Qingyan Ancient Town

Qingyan Ancient Town was first built in the Ming Dynasty and has well preserved a large number of ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is known as one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou together with Zhenyuan, Bing'an and Longli.
The ancient town is built on the mountain, with the city wall built on the cliff with huge stones. There are four city gates in the east, west, south and north. The exquisite stone and wood carvings in the town are a major attraction.
Beijie is the most distinctive stone alley in Qingyan. The streets are lined with courtyard walls made of layers of stone. The road is narrow and quiet, undulating along the mountain, making it an excellent place for photography.

Today is actually the last day, I don't want to sleep in, so I went out for a walk and had breakfast at 7 o'clock. Actually, I didn't have high expectations for Qingyan Ancient Town at first. I chose to stay here because I was amazed by the pictures of the inn online. Another reason is that it is close to the airport and there is no need to go into the city to get stuck in traffic. So I didn't do any research, thinking it was another ancient building complex like Libo Ancient Town, but it was so beautiful that it amazed me.

By jojo |

I think it is a little different from the Dali Ancient Town and Lijiang Ancient Town in Yunnan, but the overall feeling is similar, except that the old houses in Guiyang feel more authentic. You need a ticket to enter, hahahaha. The 10 yuan ticket can only be used for viewing, and the pass can enter the small attractions. I personally think that the 10 yuan ticket is enough... Entering is the same as the common problem of scenic spots, there are so many people, so many people, so many people, many scenery can't be seen properly! After going out, I just found a braised pork trotter restaurant to eat... The price is 28 yuan per catty, the taste is still good, the ice jelly is delicious! The sour plum juice is OK!

The route is to take the bus from Huaguoyuan, line 210, ticket is 3 yuan, bring your own change! It's almost 2 hours, so it's worth it if you're not in a hurry! It's just too crowded... The bus back is even more crowded, and there are more people queuing for the return trip!

The black car cost 30 yuan per person when going there, and 50 yuan per person when coming back. I personally suggest forgetting to take a taxi, it's too expensive!!! 😂😂😂

Overall feeling about Qingyan Ancient Town: Why do ancient towns all over the country look the same? 😷😷😷 The pig's feet were really delicious. I regretted not vacuum packing them back!

Before coming here, I read other reviews saying that the ancient town is too commercialized, so I didn't have high hopes. But after coming here, I found that this place is perfect for a foodie like me, hahaha~ There are food stalls everywhere inside and outside the ancient town, and the types and prices are similar, so I ate all the way. There is a delicious glutinous rice cake stall in the ancient town (I only found this one), and finally I had dinner at Jinbixuan, which has a lot of good reviews. It was really good. The rice cake porridge was large in portion, and the rice tofu was also delicious, but the fried tofu was just so-so. Everyone has their own opinions on food. We booked Wanjia B&B near the west gate for accommodation. It is really romantic and upscale. You can see that the boss is a very particular person who pays attention to details. If you want to stay in Qingyan, you can consider it! ps: The back street is quite hidden, and you may not be able to find it without looking at the sign.

Arrived at Qingyan Ancient Town in the afternoon of the first day of the Chinese New Year. The weather was good and there were many people. It was a typical commercial ancient town. I walked around the ancient town and felt it was quite messy. There was garbage on the ground near the snack stalls. I went to the back street and there were a few spots for taking pictures. In the evening, I ordered braised pork feet, silk dolls, etc. After dinner, I went to the highest point of the city wall on the south gate. There was no night view and nothing to see. I stayed in the inn in the ancient town at night. It felt good. When I left the ancient town early the next morning, there were few people and it was quiet. This is what an ancient town should look like.

The ancient town is very commercial, but because of this, there are fewer people and it is very quiet. Of course, this may be related to the time I arrived. Complaining about the traffic, I took bus No. 203 from the starting station, the railway station, and waited for the bus for half an hour, and there was a long queue. The bus left at 3:50 pm and arrived at 5:40 pm. This time was wasted... When I went there, the management office had already closed, so I didn't buy a ticket. I found that many shops on the road were closed or about to close. Most of the people on the road were couples or friends. There is a small Great Wall, which is specially recommended here. If you stay overnight, you can take a walk after dinner. The ancient town is all bluestone slabs, especially on rainy days. It is not recommended for girls to wear too high or pointed heels, which are very slippery. After an hour of wandering, I arrived at the west gate at 7 o'clock and took No. 203 back to the railway station. This time it took an hour and a half. So everyone should plan the route well.

You can enter the ancient town without buying a pass. The visitor center is very beautiful and modern, and the ticket collection is done by self-service machines. Compared with large scenic spots such as Huangguoshu, Xiaoqikong, and Qianhu Miao Village, Qingyan Ancient Town is slightly quieter, and there are relatively fewer tour groups. After getting the tickets, I went straight to the gate of the scenic spot.

