Located in the center of Lanzhou, it is over 1,500 to 1,700 meters above sea level. It is listed as one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Lanzhou" with its "White Pagoda Mountain Range". In the 13th year of the Zhengtong reign of the Ming Dynasty (1448), Liu Yongcheng, the eunuch who guarded Gansu, rebuilt the White Pagoda Zen Temple on the site of the ancient White Pagoda Temple. From the 55th to the 61st year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1716-1722), Zhuoqi, the governor of Gansu, rebuilt the Ci'en Temple (White Pagoda Temple). After years of construction, an ancient building complex centered on the White Pagoda Temple was formed. Together with the Nine-bend Yellow River and the century-old Zhongshan Iron Bridge, it constitutes the iconic cultural landscape of Lanzhou City.

There is a great waterfall in Baitashan Park, where you can walk through it and take pictures. There are many elderly people in the park who have a "choir". Each of them is good at an instrument, and then they play chords together and sing in this pleasant afternoon. There are beautiful albizzia flowers, and you can see Lanzhou with its tall buildings from the mountain.

Walking across Zhongshan Bridge from Lanzhou city to the north bank of the Yellow River is Baitashan Park, which is open to the public and does not require tickets. Many retired men and women relax in it, playing music, singing and dancing.

Baita Mountain Park is built on the mountain. You can climb up the steps or take a cable car to overlook the panoramic view and night view of Lanzhou city.

On the second day of arriving in Lanzhou, I finally persuaded my wife, who doesn't like climbing mountains, to climb Baita Mountain with me. There are white pagodas in many places, such as my hometown and Lanzhou. There may be white pagodas wherever there are rivers. The meaning is probably the same as "the pagoda suppresses the river monster". Baita Mountain Park is just opposite Zhongshan Bridge. After crossing the bridge, there is a direct overpass to Baita Mountain Park. Baita Mountain Park is a municipal park for the people of Lanzhou. There is no entrance fee, and everyone can go up the mountain to play.



From the mountain, you can see the distant view of the Yellow River and the whole picture of Lanzhou City. When you climb Baita Mountain, you will be amazed at the narrowness of Lanzhou City. Wuquan Mountain on the opposite side of the river is clearly visible, and between the two mountains is the narrow and long Lanzhou City. Lanzhou City is not short of tall buildings and brave people. There is a high-altitude zipline built above Baita Mountain Park. From time to time, people slide over it, which is thrilling and exciting.

When she was young, she walked and exercised too much, and her legs would hurt after walking for a long time. This time, she has performed very well. There are many types of buildings in Baita Mountain Park, including six Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings such as Baita Temple. Baita Temple is the representative building of Baita Mountain Park. It is located on the top of Baita Mountain. The brightest white tower on the top of the mountain can be seen from a distance.

Baita Mountain is located on the north bank of the Yellow River in Lanzhou City, with an altitude of more than 1,700 meters. It is named after the "white tower" on the mountain. Baita Mountain has undulating terrain and has the majestic appearance of "embracing the golden city". "White Tower Mountain" is one of the eight scenic spots in Lanzhou. The gate of Baita Mountain is located in the middle of the platform, facing the north end of Zhongshan Iron Bridge. It was built in 1963. There are five big characters "Baita Mountain Park" on the road protection slope, and there are pedestrian trails on the east and west sides. The park gate, the plaque with black background and gold characters above the main gate has four big characters "Nine Bends and Peaceful Waves", which were written by Lanzhou calligrapher Gu Zihui when he was 88 years old.

From the Baita Mountain, you can overlook the entire Lanzhou City and the Yellow River, and the scenery is very spectacular. Every evening, when the sun sets, the whole city looks particularly beautiful under the afterglow, making it the best place for photography enthusiasts to take photos.

It is a free attraction and is worth recommending as one of the famous attractions in Lanzhou, along with the Zhongshan Bridge. The mountain itself has no special features, but standing on the mountain and looking at the Zhongshan Bridge, the Yellow River, and the buildings on the opposite bank is quite nice.

Due to time constraints, I did not make a plan in advance. After getting off the cable car, I was confused about where to go.

And because it was getting close to evening, we had to get down before the cable car stopped operating...

It is a scenic park that cannot be missed. If you have time, you can go to see the different views of Zhongshan Bridge day and night.

It is named after the White Pagoda Temple in the temple. There is a pagoda in the temple, which is neither like the Taoist pagoda seen in Dunhuang nor the wooden pagoda seen in Zhangye, but a combination of the two. I really admire the wisdom and artistic creativity of the ancient Chinese working people.

Baita Mountain and Zhongshan Bridge at the foot of the mountain are must-see places for foreign tourists to visit when they come to Lanzhou. The Yellow River is the mother river of Lanzhou. It is recommended to start the Yellow River tour from the Yellow River Mother Statue, walk east along the south bank of the Yellow River to Zhongshan Bridge, then cross the Zhongshan Bridge and climb up Baita Mountain in the north to overlook the panoramic view of Lanzhou city.

