When you go there, whether you drive or take the subway, remember to come up and see the exterior of this building. It is in the shape of a big loaf of bread, surrounded by water, very spectacular and very design-oriented. You can go in to watch the performance, the prices vary. You can also just visit. There is a visiting ticket, which seems to be 30 yuan. The security check at the entrance is very strict, not to mention the prohibited items, such as lighters, controlled knives, etc., all are not allowed. Even drinking water is not allowed. There is a free bag storage area at the security check. Drinks brought by yourself are not allowed to be stored, so don't bring anything to drink when you go. Bring your ID card.
The first floor is usually occupied by exhibitions such as paintings. The windows on the second floor are a great place to take photos. There is water outside and a glass curtain wall inside, which is very nice.
If you go, I still recommend watching a performance. The feeling of being there is different. Even the folk songs that people rarely use sound particularly melodious in that atmosphere.

I hope everyone can learn from my lesson. I originally wanted to follow the large group of people, but most people were strolling around the Grand Theater. So I followed them for half an hour and finally arrived at the west gate, but the security guard said that this gate could not be entered. I felt like I was participating in a marathon and was very happy.
Don't be like me if you are not familiar with the road. An inexplicable self-confidence prompted me to walk for half an hour without even thinking of asking anyone. The security check was very strict. You were not allowed to bring in water, food, cameras or photographic equipment. Although it was the second row, the view was satisfactory and you could see everything.
I thought it would be over in two hours, but there was a fifteen-minute intermission at the one and a half hour mark which made me feel that the ticket was really worth it. It ended around ten o'clock, a full three hours. I really like drama because it tests the actors' skills. First of all, there can't be any pauses in the lines because there are no NGs. There is no chance to take a break and start over, so you have to do it in one go. Secondly, it's about emotions. You can carry your emotions with you and put your whole feelings into the plot. I deeply feel the actors' skills and how difficult it is. I'm grateful for this experience and their performance, which makes everyone have their own Hamlet in their hearts.

It's a great place. It's perfect to visit the Grand Theater and listen to or watch a performance! It happened to be a public welfare weekend folk music concert on Sunday morning. The 90-minute concert was really wonderful. I am not very interested in Western orchestral music, but folk music is completely different. The ancient rhyme is long and the artistic conception is far-reaching. Especially the performance of the erhu and cello solo made the audience couldn't help but applaud at the end!

The exterior of the National Grand Theatre looks like an egg on the water. We arrived at dusk, when the sun was setting over the mountains. There is a western restaurant here, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner. We can also take a leisurely tour of the interior of the Grand Theatre, which can only be visited during performances. When we walked out of the theatre, the front door was decorated with fireworks. The outer shell was lit up, with blue, red, purple and grey lights lit up in turn, and the reflections were beautiful.

It was probably the first time I went to the Bird's Egg in 2009. There was a lot of criticism at the time. Now it seems that there are too few buildings in Beijing that break with tradition. The most visited hall is the concert hall. It is said that there is also an art gallery on the fifth floor. See you later.

By GaGaGaGa |

When I went to Beijing for a trip, I bought tickets for my parents to a small theater performance. My mother came back saying she was very satisfied and that it fulfilled her dream of watching a performance in Beijing.
The Grand Theater has a passage leading to the subway station, so transportation is very convenient.

Stunning! Especially at night, there is a bright moon on the high dome, the wide water reflects the sparkling waves, and swans play. And this huge dome building is sleeping quietly by the water, with music rising and falling inside and quiet as wine outside.

By Chu Yunfei QQ |

The huge egg is located on the west side of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. After water was poured into the outside of the egg-shaped building, it became what people call a boiled egg! The interior space is huge, and one cannot help but admire the designer's imagination. There is a large performance theater, a beautiful concert hall, a small theater, and many functional rooms. I went in to watch performances and participate in various activities several times, but I never figured out the different functions of the rooms inside. However, as a symbol of the new Beijing, it really lives up to its function.

By zhm_jinan |

I just came to watch it at night. If I have time and opportunity, I should still come to see the show.

By Mugemanduo|

The exterior design is very elegant but simple. The interior is very beautiful, but all the photos I took are lost.

I watched a performance at the National Grand Theater once and had a good experience. The equipment was relatively new and the sound was very comfortable.

By Junnuo Xingbiguo|

I took a walk outside and it was sunset, the effect was very much like the one in "The Wandering Earth".

