t bother going on a weekend…the kids that work there are super unorganized…

We loved our visit to the safari
We loved seeing and feeding the animals

I can’t wait to go back with my nieces and nephews
Awesome experience , loved it

My husband and I came here on a recent trip to Pine Mountain and we loved it!They have a large assortment of exotic animals you won’t find anywhere else, and I’ve never been anywhere that let you interact so closely. We each bought the larger bag of pellets and I’m glad we did because they lasted us through the park and we still had some left over for the walking portion. We rode the bus through the park and had a very funny and entertaining driver named Jack. Though I would recommend if you’re going as a group with small kids that you rent one of their vans to drive through the park, because with the bus you had to be sitting next to the window seats to hand feed the animals and since the bus is taller than the vans it’s not as easy. An absolute MUST if you’re visiting Pine Mountain.

We visited today with our 4 and 6 year old grandchildren and had a wonderful time. It may have been due to the fact that we were not as concerned about masking and social distancing as some other visitors may be. If you are that concerned about germs then probably feeding and petting “wild” animals may not be something you should participate in. We didn’t want to wait the estimated 3 hours to get a van so we drove our car which ended up being rammed by one of the rams when it became upset that we stopped feeding him.

We had an opportunity to visit the Wildlife Safari in Pine Mountain Georgia in the month of June. It was a great experience. The staff was friendly and unlike other visitors we found the bathrooms close to the front entrance very clean. As was previously suggested, I found wearing the garden gloves very helpful. If you take the tour bus, use your animal food sparingly or buy two bags because the route is long and there are plenty of animals to feed along the way. We broke the larger pieces in half which was helpful. Sitting close to the front on the tour bus allows you the opportunity to feed the larger animals first. The park does accept credit cards which wasn’t clear on their website. The tour bus only runs certain times during the day. The first scheduled bus tour was about 45mins after it opened so we visited the walking tour first. The tour bus doesn’t wait so make sure that you are waiting in line when it arrives. This was an awesome experience and we look forward to visiting again.

The small zoo was much more than I expected! The drive through portion of the safari was great! Definitely buy at least 2 bags of food! Definitely don’t take your own vehicle-RENT theirs! Best 30-40$ you’ll spend! If it was to rain the day before your trip bring something to sit own or buy a poncho from the gift story. I had to learn this from a bad experience, but still had a great great time! Understand it is an up close experience!

Love coming to Wild Animal Safari! We come here often, and always have a terrific time! Jack, the bus driver on our recent trip, was as funny as he was informative! Since this is such a wonderful place, it can get busy. So, to make sure you have a 5-star time, here are a few suggestions. #1) Go on their website, and look on their calendar to find what time they open. Then, get there a 1/2 hour before opening. #2) When buying the tickets and food, find out what time the 1st bus leaves. (It was a total of 6 people on our bus.) #3) On the bus, sit on the first row near the door. One time, the bus driver opened the door and had a giraffe, then a bison stick its neck in to get food. #4) If you have a few minutes before the 1st bus leaves, Go through the walk thru part of the park. The animals are awake and you can see them. Later in the day, you may not see all the animals (they are sleeping in their house). Love all the animals! Especially Rosie (16' female giraffe) and Too Tall (18' male giraffe)!! They LOVE to eat and Rosie doesn't mind being petted. Too Tall not so much. And, amazingly, the bison seem to like being petted, who knew? ;) Also, take paper towels/wet wipes to keep your hands clean. Highly recommend!!! =)

Family of 5...3 adults (16 yr old)and 2 kids with animal food and rental safari van was $178 for about 2 hours of fun including the Walk About portion of Park. But if you are not crying laughing during the visit you either don’t have a pulse or you chose to drive your own car...Don’t drive your own car!!! Animals will be banging into side with horns and antlers. Place is a blast and would recommend to anyone.

By K7tiv |

We enjoyed the trip through Wild Animal Safari greatly. The only drawback was that the animals appear to be starving. There are too many animals for the size of the land and vegetation is too sparse for the number. Otherwise it is terrific and they come up to the vehicles. A zebra even tried to eat our rear view mirror. Great service at check in, a great gift shop and clean restrooms. This is an incredible place for young children to elderly. There’s a great variety of animals. They just need to be sure all the animals get well fed.

By julezvm |

“This is the best thing our family’s dine in sooo long” was our oldest daughter’s exclamation. Our youngest quickly agreed.
This place is WONDERFUL!!! We experienced nearly every animal there, as we drove thru a 2nd time. The laughter & adrenaline rushes from buffalo, a giraffe & many other animals will stay w/us forever.

By Bill N |

We rented one of their vehicles to do the drive through safari ( highly recommended ) when you go through the gate they offer you a slobber towel buy the towel..... very cool place lots of interactions with the animals

By nikizjo |

My whole family thoroughly enjoyed this! I would say this was a once in a lifetime for us, driving thru and getting to hand feed all sorts of large animals, some exotic species! We laughed until we cried! My husband, mom, 10 year old daughter and I had so much fun tossing food pellets into the mouths of all sorts of hoofed creatures! We loved this....actually more than Callaway! We rented a van for fear of having our personal vehicle damaged. One time a bull banged up against the mirror just a little trying to knock a fellow bull out of his way. I'm not sure if he would have done any damage if I would have been in my own car but at that point, I'm glad we weren't. The rental vans are in pitiful shape but I understand this place probably doesn't have much income and the animals and land probably require a lot of upkeep. The price of the food pellets isn't super cheap but DONT RUN OUT, I splurged and bought the family pack for the four of us and we gave the pellets out without concern and had a little left over when nearing the end of the road. I wouldn't have been able to bear not having enough pellets for those sweet faces with long tongues and lots of drool begging for food! Also, GET THERE EARLY, if you don't want to have to wait in line 😉. Definitely recommend for the whole family! Oh and I saw reviews complaining about drool....we took a rental van with a bar across the window and I do not recall anyone getting any drool on them at all, if you took your personal car and rolled the windows down, I cannot vouch for the drool factor.

It has been awhile and when we visited, we ended up going back 4 times that summer.. It was really fun. Clean

By Nicole H |

We were told by some friends this was to go as a family and we have a 2 year old son who is obsessed with Safari animals so thought it would be a great experience- this exceeded our expectations! So many laughs as the animals literally put their faces in the vechicle. Highly recommend renting the vans they have on site! Can’t imagine driving my personal vechile through there since the rams jump up to say hello. (Which makes it even more fun!) So fun for all ages! Have recommended it to so many friends already and can’t wait to be back!

By Brittany S |

The drive-thru safari part was a lot of fun, we took our own vehicle through and the kids had a blast. The only part which I’m very sad about is at the time of buying the tickets the woman never explained that there was a whole other petting zoo side with other animals. Would’ve made for more fun.

By alozam |

Went with family and dropped $ 275 for tickets food and an hour van rental! The members of the group who have a little animal experience had a bel of a time ! Lots of tongues, snot , and large gusts of smelly buffalo burps!!! Yes it's dirty fun and it's hot but driving in the van with all the animals trying to get in with us to eat anything they can get there tongues on ! What a wonderful time to listen to everyone hoot and Laff and make remarks about how slimey there snouts are ! Unfortunately we brought a few dead beats who were grossed out by the whole experience! There is something special when you drop a food pellet into a persons lap and and ostrich or giraffe try to eat it can be very funny ! I suggest making it a point to do that to the people who are grossed out by the whole experience ! Yes it's dirty nasty fun but don't waste your time bringing old aunt Sally or uncle Will if they find dog snot overly offense because this is dog snot times 10!! DONT bring in your car !!!!! Spend the $25 and then no worry about a new paint job!

By ellencompton69 |

It was cool to feed the animals! I wish they had elephants though, I'd love see more other wild animals from African Safari. But it was good and fun experienced we had.

By gsdamron |

We took some of our family to Wild Animal Safari during their spring break. They had such a great time! The children loved it when the animals would come up to the truck to get the food! They also have a nice petting area for the children... This is a great place to take a day trip!

By Cindi M |

Great place to take the kids! We rented one of their vans to drive thru the park and had the best time ever!!! Amazing place!

By linda8184 |

This drive thru zoo is so much fun. Allow yourself an hour to go through. It is a long way but has lots of animals. Fun for the whole family!

By Jim B |

We decided ongoing here and we are glad we did. We took the bus through the park, the driver was very comical and friendly. We saw a lot of animals up close as they come to the bus knowing that they will be fed. Very informative trip.

By TrailBlazer372584 |

Our trip started out fun because it was funny to watch the animals and the reaction to family members on the receiving end. It soon turned to being sad for the animals that look like they receive minimal or no care. On the ride through the condition of the animals was disheartening. The hair and hides of many looked mangy. I guess the worst was a poor horse with crusty matted up eyes.
The walk through was the absolute worse. The animals were kept in small cages and not appropriate in any way other than to cage them for monetary means. They were pacing back and forth and the smell was horrible. We could not finish the walk around. Toooo sad. The poor wolf was whimpering or crying. The bears were in a small enclosure as was the alligator. All of the monkeys/chimps.......just not in a natural environment.
I will say if you go and rent a van it would be wise to carry something to sit on. The vans are disgustingly dirty. If you don't mind seeing animals out of their environment, in too small for them cages and not healthy looking, this is for you.

By aricka G |

The drive thru area is so worth it especially getting food to feed them. For our party of 7 we bought the family pack and it was the perfect amount. Even with the many many animals running up to our car and basically demanding food. it was so cute and just an amazing expirience to feed zebra, deer, pigs, buffalo, camels, a giraffe, donkeys and llamas. I would go here again and again. The walk thru area can be skipped its small with just a few animals in there cage habitats (bear, baboon, tiger, dingo, wolves) there are peacocks wandering around if you love those. The only reason I'm glad we checked out that area was the baby giraffe that we could pet.

By Jim C |

We brought the grandkids on an overnight camping trip and visited this park. It was our 4th visit but 1st time for the kids. They had a blast on the tour bus and feeding the animals. Highly recommended!

By jennys0607 |

We visited with extended family and there were 14 of us that rode in a rented van from the zoo. Our ages ranged from 4 - 70 and all of us had a blast driving through and feeding the animals. I highly recommend renting a van there because the animals literally stick their heads in the windows and are not gentle, which is what makes the experience so fun while not worrying about damage to the vehicle. We witnessed someone with their newer truck get a large dent in the side by a long horn. This is worth the trip!!

By brianr1959 |

..My wife and I visited Wild Animal Safari just outside Lagrange Georgia. It was a great place to take the kids and tour the open areas with all types of animals. You can ride their buses or take your own vehicle, (at your own risk!). We rode on the bus and was shown many animals. They also have a walk in portion of the park that is a reasonable walk to see many other animals. Great fun and a must see for adults and kids alike! Loved it!!

By Kate N |

We did it all! We rode the bus through the safari park and had an amazing tour guide named Jack. Very knowledgeable and funny. We then ate some very good and reasonably priced food from their cafe. The walk about let’s you see even more animals. We spent a good 3 1/2 hours at the park. Very worth the price...especially if you get Jack as a tour guide. The only negative was the woman who checked us out at the gift shop. She was very unfriendly. It’s unfortunate because everyone else was so wonderful and she was the last person we had interaction with before we left.

By JAMomon |

Wonderful trip with our 2 toddlers! Our bus tour was quite wet (rainy), but it was still exciting to see the animals, and even feed some. Oh, our our guide, Mr. Jack, was very informative and entertaining. We will return with the children AND their
grandmothers next time!
*Couldn't give 5 stars because the restroom was very unclean.

By lila862018 |

I must say I was very surprised at how many animals completely surround your car (zebra van) as soon as you drive in. Definitely buy the food as the animals will walk away if you don't feed them (ran out of food fast 4 bags). Will be going back even though it was pricey, but I would pay since I know it cost a lot to take care of that place and animals.

By dizzyinga |

It was hot, I suggest you go early morning,if going later in the day ,drive yourself, the animals aren't that hungry and won't harm your vehicle, you will be grateful for the air.All in all we had a nice time.

By Tammy V |

Always love coming here! The staff is amazing. The animals are everything you would hope. The new baby giraffe is worth the trip.

By Ollie Bramlett |

We really enjoyed the animals that weren't in cages. It was a lot of fun. We particularly did not like how the lions were in a cage barely fit for a regular dog, much less two lions. You can't interact with them or feed them so we don't understand why they are even there to begin with. They look so sad. The camel was definitely not in good shape either. Literally thought it was about to fall over . We don't understand why y'all have it there either since you can't interact with or feed it. Besides the caged animals we had lots of good laughs and fun interactions with the other animals. And also, where were the giraffes??

By Rene' S |

We loved our visit to the safari! My only complaint is about the soggy seats of the van that we rented. It’s understandable since it rained the night before and the van has no windows.

By Lynette58 |

We visited with elderly grandparents and grandkids. There were 10 of us. When we arrived the bus had just left, and over an hour before the next. With two children under age of two, we could not wait for bus. We all wanted to be together in a vehicle so they suggested the rental van for an extra $40. The van looked like it had come from a junkyard! Headliners and seats ripped open. Floors nasty. Animal food everywhere in seats and on floor. So much foam was out of the seat, I was sitting on the frame. My husband was driving. His foot kept slipping off of the brake pedal because the rubber was worn off. So for six adults, two children, and two babies, this adventure cost us $387. While the animals were great, and our grandkids had fun feeding...mostly deer, elk, a few zebras and water buffalo. One giraffe in caged area. There is a short walking path with one bear, one tiger, hyena, and a few kangaroo. Overall, our experience would have been different minus the nasty van! They should be paying people to drive those vans instead of charging you $40 to drive that heap of junk for an hour.

I wish I had a warning about this place.
First of all the bison and buffalo were POORLY taken care of. One of them had a missing eye and the other had a missing horn. Both of the wounds were fresh and crusting over with blood. Buy the looks of the horn I'm assuming it got stuck in one of the windows of the vans and got ripped off. Also, we didn't see the giraffe which was the one thing my daughter really wanted to see and then there was one caged camel. The rest were deer and some kind of sheep.
Second, the walk thru pretty bad as well. The enclosures were too small for alot of the zoo animals, and some of them were walking back and forth like they had gone crazy. They were very stressed and so sad to look at.
Third, prices but were too expensive for what you get. It was $60 dollars just to get in and then an extra $40 to rent a van (which only lasted an hour for the drive thru) and pellets. The drive thru didn't have the giraffe which was the one thing my daughter really wanted to see and then there was one caged camel. The rest were deer and some kind of sheep.

There were 7 of us ranging from 16 to 54. We had a blast! We rented a large van, and yes it was beat up (the billy goats put their front hooves on the vans and walk down it!) but the seats were clean. We did purchase 2 of the 4 packs of food and the animals definitely know to come to the vehicles! We got great pictures and had so much fun! I definitely recommend this in the winter (cooler temps).

This is our third visit with the grandchildren and it’s always lots of fun. There are two sections, a drive through and a walk about. You can ride the park bus, drive your own car or rent a van. We always rent a van for the drive through. I would not recommend driving your own car unless it’s very old or your going straight to the car wash. The animals ( bison, deer, zebra, elk, giraffe, pigs, camels and many more) stick their drooling large heads right into the car wanting food. This time we bought the large container of food and ran out way before the end of the drive. The Grands LOVE to feed the animals and we do too! The “walk about” zoo area has animals we have never seen before such as baboons and a sloth. It’s a fun afternoon with the Grands but a bit pricey. Short drive from Atlanta.

Grandchildren saw live animal birth! Amazing. Birds on walk through part delightful. Second time going and greatly enjoyed it as much or more than first visit

By namvet1946 |

Only giving this a bad review because they let 3 car lots full of cars in so there was no social distancing at all. To get you own van it was a 3 hour wait after being open only 15 minutes. So you had to take tour bus which was extra fee and there was absolutely no social distancing on that thing. Wasn't even wiped down between tours. You even had to wait in line for 20 minutes to wash your hands afterwards. Intercom was not working on tour bus and it kept stalling 4 times during the trip.

By Vinny0014 |

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. We thought the prices were a little high to get in, but we were not disappointed. The earlier the better. By the afternoon the animals are all fat and lazy. We were there at noon and they were swarming us.

By richardmJ346NL |

Fun day driving through the park. Would advise riding their bus instead of your car. Some of the animals stuck their heads through our open windows looking for food. Definitely had to get the cars washed afterwards, but overall a fun day with no issues.

By dphillips78 |

Rent a van it’s a little extra the experience is awesome it’s great to just be with the family the animals are relentless they love the food

By Shawna W |

It was well worth every penny spent. There were sooo many of almost any type of animal you can think of. The bison crowded the entrance and exits and blocked the way, but that was a minor inconvenience for an amazing experience.

