Beijing Phoenix Ridge Scenic Area

Before I went, I looked up guides online (including China-TravelNote), but I felt that they were not explained clearly. After my personal experience on May Day 2019, I will explain it thoroughly in the hope that it will be helpful to future generations.

As shown in Figure 1, Phoenix Ridge is divided into three lines: north, middle and south, which are marked in dark red, orange and green. The three lines are connected, so just follow the map (there is also a map on the back of the ticket).

I drove myself and searched on Amap. There are three parking lots. Based on the location, I thought there were three parking lots for each of the three routes. But it is not. There are just several parking lots outside the gate.

The ticket is 25 yuan per person, free for those over 65 years old, and there are other discounts and half-price tickets, so you need to bring your ID card or other relevant documents. After buying the ticket and entering the gate, there is a park tour bus, because there is still a certain distance from the gate to the starting point of the line, such as the park gate to the starting point of the north line, it is estimated to take more than 40 minutes to walk. After entering the gate, about 200 meters away is the boundary of the three lines.

It took me a whole day to complete the tour. I even got sick when I got home. I guess it was because I took off my coat while climbing the mountain, which was soaked with sweat. I caught a cold when I sat down to rest in the mountain breeze. There is no cableway here. You have to walk up and down the mountain. It is pure mountain climbing. It is not as good as the Little Huangshan Mountain in the west of Beijing or the green lung of Beijing as described in the introduction. The so-called "Flying Stone Pagoda" at the top is shown in Figure 2. You need to queue up for the ladder on the north line. As shown in Figure 3, it is a steep and narrow ladder carved on the stone. You can go directly through the gate of the temple next to it (where water is sold) to go up the mountain, which can avoid queuing up and you don’t have to climb the "ladder" (of course, if you like it, that’s another matter). After passing the ladder, you can consider turning back, because there is no scenery on the way to the top. The most fatal thing is to test your physical strength. Basically, you have to rest less than 100 meters. If you can’t climb anymore, looking at the signs along the way, you want to cry: Why did it take so long to climb only 50 meters? It is said that it is difficult to get off a tiger. I walked and stopped along the way, and finally I managed to reach the top. To go down the mountain, you can follow the middle line on the map and visit Longquan Temple. It is easier to go down the mountain, but be careful to hold on to the steep slope and narrow road.

In short, it’s just mountain climbing and physical training.

Beijing's famous mountain climbing spot is more popular with organizers of various activities because the difficulty level is acceptable to ordinary people. Most people who climb the mountain take the northern route, but there is no clear indication of the route of the northern route, whether it is the diagram on the back of the ticket or the route map in the scenic area. People who come here for the first time are all in a state of confusion, not knowing how to get up the mountain.

I have been there several times and feel that the construction of the scenic area has been following up. The routes are becoming more standardized and clear. There are three climbing routes to choose from. You can search and view my travel notes for detailed analysis (20190828 Autumn Walking in Beijing North Xiaohuangshan). It is recommended to bring enough drinking water, some food, wear hiking shoes, bring hiking poles, and spend a day to visit. The scenery is beautiful, especially in autumn when the weather is good. Magnificent scenery. The climbing difficulty is not difficult, and you can reach the top with some effort. It is not suitable for people with waist, legs and knees.

Beijing Fenghuangling Natural Scenic Park is located in Haidian District. It is famous for its unique stone mountains and beautiful rural scenery. There are also the famous Longquan Zen Temple and the thousand-year-old ginkgo tree. In spring, the apricot blossoms all over the mountains make this place particularly charming. There are also vertical rock walls inside, which require some physical strength.

A nice hiking spot. The weather was good today. I went up the mountain from the northern route, which is the road to the reservoir, all the way to the Feilai Stone Pagoda, then turned back to the central route and reached the top three-story pavilion on the central route. I felt that the central route was much steeper than the northern route, so the northern route was better. I met many wild cats that were not afraid of people and ate everything. Generally speaking, including rest, eating, drinking, taking pictures, etc., it took a total of four hours to go up and down the mountain. Recommended!

Phoenix Ridge is definitely worth climbing in Beijing

There is a feeling that the summit will turn around.

