Fuxi Temple

The Fuxi Temple, formerly known as Taihao Palace and commonly known as Renzong Temple, was first built between the 19th and 20th years of the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty (1483-1484). It has undergone nine renovations and formed a large-scale building complex. It is the only Fuxi Temple in China with a statue of Fuxi.
The Fuxi Temple is built facing the street, with four courtyards and four courtyards, which is vast and deep. There are 10 ancient buildings in the temple, including the theater, archway, gate, ceremonial gate, Xiantian Hall, Taiji Hall, bell tower, drum tower, and Laihe Hall; there are 6 new buildings, including the court room, stele corridor, and exhibition hall, with a total of 76 new and old buildings.

Fuxi Temple is also known as the Temple of the Ancestor of Humanity, the ancestor of human civilization, and its architecture is magnificent and imposing. Fuxi is known as the first of the Three Sovereigns and the first of the Hundred Emperors. He created the innate Eight Diagrams, improved fishing and hunting methods, changed the marriage system, and invented symbolic musical instruments. The original hall-style buildings unearthed more than 7,800 years ago in Guatai Mountain in the northern suburbs of Tianshui City and Dadiwan in Chengji, Tai'an in the north, with their concrete technology and fireproof technology, all demonstrate the hard work of the Chinese ancestors, and can be called the origin of Chinese civilization and the immortal legend of human civilization.

The Fuxi Temple was built during the Hongzhi Period of the Ming Dynasty and has a history of 600 years. There are several statues of Fuxi in the temple, with Fuxi practicing the Bagua diagram. Although the ticket price is not cheap and the attraction is not big, it is still worth a visit as it is the only temple in the country that worships Fuxi as the main god. In a word, you will regret it if you go, and you will also regret it if you don't go.

The Fuxi Temple was originally named Taihao Palace, commonly known as the Renzong Temple.

The Fuxi Temple was built to worship Fuxi, the ancestor of human civilization. Fuxi and his sister Nuwa were born in Chengji (Tianshui).

Fuxi Temple is the hometown of Fuxi, the ancestor of the Chinese people. Legend has it that Fuxi had a human head and a snake body. He unified the various tribes of China, created the dragon, the totem of the Chinese nation, and invented the Yin-Yang Bagua, fishing nets, and writing.

Inside the temple, there is a wonder of an ancient tree with eyes (P11), as well as a statue of Fuxi (P8) and a painted statue of a dragon and horse (12), which showcase the legend of Fuxi and the civilization of the Chinese nation.

Tianshui is said to be the birthplace of Fuxi, the ancestor of human civilization. Fuxi Temple was built in the style of an imperial palace to commemorate him. The architectural features are the river map and the sixty-four hexagrams painted on the top of the main hall, and the dragon and phoenix window lattices carved in the Taiji Hall (sleeping palace). Tianshui Museum is in the backyard.

The Fuxi Temple was first built between the 19th and 20th years of the Chenghua reign of the Ming Dynasty (1483-1484), and is the largest Fuxi sacrificial building complex in China. As Fuxi was the first emperor in ancient history and legend, the complex is a palace-style building, with the entire complex facing south and the memorial archway, gate, ceremonial gate, Xiantian Hall, and Taiji Hall arranged in sequence along the longitudinal axis, advancing layer by layer, solemn and majestic.

►Fuxi is the ancestor of humanities revered by the Chinese nation. He ranks first among the Three Sovereigns and first among the Hundred Kings. Fuxi created the world with one stroke and initiated Chinese civilization. He is honored as the "ancestor of mankind" and the "ancestor of dragons". Fuxi created the Eight Trigrams and laid the foundation for Yixue; he created written contracts and created the prototype of characters; he made nets and developed fishing and hunting; he established marriage and determined the marriage rituals. Tianshui is the birthplace of Fuxi and the birthplace of Fuxi culture. There has been a tradition of worshipping Fuxi since ancient times.

►Fuxi Temple, also known as "Taihao Palace", commonly known as Renzong Temple, Renzu Temple, is a temple complex dedicated to worshiping Fuxi, the ancestor of Chinese civilization, with a typical ancient Chinese palace-style architectural pattern. It is currently the largest, most complete and earliest temple dedicated to worshiping Fuxi in my country. It is also a holy place for Chinese people around the world to trace their roots and worship their ancestors, and is revered as the "No. 1 Temple in China".

