It is named after the Fairy Mountain National Forest Park in the north of the town.
It has famous scenic spots such as Fairy Mountain National Forest Park, Three Natural Bridges, and Longshui Gorge Fissure.

From Chongqing, we drove up to Wulong, along winding mountain roads. After a few kilometers, we arrived at the town of Xiannvshan. The temperature up there was noticeably lower than down below, and a chill hit us as soon as we got out of the car. Fortunately, we had some warm clothes in the car. The town was clean and tidy, with beautiful houses. From a distance, it felt like a European town.
Maybe because the holiday was over, there were not many people in the town. I parked my car at the Camp David Hotel and walked a few hundred meters to the entrance of the scenic area. There was no queue at the entrance. I bought an 80 yuan ticket that only included the entrance ticket to the scenic area, which also included the bus ticket to the entrance of the scenic area.
It takes more than ten minutes to take the bus to the entrance of the scenic area. It is also very convenient to go to various attractions here. If you are traveling with children, you really need to pay attention to safety. ⚠️⚠️⚠️
I checked the housing prices in Wulong's Fairy Mountain Town. Small villas right next to the tourist center are around 4,000 yuan per square meter, while those further out are just over 2,000 yuan. It's truly affordable. Since we saw so many exquisite small villas in Fairy Mountain Town, I couldn't resist asking around.
Fairy Mountain Town is absolutely fantastic during the off-season! Absolutely fantastic! Accommodation is incredibly affordable, incredibly quiet, and practically the entire town is completely booked! If you have plenty of time, I highly recommend staying overnight in Fairy Mountain Town! After exploring the Tiankeng and Difeng on your first day, you can enjoy a Wulong mutton hotpot dinner in the evening, and then head back to Fairy Mountain early the next morning.
This time we stayed in Fairy Mountain Town for NT$100 per night. The hotel was new and clean. Although the temperature was low on the mountain, the room was warm and comfortable. The mutton hotpot at the restaurant next door was also very good. We were very satisfied with the experience and it was a great experience!
There is a pedestrian street in Xiannvshan Town, next to the tourist center.
I walked around and saw few people. I saw a few locals playing badminton. The cafes and restaurants were closed. You can imagine how crowded it must be during peak season.
At the Xiannvshan Town Visitor Center, you can buy tickets for the Tiankeng and Difeng (ceiling) caves and fissures. Buses to Wulong County and Xiannvshan also depart from here. The area in front of the Visitor Center is the busiest, with many restaurants and the most people. However, there aren't many tables of tourists, as it's the off-season.
Located in Wulong District, Chongqing, it lies on the north bank of the Wujiang River, 20 km from downtown Wulong. At an altitude of 260-1930 meters, it boasts a distinct three-dimensional climate and a forest coverage rate of 63%. The area boasts well-preserved vegetation, fresh air, and no industrial waste gas or wastewater pollution, making it a prime destination for both green food production and leisure. Tourist attractions include Fairy Mountain National Forest Park, the Three Natural Bridges, and the Longshuixia Geode. Take the train from Chongqing North to Wulong. From Wulong Station, take a minibus (10 yuan) for about an hour to Fairy Town. Across from the bus is the tourist center.
Fairy Mountain Town is the main accommodation and transit point for most people visiting Wulong. My suggestion is to stay in Fairy Mountain Town first and then return to the original town on your last night.
Whether you go to Tiankeng Difeng or Fairy Mountain, it is a must-pass place. There is a Chang'e Park, which is at a relatively high altitude and you can see the snow scenery.
The tourist service center is in Fairy Town, which is a transit point to the Tiankeng Difeng. It has food and accommodation, but eating is more troublesome and it takes a long time to cook. You need to arrange your itinerary reasonably.
The sky here is really low and the wind is very cool. No wonder so many people come here to escape the summer heat.
Smashing the bowl of wine here seems to be a close-up. After drinking a bowl of wine, the bowl is thrown away. Emmmm, I personally think it is not environmentally friendly.
There is a community called "Seven Colors" near the reception center. The houses in it are all blue in color, which looks very beautiful. It is said that many people have bought houses here to escape the summer heat.
Fairy Mountain Town boasts abundant tourism resources and a thriving tourism industry. With over a dozen bus stops within the town, transportation is convenient. I highly recommend the Fairy Mountain National Forest and the Three Natural Bridges Scenic Area, both of which are surprisingly beautiful. I didn't plan ahead, but simply made the decision to consult a friend. I was pleasantly surprised by the stunning scenery!
