【Introduction】
The Yellow River Stone Forest National Geopark is located in Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, with a total area of about 50 square kilometers. It is a geological relic nature reserve, a national geological park, and a national AAAA-level scenic spot in Gansu Province.
【Historical evolution】
The Stone Forest was formed in the Early Pleistocene of the Quaternary Period of the Cenozoic Era 4 million years ago. Due to geological actions such as crustal movement, weathering, and rain erosion, a variety of stone forest landforms were formed.
【Special Landscape】
The main attractions of the Stone Forest are the Grand Canyon and the viewing platform at the end of the canyon. This area is located on the north side of the Yellow River. The canyon is lined with towering stone forests, with a unique landform and a large scale. The stalagmites are about 100 meters high, and some even reach more than 200 meters high. It is extremely spectacular and a great place for photography.
【Special Experience】
Riding a donkey cart in the canyon is one of the local special folk customs. When riding on the donkey cart, the local aunt driving the cart often sings a Northwest folk song, which resounds in the valley and is very touching.
The sheepskin raft on the Yellow River is also the most traditional folk experience in the northwest. The raft vibrates up and down, which is very exciting (pay attention to personal safety and waterproofing of electronic equipment).
In Longwan Village within the scenic area, there are often bonfire parties and other activities in the farmhouses, where local folk songs and dances are performed, and green and pollution-free farm dishes can be tasted.
【Scenic spot guide】
The route to visit the Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area is relatively complicated. The general transportation destination (i.e. the entrance to the scenic area, private cars are not allowed to enter) is on the south side of the Yellow River. After arriving at the entrance on the south side, you need to take the shuttle bus to the north to Longwan Village. From Longwan Village, you need to take an electric car to the Yellow River Wharf, and take a sheepskin raft or cruise ship at the wharf to the canyon entrance on the north side of the Yellow River. Here you can change to a donkey cart or horseback riding to enter the canyon (you can also hike, but it requires more physical strength), and then take a kart or cable car to visit the viewing platform. After visiting the viewing platform, return to the canyon entrance by the original route, take a cruise ship back to the wharf, then return to Longwan Village, and then leave at the entrance of the scenic area. The above route takes about half a day to visit the entire scenic area, excluding accommodation.
【Special Tips】
1. The climate in the Yellow River Stone Forest is very dry. You need to prepare drinking water before entering the canyon. You can buy it in advance outside the scenic area or in Longwan Village.
2. There is a lot of sand and dust in the northwest region, and the sunlight is very strong on sunny days. You can prepare headscarves, masks, sunglasses and other equipment to protect your skin and eyes.
3. Longwan Village in the route is a village where you can stay in the scenic area. There are many farmhouses in the village. The room price is about 100 yuan. You can take a shower in the public toilet. If you come in the late afternoon, you can stay in Longwan Village directly and leave after visiting the scenic spots the next day. If you arrive in the morning or at noon, you can visit the scenic spots first, stay in the village at night, and leave the next day. Tourists who drive or charter a car can also go back and forth on the same day.

The stone forest is towering and has dangerous cliffs. It is even more spectacular when viewed from the aerial view.
When walking in the canyon, you feel like you are walking on a mountain top.
Every gully is engraved with traces of the river water crashing against it. I have never seen a similar landscape like this.
The Stone Forest in Yunnan is magnificent, and the Danxia in Zhangye is stunning.
But the unique sense of vicissitudes of the Yellow River Stone Forest, with traces of more than 2 million years, is majestic.
Walking along the Stone Forest Canyon, I focused on my steps and the rough dirt roads. The stone forests on both sides were handsome and tall, and I imagined a scene in a movie, where a masked knight on horseback, dressed in black, galloping past with a sword.
Going further, the view became brighter, and a cableway led to the top of a mountain in the distance, but it was unattended in winter. I climbed over the fence and followed the narrow path to start climbing the mountain. The mountain was not high, and I soon reached the top.
Looking down, the ravines, winding river paths, and proud stone forests form a desolate and majestic western painting. Braving the dusty northwest wind, I walked carefully along every cliff on the top of the mountain.
I sat on the top of a mountain for a long time. There was no grass growing on the Yellow River Stone Forest at my feet. On that day, the Yellow River Stone Forest was nothing but me.
The star service is so-so. I chatted with the guy who drove the first battery car for a while on the way. They are all locals. The scenery is not special because there are too many scenic spots like this now.
The Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area is a national 4A-level scenic area. The core scenic area is located in the Yinmagou Grand Canyon area. Most of the photos found on the Internet are from here. You cannot drive into the scenic area during the peak season (it is said that you can drive in in December every year). You can only choose to take the public transportation of the scenic area. The transportation of the entire scenic area is a bit complicated. First, take a bus from the gate of the tourist center to the upper pier, then take a boat to the lower pier, and then enter from the canyon entrance. After entering, there are still small shuttle buses, and finally there is a "donkey" ride point.
There is a small village inside the Yellow River Stone Forest Park scenic area. Local villagers have opened many homestays in their own courtyards, which are affordable and convenient.
Private cars cannot enter the Yellow River Stone Forest and need to park in the parking lot at the entrance of the scenic area (free of charge).
The owner of the B&B came to pick us up at the entrance of the scenic spot in advance.
Tips:
You need to buy a scenic spot ticket at the gate:
Tickets (40) + scenic area bus + scenic area battery car + yacht
Adult ticket: 168
Senior ticket (60-69): 148 (ticket 20)
Senior citizen ticket (70 and above): Free admission
Children under 1.2 meters tall are free of charge
You can choose to buy a package, but it is recommended to choose all.
The scenic area bus takes tourists from the entrance of the scenic area through the winding mountain road all the way to the scenic area square.
Then we changed to an electric car to take us to the pier to take a speedboat. (If you live in the scenic area, you will arrive in the village after getting off the electric car. It is very convenient to walk directly to where you live. Generally, the landlord will ride a tricycle to help you carry your luggage.) The pier is at the entrance of the village.
If you are not staying here, you can walk five minutes to the pier and take a speedboat to the central scenic area, the Yellow River Stone Forest Grand Canyon. You can start your tour from here.
The scenic spot package includes an electric car, so after getting off the speedboat you can change to a sightseeing electric car to tour the canyon. The driver will give you a brief introduction along the way and will stop at the classic scenic spots for you to get off and sightsee. You will get off about 2-3 times along the way. The driver will drive to the front and wait for you, and you will get on the same car again.
It is quite user-friendly and convenient. Of course, you can walk by yourself, but it will be tiring and sunny (the canyon walk takes about 30-40 minutes).
