Some much good food and so little time! Wow where do I start. I have been to food truck events and food parks, and street fairs with dozens of food vendors but this one is the best. So many gourmet vendors are here and an eclectic selection of different foods and styles. I highly recommend you fast for a day or two and go to Smorgasburg and eat until you explode. There is only one draw back and it has nothing to do with the excellent food. It is that there is absolutely no shade and it was 92 when we were there and it was unbearable on the asphalt. So I ate ice cream.

We're really lucky to have Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. We went a few times over the summer and we tried some really good food. We've missed it over the winter (although there is an indoor version at Industry City, I believe). We got through winter by finding the brick and mortar stores for some of our favourites, such as The Jianbing Company, and Goa Taco. This is also one of the benefits of Smorgasburg - you can try a little something from a place before locating their actual store (if they have one).
Smorgasburg runs on Saturdays from April - October. It's well worth visit if you like small, shareable foods, like we do. Warning: Don't come if you don't like crowds! It gets pretty hectic and there's a lot of queuing.
It's a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday, and even better if you have out of town guests to entertain. There is so much to choose from that there is something for everyone - jianbing, many types of taco, ice cream, bbq, water drop cakes... various lemonades, coffee - all very instagram friendly!
Also, the view is great. What more do you need?!

Smorgasburg is a madhouse of people packed into East River State Park, attempting to walk and/or eat and not bump into each other or spill food on each other. Alternatively: a food lover’s paradise.
There are tons of vendors, and tons of variety. Prices are high as you’d expect, but you can pretty much get whatever your heart desires here. I even ate a spaghetti donut. I think it’s cool to experience it once or twice, but I don’t necessarily feel the need to go again.

I loved visiting Smorgasbord in Williamsburg. My only complaint was that it’s too crowded - but I love the different variety of vendors. I would recommend you to get cash ahead of time - the atm lines can feel long when hungry, and a lot of places are cash only. I recommend the grilled lobster (can’t remember the vendor name), all the different baos and dumplings, the Indian chai stand, the artisanal popsicles, and the Asian shaved ice desert. Would definitely go back with friends and bring a picnic blanket to bring snacks back to along the water.

My daughter and I went on a hot, Saturday morning. Lots of food to choose from and one vendor tastier than the next! We had delicious lobster rolls and then a wowful, omg so great!

We found this to be just ok...it was very crowded and hard to get around to the stalls with so many people squeezed in together. Once we got our food, there weren't any available seats so we went out to the sidewalk and sat on some discarded concrete piles. It was good to have the warm sun on us. It was a very windy day so the food didn't stay hot for long. The food was good, unique combinations, many of which I'd never heard of. I think we would have enjoyed this more if we went on a day with more mild weather.

We randomly walked into this apparently weekly event when we were in the area - and we spent a couple of hours there and took away a bunch of lovely foodie things. What a place/event - a wide variety of producers of all kinds of food and drink, it really was brilliant if you are into this kind of thing (which my partner and I totally are). We'll be back, and you should go, too!

What fun! Arrive a bit before noon, either on foot, by subway, or by bicycle, just bring your appetite. Have fun experiencing all the different vendors. The ice cream waffles, ramen noodle burgers, or the Mexican corn on the cob, there are so many to choose from.

If you're inn from out of town, or even never make it to Brooklyn, this is a great place to go to try international foods, see a great view of Manhattan, and have an awesome time.
The food options are so fantastic with the Jiang Bing being one of my favorites, but really you've got to try anything you're interested in. Bolivian Llama Party for a saltena is also a great try if you've never had it.
Explore the neighborhood afterward and have some drinks, Brooklyn Brewery is nearby, and so are so many other great places!

Highly recomend chick pea and olive, vegan, brilliant. Great to see healthy food amongst all the fat and grease!
Interstingly, as a veggie, i also tried some melt in the mouth brisket, some divine spring rolls and a stunning chilli.
Great spot for lunch, choose carefully....

Everything that is good food about New York can be found here. There is no entry fee - just be ready to eat way too much! Even in cool weather with on and off rain it was a fun and ennjoyable visit.

Great food market with lots of stalls with delicious goodies and a bar. Right on the river with a good view of Manhattan - perfect for a sunny day! Williamsburg area itself is a cool place to have a look around - lots of restaurants, boutique shops and nice bars (think Brick Lane/Shoreditch vibes)

the place is beautiful - go to the basement to check out restaurants all set in a bank Vault . I felt it was just another venue to sell -mostly old items .

Food, Food, Food is the theme. Caught the river ferry from Manhattan 34th St Wharf. Fantastic scenery of the Manhattan city skyline. The markets are extremely popular and crowded so get there early. Wide variety of different foods to chose from ranging from Asian to local. Great exotic flavours. Highly recommend.

The food was really good. Long lines at some of them, but worth it. I really want to go back so I can try everything

My cousin told me that the way to see New York, the real one is to go to Brooklyn, specifically Smorgasburg. And he is so right! This small food market behind the beach is a wonderful melting pot of culture. We had some nice time "people watching" and the foods were amazing. From Filipino, to Japanese, to Korean to all organic and to exclusive vegan. It has everything! Plus the skyline of NY is a huge plus!!! Dont miss this place out on ur visit.

If you're a foodie, this is the place for you. Lots of different types of foods/drinks/deserts to choose from. The food here is delicious. Also great views of the Hudson and Manhattan.

A fun experience here with my adult son who is in NYC for a summer internship. A wide variety of food stands- ethnic, sweet, savory, vegan, etc. Expect to pay ~$10-14/decent, but not large serving. Seating is on picnic tables in an adjacent area. There are porta-potties next to the food stands, but nicer bathrooms near the exit. Note that there is no shade in the eating area- we went on a hot sunny day and we got baked by the sun. Plan accordingly.

So glad we visited this place. It was on a Saturday late in the morning so crowds were starting to form. We have these types of markets in Australia but these come nowhere close to what we have. We tried some tacos, donuts and chicken wings. After those three we were too full to try anymore. Come with an empty stomach!

Visited a week ago during a very hot day. There were loads of food stalls & all food looked good. It was very busy though with limited places to sit.

Excellent outdoor weekly food market. Lots of creative and diverse things to sample. Innovative fusions of different styles and traditions. Bring cash and don't expect cheap options.

Some absolutely excellent food vendors all in a single location. And free of charge to get in!!! Crowded but the lines generally move pretty quickly, and there is an area next to it and the park to relax.

Nothing is undercover so take a hat and water in summer! Some great lobster rolls, slow cooked meat. Needs more seating and umbrellas - you spend most of your time standing up and walking around eating. Definitely worth going to if in NYC - some GREAT food!

This is such a fun place to spend the day. There are so many places to eat, drink, and get dessert. There are so many cuisine to choose from there is something for everyone. It's right on the water with beautiful views of the city.

Definitely a tourist and hipster mecca, worth a visit but not something you'd want to do all that often because everything costs at least $10. However, the food is deliiiiicious. I recommend first doing a lap before choosing your eats!

I drove out to Brooklyn from Long Island when I was visiting my friend, and she had to work so I heard about this place. They have about 30 tents with different food from around town and it's DELICIOUS!!! Ramen burger and the good batch. Must try's!

So I have to admit I love food markets. It is a weakness of mine where my heart(stomach) truly rules my head (wallet). I know I am well and truly getting ripped off by paying exorbitant prices on the most minuscule of dishes. I know that. Yet, like a moth to a blue light, I am drawn into those young hipsters with their one good culinary idea that they are milking for all it's worth.
To be fair there is also those culturally diverse fare that you can tell is grandmothers recipe passed on to the next generation who are willing to exploit it for profit and share with the world. You see there I go again.
Smorgasburg is filled with aforementioned stereotypes but it also has such an amazing array of food that you do feel it is more authentic than a cynic like me would lead you to believe. Bypass the cheesecake icicles and the spaghetti donuts (or do what I did and pretend you aren't interested and then ingest them in a manner that would horrify your mother). Try some of the amazing Central American or East Asian cuisine, there is so much to choose from. Maybe a fruit juice without a cup interests you or some good old fashioned beer in a plastic cup! There is so much choice so I'll focus just on two an option to comfort you and one to stay on the healthy side. Home FRites produces the most amazing chips with a delicious array of sauces. Well worth the wait in line. MOMOs create a delicious snack wrapped in a seaweed sheet and filled with either spicy salmon or chicken teriyaki and vegetables. Incredible.

Had a fantastic time even though it was raining. This would be a 5 if there were places to sit and there was protection in the rain. Great selection of food. Had two kids with us and they loved it as well. eat everything we could fit in our stomachs and it still cost us less than going out to a restaurant. every type of food is available!!!! My kids tried many new things. Didn't like the porta potties.

I prefer the winter market because of the size and it's not as crowded. The array of food vendors is excellent. From the best BBQ to lobster rolls, Shang-hai street food, ramen and ice-cream, there is plenty to choose from and it ALL good. The location this year back at Skylight One Hanson is magnificent. Eating inside a bank vault is a fabulous novelty!

Highly recommend the trek to Williamsburg for this! A ton of vendors on-site to appease any palate. Also a wide range of price points so you aren't breaking the bank. My boyfriend and I went and shared a bunch of different plates - Oysters, fried plantains, corn on the cob, and fresh coconut water. Don't forget to stop by the Arts & Fleas market just around the corner on 7th!

I can't say enough about the variety and quality of food available at this event...from the coconut glazed donut from Dough (hands down, the best donut I've ever eaten) to the meatball and chicken parm sliders from Sunday Sauce to the delectable ice cream sandwiches, the food was excellent. My only suggestion (mind you, NOT a complaint!), is that some of the servings were too large, we would have preferred smaller offerings so that we could, of course, have had room for more! Best advice: Go early, bring lots of cash and go hungry!

Great space, great vendors, slightly over priced but its NY so expected. Lots of fusion type foods, culturally diverse, something for the meatatarians and vegetarians/vegans alike. the are that serves booze is cordoned off with security. the drinks were strong and wayyyy overpriced , moreso than usual at this type of event. but they were strong so i guess it was a trade off. they had a very limited amount of options by way of booze. that may be me being picky but there you have it. there is also artisans , crafts vendors on the other side of the food vendors. and a seating area with lots of picnic bench type seating

This used to be so much fun, but it's become overrun as of late and has gotten too crowded for comfort. The food is still excellent, but now the lines are longer and items sell out more quickly.

Still a great place to come and soak in the atmosphere of Williamsburg, but a victim of its earlier success. it feels so commercialised and touristy now. Expect long lines and expensive prices for average food. Nicest part about it now is the views of the waterfront.

We were amazed at the wide variety of cuisines represented here. Sunny afternoon, delicious food - fantastic. The lengthy queues at some stalls was a bit of a challenge. Our favourites were a lobster dish, a Lebanese wrap, a rending curry and a pork roll.

We arrived at Smorgasburg (90 Kent Ave.) at 11:15 and left around 12:30. It was not crowded at all, and we didn't have to wait in line for anything. It was getting more crowded when we left. Last weekend's weather was bad, so Smorgasburg was cancelled, and this was the last weekend for the outdoor market, so that could have had something to do with why it wasn't packed.
The Williamsburg Smorgasburg is located in a park on the water with a great view of Manhattan. There are a lot of tables and places to sit. Smorgasburg was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, so it made it easier to walk around. Two of the vendors that I really wanted to try weren't there. A lot of the vendors weren't totally ready to go at 11.
Aziz Ansari was at Smorgasburg filming a scene for Master of None. It was cool.
We got the ramen burger because my husband was intrigued. It was good, not amazing, but we liked it.
Boananas was amazing, and I could have eaten five cups of that. We got the traditional banana pudding flavor.
We got the beef mofongo that was very good and filling. It was mashed plantains with shredded beef on top in a broth.
I tried the original, caramelized banana, and carrot cake Gooey & Co. gooey butter cakes. The banana was my favorite. They were all good, but the Boananas was better.
We wanted Carnal, but they weren't ready to serve until closer to noon. By then, we were full.