Baita Mountain Park is located on the north bank of the Yellow River near the center of Lanzhou. The entrance is connected to Zhongshan Bridge and is an important scenic spot in Lanzhou. There is a saying that goes like this: "Look at Baita from Zhongshan Bridge and Zhongshan from Baita Mountain." After climbing to the top of Baita Mountain Park, you can overlook the entire Lanzhou city from the viewing platform.



There is a cable car next to Zhongshan Bridge. The speed of the cable car is very slow. You can sit on the cable car and watch it slowly pass through the Yellow River. There is also a sheepskin raft by the Yellow River, but we didn't go there because we had already taken it in Shapotou.

This park is free. I took the cable car up there. It costs 45 to go up, 30 to go down, and 55 for a round trip. I recommend taking the one-way trip.

The cable car was very slow, and it took about 10 minutes to arrive. I could only see the Yellow River in the first minute, and the boring mountains behind. There are two directions to choose from after reaching the top. Turning left is to go to the pavilion-shaped viewing tower and the direction of the Forest of Steles, which I didn't go to. Turning right is the downhill road, which is the direction to the White Pagoda Temple. I also climbed some steps to a red pavilion first, and I guess I took a long detour.

You will reach the White Pagoda Temple almost halfway down the road. The scenery here is the best. You can directly see the Yellow River and Zhongshan Bridge. If you walk further down, you will pass by some temples, pavilions, etc., but I didn't take a closer look.

I highly recommend turning right after going down to the bottom. There is a whole museum 30 meters away, called Jinchengguan Cultural Expo Park, which includes the Bridge Museum, Cultural Experience Hall, Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall, Qinqiang Hall, and Painted Pottery Art Hall. They are all connected to each other, which is very convenient for visiting. I took a quick look and it took about an hour. It was really great. The painted pottery part was no less than that of the Gansu Provincial Museum. The other halls also had their own characteristics. In particular, the bridge hall talked about the construction history of the Zhongshan Bridge, which was very touching.

"White Pagoda Mountain" was once one of the eight scenic spots in Jincheng. After years of continuous renovation and expansion, Baita Mountain has become an important leisure place for Lanzhou people. The scenery is pleasant and it's free!

It's a good trip to climb the mountain. It was a little rainy on the day I went there, which was not very good. If the weather is good, it's pretty good to climb the mountain. By the way, it's also good to learn about the history of a Tibetan Buddhist lama who passed away here during the Yuan Dynasty.

We chose to take the cable car up and then slowly wander down. Baita Mountain Park is named after the White Pagoda Temple on the top of the mountain. Climbing to the top of Baita Mountain, you can overlook the Yellow River. The time is just right, and you can enjoy the scenery both during the day and at night.

At the end of Zhongshan Bridge is Baita Mountain Park, with Baita Temple on the mountain and a mosque at the foot of the mountain. You can overlook the city of Lanzhou from the top.

We crossed the iron bridge and arrived at Baitashan Park.

The park is built on the mountain, covers a large area and has a wide view. You can see the panoramic view of Lanzhou city and watch the Yellow River flowing eastward.

The park near Zhongshan Bridge has some protected buildings and attractions. You can reach the top by walking along the hillside and visit many different paths. It is best to go there in the early morning or at dusk to enjoy the beautiful view of the Yellow River and the city at sunrise or sunset. There are many people taking a walk in the evening. The park closes before 9 o'clock.

There are actually not many attractions to visit in Lanzhou city. Baita Mountain Park is just north of Zhongshan Bridge. You can just walk up the mountain and overlook the Yellow River Scenic Line and Lanzhou in the distance from the top of the mountain. It is a good itinerary.

We walked along the stone steps to the top of the mountain, sat in a small teahouse to drink something, cool off, and tried the famous three artillery platforms.

It is much bigger and more interesting than expected. The tour time is about 2 hours. It is recommended not to miss it, because after climbing the mountain, you can overlook Lanzhou City and the Yellow River section, which is particularly impressive. One side of the White Pagoda Temple faces the Zhongshan Bridge. After crossing the bridge, you can go directly up the mountain to the north bank. The Yellow River Cableway is actually another mountain. The two sides can be connected, but the other side is not well developed. It is mainly some small farmhouses. It is recommended not to go there when it is late.

From the Yellow River Mother Statue, walk along the Yellow River, pass the Zhongshan Bridge, cross the Zhongshan Bridge, and climb Baita Mountain by yourself. In addition, the mountain is densely covered with trees and lush greenery, which is rare in the northwest. It is no exaggeration to say that it is a mountain garden.

On the north bank of the Yellow River, you can see Lanzhou City, which is in a great location. There is a tower on the top of the mountain, which is a good place for many tourists to take photos. In addition, there are also landscapes such as the Forest of Steles and the First Pavilion of the Yellow River. The mountain road is sparsely populated and very quiet.

It will be evening when you approach the top of the mountain. The night view of Lanzhou from this height is particularly enchanting. You can take the cable car to the Zhongshan Iron Bridge when going down the mountain, and then feel the unique beauty of standing on the iron bridge and looking at the night view of the two banks.