The battery car will take everyone to the bottom of the observation deck, and the rest of the way will depend on everyone walking. It will take about 30 minutes to walk to the observation deck. The cable car is being repaired at the observation deck, and I believe we will be able to take the cable car up soon.
In the past, I read everyone’s posts saying that you had to ride a donkey cart, sheepskin raft, or go-kart in the scenic area. Now, these means of transportation are no longer required options. The scenic area has transformed the donkey carts and sheepskin rafts into experience projects that do not take you along the necessary routes and can only be experienced over a very short distance. The prices are also higher.
So is it clear that the transportation within the scenic area is:
Take the scenic bus to the square → take the electric car to the pier → take the speedboat to the canyon → take the electric car to the canyon to the observation deck → walk to the observation deck → take the electric car from the canyon back to the pier → take the speedboat to the pier → take the electric car to the square → take the scenic bus back to the gate
From what I've observed, there are roads to the canyon without taking a speedboat. If you have enough energy, you can choose to walk by yourself, but it's really unnecessary in the heat and sun.
Yellow River Stone Forest, ticket price 40, transportation fee 65 (including bus, eco-friendly car and yacht), donkey cart 90 per car (can seat 3 people), kart 100 (30 minutes walk)
Play time 4 hours.
Yellow River Stone Forest, like Shapotou, is the filming location of "Where Are We Going, Dad?". It also has a wide variety of entertainment options, including sheepskin rafts, donkey carts, go-karts, etc. It is divided into three areas:
In the Yellow River area, sheepskin rafts are the main attraction.
Yinmagou Grand Canyon, where you can experience the height of the stone forest, plus the donkey carts that children love. It is an important battlefield in Jackie Chan's "The Myth".
At the top of the mountain, the stone forest turns into a cluster of low peaks, giving you a bird's eye view of all the other mountains.
Personally, I prefer the Yellow River Stone Forest, which allows you to capture both grand scenes and the feeling of a cramped canyon.
A very mature tourist development area, so mature that every step you take is within their calculation range, haha. We mainly came to experience the sheepskin raft and donkey cart, and the scenery was pretty good.
The problem of too many modes of transportation mentioned in the guide does exist, but I found it was not that scary after I went there. Each mode of transportation is clearly marked with a price. Helicopter is 880/person, donkey cart is 90/car round trip, battery car is 40, bus is 20, and I forgot how much the sheepskin raft is. Although the price is high, there is no problem of deliberately overcharging tourists. The locals will persuade you to take it because it is really not close, and they don’t force you to take the car. Young people with normal physical strength can also walk back and forth in half a day. The scenic area is large and the management is loose. If you consider playing until the sun sets, it is best to arrange a donkey cart or something like that. Otherwise, there will be no one down from the viewing platform and you may have to go through the canyon in the dark. It is still scary to walk alone in the canyon without signal.
The landforms are very unique, and the scenic area is very profitable. You must understand it clearly before going. Generally, large scenic areas only require a commuter bus pass within the scenic area, but Shilin will cut a route of several kilometers into multiple sections and charge different transportation tools separately. So although the ticket is not expensive, only 40, other transportation tools will be very expensive. For example, if you want to go to the Grand Canyon scenic spot in Shilin now, you need to buy a bus for 30 per person to go down the mountain, and then a battery car for 15 per person after going down the mountain, and then change to a bicycle for 20 per car, and then change to a donkey cart for 90 without a car, and then change to a beach car to get to the scenic spot. If you start from Longwan Village, you will also have to pay for a speedboat or raft. Therefore, a short distance will use many transportation tools for you to pay to ride. You must plan in advance to save a lot of transportation money.
Jingtai Yellow River Stone Forest, only here can bring a shock to the soul
The Yinmagou Grand Canyon in the core scenic area is a dusty mountain range with strange peaks and rocks. You can imagine yourself standing at the bottom of the Yellow River that was diverted 4 million years ago.
Riding on a donkey cart, creaking and humming along to the songs of the Northwest, the desolate scenery along the way is also a unique and heavy feeling under the erosion of the continuous wind and rain.
The Yellow River Stone Forest is very different from the Yunnan Stone Forest. The landscape is indeed quite unique. After entering the main scenic area Yinmagou, it seems like you have come to a fantasy world of stone and soil. After climbing the viewing platform at the end, you can overlook the entire stone forest. However, the means of transportation in this scenic area can be said to be extremely "rich". First, take a bus down to the river valley, then take an electric car to the trail entrance by the Yellow River. You can rent a bicycle at the trail entrance to the Yinmagou entrance. You can only take a donkey cart in Yinmagou. Finally, you have to take a desert kart to the viewing platform. In addition, there are cruise ships and helicopters to choose from (they were not open that day due to excessive water flow). It can be said to be the epitome of transportation in tourist attractions. Personally, I feel that buses, electric cars and desert karts are necessary. Donkey cars depend on personal physical strength and weather conditions (6 to 8 kilometers round trip, three hours to walk down). There is a village in the scenic area where you can stay and eat. Be careful not to go in the wrong direction when taking an electric car.
This scenic spot is too tricky. The ticket is really just an entrance ticket. Walk 5 meters from the entrance and take a bus to the bottom of the mountain. Take a battery car to the ferry at the bottom of the mountain, and take a sheepskin raft to the place where you can take the "donkey". The donkey written in the scenic spot guide is actually a horse. There are donkeys and mules. You can't go any further when you are almost at the top of the mountain. You can't go any further... Want to go? Continue to take the go-kart or walk (it's a bit far to walk). After a day, I didn't see much scenery and had to catch various transportation.
It is currently a national 4A-level scenic spot. After searching online, I found that there is not much information. It is indeed a low-profile scenic spot. After visiting, I found that the natural landscape here is definitely 5A-level.
I went there yesterday on March 18th, which is off-season. There is no entrance fee. There are many bays from the parking ticket office to the entrance of the scenic area. You can walk or take a bus for 30 round trips in the off-season. There will be locals pulling donkey carts or riding horses at the entrance of the scenic area, or you can walk in by yourself.
The Yellow River Stone Forest Grand Canyon in Baiyin, Gansu, is a great place to take photos. If I have the chance, I would like to go there again, waiting for the sunset and the sunrise.
Outside the gate of the scenic area, there is a high free observation deck, where you can have a bird's eye view of the Yellow River flowing from west to east at the bend of the Yellow River!
Silver Memories
If movies are a reflection of life, then vice versa. The experience in Baiyin is like the re-enactment of classic movies.
When I first got to know Baiyin, I found it famous nationwide because it is the setting for the Chinese version of "Memories of Murder". But apart from this horror story, there is also the Yellow River Stone Forest here, which has a different plot.