Prices in Xiannvshan Town are quite high; a bowl of mixed noodles cost 15 yuan. Most of the buildings in Xiannvshan Town are Western-style villas, many of which have been converted into bars, hostels, and restaurants, adding a unique touch to the town. From a distance, the buildings nestle against the mountainside, offering fresh air and abundant vegetation, making it a perfect place for wellness. I bought tickets in advance on China-TravelNote for 253 yuan per person, including admission to the Tiankeng (Tiansheng Three Bridges) and the Longshuixia Fault (Longshuixia Fault), as well as a transfer on the electric car. Tickets can be picked up outside the security checkpoint on the second floor of the Xiannvshan Town Visitor Center.
This mountain must exist in heaven, and fairies from heaven must have come down to earth.
A beautiful and pure place, a charming town, a village with the charm of oriental Switzerland, and a popular summer resort!
It's magnificent. I was really surprised by the huge crowds of people, cars and people. It's a very attractive scenic spot. It's much more beautiful than Wulong County.
The large triangle in my picture is the tourist center. It's about 40 minutes and 10 yuan from the train station. Most hotels are located around here, making it very convenient. You can buy tickets and take the bus from here to Tiankeng, Difeng, and Fairy Mountain Park.
On January 25, 2018, my family took a one-day trip to Wulong with China-TravelNote and arrived at Xiannvshan Town, a summer resort for Chongqing residents. Winter is the off-season for tourism, so we arrived at Xiannvshan Town for lunch at noon and then visited the Tiankeng Difeng Scenic Area in the afternoon.
The snow scene was beautiful and I was shocked!!! I highly recommend it. It was snowing lightly and everyone was playing in the snow.
Xiannvshan Town is located in the north-central part of Wulong County, on the north bank of the Wujiang River, 20km away from the county seat. It is a transit point to various scenic spots in the Wulong Karst Tourist Area, such as the Three Natural Bridges, Fairy Mountain, and Furong Cave.
The blue sky and white clouds, with houses nestled among the green hills and trees, were truly beautiful! It was the peak summer tourist season, and being a weekend, accommodations were double the usual rate. The street barbecue was delicious, but not cheap.
Xiannvshan Town, located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and in the north-central part of Wulong District, Chongqing, was established on June 20, 2002, and is a vibrant young town. Following a county-wide restructuring of townships in November 2004, the current Xiannvshan Town was formed by the merger of Wulong County's former Baiguo and Hetao Townships; Yangliu, Jingzhu, and Chaping Villages of Xiangkou Town; Sihe and Heshun Villages of Tukan Town; and Xiannv Village of Shuanghe Township.
The public services were excellent. My impression of Wulong was particularly impressive.
Tips:
1. Furong Cave is under maintenance and will reopen on May 1st. Cross-river speed skating is not available at this time.
2. If you're taking a bus from the Visitor Center to Impression Wulong, for example, for the 8 PM show, be sure to board the bus before 6:50 PM. There are only six bus trips to Impression Wulong Theater, and each way costs 10 yuan per person. Since the theater is open-air, it might rain, so free raincoats will be provided. I don't recommend buying blankets in the square; they're 60 yuan each. The quality is comparable to Taobao's 30 yuan with free shipping.
3. Tiankeng Village and Tiankeng are two scenic spots. Tiankeng is also called the Three Natural Bridges. Don't take the wrong bus. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the Tiankeng exit to the bus to the Difeng scenic spot. If you want to save energy, you can take a tour bus.
4. If you are traveling independently, buy your tickets for the attractions on Ctrip one day in advance. This can save you a few dollars.
We went there at the end of January and plan to go again in July this year to stay a few more days. It was beautiful!
Wulong County is a transit point for several major tourist attractions, with many European-style villas and hotels. However, the prices for accommodation and dining here are quite high, and there is not much to see.
Xiannvshan Town, located at an altitude of 1,300 meters, serves as a transfer station for travelers to the Three Natural Bridges and the Longshuixia Fissure. The tourist service center is located here, so many visitors to these locations choose to stay in Xiannvshan Town. The scenery is breathtaking, especially in autumn, when the ginkgo trees turn golden, paving the ground like a golden avenue. European-style buildings abound, making it resemble a small Swiss town.
Fairy Mountain Town has a very Russian style. Although we went there on New Year's Day, which is also the off-season, there were not many people and it was very deserted.
