Except for the helmet, you can take everything else home. The first waterfall is relatively high and children under 12 are not allowed to climb it. My son was very unhappy. From the second waterfall, there is a section of water and a small ramp to climb. My son had a lot of fun. You can also experience the zipline and the small train going down the mountain. The zipline is 20 yuan per person and the small train is 50 yuan for two people. In short, this attraction is really conscientious! You can take your children to play!

Entering the gate of Gudong Scenic Area, you can start to buy some equipment for climbing the waterfall. Straw shoes are recommended because the ground under the waterfall is still a stone road, so wearing straw shoes can prevent slipping a lot. I asked the staff if there was a bus to Guanyan, but I was told that there seemed to be no bus, so we went to the waiting room to check. There are more than a dozen exits in the waiting room, but there was no bus at the No. 15 Guanyan (stopping at Gudong). The staff at the exit of the parking lot also said that they didn't see any bus to Guanyan today. I waited for more than an hour, but there was no bus. I was unwilling to give up, so I checked online and found that I could take a bus to Sanlidian Dayuanpan, then transfer to Daxu, and finally take a motorcycle to Gudong Waterfall. Well, I went back to the city to take the bus to Sanlidian. It was already past three o'clock when I arrived in the city. On the way, I found that there were few buses to Daxu. I thought that even if I arrived, the time for sightseeing was very tight, and the transportation back was even more of a problem, so I had to give up. In the end, I didn't lose on the day because of the weather (at least it didn't rain in the city), but because of the transportation. Fortunately, I didn't book the tickets in advance, otherwise I would have to go through the trouble of refunding the tickets. I didn't book a one-day tour to Guanyan Gudong because there were already Reed Flute Cave and Silver Cave in the itinerary, and Guanyan was said to be useless, and it was not cost-effective to take up a day, so I planned to visit Gudong Waterfall for half a day, but I didn't expect the public transportation to be so bad. In fact, this problem is a common problem in Guilin tourism: the buses to and from many attractions are very few because they are affected by tour groups or one-day tours. This is far worse than Chengdu. The tourist buses between the various attractions in Chengdu are very developed, which effectively makes up for the lack of public transportation.

I bought tickets online in advance, 130 yuan for two people. Because the child is less than 140 cm tall, there is no need to buy tickets. I bought waterproof equipment in the scenic area, including raincoats, straw sandals, waterproof mobile phone cases, and hats for rent. Shoes can be stored and carried on the back. We basically set off at almost ten o'clock and arrived in about an hour. When we got there, we just ate something at the door and bought a water gun for the child. We came here to play in the water, and we must let the children play enough. When we were going down the mountain, the children couldn't walk anymore, mainly because they were wearing straw sandals, which made it uncomfortable. Halfway down the mountain, there was a zip line and a small train. We chose to take the small train because the zip line was too short and it was already at the bottom of the mountain, so it was not very dangerous and we thought it was meaningless. In the end, our choice was proven to be correct. The small train was indeed more interesting, and it was all spiraling down the mountain, which was quite thrilling.

After entering the scenic area, there are various transportation options to choose from. There are two principles: 1. If you are with the elderly and children who are not in good physical condition, you can take all kinds of transportation. Of course, they are all extra charges, basically 20 yuan per person. 2. If you want to experience a certain mode of transportation, you can choose to take it. The bamboo raft just after entering the scenic area is a pit. In fact, there are only a few steps to walk. We basically sat on it, which is considered to save some energy. When the bamboo raft landed, we arrived at the entrance of the main scenic area. Here we changed a little brother guide and gave each person a sign for the 20th group.

The biggest feature of the scenic spot is playing with water. The first half is basically playing with water. If you play with water, you have to buy a hydrophilic suit for 10 yuan per person, including a mobile phone waterproof bag, a pair of straw sandals, a helmet, and a non-woven bag (for your own shoes), which can be taken away. There is also a 15 yuan hydrophilic suit, which has an extra raincoat on the basis of the four-piece suit just now. It turns out that raincoats are redundant on such a hot day. The mountains are very humid and hot, and it is uncomfortable to wear raincoats. Note: If you choose to play with water, you must wear straw sandals throughout the whole process, which is a little bit painful. At the place where you exchange shoes, you can ask him for straw sandals according to the size of your feet, and you can also exchange them if they are not suitable. If you don't play with water, you can wear your own shoes throughout the whole process, but you are not allowed to go into the water. Basically, there are staff supervising the whole process of playing with water. The first water-playing trail has a bit of a high drop, and you need to be more than 1.5 meters tall, otherwise you can only play from the second one.

Soaking your feet in the icy cold water is really comfortable in the hot summer. If you don't mind your children's clothes getting wet, you can buy a water gun at the entrance to increase the fun of playing in the water.

There are some unique small landscapes on the way back, which are worth seeing. For example, there will be a local dialect word on every few steps when going down the mountain, asking you to guess the meaning, but most of them are completely unguessable. Then there are various transfers. I recommend the cable car, although it only takes a few seconds to slide down.

At every small scenic spot in the scenic area, there will be people to help you take photos. You can choose when you come down. If you like it, take it. If you don’t want it, it doesn’t matter. It costs 20 yuan per photo.

Drinks are sold every once in a while in the mountains, mainly mango, passion fruit, and watermelon. The prices are not expensive. A glass of squeezed orange juice is usually 10 to 15 yuan.

There are various fruits for sale in the scenic area, mainly mangoes, as well as local specialties such as fire ginseng fruit, apple bananas...

It is said to be the only waterfall in the country that can be climbed, so this attraction has always been my son's favorite. The waterfall is divided into 6 levels, and the 1st and 6th levels are relatively high, so there are height and age restrictions for children. I remember that only children over 10 years old and taller than 150cm can climb.