Jackie Chan filmed "The Myth" in the peaks of the Stone Forest, I filmed the Tathagata Palm in "Kung Fu" against the erosion of time on the earth wall, the galloping horse hooves blew up the wind and sand in "New Dragon Inn", and I met "King Kong" among the lifelike stone statues. What impressed me most was probably the various means of transportation in the scenic area. In addition to buses, battery cars, helicopters, cable cars, hot air balloons, there are also sheepskin rafts that cut through the Yellow River. The cool boatmen are like the backs of "Swordsman in Shuangqi Town"; I recall the off-road karts on the Xiata Ancient Road, and the roar of the engine is like the roar in "Old Boy"; and the swaying donkey cart, I lazily lay on the wooden board with a local child, and the sound of "Kikujiro's Summer" rang in my ears.
The sky was so blue, and the kids on the donkey cart and I were smiling so brightly. What a great sky, what a great donkey, and what a great us.
The scenery is really nice, but the transportation fee is a rip-off. Foreign tourists should think twice before coming here. It takes a bus, electric car, donkey cart and cable car to get to the viewing platform.
If you want to take only one photo in the Yellow River Stone Forest, then just take one photo on the viewing platform outside the fence before entering the scenic area gate. Because the biggest highlight of the Yellow River Stone Forest is the combination of the stone forest and its cliffs with the bend of the Yellow River. A more ideal angle may be to use a drone to take aerial photos, which can not only capture the junction of the stone forest and the Yellow River, but also capture the overall momentum of the thousands of peaks from a higher angle.
If you walk into the Stone Forest completely, you will still feel a little unsatisfied. First of all, in terms of color, it is basically a pure earthy yellow, and a little whitish, not as rich as the red layer and Danxia landform (in fact, there are still some red layer landscapes on the other side of the Yellow River in the distance). Then in terms of shape, although it is a stone forest, it feels more like a soil forest, and the relatively loose soil is not like real stone, which can form some more exaggerated wonders, similar to Zhangjiajie.
After entering the Stone Forest, you can take a donkey cart for a tour. It is said that the one-way trip is 4-5 kilometers, but the view is limited when sitting on the donkey cart (because there is an awning on the top of the car), so you can either stop from time to time to get off and take a walk, or consider taking the donkey cart in and walking out (because the way in is a bit uphill, and the way out is downhill).
The one-way end of the donkey cart route is the innermost part of the Stone Forest Canyon. You can also go up to a top observation deck by go-kart (there used to be a cable car, but it was recently cancelled due to environmental protection reasons). It costs a little more money to take a go-kart, but since you have come this far, you still think you can go up. The observation deck here is basically the same as the observation deck outside the scenic area in terms of altitude. However, the observation deck outside the scenic area can only see the extension of the Stone Forest and the junction with the Yellow River (this is why it is said that a better angle still depends on drones), while the observation deck inside the scenic area can be placed at the top of the core area of the Stone Forest and see more mountain forest effects. Of course, I personally think that the biggest feature is the combination with the Yellow River bend, so I recommend finding a viewing platform in the canyon, but the priority is after the viewing platform outside the scenic area (and the latter is still a place that can be reached for free!!).
Finally, because the stone forest in this area and the bend of the Yellow River are concave to the east, people standing outside the scenic area are mostly looking from the southeast, so I personally think that the best time to view the scenery is early in the morning. On the one hand, the sunlight shines obliquely from the east, and on the other hand, the softer sunlight in the morning can make the stone forest appear a softer red, rather than the yellow-white effect under the strong sun at noon.
Although the scenic spot is 4A, the travel experience is not particularly satisfactory.
The scenic area is too large and you can't drive your own car in there. The entrance fee is 40 yuan, but the total ticket price is 85 yuan, which includes two bus rides, two electric cars, and one ferry, which is a speedboat on the Yellow River. This is pretty good and is what impressed me most in the entire scenic area.
You can ride a donkey to enter the Stone Forest. If you walk, it is really far. I walked for a long time but still didn’t get there. Then I climbed a dirt slope and my feet hurt.
How to ask for leave? The Yellow River Stone Forest is quite spectacular, after all, the Yellow River is on the side, and the stone forest is tall. The disadvantages are also prominent. The scenic spot has few scenery, there is no walking plank road, and tourists walk on the stone road, which is not only physically demanding, but also reduces the travel experience.
Overall, it's worth a look, but I can only give it three stars.
The Yellow River Stone Forest, which we visited with a tour group from Lanzhou, has magnificent scenery. The means of transportation changed from time to time during the trip, including travel buses, scenic sightseeing buses, electric cars, sheepskin rafts, donkey carts, cruise ships, etc.
The Yellow River Stone Forest Rock Sugar Red Fuji has a bumper harvest this year, and friends from all over the country are welcome to come and taste it.
The entrance fee is 40 yuan per person, free for locals, free for Baiyin ID cards from Monday to Friday, and vehicles are generally not allowed to enter. After entering the gate, there are 22 consecutive bends down the mountain. You can choose to take a donkey cart down the mountain, or you can choose to walk down the mountain by yourself. The donkey cart costs 30 yuan per person and can take three people at a time. Generally, it will go directly to the starting point of the sheepskin raft, and then the sheepskin raft will be sent to the horse drinking field, which is the main viewing point of the Yellow River Stone Forest.
Due to heavy rain in the upper reaches, the water of the Yellow River was turbulent, so it was not possible to take the sheepskin raft, which was a pity. Due to personal reasons, our vehicle entered the scenic area and drove directly to the horse drinking field, which took about 10 minutes. After parking, there was a ticket check at the entrance. You need to hold the ticket at the gate to enter. After entering, a donkey cart driver will come up to ask if you want to take a donkey cart. They are all locals, and it is also 30 yuan per person, 3 people at a time. If there are exactly 4 people, you can negotiate to sit for 4 people, but one of them must walk a distance to bypass the scenic staff before you can sit on it. The donkey cart takes about half an hour. You can enjoy the canyon stone forest on both sides. You can ask the donkey driver to stop temporarily to take pictures and watch at different scenic spots. About halfway down the mountain road, the donkey cart will stop and ask if you want to take a kart. It costs 50 yuan per person, and there are 2 people in a car. You can drive it yourself, or it can be driven by local residents. It will take about 10 minutes to drive to the viewing platform. If you don’t take a kart, you can take a donkey cart back directly. From the observation deck, you can see the Yellow River, the entire Stone Forest, and the 22 bends of the mountain road. The cable car and other facilities were closed due to an accident.
In general, the ticket price for Stone Forest is about 150 per person, not including sheepskin rafts, so I feel the price/performance ratio is not very good.
