Nansha Tianhou Temple is also called Mazu Temple. It is dedicated to the Queen of Heaven Lin Mo and is the largest Mazu Temple in Southeast Asia.
It is mainly composed of two parts: Tianhou Palace Square and palace complex, integrating the style of Beijing's Forbidden City and the grandeur of Nanjing's Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum.
In the center of Tianhou Temple Square stands a 14.5-meter-high stone statue of Tianhou, which is made up of 365 carefully carved granite pieces, symbolizing the protection of Tianhou for 365 days a year.
The highest point of the entire complex is the Nanling Tower at the back, from which you can overlook the entire Nansha Tianhou Temple, but it is currently not possible to climb the tower.

The weather was great and there were a lot of people at Tianhou Temple on the third day of the Lunar New Year.
Recommendation: Drive there (parking fee is 20 yuan)
🅿️There are many parking places near Tianhou Temple. If you want to walk, you can park at the outermost place. If you don’t want to walk, you can drive in and then park. We parked at the outermost place. The parking fee is 20 yuan. As soon as you stop and open the car door, an auntie wearing a hat will come to you with a QR code (but it’s a bit buggy not to give you a ticket)
Picture 3⃣️4⃣️-🚶♀️Then walk about 15 minutes inside to a small park👉 Then follow the crowd and you will find the coastal swimming pool, which is an artificial beach🏖️suitable for children to play in the sand (the sea is closed and they can't go down). Friends with children can bring their own or buy small sand-digging toys at the door
Picture 1⃣️5⃣️6⃣️-It is the Tianhou Temple. Walk along the sea for about five minutes and you will see a ticket office💰20 yuan for the ticket (you cannot bring your own incense but each person can get 3 incense sticks for free at the door). Mobile payment is supported, of course cash is the best
Picture 6⃣️- There is a wishing pool on the right side of the entrance. There is a giant stone turtle in it. (If you want to throw coins to make a wish, be sure not to hit them or you can keep the coins and go up to where you can donate money for incense)
Pictures 7⃣️8⃣️9⃣️-are small shops passing by with various souvenirs and places to eat desserts
Picture 3⃣️- It is a small park just after entering the gate. There are places to play Ferris wheel and row boats.
Tips1: You can bring some small change with you when you come here to use as incense money;
Tips2: Don’t bring your own incense or candles, otherwise they will be confiscated and you can retrieve them after you come out;
Tips3: Don’t wear a hat or sunglasses when worshipping gods, this is a sign of respect for the gods;
Tips4: Wear comfortable shoes, because the stairs here are very steep and high, and it takes 20-30 minutes to climb to the top; friends with congenital diseases are not recommended to climb to the top. You can see the Queen Mother in the middle, so there is no need to go to the top, do it according to your ability
It is the largest Mazu temple in Southeast Asia. Just hearing the name, one would think it is large and magnificent. And in fact, it is true. The whole palace is built on the mountain, with its back against the southern foot of Dajiao Mountain and facing the Lingdingyang at the mouth of the Pearl River. It has a large green square, a fishing boat dock, and a beach area. As soon as we entered the door, we started to take pictures. There are many jackfruits planted in the green square. Although they are not ripe yet, they are tempting enough. The foodies wiped their saliva quickly~ There is a very magnificent Lingnan building on the green square~ Unconsciously, I walked to the Puzhou Fishing Port Wharf. I didn’t expect that Ho Ying-tung donated money to build the Tianhou Palace. The statue of the Queen of Heaven is 14.5 meters high and stands in the middle of the Tianhou Palace Square. The whole Tianhou Palace is surrounded by green trees, and the incense in the temple is curling. Being in it makes people feel extraordinary. To make fortune, you need to wet your hands with holy water and rub them back and forth on the handle of the copper basin. When the water in the copper basin is shaken, the more the water splashes, the more wealth will come. It is the first time I have seen such a big wishing tree. It has been lowered to the ground by the wishing cards and wishing tapes. It is amazing. Standing on the ancient pagoda mountain and looking down, the view is wide. The scale of the entire palace and garden is the largest of its kind in the world today, and it is known as the "No. 1 Palace of the Queen of Heaven in the World".
No tickets needed, no tickets needed, no tickets needed! I went there last week but was turned away because it was temporarily closed to the public due to a landslide. It's best to check the information before going to avoid a wasted trip. The subway was so exciting that I doubted my life... I could only see the statue of the Queen of Heaven at the door, and the sea was across the street. The air was pretty good, that's it.
