Zengcuo'an

Zengcuo'an is known as "the most artistic village in the country". It used to be a simple fishing village, but now it has become a popular cultural and creative village.
The streets are a fusion of modern and ancient, and there are many unique shops on the street. You can eat, shop and take photos while walking, which is enough to keep you busy for a whole day. Food is another label here besides literature and art. The five streets and eighteen alleys of Zengcuo'an are full of various snacks that make people drool and a wide variety of fruits.
This is also a gathering place for characteristic homestays, including traditional courtyards, Baroque-style single-family villas, quaint and unique fishing village houses, and lively and unique youth hostels.
Zengcuo'an belongs to folk songs and bars late at night. Young people talk about their ideals in the bars, and recall the most unforgettable times with emotions and stories under the low voices of folk songs.

【Zengcuo'an】——Xiamen's artistic village

Zengcuo'an is a must-see attraction in Xiamen. It was once a simple fishing village. Now Zengcuo'an is crowded with people, whether it is day or night, and the snack street is very crowded. Many tourists come here from afar to taste the tempting food. Although these snacks can be seen all over the country, when you come to Xiamen, you must try the local snacks. I recommend two authentic Minnan restaurants to you. Their seafood is very fresh and affordable.

Chef's Restaurant:

The restaurant is located in the center of Zengcuo'an, and the waiter's attitude is also very good. I recommend the store's signature staple food [Seaweed Fried Rice], which contains seaweed, minced meat, mushrooms, and ham cubes. It tastes very fresh and fragrant! It's worth a try.

Wandering in the kitchen:

The restaurant is located at No. 469 Zengcuo'an. It is also very popular. I ordered a [Colorful Seafood Pot], which is slightly spicy and has a large portion. There are side dishes such as fresh shrimp, mussels, crabs, mantis shrimp, squid, clams, cauliflower, radish, etc. The ingredients are very fresh and go well with rice. Highly recommended!

When you go to Zengcuo'an, remember to try the big mangoes there. They are very sweet, very cheap, and delicious, but a little bloating (don't try if you are allergic to mangoes)

Zengcuo'an is a must-see for every tourist. Every street has its own history and story. In addition to food, there are many small shops, art shops, antique shops, and coffee shops in the alleys. You can bring back some memorable small items. It's not too much to eat and walk around for a whole day!

After visiting Zengcuo'an, you can go to the beach opposite to enjoy the sunset, it's beautiful! Take some beautiful photos by the way. You can really forget all your worries at the beach! Enjoy the coolness brought by the sea breeze at night. ~

【For accommodation, you can consider B&B】

I stayed at this B&B this time and I think it's pretty good. If you come to Xiamen, I recommend you stay at this B&B. The price is not expensive and the environment is clean and tidy.

A single-family white house with a strong design: Kiwi Ideal Homestay

Located in a quiet place in Zengcuo'an, Xiamen, it takes about ten minutes to walk to Huandao Road. It is very close to Xiamen University, Nanputuo, Gulangyu Island, Zhongshan Road and other places. It is very convenient to travel. There are many delicious snacks around, and it is crowded and lively. It takes only three to five minutes to walk. The brothers and sisters of the B&B are very enthusiastic. They helped me carry my luggage and introduced me to the tourist route.

Every room in their house is very nice. I recommend staying in Yutao's room. It has a bathtub, which is very convenient for bathing the baby. It also comes with a bathtub cover and bubble bath. The children have a lot of fun playing with bubbles.

Xiamen is a city suitable for careful appreciation. You cannot discover its beauty by rushing around. It is really nice to find a time when you are not so busy and have less time, invite three or five good friends, and immerse yourself in Xiamen.

In general, Zengcuo'an is a place worth visiting. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but the locals are also very friendly!

Looking forward to seeing you next time.

[Transportation] Zengcuo'an is a little far from other popular attractions, but public transportation is very convenient. We stayed at Huangcuo Road on our last day, so we took a taxi directly for 12 yuan. The driver would use the meter normally and there is only one ring road around the island, so there is no need to worry about detours. If the weather is good, you can run or ride a bike. There is a special marathon track on the ring road, so you don't have to worry about motor vehicles. There are also many small yellow cars and Mobikes. It is quite pleasant to ride a bike along the coast and feel the sea breeze.

