It is recommended not to walk the south route, but to enter from the north gate, walk to Jade Cave, Cuiyan, Shiyan Rock, Taohuayuan, and then go in from the back door of Baofeng Temple to see Nanhai Guanyin, then walk to Tianhu Lake, and finally walk to Baiyun Cave and exit from the west gate. I went there to see all four famous mountains in Guangdong.
The scenery is average, the supporting services are OK, there are too many such hotels in the mountains.
Maybe I don't know enough about it, anyway, the overall feeling is very average, except for the Nanhai Guanyin statue, there is no highlight. The things in the scenic area are expensive, but the small attractions are so far away and the transportation is inconvenient. It's impossible to walk all the way in one day, and the signboards are randomly pointing, so you have to go around in circles for fear of traffic jams. The so-called story of the scenic spot seems to have been heard in other scenic spots. 5A scenic spot, really disappointed.
I drove there specially from Shenzhen. The ticket was 40 yuan and the electric car was 20 yuan. To be honest, there was nothing special about it. I just went there to climb mountains. There are plenty of such attractions in Shenzhen and they are all free.
Nanhai Guanyin is very magnificent! A reminder: After entering from the entrance of Baiyun Cave in Xiqiao Mountain, on the way to the sightseeing bus, there will be a male driver who will try his best to persuade tourists to take his car (15 yuan/person) and take you to the north gate entrance of Xiqiao Mountain to take the sightseeing bus directly to Nanhai Guanyin. The reason is that even after taking the cable car, you still have to walk a long way to Nanshan Guanyin. But it is recommended that you do not take his car, because from Baiyun Cave to the north gate, you can catch a bus for 2 yuan/person, and take a taxi for more than 10 yuan!!!

Although Xiqiao Mountain is not high, it covers a large area and it is difficult to visit all of it in one day. If you want to visit all the main scenic spots, you usually need to prepare two days.
The best plan is: arrive at the hotel in Xiqiao Town on the first night, climb the mountain early in the morning on the second day, and stay in Yuntao Villa in Biyun Village that night (said to be the only formal hotel on the mountain); continue the rest of the itinerary on the third day.
The second best option is to rush to Xiqiao Mountain from all over the place early in the morning on the first day, get up the mountain as early as possible, and stay at Yuntao Villa in Biyun Village that night; and continue the rest of the journey on the second day.
If you only stay in Xiqiao Town at the foot of the mountain: Arrive at the hotel in Xiqiao Town on the first night, climb the mountain early in the morning on the second day, go down the mountain before closing in the afternoon, stay in the hotel in Xiqiao Town or return directly. Another option is not to stay in Xiqiao at all, rush to Xiqiao Mountain from all over the country early in the morning, climb the mountain as early as possible, go down the mountain before closing in the afternoon, and return.
The above two options can only allow you to visit about half of Xiqiao Mountain, or at most two-thirds, but not the entire mountain.
Personally, there are many motorcycles soliciting passengers at the north gate of Xiqiao Mountain. They are very enthusiastic. Don't pay attention to them. They will say it's too far to go up, and take you to take the cable car from the north gate to the west gate. Not only that, they will take you to buy incense (very expensive, they say they don't sell it inside, but it's actually sold in Guanyin Temple), and then take you to a place called the old temple, worship a so-called Guanyin statue and the God of Wealth, and then collect money for merit. I found out everything later, and I can only blame it on the unfamiliarity of the place. These people actually used gods to deceive people, so shameless! So wicked! Curse them to a bad death💀
Xiqiao Mountain is divided into the South Gate and the North Gate. The South Gate is for self-driving tours up the mountain, and the North Gate is the mass route for mountain climbing. First of all, if you want to climb the mountain, it takes a whole day. Of course, if you take a battery car, it will save time and effort, but since we came to climb the mountain, we didn't take it. We started climbing at 11 o'clock and went down the mountain at 6 pm. We only saw 70% or 80% of the attractions. The Jade Cave was under maintenance and I didn't see it. The Cuiyan didn't have any special features, just a feeling of better greening. The square bamboo is indeed square and round, and you have to touch it to feel it. The Camellia Garden and the Peach Garden came at the wrong time, otherwise the flowers would be very beautiful. Nanhai Guanyin is worth seeing. Even if you don't burn incense and worship Buddha, it is the place where you can see the most tourists. There are only three or five people in other attractions. It was not bad when we arrived at Tianhu Lake. It's just that there are too few signs along the way, it's too easy to get lost, and the attractions are too scattered. It took a lot of time to walk the same way. The 70 yuan ticket is not much cheaper even if you buy it online, so it's not worth it. There are not many places to eat. It was already 2 o'clock when we arrived at the vegetarian restaurant in Guanyin. There was nothing to eat, so we had to fill our stomachs first when we climbed the mountain and passed by the small restaurants in the villages. Otherwise, it would be bad if we didn't find food until 3 o'clock like we did. The tofu pudding was very smooth, although not sweet enough. In general, it was so-so. It is recommended to go there in the blooming season, especially when there are many camellia trees. It must be beautiful when they are in full bloom!

