On both sides are symmetrically dotted four double-eaved octagonal pavilions, namely Liujia, Jilan, Qiushui and Qingyao, symbolizing the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Each beam in the corridor is painted with colorful paintings, totaling more than 14,000 pieces, with bright colors and magnificent appearance. Its length and richness were included in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1990.

The Long Corridor of the Summer Palace is an exquisite wind and rain corridor with a total length of more than 700 meters and more than 400 rooms. When the setting sun shines on the corridor, it will leave a warm light and shadow, which is fascinating. The paintings inside and outside the corridor describe hundreds of classic stories and myths and legends of ancient China. Such as "Sun Wukong makes trouble in the sky", "Eight hammers make trouble in Zhuxian Town", "Three Niang teaches her son", "Borrowing arrows from straw boats", etc. Whether walking in it, or taking a rest here, looking at the paintings of the corridor up close, reviewing historical stories, or looking at the scenery of Kunming Lake from afar, you can relax and nourish your heart.
The Long Corridor of the Summer Palace is indeed quite long when you walk inside it, and the scenery you see as a whole is particularly beautiful.
The Long Corridor of the Summer Palace is really a scene with every step. You won't feel bored even if you walk for a long time. The wind on both sides is very comfortable. It is a summer resort!
Following the elementary school textbook to visit the Summer Palace, there are many descriptions of legends on the corridor. It is fun to recognize them as you walk.
July 31, 2018 Tour The corridor starts from the Yaoyue Gate in the east and ends at the Shizhang Pavilion in the west. It passes through the Paiyun Gate in the middle. The two sides are symmetrically dotted with four double-eaved octagonal pavilions, Liujia, Jilan, Qiushui and Qingyao. It symbolizes the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is 728 meters long, with a total of 273 rooms and 548 pillars. The corridor is famous for its exquisite architecture, twists and turns and extremely rich color paintings. It is the longest corridor in my country's ancient buildings and gardens. The corridor is also a colorful gallery. There are more than 14,000 colorful paintings on each beam in the corridor. The colors are bright and magnificent. Its length and rich color paintings were included in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1990. The contents of the color paintings are mostly landscapes, flowers and birds, and plots from the four great Chinese classical novels (A Dream of Red Mansions, Journey to the West, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Water Margin). The painters condensed thousands of years of Chinese history and culture on this long corridor. Many of the landscape paintings were imitations of the Jiangnan landscape and were painted by painters according to Qianlong's intentions.
Only after I came here did I realize that it would take quite a while to walk the 700-plus meters mentioned in the textbook. The crowds of people, explanations in various languages, the exquisite patterns on the beams and pillars, and the beautiful scenery beside the corridor all stopped us from walking and making us linger...
Every few meters, you can see landscapes, flowers and birds or historical stories on the beams.
The Long Corridor is one of the characteristics of the Summer Palace and is also an important reason why Xiaochuzi came to the Summer Palace. The Long Corridor consists of the main corridor and the side corridor. The main corridor is too crowded, while the side corridor is much less crowded.
The corridor is close to Kunming Lake, and you can overlook the lake and cruise ships, which is also a unique artistic conception.
It is said that this is a world record corridor. Empress Dowager Cixi really enjoyed it.
The famous "Long Corridor" feels like it is several hundred meters long, stretching endlessly through every part of the Summer Palace!
I brought my mother with me. It was a bit cold and I was in a bad mood, but I felt calm in front of Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace. It was great.
The Long Corridor was specially built for Empress Dowager Cixi to visit the garden. From the stories in the paintings in the Long Corridor, we can see that Empress Dowager Cixi’s hobbies: she loved excitement (Journey to the West), opposed power (fishing and killing the family, the case of the beheading of the beauty), cherished heroes (Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin), understood romance (Dream of Red Mansions, Romance of the West Chamber, Chang'e Flying to the Moon, The Fairy Couple, The Legend of the White Snake), loved freedom (Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove, Tao Yuanming, Three Great Men of Literature, Four Haos of Shangshan)... her temperament was similar to that of an old lady next door. Many stories in the paintings are repeated in different locations in the Long Corridor, with only different pictures.
The long corridor beside Kunming Lake was once a place for the royal family to stroll and is now a resting place for tourists.
A place I like very much, it's very beautiful for taking photos