By Babs_D_M |

I can't believe this place has such good ratings just based on the horrible zoo.

So as for the safari ride, it was pretty fun. The animals come up to your car and will take food from you. We did enjoy this. I would recommend renting one of their vehicles ($25) just to keep yours clean.
My poor rating comes from the state of the "walk through" portion. The animals look very sick and agitated, most likely because they are in much too small enclosures. The baboons were diseased, the dingoes and serval were pacing very nervously, the giraffe was definitely depressed (probably it was too young to be separated from it's mother, who I assume was in the main safari drive through). It was truly heartbreaking to see, especially since the drive through was so pleasant.

By Traveling_Aunt26 |

We have taken the grand kids a few times and each time the animals appeared to be in worse shape. Baboons, wolves and dingos in extremely small enclosures. All of these just pace back and forth, never a good sign. The poor baboons are way too close to the tourists and become agitated at the slightest noise. They were in a concrete cage, with no access to grass. The rhino had vanished in this last visit. I specifically looked for the rhino because the last time we came the rhino was out in the safari area but was laying down in an open air shed and never moved or raised its head on that cold day. I pray the rhino was sold to another zoo. The parrots' were housed in a tiny enclosed building due to the cold weather but we could see their feathers were in terrible shape through the viewing window. They looked pitiful. One employee mentioned that the owner ONLY allowed them to sell artwork painted by the animals to make money for animal enrichment items, but would not allow them to do anything else. I cannot confirm or deny if this is true, but I did see the art that was created by the animals. Basically, all of the animals in the Walk About area appeared to need new and larger enclosures. Many of these animals just paced back and forth incessantly. The reptile house smelled like a morgue. These animals would be so much better off at Chehaw or some other zoo where they could get decent medical care and better living conditions. Many of the animals in the safari area appeared to be in ill health and in need of medical attention. We will not be going again.

Kinsley was so helpful at the front desk. What a wonderful young lady. We enjoyed the park as always. Go earlier in the day and the animals feed better. They eat all day so don’t worry if you can’t make it early. Make reservations on line to ensure you get a van and don’t have to wait. I wouldn’t recommend taking your own vehicle if you don’t want it possible scratched or dented

By mlarsan2017 |

Positives: an interesting place for a family outing, chance to get up close and personal with wildlife. Negatives: heat, exhaust, dirt, traffic.

You can mostly see a wide array of animals and get up close with a handful. The giraffe was the best. He was gentle and took the food straight from your hand. No worries about being bitten. If you’re riding the bus, you will get advice on which ones are safe to place your hand out to. If you drive yourself, this could be an issue. I would recommend going in the morning before the animals are full from being fed by the visitors all day. Probably not a good idea to go on a Holiday weelike we did.

There was a long line to get on the bus and we had to wait 45 minutes. We looked in to renting one of their vans and was told there would be a 2.5 hour wait. You can also drive your own vehicle. We had an excellent bus driver (Clint)! He helped us with knowing which animals to feed and how. He also helped to keep things moving by driving aroun$ some cars. The private cars and rental vans are “supposed “ to let the buses pass but that did not normally happen. You may want to avoid day that are 90 plus degrees and/or rainy. There aren’t any windows or air conditioning. We got stuck in “traffic “ several times. A normally 1 hour trip turned to close to 2 hours. It would have been an oven if the breeze wasn’t blowing and some overcast. Can’t imagine if the bus broke down. You wouldn’t be able to get out and would have to wait to be rescued. Don’t wear any light colored or nice clothes. The buses/vans have plenty of dust and dirt. I would not recommend driving your own vehicle. Potential damage from animals and safety concerns with not knowing which animals are safe to feed or not. If you get behind one of these old buses, you will get enveloped with a huge cloud of exhaust!

I would definitely recommend taking your children to see the animals. Just look at the info above and plan properly. Be early, dress comfortably and willing to get dirty, check the weather, and ride the bus.

We have so much fun here - this is the best place in Georgia! The park is very well-maintained, the animals are happy and well fed. :). It is such a great place to interact with animals in a secure environment. So different from a zoo. It's become a holiday tradition, can't wait to go back!

By AtlantaSpurs |

Hi
My kids 10 and below loved this experience.
Was pretty expensive. Social distancing was an issue. Park was run down a bit.
So why a 4 ratting? You don’t get an experience like this every day. You interact with giraffes, zebras and ostriches. Try go very early in the day or after 3pm to avoid Carona issues and large crowds

By Cy V |

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We opted to take a tour bus of the safari. Our bus driver Carol was amazing at telling us facts about the animals and the history of the park. She also gave great tips on feeding the animals. We got some fun photos that we will cherish. The bus sat higher that driving our own car or renting a vehicle would have, which I thought worked well for feeding the larger animals. My favorite was the giraffe, who stuck his entire head into the bus several times.
The park was recently disturbed by a tornado, so there was still some damage. That being said, I was not as much a fan of the walk-through zoo area. It looks like they are trying to expand that area with new exhibits. However, the charm of the park is the safari where most of the animals free-roam. I wish they had applied that mentality when designing the cages for the walk-through.

Must do!
Well worth the money.
The walk thru isn’t much but still cool
The drive thru is so fun!
Make sure to get enough food because they are hungry lol

I had been here a couple of times before and let me say that timing is very important. This time we only had ONE car in there with us and we could tell they were in a hurry and just pulled over to let them pass. I do not think I would ever go on a weekend and even weekdays can have buses of children, so...... with that being said - my advice.
We arrived early afternoon on a cloudy day, used our AAA discount ( also cheaper if you buy tickets online before you go, but you cannot combine discounts) We rented a small van - they are painted zebra style and have no windows, but large bars across them so the animals cannot get their heads in. The bus does not run every day so you need to check the schedule when it does - otherwise your choices are rent or drive your own. I would NOT take my vehicle through - ever! They give specific directions about how to feed certain animals ( if you want to keep your fingers) The vehicles are for these drives and there is food all over the place.( do NOT wear nice clothes - very casual) I threw all our clothes in the washing machine as soon as we got home.
We each bought a large bag of food and if there had been three of us we would have bought a bucket. It is very easy to feed and use all your food up quickly. I'm not sure if it was lack of visitors for the day or if the animals are always like this - but we had them running towards us throughout the entire drive! I can see how small children and maybe some adults would find the zebras VERY aggressive ( because they were ) and a tad scary. We just found it fun - tossing food into their open mouths and got some funny pictures. They swamped the car as soon as we were in the gate. All the other animals were way less aggressive. Our favorite was the giraffe - we fed over half our food to him. He just came over to the car and put his head down and would take the food with his long tongue - very gentle - very! He would keep going from side to side on the car depending on the zebras who were still trying to get more food. Giraffe - definitely our favorite! There are lots of elk and lots of small deer like animals that I have no idea what or where they come from. They would come up to be fed too = but at more of a distance. Any type of goat would put there hooves up to get closer. One ostrich pecked me in my hand for food when I was taking a picture in the opposite direction so i did not see her coming. It did not hurt, but startled me. There were lots of potbelly pigs and piglets. The funniest thing was watching the little ones run to the car to get fed.We ran out of food very early and wished we had saved some for the end because the end is also the beginning and lots of animals were there as we were leaving, LOTS.
You can only take the car around once and because it took us a long time we feel we got our money out of it. ( I think there is a time limit on it on days when they need it)
There is a small walk around area that has some interesting animals. We tried to buy food to feed the monkeys and put money in before we saw that the food could not fall, so check to make sure there is some. The liger cub ( lion /tiger mix) beside the white tiger was very active and it was fun to watch them running side by side. I thought some of the enclosures here were "small" and would like to see them in larger areas, but...
I have been on three real safaris and as long as you are not expecting that type of experience - I would suspect you would have as much fun as we did. It is not very often you can feed so may animals you see only on TV or in a zoo. I am certain you and your children will enjoy the experience.

By Jamie P |

Word of advice ....reserve one of their vehicles. Do not drive your car through the park. These are huge animals with horns that will damage your vehicle.

That being said, we had a blast. The animals come right to the vehicle for food. All the animals are free roaming. Theres also a petting area with smaller animals.

By Rhyne A |

I could complain about lots of things, but my 10 year old's review pretty much trumps mine: "This is the best place ever!!"

She loves animals and really enjoyed getting to see them up close and very personal. A couple of tips:

Don't skip the walkabout area. This was my favorite part.
RENT A VAN. No matter how nasty or beat up they look, do yourself a favor and rent one. You will mess up your car.
Buy the food. The best way to make friends with the animals is by buying enough food for the whole trip around.

By Chad K |

Loads of fun and remember the animals can reach your car. You can also walk around and see the small animals too. Good time with the kids.

By Ward D |

I grew up visiting Lion Country Safari in Florida. This was a place where you could drive your car through the enclosure with wild animals. You did not feed them but it put you really close to the animals. We were visiting Callaway Gardens and decided to see what else is in the area. This is one of them. It is really a hidden gem for the area. It is fairly easy to get to and has plenty of parking. They have a small gift shop and a small zoo with several animals in enclosures to include big cats. If you feel adventurous you can buy a bag of food and drive into the large enclosure and feed teh larger animals. You have a choice of driving through the enclosure in your own car or renting a vehicle from the company. We drove our own car but, in hindsight, may rent their car on the next visit since some of the animals peck or scratch your car aggressively to get you to give them food that they know most cars who open windows have. We drove through, at time almost at a standstill from animals that lay down in front of the car hoping to get us to put food out. When you did, they move out. It is a large enclosure and took us about 15-25 minutes to drive the loop. It was a lot of fun and interesting to feed the animals but be ready to have them stick their heads totally into your car and slobber all over you. If you have kids or love animals, I would definitely recommend doing the drive through and supporting this park.

By Culture29181339136 |

Literally the best ever! I had so much fun with my family. I recommend driving a rental vehicle because the animals could scratch up your car. Really fun experience too. Not to mention I got to pet my favorite animal:giraffe.

By Gardens2 |

Had a fun visit to see lots of wild animals up close. Going in the morning is probably best because the animals will be walking around instead of lying in the shade. We bought food for the animals there but I think they had already been fed a bunch so some weren’t so interested in it. We rode in the safari bus with a guide and he was informative. Some animals walked right up to the windows. In the walking part of the park we got to pet a 3 month old giraffe which was awesome!

We got some fabulous animal pictures. I didn’t think their website was easy to navigate. They do have a small restaurant with a limited menu but I didn’t see that mentioned on the website. I couldn’t find their hours listed but I think they open at 10. Children will definitely enjoy the experience. All of us had fun!

By Tommie N |

So much fun! Definitely rent a van and buy at least two bags of food but I wish I had two for just me. Baby animals in the spring. Where else can you pet a blonde buffalo. Loved it!!!!!

By Carol F |

An amazing day being really up close and personal with the animals during the drive through! Everyone was thrilled and amazed - from the grandmother to the elementary age kids. And the walk about Zoo was also wonderful. We got to feed the birds and they would land on our hands while they ate. We will definitely be going back! Highly recommend for a family day outing!

By Experience813250 |

The experience was great for my granddaughters, ages 2.5 and almost 5. We bought the family bag of food and still ran out before the end! Conserve the food along the way! The animals are well trained to come to the vehicles and stick their heads in to get food. I also bought one of the slobber towels but had I known could have easily brought my own towel. As others have said, their vehicles are very dirty but one can see why after the trip there. Just wear clothes that can get dirty!
We didn't get to see any giraffes and also didn't see several other animals in the walk around area due to the time of the year that we went (January 2020). We may go back in the Spring to see the difference. All in all, it was a great adventure for us all!

By sailawayaussies |

We had already been advised to use the WAS as the animals were rough on vehicles. Boy was that a true statement. Although the rental van was extremely dirty, it was worth the $23 it cost to rent. Also had the bars on the windows that would allow us to easily pet and feed the animals without them crawling all the way in. All animals were healthy looking and friendly for food so make sure you purchase at least 4 bags, Bring your own slobber rag for each person as the animals do a lot of drooling. This was exciting, fun, funny and educational. What a wonderful trip. We were there about 10 am. We recommend you get there at this time. Animals are still hungry and interested in vehicles.

By Bobbi F |

We had a great time, but rent the Zebra Van! There is a Ram who's a huge jerk... he will eat the food you give him and then ram your car when you pass him. We saw him do this to 4 vehicles, including ours (luckily, we rented the van). He busted the persons tail light in front of us, who sadly did not rent the van... it was insane 😂 he's a lunatic.

By Louise D |

We used the free bus to go through the safari rather than our new Highlander. You can rent a car, but we opted to use the bus. We enjoyed it and ended up going through twice in order to sit on both sides of the bus to see everything. Thes best thing about the bus is having the driver tell you what the different animals are and giving information about them. We did the Walkabout, but it wasn't as interesting.

By livelife h |

Cool place to see all kind of the animals. See Zebras, giraffes, camels and more. The best part you can interact with a baby giraffe who love my shirt.

By Megan H |

Good amount and variety of animals. The driver helped make the ride pleasant. I will return with even more children that I think would enjoy this.

By Pat S |

What a hoot!!! We loved feeding all the animals but especially the American Bison. We've been several times when we've had company and everyone has always enjoyed it. Lots of laughs!!! Buy plenty of food because you will go through a bunch of it! And take old towels with you as you might get drooled on :-)
And I should give kudos to the staff ... they were awesome!

By Ariyonna W |

Was a great experience ! Capt. Jack was super knowledgeable and had awesome jokes along the way. Will be returning very soon !

By Carla M |

Excellent experience! We don't have kids, it was just my husband and I but it was very fun and exciting to see and meet all of these animals that were roaming "free". Definitely recommend renting their vehicles instead of using your own. You may have to wait 1hr or more but it's worth it. Once you start feeding the animals they may come up to your window and I saw some visitors who ended up with animal heads all the way inside of their windows, which I don't think is safe to the animals or the people.
Their vehicles for rent are NOT clean by any means, but at least they have bars on the windows and if they get scratched by the long horns, you won't have to worry about fixing it.
We definitely want to go back with a group!

By michaelrholmes |

Wife and I went.. Had fun, lots of neat animals. Will bring the Grandkids next time.. but advise renting a vehicle if you have one you dont mind getting scathes on. They did tell us it was possible... And very possible it is..

Everybody who visits Bangkok invariably would visit this Safari.
Be sure to reach there in the early hours latest by 10:00AM.
As during the summers and Monsoon which is a off season like situation the Animal shows start off quite early and especially on week days have on one show of each so you might miss them.
As regards the booking try to get them on line as at the Spot you have to pay 1400/ with meal but if you get it online or through some agents you may get it for a 1000/ BHT OR 1100/ BHT with pick up and drop.
The food served is good and although the crowd is big it goes on quite smooth. Do not let the mob deter you from entering the dinning hall. Things are very systematic although the crowd might be a little or a little too much unruly but it still ends up well.
Over all a wonderful experience . Don not miss it.
A full day activity do not add any thing else to this day.

This is definitely one of the best experiences we have ever had! Loved it so much. The animals come right up and in the windows. They are very tame. At first, we only paid to drive though in our own vehicle. I happened to overhear another guest say the animals will scratch your car. We went back in and rented a park vehicle. Soooo glad we did!! Yes, they jump up, slobber, etc. in the car. It feels like Jurassic Park. We bought the $4.95 bag but, next time I think I would buy two of those. We had to ration ours toward the end. Incredible experience and highly recommend! P.s. this was just the two of us. The car in front of us had children and they were screaming in terror so, you may want to gauge how anxious your children are, especially around animals.

By mrsharrison05 |

A wonderful experience with family, we got to ride through the park for an hour then for another walk through to see even more animals. We fed every animal that we could and we all thoroughly enjoyed it!

This is a great safari in the midst of Georgia. I went there with my wife and one year old. We ended up using one of their tour buses that leave every 30 minutes. The driver is very safe and provides a lot of insights into the animals and their habitats.

The ticket includes visit to the safari and a walkabout (mini zoo).

Great family fun. Highly recommended!

By Chan C |

My experience was ok. I took the kids and it started raining on our drive there. I chose the option to rent one of their vans for $30, instead of taking the bus due to covid. The van back doors would not open, my kids had to climb over the seats, the seats were wet even after the cashier told me the van had been covered, and there were dirty masks along the floor of the van. I'm glad I brought disinfectant spray along with me. Overall mediocre experience, they're overpriced, and it wasn't worth it. I won't be back I only left stars because kids was able to see a few animals..

By Reese N |

A wonderful experience for kids or adults. We rode the bus through the park and saw so many animals up close and personal -- and to feed them! Our guide was excellent but the speaker system on the bus made it difficult to understand everything he said.

