By the fat man who eats and walks around|

I woke up feeling refreshed this morning and am going to inspect the Summer Palace today.
I took the subway again and arrived at the North Palace Gate of the Summer Palace.

The Summer Palace is very large and you cannot explore it all in one morning. You can only visit the important attractions. If you want to have an in-depth tour, you will need a whole day.

Of course, when visiting Beijing, the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall are must-see attractions.

The Summer Palace is a royal garden. It was built on the site of Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain, modeled after the West Lake in Hangzhou, and drew on the design techniques of Jiangnan gardens. It is worthy of being a royal garden, as the garden is so majestic.

When I visited the Forbidden City, I had a question: the Forbidden City always gave me a gloomy and oppressive feeling. It was solemn and dignified enough, but the emperor living in such an environment every day would be very mentally abnormal. When I saw the Summer Palace, I suddenly realized that people have a place to vacation! And more than one!

I think the most beautiful time of the Summer Palace is spring. In mid-March every year, the reeds of the previous year are still swaying in the wind, and the winter jasmine, mountain peach, magnolia, and dry branch plum blossom one after another. The lake water is clear, the willows are sprouting, and water birds are swimming on the lake, welcoming tourists from all directions.
If you go to the Summer Palace early, you can drive if you arrive around 7 o'clock, and there will be parking spaces. If you arrive late, I suggest you take a car.

My friend and I almost finished walking around the Summer Palace. We rented a guide from the North Palace Gate entrance at 11:30 in the morning (it was not really necessary, it was more convenient to use a mobile phone). We went up from the Four Continents to the World of Incense, but we didn’t find the way so we went down the mountain. We went to the Stone Boat and walked around. We went up from the Paiyun Gate to the Buddhist Incense Pavilion and the Baoyun Pavilion, walked down the mountain all the way to the East Gate, then went to the Seventeen-Arch Bridge and the island, turned back and walked along the West Causeway and went out from the North Ruyi Gate. It was a very tiring day, but fortunately the scenery was very good, and the scenery on the lake really looked like West Lake. (It would be strange if the Qing Dynasty didn’t end up like this with such luxury)

The Summer Palace was originally the imperial palace and garden of the Qing Dynasty, also known as the Qingyi Garden. It is built on the Kunming Lake and Wanshou Hill in accordance with the design of Jiangnan gardens. It is the largest and most well-preserved royal garden in my country. It has elegant scenery and many precious cultural relics, and is known as the "Royal Garden Museum".

It was past nine o'clock and there were already a lot of tourists here. I queued up to buy tickets. My parents didn't need tickets, so I bought an adult ticket, which was really cheap.
After checking the ticket and crossing the bridge, I found that the river below was frozen.
You can see too many tourists on the bridge.
Although it was cold, the sky was really blue.
Even with a mask on, my nose was already runny. It was so cold. Traveling to Beijing should have been a happy thing, but I felt so tired at the time. After climbing over the top of the mountain, I walked down the steps and dirt road. The mountain is not high, so we walked down quickly. Kunming Lake was completely frozen. The weather was cold, and the Summer Palace was quite large and windy, so the perceived temperature was really low. We hurriedly left from the East Gate. As a result, when we came out of the East Gate, we were shocked by the people queuing to enter. There were really too many tourists. Fortunately, we arrived early. Later, I learned from the official account that many attractions in Beijing were full today.

As soon as you enter the gate, the first thing that comes into view is Suzhou Street. You need to buy a separate ticket to Suzhou Street. There are shops on both sides of the street, and there is nothing fancy. If you are short of time, you can completely give it up.

It has a bit of the grandeur of the Potala Palace.
The Long Corridor in the Summer Palace is famous for its exquisite architecture, winding paths and rich colorful paintings. It is the longest corridor in my country's ancient buildings and gardens. There are colorful paintings on each beam of the Long Corridor, and the contents of the paintings are mostly landscapes, flowers and birds, and plots from the four famous classical Chinese novels.

