Shawan Ancient Town is an ancient town of Lingnan culture with a history of more than 800 years. The buildings in the town are antique and rich in historical and cultural resources. It is the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Art" and "Hometown of Guangdong Music". Unfortunately, after walking around the town for more than 2 hours, I didn't see the lion dance team performance, nor did I hear the song (music). The transportation to the ancient town is quite convenient. After exiting Exit B of Shiqiao Subway Station, turn right and you will reach the Baiyue Square bus stop. Many buses pass through the ancient town. Get off at Shawan South Village or Shawan Ancient Town South Gate Station and you will reach the ancient town in a short while, which is more than 30 minutes' drive.

Shawan Ancient Town is now open to the public for free, but the three attractions in the ancient town, namely the He's Ancestral Hall, Sanmin Hall, and Academician He Binglin Memorial Hall, are charged, and the combined ticket price is 20 yuan. To go to Shawan Ancient Town, you must first take the subway to Shiqiao, Panyu District, and then transfer to Panyu City Bus. At Shiqiao, take Panyu 6, Panyu 7, Panyu 12, and Panyu 67 to the Cultural and Sports Center or Liugengtang Station, and then walk to Shawan Ancient Town. Shawan Ancient Town is actually a village, with very distinctive houses and a sense of history. Shawan Ancient Town has formed and preserved a unique culture with a Cantonese local flavor. The ancient town is very large, and many alleys still recall the long history. The environment is also very clean, and the rice noodle rolls and porridge are also very authentic and cheap. For four of us, two rice noodle rolls cost 10 yuan, two fried rice noodles cost 16 yuan, and adding an egg was only 1 yuan. This price has set a record for the lowest price in the past ten years. This ancient town is different from our Jiangnan water town. The cultural differences and each has its own merits, which is worth a visit.

Shawan was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty and is an ancient town with a long history of Lingnan culture. Shawan Ancient Town was once named Benshan. Because the ancient town was built in the Song Dynasty on the "Zhuyaogang" beside the half-moon-shaped beach of the ancient beach, it was named "Shawan". According to historical records, by the Song Dynasty, the north of Shawan had formed land, and the south was still a shallow sea. After the sea was reclaimed and land was reclaimed, the area continued to expand. At present, the tourist area of Shawan Ancient Town covers an area of more than 2,300 acres, of which the core scenic area is about 265 acres.

Shawan Ancient Town has a 40-yuan all-in-one ticket, which includes Liugeng Hall, Academician He Binglin Memorial Hall, He Shiliang Art Museum, Sanmin Hall, Shawan Guangdong Music Hall, Shawan Folk Culture Expo Hall, Yabai Art Museum, etc. People over 60 years old are free of charge.

The most famous place in Shawan Ancient Town is the He's Ancestral Hall - Liugeng Hall. Liugeng Hall was built in 1275. It is said that it has been expanded and restored several times and is the oldest and most exquisitely crafted ancestral hall in Panyu District. It was only in the evening when I arrived at the ancient town, and it was already closing time, otherwise it would have been nice to visit it.

The outskirts of the ancient town are more commercialized, and there are some memorial halls to visit inside. If you have enough time, you can come here for a walk. If you don’t have time, there is no need to come here specifically.

The tourist map makes it easy to identify the direction. There are three east-west main streets connected by north-south alleys. You can refer to the recommended routes on the map and go shopping according to your interests.

It is the old style of Lingnan. People come to Shawan mainly for food. The double skin milk in Shawan is really delicious. There is also a very distinctive wall, the oyster wall, which is made entirely of oysters.

The ancient town is clean and sanitary, with stone-paved alleys crisscrossing each other, and it is easy to get lost if you are not careful.

I like Shawan Ancient Town! After leaving the Huangpu Ruins, I forgot how I got to this ancient town. It seemed very close. I didn't know this place before, but I walked there accidentally, and then I liked it unexpectedly. I feel that there is a stronger ancient town flavor here, more natural, and not so commercialized.