By swimmy4 |

I wish I had rented one of the zoo's vans instead of driving my car through the safari area. Two zebras gnawed on my rearview mirror and the animals put their hooves on the car to try to get inside the windows to get food. It was kind of scary at times, and there were several times we had to stop because the animals wouldn't move from the road. It was strange to see many different types of animals in a huge herd together - zebras, buffalo, deer, pigs, etc. We did see a lot of baby animals, so they were cute. It was sad to see big cats, monkeys and other animals in what appeared to be small, sparse cages, especially if you are used to seeing animals in really high quality habitats in other zoos.

We showed up at opening this past Sunday after visiting Callaway Gardens for a quick family getaway. I have seen several people's pictures from visiting the Wild Safari and had all intentions on making the trip. I purchased our tickets online (apparently you can do this and save some money...you have to purchase 24 hours before so you cant buy same day). We rented their vehicle to drive. I recommend rain coats as the cars are dirty and the animals do snort and open mouths at windows. It was slightly intimidating at first but quickly we relaxed and enjoyed it so much! We bought 4 bags of food and ran out before the half way mark. Wish we bought more. Being there first thing in the morning- the animals where super excited to see our vehicle! It was really amazing experience! They also have a walk around zoo that was equally amazing, close up to all kinds of animals. Overall- highly recommended and worth the cost!

By Sara N |

I used to go here when I was younger. I took my kids for spring break and they loved it just as much as I did years ago!! We loved seeing all the animals!!

By Toni K |

Found this gem during our first every trip to Callaway Gardens. Decided to stop by before heading home. We rented to mini van and glad we did. Although very dirty on the inside and in need of a deep deep cleaning, it was a must. Sprayed it down with Lysol we had on hand due to COVID-19.

The bars on the van kept the animals from coming into the window! This was awesome because they just wanted to be feed and would have put their whole head inside if they could.

This experience was great for the whole family. We were so close to the animals that my teen was able to pet a Zebra! How often in life can you pet a Zebra! My kids enjoyed feeding the giraffes and seeing the ostriches! Beautiful deer and burrows! Wild life galore!

Go! Lasting memories.

Fun for all ages! Buffalo, Deer, Rams, Giraffe, Emu, and many more animals get up close and personal for the food you offer. Best advice I can give you is to take your camera, a towel or two and germix. Also, splurge for the 50 pound bag of food those animals are hungry and rent one of their vehicles for the drive through your insurance company will thank you.

We visited with my daughter and two grandchildren, ages 4 and 10. Everyone enjoyed the Safari bus tour. We purchased feed prior to the tour. There were plenty of animals to feed. They ran to the bus from all directions. I will treasure a selfie of a giraffe "Rosie" whom stuck her head ithrough the bus doorway. Our guide Larry was very informative. Had we not taken the bus tour, we would have missed out on valuable information and trivia. It is well worth the visit. We took a walking tour and saw many species and a 3-week old baby giaraffe. We all had fun and laughs. We highly recommend this experience for all ages.

Large area for roaming hoofed animals such as bison, pigs, deer, camel and giraffes is nice. Sadly the conditions of enclosures for big cats such as 2 lions and a tiger were terrible. They should be forced to give up these animals as no big cat should be kept in conditions like this. Also smelly cages with monkeys, etc. Price fair for bus ride and food to feed animals.

By nancym931 |

Not really "wild" animals, thank goodness, but tons of them and they are hungry! Was a blast to drive through and see & feed them all. Really enjoyed the experience.

By JaciDiane |

SO much laughter and so many new memories!! We read the reviews before we came so we could make the best of our animal safari and I’m so happy we did- below you’ll find some good choices to make if you’re coming here :)

1) Drive your own car if you want heads in the windows, rent their barred-window cars if you don’t. We took our own and don’t regret it, although we will need a car wash :)

2) bring towels. You’ll want something to catch the drool, you’ll want something to wipe your hands on, and you’ll want something to spill food pellets on with no worries. We brought one towel for each of use and put them over our laps and it really minimized the mess.

3) buy your ticket online before you go. We got ours a week in advance- minimized the hassle and the cost.

4) Buy lots of food. There were two of us and we went through the Family Fun Pack of 8 bags perfectly- not too much, not too little.

5) don’t dress for the runway. Dress more like you were going on a Magic School Bus “in the mouth” episode.

6) Stick a camera on your windshield or dashboard facing you. Especially at the front of the park, you’ll want your hands free to feed the animals and ward off tongues while still capturing the hilarity of it all.

Happy adventuring!

Went a few years ago and loved it. This time, not so much. This place isn't cheap and we don't mind because we love the animals. However, didn't appreciate being trailed and taunted by a male worker in a Safari truck. He started just after 5p driving past us several times and turning around. He finally got up right behind us and made hand gestures at 515p to stop feeding and leave. His intentions were clear, get out! We were well aware of the 530p closing time and respect that. We were near the end. But when I pay well over $100 I don't expect to be pushed out of the park 15 minutes before closing. We budgeted our Safari time/food accordingly. He promptly locked the gate behind us and raced off toward the exit. We won't be back.

Visited here today with daughter’s family (2 kids). Had prepaid tickets but still had to stand in line to reconfirm tickets. Unnecessary step. Social distancing totally ignored by all but a few people wore masks due to Covid19. Many People packed into beat-up old buses, again ignoring distancing. A walk-around area was halfway decent with some interesting tightly penned animals. Driving our personal vehicle thru the park was, for the most part, agony. EVERY car had to stop to see each group of animals for 5-10 minutes backing up hundreds (???) of cars. Signs advised people to pull over so people could pass if necessary but everyone ignored this advise and the road was so rough on the right and left that passing was impossible. No traffic control by park employees whatsoever. You also had to feel sorry for the wildlife. The grounds were dirty and void of vegetation. This was a Sunday. Maybe 9:00 am on a Wed might be better. Not a fun experience overall.

By Ed B |

My family and I went here last weekend with some other families, 13 people told. We rented a 15 passenger van for the Safari, # 60 and the vehicle looked as it had not been cleaned in a while. The only people with windows are the driver and passenger up front. There was no windshield wiper on the driver's side and it was raining in the beginning so it was not exactly safe. Now for the good stuff. Almost all the animals come up to your vehicle and you get a chance to feed them. EVERYONE, including a 2 yr old thought this was awesome. None of the animals were aggressive or anything. Everyone had a good time and we would all do it again.

Back in the main building, they did have food for sale, but we did not try anything. We also did a small walking tour. You get to see other animals here that you could not see on the safari tour.

The only thing that I really did not care for was the walking tour. This is because the animals are in cages and they do not have a lot of room. I felt sorry for them. Other that that, the safari was awesome and I would do that again.

This was such an amazing experience. As soon as we crossed the grid, animals came rushing to our car showing us their not so pearly whites for food. We got there first thing in the morning while the crowds were low and animals would be active. We rented a car, trust me, you want to, the bars protect you from their head literally being in your face, they are a bunch of piglets. I went with co-workers and no one knew what to expect and we all had a blast and it was an experience none of us will forget. Make sure to not wear nice clothes and to bring towels to wipe off the animal drool and plenty of wet wipes for after your excursion. I only wish the walking portion of the zoo had more space for some of the animals. I have a hard time with zoos in general, so I like the concept of the safari where the animals roam freely as it should be.

Totally worth the cost of admission. I highly recommend rebting their vehicles to drive through. The animals are huge, lots of then have horns and antlers, and they are not shy about coming up the cars for food.

That being said, we had a blast driving through, watching them up close, and feeding them.

The downside - the exotic animals need to be in much much larger enclosures. The tigers, lions, bears, hyena, wolves, and baboons are all in such tiny enclosures.

My family and I visited here years ago. My son has been begging to go back. We were recently in town for a golf tournament and made it back to the safari. It was just as much fun as we remembered. We rented the van (do NOT drive your own car through - some of the animals can get a little aggressive!) and bought 4 bags of food for the three of us. We ran out right before the end. The animals will come right up to the window to get the food. We laughed through the whole trip- you just turn around and there is a buffalo in your window! While the animals are pretty insistent on getting food, they don't bite. They just stick out their crazy long tongues or just their lips to get it. It seems expensive, but it is a very long safari - and you see LOTS of animals. Don't miss the walkabout out back. They have some great animals -including some beautiful tigers. We will definitely do this a third time if we are in the area. It is the best thing to do around Pine Mountain!

Just went on Oct 12, 2024. It was a lot of fun. Definitely rent a van and do it AHEAD of time. If you wait, they will be sold out. Same with the encounters. Book them ahead of time. It takes about one hour to drive through. Bring wet wipes or buy a slobber towel… you are gonna get some on your hands at least. They have a restaurant with great choices, even healthy ones. They have a walkabout zoo also with some good stuff. The only thing I thought was missing, was a flyer or bingo card for the kids to tell you what each animal is! We were Google searching the difference between a gazelle and impala and such to figure out what all we were looking at. The drive through had different cows, deer, water buffalo, giraffe, zebra, donkey, camel, hogs, emus, ostrich, bison, and prob a few more. Also watch for the BIG turtles in the edge of the pond as you come around the backside!

I had not been to the Wild Animal Safari in approximately 43 years and my husband had not been at all. Imagine living in Georgia most all our lives and not visiting this place. WAS opened at 10 a.m. and we arrived around 11 a.m. I had pre-purchased our tickets online two days prior which I recommend doing because the ticket prices are higher in price if you purchase them in-person. The ticket included one trip through the safari and the Walk-About experience. We listened to the prior reviews and our friends advice and rented one of their vehicles and we purchased the equivalent of two souvenir cups of food for the animals. We could have waited for a complimentary tour bus but it only runs at certain times and the next time it was due to come through was at 12 so we didn't want to wait an hour. The cost of a 7 passenger van rental was $25. We were given the keys to the van and away we went. Standing right inside the entrance gate to the Safari were our first trick-or-treaters. The various animals went from one vehicle to the next expecting food. It was the funniest thing! They knew to come to the windows and stick their heads in and open their mouths for food. One trick that we used to make our food last was to break up the pellet food into smaller pieces. The animals don't care how big the treat is only that they are getting something. It took us an hour to drive through the whole park but we encountered so many different animals along the way. It was a great experience!

Took my granddaughters, 10 & 14. They had a blast. Ending the animals as they walk up to the car. If you window is down they will stick their head in the car. Even my wife let a giraffe eat out o her hand. Good clean family fun.

By Jamie M |

It was fun, don't get me wrong, but the ticket prices are the main reason for this review rating. The drive thru had a giraffe, yes, ostrich, yes, a caged camel, and zebras. The rest were deer, so it seemed, because there were so many. Buffalo and Bison were there too. Ticket prices were just too expensive. The walk through was nice. Animal food and ticket prices for a family of 4, with military discount, was $140. Unacceptable in my opinion.

The Safari experience was great! The staff is super nice. The zoo was what you would expect. Very nice layout and most animals were active (about 10:30am). The sloth encounter was really neat however I would choose the capybara experience! They play a lot more and don’t mind the petting. I didn’t know about that experience and we had already paid for the sloth and still had a good time. The bus ride with the other wild animals was fun as well. Lots of animals to see and feed. The food is the normal snack bar food and was good. Gift shop was nice as well. No complaints. Would recommend. For family’s with young children!

By R. P. |

We had a great time. They have an amazing military discount. Our driver took us around to see all the animals. Had a fun time feeding the animals. They stuck their heads right into the windows.

We went to Wild Animal Safari because of all the favourable reviews. The first part, the drive through, was fun where you feed various animals from your car window. Although not sure how natural it is for wild animals to have to beg for food through a car window.
However, the second part which is a walk filled me with sadness. I am not an expert, but these animals do not have sufficient space in their enclosures and seemed very distressed. The baboons in particular had no escape from noisy humans and clearly showed how angry they were.
If you are an animal lover, please stay away from this park and go to a zoo/park where animals are treated properly.

By Beth H |

This is our second trip here (only because we live so far away). The first time we had 4 adults and 1 toddler. That was the best time, we still laugh about that trip. This time we had to bring our two teenagers back with us. A few things have changed but we still belly laughed the whole way through. Definitely rent a vehicle and I would by the family pack of food. Even with the family pack, we got so excited that we went through the food too quickly. I saw a few others come back with food. No idea how they managed that. If you like animals, go here! It’s a great family memory.

While my husband and I were in Pine Mountain, we had to check out the number one thing to do Wild Animal Safari. We had the best guide AJ who drove us through the park. He stopped while the animals come to the bus for you to hand feed them. The giraffe Rosy put her head in every window to be feed. What an experience!!!!! You can ride the bus through the park as many times as you want. You can also drive your car.

By Barrett L |

5 adults and an 18 month old had a great time. Will definitely go again. Took about an hour and a half to drive thru and saw and fed a lot of animals.

By FatherOfTwins50 |

We were there on a Monday and it was not crowded at all. Definitely rent one of their vans. I would never take my car through there. We had such a good time and my wife said it was one of the top ten highlights of her life. It was that good. It also provided lots of good laughs when the animals were sticking their heads through the bars of the van. Also make sure you buy the food for the animals we bought two bags but should have bought four.

By AprilFNP |

This is my second visit. I drove the 2.5 hours to bring my daughter many years ago. Recent visit was with my daughter and grandchildren. We had a blast. You must visit and rent their van. The animal interaction is awesome. Buy twice the food you think you’ll need and bring the baby wipes to clean up later. Laughter!!

We had a great time at the Wild Animal Safari today. We used our own vehicle to enter the portion of the zoo where you can feed the animals. They are all super friendly and sweet and cute. They had a variety of deer, buffalo, oxen, cows, zebras, pigs, big birds, llamas, giraffes, camels and much more. It was great fun. We laughed a lot. Definitely some of the animals can scratch or dent your vehicle. None did to ours, but a ram did scratch it with his horns. It wasn't an aggressive move, but he was just trying to reach the food and hit it coming down.
They also have a small walking zoo with tigers, bears, a variety of monkeys, birds, goats, kangaroos, and some other neat animals.

The only two complaints I have and why I did not give it 4 stars was because the restrooms were DISGUSTING. The stench of urine hits you as you walk into the door. The sinks are moldy and filthy. Toilets are nasty. I don't think anyone ever cleans them.

Also, the grounds of the walking portion of the zoo and the parking lot have trash strewn around. I would recommend a couple of workers walking around regularly, cleaning up trash. I saw water bottles, Starbucks cups, juice boxes, fruit snack wrappers, just thrown I mean it's sad that the zoo portion was not kept spotless. Animals can eat those items if they go into their areas.

I beg someone to please give the bathrooms a deep cleaning. I had to hold my breath to wash my hands after feeding the animals, and I had to use the restroom but thought, heck no, it's worse than a gas station.

Lots of fun! Definitely worth the trip! We took the first bus trip out - only 8 of us on the bus, so we got to move all around and see all the animals from both sides. Then we rented the van and took the adventure on our own. Both very different experiences with lost of laughs! Too bad this site won’t let me post the hilarious videos!

By Jaf1591 |

this was our third visit to this attraction in the last 8 years. tisha was our driver on the bus and by far the best one we have had. we had 9 yr old boys and they had so much fun. everyone on the bus seemed delighted in the tour. it included a quick birthday song to a cute young lady. definitely worth the trip.

This was an experience for sure. We are a family of germaphobes so we felt WAY dirty when we left. I am glad we had the experience but now that we’ve had it we are done. Pricing is inconsistent from the website to store front. Rental vans are absolutely disgustingly dirty. Plan to go directly to the shower. Luckily we were staying at Callaway and went straight to get cleaned up. I can’t imagine going through and having a long car ride home.

Loved it! We stzyed at Calloway gardens for a couple nights and went to the Wild Animal Safari one afternoon. Easy to find, plenty of parking and the signage is good to direct you to the ticket as tand. Then things got confusing. Caitlyn was the cashier and with a mouth full of food it was impossible for her to speak, let alone answer questions or explain the park. We laughed it off and told her we had never been there how does it work? With a blank expression she pointed to the ticket sign. She wasn't rude, just indifferent.
We got 2 tickets then she asked if we were renting a car or using our own vehicle. Eventually we figured out we would ride the group bus and we were to wait in front of the yellow building. All good. We found it and the bus came by pretty quick. Jack was our driver, he was great. Very informative about the animals and the park. He told us to be sure and check out the walk about area or we would not have known it was there. Behind the gift shop are lions, tigers and more. I would like to see these animals have bigger enclosures but they all looked healthy. All in all it was great fun.

