Detian Waterfall

Detian Waterfall is located in Detian Village, Shuolong Town, Daxin County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on the upper reaches of Guichun River at the border between China and Vietnam. The waterfall is majestic and spectacular. It is connected to the adjacent Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam. It is the largest transnational waterfall in Asia and the fourth largest in the world. The annual average water flow is about three times that of Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou. In 2005, the "Most Beautiful Places in China" selection activity hosted by "National Geographic of China" and co-organized by 34 media nationwide, Detian Waterfall was selected as one of the six most beautiful waterfalls in China.

In order to earn the scenic area bus fees, the scenic area does not allow self-driving cars to drive into the scenic area. This section is the S325 provincial road, but they actually block the way!

Even if you come to the scenic area from another direction, you can only park your car at the location marked by the villagers, and then you will be charged a parking fee of 20 yuan.

At this time, you will find that the scenic spot does not sell tickets. The ticket office is at the parking lot at the foot of the mountain 8 kilometers away. . .

But who can resist seeing this place being so beautiful? I have no choice but to accept it!

🏨Accommodation: It is recommended to stay in Daxin County. We stayed in Xindaxin Hotel (three-star). The parent-child room we stayed in had a king-size bed and a single bed for 280. The room was very clean and I personally think it is very cost-effective.

🚌Transportation: Take the B-bike at the hotel entrance (10 yuan/trip), bargain hard, because they want 5 yuan per person, we bargained for 10 yuan per trip (I think it's a bit expensive, but it doesn't matter as long as it's convenient), take the B-bike to Yuanyang Bridge, take a minibus for 20/person in peak season and 15/person in off-season, drive directly to the scenic area entrance, ticket price is 80/person, scenic area bus is 35/person, the minibus we took did not include the scenic area bus, it can be said to be quite cost-effective.

⛰️Scenic area: I think it is still worth a visit. First of all, Guangxi is famous for its mountains and waters. Secondly, this waterfall is at the junction of China and Vietnam. You must take a raft for 30/person so that you can have a panoramic view of the entire scene. It’s interesting that Vietnam is just across the street 🇻🇳. My dad even said hello, hahaha, it’s also interesting and the scenery is pleasant. Although the road is bumpy, the scenery is really good. Although there are many such places in China, you must see them if you have the chance. It’s worth the money.

It is worth a visit, the scenery is beautiful, the waterfall does not look big from a distance, but it is still majestic when you look closely. A river divides the two banks into two countries. The river is not wide, and you can see the Vietnamese villagers on the other side.

Tickets are 80 yuan for adults, 40 yuan for students with ID cards, 40 yuan for seniors with ID cards, and 35 yuan per person for the shuttle bus (you need to buy these tickets). There are bamboo rafts in the scenic area for 30 yuan per person, which will take you on the river and get close to the waterfall, so you can feel the shock of the waterfall vapor up close. Although the waterfall is not big, you can still feel how small and fragile humans are in front of nature! Due to political reasons, the Sino-Vietnamese border trade street was not open, and Vietnamese villagers could only row bamboo rafts or stand by the river to sell cigarettes, yogurt and other goods to Chinese tourists. The most regrettable thing is that the No. 53 boundary marker of the Qing Dynasty was not seen.

Let me talk about the bad experience of this scenic spot. We forgot to open the scenic spot on the morning of the fourth day of the Chinese New Year. We were stuck in traffic until almost 5 pm. As a result, the scenic spot stopped selling tickets at 5:30 pm. Later, we learned that there was no traffic accident in front, but the parking area of the scenic spot was full. However, the scenic spot staff and traffic police did not inform the tourists who were stuck in traffic for a long time. They kept you stuck on the road and moved your car slowly. When you were about to reach the scenic spot, the scenic spot was closed, wasting a lot of tourists for a whole day! ! The management and reception capacity of the scenic spot is extremely poor, which makes a large number of tourists have a very bad experience. As a 5A-level scenic spot, the traffic management capacity and the reception capacity of the scenic spot urgently need to be improved. Since the scenic spot is extremely saturated, the news should be released immediately, instead of letting tourists blindly queue up in traffic jams and waste time.

In general, the scenic area is worth visiting, with its poetic and exotic border style. However, the service should be improved, hoping to give future tourists a better and more perfect experience.

Coming out of the border road is the entrance to Detian, but we didn’t have tickets, so we drove another 10 kilometers to the ticket office, bought tickets, and followed the scenic area tour bus to the ticket gate again.

After entering the scenic area and passing the bamboo raft area, Vietnam is across the river. Various bamboo rafts carrying goods are floating on the river. They paddle from the opposite bank into the scenic area and sell various Vietnamese goods.

This is also the filming location of the hit TV series "The Journey of Flower". The small waterfall next to it is the Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam. Standing on the loop viewing platform, you can take a panoramic view.

Detian Waterfall is a three-level waterfall. You can see it clearly when you walk to the top of the waterfall. The source of Detian Waterfall is Guichun River. Since it was the dry season when we came, the water volume was not large.

As it is the border between China and Vietnam, the boundary monuments are naturally the favorites for tourists to take photos, among which the old boundary monuments from the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty are even more precious. However, the most famous boundary monuments of the Qing Dynasty cannot be photographed.

