Sangke Grassland

Sangke Grassland is a natural pasture for the Tibetan people. It is rich in water and grass. In summer, the grassland is as green as a carpet. Under the blue sky and white clouds, there are herds of cattle and sheep, creating a natural pastoral scenery.
The main purpose of entering the grassland for fun is to participate in Tibetan home-style activities, such as eating yogurt, hand-pulled mutton, tsampa and other foods in a Tibetan bag, participating in bonfire parties, Guozhuang dances and other activities.
The horse racing festival here is very famous. Every year on the 13th day of the seventh lunar month, the seven tribes of Sangke hold a horse racing meeting here. By then, herdsmen from all over the country will gather here, and the tents are like clouds, making it very lively.

The prairie full of wild flowers is beautiful, but it is really hot and full of bugs. It can be said that my eyes are in heaven, but my body is in hell. It is time for An Nai to stand the test!

I endured the harassment of a swarm of insects and took a lot of beautiful portraits. I felt that the trip was worth it!

The prairie is the place to wear a red skirt~~ It's especially photogenic! The last time I wore this skirt was when I went to Qinghai Lake.

Sangke Grassland is peaceful and beautiful, with flowers blooming everywhere. It can be called a beautiful girl in the grassland.

On the way back, the owner of the Tibetan horse farm took the initiative to dismount and let me ride back~

In Sangke Grassland, if you have time, you can go deeper like us, so that you can find simple herdsmen’s homes, where you can feel the enthusiasm of Tibetan compatriots, and horse riding is cheap. Compared with the racecourse at the entrance, the cost-effectiveness is extremely high!

By CHAO_er |

From the map, we can see that Sangke Grassland covers a large area, with wide and flat terrain, and lush meadows stretching as far as the eye can see. There are many families camping on the grassland, riding horses, drinking tea and chatting. It is a great natural camping site.

By Infinite Heaven and Earth |

After 2pm, we entered the Sangke Grassland. There were groups of yaks on both sides of the road, which was really spectacular!!! You can ride horses here. The scenery on both sides of the road is really beautiful! We passed a large area of rapeseed flowers and everyone had a lot of fun here!

Sangke Grassland is 13 kilometers west of Xiahe County, Gannan Prefecture, and you will enter the vast and beautiful Sangke Grassland. Sangke Grassland is part of the Dajiutan Grassland in Sangke Township. It is surrounded by mountains and has an open and flat alpine grassland in the middle.

By Snow Prince |

Sangke Grassland is located in Xiahe, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, 10 kilometers southwest of Labrang, Xiahe County, and is directly accessible by road. Sangke Grassland is a meadow grassland with an average altitude of more than 3,000 meters and a grassland area of 70 square kilometers. It is one of the main animal husbandry bases in Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. There are only more than 4,000 herdsmen here, but the grassland is vast and boundless, making it an extremely valuable natural tourist attraction.

The road was full of green, and the children said the green mountains looked like matcha chocolate.

The largest grassland in Gannan area, including wetland scenic area and grassland homestay.

If you have more time, you can choose to stay on the grassland for a day or half a day to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery of the grassland.

Sangke Grassland, 3500m above sea level, vast and empty! So beautiful that words cannot describe it! Must drive an off-road vehicle

By Jiao Youyou |

It's a very ordinary grassland, just a visit as you pass by!

By Mai Divination |

It's beautiful, but it's basically a private ranch, so you have to spend some money there.

Sangke Grassland is located in the southwest of Xiahe County, with an average altitude of more than 3,000 meters. The grassland is dotted with herdsmen's Tibetan bags, cattle and sheep, and various unknown wild flowers.

By Linger |

About Sangke Grassland.

In early June, the grass had just started to grow. There were almost no tourists, but mostly leisurely cattle and sheep.

By Xuerou |

In summer, the Sangke Grassland is covered with green grass, like a natural carpet spread across the sky, with various wild flowers competing for beauty, gorgeous and pleasing to the eye. The Daxia River meanders through the grassland, like a Hada falling on the green carpet.

By Kang Dongsheng |

I went there for work in October, which is not the best season, but it was quite stunning. The yellow grassland, plus a series of Tibetan elements, instantly made people feel quiet. I like this place. Driving on the road, every frame of the picture outside the window will make you feel happy.

By Travel study room of big names |

You can eat hand-grabbed meat and ride horses in Sangke Grassland. Although I don’t know how to ride a horse, I have a strong desire to go to the grassland to ride horses every year.

Picnicing on the Sangke Grassland is like no other picnic. So, bring your own driving tools, picnic blankets/portable hot pots/etc., wind, sunshine, air, infinite beauty! (Of course, the Tibetans will wait for you to finish eating and ask for money. Fortunately, this time, they asked for 20 yuan.)

By Roliff Herman |

In late summer, the entire grassland is green, with flowers in full bloom, cattle and sheep everywhere, and the blue sky, white clouds and green grass are integrated. Dozens of white tents are dotted on the green grass, beside the stream and beside the bushes. Leisurely people drink butter tea and chat. Everything seems so comfortable and peaceful.