The scenery is very good, it can be called the Grand Canyon of China, but the service awareness needs to be improved. This is a common problem of most Gansu tourism. It is dirty and messy. Especially the driver of bus No. 7 in the scenic area is not punctual and scolds people, which makes people lose interest in the tour. The very unique landscape is greatly reduced. Alas, when can the service awareness be improved? I can only wish that Gansu tourism will develop better and better, and not be poor despite the gold and silver mountains.
I just went to Jingtai Yellow River Stone Forest in July. I feel that the management is good. At least it can be seen that the scenic spot is working hard. From the parking lot broadcast to the scenic spot staff, they will repeatedly emphasize where to buy tickets for various means of transportation and whether it is a round-trip ticket. It feels that although the consumption is high, it is still quite clear.
Because the Yellow River was flooded, water transportation was suspended and I was unable to take the sheepskin raft. My expenses: ticket + scenic area bus + battery car totaled 85, and then I changed to a donkey cart, which was 90 for a round trip and could seat 4 people.
The cableway to the top has been closed due to safety issues. If you don’t want to climb the mountain yourself, you can rent a go-kart to go up. It costs 50 yuan per person for a round trip. It’s also quite fun to drive the go-kart yourself.
I have to say that the management of the Yellow River Stone Forest National Geopark is still good. The charges in the scenic area are clearly marked and uniformly managed. We met a local fellow at the gate. He has been doing business in the scenic area. You can charter his car to enter the scenic area. The price is cheaper than buying a sightseeing car in the scenic area. There are sightseeing cars in the scenic area. From the entrance of the scenic area to the scenic area, there is a long winding mountain road going down. If you walk down, it is very challenging to walk up (all slopes). The transportation in the scenic area is as follows: there are scenic area cars operating from the entrance of the scenic area to the Yellow River Ferry; at the ferry, you can take a yacht to the Yinmagou Scenic Area; then you can walk, or take a donkey cart or horse, all the way to the cable car operation point (it was closed when we went there). The journey is round trip; then you can continue walking (if you have enough energy), or take a kart (one car can take four people, one of whom is the owner of the car) directly to the Yellow River Scenic Area, where the Yellow River flows from east to west through the stone forest. You can also experience sheepskin rafts at the Yellow River Pier.
It is not a famous scenic spot, but it is very unique. The filming location of Jackie Chan's movie "The Myth", the Loess Grand Canyon, is vicissitudes and spectacular, and it is worth a visit.
I took a bus from Jingtai to Shilin at 9:30 on the 29th, and the whole journey took an hour and a half. There are three buses from Jingtai to Shilin, at 9, 11, and 4 pm. You don't need to buy tickets in advance. The return trip is at 3:30 in the afternoon, and there is only one trip. It is more convenient to go to Shilin from Baiyin, which is about 30 kilometers. I started from Shijiazhuang, went to Zhongwei first, then Jingtai, then Baiyin, and finally returned to Lanzhou. The trains from Zhongwei to Baiyin are not very suitable. They either arrive in the afternoon or midnight, or leave in the early morning, so I didn't leave from Baiyin.
There are pros and cons to taking the shuttle bus. The pros are that the shuttle bus can go directly to the ferry where you can take the sheepskin raft (the road is currently under construction and can only go to the entrance of Longwan Village, but you can reach the ferry by walking through Longwan Village for 10 minutes). External vehicles can only go to the entrance of the scenic area. There is still a long winding mountain road from the ferry. You can choose to walk or take a sightseeing bus to go up and down the mountain, 15 yuan down the mountain, and 30 yuan up the mountain. Although the shuttle bus can save these 45, the disadvantage is that the shuttle bus will go directly down to Longwan Village and will not stop on the mountain. From the mountain, you can have a complete view of the entire stone forest and Longwan Village, which is "carved on the wall" and built along the river. The view is very wide. Therefore, it is recommended to take the shuttle bus to the entrance of the scenic area, watch for a while on the mountain, and then spend 15 yuan to go down to the ferry (there are many sightseeing buses, and they will stop when you wave. It is not recommended to take the winding mountain road, which is a bit dangerous. Leave the mobile phone number of the shuttle bus driver or crew member. If you really can't find the shuttle bus, you can ask the villagers)
You must take a sheepskin raft to the Stone Forest Viewing Area at the ferry (you must take a speedboat on the return trip, and it seems that you can also take a sightseeing bus around the river to go back and forth between the two ferry crossings). One raft costs 90 and a maximum of 3 people. I came alone to play, and the staff suggested that I find someone to share a raft with. In the end, I found a lone person and shared a raft with him, 45 per person. The sheepskin raft is very stable and it takes about 20 minutes to float over, which is quite interesting.
It was a bit cloudy when I arrived at Shilin, but it didn't affect the view and I was lucky to avoid the high temperature. I walked halfway up the mountain and took photos while walking. I rented a horse for the second half, which cost 50 yuan (80 yuan for a round trip). Because I was carrying a bag, my shoulders hurt when the horse trotted. Don't expect to take photos. Those who are skilled and brave can try it, but I don't dare. There are paid projects such as zip lines on the top of the mountain, which require cash. On the way back, I took a donkey (donkeys are round-trip, and they are owned by farmers. If you don't take a car when you go up the mountain, you can find a farmer to pull you down the mountain. It only costs 10 yuan). On the way back, the sky was completely clear, and the donkey cart with a sunshade was quite useful.
We returned to the shuttle bus point at 3 o'clock, arrived at the scenic spot at 11 o'clock, and returned at 3 o'clock, which took about four hours. On the winding mountain road, I took a look at Longwan Village and Stone Forest. It was so beautiful. I wonder how beautiful it will be after sunset. I was still not satisfied. I really wanted to stay in the village for one night to see the night view again, but because I had to go to Tongcheng Baiyin and stay at Baiyin Hotel, I gave up. It was a bit regretful...
The second day of Qingming Festival
This is the Jingtai Yellow River Stone Forest, which has been rated as a national geological park. It is a geological relic nature reserve in Gansu Province and a national AAAA-level scenic spot. It is a comprehensive geological park that integrates landform geology, geological structure, natural landscape and cultural history. It cleverly combines ancient stone forests, the Yellow River, deserts, oases, Gobi and farms, perfectly presenting a paradise-like landscape.
It was a little late when we arrived at the scenic spot, so we couldn't visit it today. We bought tickets for 40 yuan and transportation fees for 85 yuan, including the scenic car and yacht. (Some transportation fees can be waived) In front of the gate of the scenic spot, there were local farmers who introduced accommodation. We chose a farmer's house in the Stone Forest Scenic Area, and we could drive the car directly into the scenic area.