【Food】As an inland city in the north, I envy the people of Xiamen, who have endless seafood and all kinds of authentic Taiwanese snacks. Although Zengcuo'an is a tourist attraction, the food is much better than the snack streets in Beijing, and there is one thing, you don't have to bargain because you can't bargain it down, although it is relatively not cheap. Highly recommended❤Wild Oyster King, 20 yuan for 3 large or 10 small ones, the price is more expensive than other stores, but this is the most delicious and freshest oysters I have eaten in the 6-day Xiamen trip. It is grilled and eaten in front of you. I am not satisfied after eating it. I still want to eat it. ❤Stinky tofu, although it smells ugly, it tastes crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the sauce tastes so good. ❤Boneless chicken feet, we chose two to buy. To be honest, 25 yuan a portion is really not much, but the taste of the two is really different. One of the sour and sweet ones is particularly delicious. The key is to chew directly without spitting out the bones. It's so happy. ❤Tusun jelly, I bought it at a random store, it's not as good as the one in Zhongshan Road, the Tusun jelly we bought from an old man in Zhongshan Road is really delicious, but unfortunately the old man doesn't have a sign so I can't recommend it. ❤Wuxie, there is also this Japanese dessert shop in Beijing but I don't have much impression of it. This time I came across it in Zengcuo'an and came in to rest for a while, ordered #Wuxie Ten Styles#, in short, it's really delicious + good-looking, matcha lovers said that this matcha is very good and has a strong taste, and the oatmeal and tea jelly are also very good, I don't like sweet and I said I like it very much.

[Others] Actually, I just want to recommend a store called [ROCK BONE]. We also stumbled upon this store by accident. The address is 282-6 Zengcuo'an. I have always liked handmade bags, but they are always expensive in Beijing. This time I saw this store and I immediately saw this caramel doctor bag. It is really cute. The store owner also thoughtfully engraved his name on the bag strap. There are also many customers in the store who DIY pet portraits on the bags. It is really cute. Friends who like handmade leather bags can go and have a look.

All in all, the food in Zengcuoan is unexpectedly delicious, but the paths are slanted so you have to rely on your sense of direction to find your way around, and which shops you come across also depends on luck. It's fun to stroll around slowly if you have plenty of time. We gave up on navigation because there were too many roads and the positioning was completely inaccurate.

Come and have a look. Stay at the inn in Zengcuo'an. The recommended pork tenderloin skewers are 10/3, which are delicious and tender. There is also 8 mother-in-law's grass jelly, which is cheap and delicious, 8 yuan a cup. You can pick other snacks to try, anyway, the price is 15, 20, 25 (the snacks in Gulangyu are also the same price, a little expensive) It is not recommended to waste too much money in Gulangyu, the food in Xiamen University is delicious and the price is normal.

I took a taxi early this morning! I arrived at Zengcuo'an at around 8 o'clock! There were more tourists! But some shops were not open yet! I ordered a piece of meat (6 yuan) at the stall and it was delicious😋 I continued to walk inside after eating! As a result, I took the wrong road! I looked up and unexpectedly found a pure white building with a touch of green

🍈A very nice hotel! It's called Hiair🔫. I was very surprised as soon as I walked in! I was thinking of staying in a hotel! It seems that this is fate! I've decided to sleep here! 😂Hahaha! I immediately went to ask the front desk! I was still very lucky. There was only one room left🌝It seems very good🔥I was still quite surprised! Such a price and such a room type! It's really good value for money! The service is also very good✨The environment is also great✨There were many people taking pictures as soon as I entered! The room is very clean and simple! The colors are soft and warm! Especially the mint green color is really in my heart! I can take pictures again📷Super happy😃I believe most girls will also like it❤️

Zengcuo'an is known as the most artistic fishing village. It is also one of the earliest origins of Xiamen homestays. In this small fishing village, there are many homestays.

Xiamen HiAir B&B is a single-family villa that can be discovered at a glance. It has a minimalist design and is simple and elegant. The white main color is decorated with mint green. The color is light but not lacking in warmth, creating a fresh feeling.

The room is just the right size, with a separate bathroom and large floor-to-ceiling windows for great lighting! It's perfect for those who love sunshine!

The homestay is located in Zengcuo'an, Xiamen. It is a peaceful place amidst the hustle and bustle. You can have a good sleep after a day of walking and it is convenient for travel.

If you come to Xiamen and don't want to go to popular attractions, why not go to Hiair, spend some time quietly! Feel the different experience brought by HiAir!

I went to Xiamen last weekend. I have to say it was hotter than I expected. I didn't use any of the thin coats I brought. Just wearing a T-shirt was enough. But the weather is quite changeable. Last time we went there, it suddenly rained heavily on the street. We were caught off guard. Remember to bring an umbrella with you when you go out🌂

My girlfriend and I stayed at a homestay in Zengcuo'an, mainly because we found that the transportation was quite convenient. There are direct buses to Xiamen University, Shapowei, and the Botanical Garden, which are ten minutes away by car. Back to Zengcuo'an, it is quite commercialized. There are many shops and people in the snack street. I often have to stop for a while after walking for a while. Maybe I am not patient. I recommend a few delicious restaurants, such as Ashin Thick Toast, Xu Xiaomei, Sweetheart Kate, and Class 2 of Grade 3. You can try them all...

The B&B should be the place that my girlfriend and I are most satisfied with. It is called Kiwi Ideal Home. It has a Nordic decoration style and is very neat and clean. They have two yards, both of which are very suitable for taking pictures. There are also singers performing at night, and the environment is very quiet. The bathtub and projector in the room are my favorite. It is really nice to watch a movie after taking a bath. At first, I was worried that the bathtub would not be clean, but I could see that it had been disinfected and cleaned. I felt relieved.