This festival is a celebration of food diversity, there are some many options snd new yet interesting foods you can try. From ice cream, Bbqs, burgers, sushi, seafood, Sandwiches and more. Its usually runs from 12pm to 6pm in the waterfronts of the hudson river in Williamsburg! Be sure to come early as a big number of visitors make their appearances around 2pm and lines can be formed. These food places are very pricey, and most of them only take cash. The food places aren’t aloud to give plastic forks/spoons, or water bottles because it goes against the events policy but its okay because they have a waster station for free, they also have picnic tables.

The largest weekly open-air food market in America. Over 100 local vendors. Started in 2008 as a spin-off of Brooklyn Flea. Saturday’s only on the waterfront in Williamsburg. Sunday’s in Prospect Park.

So worth a visit. So many stalls catering to everyone. Never had so much choice! Perfect for vegans and veggies. Loved it.

As we exited the L line we didn’t know what to expect, thinking to ourselves “did we waste a large portion of our short and precious time in New York City to come all the way out to Williamsburg on a whim for this festival?” As we exited the subway to street level we entered a whole different world much different from East Village, where we were staying for the duration of our trip. As we walk down the street towards the shore where the event was taking place we took in the atmosphere around us. This area seemed to be very, as one would say, hipster. The clothing that was much a little out there for my taste but gave our walk somewhat of a zoo sort of experience in that we observed people much closer.
As we got to the intersection we saw the sign and took in the aromas of so many different kinds of foods. We both looked at one another with great excitement and ran across the street to see what was in store. The event took up half the park and featured, as it seemed, a 100 vendors. We were very hungry seeing as though we skipped lunch that day and just for this event. The site was very clean and vendors all very busy. By the look of the lines one could tell the most popular stands. We looked around at every stand before making any final decisions on what food to eat. I of course choose barbeque pulled pork sandwiches and my girlfriend choose duck and coleslaw sandwich. We shared them both. The duck sandwich, I would say, wasn’t worth the $11 dollars because of the portion size but the pulled pork was perfect. They both were so very delicious. Afterwards, we finished up our feast with an original ice cream sandwich. It was two crunchy chocolate chip cookies with sea salt sprinkled on top and vanilla chocolate chip ice cream in between them. The food mixed with the unreal view of the city really spotlighted this trip and I would recommend it to everyone if they plan on visiting New York and Brooklyn.

strolling in the mass, seeking out what each food stand had on offer, tasting different bits of completely different cuisines all over the place
nice atmosphere, nice view on the riverside bank
recommended

This is our second visit to Smorgasburg..a must do for food lovers.. The choice is huge. Highly recommend a full day visit . The ramen burgers are a huge hit . So is the Japanese water drop cake .. Loved it .. Will go back again ..

There are lot of different food kiosks. We had a Red Hook Lobster sandwich with Maine sauce (delicious but expensive, 18 $), Shrimp fish and chips, Yakisoba vegi style. From here you can see Manhattan. During sunny days it is very hot, because it is on concrete floor. Very beautiful!

Lots of choice and lots of famous names, but for every dish we had it was a bit... meh. The event is well organised and the setting is nice, but spending $200 or so trying some of the more popular choices and nothing stood out at all.

Really happy we were able to catch Smorgasburg on a Saturday! It was super packed and a few places had long lines but it was worth it. A great place to try a wide variety of foods. Went to the arepa stand and the destination dumplings stand - really tasty! A must do in Williamsburg

Honestly the best part of our trip. We're big foodies and we loved walking around finding new stalls. We got the train over from Manhattan, which was easy enough with a 10 min walk on the other side.
Views onto Manhattan are great, with seating available overlooking the skyline.
Our favourite stalls were Red Hook Lobster, Home Frite, and the ice cream sandwich and buffalo wings place.
Absolutely a must-do when in NYC.

It is near the harbour front so it's quite nice. There are more than 20 stores so offer different varieties of food, Asian, Japanese, Chinese, American etc. Good to come here for lunch.

You will smell the Smorgasburg long before you see it, as the aroma of the countless vendors wafts through the area.
A list of vendors too many to mention, but whether you're a carnivore or vegetarian, there is something for everyone, just expect to wait in line as this place is packed.
There are several ATMs on site as well as a beer garden, but the best part is the "seating" area along the banks of the East River providing an unobstructed view of Manhattan.
I would recommend the lobster rolls from Red Hook Lobster. Just the right size for sharing but pricey ($18), however it is Lobster after all.
Open every Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm rain or shine but do NOT bring your dog as they are not allowed. Also, leave your double wide stroller somewhere else as the number of people will make it very difficult for you to maneuver and will annoy everybody else.

I finally went to Smorgasburg and it was great. The views are amazing and so is the food. I tried the ramen burger, chicken and waffles, and an ice cream sandwich. Everything was very good, but yes, overpriced. However, I would definitely go back!

Great to visit if you’ve got a Saturday free. 100+ vendors = good variety of food and drink on offer. Some more expensive than others but a good opportunity to try something new. Not much seating so you’ll want to visit on a nice day so you can sit on the park grass. The small beach inevitably gets busy with photo taking.

This is my second visit to Smorgasburg. The first at this location. Attached to a very nice park that you can bring a blanket and rest for awhile. On street parking was difficult but (3) of us did find parking, however it was early in the day. Never a cost to get in. Plenty of choices. Items are not inexpensive and although there are some very good items here, I find most are nothing to rave about, however the creativity to some of the dishes are amazing. We found many items to be in the $10-$12 dollar range, so it was a very expensive lunch, since you want to taste everything. They do have an ATM outside the gate.

My second time here and I'll have to admit i do it for the exceptional views of Manhattan. It's outdoors, no shade so it's very warm but if you can find a shady area in the park to enjoy your food it is amazing. Queues are always present and some are miles long! Prices are not cheap - anywhere for a meal from about 10 to 20 (lobster roll) considering that you are standing while you wait. And eat. But it's about the atmosphere! I enjoyed Goa (indian rotis with bbq meat), Red Hook Lobster (although for 20$ I really expected more filling - pretty scarce). Had Dough's donut for 3.50$. The bad thing is that you could get there at 2 and find that some of the hotter spots are sold out - i guess since u don't pay the entrance that's fine but I was still disappointed! I'd still return for such awesome views!

We attended on a sunny, cool day in October. Very tasty food. Nice vibe. Then we had a saunter down Bedford for more touristing.

I went for the first time today. It was cold and rainy, but it was still worth it. Plenty of great food choices plus beer, wine and liquor. Im sure it would be even better if it was nice out. Its a great neighborhood too. So come on down, walk around the neighborhood/park then eat. Great place for meet ups too in my opinion.

*2016 Review*
This is my third time visiting Smorgasburg in Williamsburg and I definitely remember it being better the other two times. I like to come each year to check out the new vendors and re-visit ones I liked (aka ramen burger).
This year, I skipped the ramen burger but here is what I tried:
2nd City Beef - (2 stars) - these are "Italian beef sandwiches". I use quotes because all add-ons are extra, including the sweet/hot peppers, which is one of the main components of an Italian beef sammie. So it's not really an Italian beef sammie. It's basically a plain beef sammie dipped in meat juices. I added provolone, which didn't really help the old beef taste.
Kimchi Smoke - (2 stars) - we got the Cholander fries (added bulgogi). This is fries with kimchi, cheese, green onions, and this spicy ketchup. The bulgogi was basically dried bits of beef and there wasn't a lot of it. The spicy ketchup was this super vinegar-y concoction of what I think is ketchup and gochujang sauce. They could have used less of this because that was pretty much all I tasted.
Carnal - (3 stars) - we went with the beef short rib. It has that super charred taste if you're into barbecue. But I think the best part of it was the tomato relish that was served on top of it.
Prickly Pear Lemonade (4 stars) - can't remember which place this was from but it was one of the Latin stands. This was super refreshing and not overly sweet or tart like a lot of these lemonades tend to be. It's a little pricey at $4 but it was worth every penny on a 95 degree day.
I still have yet to try East Coast Poke but I don't think I trust raw fish from a cooler on a sweltering day. Maybe next time!

Maybe coming from the suburbs of MA I would be impressed with anything in this city, but this event was a fantastic experience for me, even on a 90 degree day! Plenty of vegan options for me (except ice cream..bummer) and of course my meat-eating friends were in heaven. You can order things in small portions so you are able to try more than a few vendors. The only issue is there is not much room to sit in the shade, and I'm assuming if it's raining there's no coverage. I'd say bring an umbrella unless if it's 90 and really sunny, or raining

Head to Smorgasburg in Brooklyn! A Buzzy seasonal outdoor foodie market on Saturdays, offering 75+ incredible food vendors & city skyline views. Foodies dream! Catch a peek of the Brooklyn Bridge and have a little wander through the interesting and colourful neighbourhood that is Williamsburg.

Huge selection of carts/ stalls here at the weekend. Wanted one of everything but as much as I tried, I couldn't eat that much.
Everything we ate was delicious. Huge selection to try from. Had some amazing tacos.
You must go! If I lived nearby I would be there every weekend.

Save yourself the trip. This is not worth the time. The entire market is only about one acre with only a few booths worth stopping at. 12 food trucks max. Hey, seriously don't bother but if you do go, don't expect much, that way you won't be disappointed.

A lot of vendors selling clothes, accessories, vintage items in the building (on the first and second floor). If you are looking to do some vintage shopping, be prepared as it is quite pricey here. The variety of food vendors located at the basement was good. They had a few fusions available and desserts as well. Definitely a must go.

We first stopped and visited Domino Park which is very close to this place then we went and had lunch here with the family, the selections were out of this world. Come with an empty stomach and a "full wallet" like some others have mentioned. Very tasty treats and food/drinks to try but not cheap. Foods from everywhere talk about international as well as weird things like a "ramen burger" go figure. Opportunity to delve and excite your palate on a variety of foods/drinks you wont be disappointed.

Had a wonderful time at the food market. A wide variety of food at great prices. Can't wait to get back

Spent a really good hour or so here. The choice of food is amazing and all seemed to be really good quality.

I heard about this while looking for other places to visit. There are two, one by a flea market. Based in Brooklyn, this had incredible food on offer. I had a Louisiana cheese toast and it was delicious! My better half had a, what I can only describe as pulled beef, burger which he loved. There are plenty of food options, for carnivores, veggies and vegans and there is plenty of buzz. People stroll by the river edge, take in great views of the river and New York skyline, and eat their fayre. Definitely worth a visit, but don't have breakfast beforehand!

Great Saturday afternoon in the park. Lots of families, good food. Great view of the Manhattan Skyline from across the river.
Vegan selections, Gluten free, BBQ, sweets. Cash Only.

If you are in NY and ever have a chance to go to Brooklyn, Smorgasburg is a must! It runs from April to November every weekend and we went to the location in Williamsburg! There are about 75 food vendors set up at the park and the food was amazing! You get to eat while overlooking the Manhattan skyline on a beach! Great experience and the food alone is worth it! It's a very short subway ride from Manhattan and trust me, the experience is like none other!

The food is overpriced but good. We had big mozz sticks, pricky lemonade, ring dings and mighty quinns brisket sandwich. Dough wasnt set up yet and we arrived late so didnt get any. Good place for quick food but your better off to save an Uber and eat in the city.

We checked this place out after being totally disappointed with the Brooklyn Flea across the street. There are so many unique food options to choose from. It's impossible to try out every food vendor so you'll probably have to come back a few more times. We had everything from delicious fried mozzarella sticks, stuffed squid, amazing brownie ice cream sandwiches, nutella ring dings, arepas stuffed with delicious fillings and fried anchovies! There is also a wine and beer garden!
There are many places to sit with amazing views of manhattan. There is also a free water station where you can fill up your cup and there are public porta pottys if your desperate.
This place is not cheap but the food is good and none of us got food poisoning. Would definitely come back.

Chilli french fried, oysters, ramen burgers, tons of veggie and vegan friendly stuff, tons of meats and crazy stuff. The only problem is you can't bring your beer outside the beer area.

What an amazing selection of culinary bliss. It was crowded and the lines were long, so we didn't get to try as much as we would have liked. However, what we ate was delicious. There is so much variety, even the most finicky of eaters will find something to eat. Great view, plenty of seats. The neighborhood of Williamsburg is cool to walk around.