It was already 4:30 when we arrived at the visitor center. When we bought the ticket, we were told that the ticket price was half-price for ID cards of all autonomous regions in the country. We finished the waterfall very quickly. It took an hour to go up and down the mountain. I think it is worth going. Someone on the way said that the water volume is not very large now, but I think it is still worth seeing the momentum. There is a sign inside saying that there are hundreds of thousands of negative oxygen ions. I want to breathe more. There is a battery car to the lower waterfall, which costs 10 yuan per trip. I don’t think it is necessary. I walked down quickly. There are several viewing points on the road, where you can see the whole picture of the waterfall. The view is very good, but you can’t see it by taking the sightseeing car.

The Detian Transnational Waterfall is located in the upper reaches of the Guichun River on the border between China and Vietnam. It is connected to the Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam and is the largest transnational waterfall in Asia and the second largest in the world. China and Vietnam are separated by the Guichun River. In peacetime, this boundary is not so prominent. Border residents always walk freely on the river, as if the border is just an invisible existence. Today, you can still see Vietnamese people on the other side bringing some small commodities over and selling them on the railings of the scenic plank road; the bamboo rafts under the waterfall are also mixed with Chinese and Vietnamese. However, the economic gap between the two countries is particularly obvious here. The Yanbian Highway in Vietnam is dusty, and the scenic area is a simple iron house, while China has built more than ten kilometers of walking plank roads along the coast.

The scenic area moved the parking lot and the visitor center to a place nearly ten kilometers away from the core waterfall group. Tourists have to take a sightseeing bus to enter, but there are many inns and restaurants along the way, and private cars can still be seen along the way. After getting off the bus, follow the walking plank road to enter, and there will be a better view until you get close to the waterfall group. The three-level waterfall climbs up the steps, passes the No. 836 boundary marker, and arrives at the Vietnam market (a row of shops selling Vietnamese goods opened by Chinese people, the original traditional market seems to have been closed), and then walks into the mountains to reach the No. 835 boundary marker and the Qing Dynasty boundary marker (closed for visits since May 16, 2018, and I don’t know when it will open). Before the Vietnam market, you can take a battery car back to the sightseeing bus boarding point, but these few kilometers of road are the most beautiful sights of Detian Waterfall. You will pass through six viewing platforms, and you must insist on walking it to the end!

When it comes to the border of Guangxi, anyone will think of this transnational waterfall, which is known as the first in Asia and the fourth in the world. As early as the 10th issue of "National Geographic China" in 2005, Detian Waterfall ranked second in the "Most Beautiful Places in China" list. Putting the two words "big waterfall" and "transnational" together is always a highlight. From the data of annual average water flow (50 cubic meters/second), drop (70 meters), width (200 meters) and depth (60 meters), it is enough to show that this is a behemoth on the border. As soon as you enter the gate, you can see the panoramic view of the waterfall from the viewing platform in front. It was after 16:30 at this time, and the sun began to set, just above the waterfall, which means that the waterfalls we took pictures of were all backlit. Fortunately, it was sunset, and the light was not very strong. The waterfall under the backlight, because of the water vapor, has a more ethereal feeling of fairyland. We walked down the steps along the sightseeing route and arrived at the bamboo raft boarding point by the Jie River in 5 minutes. It was not fun to stand on the shore to appreciate the waterfall, so we bought three tickets (30 yuan per person) and got on the bamboo raft. The bamboo raft that was supposed to be for 20 people only had three of us at this time, so it became a chartered boat. The advantage of taking a bamboo raft is that you can enjoy the waterfall up close in the middle of the river. After walking along the river for 10 minutes, we arrived in front of the waterfall. As soon as we started the boat, a bamboo raft was also launched on the other side of the river. When we reached the middle of the river, the bamboo raft approached. It turned out that the Vietnamese on the opposite side came to sell Vietnamese specialties. Unfortunately, we didn't want to buy anything and didn't pay too much attention to them. The advantage of coming late is that there are not many tourists, and there is no crowd of people, which is very suitable for taking pictures. In the Guichun River, you can feel the spectacular momentum of Detian Waterfall up close, and you can also see the Vietnamese tourists on the other side playing there.

When we arrived at the scenic spot at about 9:30, there were not many people entering the parking lot and the scenic spot, and it was relatively smooth. But when we left at about 1 o'clock, we saw that the traffic entering the scenic spot was blocked for several kilometers, so it is wise to enter the scenic spot early at any time.

The planning of the scenic area is quite mature, there are not many people, and it is quite comfortable to visit. The waterfall is clear and beautiful. Compared with the Huangguoshu Waterfall, it has a kind of delicate beauty.

The scenic area is not big. You take a car to get up there, walk over and take a boat to get close to the waterfall, and then walk all the way up. There are two viewing platforms for the waterfall. Then you will reach the souvenir street. If you keep walking along the exit, there are also several viewing platforms where you can see the whole picture of the waterfall. The weather is very good and the scenery is first-class.

