Nine Horses Painting Mountain is one of the famous landscapes of the Li River in Guilin. It is located four kilometers upstream from Xingping. Standing by the river, the stone wall is like a sharp cut. From a distance, it looks like a huge painting screen. The mountain is a sharp cut wall, more than 100 meters high and wide. The stone wall is colorful with ochre, yellow, green and white, with shades of light and dark, and it is like a huge mural, so it is called Painting Mountain. Take a closer look at Nine Horses Painting Mountain. There are nine horses on the top, bottom, left, right and fishtail peak of the stone wall, so it is called Nine Horses Painting Mountain. There is also a drinking horse spring at the foot of the mountain. On the stone wall next to the spring, there are a few words "Qingli Stone Wall Picture" by Ruan Yuan of the Qing Dynasty.
The Nine Horses Painting Mountain has five connected peaks and is surrounded by mountains on the east, south and north sides, with steep cliffs on the west side overlooking the river. The Qing Dynasty poet Xu Gong praised it: "Mountains have been like paintings since ancient times, and now paintings are like mountains. The picture of horses presents nine heads, a rare thing in the world."
There is a mountain four kilometers upstream from Xingping. It has five peaks, surrounded by mountains on the east, south and north sides, and facing the river on the west side. The stone wall is more than 100 meters high and wide, with green, yellow and white, and a variety of colors, alternating between light and dark, like a picture of a divine horse. Later, because the residents nearby found a pattern on the stone wall that looked like nine horses when they passed by here, they were very curious. Over time, they called this mountain "Nine Horses Painting Mountain". In fact, the correct name should be "Nine Horses Painting Wall".
First, we passed the Nine Horses Painting Mountain. But before we could count how many horses there were, we arrived at Xingping Wharf. I took out the 20 yuan I had prepared and checked in.
The famous Yangshuo landscape, 20 RMB behind the scenery, is really beautiful. The water is deeper, you can't take the artificial bamboo raft like Yulong River, change to a metal electric raft with 4 people in a boat. The two of us paid 50 RMB difference, two people in a boat, the boat's motor is really loud, and communication on the boat basically relies on shouting. Fortunately, the boatman is very good, and he took the initiative to chat with us and introduce the scenery along the way. The scenery is really beautiful. In addition to the noise, the boat is quite cool on a hot day~
"Look at the horse groom, look at the horse groom, how many pairs of horses do you have? If you can see seven horses that will win the second place, you can see nine horses that will win the first place."
The canyon rafting at the foot of Jiuma Painting Mountain is unique in the world. It is only 300 meters away from the Li River. The unique rafting river design makes tourists feel like they are in a fairyland and swimming in a painting. It is the only comprehensive leisure and tourism scenic spot in Yangshuo Scenic Area that integrates rafting, river tracing, camping, hiking, rock climbing, field battles, slides, and outdoor development. It is the most essential scenery on the Li River. You can choose to hike or ride a bike to visit. Therefore, Jiuma Painting Mountain Canyon Rafting is praised by both China and foreign countries as the canyon rafting with the most humanistic atmosphere.
The large and small peaks are closely connected, like a painting screen before your eyes.
The divine horse from heaven secretly came down to earth, and the painter was frightened and embedded in the rock.
The shapes of the mountains in the Nine Horse Paintings are different, and it is not easy to see them clearly.
The natural scenery is so beautiful, why do we need to recognize the shape of the horse?
Can't tell how many horses there are? The riverside scenery is still okay.
One of the scenic spots you see while cruising the Li River on a cruise ship is truly a work of nature.
Take a boat tour on the Li River. Standing on the boat, you can see the Nine Horses Painting Mountain, which is also a major feature of the Li River.
There is a huge cliff in the middle of the Li River. How many horses you can count depends on your eyesight and imagination.
I personally really like Jiuma Huashan. When you take the ferry to the small island opposite, you will see a different scenery. The bamboo raft is recommended to take Xingping Ancient Town to Jiuma Huashan.
To be honest, I can't really see the nine horses. It takes a certain amount of imagination. One of the most famous attractions on the Li River
On the back of the 20 yuan note is a painting of nine horses on a mountain. Sitting on the ferry, listening to the guide's description, you can clearly see the horse heads on the mountain wall. The scenery along the Li River is super beautiful. I paid an extra 50 yuan to sit in the VIP seat, which was comfortable and cozy.