I took the middle route from Longquan Temple up the mountain to Linglong Pagoda. From Linglong Pagoda, I need to go back a section of the original route and fork to the north route. The north route goes to Feilai Stone Pagoda and takes the plank road down the mountain. It is exactly the opposite of the recommended route.

The north route is in reverse, so follow the signs to avoid the ladder. I did not come down from the ladder.

It consumes a lot of physical energy.

Longquan Temple is 166 meters above sea level, Linglong Tower is 621 meters, Feilai Stone Tower is 640 meters above sea level.

There are many peach and apricot trees on the mountain. It is best to enjoy the flowers in early April.

Next time I'll take the north line and take an electric car for 15 yuan, which will save me some distance.

The scenery exceeded expectations, and the ticket price was only 25. Don't miss it if you like hiking.

The mountain I climbed after recovering from a serious illness was not high but very steep.

Fenghuangling is a relatively close tourist destination in the suburbs of Beijing, located in Sujiatuo Town, Haidian District, with a total area of ​​10.62 square kilometers. The mountain is not too high, with exotic flowers and plants, and rugged rocks, which is suitable for all kinds of people to exercise.

We took the north-up, middle-down route, and passed the pavilion of Jade Rabbit Stone in the middle. In order to walk through the winding path, we chose to climb up. It took a long detour, but I was very happy because I like this kind of rock climbing, which is a little exciting and safe. The steps and chains made by various scenic spots on the mountain are still very attentive and in place, which is no worse than Huashan in this respect.

I think the best time to travel is the last weekend of March, which is next week, March 31st and 1st. Because it was very hot when we went there today, and the flowers have already bloomed, there will be too many people during the Qingming Festival, so it would be a good time to go on the weekend at the end of March.

In May, the peach blossom season, I took the northern route of Phoenix Ridge.

Phoenix Ridge Park is a mountain park very close to the city. There are temple ruins, strange mountains and rocks in the scenic area. The hiking trails are steep and dangerous, and the scenery is also very beautiful. A mountain climbing festival and a spring flower viewing festival are held every year. It is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.

It's a nice place. It took more than 4 hours to walk through several hills.

The scenery is nice, the air is fresh, there are not many people, and there is a very famous temple - Longquan Temple.

It is very tiring to climb Phoenix Mountain. The slope is very steep and the road is not close, but the scenery is of course very good! The view from the mountain is very wide. However, there are almost no small shops selling water on the mountain, the service is not very good, and the mobile phone signal becomes bad at the top of the mountain.

I went there on November 12, 2012. It's near Xiangshan Mountain, and there are fewer people than in Xiangshan Mountain. But the scenery is better than Xiangshan Mountain.

Fenghuangling is a very suitable place for Beijingers to escape the heat in summer. The air is fresh and the temperature is 3 to 4 degrees lower than that in the urban area. In the hot summer, going hiking and eating wild game in the nearby farmhouses is a more pleasant weekend choice. However, the service facilities and service levels of the surrounding farmhouses are uneven, so you must be careful to identify them.

On Sunday (August 6), I went to Niegezhuang Village near Fenghuangling Scenic Area with my friends. There is a farmhouse on the mountainside, known as the Fairyland Farmhouse (as shown in the picture). The owner's reception attitude was very bad. He charged 200 yuan for a meal of tofu with scallions and a fish stew, and refused to give the invoice. During the argument, the owner attacked the guests and cursed them, charging them randomly. So, I remind all tourists to be careful in their choices, and don't go happy and return disappointed.

It exceeded my expectations. The scenic area is 3A, but if we only talk about the mountain, it is much better than some 4A scenic areas. The key is that the transportation is convenient. It is really close to the city. You can take 346 from the terminal of Metro Line 16 to the scenic area directly. I chose the north line to climb the summit. The road is far away. I need to walk about 2 kilometers of flat road to reach the north line mountaineering entrance, but the scenery along the way is good, and there are several cultural attractions. The climbing process is not too sunny, but the sign of the scenic area needs to be improved. There is no particularly clear explanation at the fork, which is basically based on guessing. Going down the mountain from Shibapan-Baita Reservoir is 8 kilometers in total and takes about 2 hours.