Took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the offerings of the Smorgasbord food vendors at the 2017 summer location in Tribeca, which is open Friday to Sunday.
Lots of inspired food choices, including Goan style tacos (!?!), barbecue brisket sandwiches, freshly made lemonade and sweet tea, Thai food, sushi, ice cream sandwiches, etc, etc.
Food lines moved efficiently, everything we tried was super tasty, the only wrinkle was that it was tough to find a place to sit, especially anything that might have some shade on a blistering summer Saturday.
Pleased we didn't need to trek to Brooklyn on what was a whirlwind visit...

Check the weather before coming because if it is cold or windy the vendors don't come and the place is deserted. This is because their tents blow away. If that happens go to Artists and Fleas, an indoor flea market one block away, which has great vendors too.

As part of a Saturday wandering around Williamsburg/Brooklyn we came across this food market It is free to enter, has toilets onsite, plus a great view of the NYC across the river. There are lots of different types of food and drink, from various places around the world, but I ended up trying Bolivian Street Food. I would recommend this to foodies, especially if you are exploring the area.

Not only is the atmosphere so fun, the view is worth a million bucks. The food options are amazing and the service was great. I loved the variety and the different culture at every tent, prices were as expected but nothing beats the view sitting on the waters edge watching the sun go down over Manhattan!

This is just the most wonderful place. There is so much choice from a true carnivore to a vegan and from all corners of the world. The location is easy to access by subway and very pretty. It has endless stalls serving great food, is extremely clean and you can sit by the river and eat looking out on a view of the NYC skyline. Free cool water is available and there are bins everywhere so it stays tidy. We have narrowed down our favourites to the Brisket, the Lobster Roll and our very top choice is Beef Rib by Carnal, perfectly cooked and excellent value. That is a meat eater's paradise. We even took some home and it was still delicious re-heated. Don't miss out on this amazing market.

Just across the street from the apartment that we were staying. This was an unexpected find. They had about a hundred vendors with just about every type of food that you could ask for. Had Scotch Egg and Mofongo and the taste and quality were really good. Definitely a place to visit.

This market is a foodies heaven and if you are not crazy about food I am sure you will be after having visited Smorgasburg. Lots of booths with great food and also some new food trends like the spaghetti donut or banana pudding. We liked it so much we also went again on Sunday to the prospect park location. All in all we had the Mexican chalupas, matcha tea, the vegan burger, banana pudding, mango on a stick and mango lemonade, the buffalo chicken wings and some Indian street food. Of course there are a ton of other foods to try and we really wanted to but our stomachs simply couldn’t take it anymore. On another not there are vegetarian and vegan options but I feel like these communities are still underrepresented. Nonetheless this place is a “must visit” in my opinion.

My cousin suggested we try Smorgasburg and we followed his directions, not really knowing what to expect. What a fabulous food festival! We had just finished breakfast and instantly regretted that we had eaten only a short while before as we would have loved to have stuffed ourselves silly at Smorgasburg! There was such a wide variety of food, both savory and sweet. We ended up taking what we could to go, so we could indulge later on! It was a highlight of our trip to Brooklyn for certain!

Had a blast! Lots of different vendors and things to see. $1 per person to get in. Food court downstairs was awesome and had lots of non-traditional vendors.

Google map stated 2 different location. First, I went to the one on 90 Kent avenue and it’s closed. Understood, it’s winter. So after that I went to the 8th floor Kent avenue and food is literally next to nil. Looking for lobster rolls, fried chicken etc and was disappointed with the food options. So, I thought there might be a different smorgasburg event. True enough, a winter smorgasburg address popped up. This time, it’s 625 Atlantic ave. so I decided to head there seeing lobsters and oysterbk in the photos. Excited when I arrived and was told by people on the street they use to be there but closed for the season. It’s WRITTEN WINTER SMORGASBURG MARKET. All in all, I spent about $50 in Uber fees and couldn’t get a bite! You could at least update your details and location on google.. very disappointing! Came all the way from Australia for this. Never again. Tourists, stay away if you don’t want to waste your day chasing them around!

If you are a foodie and in the area this is definitely for you !! My only advice would be go on an empty stomach - my biggest problem was what to eat. I wanted it all
There is sooo much to choose from - chips, momos, lobster rolls ( the best ever), drinks, noodles, ramen, amazing desserts, oysters, ice cream sandwiches etc etc.
A MUST VISIT !!!

Would highly recommend taking an excursion to the smorgasbord in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It's a very cool experience! You can find just about any kind of food there is at the various stands. They have a phenomenal donut stand, and several great bbq stands. What I loved the most... The view of the Manhattan skyline.

Step one: arrive with a hungry group of foodies
Step two: order all the foods
Step three: eat a bite of all the foods
Step four: food coma
This was one of the highlights of our trip. Can't wait to go back for more.

We went twice in a week when visiting NYC and both times it was amazing. The food is all delicious, even just walking around and taking in the smells is enjoyable enough but then to top it off you can walk down to the river and look over at Manhattan. I’d strongly recommend the bao. Oh, all the stalls took Apple Pay too which is really handy.

This regular street fair is a great way to sample the fares of lots or establishments to see if you like a certain dish without getting a large portion. It's a fun atmosphere and a great way to pass a Saturday afternoon.

We visited the Smorgasburg following a family wedding and arrived just as the gates were opening. Tables are set up in the middle and after securing one for a family group of 14, we visited the food booths. Any food you could imagine was available and though a tad expensive, the lobster rolls were to die for!

A great variety of vendors, excellent food, and awesime atmosphere. Everything was very tasty (especially the lobster rolls, the frenchfries with various dipping sauces, and the macaroons). The only drawback was that some prices were pretty high for a street fair. All in all, a great way to spend your Sunday afternoon.

The place has many options of good food, from healthy to really good confort food. Also, you can eat the food by the river with an amazing view of the city.

Every city has food fests every now and then but NY has 2 every weekend, it's totally unfair!
I'm a real food fan myself so it was an absolutely great experience for me. There were at least 50 tents set up with various types of food. I guess many of them don't have their separate place in the city and just set up tent every weekend so people can try their creations.
The current hype seemed to be around Home Frites which is special french fries with different dippings. The line was too long so we went for Mighty Quinn's BBQ instead (I've read about this restaurant previously so it wasn't unknown at least) and we had the most amazing brisket sandwich (10$) ever, we are still talking about it.
The other one we had was El Gato's nachos with meat and salsa and it was also good. The portion was really big (unlike some other tents where they were giving away sample portions for the same price -10$). The nachos was clearly not pre-packed and the salsa/meat was nice too but not that special.
I think it's a definite must for any foodie!

It's a mecca of food concessions. From peking duck buns to corn on a cob to ramen burger, you name it. Hungry or just a curious type to try never-heard-of kind of food. Its just amazing. You will love it. And the crowd is a mix of people, fun vibe with a backdrop of the east river and manhattan. The area is easy to locate. Just take the L to Bedford Ave Station and walk (abt 10 mins) towards east at Kent St. Better yet use your google map. Be there with an empty stomach. Happy eating.

Worth a visit! We went to the one in Prospect park and tried lots of different food. We had a stuffed calamari, ramen burger, ice cream sandwich, and frozen Arnold Palmer. All very good, bring some cash- not all venders take card.

Ok, first get yourself good and hungry. Walk to east 34th and take the east river ferry to Williamsburg. Grab a beer on the ferry, cheapest in New York. Then follow the hipsters to food heaven. I mean this follow them, don't mix up Kent st and Kent Avenue if you do it's a short walk from Kent st to Kent av. Start by surveying the tents and make a plan do not miss the Carnal tent. Especially if your vegetarian, this will fix you.

I was so excited about coming here whilst on a trip to NYC as I'd read great things about it and am a real foodie. However, when we got there late afternoon, the place was just heaving. We had a wonder around but gave up trying to get any food and the queues were ridiculous. What we saw did look lovely and it is a shame we didn't get to try anything. I get the impression that popularity has grown massively over the years but they are still trying to squash everyone into a space that doesn't work.

Need I say more? ;)
Well okay then... great vibe, very busy and one of the most delicious dishes I have ever had! I don't know if I will ever be in NY again but if I am I am definitely going to SB!

For the sheer diversity of food, this deserves high praise, but mix in the quality and value, based on the portion size. It's spectacular. If going in a group I suggest diving and conquering by sharing some with companions as there seemed plenty to go round. You need repeat visits to do it real justice.

What is more foodie than Brooklyn right now? Hard to believe that Williamsburg became a destination for this flea market of food, but what a cool weekend destination for an alternative to waiting in line for brunch. You could walk for hours buying up tasty treats and snacks. Be careful if it calls for rain, most booths pack it in.

We came across to the Smorgasboard via the East River Ferry from Manhattan. The quality of the food places was great and I loved it that some of the stalls seem to be small sellers baking their own goods, rather than large food trucks. We got here around 12 noon and it was very busy but just 30 minutes later and the lines for each vendor were considerably longer. The earlier you can get here the better. Even though it was busy we didn't have any trouble finding a seat to sit and eat and look at the wonderful view across to Manhattan. Most places are cash only - I only noticed one sign that said 'we prefer cards'.

Visited on Saturday noon time
What a great variety of food, meet, oysters lobsters, Mexican, Asian what not
Great experience for couple of hours, make sure you bring cash as well

This appealed to my gluttonous side. Loads of tasty things to eat. We ate fabulous fried chicken, taco's and pizza. My only regret is that I don't have a second stomach to pack in more. There were at least three more dishes I wanted to try.

The food was good but expensive. The place gets very full, but it is a nice place to visit and relax on a nice summer day.(weekends only)

Smorgasburg is worth going to but is an exercise in frustration. Best make it a shared exercise, with friends or family, so you can commiserate, and also so you can share whatever you manage to get. Otherwise, if you like food, it’s frustrating to see so many interesting possibilities but only have one stomach!
Really, it is a fun and festive atmosphere, with dozens of food stalls all side by side, but on a Saturday early afternoon in Williamsburg, was so crowded that I found it a little uncomfortable. You can tell the really popular dishes by the lines outside of them… and yet, it’s so crowded, the lines are pretty disorderly. I really wanted to try a Puerto Rican pork dish that seemed really popular, but was told that the wait was 20 minutes, so I bypassed.
But what to try, with Asian-inspired tacos, Indian-wrapped burritos, pasta doughnuts, Philly cheese-steak, lobster rolls, water dessert, fried mozzarella, BBQs, and fast food from Venezuela, Bolivia and China. The dumplings place and Asian pancake place looked really popular, also the ice cream place where the construct the shavings into rolls. I was almost tempted to try my first ramen burger. Finally, after wandering around with a Kombucha on tap (flavour: maté mojito), I chose an Asian popcorn fried chicken in a spring onion pancake. It was delicious.
I’d be curious whether the feel to the Park Slope location is any different. In any case, it was a fun Brooklyn experience and the weather was glorious and sunny (finally).

Visited the smorgasbord for the third time and was never disappointed. A variety of food stands with an array if options.
Food is not cheap as it should be but not that expensive. You can get a good lunch for about 12$ -15$.
The good thing is that even a party of five everyone can find something for them.

It's a food market in Brooklyn. As a matter of fact, it's a hell of a good street food market and basically that's all you need to know. It's pretty easy to get there from Manhattan, but get there early and eat a bit more than you think you can before everyone else arrive. And then walk a lot in Williamsburg, worth it.

It was definitely busy, especially starting at like 1:00 or 1:30. Despite that, there is so much food to pick from, both traditional and non traditional. The lines weren't bad and the vendors moved pretty quickly. Prices were a bit on the high side but not crazy. We tried tons of stuff, including the unicorn ice cream churro, the giant donuts, spaghetti donuts, vegan burgers, garlic fries, etc. All delicious! Could visit ten times and try something different every time.

We visited during summer. Lots of great food options. Loved the unusual things like the raindrop cake. Some stalls were very overpriced. There were no lines earlier In the morning but it got busy from 12pm onwards. There is not a lot of shade - so lots of people competing for spots under trees. Bring a hat and suncream! Great views across the river. Tip: go early, bring cash and don't eat breakfast beforehand!

