Beibu Gulf Square is located at the intersection of Beibu Gulf Middle Road, Sichuan Road and Changqing Road in the center of Beihai City. Construction began in December 1985. The original square area was 2 hectares. It was selected from six influential architectural planning proposals from across the country, and after evaluation, the design proposal of the Department of Architecture of Tsinghua University won the bid.
Based on the design plan, the city's gardening department organized scientific and technological personnel to design a configuration plan, and in the spring of 1986, plants were planted in the Beibu Gulf Square. According to the plan, tall trees such as longan, kapok, araucaria, and false betel nut were planted in the square.
Beibu Gulf Square is located in the center of Beihai City. The large fountain sculpture on the square is called "Southern Pearl Soul", which was created by the nationally renowned sculptor Ye Yushan. The spherical exhibition hall was originally a huge reservoir, which was rebuilt into an exhibition hall with a unique structure. Next to it is the sunken fountain square, which is used for square cultural evenings on weekends. This square is one of the best in Guangxi.
In the center of the square stands a 15-meter-high giant artificial pearl sculpture "Nanzhu Soul", which is the city symbol of Beihai. Surrounding the square is Beihai's most prosperous commercial district, with large shopping places such as Qidong Mall and Xinli Department Store Commercial Plaza.
The sculpture "Soul of Southern Pearl" uses a pool, pearl shells and human figures as materials to express the themes of the sea, pearls and workers. The base of the sculpture is a fountain, in the middle of which stands a three-sided pearl shell made of reinforced concrete. The pearl shell is open on three sides, with a "big pearl" made of stainless steel inlaid in the middle. There are three large bronze statues in the pool.
Although Beibu Gulf Square is not very big, it is located in the commercial center and is very convenient for dining, entertainment and shopping. It feels good to walk around the square and look at the fountain after dinner.
The sign is surrounded by the sea on three sides, standing in a park square, on the edge of the city center. In the evening, a bunch of aunts and grandmas dance square dance below. There is no need to go there at all.
The central landmark of Beihai City, the city sculpture "Southern Pearl Soul" is magnificent and shows his (her) beauty from three angles! The surrounding business is prosperous and it is a favorite place for foreign tourists.
The symbol of the city center, check in and visit here
Beihai City's transportation center, with many buses passing through here, the city center.
The 45-minute tour with a group is really unnecessary. It is a very tasteless attraction and I don't recommend that those who travel independently go there specially.
It’s not fun at all, it’s just the landmark of Beihai!
Beibu Gulf Square is located at the intersection of Beibu Gulf Middle Road, Sichuan Road and Changqing Road in the center of Beihai City. There is a "Nanzhu Soul" sculpture on the north side.
Beibu Gulf Square is Beihai’s city square, and the Nanzhuhun sculpture in it can also be said to be Beihai’s city sculpture.
I don't understand why it is separated from Beibu Gulf Square and Nanzhu Sculpture as two attractions. In fact, they are the same place.
Beibu Gulf Square was built in December 1985 and is the largest and most prosperous commercial area in Beihai. There are Qidong Shopping Mall, Hualian Department Store, Xinli Shopping Center, etc. The most attractive thing in Beibu Gulf Square is the Beihai City Sculpture "Southern Pearl Soul". It consists of three upright shells holding a black pearl, standing in the middle of the pool. It symbolizes that Beihai is a place rich in pearls. Surrounding the shells are three sculptures: Father of the Sea, Son of the Sea, and Daughter of the Sea, riding on a seahorse, a hawksbill turtle, and a fish respectively. They symbolize the hardworking and brave people of Beihai.
Near Beibu Gulf Square are all kinds of large shopping malls and bustling areas. Beibu Gulf Square is mainly a large statue similar to a pearl, which is the landmark of Beihai. It is also a transportation center, where various buses gather! Travelers from all over the country take photos here!
Guangxi is a place of beautiful scenery, outstanding people and auspicious places. There are countless beautiful scenery! There are numerous tourist cities! There is Guilin, the most beautiful city in the world, and Beihai, a charming coastal city. There are countless natural scenery!