After getting off the bus at Beigong Gate, I bought a ticket to enter the park. Considering that it was off-season, and the guide and the experience of friends who had been there did not recommend the combined ticket, I only bought the big ticket to go in. There is a bridge after entering Beigong Gate, and under the bridge is Suzhou Street. It was winter when we went there, so there were few people and it was icy.
After a quick look, we went up the mountain. We took photos while playing. The scenery on the mountain was nice and the historical traces were still there. Behind the mountain was the big lake of the Summer Palace. The sunset was beautiful. Follow the crowd along the lake and walk to the left. You will come to the Seventeen-Arch Bridge.

We booked the tickets for the Summer Palace online, plus the guided tour. We just went to the entrance of the Summer Palace to find the tour guide, who led the group into the park every 15 minutes, which was very convenient. We could also listen to the brief introduction.
The lake in the Summer Palace is also frozen, and there are ice recreational activities available. If you don’t have enough time to go to Beihai Park, you can also visit the Summer Palace and enjoy some ice activities.

By Trembling Little Hands |

The Summer Palace is just one word, big. When we went there, Kunming Lake was frozen, and the leaves on the trees had basically fallen off, which made it less green and lively. There is a wind and rain corridor outside the lake. The murals on it are quite distinctive, and each one is different, with a bit of Western style. In addition, it is recommended to go in the morning. There are really many people going in the afternoon, probably with the attitude of taking pictures of the sunset. It is recommended to leave enough two and a half hours to play. We bought a joint ticket that day and didn’t finish the tour. We went out in more than an hour and a half. The main reason is that walking is tiring, and the courtyards are a bit scattered and difficult to find. It is really comfortable to climb to the top of the Buddhist Incense Pavilion and overlook the entire Summer Palace. It is said that the Summer Palace is four times larger than the Forbidden City. I didn’t believe it at first. In my mind, the Forbidden City is already big enough, and it is impossible to be so much bigger than it. As a result, I really became a Buddha when I went there.

By strolling in the garden |

Get off the subway and arrive at the north gate of the Summer Palace. The ticket price is 20 yuan per person in the off-season, and half price for people over 70 years old. You can also add WeChat to buy tickets online, the ticket price is the same.
There are already a lot of tourists. I wonder what the situation will be like during the peak season. As soon as we entered the gate, private tour guides kept coming up to us to solicit business and give explanations. No park staff interfered.
After watching the documentary "The Summer Palace", I have a deeper understanding of it. Being in this royal garden, which was built with the efforts of the whole country and cost a huge amount of money, is grand in scale, and has a tragic fate, I feel mixed emotions.

There are many bridges in the Summer Palace. In addition to the famous Seventeen-Arch Bridge and Jade Belt Bridge, there are many bridges whose names cannot be called out. Some bridges also have pavilions built on top of the bridges, which are great places to rest and enjoy the view. Sitting on the pavilion in the middle of the bridge, there are beautiful scenery on all sides. In the near distance, a lake is covered with patches of green lotus leaves. Occasionally, a cruise ship breaks into the lotus pond, and only then do you know that there are routes hidden in the lotus leaves. In the distance, large clouds slowly pass through the sky and disappear among the mountains. What's even more wonderful is that at dusk, the ambiguous warm light reduces the pixels of the scenery, making the mountains, rivers, flowers and birds hide their structural details, leaving only a few outlines and lines. This transformation is like a meticulous brushwork painting turned into a splash-ink landscape painting. It is simple, but it has endless beauty.

The Summer Palace is a royal garden from the Qing Dynasty. It is the first of China's classical gardens and covers an area of about 290 hectares. It was listed on the World Heritage List on December 2, 1998. It is modeled after the West Lake in Hangzhou. It is a large-scale landscape garden built by drawing on the design techniques of Jiangnan gardens. It is also the best-preserved royal palace. It is based on Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain. The whole park is set against the backdrop of the peaks of the Western Hills, and the buildings are integrated with the mountain and lake terrain. The whole park is divided into three areas: the political activity area centered on the Renshou Hall; the emperor and empress living area centered on the Yulan Hall and the Leshou Hall; and the scenic tourist area composed of Wanshou Mountain and Kunming Lake. As I understand it, to put it simply, the emperor wanted to travel around the south of the Yangtze River at his doorstep.

