"Impression of Liu Sanjie" is an epic masterpiece directed by famous Chinese director Zhang Yimou and others, with the participation of national first-class screenwriter Mei Shuaiyuan. It took five and a half years to produce.
"Impression of Liu Sanjie" is performed in the world's largest landscape theater, which is composed of the two-kilometer Lijiang River waters, 12 background mountains and the vast sky. With "Impression of Liu Sanjie" as the general theme, the performance uses the four "theme color series" of red, white, silver and yellow to creatively combine Liu Sanjie's classic folk songs, ethnic customs, Lijiang fishing fires and other elements, seamlessly integrates them into the landscape and restores them to nature, successfully interpreting the harmonious relationship between man and nature, creating a state of unity between man and nature, and giving people a visual impact and spiritual shock.

Directed by Zhang Yimou, this is a large-scale landscape performance. There are usually two shows in the evening, each lasting one hour, and they are all outdoors. The further back you sit, the better. Personally, I feel that the performance of Impression of Liu Sanjie is not as good as the performance of Guilin Eternal Love. Most of the actors are ordinary people, and the scene is more spectacular. You can refer to my travel notes for detailed guides!
It is recommended that you book your tickets in advance. During the peak tourist season during the summer vacation, there are three performances every night, at 7:45, 9:20 and 10:45, and the performance time is about 1 hour. Because we brought children with us, we booked the earliest time. The ticket price is 175/adult and 95/child, including pick-up and drop-off fees.
There are different seats at the venue, and some are slightly more expensive, while others are cheaper. We booked the B2 area, which is in the middle. I personally feel that the viewing effect is quite good. Just be aware that children's tickets do not include seats. When you arrive at the venue, you can get a small bench with your children's ticket. Children can sit on the small bench to watch the performance, or they can sit on an adult's body. But in the hot summer, it is actually more comfortable to sit on a bench.
In addition to the small stools, each person was given a disposable raincoat, because it was an open-air performance, and in case of rain, you can wear a raincoat to keep out the rain. The raincoat really came in handy. When we were halfway through the performance, it suddenly started to rain, and everyone put on their raincoats. As a result, the rain stopped in less than two minutes, haha. When we sat down, it was not completely dark yet. In front of us was a landscape with a wide field of vision, which felt very good.
When it was completely dark, the performance officially began. It is said that the performers were all local ethnic minorities, not professional actors, but the large number of actors and the beautiful scenery made it look very shocking.
Although the whole show is divided into several different color themes: golden impression, red impression, blue impression, etc., you can go to the Internet to check the introduction. The overall feeling is quite artistic, but the actors don't have microphones, so it's a bit hard to hear what they are saying, but the whole aura is very strong! This performance is not very amazing, but it is still worth watching. Several children watched it with relish~ But still remember, everyone should take anti-mosquito measures, there are really a lot of mosquitoes at night
Entering the gate, a wooden tower building is open for visit. Walking along a long trail, the bamboo woven ceiling blends into the bamboo forest on the roadside. There is also a bamboo woven hut next to it where you can sit and rest. However, people are not in the mood to wait here. Everyone is excited to go to the performance venue. The venue is an outdoor circular seat that can accommodate more than 2,000 people. We are in row 22 of area B2, relatively far back, so that we can see the panoramic view. Because the performance stage is too large, if you sit close, you can only see the details of the actors' performance. If you want to watch it again, you can consider choosing the front row. The stage is the Li River and the mountains behind. When the performance starts, the background lights of the lighting will cause people to exclaim. The mountains are clearly layered against the backdrop of the Li River, and they extend to the farther mountains one by one, just like a VR stereoscopic movie. The arrangement of the program is full of small surprises, which makes people want more. I won't spoil it here, but you can experience it yourself. It didn't rain again until the end of the performance. We were very lucky.
The whole show was staged on the Li River and set against the backdrop of the mountains. The actors were walking in the water, decorated with torches, boat lights and other lights. The scene was pretty good, but unfortunately I had seen so many shows like this and was already used to them. Coupled with my bad impression of the previous "Impression of West Lake", I was quite disappointed with this show. My favorite part of the whole show was the fishing scene, the colors and layout were spectacular, and the actors were very dedicated. There was also a small stage on the bank of the Li River, which was mainly used for singing during the scene change and showing the daily life of the Zhuang people.
