The Badaling Ancient Great Wall, commonly known as the Remaining Great Wall, is located 5 kilometers southwest of the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area. It is the western gate of the Badaling Great Wall defense. There are high mountains, deep ravines, and dangerous gullies. The Great Wall is connected to the city gates, and the forts are facing each other. Because it is preserved in its original state, although it is incomplete, its majesty is still there. It not only has the beauty of the incomplete ancient culture, but also its natural landscape and environment are more beautiful! The Badaling Remaining Great Wall is a witness to history. According to experts, two sites of archaeological value have been found in the Badaling Remaining Great Wall. One is the stone quarry where the Great Wall was built. The split huge rocks are clearly visible, and the chisel marks of the unprocessed stones are clear. The other is the brick kiln group where bricks were fired in the past, so that you can understand the source of some of the raw materials when the Great Wall was built. Walking a step on the Badaling Remaining Great Wall is a historical legend, and stepping on a foot is a historical relic. Here you are walking in yesterday, not today. Every spring, many photography experts come here to capture the beautiful scenery of apricot blossoms all over the mountains, and at the same time appreciate the unique vicissitudes of life brought by the Badaling Ancient Great Wall.

Even during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, there are not many people. There is also a stone tablet at Haohanpo, and it is relatively easy to reach.
The Great Wall is highly recommended. There are few people and no commercial activities. It is more beautiful in spring when the apricot blossoms bloom. It has a rich history and is not difficult to climb. It is more beautiful in ruins. It is worth going, worth going, worth going. I say it three times because it is important.
I took the subway and then the train and it took a long time to reach the Badaling Great Wall.
Now it is the Ancient Great Wall, and the Remaining Great Wall was the name 5 years ago. This Great Wall is relatively remote, but very large. The staff of the scenic spot said that this Great Wall is not very famous, so there are relatively few people who come to play. Generally, there are more foreigners who come here. The parking lot is very large and the environment is very good. It is a good place to play and exercise.
About Badaling Tickets:
1. If you don't go during the peak season, the line to buy tickets on site is not as long as you might think. And even if you buy tickets online, you still have to go to the site to exchange for paper tickets in the end.
2. The train attendant will recommend you to buy tickets, but I don't recommend buying hers. Why? Because her tickets are bundled with tickets for the 3D Great Wall movie, so they are not just selling you tickets for the Great Wall.
3. There is another reason for recommending on-site purchase. I bought the ticket at Huangtudian Station because the customer service said that the signal at Badaling might be bad, but I actually tested it and found that the signal was actually quite good. I bought a package ticket and originally wanted to take the air cable, but when I actually arrived at Badaling, the wind was extremely strong, so the air cable was out of service! I could only take the ground cable, which I felt was really not worth the fare. The ground cable reaches the south, while most of the attractions are in the north area. The air cable goes to the north. So if you arrive at Badaling on the spot and the air cable is running, I recommend that you buy a package ticket and take the air cable. If you encounter strong winds like me and can't take the air cable, I suggest not buying a package ticket, going in directly with the ticket, going up from the entrance, and climbing to the north, it is still very meaningful.
The road to the pass is as hard as iron, and the heroes of all ages built the city!
The weather was good when I went there, and there were not many people. It took about two and a half hours to go up and down. If you have weak legs and feet, you can take the cable car for 100 yuan round trip and 80 yuan one way. The cable car is 140 yuan round trip, but it is not recommended to take it too far from the parking lot. The Badaling Monument is at the place where you just go up. You don't pass by the cable car or cable car. In addition, the hero certificate at the parking lot only needs a free paper certificate. It costs 30 yuan to take a photo. It's not worth wasting money. Pay attention.
The Great Wall, once visited, still feels not enough. When you go to climb the Great Wall, you must climb it, not take the cable car up, otherwise you will regret it, because you can take the small path when you come down. In fact, you don't have to go to Beijing to climb the Great Wall.
If you haven't been to the Great Wall, you are not a true man. It is worth going, but there are too many people.
Although incomplete, the greatness remains. This is the charm of the Great Wall.
不到長城非好漢.我來了.終於見識到長城的雄偉
He who has not been to the Great Wall is not a true man. I was fooled by this sentence. Haha
If you haven't been to the Great Wall, you are not a true man. You must go to the Great Wall. It is best to go up by car because the lower levels are very steep.
