Shantou Nan'ao Island

Nan'ao is the only island county in Guangdong, and the only national 4A-level tourist attraction in the entire island area among the 14 island counties (districts) in the country (including Taiwan). It has a total area of about 114.74 square kilometers, consisting of Nan'ao Island and 35 surrounding islands, of which the main island is about 111.73 square kilometers and the sea area is about 4,600 square kilometers. Located at the junction of Fujian, Guangdong and Taiwan, it is only 7 nautical miles away from the main international shipping route in the Western Pacific. It is known as the "barrier of eastern Guangdong and the throat of Fujian and Guangdong". It has always been a necessary berth and transit station for trade on the southeast coast, and is also the main channel for Taiwan and maritime trade, and an important node of the "Maritime Silk Road".
The islands are rich in resources, including the Island National Forest Park, Qing'ao Bay National Marine Park, Guangdong Nanpeng Islands National Nature Reserve, etc.
The water quality in the offshore area is good, with 1,361 species of aquatic biological resources such as fish, shrimp, crab, shellfish, algae, and plankton. The tourism resources have the characteristics of three-dimensional intersection of sea, history, mountains, and temples, and have the natural conditions of "sunshine, beach, and seawater" for modern tourism development. The main island has a coastline of 94.3 kilometers, with 66 bays, 7 of which can be developed into good ports. Among them, Yandun Bay and Changshanwei have the conditions for building a 10,000-ton deep-water dock area. Nan'ao is located at the trumpet-shaped mouth of the Taiwan Strait and is one of the places with the best wind conditions in the world.
Nan'ao has a long history of humanities. Eight thousand years ago, human civilization left its mark. There are the Xiangshan Culture and Dongkengzi Culture sites of the Neolithic Age. There are also the history of Zheng Chenggong, Qi Jiguang, Shi Lang, Liu Yongfu and other celebrities who resisted the invasion of the Japanese and defended the territory. There were 176 generals and deputy generals in the Ming and Qing dynasties. There are more than 60 cultural relics and historical sites on the island. In the long river of history, various types of cultural forms have been formed, including Maritime Silk Road culture, coastal defense military culture, religious culture, folk festival culture, and marine culture.

On February 2, 2019, we took a two-day trip to Nan'ao Island. There are many attractions to visit, and many places are suitable for hiking. Jiujian Mountain - Dajian Mountain - Ziwei Valley - Cliff Calligraphy Stone Carving Garden - Qingfeng Pavilion - Nan'ao Guicheng - Nan'ao Ming Dynasty Yandun Ruins - Qing'ao Bay Seaview Room - Dieshiyan - Nan'ao Back Garden - Nan'ao Xiongzhenguan - Nan'ao General Town Government

When we got to the island, we found that it was much bigger than we imagined. The island is nearly 60 kilometers long. The hotel we stayed in was in Qing'ao Bay, with a large beach of nearly 270 degrees, which was very unique.

As for the prosperity of the island, it was really beyond my expectation. It was more lively than Zhoushan in Zhejiang, with restaurants and hotels everywhere and a lot of traffic. I gave up the goose meat restaurant and just wanted to eat seafood. After all, the seafood on the island must be very cost-effective and fresh.

The first time I ate something called fa cao, which had a similar texture to seaweed shreds. I heard that seaweed fried rice is also a specialty on the island and a must-order dish. Other oysters and the like are more common. The oysters here are also cheap and good, 12 for 30 yuan.

Nan'ao Island was the worst place in this Shantou trip. We booked a trip with Mafeng, and when we got on the bus, we were directly persuaded to go to a farmhouse for dinner, which cost 120 yuan per person and was not included in the tour fee. We waited at the dock for more than 20 minutes, and the food was cold and unpalatable. It felt like most of the day was spent on this lunch. We went to several places in a hurry, and they were dirty and messy. The beach was average, and most of the roads were street stalls. I will not go there again.

I heard from friends that Nan'ao Island is extremely beautiful, but maybe because I have been to many coastal cities and islands, I personally think the scenery is just average. I went there for the Tropic of Cancer. To be honest, I don't have much feeling, am I numb?

If you have enough time, you can stay on the island for a night and watch the sunrise in the morning, which is a unique experience. Food on the island is also relatively expensive.

It takes about 2 hours to drive from Shantou or Chaozhou. I have been to many islands, but I don’t expect Nan’ao Island to be amazing. It is worthwhile to enjoy the sea breeze with the family and yearn for the distant places.

