In a tiankeng-shaped valley, there is a quiet and ancient courtyard. This is the world-renowned "Tianfu Official Posthouse".
This ancient post station in the Han and Tang Dynasty style is a famous attraction among the three bridges in Tiankeng and the filming location of the movie "Curse of the Golden Flower".
The newly built ancient post station is built in the style of the post stations in the Han and Tang dynasties. Even the blue bricks and gray tiles were specially made and shipped from other provinces.
The ancient post station consists of more than 10 houses, including the main house, courtyard, and wing rooms. The carvings on the beams, doors, and windows have been treated to look old.
Outside the post station, the blue bricks covered with black tiles, the exquisite carved beams and wooden walls make people feel as if they are in an ancient Tang Dynasty building.

After walking down a few steps along the plank road, we saw the very famous internet celebrity check-in spot "Tianfuguanyi" from afar, and everyone quickened their pace to rush to the best viewing platform.
Tianfu Posthouse became a hit after being used as a filming location in Zhang Yimou's "Curse of the Golden Flower," attracting numerous tourists. While the architectural style and feel of this posthouse are well-known, even though it's been used as a filming location, I was immediately drawn to take photos during my first visit.
Also known as "Tianfu Post Station," this uniquely situated post station in Wulong, Chongqing, has become a special tourist attraction. Its origins lie in a unique story. Built in the second year of the Tang Dynasty's Wude reign (619 AD), it was situated at a strategic point between Zuantianpu and Baiguopu. It served as a crucial post station for official communication between Fuzhou and Qianzhou in ancient times, but was later destroyed by war. The building is located at the foot of the Wulong Tiankeng, at the lower end of Qinglong Bridge, one of the three natural bridges. At the bottom of the pit lies a valley-level road, approximately five meters wide, resembling an ancient post road, suitable for wooden carts and horses. Houses lie alongside the road, their roofs shrouded by the abyss of Tianlong Bridge. Surrounded by rugged rocks and lush shrubs, it exudes a gloomy and eerie atmosphere. This location served as the filming location for Zhang Yimou's film "Curse of the Golden Flower."
Tianfu Official Posthouse is a wild scenic palace that has become famous overseas due to a famous director's movie "Curse of the Golden Flower". Now, the classic blockbuster "Transformers 4" which was filmed here, the recorded TV program "Where Are We Going, Dad", and the movie "Eternal Love" which will be released nationwide at 2 pm on August 3 this year have aroused more people's curiosity and interest in this place.
Entering the Yiguan, you'll find walls of wood and black tiles, each rising and falling in a well-organized, staggered pattern. The natural mountain scenery and the simple, unadorned architecture create a perfect balance, each complementing the other. In the past, "the fragrance of heaven permeated Chang'an, and the whole city was covered in golden armor." Today, fashionable women are capturing photos in this "golden armor."
The protagonist in "Curse of the Golden Flower" rode his horse to break out of the siege from here.
Climbing up to the high point on the left side of the official post station and looking down, it is so beautiful.
After getting out of the elevator and reaching the bottom of the tiankeng, walk along the path straight ahead and you will reach Tianfuguanyi. This is probably the most famous man-made building in the tiankeng. A must-see when visiting Wulong for aerial photography~~~~
Tianfu Official Posthouse is renowned worldwide. Since the Tang Dynasty, it has served as a prominent postal station on an official road connecting the nearby towns of Zuantianpu and Baiguopu, and further afield, Fuzhou and Qianzhou. It is said that it remains a vital route connecting villages near and far.
The quaint architecture is incredibly photogenic, looking great in any photo. Especially when paired with the lush greenery surrounding it, even in the mildest winter weather, it's easy to imagine how beautiful it must be in the summer when the vegetation is at its peak.
There is a TV wall in Tianfuguanyi that keeps showing "Where Are We Going, Dad?" on the big screen. I haven't watched this show and I'm not interested in it, so I didn't stop by. If you are interested, you can stop by and watch it~~
Keep walking forward and look back at the Tianlong Bridge above Tianfuguanyi. It’s so spectacular!
Attached is my travel notes of Wulong~~

The most famous spot in the tiankeng is the Tianfu Post Station, the filming location for the assassination scene in "Curse of the Golden Flower." That gripping scene is unforgettable. Originally built during the Tang Dynasty, the post station was funded by Zhang Yimou during the filming of the movie, and it is now a tourist attraction.
