Jiuhua Mountain Guide Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area Distribution

Mount Jiuhua is located in Qingyang County, Chizhou City, southern Anhui Province. It is one of the four famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism and the dojo of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

The Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area Management Committee administers two scenic areas, namely the 5A-level Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area and the 4A-level Dayuan Cultural Park Scenic Area.

Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area has a one-ticket system, and the peak season ticket price is 160 yuan/person. From November 16th to January 15th of the following year, the off-season ticket price is 140 yuan/person. There are no small entrance fees for each scenic spot or temple. Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area is divided into three major areas: Jiuhua Street Scenic Area, Minyuan Tiantai Scenic Area, and Huatai Scenic Area. Only Huatai Scenic Area is free of admission.

The Dayuan Cultural Park is free of charge, and the ticket price for the Hongyuan Hall in the park is 99 yuan. The Dayuan Cultural Park is located at the foot of the mountain, also known as the 99-meter Ksitigarbha Statue Scenic Area or the Jiuhua Giant Buddha Scenic Area.

Among the three major scenic areas of Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area, Huatai Scenic Area is at the foot of the mountain, Jiuhua Street Scenic Area and Minyuan Tiantai Scenic Area are on the mountain.

1. Jiuhua Street Scenic Area is located halfway up the mountain, generally referred to as the mountain. It is the core scenic area that must be visited on a trip to Jiuhua Mountain. Thousand-year-old Buddhism, key temples, hotels, and old street shops are all in the Jiuhua Street Scenic Area. Ruijing Shanju Inn is located in the center of Jiuhua Street, opposite the Dabei Building. It takes five or six hours to visit the Jiuhua Street Scenic Area. It is most convenient to arrange food and accommodation in Jiuhua Street.

Friends who take a one-day or two-day tour usually only visit this scenic spot or add the Minyuan Tiantai scenic spot.

2. Minyuan Tiantai Scenic Area, starting from Jiuhua Street, has famous temples such as Tiantai Temple and Baijingtai (reachable by cableway), as well as some natural scenery. There are nunneries and ancient Phoenix pines at the foot of the mountain. It takes two to three hours to reach the top of the mountain and two hours at the foot of the mountain. The process of going up and down only takes more than ten minutes by cableway, and it takes three to four hours to walk up the mountain.

There are the Huatai Scenic Area and the Holy Statue Scenic Area at the foot of Mount Jiuhua.

3. Huatai Scenic Area is a typical granite mountain scenic area with magnificent natural landscape. It is mainly for admiring strange peaks and rocks. There are high-altitude plank roads in the scenic area, but no temples. There is no mountain trail to reach Huatai Scenic Area from Huatai Cableway Station. To walk to Huatai Scenic Area, you can only walk from Tiantai Scenic Area for four or five hours. It is generally recommended to take the cableway to and from Huatai Scenic Area at the foot of the mountain. It takes about three hours to go back and forth by cableway plus sightseeing.

4. The Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Statue Scenic Area, also known as the Great Wish Cultural Park or Jiuhua Buddha, is located next to the tourist service center at the foot of the mountain. It is a 4A-level scenic area built in 2012 and is free to enter. The park has a tour route of about 2 kilometers along the central axis, including Wutong Bridge, the memorial archway, the Hongyuan Hall Ksitigarbha Cultural Exhibition Center (Hongyuan Hall tickets are sold separately for 99 yuan, and discounted tickets are 49 yuan), the Buddha Light Pond, the Lotus Pure Land, the Great Wish Square, the Jiuhua Feitian Music Fountain Performance of Eight Meritorious Waters, and finally reaches the 99-meter-high Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva bronze statue. This scenic area takes three or four hours.

The ticket system for Jiuhua Mountain is very complicated. Different cable cars, cars and tickets need to be purchased separately.

Jiuhua Mountain is really not easy to climb!!