There are not many tourists in Nan'ao Island in winter, and it is quiet and feels more like a vacation. The Nan'ao Bridge is 11 kilometers long, with endless sea on both sides, and it still looks very spectacular.

After getting off the bridge is the Sailing Square, where there is a red lamp post. Although it is fenced off, it is a popular check-in spot for locals.

In fact, Nan'ao Island has not yet been fully developed, so the ecology is relatively good and the people are relatively simple. The so-called scenic spots may not be a gimmick to attract tourists. I finally selected a few of the best ones, but I was still a little disappointed.

For me, the most worthwhile thing about Nan'ao Island is the seafood feast, especially the fresh fish from the fish farm. It only takes 2 hours to go from the lively seafood to the seafood delicacies.

I went to Nan'ao Island. I had to pay 96 yuan to get on the island. The hotel parking fee was 30 yuan per day. There was a camera every 400 meters on the broken road. As soon as you slowed down on the roadside, the parking fee collectors would come around. As long as it was a place with a name, you had to pay an entrance fee. It wasn't expensive, only 10 yuan each. There were dozens of attractions on the island? I was also drunk. I could see a tourist attraction in 3 minutes, and the key point was that I only saw a bunch of grass in 3 minutes. That's it. The north was all gray and the smog was off the charts. The service attitude of the restaurant was good, but the price was touching, 40 yuan for a serving of fried rice. It took half an hour to drive from the hotel to the supermarket, and I was afraid of being fined on the way. By the way, there were shared bicycles, charging 20 yuan per hour... So amazing. When parking, the security guard deliberately was not at the booth. As soon as you entered and found that you had gone the wrong way, you would be charged 15 yuan immediately. You didn't even have 15 minutes of free time. This may be the worst island I have visited in the world. There is still a lot to say, forget it, I'm too lazy to say it.

The scenery is very good. In addition to watching the sea and playing in the sand, you can also go to Fengche Mountain to look up at the big windmill, overlook Nan'ao Island, and see the lighthouse (a total of four or five). The island is very large and public transportation is inconvenient, so it is best to rent a car and drive yourself

Nan'ao Island is located in the eastern Guangdong sea of Nan'ao County, Shantou City. It is an AAAA-level tourist attraction full of natural beauty and cultural atmosphere. This island is not only famous for its clear waters, soft beaches and magnificent sunrises and sunsets, but also preserves rich history and culture and unique fishing village style. When you drive to Nan'ao Island, you can enjoy the scenery along the way, feel the comfort of the sea breeze, and explore every corner of the island.

The ring road around Nan'ao Island is picturesque and suitable for driving. Along the way, you can enjoy the magnificent sea views, fishing village scenery and rural scenery.

Nan'ao Island is an island in Guangdong Province, located within the jurisdiction of Shantou City. It is one of the coastal check-in spots. There is no service. After exiting Qing'ao Bay, turn left and go to the second breakfast shop. I had diarrhea several times on the way. It is not particularly special. You can go and have a look if you have nothing to do.

By Still wanting more |

Nan'ao Island is a must-visit when visiting Shantou. The main purpose of visiting Nan'ao Island is to visit popular attractions around the island for more than 60 kilometers. It is best to drive by yourself, charter a car or join a tour group. Although there are buses from Shantou City to Nan'ao Island, and the tourist center on the island also has bus routes stopping at various attractions, it is extremely inconvenient to visit and is not recommended.

Among the many bays in Nan'ao, Yun'ao Bay has neither the blood-red sunset nor the golden sunrise, nor the long coastline with fine sand like powder, but its reputation is not inferior at all. During the day, large and small fishing boats are moored on the sea surface of Yun'ao, and simple rafts made of foam boards shuttle freely between fishing boats. These sea food stalls, which the locals call "fishing rafts", are transformed from fishing boats. Because of their large size, they are particularly eye-catching. These transformed fishing boats form a large water platform, and then use bamboo or wood to build floating houses. After simple decoration, large lanterns are hung at the door, and red paint signs are erected. They are neatly placed together to form the most famous seafood world in Nan'ao.