The gate of the ancient town looks like it has gone through many years of vicissitudes. Paying tribute to the ancient town, the morning rain washed the Qingyan Ancient Town clean.

Back to the streets of the ancient town, many shops and restaurants were not open for business at this time. Only this shop with windmills in front of the door was open to welcome customers. After leaving the Zhuangyuan Mansion, we continued to walk along the bluestone path. When we were almost at the end, we turned into a courtyard. There was also an exhibition hall in the courtyard, an ancient two-story stage, and some "ancient" factory production machines scattered in the courtyard. Could this be an old industrial base?

A touch of red leaves brings a cool autumn feeling to the ancient town.

The mottled and crumbling courtyard walls are covered with green plants, which is also a unique scenery of Qingyan Ancient Town.

There is a shop next to the gate that sells Qingyan specialty rose candy. I really like the flowers on the windowsill.

The combination of the flagstone road and the courtyard wall made of bluestone perfectly matches the name of Qingyan Ancient Town. I took a photo of my wife beside this quiet flagstone road. As soon as I finished taking the photo, we were surrounded. I don’t know where so many people came from, all gathered here to take pictures...

The bluestone courtyard walls on the streets of the ancient town are definitely the perfect background for taking photos.

The door of the ancient town, the sticker on the door is the legendary "door god".

After turning a corner, we returned to the main road of the ancient town. The intermittent rain washed the streets of the ancient town exceptionally clean. The bustling passers-by on the street contrasted the slow pace of life in the ancient town.

After wandering around the streets of the ancient town for a long time, I felt hungry, so I found a small shop and filled my stomach. I ordered the special snack tofu dumplings and rose ice jelly, which tasted super good.

Qingyan itself is not very big, and we have one day.

Look around the ancient town, and feel the late autumn wind. The fields and houses at the foot of the city tower, everything seems so peaceful. The drizzle in the morning washed the ancient town clean and the air was so fresh that even the butterflies couldn't help but come out for a breath of fresh air.

As the terrain continues to rise, the tower of the ancient town has become the "Great Wall". Looking at these extremely steep stairs, this is the perfect place to fulfill my "Great Wall dream". The stairs are very steep, so everyone must be careful when playing. It feels great to reach the top and see all the mountains!

Qingyan Ancient Town is about 30 kilometers away from the city. You can take a Didi carpool (35 yuan) to get directly to the North Gate.

The ancient town was first built in the early Ming Dynasty in order to control the southwestern border. The North Gate, also known as the Xuanwu Gate, is a double-eaved, hip-and-gabled wooden structure with a blue-gray tiled roof and clay sculpture ridge decorations. It was the place where the ancient imperial envoys issued the emperor's edicts.

Strolling along the "North Ming and Qing Street", there are local specialty snacks on both sides. The most common shops are those selling braised pig's feet. Compared with Nanjing, the local pig's feet are very healthy. The shop owner introduced that to make braised pig's feet, you need to choose pig's feet raised in the countryside for about one year old, take more than ten kinds of precious Chinese medicine to flavor, simmer over low heat, and carefully braise. When eating, you can add the Qingyan specialty Shuanghua vinegar to make a dipping sauce. It is fat but not greasy, glutinous and moist, sour and spicy.

There is a fork in the "South Ming and Qing Street" that leads to the characteristic stone alley "Ming and Qing Back Street". The bluestone slabs on the road have been washed and polished for hundreds of years, shining like a mirror, giving the street a unique sense of time and space and mystery. The streets are lined with layers of stone walls. The road is narrow and quiet, and the green plants extend out of the walls, bringing vitality to the stone alley.

We walked all the way to Dingguang Gate and began to climb the only section of the ancient town's city wall. On the winding city wall, there were watchtowers, battlements, and artillery platforms, all built with huge square stones, all in a dark grey color. Although this section of the city wall was not far away, it was very steep, with a slope that was almost vertical. Looking up from the bottom was despair, and looking down from the top was leg weakness. Standing on the city wall, you can overlook the panoramic view of the town at any time. In the distance, there are scattered mountains, peaks, and continuous mountains, some high and some low.

It can be said that it is a smaller version of Lijiang Dayan Ancient Town, but it is surrounded by city walls on all sides, and the architectural style is not as unified as Dayan Ancient Town. Climbing up the city wall of the West Gate, you can have a bird's eye view of the entire ancient town. It was a bad time to go there. The city gate of the ancient town and some ancient buildings inside, such as Ciyun Temple, were under repair, which was a pity. We took a minibus to Huaxi Park and met a local girl who recommended that we just buy a 10 yuan ticket. There was nothing else to see, so there was no need to buy a 85 yuan package. There is a commercial street outside the ancient town, which is also built in an antique style.

