Wai Lingding Island is located in Hengqin, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. Its main peak, Lingding Peak, is about 311.8 meters high. It is the only island in Guangdong where you can see the urban area of Hong Kong. There are cliff carvings on Wai Linglong Island, which are taken from Wen Tianxiang's eternal masterpiece "Crossing Lingdingyang" and written by Chairman Mao Zedong. The scenery was OK. I've been to Goji Island before, so the scenery wasn't too amazing to me. I found that all islands like this were similar, except that there was a mining lake on the island. After checking in, I took a walk around the area. There is a seafood market (people in Guangdong know the prices of seafood, and I think they only buy wholesale), and many places to eat. Ming Kee and the Cantonese restaurant next door are both very good. Clams are only 48 yuan (I calculated the price if I bought them myself + the processing fee, so I didn't bother). There is a cafe. The water and snacks in the small shop are 2-3 yuan more expensive than those outside. Sea stone flower is actually jelly.

The sea water is very beautiful, the beach is very small, the sand is very coarse, not suitable for swimming, basically there are big rocks, there is no beach to dig things, most of the people come to sea fishing, after observing it, it is quite good to fish~

The next day: I got up at 10 o'clock. It was drizzling. I had breakfast (the rice noodle rolls on the island are 15 yuan, fried rice noodles are 20 yuan and porridge, which is actually very expensive). I started hiking and walked all the way to Xiangsiling Hotel. There are two roads. In fact, I hiked with an unknown mind. Most of the roads up the mountain are very steep, and the steepest is almost 50°. I also saw girls wearing high heels, which is scary! ! ! I walked all the way to the top of the mountain. The scenery is endless. There is a small path formed by natural stones on the top of the mountain. People who are a little fat can't pass through. It's fun! ! !

The real adventure is in the second half of the descent, where many corners seem to disappear into the sea. There is also an uninhabited beach full of garbage, and when I climbed down, my ankles were cut by the grass.

Then you don't know how long you will walk on this journey. Many people turned back halfway, but we insisted that there was a road ahead! It was indeed a circular road. After passing the deserted beach, we walked a little further and returned to Xiangsi Ridge Hotel. It took about 4 to 5 hours! I was very satisfied with this day~

On the third day, I bought a ticket for the 16:50 ferry. I think there is no need to play on the third day. I can buy a ticket for the morning ferry, or even the latest ferry the day before.

It's a small island suitable for leisure. I didn't climb Lingding Peak. I had to walk a small path and finally had to return along the way. I hope that fellow travelers who like adventure can help me finish the road I didn't finish and finally reach the top.

I have been to Wai Lingding Island twice, and I liked it even more the second time than the first time, so it is definitely a place worth visiting. Below is my travel plan.

1. Book your round-trip ferry tickets and accommodation on the Xiangzhou Port WeChat official account (it is recommended to book an apartment with a sea view)

2. Arrive around 4pm, put your things away and go swimming at the beach first, then go to the seafood market to buy seafood, and find a shop that looks good to process it (I haven't eaten at many shops, so it's hard to recommend which one is better, but the methods should be similar). After eating, take a walk in the town or on the beach. There is a Yuechao Bookstore in the town. If you are interested, you can go to the open-air KTV to sing, or go to the barbecue nearby.

3. Get up at 7 am the next day, have breakfast and start climbing the mountain. There are two ways to go up the mountain. One is to go directly up the mountain, with a Beidi Temple in the middle (this route takes about an hour to go up the mountain). The other is to go up the mountain along the seaside. This route is relatively longer (about two hours), but the scenery is excellent and highly recommended. Specifically, after passing the Xiangsiling Hotel, you will encounter a fork in the road. If you go straight, you will go up the mountain along the seaside, and if you turn left, you will go up the mountain past the Beidi Temple. Friends who have physical strength must go to the top of the mountain. The higher you go, the better the scenery. There are also two routes to go down the mountain. My choice is to take the seaside route to go up the mountain and the other route to go down the mountain. This way, it takes about three hours to go back and forth.

4. After coming down the mountain around 10 o'clock, you can go back to the apartment to have a rest, or go to the bookstore to read a book (because you have seen very beautiful scenery on the mountain, so you have no interest in going to the beach to see the scenery after coming down). After resting, find a restaurant to eat, and then board the return passenger ship.

A few additional points: This itinerary is a bit tight. If it is your first time here, you can spend more time there.

The island is not very well developed. Although there are street lights, they are not as bright as those in the city.

The feeling on the island is that it is most important to find a good weather. There are relatively few places to visit. The overall price is relatively expensive, but you must learn to bargain.

The main reason for choosing Wai Lingding Island is that there is not much development on the island. In addition to playing at the beach, you can also go hiking and see the scenery from afar.

The first picture below should be the place with the best water quality on this island. It is matched with colored stones, which is a perfect match!! There are fish when you zoom in. However, this place cannot be photographed during high tide.

Prices on the island are a bit high, but that's how it is in tourist areas. Just accept it.

In fact, there is another reason for going to an island where you can climb mountains, which is that I have always wanted to find a scene similar to one of Miyazaki's films, "Ponyo on the Cliff". Wai Lingding can only be said to be somewhat similar, but it is not up to standard.