The scenery is beautiful, the toilets are not bad, the air is good, there are fewer people than Xiangshan, there are many routes, it is definitely impossible to walk all the routes at one time, the north line, the middle line, and the south line are very complicated, and there are small branches for children. Fenghuangling Park is divided into three tourist routes: north, middle and south. Feilai Stone Peak is on the north route. The north route is famous for its strange peaks, strange rocks, beautiful water and secluded caves. The north route is divided into two mountaineering routes: south and north. The south route is relatively flat and easier to climb, but the journey is longer. The north route is shorter, but the slope is steep near the main peak. We chose the south route. We climbed the mountain from the road near Xinghua Village. There are Maple Pavilion, Shade Pavilion, Shangfang Temple, Tantric Pagoda and other attractions along the south side. There are many temple fairs. You can go to enjoy the flowers in April, but there are really a lot of people. However, the environment and scenery are absolutely beautiful.

The scenic area is divided into three routes and you may not be able to see it all in one day. It is still worth going for mountain climbing, but there is less vegetation on the mountain, so it is not recommended in hot weather.

During the Qingming Festival, I didn’t have enough time to travel far, but I didn’t want to visit those famous tourist attractions with large crowds. I found out online that the Apricot Blossom Festival was being held at Phoenix Ridge. I thought that my child was already 6 and a half years old and should be able to climb mountains and exercise, so I decided to drive to Phoenix Ridge as the first mountain he would challenge in his life.

The full price of Phoenix Ridge ticket is 25, half price is 13, and online ticket is 22 for adults.

In order to avoid the peak travel time, we set off at 7 o'clock and navigated all the way to the scenic spot. Traffic had already started queuing at the entrance.

We parked in the parking lot near the entrance of the scenic area, 10 yuan per car.

Later we found out that cars can actually be driven in. Except for the middle line, the starting points of the north and south lines are a bit far from the gate of the scenic area. We chose the north line where the attractions are relatively concentrated, which is about 20 minutes' walk. Of course, you can also take a 15-yuan electric car to save energy.

Tips: The North Line and the Central Line can be connected, and you can arrange to go up from the north and get off from the middle. If you drive in, you have to go back to the original starting point of the North Line to pick up the car.

We started to climb the mountain from the north line at 9:30. The baby was still young, so we stopped and started along the way. The road was all stone steps. I heard that there was a ladder on the north line. Considering the child was young, we chose to avoid the ladder (when we came across a pond, we took the stone bridge on the right to go up). We originally planned to walk as far as we could, but with our encouragement, we finally reached the top. After the picnic at the top of the mountain, the child walked briskly down the mountain and returned to the bottom of the mountain at 15:00. The baby was great!

As the closest natural scenic park to the city, Phoenix Ridge holds the Apricot Blossom Festival during the Qingming Festival. The scenic area is divided into three routes. The northern route has the best scenery and the intensity of the climb is not difficult. Be careful if you want to take the middle route, the middle route is very steep and narrow, there are many people, and there will be a long queue. There are many mountain peach blossoms on the top of the north route, and the mountains are still very beautiful. There is not enough vegetation on the mountain climbing route, and it is relatively sunny. It is estimated that it will be very hot in summer.

Phoenix Ridge is much better now than before, with different scenery in every season. The route design is also very reasonable, basically the day is not too tight, not too tiring, and basically no problem for children and the elderly. In spring, apricot blossoms are all over the mountain, in summer, it is a natural oxygen bar, and in autumn, the mountain is full of colors.

The nearest oxygen bar in the suburbs of Beijing is worth a visit. The Longquan Temple at the foot of the mountain is famous, but it is under renovation and cannot be visited.

It is a very low mountain with complete supporting facilities. It is suitable for older people to climb for leisure.

A very good scenic spot, I went there three times in two years, the mountains are beautiful and the flow of people is moderate.

Fenghuangling Park has three routes: north, middle and south. The weather in Beijing was great a few days ago! Hiking is a good choice. Fenghuangling is a mountain close to the city. It is very nice. After seeing the Feilai Stone Pagoda, go down the mountain. There are also more attractions on the north route. It is best to bring two bottles of water. There is no water for sale more than half of the way. The scenery is beautiful when you climb to the top of the mountain.

There are not many people, but it is very quiet and the sky is blue. It takes more than 40 minutes to get to the Summer Palace by car.

