Taikoo Wharf

Built by the British company Jardine Matheson & Co. between 1904 and 1908 for use by the Swire Shipping Company, it is a relatively complete storage terminal.
It consists of three T-shaped concrete piers and seven brick-wood warehouses, and is a microcosm of Guangzhou Port’s history of foreign trade.
A “city living room” in Guangzhou that integrates cultural creativity, exhibition and trade, sightseeing, tourism, leisure and entertainment.
On the basis of preserving the original history, it was rebuilt into a creative industrial park including bars, cinemas and yacht docks.

The day we went there, there were few people.

Some boats have been converted into bars or restaurants. There are many open-air dining seats by the river, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery while dining. It's so romantic. Today's Taikoo Wharf is no longer as prosperous as it used to be. In winter, there are even fewer people, not many tourists, not many operators, and many shops are closed. I wonder if they open at night. It remains to be verified. Did I miss a great place to go at night? !

Taikoo Wharf is my favorite one, but also the one that disappointed me the most.

The first time I went there was in 2011, and the photos were taken then. It was incredibly beautiful...especially like a shining pearl on the Pearl River.

It's a pity that a row of riverside warehouses are now occupied and called the River View Bar Street. I was too disappointed and too lazy to take pictures. I probably won't go there again in the future.

By Amanda |

It's a disappointing attraction. Now it has been renovated with new containers. It doesn't look like the bar street I imagined. It's mainly a quiet bar. The overall design and development is a good project, but there is no highlight so far. Here are some photos I have to edit.

Taikoo Warehouse Wharf is located in Haizhu District, Guangzhou (formerly known as Baikeke). It was built by the British Jardine Matheson & Co. between 1904 and 1908 for use by the Taikoo Shipping Company. It was a relatively complete storage wharf in Guangzhou in the 1920s. It is a representative of the modern Thirteen Hong culture. It has been revitalized for wine exhibition and sales, catering, tourism and leisure, design, etc.

The scenery is nice, apply sunscreen and take as many photos as you want. It's quite quiet during the day.

After getting off the subway, it takes about 10 minutes by bike to reach the destination. It is a good place for taking photos. There are many people taking wedding photos, as well as many bars and restaurants. It is quite literary.

By Angela |

We are together tonight, the spring breeze is ten miles long, and it is also very comfortable to take a walk along the river after dinner

By Blue Sea |

It's a niche place suitable for taking photos.

By Wlq |

There are many bars along the river, it should be great to come here at night. A good place for literary and artistic check-in.

By The nuclear power plant failed to pass |

Taikoo Wharf is a normal neighborhood during the day, with many restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. It should be more lively at night.

By Taozi peach |

Maybe it's because it's the first month of the year and everyone is already at work.

Or maybe this place is not as famous as the Red Brick Factory.

There weren't many people here on the day I came.

Many shops are not open.

Taking photos and having fun

Still in the first month

Many families also invite lion dancers

The lion dance performers were preparing for the performance.

Very old taste

The pier is quite far, but the scenery is great. You will see many stylish pubs, ships parked at the pier, and many containers. It is very suitable for taking pictures. There are few people during the day. If you are young, it is more suitable to go at night because those bars are open at night. It is really a great atmosphere to get together with friends at the pier.

By Big Mix |

It is a good place to relax in the summer evening. The historic dock warehouse has been renovated in a unique way. Yachts are docked at the dock, and there are restaurants and bars extending to the river. If you have money, you can have bars, restaurants and cinemas. If you don't have money, you can have fun taking pictures, enjoying the cool and the scenery. No matter which way you go, you can have a romantic mood and talk about love.

It's OK here! But it's not very big. It's recommended to come here between 5:30 and 6:30 in the afternoon to take pictures of the sunset. The playing time here is about an hour (part-time photographer)

Taikoo Wharf has a different style whether in the morning or at night.

By Today's random thoughts |

It's best to come here in the evening to watch the sunset and feel the river breeze.

There are some private yachts docked here. They stay here all year round and are managed by the Yacht Association of Taikoo Wharf, which has become one of the characteristics of Taikoo Wharf. The once abandoned wharf has become a creative fashion bar and food street. The khaki exterior wall of the warehouse is a reflection of its heavy historical heritage. A small literary style and a small retro trend. The spring breeze is ten miles away and the wind is waiting for you. Taikoo Wharf is very small, but it takes half a day to walk through it carefully. The most beautiful moment of Taikoo Wharf is of course dusk. At sunset, the afterglow of the setting sun shines obliquely on the Pearl River. This kind of heartbeat is only exclusive to Taikoo Wharf.