I went there by boat at Xiangzhou Port. There is a large parking lot at the pier, but it is charged. I remember that it was 5 yuan for half an hour last time and the full-day cap is 60 yuan. The specific amount is subject to the pier. Most of the parking lots have many cars parked. It is recommended that those who travel by car can set off in advance, otherwise they will delay the boarding time if they find a parking space, and they will have to buy the next boat ticket. If you take a boat, I think it is more dizzy to sit in the first class, because the swing on the second floor is even more severe, so I usually choose to sit in the economy class a little later and will not be so seasick. After getting on the island, put the luggage first and then go to the beach for free activities. There are many projects to play, and there is diving, which requires a fee. If you are lucky, there will be a bonfire party at night. If you are tired of playing, you can walk with couples on the road around the waist. The scenery is particularly beautiful. It is worth going to friends who like to watch the sunset. You can climb Lingding Peak. If you are lucky, you can also see the scenery over there in Hong Kong. Looking down from the mountain, the sea is endless and very beautiful. Many friends will shoot a video there. In June 2017, direct flights between Shenzhen and Wai Lingding Island were opened. Departing from Shekou at 10:10 in the morning, it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to reach Wai Lingding Island, and the return journey only takes 1 hour, which is very convenient.

The environment on the island is pretty good, the water is good and clear, you can snorkel, and many people are fishing for sea urchins and conchs. But the sand on the beach where you can swim is too coarse, and there are a lot of broken shells, which can easily scratch your feet.

I took a bus from Guangzhou to Zhuhai Xiangzhou Bus Station, and then took a Didi for about 8 yuan and arrived at Xiangzhou Port in less than five minutes. The bus was also very fast, with five stops. Although I felt dizzy after taking the boat, I still bought a first-class ticket for 145 yuan per person, and an economy class ticket for a round trip of 120 yuan per person. The boat ticket is too expensive, 240 yuan per person for a round trip. Accommodation is also expensive. Even a generally decorated homestay with a sea view costs more than 300-400 yuan, excluding breakfast. You only need to give you the room card. There is also a notice on the wall saying check-out at 11 o'clock. If you stay for more than 1 hour, it will cost 100 yuan per hour, which is better than star-rated hotels (Weizhou Island and Sanya homestays are only 100-300 yuan, and there is a beach outside the door). The island is very small and the food is very expensive. I have been to many islands (domestic and foreign), and the consumption is more expensive than abroad. I didn't have much fun in 2 days and 1 night. I ate, lived, and traveled for 2 days. The seafood in the market is more expensive than in Beihai and Sanya, and the processed seafood is very unpalatable, which wastes ingredients. The seafood is not as fresh as the ones in Beihai and Sanya. A meal cost more than 400 yuan. It was too expensive to eat two servings of fried rice with egg, rice rolls, and a portion of preserved egg and lean meat. The weather was bad when we went there. We climbed the mountain in the afternoon of the first day. When we got to the top of the mountain, there was too much fog and we couldn't see anything. The next morning, there was a strong wind and heavy rain, which caused the ship to temporarily stop sailing. We waited at the dock for several hours and finally returned to the city at 16:00 in the afternoon.

The scenery on the island is nothing special except that it is beautiful for taking photos. The cost is high. I passed by a "Jingyun Hotel" and it looked nice from the outside. I searched and found out it cost more than 1,800 yuan a night. I don't know why such a place without a beach costs so much. Only rich and stupid people come here for vacation.

If you want to go on vacation, you should choose Sanya and stay in a 5-star hotel, at least there is a beach and a swimming pool...

Except for Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, the other experiences in this Zhuhai family tour were not good. The overall consumption was too high, the hotels were expensive, the meals were expensive. It is recommended to visit Macau and Hong Kong. We didn't have time to apply for a pass this time so we didn't go. It's a good place to relax and unwind during weekends. I didn't see the sunrise and sunset this time, but I will go there next time.

If you depart from Xiangzhou Port, some flights will pass through Guishan Island and it will take 75 minutes to reach Wai Lingding Island. If you don't pass through, it will only take a little more than an hour.

In addition, the latest flight from Shenzhen to Wai Lingding has been opened, which is very convenient.

Once you get to the island, you need to find a hotel by yourself. Wai Lingding Island is not big, so just ask people. I stayed in Tinghai Tower.

There are also accommodations on the island. The B&Bs are all similar. The outside is old, but the inside is renovated. The rooms are not big. After all, resources on the island are scarce.

About food. Basically, I buy seafood in the seafood street and then find a store to process the seafood. I remember the price of the three-spot crab is 40, 50, 60 per pound. The shrimp is also 50 for pomfret, 40 for scallops, 15 for clams, and then find a restaurant to process it for 20. The processing fee is about 20 per dish. The restaurant also has stir-fried dishes, and the price is not bad. Rapeseed is 28, meat dishes are about 40 to 60, and white rice is 3 yuan. Basically, the food stalls you see are the ones in the picture. The better environment should be called Shide Le. It is in the square. Just walk inside after getting off the boat.

Regarding the fun, it is best to take a flight at noon or afternoon. If you go there in the morning, the beach is very sunny. Go there at noon and arrive at 3 or 4 o'clock. Then check in and go to the beach to play. It is just the right time for sunset and it is not hot or sunny. Remember to wear slippers. Girls can wear skirts to take beautiful photos. Then play until dark, then you can buy seafood, eat, take a shower, and then go out for a walk or have a midnight snack. There are also three or four KTVs on the island. The cost is about 40 yuan per hour for a small room and 60 or 70 yuan for a medium room.

The next day, I could watch the sunrise early in the morning. It was really beautiful to see the sun rising from the seaside, but I couldn't get up. Then there were three greenways on the island. The green island near the seaside was very beautiful and you could see birds.
