Huizhou West Lake

Compared with Hangzhou West Lake, it has a Lingnan style and is known as the lungs of the city. It consists of "five lakes, six bridges and eight scenes", and it takes a lot of time to visit them all.
Pinghu Lake is the largest of the lakes, and most of the core attractions are concentrated here. You can visit Fengzhu Garden along the embankment on the north side of the lake, where the lotus flowers bloom beautifully in summer.
Xiajiao East Road and Xiajiao Middle Road to the north of Pinghu Lake are the oldest residential areas in Huizhou. They are shaded by green trees and are often used by local residents to relax and pass the time.
The lake area is very suitable for boating, whether it is a hand paddle boat or an electric boat, you can find fun.

I went to Huizhou West Lake during the Qingming Festival. Don't ask why I was so anxious to see the crowds, because if there was no holiday, I would not have the time to ride a bicycle from Guangzhou to Huizhou. Unfortunately, bicycles are not allowed to enter Huizhou West Lake, so I couldn't go in and have a good time. I feel that no matter day or night, West Lake makes people feel comfortable, comparable to Hangzhou West Lake. I can only envy the people of Huizhou when I leave.

I heard that you have to visit West Lake when you come to Huizhou. The park is free. I went there during the Spring Festival and the temperature was suitable. I walked around during the day and there was a breeze, which was very comfortable. But it was quite big inside. The most unique thing should be the light festival at night. It is said that there is one every year, but there are so many people that you can hardly walk. I heard that they are all friends from all over the world. But it is really beautiful. Don’t be fooled by the strange colors of some light sculptures during the day. It is completely different when the lights are turned on at night.

Live life to the fullest and enjoy life.

If I were to compare the West Lake to Xi Shi, she would look beautiful with either light or heavy makeup.

——After the winter solstice, the south is still in early summer. I wander aimlessly between rivers and lakes, watching the rippling water, the dancing birds, the blooming flowers and the falling leaves. I feel the time passing by like the silent flowing water. I am suddenly back to Suzhou and Hangzhou in 2009. At that time, the sun was shining and I was in a relaxed mood. A lake is the soul of a city. The lake is plain and the city is at peace with the world. I am wondering if I should change my train ticket to the day after tomorrow, and stay in this quiet place for another day.

Huizhou's 4A-level scenic spot, no tickets are required. Although the buildings are new, they are very tasteful. Especially the Song-style courtyard on Gushan Mountain and Fengzhu Garden, where you can see a different scene at every step. Under the sunset and in the autumn wind, the fallen leaves are rustling, quiet and elegant. The styles of bridges and pavilions are also varied. The small island is surrounded by ancient trees and lush grass. Feel it with your heart, and you will find beauty everywhere.

By Lauyoo. |

It takes about 3 hours to walk around the entire West Lake in Huizhou, and about 6 hours to explore it in depth. It will be better to visit in the morning and afternoon when there are fewer people.

By Hold the hand and drag the child away |

Huizhou West Lake is the West Lake Park in the urban area. It is not as vast as Hangzhou West Lake, but it is dotted with small islands and islets, with flocks of birds, and different waters divided by small bridges and embankments. The sky is low and the sudden rain has just stopped. There is the calm spring scenery of Lingnan, and the reflection shows a bit of the ever-changing charm. However, it is a pity for the Sizhou Tower. Looking closely, it looks like a half-new and half-old weird after being over-renovated in some year. Now it is only suitable to appear in photos as a background.

I heard that Huizhou West Lake is comparable to Hangzhou West Lake, so I chose it as the final destination of this trip. The scenery is indeed good, but it still lacks cultural heritage compared to Hangzhou West Lake. The following is my personal impression (through observation, I found that the Guangdong people who got rich first were earlier in repairing and renovating Huizhou West Lake. The rich local tyrants didn’t know how to do it, and it was too late when they finished)

You can see it before landing at Huizhou Pingtan Airport.

By Waterwood Years |

West Lake is in the urban area of Huizhou, but it is not noisy at all and very quiet. The park is free

By ssnukqje |

It is worth a visit among the popular check-in spots.