By UNCLE |

Not only do you want to watch it from outside, you also want to go inside to watch the show

By Zhong Yu|

The appearance of the National Grand Theater is very distinctive. Standing on the underground floor, there is flowing water above your head. If you are lucky, you can listen to a concert or a drama, which is very exciting.

First time here, I listened to a piano solo. National ones are the best. 🤩

By Xu Xiang’s perspective |

There are often large-scale performances here.

Yuaner said the night view of the National Grand Theatre was beautiful, but she couldn't make it in time, so she could only come during the day. Patrolling police could be seen everywhere.
When I arrived at the entrance of the Grand Theater and looked at it from a certain angle, I realized that the Grand Theater was really nice. The reflection at night should be spectacular.

By Clever Inuyasha |

The National Grand Theatre is a building you must see even if you don't go inside to visit or watch a performance. It looks like a spaceship or the half salted egg in Ultraman. It has a sci-fi shape and a beautiful night view. The lights keep changing colors.

By lininininin |

The decoration of the National Grand Theatre is very high-end, and there are many types of dramas that are updated quickly. It is a great place to cultivate your sentiments when you have nothing to do.

By fish |

The big duck eggs look pretty nice in person.
Picture 1 is the most satisfying photo of that trip to Beijing - the Great Hall of the People and the National Grand Theater at sunset.
Cameras are not allowed in the National Grand Theater and must be deposited. Fortunately, mobile phones can also be used for taking photos. Because I arrived late and the performance was about to start, I only took a few photos. The interior of the National Grand Theater is magnificent. Even if you don't come to watch the performance, it is worth buying a ticket to visit. There are also many exhibitions in the theater, but unfortunately I didn't have time to see them this time.
The performance inside was wonderful and it was a satisfying day.

The National Grand Theatre is the most prestigious performance venue in Beijing and the highest temple of performing arts in China.

By Gong Xiaochu|

I have two regrets about the National Grand Theater. One is that I didn’t take a photo of the “dome” with reflections on the water, and the other is that I didn’t watch a performance inside. There is still a technical threshold to take photos of the National Grand Theater at night. At least you need to use a tripod to take a long exposure. In order to avoid overexposure inside, you also need to use HDR synthesis, which has a better effect.

By Xlsong |

It exceeded expectations and represents the highest level in our country.

By Ocean |

When I was on a business trip and had some free time, I passed by at night and the night view was very beautiful. . . . .

By 181 |

Looking at the National Grand Theatre from the west gate of the Great Hall of the People, this building that looks like half an egg does look a bit out of place among the red walls and gray tiles of the capital.

By Walking Polar Bear |

The ticket prices at the National Grand Theatre are really reasonable. We bought the lowest price of 50 yuan, but we can be very close to the performers. However, the low price comes at the expense of uneven sound effects.
The performance was divided into an upper and lower part with a 15-minute pause in between. All in all, it was very exciting. At the end, there was constant applause, and the conductor took curtain calls several times before he finally did.

It is said that one day, designer Paul Andrew was on his last flight from France to China before the bidding. During the flight, Andrew was holding a private African seed in his hand, an oval-shaped "SEED" that only grows on the African continent. On the plane, he drew a sketch by hand, and the most primitive seed of the National Grand Theater was born in the air. The birth of art is always incredible and jaw-dropping. I give a thumbs up to the designer.
There are different exhibitions and performances every day. I missed several performances that others had arranged to see because of time constraints. A few days ago, I saw the starry sky exhibition at INTO, which was a charity event, so I went there. The pool of water around the theater made me wonder where to enter, so I walked around before entering. This artificial lake uses a "central liquid cold and heat source environment system" so that it will not freeze due to overcooling in winter and will not grow algae due to overheating in summer. After entering the door, there is an 80-meter-long underwater corridor. The top of the corridor is made of glass ceiling. I originally planned to take pictures of the Grand Theater under the flow of cars, but unfortunately it was around midnight and there were basically no cars on the road. The Grand Theater has a quiet beauty under the night. The Backbone of the Planet Audiovisual Art Exhibition at the National Grand Theater. It took three years for them to go deep into the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau just to chase the most beautiful stars and record the most beautiful original music. They used cameras to record the original appearance of the roof of the world that has not been changed by humans, showing the ups and downs of the wind, the movement of the stars, and the rising and setting of the sun.

By Jessy Gold Knee |

The National Grand Theatre is very stylish and beautiful, and the ticket prices are relatively affordable.