Entering the Summer Palace from the West Gate, I walked and took photos along the way. I thought it was because it was a weekday. Apart from the elderly doing morning exercises, there were few tourists. Later, I slowly walked to the East Gate area, and there were more and more tourists. I realized that because the famous attractions of the Summer Palace are almost all concentrated in the north, tourists enter the park from this side. But it’s okay. Before encountering a large number of tourists, I quietly enjoy the autumn colors of the garden in the West Gate area. It’s not convenient to walk too much with the elderly, so I just walked by and hurriedly sightseeed. I walked all the way to the East Gate and passed by Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain mentioned in the elementary school Chinese textbook. 22 years have passed, and I vaguely remember that it was a text that needed to be recited. There are more individual tourists and tour groups in the East Gate area. This area is more lively and the highlights are concentrated. It took more than two hours to walk around and leave the park from the North Palace Gate.

I entered the Summer Palace from the North Palace Gate. The off-season ticket is 20 yuan.
Suzhou Street is at the entrance. I didn't buy a combined ticket, but a ticket for Suzhou Street. Because it was boring to walk alone, I couldn't resist the solicitation of a human tour guide and spent 90 yuan to hire a tour guide. This was also the most painful part of my trip. However, the tour guide told a lot of stories about the Feng Shui and cloisonné of the Summer Palace. Believe it or not, at that moment, she made you feel less lonely, and at least entering this royal garden was not just for taking photos, but also for gaining something in Feng Shui. After the Longevity Hill is the Kunming Lake, which is still super beautiful under the sun.

We bought tickets online directly, which cost 20 RMB. We rented a guide each and listened while we walked around. The Summer Palace is really big and beautiful. I couldn't help but sigh that Empress Dowager Cixi had a great life in her later years. She, the emperor and some concubines were all in the huge Summer Palace. We found a beautiful scenery on the back mountain of Xiquge, which was really beautiful. I don't know what kind of leaves they were, but the yellow and red leaves gave a very autumn feeling, so it attracted many photography enthusiasts to take pictures there.
Since we didn't want to climb the mountain, we didn't go to the Buddhist Scripture Pavilion. Then we passed the Long Corridor. Because it was the weekend, there were so many people, so we tried to avoid the crowd and walked all the way to the 17-Arch Bridge. There were also many people walking there. It was too tiring to cross the 17-Arch Bridge, and the Summer Palace was very large, so we chose to take a boat to the west gate and go out.

If you want to stroll from Kunming Lake all the way south, you can choose the West Gate Station of the Summer Palace on the Beijing Metro West Suburb Line. In addition, just like we chose to take Line 4, exit from Exit D of Beigongmen and walk back to the North Gate of the Summer Palace.
If you are traveling with a tour group, you must enter the Summer Palace from the East Gate.
If you enter from the north gate of the Summer Palace, after crossing the long bridge of the Summer Palace, the first thing you see is the Four Continents.

The Summer Palace is really big, and I still only know a little bit about it even though I took the tour guide with me. I met an old man who volunteered to give a tour in a corner of the Summer Palace, with dozens of pictures and materials. It is said that many tour guides are just talking nonsense about history, but the old man was very generous and circulated the materials he had collected over the years to everyone, and gave an explanation! There are really not many people like him now.

(Book in advance, time: 1 hour): Due to time constraints, I only went to the Summer Palace, but I suggest going to the Old Summer Palace first and then the Summer Palace, arranging it in the morning. In the Summer Palace, you can take a boat to find food near the Beijing Expo, and arrange the sightseeing spots near Xizhimen in the afternoon. It's not fun to go around alone, so I asked a tour guide to lead me, explain, and take photos for me. The buildings in the Summer Palace are all modeled after famous buildings in various parts of China, so it's quite interesting to visit it as a park.

