My main destination this time is Soong Ching Ling's Former Residence, but it is closed!

This used to be the Prince Chun's Palace. The location of the palace was really good back then. As soon as you go out, you will face the beautiful Shichahai Lake.

The Prince Chun's Mansion used to have a relatively small flow of visitors. The first floor of the main house is the reception room, and the second floor is the bedroom, kitchen and study. The other rooms are locked and cannot be visited, and no photos can be taken in the rooms. There are two crabapple trees in the yard behind the main house. They are the original ancient trees planted when the Prince Chun's Mansion was built, and they are still bearing fruit. There are guides in the life exhibition hall. The whole former residence is not big, and it takes about an hour to visit it. It is quite good.

I was born and raised in Beijing and didn't visit until I was in my twenties. I had never even heard of it before. I thought it would be boring, but it exceeded my expectations. The scenery is beautiful, there are exhibitions, gardens, and a sense of history. I especially like the gardens, streams, and West Lake stones. I am not very interested in the Song sisters, but because it is the garden of Grand Secretary Mingzhu, I seem to be able to feel the artistic conception of the ancients drinking tea and reciting poems

It is also a place I have been to many times. There are relatively few people and it is quite quiet inside. It doesn't take long to walk around.

Soong Ching Ling is the lone goose of the Soong family. All the grievances and entanglements between them are available on the Internet. Everyone has their own opinion.

I thought it was a less popular attraction with few tourists, but I didn't expect it to be so crowded.

I made a mistake again. The store was closed on Monday and I went there but found nothing. I have to go next time.

This is my first time to visit Soong Ching Ling's former residence. Every October a flower art festival is held here, and many florists are invited to create gardening works. I happened to receive two tickets from the official account, so I came here specially to take a look.

Although there are many beautiful gardening works, most of them are superficial, just a kind of installation, put together with various ornaments and trendy elements, and there is not much natural beauty. A few works can combine flowers and former residences, which complement each other and create a sense of interest.

The gardens and houses of the former residence are actually worth seeing, but it was the flower planting festival on October 1st, and the courtyard was packed with people, so I couldn't enjoy the quiet beauty of the courtyard. Song Qingling lived here in her later years. In order to protect the exhibits in the house, they were covered with glass. I was a little disappointed. I wanted to see the Strauss upright piano her brother gave her, but I could only take a glimpse of its silhouette through the glass.

Comrade Song Qingling's life was great and simple

Deep in the north of Houhai Lake, behind the tall walls are the former Nalan Mingzhu Mansion Garden, Heshen's Villa, Prince Chun's Mansion, Regent Mansion Garden, and Song Qingling's Residence. The history of admiring crabapples in Song Qingling's former residence is long. There are two crabapples in the garden that bloom around April 10 every year. When the flowers bloom, the flowers are more beautiful than snow, and the clouds are steaming, which is a great sight in Beijing. Song Qingling also used the fruits of these two crabapples to make jam.

Looking for spring in the crabapple garden, the sun shines on the red flowers and the whole garden is filled with fragrance.

The former residence of Song Qingling was originally the garden of Prince Chun's Mansion, where the great talent Nalan Rongruo, who "remembered his life in a heartbreaking voice", once lived! In the former residence of Song Qingling, there is a place where Nalan's poems and comments by later generations are erected. Among them, Wang Guowei's comments on Nalan impressed me deeply. In addition to the original garden view of Prince Chun's Mansion, there is a large exhibition hall in the former residence, which displays Song Qingling's extraordinary life. There are also gifts from Stalin to Song Qingling, which are very heroic and elegant. The small garden scene is still a small bridge with flowing water, a long corridor of a courtyard, and old trees of a rockery. The older I get, the more I feel that the life of a quadrangle is the real life, down-to-earth; the high-rise elevator room is too boring and stiff, without any beauty, no matter how gorgeous you are! The former residence displays Song Qingling's living room, bedroom, study, and small kitchen, but no photos are allowed. I don’t know how many times bigger Soong Ching Ling’s former residence is than the Imperial Garden.

A very clean and quiet place to visit. Worth a visit.

The scenic spot is located in Houhai Park. I just added this point when I was making the travel guide, but it was unexpectedly comfortable.

This is a garden courtyard that combines Chinese and Western styles and was renovated by Premier Zhou Enlai for Ms. Soong Ching Ling. The building and courtyard are spacious and open. During the flowering season, the cherry blossoms, peach blossoms and crabapples in the courtyard are in full bloom, adding vitality to this solemn building.

The Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling (ticket: 20 yuan/person) is located on the northern edge of Houhai Lake, close to Shichahai Lake (north side). It can be reached by walking north along the east bank of Shichahai Lake (Yinding Bridge).



Bus routes:

Take bus No. 1 or 5 (Caihuying Bridge - Beitucheng Bus Station) and get off at Guozishi Station. Cross the road and walk along Gulou West Street. When you see Houhai Alley, follow the sign to the end (Houhai). On the left is the former residence of Soong Ching Ling.

2. Take Route 635 (Kangjiagou - Erlizhuang) and get off at Deshengmen South Station. Cross the road and walk back. When you see Houhai Avenue, follow the same route as above.

Take bus No. 5, 27, 44, 55, 83, 206, 210, 305, 315, 380, 409, 625, 872, 877, 880, 882, 884, 885, 888, 909, 919 or Special Bus No. 12, get off at Deshengmen Station and go east along the north bank of Houhai. Take bus No. 5 or 210, get off at Guozishi Station and go south along Houhai Alley. Or take Metro Line 2, get off at Jishuitan Station, Exit B, go east along Xihai or Houhai North Bank for about 10 minutes.

If I could start all over again, I would still live the same life.

It's true that the fragrance of April is over, so those who haven't been there yet must hurry up. The flowers in a small area are still beautiful. The last picture is a real scene. There are many people. It's past the flowering period. It's the courtyard of a two-story villa. The ticket price is 20 yuan.

Soong Ching Ling's former residence is located in the north of Shichahai.

When Soong Ching-ling grew up, her main residences were Sun Yat-sen's former residence on Sinan Road in Shanghai and Shichahai Lake in Beijing. Walking along Houhai, I saw it and went in. The whole place is very simple. It is similar to the two-story kindergarten in my home, a little shady, with flowers and trees. The decoration is simple but clean.