The most interesting thing to see in Jiuhua Mountain is "looking for the flesh-and-blood Bodhisattvas hidden everywhere". Yuanjue Monastery is one of them. To find the flesh-and-blood bodies, you need a certain amount of intelligence and physical strength. The flesh-and-blood bodies are not in places that everyone can see and are usually well hidden. The process of looking for the flesh-and-blood bodies is like finding treasures in a game, which is full of fun.

The section down the mountain is full of "routines". The shoulder poles standing by the wall are "props". As long as the scammers see tourists coming down the mountain in the distance, they will pretend to be pitiful and say "please ask for some money for steamed buns". Don't be sympathetic, their "acting skills" are too poor and you can see through them at a glance. There are such scammers all the way down the mountain. Don't the scenic area come to manage them?

Beautiful Jiuhua Mountain! It took 2 days. On the first day, there was fog and I couldn't see the beautiful scenery. I thought it was a bit disappointing, but it was a different world. The feeling of deep mountains and old forests was very different. The floating mist in front of me, the golden sea of clouds under the setting sun, the feeling of being exhausted, and the refreshing feeling under the effect of natural oxygen bar are all unforgettable! There are many temples and many monks and nuns. The feeling of being stared at in front of the Buddha statue is very shocking. At that moment, you have your own judgment on good and evil. It is a trip that touches the soul. The prices of food, accommodation and transportation in the scenic area are very reasonable. Most of them are run by local residents and are very simple. Reference for hiking time: It takes 2.5 hours to climb from Phoenix Pine to Tiantai, and 3 hours to go back and forth from Tiantai Flower Terrace.

There are many temples in Jiuhua Mountain. During holidays, many tourists wait for the cable car, which will waste a lot of time. It is recommended to just visit the temples on Jiuhua Street.

2024.9.3-9.5 My wife and I made an appointment to visit Jiuhua Mountain. Although it was hard, I felt very enlightened and deeply felt the charm of the Buddhist holy land.

The believers followed the monks and circled the flesh-body palace, bowing and kowtowing several times and chanting "Namo Great Vow Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva".

I used to think that bowing and worshipping belonged to Tibetan Buddhism. I wonder why the believers in Jiuhua Mountain also have such piety?

It was called Lingyang Mountain and Jiuzi Mountain in ancient times. It is one of the "Four Famous Mountains of Chinese Buddhism" and is located in Qingyang County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. It is known as the "No. 1 Mountain in the Southeast". Legend has it that it was renamed "Jiuhua Mountain" because of the poem "Looking at Jiuhua and Presenting to Qingyang Wei Zhongkan" by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty: "Once I was on Jiujiang, gazing at Jiuhua Peak from afar. The Milky Way hangs green water, and nine lotus flowers show off."

The scenery is very beautiful and unique. We went there in the morning. It was raining heavily. There was a sightseeing bus and the broadcast said it would take 2 hours. I thought it was far away, but it was actually only a few minutes' drive away. There was no need to spend 30 yuan on a sightseeing bus.

Jiuhua Mountain is best known as one of the four famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism and the place of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. There are many famous temples and ancient monasteries, many cultural relics and historical sites, and a strong Buddhist atmosphere. It is known as the "Lotus Buddha Kingdom". In addition, there are many famous Bodhisattvas who were incarnated after the death of many enlightened monks.

I went to the Huatai Scenic Area first, walked along the wooden plank road hanging on the cliff, and then started to climb to the top of Huatai. Although fitness can't make me thin, it makes me a healthy and flexible fat man. There is no pressure to climb up. The moment I reached the top is still a sense of accomplishment. The most beautiful scenery is really at the top of the mountain~

By Rest, little thief |

As one of the four famous Buddhist mountains, the mountain is not too high, but it is more than 1,000 meters high. It has excellent natural and cultural heritage. You can stay for a few days to have a good time. Jiuhua Street on the mountainside also has complete service facilities.