At night, I walked along the coastline, went to the harbor and the coast. If it was during the day, it would be very sunny here, but it was very cool at night. The Songjing I went to yesterday was swallowed by the sea after 6 o'clock, and the waves kept rolling. Not far from Songjing, there is a temple. I walked in and found that there was nothing special. The observation deck behind the mountain was also very ordinary. In general, Yun'ao Town is such a quiet small market town, which looks like a countryside but also like a market. After the sun set, I continued to walk forward in the direction of Fengche Mountain, but I only saw some seafood restaurants along the way. At 9:30 in the evening, I returned to the inn, packed up all my luggage, and prepared to go back to Shantou City the next day. Maybe I am used to city life, and I am not used to life here for the time being. If I have the opportunity in the future, I must go to Qing'ao Bay to experience the sunrise and sunset here. (0S: For details, please see the travel notes)

By Drizzle Dad |

Why do I say the scenery is average? Because the ring road is completely blocked by trees, making it inconvenient to see. There are only a few places where you can enjoy the view, and some of them are fenced off and charge a fee.

By A foodie |

Speaking of seafood, it is definitely freshest to eat at the beach. Shantou is famous for Nan'ao Island, which has beautiful scenery. At first glance, it looks no different from Koh Chang in Phuket, Thailand! The most popular place on Nan'ao Island is Qing'ao Bay, which has sea view mansions and many seafood restaurants. I saw a very popular seafood restaurant on the main road by the sea. Many people were catching PP shrimps. The PP shrimps were so big and lively.

I hesitated for a moment, thinking that shrimps are too expensive and I probably can’t afford them.

Hahaha, just kidding. Although the seafood in Shantou is not very cheap, the prices are relatively reasonable. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many people catching seafood there. It's just that it's difficult for me to order food alone, and it would be a waste if I can't finish it.

On an island with good weather, you can take great photos no matter how you take them, it is definitely worth it.

Buy seafood at the market in the morning, have a picnic at noon, drink milk tea and enjoy the sea breeze in the evening, and catch 🦀

By China-TravelNote users |

The island is very quiet and there are not many food options. It is suitable for clearing the stomach and taking a daze.

By Lorena |

I went there in mid-September. There were very few people on the island. The B&B I stayed in was very cheap. It was very close to the beach, which was clean and free of garbage. It was just a bit boring except for the sea, but it was still nice to relax.

When traveling to South Australia, you must go fishing. You can eat the freshest seafood, and you can also take a boat to the middle of the sea to fish and experience a different island tour.

By . |

It is recommended to drive by yourself or charter a car on the island. Attractions: General's Mansion (history), Songjing (history), Jinjiaoyi Lighthouse (must go), Houhuayuan Village (must go), Treasure Island (must go), Qingao Bay (must go), Huanghuashan Forest Park (average), Wind Power Generation (not good). The rest can be ignored.

2019.1.31 Nan'ao Island trip, self-driving tour is really recommended! It's so convenient! You must choose a good weather, blue sky and blue water, and you can see the stars at night. It's best to rent a car with a sunroof, because you can travel around the island at night while watching the stars in the sky, which is really great!

By Raging milk girl |

I have long heard of the famous Nan'ao Island. I went there this summer and found that this island is built like a city. The planning inside is getting better and better. It has developed rapidly in recent years, and the tourism facilities are becoming more and more complete.

By Cute |

There are circular buses on Nan'ao Island that can go to various attractions. I found on the Internet before that there is a bus every half an hour, and the interval is too long, so some netizens suggested chartering a bus for sightseeing. However, I was traveling in the off-season, and I personally tested that the bus has been increased to every 8 minutes. There are also bus routes 601 and 602 on the island, and routes 105 and 161 that open to Shantou City. A total of 4 bus lines circulate on the island, so the waiting time for the bus will not be too long, and the bus tour can fully satisfy you. In addition, residents on the island said that there are buses from the Tropic of Cancer Square to the tourist center at nine o'clock in the evening at the latest.

The attractions on Nan'ao Island have a good thing. Every place where tickets are sold has a convenient drinking water bucket. As long as you have a cup, you can get free water. The infrastructure is still good. The attractions on Nan'ao Island are very small and can be visited in a few hours at most. This can also be seen from the ticket prices.

Two days are enough to visit Nan'ao Island. If you take the bus like me, you can visit all the attractions where the bus stops in two days without rushing. If you drive yourself, you can also visit all the attractions where the bus does not stop, so two days are enough.

By Wisdom |

It was very windy and cold when I went there in winter. I still recommend going there in summer, as the seafood in Nan'ao is delicious.

By Hanping |

1. The scenery along the way is common on islands, not very special. The beach is well said, but in fact there is nothing special about it, it is just an ordinary beach.

