There are more than 500 tree species growing here, including many rare tree species known as living fossils, such as Ginkgo biloba, Magnolia grandiflora, and Liriodendron tulipifera.
In addition to rare plants, many ancient wild animals such as clouded leopards, musk deer, macaques, and musk deer are preserved here.
In addition to the beautiful mountain scenery, there are Yaogu Village, Buyi Village and Laqiao Water Village scattered among them, where you can experience the authentic customs and performances of ethnic minorities.
The degree of commercialization in the reserve is very low. It is a good place to appreciate the original nature and a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts.

I always feel like Mengxiang and I are here to take pictures of plants and animals... Maolan is indeed a native Maolan, with so many butterflies and small wild flowers.
Crab Valley, Latan Waterfall and the underwater forest are much more primitive than the water forest in Xiaoqikong and have more wildness.
It is a place with peaks, waterfalls, caves, red and ethnic minority customs. It is very diverse and has not been overdeveloped yet. Trees and green vegetation are everywhere. It is really a pure natural oxygen bar. But the only regret is that I didn't go to the black hole. I wonder if Maolan will still be so clean and pure in a few years?
Maolan Rock Forest is a typical karst forest ecosystem that is the largest, relatively concentrated, highly original and relatively stable remaining in the same latitude of the earth.
Follow the father of the owner of Yishan Bishui to explore caves, traverse primitive forests and other in-depth tours. Uncle Zhou is a senior hunter with rich experience in forests. He will lead the way according to the guests' pace and explain the knowledge of plants and animals. For details, please see my travel notes. It is a place worth visiting.
For the scenic spot Maolan Nature Reserve, which is inconvenient to transport, the navigation destination must be set to Reagan Service Area. Don't worry about other navigation addresses and road signs. Only Reagan Service Area is correct. This time I used AutoNavi. There was no problem with more than 50 kilometers. There is a free parking lot. Cars cannot drive into the scenic area unless a hotel is booked in the scenic area, but the car can only be parked in front of the hotel. It cannot be driven around. There are inspectors and railings. I got on the scenic area battery car and told that I would take the karst cave crossing route: Golden Lion Cave, Nine Caves, Fairy Cave, Black Hole, so I contacted the guide to wait. Now the unified caliber, the karst cave is priced at 150, and crossing the forest is 300. After a little negotiation on the price, the guide led the way. It is still easier to detour without a guide to find it yourself (there are no road signs in the village). If you need it, I still remember the way in and out of the mountain, as well as the game cheats and background stories. You can add my WeChat alfer33
The scenery of Maolan Scenic Area is actually similar to that of Xiaoqikong. It is currently under construction. Some attractions cannot be visited, but you can drive by yourself. The road is still very good. I didn't know how to play in this scenic area before I went there. After checking the guide, we decided to go to Yaogu Buyi Village in the reserve first, and then looked at the scenic map there and decided to go to Shishang Forest. Then I bought a pass for Maolan Scenic Area in Shishang Forest. Later, someone would check the tickets at some other attractions, so I had to keep them well. The ticket plus insurance was half price and cost 37.5 yuan. It is best to ask the staff for a brochure with a map when entering the reserve, and you can drive in order according to the numbers on the map.
The Maolan Scenic Area is very large. The Stone Forest and the Primitive Cave are must-sees. The other streams and waterfalls are similar to Xiaoqikong.
Self-driving is the most comfortable, followed by chartering a car. The round trip to Shishang Forest is 200 yuan, and the whole day is 400-450 yuan.
There are only farmhouses in the scenic area, and there are many of them. You don't have to worry about having no place to stay. The conditions are similar. You can choose after entering.
This time we had limited time and only had a day and a half to play. We didn't have time to go to the primeval forest. I will make up for it next time when the weather is cooler and it doesn't rain!
Maolan has beautiful mountains and waters, like a fairyland on earth! I like this kind of primitive and natural scenery.
You can only drive yourself or rent a car. It's still good. There is a lot of time. It's good to take your family to play and relax.
It is an underdeveloped scenic spot, very large, and all of it is in the form of farmhouses. The owner is also a part-time tour guide, and it is worth a visit.
Maolan Nature Reserve is a green gem hidden in southern Guizhou, full of mountain, water and rural scenery. It is suitable for self-driving tours, short stays and relaxing moods.
The Maolan Scenic Area is very large. According to the map, it covers an area of 45 square kilometers. It can be roughly divided into four circles, with different points in each circle. It will take two days to tour all of them.
We went to the viewing platform, Crab Ditch, Golden Lion Cave, and Qinglongjian that day. There are 1,360 steps on the viewing platform, and it still takes some physical strength to climb up.
The Golden Lion Cave had no lights and was too dark, so I just visited it briefly. After visiting the Zhijin Cave, I felt there was no need to waste time here.
Qinglong Waterfall and Qinglong Pond are worth seeing, and other scenic spots such as Shuishanglin, Crab Ditch and Latan Waterfall are just so-so. The staff of Shishang Forest Scenic Area said that the fog was thick on rainy days, and the Baili Peak Sea could not be seen from the viewing platform. Since we are here, we should make the best of it and treat it as a mountain climbing exercise. So the two of them bravely climbed more than 1,300 steps and climbed to the sightseeing platform on the top of the 944.7-meter-high mountain. It was indeed confusing, but fortunately the fog was cool, and after climbing and sweating, the whole body was refreshed.
Maolan is one of the four major tourist attractions in Libo. It is the most original ecological tourist experience destination, suitable for landscape sightseeing, ecological leisure, folk home visits, outdoor experience, etc. Maolan is a paradise for self-driving tours. Its winding 100-kilometer green lung-washing route allows tourists to drive through the lush original dense forest and fully experience the perfect state of unity between heaven, earth and man. In 2010, Maolan was rated as one of the best classic self-driving routes in western China. Because Maolan has not been fully developed, it retains more of its original flavor, but it was raining on the day we went there, and we couldn't walk too many places. We only saw the Golden Lion Cave, Qinglong Stream and Qinglong Waterfall. The scenery is worthy of praise!
