Zizhuyuan Park

紫竹院公园

Beijing Zizhuyuan Park is located outside Xizhimen, Beijing. When you come to Zizhuyuan, you will enter the kingdom of bamboo. There are bamboo buildings, bamboo pavilions, bamboo tables, bamboo chairs, and even large and small bridges are decorated with bamboo in the park. The spectacular Dong Village Wind and Rain Bamboo Bridge allows visitors to personally experience the fun of the Guizhou Dong people taking shelter from the rain and resting on the bridge; the Shangchuan Bridge is a large bamboo boat with a bamboo awning and bamboo windows. The bamboo market street built with bamboo on the lakeside is crowded with people. People drink tea, taste bamboo meals, and buy various bamboo daily necessities and handicrafts here, which makes people feel the important position of bamboo in life.
Various bamboo buildings fully demonstrate the bamboo culture of the Chinese nation. The bamboo waterwheel turns slowly with the sound of rushing water. The bamboo poles that keep pushing make the bamboo raft draw a water mark on the lake. People have fun riding in bamboo sedan chairs, playing diabolos, and blowing bamboo tubes. A large group of people happily dance to the rhythm of the Miao reed pipe. The song and dance performances of the Bai and Dai ethnic groups in Yunnan on the bamboo stage on the lawn also attracted a large number of tourists.
May to July is the blooming period of hydrangeas. Wearing simple and elegant clothes to take photos is beyond the picture.

Zizhuyuan, a park I haven't visited for a long time, is now open to the public for free.

There is a beautiful bamboo forest in the courtyard, which is very suitable for taking pictures. When walking through the bamboo forest, I found several groups of beautiful girls wearing Hanfu taking pictures.

There is a pier in the courtyard where you can take a boat trip. In summer, the lotus flowers at Hehuadu are in full bloom.

The open space next to it was very lively. Although it was already afternoon, there were still many residents who came here to exercise. Some formed groups to perform Yangko, some danced silk dances, and in the pavilion a little further away there were people playing the erhu. It was lively and very interesting.

The playground in my memory is still open, but the facilities have been changed to what children like now. There is an activity park, suitable for younger children, with various slides and climbing facilities. You can spend two or three hours there. Of course, these are charged separately. As for eating, there is a restaurant next to Hehuadu, and there are drinks and fast food shops around the playground~~~

Zizhuyuan Park is located near Baishiqiao in Haidian District, surrounded by Beijing Library and Capital Gymnasium, and about 2 kilometers away from Beijing Zoo. The park is dominated by lotus flowers and purple bamboos, and there are many photographers who come here to take pictures of lotus flowers and sparrows. The autumn river in Zizhuyuan Park is charming, and there is also a pier here. Take the small ferry of the Beijing Water System Changhe Line to the South Ruyi Gate of the Summer Palace in about 20 minutes.

I have visited so many parks in Beijing, but Zizhuyuan is such a natural place. It lacks the luxury of royal gardens, but has the freedom of natural gardens and classic and unconventional design (besides, the Taihu stones here are really beautiful). The landscape is layered and undulating, calm but full of surprises. Moreover, the garden landscape takes into account the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. In other words, the same location and vegetation have different scenery to enjoy in each season, which is very thoughtful. When I was about to leave the east gate, I walked around and saw several small bamboo forests, one of which was the original purple bamboo. It was a delightful beginning of May to visit this garden!

It is more beautiful than I remember and more beautiful than a park can be imagined. It feels a bit like a forest in the city.

By I just like to eat-eat-eat! |

I didn't come here when it was in full bloom. The lotus flowers are very big and beautiful. A good place to rest and walk

Zizhuyuan Park was one of the parks I often visited when I was a child. As I entered my student days, I went there less and less often. Stepping into this park again, I also found many childhood memories. There is a children's playground in the park. Many of the facilities in it have not changed much compared to when I was a child, as if they were still in the past. The refreshment shop in front of the lotus bridge has been in business since I was a child. The moment I saw it, the memories of the past came to my mind. It felt like meeting an elder whom I hadn't seen for many years, kind and touching.

Zizhuyuan Park is free to enter and is a great place for a leisurely stroll. Walking along the bamboo path brings a bit of coolness in the hot summer. Standing on the Plum Bridge and watching wild ducks foraging among the lotus leaves is even more interesting.