Nice place to go on a sunny day in Williamsburg. We enjoyed the tacos, oysters, fresh teas and yakitori. Amazing food next to the water is hard to beat. Free to enter is a bonus!

Hard to describe except bring your appetite to this incredible food festival in Brooklyn. Just returned from a few hours of outdoor amazement. My son and I shared two orders and a drink, from a Cuban place and a Poke food stand. Despite the crowds it is still easy to find a shared table or curb to sit, as everyone is coming and going back to try different options. The portions are larger than just bites, and nothing seems ordinary.
I will remember this place for as long as I live!

Arrive for a late breakfast and stay through until dinner. There are so many different things to try here you'll want to sample as many as possible. From fresh oysters to Malaysian to ice-cream sandwiches this place is a great start to your weekend.

Highly anticipated visit was met with loads and loads of food with swarms of people. The food stalls were plentiful but the lines were long and prices quite expensive. Still worth a visit and great views of the NYC skyline.

I went to this food festival this April. Amazing selection of food, despite a few stands are very expensive. I tried from Asian cuisine to "local" American, desserts, organic specialties and many more.
Important suggestion: try to go as early as possible. Around lunch time the place get so packed that it's impossible to walk around!
Definitely worth a visit!!!

We stumbled across this place by chance and luckily we had not had lunch!!
We had an awesome time here. The choice of food is remarkable and there is something for everyone. The range of treats and eats left me struggling to decide what to eat. Ended up plumping for Philly cheesesteak truffles, an Asian ramen burger and Colombian sausage. My wife had a piece of cake that she simply summed up as the best piece of cake she has ever eaten. There is so much choice!!
The views looking right over onto Manhattan are fantastic and it makes for a wonderful backdrop. It's free to get in and something for all ages and groups. It's free to get in and near the subway. Go hungry and enjoy.

This artisan food market has prime position in Williamsburg, set in a wide space on the river with a narrow beach looking across to midtown Manhattan. Very chilled out vibe although extremely busy. Lots of interesting things to eat and drink - nothing particularly cheap but everything we tried was worth it - particularly the ice cream from Blue Marble. Get the ferry if you can (though was too busy when we tried to use it for our return). ATMs available (though most places take card) plus free water inside the market area which was useful.

It really was a different type of food festival, many different options (ramen burgers, coconut filled icecream etc), everything tasted delishes.
It is expansive though! Be prepared to pay anywhere from $10-20 for every "sample" and you will probably have about 5-6 of them :)

Good spot to go in. Brooklyn but a bit too crowded for me after. Drinks bing there. Easier to go to. Eatery in New York etc. yet a good choice for those. Who live in kings county. Good for eating tourists anxious. To try new worlds delights and go with others to get a full happening.

Where to begin...the smells, sights, and sounds make this truly a sensual experience. There is everything from vegan to carnivore available and at reasonable prices. If you are unsure of a dish, ASK about it. Try things you've never had. The butternut squash doughnuts are really good. They are cake, not yeast doughnuts. Take a parasol or umbrella and sunscreen as there's not a lot of shade. Buy water from a vendor outside the park. Split the food with someone in your party and try twice or 3 times as much that way. Walk to the riverbank and look at the sights. Be prepared to spend several hours there. It is an experience you won't forget.

It's crowded, but the food stalls here are fabulous! Loved the huge donuts, breakfast on a stick, frozen cheesecake pops, fried mozzarella, and wood fired pizza. Ramen burgers and lobster roll booths had longer lines than most. Have never seen a Filipino Lumpia booth before. Nice to take the ferry from Manhattan over. Could use more shade, seating and live music!

We caught the East River ferry from Midtown to Nth Williamsburg for USD6. Smorgasburg was located a short stroll to the left of the jetty. We arrived just after 11am on a beautiful sunny spring saturday and did a lap around to look at everything before deciding what we were having. If you are a foodie then you will be spoiled for choice. Make sure you have plenty of cash and that you arrive early to avoid the lines for favourites like Ramen Burger and Home Frite. Once you have made your choice(s) walk down by the water and enjoy the view of Manhattan before wandering around town to take in the neighbourhood.

Went for the first time to this feast for foodies a couple of weekends ago. Fabulous selection of different than usual food, just be prepared to bring cash and be prepared for the crowds as well as standing and eating on the spot. If you're not fond of crowds, I'd suggest skipping it, and finding a restaurant to watch the passing hipster Brooklyn scene.

Went here recently with my fiancee, and there are so many options to choose from. You can look at their website to see what places will be available, but some places end up having ridiculously long lines, aka the Ramen Burger, which my fiancee wanted to get but we didn't want to wait. I ended up getting a Smoked Brisket sandwich, Thai chicken skewers along with Thai iced coffee and then a Almond Dulce De Leche donut. We also took free photobooth pics which was cool. There is going to be a smaller version of Smorgasburg in LIC, Queens this July and we are sure we are going to go to that one as well.

I'm from England and so things like outdoor food markets of this magnitude are hard to find so I was really excited. It was a great experience, the food was so yummy, the view was stunning. I spent roughly 2 or 3 hours there, walked about and saw what stalls there were and what food/drink they offered before deciding what to get - which took a while as everything looked good - and taking a seat at the benches, eating with a beautiful view of Manhattan. Really was a great experience, will definitely go again!

The Smorgasburg experience was great. Plenty of choices for food from all types of cuisine. I will be sure to visit again in another year or so to see what's new!

If you like food, especially unusual food that you are not going to get anywhere else, get yourself to Smorgasburg in Brooklyn. Go early - some lines get crazy - and take a blanket so you can spread out on the grass in the park and enjoy your purchases. There is way too much goodness to suggest vendors but definitely go hungry.

I've been there on a windy day but even so it was a worthwhile experience. Good and exquisite simple alternatives of food. I recommend it.

Went at 3:00 today and there were very short lines! Go with a group and share single orders so you can try as much as possible!

Great views of NYC skyline. Pretty crowded but still enough space to walk around and find a seat. Food is expensive though so be prepared to pay. More expensive than your typical food cart. Some of the stuff was pretty good like the Thai chicken and the mozzarella sticks but a lot of stuff was average at best (ramen burger wasn’t great and cheesesteak was bad)

Cash only. A little expensive but similar to say a food truck. We tried three booths and everything was great. Ramen burger was delicious. We tried the Parmesan frites with lemon aioli and it was so good. Also tried two flavors of ring dings, Nutella and pb&j. The pb&j was phenomenal!! The Nutella mostly tasted like chocolate. Still good. So many booths to choose from

If you are in Brookyln - even if you aren't - and you love food -get to Smorgasburg. Tonnes of delicious food options.. id suggest sharing so you can try as many things as possible! The food is fresh and good quality
Its busy. real busy, i was quite surprised by the small area that everyone was crammed into.. but its all part of the fun!
Cash points are available, but be prepared and take cash
Afterwards.. head over to the Ides bar for some STUNNING views of the Manhattan skyline and some libations!
PERFECT SATURDAY

So glad I got to check this out. They have so many different styles of cuisines and everything is quite affordable. Would recommend everyone in your group getting different stuff and then trying everything. Beer is available but you need to stay in a certain area to drink it. This place also has amazing views of the Hudson with the city skyline in the background. Also very close to Brooklyn Brewery for some post drinks.

Don't stay in the crowd but take the cab, bike, ferry or whatever to visit the other side of the river and enjoy the biggest open air food market of New York. There are more than 100 local foodcorners with different dishes. I advice you to make a round before you choose what you want. Get your dish and on a Sunny day lay down on the side of the river and enjoy the view to Manhattan. Be aware that some lanes are longer than they look like.

I’ve been here 2 years ago and have been dreaming of coming back ever since. There is a great selection and variety of food offered and everything is extremely tasty and looking great. There’s a bunch of unique stuff: I was particularly excited about the ramen burgers. You can easily spend the day here, eating slowly everything, hanging out by the river with an amazing view. One of the best things New York has to offer!!

Great way to spend Saturday with some delicious local food vendors and craft beers. Views of Manhattan and East River breeze add a great touch to this fun location :)

Not worth the time. Inconvenient and isolated location. Very unimpressive and overpriced junk food which can be found anywhere.

What's not to like about an entire burg of food stalls? We went with a group and each bought multiple items, all shared to maximize the tasting. We were way too impatient to stand on the crazy long line for the ramen burgers. My fave was the chicken dumpling from the dumpling stand but get a lot of napkins!

Great variety of food and options for vegans, vegetarians, and the rest of us... Located right in DUMBO, it's a super convenient location. No dogs allowed, tho

It's all here - name your delicacy! From Maine lobster to fries, from duck confit to health nut shakes this is your lunch spot on weekends! Now I know this sounds weird but we had the fries and OMG! Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inner - with dipping sauces that were out of this world. Crowded, as expected, and limited seating are the only drawbacks. Go forth and eat...

I visited here on April. The weather was fantastic, so it really helped the whole experience! Here I was able to try the Ramen Burger for the first time, and gosh, how I loved it!
I also tried some fantastic Buffalo Wings, a BEC Sandwich, Dough's donuts and some fancy Mac and Chees. But I wish I had more space in my stomach to try some more stuff! Anyway, I loved coming here with my girlfriend, the accessibility is great and the infrastructure too!

Really enjoyed the Smorgasburg - visited on a Saturday so it was right beside the East River - great selection of food vendors and lovely views across to Manhattan.

Coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, I thought we were pretty up-to-date on food fads. 10 minutes going through Smorgasberg proved all of that wrong. I saw Cambodian and Puerto Rican food, neither of which have exploded as ethnic foods. There were raindrop cakes, unicorn waffle cones, quail eggs on a stick, and more. If you’re a foodie, it is worth the trip to get a quick peek at what the country is going to be eating next year.

i loove this place ! it has a great variety of food vendors ! some of my favs are the Gooey Cake stall and the FatFries ! they are to die for !
the market is by the water and has a great view of the manhattan skyline! makes it a great spot for a weekend picnic!
Highly recommended for tourists as well. a great way to see local NYC flavor!

At this food fair you will find food from many places and countries, Mexico, China, Japan, Argentina, China, among others. I went mostly to try the Ramen Burger, which was delicious. A succulent burger on a 'bun' made of grilled ramen. The Japanese style gravy is aweaome. A bit expensive dur to the small size, compared to other great food you get there, but it is worth every one of the twelve dollars. You will need more than one to feel satisfied. I would definitely go back there when at NYC on a Saturday.

A fantastic day of eating by the water. Lots of different food stalls and the view of Manhattan is fantastic!

What an awesome place! There are so many different booths to choose from and foods from all over the world. The crowd of people it attracts is also very nice. Everyone's just happy!

This was a fun experience. It is a great place for crowd watching, as well as the opportunity to eat a huge variety of foods. We settled for Jon's Juice which was a pineapple hollowed out to be the juice container. Lovely on a warm day. It is definitely a great place if you are hungry and want to try foods that are a bit ordinary or a bit unordinary!

went on a fine sunny day and this was a good place to see a different side to NYC. Lots of food choices (inc vegan) and some stalls took card/Apple Pay. Worth looking around for the bargain stalls though, as some are a bit pricey.

My daughter lives in Brooklyn and picked this experience for our family since we all enjoy food. This event goes on rain or shine. We arrived and made our way around to marvel at the variety of food vendors and to try to make our food selections. Give yourself time to slow down and enjoy your food and some great views of the Manhattan skyline.

If you are a foodie, you can not visit NYC and miss Smorgasburg.
Smorgasburg is a food festival; loads of foodstrucks and vendors selling delicious food.
I had a tasty boa bun (ci bao) and good dumplings (cant remember the name).
Do remember it stops early (6-ish?).
Bonus: amazing view of Manhattan!

Huge selection of food and drink stalls to choose from. Good views over the water to Manhatten. Very pricey though!

So much to eat. So many different foods from all over the world. Tried the infamous ramen burger - yum! There were so many good eats I can't remember them all. Great lemonade too. Well worth a visit. Make sure your hungry and bring cash.