By China-TravelNote users |

After exiting Chizhou Railway Station, there is a scenic spot transportation shuttle bus on the right that can take you to Jiuhua Mountain and the railway station. Remember to buy it at the exit of the railway station. The scenic spot transportation tickets bought in other places do not include the pick-up and drop-off at Jiuhua and the railway station. The hiking trail to Baisui Palace is next to Diyuan Temple, and the hiking trail to Tiantai should be near Fenghuangsong. In general, I hope that the Buddhist Pure Land will be less utilitarian! Farmers basically buy 3 yuan, and Coke buys 5 yuan. The scenic spot only knows how to make money. It is too commercial. There is basically no public service. The 190 ticket and the 50 scenic spot transportation are required, which means that the ticket is equal to 240. The local government has to provide some public services when enclosing the land and charging tickets.

By The fat kid who can't lose weight |

The 99-meter-high bronze statue is still very spectacular, but I personally think the ticket price is a bit expensive.

While eating breakfast, I looked out the window and saw the rain. It was a good choice to go to the Buddhist holy land of Jiuhua Mountain for a leisurely walk and quiet heart. There were still many pilgrims and tourists in the rain. After taking two photos at the entrance to check in, I put away my phone, walked quietly between the temples with a pious heart, and prayed for health and peace for my family.

One of the Buddhist resorts, those who believe in Buddhism can go there. I personally feel that the management is still in a state of chaos, but the incense is still very strong. I heard that it is very effective. For me, because I have no desire, I may not feel that much. The Hui-style architecture is beautiful, and the mountains are also beautiful.

It is one of the three famous mountains in Anhui Province (Huangshan, Jiuhua Mountain, and Tianzhu Mountain). It is now a national 5A-level tourist area, and is known as one of the four famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism along with Wutai Mountain in Shanxi, Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang, and Emei Mountain in Sichuan. It is the place of practice for Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, who vowed not to attain Buddhahood until hell is empty and to attain Bodhi only after all sentient beings are saved, and is known as an international Buddhist place of practice.

A place I must visit every year, just to find spiritual sustenance and comfort. Pray for the health of my family and friends.

It is a famous Buddhist mountain. I went there with my wife and two good friends.

We hiked up and then took the Tiantai cableway down. At first, we wondered if we had made the wrong choice: hiking up the mountain. But as the altitude continued to rise, the view became better and better, and the scenery became more and more beautiful! I suggest that you take the scenic area bus to Fenghuangsong Station and then hike.

Jiuhua Mountain has not been fully developed, and there are still many areas worth discovering by hikers. Of course, hikers have also come up with very comprehensive travel guides.

The scenery is amazing. Although Buddhist culture and natural scenery are not completely integrated, they are equally important. There are three cable cars, one in the front mountain, and one in each direction of the rooftop and flower terrace in the back mountain. The prices in the scenic area are generally expensive, which may be caused by the large number of Buddhists who are not willing to bargain.

By Reminiscence of the Past |

It is worthy of being called a Buddhist holy place, with many temples, sincerity and good luck, steep mountains and beautiful scenery. It is a perfect trip to worship Buddha.

By Wendy hates pigs |

I've been there a few times. It's a Buddhist holy place. The scenery is great. You can climb mountains, burn incense, worship Buddha, and exercise.

By wA-TT Rainbow |

The tour guide worked very hard, following us up and down the mountain. We also saw the sea of clouds.

The cable car has 6 people in one car. It is not mandatory when there are not many people. Most of the time, people know each other in one car, so we went up and down together as a group of four. The cable car was very shaky, but the scenery was great.

There are so many temples in Jiuhua Mountain. We walked all the way up, stopped and prayed, made wishes, and watched people coming and going.

The Buddhist culture here is strong, and there are also many devout and sincere tourists, as well as special Buddhist cultural exchanges. You can get three incense sticks for free at each temple, or you can buy them yourself, it all depends on your personal wishes. Being in it, even if we are atheists, we can't help but be infected~

Generally speaking, when you go to Mount Jiuhua, you must worship Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

If you go to Mount Jiuhua to burn incense and worship Buddha, the "Huacheng Temple" is the founding temple built by Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva himself, and it is the first place you must visit; the "Flesh Hall" is the place where the flesh body of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is located, and it is the second place you must visit; the "Bai Sui Palace" is the second flesh-and-blood Bodhisattva in Mount Jiuhua, and it is also the earliest flesh-and-blood Bodhisattva we can see, and it is also the response body Bodhisattva conferred by Emperor Chongzhen, and it is the third place you must visit.