By 🥚 |

I feel this place is much more beautiful than PaDi. The open space and the towering red walls are very picturesque. Parking is only 20 yuan if you don't park overnight! 20 yuan! ! ! ! !

There are obviously more Taobao sellers posing for photos here than at the Red Brick Factory. The shop owners bring a bunch of products, hire a model, and then make an appointment with the photographer to take photos in a certain place for an entire afternoon.

By You Chen |

There are many small shops. It would be more interesting to visit them at night when the lights are on. There is nothing to see during the day. The sunset here is beautiful.

By Alex |

Not many people, petty bourgeoisie atmosphere, beautiful night view, yacht bar lighting, good atmosphere

Taikoo Wharf is a place with almost no trees, so... even though the sky was still neither cloudy nor sunny, it still felt a bit hot, so I didn't stay there for too long.

It has a bit of literary style. Some people take wedding photos here. There are many bars at the pier, and it will be more lively here at night!

Taikoo Wharf is a wharf that was built between 1904 and 1908. It has now been designated as a cultural relic protection site in Guangzhou. In recent years, many hotels, restaurants, bars, studios, cinemas, etc. have settled here, and the style is quite petty bourgeoisie and literary. I have also been to Taikoo Wharf Cinema and bought special VIP tickets online~

The night view is beautiful, but the weather is a bit cold and there are not many people.

The Xiguan mansions, the thousand-year-old ancient roads, the Dongshan villas, the century-old warehouses... and other scenes are all witnesses to the history and culture of Guangzhou. Each landscape has a unique story behind it, and Taikoo Wharf is one of them.

It has a row of red brick warehouses. In the days when roads were not accessible, it was hidden in the Port Authority and almost unknown. At the beginning of this century, it was gradually discovered, repaired and used, forming a popular spot in the city - Taikoo Warehouse.

During the Japanese invasion of China, Taikoo Wharf was an important base for the transfer of military supplies and personnel of the Japanese invaders. Later, it was used for grain storage for a long time. In 2005, it was designated as a cultural relic protection site in Guangzhou.

After a century of ups and downs, Taikoo Wharf has been transformed into a multifunctional creative area integrating sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, catering, exhibitions and offices.

Red brick houses like these are very beautiful, especially for taking photos. However, they are still far inferior to the Red Factory, and there are not many places to take photos.

There is a cinema in Taikoo Wharf and many restaurants. If you go to Taikoo Wharf, you can watch a movie + eat + watch the sunset. Taikoo Wharf is even more beautiful under the afterglow of the sunset. In fact, this place is the same as Padi, it will be more charming at night.

In Guangzhou, a city with such a fast pace, you must have a slow life. Taikoo Wharf is where I relax. Whether I am in a good mood or a bad mood, I will call a few friends to have a drink, listen to music, look at handsome guys, and sit by the river to enjoy the breeze. This store is called Ferrero Rocher. I only come here every time, order a Margarita, and sit there all night.

By Programed |

This place seems to be some bars and small restaurants converted from old warehouses? I don't think there is any need to come.

It was a relatively complete storage wharf in Guangzhou in the 1920s. The address is No. 124, Gexin Road. It has been revitalized for wine exhibition and sales, catering, tourism and leisure, design, etc.

When it was first built, the Black Chimney Steamship Company, represented by Jardine Matheson & Co., operated routes to the Far East, Central and South Asia, and between Guangzhou and Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Haiphong (Vietnam), with 30 ships, of which 26 were cargo and cruise ships of about 3,000 tons that only berthed at the Guangzhou Taikoo Wharf to load and unload cargo.

The Taikoo Warehouse Exhibition Hall has two areas: indoor and outdoor. The indoor exhibition area is located at Warehouse No. 3 of Taikoo Warehouse Terminal, and the outdoor exhibition area is located at Bridge No. 2 of Dingziqiao. The total area is 2,600 square meters. It was officially opened to the public in April 2010. The exhibition hall integrates antique auctions, car, jewelry, clothing and other brand releases, celebrity meet-and-greets, media meet-and-greets, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, and company group activities.

There are many restaurants, bars and cinemas here. It is a good choice to invite a few friends to come here to capture the beautiful sunset on the weekend.

It was originally an old factory building, which was converted into a wine wholesale place in the early years. Now it is said to have been converted into a bar. I haven't been there for many years, so I'm not sure.

