It is the largest Taoist temple in Beijing! It is also the headquarters of the Chinese Taoist Association. Qiu Chuji once lived here and is buried here! Oh, it is really amazing. I have to go and see it!
The first forest of Quanzhen Taoism, the location of the Chinese Taoist Association, where Qiu Chuji and Yin Zhiping once lived. The ticket is 10 yuan and comes with a stick of incense. It is very big inside, you can go in and take a look, learn about Taoist culture and the legendary stories of these Taoist celebrities.
The reputation of the Quanzhen Taoist temple as the first one is well-deserved. During the Spring Festival, people worship Tai Sui and pray for blessings and good fortune.
Tickets are 10 yuan, cash only.
The yard is large and quiet, and the incense is quite popular.
Beijing, Xicheng District, Baiyun Temple, a Taoist resort.
The photo of the Taoist priest basking in the sun is quite interesting.
The fortune-telling advertisement outside Baiyun Temple is very strange.
Baiyun Temple, in the early Yuan Dynasty, Qiu Chuji, the Changchun Zhenren, was ordered by Genghis Khan to station at Taiji Palace to take charge of Taoism in the whole country, and named it Changchun Palace. His disciple Yin Zhiping established a Taoist temple on the east side of Changchun Palace and named it Baiyun Temple. It is now also the headquarters of the China Taoist Association.
The gate of Baiyun Temple
The white stone turned black
How many people's sweat is left on it
Touch you
Will your wishes really come true?
Baiyun Temple is located on the south bank of the West Moat River, east of Baiyun Road, Xicheng District, Beijing, and south of Fuxingmenwai Street. It is the seat of the Chinese Taoist Association. It was first built in the Tang Dynasty and survived through generations of destruction and reconstruction. It is the first temple of Quanzhen Taoism. Quanzhen should be the faction of Taoist Master Qiu Chuji. The temple also enshrines the statues of the Seven Sons of Quanzhen. Taoism emphasizes transcendence and transcendence, so this place is a quiet place.
Yunji Garden is the backyard of Baiyun Temple. It consists of Yunji Mountain House, Jietai, Xiao Penglai, corridors, stone mountain and small pavilions. It takes nine or eighteen turns from the gate to here, and it feels like a fairy mountain separated by a sea of clouds. There are two small squares in Yunji Garden. Most of the fitness and health activities organized by the temple are held here. This time, I happened to catch up with the teaching of Tai Chi Three Postures. Sitting in the corridor, listening to soft music, watching the immortals in white clothes doing Tai Chi, it feels like I have arrived at Changliu Mountain in the Journey of Flower, a fairyland. Although there are many people, it feels particularly quiet. The pace slows down, the sound slows down, the mind moves, the body and mind are at peace, away from the world, lying high in the hills and valleys, ignoring the myriad things in the world, and not hearing the noise of cars and horses outside the threshold.
The Taoists in Baiyun Temple wear brown clothes, with their hair tied up in a high bun and their skirts fluttering in the wind, looking like immortals. We are used to seeing the enchanting Taoists in white clothes in The Legend of Sword and Fairy and The Journey of Flower, and the real version in Baiyun Temple is not inferior at all. There are young Taoists playing the guzheng, and there are also Taoists practicing swords. They are a Taoist tradition that cultivates the mind and nature, and follows the laws of nature. I hope they can gain the truth.
There is an old Beijing legend: the gods have no trace, only the stone monkeys are left in the temple. It is said that the stone monkeys in Baiyun Temple are the incarnation of gods. Most people who come to the temple want to touch the stone monkeys to get some fairy spirit and wish for good luck. It is said that there are three stone monkeys in the temple. You can slowly look for them when you go there (I only saw a big one on the wall, which was rubbed very shiny).
The ancestral temple of the Quanzhen Sect of Taoism is also the largest Taoist temple in the north. If you are a believer, you can visit as much as you want; if you are just an ordinary person, you can also look for stone monkeys and touch bronze statues, which is quite fun.