Went with a friend who also enjoys eating. Great sunny day and it was pretty busy for late morning.
Started with a chorizo scotch egg, followed by beef short rib and a Indian flavoured taco. All were full of flavour and very filling.
Walked around Williamsburg after to work off the food. Too hipster (and too much like my neighbourhood at home) but it was a beautiful day so had to maximize outdoor time.

We arrived about 11 15 for half an hour before going on the brooklyn brewery Tour.
A good decision as while we were ther the queues visibly grew.
So go early and head staright for the obviously busy stalls to enjoy unusual juices and a wide variety of food - bao being our favourite

Walk around and soak up all the choices first - block your urge to stop "here!" and buy something to eat right away, because shortly you will see something else you want. I kept saying over and over "I could eat here for a week if they were here every day!" Our party of three finally zeroed in on Vietnamese bao duck sandwich, New Orleans pulled pork, Caeser chicken wrap, and curried beef (Indian, right?) served in a crispy taco (Mexican, right?). Finished off with a shared hand-crafted Ring Ding (big enough for two on the drive home, but not three!).Great environment, great food, unbelievable options, and I'm really jealous we don't have something like it in Boston!

Not great for celiac though. Also go early to avoid swarms of people and long lines. Otherwise it's so nice to get food and sit by the water, the beach is so nice and it feels like you're somewhere exotic

Come experience a place where you can encounter an endless amount of food vendors along the East River. This food festival is open every weekend from April to October and is family friendly. It is a must, if you are in NYC.

I think it is worthwhile to try, but it can get very crowded with not a lot of seating. We went on a sunny day, and there is no shade. Some of the stalls had very long lines. I didn't feel you got a lot of food for what you spent, but the food we did have there was good.

This is just great fun as gastro-fests go. A wide variety of different foods, a beautiful, easily accessible setting. If the weather is nice, I can't think of a more fun thing for a food lover to do on a Saturday afternoon in all of New York, let alone Brooklyn.
(I do think this is miscategorized as "an attraction", there's nothing to see, it's food, food, food!)

This is a really nice place, especially if you love food... There is a really nice vibe and nice view

I absolutely love this place and will 100% visit this place everytime i'm going to New York. What a fantastic food market with so many different foodie spots. I wish it was open everyday and not only saturday in Williamsburg.. I love it!

Had a nice lunch while passing through Williamsburg. Mixed crowd, young and old and pretty crowded. After walking around once I decided to choose the lobster roll (pricey at $17.00 for the size but tasty. Then got on a 15 min line for truffle fries. They were tasty but soggy, not crispy as advertised. For dessert went to dough and took some home. Passion fruit with chips being my favorite. Noticed they had these beautiful looking whole mangoes on a stick that I might try next time. The choices were huge from Mexican to Thai, even Greek food. I noticed a stall for shishito peppers. Wonder how well they do. If you just want dessert they had moon pies, cookies and even milk free ice cream. Wish there were more benches to sit and it would have been nice if someone maintained the water front a little more. It feels unkept which is a shame since the view is beautiful.

A food market lots of different stalls with fast food, desserts and drinks. There really is a lot of choice and large areas to sit and eat on. Beautiful and very nice surroundings.

Please do go here! It's a bit of a hassle to get here with the ferry that only goes once every half an hour and is always late but it is so worth the trip. The food is very good and eating it while soaking up the views across Manhattan is superb. I would say this is a must do when visiting New York. Also mostly locals here which is always a nice bonus.

A must visit for any foodie!! So many great flavors to sample of all types. Great place to grab a great meal and have a picnic with the view of NYC skyline!

You can get various types of ethnic food there. I ate "Mofongo" which was made by chicken, corn, source.. anyway that's Dominican food, and bought some granola, and lemonade. Additionally, I could see a nice view of Manhattan from the Brooklyn side.

Came here with my best friend and we tried a few of the stands. There is such a selection. Anyone can find a great here! And the view of Manhattan is incredible. Highly recommend coming and spending and afternoon here!

What a culinary delight! Went in thinking it was going to be more like a flea market, but i was wrong.
Great selection of different cuisines and different food from fried chicken to Jamaican to Vietnamese to bbq ( many others such as shanghainese, Indian) as well.
Also tonnes of dessert choices as well as soda / lemonade and fruit juices. Got the raindrop cake and the roll n chill ice cream, liked the latter much better.
Couldn't eat all of the food there even though I wanted to, will def be back, so much to try! Plus there's a little beach by the east river and lots of places to sit and eat. Try to come early!

Smorgasburg is something that all need to experience. Their are so many amazing different options with a great view of the water in Williamsburg and in the Brooklyn bridge location. I prefer the Williamsburg location because I find it easier to get to. Make sure to have cash on you, because they don't take cards

This food market is unbelievable.
So many different vendors displaying a wide range of cuisines.
We had a Goa taco which was delicious, followed by a ribs and then a philly cheese steak sandwhich, all of which was great.
Even better is the view of NYC while you eat

What a great way to spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon! Food choices and food quality were fantastic! If you want the Ramen Burger.....get there early or be prepared to stand in line. I did not stand if line but they looked great. There were plenty other choices...I had a Tofu taco that was unbelievable and a Shrimp Noodle Bowl that was good.
Decent beer garden with a few choices of beer ( 4-5)

Our 2nd time. They've grown since last year. Fun experience. Large variety of food choices, some pretty exotic. The diversity is huge. This is not your average street food. Prices are a little high, but not extraordinary given the New York location. Can be crowded at times but people watching is part of the fun. Bring cash. Easy to get to, just a few blocks from the Whythe/Bedford St main drags.

This seasonal market on the Williamsburg waterfront offers independent vendors with all types of unusual and creative dishes ... all with a great view of Manhattan !
A foodie must!
Appropriate for couples, young families and pets.
Open Saturdays in good weather.

Wow, this was such a delight! We savored tacos, brisket, fries, cheesesteak, pork sandwich, ice cream, sweets, and a cheesecake pop! This is a must!!

The food is kind of expensive, but there are some great options (please, please, try the Scotch Egg) and a nice view from Manhattan

We travelled across from Manhattan on the East River Ferry - a great way to arrive.
We went on a Sunday and arrived around 30 mins after opening. It was the perfect time as it turned out: we were able to spend an hour or so touring the stalls and trying a few dishes which ranged from delicious classics like fried chicken and cheesesteak to the downright bizarre (savoury pasta donuts anyone?).
Importantly we never queued for more than a few minutes and we were able to find tables to sit down and enjoy the food looking back across the river to Manhattan. By the time we left (around 12.30), the lines were getting really long for everything so make sure you go for a late breakfast or early lunch!

Fantastic afternoon out with the family . A food lovers dream. Enjoy the delights of the NY street food scene. Enjoy your food fare on the grass and soak up the view.
Try a fresh mango on a stick calved into a flower. Prices are ok. Get there early as the queues get long. Walk to the flea market up the road .
Heaps of funky shops around the market to browse through.
Definitely worth a visit.

Not all of them necessarily healthy, but they mostly looked and smelled delicious, and you have the option of eating it under a big tented space or on the narrow strip of beach facing Manhattan. The lines can be long, but the vendors seem to be prepared for it, and keep things moving along. We were probably about twenty deep in the line for Ramen Burgers, but had our burgers within about ten or fifteen minutes.

We visited this place on the recommendations of a couple of friends and Lonely Planet. The day was too hot, the place was too crowded and the lines were just too long. Some of the stalls were good but some of the highly rated dishes weren't that good. The best part of the visit was sitting by the riverside!

I came here thinking it would be something like street food in Southeast Asia. I have to admit there's a lot of cuisine choices. But the prices are like sit- down restaurant prices.Even the Jamaican jerk chicken is expensive.Beers are like $6. You can't walk away with it. You must drink it near the alcohol booth. You might as well walk a few blocks back on North 7 Street and buy a few beers from the corner store then go home and drink.
This place is super crowded. If you don't find the food you're looking for you might find someone to suit your interest because it's so crowded. The nice thing is you have a great view of the Manhattan skyline. It's a big difference from the old days when I would go down to Kent Ave those piers were full of garbage. Now it's called the East River State Park.
Best thing you can sit on the grass and take in the view. Maybe when the prices drop to what should be reasonable I will come buy some food. Until then I will cook my own or Chinese food is always a good price.

Me and a friend visited this outside food court on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The variety of food selections were cool and hard to choose what to pick. I'm usually choose a spot to try based on how long the lines are because I know people will wait for something that is good. Like others have already mentioned, bring cash and lots of it because the prices weren't cheap. I was looking forward to tasting small samples of different vendors but settled on two and bookmarked others to try later. We tried some bruffins which were muffins combined with different ingredients and they were okay. We also had an icecream sandwich. It was crowded all over and we sat in the grass and enjoyed our eats and took advantage of the sunny day. I'll definitely come back and will get there early to check out some other vendors.

There's no denying that Smorgasburg symbolises Williamsburg's hip and trendy status and that the range of food on offer is phenomenal. But when you're surrounded by thousands of people - most of them in colossally long queues for food - and there's garbage strewn everywhere, you have to question if it's worth it.
My answer is resoundingly no, it is not.

Walked this place on a hot Brooklyn day. Over 100 vendors serving up specialties from Pork rolls, sliders, donuts, fresh coconuts, ramen burgers, corn, Hawaiian pokè and foods from Africa and South America. Place is awesome.

Eat yummy food while enjoying gorgeous views of the Manhattan skyline and observing the Brooklynites in their native environment.

A great food market on the banks of East river. So many different foods from all over the world. The best doughnuts ever, poutine, bao, pizza, mozza and more. Hint: bathrooms are gross so go before if you can

Excellent choices of food but a bit too crowded and you need to stay in line for some of it, But than you get your food and you seat in fort of this amazing view of Manhattan... and that's really all you need !! whenever I'm in NY I will defiantly visit again !

Smorgasburg is one of the best things NYC has to offer right now, the food is incredible and the whole idea is great. This one is my least favorite though because it is smaller than the Prospect Park one, and is ore crowded, or the old Brooklyn Bridge Park one. By either way they're both great!

Go enjoy the various food and drink stalls down by the river. Great atmosphere and crowds lining up for the most popular treats. Try the lobster rolls, addictive!

Williamsburg is such an awesome part of the city, such a blend of society and culture. Smorgasburg really highlights the culture of the neighbourhood in food terms. Anyone with the slightest interest in eating sustenance will love it. Such a wide range of delicious food and drink options in an amazing setting with the East River and Manhattan in the background.

It's full on chaos...people everywhere (check my pics below and apparently this was a light crowd!?!) and street food concept galore! From Asian inspired, you name it Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese etc (apologies for a culture I did not name, but I'm sure it's there) to "American", Mexican, pub grub, you name it is there. Also unique fusion or just plain crazy concoctions like Ramen Burger?!? Go early and expect to wait in line for the more popular vendors (try over an hour for Ramen Burger)!

Lots of people... 35-45 booths with variety of food vendors... there are lines to some of the booths as mentioned in other reviews... and nice view on Manhattan. Prices are around $9-12 for sandwiches, burgers. No entry charge. One can spend there 30 min-1 hour...

Six of us tried a bunch of different things.
Ramen Burger – Huge line, strange “burger”. Felt like I was eating hamburger with ramen. Oh wait… was. I missed the bun.
Duck Season – Season Sandwich: Duck confit on brioche bun with nice garnishes. Me liked, others didn’t (I think you either like duck or you don’t. I do.)
Might Quinn’s BBQ – Pulled Pork and Brisket mini-wiches. Both very good with nice slaws and appropriately sauced.

On the basis of a local's advice we took the ferry across to the Smorgasburg at Williamsburg on a Saturday afternoon. This place is a foodies paradise with so much to choose from! Really a great family atmosphere and for the price of a $6.00 ferry ticket just the best fun you can have on a shoe string. We wandered into the local areas after lunch and went nuts at the flea market complete with local jazz musicians and artists. A memorable afternoon in this best kept local secret area.

Found this totally by accident and what a little gem! Make a beeline for Mighty Quinn's pulled pork or the ramen burgers, but come hungry as there are loads of great stalls.

If you like food and don't mind the crowd this is where you can try so much in so little time. The only problem is too many choice and not enough room in your stomach.