Fuxi City is actually an enlarged commercial area. The scenic area is the Fuxi Temple with towering ancient cypresses. The existing cypresses are almost leaning, and some have disappeared.

However, at the beginning of the temple construction, 64 cypress trees were planted around the temple in accordance with the hexagrams.

The most interesting part is the Xiantian Hall (main hall). Before entering, there are wooden doors and window grilles, dragons and phoenixes flying, and exquisite statues.

By jyun2001 |

The ticket is 20, and it seems to be 19 when you buy it online.

There are many ancient trees there. Tianshui is a place with many ancient trees, and there are also many ancient trees in the Confucian Temple.

Inside the side rooms are introductions to Fuxi, as well as introductions to the worship of Fuxi in mainland China, Taiwan, Japan and other countries.

Inside the main hall is the golden statue of Fuxi, and on the walls on both sides are fourteen of Fuxi's achievements. However, the tasting of hundreds of herbs was also attributed to Fuxi, which made Shennong feel very uncomfortable.

There is also Fuxi College behind it, I don’t know how many branches it has.

Fuxi culture is the new business card that Tianshui City has created for the outside world. It has a long history and profound cultural heritage. It is a must-visit place when traveling to Tianshui.

By AT-1314 |

There don't seem to be many tourists from other places, but as the ancestor of the Chinese people, it is right to pay homage to him.

By brolin |

The ancient trees are towering, most of them are over 500 years old, and two thousand-year-old trees stand in front of the main hall.

By Star Kong 5 |

When you go there, you must rent an interpreter or hire a tour guide. It's quite interesting to listen to them.

By Lujiang Zhou Gongjin |

This is a symbol of Tianshui and a must-visit place when you come to Tianshui. Here you can learn the story of Fuxi, the first of the Three Emperors, and learn a lot.

By Sitting Alone in Bixi |

Besides the Maijishan Grottoes, Tianshui is another city name card. You can see the buildings and ancient trees, and also get a preliminary understanding of Fuxi himself.

By hoonycoco |

This museum is well managed and there are children explaining things.

By Xiao Liang |

It's OK. You can learn about the origin of the descendants of Yan and Huang and tell the children some legends here. There are many cultural relics in the museum. Overall, it's very good.

By Bai Xubo |

From the outer archway and square to the core temple, the overall volume of the Fuxi Temple complex and the outer antique blocks is very large, and there are many ancient cypresses in the temple. However, there are too many deeds attributed to Fuxi in the temple, and it feels like all inventions and creations in ancient times were attributed to Fuxi. In the northwest corner of the Fuxi Temple is the Tianshui Museum, which you can also visit.

By Rest, little thief |

Located in Tianshui City, this is a rare temple dedicated to Fuxi in China. It has many displays of ancient culture and Taoist culture. The building is large in scale and many wooden structures are exquisitely carved.

By Jam Master |

It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the central square along Jiefang Road to the Fuxi Temple Pedestrian Street Square. The ticket for Fuxi Temple is 40 yuan/person. This Fuxi Temple is said to have a history of more than 700 years and has been rebuilt nine times. Because Fuxi is the ancestor of the Chinese nation, the locals in Tianshui call Fuxi Temple "the Temple of the Ancestor of Humanity". Legend has it that the reason why Fuxi is regarded as the ancestor of humanities is that in addition to the creation of the Eight Diagrams, he is one of the founders of Chinese medicine. He created characters to end the history of "knotting ropes to record events", and knotted ropes into nets to catch birds and hunt. He also taught people how to fish and hunt, invented the harp, composed songs, and taught people to overcome stupidity. My personal impression is really average, it is about the same as the 15 yuan ticket, and the cost performance is relatively low. If you only want to see Maiji Mountain, you can ignore this place if you are in a hurry.

By eugen |

The most famous attraction in Tianshui City, a huge square and pedestrian street have been renovated in front of the gate, and the memorial archway of Fuxi City can be seen from afar. The temple is small in scale, with many ancient trees and profound cultural heritage. The day we went there happened to be Monday, and the Tianshui City Museum in the backyard was closed, which was a bit regrettable.

By O |

It is a tourist attraction that you should visit in Tianshui City, with rich cultural history.

By Awa |

The good thing is that we know that the ancestor of Chinese civilization created the Eight Trigrams, made written contracts, made webs, raised silkworms and made cloth, dredged water to create fields, drilled wood to make fire, improved living rooms, and pioneered monogamy, making outstanding contributions to human civilization.