The Summer Palace is located at No. 19, Xinjian Gongmen Road, Haidian District, northwest of Beijing. Peak season: April 1 to October 31, the main gate is open from 6:30 to 18:00. The garden in the garden is open from 8:30 to 17:00, and the quiet time is 20:00. Summer Palace tickets: 30 yuan/ticket (peak season), 20 yuan/ticket (off-season); Summer Palace combined ticket: 60 yuan/ticket (peak season) 50 yuan/ticket (off-season). Transportation route: Take Metro Line 4 to reach the Summer Palace, and take Bus No. 332, Bus No. 508, Bus No. 330, Bus No. 331 to reach the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace is the largest and best-preserved imperial garden in China, and one of the four famous gardens in China (the other three are Chengde Mountain Resort, Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden, and Suzhou Lingering Garden). The Summer Palace has a beautiful environment. Behind it is the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, which is located on Kunming Lake, between the East Dike and the South Lake Island. It is used to connect the dike island and is the largest stone bridge in the garden. The stone bridge is 8 meters wide and 150 meters long, consisting of 17 bridge holes. There are more than 500 stone lions of different sizes and shapes carved on the railings on both sides of the stone bridge. After passing the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, walk to the north pier of the island facing the Tower of Buddhist Incense, and take the Empress Dowager Cixi's Phoenix Boat to the Tower of Buddhist Incense.

The Summer Palace was built by Emperor Qianlong to honor his mother. In order to avoid being accused of extravagance, he built it in the name of training the navy. In the end, the actual beneficiary was still Cixi.

There is a feudal superstitious saying about the "Stone of Losing Family" that Emperor Qianlong gave to his mother. It is said that the Qing Dynasty was doomed from the moment this stone was placed here.
The highest point of the Summer Palace is used to hang lanterns for lighting. In addition to lighting, it also tells everyone that Cixi is awake! Everyone can come and greet her!

Summer Palace, 30 yuan + 10 yuan for Buddhist Incense Pavilion

Beigongmen Subway Station
Tickets for the Summer Palace must be purchased online through the WeChat public account "Travel the Park". There is no need to exchange for paper tickets, you can just scan the code to enter the park.
Like the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace is definitely the most popular attraction in Beijing. The most crowded place in the Summer Palace is the ticket office at the main gate, where you can queue for an hour, so be sure to buy your tickets online.
Another thing I want to complain about the Summer Palace is that the mineral water is more expensive than the ticket. Beijing's ticket price is quite reasonable, but the mineral water is quite unscrupulous, 6 yuan a bottle. You have to know that this is not a mountainous area, and there is no transportation cost at all. It's too ugly.

The Summer Palace is known as the Royal Garden Museum and is the best-preserved royal garden today. Its shape imitating the West Lake and the construction techniques of Jiangnan gardens make people feel like they are in the South when visiting.

The scenery is beautiful, but I don't think it's necessary to buy a combined ticket. A single ticket of NT$30 is enough. There are too few signboards, and the attitude of the staff is average. I asked for a long time and took a lot of detours.

When Emperor Qianlong, who loved to play, visited the south of the Yangtze River, he was nostalgic for the bustling streets and shops of Suzhou and its products and customs, so he ordered the accompanying painter to draw a diagram and build it in the Summer Palace. At that time, the streets of Suzhou were lined with jade and antique shops, silk and satin shops, pastry shops, and teahouses. The shop assistants were played by palace maids and eunuchs, and they were "open for business" when the emperor was traveling. It is worthy of being the Summer Palace. It is said that in summer, the lake is full of dense lotus flowers, which is quite a picture of endless green lotus leaves and red lotus flowers reflecting the sun.
Although it is located in the north, it is full of the charm of Jiangnan. You can even use any poem describing Jiangnan to describe it, and it is so appropriate and there is no sense of incongruity.

You can enter from the East Gate, walk along the bank of Kunming Lake, pass the Tower of Buddhist Incense, the Marble Boat, the Half-Wall Bridge, and head south to Ruyi Gate. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Kunming Lake and the pleasant sight of "thousands of green ribbons hanging down" along the way.