In its 800-year history of development, Shawan Ancient Town has formed and preserved Lingnan culture with traditional historical culture and folk culture as its main body. It is an outstanding representative of Cantonese culture with the Pearl River Delta as its core. It is rich in material and intangible cultural heritage resources. A large number of ancient buildings such as ancestral halls and temples, as well as commercial sites and residential sites are well preserved. Folk arts and folk cultures such as Guangdong music, floats, dragon and lion dances, orchids, and food are flourishing.

Compared to the ancient town I visited before, this Shawan Ancient Town is quite nice and cozy. The peach wine here is worth a try. The whole town is still undergoing modifications. If you want to visit the scenic spots, you can go in and take a look. I personally think it is a relatively comfortable place that makes people relax.

No tickets are required, but there are a few places that charge for entry, such as the He Family Ancestral Hall. If you don't want to learn more, just take a look at the entrance. The buildings have Lingnan style and characteristics. Most of them have been renovated, and some old buildings are still preserved. There are many shops in the ancient town, all of which are very elegant.

Shawan is the hometown of Guangdong music. The famous "Rain on Banana" and "Bubugao" are representatives of Guangdong music. There is also a Guangdong Music Museum in Shawan. I remember that these songs were often played on the radio when I was a child. There is a scenic spot in the ancient town called Sanren (pronounced "Ren") Hall, which is to commemorate the three great masters of Guangdong music. After reading the introduction, I learned that Sanren is the sour carambola. I learned something new.

The ancient town has convenient transportation and is accessible by bus. You can take bus No. 6, No. 29 or No. 68 at the Panyu Square bus stop at the exit of Panyu Square subway station. The journey takes about 45-60 minutes.

Get off at Shawan Cultural Center or the South Gate of Shawan Ancient Town, and look back, you can see the big words "Shawan Ancient Town", which are very conspicuous.

Walking along the main street, you will reach the ancient town area. Compared with other ancient towns in Guangdong, the commercial atmosphere here is still stronger.

There is no ticket required to enter the ancient town, but admission fees are charged at certain attractions. It is recommended to purchase a pass online first, which is much more cost-effective.

The ancient town is not very big, but there are many things to do inside, so you can spend half a day there.

Transportation: Take Metro Line 3 to Shiqiao Station Exit B, then take Bus No. 67 and get off at Shawan Cultural Center Station.

Play time: 1-2 hours

Tickets: The group purchase of 34 yuan package includes the following attractions: He Binglin Memorial Hall, Wenfeng Tower, Liugeng Hall, Shawan Sanmin Hall

Since I did some research before coming here, I didn't buy tickets for the only place worth visiting, Liugengtang. I'm not an artistic person, so eating and shopping here is enough for me.

Attractions: The Shawan Ancient Town here preserves a large number of artistic masterpieces such as brick carvings, wood carvings, stone carvings, gray sculptures, murals, etc. The artistic style has a strong Lingnan style.

Interestingly, there are several oyster shell walls here. It is said that there were a lot of oysters here at that time, so the locals used local materials and piled up oyster shells layer by layer when building houses. Oyster shell walls have the effects of fireproofing, insect-proofing and soundproofing. Even after hundreds of years of wind and rain, they are still intact and dense.

Food: If you come here, you might as well try [Shawan Milk Queen]. This store is quite famous. The store sells a variety of desserts and sweet soups. The order is placed quickly and the food is served quickly. Only cash is accepted. I immediately ordered a bowl of snowball double skin milk, but unfortunately the vanilla-flavored snowball covered the original milk flavor of the double skin milk. I also ordered a cup of chocolate stewed milk, and the milk flavor was still strong.

Comments: In fact, it is enough to just walk around and eat and feel the atmosphere of the ancient town. This place has Lingnan characteristics, not many people, not much commercial atmosphere, and it feels very simple and comfortable. It is a good place for weekend leisure and entertainment.

Generally speaking, it is a well-preserved building complex, which is definitely a must-see for those who love Hutongs! ! Just walk around, and you will see the scenery everywhere. If you look closely, you will see history at every step. In addition, those who love photography should bring professional tools with them, and you will definitely get unexpected gains. In addition, the construction here is relatively complete, the public facilities are relatively complete, and the transportation is relatively convenient. It is convenient to eat, drink and have fun. It is a good experience to spend a whole day strolling around, or even stay overnight in the nearby residents.