We had the best time. I highly recommend this experience. I had been before when my children were younger. This time I went with my daughter and her daughter that is five years old. I can't tell you who enjoyed it more. Feeding the animals was amazing. It will save miney to book online and go ahead and buy the food online. There was four of us and we bought the bag that had four bags of food in it and had leftover food.
Still a great deal for the money we did hand feed the animals.
Our bus driver was amazing!

We to a trip to Pine mountain to see Wild Animal Safari Park. This a great place to take the family and see wild animals roam free in a park, except for Lions. We arrived at their parking lot and notice many old vans for rent painted while with black strips. The vans have no side glass windows, instead have metal bars to prevent the animals from sticking their heads inside the van. We went inside their main office lobby where you purchase your tickets, rent the vans, and most important you buy the food you will be feeding the animals with (Big size pellets). You can buy them from individual to a 25pound bag. You can take your own vehicle or rent their vehicles or take a tour on one of their busses. With 550 animals, 75 species on 500 acres of land, you will have much to see, and enjoy yourself. The animals will be waiting for you as you cross the rolling pipes bridge. When you cross the bridge in your vehicle, they will try to stick their heads so you can feed them. Many of the animals will follow your vehicle. Once you have come back to the parking lot at the end of your trip, there is still more to see on foot. Next to their main building there are other animals like tigers, bears, mandrills, crocodile, reptiles and many more to see. You will be there at lease a good 3to 4 hours. The main building has an eatery and the gift shop next door. A great way to spend a day with wild animals.

We visited during the week when it wasn't busy at all. There was one lone person in the ticket office. We bought our ticket for the bus ride. We still had some time left so we walked around their caged areas to see the animals. Then we went on the bus ride. The bus driver (bless his heart) tried his best to keep the ride entertaining with his puns and jokes. There was only one other family on the bus so we had the animals all to ourselves. There were lots of animals to throw food at (mostly deer). All in all it's a pleasant experience but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place. You can't really pet and interact with any animals.

I took my family here expecting it to be a drive through a farm, which was nothing but wrong. I was very surprised by the size and variety of the animals that wandered around Wild Animal Safari. It is a great place to bring the family. If you go there, I highly recommend you rent a car, because mine got a little scratched up. I also got licked by a 12 inch tongue. Very fun.

By Season101 |

We were really excited to do this, and it didn’t disappoint. There were lots of animals, some of them quite close up, and in a natural habitat. However, be aware that parking is ridiculous, and you’re asked to park, buy tickets - and then, if you’re driving yourself through the park - you have to get back into your car and navigate a very tight parking area to get back in. This is so you can buy food for the animals, I’m sure, but still seemed very inefficient. Also, it’s EXTREMELY expensive as they charge per person (also hard to monitor if one person is buying tickets and others are waiting in the car). This makes sense for those who use their vehicles (open-air buses) but not so much when self-driven.

By TheSmiths770 |

Amazing experience! We rented their van - A MUST - and bought the family pack of food as others recommended. The animals were waiting at the entrance. Zebras, giraffes, a camel, buffalo, and elk and deer or all kinds came right up to be fed. Most fun we’ve had in a long, long time! And they even had good options at their cafe, including a salad. Highly recommend Wild Animal Safari for kids and kids at heart.

So cool. Tons of animals who slobber all over your car! $25+ per person, so $$. We spent the previous night at Great Wolf Lodge. Fun local vacay.

By Iamaspartan |

I've done the safari a couple times it was fun both times! Rent van do not drive your own vehicle . Animals will try to climb in the vehicle LOL!

We had a girls weekend with my daughters and granddaughters. We were at the park and took the first bus of the morning, the animals were happy to see us and our treats. Purchased the family pack of food at registration, it was plenty for 7 of us. our ride was about 70 minutes through the park, with great narration from our driver. We fed so many animals. Then took a tour through the walking part of the park, which had lots of animals who were in enclosures. Lions, tigers, bear, alligator, monkeys and so on, just like the zoo. Stopped for a snack and took another bus ride through the park. Admission allows for unlimited bus rides. The girls thought this was the best adventure.

This was our second time visiting. We all loved it! The chance to interact so closely with such creatures was awesome! The animals were so friendly and healthy looking! Thank you for the opportunity!

We had seen the billboards on the highway for this place for years but never stopped. Friends recommended we check it out and we finally did. It was SO MUCH FUN!! Get there right when they open and rent one of their cars to save your own from getting scratched up. Bring beach towels to sit on in your rented car and accept that it is going to be a bit messy but full of laughs. Hundreds of animals will be putting their adorable faces in your car to be fed. My 12 yr old son and I bought 4bags of food and it was the perfect amount for the 1 mi drive thru the safari. They also have a walk thru animal exhibit with some beautiful species. Will definitely be back. Staff was very nice and you will never get so close to such a wide variety of beautiful animals as you will here!

I decided at the last minute to visit this park. They open at 10:00am in the morning, so that is a great time to be there. The animals are still a little hungry and it's cooler than mid day when they are no longer interested in food and prefer to be in the shade. It had been raining for 4 days, so I expected to be walking in mud, but that wasn't the case. When you come into the park, you must park and walk to the visitation area. You have two choices.. to the right, you go the "walkabout" area. There are no signs, and no one is inclined to give you any. So, we went there first. The young lady checking tickets was less than helpful, and seemed troubled when asked "where do we go first? She begrudgingly pointed in the direction of fenced animals and cages of tigers, snakes, monkeys, chimps, goats and peacocks. The peacocks are the most personable. We browsed around a little, but frankly, nothing too exciting. We headed to the guided tour buses (which is included In your ticket price of $21.95 for adults,, $18.95 for children up to 12 and 2 and under are free). You must go thru the gift shop and on to the snack bar to purchase tickets. We got ours online (there is a bit of a discount when done this way, but you must get them 24 hours before you arrive). You can purchase animal feed for the tour. I recommend that you do so, it's fun for the kids to be able to toss these to the different kinds of animals. Some of them come up to the busses (deer, zebras, bison, hoofed and bigger creatures). The giraffes were not interested in coming out of the shade for our visit, but they had been fed and it was siesta time for them. Our tour guide got off the bus to try and temp them into coming down to the bus, but no go. No big deal, we could see them quite clearly and both of them are magnificent. We saw many baby deer (various breeds from all over Africa) goats and thousands of turtles. This entire visit can be done is about 2 hours if you are not trying to keep smaller children in tow. We did enjoy our visit, however, we all ( a 12 year old, an 18 year old and a senior) that it was a "one and done" excursion. The variety of food at the snack bar is limited and a bit pricey, $2.50 for a bottle of water.

We went here after a visit to Callaway Gardens! The drive through experience was wonderful! Animals looked healthy (for the most part, we say report an injured animal and the park immediately sent out a worker to address). However, the “walk about” experience needs to be vastly improved or shut down. Animals like the bears, cats and monkeys have much to small of enclosures and look downright depressed. All the park feeders (coin released treats) were empty. They have enough property and should make enough money to give these animals much better living conditions. Here are also lions that are caged in the drive through part of the park ... cages are much to small and the lion appeared very distraught. I’d like to see the “zoo” portion or caged animals in the walk about put into more natural and much larger enclosures. The animals on the drive through area have plenty of property and room to roam. The others just made us sad.

Wild Animal Safari is great fun for children of all ages!! Where else can you be so up close and personal and actually feed the animals. We were there on Friday, December 12th. This was our second trip with our grandchildren. We arrived when Wild Animal Safari opened at 10am which is best since it's less crowded and the animals are hungrier. We had previously purchased tickets and the animal food online. Check in was simple. The only big disappointment was that they do not run the buses except on Saturday and Sunday during the off season, so we opted to rent a van for $30.00 + tax. I expressed my displeasure that the website does not mention this. Nonethless I highly recommend that you NOT use your own vehicle as the animals bump into it and can scratch or dent it. The rental vehicles have bars to prevent animals from sticking their heads into the vehicle. Nonetheless we had a great time and highly recommend it as an outing.

Awful experience! I am going to highlight the reasons why I am giving them 1-star review:
-I bought 3 tickets online the previous day of my visit. Next day, I drove 2 hours to get there. When I got there, it was around 1:45pm, but I could not enter because they told me the park was at capacity. What? They asked me to come back around 3:30pm.
-I came back at 3:00pm, we got in the parking lot but a angry person told us to park our car, walk around the parking lot and go through the trails, get my tickets, come back to my car, drive down the parking lot and go find the path where the animal safari is.
-I thought I wouldn’t need my mask or anything else since this process shouldn’t take too long (Anyways I had my online ticket paper with bar codes only to being scanned for a staff member at the tickets station right?). I got out my car, walked an awfully long distance to get to the tickets station but guess what! I found 2 Log cabins (one yellow and one red) but no signs, not staff to help, so I did not know where to go. I tried to figure this out, but I was wrong because a nice person told me that for online tickets my cabin was the blue one which was on the very back of the yellow cabin (that’s why I couldn’t see it)
-I came down the path, I had to pass the yellow cabin (there was no other way to get to the blue cabin) then I got to a big parking lot and on the very back of that area finally I found the blue cabin. There was a restaurant in there. Outside this cabin there was a small tent with 2 young girls helping people to “check in” online tickets (ridiculous! ).
-I could not believe I had to be there to line up where there were around 50 people with no masks neither complying any social distancing rule (There were no staff to help). I was terrified to get infected since I did not bring my mask because I have never expected this process should take me too long.
-I was so disappointed but I did not have other option. I was not the only one person in line who were asking themselves why we must line up to check in online tickets and putting people lives in risk.
-After about 40 minutes waiting under the sun, I got to the tent where one of these two girls who were the only staff in handy asked me for my paper or cellphone to being scanned. She helped me to check in, gave me a receipt with a park brochure where it showed safety rules but not even a park map to guide visitors for the first time. I did not tell her anything about my awful experience so far because neither she nor the other staff girl were wearing masks at all (good example girls!)
- I came back to my car who was so far from where the tickets cabin and the entrance to the actual animal safari was. Finally, my husband tried to drove down to the parking lot, but a staff guy told us to get out, go around, and go to the main entrance to enter again. WHAT?? It was incredible that they didn’t have another way to enter to the safari path because if I try to drive down the parking lot, I should hit other cars who were coming in since it was a one-way road (crazy!) I cannot imagine if there was an emergency what could have happened to us!
-I got out, go to the Oak Grove Rd, line up to enter to the park again! Then I saw a staff guy was putting a wood barricade on the entrance. I said to myself “oh no now it only remains they don’t allow us to enter again because it is at full capacity”! Luckily, a staff guy told us I could enter with no problem since I showed him my receipt. When I got to the entrance, I realized one side of the fence was opened and the other closed. I could not enter through the open one since there were a lot of cars coming out from the park. I wait until it was clear so we could enter safely! Ufff!! Finally, because I learned where was the right entrance to the actual safari path, I showed my husband where to go so we finally get there! There was another gate and one girl approached my car and asked me to show my receipt. I could not believe we were coming into our animal safari adventure after so many steps, trips over, and disappointments.
-Our tour was good, and the animals were so amazing, everything was good, and my family enjoy this trip.
-However, I cannot believe how bad is the administration, management, and customer service from this place! The only thing they had to do is control how many people were entering to the park every day to avoid telling them to come back, that is rude and anti-professional. Also, they have to have the right technology and devices to scan customers online tickets instead to ask them to park far from where the cabins are, line up during these pandemic situation, no applying any safety rule to avoid infection, and then ask them to get out from the place to enter again to get into the safari path. This is ridiculous and it does not make sense at all!
-The views and the animals were amazing, but the management is so awful and disrespectful with customers. I would close this place to improve it and then open it again with more safety rules, better technology, management, and coordination between employees!

I am disturbed by the bad reviews I am reading following our trip to the Pine Mountain GA Zoo! I do not concur with them at all! We found this drive thru Zoo to be amazing!! It was a once in a lifetime experience that we will treasure forever! The property is hundreds of acres and there was plenty of natural grounds for the animals from shaded tree areas to a lake, streams and furrows. We have been to many Zoos and this one was much nicer than others we visited! Especially as the animals roam free in their own natural habitat simular to what you see in the State Parks out West. The animal areas were clean and spacious! The animals come to the cars because of the treats you are feeding them! What animal wouldnt? We didn't find the animals to be obese except the ones that are naturally that way such as buffalo. You shouldn't let others reviews scare you from the enjoyment and excitement this Zoo brings to families! Our teenage kids loved this place as did we! I highly recommend and will tell everyone about it!! Loved it!

Once in a lifetime experience! To feed animals from your hand that would normal not get close to people and from your own vehicle! The walk-about was fun as well, clean facility, friendly staff. A bit pricey for only about a 2 hour experience but made a great lasting family memory.

By PennyW5 |

A bunch of us Senior Citizens Center went on this fun trip!! We all had such a ball!! We were given a plastic glass of food to feed the wild animals. From then on the laughs began and lingered as each one of the wild animals came up to our open window bus soliciting food. We were slobbered on and nibbled on politely as we fed these animals. Our bus driver laughed along with us as well. I would thoroughly recommend this trip to everyone who loves animals.

We had some family in from out of town and were looking for something fun to do, and we found it. The staff are great, the animals are entertaining and enjoyable, and it definitely made some memories from the 3 year old to the 67 year old and everyone in between. The only disappointment was the walk through area. I’m an avid animal lover and hate seeing exotic big cats and primates in small enclosures. Truthfully, in my opinion, I wouldn’t be hurt if that area went away. We still would have had a smile from ear to ear when we left. Notes—-for 25-35 bucks, use their cars. I was dying watch $50k suvs getting scraped up by hooves and horns in front of and in back of our rental van. Also, you can’t buy enough food, more food=more entertainment. At least a bag a person.

By cincinmax |

We rented one of the vans to drive and great the animals. Sooooo much fun. We fed them from the van right out the window. Great place to visit for the young and old!!!

By RunSukeeRun |

We rented a large van so there would be plenty of room to move around inside and feed all the animals. The windshield and rear window are the only windows that have glass, the side windows only have bars to keep the animals out. Get plenty of food. You will have amazing animal encounters all the way through the self guided enclosure. Some animals have long tongues that can get pretty far inside the van. Great fun for all ages. Take some old towels and enjoy!

This was a fun attraction. My husband and I were in Pine Mountain for our Anniversary weekend and we stopped here on our way home. We had a blast and we will definitely be back with our grandkids, they would love it ! There were vans you could ride in, cars for rent, or you can go in your own vehicle which is what we did and we had no problems at all, just a little slobber on the windows. It's definitely worth the trip if you're anywhere close.

By Robbie B |

It was so much fun! I have never laughed so hard. We drove our own car, and with the windows down, the animals would put their heads in the car. Drool was falling in my lap and I couldn’t control my laughter.

We took our boys here often when they were little. Today we took them as adults. We drove our own car and had a GREAT time! We fed a ton of animals and saw them up close. The Walkabout was great as we got to see a lot of cool animals up close and personal.

By Jessica M |

Very fun! My 4 year old loved it! Especially fun if you have a sun roof for the giraffes! 2 bags of food is plenty for the 3 mile ride. We drive our own vehicle and it was just perfect, no issues at all.

By Tunisia W |

I LOVED THE FACT THAT, there are TONS of animals living together here that would not normally live together in their natural habitats. This place was fabulous. I had a VERY pleasant experience on the bus, I’m glad me and my children got on the bus. It helped us learn some fun facts and really enjoy the tour as well as feeding the animals.

There is a small portion of the tour, whether you drive or hop on the zebra bus where the lake is to the left of the road, and a deep crater to the right and the road has NO GUARD RAILS! I would’ve NEVER Been able to drive across that portion of the road without passing out. FOR ME it’s frightening, but if you aren’t nervous about stuff like that, no worry. Just thought I’d add that in there.

The walk about was fun. Loved feeding the goats!

So many animals! Fun for kids and adults! Animals come right to your car. Caution your car will need washed of slobber!

You can buy food to feed them fairly inexpensive. They know you have food and will get in the car with you if you'd let them. Laughed the entire time!

If you don't want your car to get dirty you can ride in one of the facilities vans.

I'm 53 and ready to go again!

This was a side trip and well worth it. Took our car through as the rental vans were on an hour and a half wait. Tickets were a little more than expected but figured it was for a cause. Bought 2 bags of food, and it was all gone in the end. Beware....the animals stick their heads and long tongues in the windows and slobber goes everywhere !! It was a bit startling at first but fun. A nice drive through, saw many baby deer and a litter of newborn pigs. We enjoyed the walk about zoo. Yes it does seem confining to the animals but they all appear to be well taken care of. The peacocks roaming about were a real treat, great pictures. The highlight was a month old giraffe that allowed petting. He was fed while we were there, the keeper was very knowledgeable and friendly to share information. The baby was born there and had to be removed from mother because she is not a good mother, this was her 3rd calf. This was a grandparents trip with 2 ten year old boys. We all had a good 3 hours.