By echo tassel |

You can also come and see the exhibition if you don't want to watch the performance. The ticket is 40 yuan. I used to think that I should be isolated from elegant art, but this encounter is extremely wonderful. "The Backbone of the Planet" has a power that shakes the heart and cleanses the soul. It is suitable for a person to walk slowly and carefully. If you want to rush to see it and check in, you'd better not come. (Emmmm, but it is really a holy place for taking photos and pretending to be cool)

By lvyouyu |

The exterior of the Grand Theater presents different images in the reflections. It looks like a steel egg in the afterglow of the setting sun, and like a transparent egg after dark. The nearby residents are so happy that in the evening, groups of people walk around the egg in circles.

By Red Guard Wuhan |

It is shaped like a "bird egg" and is very large inside, with a theater, concert hall, and a small exhibition hall.
There are just too many scalpers at the door.

By Lai Lai |

The National Grand Theatre has a very high-end design. Some people jokingly call it a "boiled egg". The effect is very good if you take a casual photo. If you want to watch a performance, it is recommended to check the performance information on the official website and make reservations in advance.

Eggs without water. The water has been drained away. . . .

By Wuyang|

Although this building has been criticized since its construction began, a building with such a modern design has somewhat affected the ancient atmosphere of the red walls and yellow glazed tiles, but it finally settled in this ancient color. In fact, this ancient color had already been destroyed in the 1950s, so there is no need to worry about it being destroyed again in the new century. After another half a century, it will naturally become a piece of history like the light yellow granite building to its east, and will be integrated with the development of time. Isn’t there a Chinese-American architect named I.M. Pei who put a glass pyramid on the Louvre Square in France? Obviously, the mix of modern and classical architecture is also a trend. However, the only worry is that the National Grand Theater will not have the same fate as the Charles de Gaulle 2E Terminal and the Dubai Airport Terminal 3. After all, the latter two collapsed buildings were designed by Andrew.
This international theater, which cost more than 2.6 billion yuan, no matter whether the design is reasonable or not, is not just a place to appreciate so-called high art. We hope that this building can bring more contributions to the entire nation and the country than the construction of more than 10,000 Hope Primary Schools. The elegance of a country's culture does not lie in whether it has a modern opera house. The most basic thing is whether it can provide a safe educational environment for its children and whether they can have the minimum cultural education guarantee.

The roast duck and fried tripe at Siji Minfu were so delicious that I missed the sunset. The sunset reflection must be beautiful when it is sunny and cloudy. When I arrived, the citizens who were running and walking had already started. There were some green plants around, so it felt more like a small park. I look forward to watching a performance there one day.

The 9th stop of the 2017 Spring Festival Beijing Free Tour, January 31 (the fourth day of the first lunar month), this attraction is a check-in type. Just looking at the appearance is enough.

The first time I went there, I bought a 30 yuan ticket and walked around. There was nothing but the exhibition hall on the first floor, the food place on the second floor, and a small exhibition hall on the fourth floor. Then I bought a ticket for the evening concert hall and found that if you go there at 18:00, the exhibition hall on the first floor is not closed yet, so you can finish the tour and go to the concert hall at 19:30. So if you want to watch the evening performance in a small theater or concert hall, don’t waste 30 yuan on buying a visiting ticket. It’s a pity that I didn’t see the light show at night. The environment of the concert hall is very good. You are not allowed to take pictures after the performance starts. If you find them, they will directly scan you with infrared 👻

By This word Heng is pronounced heng |

The exterior is very impressive, especially when viewed from a distance under the lights, it is colorful. The donkey rolls I just bought failed to pass the security check, I should have eaten more. After checking the ticket, there is a large theater performance exhibition on the left, with many things, very interesting. Entering a large hall, there are four musicians performing in the hall upstairs, including erhu, guzheng, pipa and flute. The Irish tap dance "Celtic Legends" watched in the opera house was pretty good, the stage design and music were very distinctive, but the stage layout was a bit unsatisfactory.

By Moe |

I went to watch a play in the small theater. The overall distance of the small theater was very close, and the viewing effect was good.
Tips for the National Theatre:
1. No food or drinks can be brought in or stored in bags.
2. The camera needs to be stored in the bag
3. After scanning the ticket, you cannot enter or exit again. The ticket can only be scanned once.

Today I listened to "The Merry Widow" in it. This was my first time listening to an opera. I was very moved.
Whether it was the stage effects, the character performances, the audience reactions or the final actors’ curtain calls, I was very excited.
Every detail is very well done. The actors are very dedicated in their performances and their singing skills are amazing.
If you come to Beijing, if conditions permit, you must come and experience it once.

