Take a bus at the bus station at 8 o'clock in the morning and arrive at the Great Falls Scenic Area in about an hour. The ticket price is 80 yuan per person; the sightseeing bus is 10 yuan one way (very cost-effective).

We chose to walk up the mountain and take the sightseeing bus down. It was cool along the way and we could see many unusual plants, including the Alsophila spinulosa. It took about six kilometers to reach the big waterfall. We passed the Beauty Comb Waterfall, which had a very good sense of layering for photos. It is recommended that tourists with good physical strength walk up the mountain for a better experience.

The Chishui Waterfall Scenic Area (also known as the Shizhang Cave Scenic Area) is located in the southern part of Chishui City, in the upper reaches of Fengxi River, a tributary of the Chishui River, more than 30 kilometers away from the Chishui urban area.



The big waterfall is at the end of the scenic area. You can hike along the water and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. If you don't want to walk too much, you can also take a sightseeing bus.



Chishui Waterfall cascades down from the red Danxia cliff with great momentum. It is 76 meters high and 80 meters wide, 8 meters higher than the Huangguoshu Waterfall.

Chishui Waterfall is the second largest waterfall in Guizhou. It was raining when we went there, so the waterfall looked particularly majestic and impressive. From a distance, the waterfall was already covered with mist. Walking a little further, the dancing water vapor hit us. It is said that the waterfall is much more spectacular than Huangguoshu Waterfall at this time of year. Standing at the bottom of the valley and looking up, the water vapor hits us in the face, and the huge sound is deafening. The scene is very spectacular.

The scenery is nice, and the water volume during the dry season at the end of February is also abundant. The round-trip sightseeing bus is necessary. The one-way price of 10 yuan for a distance of nearly 3 kilometers is a good value for money. The elevator is unnecessary. On the return trip, you can walk 400 meters to the place where you can take the sightseeing bus.

During the winter promotion, 12 provinces and cities offer free admission, and I only spent 20 yuan on a round-trip sightseeing bus ticket.

I didn't know much about Chishui Waterfall before, but Detian Waterfall in Guangxi, Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou, and Hukou Waterfall in Shanxi are more famous. The most famous is Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is the largest waterfall in China. I didn't know until I came to Chishui that Chishui Waterfall is the second largest waterfall in China. It is located in the south of Chishui City, Guizhou Province, in the upper reaches of Fengxi River, a tributary of Chishui River, more than 30 kilometers away from Chishui City. It is a national AAAA-level scenic spot and a key component of Chishui National Scenic Spot. Chishui Waterfall is also called Shizhangdong Waterfall.

According to official data, the Chishui waterfall is 76 meters high and 80 meters wide. Compared with Huangguoshu, it is about the same height but 20 meters narrower in width. In terms of momentum, it is still not as impressive as Huangguoshu. But its advantage is that you can walk to the waterfall and feel it up close, unlike Huangguoshu, which can only be viewed from a distance and not played with. When I went there, although it was already October, it rained heavily for two consecutive days before, so the waterfall was magnificent and really spectacular. Here is a small tip for everyone. It is best to choose the rainy season to see the waterfall. If it is not the rainy season, check the weather forecast before going there, and try to go there on a day when it rained the day before, so that the experience will be much higher.

Another must-see at Chishui Waterfall is the Water Curtain Cave behind the waterfall. Be prepared to get wet, but it feels great. The most fun thing is to watch the waterfall in the cave. The only downside is that the Water Curtain Cave is too shallow, so you can't sit there and enjoy it slowly. You can only pass through it quickly. This is also not as good as the Huangguoshu Waterfall, but the overall recommendation index can still reach more than 4.5 stars.

Chishui Waterfall, formerly known as Shizhangdong Waterfall, is the second largest waterfall in Guizhou, second only to Huangguoshu Waterfall.

However, Huangguoshu Waterfall can only be viewed from a distance, while Chishui Waterfall requires real close encounter. The sense of impact at close range cannot be compared with that from a distance.

It is recommended to take the eco-friendly car to go back and forth (it is a bit far, but the car is not expensive). There is no need to take the elevator. It only takes half an hour to climb up, and it is not too steep.



The drone can fly freely, but be careful not to get too close to the waterfall. There is too much water vapor, which may cause the drone to get wet.

