Danxia Mountain is the largest scenic spot in Guangdong, with Danxia landform as the main landscape. It is known as one of the four famous mountains in Guangdong together with Dinghu Mountain, Luofu Mountain and Xiqiao Mountain.
It is mainly divided into Danxia Scenic Area, Shaoshi Scenic Area, Bazhai Scenic Area, Xianrenji Scenic Area and Jinjiang Gallery Scenic Area.
There are more than 800 Buddhist temples and cave temple sites. Scholars from past dynasties left many poems and cliff carvings here, which have great historical and cultural value.
Danxia Mountain is known as the "Natural Sex Culture Museum" for its unique and divine-looking Yang Yuan Stone, Double Milk Stone, Sleeping Beauty, etc.

It is mainly divided into two scenic areas, Changlao Peak and Yangyuan Stone Scenic Area, which can be completed in one day. There is a free shuttle bus to Changlao Peak and the cable car at the tourist center at the gate of Danxia Mountain.
I stayed at a homestay in Yaotang New Village the night before. The next day, I got up early and drove to the cable car, and took a bus to the Changlao Peak Scenic Area. I don't recommend taking the cable car, because after taking the cable car up the mountain, you still need to walk for 40 minutes to reach the top. It's not that you reach the top of the mountain after taking the cable car, and you can't see any scenery on the cable car. You can go up the mountain from Changlao Peak and then go down the mountain to Yinyuan Stone without going back. Climbing in the Changlao Peak Scenic Area is not too tiring, and the elderly and children can go forward.
The Yangyuanshi Scenic Area is much more commercialized and has more people. It is recommended to park at the Changlaofeng Scenic Area parking lot and then walk into the scenic area. There are many food stalls and snack streets outside the scenic area.
The Jiujiu Sky Ladder and the Yunya Plank Road are quite thrilling and exciting. They are not recommended for people who are afraid of heights, the elderly and children. Many places require the use of hands and feet and are quite difficult to walk. Those who lack physical strength can walk to the Yangyuan Stone Viewing Platform and then go back.
There are three main scenic spots for visiting Danxia Mountain: Yangyuan, Changlao Peak and Xianglong Lake. Those who are physically fit and not afraid of fatigue can complete the tour in one day, but the best option is to arrive at noon, visit Yangyuan Scenic Area in the afternoon, stay in the scenic area for one night, go to Changlao Peak to watch the sunrise early the next morning, visit Changlao Peak Scenic Area, go down the mountain and take a boat back to the exit.
There are 24-hour tour buses between the two scenic spots, but you need to call before 8:30 a.m. and after 5:30 p.m. to use the bus. There is a contact number in the waiting booth of the visitor center. At other times, there is a bus every 15 minutes. But some tour bus drivers are too quick. You must stand up and wave when you see the bus coming, otherwise it will drive away in half a second, and you have to wait patiently for the next bus.
The whole Danxia Mountain didn't give me much of a surprise in the past two days, but it was still nice to visit once. The main reason was the bad weather. Mountaineering and looking far away are the main experience of the scenic area, but it was always foggy and not refreshing in the past two days. If you are lucky enough to catch good weather, the experience will be better.
The scenic spot is still very good. Although it is a bit cold to travel on this day, the morning fog is particularly beautiful, like a fairyland in the clouds and mist. If you have time, slow down and slowly experience the air in the mountains. It is a different feeling. There is also the Niubi Village. It feels like a paradise. Choose Vienna Hotel for accommodation. It opened this year and has a good environment. Danxia Mountain welcomes you.
Danxia Mountain, also known as China Red Stone Park, is located in Renhua County, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. It is named after the Danxia landform. It is a world geological park that integrates national scenic spots, national nature reserves, national geological parks, and national AAAAA-level tourist attractions. It is famous for the Yangyuan Stone and Yinyuan Stone in the scenic area, and is an amazing tourist destination.
Maybe I have seen too many Danxia landforms, so I feel that the scenery here is quite ordinary. In terms of color, it is far inferior to the colorful Danxia landform in Zhangye, and the same type is much inferior to Wuyi Mountain in Fujian. If you are visiting the surrounding areas of Guangdong, you might as well go to Gaoyiling in Chenzhou, Hunan. If you are visiting Shaoguan, I recommend going to the Guangdong Grand Canyon in Ruyuan.
Shaoguan Danxia Mountain is located in Renhua County, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, with a total area of 292 square kilometers.
It is the largest scenic spot in Guangdong Province, a scenic spot dominated by Danxia landforms, and a world natural heritage site.
Danxia landform is the result of long-term weathering and stripping of red sandstone and erosion by running water, forming isolated peaks and steep rocks, and the development of vertical joints in thick red sand and conglomerate layers.
Danxia Mountain Scenic Area is roughly divided into three scenic areas: Yangyuan Mountain, Changlao Peak, and Bazhai. The scenic area ticket is 100 yuan, and Danxia water cruise, bamboo raft rafting, and cable car projects require additional tickets. The mountains and rivers are beautiful, and it combines strangeness, danger, and beauty. It has the characteristics of one danger, two strangeness, and three beauty.