The market is situated in a beautiful old bank so make sure you look up and admire the amazing ceiling. The stalls are really eclectic with a range of retro and new items - really interesting to browse. Due to the season the market was all inside but not overly crowded. Our group tried four different food stalls and they were all great with really yummy, tasty options. Definitely recommend this.

This is one of the most unique experiences in all of NYC. Tons of vendors with nothing usual in the food category. No necessarily the healthiest fare but yummy at every turn. From spaghetti donuts to lobster, and fried foods of every assortment. The prices were reasonable. The only caution for all is the crowd. We arrived around noon and it was hard to walk but worth the navigation. Come hungry and with cash. Not all vendors take CC. Also, do take advantage of the vendors selling $1 bottles of water just outside the gate.

Can not agree what to eat for lunch? At Smorgasburg you can pick what you like and eat your self through the whole world in an afternoon. We love it! Yes is outside and it was moist at our last vist - but never the less it was great to take the lunch here.

Amazing smells and food to match!!!! Had to share with my husband so we could try a few different stalls!!! Recommend highly.

I had read a lot about this place som my expectations were high.
As a reult of this, as always, I got disappointed.
Crowded. Long lines. A lot of smoke and burned meat in the stalls.
If this wasn’t enough it was also very expensive.
I ended up not eating anything at Smorgasburg. I went to Shake Shack instead.

If you are in Williamsburg - and love food - you gotta go til the Smorgasburg. In an rather small area you will find food tents serving all kinds of delicious food in all varieties - really representing the New York melting pot of nationalities. The food is fresh and good quality at very fair prices. I had grilled squid at a japanese stand - it was mouthwatering delicious. Be prepared for a lot of people, but service is quick. You will find tables and benches on the lot next to the food area. Remember cash as they do not take cards any where there.

This is a great place to stop for lunch, especially if you're with a group of people with varied food preferences - there's something for everyone! Plus it's hard to beat the beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline.
I had the tofu satay from Bamboo Bites and the lemongrass lime soda from Brooklyn Soda Works. Highly recommend both!
If you're coming from Manhattan, I recommend taking the East River Ferry over! Much more scenic than the subway, and the breeze off the water felt great on a hot day. You can pick it up at E. 34th Street and it only cost $6 for a weekend single ride.
Downsides: sub-optimal bathroom situation, and it can get pretty crowded on a nice day.

Calling all Foodies and hungry people! You must visit Smorgasburg, open outdoors at East River State Park every Saturday and Sunday, 11am-6pm, during the good weather months. I was completely overwhelmed on first arriving, so we decided to take a walk around all the vendors before making a decision about where to purchase food. The variety is quite amazing. Finally, food in hand we settled at a picnic table - there is quite a lot of table seating but be aware that most of the tables do not have any shade, so bring sunscreen and a hat. We very much enjoyed our meal choices. Note that there are several vegan and vegetarian options. Prices are reasonable. There is a fantastic view of the New York skyline.

Every Satuday, this venue in N. Williamsburg explodes with food purveyors with creative new dishes, and even more creative names. There is a heavy concentration of Asian fare, with main dishes, novelties and side dishes and desserts that prove that every good menu can find an audience. The market dynamic that offering tasty and well presented dishes will ensure commercial success.
People watching is an additional bonus, with young couples with infants, mingle with residents and European and Asian tourists. Picnic tables are located in the rear.
There is also a decent variety of flea market vendors with imported articles of clothing, novelties, casual furniture and also a variety of meaningless articles .

What a great collection of food vendors EVERY Saturday from April until November. Tons of vendors, the website says 100, with some amazing food from their menus. No entrance fee, and relatively inexpensive. Beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline and a nice grassy area where you can sit and enjoy the delicious food offerings. Some of the lines can be a little long. There are ATM locations on site just in case you eat a little more than you planned. Also good to note that a few vendors seemed to be having issues with credit card machines on the day we visited so cash was needed. Definitely would recommend Gao Taco, Grilled Lobster on garlic noodles from Lobsterdamus, Mexican shaved ice (chamoyada), and the incredible Ramen burger with the bun made of ramen noodles. Even a few places offering adult beverages. Go spend a few hours, sample the great food, and enjoy the outdoors.

I met up with my friend from Brooklyn in anticipation of sampling many delicious foods. There is so much to choose from, so it's hard to know which one offers the best fare for your money. I had some amazing truffle fries from one spot and the worst "Philly" cheese steak from another, so the quality varies quite a bit. Sticky buns were pretty good and the lumpia was ok. The place is packed, and it was raining when we went. Everything is at least $10 a pop, cash only. There is an ATM outside of the gate. Nice views of the water. Flea market next door was nice to wander through. Overall, I wasn't that impressed after all the hype. Maybe we just picked the wrong stalls. One thing I noticed, if there is no line, it's probably not good. I learned that the hard way. I do wish I would've tried the ramen burger, but the line was insane and our stomachs were at capacity. If you're in the area, its worth a stop, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

A great Saturday market in Williamsburg! They have just about any food item you could want! Donuts, fruit, pretzels, lobster rolls, fushion, amazing cookies, watermelon lemonade! Great selections for vegetarian and vegan too. Local small business market.

I went here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with some friends and a lot of hunger. We sampled a number of the booths - especially enjoyed the pulled pork and dumplings. Wish I had had room for more —- everything that we sampled was great. Only down side was that it was a bit crowded and relatively expensive . Eg, for four dumplings we paid $10! They also need to provide more drink options. However, the whole thing had a great vibe and definitely worth the venture out to Brooklyn. Also, make sure to walk down onto the “beach” with amazing views over to Pittsburgh

If you're a foodie, this is a great place to visit! If you're not a foodie, this is still a great place to visit. Every single thing I ate here was outstanding! The best cheese sticks I ever had! We also bought jewelry and paintings here. You also have a great view of the Manhattan skyline. Don't miss it!!

We came because of the super reviews.
We also came early and were one of the first there. Looked like a foodies dream.
Disclaimer - we had only 2 dishes.
We had the "hand cut chips" from one vendor, which looked great and "Panang pulled pork" from another vendor, which also looked good. Both were 3/5. Not super bad but not great or worth the ~9$ price tag.
New york has great food, not sure it's here though.

My only complaint is that I couldn't try it all. So many delicious options from all over the world. Enjoy your meal(s) and take in the beautiful cityscape of Manhattan.

Lots of delicious foods to choose from! All over the globe food experiences! Quality vendors. It adds up if you hop stall to stall so make sure to come with that plan in mind. Get the food and then find a place by the river to enjoy your finds! Lots of people! White tents, grassy areas so wear the right shoes! Stroller friendly!

The thing that makes this food market different is the location. We visited on a Saturday and the location, right next to the river, was very cool. It is also good that they offer free water and are trying to go plastic free. There's lots to choose from in terms of the food, but the selection is no different to any other international food market you've visited. We visited something very similar in Copenhagen and used to always go to Borough Market when we lived in London, and both were better food wise than Smorgasburg, but we still really enjoyed our trip here and recommend you see if it's on when you visit Brooklyn.

This is honestly a great place to try a little bit of everything. You must come here with a very empty stomach, you will want to buy something from every food stand there is. Is heaven for foodies. Definitely not cheap thou. You will find unique food but it does come with a price. Spring and summer is the time to wait so you can experience the fair of flavour and cultures colliding in Williamsburg.

So we were all excited for this day to try all the cool foods...i was pretty much in shock to find out that the peeps that run the venue have zero people that are assigned to food safety...If anyone has read my posts it is apparent that i am in the business...so i will not go into this...
each stand employees next to no reasonable food safety standards...plastic gloves are not the answer to all food safety issues...you can't handle food and money with plastic gloves and think that this is OK...it is not!
The only stand that was clean was Mofongo....the rest needed to be closed down.
Anyway....I want to talk about one in particular...the Wowfuls....so i have my daughter with me that had to have one of these things...
the line is 40+ people deep...i knew i was in for it....they had 7 waffle irons so it should go pretty quick....nope!...the batter recipe is not correct...there is not enough butter in the recipe...the kids can't get the finished product out of the iron's....they are struggling...
They are also not spraying the iron's with cooking spray in-between each waffle.
By accident the vendors are making a killing .....but at whose expense....after 1hr 20 minutes we received the waffle...that was not fun nor enjoyable on any level...
note to owner of the stand: fix your recipe - it needs more butter or oil - your choice - the waffles will fall out of the irons and the line will move twice as fast.
also....reconfigure your stand to bring in 7 more waffle irons....and earn twice as much money...
it was painful to watch these owners not move people and take money....
they are always busy...you would think they would figure out how to move their lines...
last comment:
ice cream sandwich guys....smiles are free, and if you hate being there...then don't be there...the attitude is screaming thru the line that is 50 deep....life can be worse!!

Smorgasburg is a perfect place to be if you like food. There are a lot of stands that sell foods and drinks and you can sit by the river and enjoy the food and the view of Manhattan! Perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

Just about anything your stomach desires. Breakfast - omelet sandwiches, donuts, coffees...Lunch - burgers, tacos, ribs, wings, egg rolls, mac & cheese, grilled cheese, cheese balls, stick of corn...Dinner - brisket, lobster...Deserts - ices, ice cream, bonbons, cream puffs, fruits on sticks, honey combs, macaroons, cookies...and there are Drinks too...Then you can sit a while on the beach and look at Manhattan!

So many choices of food from all over the world. We had to take a few laps around the place before we could start ordering :) Each of our choices were quite good. Definitely come with plenty of CASH as food isn't cheap and you're going to want to try many things. If you come in the summer, be prepared for the heat and sun. The views of Manhattan are a great way to enjoy your food.

Sorry, I just can't justify over an hour in a queue for a ramen burger. The market is packed with what look like amazing food stalls but all the good ones have massive queues. However, the more popular stalls have secondary locations at a mini-version of the market at South Street Seaport. So just go there, grab a beer and you can try the ramen burgers, lobster rolls and more.

Well worth a visit - grab a table and have a few small things from all the great food stalls. Decent prices and really good food. Everything from ribs to thai to ice cream to craft beer. What more do you want!?!?!

I finally got to experience this Williamsburg staple with a couple friends last month and it did not disappoint. It’s all outdoors at East River State Park, and you’re free to wander through all the passageways of food vendors and take your pick of a global sampling of cuisines. There are picnic benches you can sit at, but it was an extremely hot July day when we went for lunch, so we opted to sit in the shade under the trees down by the river, where it was at least 15 degrees cooler. It’s a fun way to enjoy a meal if you’re in Brooklyn, and a nice option if you want to say you’ve been to Williamsburg.

We went to this street food festival on a beautiful fall Saturday. There is a lot of variety of food . I found it a little expensive but the atmosphere is really nice and it's near the East river park. There are benches to sit with family. I loved the Bolivian French fries and the Mexican corn.

We've been to NYC twice now, decided we would visit Smorgasburg on our first visit, absolutely loved it so added it to our must do list for our 2nd visit. Very well run, large variety of weird, interesting and tasty foods to try. It can turn into a very expensive outing but my husband and I bought 1 of everything we wanted to try and just split it! Brilliant location, the view of manhattan is spectacular. We'll be back for our 3rd Smorgasburg visit sept' 17.

If you’re a foodie, this is a great place to visit. We got some fantastic lobster, fantastic meat and oysters.

Great lil spot just off the ferry and going north up a couple of blocks. They have everything there from dominican smash mofongo to bbq sanwiches and at far end a full bar. Youll need id for that one and cant carry out beer. (Sorry lol).. still hreat stop along way to explore williamsburg

Was told about this place by a New Yorker during our stay & im so glad me made the effort to go.
There was everything from, lobster roll / pulled pork / up market fries & macaroons.
All with this Amazing view of New York. Opens in March & closes in October, but the food is out of this world.

if there's one way to sample to food culture of NYC, i guess its her. ok, so I'm a tourist, so i love this fast track system of trying to know the city. the food were good, the lines extremely long, and the ambiance was just great, especially since we were facing the river. nice picnic feel.
i love the ramen burger (freshly grilled beef patty sandwiched between compressed instant noodles--weird but love the crunch).
be prepared to queue for food (half an hour at least for the more popular ones) and bathroom (omg, there were only 5 portalets for this event).