Guilin is a place of great beauty, with strange mountains and beautiful waters. Yangshuo's Ten-mile Art Gallery; Lijiang's Nine Horses Painting Mountain. Jingjiang Wangcheng, Totem Ancient Road; Longji Terraces, a paradise on earth, big banyan trees; Diecai Mountain, Julongtan; Lijiang Bay, Yulong Bridge; Wupai River, Twelve Beaches. Two Rivers and Four Lakes, Jinkeng Terraces, Sun and Moon Twin Towers, Ancient Trees Swallowing Monuments. Duxiu Peak, Meiling Bridge, Jinfoding, Reed Flute Cave; Golden Bamboo, Zhuanghan, Huixian Wetland. Beautiful China, Dreamy Lijiang!
Beihai Silver Beach:
The sky is blue, the sea is green, the sand is soft, and the wind is gentle. When you come to Silver Beach, you can feel the sea breeze, listen to the sound of the waves, face the sunset, the rustling sea, the setting sun is like blood, the seagulls are flying, the microwaves are wrinkled, the reflection of the lone sail, the sea and the sky are one color, forming a beautiful picture. The Chenfeng and the sea charm are intoxicating! Silver Beach is the poem of Beihai, the soul of Beihai, and the symbol of Beihai.
After visiting Silver Beach in Beihai, there is another great place to go:
Weizhou Island:
Weizhou Island has charming scenery. The Catholic bell tower is high, and the crater is full of animals. Watch the sunset from the dripping red screen and the sunrise from the colorful beach. The fishing boats are far away, and the clouds are shining. It is so beautiful! Invite three or two friends, sit on the beach, enjoy the shrimps, crabs, fish, clams, white beer rice, the vast sea and sky, and forget yourself!
After visiting Weizhou, there is another great place to go in Beihai, that is Beihai Old Street!
When traveling to Beihai, you must go to the Old Street. Walk along the century-old street, see the arcade culture, and enjoy the combination of Chinese and Western styles! The dazzling shops, leisurely crowds, and camouflage lights make you feel like you have stepped into a small town in Europe, quiet, pleasant, and fresh. When you arrive at the Old Street, there are two places you must go, one is the <<Katyusha Russian Mall>>, and the other is the <<Xinmatai Clothing City>>. The two malls are facing each other. Both are located in the middle of the Old Street. One specializes in Russian goods and military binoculars, and the other specializes in Southeast Asian style women's skirts, silk scarves, etc. It is very unique and worth a visit, and the price is not expensive!
The most eye-catching symbol of the square is the Nanzhuhun sculpture. The square is located in the busiest area in the center of Beihai City. It is surrounded by many shops, hotels and shopping centers. It is a must-visit place for many tourists.
Beibu Gulf Square is located at the intersection of Beibu Gulf Middle Road, Sichuan Road and Changqing Road in the center of Beihai City. The "Nanzhu Soul" sculpture was built on the north side of the square. The sculpture construction plan was designed by Professor Ye Yushan, a famous sculptor in my country. The entire sculpture covers an area of 600 square meters and consists of three parts: a pool, a sculpture group and a monument. The pool is round, with a diameter of 13.8 meters and can store 150 square meters of water, symbolizing the sea. In the center of the pool stands a 12-meter-high pearl shell-shaped monument. A stainless steel ball with a diameter of 1 meter is held in the three-dimensional shell, symbolizing that the shining pearl is nurtured in the pearl shell.
The night was very lively, the square was crowded with people, a thriving scene
Beibu Gulf Square is located in the city center. The large fountain sculpture on the square is named "Soul of Southern Pearl" and was created by the nationally renowned sculptor Ye Yushan.
The square sculpture "Soul of Southern Pearls" is novel, unique and beautiful in design, reflecting the characteristics of the Pearl City. The 15-meter-high white shell opens on three sides, with a 1.4-meter-diameter stainless steel ball embedded in the middle, symbolizing the world-famous "Hepu Pearls". It is worth a visit.