The air in Baita Mountain Park is fresh after the rain. After climbing to the top, you can overlook Lanzhou City and the Yellow River. The scenery here is unique!

Tickets are free, and there are multiple routes up the mountain. If you want to walk all over Baita Mountain, prepare 3 hours. If you want to walk in a small circle, prepare 1.5 hours. We carried our own dry food up the mountain and replenished our energy at the Wujiao Pavilion. The Wujiao Pavilion is the best viewing point for viewing the Yellow River from Baita Mountain.

Due to time constraints, I was unable to enter the park. I could only stand on the Zhongshan Bridge and watch from a distance.

I didn't expect much at first, but when I got closer I found it to be so beautiful. There were flocks of birds flying around happily.

Baitashan Park is probably the most beautiful place in Lanzhou. Cross the Zhongshan Bridge and the pedestrian bridge to reach Baitashan Park. After climbing to the top of the mountain, I was sweating profusely. I sat in the pavilion, and the wind blew. It was refreshing. The emotions I had when I came here gradually dissipated and faded away. I looked down at Lanzhou, which is crossed by the Yellow River...

Our route to visit Baita Mountain is as follows. First, rent a shared bicycle and ride from the other side of Zhongshan Bridge to the entrance of Baita Mountain Park. By the way, it is best to buy more water yourself, because the water sold by the stalls here is more expensive. Longfu Spring sells for five yuan, but you can also pay attention to the vending machine at the Zhongshan Bridge at the foot of Baita Mountain. Today, when I went to the vending machine to buy water, there was a young lady to help me. The water here is cheaper, and Nongfu Spring is only two yuan. Going up all the way, it is best not to rush. You can enjoy the citizens' minor tune performance, which is very good. Then there is a relief of the ancient Jincheng under the Wanghe Building. You can take a good look at it and learn about ancient Lanzhou. On the top is Fayu Temple. The temple is not big, but the incense is relatively strong. On the Internet, it is Yunyue Temple. Yunyue Temple is actually a Taoist temple. Next to it is Wenchang Palace. You can go there to worship the three immortals of Fu Lu Shou, Guan Erge, God of Wealth, Queen Mother and Jade Emperor. There is a place for leisure here. I guess you are tired after walking here. You can ask for a bottle of water to sit for a while. The price is a bit expensive. Master Kong pure water is 3 yuan, Nongfu Spring is 5 yuan, Yellow River beer is 10 yuan, and Yellow River King beer is 15 yuan. It is best to buy something to sit for a while. If you don’t buy it, you will be ridiculed by the boss lady. Finally, let’s go to see the White Pagoda. This White Pagoda has a very interesting origin. It was built when a Lama master went to pay homage to Genghis Khan and walked here to pass away. There are three treasures in the White Pagoda Temple, among which there is a redbud tree. Of course, it is not a real redbud tree. There is an introduction inside. The White Pagoda Temple is a good location to overlook the entire Lanzhou city. You can see the Yellow River and the entire city. There is a zipline next to the White Pagoda Temple, which costs 30 yuan per person. You can still go up after leaving the White Pagoda Temple, so I won’t say much. In a word, this is a good place for mountaineering and a good place to understand Lanzhou. The people of Lanzhou are very generous, and the entire White Pagoda Temple Park is free. If you come down from the White Pagoda Temple, you can also see a Jinkou site of the Zhou Dynasty next to the bus station.

Personally, I think it's OK to just climb up, no need to take the cable car!

It's called a park, but it's very big. It feels a bit like walking in Yuexiu Mountain, but the altitude of Yuexiu Mountain in Guangzhou is not that high. When I entered the park, I saw some students wearing bachelor's suits taking pictures in the pavilion corridor. The sunny weather is indeed suitable for taking pictures, but the temperature here is still quite hot in the morning, but it is very cool here at night.

After entering Baita Mountain Park, keep going up, looking at the flowers and grass on the way, and when you look back, you can overlook the Mother River. The higher you go, the more you feel that "if you want to see a thousand miles, you have to climb to a higher level." As long as you are willing to climb, there is no scenery that is not beautiful.

I walked around in Baitashan Park, passing by the "Fenglinxiangniao" archway and Fayu Temple. I walked up the stairs and saw Wenchang Palace, Sanxing Hall, etc., and finally saw Baita Temple.

Baita Mountain is a scenic spot worth visiting at night or during the day. Baita Mountain Park is named after the Baita Temple on the top of the mountain. Climbing to the top of Baita Mountain, you can overlook the Yellow River. Different scenery, different feelings, waiting for the night to fall here.

Across the Zhongshan Bridge is Baitashan Park, how can you not go? I don't mind taking the Yellow River Cableway, which is too expensive compared to the Yangtze River Cableway in Chongqing.

The best place to overlook the whole Lanzhou, the scenery is magnificent and impeccable. However, there are few signposts on the road, and most of the temple halls are abandoned, which is a pity.