Recommendation index: Samsung.

How to play: Just spin around.

Fatigue index: Walking for two hours.

I have been to many ancient towns, and Qingyan is nothing special. The same commercialization, the same silver jewelry store with jingling bells at the door, the same live candy shop. In terms of atmosphere, it is not as good as Hongcun, in terms of style, it is not as good as Wuzhen, and in terms of stories, it is not as good as Pingyao. But there are a few special features. First, it is an ancient town with four religions in one. Second, it is the filming location of Jiang Wen's "Looking for the Gun". Third, there is an exhibition hall for Guizhou ethnic minorities. Fourth, there is a very interesting ancient fossil exhibition. Fifth, this was the wartime refuge of Premier Zhou's father.

The ancient town is a castle. It has history and a bit of scale. Park outside the town. Go into a pig's trotter restaurant for lunch. Great! Qingyan pig's trotters are not to be missed. At least one of the 5A. Haha. The scenic area is very clean, Guizhou Tourism is well done. All scenic spots are like this afterwards. Rare in China.

By Xiaoke |

The first thing you see when you enter the ancient town is the city wall built against the mountain. Due to time constraints, you don't climb up and enter directly from the south gate. The ancient town was originally a military fortress. It was built along the uneven hillside due to military needs. The city walls around the ancient town are all made of stone slabs, highlighting the solidity of the military town. The town has blue-tile stone walls and stone slabs, which are simple and vicissitudes. If you look closely, you will find that the eaves of the shops facing the street are double-layered. Since Guizhou rains a lot, the double eaves are like people's eyebrows and eyelashes, protecting the shops from rain and wind. The most distinctive back street stone alley, the bluestone road is bright enough to illuminate people, and the layers of stone slabs on both sides are deep and quiet.

By Sissi |

A 10 yuan ticket is enough for a visit. Qingyan Ancient Town is bigger and more lively than I thought. If you have more time, it can meet the basic needs of tourists for food, accommodation, entertainment and shopping. Entering from the north gate, I played all the way to the south gate, but it is not called the South Gate, but Dingguang Gate. There is also a lake outside the gate called Dingyuan Guanghu. The name reflects the good wishes for this military fortress! The South Gate is very close to the West Gate, but many people feel weak in their legs when they see the steep stone steps and are discouraged. Some people turn back halfway up, but they don’t know that after climbing over this pass, the beautiful scenery is in full view. It took 2.5 hours to wander around Qingyan Ancient Town. Generally speaking, it is very lucky to have such a mature tourist town in the suburbs of the provincial capital!

By Ruoshui |

It is the off-season and there are few people in the scenic area.

I entered from the north gate of Qingyan Ancient Town.

The key point is that there are buses only at the West Gate. There are no buses at the South Gate or North Gate!

Qingyan Ancient Town has become very commercialized, with all kinds of snacks, clothes, jewelry and specialties, similar to other commercial streets. I was not interested, so I walked quickly.

It is recommended to look at the map first and plan the route.

The ancient city wall is a bit like the Great Wall. It leads to the West Gate, North Gate, Yaowang Temple, and Black God Temple.

Qingyan Ancient Town is located in the southern part of Huaxi District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, 29 kilometers away from the central urban area of Guiyang City and 12 kilometers away from Huaxi City. It was a military town in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The area of Qingyan Ancient Town is 3 square kilometers, and the total planned area of the scenic area is about 5.8 square kilometers. The streets and alleys are paved with stones, and the houses are also stone walls, counters, and courtyards. The layout of the town follows the pattern of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The well-preserved front door, waist door, tile roof, double eaves hanging mountain, and flower and wood door reflect the architectural style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are many historical sites such as buildings, platforms, pavilions, pavilions, temples, palaces, ancestral halls, towers, and courtyards in the 4 main streets, 26 small streets and alleys of Qingyan Ancient Town. In September 2005, Qingyan Ancient Town was announced as the second batch of Chinese historical and cultural towns by the Ministry of Construction and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. In February 2017, Qingyan Ancient Town was rated as a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction. This is some information about Qingyan Ancient Town. Based on my personal experience, I highly recommend traveling to Qingyan Ancient Town. Friends who visit Guizhou should not miss this attraction.

Good places to take photos in ancient towns are often hidden in the alleys. Tourists wearing Miao costumes are also quite distinctive. If you don't have time to go to Southeast Guizhou, Qingyan Ancient Town is also a condensed version of Southeast Guizhou.