When we went down the mountain, we took the wrong road, walked for a long time, and the road was not easy to walk.
Xiqiao Mountain is about cultural heritage and incense tradition. The forest on the mountain is lush and green, and the old buildings are well maintained. It feels great to climb the mountain.
There are many attractions, and it is recommended to spend more than half a day to visit them, otherwise you will not be able to visit them all.

Legend has it that a man and a woman were truly in love, and then the woman was forced to marry a bully. The woman died to show her determination. The man was heartbroken and cried every day holding the bamboo. Over time, the bamboo was held into a square shape.
Actually, this is a sad story, but after hearing too many similar stories in various scenic spots, I always feel that the storytellers are not sincere, so we who listen to the stories can only listen to them. Moreover, the beginning and process of all these stories are almost exactly the same, and the character settings basically cannot escape the iron triangle of infatuated men and women, cruel parents and landlords. It’s just that the ending of the story depends on the actual needs of each scenic spot, and the male and female protagonists will turn into butterflies, jump into the sea, become fossils, or cry heartbrokenly while holding a bamboo.
The Xiqiao Mountain Eco-friendly Sightseeing Bus is an open design with small wheels, a low center of gravity and a slow speed. It generally runs at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour and can carry 17 people. A local 5A scenic spot, which is not worthy of its name. There is a large Guanyin statue. You can stop by to see it when you pass by. It takes about 5 hours to hike back and forth. The signposts to the scenic area are not clear, so we took a detour.
The foundation stone of Nanhai Guanyin of Xiqiao Mountain was laid on June 19, 1995, and it took three years to build. It was consecrated and opened to the public on February 19, 1998. My daughter’s favorite is vegetarian sausage.
After you get out of Xiqiao Bus Station, you can only take a bus to this mountain. The motorcycles at the entrance are the most deceptive. Don't pay attention to them. They will take you to buy incense. The ticket price for this small mountain is even more expensive than the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. After buying the ticket, just walk all the way up, which takes about an hour. There are too many people and it's smoky. All the ghosts and monsters are fake. There are still two or three representative attractions in Xiqiao Mountain. For example, you can go directly to the Nanhai Guanyin Statue by buying a sightseeing bus ticket, then go to Cuiyan, and then go to Sifangzhu to see the lotus. The lotus in June and July is the most beautiful. Yanyan and Jiulongyan are just rocks and are not representative. Then go back to Baofeng Temple, and then go down to Biyun Cave near the north gate. If you want to take a cable car or something, of course this is not the route. It’s better to experience it yourself.

The main reason was that we went there at a wrong time, in December, winter, it was rainy, and we didn't wear enough clothes. The whole scenic area had no special features except for the many trees. Of course, the Nanhai Guanyin statue was very imposing and solemn. The lion dance performance at the Feihong Martial Arts Hall was great. At least the mountain was too ordinary for us who were used to the majestic Shu Mountain.