By I'm alone in the world |

You can see it on the way from Labrang Monastery to Langmusi. The plank road is well designed and no entrance fee is charged. In good weather, the scenery is beautiful.

By Time is singing |

I had heard about this place before I came here. It is well-known and has beautiful scenery.

By xiaopao275 |

The autumn Sangke Grassland itself is not very special, and the beige grass is not very eye-catching, but the distant view of the mountain cloud grassland is very good.

By pavel |

The flowers on the grassland have faded, but you can feel how beautiful it is in June when the flowers are in bloom. Parking is prohibited on this road, and there are often traffic police patrols. If you want to stop and take pictures, find a paid parking lot.

By yxb110128's Weibo |

There are yurts dotted on the grassland, the grass is yellow in the autumn, the horses are neighing, and the cattle and sheep are in herds.

By Fang |

Maybe we came in the wrong season. We couldn't see the endless green grassland, but all we could see were withered yellow grass! This was also a relatively bad attraction in this trip!

Horseback riding fees in Sangke Grassland:

Route A: 45 yuan. This is a road ride. Generally, no one would choose this route.

Route B: 55 yuan, it is a grassland horse ride where someone will lead the horse for you.

Walk around the grassland for about 20 minutes

If you want to experience the thrill of riding a horse, you can also add 20 yuan and someone will take you to gallop on the grassland! If you don't ride a horse and just want to take pictures, it will cost 5 yuan per person!

By Miss Lion🦁 |

After a snowy night, the Sangke grassland was covered with clear skies, and the mountains and waters complemented each other. After a night of snow, the scenery of snow-capped mountains was formed, which was also an unexpected gain.

By Yellow Duckling |

There is no ticket, the scenery can be seen along the way, cattle and sheep are everywhere, the grass is very lush, very suitable for taking pictures

By I love to eat pomegranates |

We found a yurt on the Sangke grassland, negotiated a price with the owner, picked a good horse, and then galloped on the grassland. I was quite nervous about riding a horse for the first time, but the horses raised by herders are generally docile and can quickly master the skills, so there is no need to worry. We originally planned to stay in the yurt at night, but because it was the peak tourist season, there were few rooms and the conditions were simple, so we returned to Luqu County to stay.

By China-TravelNote users |

You can drive all the way into the heart of the grassland, which is a large grassland. While almost all the attractions along the way are charged, this is a free area that belongs almost exclusively to me.

By Bobo |

There are grasslands, cattle, sheep and beautiful scenery everywhere. There are no people or cars on the road, so you can capture the beautiful scenery with your camera. Although there are not many people or cars on the road, in addition to cattle and sheep, there are also gophers passing by frequently. At first I thought they were hares. Sometimes you can even see a family crossing the road.

By Big head |

It's very beautiful, it's best to experience it on horseback, it's better if it's off-season, the cost performance is higher!

By Yao Ming |

When I got there, I saw fenced grass. Each piece was contracted by someone. I had to pay to enter. The riding area was still in a designated area! 55 for a stroll, 75 for a run, I spent 100 an hour to run three laps! I just got a little bit of time to get started! I can only say that the business is too good! If you don't consume, you won't be allowed to enter the place where you eat and stay.

By A benevolent person enjoys mountains |

The entire 54-kilometer Sangke Grassland has beautiful scenery along the way.

By jiekewang1979 |

Sangke Grassland is smaller than Norgay Grassland, and its scenery is not as beautiful. It mainly provides entertainment on the grassland, such as horseback riding and barbecue. My sister said that she saw a lake nearby on the Internet. Just when I suspected that it was an inconspicuous small lake, Sangke Grassland Wetland appeared in front of me again like other beautiful scenery. The lake surface of the wetland is bright and calm, like a mirror reflecting the mountains, sky and clouds. When you walk to a high place and look down at the wetland, the cool breeze blows across your cheeks, which is comfortable and cozy.

By Sheep Horns |

Sangke Dam is the first small scenic spot (there are no big attractions here, and there are beautiful scenery everywhere). In fact, it is a small lake formed by the interception of the river. The grass here grows sparsely, but it just becomes the embellishment of the small lake. The scenery of Sangke grassland is not limited to a certain point, but is always on the road. After turning from Provincial Highway 312 to County Highway 408, there is no more barbed wire to isolate, and the grassland here is more beautiful. There are opportunities to experience grassland life on the road, such as horseback riding, grassland dinners, etc.

By Faye |

It is especially beautiful in the rain! ! The smoke is lingering, the people are sparsely populated, and the grass and trees are soft~

By Juanzi |

The scenery is beautiful when the weather is clear and you can ride horses, but there are not many flowers on the grassland.

By Cao Wenhan |

Great grassland, it's best to drive here by yourself so you can arrange your own time

By Kitten on the second floor |

Not far from Xiahe is Sangke Grassland. Because it was raining, we didn't park at the tourist plank road. When passing a parking rest area, the wild flowers on the roadside attracted me to get off the car. Although the real scenery was very beautiful, the cold temperature made me doubt my life instantly...

By Ha Xiaobi |

The environment is good, but it is commercialized.