Beautiful landmark building in Beijing! The night view is the most beautiful! Important attractions: the Northern Underwater Corridor! There are many treasures, sculptures, and paintings inside. There are musicals, Peking operas, comedies, and everything else, from 132 countries around the world. Visit the large concert hall and imagine the sound is so loud. There are countless works from Germany, Austria, France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Russia, and China, and the audience grows every year! I really don't want to leave after visiting once.

The Grand Theatre is really grand, both in appearance and interior. It is a real pleasure to watch a performance in such a theatre. However, the subtitles are too small and cannot be seen clearly in the back row. It would be better if it could be improved.

I watched the PLA Military Band's concert today and it was very shocking. The audio-visual effects and interaction were great. I burst into tears several times. It was great. Although I was not allowed to take photos, I still took one during the break. I must bring my children to experience it.

By Dr_Kisso |

As the economic, cultural and political center of my country, Beijing has a very rich cultural connotation. In the short three hours of playing in the National Grand Theater, I really felt the rich cultural atmosphere of Beijing. The magnificent architectural style, the complete display of relevant information, and the considerate infrastructure, in my opinion, all these things made these short three hours a spiritual cleansing!

By Daya |

The exterior of the National Grand Theater is most beautiful at sunset. At night, the surroundings are pitch black, and it changes colors from blue to green, which feels a bit scary. How can you not go to the National Grand Theater to watch a performance? I love it so much. I have seen it in the Grand Theater, the Small Theater, and the Drama Theater. The lighting, sound effects, and other aspects are all great. If you have time to come earlier, there are many exhibitions on both sides of the Grand Theater, which are worth browsing. The Grand Theater does not allow water and food to be brought in. Don't take chances. I have tried many times and it is very strict. Only electronic devices and coats are allowed in the storage area, and food storage is not allowed. The performance information of the Grand Theater is the most complete on the official website and WeChat public account. There is a small discount for registering as a member.

The National Grand Theatre is very large, and the most famous thing about it is the big silver ball, which is a must-see for taking photos! There are also many cultural activities inside, but tickets are hard to buy~

The National Grand Theater was designed by the French company Aeroport de Paris, with the cooperation of Tsinghua University. The chief designer is the famous French architect Paul Andreu. The central building of the National Grand Theater is a semi-ellipsoidal steel structure shell. The whole shell has a simple and elegant style. Its surface is composed of titanium metal plates and ultra-white transparent glass. The two materials are cleverly spliced to present beautiful curves, creating a visual effect of the stage curtain slowly opening. The outer shell is surrounded by a rippling artificial lake. Its appearance is like a pearl on the water, and it seems like an alien, which is particularly eye-catching in the center of Beijing.

By Longlin Ziyan|

It can only be described as shocking. You must go there at night. Combined with the lights in the pool, the night view is very beautiful and feels like a dream.

By Plasticine 🍉 |

I took Line 5 and Line 1 from Beixinqiao Subway Station to the National Grand Theater. As a country bumpkin, I was very excited to enter the National Grand Theater for the first time. I took pictures here and there, but I could only take pictures of the entrance under the lake. Further inside was the security check and baggage storage area. Cameras and food and drinks were not allowed to be brought in. Cameras could be temporarily stored in the baggage storage area, but food could not be stored. However, if the food was in a bag, the entire bag could be stored... This weird rule is really cool.
Walking along the main passage to the end, you will see the Grand Theater, the Concert Hall on the left (east), and the Drama Theater and Small Theater on the right (west). This scale is quite large. The exterior of the National Grand Theater is in the form of a dome. In fact, curves are everywhere, and the interior is no exception. Everywhere you look, a lot of arcs are used, and the rich coffee-colored ceiling makes the overall building very soft and beautiful. Tips: In addition to the fact that recording and video equipment is not allowed in the National Grand Theater (except mobile phones), after entering the performance venue, all mobile phone signals are blocked and you cannot talk to the outside world. Friends who have something to do can make arrangements outside the venue in advance before entering.

When you walk into the National Grand Theater, the first thing that catches your eye is the transparent glass passage. The sunlight shines through the glass roof and warms you. The music echoes over the opera house. We listen to the music and enjoy the unique architectural style of the theater, feeling excited.

By Simple |

The National Grand Theater is very impressive. It is no exaggeration to call it world-class. In a place like Beijing with such a rich historical and cultural heritage, such a novel and unique building is built to carry on the past and forge ahead. Since its completion and opening in 2007, the National Grand Theater has become the highest hall of China's national performing arts, the largest platform for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and an important base for China's cultural and creative industries. Coming to the National Grand Theater will definitely make you feel the power of culture.