A very good natural scenic spot~, few people, beautiful scenery, unique~~

The middle line is centered on the ancient temple Longquan Temple. Walking along the mountain, you can see the ancient oriental health culture practice field and the Yinliang Pavilion with a moving legend and the largest cliff inscription "Phoenix Ridge" in Beijing; the south line is centered on Huangpuyuan (Holy Water Courtyard), one of the "eight water courtyards" in the west of Beijing during the Jin Zhangzong period. There are the largest stone tower in Beijing, the Diamond Tower, the oldest Buddhist statue "Northern Wei Stone Buddha", the beautiful Lu Zu Cave and the ruins of the once prosperous ancient incense road (the "Old North Road" of Miaofeng Mountain for incense); the north line wins with strange peaks, strange stones, beautiful water and secluded caves; there are the "ladder to the sky" known as the danger of Huashan, the mysterious and deep ancient ape cave, the famous "divine spring" and "curtain waterfall" and other wonderful scenes.

Phoenix Ridge feels very good, and the transportation is convenient. The last bus at the entrance of the scenic area is at 9:30. The main thing is that the mountain scenery is also great. There are cold springs in the valley to drink. The spring water is icy cold in the summer, which is very refreshing!

The reasons why I like Phoenix Ridge: 1. The air is good; 2. There are people young and old; 3. The scenery can be appreciated from many angles and at different levels; 4. There are fruits to be picked in three seasons; 5. You can carry some spring water home to make tea; 6. There is a kitten on the mountain, it became a mother half a month ago (it really is a kitten, I don’t know how it became a mother), I have to bring it some food; 7. Watch the squirrels running around in the trees.

If you have time, you can go for a walk.

The north line is the longest, 4.2 kilometers, all mountain roads, with the most attractions, but it is more challenging. The ticket price is 25, free for those below 1.2, and 5 yuan for driving into the park, which is a relatively reasonable fee.

There is only one bus to the scenic area, which is very popular around the Qingming Festival, and there are many peach blossoms in the mountains. The scenery is very nice!

There are many strange rocks and many ancient temple ruins. The scenic area can be connected to Yangtai Mountain, Miaofeng Mountain, and Baihujian Scenic Area.

Phoenix Ridge is really magnificent, and it takes a lot of physical strength to climb up. Some places on the way were very steep, and I was so scared that I didn't dare to look back, and my legs were weak. When I really climbed to the top of the mountain and had a panoramic view of Beijing, I felt that everything was worth it. We went to Phoenix Ridge during the Qingming Festival. Because there was a cemetery not far away, the bus was very crowded and there was a traffic jam along the way. Even if you go to Phoenix Ridge on weekdays and weekends, there will be no shortage of buses. 9 o'clock in the morning is already the peak time for the trip, and you have to queue up to take the bus from 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I hope everyone will plan their itinerary well.

It is a relatively unique scenic spot in the suburbs of Beijing. It is large, not crowded, and the ticket price is not expensive. If you have good physical strength, it is worth a visit.

It's still tiring to climb up along the north line, but the scenery is great

A good place for a spring outing in the suburbs of Beijing. Located in the northwest of Beijing, take the Badaling Expressway to the Bei'anhe exit and head west, follow Beiqing Road to Sujiatuo intersection or Bei'anhe intersection and head north to Niegezhuang, and then west to reach the scenic area. However, if it is a weekend or holiday, you must set off as early as possible, as the traffic jam on the Badaling Expressway is well known. And it feels that if there are many cars on the narrow road that Fenghuangling passes, you can't see the end of the traffic jam. There are still many flowers for spring outings. My most detailed personal experience is that standing on the mountain overlooking the city, and my mood will suddenly become brighter.

The mountain was shrouded in mist and it took about two and a half hours to climb up. It took two grown men a whole day to climb up and down, and they even took the wrong road when they climbed up the mountain!!! There were many interesting cats on the top of the mountain!

Beijing is a place where the city is prosperous and the suburbs are also very beautiful. You can pay more attention to it.