Qingyan Ancient Town is located in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City. It is one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou. It was first built in the tenth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1378) and was originally a military fortress. The ancient buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in the ancient town are well preserved. There are historical relics such as the Qingyan Teaching Case Site, Zhao Zhuangyuan's Mansion, Mr. Ping Gang's (Sun Yat-sen's secretary and the first person in Guizhou to cut off the long braid) Residence, and the Red Army Long March Operation Command. Zhou Enlai's father, Deng Yingchao's mother, Li Kenong and other revolutionary predecessors and their families all lived secretly in Qingyan. Qingyan Ancient Town was also one of the westward relocation sites of Zhejiang University during the Anti-Japanese War.

The history of Qingyan can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty. It has always been a military town in the southwest. No tickets are required after 5 pm. We entered from the east gate and walked up along the street. The four main streets intersected in the center of the town, which is basically the highest point of the town. There are too many ancient towns developed in China now. Although the towns are different, the shops inside are familiar. Fortunately, the weather is good, so we walked around like a stroll, stopped and took pictures, but it was also leisurely.

Qingyan Ancient Town is one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou. It is located in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. It was built in the tenth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1378) and was originally a military fortress. The original purpose of the construction of the ancient town can be seen from the Great Wall on the mountain. The ancient town was built because of the Ming Dynasty’s garrison. It was named after the blue rocks. It is a mountain military town evolved from military city defense and is known as the "South Gate" of Guiyang. In fact, although Guizhou has long been part of the territory of the Central Plains Dynasty, whenever the central government weakened, the Guizhou Tusi would break away from the central jurisdiction. The Central Plains Dynasty actually fully controlled Guizhou until the Ming Dynasty implemented the policy of changing Tusi to Liu. Climbing to the top suddenly opened up, where you can overlook the panoramic view of the ancient city, and the beautiful scenery within a radius of dozens of kilometers is in full view. Qingyan’s pig’s trotters are delicious and are a famous dish in Guiyang. Don’t miss it when you go there. Due to limited time, I only took a glimpse and didn’t experience Qingyan in depth.

Although the ancient town is somewhat commercialized and several houses charge admission fees, the characteristics here are still well preserved. It is nice to spend half a day strolling around and eating pig's trotters.

Qingyan Ancient Town has a history of more than 600 years, but it is very unfamiliar to me. Because it was arranged in the itinerary, I came here in a daze. It turns out that the only number one scholar in history, Zhao Yijiong, was born here, and the movie "Looking for the Gun" was also filmed here. It is also the filming location of the new version of "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio". I didn’t expect that this unknown town actually has hidden dragons and crouching tigers (⊙ o ⊙)!

The ancient town of Qingyan is not as romantic and magical as Lijiang, nor as beautiful and gentle as Wuzhen, and it is not as famous as Pingyao in the north and Fenghuang in the south.

However, its inherent military genes give it a unique sense of mystery. Decorated with big red lanterns, it adds a festive atmosphere to the ancient town, and being in it makes people imagine that they are in another world...

During the Ming Dynasty, the imperial court suppressed the rebellion of the chieftains in Yunnan, and the 300,000 Jianghuai troops stationed there to garrison. They built stone fortresses and cultivated wasteland, so Qingyan gradually developed as a garrison.

Today, the ancient town of Qingyan has lost the halo of a military base and has developed into a tourist destination. However, it is similar to all ancient towns in China, with a strong commercial atmosphere and having lost its original purity and simplicity. In addition, the hot weather makes people feel listless, and the time specified by the tour guide means that you can only take a quick glance. In short, checking in once is enough.

I came to Qingyan Ancient Town not to see ancient buildings, but to eat pig's feet. Although the ancient town is very commercialized, it is indeed an ancient town near Guiyang. More commercialized antique buildings have been built outside the town, which will make people mistakenly think that this is also Qingyan Ancient Town. The real ancient town needs to be entered from the ancient city tower. It was originally a military garrison fortress. The outer city wall is well preserved. Entering the main street of the ancient town is a lively scene. The stone slabs have been polished and polished, as if they were covered with slurry. Walking on them will feel like skating. Not far away, I couldn't help but sit down in the first store, wanting to quickly taste the delicious pig's feet. This store is called "Jin Bixuan". I didn't do much research. I only saw piles of sauced pig's feet at the door, which made people salivate. I decided to have a pig's foot first and then continue to visit the ancient town. The popularity of the store is very high, and the tables are almost turning over. The pig's feet are really tasty, and the Q-elastic meat tendons and the sauced meat that melts in the mouth satisfy our taste buds. How can you miss tofu when you come to Guizhou? We ordered the fried Qingyan tofu here. The small pieces of tofu exude a light bean fragrance after frying. Dip it in a special sauce and it's delicious! Emerald rice tofu, matcha-colored rice noodles, you really don't know it's made of tofu if you don't ask. The taste is sour, silky and soft. It would be more delicious if the sourness is removed and the spiciness is more.

