Beijing Xishan National Forest Park

There are a lot of flowers. It's very tiring to climb to the Ghost Laughing Rock. The scenery after reaching the top is average.

Xishan Forest Park is less crowded and has charming autumn colors. It is more suitable to arrive after 3 pm. There are parking spaces. The ticket price is 10 yuan, and it is free for senior citizens.

I went to Xishan in mid-April. The mountain was not very green yet, but the winter jasmine flowers were in full bloom. It took more than an hour to climb to the Ghost Laughing Stone, which is quite tiring if you don't exercise regularly.

It is said that it is a good place to see red leaves.

Much better than Xiangshan and less crowded

To the south of Xiangshan, it is the same mountain as Xiangshan, the scenery is similar, but there are far fewer people.

The ticket is 10 yuan, half price for seniors, there is no traffic jam nearby, the parking lot is large and you can park anywhere, 20 yuan with no time limit.

There were too many people in Xiangshan and there was a traffic jam. I turned around and went to the nearby Xishan Forest Park. I just wanted to kill time and wait until 6 o'clock to go to the Ghost Laughing Stone.

Compared with other autumn scenes in Beijing, the advantage of Xishan National Forest Park is that there are fewer people! Although it is very close to Xiangshan, there are much fewer people than Xiangshan. The air was still quite good on the day I went there. There were several sections of the road where I could take pictures at will. It was relatively quiet and I didn't have to worry about whether there were people in the photo. The only shortcoming, which is also an advantage, is that there are not many commercial services, and there is no place to buy water. It is even more impossible to sell things!

There are not many scenic spots, the signposts are not very clear, the signal on the mountain is not very good, and I took a lot of detours. The blue sky and white clouds are a plus, and there are not many people. The climbing environment is relatively comfortable. It would be better if the signposts were better. The only regret is that I took the wrong road and missed the Huaxi water fog time...

Before I went there, I thought it was an ordinary park. But after I went there, I found that mountain climbing in Beijing can also be challenging. It is not easy to climb up the Ghost Laughing Rock. There are really beautiful views at high places. Climbing all the way, the scenery is endless, especially in the autumn in Beijing. Xishan is the highest mountain I have ever seen in Beijing! Ghost Laughing Rock is our target height. However, the real entrance to the mountain climbing is Hongye Ridge next to it, and the mountain climbing road has just begun! Standing on Xishan, you can see the big Beijing city in the east and the small imperial capital!

I came to Xishan Forest Park during the National Day holiday. The autumn leaves were not yet red, the flowers had already fallen, and black swans were hard to find, but I still gained a lot from the fitness and mountain climbing.

There are three trails in the park, the hiking trail, the forest trail, and the fitness trail. We took the hiking trail up the mountain and the forest trail down the mountain. There was no turning back and the scenery was unobstructed. The fitness trail seemed to be specially prepared for cyclists, and many cyclists came together. From the top, you can see the famous high-rise buildings in Beijing and the Summer Palace not far away. The climbing difficulty of Xishan is not difficult, and a mountaineer can reach the top in 20 minutes.

It is worth mentioning that the park also has a forest bathing area specially prepared for children. It is an amusement park in the forest. It should be more fun when there is water in summer! At the same time, it is educational and entertaining, and there are many signs introducing biological knowledge in nature. A large area allows children to play and fly kites!

1. The altitude is 500 meters, but the challenge is beyond expectation. There are three hiking routes, and I accidentally chose the longest one, which is 20,000 steps around Xishan.

2. There is almost no commercialization in the scenic area. There is only a store selling water and popsicles not far from the entrance.

3. The scenery is nice. The blue sky, green trees, wild flowers on the roadside, and hairy grass in the sun always bring surprises. The spray in the forest bathing area makes you feel like you are in a fairyland.

4. Both leisure and challenge are suitable. Bring a tent and a tablecloth and find a flat surface at the entrance of the park to spend a day quietly; you can also choose to climb to the top of Huanxi Mountain; some mountain roads in the scenic area are so steep that it is daunting. In order to avoid detours, we took a small path with trees and weeds intertwined. The National Forest Park feels like climbing a wild mountain.