The Strange Face Cliff and the Cloud Cliff Plank Road are endless stairs. After climbing one section, there is another section, which seems to have no end. All the stairs are carved out of the cliff. There is no steepest, only steeper. Many sections are almost vertical stairs that can only accommodate one person. To pass on such a mountain road, you must use your hands and feet. The elderly, children, and people with heart disease should walk with caution.
The scenery is great, worth a visit, recommended!!
Shaoguan Danxia Mountain is mainly for seeing Yangyuan Stone and Yinyuan Stone, and feeling the magic of nature. There are free buses in the scenic area. Look at the sign in front of the bus to see whether it is entering or leaving the scenic area. Drivers generally don't like to answer questions. The free scenic area bus has four stops. The first stop is Yangyuan Stone Scenic Area, the second stop is the Visitor Center (accommodation and meals), the third stop is Changlaofeng Cableway, and the fourth stop is Changlaofeng Scenic Area (see Yinyuan Stone). The ticket is 100 yuan and is valid for 48 hours. Tickets and fingerprints are required when entering the scenic area. One day is enough to see the main attractions. If you want to see each attraction, you need two days. You must keep up with your physical strength. The elderly and children with weak bodies should do what they can. Some roads are difficult to walk and the steps are steep.
It's worth a visit. The scenic area is very large. It takes 3 hours to go all the way to the Elder Peak. The next day, we went to watch the sunrise. It also took more than 30 minutes to climb from the foot of the mountain. Fortunately, the hotel owner drove us to the foot of the mountain in the dark, which saved us a lot of time. It was a pity that we didn't see the sunrise.
The scenic area is very large, and it takes 2 days to play around. If you want to finish it, you need 3 days. The staff inside are all very nice and enthusiastic. The transportation is quite convenient, but if you come from Guangzhou, you have to transfer in Shaoguan. There are many buses from Shaoguan East Station to Danxia Mountain. There are also buses from Shaoguan Station, but the frequency is not as high as Shaoguan East Station.
Accommodation is relatively cheap, but overall the food is expensive. You can still find relatively cheaper places outside the scenic area.
Danxia Mountain, located in Renhua County, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, is the place where the world's "Danxia landform" was named and a national 5A-level scenic spot.
The representative of Danxia landform, it is recommended not to miss all the scenic spots, don't just look at the big Ding Ding and leave
It is worth a visit among the popular check-in spots.
I went to Yangyuan Stone, Changlao Peak and Xianglong Lake, but Line 6 was not satisfactory.
This is a very classic scenic spot. Not only is the Yangyuan Stone unique, but the scenery is also beautiful. It is very busy and tiring to visit it in one day. I went there in December 2015 and happened to meet a local hiking competition, so I participated in it together.
The frequency of vehicles traveling to scenic areas should be increased during holidays, and narrow and steep mountain roads should be divided into upward and downward routes to avoid congestion.
Danxia Mountain in Renhua, Shaoguan, is the place where the world's "Danxia landform" was named. It is a national 5A-level park, a world natural heritage site, and the first batch of World Geoparks approved by UNESCO.
The scenery is no worse than Wuyi Mountain, but there are fewer tourists than Wuyi Mountain. It is worth a five-star recommendation.
The ticket is not worth 80 yuan, 20 yuan at most, no more, 10 yuan is for the shuttle bus. The walking path is narrow, the railings are not in place. 95% of the people in the car don't wear seat belts, and the alarm is blaring. When you walk into the mountains, you want to breathe in fresh air, but you can't breathe in second-hand smoke. There are smoking tourists everywhere, and there is no ban on smoking in the mountains!!!
The management is very poor, not up to the 5A standard, long queues for buying tickets. There are only 2 self-service ticket machines, and they said the others are broken. The queue for the self-service ticket machine is longer than the normal ticket queue!!
Rising in the evening and retreating in the morning, sitting and watching the endless clouds
It's cloudy today. What a pity. I probably won't be able to see the sunrise.
Danxia Mountain belongs to the Danxia landform. It was raining on the day we went there, and it was foggy and rainy, creating a unique scenery.
It was average, very tiring, and dangerous. They said there was a free bus into the park until 6 o'clock, but when we came down the mountain at 5:30 to wait for the bus, we didn't see any free bus.
It turns out that I took a picture of you that day, but unfortunately I didn't get your contact information! Nature will not kill people who desire freedom, just as the sky will also be attached to sparrows! I prefer Yangyuan Mountain to Changlao Peak! In fact, following the guide, it is a very simple trip, suitable for people who like to climb mountains. It would be better to go in the off-season, so you can watch the sunset and sunrise together, and stay for a few seconds for the beauty! Maybe it's the off-season, so I always meet "acquaintances". I wanted to add WeChat!
God-given Yang Yuan
There is no first in literature and no second in filth. In order to make filth art enter the Olympic family, I have been working hard at the age of nearly 40. The world's misunderstanding, the ridicule of passers-by, God knows what I have experienced in these years, even if I can't represent China in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, I am already very satisfied.