The Impression series has an abstract scene at the end. I didn't know what the director wanted to express from the beginning to the end. Maybe my artistic talent is not good enough. The whole performance lasted about an hour, but I was tired by the end. In addition, the Li River is really cold at night, so everyone must wear more clothes.
In the evening, I watched the performance "Impression of Liu Sanjie", China's first landscape live performance, directed by Zhang Yimou, which has been performed for at least ten years. I remember that the last time I came to Guilin (about 8 years ago), I was amazed when I saw this performance. This song can only be found in heaven! But I think that the live performances have emerged in endlessly in recent years. In fact, I think it can be improved on the original basis to make it more attractive to today's tourists, especially young tourists. But in any case, this is still a beautiful performance, showing the customs of ethnic minorities. The song "vines wrapped around trees" is still my favorite song of the whole show, and there is also the bright moon... The picture can't show how beautiful it is. If you want to see it, you should go to the scene in person!
This is a large-scale live-action drama directed by Zhang Yimou. Maybe it's because I've watched too many movies and TV shows, and my vision is fatigued. I don't feel it's particularly good.
This is a large-scale live-action drama directed by Mou Zi, with a huge number of people and a super spectacular scene. Later, many scenic spots learned this approach, but none of them surpassed "Impression of Liu Sanjie".
The performance was pretty good. If you go to Liu Sanjie’s hometown, you must experience the story.
I booked the old VIP area online, and I had to pick up my ticket at 6:50, and the show officially started at 7:30 pm. I picked up my ticket and entered the venue. Because it was drizzling, I was given a disposable raincoat. The whole show was still very beautiful and shocking, especially when the surrounding mountains were lit up, like a three-dimensional ink painting. Very beautiful! It's worth watching.
This show is worth seeing once. I think it is much better than other outdoor performances at other famous attractions.
Is this the first live-action performance in China? Since it is directed by Zhang Yimou, the three shows every day are all sold out. Those who haven't seen it can go and see it, but those who have seen it will never watch it again.
I went there in June, and the ticket price seemed to be a little over 200 yuan, I can't quite remember. It was drizzling that day, and we all wore disposable raincoats to watch the show. The entire stage was built on the water between the mountains, which was very unique, and the scene was grand and spectacular. The design was great, but the content might be a bit profound and a bit difficult to understand, but overall it was still good!
I bought the cheapest ticket, the fourth row, which I think is a good seat. It's worth the money. The one-hour show is not too long, and I didn't feel tired watching it.
There is no main storyline, no explanation, only choreography, and the artistic level is not good enough. The audience is confused. It has been choreographed since 2004, but there has not been much progress after so many years. The dancers don't seem to be very attentive. After watching "Everlasting Sorrow" in Xi'an (also a commercial performance), I think this "Impression-Liu Sanjie" is very low. The biggest feature of the choreography of director Lao Mouzi is the large number of people. There is nothing else. The ticket price is 198, bought on Meituan. I don't think it is worth the price, but I still watch it when I come.
5-star praise! Zhang Yimou, the national master, is not to be underestimated. He gave me a lot of visual shock! With the mountains and rivers as the stage, the native fishermen as the actors, and the local customs and legends as the plot, it was a good play!
The local farmers and their children are all actors. The scene is spectacular, but not as gorgeous as the Song of Everlasting Regret in Lintong. Parking at the door is 30 yuan. Parking in Yangshuo is really expensive. It's helpless to raise the price on the spot!
The second show I booked was Impression of Liu Sanjie. I personally think the performance was average. People on the Internet say that Eternal Love is better. I saw Eternal Love in Lijiang and it was really more shocking. The actors of Impression of Liu Sanjie are all villagers from several nearby villages, more than 600 people. They work in the fields and fish in the river during the day, and perform here at night. The performance was about to start, and the lights in the venue dimmed. The performance ended at about 11 o'clock.
It's very, very nice to watch, and it's performed by many farmers who do farm work during the day and come to perform at night. It's very good.
It's OK. If you go there, you should feel it and save yourself the regret.