Reference time: 2 days. Maolan is a large area. If you come here, you need to stay for a few days to play carefully. I personally recommend staying near Wuyan Bridge. The scenic spots are concentrated and the scenery is beautiful. Maolan is considered a primitive scenic spot. When you first enter, you will feel that the karst peaks are endless. I don’t know when you can see the head. Later, you will arrive at the Dongtang Service Center, where tickets will be sold. The staff will first ask you if you want to stay. If you have booked an inn, they will ask you the name of the inn, and then mark the route on the guide map for you, explain the precautions, and then say that there will be no navigation on this road from now on. You have to follow the road signs. I said it several times on purpose. Finally, I handed me the guide map and ticket, and an emergency rescue card was nailed on it! Looking at this rescue phone, thinking that there is no navigation, I am really a little nervous! Please ask the guide to take us through the primitive cave. The guide fee is 100 yuan, and the guide will help you prepare a headlamp. First reach the black hole, and the fairy cave is coming out of the black hole. Coming out of the Golden Lion Cave is the entrance to the Funnel Forest. Huangyanggou and Kongxu Valley are both roadside scenery, just take a look. Originally, you can hike from Kongxu Valley to Latan Waterfall, and 30 minutes is enough to visit Crab Valley and the water forest.
I took my mother to Maolan. This time, it was just a short trip, purely for experience. After all, my mother is 83 years old! This is a good place that has not been fully developed. It is very convenient to charter a car to go there. The Chinese food of one chicken and two flavors must be mentioned. It is so delicious! I have the opportunity to drive there by myself.
In order to reach the top and see the scenery of Wanfenglin, the whole family, young and old, climbed the mountain along a dilapidated stone staircase. The mountain path was very steep, few people walked on it, and there were branches and fallen leaves everywhere.
The steepest part is only wide enough for one person to pass with one foot, which is very thrilling.
The narrowest part of the mountain stairs can only accommodate one person in one direction.
The cliff was very steep, and my legs began to tremble as I was walking down the mountain holding onto the iron chain.
My son and his elderly parents also successfully reached the top. The viewing platform was built on a cliff on the top of the mountain. It was very steep and made of wood. The number of people viewing the view was limited to 5-7 people at a time. It was very simple and felt like it would collapse if the wind was stronger.
Let’s take a look at the feeling of climbing to the top of the mountain with great effort, feeling the cold wind and looking around, you can see thousands of peaks standing in a row, fields crisscrossing between valleys, and the winding road like a white snake.
It was really tiring to go through the cave, but the guide's photography skills were amazing, and he helped us find all kinds of angles hahaha
I have always been fascinated by exploring adventures, so I specially arranged this Maolan Primeval Forest. Before setting off, I was a little excited~
The air in the mountains is very fresh in the early morning. We went out as a group. The deep and light green against the blue sky is really pleasing to the eyes!
The road on the mountain is formed by many people walking on it. It is very slippery underfoot, steep and narrow. You have to walk very carefully and hold on to the rocks and trees next to you to climb up slowly.
As the old saying goes, it is easy to go up a mountain but difficult to go down. I used to walk on the well-built plank roads and did not experience the difficulty of going down a mountain. This time, after walking on the original dirt and stone road, I really experienced the difficulty of going down a mountain. When going down a mountain, I used my hands and feet, pulled the rope, hugged the tree, and held the rock. I was highly focused and did not dare to relax at all, for fear that if I slipped, I would slide down the cliff. And I would take the person in front of me with me. It was no joke. I slipped a few times, but fortunately I held the tree and escaped danger.
The mountain road is winding and twisting. It has just rained and the road surface is slippery.
This kind of mountain road made me feel like a hiker. It took me four hours to complete this exploration.
Today’s exploration of this primeval forest brought me as much shock as the Huangguoshu Forest. I completed a physical challenge in the wild, I marveled at the magic of nature, I felt the mystery of the primeval forest, I even worried that a snake would jump out of the grass at my feet, but when I came back and took out the photos to tell my husband about them, I found that the photos were far from capturing my admiration. You really have to be there and see it with your own eyes to have that feeling!
Because Maolan is still under construction, it is not expensive to go there now. The ticket is 50 yuan, which is a pass that includes all scenic spots within 200 square kilometers. People over 60 are free, but there is no free ticket for 80-year-old companions. We bought two half-tickets and it cost 50 yuan for five people.
There is also a crossing line in Maolan, which is a line of primitive forest and takes 8 hours to hike. We, who have families with us, don’t want to do such a deep crossing.
The Maolan Scenic Area is very large and has many scenic spots, but they are basically small ones. There are many trips and many of them are not developed, so I didn’t plan to visit other attractions.
To sum up the scenery of Maolan, it is actually a miniature of Guizhou's karst landscape, with a stone forest similar to Xingyi Wanfenglin, a Qinglongxi line and a water forest line similar to Xiaoqikong (ancient bridge, cascading waterfalls, and water forests), a karst cave similar to Zhijindong, and a waterfall similar to Huangguoshu. Although each type is much smaller and not worth mentioning separately, the miniatures of all Guizhou's landscape features are integrated together, making it a good place for leisure and entertainment.
This is a pristine place that has not been developed much. The attractions are scattered and only accessible by car. The half-price ticket is 25 yuan, which is very cheap!
Along the way, we passed the county viewing platform, Shishang Forest, Bimang Village Tianyuan Scenic Area, Crab Ditch, Golden Lion Cave, Qinglongtan... Shishang Forest required 1,326 steps to climb, so we gave up and went to other attractions. The scenery of the scenic spot is similar to the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. There are very few tourists, the scenery is charming, and the mountains and rivers are beautiful. Especially in the Golden Lion Cave, there is no light, and it is illuminated by the headlights issued at the door. It is the first time I have seen such a dark cave. It is primitive and it is also an alternative experience in life! I have experienced it and it feels good!
Maolan National Nature Reserve is also the filming base of "Go Adventure with Bear Grylls". There is a primeval forest in it that takes 6-7 hours to cross. We just took a picture at the starting point, because we really didn't have the courage to cross it.
We consulted the scenic area administrator at the viewing platform. It took 1.5 hours to go back and forth. It was all stairs, and some sections were very steep. The joint ticket for the entire Maolan scenic area is valid for multiple days. When we started climbing, there was a stall run by locals at the foot of the mountain. It was really stairs all the way. Even the flat section in the middle was very short and few. The stairs were very narrow. Yesterday's rain had not dried up yet, so it was a bit slippery. Tourists returning on the way encouraged us, saying that we were almost there, and there would be watermelons to eat at the top! After more than 40 minutes, we finally climbed to the top. A local was selling drinks. There was an artificial viewing platform. When we climbed up, there was a slight mountain breeze, which was so refreshing. Looking around, groups of hills appeared in front of us. The road we came from had become a thin line. This is one of the most beautiful peak forests in China as evaluated by China Geography. Looking from the viewing platform, it was really a jungle of peaks.
Maolan is a large primeval forest with four main routes. Crossing the primeval forest is more suitable for hikers. Due to the heavy flood the night before, the ground was flooded and many roads were closed.