💰The price of the B&B is pretty good, about 300 per night~

Zengcuo'an is a beautiful place. There are performances at Hulishan Fort every day. Silver Beach is very close to Hulishan Fort. Zengcuo'an is very lively at night. There are many snacks, many restaurants, and many homestays. It's very beautiful. It's also very close to the beach. So Zengcuo'an in Xiamen is a very beautiful place. The young people on the bus are also very well-mannered. The elderly people gave up their seats, which touched us tourists.

The biggest surprise of this trip to Xiamen is the discovery of the legendary hidden travel menu - North Latitude 30 Degrees Art Space

I stayed at the Atour Hotel in Zengcuo'an, which is located in a villa park. The environment is very quiet in the bustling area. The art space happened to be in the same park, and I discovered it by chance.

The space is free and reservations must be made in advance by phone.

The whole space makes people feel relaxed, unlike some exhibition halls that seem depressing. It is said that the exhibits are all original designs, and there are also some old European and Eastern objects on display. Under the explanation of the staff, you can feel the full spirit of craftsmanship and creative soul.

After the visit, I drank tea and chatted with the staff in the garden, and was completely immersed in the literary and artistic atmosphere of Xiamen.

I heard that there are often cultural and artistic activities held here. I left my contact information and look forward to gathering here with a group of interesting people next time.

I have been to Xiamen several times, and this time I feel like I have truly entered this city and its culture.

How should I put it? When I came to Xiamen, I considered staying on Gulangyu Island. However, there are many B&Bs in Zengcuo'an. It is located at the back, so there will be no noise to affect your rest. It is also very convenient to go to many attractions along the beach, so I booked a stay at a HiAir B&B.

We took the airport bus to Zengcuo'an Station. There are many snacks in Zengcuo'an, including some traditional Xiamen-style shacha noodles, ginger duck, etc. In addition to these, there are snacks from all over the country. The seafood is also very good, delicious and plentiful.

There are many unexpected discoveries in Zengcuo'an Night Market. Going to various specialty shops and bars at night is a unique experience.

——

Take bus No. 47 from Xitouxia and arrive here in three stops. There are not many people around 9:40, but by noon, the narrow alleys are basically difficult to walk. There are all kinds of snacks here, and you can try them. My wife took me to several popular online stores along the way, such as Shrimp Eggs, Ba Po Po Shao Grass Jelly, Oyster Omelet, Ashin Thick Toast, etc. There are so many kinds of food, and they are all very delicious, making people linger. The alleys are connected in all directions, and there are local houses, connecting various downtown areas. The only drawback is that there are too few trash cans and the ground hygiene is not very good. Although garbage trucks pass by from time to time, everyone often crowds together to make way for them. It would be more practical to add more trash cans.

Zengcuo'an, the most artistic fishing village in China, is the abbreviation of "Zengcuo'an Cultural and Creative Village". Also known as "Zengli", "Zengjiawo" and "Zengjiawan", it is located in the southeast of Xiamen Island. It has the grass of Tu'erling, the stones of Taimu Mountain, and the reefs of the volcanic island. It integrates nature and culture. It has a history of more than 800 years. There are many snacks in the snack street here, and many snacks are not available in other cities.

On the overpass leading to Zengcuo'an, a kind passerby helped us take my favorite photo of this trip. After 10 years of anticipation, we finally realized our dream of Xiamen. As the sun sets, my mood is particularly beautiful. I hope to always be with you, watching the sunrise and sunset, seeing through the scenery, and watching the long flow of water. Many tourists come here from far away, all wanting to taste the tempting food. In addition to food, there are many small shops, literary spots, antique shops, and coffee shops in the alleys, where you can take some souvenirs back.

I have been to Xiamen 5 times. Of course I have to eat delicious food when I go to Zengcuo'an! I have compiled a list of Zengcuo'an tips for everyone! I hope it will be helpful to everyone!

【Food】

Huang Zehe Peanut Soup

Huang Zehe's peanut soup is sweet but not greasy, very suitable for girls who love sweets. (Recommendations: peanut soup with egg and meat dumplings, fried five-spice oysters)

「阿信厚吐司」

The boss is a veteran Mayday fan, and there are many messages from Mayday fans in the store. His toast is also very good. Except for holidays when it is a bit slow to make, there is nothing wrong with it (recommended: Deluxe Supreme Thick Toast Ice Cream Thick Toast)

「第七铺」

Freshly baked coconut cakes are crispy and delicious. You can buy some as gifts. There are various gift boxes and family packs. (Recommended: Freshly baked coconut cake nougat)

"Chef's Restaurant"

The restaurant is located in the center of Zengcuo'an, and the waiter's attitude is also very good. (Recommendation: The store's signature staple food [Seaweed Fried Rice], which contains seaweed, minced meat, mushrooms, and ham cubes, tastes very fresh and fragrant!)