On the ninth day of the first lunar month, I came to Baiyun Temple to "touch the stone monkey" and hit the money hole. Baiyun Temple is very popular. It is said that if you can touch the three monkeys of Baiyun Temple, you will have good luck. Unfortunately, I only touched the lucky monkey and the lucky monkey today, and the longevity monkey was circled and couldn't be touched [sad]. Hitting the money hole costs 10 yuan and 50 copper coins. Mr. Bai and I hit several [very happy] and I also asked for a talisman for myself, hoping it will work [good]
Baiyun Temple is located in Baiyun Temple Street outside Xibianmen, Xicheng District, Beijing. The plaque of Beijing Baiyun Temple starts from the screen wall outside the mountain gate, and there are screen wall, archway, Huabiao, mountain gate, Wofeng Bridge, Lingguan Hall, Bell and Drum Tower, Sanguan Hall, God of Wealth Hall, Jade Emperor Hall, Jiuku Hall, Yaowang Hall, Laolu Hall, Qiuzu Hall and Sanqing Siyu Hall. Baiyun Temple is one of the ten large monasteries of Quanzhen Taoism.
Qiu Chuji's Taoist temple is worth a visit. Don't go during the temple fair, there are not many tourists. It's very quiet.
I don't have much to comment on the scenic spots, but I was very impressed by what I saw during the one-hour bike ride home from Xidan today.
Feel the central idea of Taoism, the Tao follows nature, and cultivate your character; inherit traditional Chinese culture and worship the various gods and immortals native to China!
Baiyun Temple is a Taoist temple, where you can see a small Nine Dragon Wall. Baiyun Temple is not too small overall.
Baiyun Temple I lived here when I was a railway soldier in Beijing! The following photos were taken at Baiyun Temple in 1973 with an old Seagull camera 📷!
Quiet in the bustling city, solemn and dignified, with a sense of history
Because of coincidence, I need to go to a temple or Taoist temple. I chose the famous Baiyun Temple in my heart. With the help of the message left by my friends on China-TravelNote, I found three stone monkeys and the stone monkeys in the twelve zodiac signs. I personally think that the reason why the tradition of finding stone monkeys has been so long is that people who pray for blessings can also carefully browse this ancient Taoist temple. The scenery is naturally good, with blue sky and white clouds, green trees and red walls, and devout pilgrims. There are many Ming and Qing antiques in the temple, which are both sacred and solemn to introduce faith, and full of cultural relics and archaeological value. You can learn about the culture of Taoism. I think the person who asked people to tell fortunes at the door is a liar, but the Taoists in the temple have some meaning of taking things as they come and following the laws of nature... After worshiping all the halls devoutly and visiting the Taoist temple antiques that are well preserved and full of religious atmosphere, I learned a lot and my mind was temporarily at peace. It is worth everyone's visit.
The three monkeys will never meet in Baiyun Temple! All three monkeys were found! The new monkey that is obvious at the entrance does not count! Monkeys symbolize intelligence, and the stone monkeys that have been there for a long time seem more spiritual after being touched by believers! The atmosphere of the Taoist temple is very good! There are also fortune tellers at the door. The only thing I remember vividly is that I was charged 300 yuan for fortune telling at the door~~~~~
Baiyun Temple is not far from the nearest subway station Muxidi. It takes about 15 minutes to walk there. You will also pass the Capital Museum on the way. Visiting both places can kill two birds with one stone. Baiyun Temple was first built in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. This has a lot to do with Qiu Chuji, the founder of the Quanzhen Longmen School of Taoism. At the age of 80, he chased Genghis Khan for thousands of miles and stopped the killing with one word. He won the trust of the Mongolians and saved the people of the world. The Mongolian rulers then appointed him to manage Taoism in the world. Baiyun Temple is a typical traditional Taoist temple. The buildings inside have survived hundreds of years without being destroyed, and the main buildings have been preserved.
Baiyun Temple is a Taoist site and enjoys a high status among believers in Beijing.
Buses 717, 80, 26, 45, Special 5 and Special 6 can all go to Baiyun Temple on Baiyun Road.
This is arguably the most classic Taoist temple in China. It originated in the Tang Dynasty and evolved through four dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing, eventually forming the Baiyun Temple we see today.