When I went with friends on a Sunday in August it was way too hot to fully enjoy, but I recommend it all the same. You can try the famous ramen burger here! There was also a booth selling mangoes on a stick, dusted with paprika. Get that.

You will be dazzled by the array of foods available here, particularly in the summertime! Vegan pastrami? Check. Hibiscus doughnuts as big as your hand? Check. An artist selling intricate artwork of iconic architecture drawn on post-its? If you visit industry city in the winter, you can find all these wonders and more! A fabulous way to spend a day

There's no going wrong with the food. Everything you try will be delicious, even the stuff that's advertised as healthy (I would know, I had a vegetable pancake and it was so tasty). It's got so many different options from all around the world and I would highly recommend it -- if you're willing to spend no less than $8 per station. Drinks are expensive and so is the food, but for a one-time visit, I would definitely recommend going and sharing some plates with friends. Plus the view of Manhattan from the waterfront is GORGEOUS. You can literally gorge yourself on mozzerella sticks while sitting in the sand. Make a day of it.

Bring your appetite as there is so much to try at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg! These locally based food vendors are mixing up concoctions that you've never heard of but MUST try. From Ramen Burgers, to frittes, to gluten free treats, to donuts the size of your face.
ExploreBK.com for more info on Williamsburg and other fun Brooklyn neighborhoods.

visited on a weeks holiday from the uk. found out about this before we came. enjoyed the food & sitting outside admiring the view. would defiantly go back when in brooklyn. what else would you do on a Saturday afternoon.

Have been seen Smorgasburg Instagram pages for months until I finally was able to fly to NY and go... WOW that awesome! and it was a NY Times Food Festival as well. I tried so many things from ice cream, dumplings, beer; its an all sweet and salty experience for your taste buds. Just bring your camera some friends and/or family and eat all day long!!

I attended this event last year, and am going to go again later today on my yearly trip to New York.
There are many different vendors, all very good quality.
Most vendors accepted credit cards, but several were cash only.
Located in a very nice park, with a great view of Manhattan.

A very cool street food market with options for everybody.
Has small dishes so you can try a little bit of everything and very comfortable area to sit down.

Such a huge variety of foods in a casual atmosphere in a great location by the river! Yes it's pricey but oh so worth it! Scotch eggs were amazing, yummy dairy-free ice cream, grilled seafood all good. The grilled spaghetti sandwich was worse than it sounds though, but we wouldn't know if we hadn't tried it!

There is a wide variety of food to try at the Smorgasburg, and you can't possibly taste everything, so pick your favorites and pace yourself. Also bring a lot of cash. The food is not cheap. Arriving early also means that you might be able to stake out one of the few picnic tables in the concrete lot nextdoor. Note that there are no bathrooms.

Visited on a Saturday at the peak of summer.
The subway takes you pretty close, and it's a 10 mins walk through an interesting part of Williamsburg.
There was a very nice and interesting selection of booths. Some of it is a bit pricey, but I loved how great the variety was, there was definitely something for every palette. I can especially recommend Blue Marble Ice cream on a hot day. I also tried the Ramen burger, which was good if a bit funky.
The location is great, beautiful backdrop of the river and Manhattan on the other side. Perfect to sit at the river with an ice cream and just enjoy the view.

If you can think of a food item or type of cuisine, it's probably at Smorgasburg. As far as I know every vendor takes credit cards, there's plenty of space available (if not at the tables then on the grass) and the waterfront location / manhattan skyline views awesome. The only real downside is the crowds - depending on the time and weather it can get extremely crowded and lines for some of the more popular items like the Ramen Burger or Lobster Rolls can stretch to 15-20minutes or more. BTW, it's just this reviewer's opinion but the Ramen Burger is wildly overrated, there's a dozen or more better ways to spend your money.

Many options of food with good quality and you can also enjoy the view of Manhattan. The price is also not too expensive so totally recommend.

I loved the Williamsburg Smorgasburg.
A fantastic selection of food complemented by stunning views of Manhattan.
The price point varied amongst stalls, but nothing you wouldn't expect in an environment like this.
Well worth a visit. If I lived in NY I would be here frequently.

A good way of enjoying a Saturday afternoon. Call your friends and start your afternoon in Brooklyn at this market. You'll find something for everyone. And you'll want to come back.

All kind of food, great view to the city and open spaces to enjoy drinks and bites with friends .....we had a grilled cheese sandwich phenomenal!!!!!!
Free cold water and plenty of choices for sweets
It's a must when visiting Brooklyn

Make a day of it lots to do in the area grab a bite and move on there is more to do and the ferries are convenient.

OMG!!!!!! over 50 vendors, the best lobster rolls we have ever had! Amazing meals by top places on the water looking back at Manhattan, this is the bomb dot com! The spaghetti donuts makes a good picture but it had little flavor. You must try the Asian dumplings!!!!! What a fun time!

Most definitely worth going here! See awesome Williamsburg area, and enjoy a fun day at the food market. The ice cream sandwiches and Ube kitchen's Halo Halo are to die for!

The second visit in 2017 to Williamsburg to get some street food and roam the local markets.
It gets better ever time. So much to try and the best scenery you can wish for

This was so much fun. We got there after 1pm so it was really crowded, but we expected that and we had the time so it didn't bother us. There are plenty of places to sit outside of the food area, so best idea is to grab some food and go down by the water or they had a huge tent set up with picnic tables, enjoy, then get back in line again! There is such a variety, something for everyone. Our favorite was the Churro ice cream sandwich, the Quail eggs that was delicious and fun to watch! Some portions are very large, so we shared a lot so we could try more. Be careful because some stands looked like they did not have a long line but once we paid for our food we were told the line was behind the tent. Thanks a lot Big Mozz that was probably a 20min wait, that was not worth it. My daughter lives in Manhattan she said she is definitely going to bring some of her friends there. I will be home in Buffalo very jealous! LOL

Arrive at 11, there is almost every cuisine available that you can think of. Go hungry and sit down by the water! Highly recommend taking the ferry from N Williamsburg pier to Dumbo and then walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Perfect way to walk off the food!

Each tent had something different and delicious. Go hungry and patient! There is so much variety of food that we wanted to stay and eat all day! The view of the Manhattan skyline from the beach is a nice bonus.

The place, the food variety, the sight over Manhattan, everything conspires for one to enjoy the visit a lot. Will go back!

Had heard good things but was still impressed. The selection of food here is great and the ambience is fab too. We came on 4th of July - first day in the States and what a welcome. Whiskey honey cake is to die for. But then you get half a pig covered in Parmesan and broccoli and wish you could eat that forever. Reassuring about the state of American cuisine.

We wanted to taste everything but ended up tasting 3 different dishes. Everything was good. You should definitely visit if you are in the neighbourhood.

My husband and I went to Smorgasburg for the 1st time late Saturday afternoon. We loved it. Our downfall was that we arrived with only a couple hours to eat, closes at 6PM. Our bellies were full before we could sample all the foods we wanted. It was classic case of our eyes were bigger than our bellies. We saw so many things we wanted to eat but didn't get a chance to. Go early, eat & enjoy the scenery. We enjoyed eating and sitting by the water. It's a lovely way to spend the day.

Really essential on a Saturday- not only anything and everything you could ever think of eating, there is also a great vibe, picturesque, fabulous views of Manhattan from the beach where you can sit on the rocks and eat your food choice, or under the shade of the many trees. Easy to get to from Manhattan - walk the Williamsburg bridge to get there. Could not go past the Mighty Quinn brisket. Sublime.

Amazing! You have to go! An enormous selection of food stands and each one is different from the next. Easy to get to and very reasonably priced. It can get crowded but you'll never wait for more than a few minutes in line for food (except for a few different stands). If you're looking for a very unique Brooklyn experience this is the place to visit!

I live just down the block from this place and I go almost every weekend. It is only held on Sat 11am-6p but things get sold out by 4p and they start breaking down their stations around 5p. I would suggest getting there before 1p, otherwise it is super crowded and the lines can be extremely long. It's held outside from April until Nov, not sure where they go in the winter, they change locations for the indoor venue every year.
We usually grab a mix of food and drinks and sit by the water. It's the best way to spend a Saturday. I think for tourists, this is a better way to spend time in Brooklyn and NYC then in Times Square, although we call this particular block, "Times Square" during Smorgasburg Saturdays cause it's incredible how many people descend on this little neighborhood.
My favorite stalls is Pomme Frite for truffle oil french fries, Donut, and Nachos. I've eaten at almost every stall, but the french fries and donuts are AMAZING!

This is a great place in the best section of Brooklyn. You can eat from many vendors and if you go with friends, you can try each others food.

Great to find bargains and ultra cool stuff. Handmade, recycled vintage, nice food, u name it, its there! Have fun and enjoy

This is the highest level of organized chaos I've ever seen. New Yorkers don't know how lucky they have it with all the food options made so easily accessible to them. At the food market I was able to try Dutch stroopwafel, Colombian arepas, Argentinian sandwiches- and all kinds of other cuisines I've never had access to coming from my town. All of this madness is happening to the stunningly photogenic backdrop of Manhattan across the pond. I'd highly recommend stopping by here if good food is a big part of your traveling experience.

We visited here Saturday past and really enjoyed the experience. Loads of food trucks to choose from, with lots of options for different dietary requirements (gluten free, vegetarian, vegan etc.). Personal favourites were Destination Dumplings and the mozzarella stick stand. Was great to sit and watch the sunset over the river after finishing our food too. All in all, a great day out!

This was a real nightmare to reach, coupled with the fact that no one, not even the most hardened brooklynites even knew of it's existence. So, off we went with the slow slog to the park that housed the weekly culinary event. In the blazing hot sun.
Fortunately it's quite a scenic journey, otherwise we'd have threw the towel in a long time before. It took well over an hour to get there from high Street station. No doubt some wise guy (or girl) will point out some nearby obscure station that would have made it quicker to reach incorporating plus 8 station changes but there is something to be said for trecking the way there yourself.
Anyway, the first thing that hit us was the glorious smells that hung heavy in the air, stimulating our hunger. This was closely followed by the intense heat from the number of on site gas stoves in action. Highlights for us were the world famous Ramen burger, the lobster roll and given the intense heat the pink lemonade which really pulled us out of a hole that day. No kidding. Even 2 girls from Texas said the heat was too intense for them, so you can only imagine the level of exhaustion and dehydration met with us 2 Brits, which is famed for its appalling weather. There were chemical toilet facilities which didn't look up to much but in that heat, I suspect the smells would have undone the glorious stench wafting in from the kitchens.
I'd say you have to give this a try but leave it for a cooler day

Every weekend you could find me here when I was staying in Williamsburg. Great selection of food with tons of variety if you don't mind standing in line.

Smorgasburg sounds like a TV program. You are the actor, you choose the scene. There is a lot of options to make your stomach satisfied. Try a walk to Bedford St and a coffee at the Flea Market close to Smorgasburg. Oh... There is a nice view of Manhattan. Enjoy your day.

Some good finds (think vintage designer clothes) if one is willing to go on a treasure hunt.
The food court is fantastic. Mostly nutritious, organic and home made. (I had a lovely lentil stew) with a few options to satisfy the sweet tooth as well.

Had a chance to visit this place on Saturday June 4, 2016. We arrived just as it was opening (11-6pm) and man what a selection. There must have been over 50 options to choose from. Both me and my friend ended trying about 4-5 different vendors. The selections were incredible, from dinner fare, to snacks, to ice cream, to numerous drink options (both alcohol and non) and other desert items. The view from the park back across to the city was great also. It's not a far walk down from the subway drop off of the L line at Bedford. It's wise to get there early as the place filled up quick and some of the lines got to be real long. If you are a foodie, then this is a must see/eat place to check out on a Saturday.

a must do for all foodies - nearly every type of ethnic street food is represented here and it is done right. totally exceeded my expectations .
come hungry, go early as it gets very crowded after 12:30

As a cultural experience this is pretty awesome. The highest quality ingredients in a mashup of ethnic and creative dishes. It's a no brainer for when you don't crave on specific thing. The vendors have to apply and be approved, so the culinary level is high - not like Michelin star snooty, just good yummy food, some of it quite inventive. Make sure you bring lots of cash; it's not that kind of food truck cheap street near experience. We spent a good $40 per person when we went (the lobster rolls might've tipped the balance...)