Some attractions in the ancient town require tickets. If you just go in to stroll around and eat, you don't need a ticket. It's not very big inside, and the houses are not particularly distinctive. I can only say that there are some old houses, but they are not particularly old. I can only say that it's just average.

No tickets are required. It looks very modern from the outside, but you can feel the local culture when you walk in. You only need to pay $1 for the museum and ancestral hall because you follow the WeChat account. It's very cheap. My favorite is the Thuja exhibition hall. Unfortunately, the weather was too hot and time was tight, so I didn't walk through the whole ancient town. The biggest reward was buying cockroaches!

Shawan Ancient Town was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is an ancient town of Lingnan culture with a history of more than 800 years. It is rich in historical and cultural resources and its folk art is well-known in the south. There are more than 100 ancient ancestral halls, with Liugeng Hall as the typical representative, as well as buildings such as one-tube bamboo, three-room and two-corridor, wok-ear house, high-rise building, Western-style residence, free-style residence, etc. Shawan Ancient Town has preserved a large number of art masterpieces such as brick carvings, wood carvings, stone carvings, gray sculptures, murals, etc., and the artistic style has a strong Lingnan style.

My feelings when I am traveling leisurely: the wood brocade flowers are in full bloom in early spring, and the cotton wool is floating like snow in late spring; the lotus flowers are in full bloom in early summer, and the flowers are hidden in the puffy skirts during the Lesser Heat, and the fish swim leisurely.

Foodies can try Shawan Ginger Milk, which is well-known in the province, Hong Kong and Macau. Traditional dishes such as shredded chicken stuffed with sprouts, Shawan Bieci goose, black bean and pepper goose, dog porridge, and milk banquet are also very attractive.

Of course, the most famous is the annual provincial intangible cultural heritage Shawan Piao Se.

This place is quite bourgeois, and the desserts and ice cream there are really good. Last time I went there with my boyfriend, we just ate there, strolled around, and it was pretty good.

The ancient town is not big, but there are many ancestral halls. If you are interested, there are still many things to see. There are 10 exhibition halls with distinct themes, including Shawan He's Ancestral Hall (Liugeng Hall), Guangdong Music Memorial Hall (Sanmin Hall), Academician He Binglin Memorial Hall (Yanqing Hall), etc., which fully display Shawan's traditional ancestral hall culture, clan culture, farming culture, and architectural culture.

You need to buy tickets for the above three museums separately (the ancient town itself does not need tickets). The online pass includes Liugeng Hall and Yanqing Hall.

How should I put it? Maybe I am not interested in ancestral hall culture. I personally don’t recommend this place. It is quite commercialized and the place is very small. If you don’t stay in Guangzhou for a long time, you can ignore this attraction.

Some of the ancestral halls in the ancient town require tickets, while others are free. There is a QR code in front of each building, which can be scanned through WeChat to listen to the explanation, which is good~

The snacks are delicious and cheap, and the cobblestone road with Lingnan characteristics is misty and rainy

By antbomb |

There is nothing special about the outside, just a lot of snack shops. It is more interesting to walk into the alley.

By Meow. |

It is far from the city center and does not feel as good as Huangpu Ancient Port.

By Small crucian carp |

The most distinctive ancient town, walking in the alleys feels away from the hustle and bustle of the city and returns to the inner peace! The special food is also delicious, double skin milk, ginger milk, etc.

Game guide:

Walk about 320 meters from Exit B of Shiqiao Subway Station to Guangming North Road Station and take bus No. 7 (17 stops) to Xiangxian Middle School North Gate Station. Walk about 560 meters to Shawan Ancient Town.

It is best to go with a few good friends, take selfies, activate various photo modes, and have fun. It is recommended to go early in the morning. There are many people in the afternoon. Going early can quietly enjoy the beauty of the entire ancient town! In addition, I would like to share with you my travel notes of the ancient town http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/6533261.html

We continued walking and arrived at Shawan Ancient Town near Guangzhou. Finally, we had a family photo, but why was my face so swollen? Shawan Ancient Town is open to the public for free. The He Binglin Memorial Hall, Sanmin Hall, He's Ancestral Hall, Liugeng Hall, etc. require admission. There are also many Guangzhou desserts and delicacies in the alleys. At the entrance to the ancient town is the Shawan headquarters of Guangzhou's time-honored Qinfangyuan desserts.