Do you know me behind these two photos? How long a journey I had to go through to reach the place where it was all routine? In order to take these two photos, how many moments did I have to wait for before I could sing the line, shy pervert ~ quietly open.
I don't have a SLR, but I can do it alone.
Danxia landform belongs to red bed landform and is a horizontal tectonic landform. It refers to the isolated peaks and steep rocks formed by long-term weathering and stripping of red sandstone and erosion by running water. It is a general term for various Danxia peaks developed along vertical joints in thick red sand and conglomerate layers. It mainly develops in horizontal or gently inclined red strata from the Jurassic to the Tertiary. This type of landform is most typical in Danxia Mountain in northern Guangdong, so it is called Danxia landform. The environment is very beautiful, and the Water Danxia and Yangyuan Stone Scenic Areas are recommended.
I went to Danxia Mountain in April this year. I entered the mountain at 8 o'clock and went down the mountain at 5:30 in the afternoon. I finished the tour in one day. The scenery is nice.
The scenery of Danxia Mountain is really beautiful, and there are discounts for locals. I didn't see the sunrise and sunset this time because I was short of time. I personally think it is too dangerous, and I don't recommend climbing it if you have a weak heart. But it is much better than before.
The place where the Danxia landform gets its name is also the most typical middle-period Danxia landform. The scenery is beautiful and unique, with a large number of isolated peaks and stone pillars, and surrounded by clear water, which is very beautiful.
The scenery is picturesque and the Danxia landform is impressive. You have to stay in the scenic area for a night to enjoy it to the fullest.
1. There are two main scenic spots, Yangyuan Stone Scenic Area and Yinyuan Stone Scenic Area (Changlao Peak). Both scenic areas have a mountain that is difficult to climb. (Changlao Peak has a cable car)
2. There are quite a few hotels and restaurants nearby, but there are few people. I heard from the locals that it is still the peak season. . .
3. There are free shuttle buses between scenic spots (every 15 minutes)
4. I went to Yangyuan Stone in the afternoon of the first day and Yinyuan Stone in the morning of the second day. The time was about the same. (I didn't see the sunrise or sunset, which was a pity)
5. There is no street shopping in the local area at night
6. The water in the mountains is very expensive (8 yuan for Yibao)
Danxia Mountain is very big. It is said that it takes a whole day to walk around it. I went with a tour group and was only given two or three hours, so I didn't walk too far. There are temples and the road is relatively easy to walk on, with up and down stairs, which is safer, but there are also very steep places.
It takes three and a half hours to drive to Guangzhou.
A very nice scenic spot, it can be called the essence.
Peeling off the rock surface reveals the standard Danxia colors.
It is an absolute geological wonder and worth a two-day visit.
The sunset at Danxia Mountain is extremely beautiful. The sun starts to soften at 6:30, and the light becomes softer and softer as it falls down little by little. It falls on the mountain at around 7:15, and it even feels like the morning and evening are reversed. I only remember that all I could see was a sea of red clouds. Great!
Danxia Mountain Scenic Area is located in Renhua County, northeast of Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. Danxia Mountain is composed of red sandstone and is characterized by red cliffs. Geologists named this landform "Danxia landform" after Danxia Mountain. As a world natural heritage and a national key scenic spot, it deserves its name. The scenery here is unique and natural. The Yang Yuan Stone and Yin Yuan Stone are vivid and lifelike, subverting human imagination. At the same time, as a national 5A-level tourist area, its internal management is orderly and the service is standardized. It is indeed a tourist attraction. The overall feeling is worth the trip and the RMB is worth it.
The mountain is steep, and it felt like I was walking on a cliff for the first time! Standing on Yuanyang Mountain and looking down, I couldn't help but marvel at the wonders of nature!
The red rocks of Chibi are like a picture scroll created by nature and white mist floating in the sky. The phrase "red as cinnabar and brilliant as the clouds" mentioned in countless travel notes describes this place. At dusk and dawn, the clouds are fantastic and the Jinshi Rock shines brilliantly under the sunlight, becoming an immortal and legendary spectacle.
After buying the ticket and entering the gate, there will be a sightseeing bus for the scenic area, which is free. The driver will ask you which scenic area you want to go to, which is divided into Changlao Peak Scenic Area and Yangyuan Stone Scenic Area.
I first visited the Changlao Peak Scenic Area, then went down from the Changlao Peak to the Sun Viewing Pavilion, went to the Yinyuan Stone, and then visited the Xianglong Lake-Wolonggang Scenic Area. The Wolonggang Scenic Area is a forest hiking route. It is recommended that people with good physical strength can experience it. It takes at least more than two hours to go around. After visiting these two tourist areas, return to the Changlao Peak ticket station to take the sightseeing bus out.