Jiuhua Mountain is one of the four major Buddhist mountains in China. It is as famous as Wutai Mountain, Putuo Mountain and Emei Mountain. It is the dojo of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. At the beginning, my itinerary did not include this place, but because the guy with me wanted to go and have a look, I added this place temporarily. After we visited the ancient Huizhou cultural area that day, we returned to Tunxi and took a bus to Jiuhua Mountain. Tunxi has a direct bus to Jiuhua Mountain at 1:30 pm every day, and the price should be more than 70. This is called direct, but it is actually placed at the bus station in Qingyang County. Then the driver knows the locals and takes a free bus to the foot of Jiuhua Mountain. At that time, I listened to a local girl who said that you can take this master's car to Jiuhua Street and go up the mountain. It costs 20 yuan per person and live in Jiuhua Street. Most people who visit Tiantai will choose to live here. To be honest, if you just want to see Tiantai and burn incense, choose to live in Jiuhua Street. If you want to visit, you should go to Huatai. Although it is equivalent to not coming if you don't go to Tiantai, there is really nothing to see except burning incense and worshiping Buddha. The locals also recommended the flower terrace, so we didn't even see the statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, which was the biggest regret of coming to Jiuhua Mountain. After visiting the terrace, we were anxious to return to Hefei, and it was raining heavily. We were traveling in the heavy rain and fog. Although it was more beautiful to be surrounded by clouds and mist, it was miserable to be soaked like a drowned chicken, and most of the photos were not very clear. You must be mentally prepared to go out to play during the rainy season. It takes about 4-5 hours to go back and forth from Jiuhua Street to the terrace, which is suitable for one-day friends. It is quite shocking to see the devout believers kneeling every three steps here. It is really not easy to brave the heavy rain. It is recommended that friends go up the mountain little by little from the bottom of the mountain, take the regular bus of the scenic area for a tour, and then stay in Jiuhua Street. It is suitable for a 2-day tour. A one-day tour is really too rushed.

A Buddhist holy place. Comrades, be careful when you go there, there are scammers all along the way, and you can lose thousands to tens of thousands of yuan if you are not careful. Burning a set of incense costs from 1888 yuan to 19888 yuan, and you have to ask for permission before you can burn it. It's a pity that the Buddha's treasured land has become a place for buying and selling!

One of the four major Buddhist mountains, 190 tickets and 50 yuan scenic bus tickets, the front mountain is mainly for burning incense, the back mountain Tiantai flower terrace has better scenery, the front and back mountains cannot be walked in one line, after visiting the front mountain, take a bus to the foot of the mountain to the back mountain and climb, it is recommended to have a 2-day trip, stay one night on the mountain, and watch the sunrise is absolutely great. If you only have one day, you can only pick a few attractions to visit, and it is definitely too late to climb the front and back mountains. The round trip cable car to Tiantai costs 160, but you still have to climb a distance by yourself. The steps are quite steep. If you climb fast, it takes 1.5 hours to go back and forth from the cable car to Tiantai. The scenery is beautiful, it is advisable to enjoy it slowly!

A must-visit place in Chizhou, the temple of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, the scenery is very beautiful, and there are many azaleas in spring

One of the four famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism, it is located in Qingyang County, Chizhou, Anhui Province. It is the dojo of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. It is said to be the incarnation of Jin Qiaojue, a prince of Silla, and a great bodhisattva who made a great aspiration: "I will not attain Bodhi until all sentient beings are saved, and I will not become a Buddha until the earth is empty." The highest peak is Shiwang Peak, but Tiantai, a holy place for worship, is generally regarded as the highest peak and is called non-human. I went to Tiantai before, which is very high and steep. In addition, I heard that Huatai has good scenery. If you have time, you can go to Jiuhua Street to have a look, but there are no special specialties, they are all similar.