The Badaling Remaining Great Wall (Ancient Great Wall) Scenic Area is a scenic area with a relatively high altitude. The highest point, the seventh floor, is about 1,153 meters above sea level. I personally think that among the Great Wall scenic areas in Beijing, the scenery of the Ancient Great Wall Scenic Area is second only to Mutianyu Great Wall and Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall. If we only talk about the scenery of the Great Wall, it is second only to Mutianyu. Tourists who come to visit the Great Wall may wish to visit here, and they will definitely enjoy a different view from the Badaling Great Wall.
Highly recommended. There are too many people at the Badaling Great Wall. You can come to the ancient Great Wall to have a look. There are not many people here and the scenery is beautiful. It happened to be a rainy day when I came last time, so there were even fewer people. Looking into the distance, the Great Wall is in the clouds. This is where Li Zicheng broke through the pass. The people are gone, but the objects are still there. Touching the wall gives you a sense of the weight of history.
I went there in spring. It was a very quiet section of the Great Wall with nice scenery. There were almost no people there, probably because there was no public transportation.
After getting up in the morning and having some snacks, we prepared some dry food and water for lunch (the bread at the 7-11 convenience store at Beijing North Railway Station is super good) and headed towards the Badaling Great Wall. However, the journey was not as smooth as expected.
We originally planned to take the S2 line train to Badaling, but by the time we arrived at Beijing North Station, the tickets were sold out.
You can only take the bus to Deshengmen to reach your destination
Here is the train route and timetable:
Walk to Lama Temple Station (Exit B Northeast) and take Metro Line 2 Outer Ring 4 stations to Xizhimen and walk 920 meters (about 30 minutes)
Buy a ticket and take the S2 line train to Badaling Great Wall. Students pay 25 yuan, and ordinary people pay 40 yuan.

6 yuan/person, duration 1.5 hours, try to leave before 9 o'clock and come back before 15 o'clock, which is the time period I marked.
I bought the scenic annual pass from Meituan or somewhere else. At that time, I could go there unlimited times within a year. It was too far, so I only went there once. It seemed to be the next stop after Badaling Zoo. There were much fewer people than other Great Walls. If you take the bus, you have to walk a long way. At one point, I thought I was going the wrong way. After entering the park gate, you still have to walk a long way to the Great Wall. There are many apricot trees along the way. When I went there, the apricots were ripe. The Great Wall is also very high and you can walk a long way. Compared with the crowds of people at Shuiguan and Juyongguan, the ancient Great Wall is worth a visit. Maybe you can feel the vicissitudes of the wind there, and after being alone for a long time, you will understand what you want.
The Badaling Ancient Great Wall is located five kilometers southwest of the Badaling Great Wall. It is the western gate of the Badaling Great Wall defense system. There are high mountains and steep cliffs, deep ravines and dangerous gullies. The Great Wall gates are connected and the forts are facing each other.
Absolutely spectacular and majestic! The most important thing is that there are few people. The ancient Great Wall here is also very far away. I think it is no worse than the Badaling Great Wall. The quality of tourists is also very high, and the environment is very clean. Standing on a high place and looking into the distance, I feel that the pressure of the fast pace of life in the city has disappeared. I feel very happy today and took a lot of beautiful photos. The broken walls make people admire
The Great Wall is winding and very impressive.
Badaling Great Wall is a must-see attraction for Beijing travel. It is definitely worth a visit. The beautiful scenery along the way will bring you endless surprises. If you haven't climbed the Great Wall, you are not a true man. It means climbing the 8th floor of the North Tower. In addition, it is far from the city center. You need to buy a ticket at Beijing North Railway Station, or take bus 977 to Deshengmen. The moment we climbed to the top was very shocking. Looking down, the scenery was very, very beautiful, with a wide field of vision, which made people feel comfortable.
If you haven't been to the Great Wall, you are not a true man. Only after you have been to the Great Wall, you will know how high, steep, long and difficult it is. The stone stairs are straight and steep, much higher than the stairs in the mountain city. I sigh at the greatness of the ancients!
This is a photo taken in 1985. That was my first time to the Great Wall. It has been 31 years in a flash.
If you haven't been to the Great Wall, you are not a true man! The eighth floor of the Badaling Great Wall can be said to be the highest! Standing on it and looking at the scenery below the mountain, you will feel like you can see all the mountains! The wind is also very strong! My mood becomes very good!
It is said that you are not a true man if you have not climbed the Great Wall. It was my first time climbing the Great Wall. As I walked along, I was thinking about how the ancients did it. I had a great deal of respect for such a huge project. And Meng Jiangnu was also a very brave girl! It is definitely worth coming. Although climbing the Great Wall is very tiring, I can shamelessly say that this kind of tiredness is still worth experiencing, haha
The weather was great that day, and the climb wasn't too far, the scenery was pretty good
If you haven't been to the Great Wall, you are not a true man. It is a must-visit place to admire the wisdom of the ancients
If you haven't climbed the Great Wall, you are not a true man. I finally had the opportunity to climb the Great Wall with my parents. We set out before dawn and climbed to the top just in time to watch the sunrise. I have to say that the sunrise on the top of the mountain feels very hot even in winter! The view is endless, and I was amazed at how the ancients did it!