As the saying goes, the higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment. It's really true that apart from the live performance, the large number of people and the fame, I don't know how to describe it. It feels like the actors are always moving around. There are always children crying and adults talking loudly behind me. It's very unpleasant to watch.
A real-life performance of mountains and rivers. To be honest, I didn't understand it. It felt good, but I didn't know what was going on.
It is said that the place is packed every night, and there were also crowds of people when we went there.
Fishermen swaying to the rhythm of the music, the moving singing and dancing of "Liu Sanjie" on the moon, and the simple performances of local residents, we see their lives, everything in their daily life. When the river water and lights blend harmoniously, when music and dance are integrated, when we are moved by them, everything seems so peaceful and beautiful, and the audience on the shore cheers and cheers, and there is jubilation.
The ending seemed to be Liu Sanjie's wedding. To be honest, I didn't understand the content of the performance, and the songs were also in Guangxi dialect, which I didn't understand. After returning, the driver who picked me up said that it was mainly about the ethnic customs of Guangxi and the lighting effects.
This is a landscape drama directed by Zhang Yimou, and everyone who has seen it has given it very good reviews, saying that the performance is grand, the acting is very good, and it is very exciting to watch, with no boring moments throughout.
It is said that the place is packed every night, and there were also crowds of people when we went there.
The ending seemed to be Liu Sanjie's wedding. To be honest, I didn't understand the content of the performance, and the songs were in Guangxi dialect, so I didn't understand them. After I came back, the driver who picked me up said that it was mainly about the ethnic customs of Guangxi and the lighting effects.
I really admire Zhang Yimou. The way he chose this place, the direction of the mountain, and the angle of the water are all perfect.
The performance was a bit tasteless. There are so many performances now. Although Impression Liu Sanjie is a pioneering work with beautiful colors and lighting, the performance lacks substance. It is just a pile of light and shadow. Many people feel drowsy. It's a pity not to watch it. What can I do?
A typical "Mou" signboard with a large scene and a sea of people. To be honest, the landscape performance is still a little shocking, but it is not recommended if you are with children. Because this kind of purely artistic and aesthetic performance has no storyline at all, it is more of a visual sensory stimulation. Therefore, the order of the venue was not very good, there were children crying throughout the whole process, and people kept leaving from the middle of the performance, which really affected the mood of watching.
The scenery cleverly makes use of natural landscapes, very good!
I haven't seen Zhang Yimou's Impression series of performances, so I don't think the performances are outstanding. The only part that I found amazing was the dance on the moon, which gave people a different feeling.
It's too ugly and boring. Don't watch it. I was confused after watching it. I couldn't sit still after watching it for 20 minutes. Children are even more uninterested.
Because there were many recommendations for "Impression of Liu Sanjie", we decided to go and see this live-action drama.
"Impression of Liu Sanjie" has three performances during the peak season, the first at 19:45, the second at 21:10, and the third around 23:00. It is divided into three areas, A, B, and C. Area A is farthest from the stage, and area C is closest to the stage. The closer you are, the cheaper it is. The cheapest ticket on the official website is 168 yuan.
But... the whole performance was seriously inconsistent with the ticket price. I thought there would be some common sense of Liu Sanjie, but the whole performance felt like it was just for the sake of being elevated. The real landscape stage made people feel more foggy and misty. It was really a bit hard to understand. It was supposed to show the ordinary and simple life (love) of the local people, but it had to be elevated to a certain color. The whole performance was 70 minutes in total and cost me 170 yuan. I feel sad just thinking about it. In short, it was a large-scale song and dance show. Not only was there no plot, but it was also rough and incoherent. A group of people walked around and ran around. In addition to singing, there were even a few segments that were purely based on human voices without microphones. If you were not sitting in the front rows, you would have no idea what they were doing. If you really want to watch it, buy the cheapest ticket, because you sit in the front row and the actors are very far away from you.
Go check it out when you get there, and remember to bring binoculars.
Get tickets, queue up to enter, two-level entrance ticket inspection, second line has bag security check, quite standardized. Adults have seats according to the number plate, children are half price, pick up small folding stools at designated places inside. This is different from the live performances in Phoenix, where there are only ticket price areas, and there is no fixed seat. Entering the seats, I was surprised by the natural stage background formed by several mountains. It is really beautiful and the location is good. I read the introduction of the performance. After all, the director's level fourteen years ago should have been amazing at the time. After watching the whole show for an hour, I felt it was just average. But since I'm here, I still have to experience it. After all, although there are many performances of XX Impression in various places, they are all different. Regardless of the level, I will experience the local characteristics.