After leaving the Mingshi Scenic Area, drive more than 30 kilometers to the Detian Waterfall. Fortunately, the young couple I met yesterday reminded me not to park at the visitor center and drove directly to the entrance, which saved both time and money. However, if there are many tourists, parking spaces may be tight.



Detian Waterfall straddles China and Vietnam. It is the largest transnational waterfall in Asia and the second largest in the world. It originates from the Guichun River in Jingxi County, Guangxi. Its courage, its momentum, its style, are soul-stirring and heart-shaking. Legend has it that when the Qing government set up the boundary marker, the road was very difficult to travel, and several soldiers were tired and exhausted carrying the boundary marker, so they buried it on the spot. This burial gave a large area of Chinese land to Vietnam. This is the No. 53 boundary marker. Two hours is enough, but standing here you can clearly see Vietnam on the opposite side. I heard that many of the people selling things on the roadside here are Vietnamese.

........This time when I arrived at the entrance of the waterfall viewing platform, I found that it was not possible to walk up the mountain for free. I had to buy a ticket of 75 yuan per person. I asked the ticket seller to go to the No. 1 waterfall viewing platform on the east side to hike up the mountain (I am not sure if there is a free hiking step road at the entrance of the waterfall viewing platform). The distance between the No. 1 waterfall viewing platform and the No. 5 waterfall viewing platform is very close. The No. 6 waterfall viewing platform (the panoramic waterfall viewing platform) is on the southeast side of the scenic area exit. If you are not careful, you will miss this waterfall viewing platform. The distance from the No. 1 waterfall viewing platform to the Sky Ring is about 900 meters, and the vertical climb is about 150 meters. It takes about 1-1.5 hours for medium-stamina tourists to go back and forth (you can hike up the mountain and take the 45 yuan per person slide down the mountain).

........Detian Waterfall is an old 5A scenic spot. There are many inns in Detian Village and Shuolong Town to provide accommodation and meals. Tourists traveling by public transportation: 1. Take the Detian Cross-border Waterfall Tourist Direct Bus at Fengling Bus Station in Daxin County (20/person in peak season, 15/person in off-season); 2. There are tourist direct buses to Detian Waterfall from Chongzuo City Tourism Distribution Center and Chongzuo International Passenger Transport Center (Chongzuo Bus Station) next to Chongzuo South Station. The round-trip fare is 80 yuan/person and the one-way trip takes about 2 hours; 3. There are two tourist direct buses to the scenic spot every day from Nanning Langdong Bus Station, and the journey takes about 3.5 hours.

It was beyond our expectations. Although the waterfall was not spectacular, the Sky Ring, the flying magic carpet and the high-altitude slide in the scenic area surprised us greatly.

Detian Waterfall is the most important destination of my trip.

In Detian, Guichun River is the border river between China and Vietnam. The originally calm river water is divided into two by a small island, and then rushes down the cliff, forming Ban Gioc Waterfall and Detian Waterfall in Vietnam. It is said that when the water level rises, the two waterfalls merge into one. Detian Waterfall is 200 meters wide and 70 meters high. It falls in three sections, forming a three-level waterfall. Here, water splashes everywhere, silver silk dances, and the sound can be heard for miles, which is magnificent!

Vietnam's Ban Gioc Waterfall is much less impressive. Cruise ships from both countries can travel in the middle of the river, but can only visit their own waterfalls. The scenic area on the other side is relatively simple, with fewer scale and tourists, but they have horseback riding projects.

The Detian Waterfall Scenic Area is not large: a viewing avenue consisting of multiple viewing platforms leads to Vietnam Street; there are many viewing platforms near the river (there are first, second and third-level viewing platforms for close viewing of the waterfall) and a cruise ship pier; there is a high-altitude plank road on the mountain, where you can take a magic carpet up and slide down, and overlook the Vietnamese village opposite.

Detian Waterfall, when I first saw it, I felt like I had been there before. In fact, this is the impression left on me by the Guan Waterfall in Luang Prabang, Laos. The two waterfalls are very similar in content and form, and the minerals contained in the water are similar, but the Detian Waterfall is larger. The picture shows the Detian Waterfall in China. The part of the waterfall in Vietnam is called Banyogh Waterfall, which is much smaller. A green river makes this place full of agility and makes people feel soft and peaceful. The river is the boundary. It is about 50 meters away from the No. 53 boundary marker on the China-Vietnam border.

Holding hands with you and growing old together, this is the romantic landscape and pastoral scenery described in "The Journey of Flower". The waves of Guichun River suddenly burst out with power after being silent for a long time. The stubborn and dangling river water tumbled down from the cliffs over 70 meters high, hitting the layers of rocks, the torrents were twists and turns, the water splashed, and the mist was hazy. The sound of the rushing water shook the river valley, and it rushed thousands of miles, dividing the border between China and Vietnam. Millions of years of impact inadvertently formed a fascinating miracle: the world's fourth and Asia's first transnational waterfall.

Let me tell you about the shops and restaurants along the street. There are some pitfalls. You can get discounts if you buy tickets online in advance for attractions.

Tickets are 80 yuan, sightseeing bus is 35 yuan, and bamboo raft is 30 yuan; reference time is 2.5 hours.