The scenery is beautiful, but it is still recommended to visit it in one day. I arrived at the mountain gate at around 8:30 in the morning, bought a ticket and walked to Yangyuan Mountain Scenic Area. It took at most three hours to go back and forth. I didn't get to the end (personal reasons), so I took a car to Changlao Peak and walked up the mountain. I went to Jin Temple first and made a detour. It was not bad. Then I went from the Changlao Peak Observation Deck, went down the mountain from the Changlao Peak Observation Deck to see the Yinyuan Stone, and then went around the Baofeng Forest Trail and went to Wolonggang. The scenery was beautiful. There were many Danxia landforms on the road, and then I went down the mountain all the way. I took a break three or four times in a day. I was going to take a cruise at the entrance of Yangyuan Mountain Scenic Area after going down the mountain to see Danxia on the water. It felt quite worthwhile. In an hour and a half of play, you can experience the Danxia landform from different angles. Remind not to bring too many things. Just bring one or two bottles of water. If you don't have it, just buy it. It's tiring to bring too much. It's a pity that the bamboo raft rafting in the Base Scenic Area is not open, otherwise I will stay for two days. I originally planned to stay for two days, but it ended in one day. I felt a little sad.
One of the four famous mountains in Guangdong, the only world natural heritage in Guangdong, a landform is named after it, selected into the most beautiful series of China, known as China Red Stone Park. After the visit, the four-character comment is worth the trip.
The scenery of Danxia Mountain is average, but the famous Yangyuan Stone is very lifelike, and the Yinyuan Stone is also very lifelike. The three-piece double-milky stone is almost invisible due to natural erosion. It is recommended to visit Yangyuan Mountain Scenic Area for one day, Changlao Peak and Xianglong Lake Scenic Area for one day, a total of two days, and the itinerary is about six hours per day.
The specific routes are as follows:
Yangyuan Mountain Scenic Area: Yangyuan Mountain Entrance--Qianyuan Pavilion--Yangyuan Stone Observation Deck--Shuanglile Stone--Turn left at the road--Shaibu Cliff--Turn right into Yunmen--Seal Stone--Shizi Rock--Return--Hunyuan Cave--Tongtai Bridge--Road---Xuanji Terrace--Jiujiu Ladder--Ximei Village--Jiadun Pavilion--Return--Yunya Plank Road--Yangyuan Stone Observation Deck--Yangyuan Mountain Entrance. Qianyuan Pavilion is the best viewing point.
Changlao Peak Scenic Area: Entrance--Banshan Pavilion--Cliff Carvings--Biechuan Zen Temple--Changlao Peak Sun Viewing Pavilion--Conch Rock--Hongqiao Yongcui--Duzhanaotou (Zhuangyuan Rock)--Slice Rock--Shaoyin Pavilion--Return--Xueyan-Sun Viewing Pavilion Fork--Shuangxi Terrace--Fuyin Gorge--Yinyuan Stone--Xianglong Lake Pier--Take a boat back to the entrance of Changlao Peak. You need to buy a separate ticket for the Xianglong Lake cruise, which costs 20 yuan per ticket.
It is recommended to stay in Danxia Mountain for two days, and it is best to avoid the peak season.
2017-1-19
Danxia Mountain is one of the four famous mountains in Guangdong. The ticket is 150 yuan and is valid for two days. We stayed in a hotel at the entrance of the scenic spot and visited Yangyuan Mountain and Changlao Peak in two days. Some of the stairs are very steep, so pay attention to replenish your energy on the way!
This is a 24-hour scenic spot. A ticket is valid for 48 hours. The scenic spot has its own tour bus, which is very convenient for tourists who want to watch the sunrise. We arrived the night before and booked a hotel outside the scenic spot, which is just opposite the ticket center. It is very convenient. After putting our luggage, we went to buy tickets. We set off at 7 o'clock the next morning. Fortunately, we set off early. We were sweating profusely after playing around. It was too hot. If you don't go to the Sun Viewing Pavilion, you will leave the mountain at around 1 o'clock. Friends who are not in good physical condition are advised to take the right road into the mountain after entering the Changlao Peak Gate. This road is the downhill road, but there are few people in the morning and the road is relatively gentle. The road on the left is much more tiring, and there is a Xianglong Lake Pier on the right road where you can take a boat for 20 yuan. We bought a 240 yuan ticket plus a water Danxia package. In fact, the 90 yuan for the cruise is not worth it. The attractions on the Jinjiang River are not very good, and most of them can be seen on the way to see the Yinyuan Stone. There is a cable car up the mountain in the scenic area for 60 yuan round trip and 70 yuan on holidays. The journey is very short and it is not recommended to take it. If you only want to see the main attractions of Yangyuan Stone and Yinyuan Stone, you don't need to bring dry food. It's better to set off early so that you can go out of the mountain to eat at noon.
Don't buy a combined ticket! The bamboo raft is a rip-off, very far from the main scenic area, the bamboo rafts are very fake, there are few of them, the management is chaotic, and you need to wait a long time
Nature is so magical...My favorite thing is walking in the forest of Danxia Mountain and breathing in the natural oxygen.
The most beautiful Danxia, China Red Stone Park, as a Guangdong native, it is well-known!
I am ashamed to say that I have never left Guangdong Province in my life. Danxia Mountain is the most unique landform I have ever seen!
The altitude is not high. You can watch the sunset at Ximeizhai and the sunrise at the Sun Viewing Pavilion. It takes 2 days to visit.
It is the best representative of Danxia landform and also a good place for hiking.
