In fact, it is a whole square, with Shenzhen Library, Shenzhen Book City, Children's Palace, Shenzhen Concert Hall (a popular photo spot), Shenzhen Museum, and Museum of Contemporary Art (a popular photo spot). They are all free, and there are street performances in the square between the book city and the library at night. There are food and entertainment here. It is a walkable distance from Lianhuashan [Kite Square] via a bridge, which is highly recommended.

Shenzhen Futian Central District. Every photo taken in this place has Shenzhen characteristics. Standing in the Civic Center Square, you are surrounded by tall office buildings, including the tallest building in Shenzhen, Ping An Financial Center. There is a wonderful light show at night, and all the buildings will join in. The gorgeous lights make this place more beautiful. It is also a good place to relax during the day. The Shenzhen Museum is in the Civic Center. There will be young people organizing various activities in the square during the day. There are also bands performing here. It is also a good choice to listen to songs quietly on the lawn.

Leaving the Shenzhen Contemporary Art and Urban Planning Museum, the Youth Palace is across from me. Of course, this is not very interesting to me as an adult. The Shenzhen Library not far away is my next destination. Under the scorching sun, I passed a shady place and took a short break. It turned out that this is the Shenzhen Book City. There are many small cultural and creative exhibition areas, of course, there are more commercial stores, and there are naturally many food and beverage areas. I roughly browsed the foreign currency and calligraphy and painting exhibitions of various countries. There was a large exchange meeting at the theme location of the book city. It seemed that some writers and scholars were talking about their own creative history! In the square outside the book city, the band performance also attracted many people to stop and stay!

One of the best places to watch the light show. I didn't see too many when I went there, so I watched the earliest one around 7. It was my first time watching it and I was shocked. "Once you come to Shenzhen, you are a Shenzhener." The most impressive one was the one with the theme of Vibrant City. I have always wanted to watch it again, with another theme, but due to various factors such as time and distance, I have not been able to do so.

Shenzhen Light Show Check-in C position: Civic Center Square

Recommendation index: ★★★★★

Transportation Guide: Exit C of Civic Center Subway Station

I highly recommend this place!!! You can look straight or upwards and enjoy a large view of 43 buildings. You can basically see the whole picture of this light show.

If you have time, you can watch one show at the Lotus Mountain Top Square (from a bird's-eye view, but because of the distance, it is recommended to bring a camera or other professional equipment to take pictures), and the other show at the Civic Center.

Light show time and content:

Friday and Saturday: "Glorious New Era" at 19:00, "Urban Interaction" at 20:00

Legal holidays: "Glorious New Era" at 19:00, "City Interaction" at 20:00, "Vibrant City" at 21:00

The time and content may change with the season, so please check online for details.

The most beautiful thing about Shenzhen Civic Center is the light show, especially during holidays.

It is next to Lianhua Mountain and surrounded by Futian CBD, where most of Shenzhen's skyscrapers are located.

There will be a light show at night, but it is said that there will be no light show this year (2019).

By Aries |

The "light show" starts here on time at 7 o'clock every night. Going to Shenzhen before the Spring Festival coincides with the rehearsal of the Spring Festival Gala. The Civic Center is the city's giant stage, the city is the theater, and Shenzhen people are the best actors.

By Rest, little thief |

I didn't go into the Civic Center, but I could watch the light show in the square, which was quite good.

By Han Yu 79 |

The Shenzhen Civic Center is located on Lianhuashan South Road. It is a complex of many buildings and city squares. The building with its wings spread out is a combination of the city government, the administrative service hall, and the city museum. The Shenzhen branch of the 2019 CCTV Spring Festival Gala was set up here, and the performance surrounded the entire Civic Square.

By Scotte |

First time to the Civic Center. So beautiful!

Civic Square, Shenzhen Museum (New Building), Futian Library, Central Book City, Lianhuashan Park, Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art, it would take half a day to visit all these places.

There were far fewer people watching the light show on Saturday night than in the past, so it was no regret to come late.

Shenzhen Civic Center is at the foot of Lianhua Mountain. It is a large square that you can overlook from the top of Lianhua Mountain.

Shenzhen Civic Center is a comprehensive building that integrates Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress, Shenzhen Museum, Shenzhen Hall, etc. It is the most iconic building in Shenzhen.

The Civic Center is located in Futian District, covering an area of 910,000 square meters. It is located to the north of Lianhua Mountain, where you can overlook the center. At night, there are regular lighting night scenes for you to take photos. The center is symbolized by a roc spreading its wings, and the wavy lines are like "wings of clouds", implying that Shenzhen's development is like "a roc spreading its wings for 90,000 miles".

Transportation advice: Take the subway to Exit E of Civic Center Subway Station.

The center was designed by Lee Timchula Architects of the United States. It has one underground floor and five above-ground floors, with a total construction area of 210,000 square meters, a total length of 435 meters, a maximum width of 145 meters, and a total investment of RMB 2.3 billion.

Shenzhen Civic Center Square light show, the scene is quite stunning. Metro Line 2, 3, 11, Futian Station, Exit 15.

Of course, you can also take Metro Line 1 to Civic Center Station.

You have to go to the top of Lotus Mountain to see the 360-degree view and panoramic laser next time.

There will be performances every day from September 28 to December 31, 2018. The specific arrangement is 3 performances per night on Friday, Saturday and national holidays at 19:30, 20:30 and 21:30; 2 performances per night from Sunday to Thursday at 20:00 and 21:00.

The first chapter of the light show is "City of Mountains and Seas", the second chapter is "Window of Reform", the third chapter is "City of Innovation", and the fourth chapter is "Land of Harmony". At the end of the show, the words "Shenzhen Welcomes You" will be displayed.