It is recommended that you take a bamboo raft first, then go ashore and walk along the road signs. You must walk to the exit. You will pass many viewing platforms. If you take a sightseeing bus, it will not stop. It should be noted that the flood season is from June to August, but it still feels dry in late May. It's so cold! The Qing Dynasty boundary monument has been closed and cannot be visited. It's more than a little regrettable.

Kind tips

Tickets purchased on site are 115 yuan per ticket (including the sightseeing bus), and tickets purchased online are 75 yuan, which also includes the sightseeing bus. However, tickets must be purchased one day in advance or before 7:50 am on the day of purchase. This way you can save 80 yuan and buy several burgers.

Overall it is good, and the A scenic spot is more formal. Although there are many tourists, they are arranged in an orderly manner.

During the dry season, water will be released from 12 noon to 1 pm. It looks good when the water volume is large.

It's very shocking. You can take a bamboo raft to visit it up close.

Detian Waterfall is connected to the neighboring Banyo Waterfall in Vietnam and is the first cross-border waterfall in Asia.

Beautiful southern scenery, the waterfall is very beautiful, and there is a cross-border concept. The water volume is slightly insufficient. I hope to come back to see it during the flood season.

Durian is the best: durian is strong and sweet, and jackfruit is the sourest, but it tastes good.

In the scenic area, the more recommended tourist route is to take a bamboo raft first and then walk back to the exit. The bamboo raft can be used to photograph the waterfall from the water. There are several viewing platforms on the way to the exit, where you can take pictures of very beautiful scenery. Among them, viewing platforms 4 and 5 have the best scenery. Taking the electric car will take you directly to the exit without stopping at these viewing platforms.

You can view the waterfall from multiple angles by looking up from a bamboo raft or looking down from various observation decks. When you view the waterfall from different angles, the degree of obstruction by the mountains, rivers and trees is different. You will not feel bored at all after walking through a scenic area. You will only feel that the scenery at this moment is more beautiful than before.

There is also the China-Vietnam Boundary Monument No. 836 in the scenic area. There was also a Vietnamese market, but it was closed along with the Boundary Monument No. 835 (formerly Boundary Monument No. 53).

I have seen many waterfalls, but I am still shocked and amazed by Detian. First of all, the scenic spot management is very meticulous, with the neatness and standards of a 5A scenic spot. To enter the scenic spot, you need to take a unified shuttle bus directly to the entrance of the scenic spot. We chose a bamboo raft to the bottom of the waterfall and then toured according to the route. Different angles have their own merits.

Although the weather was gloomy when we went there, the scenery of the waterfall was still very beautiful. When we entered the waterfall at 10 o'clock, the water volume was not large and it looked ordinary. When we walked back at 11 o'clock, the water volume of the waterfall suddenly increased, showing its grandeur.

I am a college student in Nanning, Guangxi. I took advantage of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to visit Detian Waterfall with my girlfriend. Here are some of our experiences, I hope they are useful to you.

Detian Transnational Waterfall is located in Detian Village, Shuolong Town, Daxin County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, bordering Vietnam. There are basically two ways to get to Detian from the outside world:

1. Take a bus directly from Nanning Langdong Bus Station to the Detian Waterfall Ticket Office. The journey takes more than three hours. Go in the morning and return in the evening. Please note that you must return to the ticket office before 5 pm, because they will leave before 5 pm, and there will be no cars after 5 pm.

Second, you can go to Daxin County first, take the train to Chongzuo, and then take the bus to Daxin County (there is really no train in Daxin County). After that, you can take a local tricycle to the roadside to wait for the bus to Detian Waterfall (you wait on the roadside, without going to the bus station). The advantage of taking this bus is that you can save 40 yuan for buying sightseeing tickets (80 yuan for tickets, 40 yuan for student tickets, and 40 yuan for sightseeing tickets). Don't say you don't want to buy this 40 yuan ticket and walk in. The ticket office is 10 kilometers away from the scenic area of Detian Waterfall. If you take the bus, it can wait for you to buy the ticket and then continue to take you into the scenic area. You have to act quickly because it won't wait for you too long. If the bus leaves and you haven't got on the bus, you will be embarrassed. The ticket office sells postcards. Tourists who want to buy them can buy them as soon as possible. People get off work before five o'clock and can't buy them.

Finally, 1. If you want to take the bus to Daxin again when you return, please get on the bus as soon as possible. Don't trust the time they tell you when the bus will leave. If you try to get on the bus on time, they will leave when they are full and will not wait for you.

2. If you want to take the bus directly to Nanning Langdong Bus Station from the ticket office, please arrive at the boarding point before 5:00. The bus will leave before 5:00.

3. Pay attention, pay attention, this is important! If you haven't gotten on the bus by 5:00, congratulations, you've won the prize. At this time, there are no passenger buses in Detian Village. You can choose to stay in Detian Village for one night and take the bus out tomorrow morning. You can also look for a private car and give them a little more money to take you to Daxin. If you hurry, you can get a bus from Daxin to Nanning (the last bus from Daxin to Nanning is around 8:00 p.m.).