The Summer Palace was built during the "Kangxi and Qianlong prosperous eras" and destroyed during the Second Opium War. The Qing government later used funds from the navy's military budget to rebuild it as a place for Empress Dowager Cixi to spend her later years. It is both a product of prosperity and a witness to decline. After the failure of the Reform Movement of 1898, Emperor Guangxu was imprisoned in the Yulan Hall in the garden for a long time. Longevity characters can be seen everywhere in the Summer Palace. Although it is not as solemn as the Forbidden City, the gardens are much larger and more beautiful. Each painting on the 700-meter long corridor is different, and you will feel moved everywhere as you look at the paintings.

By Apple Lynn |

Tickets are 60 yuan, and free for people over 60 years old. The administrative area of the Summer Palace, with Renshou Hall as its center, was where Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu held court and met foreign guests.
Behind the Renshou Hall are three large courtyards: Leshou Hall, Yulan Hall and Yiyun Hall, which were where Cixi, Guangxu and the concubines lived.
The Dehe Garden Grand Theater on the east side of Yiyun Hall is one of the three major theaters in the Qing Dynasty.
Among them is a "long corridor" which is more than 700 meters long. There are more than 8,000 colorful paintings on the beams of the corridor, and it is known as the "World's No. 1 Corridor".
The visit takes 1 day.

We went directly in from Beigong Gate, and then took a boat from Suzhou Street. It was 50 yuan per person to the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, and then walked back to Beigong Gate. I think this is good, and we don't have to walk back and forth, which is too tiring. Wanshou Mountain is very spectacular and the scenery is very charming. It is worth going up.

As a royal garden, the Summer Palace has gone through many vicissitudes and is an indispensable tourist attraction in Beijing. Although the Summer Palace covers an area of 290 hectares, most of it is lakes. The main attractions include Suzhou Street, Longevity Hill, Tower of Buddhist Incense, Seventeen-Arch Bridge, etc. Tickets are 30 yuan in peak season, 20 yuan in off-season, and half the price for students. At the same time, please wear light shoes for easy climbing. The most important Longevity Hill and Tower of Buddhist Incense are both on the top of the mountain, and the mountain road is not very flat. Climbing up the Tower of Buddhist Incense and overlooking the entire lake is really beautiful. At the same time, it is also a good choice to take a bus directly to the Beijing Zoo from the Summer Palace.

The Summer Palace, a royal garden of the Qing Dynasty in China, formerly known as the Qingyi Garden, is located in the western suburbs of Beijing, 15 kilometers away from the city, and covers an area of about 290 hectares. It is a large landscape garden built on the site of Kunming Lake and Wanshou Mountain, modeled on the West Lake in Hangzhou, and drawing on the design techniques of Jiangnan gardens. It is also the most well-preserved royal palace and imperial garden, known as the "Royal Garden Museum", and a national key tourist attraction.

It is very beautiful. It is best to arrange a whole day or at least half a day to see the mountain from the lake and the lake from the mountain. If you enter from the north gate, it will be a bit difficult for the elderly and children. The mountain is not high, but it is not easy to climb.

By 小omama |

The Summer Palace was first built during the 15th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign. It was originally a gift from the emperor to his mother and was called Qingyi Garden.
It was burned down by the British and French allied forces in 1860, and was rebuilt in the 14th year of Emperor Guangxu's reign. It became one of the royal summer resorts and was a favorite place of Empress Dowager Cixi. Later, it was used to imprison Emperor Guangxu... This was all during the Reform Movement of 1898... If you have time, it is recommended to hire a tour guide so that you can learn about history together. In a place like Old Beijing, if there is no explanation, you will only see houses everywhere...

My mother's legs are not good, but she also followed me up from the North Palace Gate. She said that it was fortunate that this was the first stop of the mountain climbing. If it was the last stop, she would definitely not be able to climb. We went down to the lake and spent 60 yuan at the dock to take the No. 2 cruise route directly to the Seventeen-Arch Bridge. Since we have come to the Summer Palace, we must experience the lake where the emperor and empress swam in the past~
Cruise on the lake is the best way and the best angle to appreciate the Longevity Hill, Seventeen-Arch Bridge and other attractions!