A stage play "Rain on Banana Leaves" from "Shawan Past" attracted tourists. A graceful southern girl, holding an umbrella, happily played in the rain in the bluestone alley. Walking in the ancient houses in the ancient town, the unique Lingnan-style houses are simple and elegant, the low-key and luxurious wood carvings are beautiful and exquisite, and the colorful Western-style glass windows are particularly dazzling. The ancient trees planted in the courtyard are lush and green. The sunlight shines through the gaps in the leaves and shines on the ground hall, which is golden. It is worth a visit to listen to the ancient stories of the birthplace of Guangdong music.

Shawan Ancient Town was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty and is an ancient town of Lingnan culture with a history of more than 800 years. Recently, there is a light and shadow festival. There is a light and shadow show at Liugeng Hall every Saturday and Sunday at 7pm and 8pm. It will last until the beginning of 2017. The show is about 20 minutes long and is about projecting stories on Liugeng Hall. It is very shocking. It is recommended to go 10 minutes in advance to grab a good seat.

By The sun shines through the whitened memories |

The overall architecture of Shawan Ancient Town is a retro ancient building from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, giving people a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Some shops specially play some old Shanghai music, and you will instantly feel that you have returned to the time. There are many ancestral halls on the main road, but I didn't go in because they are charged. The main road is a street, and it didn't take long to walk the whole way, so I thought the ancient town was very small. I didn't expect that when I walked slowly along the path, there was a lotus pond behind the main road, and there were many distinctive snacks next to it. Many local people came here to enjoy the cool and chat. Suddenly, there was a feeling of another village after a dark period, and there were more vivid carvings and paintings on the walls of their buildings. The most impressive one was the portrait of "Zhu Bajie carrying his wife", which was very vivid. If you like ancient buildings, you can go to the ancient town for a visit.

In the evening, I took the subway and bus to Panyu in the heavy rain. The most famous place is Shawan Ancient Town. Shawan Ancient Town is free to enter, and there are many historical sites and famous food stores. Dairy Queen is more recommended. In Shawan, ginger milk is called ginger milk, which I personally think tastes better than Huangpu Ancient Port.

It is rich in historical and cultural resources and its folk art is well-known in the south.

It has been awarded the honorary titles of China's Folk Art Town, China's Historical and Cultural Town, China's Orchid Town, National Civilized Town, and National Sanitary Town.

The core area of Shawan Ancient Town has been carefully renovated and looks brand new, which not only retains the original antique flavor of the ancient town, but also presents a new visual experience. The entire block is neat and orderly, with complete supporting facilities and a reasonable functional layout. The core area has built 10 exhibition halls with distinct themes, including Shawan Ancestral Hall Culture Exhibition Hall (Liugeng Hall), Academician He Binglin Memorial Hall, Guangdong Music Memorial Hall (Sanmin Hall), etc., which show Shawan's magnificent ancestral hall culture, clan culture, architectural culture, farming culture, folk art, etc., fully demonstrating the style and rich historical and cultural heritage of Shawan Ancient Town. In addition to the unique cultural impact, the ancient town tourism has also launched a humanized experience of eating, living, playing and having fun. The four iconic antique buildings on Anning West Street, including the Grand Tea House, Guannan Building, Jinlong Building and Qingluo Hall, have become Shawan's characteristic teahouses and restaurants, as well as family hotels, a street of characteristic souvenirs, and a street of leisure bars. In the historical and cultural district, you can listen to the melodious Cantonese music, drink tea and discuss philosophy, experience the leisurely lifestyle of the ancients, taste Shawan's unique snacks, and feel the fierce collision of modern civilization and traditional culture. Shawan Ancient Town is famous for its fish lanterns. Every year, the Fish Lantern Festival arranges a grand fish lantern night tour, attracting thousands of people to watch. Although I didn't catch up with the grand night tour this time, I think the ancient town without the festival glitz has a unique desolate and indifferent temperament. The uncles carrying vegetables and meat walking in the narrow alleys, the owners of the handmade egg rolls that are sold out, and the restaurant aunties who curiously watch the tourists and enthusiastically recommend their signature dishes fill their lives with firewood, rice, oil, salt, sauce, vinegar and tea. When the sun sets, there are only a few residents in the town who enjoy the cool in front of their own courtyards. It's only seven o'clock in the afternoon, and there are only scattered fish lanterns in the town that light up the bluestone streets. We feel lonely in such a life, but they feel fulfilled.