【Accommodation】

I would like to recommend a homestay where I often stayed when I came to Xiamen. It is clean and hygienic, and has a high cost-effectiveness ratio. The most important thing when traveling is to stay comfortably!

Their home is located in Zengcuo'an Snack Street, close to the Ring Island Road, and only three to five minutes' walk to the beach.

The Japanese minimalist design and the characteristic duplex loft layout, with one bed upstairs and one downstairs, can accommodate 4-5 people. It is very cost-effective! It is very suitable for a family trip!

The fresh and simple decoration in the room makes people feel peaceful and comfortable. Each room has an independent bathroom, providing people with absolutely private space. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the room absorb enough sunlight, and various small ornaments are very carefully made. The wide-screen projector is a big plus. When you come back to the B&B tired from going out, you can lie on the bed and watch a movie on the super large screen, which is very comfortable.

In short, there are still many interesting shops in Zengcuo'an, waiting for everyone to discover! Find some free time, meet up with a few friends, and go!

I wish you all have fun!

Zengcuoan - the most beautiful fishing village in Xiamen, an unexpected beauty.

Having come to Xiamen five times, of course I want to try the local snacks. Here I recommend two authentic Minnan restaurants in Zengcuoan to you. Their seafood is very fresh and most importantly, relatively affordable.

"Chef's Restaurant"

The restaurant is located in the center of Zengcuo'an, and the waiter's attitude is also very good. I recommend the store's signature staple food [Seaweed Fried Rice], which contains seaweed, minced meat, mushrooms, and ham cubes. It tastes very fresh and fragrant! It's worth a try.

"Wandering in the Kitchen"

The restaurant is located at No. 469 Zengcuo'an. It is also very popular. I ordered a [Colorful Seafood Pot], which is slightly spicy and has a large portion. There are side dishes such as fresh shrimp, mussels, crabs, mantis shrimp, squid, clams, cauliflower, radish, etc. The ingredients are very fresh and go well with rice.

Zengcuo'an is like Gulangyu Island, a must-see for every tourist. Every street has its own history and story. There is nothing you can't eat in Zengcuo'an. After filling your stomach, start to walk around. In addition to food, there are many small shops, literary spots, antique shops, and coffee shops in the alleys. You can bring back some memorable small items.

After visiting Zengcuo'an, you can go to the opposite Ring Island Road to enjoy the sunset, which is very beautiful! Take some beautiful photos by the way. Or you can take a bicycle for a stroll and feel the sea breeze. Different feelings and surprises are all in Zengcuo'an!

【For accommodation, you can consider B&B】

I stayed at this B&B this time and I think it's pretty good. If you come to Xiamen, I recommend you to stay at this B&B. The price is not expensive, the environment is clean and tidy, and it is a B&B with a relatively high cost performance.

"Three Xiamen University Students, Kiwi Courtyard No. 2"

Hidden in Zengcuoan Snack Street, it is only a 5-minute walk to the snack street. It avoids the hustle and bustle of the snack street and is as quiet as being in the mountains. When you draw the curtains, you will have your own little world.

The overall style is simple and Nordic, and it provides a photo-taking place for friends who like Instagram-style photos. Every shot is a beautiful scene! The first floor is a photo-taking courtyard, the third floor is a sky garden, and there is a 100-square-meter open-air terrace on the roof. Standing on the white steps of the terrace, holding the railing, from bottom to top, press the shutter, and you will see a beautiful scenery.

The design of each room is very attentive. The tables, chairs and lamps are all modern and simple, giving people a relaxing and comfortable feeling. The lighting and ventilation are good, providing a comfortable sleeping experience.

The front desk guy is very good, enthusiastic and willing to provide all kinds of help.

The 100-square-meter terrace, wide-format projector, bathtub, floor-to-ceiling windows, sunlight, WiFi, and music all make your trip a more comfortable place to stay and add to your unforgettable memories.

If you come to Xiamen, you must come to this small fishing village in the city to experience it, calm down and enjoy every moment of the quiet time, and feel the different Zengcuoan. It will definitely bring you a different kind of freshness.

In fact, it is just a snack street and has nothing to do with literature and art. Zengcuoan is a paradise for foodies.

By Bo Xianyang |

Follow the crowd into Zengcuo'an, and you will see a lot of streets and alleys inside. From beginning to end, it is full of snacks. The prices are very reasonable and the variety is also very complete. This is also one of the must-visit places in Xiamen.

It is a very happy thing for me to go shopping and eat with a few close friends and experience the different night life of Xiamen. There are many literary youths gathered here. If you are also a literary youth, you must not miss it.

By Tang Xiaoluo |

I only knew the word "厝" after I got to know Xiamen. It means village.

So Zengcuoan is the former Zengcun.

This village has now become a street of snacks in Xiamen, just like there are in every city.

As soon as the bus arrived at Zengcuoan, there were a lot of tourists getting on and off, which shows that many people choose to live here because it is also a relatively concentrated homestay area.