There are more than 680 stone peaks, stone walls, stone pillars and natural bridges in Danxia Mountain. The research on strata, structure, geomorphic performance, development process, nutrient action, natural environment and ecological evolution in Danxia Mountain is the most detailed and in-depth in the country's Danxia landform area. It has become a research base for Danxia landform in China and even in the world, as well as a base for popular science education and teaching practice. Danxia Mountain is mainly divided into Danxia Scenic Area, Shaoshi Scenic Area, Bazhai Scenic Area, Xianrenji Scenic Area and Jinjiang Gallery Scenic Area. The Changlao Peak Scenic Area, Yangyuan Stone Scenic Area and Xianglong Lake Scenic Area of Danxia Scenic Area have been developed. Jinjiang Gallery and Bazhai Scenic Area are mainly for natural landscape sightseeing.
A great choice for a day trip, the hiking route is comfortable and suitable for families.
Danxia Mountain is my favorite type of scenic spot. It is full of vitality, with winding paths and clear skies even in winter. It feels so nice to walk in the forest and rocks! The scenic area consists of two major scenic spots. It is recommended to go to the most famous Yangyuan Stone in the morning because of the light, and go to Changlao Peak in the afternoon, which will also be in the light. If you go to Yangyuan Stone in the afternoon, you can only see a dark shadow! Of course, if you want to fully experience the charm of Danxia Mountain, you should stay for two days, one day in each scenic spot. Although the mountain is not high, it is very steep. The scenery along the way is endless, which is great!
It is best to go when the weather is good. The famous attractions are Yangyuan Stone and Yinyuan Stone, and the strange peaks formed by Danxia landform. Yangyuan Stone is in a different direction from the main peak viewing platform, and Yinyuan Stone is at the foot of the mountain behind the main peak viewing platform. There are many farmhouse inns near Yangyuan Stone. I stayed in the scenic area for one night and the farmhouse dinner was very delicious.
Danxia Mountain is a world natural heritage. However, it was rainy and foggy, so there were surprisingly few people. I was amazed by the wonders of nature and saw a different kind of Danxia. I walked a lot in a day, which was much more tiring than playing football. I quoted a sentence I saw in Jinshiyan Temple: quietly enjoy the beautiful scenery and enjoy the moment!
It would be tiring to visit all the attractions in one day. It is impossible to visit all the attractions. You can only choose representative ones. The boat trip feels good, but I feel a little regretful that I don’t have the energy to reach the top!
This was my first real trip. There were four girls, and we laughed and talked all the way. We watched the sunrise and sunset there. For us who like hiking, it was a very pleasant trip.
I went to Danxia Mountain on the weekend. The weather in November was just right for hiking. There is a special bus at Shaoguan East Station, which takes a little over an hour and costs 18 yuan per person. I can only say that Danxia Mountain is super big. It is estimated that it will take two days to walk around. There will be tourists camping on Guanri Peak at night waiting to watch the sunrise. There are also free buses in the park, which is very convenient. Don't go by yourself, it's a waste of time. You can go to Changlao Peak and Yangyuan Stone. The photos taken with a SLR are very good.
I went to Danxia Mountain during the National Day holiday.
Book a hotel in the mountains in advance.
I recommend the library hotel where we stayed.
In the scenic area, convenient,
Then the environment is good.
The staff in the store are also very nice.
We arrived at the scenic spot at night.
They would even drive down on their motorcycles to pick us up and take us to live in the mountains.
We set out from the hotel at ten o'clock.
Just walk to the scenic area. At this time, we have already found a long queue of cars at the entrance!
Then there is a shuttle bus to take you into the mountain. We will climb the Changlao Peak first, which will take about 4 hours.
There were really a lot of people, but we also went to a lot of places.
It is recommended that friends can get a good guide map in advance and plan the route.
I came out at around 3:00 pm and prepared to go to another place where the Yang Yuan Stone was.
Unfortunately, I was very tired at that time and got cheated...
I spent a couple of hundred bucks to see a boring bamboo raft cruise.
I just don't have to walk there...
Alas... I'm not looking at the Danxia on the water...
It was not until after five o'clock that I saw the Yang Yuan Stone.
In general,
This day is very tiring.
But it’s also very fulfilling!
One of the four famous mountains in Guangdong Province, the origin of the name of the Danxia landform, typical Danshan and clear water, the scenery is very beautiful. In order to facilitate tourists to watch the sunrise, the scenic area transportation bus and cableway open at four or five in the morning. The disadvantage is that the ticket is too expensive and the location is relatively remote
A mountain trip that exceeded my expectations. The Lion Rock area in the Yangyuanri Scenic Area, connected to the outer Sleeping Beauty, is worth exploring; Wolonggang behind the Yinyuanri Scenic Area is suitable for a two-hour leisurely hike, and you can also climb up to the viewing platform to see the scenery of Wangzhu Stone. You can also read my travel notes "Hidden Scenery and Hidden Light, No Place to Find, Jia Dun Yang Hao is Danxia" to see where I left off in the two days.
Overall review: It’s just average. The best place to see the Danxia landform is actually Zhangye.