Taikoo Wharf, a bar street converted from a dock in Haizhu District, is a gathering place for many young people. It is ordinary during the day, but very lively at night. Compared with bars in other places in Guangzhou, the consumption is not expensive.

By Gemini Superman Yu Yu |

My home is only three stops away from Taikoo Wharf, which is also a good place for leisure, entertainment and taking photos. There are food and drinks here. If you like shooting, you can also go to Osaka Warehouse, where there is Taikoo Wharf Cinema, group purchase double tickets for 59.9, and there is also a large shopping mall nearby, Lefeng Plaza, where transportation is convenient and you can have fun. Taikoo Wharf consists of 3 T-shaped trestle-style concrete piers and 7 (8 numbered) brick and wood warehouses. Transportation: Take Metro Line 8 to Exit A of Shayuan Station, walk out of the station along Rongjing Road to the end, see the bus station, walk 500 meters to the right to the intersection, and Taikoo Wharf is on the left. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Taikoo Wharf.

It has a petty bourgeoisie style and a romantic atmosphere. The sunset here is also super beautiful, suitable for taking photos, and you can see a lot of street photos.

By Victory |

I went to Taikoo Wharf under the pretext of watching a movie with my kids (actually I wanted to watch one too). I bought the ticket in advance using my mobile phone, so it was not expensive. There were quite a lot of people watching movies on weekends. The cinema is not very big.

After the movie, everyone wanted to have dinner, so there was no time to go shopping in Taikoo Warehouse. The environment here is still OK, but the price of the meal is quite expensive.

In the past few years since I came to Guangzhou, I went to Taikoo Wharf for the first time a few days ago. Taikoo Wharf was a wharf used as a warehouse by the British Swire Group after the Opium Warehouse. Today's Taikoo Wharf has been developed into restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. It is a place full of literary and artistic atmosphere. In addition, Taikoo Wharf is also a good place to take pictures of the sunset. If you go to Taikoo Wharf, it is recommended to go in the evening, watch the beautiful sunset first, and then enjoy the charming night view. It will feel great. Taikoo Wharf is located on Gexin Road, Haizhu District. In terms of transportation, the bus stops at Taikoo Wharf Station and the subway stops at Shayuan Station. Here are 5 photos I took to let you feel it.

A warehouse at the harbor, a place that combines nostalgia and modernity! It's a great place for couples to stroll together!

By LOLO |

As a poor kid, I can only go there to take pictures. Rich people can go to bars and yachts to have fun.

By Eggs without shells |

Pork chop rice, 30 yuan a portion. After dinner, I went to Taikoo Wharf because it was close to my hotel. But I really couldn't understand the buses in Guangzhou. They have the same stop names in different places, or they can confuse you in one place. I wanted to go there on the first night, but unfortunately I couldn't find it even if I took the bus and asked for directions that night! This time I took the subway to Lefeng Plaza (there is a subway station) and took a taxi (I cried because of my stupidity again). I didn't line it up properly and the camera was about to run out of battery, so I hurriedly took some photos. Taikoo Wharf can be taken during the day, but it's only suitable for eating and drinking at night. There are many young people eating there at night, and it's very lively. But the liveliness is theirs, and my legs are about to break!

By pippa |

Taikoo Wharf, pretending to be abroad, is suitable for couples to date! It is nice to have a drink in the bar here at night, and you can also see the night view of the Pearl River.

By Liu Ni Nan |

You need to go to Taikoo Wharf when the sun is shining.

There are many unique restaurants and shops in Taikoo Wharf

By crayfish |

After searching, I found that Taikoo Wharf is not too far away. It takes 20 minutes by bus and 10 minutes on foot. Taikoo Wharf is transformed from an old dock, close to the river. Now there are restaurants, cafes and cinemas. It is a place where locals also come to relax and drink Shamian. The common point is that there is nothing to shop and it is suitable for taking pictures.

By Small fish hook |

Guangzhou's old wharf, now the bar street, is more beautiful at night.

By Mobao Shopping and Eating |

It used to be a dock with many warehouses, but now it has been transformed into unique restaurants, bars, and some design studios. For those who like to listen to music, drink, and chat, this is definitely a must-go place when you come to Guangzhou. A little bit of petty bourgeoisie, a little bit of literature, a little bit of retro, you will find different feelings because of your different friends.