The rooftop is very high and difficult to climb. The tickets are very expensive, but the gods are very spiritual~~ (Attached are a few photos of Chizhou College, absolutely not photoshopped, taken with a claw camera with broken pixels, it feels very beautiful~~)

The incense is very popular. When we went there, there were fewer people, so we could drive up the mountain. It felt a bit like going up Nankun Mountain. Xingxing kept asking me if I was scared. Haha, I can still accept this level. There is also a Buddhist college in Jiuhua Mountain.

A very quiet place with strong scenery and religious atmosphere

There is a Jiuhua Mountain Town on the mountainside of Jiuhua Mountain. Because it is already inside the scenic area, you must buy a ticket to reach Jiuhua Mountain Town. Although Jiuhua Mountain Town is located on the mountainside, it has accommodation, restaurants, supermarkets, specialty stores, etc., so you don’t have to worry about the shortage of supplies.

What makes Jiuhua Mountain unique is that you also need to buy tickets with relevant documents, the full price is 190 and the half price is 95.

A reminder is that when visiting Jiuhua Mountain, you should visit the front mountain first, and then visit the route from the rooftop to the flower terrace on the back mountain. Because the flower terrace is out of the scenic area, you can go directly to the Kecun Service Center after visiting. Otherwise, you can either get a second entry certificate at Gion Temple before going to the flower terrace, otherwise if you live in Jiuhua Street and are really not allowed to enter, you will have to buy another ticket!

Because it is the peak season, private cars are not allowed to go up the mountain on Saturdays and Sundays. You have to take a bus, and the ticket is 50 yuan per person. The ticket to Jiuhua Mountain is 190 yuan per person.

I bought a student ticket at Jiuhua Mountain Tourist Service Center for 95 (original price 180). The student ID is really great! Since the station is still a distance from the scenic area, the bus is 25 per person. In order to save money, I finally found someone to share a private car for 15 yuan. It took half an hour to get up the mountain. The winding mountain road has a big slope and sharp bends, but the scenery is 100% great~

The morning mist was lingering along the way, the air was fresh, the magnolias were in full bloom, the peach blossoms were still there, the bamboo forests and pine trees were rustling, and the gurgling streams were accompanying us! Haha, I can't think of any beautiful words to describe it!

If you want to visit Jiuhua Mountain to visit ancient temples and experience the profound Buddhist culture, you can do so all year round, especially during the major Buddhist festivals and events in Jiuhua, when there are many Buddhist events. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to enjoy the beautiful scenery and classic wonders of Jiuhua.

In the Jiuhua district, temples, hotels and shopping malls are interspersed, with flying eaves and high-rise buildings standing side by side with horse-head walls. The yellow ones are Buddhist temples, and the white ones are hotels, forming a unique landscape.

Jiuhua Mountain is located in Qingyang County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. It takes 3 hours to drive from Hefei by highway. If you want to have a good time, you need 2-3 days, but if you just want to burn incense and pray, one day is enough. Many people in Hefei go back and forth on the same day. Take the highway, then turn to National Highway 318 (I was shocked when I saw it was National Highway 318), and then turn to Provincial Highway 219. You can light some incense in Wuxi Town, because it is expensive on the mountain.

During this trip to Jiuhua Mountain, we visited the Flesh Pagoda, Huacheng Temple and Baisui Palace, which are also the most representative places. The rule for burning incense here is to light two candles first, and not put them on the highest platform, but on the second highest platform. Candles can be used for lighting, but one's own incense must be lit with one's own candles in the left hand. After lighting the incense, make a wish (pray) and then worship the four directions. The release pond in front of Huacheng Temple is a crescent-shaped lotus pond, named Crescent Pond. Legend has it that it was the release pond of Ksitigarbha in the past.