We did the Walkabout 1st the animals looked hot and miserable there was not any water for them. The wolves looked like they had the mange or something. The animals cages was over grown with grass. The workers was very rude when we questioned the animals care. Then we went to the ride through it was nice seeing all the different types of animals HOWEVER ! They looked awful as well they was very hot and some of the buffalo u could see their bones. Although there is a pond at the end, none of the animals had proper drinking water near them. The tiger was in a cage and the grass was over grown. At times we questioned if some of the animals was alive due to them just laying in the hot sun and not moving

I want SO bad to give this place a 5 STAR review!! I have to review with pure honesty and transparency. I use online reviews almost always, and I much appreciate transparency. That being said I have to be lengthy & categorize my ratings.

0 Stars- on the bathroom. It is disgusting!! In my opinion, this responsibility lies completely on the owner/manager. I did not capture an image of the floors (as I should have) because I was so shocked. There is one public restroom with about 8-10 stalls. The stalls, floors, counters was disgusting, and smelled worse than anything I've ever smelled. With the volume of visitors (we witnessed over 300 people or more just during the couple of hours we were there) this owner or manager should have a full-time bathroom attendant. Your patrons do not deserve to deal with this simply trying to wash up and get clean. You should also be using something to help with the smell ie: potpourri. These bathrooms were a complete nightmare, my kids were traumatized!

Everything else- 4 1/2 Stars. The phone call that morning, and service and advice I received over the phone was wonderful. Nice people we dealt with. The animals were a blast. The 15 passenger van we rented was fine. The vans are gross and don't have any outlets, side mirrors, etc etc, but that is to be expected in our opinion. It was fun, a lot of fun. We would go back based on all of our other experiences. It is expensive, but we still saw value based on our experience. We paid $168.00 with taxes and all for 2 adults and 3 children we paid for. This included all the food, and the larger private rental for the van.

I asked many friends advice before going & they explained their experience. Based on that & now my experience I would say: The earlier you go to opening time, the better. Rent a private van (the larger one because the kids can move as needed) take towels for clean up and slobbery animals, baby wipes, hand sanitizer. I would not recommend taking your own vehicle through here.

The only thing that did bother me about the animals was a baboon exhibit in the walk about area. People were literally bothering/harassing this poor animal, and he was extremely emotional to the point that he was freaking out and banging on the metal bars. I don't think all animals are cut out for this type of thing. It was a bit sad for us.

Also, I would never step foot in their bathroom again, unless I was assured by management that they now clean them.

Awesome experience! We had children from 9 years old to 1 year old, and they all enjoyed our visit. The staff was super friendly, and so were the Animals. This is the total Zoo experience.

By Robert B |

We had a ball riding through the grounds in a rented van! This place was awesome! Never done anything like this before .... it was great! All the animals were so gentle taking food from all of us! The animals 🦓🐪🦒🐖🦌 were amazing! We hope to visit again soon! We recommend this place to everyone before or after visiting Callaway Gardens!

I took my daughter and two granddaughters here and it was worth the price. Large animals came right up into our car!! Literally poking their heads into any open window and gaping mouths open for food nuggets. Zebras are just the right height. Deer, many kinds in groups. Pigs, rams, ox, moose, water buffalo, big birds. The giraffes are beautiful and the American Buffalo are fascinating. Camels, entertaining, with big teeth. I drove really slow, stopping often, moved over for other vehicles to pass and we saw a lot of critters doing what they do. Wonderful!

By ef852015 |

Went with family. Definitely rent the van. Animals can be very aggressive into vehicle...bars on rental Van's stopped that. Slobber from animals would not be good for personal car. Was nice time, we got the family pack of food and worked well. Some of animals are huge and stand in your way. We loved it!

By MadamDefargeGW |

The vans really are necessary, as I don't think you could get some of the animals out of your car, if they got their heads in.

I have been to at least 7 Safari parks in the US: All are different and all have their own personalities.

There are an enormous number of different breeds of animals in this part, and you can even feed the zebras. However, it is unfortunate that it is obvious that these animals are not as well taken care of as in most of the other parks. Many have at least one limp leg from having been run over. Instruction on how to get the animals to move without hurting them would be recommended.

That being said, my grand daughter and I spent two very fun (despite 105 degree heat index) days feeding many, many animals. They were generous with their time allowances going through the park, and we enjoyed every minute of it.

They do have some of the biggest, tamest buffalos I've ever encountered.

If you're in Atlanta, make time to go the Safari Park, it's only about 30 minutes away.

A place for families and friends to experience a safari game park in Oregon. The guided tours enhance the experience but the solo drive through is also a thrill. Don't skip the Safari Village. Animals like the Maned Wolf, lemurs and flamingos are just some of the exhibits inside. They also have a restaurant, restrooms and a gift shop. If you don't like waiting in long lines, October is a beautiful time of year to visit. Wild turkeys and geese are in abundance and the fall foliage makes the drive even more pretty.

We really enjoyed our visit to Wild Animal Safari! If you go, I highly recommend renting a van for the drive through portion. We chose not to and I was quite nervous about animals damaging our car. It did not occur to me some of the animals would jump on the cars or there would be a danger of horns or antlers scraping the vehicle. So definitely rent the van from the park!!! Also, the rental Van's have bars that would prevent the animals from sticking their whole head in the vehicle. I never thought of zebras as intimidating...until they surrounded our car and all I could see were their giant teeth and tongues!! Don't let that scare you - no one in our car was injured and the animals were never roughly aggressive. Just intimidating.

Ration out your food!!!! We got 4 bags for 4 people, and we were nearly out of food at the 3/4 mark. We did not ration. When you first enter the park, you are literally swarmed with zebras and giraffes and various types of deer. They ALL want your food. Resist the urge to unload most of your supply at the beginning!!! You'll feel bad halfway through when all the sweet pigs, water buffalo, bison, and baby deer want something to eat and you've got nothing.

My one complaint about this park is that some of the animals do NOT have enough space. The lion enclosure, in particular, was really depressing. It's in the drive through portion and they have a very tiny amount of space. The lions did not seem happy or content in any way.

Overall, this was a good experience and my family had fun.

By Teresa B |

I went here first a couple years ago with my siblings and husbands/wife and know we had to take the grandkids. We took them a couple weeks ago and it was so awesome! There faces; the excitement of the animals coming right up to them! This was something different. You can always find somewhere to hike, swim, or ride rides. Great experience for all. Oh and yes we rented one of you mini vans.

By Caitlin S |

I have mixed feelings about this facility. Small children absolutely love it because they get to see exotic animals in person and up close and that in itself is exciting for kids. But as a wildlife rehab specialist and animal lover it’s difficult for me to justify the living conditions and the overall daily routine this facility provides for the animals. I’ve seen worse in other parts of the world, but this isn’t a realistic way to show people how these animals typically live and function. I will not be going back and I will not be recommending that others visit and support this facility sadly.

By Guide32613373736 |

When we arrived we were taken care of quickly. Received our SUV rental and off we went. We all thoroughly enjoyed driving through the exhibit and laughed so much. The animals do come right up to the vehicle and stick as much of their head in it so you can feed them. We really enjoyed that part of the experience. Didn't really care for the walkabout that much as it's small but I do understand that most of the experience is the drive thru safari. Buy your tickets online because it is a little cheaper. A little pricey but I do realize that there are many animals to take care of. Would definitely do the drive thru safari again.

By Pascale S |

This is not a place off the beaten path. It is located in a beautiful area in Pine Mountain. The very first thing we would suggest, as it was suggested to us by people that have been before...........RENT one of their vehicles. It is well worth the money.
Give yourself at least 2 hours at the park. Most of it you will spend on the drive feeding and seeing the animals. There is a small "zoo" set up, however, it doesn't take long to go through.

By sausageballs |

Not saying the kids didn’t have a few moments of fun, but it was INCREDIBLY expensive for what it was. And what it was is two main types of animals - deer things and cow things. Oh, and one camel in a fence. So after a few minutes it’s rather underwhelming. And then the “zoo” section is very small and a little depressing.

By renadriggers |

We rented a van for the family , it was fun my Granddaughters enjoyed feeding the animals. The Animals was hanging all around the van & feeding them was great. Neat day at the Safari, ( even though ) it was raining we had a great time. Need some Guard Rails on the Lake it was washing away in some spots. Other than this we enjoyed our time & will be back. The walk about was fun.

By parfourrick |

It was a cool visit, lots of animals to see and feed. We rented a minivan which was a good choice. It was beat up and dirty but don’t even think of using your personal car. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, this is not a fashion statement. Be sure and purchase a slobber towel, we used it. Taking pictures of the animals and the girls was a hoot. Gets HOT in the summer, be prepared. Good family thing!

By Janet C |

I enjoyed seeing the animals up close and personal and they seem to be well cared for and fed. I have taken a group from Japan here twice and they seemed to enjoy also.

By Shayla F |

While the overall experience was enjoyable—especially getting to see the animals up close—I left feeling uneasy about the animals' well-being. It raised a lot of questions for me. For example, the safari drive-thru was great, but I couldn’t help wondering why the animals seemed so eager for the food pellets. Are those pellets their only source of nutrition? I wish there was more upfront information about this to clarify how it is targeted.

If the experience had only included the drive-thru, I would have likely given it five stars. However, the walk-through section was concerning. The lions and tigers are kept in what appear to be extremely small enclosures. I've now visited twice with out-of-town guests, and both times the white tiger was pacing in the exact same spot—something that didn’t sit right with me. It’s hard to believe those enclosures meet their physical or mental needs.

If I’m wrong, I genuinely welcome clarification. I even reached out via email to express my concerns about this but received a generic response that failed to address the issue. That just left me wondering: how is it legal—or even ethical—to keep animals of that size in such confined spaces? At the end of the day these animals have no voices and are being cared for by people who run businesses, so I can imagine money talks when it comes to the quality of care being given.

I just wanted to write a review on their fabulous customer service. All the other reviews about the animals coming up to your car are true. It was super fun. But my review is a little different.
My son thought he lost his wallet. Went up to the counter, looked everywhere Etc... we realized that it could have only been lost in the van that we rented. But it was a busy day, so our van went back out immediately. They took down my son's phone number and said they would call when the van came back. Luckily we had not left the park yet because we wanted to go on the walk about area. So instead of waiting over an hour for the van to come back, they sent out one of their workers in the tiger truck, which they say has the right of way at all times. Anyway, the worker went out and found the van, and lo and behold the wallet was in the van. I think that is going above and beyond. We were so thankful. I love this place and we will definitely come back.

By TDN |

It's gross. It's fun. It's memories that will last forever.

As for the gross: We read the negative reviews and it's pretty much as described in terms of how dirty it is. But...IT'S AN ANIMAL SAFARI where you feed animals from a car! We're not talking about a trip to Disney or a stay at the Ritz. The animals don't brush their teeth and they play in the mud - because they are animals. As a result, the cars are indeed gross but it was awesome (and we'd highly recommend the
$25 bucks to rent their vans). The rams and bulls didnt think twice about showing the side mirrors who was boss. The sheep would just assume jump in the car with you:) And yes, all their saliva was thick, stringy, and plentiful. Got a 1985 Ford Bronco that hasnt been restored? Go for it. Drive anything else? Just rent the nasty van. The bathrooms smelled but were clean and had plenty of soap to washup after the slobberfest.

As for the fun: We havent laughed that hard in a long time. Hand-feeding giraffes, bison, deer, zebras, ostriches, donkeys, and more was way out of our element. For an undistracted hour the thoughts of work, video games, texting friends, and baseball tournaments disappeared. Plenty of opportunities abound in getting a truly perfect selfie! After the drive-through we took the time to do the walk-through as well (it's included). Pretty much a mini-zoo but it was fun to unwind before we got back in our car.

We arrived on a Friday right at 10am and had no problems getting a car and our animal food. We bought 5 bags for our family of 5 and it was enough. One unexpected perk of getting there when it opened was the heat hadnt set in just yet. I imagine the vans could get pretty hot the later it gets. We bought our tickets online which isn't really necessary but we did save a couple of dollars.

Go for it...

This is by far one of the best and most unique experiences I’ve had in my life time. To be that close and feed these majestic creatures from your hand is something I will never forget. Do rent their car though to avoid damage to yours. The animals put their heads in the car through bars and some will even put their feet up on the doors.

By A9792DEgregb |

Always a hit with our friends. We've taken our exchange students there from France and Australia. It is a fun time and well worth the two hours to do it.

By Lashellg1984 |

I traveled other safaris before and love them. I liked this one but was average. Had a nice selection of animals. Fun to feed and interact with animals. Was fun driving zebra van even though vans were very very dirty and smelly. The walkabout part was a bit more run down. Even though had a good selection of animals, most exibits made it hard to see the animals. Me and my family was the only visitors there which wasnt a bad thing.

By TathyK123 |

It is a sensational experience. see the immense animals passing by his window asking for food. It's a feeling of being on a safari in Africa. One word of advice: rent the Safari car. first because it has grilles and the animals get closer and according to the animals' horns can scratch your car. Must visit the peacocks at the zoo attached.

By mloudy |

We had a fabulous time. Definitely rent the van and get more food than you think you need. I would not want to take my personal car through it. And we ran out of food before we knew it. I would go back in a heart beat.

By David H |

Really enjoyed this attraction. Get a bag of food and drive your own car or rent one of their vans. I didn't do the bus but it did not look like the bus experience would be nearly as as good since you are several feet above most of the animals with limited access.

By asmorrison2009 |

We had 4 adults and 4 young kids. All of us had a great time, and want to come back! Glad we rented a van instead of taking our own vehicle through the safari. The animals really get up close and personal! You may be glad to bring baby wipes for when you’re done!

By Renee N |

Although I had been here before when my kids were little it was just as much fun as two adults going back. We rented a small van and were able to go at our own pace and feed and interact with so many animals!! I felt like a kid again! My only suggestion to other travelers is to buy more food than you think you will need! It's so hard to resist those cute faces on the drive. All of the staff were also very polite and knowledgeable! I will definitely come again! Thank you so much for a fun day!

By JoNanie |

“SO much fun!!!” according to my 7 year old grandson, who is generally not tossing out rave reviews. Highly recommend renting a van…it’s part of the adventure. Animals come right up to your van and the bison stick their tongue right in for their crunchy treats. A lot of laughing!

By Mimideb |

5 Stars for an amazingly fun Family trip! I do hope the animals are rescued and wouldn’t be able to survive in their natural habitat. Screaming fun for everyone! I was surprised that people DO NOT follow social distancing guidelines. The website clearly stated for a group representative (1) to enter and to practice 6 ft. social distancing. Groups of 4 or more were checking in and reserving vans, entering & exiting from the same door and the restrooms had too many to count. 1 Star for reinforcing written guidelines.

By Amber M |

We love the animal safari! RENT A VAN! The animals will dent and scratch your vehicle. The walk thru zoo has lots of animals the bigger zoos don’t have. The only reason for the 4 star is bc the restrooms were terrible. Other wise this is a great adventure!

By MrsPeal |

I had actually driven there to go to this "park" actually as far as the parking lot, then was so glad I read the "story" behind it in the car, and who built it. It was a BIG GAME HUNTER ( Ron Snider, a world-renowned big game hunter), who consulted with, not animal experts or zoologists, but other BIG GAME HUNTERS to design the "safari". That's probably what happened to all of the animals, and why everyone says that there is little there. They probably killed them all. 500 acres? What are they doing with all of the land that you don't see? Hunting? I am not surprised at the negative reviews as to the state of the place and the missing animals. Do people like that really care about animal welfare? Spend your money somewhere else, and do your research before you do. HISTORY: History of the Park History of the Park

We chose to take a bus ride through the park. We were able to see most of the animals this way, and we did not have to worry about damaging our car. They also had cars you could rent, but they had cages on the windows and no air conditioning. The bus did not have air conditioning either, but the there was a nice breeze. We bought a family pack of food and were unable to use it all. It was a lot of food. If you want to feed the ostriches, then place the food pellets in the window sill. That was fun to watch. My 8 year old son also loved feeding the giraffe by holding a pellet in his mouth. It was so so hot when walking around the exhibits, but the monkeys were super fun to watch. The baby giraffe was a favorite and let us pet him/her. That was my favorite part.