Chishui Waterfall is probably the most famous scenic spot with the most tourists. If you want to see the whole process, it is recommended to take a sightseeing bus into the elevator or walk down to the waterfall (if walking down, don't walk all the way, tell the driver not to take the elevator and walk down, he will stop at the pedestrian entrance just before the elevator entrance). After exiting the waterfall, you can walk back along the plank road to the exit, passing the Beauty Comb Waterfall on the way.

Note: It is still a long way to walk from the Great Falls to the exit, and there is no sightseeing bus stop on the way, so if you choose to walk out, you have to walk all the way to the end. The return stop for the sightseeing bus is at the exit of the Great Falls elevator.

After playing at Meirensou, you can go back to the roadside. If you see a car with vacancies passing by, you can take it back to the entrance of the scenic spot.

If you don't see any cars or have enough energy, you can walk back to the exit, passing the Qibing Ancient Trail, which is about 1.5 kilometers and takes about 25 minutes to walk.

The second day of the trip was the main part of the trip, which was to find the legendary Chishui Waterfall. The reason why Chishui is called "Chishui" can be roughly deduced from the scenery along the road. The water is not red, but the stones in the water are red. The rocks here are exposed with red soil, so it is called "China Danxia Chishui World Natural Heritage Site".



Just as the leaflet said, there are "living fossil" ferns everywhere. The ferns here are not like the herbaceous ferns we usually see. They are woody ferns everywhere. I like this fern very much. I don't know if it is because its leaves are the best example of the concept of "fractals" in nature. It was winter on New Year's Day, but the sun shone through the mottled leaves, which was very warm.



Unexpectedly, the natural landscape also reveals a red atmosphere. There is an ancient road called "Qibing Ancient Road", which is named after the Red Army of the Workers and Peasants Red Army passed through Gulin. In addition to lush woody ferns, there are also large tracts of bamboo forests. Walking through them is refreshing. Think about the increasingly hazy weather in Chengdu, and the lush greenery in Chishui will definitely make people more and more fascinated.



The scenic area is quite large, and it took a long time to reach the Chishui Waterfall, which is also called "Shizhangdong Waterfall". One of the advantages of this scenic area is that there are very few tourists, and it basically feels like a private place. My parents went to the Huangguoshu Waterfall in their early years. Although it is not as magnificent as the Huangguoshu Waterfall, the fragrance splashing from the mountain is still full of negative ions. The only drawback is that the itinerary in the scenic area is quite long, and it would be very strenuous for young female friends to walk the entire way.

Chishui Scenic Area is a large tourist area, including many scenic spots such as the Great Falls. The scenic spots are relatively scattered, and many people drove during the May Day holiday. However, the biggest drawback of the Shizhangdong Waterfall Scenic Area is the lack of parking spaces. The main parking lot has a small capacity, and the secondary parking lot is relatively far away and requires a shuttle bus to pick up and drop off. In addition, the road to the secondary parking lot is very narrow, and it will be blocked if you are not careful. After taking the shuttle bus to the gate of the scenic area to buy tickets, you also need to take a sightseeing bus (otherwise you have to walk 5 kilometers to reach the core scenic area). If you walk forward, you can see the Beauty Comb Waterfall, and the scenery along the river is also good. The waterfall is relatively large, ranking in the top ten in China, and one advantage is that you can get a closer experience than the Huangguoshu Waterfall at the foot of the front.

It was drizzling when I went there today. The distant mountains were surrounded by clouds and mist like light grass, which was very peaceful and elegant. When I got closer, I could see the Chishui Waterfall making a sound like drums, and the mist was hazy. The waterfall was very spectacular. There is also a beauty comb waterfall downstream, which is also very lively.

The scenic area has a quiet environment and is worth a visit.

We were deceived into coming here because we thought it was the second largest waterfall in the country, but we found out after entering that it was not the case. The waterfall is average in size, but the mist is huge. Walking through the rain-like mist felt a bit like walking with a bamboo stick and straw sandals is lighter than a horse. It was quite interesting (warning: you will get soaked).

There is also a delicate Beauty Comb Waterfall in the middle of the scenic area, which is easy to overlook, so you have to ask the driver to stop.