If you don't climb the waterfall, you can walk on the trail next to it. Wearing special straw sandals, climbing the waterfall is not slippery at all, which is a very, very good experience. (Straw sandals are also sold outside the ticket office, and they are very cheap. Because I read in the guide that the straw sandals bought outside cannot be worn inside, I obediently went in and bought a set meal. The 10 yuan set meal includes a helmet, straw sandals, and a waterproof phone case. The 15 yuan set meal adds a raincoat to the 10 yuan set meal. Because you are required to wear a helmet when climbing the waterfall, if you buy straw sandals outside without a helmet, you must buy the set meal again inside. I personally don't recommend buying a raincoat. It's hot to begin with, and wearing a layer of plastic cloth sticking to your body is even more uncomfortable. Besides, isn't it fun to get wet when climbing a waterfall?)

After climbing the 6-level waterfall, you can still climb the mountain. There is a long suspension bridge behind, and you can go down the mountain if you don't go back. But after consulting Guoguo, we still want to climb the waterfall, which is the real reason for coming here, so we returned and climbed the waterfall again. This is also the charm of self-guided tours, you can play however you want. A few people in a team probably saw us climbing wet, and learned that we were climbing for the second time, so they asked the tour guide if they could play like this a few times, but the tour guide ruthlessly refused, and they still wanted to go to the suspension bridge to see better scenery.

It is still necessary to bring a set of dry clothes to change, and carry your shoes on your back, whether you continue to climb or go down the mountain, leaving the waterfall or walking comfortably in your own shoes. So this is when a waterproof backpack comes into play.

It was already 4pm when we arrived at Gudong Waterfall (the scenic spot is open from 8:00am to 5:30pm in summer), and we were the last two tourists to enter. Fortunately, we happened to meet two large tourist groups, and they also hired tour guides in the scenic spot, so the closing time was extended. Although we entered late, we still visited the entire scenic spot.

You can climb the waterfall, and you need to buy equipment, which varies from 10 yuan to 15 yuan. Be sure to pay attention to safety! ! ! There are wishing cards and copper locks on the top of the mountain, which are 10 yuan and 30 yuan respectively. When going down the mountain, you can walk the whole way, or you can take a cable + slide car in two sections. The cable car is 20 yuan/person, with age and weight restrictions, and the upper limit of weight is 200 catties; the slide car is 30 yuan per person and 50 yuan per two people. If there are two people, the total weight must not exceed 300 catties.

It costs 10 yuan per person to take a bamboo raft after entering the gate, and 15 yuan per person to buy raincoats, straw sandals, and safety helmets. After getting dressed, I started to get close to the waterfall and get wet. The waterfall is so big that my clothes got wet when I went up. Fortunately, I was wearing a raincoat. The scenery along the way was very beautiful. After getting wet, I continued to move forward and took a high-altitude zipline. It cost 40 yuan per person. It was quite hard to walk all the way down in straw sandals.

Don't buy raincoats and straw sandals at the entrance of the scenic area. They are available inside the scenic area. They are given away when you rent a helmet. Bring some water and dry food! If you go there by yourself, you need to do your homework, because it is a bit far. If you travel by yourself, you can go to Gudong from the bus station for 15 yuan. He will only take you to the village entrance. It takes an average of about 40 minutes to walk in. You can wait for the 108 bus, but this bus seems to run only once every two hours. If you can't wait, you can ask someone to drive you in for 5 yuan per person!

As soon as we entered the scenic area, there was a lake. The staff tried to sell us a boat ride, but we decided that it was more meaningful to walk. Fortunately, we didn't take a boat ride, and it wasn't long. Soon, we rented helmets and were given a pair of straw sandals. The sandals were small, otherwise the staff would not allow tourists to climb the waterfall. There are six waterfalls in the scenic area that can be climbed. Only the first one is not allowed for children under 1.5 meters to climb, because it is too shaky. After climbing up, the second one is right behind, which is obviously much shorter. The scenic area is not big, and we soon reached the last waterfall. We stopped to rest for a while and took some pictures. There is a bridge on the top of the mountain. The staff said that we can't look back, otherwise it will be unlucky.

Gudong Waterfall is very suitable for visiting in summer. It costs 15 yuan to take a bus at Guilin Bus Station, and you can reach the gate of the scenic area after a short walk. The ticket is 70 yuan per ticket, and there doesn't seem to be any discount. The characteristic of the scenic area is that you can climb the waterfall. In order to experience the feeling of getting wet, I didn't buy a raincoat, hahahaha. There are 7 waterfalls in one waterfall, so of course you get wet all the way. No matter how strong the sun is, playing in the water is very comfortable. There is a suspension bridge on the mountain, which is very exciting, but I am tired and hungry after the whole play. There is nothing to eat in the scenic area. There is a pickle shop not far from the scenic area. I could smell the aroma of fried pickles from a long distance and bought a few bottles. They tasted very good. We all rushed to finish eating before we returned to Guilin, hahaha. I suggest that everyone should bring dry food.

The weather is so hot, it's really cool here. There are iron chains and stone nests on the waterfall. You can climb up one level at a time. It's fun! After climbing the waterfall, continue to go up the mountain. There is also a naturally formed Guanyin Cave on the mountain. There is a suspension bridge, you can also play zipline, and the small train shuttles through the forest. It's still fun. It takes about three hours to visit the Gudong Scenic Area. The last bus back to Guilin is five o'clock. If there are many people, you can directly share a car back to Guilin for 20 yuan each.

The beauty is so breathtaking that I don’t want to go back to the city after I went there. The primeval forest is what I long for.