We passed by a Yao village. But there were almost no people there. Since the ticket was free, we could walk around freely. If we spent money, it would not be worth it. However, there were also beautiful views everywhere along the way.
If you like to travel through Maolan, you need to stay in Maolan, and generally play for 2-3 days. If you are not a travel enthusiast, forget it. But at the ticket office of Shishang Forest, there are detailed route introductions and guide services. If you are interested, you can consult on the spot. But I personally think that driving in the mountains and enjoying the roadside scenery is also very pleasant.
My favorite and most unique experience in Maolanli is exploring the undeveloped caves. Before entering the cave, the staff will give you a headlamp. There is no light in the cave, it is pitch black. With the headlamp, you can see wherever you want.
The first attraction has already amazed me! Tiffany blue water!
The tour guide took us up the mountain to explore the caves. It felt like we were on another planet! The itinerary in Maolan was much richer than I imagined. I give a thumbs up to Guizhou Tourism! Many attractions are very standardized, unlike other places where there are always a lot of people from private travel agencies surrounding you, with different prices.
On the first day in Maolan, we chose to cross the Maolan primeval forest. We had to ask a local guide for this. This choice was the most self-torturing way of our trip. We had never tried to cross anything. I naively thought that crossing the forest was just walking and looking at the mountains and water. The truth is not like that at all. It was all walking along the way. There was no real road, nothing on the road, and the scenery was almost the same. There was no surprise, but friends who want to challenge themselves can try it. Remember to bring water, there is nothing on the road.
Maolan's karst landscape is known as the "noble of mountains and waters". It is the best preserved piece of land in my country's subtropical karst landform native forest. Because the commercialization level in the scenic area is very low, it is a good place to enjoy the original ecology of nature... Water Forest, Qinglong Stream, Qinglong Pond, Qinglong Waterfall In the afternoon of Maolan, we can feel the summer heat under the sun. However, strolling in the water forest and Qinglong Stream, visitors can step on the water and trace the stream, get in close contact with nature, and enjoy the primitive wildness; Qinglong Pond is the most charming mountain and water secret place in Maolan, and it is also a classic attraction that tourists must visit.
Maolan is a protected area of pristine ecology, so tour groups will not come here, and there are no corresponding accommodation facilities available. There are only car camps in the protected area, which are places to set up tents and camp, and a limited number of homestays in the homes of indigenous people in the protected area. In addition, traveling in Maolan will be relatively difficult. The stone forest, water forest, primitive caves, primitive forests, and scientific research lines all require relatively good physical strength. You have to climb mountains and wade through water in every place. Although there are mountain roads, they are not easy to walk. There is no mature scenic area to build comfortable plank roads for tourists. Those who do not have a certain amount of physical strength and like comfortable travel can ignore it. As I said before, the first function here is a protected area, not a scenic spot.
Maolan is a semi-developed scenic spot, with an area more than ten times that of Xiaoqikong. You must drive by yourself or charter a car. The shiny asphalt road in the entire scenic area is very comfortable to drive. The scenic spots are concentrated in the southeast. It takes more than half an hour to drive through the entire scenic spot. It should take about an hour and a half to follow the navigation. Therefore, it is recommended to fill up the gas before entering Maolan. The ticket office is not at the gate or checkpoint. Anyway, just go to the scenic spot you want to go. You will see the ticket office and someone will teach you how to go there. Maolan’s main scenic spots are divided into three parts, Stone Forest, Qinglong Waterfall, Crab Ditch, and Primitive Forest Crossing.
The main attractions here are the Haast peaks, caves, and waterscapes. Maolan has not yet been fully developed. Unlike other scenic spots, you can see various attractions after entering the gate. There is no transportation in the scenic area. The scenic areas are very scattered. It may take one or two hours to get to the next one by car after playing one, so self-driving is the best choice.
Maolan’s pure air, pure water, and simple villagers make everything feel so pure!
The village is surrounded by mountains, with gurgling streams in it, and most importantly, there are no crowds of people!
Compared with Xiaoqikong, there are fewer people and it is more relaxing to play. The roads in the scenic area cannot be completely followed by Gaode Map, because there are some road repairs, so you have to follow the map of the scenic area. We drove back and forth from Libo on the same day. But it should be nice to stay there for a few days. There are many accommodations near Qinglongtan, and there is also a natural swimming pool.
If you come to Libo, you really have to go to Maolan, which is like a paradise. I like this kind of original ecological scenic spot, which is not too commercial, has few people, beautiful scenery, and is natural and simple.
Living in a farmhouse near Wuyan Bridge, the environment is generally clean and hygienic, with accommodation upstairs and a restaurant downstairs. The hot and sour fish cooked by the boss is super popular.
Next to it is the emerald green Qinglong Pond, where little girls of the Buyi ethnic group are washing their hair, and some are swimming. Children are having a blast here. Going down the stone steps, you will see Qinglong Stream and Qinglong Waterfall. Walking in the woods, you will feel refreshed and breathe more easily.
On the second day, we hired a girl from the Buyi ethnic group as a guide to take us through the jungle and explore the most primitive karst caves. We took the route of Golden Lion Cave-Nine Caves-Fairy Cave-Black Cave. The whole journey took about 2.5 hours. There is a trail in the Golden Lion Cave, but there is no light. There are headlights at the entrance of the cave. The railing road in the scenic area disappears after the Golden Lion Cave. It is all mountain roads and stone steps. Sometimes you need to use your hands and feet to catch up. The next few karst caves have no artificial carvings, and we need to use flashlights to illuminate them. Among them, Nine Caves has been verified to be the oldest and best-preserved karst cave in Guizhou.
When you get to the foot of the mountain, you will see local villagers selling mountain specialties on the roadside, such as dried plums, bamboo shoots... and the sweet and sour taste of the kumquat.
If you have enough time, you can also go through the primeval forest, which takes 6-7 hours. Playing in the water in Crab Valley is also a good choice, which is similar to the water forest in Xiaoqikong.
I really hope this place won't be overdeveloped.
The second time I went to Maolan, I felt that it was much better than the Big and Small Seven Caves. It has not been fully developed yet, there are few tourists, low fees, and the scenery is quiet. Maolan Scenic Area is large, and it takes at least two days to have fun. You can stay in a local farmer's house. The regular route takes one day. It takes a whole day for me to go through the cave and walk in the primitive forest. Ordinary people have to spend a day to cross the primitive forest, because most people can only rest after walking for 5 hours. The picture I posted is a picture of the locals taking me through the cave. There were only three of us along the way, and it was very quiet. It is not recommended for people with poor physical strength to play like this. No one cares about swimming in Qinglongtan. Everyone brings a swimsuit and can go into the water to play, but the water is very cold and deep. Even on hot days, the water is frozen like ice water. It was not developed last year. I went in through the playground from a school. Hahaha, I was confused at the time. This year, the road has been paved, a new road has been built, and the construction of the visitor center has begun. So if you want to come and play early, it will be boring after development.