The "South Pearl Soul" sculpture was built on the north side of the square. The sculpture construction plan was designed by Professor Ye Yushan, a famous Chinese sculptor. The entire sculpture covers an area of 600 square meters and consists of three parts: a pool, a sculpture group, and a stele. They respectively symbolize the sea, the symbol of Beihai - South Pearl, the father of the sea, the daughter of pearls, and the hardworking people of Beihai. The pool is circular, with a diameter of 13.8 meters and can store 150 square meters of water, symbolizing the sea; in the center of the pool stands a 12-meter-high pearl shell-shaped monument, with a stainless steel ball with a diameter of 1 meter in the three-dimensional shell, symbolizing that the glittering pearl is nurtured in the pearl shell. The meaning is South Pearl. There are three groups of unique sculptures around the main monument in the Beibu Gulf Square-South Pearl Soul Sculpture Pool, namely the pearl girl riding on the sea fish, the young fisherman riding on the sea turtle and the fisherman riding on the seahorse. Each group of statues is 5 meters high and cast in alloy copper.
This place is a commercial center and is very lively. Beyond the square is Beihai Old Street.
Beibu Gulf Square is located in the center of Beihai City, with a large traffic and pedestrian flow. The most famous thing here is the shell-shaped square sculpture and the banyan tree. This ancient banyan tree has a history of many years, and even its aerial roots have grown firmly into the soil, as thick as a person's thigh. When you come to Beihai City, Beibu Gulf Square is still worth visiting. It is the symbol of Beihai City, and the transportation and surrounding restaurants are very convenient.
Located in the center of Beihai City, the "Nanzhu Soul" sculpture inside is very impressive. There is a "Buddha Belly Tree" in the southeast corner of the sculpture and a large small-leaf banyan tree in the northwest corner. Don't miss them. Beibu Gulf Square is a bus transfer hub to the surrounding scenic spots (Silver Beach, Beach Park, Qiaogang Beach, Old Street, Guantouling, etc.), so you can stop by when transferring.
Located in the center of Beihai City, the surrounding area is relatively prosperous. The grilled seafood at the night market is very cheap, and it is a place for single men to have a romantic encounter.
In the city center, all you see is a sculpture with strong sunlight.
In the evening, you can stroll along Sichuan Road from the old street. Beibu Gulf Square is the city center of Beihai, surrounded by major shopping malls. There is a night market nearby at night, with motorcycles shuttling back and forth, which is quite chaotic. However, Beibu Gulf Square is still very lively at night, and citizens will come out to enjoy the cool air.
Located in the center of Beihai, it is the best choice for buying clothes of various brands, shopping and eating.
Beibu Gulf Square is located in the center of Beihai City, and is surrounded by shopping malls.
The small city square mainly features the sculpture and the big banyan tree in the middle.
Afterwards we went for a ride in Beibu Gulf, where there were many people releasing Kongming lanterns (but be careful of the urban management, hahahaha). Later in the evening, there was a self-service beach barbecue (there were many people, so you can go and experience it). It was really like a TV series. There was a row of coconut trees next to the road, and next to the coconut trees was the beach and then the sea. We followed Beibu Gulf Avenue to a bridge, stopped to take selfies, and listened to the sound of the sea. From the bridge, you can see a row of lights on the coastline, accompanied by the best hotel and Kongming lanterns. It was super beautiful.
The square itself doesn't have any special features, but the buses going anywhere in Beihai City will pass by the square, so it can be regarded as a transportation hub.
There are many buses that can reach the center of Beihai. There are large shopping malls, supermarkets, and a food street around Beibu Gulf Square. It is about 20-30 minutes' walk from the famous Beihai Old Street, which is the most prosperous place in Beihai. The large shopping malls feel a bit messy, with many brands and individual stores integrated together, and the types of things sold are also a bit complicated. The supermarkets are good, selling a wide range of things, and there are also some Guangxi specialties, and some products will have special offers. The food street is good, the food is delicious, and the price is low. The whole street is full of small shops, and the shop owners are very enthusiastic to introduce their own dishes at the door. I recommend two shops. One is Lemon Workshop, the food is delicious, the drinks are also good, and the last shop on the food street, I forgot the name, the hot and sour noodles inside are super authentic.
1 Beibu Gulf is the center of Beihai City. Large shopping malls, supermarkets, commercial streets, food and snack streets, pharmacies, and hotels are basically gathered in this area. Because Beihai itself is not very big, Beibu Gulf is a commercial center in the full sense. This is the only option for going to Beihai for supplies.