I went there three years ago and had great memories, especially the experience of riding a sheepskin raft on the Yellow River.
It is recommended to go through the South Gate instead of the North Gate, otherwise your car will have to take a ferry at the North Gate for 20 yuan/car. After returning, it will cost another 20 yuan/car. The ticket is 40 yuan (parking fee is 10 yuan). To the North Gate, you have to cross the Yellow River and take a ferry to the South Gate for 5 yuan/person. After playing, cross the Yellow River and take a ferry for 5 yuan/person. To the North Gate. The scenic area has strengthened management, the service is too poor, and the attitude is bad. After arriving at the South Gate, you have to take a sheepskin raft for 90 yuan/raft for 3 people. You can also take a cruise for 50 yuan/person, drift to the Yinmagou Grand Canyon, and take a sheepskin raft (cruise) to enter the Grand Canyon. This is the Yellow River Stone Forest. You can take a donkey for 90 yuan/car for 3 to 4 people. You can also ride a horse for one person, and it also needs to be charged. It seems that it is 50 yuan/horse and can only take one person. Go to the Grand Canyon to see the beauty of nature. It is recommended to walk in, and then take a cable car to the top of the mountain for 60 yuan/person without round trip. You can also take a kart for 50 yuan/person and can take 2 people. Round trip. I also hope that the management department can properly manage the vehicles pulling sheepskin rafts from downstream at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour. Do you value money over life? The entire management of the scenic area is very chaotic and unprofessional.
The scenery is beautiful and there are many features, but the management is a bit chaotic
The attitude is extremely bad. It's so expensive. Don't go there. It's the world of Longwan people. The management is bad and the attitude is bad. I lost interest before I even entered. They destroyed the scenic area. It's a waste of such beautiful scenery.
Tourists' cars are not allowed to drive into the scenic area. Only the villagers' own cars can drive in. Local villagers also take advantage of the tourism industry to open farmhouses and make some money by providing pick-ups and drop-offs to scenic spots.
If you don't take the villagers' car, in theory you should first take a bus to Shilin Square, then change to an electric car to the sheepskin raft pier, and then choose a sheepskin raft or yacht to cross the river to reach Yinmagou pier.
You can take the villagers' car directly to the Yinmagou Wharf. You can stop at any time to take pictures. In fact, there is a road that can directly reach Yinmagou without crossing the river by boat. If you want to experience the sheepskin raft alone, you can sit at the pier. It costs less than taking a boat across the river.

The Yellow River Stone Forest National Geopark is 203 kilometers away from Shapotou, Ningxia, 80 kilometers away from Baiyin, and 160 kilometers away from Lanzhou. We set out from Shapotou at 2 pm, took the Dingwu Expressway to Jingtai County, and then took the S201 Provincial Road. We arrived at the entrance of the scenic area at 6 pm. The 201 Provincial Road was under construction and the road was very bad. It took almost 2 hours to travel 68 kilometers. At night we stayed in a farmhouse in the scenic village. The room cost 120 yuan. The environment was not bad. There was no WiFi, but we could take a shower. The next day, starting in the morning, we tried various means of transportation, including donkey carts, sheepskin rafts, and desert motorcycles. It felt pretty good. Finally, we climbed to the top of the mountain to feel the masterpiece of nature.
It's a very special scenic spot with many means of transportation, including buses, electric cars, sheepskin rafts, donkey carts and horses.
The local transportation experience is very interesting. First, you use a sheepskin raft to pass through the turbulent water, then take a donkey cart, and then take the cable car, an experience from water to sky. Finally, you climb to the top of the mountain and your vision suddenly broadens to feel the majestic and spectacular mountains.
A paradise on earth, a very peaceful place, a perfect place to take pictures of the starry sky at night.
The local customs are quite simple and the villagers are very easy-going. After playing all the itineraries at around 3 pm, I went to his house with a fellow villager to have dinner. The food was delicious, the people were kind, and the price was affordable ~ great ~
It is the trace left by the Yellow River. There is no river, no forest, only a road, a road under the river. . .
Experience the Yellow River and choose from a variety of transportation options
Go to the Yellow River Stone Forest and stay in Longwan Village next to the Stone Forest. This is a very wonderful village. Surrounded by the Gobi Desert, it is an oasis because the Yellow River turns here to form a small bay. This village was once rated as one of the ten most beautiful villages in China. It is desolate, quiet and warm. Living in a farmhouse and eating delicious farmhouse meals is really a pleasure. In the Stone Forest, you can walk by yourself or take a donkey cart driven by the locals. The little donkey has long eyelashes, a gentle look, and a hard-working look, which makes people feel compassion. At the end of the Stone Forest is the Yellow River. You can take a motorboat to take a circle on the Yellow River. It is a beautiful scenery different from the green mountains and waters in the south, and a fresh experience.
Besides the fact that all the projects are so expensive, the road from the entrance to the electric car transfer station is in a state of disrepair, and the public transportation is always so slow and you have to wait. It seems that you don’t need to spend so much money, but it actually costs a lot! When I asked if I could drive in at the entrance of the scenic spot, they firmly said no and yelled at me... Then they let several local cars in and nodded and bowed. I asked them why they were allowed to enter, and they said they were locals and knew people, and they just couldn’t stand this kind of special treatment.
A paradise on earth, a place where people can really touch the water of the Yellow River! Beautiful!
The Yellow River Stone Forest is located in Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, 70 kilometers from Baiyin, 160 kilometers from Lanzhou, 120 kilometers from Zhongchuan Airport, 170 kilometers from Shapotou, Ningxia, and 390 kilometers from Yinchan. It has a total area of about 50 square kilometers. It was formed in the conglomerate of the Wuquanshan Formation of the Lower Pleistocene 2.1 million years ago. It is a geological and geomorphic landscape mainly controlled by neotectonic movements, rain and flood erosion, gravity collapse and wind erosion. Its formation and evolution process clearly records the changes in the paleogeographic environment of this area since the uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is a conglomerate rock forest geological landscape with international typical significance and great scientific research value; it is a comprehensive geological relic integrating geomorphic geology, geological structure, natural landscape and human history. It is a geological relic nature reserve and national geological park in Gansu Province.
With the broadcast of Where Are We Going, Dad?...
The management and appearance of the scenic spot are very formal (4A scenic spot): the ticket office is very eye-catching, and there are public toilets next to it, etc.
The ticket to the Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area is 40 yuan, bundled with a transportation fee of 65 yuan. The transportation fee includes the sightseeing bus, electric car, and a one-way yacht fee across the Yellow River. For these three modes of transportation, 65 yuan is enough to comfort me.