I didn't understand a few chapters, but it's very beautiful and worth going!

It's great. It is expected that there will be light shows at night in the future. During the day, you can go to Shenzhen Book City, Shenzhen Library (if you go to the library to study, you have to go there in advance to reserve a seat. There is no other way, there are too many people studying), Shenzhen Concert Hall. As long as the weather is good, there are always two bands singing in the square outside. I prefer a fat lead singer. It's great. There is an overpass in the Civic Square. The Kite Square of Lianhuashan Park is across the way.

I went to the square in the city center hoping to see the light festival, but I didn't see it. However, it was nice to walk along the avenue and see the night view of the surrounding buildings.

According to the recommendation of netizens, I planned to go to Shenzhen Civic Center Square to see the night view. When I arrived in Shenzhen, I happened to see an art exhibition about Shenzhen held by a primary school. A lot of content involved the Civic Center. I thought it should be an iconic place. In fact, street vendors and security guards obviously accounted for the vast majority of people on the scene. My worries were unnecessary. The night view is amazing. The Futian CBD, which has the tallest building, Shenzhen Ping An Financial Tower, is extremely prosperous.

The two towers of the Civic Center are inspired by the dominant colors of the national flag of the People's Republic of China—red and yellow. The blue roof symbolizes the sky. The blue roof is supported by the red and yellow towering pillars of the Civic Center, which means that the people's government is supporting the blue sky. This has infinite meaning and far-reaching impact.

In addition, the giant roof has a prominent appearance, which embodies the implication of Shenzhen spreading its wings and soaring, and also symbolizes the traditional Chinese roof eaves. The long and graceful eaves create a very magnificent momentum. The roof shape has a strong sense of sculpture. Its shape is both hard and soft, open and contracted, and the shape is extremely stretched, which is breathtaking. It not only shows the traditional characteristics of Chinese architectural structure, but also has the modern architectural spirit with a sense of transparency.

There are so many people every weekend, because that area is the center of Shenzhen Center, a large citizen activity square integrating library, concert hall, art gallery, library, museum, book city, and youth palace. Across the road is Lianhuashan Park. There are not many people, but that area is still a very literary and bookish place. There are many street performers in the square at night. I believe you will like it.

As a place where "the roc spreads its wings", Shenzhen has been flying on the crest of reform and opening up, leading the tide of reform and opening up, and creating the image of an international metropolis.

The Civic Center is a comprehensive building that integrates government, the National People's Congress, a museum, a hall and other functions. It is the administrative center of Shenzhen, the main office of the municipal government, and also a place for citizens' entertainment activities. From design to construction, it is full of modern urban concepts and characteristics of the times. It uses the wings of a roc as its logo, and the wavy lines are "like wings hanging from the clouds", implying that the development of Shenzhen is like "a roc spreading its wings for 90,000 miles", with the spirit of hard work and innovation; the curves give people a sense of affinity, strong visual impact, and are rhythmic, implying that various government departments operate in a coordinated and efficient manner, and various industries in Shenzhen are developing in a coordinated and rapid manner.

As an urban planning practitioner, you must explore the textbook classic urban cases. Shenzhen Civic Center is located in Futian District, the central area of Shenzhen, with Lianhua Mountain to the north and the central business district to the south. The large square in front of the building is sparsely populated. Walking up the large steps to the public space under the roof, you can see the lively scene, the elderly practicing Tai Chi, the young people dancing, and the children chasing roller skates. It is true that this is not only the administrative center of Shenzhen, but also a place for citizens to have fun.

Since I had to take the train in the afternoon, I took the subway to the nearby Civic Center after dinner. I felt that this place was similar to the Cultural and Art Center in Xiamen, and there was nothing interesting. The Civic Center has government agencies, Shenzhen Museum, library, Shenzhen Book City, and Lianhuashan Park is further north. Due to time constraints, I just wandered around as a walk after dinner and bought croissants to eat on the train.

Another CBD in the Civic Center

1. But this kind of existence is necessary, especially in rapidly developing cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. There must be such a piece of land to concentrate many convenient measures for citizens to enjoy. However, the scope of citizens who usually enjoy the benefits is often the wealthy citizens living here or the white-collar workers who work here. But these white-collar workers are like making wedding clothes for others.

2. I like this place because it makes me realize a lot. It was dusk that time and I was going back to Guangzhou. I ate noodles and oden at Family Mart alone. I felt very depressed. But when I went out, I heard a very pleasant violin. Guess who was playing it? An old man. I wondered if he didn't eat like me. So I gave him the remaining 8 yuan in my pocket, hoping that my little money could help him.

3. There are many people painting, performing and performing here. In fact, they are not doing it to make a living. I saw many college students of my age who just need a place to perform their dreams. I think this is the real magic of the Civic Center, a stage

You can make your own ice cream in some convenience stores nearby. You can choose how much to put in a cup, and the price is the same. You can also buy snacks such as cart noodles and fish balls in convenience stores. There are also some high-end cafes and restaurants nearby. Although Shenzhen has a large population of immigrants, it is also a city of literati. The Civic Center has distinctive buildings and a wide square during the day, and at night it is a place for communication with a strong artistic atmosphere. The library is open to the public free of charge. The square brings together various literati art, calligraphy and painting, music, clay sculptures... Whether you are a photographer, art appreciator, stroller or food lover, it is a good choice. Opposite is Lianhua Mountain, where you can also go for a stroll. The Civic Center also has many art training centers with a strong atmosphere. On the other side of the building, it is quiet and elegant. It was the starting point of the Shenzhen Marathon in 2014. It is also very pleasant to sit down and look at the night view.