Zizhuyuan is named after bamboo, but there are many storytelling boards in the courtyard, which is very interesting. It is completely the normal life of old Beijingers, and the cultural atmosphere is very rich~ It is almost 11 o'clock now. I have been walking around for more than 20 minutes and it is almost time to leave~

I came to Zizhuyuan Park to relax on a smoggy day. The leaves of the two 400-year-old ginkgo trees in Zizhuyuan Palace were almost gone, but I could still feel its history and beauty. I felt relaxed in the Zen temple and worshipped Buddha. I saw several pots of chrysanthemums growing wildly and were particularly pleasing. The reflections on the lake were like oil paintings. It was a great little park.

Zizhuyuan Park is a park suitable for leisure and entertainment. It does not charge admission, so many people come here, especially those who live nearby. There are people singing and dancing in the park, and people taking a walk. Almost all of them are from nearby. There are especially many people doing square dance in the morning and morning. There are a lot of bamboos in the park, and there is an artificial lake. The water surface is quite wide, but the water quality is not good and it is relatively dirty. I didn't see anyone rowing. There are potted lotus flowers not far from the east gate, and there are also lotus flowers blooming in the lake. There is an amusement park for children to play, and there are children in an artificial rectangular pool with goldfish for children to fish and play. It costs dozens of yuan each time, and it seems to be 10 minutes. I don't remember it clearly. In short, it is a good place for leisure, entertainment, fitness and exercise!

In summer, the crape myrtles on the shore and the lotus flowers on the water come in from both land and water. In less than a week, Zizhuyuan is painted a dazzling pink.

The small lake in the north of Zizhuyuan Park can almost be said to be the kingdom of lotus. If people had not cleared a waterway in it for the purpose of enjoying the scenery, it would have been unknown whether the surface of this small lake could be seen.

The Lotus Bridge in Zizhuyuan Park is just as its name suggests. Whether you look north or south from the bridge, the most eye-catching thing is always the lotus flowers among the emerald green lotus leaves.

Near the National Library, you can combine a day with the National Library or the Zoo. The scenery is picturesque in summer, with bamboo gardens, lotus ponds, and boat rides.

There is Zizhuyuan in the north of Beijing Normal University and Yuyuantan in the south. Zizhuyuan is characterized by large bamboo forests and lotus flowers. On weekends, you can see many old men sitting by the river fishing.

By The Sky on the Other Shore |

It is a natural landscape garden with hundreds of bamboo trees and thousands of green bamboo poles, with bamboo as the scenery and bamboo as the main attraction. The courtyard is cleverly decorated with bamboos and flowers, and the scenery is picturesque at every turn. The spring breeze is warm and the flowers bloom, the summer mist is light and the boats are covered with green canopies, the autumn rain moistens the reeds and the maple leaves are bright, and the winter clouds and auspicious snow reflect the pines and bamboos.

It is a street garden for Beijing citizens to relax. Admission is free. Water, pavilions, terraces, bridges, elegant and popular people can enjoy it.

By Xuanxuan's Food Tour |

There are so many parks in Beijing. I can only take advantage of the good weather in summer to take my kids to more parks. Zizhuyuan is one of them that I haven't been to for a long time. In addition to a large number of tour groups coming to play, there are also many elderly people who come to exercise and dance to practice. The environment is really good. Walking on the tree-lined avenue and looking at the cruise ship in the lotus pond, it's so beautiful! Of course, the amusement park must be the favorite of children. There are many facilities and you can play all day!

By Keep walking |

The park has verdant pines and cypresses, swaying bamboo forests, and clusters of flowers. The scenery is designed in a patchwork manner, and you can see the care of the park. You can go boating in the lake in the park. There are still many people on the lake on weekends. Walking around the park will not make you too tired, and it also plays a role in exercising your body. You will feel comfortable in nature. In addition, the pastry shop in the park is very famous in Beijing, you can try it.

Note, it’s free.

By Sensitive |

I was deeply impressed by Zizhuyuan. The yard is not too big, but there are many varieties of bamboo. More than 20 years have passed, and now Zizhuyuan Lake is big and beautiful, but there are fewer bamboos. It is a good place for leisure and entertainment.

As a free city park, the scenery is pretty good. There are many people dancing inside, and it is a good place to enjoy the spring and have fun.