Emerald-Maolan
During the day, we were stuck in the crowds at Xiaoqikong and had to flee. At 6pm, as soon as we entered the Wuyanqiao Farmhouse area, a pool of tranquil water rushed towards us, and tourists were scattered around the lake. After parking the car at the farmhouse, the child screamed and jumped into the water impatiently. There was no crowds and noise like in Xiaoqikong here. The child quickly became familiar with the two Buyi girls. Thinking of the difficulty in moving in Xiaoqikong during the day, the tense heart suddenly relaxed... Following the clear stream, listening to the gurgling sound of water, walking into the depths of the valley, we also encountered spectacular waterfalls and turbulent rivers...
I had heard that Libo was the "emerald on the earth's belt", but when I arrived in Maolan, I finally understood the true meaning. The hills were dark green, one after another, gently undulating, with lush green dams in between. The lake was emerald green, with a thin layer of mist floating around, like a fairy, exhaling soft breath.
For dinner, we ordered the local specialty, spicy and sour braised fish. The fish meat was tender, without any messy Litsea cubeba, and the juice and the tomatoes and pickled peppers in the juice... were all dried up cleanly.
After 8 o'clock in the morning, a beautiful Buyi girl took us through a jungle and caves. The mountain road was made of large rocks and was very steep. Sometimes we had to use our hands and feet. The most special thing was the caves. There was no artificial development and no colorful lights. We followed the guide with flashlights and walked along the path made by the villagers. Sometimes there were bottomless rock cracks on both sides, and sometimes there were skylights that suddenly opened up. The light illuminated the caves and added a lot of life. There was cool water, light, and soft soil in the cave. Did the ancient Buyi people live here?
When we were going down the mountain, we saw a small dam at the foot of the mountains in the distance. The lush green rice fields were like a soft carpet, dotted with a green pond, and smoke was curling up from a few houses... It was like a dream. After we went down the mountain, we realized that this exquisite and lovely little dam was the farm house where we stayed.
At 11:30, we finally emerged from the dense forest, sweating profusely. Dad took the child and jumped directly into a pool of clear water. There were several vendors by the bridge, stocked with some fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, and small sour fruits. We washed our clothes and shoes at the farm house and left reluctantly in the afternoon.
The guide girl said that the Crab Ditch, 7 kilometers away, has a hydrological landscape comparable to the Xiaoqikong Water Forest. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I didn’t have the chance to experience it…
When you arrive in Libo, Maolan is a must-visit spot. We took three of the five major tour routes summarized online. Let me discuss the construction of the scenic area. If it is developed as a summer resort, it should be good. There are cool water, dense forests, convenient transportation and good ecology. But as a tourist attraction, it lacks highlights. It is the weakest corner of the Libo tourism iron triangle. Excessive development will damage the ecology.
Seeing those rainforest-like forests in Maolan brought up the second question of this self-driving tour: Karst hills are usually covered with shrubs, so why are there such dense forests here?
It took us about an hour and a half to climb the mountain. The path was very steep and tourists would come down from time to time. The road was very clean and workers cleaned it every day. It was very windy on the mountain and the main purpose was to see the peaks.
The mountains here are all karst hills with lush vegetation. Karst hills generally have no tall trees. However, in Maolan, hundreds of square kilometers of karst primeval forest have been basically preserved intact. It is said that this is also the last primeval forest in the same latitude on the earth. It is praised by experts as the "emerald on the earth's belt."
It is a paradise for self-driving tours. Driving through it is refreshing and refreshing. It is suitable for landscape sightseeing, ecological leisure, and outdoor experience. It takes at least 2 days to have an in-depth tour.
Maolan Scenic Area is really worthy of its reputation, but it mainly depends on the weather. We were lucky to come to Maolan, with blue sky and white clouds. The first scenic spot, "Forest on the Stone" viewing platform, has a panoramic view of the karst cone-shaped peaks. The second scenic spot, Huangyanggou, was very beautiful because it rained heavily the day before and there was plenty of ice. The Latan Waterfall is spectacular, but it can only be viewed on the bridge due to geological reasons. On the side of Wuyan Bridge, Qinglongtan, the water is too high to go down. Due to our own physical condition, we only went to Jinshi Cave, the original ecological cave, and there was still a lot of time left in the day. Fortunately, we went there by chartering a car. The master was a professional and was very familiar with the area of Maolan Scenic Area. He arranged some rural scenery for me to take pictures and go to Buyi Town to go to the market. It was finally a perfect day. When we go to Maolan, we recommend Master Meng's phone number, 15985417006. We will come to Maolan again.
When I went to Maolan, I chartered a car and went to the viewing platform in the morning. The roads up and down the mountain were not easy to walk, but the view of the mountains was worth seeing. Because the plank road was flooded during the flood season, I couldn't go to the Crab Ditch line, which was a pity. After dinner in the afternoon, I went to the Golden Lion Cave, and then asked a guide to take us through the other three primitive caves: Jiudongtian, Shenxian Cave, and Black Cave. The road was still not easy to walk, but the experience was excellent, and bats were seen in the cave. The guide was a native of Maolan. He was very considerate. I heard that he opened a small inn by himself. After playing, he treated us to iced wild bayberry soup. I heard from the guide that there are also routes through the primitive forest, etc., which you can try next time. Leave a guide's phone number: Shuidongtian Chaihuo Farmhouse 13628547198.
Chartering a car to visit Maolan Nature Reserve is a good choice! The scenic area is large, the scenery is beautiful and the environment is well protected👍
In the entire scenic area, we only visited two attractions, the Golden Lion Cave and the Stone Forest. We simply checked in and used the free admission privilege.
Maolan is actually a town with houses interspersed between scenic spots. If you plan to stay, don't rush to decide as there are many choices.
We spent a day in Maolan. Due to time and physical strength, we did not go to the Stone Forest. This is a primitive natural scenic spot, which is suitable for slow exploration. However, the primitive forest needs a guide, otherwise you will get lost. In fact, it is quite nice to come here for a vacation. It is peaceful and quiet.
Many people only know about the Big and Small Seven Holes in Libo
I don't know about the original Maolan Forest Reserve.
If the seven holes are compared to a small jade
Then Maolan should be regarded as a fresh and healthy young man
The rolling mountains and winding rivers
Ancient and vigorous green trees, rushing waterfalls...