So, these 105 yuan cannot be saved.
After I bought the ticket, I was arranged in a van and driven down from the entrance of the scenic area on the top of the mountain along the sharp winding mountain road: this is the first scenic spot "22 Bends", along the way you can overlook the scenery below the mountain and the direction of the Yellow River. The road surface is badly damaged in many places, and it is still a little difficult to navigate with relatively bumpy and sharp turns.
It only took about 10 minutes by car, and we quickly drove down the "22 bends" and changed to an electric car after arriving at the Yellow River Stone Forest Cultural Square.
The battery car took me through a village in the scenic area - "Longwan Village". There are many farmhouses in the village now, so eating and staying are not a problem, it's very convenient. It was noon when I arrived, and I was a little hungry, so I had a farmhouse meal, which was expensive anyway.
After arriving at the "Yangskin Raft Wharf" and taking photos, I became confused: the real Yellow River Stone Forest is in the "Yinmagou" scenic area on the other side of the Yellow River. How can I get there?
One method: spend 10 or 20 yuan, find a minivan to take you to the "Yinmagou Wharf" over there, and then enter the "Yinmagou";
Another way is to take a sheepskin raft here (Yinmagou Wharf) and cross to the opposite "Yinmagou Wharf", which costs 90 yuan. (The 65 yuan scenic area transportation fee only includes the round-trip bus, round-trip electric car, and the one-way yacht fee from the "Yinmagou" Wharf on the opposite bank back to the "Yinmagou Wharf".
As soon as we entered Yinmagou, we saw many local horsemen gathered together to solicit customers. Upon asking, we learned that the ditch is 4.5 kilometers one way, and nearly 10 kilometers round trip! Moreover, the gravel road in the ditch is exposed to the sun and dusty, so it is quite tiring to hike.
The round trip fare for an animal-powered cart is 90 yuan; the round trip fare for a horse is 80 yuan, and it takes an hour to reach the end of the canyon.
I took a lot of photos in the canyon. When I reached Yinmagou Canyon, some tourists turned back. I learned that there is an observation deck on the top of the mountain.
One way is to take the cable car, which costs 60 yuan per person for a round trip; while driving a four-wheel off-road motorcycle to the top of the mountain to view the scenery costs 80 yuan per vehicle for a round trip.
There is actually not just one observation deck on the top of the mountain, but many, scattered across several hills, connected by brick corridors, which requires you to have enough patience.
Before entering the scenic area, I didn't have too many hopes, but after coming out I felt it was better than I expected. After all, the road was relatively tortuous and varied, and the transition between various means of transportation brought me a certain fun and unknown. Although the light was not ideal, it was better than haze, fog, rain or something like that.
Baiyin Stone Forest is a typical northwest scenery. The facilities there are relatively backward and primitive, but you can also take various means of transportation on the water, such as speedboats and sheepskin rafts. Be careful to manage your time, because if you take too long to walk there, there will be no bus back to Lanzhou. You can also take a donkey cart inside. There are loess mountains on both sides, which is very desolate. Many movies are filmed here. If you stay here, you can watch the sunset. You must take the last cable car. The scenery on the top of the mountain is very beautiful.
The total area of Jingtai Yellow River Stone Forest National Geopark is about 50 square kilometers, including 10 square kilometers of ancient stone forests. Jingtai Yellow River Stone Forest National Geopark is located in Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province. In 2007, good news came from the National Tourism Administration that the Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area in Jingtai County, Gansu Province successfully passed the review of the National Tourism Scenic Area Quality Grading Committee and was approved by the National Tourism Administration as a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
Jingtai Yellow River Stone Forest National Geopark is a scenic spot that has not been officially open for a long time. It is located on the bank of the Yellow River in Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province. The stone forest area of the scenic spot is about 10 square kilometers. It is now a 4A-level national tourist attraction. According to reports, the formation of this stone forest scenic spot should be the result of geological movement and the diversion of the Yellow River. Due to factors such as geographical location, although it began to be developed in 2001, the scenic spot was not more famous at first. Later, the movie "Myth" was filmed here, and later CCTV's "Home Far Away" column included Jingtai Stone Forest as one of the contents. After the program was broadcast, the Yellow River Stone Forest became more and more famous. In addition, the local government (perhaps the developer of the Stone Forest Park) increased investment in infrastructure. Now the roads leading to the scenic spot in the county and Baiyin City have been completely renovated, and it is quite convenient to go to the scenic spot. Of course, the number of tourists is also slowly increasing. The stone forest in the scenic area is magnificent and strange. The development of Shilin has also made the small mountain village, which was once a paradise, uneasy (the reason why I want to mention this small mountain village is that there may be some problems in the distribution of benefits between the developers and the villagers. Therefore, many tourists will feel that the scenic area is relatively chaotic after visiting it, which may be an objective reality in the short term). If you don’t walk to visit the scenic area now, you must take a shuttle bus, electric car, yacht, motorboat, donkey car, cable car, mountain car to complete the entire scenic area tour (also a problem of benefit distribution). But in any case, this scenic spot is still worth a visit. According to my personal travel experience, at this stage, the most convenient way to travel is to find local people at the entrance of the scenic spot and use their car to take you to all the attractions in the scenic area. This is both trouble-free and convenient. Since foreign vehicles are not allowed to enter the scenic area, it is not very convenient to stay there now. It is recommended to visit the scenic area within one day and return to the county town or Baiyin City for accommodation.
To be fair, the landscape of the Yellow River Stone Forest is very beautiful, but the operation and management of the scenic area are really not satisfactory.
There are strange rocks along the way, and the driver will give some pointers from time to time. Whether it looks like it or not depends on your imagination. After arriving at the cable car station, you can get off and move freely, and you can take the cable car to the observation deck. In terms of scenery alone, the various shapes of the stone forest landforms are still worth praising.
**********【Yellow River Stone Forest recommendation (full score 3 stars): 2 stars, please avoid peak hours】**********
I feel like I can try all kinds of transportation, including buses, battery cars, sheepskin rafts, donkey carts, cable cars, and horseback riding...
Private cars are not allowed to enter the Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area (I saw many private cars coming in, probably the relatives of some leader). Buy a ticket and take a unified bus through the gate. The bus will take you to the sheepskin raft dock upstream of the river. Someone who has been here before said that it was not like this before. It was taken directly to the entrance of the Stone Forest. Now, probably in order to generate income for the scenic area and the people, the sheepskin raft has been silently turned into a mandatory project, because if you don't take the raft and float down, you can only walk a long way to get there.