Take a bus from Xiahe to Sangke Township, 4 yuan per person, and the bus will leave when it is full. There is a car in the parking lot on the south slope of Labrang Monastery, a 7-seater van as shown in the picture.

By Yanggujun |

After the rain, I came to the 3,000-meter Sangke grassland. As Gannan's second great gift, I gladly accepted it. This vast world surprised me. The vast green filled every corner of the world. The purity after the rain here is a feeling of "viewing from a distance but not playing with it". You are the warmth of the sun through the lines of clouds, soothing the soul, the grass crawling, and the mind is innocent; you are the nameless wildflowers on this green velvet carpet, colorful and colorful. I climbed the plateau and looked down at the earth. Here the blue waves are rippling, and the sight of the plains is refreshing.

By Shalive |

Sangke Grassland was developed relatively early, and it is very convenient to travel and ride horses. The grassland is divided into pieces, and grazing scenes can be seen everywhere. Even in a downpour, herders have to watch over the cattle and sheep, which is really not easy. Here, you must pay attention to the speed of the car at all times and avoid various herds of sheep, cattle, and very few horses.

By Wilderness Dreaming |

The grassland is huge and the scenery is beautiful.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, come here, open your heart and embrace nature!

(Completely free, no admission fee)

By Deng Lei |

The flowers in Sangke Grassland are not as bright and beautiful as those in Ruoergai, nor as magnificent as those in Ruoergai. On the road, we met a Tibetan on a motorcycle. We slowed down to take photos of her continuously, and she actually cooperated with us with a smile.

By Zhang Shasha |

The weather started to clear up when we got off the bus. The beauty of the grassland and wetland gradually came into view, and the joyful mood went straight to the bottom of my heart. The mountains are mountains, and the water is water; between the mountains and the water, I feel at ease.

Sangke Grassland is located in Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province (10 kilometers southwest of Labrang Monastery in Xiahe County).

You can think of Sangke Grassland as the natural pasture of the local Tibetan compatriots, with blue sky and white clouds, green grass, cattle, sheep and horses, it is like wandering in an endless pastoral pasture.

There are many delicious foods and activities that tourists can experience on Sangke Grassland, such as yogurt, hand-pulled lamb, tsampa and other foods; and participate in bonfire parties, Guozhuang dances and other activities.

The grass is green, dotted with colorful flowers, and the water is rippling, full of poetic and picturesque beauty!

White clouds float in the blue sky, horses run on the green grass, black sesame seeds and white sesame seeds are spread all over the hills. Even a casual shot taken in the car can be comparable to a Microsoft desktop.

This horse riding experience is indeed nostalgic, and I still feel itchy in my heart when I think of it.

Seeing the herds of cattle and sheep, the endless grasslands, and the high mountains in the distance, I felt very happy.

Photography Guidelines:

For a solo photo of a boy, the key point is that a simple white T-shirt that fits well is enough (the kind that costs 100 yuan for three pieces at Uniqlo). Transform into Captain America, cover your chest when you smile, hahaha, it’s also good to take photos against the light on the grassland.

By Love is strolling together |

There are minivans in the parking lot below the Buddha-drying platform that cost 4 RMB to get to Sangke Grassland. The grassland has been developed into farmhouses. You will regret it if you go there.

Tips: Most of the grasslands in Sangke Grassland are contracted by farmers and herdsmen, and barbed wire fences are erected on both sides. During the peak tourist season, herdsmen will charge you 10 to 30 yuan when you get off the car and enter the grassland to take pictures.

By Purple One |

We walked, ran, and chased on the grassland. When we were tired, we lay down to rest. We were as free as horses on the grassland. We really wanted to live in the grassland forever, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Most of the tourists who came here were organized by travel agencies. As time went by, more and more people came. The wind on the grassland was very strong, and it started to get a little cold before the sun went down.

By 90 Morning Bus |

It was already past five when we arrived at Sangke Grassland, but it gets dark late here. In the evening, the grassland is particularly beautiful. You must take pictures here.

By Morning |

On April 22, we came out of Labrang Monastery and passed through Sangke Grassland on our way to Langmusi. The grass on Sangke Grassland was not green yet. There were many cattle, sheep, horses, and little black pigs on the grasslands by the river. Sometimes they ran onto the road. I really wanted to pick up a little black pig and eat its meat. Hahaha

By Photographer Li Hongyu |

There are many cattle, sheep and herdsmen on the Sangke grassland. Many herdsmen drive cars to graze, which is really keeping up with the times. On the roads of Sangke grassland, traffic jams are not caused by cars, but by cattle and sheep.

The herdsmen on the Sangke grassland set up camp during the grazing season. There are many tents scattered on the grassland, just like the grassland I imagined.

The most thoughtful thing is that the parking lot has a viewing platform, which is free of charge! Here I met a white couple with two children, one black and one white. Sangke Grassland is the first grassland I have ever seen. From a distance, the grassland looks green and lovely. Any casual photo looks like a computer desktop. If you look closely, the soil is exposed and there is a lot of dust. However, we were still very excited. We put on colorful headscarves and posed for photos.