By Hao Zi |

It's not just scenic spots like West Lake that have all kinds of advertisements that ruin the view!

By Martian User |

There is a temple and a Taoist temple in West Lake, Huizhou. To burn incense in the temple, you need to make a donation, but to burn incense in the Taoist temple, you can pick it up at the door. The temple is bustling with people, but in the Taoist temple, there is a lingering fragrance, as if you are in a busy city, but also like being in the deep mountains.

By Parkkii_ |

It is a different scenery from the West Lake in Hangzhou. It is worth taking a walk after dinner.

By Autumn Leaves |

The West Lake in Huizhou has a winding shore and a pleasing lake view. The water is clear, there are flowing water under small bridges, bright flowers and green leaves, a Jiangnan scenery, and the sweet fragrance of osmanthus.

By OMG wish me good luck |

I looked up and found that it was daybreak. Although the clouds were thick, the sun still emitted some faint light through the clouds. The scenery of the whole lake was different. It was no longer the kind of ink painting, but a fresh-style oil painting.

I have been to West Lake in Hangzhou and Slender West Lake in Yangzhou. This time I came to West Lake in Huizhou with my friends. We spent a relaxing afternoon cruising on the lake, chatting about everything. It is also a beautiful thing in life.

[New Year Tour] Check-in at Huizhou West Lake on February 12, 2016.

By |

Although I have never been to West Lake in Hangzhou, I also came to see West Lake in Huizhou. I went there on an April afternoon in 2017. The wind was very strong in the evening. It was very cold in April. What made tourists like me feel warm the most was that there was a charging station in the park, which was like a lifesaver for me when my phone was out of battery.

By Shredded Green Pepper and Potato |

Although it is a 5A tourist attraction, it is not as popular as a 5A tourist attraction. It does not impress people at first sight. It is a good place for walking.

By Through thick and thin |

It is famous for the romantic talent and great writer Su Dongpo. A nice West Lake.

By yo yo |

In the afternoon, I took a taxi from the hotel to Huizhou West Lake. The fare was 11 yuan. The scenic area was open for free. It still felt a bit like West Lake. There were not too many people. The scenic area was quite large. I walked around, stopped, looked around, and rested. It was quite leisurely. I took the bus back to the hotel. Yangchengtong, Lingnantong, WeChat, and cash all accepted 2 yuan.

By Angelia |

Compared with densely populated and commercial attractions, the cultural atmosphere of West Lake allows people to enjoy the beautiful scenery and relax, so it is worth the trip.

By Vero |

A good place for citizens to relax. Those who live more than 100km away don't have to come, and don't come here just for this place. There is a Dongguan-Huizhou Metro Station, which can be seen on Baidu Maps. You can also buy tickets. Those who come from Xunliao Bay and Shuangyue Bay should not come, as it will affect your mood. If you have to say that you are here, it's OK...

By Lufei |

Located in the city center, the transportation is very convenient and the scenery is nice.

By Travel study room of big names |

The beauty of Huizhou West Lake is well-deserved.

What impressed me most was a piece of gossip. When you visit West Lake with locals, you will definitely gossip about the story of Su Shi and Wang Zhaoyun.

During Chinese New Year, the lantern display at West Lake is beautiful.

By TCF |

Good, very good, very good, nice scenery, good air, very good environment. The wind was very strong, it happened to be in the afternoon, the wind was very refreshing…

By Li Romance |

West Lake is really big. It took me nearly four hours to walk around the whole lake.

By I'm here |

Located in the central area of Huicheng, Huizhou City, it consists of the West Lake Scenic Area and the Honghua Lake Scenic Area.

By Single port |

Is it beautiful? It is indeed comparable to the West Lake in Hangzhou. Thinking of the crowds on the Broken Bridge during the holidays every year, I suddenly feel happier.

By wjl87 |

Very ordinary, can't compare with the West Lake in Hangzhou

By Funny demon |

Huizhou West Lake is beautiful with clear water and gentle wind.

By Zheng Xiaoxuan |

The scenery over West Lake is nice and the environment is more suitable for the elderly

By Mr. Chen |

It's similar to other parks, except that the lights are more beautiful during holidays.