When I went to Detian Waterfall, "The Journey of Flower" had not yet been released.

It was winter, and the water volume was not large. This waterfall, known as the first in Asia, seemed a little gentle, and the Vietnamese who set up stalls here seemed a little docile. It is hard to imagine the glory of both sides of the border. The Vietnamese on the other side beat the Americans away, while the Guangxi people on this side defeated the French in Zhennan Pass and made the Japanese cry in Taierzhuang, not to mention the birthplace of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.

After traveling to so many places, I have always found it difficult to understand the natural talents of Guangxi. The people here are not as passionate as those in Hunan who love spicy food, nor as tall and strong as those in Shandong. The only explanation I can think of is probably "If I can eat 300 lychees a day, I would be willing to live in Lingnan forever". Lychees cause heaty food, while the Guangdong people next door choose to make soup to bring peace and wealth, while the people of Guangxi choose to be brave and tough, which is uniquely endowed.

In my eyes, Guangxi is probably the Texas of China. Texas is famous all over the world because of the phrase "Don't mess with Texas", and the internationalized Guangxi should also put up a sign in English saying "Don't steal banana in Guangxi".

The tall and spacious ticket hall is as clean as a mirror and majestic. It seems that Detian Waterfall will soon be promoted to a national 5A scenic spot.

The Detian Waterfall has a huge force, with a torrent plunging down, roaring and surging, and misty water splashing and lingering around, which is spectacular and looks like a fairy tale wonderland.

After about fifteen minutes, the bamboo raft brought us back to the dock. After getting off the boat, we walked along the plank road upstream to the waterfall.

As it is closer to Detian Waterfall, the surging river water roars down the mountain, making an amazing roar, just like a thousand horses galloping. The setting sun shines through the woods, the mist is flying, and the light and phantom are intoxicating.

Climb up the steps and watch the waterfalls as you walk. You can enjoy the third-level waterfall from the third-level viewing platform, the second-level waterfall from the second-level viewing platform, and the first-level waterfall from the first-level viewing platform. You can take pictures in the splashing mist of the waterfalls. It is very interesting. You can talk and laugh all the way and feel relaxed and happy.

The Detian Waterfall has plenty of water in summer, which is the best time to enjoy the roaring waterfall like thousands of horses galloping.

The surrounding vegetation is lush, and under the towering ancient trees are lush flowers and grasses. The mighty Guichun River pours out from the top of the cliff, rushing majestically and unstoppably! The scenery is picturesque, the sunset is poetic, the light veil is floating, and the water waves are rippling~~

The Detian Waterfall is a magnificent sight to behold from afar; you can also take a bamboo raft to the bottom of the waterfall, or go upstream to experience the majestic power of the Detian Waterfall up close. The turbulent water rushes down, and the shock to your eyes and ears is thrilling.

The river water tumbles down from the high cliffs, crashing against layers of rocks, splashing into winding rapids, and spreading out a misty mist. From a distance, it looks like a skein of silk hanging from the sky, and from a close distance, it looks like flying pearls splashing on jade. When the sun shines on it, it is colorful and shakes the river valley. When the water level is stable, it roars like a roaring lion, and then suddenly becomes quiet, like a piece of jade hidden in the mountains.

Downstream of Detian Waterfall, the Guichun River flows through here, and the gradually slowing water level forms a shallow beach. The river flows through different stone steps, sometimes fast and sometimes slow, stirring up layers of milky white water, like a crystal bead curtain across the river surface.

I went to Detian Waterfall during the National Day this year. The water volume was decent and it was worth a visit. After all, it is a cross-border waterfall and you can see the customs and people of the Vietnamese border up close. However, the No. 53 boundary marker and the Vietnamese market are temporarily closed. Tourists cannot take photos at the No. 53 boundary marker or go shopping at the market in Vietnam, which is a bit regrettable. In addition, compared with ten years ago, the tourist center (ticket office) has moved dozens of kilometers away from the entrance of the scenic spot, and you must buy a 30-yuan bus ticket to enter.

It is beautiful, worth traveling, and can make people feel relaxed and happy.

I went there during the National Day holiday. The road to the scenic spot was jammed for almost an hour. The road to the scenic spot is a two-way two-lane road. Everyone was queuing, but there were a few people who cut in line, which was the main reason for the traffic jam. The traffic police have been maintaining traffic order, but there are still many unethical drivers. I won't say much about the scenery. Look at the pictures for yourself. It is absolutely beautiful. You must take a bamboo raft to get close to the waterfall. The mist flies up and hits your body. It is simply amazing in the hot weather. My 4-year-old daughter was not satisfied with the ride, so I had to buy another ticket to accompany her. The feature is that Vietnamese vendors on the opposite side of the river will run to the shore to sell Vietnamese goods. I personally feel that it is very bad. It still needs to be regulated. There is no border that can come and go. Public services are management that needs to be strengthened. Our car cannot enter the scenic area, so we can only take a bus outside. But after entering the scenic area, there are a lot of private cars inside. I don’t know what means they used to get in. I heard that you can drive in if you have booked a hotel for several years. There is also food and so on. There is only one fast food point in the tourist center, and there is not much choice.