2. I didn’t find any special features. It’s just a relatively quiet island.

3. Because it is a rented B&B, the landlord should be a nice person.

4. The service depends on who you are. I would rate it with 5 stars. Foreigners who speak Mandarin are relatively kind, so I rate it 4 stars. The quality of locals is rated 1 star. Foreigners who speak Mandarin are basically trying to rip you off. I also travel a lot for business, but the first time I was ripped off was on this island. I won’t talk about the ones who just arrived. When we went to the restaurant to eat in the afternoon, there was no rice. They said we only ordered stir-fried vegetables, but didn’t say we wanted to eat rice. So there were only stir-fried vegetables, but no rice. We had to order fried rice before we could get it, which was 15 yuan a portion. Otherwise, rice noodles would be OK, 10 yuan a portion. Anyway, there would be no rice because we didn’t order it.

5. It is very wise to stay in the county this time. The homestay is right by the sea and the landlord is nice. Qing'ao Bay has no attractive places and the local culture is poor.

6. So overall, I don't recommend going. If you really want to go, stay in the county town. The bus around the island runs every 10 to 15 minutes. It's not bad to stay in a B&B. If you want to know about B&Bs, you can ask me. I think the owner is pretty good. Anyway, I will never come back for the rest of my life. After all, I, who thinks I'm a little old fox, can admit that I was deceived and unlucky. I really can't come back.

7. The attached pictures were taken from upstairs and downstairs.

When I went to Shantou in 2013, there was no Nan'ao Bridge. Now it is 2018 and the transportation is very convenient. I finally visited Nan'ao. The prices on the island are not high and the seafood is delicious. It is better to go in the off-season. You can stay in a sea view room for 100 yuan.

By |

It's OK. After crossing the Nan'ao Bridge, you need to continue to take a bus to Nan'ao County.

I took a walk at night, but actually didn't see anythingƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ

By Jacky |

The prices on Nan'ao Island are not high, and there are not many people during the National Day holiday. It feels very good. The sea and the sky are one color. It is very beautiful. In fact, there are really many beautiful scenery in China, but we just need to explore.

By pp🍉 |

Nan'ao Island is really a very comfortable island, whether you go with friends, family or a partner. With the Nan'ao Bridge separating it from the city, Nan'ao Island is like a paradise. It has its own buses, and every turn of the winding mountain road is a new scenery. The local residents are very friendly and simple. Sometimes you will meet many grandparents carrying their loads to sell sweet potatoes. They look quite old, but they are still strong and can speak some Mandarin with a Chaoshan accent. In short, they are very cute.

By Mai funfun |

Nan'ao Island is really big. If you don't drive yourself, you really don't know how to travel around it. I drove around the island along the coast and checked in at the designated time. The scenery along the way was nice. I felt very happy looking at the vast sea, although the traffic jam was speechless.

By Smart Rong Er |

I have been to Nan'ao Island more than once. Every time I come, I am shocked by the blue sea. Every time I come, I am glad that I am so close to it and can come often. There are four lighthouses on the island, all of which are quite beautiful, and there are also several windmills. I thought that when I go around the island, I can see the sea and the lighthouses. Traffic control is implemented on the island. After crossing the bridge, you must turn right to enter the seaside road to get on the island. The first half of the seaside road is a one-way street, so entering and leaving the island forms a circle, a bit like not going back, haha.

By ✨Dandan✨ |

The Nan'ao Island scenic spot pass is 40 yuan, including "Songjing, Qing'ao Bay, Treasure Island, and General's Mansion". It took us less than 4 hours to visit all the attractions. I felt that the attractions were small and I was quite disappointed.

By cool |

Shantou city is not very interesting, but you must take a day to visit the surrounding Nan'ao Island. There are 161A and B buses from the city to Nan'ao Island. They go the same way. Line B goes north through Chenghai and then to the island. The stops and time are slightly closer. It costs 15 yuan per person and runs every half an hour. Just get off at the tourist center (many guides say you have to get off at the big circle on the top of the mountain, but it is not necessary). Wait for the 602 bus around the island to reach Qing'ao Bay. When you drive on the Nan'ao Bridge, the scenery becomes extremely beautiful, so be sure to prepare your camera in advance.

In the off-season, there are not many tourists on the island. The sky is particularly blue, the sand is very fine, and walking on the beach, enjoying the sea breeze, imagining what the mainland on the other side would be like, and whether there would be such a person doing the same thing as me, running, playing in the water or something else. It seems that all the troubles at work have dissipated. At this moment, at this time, in this scene, there should be no better choice than to enjoy.