By rjwebbinnh |

We drove our own car and went first thing when they were all hungry. It was fun to feed them (one bag was plenty for the 2 of us). We drove around twice. There was one very thin grazer with a bad leg, clearly in need of help and one grazer with a mouth injury. The zoo part needs a lot of help...all the animals showed signs of stress (constant pacing, one monkey rocking with a stuffed animal). The cages are too small and very old school. The tigers were VERY thin and the lions need activities to do. Please do a gofundme or invest more money back into the park.

My family and I came to visit while staying at the Great Wolf Lodge. 🚨 RENT A SAFARI VAN! This zoo was worth every penny! We live near Disney and this zoo was way longer and more beautiful then the safari at Animal Kingdom. The staff were very nice. The drive-thru habitat was just beautiful. The giraffe and zebras were my favorite! I cannot believe how close they were. Very well nourished animals. It must be very expensive keeping this zoo and gas for all the vans and jeeps. $30 to rent the safari van. Be prepared to sit in an animal van. Meaning very dirty. Like muddy. No AC or windows. Protected with bars so that the animals don’t invade your space. We also ate and shopped. So make sure to get the pallet animal food and rent a safari van. My son called it the Jurassic Park van. So fun!

By Dana S |

My family was looking for a little getaway to Columbus. When looking for activities I came across the wild animal safari. What a blast. While a bit pricey (depending on how many people in your family) it was well worth the price. To have animal come to you car window and be so gentle , it was surreal. Even my “I am
Afraid of everything” daughter was laughing and feeding the animals. The pictures I took are priceless!

If in the Columbus area, this is a must see.

By Idit S |

The place is filthy!!!! The cars are a mess and the bathrooms haven't been cleaned in ages! Don't even think about eating there. It was fun to be this close to the animals. Make sure to bring wipes.

By beachlover2713 |

We absolutely loved it! We took the tour bus and had a great time. The giraffes weren't very active so that was disappointing. The walkabout was a lot smaller than we hoped and some of the animals were whimpering for food. Seemed a little underfed in that part. The drive thru made up for all of that though! My 4yr old son had a blast feeding the animals. We will return!

By NewtLamb |

We thought this park was going to be just for kids but we loved it! Super cool being able to feed the animals and see them up close. And is just long enough to enjoy and no he bored. It's not a huge park--rustic and very kid (big or small kids) friendly.

By Janna64 |

We went here as a non-traditional activity on Thanksgiving. What memories we have....It was GREAT!!! We loves seeing all the animals and feeding so many that walked right up to our car and begged for a bite of the animal food you can purchase. It is such a unique place and we have a such a great time. I don't think we have ever fed so many animals in one day. If I was back in this area, I totally would do this again. My 8 year old granddaughter loved it and so did my kids in their 20s. I think it is great for anyone who likes animals

By Anne |

Awesome time. Raining but the animals didn’t care. Up close to many different animals. Got slobber on which was even funnier! Suggest not to take your own car! Ram gets mad if you don’t give him all the treats!

By Sarah |

TRIP OF A LIFE TIME! My fiancé and I took a weekend trip to Pine Mountain. I had been wanting to go to the safari for a while and we planned it. BEST THING EVER! These animals are amazing! So much fun. I recommend you use one of their vehicles and buy more feed than you think you might need. You’ll want to feed all of them!

By Laura L |

Worth every penny. Buy a bag of food for each passenger. Bring your own slobber towels. Rent their vehicles to keep yours safe. They have bars on the open windows so the animals can't put their entire head in. Also they slobber a little bit and we saw a ram jump up against a vehicle ahead of us. Get there when it opens.

By THE-TW0-BEES |

Every time our family comes to visit, one of the first things they want to do is "go to the safari!" They have so much fun with the animals and I have so much fun watching and listening to them laugh. It's a great time. Unfortunately, when you have a large group, you may have to split up among more than one mini van/bus and the price can get quite expensive. Buy tickets online for a discount and pack a picnic lunch. I would not suggest taking your own vehicle into the safari, the animals can unknowingly do some serious damage to automobiles. Take a towel to sit on if you do rent one of their vans/buses and take some WET WIPES! You'll need them. :)

By ophiacus46 |

Let me start by saying I'm not a huge fan of petting zoos or even animals but my wife and daughter love both. It took us about an hour to drive through this attraction and it was really cool. We had all sorts of animals sticking their heads into our car to be hand fed. They slobber a lot but it was still fun. Hint: be sure to rent one of their vans; the billie goats tend to put their hoofs into the car door, lol.

By griffinp5595 |

I always enjoy a trip through here, feeding the animals. My only complaint is the food is a little pricey.

By TwinkleShiningStar |

Took the family here...had a lot of fun. you can really get close to the animals. The staff was helpful. Some of the animals looked sick or abused. We did the option to rent the van. Opted out of buying the slobber towel. Overall, cool experience

By lulubelle652 |

We drove an older car, built like a tank, so we could have a more personal experience driving thru the animal safari. The animals really get up close and personal and will stick their heads into the vehicle to beg for food and attention. They are all so friendly. We were told not to feed certain animal close up, as they may bite. We were slobbered on, the car was slobbered on, but we had fun seeing the animals. A few of the animals looked as if they could use a stylist to comb out their hair. The large animals will always have the right away...you may have to scatter some food to the sides, to get them to move. The baby animals are so adorable. You must purchase the large pellet type food when you purchase your ticked. It's all worth it. After the safari, take a walk thru their walk about zoo. Also very enjoyable. Recommendation: Don't wear a floral shirt and get close to the baby giraffe...I did! My girlfriend wanted to take a picture of my husband and I and the giraffe must have thought that my top would be good to eat. The giraffe began to nibble on my sleeve on my left side and was chewing on it and slobbering. It took a little convincing that I wanted my shirt back. My friend took pictures the whole time of this funny experience.

Children of all ages (up to 100) would find this to be a fun experience.

By Lisa P |

What an amazing time we had! First rent a car to go through the safari. They offer them at a very reasonable rate and you won’t mind getting slobber in it. lol. Next either purchase a slobber rag or bring one with you! Most important be prepared to buy food to feed the animals. More is better! It is well worth it! After the safari don’t forget to go walk through the other exhibits. You may want to save a little food from the safari to feed the goats. :). Also they do offer more personalized visits with animals. We did the sloth encounter and really enjoyed it! The prices were very reasonable. The staff was patient and kind. Don’t miss out on this!

By Zana B |

As advised we arrived early and opted for the bus tour, which was included in the ticket price. Our driver/guide Jack was entertaining and educated us about the animals we were seeing and the safest way to feed them. And yes, the animals did come right up to the windowless bus for their snacks. Definitely bring your camera and hand sanitizer.

The Walk About contains an interesting variety of animals, but overall the area needs a face lift. Several of the cages seem small and some do not have signage, or the printing is small and hard to read. Bring quarters, or you will be out of luck in terms of being able to feed some of the animals,as food can only be purchased from coin operated dispensers.

It is worth the travel to get to Wild Animal Safari, but be aware there is very little road signage.

By debbieinga2015 |

Animals stick their faces through the bars of the van windows, and open their mouths to get food. The two of us had four bags of food and we went through it all. Do not use you own car, the animals bump the vehicle with their horns. It was not busy the day we went and we were able to take our time through the park -the drive was about an hour. The "walkabout" was fun too.

By Amber H |

We have visited Wild Animal Safari in the past and enjoyed our experience. However, I was very disappointed by my visit this weekend. I was hoping a mostly outdoor experience would be a safe treat for my family, but I was mistaken. If you take COVID safety protocols seriously, skip Wild Animal Safari for the time being.

1. Not a single staff member was masked. Not in the gift shop, not in the ticketing area, not in the van rental space. I did not visit the cafe area so I cannot speak to masking among food service staff.

2. Less than 50% of guests were masked. Normally I would not count this against the business, except there were no signs anywhere recommending masking and masks were not required on the crowded tour bus or inside the areas you are required to enter to purchase tickets or get to the walking tour.

3. There were no limits to the number of guests allowed in any area at any time. The ticketing area was very crowded and there were no reductions in the number of guests allowed on the tour bus to allow for social distancing.

4. If you are COVID-conscious, rent a van. The wait for a rental was 1.5 hours when we visited during a busy part of the day, but we were able to wait it out in the walk about. Here is where I awarded one star, because the van was much cleaner than vans we have rented in the past. I brought my own cleansing wipes since we had children in our party who are not yet vaccinated. Since there are no windows in the van and air is free-flowing, the actual tour through the park felt fairly safe.

In summary, the only acknowledgement that we are experiencing a pandemic from the Safari itself came from a sign in the bathroom recommending hand washing, hand sanitizer for sale in the gift shop, and a sign in the gift shop asking people to social distance when waiting at the register, which was laughable when none of the register staff were even wearing masks. Our family enjoys this park in normal times, but were very disappointed with their lack of concern for staff and guests on this trip.

We visited Animal Safari with our 5year old. She loved it and so did we. We rode the bus through Safari and fed the animals. We also went to the small zoo area. and visited the concession stand. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the experience was a lot of fun.

We took 3 grandchildren to the Safari. We rented a van there and loaded ourselves up with a crate of food and headed out on an adventure that had animals of all sorts running to us and opening their mouths in anticipation of that food. It was one hour of giggles, laughter and delightful loud chatter and animal greetings. We drove 6 hours round trip in order to visit this place and when I asked the grands (Ages 6, 12 and 14) if they were glad we did it, the response was, "Yes!!!". And these were grands that travel world wide that include numerous adverntures/experiences.

We took the kids down to Wild Animal Safari and arrived around 1:30. We'd bought our tickets online the night before, so at least we didn't pay full price for this disappointing experience. We were lured there by advertisements showing the various animals approaching the cars, some even putting their heads through the windows and eating out of people's hands, but that is nothing like what we experienced. Only two animals came anywhere near the car and that was only because we drove by where they happened to be standing. No animals ate the food we'd purchased. In fact, there were piles of the food just laying around the animals where people had thrown it.
I've since read in other reviews that you have to get there early before the animals are full, or they'll have zero interest in you in the afternoon.
This was not worth the expense or the drive from Atlanta, and I wish we'd arrived when they opened at 10, as that seems to provide a much more enjoyable day.

We had such a great time with extended family. The vans were able to accommodate all of us and it was so much fun. We had all age ranges from 1 year old to 50 years.

By Ashlee S |

The safari was a very cool experience! Definitely rent a van as the animals will try to get in your car to get feed, and I saw a few people get their cars scratched up, because they didn't want to pay for a van. We definitely did not realize how long the drive was and used 3/4 of our food before getting a 1/4 of the way in! The kids loved the experience and being so close to the animals. I am an amateur photographer, and got some really awesome photos on the tour. After they have a small walk around park as well.

Our family really enjoyed our visit to the Wild Animal Safari Park. We have seen the advertisements for this park along I-85 for many years, but never had the chance to visit. We decided to make this a day trip when the grandkids were visiting this summer. We had so much fun and we all enjoyed the park, our ages ranging from 4-63. We rented one of their 15 passenger vans to accommodate our big family. So glad we did, the animals come running up from all directions to be fed. We purchased our tickets and food to feed the animals and had to wait for a van to become available before we could go through the safari park. We were there early and still had a 30 minute wait.

We had so much fun feeding the animals and laughing at how friendly the animals were and their antics begging for the food. These animals are up close and personal! Watch out for the llamas, they like to spit back at you. I got spit on twice. Everyone in the van was moving away from them so they wouldn't get spit on. We were in the drive thru part for at least an hour, taking our time taking it all in. The baby deer and other animals blended in so well with the environment, we just liked trying to see them in their natural habitat. After the safari we did the walking tour of the other animals. They have lots of different animals to view there. This is where the baby giraffe is. There was someone there who told us his story and how they come to get him. Don't overlook this section, and hang on to your ticket, you need it to enter.

In reading through some of the other reviews, I was a little hesitant on using the restrooms there. Personally I thought the bathrooms were okay, could have been a little cleaner perhaps, but there are a lot of people in and out washing their hands. I have been in worse restrooms, but for the price you pay for admission, you would expect them to be clean and trash emptied often throughout the day, especially on the weekends when they are busier.

We did not eat at the restaurant, so no comment there. There are plenty of picnic tables with great views of the animals. Most are in shaded areas if you choose to use. Most people were just sitting in this area looking at the animals or waiting for the next available van.

Great day trip from metro Atlanta and the surrounding areas. Really suggest you allow 3-4 hours to enjoy. They also offer military discounts at this attraction if you're eligible. Would have given this a 5 star, but our van was in need of repairs. Our engine kept dying every time we stopped, so we would have to start it every time we stopped. Luckily it started, just really annoying! Brakes needed some attention too!

We took our granddaughter on our first safari this weekend. There was so much laughter and squealing. The animals were very well fed and it was fun to get so close to them.

We took our daughter and her friend on Saturday May 16. We arrived around 11:00 (an hour after opening). We purchased tickets online but still had to stand in line to proceed. Their website (which I looked at carefully before deciding to go) stated that only 1 member of each party would be allowed In the ticket area. When we arrived there were people everywhere. I entered the building to redeem the online tickets (an unnecessary step) and there were tons of people inside. All members of groups in line. No social distancing except for the last few feet before you got to the desk where they had the floor taped off. Then there was the walk through- complete disregard for walking through at a safe distance. Traffic passing through in both directions. So then comes the drive through. The vans were already booked for 2 plus hours and despite the website saying there would be no more than 10 people on a bus, the buses were packed. We chose to drive our car through because of this. All in all our kids had fun but there website was completely false in regards to their efforts to keep the public safe. Beware.

My wife and I visited for the first time Saturday September 22nd to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. We arrived just before opening as we had read reviews to get in line early. That was good advice! We opted to rent one of the facility’s vans rather than using our own, again, good choice! The small hoofed animals jumped up on the sides of the van and one large animal bumped the side mirror pretty hard at one point. Going early allowed us to see LOTS of animals up close, they were hungry! Our goal was to see and feed the giraffes and they didn’t disappoint. We had so much fun laughing and interacting with the animals. We even bought a T-shirt that says “I got slobbered”. You WILL get slobbered so I suggest taking wipes or towels or buying one from the facility. You can also buy food there to feed the animals. We bought the 8 small bags and it was perfect for the two of us to feed all the way through the drive. The walkabout was neat but not our favorite part. I don’t think we would do that part again but will definitely be visiting the safari again and doing the drive through!

By Wyatt E |

The best up close experience with exotic hoofed animals in the drive through park, and you can rent cars to drive through if you don't want to take your own car through. Wonderful experience.

Was here 11 yrs ago, brought our son. This time came back to bring our daughter. I bought our tickets online, great idea bc the line to get tickets at noon was backed way up (I'd say over an hours wait)! Recommend buying tickets online before going!

Upon arrival we had to park in their overflow parking area about a 4 min walk to the ticket station area. We decided to rent one of their vans for the trip, said about an hour wait, well that turned into over 3 hours!! Yeah, if we'd known this we would not have rented one of their vans!! While waiting we did their walk thru to see the animals, they were pretty active and neat to see. After that you just sit and wait, and wait! It was super, super packed!

So finally around 3:30pm we got our van and started the drive thru, well it was bumper to bumper and the line wasn't moving at all! It took us over 2 hours to get thru! Now remember their rentals do NOT have air, so here we were sitting with it over 90 degrees outside and hardly no wind blowing, inside this van! It was enjoyable until....it started to come a very bad thunderstorm with lots of rain, lightening and thunder! So, the vans you rent do NOT have windows, only bars so we got SOAKED!! Needless to say our daughter didn't really enjoy it, and this time neither did we. It was worth seeing the giraffes and zebras ONLY! Nothing else really stood out!

Oh, and if you decide to use the restroom here, note: it is the Most Nastiest Bathroom I've EVER been in!! There was no 6 foot rule going on anywhere due to the virus (as most other places were)!? This is really a neat place to go, but if its packed turn around and go another day! Our 1st visit 11 yrs ago was WAY Better than this one!

By GaryGeorgia |

We had a fun taking our car through Wild Animal Safari. It was a cool day so the animals were very active. Was disappointed they were not operating the tour bus. The cost was a little more than expected especially since there was no tour bus. The walk through zoo was small and the animals acted hungry. The peacocks were very nice.

Two grandparents checking this out. MUST RENT THE ZEBRA VAN, then no worries about vehicle damage. Buy twice the food you think you want. YOU WILL ENJOY EVERY MINUTE! Best $100.00 for entertainment ever. Will bring any and all family members here to enjoy. A great time for two adults. Our Adult children. Grandchildren and our (great grand parents)will be taken

Great way to see unusual animals from a typical safari but with a quick trip from Atlanta. Better to go early to avoid crowds and not feel rushed.
Most importantly use their vehicles not yours!