Visiting Fairy Town and Fairy Mountain in the dead of winter is definitely not the wisest choice, even if fairies really exist. However, there are no fairies, no snow-covered world of ice, and even no heating. All you get are long traffic jams, thick white fog, damp, freezing weather, occasional drizzles of freezing rain, and a chill wind that pierces your sweater to the bone. Of course, as a filming location for "Curse of the Golden Flower" and "Transformers 4," the Three Natural Bridges are still worth a visit. And the biggest surprise is finding any roadside stall overflowing with authentic Sichuan cuisine. P.S. Once winter is over, it should be wonderful to see wildflowers in spring and escape the heat in summer.
It belongs to Wulong, where the three natural bridges of Wulong and Longshui ground crack are located. The town is clean and sanitary, with good air, making it a suitable place for vacation.
Fairy Mountain Town, a densely packed villa district. But it was off-season, so the town was deserted. At night, the town was so empty I didn't dare go out. It was so empty I even dared to take photos on the street.
Fairy Mountain Town is the distribution center for tourism in Wulong, Chongqing. The town brings together comprehensive functions such as accommodation, catering, and entertainment. It is also a transportation hub for various Wulong scenic spots such as the Three Natural Bridges. Strolling around Fairy Mountain Town at night, the pyramid in the visitor center is as beautiful as any other scenic spot in Wulong after it is lit up.
This place should be very beautiful in autumn because the city is full of ginkgo trees.
It is a tourist town with many hotels and restaurants.
As I descended the main road, I spotted the legendary free double-decker bus that circles the town. It was brand new and comfortable. When I boarded, there were only three or five people on the top deck besides the driver. It's off-season, so the bus runs quite infrequently. The driver made a brief stop at the Fairy Town entrance and then headed straight for the Visitor Center. The sun was already shining brightly, which was a pleasant surprise.
On the way to Wulong Scenic Area, there is a small mountain town. Tall ginkgo trees on both sides of the road are two yellow lines in autumn.
A must-visit tourist center for a day trip to the Tiankeng Difeng
I found that Fairy Mountain Town is really a beautiful town with very distinctive houses.
The people in Fairy Mountain Town are really awesome! Everyone is so friendly. Although the area has developed into a tourist attraction, the supporting facilities haven't caught up yet. There are no buses or anything like that. Besides taking a taxi, you have to take the shuttle bus from the tourist reception center. The air in the mountains is really nice, though.
Friends who can afford it can try the local specialties of fish with fat intestines and bowls of mutton. However, fish with fat intestines is actually boiled fish with fat intestines (it seems to be the uniform price of 68 yuan per catty in the whole town). Bowls of mutton are large and plentiful and not expensive. It is recommended to eat bowls of mutton. Fish with fat intestines is not necessary!
Oh, and I recommend this humble snack shop across from Fairy Sky Street (no storefront, just a few tables and chairs). The Chongqing noodles made by the lady there are truly unforgettable! And she's so kind! If you go, be sure to tell her that the girl who ate there two days ago misses her! Thank you!
Because we went there during the holidays, many shops were closed. It would be better to go there on a normal day, the experience would be different.
It’s really fairy-like, the scenery is beautiful, and the air is great!
It really creates the feeling of a European town, with good food, accommodation and transportation
The scenic area should have an official shuttle bus at the train station, which will provide a lot of convenience for tourists.
Fairy Mountain Town is quite unique, with different architectural styles. You can go and have a look!
The temperature in Fairy Mountain Town is obviously lower than that at the foot of the mountain. During the off-season, it is always foggy and you can’t see anything. There are also fewer things to eat.
A very modern European town with beautiful environment and convenient dining.
As shown in the picture, it was too cold and the clothes I brought were not warm enough, so my wife and I actually ran to this place to buy socks and gloves.
There are many houses in the town, mostly small villas and places to eat and stay. The number of houses is almost catching up with that of a prefecture-level city in the north. It is densely packed, but it seems not crowded. The accommodation standard is around 100, and the food for two people is very good for 100. The fish here is worth eating, it melts in your mouth and is delicious!
The journey from Wulong County to Xiannvshan Town is like going from the foot of the mountain to the top. The town is very cool at night in the summer. After dinner, I wandered around the town with a cool breeze, which made it a summer resort.
There are many small villas or commercial houses in Zhenshan, some of which are European-style buildings and are quite distinctive.
Fairy Mountain Town is located halfway up the mountain, with Wulong County at the foot of the mountain and the National Forest Park on the top. It connects to scenic spots such as the Three Natural Bridges.
Fairy Town is relatively isolated from traffic, and large vehicles cannot drive in. The government is currently building a road and will soon develop it into a scenic area. The local customs are also very simple, and we had a farm meal there in the evening.