I was originally heading for the ferry at the Nansha Passenger Port of the subway. To get to the passenger port, you can take Exit G. I was a little hesitant and wanted to go to Hong Kong, but I didn't think about it because I didn't have enough time. Finally, I remembered to go to the Tianhou Temple. This is my second time there, and the feeling is different from the first time. Many parents brought their children to play in the sand. For safety reasons, a fence was built, and now they can't go into the sea to play. The green trees and green grass are beautiful, and walking in the rain is also a different scenery.
The style of Mazu and the Forbidden City, the purpose of going to Tianhou Temple is probably to burn incense and make wishes. Nanling Tower - Wishing Tree - Marriage Tree, make a wish when you go there, what if it comes true, [sly smile.gif]
From Exit B of Nansha Passenger Port, walk along the main road and you will pass Puzhou Garden, Tianhou Temple and Dajiaoshan Seaside Park. You can ride a bike and enjoy the sea breeze in the seaside park. There are also many family members playing and enjoying the sea breeze. The coastal highway is well built. But the seawater is a bit dirty.
It is worth mentioning that: I went there on May 25, 2019, it was cloudy, and there were no flowers in Puzhou Garden; there was no cannon on the fort on the ticket for Tianhou Temple, only tourists were writing their names on the fort (where is their quality?). PS: If you want to find the fort, the path along the mountain fort is basically deserted, with many fallen leaves and deserted. It is best not to walk alone, there is no surveillance. Go together.
The place is really small, the beach is fenced off, there is nothing special about it, and the speed of Metro Line 4 is not satisfactory.
A temple with beautiful scenery. You can go to Nansha Park for hiking.
There is a Mazu temple here, and climbing the stairs is a great experience
It feels great. It's my first time to go to a place with a beach.
The more ordinary the company, the more valuable it is; the more ordinary the feelings, the longer they last. The world is small, thousands of people meet and make deals; the world is big, thousands of people leave and never see each other again.
I went there with my friends to ask for divination while I still had my student ID. It was quite far and remote. From the tower on the top of the mountain, you can see Puzhou Park at the bottom of the mountain.
Nansha Tianhou Temple is located on the southeast foot of Dajiao Mountain, close to the Lingdingyang, the mouth of the Pearl River. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers. Its buildings are stacked up along the mountain. The palaces are magnificent and the pavilions are majestic. In the center of Tianhou Square is a stone statue of Tianhou, which was built to commemorate the sea goddess Lin Mo. The architectural feature is a combination of the style of the Forbidden City in Beijing and the grandeur of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing. Its scale is the largest of its kind in the world today. It is known as the "No. 1 Tianhou Temple in the World" and is also the largest Mazu temple in Southeast Asia.
In fact, it is not much different from those Buddhist temples, but it is close to the sea, so you can still go for a walk. There is also a Ho Ying-Tong Memorial Hall inside, but we didn’t go in at that time.
The beach is so crowded. There are too many people. You have to take a car to get in from the main entrance, otherwise it's too far to walk.
Every year, the Mazu birthday celebration is held. I forgot the lunar month and date, but it was very lively.
After an absence of six years, I came to Tianhou Temple again. To enter the beach area, you have to walk a short distance along the mountain road. There are bamboo forests on both sides. The air is mixed with the same smell of bamboo leaves. There are many snack stalls at the entrance. Green coconuts are 15 yuan each. The taste is still good and fresh. Unfortunately, I don’t know why, the waterfront beach is blocked. I finally came here, but I can’t go into the water. Many children are playing with sand on the beach. It was not like this before 5555... There is also a waterfront park inside. It is quite large and you can walk there for an afternoon. I found that the ground is full of kapok trees, covering the entire grass like snow. There is also a pavilion in the lake that everyone can enter on Sundays. Lying on the wooden board and looking at the sky is beautiful. Overall, it is a good place to go on weekends. It would be perfect if you can go into the water on the beach. It is worth mentioning that the road to the beach will be closed after 17:00 in the evening and you are not allowed to enter.
As the largest Mazu temple in Southeast Asia, it combines the style of the Forbidden City in Beijing with the grandeur of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing, and is well worth a visit. The Back Palace, Dajiaoshan, and Nansha Bay are connected together, and you can take a ride around them.