By To make money and become a rich woman |

The sea of Nan'ao Island is relatively unpolluted. During the trip, I heard an uncle say that the sea with sandworms is generally clean and less polluted. The development of the island needs to be improved. There are many undeveloped places on the island. The wind power generation and Tianhou Temple that can be seen everywhere are the characteristics of Nan'ao Island. The most iconic attractions are the Tropic of Cancer sign and the Gate of Nature, which are worth seeing. The seafood on the island is also very fresh, with oysters just caught from the sea.

By Your Highness |

The waves are so big. There is no entrance fee to Qing'ao Bay. A toll of 96 yuan is required before entering.

By ❤mya |

Because the four of us who are bad at finding our way around wanted to go on a spontaneous trip, we took numerous buses from the high-speed rail station to get to the island. We were exhausted physically and mentally, but when we got on the bridge and saw such a beautiful scenery, our fatigue completely faded away. The sky was blue with white clouds and the scenery was no less than that of Southeast Asia. It just felt that it had not been fully developed. The whole island was very large and the attractions were relatively scattered. Although there were buses around the island, it was still recommended to drive by yourself, which was much more convenient.

By Wanwan |

Drive there by yourself, the car across the bridge costs 96 yuan, and after crossing the bridge, you still have to drive for a while to reach the beach. For mainlanders like us who rarely see the sea, we are excited to go swimming in the sea. It's great. It is recommended to go early in the morning, otherwise it will be very hot

By Wu Fat Face |

Nan'ao Island is not big. The more popular attractions are Qing'ao Bay and Houzhai Seaside Road. Qing'ao Bay has a bathing beach, and Haibin Road is the urban area of the entire Nan'ao Island. Accommodation can be near Xiangyun Square, which is more convenient for tourists who do not drive. Because it is an island, the food on the island is basically seafood food stalls. The shops near the sea are more expensive. You can choose group purchases on online platforms and talk to the store owner. The price is relatively fixed. You can also choose some small shops where locals eat in Houzhai Town, and the price will be more favorable. When I went there, the weather was very good and the sea was very beautiful, so that my friends who were traveling with me were amazed that they had gone to a fake Nan'ao Island before. After staying on the island for two days, I found that the best time to see the sea was around 10:30 to 11:00 in the morning. It was a very refreshing blue-green color, it was sunny at noon, and the fog was heavy in the morning.

By Yokya |

When my baby was 6 months old, I took her to see the sea for the first time. As a native of Shantou, I have a special feeling for the sea. I like the island of Nan'ao. I listened to the sea breeze and looked at the sea quietly. I was very satisfied to have her by my side today.

By Anda-Chen |

Nan'ao Island is known as the "Pearl of the East Guangdong Sea", "Chaoshan Barrier, Fujian-Guangdong Throat", and is rich in tourism resources. It has the characteristics of "sea, mountain, history, temple" and cultural crossover. It is a good choice to come to the island to enjoy the sea breeze, step on the waves, and eat seafood. It is a good place for leisure! It is worth a walk. I recommend the Chaoshan chartered car driver phone number 15915560025. The price is affordable, the service attitude is good, the main attractions will be taken, the driver is familiar with the island environment, and drives steadily. I hope it can help everyone!

I have always been thinking about Nan'ao Island, and finally came here during an office trip. There are many islands in Guangdong. Shantou Nan'ao Island is different from other places and I have been thinking about it because it seems that among the attractions in Shantou, the most famous one is Nan'ao Island. So, no matter what, I have been thinking about coming here once. Although some local friends in Shantou who have never been here have fooled me and said that the ticket is 100 yuan per person, there should be no bridge at that time, and the boat ticket when taking the boat. Now the bridge is 96 yuan per car, and we paid 96 yuan. The road along the island here is very suitable for self-driving tours. There are some viewing platforms along the way from time to time. Some viewing beaches have a small path. Because there is no one to manage it, there are many morning exercises, and the path is almost submerged. If you want to explore the beaches on these paths, it is best to bring mosquito and insect repellent spray. In any case, Nan'ao Island is still worth visiting. The sea and sky are mostly the color of the sky reflected in the water, so it becomes the sea and sky. Sunny days are suitable for island tours.

By Sunrise at sea |

Nan'ao Island has charming scenery and rich tourism resources, especially the white and fine sand in Qing'ao Bay. After landing on the island, you will feel like you don't want to leave. It is worth coming here to play.