A wide range of foods, very yummy! Portions aren't usually big so you will need to go to several stands, so it ends up quite expensive, but a great experience nonetheless.
Would recommend for NYC visitors who don't enjoy masses of tourists as it didn't feel touristy, felt more like a local here. Great view of the skyline too!

If you like food, then this is the place to go! Overall fun experience....go hungry.....lots of foods to choose from! Definitely try the Ramon and the Pernil. Next time I might carry an umbrella, it gets hot out there.

This was heaven for foodies. Every place we tried was delicious and totally authentic to the country. Every type of food you could imagine. And the location was in a nice area with plenty of seating. Must see for Brooklyn.

Excellent collection of food trucks that gather in the park every Saturday. What a great idea! There were so many options that I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to try. I split a lobster roll with a friend (delicious). My other favorite was banana pudding! Wow!
There are picnic tables available if you get there early and can grab one. There is also a great view of Manhattan. Everyone should try this at least once.

Literally any nationality of food, any craving you could have, you could get your fix here! From BBQ to ramen burgers to lobster rolls, it's all available here! What a terrific way to eat!

I couldn't come to NY without a visit to smorgasburg, and I wasn't disappointed. The only downside was that they closed a little early but this was due to it being the 4th of July and they had to set up for the fireworks but apart from that we had so much fun, I wanted to try everything and I can't wait to visit again.

After a cheap ferry trip via Brooklyn Bridge on the East River Ferry stopped of to cruise the many food stalls , to much choice !! . Great food at reasonable prices and the cheap ferry trip and lovely sunshine made for a memorable day . Little tip , if you leave the ferry at 34th street there are few onward transport options other than a long walk . Ok unless like me you had a broken toe !!

Smorgasburg is an extremely popular way to spend an afternoon with a vast collection of food and drink vendors. Get there early if you want to avoid the crowds, or come later if you're more interested in people watching. It's a great place to sample almost any kind of food. While you're in the area, take some time to explore Brooklyn's other shops and restaurants.

I have been dreaming forever to visit Smorgasburg and I'm still ecstatic that I got to go. My friend and I have been eyeing all the vendors online for months and when we finally got there we were not disappointed at all by the diversity and authenticity of all the delicious foods we got to eat, smell, and watch as vendors were making them.
This is like the Mecca of food trucks and the like. EVERYTHING you can imagine is here. Anywhere from Japanese takoyaki balls to fresh poke bowls, Mexican cemitas to Texas-style bbq, Brooklyn's own local oysters and MORE are all here for you to sample in one hot spot. Smorgasburg is the definition of a boiling pot of international good eats. Nothing is disappointing too! Mmm!!
I never wanted to leave before trying a little of every vendor! And of course bring all your friends! If each friend gets a different item, you can all share a sample and the costs wouldn't be so bad either. Roughly each vendor of food costs anywhere from 5 to 8 bucks. And visit often! There's too many to try in one visit.
Location is very spacious (it's a park after all) and the view is very nice (you can see the city-scapes) even with the mobs of people. And service was on the very fast paced side so you'll barely even have to wait 5 minutes for anything you order. And I went during the lunch rush and I still got all my foods really fast. But since you do tend to stay around for a while, just make sure to bring sunblock or else you'll get baked! Enjoy!!

Amazing choice of cuisines available at this food truck park - so there;s food for everyone's palates. There's also place to sit on the grass and enjoy your meal

We headed over on the ferry from East 34th. Takes about 20 minutes after a couple of stops. Lots of food tents. We tried corn in a cup with chili and mayo, then went to a bbq tent and finally tried frozen cheesecake ice cream. When the suns out it's nice to buy your food then head down and sit on the waterfront. ferry runs about every 40 mins

Smorgasburg has done a great job encapsulating the current feel of New York City. It's overcrowded, overpriced, and people are convinced it's trendy to be there without really knowing why.
On the busy days (which is most days) , it's not even worth the effort and if you do come, show up in the first 2 hours. Vendors do run out , and the place starts to look like the ruins of a music festival at closing time. The amount of food options is staggering (70+), and the lines depend on how "in" at the moment a particular gimmick is; the lines don't dictate quality, I've found. The lines typically just indicate where the moths see light (or in this case, other moths waiting).
Bring cash. That's another negative, but I can't hate on them for this. With what these vendors are paying to be a part of the circus, the least they can save on is paying taxes.
Overall, good way to sample some cool food choices around the city in one spot but overly hyped for what the experience actually is. Would recommend showing up early (very, very early) or going on a day where the weather is questionable, especially if you have a bigger group.
Looking forward to the Prospect Park location; truly optimistic that it will logistically be a lot smoother than this and the now defunct Brooklyn Bridge spot.

Got the east river ferry over to the east river state park in Williamsburg for this small food festival. It'll put in a couple of hours for you if you want to step away from the usual sightseeing.
We had been to nyc before so this was good for a change
Good variety of foods amd drinks on offer, some with large Q's though.

No dogs allowed. Had to sneak my pup in and be fast. Kinda annoying. Cash only at some places. Ate a double burger with bacon at Duck Season. 1/2 pound brisket at Barks BBQ.

I'm pleasantly surprised about the quality of the food vendors here at Smorgasburg. Most food festivals aren't up to par, not worth the prices, or only have one or two worthwhile vendors. However, at Smorgasburg, it's as if most places are legit. Carnal, Mofon-go, and Wowful are some vendors to definitely check out. Skip the Raindrop Cake.

We visited the street food festival Smorgasburg as part of our NYC vacation. The location with a view of the Manhattan skyline was very nice. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food on offer was very varied. The visit was worth it!

This is a must if you love food. So many different and interesting unique food stalls. Go hungry and get there at 11am when it opens. It gets so busy after 1pm you'll be waiting in lines to get food. We got there right at 11am, spend an hour or two there without lineups.

This was an awesome open food market with tons of vendors specializing in all kinds of random and delicious foods. It was a great place to stop for lunch and sample some of the many offerings. The views from the park are also fabulous.

Metro to Williamsburg - seasonal, only on weekends - TRY THE CREME BROULEE! Fantastic view of the Manhattan skyline.
Plethora of foods to try - approx $5-8 per portion, selection includes BBQ steaks/chicken, kebabs, donuts, rolled ice cream, sushi, chinese dumplings, seafood and lots more.. buy your food and hunt down a picnic table or sit on the grass.

Over the summer, my friend and I were wanting to visit Smorgasburg as part of a day trip over to Brooklyn. We travelled from the city by subway to the Brooklyn bridge and then took a ferry over to Williamsburg. This took us a total of 3 hours (which was quite a long time on foot). However as we approached Smorgasburg (where there were little signs pointing us in the right direction), we realised that it was CLOSED. After checking on the website multiple times the night before, no where did it say that it would be closed the next day. After travelling a great distance and arriving to the market being shut, I was very disappointed.
I would recommend making it CLEARER on the website the dates and times the market is open.

This place is a fun experience. You have to be prepared to wait, wait and wait. We did not find options to eat that did not have a line that would be more than one hour wait..so we did not eat there.
The prices are also high compared to what they offer. I would recommend a trip there just for the fun of going... But wouldn't go again.

The smorgasburg is great food and a good place to go with friends. When we went it was boiling hot to a point of unbearable. The selection of foods is amazing and well worth the visit. Check it out!

It was a fun way to spend a day in Brooklyn NY. Good Food and the shopping in the area is very good as well. Got a little crowded about 1pm . So it opens at 11am so early is better. FUN FUN!!! Most expensive food was the Lobster Roll $18 . Enjoy the FOOD!

I have been to Smorgasburg on Pier nr 5 and I have really liked it! Unfortunately it was a very hot day and there were a lot of peole so I could not try more than 3-4 meals, but the ones I have eaten have been really good! Location is amazing, with lower manhattan in front of you. also the big playing area is confortable and is a great place for a rest. If you are in NYC in the weekend, dont' miss Smorgasburg!

The food is so good you want to try everything. But I recommend Home Frite and the best is the ones fried in truffle oil. And try Ramen Burguer, too. There are long lines for both but it worth every minute you wait.
Enjoy the view from Manhattan.

Yes there are lot's of great food stalls here and for the most part it's good quality along with a great backdrop of the Manhatten sky line. However it's very crowded and you have to work to find a decent place to sit to actually savour what your eating. This is more about saying you where here vrs tasting the best chicken wing you've ever had. You can easily drop $50 and still be hungry. I suggest you take a $50 food / 2.5 hr tour of Williamsburg and enjoy the park when it's empty and it's just kids playing in the park. Plus you'll be full.

If you hate crowds then you're gonna hate this. Long queues for some of the really awesome food. We had chicken kebabs, beef short ribs, Maine Lobster and cranberry limeade to wash it down. Expect to pay between $10 (chicken kebab) to $18 (lobster) for food. Everything we had was beautiful. But it was really hot out and without shade we withered pretty quickly. There were benches to sit on but those to were not shaded. It's nice to sit by the water with your meal. Would have liked to stay and sample more of the food but the crowds and heat overwhelmed us.

So many food offerings! Whether you crave Asian-inspired, American classics, innovative recipes, Mexican or Jamaican classics or desserts, I think you can find t there. Came in before the opening at 11. Definitely come early if you don't like crowds because it gets really packed around noon - including kids in strollers and dogs. I easily spent $50 total before my tummy got full. In my case, my tummy was nearly empty before I went because I had just arrived from a long haul flight the previous day and slept upon arriving. The last full meal I ate was on the plane. Ate Jerk chicken, Taco carnita from Oaxaca Taqueria, Maine style lobster roll from Red Hook Lobster Pound and Hibiscua and Passionfruit doughnuts from Dough. tlThe view from the East River Park was also a nice background while eating. If you're in New York City, don't think about it and just go! The neighboorhood also has so many shops and restaurants if you're still hungry. It is easy to get to from the L line subway.

This attraction in Brooklyn, NYC occurs over the late Spring and Summer months. It is a large venue with numerous kiosks of food & drink from mostly casual restaurants found over town. The variety of things to taste is enormous. My group of friends enjoyed ourselves with the exception of a few things missing. It was hot and sunny and there are no places to really sit down and enjoy one's food except in the grass. That wouldn't be so bad except there are absolutely no shady places to sit. Additionally, there were scant places to throw one's trash. With a few improvements, Smorgasburg could be even better than it already is given it's wonderful food and drink selections.

Great stalls with good variety, i eat halal so was limited mostly to veg options but it was still good, nice scenic views aswel.

I love this kind of market and smorgasburg has the brooklyn spirit. Greate food, I lot of (nice) people, beatiful view of Manhathan... You should go!

This is the best. The variety of food available is fantastic. I ordered small amounts from like 5 different places to check out as much as possible. It's crowded, like really crowded at times, but it was worth it. It is almost all food, so if you're looking for crafts, etc. then likely should head to the Brooklyn Flea market under the Manhattan bridge on Sunday morning.

Started at the Homemade Fries this Food Festival is a very nice place to visit during your stay in NYC or Manhattan. We accidentally found this place. There are many Options to sit and you have a nice view of the NYC Skyline!

Would have enjoyed this much more in my younger days or on a cooler afternoon. The food vendors are diverse and authentic (most of them). However, the crowd is just overwhelming, parking is impossible and the day was too hot. Also the park beach is not that clean and the view is certainly not the best. We toured the smorgasburg and went out of the park where we ate in a nice clean and air conditioned restaurant a few blocks away.

Good location and easy to come by with a Brooklyn bus. From manhattan take a subway to Marcy Avenue station. East river ferry also takes you close with the North Williamsburg stop.
Google Brooklyn flea. It's right next to this.
Free restrooms but long lines. Few coffee places (with restrooms) near by but when going deeper to Williamsburg you find a place to take a brake.
Nice place to try some great food, and some less good food. Bring the bigger wallet filled with cash.
I would have like smaller but cheaper portions so I could have tried more. You get filled up quite fast.
All in all a really nice place to be!