During the May Day holiday, I went to eat Shuangpi milk with my friends. We walked around a bit and passed by the lotus pond in front of the ancient town. It was very beautiful. The ancient town buildings were well preserved. I think it is more common in Lingnan. There are many snacks in the town. It is a good choice to go there. You can eat while playing and taking pictures~! Then we got lost when we were walking. We asked the local villagers and they told us very kindly and suggested to come to see the lotus bloom next month.

[Ancient Town Study] The Ancient Town Study is a restoration of the ancient "Bubuzhai" culture located in the "Jinshili" Lane, the original residence of He Zihai, a Jinshi in the early Ming Dynasty. It is a traditional "three rooms and two corridors" building in Shawan in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. The study mainly teaches elementary knowledge and Confucianism, and is also an important part of the imperial examination education system in feudal society.

Shawan Ancient Town is located in the southern part of Panyu District, Guangzhou. There are a large number of ancient buildings from the Ming, Qing and Republic of China periods preserved in the town, with various architectural styles. The most representative one is the He's Ancestral Hall (Liugeng Hall). The current building was rebuilt in the 60th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1721 AD), with a total area of more than 3,000 square meters. Its brick carvings, stone carvings, wood carvings and plaster sculptures are very exquisite.

A town with ancient charm, far from downtown Guangzhou. It is recommended to stay in Panyu. You can visit the nearby gardens on the second day. Two of the four major gardens in Guangdong are nearby. There are ancient ancestral halls, temples, schools, big houses, and streets in the town, all of which are typical Lingnan style and worth seeing. Commercialization is not very strong, and there are not many people in several scenic spots, so you can stroll around leisurely and relaxed. You can see many characteristics of Lingnan architecture, carvings, patterns, and peculiar pan (wen) incense (xiang). There are also open-air performances and local specialty milk-shaking outside, which are super delicious! As an ancient town, it is really just right, antique, and well managed, but it is easy to get lost if you walk deep. Friends who have time should really stroll around for a while and experience the characteristics of Lingnan culture.

I personally don't recommend this ancient town. I feel it's just average. If you have time, you can come and have a look. If you don't have time, don't bother. Here are a picture of the distant view and the near view. Although this ancient village is free, several key areas are charged. Haha. I have to take a picture of the frustrating notice. We came all the way to see you, and just happened to catch your only day off in a year. We are so lucky. I guess not many people choose to go on New Year's Eve. It's a quiet day.

Shawan has preserved many buildings from the Qing Dynasty, which are full of Lingnan flavor. It is in Panyu District, so the buses have the word "Fan" on them. It is very convenient to take No. 12 and No. 67, which connects the city and even reaches Baomo Garden. After entering, some places require tickets. The ticket for three attractions is 20 yuan, which is quite worthwhile. The largest ancestral hall inside is good, and the others are ok, but you can experience it well by walking in it. The alleys are very distinctive, and local residents are often seen sitting in the alleys to bask in the sun and chat. There are also many special shops in the alleys, such as Guanyin Temple, which are good places and highly recommended. In addition, for meals, there are very good snacks such as ginger milk and local flower rolls.

From Exit B of Shiqiao Station, turn right and take bus No. 67 to Shawan Cultural Center Station. As soon as you enter, you will see Qinfangyuan, a famous dessert shop. It is quite new, but also has a lot of charm. The roads are all slabs of stone. It starts to get busy around 3 or 4 pm, and there are many families with their children out to play.

There is no entrance fee for the entire scenic area, but there are 3 attractions that require tickets, and you can buy a package ticket.

It's nice to walk around, take photos and have some fun. When I was tired, I went to Dairy Queen and had some fried taro with milk (delicious), ginger milk (so-so) and milk glutinous rice balls.