The show was so boring, there was no plot at all, the folk songs were totally incomprehensible, I was drunk, the worst live show I've ever seen. It was far inferior to the "Song of Everlasting Sorrow" I saw, and even inferior to the "Zuo Mei" in Sanjiang, Guilin. Didn't this company go bankrupt, but is it still trying to make money? In fact, the local boss also knows that this show is not good enough, and now Guilin is advertising "Eternal Love" everywhere, which is really a good way to make money.
I watched the world's largest live theater "Impression of Liu Sanjie". The grand lineup and original music were really good. The show started, rows of bamboo rafts were neatly arranged, and the raft workers waved red cloths to the rhythm of the music, forming a red wave. The scene was really grand. But I felt that the only drawback was that there were no subtitles and no sound equipment during the singing (maybe the director wanted to keep it original). Against the empty stage background, I could only hear the humming. I couldn't hear the lyrics clearly and couldn't understand the general meaning of the lyrics, so it felt boring.
Three stars for the rating. One star for the lighting, one star for the sound, and one star for your face. My personal experience was not very good. The extras performed for a long time but I didn't know what they were performing. It was raining and the raincoat they gave me was really useless. There was no introduction to the background at the scene. I felt like I was the only one in the audience who looked confused. Then the lighting was good for a while, and other places were pitch black. By the way, the girl who was singing dozed off (bitter smile). I'm sorry to take a picture of her to make her famous.
It was still very shocking to watch it live. The looming mountains, the reflections of the water mirror, the embellishment of the mist and rain, the gentle humming of the bamboo forest, and the spreading of the moonlight would enter the performance at any time, giving people a beautiful enjoyment. The ordinary tickets we bought were 158 yuan per person. The later the tickets were VIP tickets and presidential tickets, ranging from 200 to 500 yuan.
The performers of Liu Sanjie are all local villagers. They work outside during the day and come to perform at night. It has to be said that in Liu Sanjie's hometown, everyone has a good voice!
Liu Sanjie is a large-scale real-life landscape performance located on the Li River. It is different from Encore Pingyao. In comparison, I prefer Encore Pingyao.
It is a famous place with many people.
After watching Liu Sanjie, I was impressed that the cost was all spent on manpower! But the lighting effect of the picture is very good, especially the mountain in the back will glow.
The first impression after watching Impression Liu Sanjie was that it was not worthy of its reputation. In fact, the opening lights were quite gorgeous, but it was only for a moment. There was no theme plot or narration during the whole performance. The performance used a sea of people tactics, with a large number of extras, but there was no microphone. Even sitting in the ninth row, I could hardly hear it, let alone the audience dozens of rows behind. Halfway through the performance, I once doubted whether I was watching Liu Sanjie, because I really didn't know what the content of the performance had to do with the theme. I have watched some Impression series and Eternal Love series before, but I really don't recommend this one.
I asked the shopkeeper to help me book the tickets at the Youth Hostel, which included the round-trip fare to West Street. The price of the VIP B2 area was 170 RMB, which was better than the ordinary seat C area. There was also a better B1 area, which was more expensive... Before I went, many friends said there was nothing to see, but for me, I still felt very shocked. It was a real large-scale landscape stage play with the Li River as the stage and the green mountains as the background. There were more than a thousand actors performing. Whether it was from the scenery or the performance, it had a very special feeling, and I could feel the hard work and dedication of many people. The stage play also vividly restored the scenes of the girl bathing and getting married by the river, the ordinary farm life scenes, and the fisherman fishing scenes. It used a special way to let the audience understand the traditional life of the people here. Many actors were also local fishermen, working during the day and performing at night...
The lights are changing, the fishermen are singing, the bamboo rafts are rowing, the torches are lit, the smoke is hazy, the crescent moon dancers...
The theater is very popular. The tickets for the show are booked by the hotel, and the 238 tickets are only 180 in area B. The location is pretty good
The theater was packed with people. The performance was quite impressive!