The Long Corridor of the Summer Palace was first built in the 15th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1750). It is 752 meters long (728 meters without the four pavilions) and has 273 rooms. This corridor is full of Chinese classical architectural features. In the 10th year of Emperor Xianfeng's reign (1860), the British and French allied forces launched the Second Opium War against China. The Long Corridor was not spared and was burned down along with the Qingyi Garden by the British and French allied forces. It was rebuilt in 1888. If you look carefully, you will find that this corridor is also a colorful gallery. There are more than 14,000 colorful paintings on each beam of the corridor. The colors are bright and magnificent. Its length and rich paintings were included in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1990. The contents of the paintings are mostly landscapes, flowers and birds, and plots from the four great Chinese classical novels (A Dream of Red Mansions, Journey to the West, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Water Margin). The painters condensed thousands of years of Chinese history and culture on this long corridor. Many of the landscape paintings are imitations of the mountains and rivers of the south of the Yangtze River, which are the places painted by the painters according to the intention of Emperor Qianlong.
A great thing about the Summer Palace is that the water in the restroom is hot in winter, giving people a touch of warmth. The long corridor is very suitable for taking photos, and the red and green pillars and eaves have a historical charm.
It feels like West Lake, but it is different from West Lake. The octagonal pavilion is beautiful. Our culture is really charming.
The Long Corridor of the Summer Palace is located between the southern foot of Wanshou Mountain and the northern shore of Kunming Lake. It was first built in the 15th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1750). It was burned down by the British and French forces in 1860 and rebuilt in 1888. The Long Corridor starts from the Yueyue Gate in the east and ends at the Shizhang Pavilion in the west. It passes through the Paiyun Gate in the middle. The four double-eaved octagonal pavilions of Liujia, Jilan, Qiushui and Qingyao are symmetrically dotted on both sides. It symbolizes the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. The corridor is endless, and all you can see are people. The winding Rainbow Corridor is a famous attraction in the Summer Palace, so it is difficult to take a photo of the corridor without people or with few people, so I just looked up at the colorful paintings on the corridor, which are exquisite.
Along the long corridor, there is Kunming Lake on one side and various palaces on the other.
It takes about half an hour to walk through the entire corridor. At the end of the corridor, there are two branches. One is towards the North Palace Gate, which requires walking on a gentle mountain road. From here, there are fewer people and there are some palace ruins on the mountain.
The paintings in the corridor are very beautiful, and each section is different. There are flower patterns, artistic scenes, and various allusions. It is quite interesting to walk and watch along the way (if there are not so many people...)
The corridor is more than 700 meters long. The paintings in the entire corridor have a story, and people walk forward without realizing it. Since the uploaded photos cannot exceed 8M, I can only regret it.
The Long Corridor is also called the Picture Gallery. It starts from the Yaoyue Gate in the east and ends at the Shizhang Pavilion in the west. It passes through the Paiyun Gate in the middle. On both sides are symmetrically decorated with four double-eaved octagonal pavilions, namely Liujia, Jilan, Qiushui and Qingyao. It symbolizes the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is 728 meters long, with a total of 273 rooms and 548 pillars. There are 273 galleries in the Long Corridor, with more than 8,000 colored paintings. It is 728 meters long and was rated as the longest gallery in the contemporary world by the Guinness Book of World Records in 1990.
This is where Empress Dowager Cixi would take a walk after dinner and tea, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the lake and mountains while admiring the paintings. It is a very meaningful thing for adults and children to review and learn!
This is the longest corridor among all the ancient buildings and gardens in my country, with exquisite paintings on it.
The Long Corridor is a scene in the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace was rebuilt from the Qingyi Garden during the reign of Emperor Qianlong. Most of the buildings in the garden, from the Tower of Buddhist Incense to the Suzhou Street behind, are original, but the Long Corridor is newly built. This corridor, which is more than 700 meters long and consists of more than 200 rooms, seamlessly connects the Renshou Hall and its surrounding royal work and living areas with the leisure area of Wanshou Mountain, making the main buildings of the entire garden connected as one. The colorful paintings in the Long Corridor include pavilions, towers, lakes and mountains, and many stories of historical figures, which are very attractive.
Located on the north bank of Kunming Lake and the south side of Longevity Hill in the Summer Palace, the Long Corridor stretches from the Moon Invitation Gate in the east to the Stone Pavilion in the west. It is 728 meters long, winding and full of colorful paintings. In the spring when the peach blossoms and willows are green, walking in the long corridor with carved beams and painted buildings and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Kunming Lake, how can you not feel relaxed?
The corridor is very long, and each painting in each corridor represents a story. It is amazing to have so many paintings with stories.
走在這裡只能說.好熱人真多..下次不能6月來.
It suddenly started raining during the tour, which was a bit disappointing. We didn't get to visit many places, but it was nice to see them from a distance.
The longest corridor in the world, what a waste this old Buddha is.