2 The square is not large, but well-greened. In the middle is a sculpture of the Soul of Southern Pearls. There are mostly marble benches under the shade of the trees. If you go there in the afternoon, there are many people enjoying the cool air.
3 In terms of transportation, this should be the most convenient place in Beihai. Most buses pass by here. From here, you can take buses directly to scenic spots such as Yintan, Waisha Island, and Guantouling. It is close to Beihai Old Street, two bus stops away, or you can walk there.
It is actually just a square in the city center! There is a thousand-year-old tree (according to the tour guide), which is very lush!
The busiest central area of Beihai, surrounded by shopping malls and shops, crowded with people. In the center of the square is the sculpture of Nanzhuhun, which is the symbol of Beihai City.
The prices for food in Beibu Gulf Plaza are relatively cheap.
The most famous thing about Beibu Gulf Square is the sculpture of Nanzhuhun. The lawn of the square is wide and flat. Beibu Gulf Square is the city center of Beihai City and also the commercial center. There are many buildings and shopping malls nearby. There are also many places for eating, drinking and having fun. As the city center of Beihai City, Beibu Gulf Square has the most developed transportation. It almost covers the bus routes to most places in Beihai City. It is the gathering place of bus routes. If you really get lost on the bus, you don’t have to worry as long as you can get back to Beibu Gulf Square Station.
The real city center, Beibu Gulf Square. I said, this sculpture looks like an apple core.
The lady boss said that diving is available for 280, but they will ask if you want to take photos, which costs 180, and you can take about 40-60 photos. But my suggestion is that you don't have to dive, because the water may not be so clean, and there are really few things to see. If you want to dive, you should go to Maldives or other seas with more species, as there are still few things.
The center of Beibu Gulf Plaza
This is the center of Beihai City. I think the square is quite unique. There are many small-leaf banyan trees. The largest one has seven or eight saplings growing around it, with many aerial roots that look like beards.
It is Beihai’s iconic square, where there is a large fountain sculpture “Nanzhu Soul”.
Beibu Gulf Square is the landmark square of Beihai. It is the center of Beihai, and all businesses are developed around it. It is also a tourist bus distribution center, where you can take buses 2, 3, 5, etc. There are many hotels and shopping centers around it. Vienna Hotel is just diagonally opposite Beibu Gulf Square. Going north, you can reach Beihai Old Street and Waisha Seafood Island. To the west of Beibu Gulf Square, Baoyi Commercial Center, Agricultural Bank Building, etc. are all nearby. To the east, there are He'an Commercial City and Xinli Department Store Plaza; to the south, there is Offshore Oil Building, etc. The transportation is very convenient, the square is also very large, and there is also a musical fountain. Many people walk around.
There is a huge night market street next to Beibu Gulf, but why are there only seafood stalls from Northeast China? It's full of customers. It's delicious. The oysters are very small, but very cheap. I can't stop eating the snail noodles, I have to have a bowl every day. The slightly spicy one is so spicy that I can only ask for clear soup even though I can eat spicy food...
In a square in the city center, there is a sculpture in the middle.
After eating, of course we can’t waste this great time. For women, the next stop is definitely the bustling streets, where we go shopping. We also take bus No. 3 to Beihai’s famous Beibu Gulf Square, where you can feel the bustle of nightlife. But maybe I’m used to living in Guangzhou, a world of flowers and entertainment, and most of these things in second-tier cities are nothing new to me, so they have no appeal to us. There is a Baoyi Women’s World here, which is similar to the Zhuangyuanfang in Guangzhou. We strolled around in it for more than an hour, but returned empty-handed. It was so depressing. The legendary Baoyi Pedestrian Street is the world of foodies, and it’s full of food. You can go in and take a look.
There are many shops around Beibu Gulf Square, but there is nothing special worth recommending. However, the square is quite large and is a good place for citizens to relax.
It's just a very ordinary city center square with a big sculpture. It's not particularly beautiful, but that's it.
Beibu Gulf Square is a strange landmark. I learned from my friend that it is a clam, which is abundant in Beihai. There is a seafood stall along the way. You can go there to eat. It is not expensive. Five people ate for 127 yuan. Tropical fruits are relatively cheap, like mangosteen, beauty melon, etc.