I came here with expectations, but also with disappointment. After watching the stunning scenes of Impression Wulong in Chongqing Wulong, which gave people a visual and auditory feast, today's Impression Liu Sanjie did not have that atmosphere. The venue was empty, the opening volume was low, there was no microphone, no lead singer, even the fifth row could not hear clearly, and there was no linking words or commentary. It was completely incomprehensible to foreign tourists. The whole team expressed disappointment that they did not grasp the essence of Liu Sanjie.
We queued for a long time to get in, and the place was almost full, but the performance was really not to our liking, and we found that many people left in the middle of the show. I suggest that if you don't really want to see it, you can cancel this trip.
Regardless of the artistic level of Liu Sanjie, I think our tickets are cost-effective. We are in row 31 of zone B2, and the ticket price for four people in the same car can buy the old VIP seats. Looking down from a high vantage point, the venue with a capacity of 3,000 people was full, and the highest old VIP seats were basically occupied by foreigners. I especially admire the fishermen's skills in controlling bamboo rafts. There was a fishing fire on the Li River, and dozens of villagers paddled rafts scattered on the river. It seemed chaotic, but chaotic and orderly. To sum up, my father and foreigners liked this very much.
Some scenes are still very beautiful, such as the fishing fire and the red impression, but overall, there is a lack of coherence, and the connection between the impressions is very unnatural. In the middle, even the "green impression" passed by without much attention. The audience did not understand the content of the performance. If there was a simple screen before the performance to play the introduction, it would increase their understanding and acceptance of the performance. In short, it is not recommended to watch.
Stars to the lighting technicians and the hard-working actors! There are so many actors in a play, and their movements are neat. I don’t know what they are singing, and I can’t hear them clearly, understand them, or resonate with them (many audiences left in the middle, which was embarrassing)!!! Zhang Yimou’s big production, but the appreciation level is limited
I came to watch it with full confidence, but it was a mess from the beginning, the content was not rich, and the lighting and scenery were poor. I don't recommend watching it!
I admire the extras who work during the day and perform at night. The Impression of Liu Sanjie, choreographed by director Zhang Yimou, reflects the life of the local people, especially the singing.
Because I didn't book tickets in advance, I almost missed "Impression of Liu Sanjie". I had a lot of trouble to get tickets to watch the show. I must book in advance in the future... The seats were full... The real scenery of the Li River as the background of the performance was grand and shocking! The largest real-life performance of landscape, with a huge cast, mostly nearby villagers. I think similar performances are worth seeing!
The whole performance was seriously inconsistent with the ticket price. Compared with the Impression series of performances and Eternal Love, I feel that Eternal Love is worth watching, but it doesn't matter whether you watch this Impression performance or not. The whole performance feels elevated for the sake of elevation. The real landscape stage makes people feel more foggy and misty. It's really a bit hard to understand. It was originally meant to show the ordinary and simple life (love) of the local people, but it has to be elevated to a certain color. I heard a comment yesterday that Zhang Yimou is a decorator, which is so appropriate. The whole performance was 70 minutes in total and cost me 198 yuan. I feel sad just thinking about it. If you really want to watch it, buy the cheapest ticket, because you sit in the front row and the actors are far away from you.
I have been reading Impression of Liu Sanjie since I graduated in 2004. Now, more than ten years later, I still like reading it, whether it is the first edition or the fifth edition. I have a different experience every time I read it.
You can find "Fun Travel" tickets at local performances and exhibitions.
I'm waiting for you in Guilin.
I never write reviews when I travel. Because traveling is for myself, and the feelings are my own feelings. But today I really feel about Impression Liu Sanjie. If Michelin has a star rating standard for stage plays, Impression Liu Sanjie will definitely be rated three stars. "It" is no longer described by beauty. Especially the opening song "Mountain Songs Are Like Spring River Water", which uses a poem to describe the feeling of "The mountains and rivers are connected to the Lijiang River, and the fireworks are evocative of people's homes." Sometimes elegant, sometimes shocking! Zhang Yimou's use of the beauty of three-dimensional space is used to the extreme in Impression Liu Sanjie! The picture has already tarnished Impression Liu Sanjie. Be sure to remember, be sure to experience it yourself! And the local customs and folk art of my great China are really too attractive!