I am alone and provide some information:
1. Transportation
There are trains from Guangzhou to Shaoguan East Station (in the city, called the railway station locally) and Shaoguan Station (in the suburbs, called the high-speed railway station locally). There are buses from Shaoguan East Station to Danxia Mountain, but I don’t know about the high-speed railway station (I only know that there are buses from Danxia Mountain to the high-speed railway station). I personally went to Lianzhou Underground River the day before, so I took a bus from Lianzhou to Lianzhou West Station (bus station) in the morning, and took a taxi to Shaoguan East Station (train station), 15 RMB, 15 minutes.
The bus from Shaoguan East Station to Danxia Mountain costs 18 RMB and takes about 1 hour. However, you need to get off the bus and change to another bus to Renhua County (no need to buy an extra ticket), and then it will take 15 minutes to get there. The entrance to Danxia Mountain is on the left (but you need to walk to the roadside to see it. I didn't see it when I got off the bus and thought I had to change buses. I got on a bus and asked the passengers and found out that this is the entrance to Danxia Mountain).
2. Accommodation
There are many inns and hotels, and accommodation is very cheap, with beds costing around RMB 40 and single rooms around RMB 80. Since the scenic spot ticket is valid for 48 hours, you can choose to stay inside or outside the scenic spot (the difference is not big).
There are two recommended hotels outside the scenic area. One is Danxia Impression Inn chain, which is about 10m to the left of the scenic area entrance and is quite famous. The other is Danxiashan International Youth Hostel (yes, it is one of the famous members of International Youth Hostel YHA. For the introduction of YHA China, see here***?hostID=1).
Because I am a die-hard fan of YHA, I chose the latter. This is a hostel with relatively poor conditions that I have stayed in, but it is very special because I can cook, wash dishes, eat, drink and chat with the owner, volunteers and guests in the hostel (this is the meaning of choosing a hostel).
3. Diet
Well, the restaurants around here are expensive and taste terrible, so I choose to go hungry.
I recommend buying some oranges and grapefruits to eat on the way, they are cheap and delicious.
After entering the scenic area, I suggest you try all the stalls on the way up the mountain. The food tastes very good and is N streets ahead of the restaurants at the entrance. The grilled wings at the foot of Ximeizhai Mountain are especially delicious.
4. Play
Find out the sunrise and sunset times in advance.
Ticket price: 150RMB (75RMB for students) + 5RMB insurance. You can enter and exit repeatedly within 48 hours, but you need to scan your fingerprint.
Sunset: Go out at 14:00 and take the bus from the mountain gate entrance to Yangyuan Mountain Scenic Area. After entering, you will see "Yangyuan Mountain + Shuangrushi + Tongtai Bridge + Ximeizhai", and find the numbered seat at Xuanjitai to start watching the sunset.
Sunrise: Take the bus to Changlaozhai Scenic Area at 05:00. You can take the cable car (40 RMB) or hike, but please note that the drop-off locations are different. (I arrived at 05:00 and watched the bus drive away from me, so I walked alone in the dark in the middle of the night, playing music and watching the stars with flash lights on) If you want to take a bus halfway, be sure to call. I waited for 40 minutes halfway and called to find out that they would only send the bus if I called)
The transportation connection and supporting facilities of the scenic area are all good. The scenery is also good and worth a visit.
Danxia landform is a red-bed landform and a horizontal tectonic landform. It refers to the isolated peaks and steep rocks formed by long-term weathering and water erosion of red sandstone. It is a general term for various Danxia peaks developed along vertical joints in thick red sand and conglomerate layers.
The material basis of the Danxia landform in Danxiashan World Geopark is the red river-lake facies sandstone formed in the Late Cretaceous period about 70 to 90 million years ago. About 65 million years ago, the area where the Geopark is located was affected by the tectonic movement of the earth, resulting in many faults and joints, and also turning the entire Danxia basin into an eroded area. The Himalayan movement that began about 23 million years ago caused the area to rise rapidly.
I took a quick look at other travel notes before the trip, but I felt like I couldn't grasp the main point!!
The key is where to watch the sunrise and where to watch the sunset.
I was traveling by car and missed the sunrise and sunset perfectly...
When you get to the ticket gate, if you see volunteers in red, you can ask them for a free map of Mount Danxia, which will help you plan your route more clearly.
The ticket to Danxia Mountain mainly includes the Changlao Peak Scenic Area, Yinyuan Stone and Yangyuan Stone. It does not include cable car and boat tickets.
👉Watch the sunrise: At the Changlao Peak scenic area, many people get up at 4 o'clock to climb the mountain to watch the sunrise. It was afternoon when I arrived, so I couldn't see the sunset even if I went to Changlao Peak first in the afternoon 🙂 The Yin Yuan Stone is on the Changlao Peak, and it is not in the same area as the Yang Yuan Stone.
👉Watching the sunset: It is said that it is good to watch the sunset in Ximeizhai in the Yangyuanshi area, and it is also good to watch the sunset on the boat. The hotel I stayed in wrote the best time to watch the sunset in each month.