The Great Wall is not very famous, but it is still good. There were not many people when we went there, and it felt quite good. It was just cold. I think it would be better to come in summer, but you will be exposed to the sun. Haha
It turns out that the Great Wall is really not easy to climb, especially when it snows~ it's very slippery
爬過冬天夏天的八達嶺,還是冬天令人印象深
Passed by it on the way to Badaling...When you drive up the Beijing-Tibet Expressway, you will see some remnants of the Great Wall one after another, and you can vaguely see its former grandeur.
The Great Wall is amazing. Watching and climbing the Great Wall that retains its original flavor, recalling the spectacular scene of Li Zicheng leading his troops to attack Beijing from here, you no longer feel that you are just looking at ancient monuments, but reviewing history.
Walking on the remnant Great Wall again, I once again felt the wisdom, diligence and bravery of the ancient Chinese working people. The mountain breeze blew unscrupulously in front of me. I took a deep breath and felt refreshed. The apricot trees on both sides were in bud. If you come here when the apricot blossoms are in bloom, the scenery will be even more magnificent. Everyone discussed whether this section of the Great Wall was the Ming Great Wall, the Yan Great Wall or the Qin Great Wall. The Great Wall here is basically made of rubble. The stones are large and small. There is no adhesive between the stones. It is a narrow strip, far less than the scale and strength of the common Ming Great Wall. We feel that it should be older. We have been walking on it for a long time.
If you haven't been to the Great Wall, you are not a true man. The magnificent Great Wall makes me admire the ancients 👍👍👍
There are three Great Walls in Badaling. One is the famous scenic spot known to everyone on earth, one is the Water Pass Great Wall and the other is the Badaling Ancient Great Wall. The Badaling Ancient Great Wall has the place where Li Zicheng broke through the pass. Li Zicheng entered the Great Wall from here. I have been to the Ancient Great Wall twice. The smog is really heavy. Some people say that you can see the Great Wall from a spacecraft. Nonsense. I can hardly see the Great Wall when I stand on the Great Wall.
At present, only the 1,800-meter-long renovated section to the west of the Badaling Great Wall is open to tourists. The remaining section to the east, which is connected to the Badaling Great Wall, has not been renovated. Some places are as steep as Jiankou. However, after climbing that section of the remaining section, the joy in my heart is incomparable, although it is very hard.
When I went there, there were very few people. The ticket price was 40 yuan for adults, 20 yuan for students, and free for those with senior citizen discount cards.
The first time my son climbed the Great Wall, he was a little scared and cried a lot. I didn’t expect that, but I told him the purpose of building the Great Wall and he listened attentively, which helped to allay his fear.
If you haven't been to the Great Wall, you are not a true man. My mother and I are now both Chinese female men. The scenery of the Great Wall is very beautiful.
The history told by the old Great Wall. From the top of the mountain, you can also see the ancient Great Wall and the mountain trail to the north. The Great Wall winds down the mountain, and the trend is very shocking! The mountain is steep! Imagine how much hardship and sweat the ancients had to pay to build these Great Walls, and even the lives of several generations! To be honest, it is far more magnificent than the Egyptian pyramids.
The Badaling Remains of the Great Wall is very wild. Those who are interested can try to conquer it. It is continuous and huge.
The steep slope is 70 degrees. People who are afraid of heights are advised not to go there, as they may feel dizzy.
The slope was a bit steep at the beginning, and only the middle of the road was relatively broken, but as we went deeper, the road gradually became very broken and dilapidated! It was all bricks! At that moment, I really felt the tragic grandeur of building the Great Wall! The collapsed places were all large granite foundations, gravel filled the roadbed, and stone slabs paved the road... At that moment, I really admired the wisdom and hard work of the people in ancient times! We walked for more than two hours and reached what we thought was the highest point. At this time, it seemed that there were only four of us and the ancient people on the Great Wall Mountain! ...
The Badaling Ancient Great Wall Scenic Area is located 5 kilometers southwest of the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area and is the western gate of the Badaling Great Wall. The ancient Great Wall was formerly known as the "Remaining Great Wall" and is the southwest extension of the Badaling Great Wall. As it has not undergone large-scale renovation and restoration, it still maintains its ancient form with traces of incompleteness. It is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