The camera can't capture the grandeur of the mountain and the depth of the cenote. Some of the cenotes are shaped like a square. At night, the cold mist freezes on the branches and leaves. As the temperature rises, it gradually melts and drips down from the top of the cenote, like rain. Some of them form the effect of a water curtain cave. In winter, the ground is basically moist and the air is very fresh.
Under the Tianlong Bridge is the Tianfu Official Posthouse. If you take the elevator down, you can directly overlook the Tianfu Official Posthouse. If you walk down from the other direction, you can't. But if you have time, you can climb halfway up to take pictures. Of course, we definitely didn't have the time, so it's a pity. I personally think that the bird's-eye view of the Tianfu Official Posthouse is absolutely classic and the best way to present this posthouse. Today's Tianfu Official Posthouse was built by Zhang Yimou at a huge expense in imitation of the posthouses of the Han and Tang Dynasties for the purpose of making a movie. Today, this Tianfu Official Posthouse still restores its history. It is surrounded by steep cliffs and rock walls. At the bottom of the cliff, an antique courtyard suddenly appears, deep and desolate but beautiful.
Amidst the majestic cemetery, a quaint courtyard with grey walls and grey tiles stands out, yet it feels perfectly at home. A quiet stroll through the area brings back memories of the bustling post stations of the Tang Dynasty. This culturally rich place is truly worth a visit.
After crossing the bridge and descending the winding steps, you'll find Wulong's iconic Tianfu Posthouse at the foot of the mountain. This was the only filming location for "Curse of the Golden Flower." It was this angle! The scene in the film where numerous men in black leap from the surrounding hilltops toward Tianfu Posthouse was truly breathtaking!
Pretending to take a promotional photo for the leader, Gong Li probably has never taken a photo from this angle before.
It's said this official post was only used for the filming of "Curse of the Golden Flower" and has never been used for anything else. This courtyard alone cost over 3 million yuan! The pillars were even shipped from faraway Russia. I give this place a thumbs-up from the bottom of my heart for its unique scenery.
The most popular Tianfu Official Inn has an ancient and elegant building with a moss-covered roof, which brings tourists back to the world of martial arts with swords and shadows.
Wulong's tourism industry is indeed quite well developed.
The filming location of Curse of the Golden Flower is in the Wulong Tiankeng. It is quite shocking when viewed from a distance. It needs to be well protected.
The weather was not very good when we went there, it was foggy, but overall it felt very good.
This building, constructed by the crew of "Curse of the Golden Flower," is particularly charming, juxtaposed with the first of the Three Natural Bridges. While it's supposedly an experience center, it's actually a silverware store.
A tranquil courtyard nestled in the Tiankeng Valley, a quaint and ancient setting, served as the filming location for the movie "Curse of the Golden Flower." It houses an ancient post station built in the Han and Tang dynasties. It's a must-see for visitors visiting the Three Natural Bridges, where the architecture seamlessly blends into the natural landscape.
This is one of the filming locations for the movie "Curse of the Golden Flower." If you enter the cemetery through Gate 1, you can walk down the cliff face and see the entire site from above. However, if you enter through Gate 2, you'll need to walk up to see the entire site from above.
Visited in November 2013. Apart from the courtyard left over from filming, there wasn't much else to see.
I fell in love with this place when I watched the movie "Curse of the Golden Flower". It is definitely worth a visit.
The place built by Lao Mouzi in the scenic area for filming is quite fitting and well integrated with the scenic area.
You can see Tianfuguanyi on the opposite side below.
This place is mainly known because of the movie.
There are costumes and props for taking photos
The scenery is truly breathtaking, a perfect reflection of nature's uncanny craftsmanship. Everything is so tranquil and beautiful (minus the noisy tourists). Sunlight gently pours down the valley, and water seeps down from the rock faces, creating a fairyland. It's like the residence of Liu Yifei's Little Dragon Girl, always shrouded in mist.
The scenery is really beautiful. The natural scenery is sacred.
Because of the movie "Curse of the Golden Flower", I am full of curiosity about this place.
We went down the mountain from the trail and did not get off the elevator. It was a pity that we did not take a panoramic view of this place. After walking in, we felt the long history of this courtyard. It is also the place where many movies were shot.