The whole scenic area is not big. It takes about 2-3 hours to visit. The consumption is not high. It is suitable for photosynthesis on weekends with good weather.

The tourism development of Shawan Ancient Town is relatively complete, with complete catering and commercial facilities, which well showcases Lingnan folk customs and architecture. The town is clean and tidy, and the instructions are clear! The disadvantage is that there are no mountains and rivers around, which lacks some Jiangnan characteristics, and there are too many new buildings, which makes the historical charm less. One day is enough for the tour, and it is a good place to visit on weekends!

There is a very special oyster shell wall...Although the journey is a bit far, it is worth a visit.

Shawan Ancient Town is a bit far from downtown Guangzhou, and it takes about one and a half to two hours to take the subway. Take Line 3 to Shiqiao, exit B, turn right and take bus No. 67, get off at Shawan Cultural Center Station, and walk a few steps in the opposite direction of the bus to see the ticket office. The ancient town does not require tickets, but there are several small attractions in Guzhen that require tickets. The current pass is 20 yuan, which is a promotional price. There is no student ticket, including three small attractions. Each small attraction costs 10 yuan to buy a single ticket. The three ticketed attractions are: Liugeng Hall, Academician Chen Binglin Memorial Hall, and Sanmin Hall. Among them, the first one is still worth a visit, where you can learn about the history of the founding Chen family of Shawan. The second one mainly introduces the life of Chen Binglin, the father of Chinese exchange resin. In fact, you can see it by searching Baidu. The third one is really a rip-off. There is only one room inside, and the introduction of several Chen family members is a rip-off. So it is recommended not to buy a pass, you can buy a ticket for Liugeng Hall alone to go in and take a look, or you don’t need to go in all three, just Baidu Shawan Chen Family. Liugeng Hall was also rebuilt by later generations, so apart from understanding the history of the Chen family, the building itself does not have much to see. I prefer to wander around the alleys, and after a round of looking, I almost have a feeling for the characteristics of Lingnan architecture. There are many alleys, but they are very short and very quiet. You can ask for a map at the tourist center. I don’t know if I will give it to you if you don’t buy a ticket. I gave it to you when I bought the ticket. There are some snacks and special shops marked on the map. If you just want to see the route, you don’t need it. Just look at the road signs, which are still very clear. The ancient town is really not big. Even if you turn very slowly and in detail, it will take at most three hours, which is the maximum. Although the ancient town does not have too many distinctive things, I think that the lack of characteristics is precisely its characteristic. I like this place very much. Guzhen does not have the snack street and pedestrian street of ordinary ancient towns, but there are many places to eat. If you come here for shopping, forget it. If you want to understand the real life of an ordinary town in Guangzhou, then it is highly recommended.

A beautiful town with an antique style, suitable for taking photos, and beautiful scenery

It's a nice place with historical heritage and delicious food: ginger milk and double skin milk are the most famous and must be tried

I went there on Monday afternoon. The roads in the ancient town were very quiet. The roads felt very similar to the Huangpu Ancient Port. The cobblestone roads.

There are various beautiful characters painted on the wall, and other real objects are added next to them to make the picture more realistic.

I bought a package ticket for 20 yuan and went to the Academician He Binglin Memorial Hall, Sanmin Hall, and Liugeng Hall.

The most worth seeing is Liugeng Hall, which contains various information about the imperial examination and the history of the He family. I also happened to see someone taking pictures. You can also print pictures and send them out with Shawan watermark as a souvenir.

After wandering around in the alleys, you can find the Wenfeng Tower. The sky is so beautiful and there are many wishing strips hanging there.

Shawan Ancient Town has good reviews overall, but many memorial halls and shops are closed when you go there during non-holidays.

Take the subway to Shiqiao Station, and then take a 30-minute bus ride to get there.