The Long Corridor is 728 meters long (752 meters if the four pavilions are included), and the beams under the roof divide it into 273 rooms. Along its direction, there are two on each side of the Paiyun Gate, a total of four double-eaved octagonal pavilions, representing the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter, and are named from east to west: Liujia, Jilan, Qiushui, and Qingyao. There is a road between the two pavilions on each side of the Paiyun Gate. The pavilions on the lakeshore can be reached through the short southward extension of the Long Corridor: Duiou Fang is in the east, and Yuzao Pavilion is in the west. There is also a northward extension in the west in the opposite direction of Yuzao Pavilion, leading to a three-story octagonal watchtower. The Long Corridor is famous for its exquisite architecture, winding paths and rich paintings. It is the longest corridor in ancient buildings and gardens. It is also a colorful gallery. There are more than 14,000 paintings on each beam in the corridor. The colors are bright and magnificent. Its length and rich paintings were included in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1990.
The corridor is also a gallery. The paintings on each beam are delicate and different. The details of a large garden can be so exquisite.
Cixi spent most of her time here. The long corridor is also a gallery. On each beam of the corridor there are exquisite paintings by painters, and each one is very delicate. Suzhou gardens are small and exquisite, while the Summer Palace is just the opposite.
There is a 700-meter-long corridor beside Kunming Lake, which is the longest corridor in Chinese gardens, known as the "world's first corridor" and listed in the "Guinness World Records". At the end of the corridor, there is the Shizhang Pavilion to the west and the Yueyue Gate to the east.
The Qingyao Pavilion is characterized by purity: the plaques on the east and west sides are respectively titled: "Clouds and Clear Rivers" and "Looking Down at the Mirror and Clear Streams". The east side is painted with the story of "Single Rider Rescues the Lord" from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and the west side is painted with "Three Heroes Fighting Lü Bu". The plaque on the north side of the Qingyao Pavilion, "Fu Zao Qun Yan", is still a reminder for the monarch to widely adopt the advice of many wise men.

Now many of the paintings on the corridor have been damaged to varying degrees. If they are not protected and restored, they will no longer be visible, which is a pity.

How can you come to Beijing without visiting the Summer Palace?
Take the bus from Qianmen to the scenic spot, buy a ticket, and visit the Summer Palace. It is a royal place, bright and spacious...
It's so comfortable to walk in the quiet garden corridor in such a popular place like the Summer Palace~
This trip to Beijing was mainly to accompany the elderly. The weather was good during the days I was there. As a royal garden, the Summer Palace is indeed luxurious and exquisite.
I still remember the scene when I read it in the elementary school textbook, and it seemed to be a required text to memorize? It was not bad to see the real thing, nothing was shattered by imagination, but there were too many people everywhere in Beijing during the summer vacation...
The corridor is very long, and there are many fish in the river. It is said that this is where the imperial palace went out for outings in the past? ? ? I don’t know if it’s right. Well, I’m going to study now.
I have been to Beijing many times, because I studied in Tianjin before, and every time I went to school, I went to Beijing first and then transferred to Tianjin. I like the ancient cultural atmosphere of Beijing. In this ancient city, there are too many historical deposits, and I can never see enough.