By A Wandering Guide for Egg Tarts |

It just happened to be a lantern festival. It was quite interesting. The environment was great and suitable for family outings.

By zichen97 |

From the first to the fifteenth day of the Lunar New Year, the lanterns at West Lake in Huizhou are worth seeing. The lights are on from 6:30 to 10:30. You can only enter through the main gate, but you can exit through the side gate. Follow the flow of people and enjoy the good luck for a smooth year. 💞

By Xin Tong |

This is a free scenic spot and there are a lot of people every weekend!

By ee me ee |

The scenery is very beautiful, and there are a lot of poems around it. It's like riding a time machine and feeling the joy of the literati enjoying the West Lake thousands of years ago! The lanterns at night are also very beautiful, which makes people marvel!

By Li Tao |

Very good place, I recommend staying at Huiyi Hotel, it's not expensive, the suite is only over 300, over 40 square meters, lake view room

By travel style |

After get off work, I drove to Huizhou West Lake for a tour. It was nice. The lights were beautiful and the view was amazing. You can't capture the effect with a photo. It looked beautiful. But it was so cold. The lights were turned off at 10 o'clock.

By Your smile is good weather |

I have also been to Huizhou West Lake during the day, but compared to the night lantern festival, the lantern festival is more recommended. However, it is not often available. If you encounter it, you must go there to experience the romance of Huizhou West Lake.

By Zeng Xufa |

It is troublesome to drive in the peak season. It is recommended to take the urban rail to Xihu Station. After exiting the urban rail, walk a few hundred meters to the gate. It is recommended to go to the lake for a tour. There are more scenery to see on the lake. It is best to walk after the tour.

By Little stupid pig |

Huizhou West Lake is a business card of Huizhou City. The West Lake scenic area is very clean and hygienic. It is a place suitable for family travel. It is picturesque in all seasons. It is a good place to stop and rest. The Lantern Festival during the Spring Festival is unforgettable. The bathroom facilities are very complete.

By Zhibai |

This 4A scenic spot has beautiful scenery, complete facilities, and no tickets are required. You can enjoy it leisurely. It is a very meaningful day!

By Dia_zheng |

It is a tourist check-in point. It contains many attractions. It is still a bit tiring to walk. It is best to take a day to walk slowly or take a sightseeing bus. It should be noted that it is divided into two areas. The sightseeing bus can only drive in one designated area. In addition, it is difficult to park in the city center. At that time, I was just waiting for someone to be free and strolled around the West Lake, so I just passed by in a hurry and did not stay for too long.

By Lilly_Chu |

This West Lake Park is still worth a visit. There are many people there.

By one day |

Life is not just about getting by, but also about poetry and the distance; Huizhou is not only about the blue sea and blue sky, but also about Su Shi and West Lake. I only knew about West Lake in Hangzhou before, and I didn't know about West Lake in Huizhou until I came to Guangzhou. But seriously speaking, West Lake in Huizhou has many historical origins, among which the most famous one is the one related to Su Shi. There are 36 West Lakes in the world, and West Lake in Huizhou is better in its curves. The "curve" of West Lake in Huizhou was first laid down by Su Shi. West Lake in Huizhou is very large, so if you are short on time, you can enter from the main gate (Pinghumen Station) and enjoy it along the main road. There are many classic attractions on the main road: Sizhou Tower, Dongpo Garden of Gushan, Jiuqu Bridge, Yanxia Dike, Fengzhu Garden, etc.

By Iris |

West Lake is quite big, and my favorite part is the pavilions and towers in Fengzhu Garden.

By Jacinthe |

The scenery is OK, but of course it cannot be compared with the real West Lake and Suzhou gardens. If you are too busy to go to Hangzhou and Suzhou, you can also visit the West Lake in Huizhou. It is recommended to go in the morning or afternoon to avoid the hot sun at noon.

