Jiufeng Forest Park is located in Xiaoxishan Scenic Area, Haidian District, about 18 kilometers away from the Summer Palace. It is a famous forest park in Beijing and the experimental forest farm of Beijing Forestry University. To the south is Dajue Temple and to the north is Yangtaishan Scenic Area.
Looking at Jiufeng from afar, the two peaks on the mountain range stand opposite each other, just like a vulture flapping its wings ready to fly, so lifelike that Jiufeng got its name from this.
Jiufeng has many wonderful things, one of which is the abundance of trees. It is hard to imagine that there is such a dense forest only a few steps away from the capital. This park of more than 800 hectares is a treasure trove of green plants, with a forest coverage rate of 96.2%. There are 110 families, 313 genera and 684 species of terrestrial plants, making it a natural storage place for green plants.
In March and April, the mountains are covered with peach and apricot blossoms, which is particularly spectacular.

Compared to the mountains in the north, Jiufeng is a little shorter. It is easier to climb, but not as quiet as the north. There are also a little more people.
I went there in March. The scenery was not as beautiful as the green mountains or the golden autumn scenery in October. What impressed me most was the forest on the way up the mountain. Although there were no leaves on the branches, the shape of the trees, like a dragon in the sky, was also very beautiful!
The scenery is average, suitable for mountain climbing. The difficulty coefficient is relatively high, so choose good non-slip hiking shoes and you will have no problem.
When I arrived at the gate of Jiufeng Scenic Area, I showed my annual pass and started chatting with the staff.
I know that the mountains in Haidian are connected, and many hiking enthusiasts and outdoor hikers like to cross or walk through several mountains in a row, but I have never dared to consider it. The staff pointed to the peak in the distance and said that after crossing this mountain, it is Miaofeng Mountain in Mentougou!
Oh my god!
This gate can also allow motor vehicles and motorcycles to pass through, which makes me feel very happy. In fact, the oil channel is only less than one kilometer long, which still saves a lot of trouble.
Not far ahead is another parking lot. This time I didn’t dare to ride forward (most tourists park their cars here). After thinking for a moment, I parked the motorcycle next to the closed tourist center for safety, because I couldn’t wear my motorcycle clothes on the mountain, wouldn’t I die of heat?!
There is a scenic building next to the parking lot: "Xiufeng Ancient Temple". The last thing I want to see is the temple, and I don't understand it either, so I just use it as the starting point for hiking in Jiufeng Scenic Area.
The road conditions at the beginning of the hike in Jiufeng Scenic Area are as follows: at the beginning, it is a flat cement road with a gentle slope, which is quite comfortable to walk on. Then it is a step road, which is not too steep and not very strenuous.
I didn't climb many steps, but when I got to the top, I saw a road again. I saw a motorcycle? It seems that I can still drive or ride a bike up.
Cross the road and continue up the stairs!
But the intensity was indeed not great. After walking for a while, I saw the entrance to the "ancient road" and turned left.
There is no introduction to this ancient mountain trail. I don't know if it is a real ancient trail or a new one. How old is it? At least the road surface is made of big stones, which makes it look like a photogenic place. But the condition is not too old, so I can't judge it. Anyway, I just took a walk to make up the number of steps.
It would be a great pleasure to walk here in midsummer. The ancient mountain trail under the tree-lined avenue is quite interesting. It is not tiring or hot. You can overlook the city from time to time and see the lively places along the way, such as the "Xiaozhai Temple" in the picture below. It was built here in the past by a businessman who hid here to escape debt, haha!
I like natural scenery mostly, but when traveling in China, beautiful natural scenery is bound to include Taoist temples, monasteries, and other religious practice or health-preserving places, which are definitely unavoidable.
Going further, there is another relatively steep staircase, but fortunately the scenic spot is equipped with metal railings. After turning a few corners, I came to a pavilion (I didn't pay attention to the name of the pavilion). Although I was not very tired when I got here, I saw that everyone was staying here to enjoy the view, so I simply sat down to eat something and drink some water.
We are getting closer and closer to the top of the mountain. In fact, there are only a few steps left. Go up the small bridge that looks like an arch in the picture above and you will reach the top of the mountain. There is a big stone with the words "Jiufeng" written on it.
I planned to take a photo in front of this stone, thus ending my trip to Jiufeng Mountain.