After many days of continuous rain in Beijing, it finally cleared up today. Classmate Li drove me to Phoenix Ridge for an outing. With a happy and full mood, and a schoolbag of delicious food, we embarked on the journey of the North Line. The North Line sees flowing springs and waterfalls, pagoda caves, stone cliff wonders, blablablabla ～～～～ (10,000 words omitted here～～). The real scene is like this: climbing mountains in this season is simply a brain cramp. The sun is scorching, the road up the mountain is steep and there are many steps, and the sweat evaporates as soon as it seeps out. With the mentality of a conqueror, I climbed to the highest point of the scenic area, "Flying Stone Tower", but I actually saw a pseudo-ancient building, a postmodern toy tower. I was really deceived by the picture on the ticket～～～ However, if you choose a suitable season to climb the North Line, it should feel very good, climb the extremely dangerous ladder, and feel the magic of the interlaced stones and the uncanny workmanship of nature. It is really a beautiful thing worth it.

It is a bit far from the western suburbs of Haidian, but fortunately there is bus No. 346, and there are many buses, so it is quite convenient, but there are many people and it is crowded. Sometimes you have to stand for a long time. After getting off the bus, you have to walk a distance to get to the entrance of the scenic area. It supports the use of Beijing Scenic Annual Pass, just scan the QR code. There are three tour routes: North, Middle and South. Due to limited time, I only took the middle route. There are not many cultural attractions, mainly climbing and viewing mountains. The roads and steps are well built, which is very convenient for going up and down the mountain. There are many pavilions in the mountains. You can stop and walk, and you won’t be too tired. I passed by Longquan Temple, but I didn’t go in, for fear of disturbing the monks and believers. I passed by the reservoir, but there was not much water. By the way, the villagers at the entrance of the scenic area sell mineral water for two yuan, which is much more conscientious than some scenic spots that increase the price by five or ten yuan!

It's worth a visit. The scenery on the mountain is very nice. Because the weather was very good that day, there were girls so we didn't finish the walk, so we mainly took pictures of the clouds and didn't take many pictures of the scenic spots. We didn't visit many scenic spots. The last time we went to the sky ladder, we were almost there, but no one wanted to go. It was a pity. I must go again next time if I have the chance.

I went there in September and got a lot of walnuts. I walked three routes in one day and my calves were sore. I haven't exercised for a long time. My waist and legs were sore after climbing the mountain. The air in the mountains is good and the scenery is nice. It was troublesome to squeeze into the bus from Beigongmen in the morning.

"Strange peaks": various shapes and forms, competing for strangeness and uniqueness, the Goddess Peak is breathtaking; the Lion Peak is like a dragon and a tiger; "Strange rocks": strange rocks stand in a forest, with both form and spirit, such as a jade rabbit flying in the air, a stone monkey playing in the sky, and a lover whispering, with thousands of postures; "Forest sea": ancient pines, cypresses, and ginkgo trees, towering ancient trees; peach forests, apricot forests, and apple forests, a forest garden world, where you can both sightsee and pick fruits by yourself; "magic spring": rich in elements, sweet and refreshing, the best among the springs, famous far and wide. The scenic area has flowers in three seasons and scenery in four seasons: in spring, there are "Taoyuan Xinghai" and "Yiqiao Chunzhao"; in summer, there are "Silver Silk Broken Jade" and "White Waterfall Curtain"; in autumn, there are "Red Leaves in Late Autumn" and "Golden Fruit Fragrance"; in winter, there are "Layered Mountains Clear Snow" and "White Jade Hanging Upside Down". It is a popular place for spring outings, summer heat escape, autumn fruit viewing and winter snow viewing.

Fenghuangling Natural Scenic Area is a piece of pure land bestowed by nature on human beings, a piece of uncut jade. "The scenery of the distant suburbs, the roads of the nearby suburbs, Beijing's natural air conditioning!

Beijing Fenghuangling Natural Scenic Area is located in Niegezhuang Township, Haidian District. If you go west to the end of Beiqing Road and then a little north, there are three tourist routes: the South Line, the Middle Line, and the North Line.

The weather is very good. Although it is cloudy, it is neither too cold nor too hot, and there is only slight pollution. In Beijing, even slight pollution is already good weather that we dare not expect.

The climb was quite smooth. Especially after the Jade Rabbit scenic spot, I chose to walk the winding path of the cave and pass under the huge rocks, which was quite interesting. Then I went back to the road to the ladder and climbed all the way to the Feilai Stone Pagoda. After that, I saw the ruins of Shangfang Temple and went down the mountain towards the middle line. The steps on the middle line seemed to have been rebuilt and were particularly easy to walk. I passed the Baita Reservoir, which had little water and good scenery. Longquan Temple was the end of the trip. I almost went the wrong way. It turned out that new buildings were being built, and the old buildings were no longer eye-catching. There were many people practicing, and it was worthy of being a famous temple with high education in Beijing.