Mark it again, when I first entered the park, I saw several silver-haired grandparents having a picnic together. It was a very heartwarming scene.

Because I live at the foot of Xishan Mountain, I often go there. In summer, I usually get up early in the morning and follow the grandpa and aunt to climb the mountain. It is flat and easy to climb.

There is a platform in the dense woods, which is very cool and comfortable. There is also a stream to play in, which is also suitable for running. I saw many people running. The biggest features are the 25-meter-high mountain and water waterfall in the main gate area and the 500-meter-long Huaxi. The park also has a large open lawn, which is suitable for the whole family to play and relax. There are many green plants in the scenic area, and there are many hiking trails. The altitude is not high, and the climbing is not difficult. After climbing to the top of the Ghost Laughing Stone, you can overlook the city of Beijing. I have been there twice, once in early spring and once in autumn. The scenery of Xishan in autumn is not much inferior to that of Pofengling and Xiangshan. Although there are more tourists than usual, it is not crowded. It is definitely a very cost-effective park.

Compared with three years ago, the garden design of Xishan Forest Park has changed a lot. The archway outside the park gate is very impressive, the scenery inside the park is exquisite, the artificial waterfall is well designed to add dynamism to the park, and the red leaves along the way attract tourists to stop and take pictures.

The park holds the Peony Culture and Art Festival, where visitors can enjoy the peonies and herbaceous peonies.

One autumn, I wanted to go to Xiangshan to see the red leaves, but there were too many cars to drive up, so I turned to Xishan Forest Park. There is a large flat area on the top of the slope. The lawn on the large platform is very large. Some people play football, fly kites, and set up tents. It is suitable for the whole family. The bus is convenient. There is a parking lot. The car is 20 yuan per time. It is not far from the Xiangshan Botanical Garden. There is a ramp up the mountain, which can be used to push a stroller. It is quite convenient. There are many toilets.

I used an annual ticket. It is very suitable for a family outing on weekends. There are many routes to the mountain. It is recommended to choose a flat road to go up the mountain. Although it will be a bit far, the scenery along the way is beautiful and safe. It took me one and a half hours to reach the top of the mountain on the flat road...

You don’t have to take the stairs to go up and down the Xishan Forest Park, and the distance is just right, which is suitable for walking and fitness without hurting your knees.

A good place for leisure, fitness, mountain climbing, and picnics. There are many paths suitable for all kinds of people to choose from. Another good place to see red leaves in autumn. Artificial spray equipment has been added along the Huaxi Trail. Walking slowly here is like being in a fairyland. Climbing to the highest peak, the Ghost Laughing Stone, you can overlook the city.

When I went there, I entered the park from the gate, passed the artificial waterfall and rockery, and chose to climb up from a path near the forest bathing area. After a steep uphill staircase, I saw an obvious north-south road. The left hand side (downhill) leads to Badachu, and there is a passable path just above the staircase leading to the Laughing Ghost Stone. On the way to the Laughing Ghost Stone, I passed a military management area (no passage), but I could walk along a path next to it (on the right) to the Laughing Ghost Stone. When the weather is good, I can go to the Laughing Ghost Stone at the Laughing Ghost Stone. To the east, you can overlook most of Beijing, to the south you can see the Yongding River and the Garden Expo Park, and to the north you can clearly see the top of Xianglu Peak; starting from the Ghost Laughing Stone, walk along the small road outside Xiangshan Park (it will take a long time), and after you see a white tower, walk down the mountain to Biyun Temple and the north gate of Xiangshan Park. Basically, you can get to Xiangshan Park without a ticket (Note: before the wall of Xiangshan Park, you could go directly to Xianglu Peak, but now you can only go around in a big circle from the Guajia Tower to Biyun Temple and then enter Xiangshan Park from the north gate).



Bus routes:

Take buses 630, 360, 360 Express, 698, 714, etc. and get off at Nanhetan Station. If you drive, drive west along Minzhuang Road to the end, which is the gate of Xishan National Forest Park.