Shawan Ancient Town is located in Shawan Town, Panyu District, Guangzhou. We usually drive there by ourselves. We can park in two parking lots. One is located opposite Shawan Cinema, where parking is more convenient. After getting off the bus, you will arrive at the commercial street of the ancient town. You can go to "Qinfang Garden" to try the famous ginger milk and other special snacks. Or you can park in the parking lot near Shawan Nursing Home. If you enter from there, you can see a large area of lotus flowers in summer. The scenery is beautiful and it is the best choice for taking pictures. Parking here is free, but if you take the bus, the locals said that you should take Exit B of Shiqiao Metro Station and take Bus No. 67 to Shawan Cultural Center Station.

Shawan Ancient Town is free to visit, and there are not many tourists. It does not have a prosperous commercial background like other famous ancient towns, so it is very comfortable to wander around the ancient town here, and you will not only take pictures of people. Some attractions in it require tickets, such as Liugeng Hall and other memorial halls. Generally, the ticket for a hall is 10 yuan. If you buy a package ticket, it will be much cheaper and you can enter all the halls in the ancient town. The buildings in the hall are traditional Lingnan-style buildings, with exquisite details and excellent performance. Friends who like architecture may wish to buy a pass to appreciate the hall carefully, and there are also some exhibitions from time to time.

Although Shawan Ancient Town does not have a large number of famous tourists, it does have the flavor of Lingnan Ancient Town, quiet and charming. I like it because although it does not have a very gorgeous and strong style, every place can find its unique details. We found that many walls here are built with many shells, and the shell walls are quite distinctive. What's more interesting is that there are many painted figures and scenes on the ancient walls. With the real "antiques", scenes of life are presented in front of you. There is also a scenic spot in the ancient town called Wenfeng Tower, and next to it is the ancient town study, which makes the small ancient town have a strong book fragrance.

Shawan Ancient Town can be visited in a day, and the cost is relatively low. If you are traveling to Panyu on weekends or traveling to Panyu, this small ancient town is also a good choice.

Shawan Ancient Town is located in the hundreds of years old ancient building area of Panyu District. Due to the yearning for ancient buildings and ancient culture, I took advantage of my leisure time and headed straight for here with my classmates. Shawan Ancient Town, here we come! Coming here did not disappoint us. The ancient buildings made me linger. Touching those blue bricks, it seemed that I saw the life scenes of the ancient people. These scenes made me fall in love with them instantly. Of course, there are many modern rooms in the village now, and many people also live in the village. This makes the ancient town lose a lot of color, but there is no way. In fact, the best protection for ancient buildings is to repair the old as it is. Only when people live in it, an ancient town will be revitalized and more fascinating. The cow queen in the town is also famous. I wanted to come here to taste the cow queen's double skin milk, ginger milk, and other characteristics. However, it seems to have made me a little disappointed, but the taste is still okay. I am Crow, hello!

I just went there for the food, but there wasn't anything particularly good there. It's worth a stroll through the small streets and alleys, and then sit in a small coffee shop, which is enough.

By Dream Space |

There are quite a few small factories in the surrounding villages, but the environment is average. However, it is a different scene when you enter the quaint Lingnan garden complex. It is well maintained and renovated, and has some Lingnan water village style.

Shawan Ancient Town is in Panyu. Actually, there is no entrance fee. Only a few small scenic spots in the ancient town charge money. But I personally don’t think it is necessary to spend that money. As long as you go to the ancient town to feel the architecture of the time, it is also convenient to take a bus. If you have nothing to do, you can go for a stroll.

By AC on the breadfruit tree |

It's a little more remote, but you can still go and see it if you have time. It's similar to Huangpu Ancient Lane.

Generally speaking, Shawan does not require admission. There are only three scenic spots that require admission, and the ticket is 20 yuan. There is nothing special to see, so it doesn't matter whether you buy it or not.

To go to Shawan Ancient Town, you must first take the subway to Shiqiao, Panyu District, and then transfer to Panyu City Bus. At Shiqiao, take Bus No. 6, No. 7, No. 12, or No. 67 to [Cultural and Sports Center or Liugengtang Station], get off, and walk to Shawan Ancient Town.

Shawan Ancient Town is the best preserved and most complete Lingnan ancient village around Guangzhou. Shawan Ancient Town was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is an ancient Lingnan cultural town with a history of more than 800 years. It is rich in historical and cultural resources and its folk art is well-known in the south.

