Seven of us went up to Zhenbei Tower first. When we discussed whether to continue, five of us quit. Later, my brother and I continued to move forward. Since we didn't have breakfast that day and we were not professional outdoor athletes, we felt a little tired. Unfortunately, something urgent happened in the afternoon and we had to go down as soon as we reached the foot of the ladder. This was a happy and regretful trip~

I started from Mutianyu at 8:30 in the morning and walked through Tianti, Jiankou, Yingfeidaoyang, Beijingjie and walked west until 6:30 in the afternoon. The only drawback was that there was not enough water.

Located in Badaohe Township, Huairou District, this place is famous for its steep and difficult climbing, especially the Beijing Jiejue. It can be said that this is the most dangerous section of the Great Wall in Beijing. People who are afraid of heights should not think about climbing the city there. However, this is not a tourist attraction.

It is indeed a very nice place. If you want to climb the Great Wall, it would be a pity if you don't reach Jiankou.

I rented a car from the airport at 8am and arrived at almost 11am. I hiked from Xizhazi to Beijingjie and then went down the mountain to return. The whole hike was nearly 10km and took five hours. It was cool, exciting and surprising. It was too hot. I drank four bottles of water and didn't feel hot. I still need to do some homework before going. Those who are timid and have poor physical fitness should be cautious. I plan to travel from Jiuyanlou to Mutianyu in autumn.

Undeveloped, suitable for adventurers, with inconvenient transportation and no service facilities, but the scenery is worth the effort. Not suitable for family travel, not suitable for the elderly and children, it is recommended not to go alone, and make a good strategy before traveling.

If you are not a professional outdoorsman, I personally think climbing Jiankou is still very dangerous. I have been scared since I came back. The Great Wall has been in disrepair for a long time, many bricks are loose, and there are no guardrails nearby. Several places are on the edge of the cliff. Due to the lack of development, even the entrance to the Great Wall cannot be easily found. In fact, it is just an ordinary path, so inconspicuous that you can miss it if you are not careful. There is almost no regular road on the mountain, and there are many forks. We also followed the red cloth tied on the branches by people who play outdoors as a guide, but we also went to the wrong road and had to go back and go another direction. This road is almost all gravel and very slippery. I was walking up and worried about what to do when I go down the mountain. You can't see the Great Wall at first sight when you get here. It takes a long time to climb to get there because there are almost no people on the road. After going the wrong direction several times and being afraid of getting lost, we almost gave up when we met a few people who told us that it was easier to walk here. We thought we couldn't come here without seeing the Great Wall, so we gritted our teeth and walked to the road they said. It was said to be easier to walk, but it wasn't at all. There were steeper slopes and more gravel here. If you didn't pay attention, the stones under your feet would slide down and you would have to avoid them quickly. When you were about to reach the Great Wall, there was a ladder built by a local with wood, and there was a cable on it. If you didn't have this, don't even think about climbing up. You can see the Great Wall after climbing the ladder. There was no repair here at all, and the broken bricks were scattered there. We rested there for a while and looked out from a distance. We didn't have the physical strength and energy to move forward at all. It took a long time to climb the mountain, and it would be more difficult to go down the mountain, so it would take more time. We decided to return the same way.

I was going to climb Jiankou, but I took the wrong entrance and entered from Xiangshui Lake Scenic Area. It was really overgrown with weeds. The power of nature and humans is great. I took the wild road down the mountain from the Cliff Carving Scenic Area. The whole journey took about 8 hours.

I took my child to climb Jiankou on May Day. Although I read the guide before departure, I still underestimated its difficulty, especially with my 8-year-old child, which undoubtedly increased the difficulty. I was still filming Douyin and showing off, but I was dumbfounded when I arrived in Beijing... It’s true that hikers all over the world are one family. Fortunately, with the help of hikers, I completed 2 of the three more thrilling places. There was a detour in the Flying Eagle Upside-Down section because of the height of the child. Our 8-year-old child never said he was tired or scared from beginning to end. It received unanimous praise from hikers. After coming back, I still feel scared because it is really dangerous. Some sections are completely wild rock climbing without any protective measures. It is a good exercise for people's willpower. I really have to praise my 8-year-old child, great!