The tickets are cheap, the natural environment is good, there is a natural oxygen bar, a small bridge and flowing water, and it is refreshing. You can enjoy the flowers and the scenery. It is a good place. You can bring food with you and go for a picnic in good weather.

There are few people, which is great, but there are also many wild mountains. I climbed up the wild mountains and got lost. If I didn’t meet anyone, I couldn’t find the way. It was quite exciting.

I've been there twice. The second time I was in a bad mood, so I went hiking. Four colleagues and I talked and laughed all the way. There was a section of stairs that looked really scary. The weather in Beijing was particularly good on April 17th. Standing on the top of the mountain and overlooking the entire city of Beijing, the sky was blue. I came here once in early spring, when it was still cold and not many people were there. This time the peonies in the park were in bloom, with flowers and plants, mountains and water. It is very suitable for entrepreneurial companies to come here for team building. A group of more than a dozen people, hiking, picnics, flying kites, there are large areas of grass, and sunbathing. This kind of team building is much better than singing and eating in reinforced concrete. It is worth referring to for entrepreneurial companies and small teams.

Xishan National Forest Park is located in the western suburbs of Beijing, on the side of the West Fifth Ring Road. It is the closest "forest" park to downtown Beijing. A large stone tablet inscribed with "Beijing Xishan National Forest Park" by Han Meilin lies at the entrance of the park. Then what comes into view is the man-made landscape of waterfalls, cascading water, streams, lakes, and suspension bridges. Halfway up the slope, you have to take the mountain trail. You walk and stop, panting. Hongye Ridge is the best place to view red leaves.

Xishan National Forest Park is located at the foot of Xishan Xiangshan. You can hike up the mountain to the top of the mountain, where you can see the Laughing Ghost Rock. Standing here and overlooking Beijing, the night view is very beautiful. When the visibility is good during the day, you can see the CBD area of ​​the East Third Ring Road at a glance. It is definitely the best place to have a panoramic view of Beijing.

The vegetation is lush and green. The mountain flowers all over the mountain are really pleasing to the eyes. The park is very large, and we went there twice but still couldn't walk through the whole park.

Xishan National Forest Park is located in Xiaoxishan, western suburbs of Beijing, between Xiangshan and Badachu. It was originally the Xishan Experimental Forest Farm, a wild mountain for casual climbing, but was converted into a national forest park in the past two years.

You can see the scenery of Beijing when you climb up the mountain. There are some flat places where you can set up your tent and camp.

There are not many recreational facilities in the park. It is a good place for people to go hiking and keep fit, and there are many hiking trails to choose from.

The parking lot at the entrance is large and convenient. The ticket price of 10 yuan is moderate.

I drove to the top of the mountain by accident via Heichen Road (from Heishitou to Chenjiazhuang). I chatted with a local aunt and learned that this is Xishan National Forest Park. There are obstacles on the road ahead, so I had to walk. The downhill road on the south side leads directly to Badachu, and the side hill leads to Fahai Temple. The straight mountain road can reach the interior of Xishan Forest Park and Xiangshan. These places can be entered at will, and no entrance fee is charged. The best thing is that you don’t have to climb up. The road is basically flat. You can walk about 2 kilometers to reach the best environment in the park: Guixiaoshi. When the weather is good here, you can see the CCTV Silver Station site 30 kilometers away. Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain are even more so. It is a great place for shooting. On the way, you can also overlook the entire Shijingshan District, the Yongding River in the south, and the Garden Expo Park. There are few people here. Looking at the Beijing city under the mountain and thinking about the hustle and bustle of the downtown, it is unusually quiet here. It is definitely the same world with two different moods. Due to time and distance, I didn't go down the mountain. If I have time, I will definitely go to explore it. It is worth mentioning that Heichen Road will pass by Shuangquan Temple and Nanmachang Dam. The environment is also very quiet and very good. If you have enough time, you can go and see them together. When I went back to Cishan Temple, it happened to be a thunderstorm. The sun was shining just now, and it was immediately covered with clouds. I sighed at the unpredictable changes in the mountains. Anyway, this is a good place! !