In the center of the Tianhou Temple Square stands a 14.5-meter-high stone statue of the Queen of Heaven. It is said to be made up of 365 carefully carved granite pieces, symbolizing the Queen of Heaven's 365-day blessing. It is also a must-go place for tourists to take photos. The pigeons in the square are not afraid of people.
There is a beach, but the water is not clean, and there are also places where you can swim!
It is suitable for self-driving tours. It is not very convenient to take a car because it is really far from the city. The building is very tall and built on the mountain.
Nansha Tianhou Temple is pretty good, whether it is the Mazu Cultural Festival or some leisure activities at ordinary times. Many friends came to Nansha from Humen before, and took the ferry directly from Humen. There is a Vienna Hotel about 3 kilometers from the ferry. I often stayed in Vienna in Dongguan. I chose this one when I came to Nansha. You can go to Wanda at night. The hotel is less than 2 kilometers away. Come back and have a midnight snack next to it. There are more choices. There is a breakfast restaurant opposite in the morning. It is very popular. There may be no seats on weekends. After breakfast, you can go to Tianhou Temple. Bus No. 19 goes directly there, about 30 minutes, and it is more convenient to drive by yourself. You can go to the seaside bathing beach with children, play on the beach, and go to Tianhou Temple with the elderly to keep safe. Couples can ride bicycles in the water park. Friends can rent a barbecue grill next to the beach for a gathering, and have a barbecue by themselves. It is good to relax around.
There is a huge statue of Mazu at the foot of the mountain. It is magnificent and attracts many people who come to pray and burn incense.
A nice place facing the sea and backed by mountains.
I suggest you go up to explore the Dajiaoshan Fort. For details, please refer to my travel notes http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/7189781.html
My friend went there for the beach, and I went there for the Mazu Temple. The weather forecast said it would be rainy, but luckily it was sunny. The scenery and air were nice~ It's still a long way from Guangzhou, so we took the subway and then a 30-minute Didi to get there. It's a pity that the coast is not very long, so playing in the water is still a bit difficult, but there were children playing in the sand. The sea water was not very clean, and there was a barbecue area next to it. The scenery at the Mazu Temple is also nice, and I think Mazu is super spiritual. I will go there to fulfill my wish next time~
Surrounded by mountains and rivers, the environment is beautiful. I have to admire the Feng Shui master's selection of this Feng Shui treasure land. It is best to go there in this season, when the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming. I heard that Mazu is very powerful, and friends who believe in gods can go to worship...
Very good, the park is super big. Facing the sea, with Humen Bridge on the left. It is recommended to drive yourself. The location is a little remote. And if you want to buy cigarettes and incense paper, buy them outside in advance, which is much more cost-effective.
The Tianhou Temple is close to the Nansha Port. It is crowded with people every weekend and all cars have to park near the Nansha Port.
Opposite the Tianhou Temple is Humen, Dongguan, so it is quite far from Guangzhou city and the bus ride is quite long.
Nansha Tianhou Temple enshrines the Sea Goddess Lin Mo. It was the first time I knew that Mazu had a name. She was originally from Meizhou Island, Putian. It was at the Mazu Temple on Meizhou Island that the goddess and I met. It is a very imposing temple. The Tianhou Temple overlooks the sea.

Nansha Tianhou Temple is located near the Pearl River estuary. Its architecture is inspired by the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing. The buildings are built against the mountain, one layer after another, and no one can block the other's charm. No wonder it has the reputation of "the first Tianhou Temple in the world".
The entire Tianhou Temple is surrounded by lush green trees, with smoke curling up in the hall, giving one a transcendental feeling when being there.
It's so dirty and messy. I don't recommend it. But I still took a group of photos because I had to take such a long car ride. It's really a scam. I admire myself.

The scenery is nice, at the mouth of the Pearl River. The main problem is that the transportation is not very convenient.
In fact, it is not much different from those Buddhist temples, but it is close to the sea, so you can still go for a walk. There is also a Ho Ying-Tong Memorial Hall inside, but we didn’t go in at that time.