The square is open to the public free of charge and is very clean. There are large trees that are unique to the south. It is full of green. The weather is very comfortable.
Beibu Gulf Square is the city center of Beihai. The bus routes here are quite complete. It takes 15 minutes to walk to the old street, and the tricycle costs 5 yuan. It takes 25 minutes to get to Yintan by bus, and it takes 25 yuan to get to Beihai International Passenger Terminal (where you can take a boat to Weizhou Island). Beihai has very good transportation. I didn't see any traffic jams during rush hour. I wanted to live near Yintan for the convenience of taking a boat. Now I think it's really wise. It's very convenient to eat, shop and travel here.
Beihai’s famous pig’s trotter rice noodle soup has meat that is so dense that you can only eat the skin and the lean meat underneath.
After putting down the luggage, we took a rest and headed straight to Beibu Gulf Square, which is said to be the center of Beihai. It is very lively and there is a snack street! Because it is close, we walked there. After a walk, we found that it was lively and crowded, but the place was dirty and messy, and there were not many snacks. There was only one barbecue restaurant that was pretty good. We ate two servings of grilled oysters, one serving of mantis shrimp, and one serving of enoki mushrooms. Finally, we ate two bowls of snail noodles at a noodle shop. I felt disappointed with Beihai in an instant and looked forward to landing on the island tomorrow!
The most famous thing about Beibu Gulf Square is its "Southern Pearl Soul". There are many white pigeons in the square, which is a major feature of the square.
I really don't know how this became a tourist attraction. It's just a landmark building at most.
So we visited Beibu Gulf Square...
My first impression of Beihai was quite bad, perhaps because it was close to the city center, with many people and cars. People on motorcycles were often seen running recklessly on the sidewalks. When walking, I had to keep my eyes and ears open and not be distracted at all, for fear of being hit by a car by accident.
The most lively place, there is a 1000-year-old tree in the square, and a place where various tasks are mixed
It is most convenient to stay near here when you come to Beihai. It is very convenient to go to the old street or Silver Beach. The square is quite historical, and many people sit down to chat or take a rest. It is a landmark building and you must pass by it.
It is the center of Beihai, but it is very lively, with many large restaurants. There are all kinds of dishes. We mainly went to a snack street next to the woman.
There are many Guangxi specialty snacks here, including rice noodles, porridge, and wooden barrel rice. The grilled fish there is worth recommending for 35 yuan per serving.
Beibu Gulf Square is a large transit station with a huge flow of people, a bit like Jiedaokou and Guangbutun in Wuhan.
This square is very big, with many intersections.
We ate around Beibu Gulf in the past few days. We didn’t think it was expensive to have a seafood meal at RMB 100 to 200.
But since we discovered this way of eating, we have been regretting what we ate in the past few days!
That is, buy seafood yourself and have others process it. I like to eat horse hoof snails. The roasted ones on the market are 6 yuan each. The horse hoof snails here are 10 yuan for 4 to 5.
Crawling shrimp, 10 yuan, 2~3 jin. They are all big and fat. The small elephant nose snail is very delicious, the meat is very crispy.
We bought about 60 pieces of seafood, all kinds of seafood, 7-8 jin. We took them to the processing shop next to us and spent more than 30. You can communicate with the boss about what flavor you want and how to cook it~~
When we arrived at Beibu Gulf Square, we saw the famous banyan tree in the square. It has hundreds of years of history and is very spectacular.
Beibu Gulf Square is the most prosperous center of Beihai. We also had dinner here and bought food for the island at the supermarket.
There is really nothing special to visit in Beibu Gulf Square.
After a few photos, we left in a hurry.
Passing through the long ancient road,
The dilapidated ruins and the vicissitudes of life make this building unique.
We came to the ruins of the Qing Dynasty Post Office.
Ancient fragments, every time I touch the building that flows with the blood of history,
My heart is always in turmoil,
It seems like the story of yesterday is being replayed before our eyes.
Beibu Gulf Square is basically the center of Beihai. There are many shopping places around it. The Nanzhuhun sculpture there is very famous.
In the Beibu Gulf Square in the center of Beihai City, there is a city sculpture called "Soul of the Southern Pearl", which expresses the themes of the sea, pearls, and workers. The pearls of Beihai are very famous, but I think the characters are more like King Triton and Ariel in the Disney cartoon "The Little Mermaid".