The scenery is good from late spring to early autumn, suitable for hiking and sightseeing. It is a little outside the West Sixth Ring Road North Road, and the transportation is relatively convenient.

Tickets are not expensive. Transportation: Take bus 346 directly to the Summer Palace. However, it is located on the northern edge of Haidian District. It is more convenient to drive along Beiqing Road. There are plenty of parking spaces except during the Buddhist ceremonies and the Apricot Blossom Festival. The signature Apricot Blossom Festival in April, the Flying Stone on the north line; the incense of the Quan Temple on the middle line, there are Buddhist ceremonies on important days, and the incense is quite popular; the queue for the Beishan Spring Water on the south line. There are farmhouses outside the scenic area, and you can enjoy picking. It is suitable for spring outings.

Before departure, I checked online and consulted with fellow travelers. If it is a one-day tour, it is best to go to the middle line and the north line. Because the three routes in the Phoenix Scenic Area are too large to be completed in one day, the shortest is the middle line, which has few attractions, but it has a very famous temple "Longquan Temple". The height difference of this route is not large, and it can be visited in less than an hour. The second is the north line. It is said that the north line is the most challenging. Its "Flying Stone Pagoda" has a maximum altitude of 748 meters, which is the highest peak in the entire Phoenix Ridge Scenic Area. There are the most attractions along the way, and the most challenging cliff "ladder to the sky" can be compared with the dangers of Huashan. It is also very exciting. The highest point is the "Flying Stone Pagoda", which inspires me not to give up until the end. In addition, autumn is the best time to see red leaves. The scenery of the north line in autumn is charming, the ginkgo gradually turns yellow, the torch, the cotinus, and the maple leaves slowly turn red, colorful, and the forest is dyed. It is a good place for you to watch red leaves. Because I didn't go to the south line this time, I can't give too much comments. I heard that the road is better and there are many attractions. The most famous ones are the Northern Wei Dynasty Stone Buddha, Diamond Pagoda, Huangpuyuan Bottom Cave, etc. It is better to go in summer. Travel is like this, you always have to leave a little regret to make you always think about it, so I will definitely go to the south line next time.

It is quite enough to visit Phoenix Mountain in one day. The mountain is not particularly high. The most valuable thing is the amazing scenery of the cliffs. The mountain road is a little steep. It is an ideal place for people who like to climb on big rocks to take pictures, but be careful!

I went there on a weekend during the Apricot Blossom Festival. There were many people, but not so crowded that you could only look at people. Parking spaces were also easy to find. If you want to see the apricot blossoms, you should go to the south line. There are special tour buses that depart when they are full. We did not go to see the apricot blossoms, but went straight to Longquan Temple on the central line. After turning around, we started climbing the mountain. The scenic spots on the back of the ticket are clearly marked, but the actual names of the scenic spots are not very clear, so I don’t know where I am going. Anyway, there is only one road going up, and the scenery along the way is still good, which is worth seeing. I walked and stopped, and my friend was weak. After 1 and a half hours, he only walked to the Dragon and Phoenix Pavilion and returned. At the fork in the road on the way back, the old man selling water pointed out a way to the north line. There is only one water seller on the mountain, personal behavior, 10 yuan a bottle, the price is the same as Mount Tai. The main thing is that it is really too cruel to go down the mountain. I have walked the steps of Xiangshan many times and never had knee pain, but after walking the steps of Phoenix Ridge, the pain in the knee is annoying. My friends who were with me all said their knees hurt, and I heard many people say so on the way. So I personally think that the height of the steps is a problem. My knees still felt uncomfortable the next day. I really don't want to climb Fenghuangling again.

It is worth mentioning that if you go to Fenghuangling, you must go to Che'erying's pancakes with hairtail. The main dishes are pancakes with hairtail, special eggplant, scrambled eggs, and free porridge. The signs are very clear and Baidu Maps can navigate correctly. There are more people on weekends and you need to queue up, so it's best to miss the regular meal time.