By Marie A |

This place was not worth the money. We rented a van, the doors wouldn’t open. Had to enter from driver side. The check engine light was on and something was dinging the whole ride. There was left over animal food throughout the vehicle and there were ants inside the van. All the animals are pretty much the same. They all look sad and the ride through the park took forever. Save your money, your not missing out on much.

My husband took our niece here, she had an absolutely wonderful time. Our bus tour guide was Jack and he was great. Definitely will be back. Loved being able to see all the animals and feeding them from our hands.

By WAREAGLE93 |

Had a great time. Recommend feeding the animals. Bring a towel and wipes to clean up after feeding and Do not drive your personal car. Get ready to laugh until it hurts and create tons of memories.

By jennalday |

This was our 2nd time but our friend's 1st time. It was an amazing experience. I suggest you rent one of their vehicles as you will be up close and personal with the animals. I'll return any time in the area.

We had a great time with the family on the old school bus painted like a zebra and really had fun feeding the animals and it was a riot.

Other than that, we had to use the bathrooms after that trip and they really needed cleaning quite badly!! what is up with that? It is very expensive to get into the park, and not to mention the food one does buy voluntarily, but quite a necessity to enjoy feeding the animals. Surely the bathrooms could be taken better care of???

Then I was very upset to see the lions in very small cages pacing around and around their area????? You have 500 acres there - why can the lions not have a bigger area to be in? I was in shock and this spoilt my whole trip! I grew up in Africa and know how theses animals live - give them more space??!

also this goes without saying for the animals in the Walkabout Area???!!!
Broke my heart and I still have nightmares about the animals small cages where they are pacing around and around, Bears, tiger just laying on a perch in a tiny cage, hyenas in a kind of jail? maybe out of his own choice but not right!!!
monkeys that have already lost their minds in the captivity just staring at the pole in front of them?? I can go on, but it upsets me too much.

surely with 500 acres of land you could share a bit more space - to say the least -
with these poor creatures. The deer, giraffes, zebras, wildebeasts, and all those others have the whole park to themselves, so SHARE MORE SPACE?????

I think this is soooooo cruel! Cannot return, sorry!!!

The experience was amazing! Such a wide variety of animals. Feeding them was so much fun. To see those animals up close was incredible.

By Luis Gomez |

Really enjoy this quick circuit around the place with some feeding and close moments with wildlife... must see for GA residents and visitors.

By Hope W |

We enjoy doing these drive thru zoos but this one has more animals than we have seen anywhere else. And it has a walk-thru area too. It is a little more expensive than we have paid in the past but there is more to see and you can drive through as many times as you want. Be sure to buy at least two bags of food for the drive thru part! Those animals are all about the food!!! Plan to spend around two hours here. They do have vans you can drive if you don’t want to risk damage to your own vehicle.

By Heard09 |

This was a wonderful trip! We had a group of less than 40 and reserved a bus. Our driver was very informative and funny! We had food to feed the animals... and they do slobber!! Would definitely come back!!

By Debra J |

Such a fun trip! Get there early so the animals will still be hungry, and definitely rent one of their vans. You might be missing a side mirror if you don't. Purchase at some food from inside and most definitely buy a slobber towel. You're gonna need it! Drive slow, pull over and let others pass. The giraffe coming over the hill and towards our car was one of the coolest experiences Ive ever had.

By georgia_8 |

I’m writing this while sitting in a van with two kids sitting in a long line of traffic at the animal safari. We have done this adventure several times and is one of our favorite activities. We are only half way through and it has been over an hour. The staff are now out here moving the animals away from the road which now means that we are sitting in stand still line and don’t even have an option when a rare animal comes near the car. This was missable. Do not waste money on a busy weekend !!!!!!!!

By Bruce F |

Driving the rental van and feeding the animals was a lot of fun, especially the giraffe. There were a lot of babies and younger ones as well. I think we saw more than 10 buffaloes during our visit.

By krazicat |

We visited the park yesterday. As we drove out to the park we were a bit skeptical as there isn't much signage and there were no other cars on the road. We arrived and found the parking lot over half full. We paid for our admission and rented one of their vans. Dont expect much, they are old Vans without side Window glass. They're dented and look a bit like a row of demolition Derby cars. But we soon learned why, they are perfect for the trip around the park. I recommend buying a big bag of feed and enjoy yourself. Most of the animals are from N. America but the tour is great. Just enjoy seeing nature and feed the animals.

By TripORskip |

This place was a chart topper (in 75 degree weather. I would avoid at all cost on a hot summer day) the bathroom situation wasn’t the best but the renting the van, animal encounters were amazing !!!!

By Wayne D |

We saw the signs for this place while passing by enroute to Atlanta. After a look at their website we were hooked. It was friggin fun.

The main attraction is the 3.5 mile drive on a winding paved one lane track. There are 3 ways to do this: take the tour bus, drive your car, rent a car from them. We drove our car and it was awesome. Yes, the buffalo did knock around my mirrors. Yes, there is a lot of mud and slobber around my windows inside and out. Yes, a buffalo did bite at my door handle and loosened a bit. Yes, the paint is a little scratched (from horns or hooves I don’t know). If you are driving a Jag or are really prissy about your ride, driving your own car isn’t wise. But, if you want the memory of having three zebras sticking their heads through your window while a bull is tonguing your wife then drive your own car in.

The bus and the rental cars look like the A-Team modified them for a zombie outbreak. They looked functional and were decked out in a zebra paint scheme. Brought Jurassic Park to mind.

It took us 2-3 hours to drive the 3.5 miles, we weren’t really paying attention. We pulled over a lot to let others pass. There were 2 of us and we bought the “family pack”of 8 bags of food (the bags are brown bag lunch bags). We went through about 7 bags. This cost us about $80 all together (admission and food).

Admission includes the “Walkabout,” which is not nearly as much fun as the drive, but still nice. This is the area where they have fenced tigers, wolves, bears, monkeys. They also have sheep, goats, and alpaca...but no petting zoo. They don’t want the animals fed the same pellets as what they sale for the drive through. They do have gumball machines where you can buy feed to give to some of the animals, feed that looks a lot like Cheerios. $0.50 will get you about 10 Cheerios. So, bring some...quarters.

We went on a Thursday when local kids were in school. We drove 6 hours there on our vacation in Florida and then drove to NY. It was so worth it!
We were the first ones there and took our own car. It was awesome. We have a 6 and 10 year old and all of us loved it. We still can’t stop talking about it! All of the animals followed us around- we laughed so hard that we cried! We got the big bag of food and went back and got the second biggest bag for another drive through- we still ran out of food!
The walking part was good too. The baby giraffe was great to see!
I highly, highly recommend this !!!

By Tracy G |

The safari bus tour was awesome and a lot of fun. I wouldn't take my nice car through it though. Take plenty if food for the best experience. The animals will follow you wanting more!! The Walk a Bout zoo could use some work. There are a lot of exhibits with no animals and some of the exhibits could use some work and be cleaned up some. The bear and the tiniest little monkey out there looked sick. On the safari, there was some little deer/goat animal that has a small baby following it, one of her front legs are hurt and someone needs to see about it!! The Walk a Bout experience would be better if there were times throughout the visit where the animal keepers could make sure you can see the animal. We went to the Sloth exhibit twice and never got to see anything but their backside. The site shows a large tortoise exhibit, we never saw one. We saw lots of turtles on the safari. The card reader in the gift shop wouldn't work so a lot of business was lost that day, May 3rd, because no one carries much cash these days and there is no atm machine. The bus tour driver and the rest of the staff were great!! Overall, it was a fun time and we would do it again.

By Stephanie W |

I grew up in the country around animals and I have been to zoo’s. But I have never laughed so much and got to feed so many different animals. They are so funny with their long tongues sticking out. The kids absolutely loved it and most of the adults did too. My husband is not an animal person and he even laughed at them. Don’t drive your vehicle it is worth renting their van. The animals are not shy they are all up on vehicles and I even seen a goat put his feet on the side of someone’s bmw suv. I don’t know what they were thinking lol. But I think my favorite was feeding the giraffe. There is not many places that you can get that close to an adult and baby giraffe. I grew up seeing deer but not feeding them from my hand! This is a must do!

By Jeckell island tourist |

This park is amazing! Kevin our bus driver did a great job telling the unique things about all the animals and the history of the park. Great day out!

By FLBill |

What a great experience! You drive your own car through the grounds and the animals stick their heads in the window and eat from your hand. If you have a nice vehicle rent one of theirs! The buffalo slobber a lot. Be sure to buy at least four bags of animal food (only available on site). We drove the entire thing twice and went through eight bags.

By diguan |

An experience to lock-in lifetime memories. Traveled as family with 6, 4 and 1 yr old. We opted to rent a safari vehicle based on other reviews and that is an absolute recommendation to follow. The car/ van will stink but that is part of the experience. The animals were not as hungry by 1:00 so keep that in mind when buying food. Cannot help but think about Tiger King though when walking through the animal section.

Just an hour away from Atlanta, GA, the Pine Mountain Safari is an ideal day trip.
Before beginning this mini adventure make sure to collect passes and rent one of their Vans as the animals could scratch your car in the process of getting their feed. Or, you could board the bus operated by the park officials that departs at specific timings.
You can purchase the animal feed while buying the feed as well. Make sure to buy plenty of feed.
The van we rented was a 15 seater with just a couple of rods splitting the windows and cranked doors(Which is understandable). It had lots of feed lying around on its floor and the seats were damped by the rains overnight.
On entering the park, we noticed that the animals did understand the adage 'Early bird gets the worm" rather well. We were greeted by Zebras, Deers, Bucks and a whole other species whose details you can get from the official website. After moving a little ahead at 5mph(official speed limit of the park) we were entertained by Bisons and Giraffes. The animals were very friendly and docile but it's always advised to throw the feed away from the vehicle.
The excitement of the prospect of feeding the animals from the hands could be felt in everyone. The animals try to put their heads, with mouths open, through the window of the Vans was the most exciting experience for the kids as well.
The safari shouldn't take you more than 2 hours, subject to traffic in the park. Watching kids and adults enjoy or hesitate was lots of fun. A pleasant experience and an ever lasting memory to be cherished for sure.

We have been here several times and I still love it. You get a opportunity to see, feed and touch animals up close. You can drive your own car or rent one there. We always drive our car and yes it could get scratched or dented. We see a wide range of animals and love feeding them. There is also a walking zoo part which is also good. They have a capuchin monkey that mimics your moves and a liger. Beautiful animals and the staff seem to care about the animals and will answer questions. A nice morning!

By Jan H |

The grandkids loved it— lots of animals. But buying online tickets and getting questions answered online was impossible— no live person, couldn’t use a regular credit card and phone was so staticky, couldn’t hear what was said. Also half the animal enclosures were empty on the walking tour, and others in pretty bad shape. Looks like they need money and help!

By Nez |

Driving thru was great, but right before you leave there is 2 lions in a pen no bigger than a dogs pen. Was told since they don't have to find their own food, they don't need room to roam! (REALLY) then there were 2 wolves with a small enclosure and a tiger that did nothing but pace back and forth. I am no expert on sloths but I do know that most of their lives are hanging upside in trees. This sloth was in a glass enclosure with absolutley nothing for him to do but sit there. It was so very sad to see. We talk about not tethering dogs day after day, but this was just as bad if not worse, these are wild animals.

By Love2travelthree |

We had a group of 13 and rented one of their vans. It was perfect. The van is not clean and has no windows but it was perfect to feed the animals, the goats scratch the car when they climb up. I would have had a cow in my own truck. We bought the family pack of food and it was plenty. Lots of great animals to feed. GET THEIR VAN

This was our 2nd time there. It isn’t cheep but it is a lot of fun! First, rent one of there vehicles. They are beat up and very dirty but your car could be scratched dented or at least animal spit and drool in it. The animals 🦒 🦓 antelope rain-dear gazelle pigs bison water buffalo all r there to feed. You will have to buy their food for the animals. There is a small walk through zoo. Children would live it. Adults too.

Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain Georgia was by far the best safari I've been to! The best part was how well the animals have learned to interact with you. The term "gentle giants" is so befitting the largest of the animals. The Animals that you cannot hand feed have learned that if they open their mouths just right you can throw the food in and it's absolutely adorable. Other shorter animals have learned how to motion with their heads to throw some food on the ground for them - so very clever! Another highlight is being able to rent a safari van at a very reasonable price. We were traveling in a rental car so very much appreciated this option. This was all on top of very patient, helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended!!

By Phillip Humphries |

Took the grandbabies today. They are just about the right age to enjoy it. Be sure to rent one of their Jurassic Park like junked out vehicles, or yours will be filled with animal spit and large pellets of food missed by eager, hungry animal lips. We had ton of laughs after the initial shock of animal heads and teeth turning their heads sideways to get inside the passenger compartment with you. They animals smell horrid, like all wild animals must, especially with their hot breath in your face. The kids loved it, and we laughed almost the whole way. Where else could you feed an elk that was worthy of a Field and Stream cover? The walkabout was fun, peacocks displaying their beauty in a mating ritual. The vehicles you rent are old, and not road worthy, but you have to give it to whoever figured out how to buy a $50 car and rent it out for half of it's value for an hour each time. My only concern, and not a big one was, how healthy are animals who are fed repeatedly a food that probably does not have much nutritional value? All fear of humans is gone from these animals. Go during a warmer season. We will definitely do it again.

A friend and I are from the UK anf a we were visiting Atlanta we decided to take a trip to wild animal safari. The safari portion of the zoo was great, the animals had plenty of space to roam and do what they wanted. However the walkabout area was extremely upsetting. The animals, big and small, were in cages much too small with no vegetation and the poor things looked bored and so sad.I asked PETA if they had heard about this zoo and they informed me that they had and unfortunately there was little they could do. Laws for the protection of captive animals are very weak. For example, according to the Animal Welfare Act, animals must be fed, watered, and sheltered, yet space requirements only mandate that the animals be able to make “normal postural changes” (i.e. allow them enough room to stand up, lie down, and turn around). Those awful cages are within regulation.

The grandchildren were visiting from Oklahoma so my daughter and I wanted to take them to a unique place to make their trip special. I had never been to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain myself, but I had heard about how fun it is for kids. What an understatement! This grandmother had the time of her life!
First of all, you can rent a car to drive through the park, take a bus provided by the park, or drive your own car. We chose to drive our own car. The admissions desk also sells food for the animals that is acceptable for their diets.
I have never heard such excitement from the kids as the animals approached the windows. I was also literally shrieking with joy at being up close and personal with giraffes, zebras, elk, deer, bison, and so many, many more! Being able to stop the car at any time and travel at your own pace was wonderful. Even my 11 month old granddaughter was saying "Wow" for the first time ever. Seriously, I have it recorded!
After the drive through, we did the walk through to see more wild animals that have to be contained, for obvious reasons, like hyenas and bears and one grumpy baboon to name a few.
We topped off our visit with a trip to the gift shop. There's nothing like a souvenir to help kids remember their adventures. I think my little Okies will have Georgia on their minds for some time!

I have visited many parks.. but this defiantly stands out.. You have to experience this place at least once.. I have now visited this twice with kids and family.. make sure you rent their vehicle.. Do not drive your own.. If you love animals, then this park is for you.. There is nothing exciting that getting so close to a Giraffe and be able to feed him..it is just great..

By DayTrip532360 |

We all had fun! Kids enjoyed the animals coming to the car and asking for food... we wished we had plan the food better because 1/4 way through we were out 😊

By Jaquice W |

We visit this place once a year...it's always fun to feed the animals and it's extra fun if you rent a van to drive through yourself. I love to bring new family members down and watch their reactions to the animals getting so close to you...it's priceless. It's not that pricey to get in but I think it cost to much lol. Overall I like to visit but I do feel that the restrooms should be better kept...during busy times I can look pass but we were just there on Wednesday and the ladies restroom was horrible and it was hardly anyone there but at least it had soap and water. I really wish they would do better about that. They do have a gift shop, a small picnic area, and I believe they have a place to order food but don't quote me on that. Just note the horse flies and other bugs will be out in full affect. I will say this visit felt like the grounds overall were unkept and it felt like a breeding ground. Hopefully it won't feel or look that way on our next visit.

By borders22 |

We visited on a day when there were few people going on the safari. There were around a dozen on our bus. Animals come right up to the bus to get fed. Be sure to bring a camera. The driver told us about each of the animals. It was most enjoyable. The bs trip is included in general admission. Do not drive your car through as it may well be damaged by some of the larger animals.

By LaN0mada |

Winston the monkey with his stuffie, trying to make friends by giving feathers to visitors, was lovely but made me sad. He needs a much bigger enclosure and more ability to socialize. It was interesting to see the animals up close, but I worried about their wellbeing given the large numbers of ungulates in each enclosure. Let us hope that this facility is not breeding/selling animals and will shift its focus to rescue and conservation.