By Sunrise at sea |

When you come to Nan'ao Island, you will not only enjoy a beach, but also an island, which is of great significance. Here you will experience different coastal scenery, the thrill of speeding on the sea, the charm of blue sea and blue sky, fresh and delicious seafood, the hospitality of Chaoshan people, etc. It is worth recommending

I went to Shantou for a weekend self-driving tour of Nan'ao Island on a business trip. It was not very good! The island trip started from Longguang Sheraton Hotel and drove for 1 hour and 20 minutes. The Nan'ao Bridge charged 96 yuan/car for a single charge. We drove along the coast and stopped all the way. We stopped to see the scenery. Some places also charged a parking fee of 10 yuan! We didn't go to any attractions and drove along the coast to Nan'ao Island. We had a meal on the beach halfway, which was not very good. The special kiln chicken was 100 yuan/piece and the taste was not good. We also ordered other seafood and it was not very good! I feel that eating at tourist attractions will be ripped off! I went to Qingao Bay to swim. It was good and there was no charge for entry. The beach was clean and there were lifeguards watching. There was a charge for parking for small cars. Before coming back, I bought a few bags of squid shreds, seaweed and dried shrimps at a roadside shop. The price was 20 to 30 yuan/bag. Is it okay? But the seaweed I bought was not delicious, and the squid shreds were okay.

The speed limit on Nan'ao Bridge is 60, so don't exceed the speed limit. The bridge toll on Nan'ao Bridge is 96 yuan (for entering the island, but not for leaving the island), and parking at scenic spots on the island is 5 yuan per car.

By Time reveals the true nature of a dog |

I can only give it an average, I can understand the bridge toll, the parking fee is five yuan, and it is not a scenic spot. Don't go to those places that wave to eat, they are all places that cheat outsiders. The shrimp costs 80 yuan per catty, and it is not evenly distributed. What kind of shit is the pepper and salt of mantis shrimp? Just eat the skin. Fresh is real. Qing'ao is still okay. The sea view room I stayed in is also cost-effective. I think coming to this place is to see the blue sea. It's a bit cold at night. I don't know why it is foggy. It's a bit humid when I see fog for the first time. The scenery is good, Qing'ao is worth visiting.

Suitable for summer, actually just to play in the water, the coastal highway is good

Even though it was raining heavily, I still wanted to have close contact with the sea as soon as possible.

So we went straight to the beach in the rain.

The Tropic of Cancer passes through the symbol of Nan'ao Island - the Natural Gate.

There were few tourists in the square, and I thought I was the only one with an adventurous spirit. Until I walked onto the beach.

The blue sea, the beige sandy beach, the blue sky and white clouds in my impression are not there.

There was only a gray sky, gray waves and a beach wet by heavy rain.

Are you not going to tread water when it rains? Not happening!

After taking off his shoes and socks, he joined the surfing team without hesitation.

It takes about an hour to drive from the center of Shantou to Nan'ao Island. No tickets are required to enter Nan'ao Island, but you have to pay a highway toll of 90 yuan per car.

Driving around the island is also a visit. There are not many activities on the island because there are so many indigenous people. The only fun thing is to look at the sea. However, Nan'ao Island is very pleasant. In addition to the endless sea view along the way, you can also see herds of cattle and sheep on the way up the mountain. Whether it is visual or olfactory, you have a feeling of being close to nature. It takes about 2 hours to go around the island.

At the end of March, I went to the beach with my boyfriend to visit his friends. It was our first time to go there. We drove by ourselves. When we drove to the Nan'ao Bridge, we could see the blue sea. It was really beautiful. We were very happy along the way and took a lot of beautiful photos. We had seafood at night and stayed in a sea view room. We walked around the beach. In short, everything was very beautiful. The sea was beautiful and clean. The locals were also very nice. We also picked up conchs at the beach and brought them back for collection. I recommend it to everyone. However, my boyfriend said that the sea there is still far inferior to that in Sanya, so I recommend that friends who live nearby can drive there on weekends. The scenery is very good. Friends who are far away can choose where to go to see the sea. Nan'ao is still very good.

The island environment is not bad. The bridge toll is 96. I live in Gold Coast, which is cost-effective. I didn't encounter parking charges. The phenomenon of overcharging customers is very serious. The shrimps the boss said are actually farmed. The price is so expensive that I have never seen it. 7 shrimps cost 60 yuan. I don't recommend going to the Haichao flavor restaurant. I went there after seeing the good reviews on Meituan. They are all scams!!!