The coconut trees on the square are unique, with lush flowers and trees and unique shapes.
The banyan tree is a rare and unique tree. Its huge crown is like a huge parasol, with tangled roots, luxuriant branches and leaves. Some of its trunks grow close to the ground, while others grow diagonally like a flying dragon breaking through the fog.
After eating, we enjoyed the lanterns in the square. It was so fun. The next morning, I passed by the square and saw many pigeons. A child was feeding them. As soon as I ran over, the pigeons flew away.
We took a ride to the Beibu Gulf Square in the city center. As soon as we entered the square, we saw flocks of pigeons flying around. It turned out that there was an open space in front for feeding pigeons. As long as people stand there, the pigeons will fly towards you enthusiastically. Let's make a scarecrow too!
The domineering Seaview Bridge and Beibu Gulf No. 1, you must take a photo, one for each person, and there are also handsome men and beautiful couples who helped us take a group photo
The magical Beibu Gulf Square seems to be a must-go place for cars, so there are surging crowds of people and hurried passers-by everywhere. When passing by here at night, there is a light show, and there is an ancient banyan tree that has been protected next to the square. There are dancing people and hairdressing stalls. It is the New Year's Day, and there is a singing party held by the local cultural bureau in the square. Although the level is not satisfactory, the atmosphere is quite warm, full of the vitality of a small town.
The first stop was Beibu Gulf Square, where we saw the symbol of Beihai - the South Pearl Soul, standing there, receiving the admiration of the world.
Beibu Gulf Square is the largest and most Beihai-characteristic city square in Beihai. Every corner of the square shows people a subtropical scenery. The square is surrounded by the most prosperous commercial district in Beihai City, and three of the four major shopping centers in Beihai are located nearby. The most eye-catching thing in the square should be the Beihai City Sculpture "Southern Pearl Soul" standing in it. The Southern Pearl Soul sculpture is majestic and magnificent, with profound meanings, and can be regarded as a landmark building in Beihai. The design of the Southern Pearl Soul sculpture was designed by Professor Ye Yushan, the president of Sichuan Fine Arts Academy, who spent three months designing it. He created more than a dozen plans for citizens to discuss and finally determined it. The base of the "Southern Pearl Soul" is a fountain with a diameter of 30 meters, in which stands a three-sided pearl shell made of reinforced concrete. The pearl shell is 15 meters high, and the shell is open on three sides. In the middle is a "big pearl" made of stainless steel with a diameter of 1.4 meters; there are three 3.5-meter-high bronze statues in the pool. Throughout the sculpture, the author tried to use the pool, pearl shells, and people as materials to express a profound theme that symbolizes the sea, pearls, and workers. This sculpture tells people about the long history and charming charm of South Pearls: South Pearls are native to Hepu County under the jurisdiction of Beihai, and the history can be traced back to before the Han Dynasty (some say as early as the Zhou Dynasty). If you search on Baidu, you can read the beautiful folk legend of "Pearls Return to Hepu". If you open a literary dictionary, you will find an idiom entry such as "Pearls Return to Hepu" (also known as "Hepu Pearl Return"). Later, because Beihai was upgraded to a prefecture-level city, the name "Pearl City" gradually became popular.
The first stop was Beibu Gulf Square.
It started to rain. We walked around the square and then returned to the car. I really didn't want to join a tour group. Joining a tour group doesn't give you freedom. You can leave whenever the tour guide says.
What moved me most was the waters of the Beibu Gulf, which were so peaceful that there was not a single ripple... Walking along the Seaview Avenue, I took a leisurely pace and admired the scenery along the way...
It's just a square, and I personally don't think it has much special features.
Located at the intersection of Beibu Gulf Middle Road, Sichuan Road and Changqing Road in the center of Beihai City, it was built in December 1985, with an original area of 2 hectares. In the spring of 1986, the municipal gardening department carried out plant greening in Beibu Gulf Square, and planted longan, kapok, araucaria, false betel nut and other tall trees in the square according to the plan. Beibu Gulf Square consists of five functional areas: the "Southern Pearl Soul" central area, the assembly square area, the central axis area, the cultural square area, and the large lawn area.