👉About the cable car: I went with my family and was afraid that climbing the mountain would be too tiring. Plus, the ticket seller said it would take 2 hours to get down the mountain, so I bought a round trip ticket. Actually, if you are not in serious condition, it is enough to buy a one-way ticket, because when you take the cable car to the top, from Shaoyin Terrace at the top to the Sun Viewing Terrace at Changlao Peak, it feels like you have almost gone down half of the mountain. If you walk to Yinyuan Stone, you can probably just go down the mountain... If you buy a round trip ticket, you have to go back to the top to take the cable car! It's ridiculous that there is only one pick-up point...
👉About food and accommodation: Although it is a 5A-level tourist spot, the food and accommodation are really average. Maybe Guangzhou people have too high requirements for food... There are many food stalls. I ate at a food stall. It was still too hot in October. The dishes were good, but the environment was not good, with a lot of flies. I also ate at Danxiashan Yingbin Restaurant, which had a slightly better environment.
There are many B&Bs in the scenic area and outside the mountain, which should be OK for one night. At first, I found a hotel called Jiashi Shangpin, but as soon as I entered, I smelled a strong smell of new decoration. I looked it up online and found that it was just built in 2017. Later, I checked out and stayed for 7 days. The room facilities were at least standard, but I was woken up by the chickens in the morning...
☝️The weather and air here are really good, especially after entering the mountain, many pine trees are over a hundred years old, the air is very fresh, the forest is so dense that the sun can't penetrate at noon, the breeze blows, the autumn cicadas sing, and it is very comfortable to rest by the aisle. I believe there will be colorful clouds at sunset in this kind of weather, but it's a pity that I didn't see it this time. It would be better to come in November when it's cooler~ I hope the quality of food and accommodation can keep up with such a good natural scenery! Instead of just digging out some wretched scenic spots such as Yangyuanshi Yinyuanshi Sex Culture Museum😓
Shaoguan, one of the four famous mountains in Guangdong, contains rich cultural history.
Must recommend!!! Suitable for weekend walks, the scenic spots can basically be visited in one or a day and a half. The sunrise at the Sun Viewing Pavilion is more beautiful, probably because of the altitude, the starry sky at night is particularly beautiful. The most recommended scenic spot staff, I hiked up the mountain at 10 o'clock in the evening, called the staff several times, and the speed of answering was fast and the attitude was also very good!
Danxia Mountain is the place where the world's "Danxia landform" was named. It is composed of more than 680 red gravel rocks with flat tops, steep bodies and gentle foothills. It is "red in color and bright as the clouds" and is characterized by the red cliffs. According to geologists' research, it is the most typical, most complete and richest Danxia landform concentrated distribution area among the more than 1,200 Danxia landforms discovered in the world.
Between 140 million and 70 million years ago, the Danxia Mountain area was a large inland basin. Affected by the Himalayan orogeny, the surrounding mountains rose strongly, and the basin received a large amount of debris deposition, forming a thick red stratum. Around 7,000 years ago, the crust rose and was gradually eroded. Since 6 million years ago, the basin has experienced several intermittent rises, an average of about 1 meter every 10,000 years. At the same time, the water cut down and eroded, and the Danxia red layer was cut into a red mountain group, which is now the Danxia Mountain Scenic Area.
There are more than 680 stone peaks, stone walls, stone pillars and natural bridges in Danxia Mountain. The research on stratum, structure, geomorphic expression, development process, nutrient action, natural environment and ecological evolution of Danxia Mountain is the most detailed and in-depth among all Danxia landform areas in China. It has become a research base for Danxia landform in China and even the world, as well as a base for popular science education and teaching practice.
Ticket price: 150 yuan/person, Water Danxia: 90 yuan/person (very expensive, isn’t it?!); recommended visiting time: 2 days (the ticket is valid for two days. If you want to enter the scenic area again, please follow the staff at the entrance to record your fingerprints, and you can enter the scenic area again).
Danxia Mountain - China's geological park, the clear water and red mountain are beyond description, anyone who sees it will know. Below are three photos as representatives (Yang Yuan Stone and Yin Yuan Stone), please bear with me if the photos are not good.
The scenery is worth visiting. You have to climb the mountain during the process. It requires a certain amount of physical strength and takes about two days. However, climbing the mountain for two days will be more tiring. There is nothing to eat nearby. It is mainly food stalls. I haven't found any special food yet.
The Yang Yuan Stone was photographed with a drone. Unfortunately, the drone was lost in Danxia Mountain, but it left me with a memory. I think the scenery is very good. I also wrote a travel note about Danxia Mountain, you can go and read it.
The attractions are a bit scattered, and it takes about two days to complete them. It is worth watching the sunrise, the scenery is good, and it is worth a visit.
Danxia Mountain is actually worth a visit. The scenery is pretty good, especially the unique Yangshi, which is so realistic, hahaha. Climbing up is still a little exciting. Time is relatively tight, I will go there again next time.