Zizhuyuan Park is located in the northwest suburbs of Beijing, near Baishiqiao in Haidian District, and west of Beijing Capital Gymnasium. Zizhuyuan Park was built in 1953. It was named "Fuyin Zizhuyuan" because there was a temple in the northwest of the park during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has the unique bamboo garden of Shunan Bamboo Sea and the Lingshi meadow landscape of Tuerling. The whole park covers an area of 47.35 hectares, of which the water surface accounts for about one-third. Nanchang River and Shuangzi Canal pass through the park, forming a basic pattern of three lakes, two islands, one embankment, one river and one canal. It is a natural landscape garden with hundreds of bamboos and thousands of green poles, and bamboo is used to create landscapes and win. From July 1, 2006, Zizhuyuan Park is free to visit.

The summer lotus in Zizhuyuan is also a sight to behold, attracting many photography enthusiasts to take pictures.

By The river is clear |

Zizhuyuan Park is a free park provided to local residents in Haidian District. The park has a lot of vegetation and beautiful garden design, especially bamboo as the main feature. It is a good place for leisure exercise and strolling.

By The Rice Eater |

I passed by here on my way to the National Library and came in to take a short rest. The garden is not big, but its exquisiteness exceeded my expectation. It is a veritable bamboo sea with a large green area and lush trees, which complement each other. It was an afternoon in late autumn or early winter, and the quiet environment and warm sunshine made people feel extremely comfortable both physically and mentally.

By Confused Lamb |

Zizhuyuan was a landmark park in the past. It was not far from the zoo and was therefore very famous. After that, it was freed and was treated as a street park. However, the park is still well maintained.

[Location] It is not far from the zoo, the National Museum, and Weigongcun. Sometimes you will pass through Zizhuyuan when going from here to there.

[Ticket] It's free, but you can row a boat inside for a fee.

[Scenery] As a free park (I've been going to free parks a lot recently...), Zizhuyuan is very nice, with lots of water and trees. Many elderly people and children come here for a walk, and I've also seen people taking ancient style photos here. However, it is said that it is not suitable for couples to date because it will "chase fate". . The north is not suitable for growing bamboo. There are already quite a lot of bamboos in Zizhuyuan. Of course, it can't be compared with the south, but it is also a landscape. I still like the road signs and maps of Zizhuyuan. There are many and they are relatively clear. I just feel that the gate is a bit hidden and I can't find it. . There are a lot of green and fewer flowers, but it's still very comfortable to stay there~

By China-TravelNote users |

I like Zizhuyuan. I also like the name of a nearby community, Xiaoyueyuan. There are bamboo clumps at the entrance. Grandpa teaches children to catch fish with a net cage. Grandma chats on the small stone bridge, and the orchestra is melodious. There is a large expanse of water, rocks, and weak willows. The sun shines on the water. You can sit here quietly for a whole day. Zizhuyuan also has water recreation facilities, and you can rent a boat to tour the entire lake. Opposite is the National Library, where you can spend half a day lazily holding two books.

By Strolling in the sun |

I lived near the park for three years and came here for a walk at night. I am very familiar with it. The park is free. It is said that Empress Dowager Cixi would stop here when she went to the Summer Palace, so it became famous. There are bamboos, lotus flowers, lakes, Zen temples, and beautiful scenery. The temperature is three or four degrees lower than outside in summer, which feels very cool! Every day from opening to closing, there are many people walking, exercising, dancing, fishing, and all kinds of activities. I once climbed up a nearby high-rise building to take a bird's-eye view of the park, as shown in the picture below. There is a river running through the park, and the stream leads directly to the Summer Palace.

Zizhuyuan Park is open to the public for free. In the summer of 2011, my father and I took a bus from Longze and it was very convenient. In the hot summer, there are many spray-like devices in the park to irrigate and moisturize the bamboo in the yard. On the other hand, it adds a lot of coolness on a hot summer day. The yard is not very big, but the design is also unique, giving people the desire to visit. There are bamboo forests, small bridges, lotus ponds, and flowing water. It is very pleasant to accompany parents and family members to relax and stroll. You can bring some food. It is also a good place for picnics. If you have this convenience, you can come and experience it. I think you will not be disappointed. This is the memory of my father and I in the summer of 2011. Dad, we will go to the park when we have time.