Highly recommended, second only to Huangguoshu Waterfall. But the walk from the scenic area to the waterfall is a bit far, and there are no viewing points along the way.

It takes about 8 hours to drive from Chishui to Guiyang city, which is really far. The Chishui Waterfall Scenic Area has Danxia landform. The waterfall is more spectacular than Huangguoshu, and Huangguoshu is more beautiful.

Chishui Waterfall is great! The Danxia landform is very beautiful, but the journey is quite far and the transportation is not very convenient.

The water pours down from the cliff like a galloping horse, it is magnificent. You can climb to the bottom of the waterfall on foot, and you will feel like being knocked down and get wet. The water mist is accompanied by a cool breeze, and you don't feel the 35-degree heat at all.

There is an electric car at the entrance of the scenic area, which is recommended to be purchased. The electric car will stop at a staircase, and you can choose to get off and walk down for 15 minutes to see the waterfall, or you can continue to sit 100 meters forward without getting off. There is a vertical elevator in the mountain (completely sealed, not a sightseeing elevator). It costs 20 yuan to go down once, and 20 yuan to go up once, so it costs 40 yuan for a round trip. The elevator is a little more than 100 meters high. I suggest taking the elevator back because the electric car boarding point is above the elevator, which is very convenient.

You have to queue up to get on the rocks in front of the waterfall, which is quite safe. However, your camera will get wet if you run here.

The biggest problem with the entire scenic area is the toilets, which are only decent at the entrance.

There is a restaurant at the entrance where you can eat, and the average cost is about 50 yuan per person. There are also snacks to eat.

Very spectacular, beautiful and shocking! Although it was during the National Day, probably because of the rain, the road was very smooth and there were not too many people in the scenic area. The experience was very good, and I like it again!

I stayed in Kaixuan Village near the scenic area for one night. The price was cheap, 80 yuan a night. The environment was clean, the air was good, and the owner was very enthusiastic.

I didn't have much hope when I went in, thinking it might be just average, but I was still shocked after seeing the waterfall. It felt like the trip was worthwhile. The drop is big, the flow is fast, and the valley is full of mist from the waterfall. It was the first time I saw such a large waterfall, it was spectacular.

Tickets for the day are half price, 45 yuan for the ticket plus 20 yuan for the sightseeing bus.

The sightseeing bus took us to the top of the mountain, and then we chose to walk down. (You can also choose the elevator, but when I was doing the guide, someone said that the elevator was not good and was completely enclosed.)

Walking down, you can see the Dragon Bridge and the Phoenix Bridge. There are a lot of bamboos everywhere. Walking down the road is the big waterfall. You still need to take a raincoat. You will get wet all over when you get here. The Chishui Waterfall is really shocking. It is worth the trip.

The second largest waterfall in China, it is basically the same as Huangguoshu Waterfall, but its shape is slightly worse than Huangguoshu Waterfall, and there is no path like Huangguoshu Water Curtain Cave that can pass under the waterfall. There were only us, only the green color in my eyes, and only a little bird flying back to its nest in a hurry. Think about the people outside the mountain who are trying to get cool at this time, while we are blown by the natural wind, and our pores are slightly tightened. This "taking pleasure in misfortune" is wonderful. (Unfortunately, the small suspension bridge is still there in the evening, but it was washed away by the flood at night. The boss said that it has a service life of nine years.) If you are not satisfied, drive into the mountain, and you will see a waterfall, a dam, and a lake. People in the mountains rest early. At around seven o'clock, the mountains and rivers become quiet, and the village is silent. I am particularly comfortable with this vast sky and land. On a moonless night, the stars flash one by one in the deep blue night sky. The night sky at home is either colorful or colorful. Today, I drove the car into the depths of darkness in the cool night wind, and fulfilled my daughter's wish to take pictures of the stars. I saw such a dense starry sky in Yunnan ten years ago.

I found that many people who go there don't know that there is such a waterfall. When we went there that day, there was no one at the [Beauty Comb Waterfall]. Our family occupied it alone for a long time. It was super cool to take pictures. No one came until we left, but! She is really beautiful!

Don't buy the elevator ticket for the Great Falls. It only takes a dozen seconds and costs 40 yuan for a round trip. It's not worth it at all. The Great Falls is really spectacular. There are a lot of people and you can see a rainbow.