In Zengcuo'an, you can eat snacks and buy local specialties. If it is one of the must-see attractions in Xiamen, I really feel that there is nothing to see or eat. Snacks are available in many places, and the village does not look like a former fishing village at all. There are only commercial shops, but maybe it is just like the Muslim Street in Xi'an. You have to go there, but if you go there, you don't know what to see.

Zengcuo'an, as the introduction says, is the most artistic fishing village in China. I really didn't understand any of the words in the introduction.

By Panda Slow Travel |

Zengcuoan is actually a village society, with all kinds of shops in the alleys that extend in all directions. In fact, to put it bluntly, there is not much difference between this place and the commercial streets of various ancient towns and cities, except that it has a little more Xiamen flavor and more southern Fujian flavor.

Zengcuo'an is even more attractive under the night sky. It cannot be visited as a scenic spot, but it is a must-go place for everyone coming to Xiamen. It is best to stroll around in your spare time. The delicious snacks everywhere in Zengcuo'an taste just so-so, but it can also make people very happy to eat because there are so many choices and you can satisfy your appetite.

Zengcuoan wakes up relatively late during the day, and the streets are still very quiet around ten o'clock.

By Yi Xiaoxia |

Zengcuo'an is a small fishing village surrounded by mountains and rivers. It is said to have a history of 800 years. The red brick houses and Nanyang-style "Fangzilou" that can be seen everywhere reveal an ancient temperament. Xiamen calls foreigners "Fangzi", so these houses are also called Fanzilou. There are many literary shops in the village. It should be quite nice to make a pot of coffee, read a good book, and enjoy the feeling of slow life.

We went to Zengcuo'an this time purely to see the sea, so we didn't spend too much time shopping. I really envy the residents here, who can see the sea as soon as they go out. In the dead of night, they fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves, weaving dreams about the sea.

The sun was about to set, and it wasn't hot at all. We walked on the beach with our shoes in hand, and our feet were wrapped in the soft sand. It was so happy. It has been more than a year since I last watched the sea. This time I must stare at it and watch it to my heart's content.

The waves are tireless, washing the footprints on the beach over and over again, and can always smooth everything out in an instant. Throw your worries into the sea, and take them all away...

There are many Xiamen snacks in Zengcuoan. Many people go directly from the overpass to the alley opposite to buy food after watching the sea. I feel tired when I see the crowded scene. Anyway, snack streets everywhere are similar, so I decided to ride a bicycle back to Mao Street to eat, where there are fewer people, quieter, and no need to queue.

Walking into Zengcuo'an gave me the feeling of walking into the ancient city of Lijiang, walking into the souvenir specialty street in front of the Ruins of St. Paul's. The whole street is full of food and souvenirs, and it is very lively.

There are many people selling pearls here. You can open the clams yourself, or buy ready-made bracelets and necklaces. There are also pearl powder and fruit tea. The fruit tea is free to taste and tastes good. Travelers who come to Zengcuoan may wish to try it.

Zengcuo'an, Little Gulangyu Island, has been transformed into a food street in recent years. There are many small roads and a food shop every few steps. Why do I call it Little Gulangyu Island? Because all the popular restaurants on Gulangyu Island are here. Many chain stores have opened more than one store here. Although it has been shaped into a must-see attraction in Xiamen in recent years, I personally think that if you don't have any demand for food, it doesn't matter whether you come here or not....

Like the iconic snack streets of Chongqing Ciqikou, Chengdu Jinli, Yangzhou Guandong Street, Suzhou Qili Shantang, and Shanghai Chenghuang Temple, there are a wide variety of delicious foods and it is extremely lively.

There are many interesting small bars at night. If you like this kind of literary atmosphere, you can stay here. It is also quite convenient for travel. The picture below is a MuJi-style homestay where I stayed. I personally prefer the simple and clean style of the three Xiamen University homes, and the front desk service is also very enthusiastic.

The small shops full of literary and artistic atmosphere, the fragrant roadside snacks, the soft beach, and the gentle sea breeze are all waving to me.

Zengcuo'an was originally a small fishing village, but now it has been completely commercialized. It is divided into the front and back areas. The front area has various small shops, snacks and gadgets, and people open clams to get pearls. Especially in the evening, the night market is bustling, but the road is very clean and tourists don't litter. The back area is a place where every inch of land is worth a lot of money. Each homestay is not very big, but each has its own style and exudes its own unique temperament.

From the earliest fishing village to the current large-scale characteristic street block, Zengcuo'an is lively but not noisy. Strolling through the five streets and eighteen alleys of Zengcuo'an, colorful red brick ancient houses and Western-style coffee shops are side by side, and all kinds of fresh and literary atmosphere are overwhelming.

Many of the popular online stores that have flooded your social media are hidden here, such as the Church of the Unhappy Couple, Little Pig Looking for Meat, and Instant Noodle Canteen...

After walking around the periphery, the scenery is quite good.