Liu Sanjie is watched outdoors, so you must pay attention to the weather conditions. Fans and drinks will be sold on site, so don't panic if you go there in summer. In addition, we also bought the tickets for Liu Sanjie online. I suggest that you buy them online if you can this time. The queues on site are very scary.
The entrance gate of the theater is even more antique than the scenic spot of Jingjiang Wangcheng, which is supposed to be an ancient building.
The performance was pretty good. Zhang Yimou is Zhang Yimou. No wonder he is rich.
After the Impression Liu Sanjie performance, there were electric cars to take tourists back to the hotel on Yangshuo West Street for a fee. I remember it was 10 or 20 yuan per person. It was not convenient because it was dark, so we just took the electric car back.
This is a masterpiece directed by Zhang Yimou, which reflects Zhang's ability to coordinate large-scale scenes and multiple actors, especially the use of the natural landscape of the Lijiang River tributaries as the stage and background. It is a real landscape performance. Tickets can be purchased online, which will be cheaper. Please note that the seats are distributed along the slope, divided into three areas, A, B, C, and C. Area A is the highest and arranged downwards, and Area C is basically flush with the stage, so the higher the number of rows, the more expensive the ticket price.
The ticket collection information asked us to come an hour earlier to collect the tickets, saying that there were too many tourists, but we got the tickets in less than three minutes.
You need to go through security check before entering the venue, and the staff will distribute raincoats to the audience. After entering, I found that it was very large, like a park. I walked for five minutes but still hadn't reached the audience seats.
Finally we arrived at the audience seats. As soon as we entered, we were shocked by the real view of the Li River in front of us! It was really spectacular!
The tickets were numbered and we sat on the right side of the B2 area. Fortunately, we sat on the right side, but later we found that most of the performance was biased towards the right side, which made us feel sorry for the audience on the left side.
I have to say that the Impression Liu Sanjie scene is very shocking. The performance team of hundreds or thousands of people describes the daily life and routine of small villages and towns, and brings out the role of light to the fullest.
It was my first time to see such a performance. The open-air stage faced the lake. The scene was quite large and there were many people. It was like Zhang Yimou's style, but there was too little content. And it was said that the actors were all local fishermen. They worked in the morning and performed in the evening.
I have seen Impression Lijiang and Impression West Lake before. One is simple and the other is beautiful. I had high expectations for Liu Sanjie this time, but after watching it, I felt it was quite average.
It's hard for non-professional actors to perform on the water, but I really can't appreciate this kind of performance that is similar to group gymnastics and has no emotional coordination or plot.
Alas, "Impression of Liu Sanjie" is praised by famous directors. It is so expensive that every tour group to Yangshuo includes this item. You know the reason! I am afraid of regret if I don't watch it, and I will regret it even more if I watch it! The reason why I always have a hard time choosing a certain impression of the places I visit is that "Impression of Lijiang" left a good impression, and now "Impression of Liu Sanjie" has left a deep impression - I don't have to worry about it anymore.
There are more and more real-life landscape performances in various scenic spots now, but the quality of the Impression series is still guaranteed.
The scenes, props, and costumes are all great, but the actors and performances are just so-so. Maybe I'm tired of acting after doing it every day.
If you have watched the Songcheng Eternal Love series, you will not find this one good at all.
Liu Sanjie is still worth a visit, but it's a bit far from where I live. I had to walk there and take a Tongyi electric car back. When they were trying to attract customers, they said they would drop us off halfway to West Street.
The photo shows the moon in the sky, but unfortunately the phone is not good.
"Impression of Liu Sanjie" is a large-scale Guilin landscape live performance. "Impression of Liu Sanjie" is the core project of China Lijiang Landscape Theater. It is the first "landscape live performance" in China. Unlike performances in other places, this performance is a live performance in the water, which is very special.
The performance venue can accommodate 3,500 spectators. Usually there is only one performance at 8 pm, and two or even three performances on weekends and holidays. The whole performance lasts about 60-70 minutes. The second performance usually starts after 9:30 pm, and the third performance will have to be after 11 pm!