By Half car mulberry |

After finishing the work in a hurry during the day, I went for a walk with my colleagues at the West Lake. It was already night when we arrived at the West Lake. We didn’t get to see the beauty of the West Lake during the day, but we experienced the freshness of the West Lake after the rain at night. We walked around the West Lake. The shops and temples were closed and there were no lights. We couldn’t see its full picture with our naked eyes, but we could feel its heartbeat with our breath.

By GoldenCow |

2014.2 You can take a bus from Huizhou Railway Station to West Lake.

By Dayu Food |

Huizhou West Lake is just a lake, there is nothing interesting to see.

There is no local feature.

No tickets are required, but the boat ride is a bit expensive.

There's nothing good to eat around.

The transportation is quite convenient.

The overall rating is 3 points.

By distance |

I visited in the evening, and a ray of setting sun spread across the water, giving the impression that half of the river was green and half was red. Huizhou West Lake was built by Mr. Su Dongpo, and it exudes a strong cultural atmosphere. Various statues, calligraphy, pavilions, and towers are beautifully designed. It is really pleasant to stroll in the sunset.

By Little bad friend |

A national scenic spot and national AAAA-level tourist attraction characterized by elegant and profound mountains and rivers, with historical and cultural heritage and leisure and sightseeing as its main functions.

By E-easier |

I went there in 2015. It was an ordinary park with a lake. I remember that it seemed to be free of admission. The park was very large and suitable for taking a walk or cycling after dinner or on Sundays...

By Martian User |

The scenery is very beautiful. I personally think it is much better than the one in Hangzhou.

By Bamboo umbrella light |

The public service is very good. I didn't find any garbage on the ground after visiting the whole scenic area. The scenery is beautiful and I like the names of various pavilions. I smelled the breath of literati and scholars. I heard that the night view is more beautiful. Due to time constraints, I only took pictures of the daytime scenery. I will definitely come again, hahahaha

By Li Da Mao_Monique |

The scenery is nice, and there is no entrance fee. The parking fee is only 10 yuan per vehicle, and it can be used from morning to 7 o'clock in the evening. Although I have not been to the West Lake in Hangzhou, the West Lake in Huizhou is less crowded, more green, and very comfortable.

By June Love Photography |

You will understand Huizhou’s slow-paced life if you have been to West Lake in the morning.

Although I have never been to West Lake in Hangzhou, the West Lake in Huizhou is not bad at all.

I like this city and the people in it.

I had dinner early and went to the West Lake for a stroll. By chance, the sunset was beautiful.

By Lone Walker |

It was drizzling, and walking in the rain along the West Lake was a unique experience.

By Delia |

I personally feel it's okay. Although it's called West Lake, it's just like a city park. In the morning, many elderly people sing and dance there. It's okay to go there occasionally.

By Tiger |

I thought that the Little West Lake had no special features, but after visiting it, I found that although it is not as big as the West Lake in Hangzhou, the scenery is not inferior.

By China-TravelNote users |

Good place, friends who come to Huizhou must come to West Lake🌹

By Tingting |

Very good attractions in the city, but there are a lot of people

By Cherry tomatoes |

It exceeded my expectations. The park is beautiful as a whole, with detailed greenery, good sanitary environment, and better service from the staff. It is much better than the dirty and messy West Lake in Hangzhou that I visited last year!

By 🎀Baby_Yingen🎀 |

Huizhou West Lake, known as the Little West Lake of Hangzhou, has nice scenery.

By Little V Sauce |

If you come to Huizhou, you must check in!

The main reason why I don't like to join a tour group is that due to time constraints, we walked the entire West Lake step by step in 3 hours, but the regular tour group only takes 1.5 hours. If you like, you can swim around the lake, Fengzhu Garden, and Sizhou Tower are all very good to visit and take pictures along the way.

There are two Gongcha shops in West Lake. The price is a little more expensive than takeout. When it is so hot, it is like meeting true love~

By keke |

I went for an afternoon stroll today, and I think it's really good! First of all, this West Lake does not require tickets, but the public services and sanitary environment are very good! Secondly, the staff are warm and polite, and the fabrication may be because of the competition to create a 5A scenic spot, haha, I hope to stay closer. The scenery is very good, the vegetation is very rich, and it is definitely a good place for leisure walks and relaxation! All of all, it is because Su Dongpo was demoted to this place that Huizhou West Lake has become so famous. To say that there are very few real historical relics, you can still walk around often if you have the opportunity!