Walking into the village, I felt bad. How could this be a small fishing village? It was just a snack street that you can find everywhere! The food was nothing special. I was so disappointed!

I accidentally walked into a quiet alley, and it felt great for a short while. Xuduyun unmanned store, ATU film photography, Xitang Courtyard... all of them are pretty good

What impressed me most was the fake unmanned store. There was no owner in the store, and I felt very comfortable. There was a mailbox for solving problems, and I could leave messages. I sat there for most of the day, and no one came to chase me away, haha. . .

After looking at the posters in the store, it seems that you can experience being a store owner yourself and stay overnight. It's quite interesting!

This trip has been arranged. Next time I come, I must experience it!

This is simply a paradise for us young people to eat, drink and have fun. Under the cover of night, all the small shops have turned on the lights, which looks particularly beautiful. However, Zengcuo'an during the day is not as bright and bustling as at night. Although there are many people and it is lively, it gives people a different feeling. Every alley is a beautiful scenery, and every small shop has its own unique design style. Specifically, most of them are based on the theme of small freshness. Many shops have some background walls for taking pictures at the door, and provide some small props for taking pictures, which are suitable for girlfriends and young couples in love.

There is a small shop in Zengcuoan that specializes in selling handmade dried flowers and everlasting flowers. I especially like beautiful flowers. After arriving at the shop, I couldn't move my feet and didn't want to go out. However, my favorite is the background wall at the entrance of Chen Guanxi Tea Shop, which is combined with the small props signs they provide. Although there seem to be many colors, they all match well and are really beautiful.

Zengcuo'an is full of shops selling local snacks, and it is very lively. We felt it when we were looking for an inn. We found a small shop with seats and ordered two bowls of noodles and a basket of crab roe buns. The prices in the snack street are generally very high, and these things cost a total of 84 yuan.

Zengcuo'an is the most lively at night. The innkeeper chose a relatively quiet room for us, but we could still hear the noisy hawking outside and the music in the bar.

We walked along the main street from beginning to end and bought a lot of things: fire ginseng, mango, oyster omelette, coconut milk jelly, fried coconut milk... We spent a lot of money, but most of them were a rip-off, especially the fire ginseng, which was 10 yuan each, and had a lot of seeds and was hard to chew. I don't know if I bought the wrong ones or if they were just like that. Only the oyster omelette and coconut milk jelly were better.

We thought it would be easy to find a place to eat breakfast in such a busy place like Zengcuo'an, but we were surprised. More than 90% of the shops on the street were closed. Compared with Zengcuo'an at night, the silence was a bit uncomfortable. What surprised us even more was that there was almost no garbage on the ground! It's hard to associate it with a busy street selling all kinds of snacks and cooked food! At this moment, my good impression of this city soared.

It is very lively here, with food stalls everywhere. To be honest, the commercial atmosphere is a bit strong, but as the saying goes, you should go shopping when you are here! After all, there are countless exciting shops waiting for you to explore, and there may be unexpected surprises waiting for you! Forget your worries, immerse yourself in this vibrant atmosphere, and enjoy this carnival time!

It's a place you'll visit when you go to Xiamen. It's very lively, but now the commercial atmosphere is very strong. There used to be many diary stores and letter-writing stores, but now they are nowhere to be seen.

Although many people say Zengcuo'an is not worth visiting, just like us locals don't think that the Koi and Kuanzhai Alleys in Chengdu are that interesting, but as a foreigner who comes here for the first time, I will still go to these Internet celebrity attractions at least once. There are many Internet celebrity snacks, and it's also nice to visit the night market.

Zengcuoan Cultural and Creative Village, which now serves as a scenic spot, is only a small part of the Zengcuoan community. The scenic area is full of homestays, restaurants, bars, and snack stalls. It is more lively at night than during the day and is more suitable for young people.

Zengcuo'an is known as one of the most beautiful fishing villages in the country and is a must-visit place when you come to Xiamen. There are many homestay hotels, specialty shops, delicious and fun things here. Although it is commercially lively, the alleys are very quiet. It is very comfortable to stroll around when there are not many people. It is easy to spend a whole day. There are also many things to buy, all kinds of souvenirs, pastries, biscuits, preserved fruits and meat can be chosen. You can taste them one by one, and you will feel full before you decide which one to buy. There is also a Cat Street Cafe here, which is suitable for spending a leisurely afternoon.

By South of the South |

The whole screen is filled with descriptions of Zengcuo'an as a small, literary fishing village, a must-visit for its fresh and simple style, so much so that we came here as our first stop. But the facts will tell you that if you want to look for literature and art, you can go to Xiamen University; if you want to pursue the distance and the sea, you can go to the Ring Island Road; but if you come here, you will only find snacks carved out of the same mold, "local specialties" that can be found all over China, and all kinds of commercialization.