Tickets can be bought on site, but more people look for agents online (like us), such as Ctrip, Tongcheng, Taobao, China-TravelNote, etc., and the prices are basically the lowest. The seats are divided into three levels, and the closer to the stage, the cheaper. The front seats are crowded and have plastic seats, while the VIP seats in the back are spacious and have other services. But I think that in addition to the comfort of the seats, the front and back seats have their own advantages in watching the performance. The front seats can clearly see the actors, and the back seats can feel the magnificence of the performance more macroscopically.
It was very interesting to buy tickets online to enter the venue: after booking the tickets, the other party sent you a text message to confirm (this is normal), and then you had to reply whether you were a group customer, and you had to confirm that you could travel independently before you could buy their ticket (this was a bit confusing), and then they notified us that the show would be at 8 o'clock, and asked us to pick up the tickets at the door one hour in advance (this was also a regular reminder, which was quite normal), but you had to find the No. 168 sign to pick up the tickets (I was full of doubts about this, and I found many people holding signs with different numbers when I arrived at the scene). The whole notification process was intermittent, and different mobile phone numbers were used. Sometimes I even felt like I was being scammed in a chain! 😄 We arrived at the door 40 minutes in advance and found the No. 168 sign. The sign holder asked us to go through security first and then find another No. 168 sign inside to pick up the tickets. It turned out that after each agent received the order, each of their many buyers was responsible for a portion of the tickets, and then they distributed them after receiving the tickets.
After entering, you will find that you will find a park with a pretty nice environment. You don't need a ticket to enter the park, you just need to go through security check, and it will take another seven or eight minutes to walk to the performance venue. In fact, if you have nothing to do, it's also nice to go in early and take a look around.
We were there on Saturday, and the tickets we got were in the fifth row in the front. After watching the first show, I felt unsatisfied. Since we lived close and it was still early, I decided to watch it again. I first learned about the performance outside the venue and gained some knowledge, and then followed the audience for the second show in. There were fewer people in the second show, and the right corner of the auditorium was empty. Only some tour guides were sitting there playing with their phones. We chose a seat and sat down. This time, the view was wide, and we relived the classic from a different angle. It was the first time in my life that I could watch it twice in one go, and I was so excited every time I watched it!
The performance has been performed frequently since 2004. In the words of director Zhang Yimou himself: "It is a show." It shows the landscape of Guilin, the folk customs, and the state of harmony between man and nature.
"Impression of Liu Sanjie" consists of five sections plus a prelude and an epilogue, which are divided into "Prologue: Legend of Mountains and Rivers", "Red Impression: Duet", "Green Impression: Home", "Blue Impression: Love Song", "Golden Impression: Fishing Fires", "Silver Impression: Ceremony" and "Epilogue: Ode to Heaven and Earth".
It takes 30 minutes to walk from the hotel to the performance site of Impression Liu Sanjie. We bought tickets for the fourth show which started at 23:30. After eating, we went straight to the ticket office to exchange tickets. This show was directed by Zhang Yimou and nearly a thousand people participated in the show. The scene was very shocking. As soon as the background music came out, the whole person was instantly integrated into it. Throughout the whole show, the moving folk songs lingered in my ears for a long time.
Zhang Yimou's Impression series always gives people the characteristics of grandeur, magnificence and shock. Liu Sanjie is no exception. As the earliest Impression series performance, the lighting, stage, characters, scenes, etc. all bring visual and auditory shocks. Sometimes the plot and story, whether you really understand it or not is secondary.
The official requirement for Liu Sanjie performance is that you cannot bring water into the venue. In fact, no one cares if you bring water into the venue. When exchanging tickets online, don't just take it and leave. You can choose the next seat. The 15th row and back are the best seats for ordinary VIP seats. There are sightseeing buses to West Street in the evening. So don't worry about the bus. 10 yuan per person one-way. It is recommended to buy tickets for the first show of Impression Liu Sanjie. Ordinary VIP seats cost 10 yuan more, and old VIP seats cost 3 yuan more. This way you still have energy to visit West Street. Otherwise, if you book tickets online regardless of the show, you may be arranged for the third show. It was already 00:30 when I came out. I suffered a lot from this in Hengdian. I learned my lesson this time.
The performance itself was a bit of a surprise.