Tickets are sold at the main entrance of Xishan Forest Park (10 RMB), but there is no fence, and you can walk into the park from any road in Xishan without tickets. This is different from Xiangshan Park, where most of Xiangshan Park is fenced off, and the only place that is free is probably the Xiangshan firebreak.

The Xiangshan Firebreak and the trails on the West Hill are already mature trails in the suburbs of Beijing. The roads have long been developed and are flat and wide, unlike ordinary mountain roads. They are well connected and more like urban trails than mountain trails. As a result, many people come here to walk, not only the elderly who exercise, but also many young people in Beijing who love walking. On weekends, you can spend half a day walking along the fitness trail. The road is not difficult to walk, but it is definitely not as easy as walking on flat ground. The amount of exercise is just right. The important thing is that the scenery here is beautiful and the trees are lush. It is a natural oxygen bar.

Let's talk about Xishan. Xishan is a sand mountain without any rocks. The whole mountain looks like a mound of earth. You can't see any strange rocks or steep stones on Xishan. So the highlight of Xishan is the mountain scenery that changes with the four seasons, which seems to be visible at a glance but stretches endlessly.

Xishan Forest Park, in addition to the various trails, is probably also famous for the waterfalls and fountains in the park. Beijing has more mountains than water, and although this scenery is not big, it has a significant effect. After watching the mountains for several hours, seeing the water made me feel very happy.

The transportation here in Xishan is actually very convenient, and it is not far from the Fifth Ring Road. The trails are mature and the facilities are complete. I highly recommend everyone to take a walk.

Xishan National Forest Park is on the way to Xiangshan Park. Many cars can get there. I took the 630 bus, which is quite convenient. You need to walk a short distance to enter the scenic area after getting off the bus. Beijing Scenic Annual Pass can be used. At the foot of the mountain is a large green belt and pool. Many parents bring their children to play here. It is quite suitable for family weekend leisure. A few hundred meters further up, there is a forest knowledge popularization area with many explanation signs, which is very suitable for popularizing knowledge for children. Squirrels can be seen from time to time in this area, which is very fun. There are many roads further up that can circle up the mountain. Some roads are under maintenance and are not easy to walk. Some places have a large slope, so you have to be careful when going up and down the mountain. If you plan to go up and down the mountain completely, you have to estimate the time and load. It is best to bring more water and prepare some dry food. Three hours back and forth is barely enough. There are many tree species on the mountain, and the coverage is also very good. It is perfect to climb the mountain, breathe fresh air and feel nature. The forest rangers do a great job.

The mountain is not too high, and there are wild pear and apricot blossoms along the way when you go there in spring.

I don’t know what options everyone has for photographing the sunrise over Beijing. I think this place is pretty good. If you have a car, you can drive directly to the top of the mountain without having to climb, which is very labor-saving!

The highest peak in the forest park is not very high, less than 700 meters, but the road is not only very undulating, but also very steep. I went there by bike, and it was very difficult.

The waterfall at the entrance is so attractive that you can't stop taking photos. Going up the mountain road, you will be delighted by the colorful leaves on both sides. The higher you climb, the fewer people there are, and the air becomes fresher. You will be away from the world and into the embrace of the mountains, and you will feel completely relaxed.

The artificial waterfall at the entrance is matched with the stream, which is unique and beautiful. Many tourists take photos here. As we go up the mountain road, there are fewer and fewer people, the environment is getting quieter, the air is getting fresher, the climbing is getting more exciting, and the mood is getting more relaxed.

The country park was newly opened in 2011, but it is not free, and the entrance fee is 10 yuan. It is located at the northwest corner of the West Fifth Ring Road and the west end of Minzhuang Road. On Saturdays, Sundays or holidays, a large artificial waterfall will be opened. The stream water coming down from the top of the mountain forms a spectacular waterfall at the entrance of the park, but it cannot be seen on weekdays.
