The China Geological Museum is a national first-class museum founded in 1916. It is world-renowned for its long history, large collection, high rate of treasures, exquisite displays and fruitful scientific research results.

The museum focuses on professional science and has five basic exhibition halls and two temporary exhibition halls, including the Earth Hall, Gem Hall, Mineral and Rock Hall, Prehistoric Biology Hall, and Care and Encouragement Hall.

The first floor is the Earth Hall. It mainly introduces the geological processes that occur on the earth, such as plate movement, volcanoes, earthquakes, etc. The introduction is very detailed and easy to understand. You can also see a huge globe when you enter the exhibition hall.

The second floor is the Gem Hall and the Mineral Rock Hall.

The Gem Hall displays a variety of rare gemstones, jade materials and finished products, which are very beautiful. There are also popular science contents such as gemstone identification, recognition, processing and culture.

In the Mineral and Rock Hall, you can get further exposure to the various ores in nature and learn about their causes, production, hardness, color, etc. I stayed in these two exhibition halls for more than an hour, which really opened my eyes and taught me a lot.

The third floor is the Prehistoric Biology Hall. This hall is divided into eight units to introduce the process of the occurrence, evolution and extinction of life on Earth. The hall also displays models of ichthyosaurs, Chinese Angelosaurs, pterosaur fossils, etc. After reading these, I believe you will have a clearer understanding and knowledge of life.

Vast earth treasures and rich mineral resources

The century-long development of the China Geological Museum is an important part of the history of China's geological cause. Wandering in this first public natural science museum founded by the Chinese, people can feel the efforts and achievements of generations of geologists in improving academic research, spreading knowledge, serving the public, and supporting the cause of land and resources, and appreciate the brilliant reflection of the geological science spirit on history and reality.

The museum has a collection of more than 200,000 geological specimens, covering all areas of geology, including giant Shandong dragon, Chinese dragon bird and other dinosaur fossils, Peking Man, Yuanmou Man, Upper Cave Man and other ancient human fossils, as well as scientific and ornamental fish, birds, insects and other precious prehistoric fossils; the world's largest "crystal king", exquisite azurite, cinnabar, realgar, orpiment, scheelite, stibnite, etc., gemstones and jade national treasures.

The location is easy to find, right next to the subway station, and the various gems on the fourth floor are eye-opening.

A century-old museum, it is also a magical and breathtaking museum. It is more suitable for bringing children to receive natural science education. It is more convenient to take the subway or bus, but there are also plenty of parking spaces at the door.

By Light Chaser |

Next to the subway West Fourth Exit, you can see it as soon as you look up. The display cabinets on the first to third floors are a bit old, and the exhibits are all the best. The display cabinets on the fourth and fifth floors are very new. The collection is really rich and a feast for the eyes

There are four floors above ground. Children are free and adults are 15 yuan, and only cash is accepted. It is a good place to take children to see and popularize science, but there is no parking space, all are internal parking lots. There are various rocks inside, but the display shelves are old and the light is average.

(Free admission for students, duration: 1 hour): The entrance and exit of the Geological Museum are in one place. It is not big. I was confused as soon as I entered the door. What is this? Is it the Children's Palace? Because the first floor is relatively small and full of geological models, it seems to be a pavilion of the Children's Palace. But it is different when you go upstairs. Here, you can see rocks (gems), fossils, etc. The exhibits are very rich. Each display stand has a mechanism for interacting with the audience. You can learn some knowledge here, such as learning to identify real and fake crystal balls, etc. There are many kinds of gems/jade/fossils on display here. It would be great if there was an expert to introduce them in detail. The exhibits here are absolutely rich. There are four floors in total. It will definitely take more than an hour to visit the exhibition. I can give it a four-point score together with the National Museum.

It is very convenient to get there from Exit D of Xisi Subway Station. As a special museum, there are 4 floors of exhibition halls, from geological specimens to mineral specimens and fossil specimens. The exhibits are quite rich, especially the gem exhibition hall, which looks dazzling.

A very professional geological museum. You can learn a lot of professional geological knowledge by visiting it, and you can also see many precious geological specimens. It is very beautiful and fresh in my memory. The museum ticket is 20 yuan, 10 yuan for students, and it takes about 1 hour to visit.