By Lazy Fish |

Huizhou West Lake should be regarded as one of the best scenic spots in Huizhou. Although it cannot be compared with Hangzhou West Lake, it has its own charm.

Wandering in the corridors and enjoying Cantonese opera, you will feel extremely enjoyable.

By Tang Zhe |

Huizhou West Lake is famous for its 5 lakes, 6 bridges and 8 views. Su Dongpo once lived here in exile for three years. Solitary Hill, Yanxia Dike, Su Dike and Nine-Curve Bridge are like the misty Jiangnan. Hangzhou has the Leifeng Pagoda, while Huizhou has the Sizhou Pagoda. Sitting on a wooden chair in Fengzhu Garden, a kapok flower fell to the ground with a crisp sound. Everything is different in the end.

By Floating |

Huizhou West Lake, known as the Little West Lake of Hangzhou, has nice scenery. Riding a pedalo there is quite interesting and relaxing.

By Caterpillar |

Just stroll around, the park is decorated with lights and there is a Chinese New Year atmosphere.

By Ha ha |

The scenery is not inferior to the West Lake in Hangzhou. The environment is quiet, and the pavilions and towers are cleverly matched, which is pleasing to the eye.

By hdjducbw |

There is a lantern festival going on now. It is very beautiful when you go there at night. I recommend going there at night! "It will be held until 2.28, from 18:30 to 22:00"

There is a bus stop near the East Gate, just search for "Pinghu Gate"!

However, it is difficult to park nearby. There is no parking lot. We parked in the Kande Hotel. If we don't consume, we have to pay 50 yuan for parking. There is no choice but to eat inside. But the lights are really beautiful! It's worth it! Recommended to see the lights!

[Foreword]: Going to Huizhou was also a last-minute decision. Originally, I wanted to go to Huizhou with my aunt's family to soak in hot springs on the first day of the Chinese New Year, but women are more troublesome~ There are a few days every month~

After much hesitation and discussion, we finally decided to go to Huizhou. Firstly, it is very close to Qingxi where we are. It only takes more than an hour to drive there (highway).

[Comments on transportation]: It's my first time in Huizhou, and I feel that Huizhou's urban structure is a bit messy. Especially the traffic, the roads are narrow, and driving is not very convenient because there are many people, especially during the Chinese New Year. If you are not familiar with the navigation, you may accidentally take a long detour, which is quite troublesome. When I first arrived at the West Lake Gate (East Gate), there were a lot of cars. By the way, it was very difficult to park. If you drive there by yourself, be careful. You can park at the North Gate. There are not many people and cars, but it is a bit off. You can directly navigate to the Huizhou West Lake parking lot. Also, don't park randomly, especially near the scenic area, otherwise you will be fined (because that's what we did--)

[Comments on the scenic spot]: The facilities in the scenic spot are very messy and irregular. There are few signposts, even fewer maps, and the same goes for toilets and convenience stores. The 5A level is a bit ridiculous. You will get lost if you are not careful, and the West Lake is very big. As for the scenery, it is just so-so. I have been to the West Lake in Hangzhou and it feels very ordinary. When we went there yesterday, the weather was not very good, it was cold and drizzling.

[Recommendation]: Three stars. It is suitable for taking a walk, playing in the water, rowing or something like that on weekdays. Anyway, I don't like it, and neither do my family members. I don't recommend going there when there are many people and the weather is bad. It is not recommended to go there because of the traffic jams. If you go there in summer, you can enjoy the flowers, and in winter, you can enjoy the migratory birds. You need to find it yourself. It is suitable for families and children to travel and enjoy the mountains and waters.

[Points to note] Tickets are free, the lake is very large, and there are many places to eat around the East Gate. It is suitable for family trips, water play, boating, and flower viewing. Parking nearby is difficult, but you can take the bus and get off directly at the gate.

The attractions mentioned in the above itinerary