My husband and I love nature and wild life (plus we are big kids at heart 😃). When arriving go to the ticket office, at that point you purchase admission, feed( for the animals), & the opinion to rent a van. You can also just take the bus tour or drive your own car. We choose to rent the “van” (since it was just the 2 if us they gave us the small car 😂). We chose to rent the van because it’s messy with feed and feeding. Average wait time for the rental is 45 minutes, so they have a cafe (with the basics burgers, subs, pizza, etc). Plus a “walk about” that houses a kangaroo, monkeys, baboons, bears, coyotes, tigers, and several other animals. By this time your rental is ready. At the entrance of the ride through safari you can purchase a slobber towel ($4 each...well spent). Then enter and encounter an array of animals...giraffe, water buffaloes( which are sure to eat from your hand), zebra, rams, deer, elk, moose....great for a date or the entire family!!! Wear dark clothes because it’s messy and dress cool if in the summer and fall no a/c in the cars, vans, and buses. The price is $26.95 adult admission,$23-24.95 seniors and children...van rental $23...4 bag feed $26/27.

Animals in open land seemed healthy although seeing lions caged was sad. Due to previous reviews did not approach caged/enclosed animal space viewings. Areas where social distancing should be practice was not being practiced nor upholding mask recs.

My husband and I had a great time feeding the giraffes, zebras, elk, deer, bison etc.! You can drive you own car, rent one of their SUV’s which has a horizontal metal bar dividing each window in half or ride in their retro school buses. We took their first bus tour at 10:45am. There were only 10 people on the bus, and we were able to go from side to side in the bus to take advantage of feeding the animals to the left and right of the bus. We purchased a $4 bag of food and we ran out of pellets less than half way through the hour long tour. We wish that we would have bought their biggest bag. Their largest giraffe, Rosie, at one point stuck her entire head in the bus and pushed a lady off of her seat. She was fine, thankfully. She must have had her bag of food in her lap, so Rosie took matters into her own hands. When the bison beg, they actually moved their huge grey tongues out of their mouths so that you can drop the pellets right in their mouths. We’ve been to National Parks viewing buffalo before, and these guys seemed so docile. We are so happy that we toured here and disappointed that we didn’t buy more food and ride the bus a second time.

The bus driver was very friendly and told you which species were running to the bus. These animals train their visitors well. The driver would then say that "the bison look hungry", then the "elk are hungry", etc. My husband and I were wondering how much these animals are fed outside of the tours if they are always hungry.

Their “walk about” on the other hand seemed to have small cages for the size of some of their animals. We did not feed any animals in the walk about area. Walk this area first so that you leave the safari with the positive experience of feeding the animals.

This trip was the most fun we have had in a long time. Buy the 4 pack of animal feed, you will need it. Rent the zebra van! Worth every penny! We drove through, and did the Walk-About. The best outing on a cold, misty day- or any day! We missed a few animals like the giraffes, due to the cold weather.

Teenager that checked us into our van wasn't very friendly but the rest of the experience was awesome. Animals all basically try to stick their head inside your vehicle and just open mouths. Rent the minivan for $25 bucks to have a more private experience. Done a few of these and really liked this one. Get plenty of food. The path is marked each quarter of the way so you know how to portion the food you give out. Highly recommend

Great safari, had an opportunity to ride thru the park on the bus, see various animals, also fed them. The giraffes were the best. Great experience for the family.

By Kristen B |

This was so much fun for the whole family! There were a ton of animals for the safari drive and a wide variety. The walkabout area had very interesting animals that you typically don’t see at a zoo, so this was great for our young boys. We did the sloth experience and it was awesome also.

So rent a car, do not drive your own and don't take the bus. Plan on getting dirty. Buy a bag of food for each person in your group. Drive slow, let the animals come to you. Take pictures and video. Remember that you can wash all that mess off and have fun.

Decided to surprise the family. Park provided a wheelchair accessible van to tour the park and feed the animals. We quickly ran out of food but had a blast. Animals came right to the windows and ate from our hands.

This is a great park. Drive through in the park vehicle is a definite, if you are in a rental. So fun to feed the animals. If your in the area a must.

By Daniel F |

I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. We had so much fun!
However, I am so glad we rented one of their vans. Wouldn't want the animals on/against my vehicle! $30 well spent!
Thoroughly enjoyed it!

By 165jeanettem |

Absolutely worth it!!! Enjoyed feeding the animals by hand, they come right up and put their heads in the vehicle. Rent a safari van (book in advance they sell out fast). Buy looks of feed, you'll run out before the end!

We came from Puerto Rico to visit pur family and decided to visit the Safari. We really enjoyed the trip. Specially the kids. Beautiful place and lovely animals. The jokes of Captain Charlie were really funny.

By Shad H |

Although the journey from Atlanta was long it was worth it. My whole family enjoyed themselves. The entire Safari lasted about on hour, but it was fun the entire time. The animals walk up to your car and open their mouths for food, it was lots of fun we used our own vehicle

By Lisa C |

The kids had a blast but the adults were surprised with the price. Order tickets online before visiting this location. If you go with a good size crowd you can save a substantial amount of money Make sure you order a couple days before arriving. They will not honor the discount on the same day you arrive. If you are not worried about your vehicle that will save as well. The animals will jump up on the car if you stay in place too long. We had a brand new car so we opted to pay extra and the cars/vans are in pretty bad shape, plus extremely dirty. The kids laughed and squealed at the animals through the entire ride. 5 stars for entertaining the kids.

By Jon R |

Totally unorganized and unprepared.

It was a magnificent failure in crowd control. No staff present to direct the crowd and signage was poor at best. They encourage you to buy tickets online the day before, but this caused an hour plus wait with only a single tent just to get your QR code scanned and then an additional 2 hour wait just to catch the bus after. Meanwhile, walk up tickets had no wait basically.

The safari itself was solid. Unfortunately by allowing people to drive their own cars it causes a massive backup and further delays the buses.

The walkabout was very underwhelming.

Once you are on the safari the kids will enjoy it, but it is a complete waste of time to go out of your way for this.

First , Rent a Safari Van. Your car will thank You. As soon as You enter the Reserve the Animals will surround Your Safari van. The Animals have a system where one Animal will stand in front of Your vehicle while the others are getting fed. We had a Large Ram charge Our Van and Head Butted the sides of the Van. Goats were Climbing Up on the sides of the Van. We were Laughing the entire time. Our favorites was the Giraffes and the Bison. This was Our second trip in less than a Year and We are ready to go back again.

By rockytopgal |

Animals, animals and more animals! This was a why not decision for us traveling grannies and we enjoyed it! The giraffes were a favorite! The animals are so trained they stick their heads in the buses for the food..up close and personal with them for sure!

We had went to Wild Animal Safari on 08/23 and had booked the capybara experience ahead of time for 1:15pm. We arrived at 12:30pm and started the drive through safari tour which was wonderful we wrapped up at 1:20 which was a bit behind our schedule, but went directly to the yellow house and asked the nice lady at the desk if we could still attend and she said yes just up into the walk around enclosures and meet the guide. We head up there and are unable to find anyone for the encounter. We head back down and tell the lady we weren’t able to find anyone are we able to still do it? She walkies and says no problem just head up and the keeper will meet you. We were all super excited and happy they were still able to accommodate us. We get up to the enclosure and two ladies are waiting for us. One is very welcoming and the other YELLS “you made us look horrible, you were late and you said we couldn’t find you”. I wasn’t sure why she was saying this as all I had said to the lady was that we had got here around 1:20 but couldn’t find them walking around. She didn’t want to believe me and kept blaming me for not being here on time and was very unwelcoming about it. I asked if she had a problem and she said “yes you made us look bad and lied about us not being there”. I was pretty distraught that they would accuse me of lying when we were simply late and couldn’t find them. She then proceeded to continue to berate me in front of other customers and told me they will be rescheduling because she will not be dealing with us. THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD CUSTOMER SERVICE WISE and the most demeaning gross lady I have dealt with. We left and went to the office to get a refund which they had processed and I had asked for names of the employees from the manager and the manager concluded that I was at fault for being late and I shouldn’t have lied (said I couldn’t find them).
He said that I was never yelled at and was lying about my story as the employees had already talked to him. Even though I had 2 other people with me and about 5 other people watching what happened. He would not give me the names of himself or the two keepers of the capybaras of course for protection. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE CAPYBARA EXPERIENCE. THE WORST AND RUDEST EMPLOYEE I HAVE EVER MET. ACTUALLY DON’T GO HERE

Our family of six had a blast. We laughed with delight (and animal slobber) practically from beginning to end. You definitely do NOT want to take your own car, but be warned that their safari vehicles (I hesitate to call them vans) were FILTHY AND SMELLY. Be sure to buy the slobber towels or bring your own rags to wipe down. And, by all means, get the largest amount of feed you can. I ran out almost immediately in all the excitement, The only downside is the caged lions - horrible to see them in such a small space. Especially since the attraction doesn't need them to be special. They already have a special place and provide a great experience.

I love wildlife and you really can't go wrong at any zoo and/or aquarium. This was a fun adventure and I'll definitely go back soon.

I had a great time even as an adult and have been here twice, though I would consider it more of a kid thing. I am an animal lover and amateur photographer and enjoyed the opportunity to take fun photos as well as feed animals I would normally not be able to get this close to. As a head's up, though, it's more of a petting zoo than anything else. A good time if you like getting up close and personal with some wild (and not-so wild) animals. No joke about the up close and personal part, you drive through the park and feed the animals treats from there. The zebras and rams are particularly obnoxiously aggressive about obtaining their food reward. I thought this was endearing, but not everyone will think so. And do NOT drive through in your own vehicle- unless you hate it. Rent one of their vans- trust me on this!

Brought our 6 year old and 2.5 year old. They enjoyed riding the bus and seeing/feeding the animals. Bus tour through the park was a little slow as lots of folks were in there, so just be prepared for some slow going while in the drive through area. We hit the park in the afternoon so many of the animals were already well fed and enjoying the shade so we didn't get to feed too many (we got a four pack of food and gave away two packs). The walkabout area had some interesting animals but isn't that big, we walked it in about half-an-hour. The park is showing signs of aging but is fun for one time visit

Had great fun enjoyed feeding the animals, bus driver war great. Visited almost 3 years ago. 2017. Decided to take bus rather than taken our Car.lol

By catk0 |

Our trip started with the woman in the car next to us changing her baby in the trunk, while muttering to her baby that she “wouldn’t change him anywhere near those horrible toilets”. We wandered up to these horrible toilets and were not surprised she didn’t want her baby near them - they were disgusting. With open bins overflowing with bloody tissues, dirty floors and doors, flies eating you alive while you do your business and nowhere to hang your bags and belongings (because you DO NOT want to put them anywhere near the floor), we then strolled over to the ticket station/cafeteria. We were told there would be a 2.5-3 hour wait to rent one of their vehicles which our response was “that’s fine, we’ll pay now and come back in 3 hours”. But no, that would be too easy wouldn’t it? We were told we would have to wait on the premises for this time or risk waiting another 3 hours when we returned, as this is how their waitlist works. They suggested we do the walkthrough zoo (which on their website states takes around an hour - so what do we do for the other two?!) which we declined and left. You cannot honestly expect people to wait for three hours in Georgia heat, so what part of this waitlist makes sense? What’s the difference between me being in the premises or coming back when it’s my designated time? And finally, at $30 per head plus $30 car rental, surely you can afford to maintain toilets that aren’t disease ridden?

We went as a family in December.

The park is REALLY cool and the animals were great and friendly.

We drove our own car because the rental vans were super nasty inside. Thankfully, we made it out with only some Buffalo slobber on the window. :)

I would highly suggest this attraction.

By ScubaDavid |

We had a fantastic Saturday morning interacting with the inhabitants of the park. So many animals.

Definitely purchase at least one bag of food per person as these guys are hungry ;-))

Purchase tickets in advance AND I also highly recommend renting one of the park's Safari vans in lieu of using your personal vehicle.

I can’t explain how much fun it was to be up close and personal to these animals. It was mind blowing. Feeding a giraffe, a zebra and several cows, bison and camels made my entire trip to Pine Mountain! Best Day Ever! They even have a sloth which is my favorite animal on earth! Can’t wait to go again!

By Lkn4me |

We took a morning to spend over here. Went on the school bus! Totally worth not getting my car dirty on the drive thru!! Kids loved it!

By Holly C |

This was so much fun! The drive thru is the best part! We laughed the whole time. The animals are definitely used to people and cars and will come directly up to your window for food. If you are shy around animals, keep your window up. We loved the furry cows and the baby pigs best.
The walk about zoo was fine, but not exceptional…they are in the middle of renovations so I assume there will be more to see when that is finished.
We also purchased a sloth encounter which was neat. We got to give the sloths grapes and be in the enclosure with them. The keeper that took us in for the encounter was very knowledgeable. I was glad that she let the sloths do their own thing and didn’t force them to be held or pose. We happened to have the 4:00 slot which was perfect because she fed them when we were done which made them want to get up and eat. We stayed in the building (not inside their enclosure) for a while watching them munch on their veggie dinner.

The bus tour is perfect for all ages. Buy plenty of food on site to feed the animals. It’s an unusual opportunity to see wildlife so close. The heat didn’t stop the wildlife from seeking food provided by the visitors. Great time!

By R V |

The tour guided bus ride was the best. Everyone gets an opportunity to feed all the animals. Buy a bag of food, you'll need it. I was not pleased with the walk through zoo. I felt it needed more upkeep and modernization. I am sure the rescued animals are better here than being abused, but those animals need more room.
I still believe it's a great time for all.

By Kathy K |

This was so much fun!! It is not inexpensive and if you use your own car, be prepared for a slobbery mess but it’s worth it. We loved every minute of the animals up close and personal-sometimes too personal. The four kids ages 7-11 were thrilled to be able to see animals practically in the van and to feed them out of their hands. I highly recommend this.

By mamashuz |

By far the most fun I have ever had at a drive thru zoo . we have one in Florida but not allowed to put windows down not here they want you too . What an awesome experience I only wish * had been here when my kids were small. They would have loved this. Now tiny kids may be frightened but kids 8 and up if they are not easily frightened of big animals will love this. I recommend getting the big tote with 4 bags of food and this way you won’t run out When you first start you get all excited and hand out the food quick but there are a lot of animals and you need to have some for everyone !!If I had kids I would get 2 totes of food it’s just gonna work out better. People complaining about the cost of it should just stay home. This is a vacation and fun type thing not an everyday thing so spend the $$ have a blast. WE GOT STUCK NEAR THE END AND HAD A 20 MINUTE WAIT TO GET OUT BECAUSE TEHBUFFALO WELL THEY MOVE IF THEY FEEL LIKE IT. Really so much fun.

By WasAt2262 |

The bus ride was fun with the giraffes and ostriches being the high points. However, several of the animals seemed to be in pretty bad shape with large patches of bare skin interspersed with the furry patches. The walkthrough area also had a few interesting sights like the monkeys and the parrots.

By VICKI D |

Definitely arrive early. Our bus was the first to go through and the animals were hungry. This provides a much better opportunity to see animals up close and feed them. I would definitely recommend the bus with a tour guide because they are able to provide a lot of information about the [ark and its animals.

By Janet S |

This lots of fun to do with kids. The animals are friendly and most let you pet them. You can rent cars or go on a bus because there is a high chance your car will get animal slobber on it! It's about a mile long, so make sure you save some of your animal food for later. There is a walk-about zoo too! Also you can visit their large gift shop. Be careful of goats as sometimes they climb or headbutt your car. There are some animals you may not feed or pet through your car because they are mean or aggressive such as zebras or ostriches. However, you may toss food out the window to feed them.

By Pat H |

Wow! Driving through this safari was so unique. The animals came to our car wanting food. Watch your fingers.

By Companion148337 |

Took my best friend here for her birthday. We had a great time. I can’t recommend taking the bus trip enough! Jack, our bus driver, was extremely knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor! Buy some extra animal food - it’s so fun to feed them! The animals appear well taken care of although the walk about could use some updates.
The cafe has the best French fries and a large seating area indoors as well as picnic tables outside.
It’s a great way to spend the afternoon

By Lacie Dooley |

We had so much fun feeding the animals in the drive through, they are definitely not shy! I would suggest to drive one of their cars and not your own.
The animals roaming had lots of room to explore! The only thing that I didn’t care for where the cages of tigers, etc. It just isn’t enough room for them, as well as for some in the walk about.
Be sure to go on the walk about though, as it provides tons more to see for the whole family!