It's really hard not to complain about the management of the scenic area and the means of making money. When you play in the Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area, you can definitely experience all kinds of transportation at once, and sit until you vomitლ(・´ェ`・ლ)!
Bus→→Raft→→Donkey cart or horseback riding→→Kart or cable car→→Bus
You ask if it’s okay not to sit? Of course! You’ll walk until you vomit blood and become cinders from the sun. It’s at least 7/8 kilometers from the entrance to the highest point of the stone forest, and there’s not even a shade along the way. . .
You must go to the end of the stone forest and climb to the top of the mountain to see the whole stone forest. The view from above is completely different from the view at the bottom of the canyon. This is the power of the creator! This strange yellow peak forest landscape stretches for several kilometers, and you can't see the end of it. Fortunately, I didn't get lazy, otherwise such a good view would be a waste. I really don't understand why people know so little about such a stunning and magnificent scenery?
As soon as you enter the gate of the scenic area by taking the scenic area shuttle bus, you will see a bright and clear view. Under the yellow steep rock wall is the gentle and wide Yellow River and the green village. The Yellow River suddenly turns a huge bend at the end of your sight and disappears into the horizon. The scenery is very spectacular. After the shuttle bus goes down the rock wall, you can change to an electric car to reach the rafting ferry. Take a sheepskin raft to drift along the river for about 20 minutes, and go ashore to the entrance of the Yellow River Stone Forest. The rafting on the Yellow River in this section is completely different from the rafting on the Yellow River in Shapotou and other places. The yellow rock wall standing in the distance and the blue sky and white clouds have clear lines, as if outlined by a brush. The river water flows faster at the bend, and countless small whirlpools on the river surface make a rustling sound, wetting the cushion of the sheepskin raft. It is really special to feel the Yellow River so close.
The Yellow River Stone Forest is actually a canyon carved out by a river. On both sides of the canyon are yellow peaks of various shapes, ranging in height from 30 to 100 meters. Along the winding canyon, sitting in a donkey cart with clear bell sounds, looking up to admire the tall peaks of various shapes, you will feel relaxed and open-minded, as if you have come to a paradise isolated from the world. During this time, we passed the filming location of Jackie Chan's movie "Legend".
At the end of the canyon is a cableway that takes you up to the peaks and overlooks the panoramic view of the stone forest. The view from the top of the peaks is completely different from that from the bottom of the canyon. The disorderly and peculiarly shaped yellow-green peaks are more eye-catching. The green forest, the Yellow River, and the blue sky in the distance outline the edge of the peaks. The white clouds passing by cast huge shadows on the peaks. The changing tones inside and outside the shadows make the peaks even more mysterious.
I feel that the Yellow River Stone Forest is seriously underestimated and there are not many tourists. It is incomprehensible that inter-provincial tour groups would rather go to man-made garbage like Jiayuguan Pass than come to such a place with such unique landforms.
The most amazing thing about this scenic spot is the standardized service, which I think is due to the clever management methods of the village committee or the scenic spot. Starting from the entrance to the scenic spot, if tourists accept a business card from one farmhouse, they will never give it to the second one, and there is no vicious competition or customer snatching; entering the village, the roads and courtyards are clean and tidy, very organized, and the thoughtful and considerate service makes tourists feel comfortable.
The management of the Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area is chaotic, with people and cars mixed together. The small village has no trace of simplicity. Sightseeing cars, tricycles, cars, and trucks are speeding past on the narrow road without regard for pedestrian safety. Pedestrians are almost squeezed to walk along the roadside, and walking all the way is almost walking in the dust! The feeling here is really too bad! Just take a quick photo here!
Not bad~ Various things to play~ sheepskin rafts, donkey carts, go-karts~ It's just a little too much, and you have to pay for everything~
Because we entered the scenic area by chance in the evening, we didn't buy the main ticket (I guess you can ask the hotel to drive you in), the main ticket is more than 110, it seems that it is mandatory to take the speedboat back to the main attraction. I have consulted the information before, and I am very happy that the Yellow River Stone Forest is destined for us - sheepskin rafts, donkey carts, and karts can carry up to three people, one more or one less person is not the most cost-effective hehe ~ In the morning, ask the village chief to take us to the pier (in fact, the village chief's house is very close to the pier), buy tickets to enter the scenic area (here is only a separate ticket, 40 yuan).
It is recommended to choose a donkey cart for round trip, which is just enough for three people (the donkey can't pull more than one person~), stop and go along the way, listen to the big brother and sister driving the cart introduce various strange rocks, stop to take pictures when you see a good-looking one, and you can also tease the stubborn donkey, which is quite fun. Of course, there are also people who have time to walk all the way, which is actually not tiring, as long as there is enough time.
At the end of the donkey cart, there is a go-kart that takes you to the bottom of the observation deck. It costs 40 yuan per person for three people. It is a round trip.
If you have time, you can take a look around after climbing up to the high observation deck.
You have to be there to feel the magnificence and a little bit of oppression of the stone forest. Climb up the stone steps and you can overlook the entire stone forest. The real scene is super shocking~
It is nice to go rafting on the Yellow River on a sheepskin raft and see the Yellow River Stone Forest.
The Yellow River Stone Forest is beautiful, but apart from the beautiful scenery, the rest... Let's talk about the unreasonable transportation. The sheepskin raft you take here is a one-way trip. When you return, you have to take a van. The van actually charges 120 yuan. It's not that far. It's almost like robbing. We walked back.
As for the management in the scenic area, it can be said that this scenic area is all return without investment. There is only one toilet at the door, which is so dirty that you can't put your feet down. There are no rest facilities in the scenic area, including explanations. The only thing is that there are groups of donkey carts, Latin carts, horses, and vans, and there is no order. They start to solicit passengers as soon as they enter the Grand Canyon, and drive randomly on the road. There is almost no place for pedestrians to walk. We go out to travel to see the scenery, and sitting in the car is like rushing on the road. What can we see? Later, I learned that the donkeys, horses, and carts here are all owned by the villagers. They can earn more money by pulling more trips, but they are not trying to squeeze in to solicit passengers to save time.
This is a scenic spot that has not been developed much. In fact, it is not a complete scenic spot, but a half-scenic spot and half-rural area. Therefore, the number of people coming here now is not as large as that of other scenic spots.
However, you still have to buy a ticket to enter. The ticket is 40 yuan, and students can pay half price at 20 yuan. Then you have to change buses to get there, so you have to pay for transportation. Please note that the transportation costs here only include the round-trip bus and the return cruise ship, so you must take a sheepskin raft when you go. The sheepskin raft costs 90 yuan per raft and can accommodate three people. It is best to travel in groups.