Tickets are entered by swiping ID cards, but because some of the group members have Hong Kong ID cards and household registration books, we had to queue up at the window to buy tickets. I personally feel that Chishui Waterfall is better than Huangguoshu Waterfall. There are not many tourists, and you can go deep into the waterfall area.

The waterfall is only one meter narrower than Huangguoshu, but higher than Huangguoshu, but the water volume is not as abundant as Huangguoshu. The biggest difference from Huangguoshu Waterfall is that we are almost in close contact with the waterfall. The vast sky is pouring down from the top of the cliff, and more and bigger water droplets are falling on our bodies as densely as raindrops. The cool feeling is indescribable!

The second largest waterfall in China is also the first attraction we visited after entering Guizhou. It is highly recommended. The scenic area itself is not big. Raincoats are provided free of charge near the viewing platform, and the staff will take the initiative to tell you that it is very boring. In fact, there is only one position that needs a raincoat, and there is also a position where you can take a full view of the waterfall without a raincoat. The sightseeing elevator should be taken when going up. It is not tiring when going down, but it is quite tiring when coming up. Overall, the waterfall is spectacular and worth visiting.

The water of the waterfall is so muddy! We took photos all the way in the high temperature and had a lot of fun.

I bought a combined ticket online in advance, for Chishui Waterfall, Foguang Rock, and Yanzi Rock, for 162 yuan, valid for two full days. The blue sky and the fiery red rocks have the warmest colors of summer, and what greets us is the most unrestrained torrent! Because we arrived in the evening, there were few tourists, so we went straight to the waterfall and walked down the steps for about 20 minutes. In fact, there are other landscapes in the Chishui Waterfall, such as the Qibing Ancient Road, the Turning Stone Wonder, Xiangxi Lake, the Hundred Acres of Camellia, the Stone Stalagmite Peak, the Million-Year Ganoderma Lucidum, the Huishui Temple Rock Sculptures, etc. Because we arrived late and took a sightseeing bus, we only saw the waterfall! A little regretful. The fiery red "Chibi" is particularly charming under the sunset. Perhaps we are just passing by... Wave goodbye!

Along the mountain road, there are multiple speed zones, and the speed limit for small cars is 60. The parking lot in the scenic area is very small, and all small cars turn right and park in the two open-air parking lots on the mountain (free parking, free transfer to the blue bus to the scenic spot). Ticket hall: Tickets are 90, sightseeing bus one-way 20, round-trip 40. There is also an elevator fee after entering. Many people buy a one-way ticket and then walk for 1 hour to reach the waterfall. It takes another 2 hours to walk out of the scenic area. There are toilets in the scenic area, which are clean. Climbing is very tiring, and my feet are sore the next day.

Chishui is 38 degrees Celsius today. It takes 50 minutes from Jinqian Jiahua Hotel to the Chishui Waterfall parking lot (the car parking lot on the top of the mountain). Free transfer to the scenic area sightseeing bus, and then walk five or six minutes to the "Sunshine" local specialty display avenue to the ticket office. The scenery along the way is great, the canyon Danxia landform, the rushing stream, the scenic area is very cool, about 31 degrees. It is recommended to buy round-trip sightseeing tickets if you come in summer. I was originally entangled in whether to take the elevator or not, and whether I would not be given a free raincoat. At this temperature, everything is over-concerned, and everyone is willing to "get wet". (The elevator is 20 yuan one-way, depending on your physical strength. I think you can take the elevator down and climb up, about 20 minutes, the scenery is beautiful) After walking only 500 meters, the magnificent waterfall gushed down from the red red cliff under the shade of the sun, and I was amazed! The first waterfall of Danxia, I think it is more beautiful than the Huangguoshu Waterfall. Back to the elevator, you can buy tickets to join the Danxia No. 1 rafting. It is a very formal rafting, but valuables need to be locked in the locker for 20 yuan, 120 yuan per person. The quality of the kayak is superb. Whether it is a dangerous rapids or a flat lake, the river is stable and open, the water is turbulent, and there is a beautiful small waterfall. The boat will not capsize and you will have a lot of fun. The whole rafting only takes 30 minutes, but it is worth it. The women's locker room is a hot water shower. Standing on the stone slope, gusts of wind with water vapor hit your face, which feels really good in summer.