This healthy and sunny boy's selfless dedication to the world
Moreover, compared with some mature and well-known scenic spots, which charge hundreds of tickets,
The 40 yuan ticket to Maolan is really a good choice.
Of course, buying tickets online can be a little cheaper
Maolan is not far from Libo Ancient Town, about 40 minutes' drive away
But the scenic area is very large, with many routes to visit, and it is very suitable for self-driving tours
If you are not in a hurry, you can play for 3 days
If you want to go to Maolan Cave Adventure, you must ask for a guide.
It's hard to find those caves by yourself
We directly hired the hotel's car, and the driver was our guide.
The cost of chartering a car in Maolan is similar, more than 300 yuan for the car and 100 yuan for the guide.
Maolan Tourism Reception Center organizes a one-day tour for individual tourists to Maolan. The routes include: ① Stone Forest, Observation Deck, Baili Peak Sea, Rare Botanical Garden, about 1.5 hours; ② Water Forest, Crab Valley, Latan Waterfall, Hollow Valley, Boxwood Valley, about 40 minutes; ③ Qinglong Stream, Qinglong Waterfall, Qinglong Pond, about 40 minutes, and you can come back at 4 or 5 o'clock. If half of the people agree, you can voluntarily add the route ④ Jiudongtian, Shenxian Cave, Black Hole, about 3 to 4 hours, and the guide fee is 50 yuan per group.
If you go to Xiaoqikong Scenic Area, if you are short on time, at least route 2 can be ignored and you can just take a look at the Yaosuo Ancient Bridge. Route 3 can also be ignored because both 2 and 3 are mainly water-based. Route 4 is a good choice for those who are interested in caves. It is undeveloped and very primitive, but it is fine if you are not interested.
Before coming to Maolan, I was worried that it would rain, but today the weather was great, from cloudy to sunny, with the sun coming out from time to time, which is very suitable for outdoor activities.
The road leading to the cave is not difficult. Except for the first fork, which is easy to go wrong, there are basically no forks in the road. The mountain is not high, and there are stone steps in places with steep slopes, and occasionally you can see some warning signs.
The ticket price for Maolan is 50. It is currently under construction, so you need to drive yourself to visit the attractions. You will be given a map when you buy the ticket, and there will be an introducer at each point to show everyone how to play.
In fact, Maolan is really very large. According to the staff of the scenic spot, there are many hiking routes in the scenic area. The short one, such as the Jiutian Cave loop, takes three or four hours to hike, and the long one, such as the Funnel Forest, takes seven or eight hours. If you want to visit every scenic spot in Maolan, I think it will take three or four days, one hike per day, which is very exciting. The scenic spot is also building infrastructure. In the next few years, it should become a major tourist attraction in Guizhou like Huangguoshu.
The most fun thing is to go through the primitive caves and the primitive forest. If you go through the caves, there are many forks in the road. It is recommended to hire a local guide. There are five caves from the Black Cave Jiudongtian to the Golden Lion Cave. We only walked for more than two hours. Due to time constraints, we only walked half of the primitive forest crossing. It took us three and a half hours. If we walk through the whole forest, we will walk directly from the Golden Lion Cave to the Funnel Forest, which will take more than half the distance. It is recommended to prepare in advance for forest crossing. Non-slip shoes, long sleeves and long pants are necessary. There are many mosquitoes in it. Don't expose your ankles and arms, as it is easy to be scratched by trees.
Maolan is basically pristine, with the main attractions being the Haast peaks, caves, and waterscapes. Maolan has not yet been fully developed. Unlike other scenic spots, you can see various attractions after entering the gate. The scenic spots are very scattered. It may take one or two hours to get from one to the next by car, so you can either drive yourself or join a tour group. It is said that there are several routes to visit Maolan. At that time, I signed up for a one-day tour at the Maolan Tourism Reception Office opposite Deng Enming Square. The itinerary was the viewing platform, the Golden Lion Cave, and the Qinglongtan Qinglongjian. We gathered at eight in the morning and arrived at the viewing platform at around nine. We climbed a very primitive mountain. There was an viewing platform at the top of the mountain, and we could see the panoramic view from above. The mountain road was very primitive, and some of it had no guardrails. Mosses could be seen everywhere on it. It hadn't rained in the past few days, but the road was still a bit slippery. Be sure to wear suitable outdoor sports shoes. If the shoes are not suitable, it is recommended not to climb the mountain. Safety first. The mountain is not very high, but it takes a detour and the road is not easy to walk on. Two elderly people in our family who are over 60 years old followed me to climb up. I have to say that it must have taken a lot of determination. In addition, we watched the view from the observation deck and did not rest for too long. It took more than two hours to go back and forth.
During the Qingming Festival, I drove to Libo County, and then drove to Maolan. Amap definitely recommended the "Maolan National Nature Reserve Scenic Area Ticket Office (011 Township Road)". The road was so bad that it took me 1.5 hours to get there. I didn't know until I got to the entrance of the scenic area. This ticket office is called Buck Checkpoint. From here, you can get close to 4 main routes (among which the Shuizhongshu-Xiaguao-Huangyangshu route has been closed due to natural disasters).
It takes only a few minutes from the Bak Checkpoint to reach Wuyan Bridge (a gathering place for B&Bs with concentrated accommodation and meals, where you can find a place to stay and park your car). However, you can go through another scenic area toll gate, Yaogu Checkpoint (19 kilometers from the county seat, with good road conditions).
The best route I have personally summarized is to drive to Yaogu Checkpoint in the morning and go directly to the Stone Forest (climbing a mountain takes 1-2 hours). Set off for Wuyan Bridge at noon and then stop for the night. First go through the primitive forest (in simple terms, it takes about 3 hours to climb 2 mountains, pass 4 caves and then return to Wuyan Bridge.)
The next day we went through the primeval forest for 7-8 hours. After we got out, we stopped a car to the Buck Checkpoint and then walked from Qinglongtan to Wuyanqiao for accommodation.
On the third day, I got up early and returned to the county town.