Tianfuguanyi is a spot that will surely impress anyone who has seen the movie. This kind of place is perfect for an ambush, both beautiful and dangerous.
After entering Tianfu Official Posthouse, movie clips are played in a loop on the small screen on the left.
It's OK, classical architecture, the location is also very good, you can come and have a look
The most favorite and most beautiful place in the entire Wulong Natural Three Bridges Scenic Area. It is famous for filming the movie "Ten Sides of Ambush". Overlooking the inn halfway up the mountain, it is a unique and beautiful place.
The post station was first built in the second year of the Wude period of the Tang Dynasty (619 AD). It is an antique courtyard with green tiles and gray walls. It was rebuilt at a cost of tens of millions when Zhang Yimou was filming the movie "Curse of the Golden Flower".
Tianfu Official Posthouse is located under the Tianlong Bridge. It was built at a huge cost. It is the place where the whole city is covered with golden armor and the scene where the black-clad assassin falls from the sky takes place. It is a courtyard house and movie clips are being played inside.
From the courtyard, the arch of Tianlong Bridge looks like a thumb. Further up the hill, there are stairs leading directly to the elevator from Entrance 1. From there, you can overlook Tianfuguanyi.
Chongqing is one of the few natural scenery worth visiting
This is an antique building. It was the Tianfu Official Posthouse built by Zhang Yimou when he was filming Curse of the Golden Flower. It was modeled after an ancient post station and has been completely preserved.
There is an imitation Tang Dynasty building in the valley of the first pit. Although it is a reconstruction, the deliberately old-fashioned building and the moss that has been nourished by the mountain spring on the bridge for many years make this official post station even more gloomy and desolate.
After reaching the bottom of the valley, there is dense vegetation and a very flat tourist road. There is a stream next to it, but the water is very green, as if it has not flowed for a long time.
The post station is basically a courtyard with a photo setting inside.
There was a movie shot here, but I haven't seen it... There are clips of the movie playing all the time...
Enter from Gate 1 and queue up to take the elevator down. There are 2 elevators in total, each one takes 2 minutes and 10 people per trip. After the elevator, you can walk for 5 minutes to see the scenic spot.
This was once a filming location for "Transformers 4" and "Curse of the Golden Flower." We sprinted, dodging the icicles falling from the melting hilltop, and finally, stumbling safely into the courtyard. No one could stop the martial arts fantasies that kept flowing through my mind.
Tianfuguan Inn is the inn in the movie Curse of the Golden Flower. The scene where the assassin slides down the mountain into the inn is really cool.
It's a pity that the official post station was rebuilt. The original appearance was destroyed hundreds of years ago.
The post station is located in Wulong Tiankeng, at the foot of Qinglong Bridge, one of the Three Natural Bridges. At the bottom of the pit lies a valley-level road, approximately 5 meters wide, reminiscent of an ancient post road, suitable for wooden carts and horses. Houses flank the road, their roofs shrouded by the abyss of the Tianlong Bridge. Surrounded by rugged rocks and lush shrubs, the station exudes a gloomy and eerie atmosphere. Tianfu Post Station became famous for the film "Curse of the Golden Flower." The scenic area has now transformed that overlooking angle into a scenic trail, allowing you to step back in time and experience the atmosphere of the film. It's truly a wonderful experience.
The scenic spot of Tianfuguanyi is where the filming of "Curse of the Golden Flower" was originally filmed. It is quite cold inside the cracks in the ground, so you need to add a thin jacket when wearing short sleeves.
Tianfu Official Posthouse, the filming location of "Curse of the Golden Flower", is truly beautiful when viewed from a high vantage point. Unfortunately, there are too many people and the tour guide will not let you climb up to see it.
This is a replica of an ancient courtyard. It was the filming location for Zhang Yimou's film "Curse of the Golden Flower," which also introduced Wulong's Three Natural Bridges to the public. This building is also one of the man-made structures in the scenic area that best blends in with the surrounding scenery. Due to the constant dripping of dew and spring water from the cave ceiling, the tiles of Tianfuguanyi are covered with grass and moss. The buildings retain their original layout from the film, and while the buildings themselves are not particularly distinctive, they blend seamlessly into the surrounding scenery.