When we first entered the scenic area, the road was very flat. After walking for more than ten minutes, I was shocked. The stone steps seemed like a ladder to heaven. I am afraid of heights. After walking a few steps, I couldn't walk anymore. My legs were weak, and then I sat on the stone steps. My roommates saw me like this, and everyone thought that I would definitely not continue walking. At this time, a key figure appeared. An uncle asked us, have you finished climbing the mountain? We said, we haven't started climbing yet, we are afraid of heights, and we won't climb anymore. The uncle said it would be a pity, we came here so far but didn't climb the mountain, I will pull you to climb, don't worry! Looking at this kind uncle, I believed him, and then he pulled me to climb the whole mountain. . . . Thank you very much to this uncle. If he hadn't given me courage and support, this trip would have been a regret.
The scenery is beautiful and the rocks are very unique. It is recommended to visit for two days. Jinshiyan Temple is located halfway up the mountain and overlooks most of the scenic spots. Although it is a little difficult to climb, it is a must-go. If you want to watch the sunrise in the morning, you must get up very early. The mountain road is rugged, so walk carefully and slowly. When you climb to the top of the mountain, it is foggy and you may not be able to see any sunrise. It is better to climb the main peak at dusk, when the fog dissipates. You can see the mountains in the east and the sunset Danxia in the west. The Danxia on the Water project can run through the entire scenic area. Although it costs a little money, it is worth it. Yangyuan Stone is very steep and can be viewed from a distance.
Danxia Mountain in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province, is a Danxia scenic spot that cannot be ignored. It is not because of its beautiful or colorful shape, because there are other Danxia landforms that are more beautiful than it in terms of landform performance, but its uniqueness lies in that the "Chinese Danxia landform" is named after its mountain. Only in this way, it is unique.
Danxia Mountain is known as the first of the four famous mountains in Guangdong and the first peak in Guangdong. It is really worthy of its reputation! First of all, it conquers tourists with its steepness! Although it is not too high, it consists of two major scenic spots, Changlao Peak and Yangyuan Stone. In the process of climbing towards Changlao Peak, we are often attracted by the poems and couplets on the reddish-brown stone wall, and then there will be three or four sections of almost vertical stone steps of about 50 meters. If you are scared, you can't continue the journey. Finally, I climbed to the top of the Guanri Pavilion, breathed a sigh of relief, and then took all kinds of photos of Chibi Danxia across the canyon. I was nostalgic for the stone pillars, castles, hills, stone peaks, and stalagmites, but when I finally had to go down the mountain along the plank road next to the stone wall, I found that the descent was longer and steeper. I had to bite the bullet and go down, almost around the canyon, passing Yinyuan Stone, and walked to Xianglong Valley. I took a boat out to the entrance of Changlao Peak Scenic Area. Go towards the Yangyuanshi Scenic Area. After checking your ticket, walk along the plank road for about fifteen minutes, and you can see the full view of Yangyuanshi in Figure 5. In fact, this position is already the best viewing platform, but tourists are not giving up, thinking that they can see it more clearly and more realistically. They continue to walk on the easy-to-walk mountain road for half an hour to the main road, through the rice fields, and up to Yangyuanshi. In fact, this is the beginning of pain. Just starting to walk a relatively soothing stone step, the legs are already a thousand pounds heavy, panting like a cow. After walking for half an hour and looking up, the tourists on the mountain are like ants crawling on the vertical cloud ladder. I can't help but scream: It's terrible! At this time, you want to turn back, but it's too difficult, because you are unwilling to give up, thinking that there is a world-shaking wonder ahead, but you miss it because of your giving up. So I kept dragging my lead legs and climbing up with my hands and feet, passing through a long vertical step of more than 500 steps, and passing through the mountain gate. I thought the world-shaking wonder was right in front of me, but there was nothing. I saw hundreds of vertical steps that needed to be climbed, so I had to cry in my heart and move forward. When I reached the top of the mountain, there was nothing, only trees and grass. I wanted to go forward, but found that the long queue was motionless. The security guard advised us to go back, saying that it would be ten times more difficult to go down the mountain from here. We knew how hard it was to get up, and we would never turn back. We waited for almost two hours at a snail's pace before we got down the dangerous mountain. We walked down the mountain almost vertically for about 800 steps. It was narrow and dangerous, but there were railings to hold on to, so it was absolutely safe. I passed the back of Yangyuan Stone on the way down the mountain, but I didn't feel anything special. I continued to go down to the place where I took the battery car and bamboo raft. I wanted to take a leisurely rest to make up for the fatigue. Who knew that I would still have to queue up again and again. I didn't realize that the 100 yuan ticket was not worth it when I got on the bamboo raft. I was shivering with cold, the river was turbid, and the fog on both sides of the river locked the Danxia. I had to remain silent. Finally, I left the scenic area. Danxia Mountain is also the world's natural sex museum, which is a natural formation of gods and gods. There are double milk stones, nine Yin Yuan stones, five Yang Yuan stones, and Danxia landforms. It is a unique landscape. Although it is worth seeing, it is not recommended for children under ten years old to go there. It is too dangerous and I am afraid they will not be able to complete the whole journey. The air here is fresh and the natural oxygen bar makes people feel happy physically and mentally. Although it is tiring, it is very happy. [Grinning][Tears][Shy]