It is really very long. You can take photos, stare blankly, or carefully appreciate the calligraphy and paintings on the ceiling of the corridor and listen to the tour guide telling their stories.
The promenade is a place worth visiting. Each painting has a different story and needs to be savored carefully.

To be honest, I don't remember the long corridor anymore! It's been too long! But the bronze bull is still very impressive! In the end, I got a bull! Haha
The endless corridor is a place for rest and cool air. There are countless paintings on the railings.

The Long Corridor of the Summer Palace is the most famous attraction in the Summer Palace, almost as famous as the Tower of Buddhist Incense. The nearly one-mile long corridor is dotted with four pavilions, symbolizing spring, summer, autumn and winter, and also ensuring the safety of the corridor building. The colorful paintings of the corridor are another highlight. The existing colorful paintings were restored after the founding of the People's Republic of China, but they were all restored on the original basis, so they still retain their original characteristics. There are many scenes from the four famous classics. See how many you can find.
A classic fusion of Chinese and Western styles, the world's longest east-west painted corridor.
Very good. I really like the grand, exquisite, magnificent and majestic garden architecture of the Summer Palace!
It's really long! There are many paintings on the top of the corridor. Each painting tells a story.
The mottled painting has the color of stories and the strong historical atmosphere is intoxicating.
There are all kinds of paintings in the corridor, all of which are scenes from Chinese stories, such as Guan Yu scraping his bones to heal his wounds, Journey to the West, etc. Walk along the river. If you want to take pictures of the waterscape, walk on the embankment. If you don't want to be exposed to the sun, walk in the corridor. You don't have to go to find this attraction specifically, you can go and see it.
The flowers behind the corridor are very beautiful. You can take a rest in the corridor when you are tired.
Spring is here, the trees are green, and there are many people enjoying the spring. The scenery is very beautiful. It is a good place for a leisurely stroll in Beijing.
Go, you will be amazed at the wisdom and greatness of the ancient Chinese people.
The weather was good on the day I went there, with clear skies, and the photos were beautiful.
It's true that the content of the painting is different without clothes, it's amazing
The license plate looks very nice when no one is around.
The Summer Palace is a must-visit when traveling to Beijing. This long corridor is in the Summer Palace. The paintings on it are very beautiful! Very bad, very bad. There are lakes along the way... trees! This season is just right! The temperature is suitable, and the flowers in the Summer Palace are blooming! It is very suitable for visiting... You can spend a day if you have time.

As soon as you come out of Tingli Pavilion, you will see the Long Corridor. In fact, you can see Tingli Pavilion and Kunming Lake as you walk along the Long Corridor.
Although the corridor is long, it is also crowded with people. It is very crowded and there are so many people that it is impossible to take photos properly. There are almost no duplicate paintings on the corridor. They are all famous paintings or stories that have been told.
The floor of the corridor is made of gold bricks, which is warm in winter and cool in summer. But I can't feel it at all, maybe because the soles of shoes in ancient times were thinner.
The Summer Palace is quite large. The most impressive thing is the Long Corridor, which has various colorful paintings on the top and a sense of history.
After all, it is a royal garden, so it is worth visiting. My home is very close to the Summer Palace, and I spent my childhood here. I go swimming in the Summer Palace in summer. I go ice skating in the Summer Palace in winter. Haha!
Now I take my kids here to exercise on weekends. We walk in circles and feed the fish in Kunming Lake. When the weather is warm, we spread out a mat and take a nap.
The scenery is pretty good. It is built along the Kunming Lake. You can see the sparkling water and the unique lotus flowers along the way. It is recommended to avoid the peak period. The whole Summer Palace is the same, but there are too many people. The originally beautiful lakeside corridor is packed with people most of the time, and there is no place to sit. The scenery is pleasant when there are fewer people. Each painting on the top of the corridor is different. You can go and see and study it. Many of them are familiar allusions...