Qingyan Ancient Town, one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou, is located in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. It was built in the 10th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1378) and was originally a military fortress. The ancient town is densely dotted with ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties with exquisite design and exquisite craftsmanship, and temples and pavilions with painted buildings and carved beams, flying corners and double eaves. The town is rich in humanities, including historical celebrities Zhou Yuhuang and Zhao Yijiong, the first No. 1 scholar in the late Qing Dynasty (the first No. 1 scholar in Guizhou history).

Qingyan Ancient Town, one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou, was built in the 10th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1378) and was originally a military fortress. It was named after the many green rock peaks nearby and was a place for garrisoning in ancient times. The ancient town is densely dotted with ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties with exquisite designs and exquisite craftsmanship. Temples and pavilions are decorated with carved beams and flying corners with double eaves. It has a long history, rich humanities, and a very strong cultural atmosphere.

The ancient streets are very beautiful, but there are too many stalls on the main road, which is quite noisy. The ancient town should be quieter. Some local snacks are must-eats and are very good.

Qingyan is a fortress in history. It has been inhabited since the Yuan Dynasty. A settlement was built in the Ming Dynasty and a city was built in the Qing Dynasty. Despite the historical changes, the charm of Qingyan Ancient Town remains undiminished. There are buses to Qingyan Ancient Town from Guiyang Station and Guiyang North Station. The ancient town is very large and there is a 10 yuan ticket. Friends who are interested in the former residence can buy a combined ticket for 60 yuan. Visitors from outside Guizhou Province can enjoy a half-price discount.

By Sherry Liu |

It was December 1 when we arrived at Qingyan Ancient Town. To express our gratitude for the help, the local government implemented a free admission policy for tourists from many provinces and cities. I was very lucky because my parents were already enjoying the half-price ticket policy for those over 60 years old. As long as I bought the full ticket, all three of us didn't have to buy tickets.

We had lunch outside the scenic area before entering the scenic spot, because it takes nearly 2 hours to get here by bus from where we live. Fortunately, it is from the terminal to the terminal, so there are seats and it is not so tiring.

Qingyan Ancient Town is the largest one I have seen in the country so far. I don’t know about the one in Yunnan. I have never had the chance to go there.

The prices inside and outside the scenic area are similar, and there will not be a huge difference in prices.

Qingyan Ancient Town is located at No. 240 Jiaotong Road, Huaxi District, Guiyang City. There are two main routes for ancient town tourism. One is the scenic spot where old houses are transformed into commercial streets, and the other is the scenic spot where the back streets built with Qingyan stones are preserved. Walking in the back streets, there are not many tourists, and you will feel a bit nostalgic. Although the commercial street is a transformation of old houses, it is full of gold and silver, and is crowded with tourists. It is too lively.

By I really want to travel |

The ancient town has its own characteristics and the service is warm. It is worth staying there for a day to relax. The pig's feet taste good, but it is too greasy to eat two meals in a row. I tried various bayberry juices and climbed the city wall. It was not bad. But the shops there basically closed at 7 o'clock, and it was very deserted at night. There was nothing to eat.

By Autumn Leaves |

One of the four ancient towns in Guizhou, it was built for garrisoning troops in the Ming Dynasty. The famous Qingyan braised pig's feet (also known as champion's hoof) are tempting in color and aroma. I like the narrow alleys and back streets with a unique sense of time and space. There are many tourists in the town, basically all tour groups.

By Cross the mountains to see the sea |

There is nothing to visit, just a commercial street paved with bluestone slabs, which is similar to all ancient towns. I just came here to check in. I had to wait for the bus for more than 20 minutes when I went there, and the journey took an hour and a half. When I went back, there were not many people queuing to get on the bus. The transportation in Guiyang really needs to be improved. Is it that the capital of Guizhou is so bad? There should be more shuttle buses to various scenic spots, especially on weekends and holidays!

As a student studying nearby, I have been here since my freshman year. The ancient town has gradually become better. Now, after many years of graduation, it still has the same flavor. But, my classmates, where have you gone? I miss you.