The name of Baiyun Temple was different in different dynasties. It was called Changchun Temple for a long time because of the Taoist master Qiu Chuji, who presided over the temple. There was also a hall dedicated to the Seven Masters of Quanzhen. Its real history is somewhat consistent with Mr. Jin Yong's novel.
There is a tradition of touching monkeys here. It is said that if you can touch the three monkeys in Baiyun Temple, you will have good luck. I touched them today, haha. It is very difficult to find. I used a hack and it took me some time to find them. The first one is on the wall on the right side of the middle door of the mountain gate, the second one is on the carving below the west end of the mountain gate, and the third one is on the carving below the westernmost stone tablet in front of the Thunder God Temple. I hope someone with destiny can see this review.
Baiyun Temple is near Tianning Temple Bridge. You can visit it after visiting the Capital Museum. Baiyun Temple is a famous Taoist temple. It was built in the Yuan Dynasty. The main deity enshrined there is Qiu Chuji of Quanzhen Sect, who is the Qiu Chuji of the Seven Masters of Quanzhen Sect in The Legend of the Condor Heroes. There is also a hall dedicated to the Seven Masters of Quanzhen Sect in the temple. The ancient building is quite distinctive and the incense is very popular. Many people burn incense inside, but it seems that they cannot bring incense from outside. The Taoist Medical Clinic inside is also said to be very famous.
A holy place that Taoists must visit when they come to Beijing. The Quanzhen Taoist temple has a strong historical and cultural atmosphere.
It is a relatively unpopular place in Beijing. But it is worth a visit. It is one of the main temples of Quanzhen Sect and the seat of the Chinese Taoist Association. The remains of Qiu Chuji are in Qiu Zu Temple.
Baiyun Temple is located outside of Beijing's Xibianmen Gate and is known as the first Taoist temple. As usual, there are many fortune-tellers outside Baiyun Temple. Baiyun Temple is the headquarters of the National Taoist Association. The temple is very quiet, not crowded with tourists, and the garden is very large.
Baiyun Temple is a Taoist temple with a long history, which can be traced back to the Yuan Dynasty. It is also the venue of the China Taoist Association. The religious atmosphere is relatively pure. Baiyun Temple requires a ticket, which seems to be 20 yuan. If you don’t remember the incense, it is best to bring your own incense. The incense here is still very strong. There is a Taoist priest in each hall, playing the guqin, practicing calligraphy, or ringing the bell. He looks calm and peaceful, and the religious atmosphere is strong. Each hall has a history, which can give you a good understanding of the development history of Taoism. Another very important thing is to worship the God of Wealth.
As the place where the head of Quanzhen Sect, Qiu Lao Zhenren, lives, Baiyun Temple is well-known in the world. Here you can experience the profoundness of Taoist culture. Tickets are 10 yuan.
Beijingers have a tradition of going to Baiyun Temple to touch monkeys during the Chinese New Year, so there are a lot of people in Baiyun Temple during the first month of the lunar year, especially on the first and fifteenth days. It is easier to park there now, and there is a large underground parking lot.
Beijing Baiyun Temple is the ancestral temple of the Longmen Sect of Quanzhen Taoism, the seat of the China Taoist Association and the China Taoist College, and was built under the supervision of Taoist Master Qiu Chuji, one of the Seven Masters of Quanzhen Taoism.
This is the most disappointing attraction. Although the ticket is not expensive, there are temples for burning incense everywhere. People of our generation who don’t understand the process just took a quick look and left. However, we tried to touch the stone monkey that is said to bring good luck.
It was a very foggy day when I went to Baiyun Temple, so I wore a mask when I went out! Friends who are interested in the Seven Sons of Quanzhen can go and pay their respects~
The location of the Taoist Association. The Taoist temple founded by Qiu Chuji. A large area. Many cities have its branches, such as Shanghai.
Baiyun Temple, every year during the temple fair, the longest queue is not the queue to enter the temple, but the queue waiting to touch the stone monkey at the door. This is the first monkey. The second monkey has changed color after entering the gate, on the lower left side in front. The third one is on the zodiac wall, where the twelve zodiac animals are lined up in a row. You also have to queue up to touch it.