Don't say the water of Kunming Lake is shallow, it is better to watch fish than Fuchun River. The great leader mentioned the Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace in his exchanges with famous poets. The Summer Palace, judging from its name, means "smiling and wandering in a place of harmony and charm". Looking at Wengshan (Wanshou Mountain) and Wengshan Lake (Kunming Lake), it is just a garden landscape, but if you combine the Summer Palace with the West Mountain, its borrowing of scenery makes people feel broad-minded and feel the momentum of the sea embracing thousands of gardens. A seventeen-hole bridge is placed obliquely on the east side of Kunming Lake, dividing Kunming Lake into two, and the lake view has a difference in distance, especially at sunrise and sunset in the summer solstice and winter solstice, the sun gives the bridge golden light and shadow, and the beauty arises spontaneously. The Buddhist Incense Pavilion is in the center of the Longevity Mountain, which is home to the buildings and gardens on both sides of the mountain. On the east side, there is the exquisite garden-in-garden "Xiqu Garden", and on the west side, there is a unique stone boat. Together with the Dehe Garden stage and the Yulan Hall copper pavilion and other ancient buildings, they are like pearls cleverly scattered between the mountains and rivers. A long wind and rain corridor is like a jade belt, hanging by the Kunming Lake. It is 728 meters long and has 273 rooms, each with colorful paintings. It combines Chinese traditional culture and art in one, which is amazing. There is the Sea of Wisdom on the top of the Longevity Mountain, and there are Tibetan-style buildings on the back mountain. There is also a Suzhou Street imitating Suzhou architecture by the back river. Wenchang Pavilion and Zhichun Pavilion are also built on the east bank of Kunming Lake. On the west side of Kunming Lake, a long embankment passes through several ancient bridges. In early spring, wandering on the lake embankment, peach and apricot flowers are scattered in bursts of flower rain. In early summer, the ancient willows are lingering, cool and pleasant, and the Yuquan Mountain Tower on the West Mountain is as if in front of you. Outside the West Bank, there is also a farming and weaving map in which the ancient emperors encouraged farming. The Summer Palace is a treasure that integrates architectural aesthetics, garden aesthetics, and painting art.

I go to the Summer Palace several times a year in spring, summer, autumn and winter
The Summer Palace is so big that it would be hard to finish visiting it in one day.
Spring flowers, summer lotus, autumn leaves, winter snow
There are always some wonderful things to discover in every season
Especially after sunset, the sunset glow on the water is even more beautiful.
I like the mist and dirt in the Summer Palace the most. It is in a corner, away from the noise of tour groups, and it is quiet. I always go there to sit for a while.

The Summer Palace is really big. If you are short on time, you can't visit it all.

There's nothing wrong with May Day except that there are so many people.

By Dry Skiing |

The Summer Palace is a royal garden. It was built by Empress Dowager Cixi using naval funds, which directly led to the defeat in the First Sino-Japanese War. It was a real disaster for the country and the people.

By gimoon |

This is the grand royal garden and also the most outstanding one.

By Northwest Flowers|

The lake and mountain scenery, the red-walled courtyards, the historical anecdotes, etc. are too big for ordinary tourists to visit. Please plan your route! Best for spring outings!

The Summer Palace is also one of the three major imperial gardens of the Qing Dynasty, and is known as one of the four famous gardens in China along with the Chengde Mountain Resort, the Humble Administrator's Garden, and the Lingering Garden.

Well, it is not like the previous royal gardens. The overall garden is very large and the scenery is very beautiful.

By 随心-New |

It's famous, but I went there at noon and it was too hot, so it's just average.

By No |

It is one of the more beautiful gardens I have visited, but the weather in Beijing is too hot in the summer!

By the |

I came all the way here, and I came to the west gate. The ticket seller had a very bad attitude and poor service.

By Luanqimeipaopao|

It was the place where ancient emperors escaped the summer heat, with mountains behind and water beside, and a very good location.

By wujianswi |

Half a day of leisure while waiting for the flight, the Summer Palace, a small scene of late summer.

By Brad Wan |

The scenery is super good. The weather is good that day. You have to take a boat to the Summer Palace first, and then walk around.