By There's sugar in my pocket |

Fuxi Temple is a relatively iconic scenic spot in Tianshui City. It is a national key cultural relic protection unit and the most important place to commemorate Fuxi, the first of the Three Emperors. You must hire a guide to visit such a historical attraction. It is not expensive, only 30 yuan for 5 people or less. It happened to be the May Day holiday. There were not enough guides in the scenic area. The girl who was responsible for explaining to us took more than 10 of us to visit. Her patient and detailed explanation made us understand that Fuxi, as the ancestor of Chinese civilization, created the Eight Diagrams, made written contracts, made nets, raised silkworms and made cloth, dredged water to create fields, drilled wood to make fire, improved housing, and created monogamy, making outstanding contributions to human civilization. In addition, Fuxi Temple is connected to Tianshui Museum. Interested friends can go to the temporary exhibition hall to visit the Picasso exhibition.

I went to Fuxi Temple for a walk in the evening. There were a lot of people, most of them were locals who came out to cool off in the summer and dance in the square. There were small shops selling specialty handicrafts on both sides. Many people come here to travel.

Only two halls are open, and the old trees are worth seeing; most of the stone tablets are modern, and the old ones are basically unreadable; the back garden is close to the road and you can hear the thudding sound. Fuxi Temple is the largest and best-preserved Ming Dynasty architectural complex in China that commemorates Fuxi, one of the ancient "Three Emperors". In 1963, the People's Government announced that Fuxi Temple was a key cultural relic protection unit in Gansu Province. The Fuxi Temple is located on Fuxi Road, Xiguan, Qincheng District, Tianshui City. The ancient buildings in Guatai Mountain were completely destroyed; however, the main buildings, statues and other cultural relics of Fuxi Temple in Tianshui City are basically well preserved due to a series of protection measures taken by the Tianshui Municipal Cultural Department in a timely manner. Most experts and scholars believe that paying attention to the protection of this architectural complex has a very important material value for studying China's ancient history, exploring Ming Dynasty architectural art, and investigating Tianshui local folk customs.

There is a very magical legend about the birth of Fuxi. It is said that Fuxi's mother Huaxu once stepped on a huge footprint in a place called Lei Ze. 12 years later, she gave birth to Fuxi. The ancients regarded 12 years as a ji, and the birthplace of Fuxi was called Chengji. This is the earliest conception myth in my country, which explains the social phenomenon of "only knowing the mother but not the father" in the matriarchal clan in China.

The Fuxi Temple in Tianshui is the largest and best-preserved Ming Dynasty building complex in my country that commemorates Fuxi, one of the "Three Emperors" of ancient times. It faces north and south and covers an area of more than 10,000 square meters. When you go west along Tianshui City Street and arrive at Fuxi Road, you can see this brand new large archway from afar. That is the front gate of the Fuxi Temple. There is a Tianshui zero kilometer sign on the ground in the middle of the Fuxi Temple archway. Towering ancient trees can be seen everywhere in the Fuxi Temple. According to folklore, there were originally 64 ancient cypresses in the front and back yards, which were planted according to the 64 directions deduced by Fuxi's Bagua. Now there are 37 trees left, evergreen in winter and summer, full of vitality. These ancient cypresses have now become precious cultural relics.

Fuxi Temple is located in the western part of Qinzhou District, Tianshui City. It was originally named Taihao Palace, commonly known as Renzong Temple. After nine renovations, it has formed a large-scale building complex. It is the only Fuxi Temple in my country with a statue of Fuxi. Three memorial ceremonies are held every year (official ceremonies in the summer solstice and two civil ceremonies in the spring and autumn). The ticket price is 40 yuan per person. When you check in, you can see a beautiful colorful Nuwa stone on the left (west). The north side of Fuxi Temple is Tianshui Museum. The two scenic spots are connected by a door. The museum mainly introduces the history of Tianshui's civilization development from ancient times to modern times. Pottery and bronze ware are relatively systematic. After visiting the innermost part of Fuxi Temple, you can go through the door to the museum for free.

As one of the eight scenic spots in Tianshui, the Fuxi Temple is a must-see attraction for tourists to Tianshui. In addition, Fuxi is the first of the Three Sovereigns in Chinese mythology and legends, and the ancestor of Chinese humanities. He drew the Eight Diagrams and created written contracts... It is definitely worth a visit.