Taikoo Wharf is located in Haizhu District, Guangzhou (formerly known as Baixianke). Get off at Shayuan Station on Guangzhou Metro Line 8, and walk about 15 minutes after exiting the station at Exit A. First, go to Taikoo Wharf Cinema to watch a movie, and then come here to see the scenery. I have always wanted to come and see it before, but I just lack the opportunity. Last time, I watched the movie too late and had to rush to catch the bus, so I couldn’t enjoy the night view here. I missed it. This time is the first time! It feels very good! There are many bars and the like on the side of the pier, which is very suitable for friends to get together, listen to songs, blow the wind, and tell the recent stories. It feels so romantic. The warehouses connected one by one are very distinctive, literary, and fresh. The consumption here is still a little expensive for people with ordinary incomes, and they can’t pretend to be petty bourgeoisie! Hehehe, so we just come here to take pictures, blow the wind by the pier, and it’s really a comfortable thing to be cool. At that moment, it seems that I have forgotten a lot of troubles! You can also see a bridge from here. Netizens say it is the Hedong Bridge. There is also a square. It is also a freehand thing to come and sit down and chat and blow the wind at night! If you like art, this is the place you must come!

By Li Juanyu |

By Shirlene |

It is far from the city center, but there are often food festivals or creative activities there.

By Pine Forest |

It is a hot spot for nightclubs and should be very lively at night. However, I went there in the afternoon and it was relatively quiet.

By Nightmare ↘﹎◇. |

There are different characteristics during the day and at night~~~~

By Finding the unknown self |

Get off at Shayuan on Guangzhou Metro Line 8 and walk about 15 minutes from Exit A. It didn't seem far when you were going there, but it seemed very far when you were coming back. There are many places to eat along the way, but I guess the restaurants were all full when we got there.

Taikoo Wharf is very small, and you can walk around it in 10 minutes, but there are many details and literary things here. There are many bars and the like near the pier, which is very suitable for friends to get together, listen to songs, feel the breeze, and tell the recent stories.

Recommended way to play: Go to Taikoo Wharf Cinema in the afternoon to watch a movie. It is much cheaper to buy it in a group online. After watching the movie around 5 pm, go shopping in Taikoo Wharf. In summer, start watching the sunset around 6:20 pm. Finally, have a romantic dinner to end this trip.

By Lin YuyunY |

The area is not large, and the building is very similar to that of a red brick factory, so it is not very impressive.

I like this place very much. It gives people a different taste.... The consumption price is medium to high. The atmosphere is better when you go there at night.

【Taikoo Wharf】. I heard before that this is one of the best places to watch the sunset in Guangzhou. I have read the introduction in the guide and always wanted to go there, but it is too far. Take the subway to Shayuan Station, walk along Gongye Avenue North for a while, turn left and you will see the road sign (please consult Baidu Maps for the specific route).

Taikoo Warehouse used to be a wharf, and now some ships have been turned into restaurants for tourists to play, and there are many bars. Many warehouses have been turned into restaurants, so I didn't go in to visit. Taikoo Warehouse is not big, similar to the Fisherman's Wharf in Macau, and there is a volunteer park next to it. Imagination is always better than reality. Taikoo Warehouse is not as fun as I imagined. When I went there, it was only a little after 4 pm, so I didn't wait until sunset. . I just walked outside, and there were not many people. The building is quite artistic

No. 1 and No. 2 are wine warehouses, which have a wide range of wine collections and a wine tasting area. Among them, No. 2 warehouse also retains many buildings of different styles such as Bordeaux Town and Bavaria Winery in Germany. No. 3 warehouse is the exhibition center. No. 4 and No. 5 warehouses are clothing creative design parks. No. 6 and No. 7 warehouses are the first waterfront cinemas in China.

The impression of Taikoo Wharf is those red brick houses. It is best to come here at dusk, if possible, you can see the charming sunset. If you feel that it is not enough, there is also a cinema there.

The Taikoo Warehouse Cinema, located on the bank of the Pearl River, is located at No. 124, Gexin Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou. It is on the east bank of the Nanhe River of the Pearl River, facing the Baietan Lake of the Pearl River to the north and the Hedong Bridge to the south. It used to be a warehouse built by the former British merchant Taikoo Company between 1904 and 1908. The wharf consists of 3 T-shaped trestle-style concrete wharves and 7 (8 numbered) brick-wood warehouses. It was designated as a cultural relic protection unit in Guangzhou in 2005. It has now been transformed into a commercial district, and now there are cinemas, yacht clubs, Pearl River cruises, and a red wine trade exhibition center, etc.