Last year, I wanted to visit Detian Waterfall when I came to Guangxi, but unfortunately I didn't make it. This year's National Day finally came. I went to the self-service ticket machine at the tourist center and bought the scenic bus ticket for a total of 115 yuan per person. Children under 1.2 meters are free of charge. The center is in good order, simple and clear. After buying the ticket, just walk a few steps forward to the bus station. The time is just right. There are buses going directly after the ticket check. It's not like waiting for half an hour as others say on the Internet. The seats are just one seat per person and there are some small empty seats. Take the bus to the entrance of the waterfall. You can hear the sound of the waterfall soon. On the way there, there are also many Vietnamese selling goods outside the fence. The whole journey is divided into 3-level viewing platforms and 2-level viewing platforms. There are best photo locations, and you can watch the waterfall from different angles. There is a bamboo raft center on the way. You can buy a ticket for 30 yuan per person and take a bamboo raft to watch the Vietnamese Banyo Waterfall on the left and the Detian Waterfall on the right up close. Children under 1.2 meters do not need tickets. Put on life jackets and set off. There are also Vietnamese merchants paddling bamboo rafts against our tour The guest bamboo rafts sell goods. As we get closer to Detian Waterfall, water splashes over us. The water is quite cool. The bamboo raft ride takes about 15 minutes. I personally think it is good. If we continue walking, there is a Vietnamese market with many shops. We bought rock honey and Saigon coffee, which are quite good. The only regret is that the No. 53 boundary marker is still closed and has not been opened yet. The bus back is also about 15 minutes in the direction of the sign. It is easy to walk on the flat road, so there is no need to take a battery car at your own expense. The whole tour takes about 2 hours. The parking fee is 10 yuan per car. (Warm reminder, it is best to book a room online in advance during holidays, otherwise it will be fully booked when you get there. I found a single room at Shuolong Holiday Hotel for 480 yuan because I arrived too late the night before. The cost performance is really bad. The facilities are old and it feels like a cheap hotel outside for dozens of yuan)

The mighty Guichun River rushes from the north. The Putang Island with three layers of high cliffs stands tall and blocks the river flow. The river water tumbles down from the cliff which is more than 50 meters high and hits the hard rocks, splashing water and creating a hazy mist. From a distance, it looks like white silk hanging from the sky; from a close distance, it looks like flying pearls and splashing jade. Refracted by the sunlight, it is colorful. The sound of the rushing water shakes the river valley, and the momentum is very majestic.

Detian Waterfall is connected with Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam, just like a pair of close sisters, standing hand in hand. Through the misty water, you can see the beauty on the other side of the water, with a jade belt around her waist, her hair hanging down to Chaohu Lake, her body leaning against the towering peaks and rocks, her back against the terraced fields and ancient trees on the mountain, smiling and looking at her, her eyes conveying affection.

This is a romantic and elegant place like a poem, with scenery at every step and love everywhere. When you are there, you feel like you are in a painting, with no distractions and no dust. I just want to find a place with green grass and gurgling green streams, build a thatched house, plant a few peach trees, cultivate a few acres of land, watch the flowers blooming on the branches, and imitate the elegance of the talented scholars in the Tang Dynasty, hold your hand, and forge a relationship of wine, flowers and branches.

Due to the large amount of water, we could have taken a bamboo raft to view the waterfall up close, but the Chinese side stopped. There were vendors in the river selling Vietnamese souvenirs and specialties. They were Vietnamese and could speak Chinese. They would paddle their bamboo rafts over from the other side of the river every morning to do business with the Chinese. This kind of transaction was really interesting. The waterfalls on the Vietnamese side are not like the ones on the Chinese side, which are fenced off and become paid scenic spots. Over there, it's like a waterfall scattered in the fields. People who are interested in living nearby can come and see it, or they can take it as a spring outing. Therefore, there are no fences on the Vietnamese side, and you can walk around the river freely to get closer to nature. We have a cordon here for the sake of everyone's safety. The Detian Waterfall Scenic Area is not large, and 2 hours is enough time to slowly watch and take pictures here. There is no sunshade on the viewing platform, so it is very sunny,

With Vietnam on the left hand and China on the right hand, as the second largest waterfall across, I personally feel that she is no different from any other waterfall in the country. She has no inscriptions by celebrities, but only primitive beauty, the kind that is hidden in the boudoir and unknown to the world.

It is not enough to just stand on the shore to see the waterfall. You can only truly appreciate its breath by taking a small boat and feeling its abundant water vapor under the waterfall. During the flood season, Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam will present a graceful side, while Detian Waterfall will be as majestic as a rainbow, as if they are a perfect match, complementing each other.

On the Guichun River, Vietnamese girls will come to sell small items, such as cigarettes, coffee and perfume.

There are still boundary markers within China, but since May this year, the 835 boundary marker in Vietnam cannot be approached. The border has been closed and the Vietnamese market cannot be entered, which is a bit regrettable.

Vietnamese yogurt is pretty good and can quench your thirst after shopping. There are many flavors, including durian flavor. Four cans cost ten yuan, which is very affordable.