[Maolan - a paradise-like existence] Maolan is a place that makes people miss. No one picks up lost items on the road and no one locks the door at night, which is our unanimous evaluation of it. In the off-season, the most worthwhile attractions in Maolan are not open. The Golden Lion Cave and the water forest line are not open. Maolan Scenic Area is very large and suitable for self-driving tours. The main attractions are the forest on the stone, the water forest line, the Qinglongtan line, and the two different lengths of hiking routes at the Five Eyes Bridge. Qinglongtan is right at the entrance. It is the only way from the entrance to the Five Eyes Bridge. The scenery is similar to the Small Seven Holes, and the water color is a very beautiful blue. It feels like coming to Maolan, the whole world is pure, there is no need to worry about bad people at all, that kind of Peach Blossom Spring feeling. Speaking of hiking, the Five Eyes Bridge small hike is a few cave exploration trips. There are mainly Black Hole, Fairy Cave, Nine Caves Heaven, and Golden Lion Cave. The Golden Lion Cave has been developed, with trails and headlights provided. It is the most beautiful of these caves. The Nine Caves Heaven is the largest one. The Fairy Cave can be seen at a glance, and the Black Hole is really dark. It takes 6-7 hours to cross the primeval forest. You can't walk on rainy days! It will be very slippery. Maolan is a scenic spot that has been initially developed. There is a lot of freedom to play in it. The scenery is not beautiful but absolutely natural and fresh. The local villagers are also warm and friendly. The charm of Maolan lies in its primitiveness and purity. I hope you will still look like this next time I see you.
The family walked into Maolan. There were not many people. Guizhou is really beautiful. I especially like this primitive and uncommercial feeling. I saw various ethnic minorities.
Since the scenic spot is in the primary development stage, many tourist facilities, including roads, have not been built yet, so the main way to visit here is to charter a car. The color of the entire Maolan Scenic Area gives people the feeling that except for the blue sky, everything is green. The most classic tour of a small area of the scenic area takes one day. It takes about a week to visit the entire Maolan Scenic Area. On the way to the scenic area, we met many hikers.
There are only a few attractions in the huge scenic area that charge admission, and the ticket price is very cheap. There are some ethnic minority villages scattered in the scenic area, all of which are very small villages with fewer tourists. We met no more than 30 tourists in a day. In short, Maolan, which welcomes us, is a paradise. It is estimated that it will take more than three days to complete an in-depth tour of Maolan, especially the caves and forest crossings, which require guides. It is impossible to complete them without two days. Based on the principle of leisure travel, we gave up directly. The first attraction we went to in Maolan was the viewing platform, which is the forest on the stone. This viewing platform is located on the top of a mantou mountain with the best view. The mountain road is very steep and narrow, and requires high physical strength. I was still wondering on the way. Is there a lot of people on the top of the mountain? I found out that the platform was really small and could be filled with more than a dozen people, so when we reached the top and found that there was only our family, it felt really good. The elderly who were not physically fit went down the mountain halfway, and they were not idle while waiting for us. They visited the botanical garden halfway up the mountain, and walked around the village at the foot of the mountain, and conducted some research activities by the way. The village they went to was at the foot of the mountain. Most of the people in the village had moved away, and the villagers who stayed behind were mainly reluctant to give up the fields in front of their homes. Guizhou is a national key poverty alleviation target, and this can be seen from their living conditions.
Coming out of the "Libo Ancient Town", the navigation shows that it is about 30 kilometers to the Maolan area. (Maolan should be under Libo)
What was more confusing was that as we drove on and left the village and continued on the provincial road, the road condition became increasingly smooth asphalt, and road signs for "Maolan Nature Reserve" kept appearing on the roadside.
The question is, where is the scenic spot? Is it just going to keep going?
Just when we were confused, a dilapidated thatched house appeared on the side of the road with a sign on it: **Temporary ticket office of scenic spot!
A young girl came out and charged per person: 20 yuan per person for tickets and 5 yuan for compulsory insurance. This is a 40% discount in the off-season, and it also includes a lot of attractions inside, so it is a combined ticket.
Not bad, not expensive, really not expensive.
I got a tourist map and was stunned! This scenic spot is too big, right? How can I get around?!
So, we randomly picked three scenic spots on the roadside to visit (because there were road signs): Golden Lion Cave, Qinglongtan, Stone Forest...
Friends who like Bear Grylls and have watched "Go on an Adventure with Bear Grylls" must have already liked this place. If you like nature, primitive ecology, hiking, mountaineering, and adventure, Maolan is definitely the most recommended place. Here you can explore the karst caves and cross the primeval forest. The scenery is particularly beautiful and everything is the most primitive. The scenic area is large and the ticket price is very cheap (50 yuan, 25 yuan for student ID). It is recommended to visit for 3 days in summer. It is also very convenient to eat and stay, and they are basically family hotels. It is especially suitable for traveling together, giving full play to your imagination, and taking many whimsical photos!
Maolan Karst Forest is ranked the eighth most beautiful forest in China.
The ticket was booked online in advance for 40 yuan. Just show it to the ticket inspector in the scenic area. Maolan is in a semi-developed state and the degree of commercialization is not high. Maolan is the core area of the Southern China Karst World Natural Heritage. Longtan is the most primitive and charming landscape secret in the depths of Maolan. It is one of the must-see attractions in Maolan. There are mountains, water, caves, forests, waterfalls, and stones here. It condenses various ecological wonders of karst geological landforms and presents a luxurious original ecological landscape feast for tourists. The whole tour time is about 40 minutes.
Hiking through the primeval forest is a must-do experience in Maolan. It will give a brand new experience to a hiking novice like me. The route is Dongshai Shuibi - Black Hole - Fairy Cave - Jiudongtian, and the whole journey takes more than three hours.
Maolan Karst Forest Reserve is located in the southeast of Libo. The information says: the various landscapes, underground caves and green forests are combined to present a perfect natural scenery, which has the reputation of "mountain and water aristocracy"; in addition to the beautiful scenery of the mountains and fields, there are also Yaogu Village, Buyi Village, Laqiao Water Village and other scattered places, where you can experience the pure customs of ethnic minorities. In winter, Maolan is dyed red by colorful plum blossoms. The scenic area focuses on leisure travel and has no well-known attractions. The satisfaction here will be very low during the winter when there is little water. Especially after seeing Xiaoqikong, tourists will feel very bad when visiting Maolan Scenic Area. The ticket price of the scenic area is 50 yuan/person, insurance is 5 yuan, the guide fee for the regular route is 200 yuan/group, the guide fee for crossing Jiudongtian is 70 yuan/group, and the guide fee for crossing the primitive forest is 150 yuan/group (the guide fee is collected directly by the guide). Maolan Scenic Area is very large and the scenic spots are quite scattered, so it is more suitable for self-driving tours, traveling on your own, or contacting the scenic area reception center (0854-3618881) to charter a car, ride a bike, or participate in a carpooling day tour organized by the scenic area.
Maolan National Nature Reserve is located in Libo County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It protects the subtropical karst forest ecosystem and rare and endangered wild animals and plants.