Zizhuyuan Park is a nice place, not too big or too small, perfect for a stroll. There are many types of bamboo here, I can't tell them apart anyway. You can come here to enjoy the lotus in the summer, it's free, it's really nice

There are many people walking in the evening. It is a free park near Xizhimen. There are singing and dancing at night. It is very nice.

It's only 20 minutes away from school. I went there only now after studying in Beijing for six years. It's a big place, worth a visit. It's not easy to find such a piece of land in the Third Ring Road where every inch of land is valuable. Invite three or five friends, carry a camera, bring snacks and poker, take a walk and chat. In the summer, the lake is full of lotus flowers, which is very pleasant.

By Walking tea stick |

There are many grandpas and aunts in the free park, but the scenery is nice. I have to say that the weather in Beijing today is very good.

By Ran Yu |

Zizhuyuan Park in early spring, lotus flowers in summer and fallen leaves in autumn. Spring comes late in Beijing, but Zizhuyuan Park is still crowded with tourists, and the singing and dancing grandpas and aunts are enthusiastic.

By Huahua |

In July when the lotus flowers are in bloom, the park you must visit is Zizhuyuan Park. In fact, the park is very large and you can spend a whole day there. The atmosphere in the park is very good. There are people practicing musical instruments. We also met someone practicing catwalk and we learned it together. There are many tourists and it is very lively. You can take a boat to cruise among the lotus flowers, which is very beautiful. In fact, the name of the park contains "bamboo", which means there is a quiet bamboo forest. But it is even more attractive when the lotus flowers bloom.

By Monroe Water Village |

Born in Beijing, my childhood home was very close to Zizhuyuan. My mom told me to go there at least once a week, as if it were my own garden. Just kidding! It feels like a southern landscape. There are many elderly people. There are many people doing morning exercises in the morning. I went back for the first time last year after coming to the United States, and it still felt like a child. When you come to Beijing, go to Zizhuyuan.

By Small zinc |

Zizhuyuan Park is a park that is famous for its bamboo scenery. There are many bamboos, including purple bamboo, planted in the park. The environment in the park is quiet and picturesque. In particular, the water area, which accounts for one-third of the park, provides a good growth environment for the pure and clean lotus. Every summer, the vast lake in the park is full of lotus flowers in full bloom, and the fragrance of lotus fills the air.

Enter the gate, walk through a large bamboo forest, and come to the lakeside near the lakeside boat dock. At this time, a group of photographers have gathered on the shore, photographing a lotus near the shore. When I got closer, I found out that they were interested in a group of sparrows flying on the lotus leaves. I also took a few photos. I took a few close-up macro photos of some lotuses transplanted to the shore, and clearly recorded the delicate petals and buds of the lotus: the open petals and plump buds present a pure and unworldly, charming appearance. Then walk around the lake, while enjoying the lotus on the lake, and choose beautiful scenery to shoot. The budding lotus is like a shy girl, full of expectation in beauty; the dead branches of the remaining lotus are still clear, and the fallen petals are still gorgeous. They bring a different kind of beauty and artistic conception.

By Walking like a leisurely |

It has a very good geographical location, located in Haidian District, near many famous universities, the closest is Beijing University of Chemical Technology, then Minzu University of China, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University are actually on the same line, you can take the bus to visit them one by one. As for the scenery of the park itself, it is also quite good, quiet and peaceful, with a lot of bamboos, especially in winter when it snows, the snow hanging on the bamboo is very beautiful, along Zizhuyuan Park, you can take a bus directly to Diaoyutai Ginkgo Avenue, which is very convenient. .

By Nicknames have been registered |

Take the subway to the National Library Station, exit from Exit D and walk south for a short distance to reach Zizhuyuan Park, which is free to enter.

As soon as you enter, you will see a dense forest. Under the forest, there are groups of old people practicing singing, and their voices are really loud.

At the Lotus Ferry Pier, you can take a cruise into the Lotus Lake and see the lotus flowers up close. You can also see the lotus flowers along the shore of the Lotus Lake, and many people take pictures of the lotus flowers.

The cruise ship dock inside can provide a variety of cruise ships. The duck electric boat is the most popular among children. The lake is not big, and if you are lucky, you can see some wild ducks.

There are cruise ships to and from the Summer Palace at Ziyuwan Pier in the northwest of the park. If you have enough time, you can take a ride. There are also cruise ships heading to the zoo.