There is a scenic shuttle bus to the waterfall entrance. It takes about 10 minutes. There are not many steps to see the waterfall. Go to the bamboo raft to buy a boat ticket to watch the waterfall!

The bamboo raft at the waterfall is 30 yuan per person! Go around the waterfall! I personally don’t think it’s necessary to take the bamboo raft! There are viewing platforms everywhere in the scenic area where you can take pictures of the waterfall! It’s spectacular.

We sat on a small bamboo raft. The closer we got to the waterfall, the more we could feel the magic and charm of nature, and how insignificant we were. We closed our eyes quietly, thinking nothing, looking nothing, just listening to the sound of water, letting the splashing water droplets fall gently on our bodies, and forgetting ourselves. This moment was so wonderful, so wonderful that it was beyond words.

In the supermarket at the exit of the scenic area! There are many Chinese and Vietnamese specialties! Jungao rubber slippers and various coffees and cashews! There is also a coffee shop behind the supermarket in the scenic area, and the environment is good!

Very spectacular cross-border waterfalls. In summer, when the water level is high, Detian Waterfall and Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam are connected together. It is beautiful.

I went there in September 2018. The water was very big, there were not many people, and the waterfall was magnificent. On the way back, there were viewing platforms 1-6, where you can watch the waterfall from different angles.

Tickets: 120 yuan/person (including sightseeing bus fare), bamboo raft in the scenic area: 20 yuan/person, the stubborn and dangling river water tumbles down from a cliff over 60 meters high, hitting layers of rocks, twisting and turning, splashing water, misty water, looking like silk hanging from the sky from a distance, and like flying pearls and splashing jade from a close distance, very spectacular! You can watch the waterfall up close by sitting on a bamboo raft. The weather was not good at that time and it rained heavily. However, the mountains became greener after being washed by the rain. The waterfall in front of us looked like children taking a refreshing bath in the summer, and they were full of energy and singing happily. It was so beautiful!

PS: When you first arrive in Detian, you may feel regretful that you cannot take beautiful panoramic photos. Of course, it doesn’t matter. The best photo spot of Detian Waterfall is at the exit of the scenic area, where you can have a panoramic view of the waterfall.

After getting off the shuttle bus, you can walk along the plank road to see the waterfall from afar. Vietnamese vendors row boats on the shore to sell cigarettes, coffee, etc. The order of visiting Detian Waterfall is to walk along the plank road to the bottom of the waterfall, then look up from one side of the waterfall to overlook the waterfall, and walk to the market on the Vietnamese side to buy some local specialties in the market.

Visitors to the Guichun River below the waterfall can choose to take a cruise to get close to the waterfall and experience the majesty of the waterfall up close.

Slowly going up along one side of the waterfall, you can appreciate the beauty of Detian Waterfall from different angles.

If you want to take a bus down the mountain, the bus stop is right outside the market, where you can queue up and wait for the bus. However, if you have enough energy, it is recommended that you do not take a bus down the mountain. You can go down the plank road, passing 4-5 viewing platforms along the way. It is a great location to take photos of Detian Waterfall from a high place. Don't miss it. It will not take long to walk down the mountain. Even if you walk slowly and take photos slowly, 50 minutes is enough to get down the mountain. Normally, it will take 30 minutes to get down the mountain.

The tour of the entire scenic area takes about 2.5 hours

Maybe it was the right season, the water was abundant and spectacular. We kept taking pictures and playing in front of the waterfall. Later, the staff of the scenic area kindly reminded us that the viewing platform in front was beautiful!

The air is fresh, the temperature is suitable, and the scenery is so beautiful that it cannot be reproduced by a mobile phone. I am suddenly at a loss for words and don’t know how to describe it. It is worthy of being the first in Asia and the fourth largest transnational waterfall in the world. The abundant water flow makes it surrounded by mist, and the afterglow of the sunset makes this place like a fairyland. Let me calm down a little!

If you visit Guangxi, it is almost like you have not been to Guangxi if you do not visit Detian Waterfall. To enter the scenic area, you need to take a 5-6 km scenic tour bus, which basically goes along a narrow river that is as clear as a gem. The other side of the river is Vietnam. The two sides of the river have not been modified by any man, which makes them more naturally beautiful.

The tour bus stopped when we saw the waterfall and walked to see it. Because it was cloudy after rain, the sky was like a gray cloth hanging in the sky, and the water mist in the air made visibility extremely low. We decided to take a sightseeing raft to see the waterfall up close. The bamboo raft slowly sailed towards the waterfall, and several Vietnamese boats approached to sell us Vietnamese specialties such as cigarettes and coffee. The waterfall spans China and Vietnam. After millions of years of creation by nature, it has a width of 200 meters, a height difference of 70 meters, and a depth of more than 60 meters. The waterfall is majestic and rushes towards you like flying beads and splashing jade. The rumbling sound of water shakes the river valley. People in it are like swimming in a painting, with scenery at every step and affection everywhere.

It was getting dark when we got off the bamboo raft. We climbed up the steps along the river valley, got close to the water to experience the intensity and tenderness of the three-level waterfall, relaxed our body and mind, accepted the baptism of rain and fog, washed away the dust in our soul, and seemed to enter a state of oblivion of both ourselves and the world.