By MeeMee wants to drink strawberry milk |

When I got to the gate, I ate at Jinbixuan first. The pig's feet were delicious. But after eating, I went to visit the ancient town and I started to be disappointed. The ancient town is very small. You can visit it in half an hour without going to the scenic spots. There are only a few small streets, and all they sell are snacks such as pig's feet, tofu balls, chicken spicy corners, or local silver jewelry. The scenery is really average. There is no need to take an hour-long drive to go there, unless you have never been to other ancient towns and want to experience it. I feel that you can just go and eat some pig's feet snacks and return. The ancient town is boring and commercialized. Compared with the Zhenyuan Ancient Town I visited the day before, it is really beautiful... I recommend everyone to go to Zhenyuan to experience the atmosphere of the ancient town. (PS I didn't get to try the Huang's rose candy. After I bought it back, I found that it was not delicious... It was not as delicious as the one I tried at Jinbixuan)

By Dumpling |

It's just average, similar to other ancient towns. If you are interested in its history, you can come and visit it.

By Where is the most beautiful place in the world |

An ancient town built on a mountain, with a city wall winding around the mountain, the scenery is very good, especially suitable for concave shape~

By Sunshine after rain |

One of the four ancient towns in Guizhou, I have been to Zhenyuan Ancient Town and I feel that it is just so-so. The commercial atmosphere is too strong!

Qingyan Ancient Town was rated as a 5A scenic spot in 2017... We went there when it was 4A... The pig's trotters there are delicious! Haha

By Met you |

There are still many attractions. Many attractions are hidden in the shops on the ancient streets, so you need to look carefully. If you have enough energy, you still hope to walk the entire "Little Great Wall"

By Escape from the Earth's surface |

It's quite big, and it's hot to climb the city wall. Qingyan pig's trotters are delicious, you must eat them.

By Bao Gaishi |

Qingyan Ancient Town was first built in the Ming Dynasty and has well preserved a large number of ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is known as one of the four major ancient towns in Guizhou along with Zhenyuan, Bing'an and Longli.

By Professional earth planing |

A place suitable for couples to take photos of each other or wedding photos, nothing to see (as a Yunnan native, I am sick of seeing these crowded shops in Dali and Lijiang, which is even more boring)

Similar to other ancient towns, there are many shops inside, and you have to queue up to buy tickets to enter.

Walking in Qingyan Ancient Town, you can feel the unique tranquility of Qingyan Ancient Town, without too much noise and without excessive commercial atmosphere. Qingyan Ancient Town is like this, quietly waiting for a hundred years.

By Chi Xu |

I think Qingyan is not good. It is just a commercial area. The imitation Great Wall is also heavily artificial. If you need to buy a ticket, it is quite a rip-off. The glutinous rice cakes sold on the roadside are delicious, with rose juice in them. The rice crust cakes are also delicious. As for the famous Qingyan pig's feet and Qingyan tofu, I don't think they are amazing.

Qingyan Ancient Town is known as one of the four major ancient towns in Guizhou along with Zhenyuan, Bing'an and Longli.

Qingyan Ancient Town is located in Huaxi District in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City. It was built in the tenth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. It was originally a military fortress. The filming of the movie "Looking for the Gun" made Qingyan Ancient Town known to more people.

The town has well-preserved a large number of ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as temples, Christian churches, and Catholic churches, as well as some places where revolutionary predecessors and their families lived. These buildings have different styles, and most of them have become tourist attractions, each with its own fee. If you want to visit all these attractions, it is best to buy a combined ticket, which costs 40 yuan per ticket; if you just want to spend a leisurely day in the ancient city, you can buy a 5 yuan ticket.

By seaskysun |

The buildings are ancient and charming, the transportation is convenient, the commercialization is serious, and there are many delicious foods.

By Qu Mou Ren |

The ancient town is worth visiting. It is surrounded by city walls. I don't know much about the architecture. It feels similar to other ancient towns. You can climb up the city wall to overlook the ancient town. There is no need to go to the attractions in the ancient town. You don't need to buy a package ticket.

Zhenyuan Ancient Town and Qingyan Ancient Town are two famous ancient towns in Guizhou. I visited both during this trip to Guizhou. In comparison, Qingyan Ancient Town is more commercialized than Zhenyuan Ancient Town, and Zhenyuan Ancient Town is more impressive than Qingyan Ancient Town. In terms of cost-effectiveness, it is far worse than ancient towns such as Wuzhen and Zhouzhuang. This is just my personal opinion.

A quiet ancient town, without too many inns, without bars to vent, and tourists coming and going in a hurry.

By I'm Bling Bling |

Overall it's pretty good. The top pig's trotters and cake porridge are delicious.

By Xiaomo Travel Vision |

It's quite lively, with many people, but quite quiet in the morning.

People lead a peaceful life and there are many small shops selling things.

By A happy fish |

Silver jewelry is a major feature of Guizhou. There are many shops selling Miao silver in Qingyan Ancient Town, which has a strong ethnic style.

By Xu Xuan |

It's a shopping street that exists in every tourist city. It's overly commercialized and there's nothing there. You can just walk around and stroll around.