A very good cultural attraction where you can learn about Fuxi in detail. The exhibits in the museum are also rich.

There are not many highlights to see in the Fuxi Temple, and the tour guide likes to talk nonsense about yin and yang and gossip. There are some architectural details worth noting, such as the eaves, window lattices, etc., which are delicate and creative, and are quite amazing.

In addition, the Tianshui Museum (pass) is also connected to the Fuxi Temple and can be visited at the same time. It is a good place for tourists who want to learn about the past and present of this ancient place. The name of Tianshui has a history of more than 2,100 years, which makes people respect the ancient culture of China.

The hometown of Emperor Xi, anyone who has studied the Eight Trigrams would probably know about it. Personally, I think this place is just average, more like a Taoist temple, where sacrificial activities are held on the fifteenth day of every first lunar month.

During the Spring Festival, the weather was good so I wanted to go out for a walk. It was already afternoon when I arrived in Tianshui, so I went to the Fuxi Temple. As the first temple in China, the scenery is pretty good. Unfortunately, the guides got off work too early during the Spring Festival. We arrived at 4 pm and there was no guide. I felt something was missing when I walked around without a guide. Many things were unclear, which was a pity. There is also a Tianshui Museum, which has a digital movie that allows you to learn about some of the deeds of the hometown of Emperor Xi. The sign said that the last show was at 17:00. We waited until then, but it was not there. After asking around, we found out that it ended early. It left a lot of regrets! ⊙﹏⊙

As other travel notes have mentioned a lot about the history and cultural significance of this temple, I will not elaborate on it. I will just talk about my own opinion here: First of all, the transportation is very convenient. Many buses have stops here, and it is also close to other attractions (Confucius Temple, Pedestrian Street, and North and South Courtyards are all within 1.5 kilometers).

The Fuxi Temple is not big, with two main halls as the main structure, and it takes less than 20 minutes to visit all of them. However, many details are worth seeing, such as the Shanhaijing murals on the back wall of the Xiantian Hall and the deeds of Fuxi in the Taiji Hall.

It is worth visiting the Fuxi Temple and the Tianshui Museum, which houses many cultural relics with local characteristics. (The museum is closed on Mondays, so I hope other friends will pay attention to this).

Very close to the city center. The first time I took a taxi, it cost 5 yuan. The second time I walked directly there. It was only more than 1 km away from the central square. . Maybe I came during the off-peak tourist season. It was very quiet inside. Looking at the curling green smoke next to the towering trees, my heart became very peaceful. The online ticket discount of 5 yuan is not to be missed. . By the way, I recommend the Hualian Hotel in the central square. The online booking cost 218 yuan. The location is good and the environment is great. The only thing that is bad is the front desk service. . .

This is one of the must-visit attractions in Tianshui City. The entire Fuxi Temple is relatively large and has just been renovated in recent years. It is a good place for those who want to learn about Chinese traditional culture and the origin of Chinese civilization.

A scenic spot with two halls, 40 yuan ticket is really boring, but the museum ticket is given, which seems to be a forced gift. If you visit the museum alone, I don't know how to go

The environment of the scenic spot is OK, you can take photos, but you need explanations to understand Fuxi culture.

As the only place in China that commemorates Fuxi, this is a must-go. Half-price for student ID is 20, full ticket is 40, and you can make an appointment for explanation, 50 per person, otherwise you won't understand a lot of things. Legend has it that there were originally 64 ancient cypresses in the Fuxi Temple, arranged according to the 64 hexagrams. Later, due to various natural disasters and man-made disasters, only 37 were left. Regardless of whether it is true or not, because of these ancient cypresses, the environment of the entire Fuxi Temple has improved a lot. As soon as you enter, you feel very quiet and breathe very comfortably. There is a Nuwa stone on the right side of the door. Many people offer sacrifices, take photos, and touch it. I didn't know much about Fuxi at first, but when I went in, I found that many things were related to him. I don't know if it's true. I always thought that Tai Chi Bagua and other things were made by Zhouyi. Here it is introduced that it was made by Grandpa Fuxi; tasting hundreds of herbs, weaving and counting were also done by Grandpa Fuxi; raising silkworms and farming were still done by Grandpa Fuxi... In short, Grandpa Fuxi led everyone into a new era