We went there on the third day of the Lunar New Year. We took Metro Line 4 from the city to Jinzhou Station, and then took a taxi. Because it was the Lunar New Year, the taxi driver refused to use the meter and charged 50 yuan. I planned to take Didi, but the price was doubled to 48 yuan. There was a private car soliciting passengers at the subway exit. At first, the price was 40 yuan, but I didn't take it. Later, it was reduced to 35 yuan, which was okay for 4 people. The driver took us to Nansha Bay, and it took more than 1 kilometer to get to the Tianhou Temple. Later, we came out of Tianhou Square and it was very close to the East Gate. We took Nansha No. 4 bus to Jinzhou subway station and got off to take the subway back to the city. On the way back, I found a very clear bus guide at the intersection of Jinzhou subway station. The suggestion for taking transportation is to take Metro Line 4 to Jiaomen Station and transfer to Nansha No. 4 bus to the East Gate of Tianhou Temple. Those who take the bus to Nansha Bay have to walk quite a long way to get to the Tianhou Temple. As for the introduction of the scenic spots, there are a lot of them on the Internet, so I won't go into details. The full ticket is 20 yuan, free for those over 65 years old, and half price for those over 60 years old.
It's OK. It's free to enter the gate and you can finish the tour in one or two hours. There is also a statue of the Queen of Heaven inside, which is quite tall, but you need to buy a ticket to see it up close.
A very tall statue of Mazu, overlooking the Pearl River estuary, where you can climb the tower to see the Humen Bridge
We went there after the Chinese New Year, it was pretty good, not many people, it was worth a visit
It is a place worth visiting. Although the facilities are not perfect yet, when you come here, you will feel relaxed and calm. This is my childhood memory. There was no charge at that time and the beach was very clean. Now I have a different feeling every time I go there. I remember that the tower could be climbed before, but later I heard that there was an accident and it was closed. Looking down from there, you can see the entire Puzhou Garden and the amusement park. Every time I look through the photos, I always have the urge to go there.
I'm only posting pictures, I'm at a loss for words, so just look at the pictures.
Last year, I drove by and went in to take a look. The incense was very strong. I burned incense and worshipped Buddha. As I walked up the mountain road, there were fewer and fewer people. It felt particularly peaceful and detached. There are towering trees and antique buildings. Nansha is indeed a great place for vacation.
The Queen of Heaven Temple is located in Nansha District. It takes at least 2 to 3 hours to get there from the city. You can take Metro Line 4 to Jiaomen Station, then take a bus to the Queen of Heaven Temple. There are other special buses to Baiwan Sunflower Garden, Shijiuyong, Wetland Park, etc. at the same station. The ticket price is 20 yuan now, and you can walk around freely. However, there is a saying in Guangdong that "enter the temple to worship gods", so even if you are not a religious person, you can buy some incense as a courtesy to worship. When you walk to the top, you can also see the whole view of the Queen of Heaven Temple Nansha. If the weather is good, you can also see the Humen Bridge. You can spend a day here.
I came here during the Chinese New Year, so there weren't many people. Everyone was very pious. The environment was very nice, and some people came to worship and climb the mountain.
The Queen of Heaven Temple is located in a remote area. It takes about an hour to take a bus from the terminal of Metro Line 4 to the Queen of Heaven Temple. The transportation is relatively convenient but the journey is long. The ticket to the Queen of Heaven Temple is 20 yuan. It is worth going in if you have not been there. There are temples inside to burn incense, etc.
Nansha Tianhou Temple is one of the four major Mazu temples in China. It is also an important Mazu temple in the Pearl River Delta and has always been very popular.
The sea water is not very clean, you know... There are still many things to do.
You can see the sea. I went there in winter, it was really cold, and there was a sea breeze. It was my first time in Guangzhou, and I basically walked around Guangzhou.
It is suitable for family trips or couples trips. The transportation is very convenient, you can take the subway and then the bus.
This place is also quite crowded. I think I went there with friends in 2009. Haha, it’s just not very convenient to take a car.
The story of the Queen of Heaven has always been there, and the Queen of Heaven Temple is very popular because of this. Here you can play in the sand, go into the sea and kick some dirty water, have a BBQ with a few close friends, and walk on a vegetarian path.
No tickets are required. It's a bit far from the city. You can take the subway and then the bus. You can just play on the artificial beach. It's also good to see the Pearl River if you can't see the sea, haha! !
It feels okay. If you feel relieved, you can go there! It's just that it's too far to transfer to the subway in Renhe, but it feels good to change from the subway to the high-speed rail for the first time! The sea is a bit dirty, but everything else is good! It may be because of the large number of tourists! I still feel good all day..