The 10-kilometer cross-sea bridge should be very suitable for self-driving.

There are two buses that go around the island. One goes along the coastline, where you can see the sea and the scenery is nice. The other goes on a mountain road... It's best if you don't get carsick, but if you do... it's a very bumpy road... But I don't remember which one is the mountain road = =

There are many scenic spots on the island, and we only chose Songjing and Qingao Bay.

By Confession |

The water of Nan'ao Island shocked me. It was really blue and the sand was a little coarse, but it was acceptable.

We spent the afternoon on the swings by the sea, listening to the waves. There really is no place selling coffee on Nan'ao Island, not even canned coffee. I strongly recommend that coffee lovers bring their own when they go, otherwise life will be very difficult.

Shantou Nan'ao Island (Namoa): It’s okay!

By Yearning for freedom |

If you want to truly see the endless sea, then get up and head to Nan'ao Island. Nan'ao Island is located in the eastern suburbs of Shantou City. This island is also the only island county in Guangdong Province - Nan'ao Island. Since 2015, a Nan'ao Bridge with a span of more than ten kilometers has connected it with the land. From now on, it only takes more than ten minutes to drive to Nan'ao.

This fairy island has a vegetation coverage rate of more than 90%, and is full of green. Although it is only March, it already looks like midsummer. Accompanied by the sunset, I reluctantly left this century-old port. In these short 72 hours, my mind was filled with not only the blue of the sea, but also the vitality that is unique to this place and is at ease.

It should be said that it is still worth a visit, especially the sea, which is impressive! In addition, I would like to advertise today's chartered car driver. He is a very nice person. It costs 550 yuan (including 96 yuan for the bridge toll) from Shantou to Nan'ao Island, and then he took us to every scenic spot. He also stopped to take pictures when we saw beautiful scenery on the way. If you need it, you can send me a private message

In fact, Nan'ao is a county. There are Houzhai, Yun'ao Town, Shen'ao Town, and Qing'ao Bay Management Area. Nan'ao is a county composed of these four places, and each place has its own unique features!

Houzhai: As the county center and the first stop to enter the island, the number of tourists on the island is second only to Qing'ao Bay.

Yun'ao Town: Located at the southern end of Nan'ao, people here mainly go out to sea for salvage.

Shen'ao Town: Located at the northern end of Nan'ao, it is the least developed place on Nan'ao Island. It used to be an ancient county town with simple folk customs. People here are mainly engaged in breeding.

Qing'ao Bay: Located on the easternmost side of the island, it is a great place to watch the sunrise, where tourists are most concentrated, and also an area that the government focuses on developing. It has stretches of sandy beaches and stunning scenery!

After a brief introduction to South Australia, let me introduce myself!

I am a local in Nan'ao, and I work as a tour guide and pick-up driver on the island! I provide pick-up and drop-off services to the airport, high-speed rail, Shantou and surrounding cities, and island tours.

If you come by car, I can also help you make a route map based on your travel time and direction! (Free)

At present, the transportation on the island is still in a very backward period. There is only one way to travel, which is the bus. There are no taxis on the island, and online car-hailing is not popular yet, so travel is very inconvenient.

There are many scenic spots on Nan'ao Island, including Qing'ao Bay, Songjing, Zongbing Mansion, Treasure Island, Nanshan Temple, Yungai Temple, and Huanghuashan Forest Park. You need to stay at least two days to visit all of them. As we have limited time, it is best for us to take a quick tour along the ring road around the island. After we got on the island, we first went to the county town on the right hand side, and then circled the island counterclockwise.

As a local in Chenghai, I often go there to play. It's only 10 kilometers away by car. I mainly go there to relax on weekends. I recommend eating seafood at the sea fish raft. I heard that roadside stalls and scenic spots are more of a rip-off. As locals, we usually go swimming at the beach before entering the island, because there is also a toll of 98 to enter the island. I heard that island residents have to pay half the price. I heard from the comments that some places charge for parking, but I haven't encountered it. Maybe the charges are near the scenic spots. As a local, I don't recommend going to those so-called scenic spots in Nan'ao... Finally, I mainly come here to post photos. If you don't comment, I don't think I can post them... If you need to go to Nan'ao and are not familiar with it, you can send me a private message. Including nearby food... Food on the island and outside the island... Generally, you can eat one or two meals on the island. There are also many foods outside the island, which is suitable for people who drive...

The best way to experience the island is to take a boat to Laichang Pier, then get off and cycle around the island.