The beautiful scenery I saw on the Samsung ship made me wonder how many horses there were. The scenery along the way was actually very beautiful, and the breeze was very pleasant.
The bamboo rafts here are motorized and take 20 minutes to go back and forth. If you have the energy and are not in a hurry, you can rent a bicycle or mountain bike, or walk along the river. There are also battery cars along the river. It takes about two or three hours to complete the highlights.
Only seeing four horses, seeing nine horses is not enough
Jiuma Painting Mountain is still very magical, and it is also the starting point for Li River rafting.
I have to admit that the name of the Nine Horses Painting Mountain is quite good. Many tourists go there specifically to take pictures. It looks a bit hazy from a distance, but becomes clear when you get close, and lacks the sense of mystery. The shape resembles nine horses, and it feels a bit like horses galloping in the mountains.
It is also a classic passage, best when it is misty and rainy.
The stone mountain, which is connected to the Li River, is one of the famous landscapes of Guilin Li River.
A famous landscape in the Li River scenery. I didn't visit it carefully this time.
A cliff that is famous for its allusions. Overall, it is still very majestic. The images of flying horses on the cliffs are also different. It is an indispensable classic on the Li River.
There are too many attractions here, and I didn't make a good guide. I chose to go rafting from Xingping to Jiuma Huashan, but it was actually boring. Everyone must choose the right time and place! Don't go rafting in the afternoon, because the sun is shining and the scenery is not good, and it's not easy to take pictures! Xingping is worth a visit, because the 20 yuan background is here, but you don't have to go rafting here! If you have enough time, don't sign up for a group.
The most famous sight on the boat trip from Guilin to Yangshuo is actually the pattern of weathering of rocks on the mountain. It is said that you can see up to nine horses there, but I didn't see that many.
This trip was really worth it, it was the most beautiful scenery I saw during this trip
This is the true portrayal of Guilin's best landscapes.
The tour guide said that the best ones can see 9 horses, but unfortunately I could only see two or three
Finding horses requires a wild imagination. It's just a cliff, so don't expect too much.
Human imagination is so rich, I don’t see anything.
There are nine mountain peaks connected together, which look like a painting from a distance. There seem to be nine horses in the middle of the mountain, which is quite spectacular. As to whether you can see the nine horses, you still need to use your imagination. It is said that those who can see them must be extraordinary people.
Jiuma Painting Mountain is a huge rock mountain with nine connected peaks, towering over the Li River. If you look closely, it looks like a group of galloping horses. It is said that if you can spot nine horses on the wall within three minutes, you will surely become the top scholar in the future. The canyon rafting at Jiuma Painting Mountain is also amazing, with the reputation of being "unique in the world". Rafting on the unique river channel of the Li River is like entering a fairyland and boating, or swimming in a painting.
The scenery is so beautiful! I booked a three-star cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo to cruise the Li River. The scenery on both sides of the river is endless. The Nine Horses Painting Mountain is a masterpiece of nature!
The unique shape, the combination of mountains and water, and the combination of light and shadow are unforgettable. Only when you see it with your own eyes can you understand why it is included in the pattern of RMB. But it is much more beautiful than printed on paper.
If you choose the Foreign Affairs Cruise, you can tour the Li River for 3-4 hours. This way you can see the whole view. The highlight of the other tours is the background area for 20 RMB.
Looking at the Nine Horses Painting Mountain from a close distance, I really couldn't see many horses. The boatman said that Zhang Yimou saw 8 horses back then. Hmm, he has a good eye, haha~
My travel notes on Guilin/Yangshuo/Longji Terraces: http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/10065982.html
The scenic spot of Jiuma Painting Mountain was named because Premier Zhou said when he visited the mountain that it looked like there were nine horses. The full course of the Lijiang River bamboo rafting is from Yangdi to Xingping, and the half course is from Yangdi to Jiuma Painting Mountain. After getting off the boat at Jiuma Painting Mountain, you can take an electric car to Xingping. Recently, the second half has been suspended for several months due to some reasons. The section from Yangdi to Jiuma is closed from 10 am to 12 pm every day, but generally raft workers will choose to depart before 8:30, so that they can drive back to Yangdi Wharf before 10 o'clock. If you choose to return to Yangdi with the boat (that is, drift back and forth), you only need to make up 45 yuan per raft. The raft is a motorized raft that can accommodate up to 4 tourists. Recently, the tipping issue is being rectified. You don't have to tip the raft workers, and the motorized rafts are unlikely to drive particularly slowly because you tip.