There are several routes for one-day tours. We took the route of the observation deck with more natural scenery---Golden Lion Cave---Qinglong Waterfall. It takes about 50 minutes to drive from the county to Maolan Scenic Area. The first attraction is the observation deck. It takes about 50 minutes to climb up from the foot of the mountain. It is hot and humid, and there is really no wind! At the beginning, I felt exhausted and thankless. I was soaked. I couldn’t see anything in the bushes. I really doubted whether it was worth it! It was not until I climbed to the highest peak, climbed the observation tower, and saw the scenery below that I understood the meaning of these 50 minutes of sweat.
If you have been to other mountain attractions, I strongly recommend not to go to this one. It is not worth wasting time. After returning from there today, I suspected that those who liked the comments were hired as trolls. The Moon Bridge was still a bit impressive, but Qinglongtan was weak.
I really don't know what the bees are saying about it. Generally speaking, this scenic spot is mainly the stone forest. However, the 1,360 steps are not something that people with average physical strength can climb. There is no cable car, no rest areas or special scenery on the way up the mountain, and the round trip takes at least three hours.
Other attractions are the Water Forest and Latan Waterfall, but they are now closed. It is unclear when they will reopen, the ticket price has not been reduced, and there has been no prior notice.
There are also cave explorations on the northeast side (Black Hole, Fairy Cave, Golden Lion Cave, etc.), which must be led by a guide and require physical strength. One round takes almost half a day.
There is another route on the northeast side that goes east through the forest to the funnel forest. It also requires a guide and a full day of hiking.
There are no battery cars here.
Although we drove our own off-road vehicles (Land Cruiser US 5.7, Nissan Y7SE), the ticket price was 50 yuan and the insurance was 5 yuan. After driving in, we could only park at Wuyan Bridge, take the cave exploration route and the forest route, and then return to Wuyan Bridge to pick up the car.
It is not worth buying the ticket to see Qinglongtan. If you have been to Wolongtan in Xiaoqikong Scenic Area, you can ignore it.
Outside the ticket office of the scenic area, there is a Buyi village called "Yao Ancient Village". Their ancestors were from Jiangxi, and several generations have preserved their own language, singing and dancing, and tie-dyeing techniques. There is an 80-year-old man in the village, who still has a "Nuo opera" mask, which is more than 300 years old, as well as tie-dye vats, a lot of dyed cloth, and many viewing houses in the village.
I really like this kind of self-driving scenic spot. It is a large mountain with scattered scenic spots. Some attractions, such as Jiudongtian, are still relatively primitive and require local guides, so it is quite interesting to visit.
Because the seven holes were closed for construction, I saw that Maolan Scenic Area was highly rated in the travel notes, so I drove from Guiyang. It was already past 9pm when I set off at around 5pm and arrived in Libo. The next day, I drove for more than an hour to Maolan Scenic Area. I was disappointed with the first scenic spot, Huangyanggou. It may be due to the season. There was no water in mid-September, and the Crab Valley was also closed due to rockfall. The second scenic spot, Qinglong Waterfall, had good scenery. The farmhouse dishes for lunch were okay. After lunch, I spent 100 yuan to hire a guide to lead the way to Jinsi Cave (Jinsi Cave has been developed without a guide and can be visited by yourself) and the other two stalactite caves. The scenic spot introduced about 3 hours of hiking. The stone cave without lights is not beautiful, but it has another sense of mystery. There are staff outside distributing small headlights, otherwise it is impossible to play. The cave is not big and it took 15 minutes to walk back and forth. After coming out, the guide continued to take us on a 20-minute mountain road. It was really a mountain road, and there was no scenery along the way. I asked the guide, the other two caves are not as beautiful as the Golden Silk Cave, there is no road in the cave, you can only walk along the stone wall by yourself. I felt a little collapsed immediately! There are millions of grass mud horses galloping in my heart! On average, she takes 3 out of 10 tourists to give up. Our group of 3 people still decisively gave up the original route and returned. In addition, Maolan Scenic Area also has an 8-hour hiking route through the primitive forest, and you must find a guide early in the morning. It takes 6 hours to drive from Guiyang to Maolan Scenic Area. I absolutely do not recommend it for me to travel from Guangzhou to Guizhou. It wastes two days to go back and forth to Guiyang, and it is as tiring as driving. Maolan is really not recommended for a family trip, and those who like to hike through the forest can ignore it. This scenic spot is really not worth a 12-hour round-trip drive. Many travel notes say that this place is very good and more beautiful than the big and small seven holes, but I personally have doubts. Maolan is so close to the big and small seven holes. If it is really more beautiful than the big and small seven holes, why not develop Maolan instead of the big and small seven holes? Although I have not been to the big and small seven holes.
The world-class natural heritage reserve that has not been destroyed and is well preserved is suitable for climbing and washing. It is so beautiful that it cannot be described in words. Stay in Libo City one day in advance. You can experience the local specialties of bayberry soup and grilled fish for dinner or supper. All kinds of barbecue are delicious. There are indoor and outdoor areas. I still think it is more delicious to sit outside and drink beer. After reading the travel notes and guides, I made an appointment in advance with a tour guide and driver, Master Xie. Master Xie was waiting for us at the door of the hotel at 7 o'clock in the morning. It was so punctual. Since our next itinerary was to stay overnight in Qianhu Miao Village, we drove our own car and Master Xie was at the helm. Anyway, I can't drive the mountain roads in Guizhou by myself. The ruggedness of the mountain roads is beyond my imagination, but I also appreciate the different beauty and the southern guest landforms and mountains along the way. The journey was very rushed because we had less time and the accommodation was booked later. If time permits, two days are really not enough. The most touching thing is that we need to climb a high mountain for about 2 hours on the way. Unfortunately, among the 4 people in our group, there are two elderly people over 60 years old, and the remaining two have leg problems and cannot climb high. Climbing is very tiring. We have met tour guides who want to save effort before, and it is better for you not to go up, but Master Xie kept persuading us to see the beautiful scenery when we climbed the mountain. He said that it doesn’t matter if he is tired, but it is not easy for us outsiders to come here once, and it is a pity to miss it. We were very moved, especially the master who was playing in the water. Master Xie also immersed himself in the water to help us take pictures. Some water currents were very fast, but he still took pictures. To be honest, this is the most dedicated tour guide I have ever met. It is worth the trip. He is a tour guide with a certificate of interpretation and a part-time taxi driver. We are also assured that he drives. If you need it, you can make an appointment in advance at 15885474678
It is a super large scenic area that has not yet been fully developed and has many tourist routes.