The wheel cake here is 10 yuan each, which is not very special. There are many copycat stores here, such as the famous chain store 1980 Shao Rou Zong. Here you can find stores like 1983 or 1984. I can tolerate the copycat name, but what does it mean that the food is not delicious and is sold at such a high price? ̄へ ̄

Some of the hats here are pretty good-looking, but they are good-looking. If you buy one, congratulations, you will find that the streets are full of hats of similar styles~~~╭(╯^╰)╮, so we originally planned to spend a few hours here, but in the end we only spent about an hour, and that's including the time for eating. If I were to choose, I would pass this place next time. This is a place that is only suitable for literature and art in my mind. So I really suspect that most of the comments that strongly recommend coming here are the owners of the B&Bs here, otherwise why are the pictures of so many comments all about B&Bs, right?

By Jumping Zorro |

I went there twice, mainly for food. The whole Zengcuo'an feels like a big night market, with snacks, figurines, bars, and homestays. People who like lively places may be very happy, but those who like quiet places may find it very noisy.

By Gibi Sauce |

The food at Zengcuo'an Food Street is no different from the snacks at ordinary food festivals. The food quality and taste are average, the hygiene is not good, and the price is expensive. In short, it is dirty and messy, not recommended!

I ordered ginger duck. It is said to be a Xiamen specialty, but it is also ginger duck, but this one is too unpalatable. The duck is not delicious, but just greasy and meaty.

Internet celebrity dessert - Ba Po Po's Herbal Grass Jelly is a failure

It’s very cheap, only 7 yuan, but it’s really not worth 7 yuan.

Below is a large piece of grass jelly with a slightly hard texture.

Then you can choose milk tea or honey water and pour it on the grass jelly. Then sprinkle a bag of crushed peanuts or something like that.

The taste is very separate, the grass jelly is grass jelly, the milk tea is milk tea, and the peanuts are peanuts. It feels exactly the same as if you eat these three things separately and it is very monotonous.

——-Lin’s fish balls are average

8 meatballs for 20 yuan. They say it's made of whole fish, but I can taste the flour! ! The soup is just so-so, just boiled water with salt and oil, not as good as Weixin.

By John Xie |

You can go in along the small path. Like most domestic commercial streets, they all sell local snacks, relying on the huge flow of people and the crowd effect. Just take a quick look. A wide variety of snacks are placed at the door of the store, always arousing the appetite of passers-by. There are many homestays with different styles on various side roads. From time to time, you can see various young ladies and young men coming out of them. I guess they all come here to find their inner literary and artistic feelings.

Zengcuo'an, the most artistic fishing village in China, is located in the southeast of Xiamen Island. It has the grass of Tu'erling, the stones of Taimu Mountain, and the reefs of the volcanic island. It integrates nature and humanities. It has a history of more than 800 years. As a scenic spot, Zengcuo'an Cultural and Creative Village only occupies 0.33 square kilometers. Walking in Zengcuo'an, you can see traces left by overseas Chinese everywhere. Architecture is the most intuitive display. Overseas Chinese built a large number of red brick ancient houses and Nanyang-style "Fangzilou" in those days, which are still preserved today. Large residential complexes even integrate two architectural styles into one: the roofs of the first two "falls" of the ancient buildings are saddle ridges or swallowtail ridges, and the last "fall" is a Nanyang-style "Fangzilou". Today, these overseas Chinese houses are inhabited and managed by the descendants or relatives of overseas Chinese. There are many cultural and creative shops in Zengcuo'an.

This is a food town developed after Gulangyu Island. The whole town is not very big, it is in the shape of a chessboard. There are all kinds of seafood and delicacies inside. I love food and seafood stalls. I ate from afternoon to night. I was drunk in the bar before my friends dragged me back to the hotel from the ancient town. It was an unforgettable trip to the ancient town. Haha

I suggest staying in Zengcuo'an for one night. Each homestay has its own charm. At night, you can also go to see the night view and buy some snacks. But be careful, there are many bad ones. I strongly recommend the mango cup, which is sweet in every store. There is also an oyster omelet that you have to queue up for. There are photos of Xiaozhu and Da S on the stall.

Zengcuoan is not very big, and you can finish visiting it in less than half a day. But it is very lively here, with all kinds of snacks, seafood, hawking sounds, and many tourists, making this small fishing village so lively.

Zengcuoan Lin's Shacha Noodles - Seafood specialty. When you enter the store, you can buy some special snacks from southern Fujian. Opposite the store is the seafood self-service restaurant with clear prices. However, the special offer for two people on Dianping is 138 yuan, which is super affordable. As a local, this restaurant will entertain friends. [Strong] Steamed golden pomfret, the fish meat has no earthy smell and is delicious. Stir-fried fresh meat is highly recommended. How can the chef make the dishes so delicious? Sour soup frog, very good with rice. Overall, I think the cost performance is very high! ! Recommended!

Before I went there, my friends told me that they didn't recommend it very much, saying that it was full of snacks, and compared it to Jinli in Chengdu. After all, there is a Wuhou Temple next door to our Jinli. Zengcuo'an is close to the sea, but it is not a large or long beach, and you have to walk on a flyover and cross a main road to get out of the village.