I went to watch "Impression of Liu Sanjie" in the evening. I felt that this performance really brought together all the tourists in Yangshuo. The performance was just okay... The most profound feeling was that after entering the venue, it was dark all around, and then the performance began. When the first climax came and many searchlights were turned on, I realized that there were mountains all around us. Then, accompanied by music, the red ribbons were all unfurled, and the boatman danced in the red silk...
The lighting effect is well done, and the picture looks beautiful at night.
The stage lighting effects are stunning and well worth seeing.
I just finished watching it, and I can't calm down for a long time. It is said that hundreds of Chinese and foreign artists participated in it, and it was created by famous Chinese directors and screenwriters. It is a bit exaggerated to say that it is unbearable to watch, but it is really disappointing. 1. A large part of the beginning is a chorus of folk songs, most of which are not through the sound system. It is indeed original, but it is difficult for the audience to resonate. Folk songs are good, but thousands of people watched the singing scattered everywhere, without much artistic design, which is not even as good as the experience of enjoying folk songs in the theater.
2. It is called "Impression of Liu Sanjie", but there is no plot. There seem to be several sections related to the third sister, but it is not explicitly stated, leaving the audience to guess. I am also impressed by this performance. If you want to see the touching story of the third sister, please take a detour.
3. The scenes in each segment are loosely connected and have no progressive relationship, so the audience cannot be drawn into the plot and remain as spectators. In addition, the appearance and ending time of each segment is too long, which makes the audience feel alienated while waiting for the actors to appear.
4. The performance of the rural life of ethnic minorities is too lifelike. The audience is far away, and the sound is only the sound of birds and cows. The audience only sees the general life scene, which is not far from most people. Even if the cows are driven onto the stage, it will not help. The part that is higher than life cannot be seen.
5. The scene of the girl taking a bath is very awkward. It has little to do with the ethnicity and lacks much aesthetic appeal. It is indeed a bit sensational.
6. There are too few screens at the beginning, which cannot be integrated with the real scene and fail to achieve the effect of refreshing the audience.
7. The ending uses photoelectric effects, which seems novel, but is not. The flashing effect is even funny and totally incompatible with the theme, not to mention the boredom of the actors taking several minutes to get into position.
If you haven't seen other live-action dramas, or just want to understand the living scenes of the various ethnic groups in Guangxi and listen to folk songs, it's worth watching this one.
The above opinions are purely my own and are for reference only. However, the performance location is really good, and those few mountain pillars are amazing enough. Finally, I still hope that Chinese and foreign artists can make further improvements to live up to this unique real scene.
I had already opposed going to Impression Liu Sanjie because the guide on China-TravelNote said not to go and it was not good. My teammates insisted on going, saying that others said it was good. Alas! It seemed that they were unwilling not to go, so I went with them. I didn't expect that this would be the beginning of pain and embarrassment. . .
I strongly suggest that you don't go to see "Impression of Liu Sanjie". The sound system is poor, there is no amplification, and only the actors are shouting...
The disposable raincoat on site costs ten yuan each, and the buttons are broken and cannot be buttoned. If you really want to buy one, you can buy a cover-over raincoat (without buttons).
Even though I wore two raincoats and held an umbrella, I still felt the water pouring down my back. I felt cold. The water filled my sneakers, but I had nowhere to put my feet! The pockets of my raincoat between my thighs were full of water. I pushed the water away, but it filled up again. . . I was really tortured by the rain! I was afraid of the rain.
I said to them, "Let's go back." They felt that they had spent 180 yuan per ticket and didn't think it was a waste. Maybe, maybe we were all expecting the next second of the performance to be wonderful and worth waiting for. . . In fact, we were very disappointed. After waiting for more than half an hour, my teammates couldn't stand it anymore and complained one after another. We withdrew, and the people at the scene also left one after another. Everyone's opinion of Master Zhang Yimou, alas, was discounted. . .
Overall, it was great. It was off-season when I went there, and there seemed to be only one show. There were not many people. There were a lot of people picking up tickets at the door, and the entrance was quite orderly. It was a little rainy that day, and the organizers also distributed raincoats thoughtfully. The scene was shocking, but the transportation was not very convenient. I suggest that everyone make an appointment in advance before going back after the show. There were a lot of cars at the end, and the road at the door was very narrow, making it difficult to drive in. During the performance, the audience with children around was still a bit noisy, which affected the viewing experience.