Take the elevator down to the bottom of the tiankeng. You'll see the Tianfu Post Station, which is said to have existed there during the Tang Dynasty. This area was also a filming location for the movie "Curse of the Golden Flower." Although the building is a replica of an ancient structure, it complements the tiankeng's scenery beautifully.
Tianfu Official Posthouse is not very big and it doesn’t take much time to visit. If you like taking photos, you can climb to the walkway at the back and take photos from above, so you can capture the angle of the assassin flying down from above in the movie scene.
It is the filming location of Zhang Yimou's movie "Curse of the Golden Flower". You must take the sightseeing elevator from Entrance 1. You can take a panoramic view of Tianfuguanyi from above, which is really beautiful.
Beneath the Tianlong Bridge is the Tianfuguan Posthouse, a charming and ancient posthouse that, when viewed from above, resembles the secluded retreats of a sage from martial arts novels.
The post station, with its green tiles and gray walls, exudes a simple and elegant air. In a corner of the courtyard wall, a tall red wind-blown flag bears the words "Tianfu Official Post Station" in a flamboyant style.
All the buildings in the courtyard are made of wood, in the form of traditional courtyards, giving people a heavy and friendly atmosphere.
There is a post office inside where you can send postcards.
A magical stroke created by God, Transformers have visited here.
Tianfuguanyi is located within the Wulong Tiansheng Three Bridges Scenic Area. It was built specifically for the filming of Curse of the Golden Flower. This imitation courtyard house, imbued with ancient charm, seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape, becoming a signature feature of the Wulong Tiankeng Scenic Area. Highly recommended!
There were stairs all along the way, but thankfully it was all downhill. It's said to be the filming location for "House of Flying Daggers" and "Transformers," but it's really just that... You can rent period costumes for photos. But it was too crowded and there wasn't much to see.
It looks similar to the one in the movie, but Tiansheng Sanqiao is more spectacular.
It's pretty good, beautiful scenery, nature, I feel very good! The photo is too big to upload haha!!!
I thought it was a scenic spot created by the crew of Curse of the Golden Flower, but it turns out to be a real post station that dates back to the Tang Dynasty.
On January 25, 2018, my family visited the Three Natural Bridges in Wulong. We passed by the well-preserved Tianfu Inn, a prop from Zhang Yimou's film "Curse of the Golden Flower," which has become a Wulong landmark.
I can only say that it is not bad, and it is a place that you must pass by in the scenic area.
Tianfu Inn is the iconic attraction on the Tiansheng Three Bridges ticket. It is a pity that the original best viewing platform is no longer visible due to rock collapse.
Many people come here to admire its reputation. It rains as soon as they enter the valley.
I like it very much~~ There are places I want to visit again in my lifetime, including Fairy Mountain. I must stay there for a while and breathe oxygen. It is so comfortable.
This scenic spot, located within the Wulong Tiankeng Scenic Area, was created as part of a film directed by Zhang Yimou. It's now a beautiful feature of the scenic area and well worth a visit. Tourists take photos here.
The beautiful Wulong Tiankeng, the filming location of Transformers, and the Tianfuguan Inn in the valley are more like a hermit's residence in seclusion. It is very exciting to take pictures.
Spectacular! The wonders of nature, coupled with the post station built by Zhang Yimou, make it even more impressive.
This man-made attraction was one of the filming locations for Zhang Yimou's 2006 film "Curse of the Golden Flower." At the time, the road to Qinglong Bridge was partially closed due to a rock collapse above it, so the angle in the photo was almost deserted.
When I went there, Transformers 4 and Curse of the Golden Flower were playing on loop. These were the buildings, but they were actually quite empty, with nothing much inside.
There is only one building in this place. It is a movie shooting location so maybe everyone comes here because of its reputation. I went there during the National Day holiday and there were really a lot of people. In fact, the natural scenery is more beautiful if you walk towards the Black Dragon Bridge or somewhere else.
It is a small spot in the scenic area. When you enter, you will see movie clips shot here.
Zhang Yimou really knows how to choose a place. When you get off the elevator and turn around a big rock, you will see the Tianfuguanyi at the bottom of the pit.
After getting off the elevator and walking a short distance, you can see Tianfuguanyi hidden in the greenery.
I really like the green plants on the old eaves.