Zizhuyuan is named after purple bamboo. There are many kinds of bamboo planted in the garden. If you want to distinguish them, you have to learn by looking at the signs.

The park is small so there are not many places to eat, but I actually saw my favorite Daoxiangcun.

By Sweet Korean |

It's not a very big park, but the environment is very good, which I like. It's quiet, especially suitable for afternoons, when you can go there with your favorite people and watch the sunset.

By Qiantong |

It is not a very famous tourist attraction, and there are almost no tourists. It is a place where locals go, and it is very comfortable. When I came here, there happened to be an uncle playing the erhu not far away in the woods. In such an ancient city, at such an evening, sitting alone on the path under the pine forest, listening to the most traditional Chinese musical instrument, it is really wonderful.

By Sorry |

The entrance fee is free. It's very close to my home and I can go there by bike. There are many old men and women dancing and exercising. It's very lively if I go there early in the morning. There is a children's park near the south gate. It's nice to take the children to play hand-cranked boats and go around the lotus in the summer when there are lotus flowers. There is also a lake for duck boats. Some boats have induction guns, and they will spray water when they hit the big ball on someone. Sometimes the park will set up some stalls to sell food and daily necessities. It's nice to stroll around when you have nothing to do.

We came to Zizhuyuan Park after dinner on the first day. The park was very lively, with people walking everywhere. There were also several small squares with dancing grandpas and aunts. It was just not suitable for running because there were too many people. The park is not small. We had to walk 2 kilometers in a simple circle. The next morning, I went for a run and found that the park was not open. Many people were hanging out at the door. It was not open until 6 o'clock, which was too late for a park in the city center. The scenery of the park is good, with secluded paths, shady trees, lotus ponds, small bridges, pavilions, and various service facilities. It is still very good near the Third Ring Road in Beijing. I originally thought it was a royal garden. Later, I searched on Baidu and found that it was built in 1953. It was named "Buddha Shades Zizhuyuan" because there was a temple in the northwest of the park during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is suitable for leisure and play. Finally, it was said that this park is free.

Located next to Zizhu Bridge on the West Third Ring Road, it is separated from the National Library by a wall. It is very convenient for buses and subways, and the location is excellent. It is a free park, with bamboo scenery as the main feature, beautiful lake scenery and various green plants, which is beautiful. It was one of the imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Maybe it was because it was a weekday, there were not many tourists, and it seemed very quiet. The weeping willows were very soft by the lake, and there were tourists rowing in the lake, which felt very cool. Some lotus flowers have already bloomed, and they should be more beautiful in a few weeks. The park is well managed, especially clean, and the flowers and plants are well maintained, and some plants are marked with their names.

Bamboo is a plant native to the south of the Yangtze River, and is not common in the north. When I came to Zizhuyuan Park located in Baishiqiao, I walked through the winding and quiet paths in the park, and bent down to pass through the clumps of green bamboo forests. I felt as if I was in the mist of the south of the Yangtze River. Zizhuyuan has a rich variety of bamboos, including purple bamboo, spotted bamboo, green bamboo, stone bamboo, longevity bamboo, and golden jade bamboo. In addition to bamboo, there are large areas of water here. In summer, when boating through the lotus fragrance, you may accidentally startle a few wild ducks, and the cicadas in your ears are full of summer. The park is shaded by green trees and fragrant grass. The park is cleverly constructed, with mountains and rivers alternating, winding and undulating, small bridges and flowing water, full of vitality. There is also a scenic spot in the park called "Cross-Sea Eastern Expedition". A Chinese chess game is arranged on the ground, and the life-size stone chess pieces are lifelike, vivid and interesting. There are also classic chess games carved on the surrounding stones, which is a paradise for chess fans and children. Zizhuyuan Park covers a vast area, is shaded by green trees, surrounded by clear water, and has a beautiful view at every step. It has convenient transportation and is an excellent free leisure park in the city.

I was lying on the bed at home, looking at the ceiling, but I couldn't stand it any longer, so I ran to Zizhuyuan alone to see the lotus flowers. Maybe I came too early and there were very few flowers.

There are all kinds of people here, photographers holding "long guns" to take pictures of lotus flowers; happy families; friends in groups of three or five; couples holding hands on a date... Of course, there are also people like me who walk alone with headphones on.