By heavy rain |

I learned from the explanations of tour guides from other places that when students in Guiyang have important exams, their parents will bring their children here to take a walk and eat the top scholar's pig's trotter. A bite of pig's trotter and a walk around these green bricks and tiles may have embodied the hope of Guiyang people for hundreds of years that "exams can change their destiny."

I have visited many ancient towns, but I didn't expect this place to be any different. There are four gates in the east, south, west and north. The bus station is close to the west gate, so I entered from the west gate. It was not yet 8 o'clock, and there were few tourists, which was very suitable for taking pictures.

Several main streets lead to four directions, and most of the alleys are inhabited by locals. It is called "Qingyan" because the houses are all built with bluestone! Touch the wall with your fingers and feel the warmth. The washed bluestone road makes the houses on both sides more secluded and quiet. The newly opened shops exude a lazy atmosphere, the shop owners opposite greet each other and chat, and the beautiful flowers climb up the wall to enjoy the morning sun.

I walked around casually. After 9 o'clock, the number of tourists increased, and several tour groups arrived, making it quite noisy. After walking through the streets and alleys, I came to the South Gate and climbed a small hill. It was a good time to take a rest. I saw the "Great Wall" on the opposite side to climb, but I hesitated for a long time and still didn't go. Standing on the hill, watching the people rushing on the street below and listening to the tour guide's explanation, at this moment, it was like a dream, a good time to steal half a day of leisure.

Guizhou's newly promoted national 5A-level scenic spot is quiet and charming, with quite a scene. The scenic spot is crowded with people and bustling. The signature food, braised pig's trotters, is even more fragrant and spread all over the ancient streets, which is very suitable for foodies to play. Located in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City, it is one of the four ancient towns in Guizhou (Qingyan, Zhenyuan, Bing'an, and Longli). The 600-year history shows the vicissitudes of life. The layout of the town follows the pattern of Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the ancient buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasties are intertwined in the town. These ancient buildings are all masterpieces with exquisite design and exquisite craftsmanship. For example, the stone carvings of Ciyun Temple and the wood carvings of Shoufo Temple are all fine products in Guiyang. Temples and pavilions are all painted with carved beams, flying corners and double eaves. Although they have been in disrepair for many years, most of them still retain their charm. The disadvantage is that the transportation to the ancient town is really too troublesome. It takes 2 hours to transfer buses from the city to the scenic spot, and the waiting time is too long. Inconvenient transportation is a common problem in Guizhou Province!

There are so many people here. I have been walking around the villages and ancient towns for several days and I am already feeling aesthetic fatigue.

By Feng Zihong |

We entered the ancient town from the south gate, and the first thing that caught our eyes was the tower and the ancient city wall. Walking into the main road Ming and Qing Street, there are wooden houses on both sides of the street, and the middle street is paved with bluestone slabs. Like all the ancient towns in China, the main road of this ancient town is also lined with various shops, selling flower cakes, pig's trotters, mixed ingredients, peppers, clothes and jewelry, African drums, etc. It is said that the pig's trotters here are delicious. Wandering in the intricate streets of the ancient town, the bluestone roads and the winding and narrow alleys on both sides of the streets and alleys, you will get lost while walking, but the imprint of history is still very obvious, and the ancient sentiments are endless.

I really like Qingyan Ancient Town. It is not as commercial as Zhouzhuang, nor as crowded as Fenghuang. It is an ancient town with a strong atmosphere of life, and the ancient people's pursuit of exquisite life is revealed everywhere. There are people living in the ancient town, which gives it more vitality and continuity, and is also a kind of protection for it, which is similar to Gulangyu Island.

By oooooolga |

When we arrived, the ticket office had just closed, so we were able to enter the ancient town for free, hahahaha~~

The scenic area is very large and quaint, but there are also many people. It feels like being in Luodai Ancient Town. Looking around, I feel that the specialties sold seem to be similar. Maybe it's because I was tired on the road and there were many people, so I felt that it was just average. It was not as beautiful as others saw in their travel notes. I was a little disappointed. However, I saw the long-lost ginger candy in the ancient town, which felt like the Dingding candy I pulled when I was a child. I went to the back street and what gate everyone recommended. There is a small section of the city wall that can be climbed up. I watched the sunset and climbed the city wall to see the panoramic view, but... For the elderly, forget it. Roughly speaking, the ancient town can be visited in 2 or 3 hours.

I went to Qingyan just for the pig's trotters that everyone recommended, I was thinking about it all the time.

By China-TravelNote users |

Braised pig's trotters are really delicious. They are also chewy after cooling down.