Take a bamboo raft to cruise on the Li River, and you will be amazed by the wonders of nature as you see the scenery before your eyes. The water is so clear and pure, and the Nine Horse Painting Mountain is so spectacular.
When we arrived at the Nine Horses Painting Mountain, we were lacking in imagination and could not see anything.
I didn't see that many horses in the Nine Horses Painting Mountain, but when rafting on the Li River, the local residents tend to abide by their own industry rules.
The most important scenic spot of Li River beside Xingping Ancient Town. Everyone who comes here will go there. There is no entrance fee. It only costs 20 yuan per person to take the ferry to the other side.
The Nine Horses Painting Mountain is one of the famous landscapes. The painting shows nine horses. When the tour guide explained the location of three horses, I understood it. But when I got there, I couldn't imagine any of the horses.
It's not a mountain. It's a place in the middle of the Li River. Bring a pair of slippers, otherwise you can't get through. There's a lot of garbage in the river, but the water is still very clear. There's moss on the rocks, which is dangerous, so be careful when you go through.
Why do I seem to be unable to see a horse...
The ferry costs 10 yuan one way and 15 yuan round trip.
We watched the Nine Horse Painting Mountain right on the river bank, which felt a bit of a rip-off... Although there was no entrance fee (only the boat ticket), there was not much to see, so we took two photos and returned by boat.
You can see nine horse heads on the natural cliffs while cruising on the Li River.
It only takes about an hour to walk from Xingping
If you want to take better photos, you can choose to take a boat
The scenery is really nice
The water of the Li River is also very clear
I don't know why it is so famous? Is it because of an allusion? I didn't see the nine horses! If you didn't tell me, it would have passed by in a flash! 1
The scenery is really nice, but you can't explore it freely, so you can only take a quick look.
The fog was so thick that only two horses could be seen. Clinton could see three horses.
I have been to the Li River several times. The first time I went, the scenery was very good, the water was clear, the sky was blue and the clouds were white, and it was picturesque. It was beautiful to sit on a raft and enjoy the scenery on the Li River.
The next few times I went there, I felt that the pollution was getting worse and worse. There was even garbage floating in many places, and the location of the Nine Horse Painting Mountain was no longer visible. It was a pity.
Because I took a bamboo raft in Guilin, I wanted to take a boat on Yulong River later. So I didn't take this part. To see Jiuma Painting Mountain, you have to take a bamboo raft to see it from the front. We went to Jiuma Painting Mountain by tricycle at the 20-yuan renminbi side. We could only see the side. But there was a place to play in the water on the side. It was okay. There were many people selling things on the shore. We were playing in the water on the shore, and suddenly an old woman came over with a small bag of oranges and asked for five yuan. I was talking on the phone, so I told her that I had to take a call first and talk to her later. She stood next to me and didn't leave, and kept saying, "Look, I'm so old." I said I'll wait a minute, but she kept saying that she was so old. I was annoyed by her and gave her five yuan. Out of sympathy, if I wasn't on the phone, I wouldn't complain and would buy from her, but are you affecting me like this? You are so old, is it because your children don't support you and force you to sell oranges? I don't want to. There were more than a dozen people next to her. I didn't see her go to others to buy. I saw it because we brought a dog? People bring dogs only because they have feelings for the dogs after raising them for a long time, not because they are rich, okay! Another auntie came to sell chicken and duck eggs from the back. When people asked from a distance, I walked over and bought from her, and also bought a bag of dried sweet potatoes. It doesn't matter whether it tastes good or not, the point is that the feeling of being forced to buy is terrible. In the end, I gave the bag of oranges directly to the auntie selling eggs😠
According to legend, the nine horses were originally divine horses from heaven. They sneaked down to earth when the Monkey King Sun Wukong was not keeping a close watch on them. Unfortunately, they were seen by a painter drinking water by the Li River. The painter wanted to depict them, but the horses got frightened and mistakenly entered a stone wall in a panic, and remained in the human world forever. Since they were all transformed by gods, their shapes are unpredictable and difficult to identify, so the following ballad has been passed down through the ages: "Look at the horse boy, look at the horse boy, how many divine horses do you have? If you can see seven horses, you will win the second place, and you can see nine horses, you will win the first place."