As for food, there are many in the old city near Zhongshan Road and the Eight Markets. As for accommodation, there are indeed some B&Bs and hotels that look good on the road, and the graffiti on the shops is also very nice, or go a little further to the outskirts of Zengcuo'an, where Atour has opened a store. However, as far as the core area of Zengcuo'an is concerned, it is too compact. Even if you go there early in the morning when there are not many people, it feels too cramped. Many hotels are still selling snacks on this side, and they open a small door to stay upstairs. I don't know if it will be noisy at night.

From the perspective of the village, it is quite impressive to have created such popularity. However, as a tourist, my personal evaluation is indeed average.

By Min t |

I went there during the May Day holiday. There were so many people that I couldn't get out for more than 2 hours. The street was full of food. There were also people selling pineapple cakes and nougat. You can go to the back to buy them, so you don't have to pick up so many. You can try all you can eat on this street. Every store has tastings.

By Chu Yunfei QQ |

When you walk in, you will find that it is not just one street, but a large area. There are not only local snacks, but also Cantonese snacks and Taiwanese traditional snacks. You can eat while walking and enjoy the street view. In short, it is not bad. Eating here is different from eating in Zhongshan Road. It is too formal over there, and here are all small folk shops, which are different in interest.

It's another place for shopping and eating. The taxi driver told me that it used to be a fishing village, but has developed into a homestay in recent years. It's not far from Huandao South Road and Xiamen University. During the peak tourist season, there are many people on the bus, so it's not convenient to take a taxi and there are traffic jams.

There were too many people on holidays, and 98% of the vendors were selling food. I really didn't like the vendors' shouting, and I didn't dare to challenge the seafood and fruits displayed on the stalls. In addition, there were almost no toilets, so I really admire those who can come here to play for a day.

There are too many places like this emerging now, like Ciqikou in Chongqing, with narrow alleys, bluestone roads, a wide range of goods, and a variety of snacks. Each place is more or less the same. Most of the people who come here are young people born in the 1990s. It is they who have created many popular check-in spots. Due to their age, it is really difficult to feel its literary and artistic atmosphere. Just take a quick look and visit it!

Zengcuo'an is very big, and it sells all kinds of Xiamen specialties. I recommend the dried mango in Zengcuo'an, 25 yuan/500g. I brought back a few bags, and my colleagues all thought it tasted good. There are also many souvenir shops in Zengcuo'an, selling refrigerator magnets in many styles, 10 yuan each, and buy 5 and get one free, which is suitable for taking back as souvenirs.

It's a dirty and messy place where a group of outsiders do business and then cheat the outsiders who come to visit.

By Not quite a goddess |

This is a place I really don't recommend. It doesn't have any special features. It's just a snack street. There are very few types of snacks. In fact, walking five meters is the same as walking the whole way. Because the snacks are all barbecue, grilled squid, stinky tofu, oyster omelet, grilled oysters, fruits, etc. These things are just repeated over and over again. And the prices are not cheap, stinky tofu is 15 yuan per serving. Barbecue is 13 yuan per skewer, and grilled squid is 20-25. Anyway, the prices feel more expensive than in Japan, and they are not delicious. The handicrafts sold are also unremarkable, and it feels like you can buy them all over the country. Anyway, I've been there once, and I won't want to go there a second time.

The road surface of Zengcuo'an is a bumpy stone road. The suitcase cannot be dragged. I am really worried that the wheels of my suitcase will be stuck and broken. It is a long street and I am exhausted. Mainly because it is close to the beach, it is more convenient for children to play. I am not particularly interested in various snacks. I think it is best to take children out to eat healthy and clean staple food and vegetables. Zengcuo'an is just a snack street. Except for the crowds, I don't think there is anything special about it. Since you are here, you should make the best of it. Just bear with it. The bus here in Zengcuo'an is really very convenient. I took the tools for playing with sand and took the children to the nearby area to continue playing with sand. The children were happy and I was relieved. At this time, Zengcuo'an was already crowded with people, and it was still impossible to squeeze. The overpass for crossing the road also began to be controlled, and you can only go in one direction. You have to go through the underground passage in the other direction. There are also many people on the beach opposite Zengcuo'an, and there is a lot of garbage on the beach. The crowded people made me a little irritable. I think there will be a lot of people visiting nearby attractions, but since I don’t want to see crowds, I plan not to go.

Zengcuoan was originally a fishing village by the sea. The men fished and the women farmed. When the men were fishing, the women stayed at home to farm and take care of the children. It has only recently developed into a snack street. Zengcuoan is quite large. Basically, you can find all the popular snacks here. However, I think it is not much different from Xi'an Muslim Street and Luoyang Lijingmen. In addition to the common big squid, old Changsha stinky tofu, and Taiwan large intestine wrapped with small intestine, some local characteristics are added. We mainly ate some popular snacks in Xiamen.