A family of three drove for 40 minutes to reach the Jiufeng parking lot. The stone of Jiufeng at the entrance is very beautiful. The front entrance looks very simple. Walking all the way in, the more plants there are, the more plants there are. After arriving at the earthquake measurement view, we rested for 10 minutes and started climbing the mountain. There were small steps all the way. I was very excited when I walked to the ancient road. It was all paved with big stones. It looked very difficult to walk. It had an ancient atmosphere. I especially like the original road! There are several dangerous places. You need to hold your child and walk to Xiaozhai Temple to worship inside. I hope I will get better and better😄! It took about an hour to reach Dianjiangtai. A stone protruded from the cliff with Dianjiangtai written on it. People who are afraid of heights cannot take pictures! The vegetation is very lush all the way. I especially like the stone of Jiufeng, which is very characteristic! It is very open when you reach the top, and it is beautiful to look at Beijing! I especially envy a few young people who dare to climb everywhere. They even sit on the stone with the word Jiufeng engraved on it. I am scared when I see it! The environment and air are great! The mountain is not too high. I like it very much. I will give a brief overview and hope it will be helpful to everyone!
i feel a new world
We went this weekend. There were 346 people sitting at Beigongmen. So if you choose to go in the peak season, there will be a lot of people, so go early. We originally planned to climb Jiufeng Mountain, but we accidentally took the small road and climbed to Yangtai Mountain. It was already past 1 pm, so we didn't go up. It seems that if we climb up Yangtai Mountain, we can reach Miaofeng Mountain. Because it was sunny, the scenery along the way was good, and the flowers were in full bloom. It was a spring trip, and the apricot blossoms were falling all over the head. Everyone should come here on a weekend!
Jiufeng is a park with good natural scenery. There are stone steps to climb, with Wangjing Tower (fire viewing point) on top, and up to the ridge to Yangtai Mountain or Miaofeng Mountain.
Jiufeng is located in Haidian District. The mountain is not too high. The environment is average. It takes one hour to climb to the top of the mountain. There is a stone tablet of Jiufeng on the top of the mountain.
Jiufeng is in Haidian District. It is suitable for people who live in Haidian District to go there. The mountain is not too high. The environment is OK. The ticket is 15 yuan, and the student ticket is 8 yuan. The student ID check is quite strict. You can take bus 346 from Beigongmen to Anhe West Exit to get there. If you can't get there, you can go to the other side, which is a long way away. It takes about an hour to climb to the top of the mountain. There is a stone tablet of Jiufeng on the top of the mountain. There are quite a few people climbing the mountain. After all, it is not far, and there are fewer people than Xiangshan. There will not be so much traffic jam. The rest platform is good. You can play games with a group of people. There is a Guanyin Temple near the top of the mountain. According to legend, a group of people went up the mountain and it rained heavily. Guanyin built a shelter for them, so later generations came here to kneel down and worship.
Get close to nature and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city on weekends. You can go with a few friends or alone.
It's not very big and there's nothing special about it. The only thing that doesn't feel so bad is that the mountain road is more natural, although it's also paved with stones.
Not fun. The scenic spot is big, but too "wild" and I don't like it. Many roads are difficult to walk on, and there are no specially formed steps. There are many unknown insects on the mountain. It is best to equip some insect repellent. I was bitten on the neck by a flying insect, which was very uncomfortable. I only walked part of the way and then turned back. The road to the scenic spot was demolished and dusty.
There are several sections of the road down from Jiufeng that are quite steep. It’s not dangerous, but I suggest you be careful!
There is a seismic survey station at the foot of Jiufeng Mountain. I don’t know if it is still in use. There is a sculpture of Li Shanbang (a person I don’t know).
The travel trajectory was recorded by GPS. The battery ran out at Jiufeng Scenic Area. In fact, the whole journey was back to the starting point of the green dot. The whole journey was about 25 kilometers. I walked slowly, and it took a long time to take pictures and view the scenery. So it took about 9 hours to hike through these two scenic areas.
2013.10.04 Beijing Haidian Jiufeng
A pretty easy hill to climb. A nice little mountain road to walk around and relax.
Regarding the plum blossom viewing at Jiufeng, I go there every year, not for anything else, but just to find a reason for my children to go out and have some fun.
This year, the flowers bloomed earlier than in previous years. In previous years, they bloomed mostly after March.
This is China's first modern earthquake monitoring station. The mountains of Jiufeng are majestic and steep, with peaks connected to each other and deep and quiet valleys. You can experience the steepness of "all the mountains are small", and the tranquility of a paradise. When I went there, I only saw peach blossoms, and other flowers were not in bloom. I went there mainly to take pictures
Jiufeng Mountain is located in Haidian District, not too far from the city. It takes about an hour's drive to the park entrance. The main peak of Jiufeng Mountain is 100 meters above sea level, which is the big rock with Jiufeng written on it. It is 450 meters above sea level. It takes a strong donkey half an hour to climb here, and an ordinary person about an hour. The climbing path is uneven stone steps. Fortunately, you have to pay attention to safety when going up the mountain. After reaching the main peak, there is a road to continue forward to reach the Wangjing Tower, which is more than 700 meters above sea level.