Count one, two, and you are just an ordinary person if you count nine horses.
This kind of classic still requires a certain amount of imagination. I counted and counted and could only count 3 horses.
How many horses are there in the “Nine Horses Painting a Mountain”? It’s up to you to imagine and guess. It’s said that “if you can see seven horses, you will win the second place, and if you can see nine horses, you will win the first place.” I can vaguely see six or seven horses, so the “second place” is also “dangerous”!
The Nine Horses Painting Mountain is located in the middle section of the Li River. It is an upright mountain, like a painting screen. The picture of horses formed by the depth of the rocks on the mountain is truly awe-inspiring.
A huge straight cliff standing on the riverside caught our eyes. We looked at it carefully and admired it slowly. There were horses of various shapes in the painting, some bowing their heads to drink water, some raising their heads to neigh, some raising their hooves to gallop, and some standing quietly.
The most interesting thing is how many horses there are on the painted mountain? The common saying is nine. A folk song goes like this: "Look at the horseman, look at the horseman, how many pairs of horses do you have? If you can see seven horses, you will get the second place, and you can see nine horses, the first place."
We looked carefully, talked to each other, but in the end we still couldn't find all nine horses. Finally, with the help of the locals, we finally found them all.
There is a mountain four kilometers upstream from Xingping. It has five peaks connected together, surrounded by mountains on the east, south and north sides, and facing the river on the west side. The stone wall, which is more than 100 meters high and wide, is colorful with green, yellow and white, and is mottled in a well-organized manner, just like a picture of a divine horse. There are patterns on the stone wall that look like nine horses, so this mountain is called "Nine Horse Painting Mountain". It is recommended to visit in the afternoon.
You need to slowly find nine horses on the rocks. It depends on your imagination.
When rafting in Lijiang, you can see that the boatman will stop to take pictures
You can reach Yangdi Wharf by rafting halfway, and the scenery of the Li River is beautiful along the way.
Just use your imagination. You don't have to force yourself to see the 9 horses.
The Nine Horses Painting Mountain can only be seen by taking a bamboo raft on the Li River. It is a very unique natural landscape on the bank of the Li River. You can try to see how many horses you can see.
I can't count nine horses, so I'm destined not to become a great man.
It is said that it is very impressive to see nine horses. Did you see it?
Beautiful without explanation. You can tell a few things. 2017.9.2
Nine horses, I counted them for a long time. It was still spectacular.
The Jiuma Painting Mountain Scenic Area is a tourist attraction on the Li River. It stands by the river, with sharp stone walls and charming scenery. Jiuma Painting Mountain is one of the famous landscapes of the Li River in Guilin. It is located four kilometers upstream from Xingping. Standing by the river, the stone walls are sharp. From a distance, it looks like a huge painting screen. The mountain walls are sharp and the height and width are more than 100 meters. On the stone wall next to the spring, there are a few words "Qingli Stone Wall Picture" by Ruan Yuan of the Qing Dynasty.
Stay in Xingping Ancient Town, visit Jiuma Painting Mountain in the morning, an unexpected surprise
I tried hard for a long time but still couldn't count nine horses. I'm not as good as the kids I met with. It seems my imagination is not enough.😢
The background of the 20-yuan RMB bill was taken here. If you haven't been there, go there sometime. It's really beautiful.