The filming location for "Curse of the Golden Flower" and "Transformers 4", a must-see in Wulong, it is definitely worth a visit. The magnificent natural scenery will take your breath away! You can get here by going down the steep mountain road in the huge cave.
You can only watch from a distance and not enter, believe me
The mottled old walls and the ancient design, although commercialized inside, were built by Director Zhang and were also the filming location for Curse of the Golden Flower, so I'll give it an extra star.
For the Emperor Gong
I just wanted to see the courtyard, everything else was fine.
The house is nice and quaint. I always thought it was a relic from ancient times, but it's actually a replica. There are vendors inside, and even golden clothes cost money to buy. It's a great place to send a few postcards to myself or friends. Looking up at the huge rock above me from the courtyard is a wonderful feeling.
The famous Tianfu Posthouse is hidden behind Tianlong Bridge, surrounded by steep cliffs and lush trees. I haven't seen "Curse of the Golden Flower," but the scenery reminds me of "Peach Blossom Spring." Although there are no peach blossoms here, it has a sense of "living in seclusion, unaware of the Han, Wei, and Jin dynasties." I imagine that the villages in other tiankengs also have this feeling of unknown age.
It is said that it cost 4 million to build, and the wood was said to be of good quality. The most expensive part was the transportation cost of the wood.
It's really amazing.
The fragrance of incense permeates Chang'an, and the whole city is covered with golden armor. When Zhang Yimou's Golden Armor was a hit, Wulong, as an important filming location, also became famous. The Tianfuguan Posthouse built for the movie melted the glorious Han and Tang dynasties into the mountains and rivers. The beautiful legend of Xuanquan Posthouse was dyed from yellow to green. The most beautiful fusion of nature and humanity is the most beautiful thing in the world.
A building in Wulong, said to be worth millions, gradually became a landmark building
In the pit courtyard under the Tianlong Bridge, there are quaint quadrangles with green tiles and gray walls. The lanterns hanging in front of the courtyard are inscribed with "Tianfu Official Posthouse".
This was the location for the filming of Zhang Yimou's film "Curse of the Golden Flower." The building was built specifically for this purpose and has since been preserved for visitors to visit.
It is also a reappearance of the historical legend of the Three Natural Bridges. It is said that there was indeed a post station here in ancient times, which was an important post station for the transmission of official information between ancient Fuzhou and Qianzhou.
From the entrance, take the elevator down to the base of the Three Natural Bridges. Several bamboo sedan chairs are parked side by side at the elevator exit, making it a great option for those with mobility issues. Descend the steps, walk down a winding staircase, and pass through the Tianlong Bridge archway to reach Tianfuguanyi.
From atop Tianlong Bridge, this post station, originally built during the Wude reign of the Tang Dynasty, sits perched beneath a vast abyss, offering a tranquil, serene, and eerie atmosphere. A closer look reveals the post station, with its mottled white walls and moss-covered gray tiles, nestled against a sheer cliff. Nearby, beneath Qinglong Bridge, grotesque rocks crisscross the landscape, and the surrounding area is shaded by shrubs and verdant trees. Glancing up, the surrounding area is filled with thick shade, a thick fog obscuring the sky, creating an ancient, chilling, and serene atmosphere.
No wonder Zhang Yimou arranged the assassination scene under the Three Tiansheng Bridges in "Curse of the Golden Flower" and spent a huge amount of money to restore and rebuild Tianfu Official Posthouse as a filming location. The gloomy and murderous atmosphere and the dark and eerie environment here really foster murderous intent.
The best camera position for photographing Tianfuguanyi was arranged by the scenic spot, where a professional photographer was arranged to take free "visit here" photos for tourists. I had no choice but to carry my tripod and look around for a suitable angle. Once I found a place, I would set up the camera and take a few photos in a hurry, for fear of blocking other tourists' view and movement.
Walking into Tianfu Official Posthouse is a completely different scene. It is no different from a regular tourist attraction. The atmosphere of the market is overwhelming. The four square courtyards, the main hall, the side halls, the east and west wings are all selling some souvenirs. Of course, they will not miss such good and popular publicity of "Curse of the Golden Flower" and "Transformers".
Not far from Tianfuguanyi, there is a steel Tyrannosaurus Rex kept in a small fence about 40 to 50 centimeters high. It is quite cute.