Fairy Town is a new town thriving on tourism. The first thing that caught my eye upon getting off the shuttle bus was a modern visitor reception center with a striking design. A large screen stood in the flat square, continuously playing clips from the Wulong show "Where Are We Going, Dad?" and promotional clips from the Wulong show "Day Day Up." The road was uniformly paved with asphalt. In the distance, nestled against the mountainside, a large, sprawling cluster of brand-new villas with yellow walls and reddish-brown roofs loomed. I was captivated by the sight of this vast expanse of villas. Although Wulong's fame has grown in recent years, the seasonal nature of its tourism industry and its lack of a solid reputation have resulted in a high vacancy rate for villas in this area. We arrived in Wulong in early June, and since it wasn't a weekend, the town seemed quite deserted. It's undeniable that hotels are lucrative during peak tourist season. While I'm not sure whether the villas are residential, tourist properties, or something else entirely, I still struggle to understand how the economic support provided by the Tiankeng Difeng and Fairy Mountain matches the current spending power of these villas.
Of course, from a development perspective, as Wulong's fame grows, these excellent tourism service facilities will have room for appreciation. For thousands of years, the mountains and rivers have been there, providing food for the people; now they support the people in another way.
When we arrived at the Fairy Mountain Town in Wulong, it started to drizzle. Being in the rain and fog, she looked even more graceful, and it also aroused our eager desire to lift the veil to catch a glimpse of her beauty.
It's a very beautiful place with European-style buildings, but it's not very popular because it's not the weekend and it's not summer vacation time, so it seems a bit empty.
Fairy Mountain Town is home to many beautiful villas, creating a feeling of being transported to a European-style town. Many Chongqing residents reportedly purchase properties here for their vacations. To accommodate this affordability, Fairy Mountain Town has built villas that, while luxurious on the outside, are typically small units within. Some Chongqing residents come here for leisure and vacation, renting out the properties as guesthouses or hotels when busy.
Fairy Mountain Town, a tourist town on the mountain, has good air and is suitable for vacation. There are prairie
The thick fog covering the mountain makes one feel like entering a fairyland, and the air is filled with the fragrance of grass and trees...
I think this place is so magical. It was cloudy when we set out, and then it turned sunny after we passed through the fog. Wow! I think it only happens in movies.
Very European town style, cool, very suitable for leisure
This place is really as everyone says, it has the style of a European town, and walking around it is very exotic.
Next to the tourist reception center is a small town with a large number of European-style buildings. If you have time, don’t miss this best photo-taking spot!
Fairy Mountain Town is completely in the style of a European town, with orderly buildings and clean and tidy streets, which is completely different from the appearance of ordinary towns.
There are really a lot of houses in the town, and they are all Western-style villas. The whole town has the style of a European town.
There are many newly built small houses in Fairy Town. Due to the special terrain advantages, they are staggered and form a beautiful landscape, which is worth a visit.
After the rain, the sky clears, and the Fairy Mountain Town, shrouded in mist and clouds, is bustling with tourists. The naturally formed Three Natural Bridges and the Longshui Gorge rift share a similar beauty. Mountain streams, creeks, and waterfalls punctuate the path with the pristine beauty of the karst landscape. A trip to Wulong is a marvelous journey through nature.
Remember this place: Fairy Town. It's completely renovated. Having visited nearly every ancient town around Chengdu, I've always been disappointed, mostly because they all looked artificial. But here, against the backdrop of snow, it's so beautiful! My friend and I were stunned, and it completely wiped away our travel fatigue.
I feel that the town has a very high positioning. It is full of small villas and there are very few farmhouses. This is not a town at all, it is a high-end sanatorium area. Losers like me are not worthy of it.
There are direct buses from downtown Chongqing to the Wulong Fairy Mountain Town Visitor Center, eliminating the need for transfers. Fairy Mountain Town is packed with hotels of all levels and offers a wide variety of delicious food options, making dining options very convenient. The visitor center is also easily accessible on foot.
Staying here is very convenient for going to scenic spots or watching Impression Wulong, so most tourists visiting Wulong stay here. The hotel accommodation price in the town center is 100-200 yuan/night; the hotel near the tourist center is 200-400 yuan/night. If your budget is sufficient, it should be appropriate to stay here.
When traveling, one thing you absolutely must enjoy is delicious food. Savoring local specialties is a truly delightful experience. Try dried tofu with okra, lamb (well-prepared lamb, no strong smell, and a rich, authentic flavor), tofu pudding, and more. If you have time, you can savor them all.