Fuxi Temple, originally named Taihao Palace, is commonly known as Renzong Temple. It is located on Fuxi Road, Xiguan, Tianshui City, Gansu Province. In 1963, the People's Government announced it as a key cultural relic protection unit in Gansu Province. Fuxi Temple is built facing the street, with courtyards stacked one on top of another, four courtyards and four entrances, vast and deep. The ancient buildings in the temple include 10 buildings, including the theater, archway, gate, ceremonial gate, Xiantian Hall, Taiji Hall, bell tower, drum tower, and Laihe Hall; the new buildings include 6 buildings, including the Chaofang, stele corridor, and exhibition hall. There are 76 new and old buildings in total. The entire building complex faces south. The archway, gate, ceremonial gate, Xiantian Hall, and Taiji Hall are arranged in sequence along the longitudinal axis, advancing layer by layer, solemn and majestic.

Ancient cypress trees are scattered throughout the courtyards of Fuxi Temple. They were planted in the Ming Dynasty. There were originally 64 of them, symbolizing the number of Fuxi's 64 hexagrams. Now there are 37 of them. They are tall and green, with thick shades covering the sun. There were originally two ancient locust trees standing opposite each other at the east and west corners of the inner side of the gate of Fuxi Temple. Now there is one on the east side, with a hollow trunk, which was identified as a plant in the Tang Dynasty. On the 16th day of the first lunar month, the birthday of Fuxi, people from the surrounding area, bringing their old and young, come to Fuxi Temple to worship and offer sacrifices to the "Ancestor of Man". For a time, the precious candles were shining, the incense was curling, the bells and drums were ringing, and the devout men and women were extremely pious. The temple was filled with a solemn and solemn scene.

After getting off the bus, we walked and navigated to the Fuxi Temple. The ticket was 40 yuan, the student ticket was 20 yuan, and a ticket to the Tianshui Museum was given as a gift.

Fuxi Temple is located in Tianshui City. It is the main tourist attraction in Tianshui and is crowded with people.

Fuxi, a native of Tianshui, was one of the Three Emperors (Fuxi, Nuwa, and Shennong). He took the body of a python, the head of a crocodile, the horns of a stag, the eyes of a tiger, the scales of a red carp, the legs of a monitor lizard, the claws of a goshawk, the tail of a white shark, and the baleen of a fin whale, and created the totem of the Chinese nation - the dragon. The descendants of the dragon came from this, so Tianshui is also called "Dragon City."

The existing Fuxi Temple is not very big. After visiting the Fuxi Temple, you can visit the Tianshui Museum for free and watch video movies about Fuxi on the hour.

The Fuxi Temple is a purely sacrificial building without any religious color.

After entering the temple, we found that the incense was not very strong. The main attraction was the Tianshui Museum. It turned out that this was a combination of a museum and a temple, with publicity and restoration going hand in hand. We learned a lot about Tianshui's geography and history from it.

There are still some places to go here, the tickets are cheap and good. I like it.

Very good scenic spot, not many people, the ticket price is reasonable, the tour guide explained clearly

When you come to Tianshui, you naturally want to pay homage to Fuxi, the ancestor of mankind. However, the 60 yuan entrance fee to the Fuxi Temple feels a bit rip-off, so not many people come. The temple is not very big, with just three courtyards, but there are cypress trees everywhere and the main hall is built with ancient charm, which somewhat recoups some of the ticket price.

If you are interested in Fuxi's sixty-four hexagrams, you can come here to have a look. The sixty-four hexagrams are above the head of the hall where the statue of Fuxi is located.

Fuxi Temple is also called Renzong Temple and Tianhao Temple. It is not Buddhist, Taoist or Confucian, but it can be said that it is a gathering of Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism, because it is the beginning, the "beginning of civilization"

The tour guide was very attentive and enthusiastic. He even spoke loudly when there were many people. I only found out that there was a charge at the end. I hope other places can learn from this, which will help everyone to improve their brain health and promote the city.

The ticket was 40 yuan, which seemed a bit expensive. I finished the tour in a short while.

In the West, Adam and Eve created human beings. In China, Fuxi and Nvwa created the world and human beings. The hometown of Emperor Xi is definitely worth a visit.

I just found out today that Fuxi is the founder of the Bagua diagram

By Lan Xinrong |

Fuxi is the leader of the Three Huangs, and he was much earlier than Yandi and Huangdi. Fuxi created many practical methods, the most familiar of which is the Eight Diagrams, which is Fuxi's masterpiece.