Located in Nansha District, you can take the subway to Jiaomen Station and then take a bus to Tianhou Temple at Jiaomen Bus Station. The ticket is 20 and the bus takes about 1 hour. Nansha Tianhou Temple is built along the mountainside, forming a series of halls for tourists to worship.
There is also a sea at the Tianhou Temple, but the sea water is not very clean. In addition to the Tianhou Temple, there are also renovated gardens, etc. The ticket is only ten yuan, so friends who like it can go there, but the transportation is not very convenient, you need to take the subway to the bus
The journey to Nansha Tianhou Temple is really long. I chose to take the bus and subway. I took the bus to Shiqi at 8:45 and then transferred to the subway line 4 to Jiaomen Station. When I arrived at Jiaomen Station, I realized that it was not as good as what I had seen online: "Rent a car from Jiaomen to Tianhou Temple and return it." I had to give up the idea of riding a bike from Jiaomen to Tianhou Temple and took Nansha Line 3 instead.
Arrived at the terminus of Nansha Route 3 at 11:05, and a few steps ahead was Puzhou Garden, an elegant Western-style garden.
The entrance fee to Nansha Tianhou Temple is NT$20. After entering, I heard a loud broadcast of people selling incense and candles, which ruined the view.
When we came out of Tianfei Temple, it started to drizzle. When we walked out of Tianhou Temple, the rain got heavier and heavier. It was time for lunch. We had no choice but to go to a restaurant next to the beach for lunch. The dishes were well-cooked and the steamed mandarin fish was cooked to the perfect temperature. It tasted fresh and sweet. I highly recommend it! When we were eating, it was raining outside, but fortunately there was a roof over our heads!
You can see the Humen Bridge, the terrain is open, and the view after climbing to the top is very good. It is worth a visit. There is also an artificial beach in the park. In front of you is the mouth of the Pearl River.
From the Nansha Tianhou Temple, you can get a close view of the Humen Bridge, take a speedboat to visit Hengdang Island, and climb up to the Tianhou Temple to overlook the Pearl River Estuary and the surging South China Sea.
On September 15, 2013, I rode from Guanlan, Shenzhen to Tianhou Temple in Nansha, Guangzhou. The scenery in Nanshan Bay is really beautiful.
The rebuilt Nansha Tianhou Temple is located on the southeast foot of Dajiao Mountain in Nansha, facing the vast Lingdingyang. On the 1.5-hectare square stands a giant statue of the Queen of Heaven, with a beautiful and kind face. The architectural features combine the style of the Forbidden City in Beijing and the grandeur of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing. Its scale is the largest of its kind in the world today.
Mazu Temple, haha, I went there with my classmates by subway in 2010. It was just too troublesome to go around in the subway, but the scenery was pretty good, and you could see the Humen Bridge.
You have to walk there too. But it is very suitable for family outings, with a large lawn where you can have a picnic and play games.
Because my family doesn't believe in Buddhism, we didn't dare to go into the Tianhou Temple. We just played at the beach. However, the beach was very unhygienic and there were too many people. It was hard to wait for the bus. We could see the Humen Bridge from afar, but it took a long time to transfer from the subway to the bus, and the fare was not cheap. It's not worth going ~ unless you like to worship in the Tianhou Temple...
The areas with relatively good tourism development are the Nansha Tianhou Temple area and the Wanqingsha Shijiuyong Wetland Park.
Tickets are 20 yuan. Take the subway to Nansha Passenger Transport Port, walk to the Northeast Gate or take the subway to Nanheng, and take the bus to the East Gate. The main purpose is to see the Queen of Heaven. The Queen of Heaven Temple is really big. Forget about other attractions. The Ho Ying-Tong Memorial Hall is not open, the Binhai Swimming Pool and the Binhai Amusement Park are not open, and the beach is blocked. The Queen of Heaven Temple is so big, but the Queen of Heaven is actually the most worth seeing. The Nanling Tower on the mountain is not open, the Zhenwei Terrace is fenced off and you can't get in. Other forts can only be reached by taking a very remote mountain road. There are forests all around. It's very desolate and panic when you walk there. There are no tourists to see it, and it is estimated that no one takes care of it. Well, it is a historical relic after all. So, if you want to see the Queen of Heaven specifically, it is still worth going.