When I first heard about the cross-border waterfall, I felt that the name was very domineering, and I had been thinking about it in my heart. This time I finally had the opportunity to see its style. The appearance and momentum in my heart were all shocked by the scene in front of me the moment I saw it. After parking the car in the parking lot of Detian Waterfall, take the shuttle bus from the main entrance of the scenic area to the trail of Detian Waterfall. On the left side of the trail is the Guichun Boundary River. The entire river is jointly owned by China and Vietnam, so some Vietnamese villagers started small businesses, selling Vietnamese specialties, cigarettes, dried mangoes, souvenirs, etc. on the shore. If you really like something, remember to bargain. How much you can bargain depends on your ability. It is a magnificent beauty to watch Detian Waterfall from a distance. You can also take a bamboo raft to ripple in the river, go upstream, and get close to the majestic momentum of Detian Waterfall.

It's pretty good, you can swim in 2 hours. It's recommended to bring an umbrella, there are more splashes, no need to bring an extra set of clothes.

If you are coming from Jingxi, there is a bus at the bus station, one bus a day.

We arrived at the scenic spot after 5pm, which was just the right time. It was not too hot and there were not many tourists. We felt that we had reserved the place. We heard the sound before we saw it, and it felt very imposing. The small waterfall on the left is from Vietnam, called Ban Gioc Falls; the big one on the right is from China. It seems that the staff have gone off work, otherwise, it would be a wonderful experience to take a bamboo raft for a few minutes. Walk along the Guichun River to the edge of the waterfall, and then go up the mountain from the small path next to it, where you can have a good view of the waterfall.

I drove back and forth from Guilin for three days just for this place. The scenery was stunning, but I always felt that something was missing, either the service of the scenic spot or the bad weather. In short, there was nothing amazing.

Detian Waterfall is a wide and beautiful three-level waterfall, next to Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam. The upper reaches are the Quy Xuan River flowing into Vietnam. This section of the river is a bifurcated river with many islands in the river, which divides the river water into multiple streams, pouring down from the steep cliffs from different directions, making the water flow in multiple bundles. July is the flood season. Due to the rain in the previous two days, the water quality is yellowish, but the flow is large, which makes it less beautiful and more spectacular.

Entering the scenic area, the air was much more humid, and the deep roar in the distance was endless. On the roadside, Vietnamese vendors paddled bamboo rafts and stood outside the fence to sell Vietnamese specialties. The prices were very cheap. My husband bought a few packs of cigarettes and plasters. According to him, the cigarettes were difficult to smoke. I used the plaster, but it had no effect on my back pain except fever.

Take a boat tour of the waterfall, the boat ticket is 30 yuan. This is still recommended, although the time is short. But you can see the waterfall up close. The closer you get to the waterfall, the faster the water flow, and the splashing water mist gently brushes your face, which is refreshing. There is another feeling, that is, floating on the river is like going abroad.

We walked up the road and arrived at the viewing platform in the middle of the waterfall. The turbulent water flowed down unstoppably, like flying beads and splashing jade. When I took a photo, the lens was instantly covered with a layer of water mist. Although my daughter was not soaked, she was almost wet.

Upstream of the waterfall, the river is rushing with great force.

After viewing the waterfall, walk up the stone steps to the exit of the scenic area. You can take an electric car for this section, but I still recommend walking because there are several viewing platforms along the way where you can see the full view of the waterfall from different angles.

I arrived after 5:30 pm on August 20, when the traffic police and staff were off work, so I could drive directly to the ticket gate of Detian Waterfall Scenic Area. Detian Waterfall is very beautiful.

When you arrive at the entrance of the scenic area, take their shuttle bus to see the big waterfall, take a cruise, and climb the three-level waterfall.

Detian Waterfall is the terminal and final destination of this trip to Guangxi. After taking the high-speed rail from Guilin to Nanning, I rented a car and drove to the waterfall. It took more than 4 hours, which is a bit far. When I came here before, I didn't check the bus route, so I didn't choose this route. I looked at many guides before the hotel and the destination. The second route is to book a room near the gate of the scenic area (Detian Village), so that you can drive to the gate of the scenic area (Detian Village), but someone will stop you at the tourist center and you can't drive in. If you have booked a room, show the order information to that person, and that person will let you drive up. Arrive directly at the gate of the scenic area. There are about 5 or 6 hotels in Detian Village. There are also a few places to eat. Don't worry about not having a place to eat when you get here. Of course, this route is suitable for those who can stand the loneliness in a small village.

Secondly, the Detian Cross-border Waterfall is a spectacular scene... The scenic area is not complicated. After entering, keep going to the left and you can see all the scenery you want to see. The bamboo raft costs 30 yuan per person and you can see the waterfall at the closest distance. Now you can't see the boundary monument of the Qing Dynasty. It was blocked. It will be implemented on May 16, 2018. The specific reopening time is uncertain. Then there is no need to take the battery car out of the scenic area exit, otherwise you will miss the best viewing platform. And 10 yuan each~

Detian Waterfall can only be described as shocking, because we had a close contact with it.