I went to the Royal Garden in May, but there were so many people

Wanshou Mountain and Kunming Lake are so beautiful! ! ! !

By fincen |

It is much bigger than I thought. I am so tired after walking. The scenery is charming. Mr. Lafayette was so happy back then.

By Zhong Yu|

The overall feeling is "big", "big", and "big". It is a great place for a spring outing.

By *** |

I went there today. If you buy a combined ticket, you can enter some special attractions. If you only buy a ticket, you can only walk around inside and need to climb the mountain. You can take a boat tour in Suzhou Garden. It is a place worth visiting, but you must pay attention to safety.

Royal gardens, clear water, blue sky, fresh air, a relaxing stroll

By hu xing li |

The Royal Garden is really beautiful! However, walking around the lake is really tiring! Especially visiting the Great Wall in the morning and visiting the Summer Palace in the afternoon, haha, my legs are not my own 😄

Located in the western suburbs of Beijing, 15 kilometers from the urban area, it covers an area of about 290 hectares and is adjacent to the Old Summer Palace. Formerly known as the Qingyi Garden, it is an ancient royal garden in Beijing and the most well-preserved royal palace and garden. It is known as the "Royal Garden Museum". It is a must-see attraction in Beijing.

The Summer Palace is beautiful all year round, with red walls and glazed tiles, and it is majestic. Every step is a scene. We were born in Beijing and have been there countless times, but we can always find its beauty. Now the magnolias are in full bloom, so beautiful!

By Haitao e-tribe|

Watching the sunset in the Summer Palace in winter is also a great experience!

By Aqua |

I've been there many times and it's beautiful. The only downside is that the tour guide kept worshipping Empress Dowager Cixi, which I think is not a very positive value. There's also the Cloisonné Museum next door, which I'm a little confused about.

Kunming Lake, Wanshou Mountain, Ciguang Pavilion and Seventeen-Arch Bridge, childhood memories and a great reunion after many years, the Summer Palace, seems very far away and yet very close

By Wandering Sleeper|

The Summer Palace has a nice view, with a large lake, as well as famous attractions such as the Seventeen-Arch Bridge, the Tower of Buddhist Incense, and the Long Corridor. The Summer Palace is very famous, but it is actually a large park with nice scenery, and it takes seven or eight kilometers to circle it.

By Xu Xiang’s perspective |

The royal gardens are magnificent with picturesque scenery and green hills.

By Misa Love Rabbit |

In fact, if you don't hire a tour guide, it's also good to go around by yourself. It's best to avoid the peak tourist season. The scenery and architecture are first-class. I just hope that when it's not the peak tourist season, the staff can open the curtains of each hall so that you can see the furnishings inside the hall.

By tinayq |

The Summer Palace is so big that it takes 2 or 3 hours to walk around. It's a great place for Cixi to live.

By Plus |

The mountain is Wanshou Mountain, the lake is Kunming Lake, and the bridge is the Seventeen-Arch Bridge.

By simon |

The pride of Chinese gardens, but unfortunately it was built with naval funds

By Gouxin|

When southerners saw northern gardens for the first time, they found them not as exquisite nor as majestic as those in the south!

By Blue。 |

It exceeded expectations. If you don't plan to spend a day walking around, just buy the tickets. No combined tickets are needed.
We only bought tickets and walked around for more than 3 hours.
What impressed me most was the corridor, which has a very Beijing-style background.
In winter, when the lake freezes over, you can enjoy ice activities there. It costs 50 yuan per person per time, which is cheaper than what you can see at Shishahai and the Temple of Heaven.

By Xiyue Helean|

The ticket is 20 yuan in the off-season, but each park requires a separate ticket. If you have time, you can buy a combined ticket. If you don’t have time, just buy a ticket and visit casually.

By Mr. Yin |

The imperial gardens are extremely luxurious and magnificent, which shows how comfortable the imperial family of the Qing Dynasty was.

By Yu Qiqi|

Be sure to spend more time in the park! Although it's a quick tour, it's still amazing!

By fifty-nine |

Except for the cold, everything else is perfect. It turns out Beijing also has blue sky and white clouds!