Nan'ao can be said to be the Little Bali of Chaoshan. The continuous coastline is especially suitable for self-driving tours, and you can also go out to sea to see dolphins. The Nan'ao Bridge is a scenery that you never get tired of, especially when the sun sets, you will only feel that life is so beautiful. There are not many people on Nan'ao Island, and it is not big. Many people go to the city or other places to work for a living, and there are not many people left. Therefore, basically, barbecues can be set up at night. The villagers pay great attention to protecting the environment of their village and will not litter.

I read the introduction when I came here. It costs 5 yuan to park on the island. It's not a common pit. There is no sign saying that it costs money. When you leave, someone suddenly appears and says that it costs money. I'm totally in no mood! The whole island has no special features and is still under development. It's much worse than Hailing Island in Yangjiang!

Scenery 4, features 1, poor public service. I stopped to eat casually, and this Afang stir-fry restaurant here has no price tag. When I paid the bill, a bowl of white porridge was 10 yuan. I was speechless 🙂

It’s fun to drive around the island by yourself! Go wherever you want to go, stop to take pictures when you see beautiful attractions, it’s really nice! I went there during the Spring Festival, and the bridge fee was waived, which was a good deal!

By ko |

Before entering, you need to walk on a 9-kilometer bridge with a speed limit of 60 kilometers. There was no such bridge before about 2013, and you needed a ferry to get there. I saw it online and decided to come to Nan'ao after it was opened to traffic in 2015. It didn't disappoint me. The sea here is very blue and beautiful! The sea I saw before may be a fake sea! The most beautiful sea in Guangdong! The beach is still very beautiful and clean. Many people go there to bathe and swim in the afternoon! There are many private stalls on the beach, which are tea stalls or convenient for people to change clothes. The people of Chaoshan still love to drink tea! After swimming, you can still have a cup of tea and feel the sea breeze, which is particularly comfortable! This island is from Nan'ao County. It is quite big for us to go around the island. We walk clockwise and play all the way! We live in Qing'ao Bay Blue Sea and Blue Sky Hotel Apartment, which is very convenient. Come here for a few days next summer vacation, but go around August 15th, there will be more seafood. I came in July this time during the sea ban period.

Stayed at the Gold Coast of Qing'ao Bay, the environment was OK. The hotel accommodation price in the off-season on the island was not cheap. The Linjia Seaview Seafood Food Stall recommended by the hotel was very overpriced and the attitude was arrogant. It cost 96 yuan to drive into the island. When I stopped the car temporarily at any scenic spot on the island to take a photo, someone immediately came to collect the parking fee of 5 yuan, which was really unpleasant. The manager said it was required by the local government... No wonder Shantou was the worst developed among the four special economic zones. The environment and natural conditions were originally good, but I lost interest after going there once.

Take bus 161 from the city to the tourist center, then transfer to bus 601 or 602 to Qing'ao Bay. The sea view is open along the way, and the coastline is still very pristine and natural. Especially when you arrive at the sea under the Tropic of Cancer Square in Qing'ao Bay, facing the vast Pacific Ocean in the east, according to the owner of the convenience store, there are only three or four hundred households in the surrounding villages, with a small population and little pollution. It is suitable for walking slowly. The surrounding environment is indeed green mountains and green waters, white sand beaches, and blue-green seas, which is very beautiful!

By Yuansk |

Don't expect to pitch a tent here.

There will be crowds of people because no one is setting up tents except for the merchants.

The coastline is too narrow and the local tourism development is not complete. If you often go to the sea, don't come here, you will be disappointed.

I strongly recommend that you must go to Nan'ao Island if you go to Chaoshan. I like the sea on Nan'ao Island, which is very, very blue and clear. At that time, I felt that I had crossed the long Nan'ao Bridge and came to an island. It was incredible, even if I took a bus to the island, O(∩_∩)O haha~

On a whim, I drove from Shantou to Nan'ao to watch the sunrise at 4 a.m., and then I couldn't get to Qingao Bay in a hurry, so I watched the sunrise at the square.

During the National Day holiday in Ji year, I drove with my wife and her parents to Chaoshan area and came to the beautiful island. We faced the sea, watched the sunrise and sunset, the ebb and flow of the tide, the bright moon hanging high in the sky, and the largest windmill power generation base in Asia. It felt great!

It's a very beautiful island. Although the price is expensive during the May Day holiday, this is the only time I have time to travel there. The scenery is nice. It's an independent island, but there are too many people.