It is really worth going, it is quite primitive, you must charter a car or drive yourself, and the attractions are quite scattered!
It is not fully developed yet and is quite wild. There are branches sticking out on the road, which you need to step over and crawl under. However, there are not many tourists because of this. In short, it is worth a visit.
There were enthusiastic local villagers at the entrance to introduce us. We had already decided to hire a guide to take us to explore the cave, so without much hesitation, we asked Xiao Zhou, a handsome guy from Kangle Hotel, to drive us in on a motorcycle. The parking and guide fee totaled 100 yuan, and we stayed at his house for one night.
His aunt’s farm meals are delicious, especially the rice field fish that she freshly kills. We ate the fish on the first night and had it again at noon the next day.
You can decide on the menu with your auntie, and prepare the dishes in advance. Just call her when you are almost there, and you can basically eat when you get back.
Auntie is basically the only one busy cooking, and she is already very busy when there are two tables of guests at the same time.
His uncle and elder brother were taking guests out, so we could only follow his 14-year-old girl. We were a little worried at first, but later we found that it was completely unnecessary. The little girl walked faster than us in slippers, and had a natural closeness to Rui. On the way, she talked to Rui about medicinal herbs and stones, which made us feel very comfortable.
Our caving route is Black Cave - Fairy Cave - Nine Caves - Golden Lion Cave. It is reasonable to go in reverse. The wooden plank road on the Golden Lion Cave side has been completely repaired, so it is easy to go down the mountain. There are many muddy and slippery roads on our way to the Black Cave, and I can’t imagine how we got down the mountain.
Moreover, the plank road inside the Golden Lion Cave has been repaired, which reduces the wild fun of exploration.
We were very excited after the cave exploration, which was also the most satisfying part of the trip for Rui. We had lunch at around 2:00 p.m. and after lunch we went to Qinglongjian - Qinglong Waterfall - Qinglongtan. I can’t say this line has any special features, but we had a lot of fun.
We stayed in the farmhouse for one night and went to Crab Ditch early the next morning. The water in Crab Ditch was very clear. The two men kept wading forward. They didn't know how to catch crabs, but they enjoyed throwing stones. After we came out, we met a family. I guess the parents knew how to catch crabs, and they caught a small jar full of crabs.
I haven't been to the Big and Small Seven Caves. I saw comments saying that there are so many people in the peak season, so I gave up decisively. Maolan Nature Reserve has few people and does not feel overdeveloped. It is relatively simple. We bought tickets on the first day and went in, returned to Libo at night, and went in again on the second day. They just opened the window and let the staff take a look at the tickets from a distance and let us in. I like the primitive karst caves inside. They just gave us a flashlight to go in and take a look. There is a sense of adventure, unlike the karst caves in Guangxi (there is no black Guangxi, I am a Guangxi person haha) which are always colorful and brightly lit, which looks very commercial. Moreover, Guizhou Expressway and all scenic spots are 50% off for Guangxi people, which is very nice~ I like this kind of scenic spot that is not too overdeveloped, but the roads leading to the scenic area and the cars in the scenic area are very good, not too bumpy, and there are many routes in the scenic area. Those who like adventure or bring children can find the route that suits them.
It was really nice. I drove around Maolan for a day. I walked a little far from Qinglongtan and went directly to Buck Checkpoint. Tickets are free for people over 60 and under 14. It was a pity that the water was too high in August and I couldn't play in Qinglongtan and the water forest, but the water in Huangyanggou was as surprising as Xiaoqikong.
The original beauty, quietness, and not too many tourists are worth a visit. The mountain spring is also very clear and beautiful. To be honest, compared to the crowds at Xiaoqikong, it is better to stroll and enjoy it quietly here.
Maolan is really a place with diverse scenery, with mountains, water and caves. Except for the average accommodation conditions and slightly poor public transportation in the scenic area, I am very satisfied with everything else. It is my favorite destination of this trip to Guizhou.
Better than Xiaoqikong! There are not as many people as Xiaoqikong, and the area is super large. It would be great to drive or charter a car. I asked about the charter car and it seemed to be 350 yuan/day, but I was afraid that it would be unsafe for two people, so I finally followed the one-day tour of Maolan Tourism Reception Center.
My favorite route is Qinglong Waterfall/Qinglongtan. Originally, there were a bunch of kids swimming upstream, which was boring. Then, many underground rivers and small waterfalls on the mountains merged into the stream to form layers of waterfalls. You can even see a rainbow in the sun.
I also like the Golden Lion Cave! Unlike other caves I've been to, which are lit with colorful lights, this one is completely dark inside. You have to check your ticket at the door and use the headlight. It's super cool inside! Just be careful when you enter there is a very big rock. It has been wrapped in plastic so you won't get hurt, but it still hurts if you accidentally hit your head. It's really ´_>`
Maolan is not fully developed. Friends who like quietness and leisure can come here. There are no crowds of people in Xiaoqikong and Huangguoshu. It is free and quiet. We chose to explore the primeval forest on foot on the first day. We followed the old lady for 7 hours. It was quiet, colorful, and of course very tiring. Everyone must be cautious when choosing to cross. Consult and understand clearly. We brought a lot of useless things up the mountain, which was laborious and useless. Necessary: water (two bottles per person), dry food (because we are tired, we can't eat much), fans (mosquito repellent, fan cool) Other attractions will be visited tomorrow. There are many guides on the Internet, so I won't go into details. I saw that the old lady in the picture was taken by a bee friend in 2016. We happened to live in her house. She was warm and honest. It was also the old lady who took us hiking. There is a small restaurant with one-stop food and accommodation at home, Traveler Leisure Village, phone 18084447528, right in the scenic area. You can buy tickets and stay there and play slowly.
I just came back from Maolan. The roads in the scenic area have been basically repaired. There is a section of road that has not been repaired and cars cannot pass each other, but the scenic area has arranged people to guard at both ends and staggered to let them pass. The stone forest, crab ditch, Qinglong waterfall, and natural cave crossing are all very good. There are few tourists in the scenic area and not many service staff, but there will be service stations at each point. If you have any questions, you can ask below.
Maolan is a semi-developed mountain forest scenic area, and the original ecological scenery is basically intact. The forest area is large, and the peaks are stacked. If you drive along the highway, you will often pass through ethnic minority villages. It is not like an uninhabited area. At present, the road conditions in the scenic area are good, and people with average driving skills will not be too tired in it. Because of its original ecology, there is no fixed tour route, so whether you drive or hike, each has its own scenery, but I believe you will not be disappointed. On this trip, I was fortunate to encounter wild boars and picturesque landscapes after rain, which is even better than Xiaoqikong.