In Xisi, Beijing, friends who like to watch Happy Twist drama can watch it anytime. It introduces the origin of the universe and the formation of the earth.

Announcement: The ticket price is discounted, 15 yuan for adults, free for students, seniors over 60 years old, and military personnel. However, I have already bought the Jinxiu Jiangshan annual pass. Although it is the third stop of the annual pass, the original intention of buying the annual pass was to come here to see the gems.

The first floor feels like returning to geography class.

Since I don’t know much about minerals, I just appreciate them and fully experience the wonders of nature.

There is not much text introduction in the museum, and I didn't see any human explanation or audio.

If you are short on time, you can go directly to the natural treasures on the fourth floor, where you can find almost all the items on display downstairs. If you are interested in geological movements and rocks, you can take your time to look at them, as there are many specimens.

The picture is upside down again. 😅

Convenient transportation! There are several halls inside, and the knowledge is very extensive!

It is just outside the D exit of Xisi subway station, which is very convenient. As a special museum, there are 4 floors of exhibition halls, from geological specimens to mineral specimens and fossil specimens. The exhibits are quite rich, especially the gem exhibition hall, which looks dazzling. It's a pity that the corresponding text description is a bit thin, and the popular science is a bit insufficient for the general public.

The China Geological Museum was founded in 1916. In the process of its origin and development in parallel with China's modern science, it has accumulated rich natural essence and cultural relics. It is the best museum of its kind in Asia with its systematic collection, fruitful results and exquisite displays, and enjoys a high reputation worldwide. Based on its rich collection, the museum has established a complete set of basic displays, including four parts: the Earth Hall, the Mineral Rock Hall, the Gem and Jade Hall, and the Prehistoric Biology Hall, covering a total area of 2,500 square meters, and an additional temporary exhibition area of 1,500 square meters.

There are mostly stones and dinosaur fossils. These are the geography knowledge we learned in high school. It’s really different to see them. The crystal cave is very beautiful.

The ticket price was 30 yuan. It was a good deal when I went there. Haha. Exit at West 4 Exit D.

The China Geological Museum is just opposite the Guangji Temple, just across the road.

The Geological Museum of China is located at No. 15 Yangrou Hutong, Xicheng District, Beijing. Founded in 1916, it is the earliest national geological museum in China and the largest in Asia. It has a long-standing reputation in the museum circles at home and abroad. The most precious treasure of the museum is a 3-ton crystal king.

By Rain dampens the dust |

It seems that this is not a very famous museum, but there are many wonderful exhibits in it. Those who like geology and gems can go and see it. Take the subway line 4 and get off at Xisi Station. The ticket is 30 yuan. The whole museum has four floors and 7 exhibition halls. The jade exhibition hall and the earth exhibition hall are more exciting, and the paleontology hall is also good, but there are too many museums with dinosaur fossils in Beijing. The jade exhibition hall has so many beautiful jade raw stones. There is also a treasure of the town hidden at the door, the largest crystal stone in the country. It is called Crystal King.

Many old educated youth brought their children to visit. Here, they recalled their youth and let the next generation feel the spirit of educated youth. They suffered hardships and hardships, which made us stronger and no difficulties could defeat us. This place has become a base for patriotism education. The era of educated youth has gradually left us, and those turbulent years have become history. However, the spirit of educated youth who were not afraid of hardships, worked hard for development, were determined to forge ahead, and benefited the masses will surely become a positive social energy to inspire contemporary young people.

The first floor displays the structure layout of the earth's spheres, the formation of various minerals, geological conditions, etc. It not only provides introductions but also provides hands-on operations.

The second floor displays tens of thousands of fine minerals, rocks, and gemstones. Some of the minerals have strange shapes, and some have attractive colors. My favorite place to visit is the Gem Hall, which is full of treasures!

The third floor mainly displays fossils, as well as some propaganda focusing on the living environment and quality of life of human beings; it allows the audience to easily step into the wonderful geological space through witnessing, operating and experiencing in person in a rich scientific atmosphere. It is a good place to learn knowledge.