Many of the landscapes are imitations of the Jiangnan landscape, which are the places painted by the painters according to Qianlong's intentions.
Only by strolling through it can you deeply feel what Mr. Lu Xun wrote in "Qie Jie Ting Miscellaneous Collection": "Only the national is the world." You can feel the changes in history, feel the cultural heritage, and marvel at the charm of rich colors.
Summer is also the peak tourist season in the Summer Palace, with crowds of people surging and jostling each other, making it difficult to enjoy the scenery. It is recommended to visit the Summer Palace in early spring, enter from the East Palace Gate to enjoy the Renshou Hall, watch the Opera House, linger in the Leshou Hall, feel the luxury of Empress Dowager Cixi and her love of magnolias, walk west along the Long Corridor to appreciate the paintings and view the scenery, cross the Paiyun Gate, and enjoy the fun of the tour. Not only can you see paintings in the corridor, but there are also countless paintings outside the corridor. Go straight along the corridor to the west foot of Wanshou Mountain, take a look at the stone boat, and enter the Farming and Weaving Picture Scenic Area along the way. You can go south along the West Dike. Looking back along the coast, you can see the Paiyun Hall and the Buddhist Incense Pavilion reflected in the clear water of Kunming Lake, and the royal style will jump into your heart. If you come here in March and April when the spring is warm and the flowers are blooming, the flowers and willows are more beautiful than those in the south of the Yangtze River. Climb the Yudai Bridge to enjoy the beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains. Step onto the south bank, and the water of Kunming Lake will ripple under your feet. See the South Ruyi Gate, turn north, and see the whole view of the West Embankment across the river. The Seventeen-Arch Bridge is in sight. You won’t feel tired at all when you see this beautiful scenery! Cross the Seventeen-Arch Bridge to Nanhu Island, pay homage to the Dragon King, and walk around the island to see the pavilions and towers on the blue waves. The Seventeen-Arch Bridge at sunset is beautiful! Stay between the Seventeen-Arch Bridge and Wanshou Mountain on the east bank, and recall that the beauties and scholars of the late Qing Dynasty must have added a lot of color to the garden~
It is recommended to enter the park after lunch. The whole journey takes about 3-4 hours, but this only visits one-third of the park.
The Long Corridor of the Summer Palace is my favorite cultural corridor, no doubt about it, because there are many historical and cultural stories there. Wearing the audio guide while watching the paintings and listening to the stories, it feels like listening to a book. It is worth a visit for those who like history, culture and literature, especially for students of the right age to go on-site learning and exploration
Not far from the entrance to the Summer Palace in the western suburbs of Beijing, there is a colorful nine-curve corridor with carved beams and painted buildings in pastel colors leading to the depths of the Summer Palace. This is one of the classic buildings of the Summer Palace.
The student ticket is 10 yuan. It was winter when I went there, and Kunming Lake was frozen. If you meet a tour group, you can also enjoy the tour guide's explanation.
When I was a child, my favorite place to go to the Summer Palace was the Long Corridor, which contained various historical stories, such as the Three Kingdoms, as well as mythological stories such as Journey to the West.
There were so many people at the time that I didn't take any pictures with a good mood, but it was pretty good.
The Long Corridor of the Summer Palace is located between the southern foot of the Longevity Hill and the northern shore of the Kunming Lake. It is 728 meters long, with 273 rooms and 548 pillars. The Long Corridor starts from the Yueyue Gate in the east and ends at the Shizhang Pavilion in the west, passing through the Paiyun Gate in the middle. The Long Corridor is famous for its exquisite architecture, twists and turns, and extremely rich colorful paintings. It is one of the most distinctive landscapes in the Summer Palace.
The Long Corridor was first built in the 15th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1750 AD). It was burned down by the British and French forces in 1860 and rebuilt in 1888. The Long Corridor was included in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1990 for its length and rich colored paintings. There are colored paintings on every beam in the corridor, totaling more than 14,000. The contents of the colored paintings include landscape paintings imitating the scenery of Jiangnan, as well as fine-brush paintings of flowers and birds, and many plots of the four great classical Chinese novels are also included. The colorful and magnificent scenery makes you feel relaxed and happy when you wander in it.
The long corridor is decorated with four double-eaved octagonal pavilions, symbolizing the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. Liujia, Jilan, Qiushui and Qingyao are very elegant names.