I began to revel in this deserted place. It was quiet and spectacular. No one was competing with you for the view. You could shout loudly and enjoy the echo. It was really great!
It is said that Longwan Village is one of the 10 most beautiful villages in China. I don't know if it is the most beautiful village, but the surging Yellow River turns a corner here. The various stalagmites and stone pillars on the bank of the Yellow River make this small village extremely mysterious. After getting off the boat, you will face a narrow ditch sandwiched by stalagmites and stone pillars. The ditch is very deep. There are donkey carts carrying people, 30 yuan per person. Sitting on the donkey cart and walking into the depths of the ditch, the huge rocks washed out by the Yellow River cover the sky and the sun, as if you are in a movie scene, as if there will be bandits rushing out from the depths of the ditch at any time. If there are not many tourists accompanying you, walking alone in such a stone forest ditch is really a bit annoying. The scenery here is indeed peculiar, but it is too commercialized and not well managed. Under the morning glow, the stone pillars in pieces really look like a forest. The smoke from cooking in Longwan Village is curling, and it looks quiet. It is no longer the gloomy feeling in the stone forest yesterday.
After breakfast, we will head to the southeast of Jingtai County, Baiyin City, adjacent to Longwan Village, Zhongquan Township. It is surrounded by mountains, with a quiet environment, fresh air and beautiful scenery. The most distinctive ancient stone forest group is large in scale, covering an area of about 10 square kilometers. The stone forest landscape in the scenic area is dependent on the meandering mountains and rivers of the Yellow River, which has the charm of a natural garden. Today's highlights: Experience the oldest sheepskin raft, the rocky Yellow River Stone Forest
Recommended food: Yellow River Stone Forest Farmhouse Meals, pure green food, natural and pollution-free
Tips: Pay attention to personal safety when rafting on sheepskin rafts, and make sure electronic devices are waterproof
After playing in Zhangye, I went to the Yellow River Stone Forest in Baiyin. The fastest way to get to the Yellow River Stone Forest from Zhangye is by bus. The train needs to transfer from Lanzhou and take a detour. Buy a ticket from Zhangye West Bus Station to Jingtai County Bus Station. There are two buses from Jingtai County Bus Station to the Yellow River Stone Forest, one at 9:30 in the morning and the other at 5:30 in the afternoon. All those coming from Zhangye must arrive at Jingtai County Bus Station before 5:30 to take the bus from Jingtai to the Yellow River Stone Forest. The bus goes directly to Longwan Village in the Yellow River Stone Forest, and there is no need to buy tickets or electric car fees.
The landforms in the geological park are really shocking. The most expensive ticket prices are quite a rip-off. Seeing this magical sight, I tolerated the unrealistic ticket prices. I experienced various means of transportation in the park, including buses, electric cars, sheepskin rafts, donkey carts, and cable cars. . . I don't know who named the Yellow River Stone Forest. In fact, the Yellow River Stone Forest is neither a river nor a forest, but the path that the ancient Yellow River took tens of millions of years ago. I have watched many documentaries about national parks, but I didn't expect that one day I would be able to get close to these landforms formed 4 million years ago. Sitting on a donkey cart and looking up at the canyon, I wondered at what moment the surging Yellow River stopped abruptly. Now, only silent stones are left in the former river valley, and those weathered and rain-eroded canyons tell of vicissitudes of life. . .
There are not many people, and the tickets are not expensive, but the transportation fees are more than 200 yuan. The scenic spot is still good. Dad, where are we going? I filmed the Yellow River Stone Forest here. The most disappointing thing is that the tickets are very cheap, only 40 yuan, but the transportation fee is very expensive, adding up to nearly 200 yuan, and you need to take a bus-battery car-sheepskin raft-donkey cart-cable car. It is understandable that the scenic spot is for profit, but making it so complicated is not conducive to management and it is a hassle for tourists.
Here is a suggestion for everyone. The scenic spot package can only go to the Yellow River. If you want to go to the main scenic spot,
Here is a suggestion for everyone. The scenic area package can only go to the Yellow River. If you want to go to the main scenic area, you must take a sheepskin raft. When you arrive at the main scenic area, walk or take a donkey cart for 5 kilometers to the viewing platform. You can choose to go to the viewing platform by cable car or kart. I recommend taking the cable car for 60 yuan per person for a round trip, so that you can see the panoramic view of the entire scenic area and go directly to the viewing platform. You can't see it by kart, and you still need to walk.
After some sightseeing and bumpy ride along the way, we arrived at the Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Area around 2 pm.
Facing the morning glow, we were the first to take a sheepskin raft and slowly move towards the scenic area. Compared with nature, we humans are so small.
While riding on a sheepskin raft on the Yellow River, I took these beautiful photos of the complete sunrise over the Yellow River Stone Forest.
The Yellow River Stone Forest and the Stone Forest in Kunming are two completely different concepts, but they are equally shocking, except that the shock here is the kind of rough feeling. You can clearly see the ups and downs of the mountains and the height difference. Whenever I encounter such a scene, I want to sigh at this mysterious nature.
Spectacular! The scenery is different at every time! The mood is different the moment you see it
One of the iconic landscapes of the Yellow River Stone Forest National Geopark - Smiling all the time
The Yellow River Stone Forest was formed in the geological era of the late Tertiary and early Quaternary more than 4 million years ago. Due to the movement of the earth's crust, the stone forest landform with various shapes and shapes, mainly yellow river-lake sandstone, was formed. The Stone Forest Scenic Area has steep cliffs in the sky, with a myriad of scenes, winding paths, and changing scenery. Its shape is made by nature and is like a dream masterpiece of a sculptor. "Guanyin Meditation", "Qu Yuan Asking the Sky", "Mulan Expedition", "Lovers Under the Moon", "Ten-Li Screen", "Ancient Tianqiao Road", "One Line of Sky" and other stone pillars, stalagmites and stone forest landscapes of various shapes and shapes, which are tens of meters or even hundreds of meters high, can be seen everywhere. The Yellow River, the mother river of the Chinese nation, forms an S-shaped backwater bay here and enters the Ningxia territory from south to north. In addition to the towering stone forest on the east bank of the river, there is also the "Longwan Oasis" with lush forests and mountains facing the river.
It is a very worthwhile place to visit, very unique. However, private cars are not allowed to enter the scenic area, and you can only take the tourist bus of the scenic area. At the entrance of the Stone Forest, you can change to a local donkey cart and walk and see. At the end of the scenic area, you can climb up the mountain to continue to enjoy the surrounding scenery. There are local sports cars here (each car can take two people, and the ticket price is 50 yuan per person). It takes about 1 kilometer to the bottom of the hillside. It is not recommended to take it because it is too expensive.