Walking into the Shawan Ancient Town area, you can not only clearly discern the historical context of the ancient town's development, but also the existing streets and alleys that are crisscrossed, ancestral halls and ancient houses dotted among them, the eaves and beams are cleverly decorated with carvings, and the brick carvings, stone carvings, wood carvings, gray carvings, and murals are colorful, deeply reflecting the profound artistic charm of this "town of culture".

It doesn't matter if you go there on weekends or statutory holidays. Although there are many people, there are plenty of parking spaces, all free. And the village is quite large and can accommodate many people, so there is no need to worry about congestion.

There are many snacks in the ancient town, and they are really delicious and not expensive. The most distinctive ones are ginger milk and double skin milk, which are 7 yuan a bowl and very tender and smooth. Shawan Cow Queen is the most famous store here.

A good tourist attraction with local characteristics in Guangdong. There are discounts for buying tickets on the travel website. There are also many things inside. Bring your children here to learn about traditional culture and some special performances. You can play in the water and catch fish in summer. There are places to eat inside. Tourist attractions are a little more expensive than outside, but the taste is okay. Unlike many other places, the price is not proportional to the experience. It is a conscientious scenic spot. It is estimated that it will be more convenient to drive by car. There is no direct subway. There may be buses, but it is estimated that there are not many. It is still good to come and play occasionally. I will recommend it to friends

Shawan Ancient Town is also famous in Guangzhou, probably because of the word "ancient town", because there are few in Guangzhou. So the city people who go there want to see the ancient buildings. The so-called ancient is only a few decades old. It is interesting to go there to recall the childhood memories. For rural children like me, such buildings are nothing special. And most of them are just renovated. But it's also nice to walk around for free.

If you are not sure about the route by car, take the subway from Guangzhou to Panyu Shiqiao Station, exit D, then transfer to bus 7B and get off at Xiangxian Middle School.

When you get off the bus, you are almost at the door. Shawan Ancient Town is now open to the public for free, but the three attractions in the ancient town, namely the He's Ancestral Hall, Sanmin Hall, and the Memorial Hall of Academician He Binglin, are charged, and the combined ticket price is 20 yuan. The most distinctive feature of the ancient town is the ginger milk and double skin milk here. I bought one to try and it was not bad, 7 yuan for a small bowl. The beef brisket noodles at the Mei Nu Congee Noodle Shop are very good, with plenty of beef brisket and thick soup. The wontons at Dangdang are also very good. It is recommended to eat the wontons. The price is very cheap, only 5 yuan for a small bowl, and the portion is very sufficient. There are not many people in the ancient town, and the various alleys have the feeling of my hometown when I was a child. People here should feel very happy and comfortable. Many of the walls are made of blue bricks, which are very old. Overall, it is not bad. You can come here for a walk.

What attracted me there were the ancient buildings of Lingnan and the small but popular Guanyin Temple. This Guanyin Temple was different from the others in that it was decorated with hanging incense coils, which was also a unique landscape.

Except for a few large ancestral halls and old houses, everything else is free, including parking. Double-skin milk and ginger milk are the local delicacies. When you are tired of walking through the streets and alleys, you can go to "Shawan Cow Queen" to eat a big meal. The scenic area is not big, and it only takes two hours to walk around slowly. Including the time for going back and forth and eating, it is just a half-day tour.

By yep_i'm who i am |

I bought a pass at the gate. The so-called pass (20 yuan) allows you to enter three ancient buildings. I thought it would be cheaper than buying them individually, but it turned out to be the same price as buying them individually... I think there is nothing to see in those three buildings. If you don't want to see them, you don't need to buy a ticket. You can walk around the town freely.

By Mumu's Travel Diary |

The architectural style is very Lingnan-style. Friends who like Lingnan architecture are worth a visit, and there is no ticket, but some buildings require tickets. The most important thing is that there are many local snacks in the village, you can really eat, eat, eat...

Although the signs of renovation in Shawan Ancient Town are a bit obvious, you will be addicted to it as you walk around.

Shawan Ancient Town, located in Panyu, is a famous historical and cultural town in China and the birthplace of Cantonese music. Liugengtang is also the ancestral hall of the He family.