The scenery was as great as expected. The difficulty was not as exaggerated as the legend said. Just be careful, especially when the eagle was flying. It was really tiring. Due to the weather, there were not many people that day. I met no more than 10 people. It was quite refreshing to climb up the empty battlements and shout a few times. There were a lot of mineral water bottles along the way. Today's hikers are really bad.

I won't say much about other things, the hikers have already told me everything. What I must say is that I almost died this time! It was near the Shrinking Neck Building between Little Brada and the North Building! Go from Little Brada to the North Building, there is a stone door exit below the ladder, remember not to go down! The section of the remaining Great Wall from Jiuyan Tower to Xidaqiang is very spectacular. Except for the dangerous cliff, the other sections are okay. However, it is said that there is a detour around the cliff, so it is recommended to take a detour.

I have been to many parts of the Great Wall, but only Jiankou can be called a climb! You have to use your hands and feet to climb it. Many places have been repaired and are not as dangerous as before, but the charm of Eagle Flying Upside Down, Ladder to Heaven and Thirty-Eight Steps is still there. You can still go there before it snows.

It is recommended to climb the West Wall from the old water hole and walk south to Beijing Knot. It is easier to climb from west to east. From the north building down the Great Wall to Nanjili, the whole journey is 9 kilometers, including the rest time for taking photos and eating, and it takes seven hours to complete.

Clothing: quick-drying clothes and pants (wear-resistant), a 30L light hiking bag, a hat, sunglasses, full-finger gloves, hiking socks, hiking shoes, a magic towel (optional), a skin suit, and knee pads.

Note: 1. The weather is hot in June and July. Even if you don’t wear skin-protecting clothes, you should wear long-sleeved quick-drying clothes to prevent sunburn.

2. The temperature rises at 10 o'clock in the afternoon, so bring a pair of full-finger gloves to prevent your hands from getting burned by the stones.

3. It is recommended to print out paper maps and turn off electronic devices in case of thunderstorms.

4. We got SIM cards from China Unicom and China Mobile respectively, but there was no internet since we entered the village, so we could only make phone calls. The inn has WiFi, which is great.

5. Going downhill is particularly wear-intensive on the knees, so it is recommended to wear knee pads to protect them.

6. The issue of trekking poles is controversial among many people. Personally, I think trekking poles have saved me a lot of trouble. I suggest carrying a single pole. Even if you don’t want to use it on the Great Wall, you will always have to use it on the mountain roads, and you don’t have to climb from beginning to end. The trekking pole plays its role most of the time.

7. There are many thunderstorms in mountainous areas during the rainy season. Please pay attention to any metal objects on your body before climbing. Remember!



The mountain road from the village to Jiuyan Tower is very long, about 2.5 hours, but you will regret it if you don't go to the highest Jiuyan Tower. The standard room costs 120 yuan each and has a large bed and a small bed. You can take a shower but you need to bring your own toiletries. The villagers are very nice. For the two of us, one night's accommodation, one breakfast, one dinner and some supplies cost a total of 270 yuan.

Maybe no one knows what I have been through and what I have felt. Maybe I seem to have ignored the worries from my family and friends. There have been many times when I wanted to back down and turn back, but in the end I still persevered. I don’t have great courage or the ability to fly, but we have a heart that dares to try. I believe that this will help us go further, just like the old man who has been walking with me over mountains and rivers for more than 20 years. He is not a world champion, but he is the best.

There are many peach trees growing on the Great Wall, and pink buds can already be seen on the branches. Xiao Huang said that in half a month, this place should be a sea of ​​colorful flowers and spring scenery.

If you want to talk about the Great Wall, you have to mention Jiankou. The original appearance is still there. You really can't experience the steepness and beauty until you go there.