Living in Xingping, I drove to Jiuma Painting Mountain in the evening. On the way, I asked the uncle driving a tricycle. The uncle was very enthusiastic and told us that Jiuma Painting Mountain was on the right side of the lane. If you drive past it, you can only see the side. If you want to see the front, you have to take a boat to the other side. When I drove to the scenic spot, the parking lot was empty, the staff had gone off work, and the vendors had left. As soon as I parked the car, a woman ran out from the opposite yard and asked for a parking fee of 10 yuan, but there was no receipt. I had to move the car to the side of the road farther away. She kept muttering: You have come to Guilin, can't you afford 10 yuan? I said you are not a regular staff, why should I pay you? She said I am a villager here, and the land here belongs to us. I was speechless and stopped arguing. When we got to the Li River, the ferryman was even more arrogant. He told us that we were going to the other side to see the Nine Horses Painting Mountain. He offered 60 yuan for a ferry ride across the river. It was 20 yuan per person, and children were also charged. He said, "Who told you to cross the river now? I'm off work now. It's cheaper to cross the river during the day." I saw that the locals were riding for free. Since we were here, we had to let him do whatever he wanted. After crossing the river, we didn't see many horses. It was all up to our imagination. The customs here are really bad. The beautiful scenery made me feel unhappy.
I just came back from Guilin. When I was shopping in Dongxixiang, I saw a store called Lijiangyuanwei doing an event. It gave away tickets and hotels. If you buy 200 yuan of local specialties, you can get tickets to Elephant Trunk Hill. At that time, I thought I had to buy souvenirs for my friends anyway, so I bought 200 yuan for a ticket. The next day, I went to play in Elephant Trunk Hill. It felt very affordable. It was much more cost-effective than taking a boat outside and watching from a distance. If you have friends who go, you can go and have a look. I think it's quite a bargain. I heard from the waiter in the store that you can also exchange for a hotel. I booked the hotel in advance and didn't ask for the hotel. Later, I went to Meituan to check out the hotel. It was a new hotel. The decoration picture looked very good and beautiful, and the reviews were also very good. I went home and searched for this store on Taobao, and I really found it. The things are also cheaper than those sold in physical stores, and you can also participate in the event. If you need it, you can go and find out. It's for reference only.
We have been searching on the ship but couldn't find it. It is said that some leader found several horses, so it would be very difficult for ordinary people like us to find it.
No matter what kind of boat you go, you will pass by here. I heard that the locals invented a fake tourist route. The promotion was confusing, saying that it was to the Painting Mountain. To be honest, many mountains have patterns similar to the Nine Horses Painting Mountain, so you may be deceived. Everyone should ask clearly and be vigilant. It must be stated that you are going to the Nine Horses Painting Mountain. As for whether you can see the nine horses. Don't mind it, and don't let it ruin your mood for traveling. It's just a fun trip. It is said that when the US President came, he didn't see the nine horses.
If you are traveling independently, please read my review. Before I came here, I followed the guide on China-TravelNote. After I came here, I found that some of them were not what I thought. Here is my itinerary:
1. There was an aunt at the Guilin Railway Station Square who called a shuttle bus to Yangshuo, which cost about 40 RMB per person. I booked a homestay on Qunar.com and someone recommended that I add the tour guide on WeChat. Based on his recommendation, I went to the South Bus Station. There is no bus station next to the Guilin Railway Station!
2. A taxi from the train station to the South Bus Station costs about 30 yuan. There is a shuttle bus from the bus terminal to the South Bus Station, which does not stop in between.
3. There is a bus from the South Bus Station that goes directly to Yangdi Wharf. Please pay attention when buying tickets. I didn't know the situation and bought a bus that went directly to Yangshuo. The bus from Guilin to Yangshuo costs 35 yuan and goes directly to Yangshuo without stopping.
4. After getting off the bus to Yangshuo, walk forward to the station and there is a simple shed with a ticket office. You don't need to buy a ticket at the station to get to Yangdi Wharf. There will be aunties and uncles to call you. Tell them where you are going and they will tell you where the bus is. Buy a ticket on the bus and leave when it is full. A ticket costs 15 yuan to Yangdi Wharf.
6. Drifting time at the pier: 8am-9.15am (ticket checking stops at 25am) 12.20pm-16.45pm (ticket checking stops at 16.55pm)
7. When I arrived, the ticket office said that there were too many people and I had to wait for an hour before I could go floating. Please note that it is 95 yuan per person. There are four people in a boat. If there are less than four people, a seat is 30 yuan. You can find someone to share the boat with. I found someone to share the boat with.
8. After buying the ticket, there is a queue. Just follow the master they arranged. I went to Jiuma Painting Mountain. When I was almost there, the boatman would remind you that the big rock in front is Jiuma Painting Mountain.