The entrance is at the north gate. There is water above the picture below... The exhibition is not bad. It is full of opera costumes, costumes, and opera models. The most introduced one is "Turandot". The building is very beautiful. The circular one in the picture below is the opera house. Yes, it is the winning ticket I got from the Qing Post Office before. You need to exchange it for this card to enter the ice rink. The deposit is 200, which is refundable. Entrance is 30, and ice sled or skates are 20. I fumbled around and it was easy to slide, but I didn't have much strength in my hands. My arms were sore after sliding. The ice slide was under maintenance. The old man in the skate area brought his own skates and motorcycles. It's amazing. Children can see the athlete in red every day. His hands and feet are cold after sliding.

The central building of the National Grand Theater is a unique shell shape, 46.68 meters high, 32.50 meters deep underground, and more than 600 meters in circumference. The shell surface is cleverly spliced with 18,398 titanium metal plates and more than 1,226 ultra-white glass, creating a visual effect of the stage curtain slowly opening. The shell is surrounded by an artificial lake with an area of 35,500 square meters and a cultural and leisure square composed of large tracts of green plants, which not only beautifies the exterior landscape of the Grand Theater, but also embodies the concept of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. The exterior of the National Grand Theater is a steel structure shell in a semi-ellipsoidal shape. The plane projection of the long axis in the east-west direction is 212.20 meters, the short axis in the north-south direction is 143.64 meters, and the building height is 46.285 meters, which is slightly lower than the Great Hall of the People by 3.32 meters. The deepest part of the foundation reaches -32.5 meters, which is as high as a 10-story building. The shell of the National Grand Theater is made up of more than 18,000 titanium plates, covering an area of more than 30,000 square meters. Among the more than 18,000 titanium plates, only four are exactly the same in shape. The titanium plates have undergone special oxidation treatment, and their surface metallic luster is very textured, and the color does not change for 15 years. The middle part is a gradually opening glass curtain wall, which is cleverly spliced with more than 1,200 pieces of ultra-white glass. The ellipsoidal shell is surrounded by an artificial lake with an area of 35,500 square meters. Various passages and entrances are located under the water. Pedestrians need to enter the performance hall through an 80-meter-long underwater passage. The National Grand Theater has a novel and avant-garde shape and unique conception. It is a combination of tradition and modernity, romance and reality.

The National Grand Theatre under the night sky is very impressive. It is really worthwhile to come to the National Grand Theatre to watch a play. Not to mention that the decoration of the entire National Grand Theatre is great, the most important thing is that I thought that a drama like "Du Fu" would be boring. I didn't expect that the narration, the quality of the actors, the atmosphere created, etc. are all first-class. It is really very immersive. The life of Du Fu is told in the form of a drama. There are poems that have been passed down to this day under each life experience. With the performances of the actors, you can really experience the story behind each poem and the mood of Du Fu when he wrote these poems. At the end of the drama, when the verses such as "I wish I had thousands of mansions to shelter the poor people in the world and make them happy" echoed throughout the theater, I felt regretful or helpless... I was really moved at that moment~ So friends who like dramas can arrange it when they have time. After all, the National Grand Theatre is top-notch from infrastructure to performers, and it is worth a visit~

It's worth a visit, it's very beautiful at night. I walked around the theater but couldn't find the entrance, it turned out to be outside. I almost missed the time.

I can't comment without going in, but I just walked around outside at dusk and it felt like a nice sphere.

This is an iconic building: both as a landmark in Beijing and as a landmark in the Chinese theater world. Very high-level performances are often staged here. Moreover, the organization and concept of the National Grand Theater are world-class. This is well-known in the art circle! ! In short, the National Grand Theater is worth visiting: to see the drama and the architecture.

Frankly speaking, this place is not beautiful at all if you come during the day, but at night, as dusk falls, it will gradually glow. If you really plan to visit it, it is highly recommended to go there at dusk. One trick is to find a not-too-expensive show on the official website in advance, so that you can experience the feeling of watching a show in the Grand Theater and save the money for buying tickets. Haha, I think it is worth it. You can choose to come to the Grand Theater when the sun sets. At this time, the light of the setting sun is projected on the round glass curtain wall and the pool, which is very beautiful. After that, you can enter the theater to appreciate its exquisite and sophisticated interior design and decoration details. However, such an arrangement may not be suitable for summer, because the sunset in summer is relatively late. After watching the sunset and then entering the theater, it is estimated that the souvenir shop will be closed. Please pay attention to it.