By Greensleeves |

I came early, and there were not many people in the ancient town, which made me very happy. Compared with the ancient towns in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, the tranquility and simplicity here will make people calm down, even if there are some shops along the road. The advantage of fewer people is that it is easy to take photos of only you in the photogenic~ Beef noodles that you must eat when you come to Guizhou. The ancient alleys, the local grandfathers strolling, time passes very slowly here

By Wang Shili |

I didn't spend much time in Qingyan Ancient Town, maybe because I've been to so many ancient towns and I'm a little tired. Now thinking back, besides the Yiwu small commodities and big pig's trotters all over the streets, the thing that impressed me most was that the town produced Zhao Yijiong, the first champion of Guizhou. Of course, the city wall surrounding the town, the Guizhou architecture and batik are also good, but believe me, the big pig's trotters are really too brainwashing - and they like to use "Auntie" as the name of the store, we guess it may be similar to the old uncle in Hangzhou. The crowded Qingyan Ancient Town and the courtyard stage with Guizhou characteristics.

By Fumiko |

It was late when we arrived in Qingyan, and many small attractions were closed. Fortunately, we were able to try most of the famous snacks in the town, including rose jelly, rice tofu, champion pork trotters, spicy chicken corners, beef noodles, Qingyan tofu, cake porridge, and tofu balls. The rice tofu was unique, as it was blended with mung bean powder and various vegetables. It had a tender green color, and it was said that such a recipe was rich in vitamins.

It is an ancient town that was fortified in the Ming Dynasty. It is basically built on the mountain. Although it is small, it has everything, including city walls, government, garrison, and even Zhaogong Temple and a Catholic church!

I have to mention Qingyan’s delicacies. I was impressed by (1) the braised pig’s trotters with iced bayberry juice: the pig’s trotters were stewed until they were soft and boneless, and the bayberry juice was sweet and sour, refreshing and refreshing, and the two complemented each other. (2) glutinous rice cakes with porridge: glutinous rice cakes with a lot of peanuts, sesame seeds and brown sugar porridge, which left a lingering fragrance and was irresistible! I recommend dining at the "Fuguixuan" in the town, but be prepared, it is always full!

Qingyan Ancient Town is still a bit far from the city center, and the buses to Qingyan Ancient Town are crowded on weekends. Guiyang is also congested, so the journey took nearly two hours... It is recommended to take a bus from the railway station (the starting station), at least there are seats.

After getting off the bus at the station, there are two entrances to Qingyan Ancient Town: the north gate and the west gate. It is recommended to enter from the west gate as it is closer. Thinking that it is a rare opportunity to come here, we bought a pass (including the city wall, the former residence of the top scholar, Wenchang Pavilion, Zhao Gong's Temple, Wanshou Palace, Longquan Temple and other attractions that require tickets to enter), but after a round, I felt that buying tickets alone would be enough. Unless you invite a guide, you will just swallow those attractions without thinking. In addition to the commercial streets of the main roads, there are still many locals living in the surrounding alleys.

By Qiao Ruo |

You can take bus 210 near Huaguoyuan to the west gate of the ancient town, or you can take bus 203 in other parts of the city for three yuan.

I prefer ancient towns with history. I would visit old theaters, stroll through back streets, climb city walls, and kill time.

The cake porridge is delicious, and the braised pig's trotters must be tried, and the tofu dumplings are also good. You can eat outside the scenic area and then go in, it's a little more expensive inside.

Qingyan Ancient Town should be said to be much more reliable than Qingyuan, which is also one of the four major ancient towns in Guizhou.

Qingyan Ancient Town has been upgraded to 5A, and the blue sky and white clouds are indeed very comfortable to look at. There are many shiny bluestone roads in the ancient town. The most common thing is rose sugar, but when you look at the source of rose syrup, you can only smile... If you want to play slowly, you can stroll around for a day, but if you are a check-in player like me, it will probably take about half a day.

By Sam |

The ticket sales for Qingyan Ancient Town are only until 6pm. After 6pm it is free, free!

You can't drive into Qingyan Ancient Town. You have to park your car in the parking lot outside. It costs 30 yuan to park for one night. At 8 o'clock in the evening, the ancient town is very quiet, and many shops are closed.

By Walker |

At 6:00 in the morning, I got up and took my camera out to see more of the ancient town's history before the commercialization. Walking on the bluestone road of the ancient town, admiring the carved beams and painted buildings on both sides, there was no one on the streets in front and behind. I felt like the pace was slowing down and I didn't want to leave. After breakfast, we went shopping together. Nowadays, the ancient towns in various places have a strong commercial atmosphere. In addition to local food, there are few crafts with local characteristics. So everyone just strolled around and took pictures. Only my companions made some gains, and got a favorite silver bracelet.
